For a new car that is less than a year old,5000 mile, the chassis parts fall off during driving, which is too dangerous in motion - on a city street -turning
Second windshield cracked within a year, needs to be replaced.
My windshield cracked for no apparent reason.
A pebble hit the windshield while driving on the interstate highway which creating a roughly 12 inch crack starting in the upper passenger-side of the windshield. Within 24 hours, that crack has increased in length, now extending to the middle of the windshield. This has not been assessed by any repair facilities.
Driving at 40 mph without hitting a bump, and without a lit "hood ajar" warning light, the car's hood flew open smashing the windshield and obstructing the driver's view. This occurred when the vehicle only had 10,022 miles on it and was less than 1 year in service. The vehicle was on a city street with no other traffic. Vehicle was towed to dealer, under dealer's protest.
My front passengers side windshield cracked. A tiny rock came up and made a 10 inch crack.
Bought the car 12/21first windshield cracked 1/28 while sitting in my driveway over the weekend. Dealer claims there was a chip caused by a rock but i think the "chip" was caused by the cracking of the windshielddropped off at dealer 2/4 the first replacement is broken takes a week to get anotherpicked up 2/11 $500replacement windshield cracked 2/20 - while driving. I did not see or hear anything impact the windshield but i did here the glass crack. I feel that these windshields are unreasonably fragile and should last longer than 9 days under normal usage.
A crack in my windshield appeared, seemingly over night, and is rapidly growing at an alarming rate. Because of the crack if i do not get this replaced soon my vision will be impeded. This is a problem the affects 2020 subaru imprezas and is a current class action law suit. It has not yet been inspected. And there were no prior warnings.
Today, 12/14/2020 at 430am i started my car like normal. Currently temps below 30 over night. Vehicle has a remote start system. Let the vehicle warm up, went outside and got in the vehicle. Noticed a 12 inch crack on the lower passenger side, going towards the middle. Wasn't there the day before when i parked it. I purchased this vehicle brand new in early september, only 4 months old. I've checked online and have seen hundreds of others with the same issue, and even a lawsuit being filed against subaru. Contacted my subaru dealer where i purchased the vehicle, they told me it's not covered under warrenty, but will contact subaru. With hundreds of others with the same complaint and safety issue. Seems as though a recall should be done on this. Especially since the eyesight safety system has to be recalibrated if the windshield has to be replaced and that service alone is $1000. Others in forums/online have stated they've been through multiple windshields. Same issue, where they'll wake up the next day to a crack across it.
Windshield cracked for no know reason. Vehicle was purchased new. Windshield cracked at approximately 7,000 miles. It was a warm day. Genuine subaru sun shield was placed on dash to keep heat out.when i got into the vehicle and removed the sun shield the windshield was cracked.
I was informed that the windshields in certain models are spontaneously cracking two inches from the bottom of the windshield - a tiny rock caused a 14 inch crack which is unheard of. Clearly, the windshield is terrible and subaru doesnā€™t want to take responsibility for their faulty windshields. When i check google, i am not the only one.
I was driving on the highway and i looked up and saw the crack start at the top of the windshield. I parked it in the garage and it has gotten worse sitting in my garage. I didn't hit any rocks or encounter any unusual driving conditions.
After replacing a brand new oem windshield from the first time one month later i had two small rocks hit my windshield and cracked it i am forced to replace it for a second time. This is very unacceptable.
While sitting in a parking spot getting ready to go into a store, the windshield suddenly cracked.it looks like it cracked at the bottom and went up about 12 to 15 inches.
The first crack occurred spontaneouslymid july 2020, started on the passenger side while driving on an exit ramp at 40 mph.my passenger notice it.i replaced the windshield on 8/13/20.today ( 10/5/20) the windshielded spontaneously cracked again... Heard a "pop" as i was driving to work on a highway at 55mph.
Approximately a 24 inch long crack in my front windshield
The vehicle is about a month old, i was driving on the freeway when a tiny piece of gravel hit my windshield resulting in a crack about 10 inches in length located in the middle of the passenger and driver seat section. I didn't have any heating on and it was a sunny day
Vehicle is less than one year old with no damage but a large crack has begun spreading down the windshield from the top edge in the last week. There is no evidence of a rock strike or other damage to cause this. It appears to be a defect in the windshield itself.
Was traveling down a highway when a vehicle changed lanes, spraying a little bit of sand onto the windshield. Suddenly my windshield developed a 10 inch "l" shaped crack, starting from the left edge of the windshield (about half way up) and continued straight across towards the middle of the windshield.
My windshield cracked less than a month of having my car. While parked the windshield cracked. It cracked inside from behind the mirror before splintering into two large circular cracks. It continue to crack horizontally overnight.
The windshield on my 2020 subaru impreza cracked by itself.there was no damage sustained to the windshield.no marks from anything hitting the windshield.it cracked simply while sitting parked in my driveway.
Front windshield cracked while driving for no apparent reason. The crack was first noticed while on a city street waiting for a traffic light to change.
I was sitting in my car in the driveway, heard a loud noise, and a moment later noticed there was a crack going from the bottom of the windshield to about half way up. There was no cause and this was just a clean crack.
When driving on freeways, twice in the last 6 months, the windshield was struck by a small piece of gravel and cracked immediately. The first time there was an impactindent and a 6 inch crack, the second time there was a star shaped indent and an 11 inch crack. The windshield does not seem strong enough to deal with small gravel impacts. In both cases the crack spread overnight as the car heated and cooled. Both times i had the windshield replaced by a usaa-certified glass replacement shop and recalibrated by subaru.
2200 miles. Windshield cracked. 18 inches long. While sitting in an empty parking lot. Crack starts from under the hood.
A crack appeared on the windshield while it was parked so there was no impact on the glass when it occurred.
My windshield cracked it about 2500 miles. I went to the dealer and they said it was a stone chip however i didn't see one. A couple of weeks ago and it cracked in the middle horizontally just below the rearview mirror. The two cracks were not connected initially. However i hit a bump in the road and they did connect. The crack goes almost all the way across from one side to the other of my windshield at this point.
Windshield cracked on two separate occasions
Was driving to work and my window started to fog so i turned on my defroster and my window started to form a crack from the bottom of the window and worked its way up about 10 inches and then formed a t about 6 inches on each side at the top
Had to replace the oem windshield again due to small rock making the windshield crack the whole screen. The screen is not up to standards and has to be replaced alot! it's to week.
Windshield cracked
My vehicle was stationary and off, parked at my home. As i was getting ready to go to work that afternoon, i noticed a crack in the windshield. This crack was not there after i finished running an errand that morning. It had to have happened while the vehicle was not in use and stationary. There is no crack or chip to indicate any impact with any external object. The crack originates at the bottom corner where the windshield meets the frame of the vehicle. (please see attached photo) this indicates to me, a factory defect. To clarify, i placed tape on the inside of the windshield to mark the end of the crack. This is not to be confused as a chip or mark of impact.
I recently bought a new 2020 subaru impreza sport (bought at 19 mi, current 1300 mi). Vehicle was stationary, parked overnight, during a cold night. The next morning after defrosting, i noticed a small, 2' crack originating from the lower center windshield. Upon inspection, there was no mark of contact by debris. Over the course of the day, the crack grew up to 10 inches. Contact made to dealership about defect.
With 7,000 miles on it, only a few months after purchase, my windshield cracked for no apparent reason. I've heard this is very common and there is a class action lawsuit against subaru for it. The pattern in which mine cracked is similar to what others have posted in impreza owners forums which tells me it's likely a defect and not a typical crack.
Spontaneous windshield large crack while parked at worksite parking place on 06/07/2021. My safety was put at risk because i had to drive back home not knowing if the windshield would explode. I called the dealer (herb gordon subaru in silver spring maryland)right away (around 5:30 pm) and they gave me an appointment for repair with an $800 estimate. They did not inform me of subaru issued with windshields. This is a recently purchased pre-owned certified vehicle on 3/22/2020. Called the insurance company and advised me to go in person talk to the dealership which i will today 6/8/2021. No warnings nor i noticed any thing hitting the windshield.
The vehicle was purchased in january 2020 new from dealer stock. It has approximately 2000 miles on it and experienced spontaneous windshield cracks with no indication it is from something striking the windshield. Cracks were discovered in the morning after the car was sitting all night. The day after noticing the first crack, a second crack developed in the same manner as the first, the car was stationary all night and crack was discovered first thing in the morning.
A crack began at the top of the windshield just at the meeting of the roof. There was no noticeable indention of mark of a object impacting the windshield. It was observed first thing in the morning while in the driveway - not on the road.
Our windshield has cracked for no apparent reason. My husband took the car out for lunch - no damage. Then he went back out later that afternoon and there was a large crack. Even if something happened to hit the car (which would have had to be so minor that he didn't notice), it should not have immediately cracked like this. I have never experienced anything like this with any other vehicle.
Small rock hit the windshield as broke very easy. Seeing a lot of issues with the front windshield and they are breaking easy. Cost $987.00 to repair.have all receipts will provide if needed.
