The contact owns a 2006 toyota scion xd. While driving at an unknown speed, the traction control and check engine indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic. The technician stated that a part of the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired and the manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 57,000. Updated 10/22/2014*lj the consumer stated the manufacturer was notified and there was a recall for the scion xb, model year 2006 with the same issue but, this vehicle was not included.
