My mother in law hit a tree going 50 mph hitting the passenger side of her car into tree, airbags did not go off. Because the airbags did not deploy she suffered major head trauma that lead to her death. The impact was so severe her passenger side of car was bent in to drivers side and she suffered broken limbs on right side of her body.
Driving home and hit another vehicle that was stopped. I was going approx. 40-45 mph. At the time of the accident. I rear ended a older cadillac, in my scion xa, the air bags never went off!!

On may 28, 2005, while driving my 2004 toyota prius, several warning lights appeared on the dashboard, and my wife and i decided to take it to a dealer (toyota of dallas) immediately.before we went much distance, the engine stalled and would not re-start.we called the dealer, who we asked to send a wrecker.this was done, and the car was taken to the dealer.the following appears on the dealer's work order:10835 check engine light and other warning lights 801013 .2 eg4017 .8 1.0 as per tsb ego47-04 reflashed ecu and cleared codes t1-8a - t2-99"the car seems to be in good working order.there was no injury to me, my wife, or anyone else.
Our 2004 prius on four separate occasions had a complete engine shutdown with lots of indicator lights lit on the dashboard.this happened twice while we were traveling on interstate highways in traffic at highway speeds, once in a toyota dealership while the vehicle was being serviced, and once as we pulled into a toyoto dealership for service. We were not aware we could send a complaint to nhtsa until we say today's msnbc article.the first engine shutdown occurred in the hyannis toyota dealership in massachusetts.they took quite a while to fix the vehicle and made several phone calls to toyota engineers for help.they wrote on our receipt: "needs trans replacement for permanent repair."after we left massachusetts we drove across country toward our home in california.the other three engine shutdowns happened during this trip.we had to be towed (at toyota's expense) twice as a result of the interstate engine shutdowns and ended up at a toyota dealership in jackson, mississippi.we had to stay several days at our own expense while they repaired the vehicle, again consulting several times with toyota engineers during the repair.after we reached california we took the vehicle to south bay toyota and requested the "permanent" repair described on the hyannis toyota receipt.we were told they would do nothing because there was no indicator showing any problems at that time.we made several phone calls to toyota but were unable to get them to do anything further to our car.
Dt: consumer states: the car smells like sulfur dioxide comingin the car throughvents and comes catalyticconverter. Dealer tried to fixed it. Thought it was originally frombuses in the city.
2004 scion xa. Drivers side floor mat interferes with gas pedal.no damage or injuries to date.ongoing problem for more than 2 years.
Toyota motor corp manufacturing of the 2004 solara is absurd. Toyota will not repair or warranty anything on these vehicles. I have gone through 3 complete braking systems, replaced multiple sets of tires, the interior is already falling apart as the rear taillight is out and the front headlight as well. Toyota refuses to warranty any parts says its stated in the new warranty terms which i was never showed when i purchased the vhl brand new?the right side of the car is all rusted out from the braking system failings as well on a 2004 car? worst car ever and worst manufacturer ever dealt with. Going to go back to gm corp they stand behind consumer complaints.

My car is a 2004 prius purchased august 2004.on april 18, i had been driving for about 15 minutes, then stopped at a stop sign.upon resuming driving, a warning light (triangle/exclamation mark) and the hybrid system warning light (exclamation mark over a car) came on. There was no warning sound.initially, the car still ran, so i continued at low speed (<30mph) and had my passenger look up what to do.as i continued, i realized the power was lessening, so after about a mile, i pulled off the road and parked.at that point, i could not get the car to turn off, or to do much of anything.the manual said not to drive the car if the hybrid system warning light comes on,so i called for a tow.when the tow driver got there, we realized we would have to turn off the car to get it onto the flatbed tow truck, so the driver kept pushing buttons until the car finally turned off.then, when we turned it on again to put it in neutral, it seemed to behave normally.nonetheless, i had it towed to the dealership (world toyota, atlanta, ga) where they kept the car for 2 days, but could not find anything wrong, and did no repair.subsequently, i found a "tod" service bulletin (http://www.alldata.com/tsb/toyota/1100764800000_1103011200000_eg047r-04/1.html ) and brought that to their attention, but they did not seem to think that it fit my circumstance, and again did no repair.
During a routine drive home, i drove over rail road tracks and the car began to accelerate without my foot on the gas pedal.the car continued to accelerate with both feet on the break.i verified that the floor mat was not stuck on the pedal.i placed the car in neutral and the engine was still pegging.i also tried to depress and release the gas pedal several times and that did not stop the acceleration.in order to keep from crashing, i had to keep my feet firmly on the break.this unintended acceleration was occurring for about a quarter mile.i attempted one final cycle of the gas pedal (depress and release) and that finally stopped the acceleration.
