Takata recall...as i was driving speed limit (60-65mph) on the freeway at around 11:30pm (10/21/16), driving on the 2nd lane. There was some debris on the road as i hit a pot hole my rear passenger tire pops. I instantly lose control as i see the semi-truck in the 3rd lane (truck lane). I tried to avoid the truck but the car took me into that direction. As my car slightly went under the truck, the trucks rear passenger tires ram over the top of the passenger side of the hood and my air bags never deployed. As i was under the truck i somehow get out of it and spin out until the car is complete stopped. When completely stopped, i am facing traffic coming towards my direction. Since the airbags didn't deploy it was an unsafe situation. Safety is everybody concerns and at the time my life could've been at risk. No other cars were involved in this accident but me and the semi-truck, but the semi-truck never stopped at the scene.

Vehicle struck highway 99 center guard rail (at a 45 degree angle) on passenger front bumper traveling approximately 65 miles per hour (spin) then reversed spin slamming rear bumper of vehicle into same guard rail.vehicle has front (driver and passenger) and side airbags, not one airbag deployed.according to the vehicle safety features, the front airbags should have deployed.

My air bags in my seats don't work at all. Neither does my air bag in my wheel. The tires shakes when i drive past 60 and the rims are not safe. This should not happen to my child what if she gets in a accident. The seat belt does not buckle and seat will not go back. 95000 miles and this is rediculious.

The contact owns a 2007 scion tc. While driving at unknown speeds, the brakes failed and the contact crashed into the rear of a trailer. The air bags failed to deploy. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The driver sustained a sprain and bruises to the shoulder, neck, and hand, which required medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 113,000.

While driving to work in my 2007 scion tc my passenger side airbag "off" light came on as well as my drivers side airbag light came on and remained on.

I was recently in a car accident where i hit a truck with the front of my car going at least 30 mph and my airbag did not deploy which i believe increased my injury.

April 15, 2008 i had a car stop short in front of me and swerved to miss them hit the median and rolled at least six times according to a eye witness running around 60-65 mph the car was totaled and there was no air bag deployment and i know that there not supposed to deploy on a rollover but at some time or another it hit the front end hard enough to bust and bend up the radiator and it pushed the motor back into the fire wall and not to mention the damage done to the body workso i just kind of figured somebody needs to know i was injured in the wreck and i honestly couldn't say if they would of helped or made the accident worse but i need to know why they didn't deploy i've found no recalls or anything on the car so maybe it was a default air bag,,, please let me know something,,the car was a 2007 scion tc.

I hit a police car that was parked on the fast lane on the interstate and never even applied the brake. I was doing between 65 to 75 mph. No airbags deployed!the impact... Well the front apron on the driver side is gone, the strut tower is gone (i don't mean bent .... Gone), the lower part of the a pillar is pushed in pretty bad, it buckled the floor pan, the door jam (rocker panel) buckled, the door bowed and even buckled the rear quarter. The door latch held up, the door had to be removed by the fire department. I keep my seat back pretty far, however my face hit the steering wheel hard enough to bend the top of the steering wheel and chin broke some of the plastic parts off the wheel and now missing part of my lip and have quite a few stitches in my face. And of course it knocked me out. I have lots of bruising from the seat belt around my waist, but none from the shoulder strap.the shoulder retractor didn't lock to keep me from hitting the wheel. The scion seat belts in the front have "pre-tensioner with force limiters" in them, neither worked.i called toyota, the claim rep stated that unless both airbag sensors take direct and equal impacts or the airbags will not go off.he stated that toyota wouldn't even look at the car for the airbags.updated 12/08/10updated 12/13/10 updated 12/30/10updated ivoq 01/07/11

Backlight for clock and heating and air controls intermittently went on and off, and eventually off altogether. Appears to be an issue with majority of early '07 scion tc's, yet no recall or tsb??? dealer wants to charge to fix, should be warranty issue.

The contact owned a 2007 scion tc. While driving approximately 25 mph, the driver observed flames coming from the front passenger side floorboard. The driver pulled over and exited the vehicle. The fire department extinguished the fire. There were no injuries reported. A fire and a police report were filed. The vehicle was destroyed and towed to a junk yard. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 117,000. The vin was unavailable.updated 09/22/16*lj*as

The instrument panel around the clock burned out for no reason.the car is not put together well everything sounds as if the frame will separate from the car.the car has a problem with the cooling system, if is really loud an shakes the car really bad.the abs in the car responds prematurely which it is really loud.the seat belts in the car does not retract properly cause damage to the seat hook in the car and it premature tights while sitting at a light so you have to unbuckle an re-buckle often in the car.the engine fan timing is off as if it does not know what to do and it is extremely loud.

Car drinking oil, piston ring finally dropped. I was driving and my car started a rough idle then started knocking so i pulled over. They're running tests now but i'm no dummy, this is a piston issue. I brought my car in during the manufacturer suggested window to get this looked at on multiple occasions and they told me my car was asymptomatic despite me explaining that it was drinking excessive oil. If my car engine is ruined because of this toyota will be paying for my new motor or one of their 2 dealerships that kept insisting i was crazy will be paying for that new motor. I've had the car since it was brand new with all the service records to prove that this should not happen.

Oil consumption recall requiredmultiple vehicles including my 2007 scion tc are plagued the manufacturing defect which is causing vehicles to consume excessive amounts of oil. Toyota announced an "enhanced warranty" to repair the problem but there is little to no progress for the majority of owners because they are delaying the release of parts for repair. I spoke to multiple service advisers at different locations who all said toyota does not want to take the upfront charge to repair all the affected vehicles. Dealer confirmed that toyota only sends enough parts to repair 2-3 vehicles per week. My vehicle was confirmed to be consuming excess amounts of oil by the toyota dealer on 4/16/2016 and i was given a repair date of 3/27/2017. Toyota is intentionally delaying the repairs in an attempt to allow vehicles to become non-operational before repairs are completed. This is egregious, arrogant, and unethical. It is not normal for any vehicle to burn through 2 quarts of oil in less than 1000 miles. They are creating a hazardous situation for anyone operating the affected vehicles. If my engine seizes as a result of running out of oil, an accident is more probable. I am confidant multiple accidents have resulted from toyota engines seizing due to running out of oil. Surely myself or my child could be injured or suffer heat stroke if i were to run out of oil without access to assistance for multiple hours in 110 degree weather. This is dangerous, please issue a recall.

My scion tc engine ceased because the engine was burning oil excessively. I was driving from college to home when my car start making loud noise and i pulled over on the side of the road. I had car towed to the mechanic shop and he told me that my engine is ceased and it cost me about $3000 to replace the engine.

My 2007 tc has a very large oil consumption problem to the point of between oil changes i am putting in about 1.5 quarts to 2 quarts. The vehicle never has any onboard warnings either i don't get a oil light or low oil light. It is so bad that i have to check my oil daily just to make sure my engine isnt going to blow and usually end up adding oil once totwice a week. I bought the car when there was a service maintenance on the tc for the oil consumption and the dealer i purchased it from never said anything about it having it and i never heard anything about it until after it was over i feel as scion or toyota should have to fix the problem for every scion.

Takata recallmy car's engine recently (two days ago) has been making ticking rattling noises when i start up and begin to accelerate. Took my 2007 scion tc in to have the oil checked and they said the valve gasket cover was damaged and just needed replacement. They preformed an oil change and fixed the valve cover and hand me over the keys to take off. As i start up the car the engine is still making the ticking rattling noise. I go back into the service department and ask them if the car just needs to circulate the oil around for a bit to lubricate the engine and then the noise will go away. They all hesitated from answering the question and said it may just permanently be there. My car only has 78,000 miles and i have always kept it in good care. This problem came out of nowhere and left me incredibly disappointed driving away with the same problem left unfixed. After doing some research on the issue i came across many others who have experienced this same sort of problem regarding excessive oil consumption burning that is leading to engine failure. What is toyota doing about this problem that is occurring for many customers at a low mileage point? are they standing behind their loyalty and trust to their customers or just going to leave them out in the cold to worry about these high cost problems alone? thank you for any help and guidance you can provide.

Excessive oil is being lost in the engine.

Letter from congressman carter on behalf of constituent re 2007 toyota scion recall.the consumer stated the vehicle had an engine/oil problem. The engine was replaced in july 2014, due to a rod being thrown through the engine block.the consumer then received a warranty enhancement notification regarding an oil consumption problem. He submitted documentation for reimbursement. However, toyota never responded.

The contact owns a 2007 toyota scion tc. While driving at approximately 35 mph, there was an abnormal noise coming from the vehicle and an unknown warning light illuminated. The contact stated that while the vehicle was being driven to the dealer, an unknown part of the engine fell out causing oil to spill out with fumes of smoke. There was no fire but a fire report was filed with the fire department. The vehicle was towed to the dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 84,000.

I bought toyota scion tc on april 2016 and the odometer reading was 77593 miles. On may 05, 2017 while driving from walmart to my college campus, i heard loud knocking sound coming from the engine. I immediately pulled over the side and had the car towed to my apartment building. The following friday on may 12, 2017, i had the car towed from dallas to our mechanic shop in fort worth. The mechanic called and told me that the engine has ceased. The cost to replace the engine including the labor is $3300. I was having the oil changed every 3000 miles and i was also adding oil every 2 weeks. This excessive oil consumption has resulted in a total engine loss.

Engine locked up and needs to be replaced. I was told there was no oil in the engine at all, which seems to be due to a design defect causing no excessive engine oil consumption. I was driving on the interstate and barely made it the shoulder when the car seized up and died. No low oil light ever came on. If someone was driving in heavier traffic, the car could shut off in an active driving lane.

For over a year i have noticed that my car has been consuming large amounts of oil. I noticed it when i still had 1,000 miles until my next oil change. My check engine light came on and i immediately went to advance auto parts to check the oil. I needed to put 3 and a half liters in because it was almost completely out. Scion tc's only hold 4 liters of oil. So my car burned up almost all of the oil and i had only driven 2,000 miles since my last oil change!! this is absurd, i bought my car brand new and have kept it serviced regularly and just paid it off! i should not be having this problem, but i've done my research and know that this is not an error on my part for not taking proper care of my car, it is a defect in the engine. I have a friend who services cars at toyota and he said that the engine was built backward and that's why the oil consumption is very large. The only way to fix this is to rebuild the engine. I really am upset by this because like i said earlier i bought this brand new and have it paid off. I should not be having this issue, and since there is a defect in the way the engine was built i would hope that toyota would recall this because it is not up to quality standard plus they need to take ownership of their mistake, and this is a big one that i shouldn't have to go into financial debt over.

I noticed the oil level on the dip stick was at the "need to add a quart" mark after 5,000 miles.the 2007 tc only has 65k miles.i noticed that was pretty strange given in my experience with other cars, they will only need about a quart of oil at 150k to 200k plus miles.i have brought this matter to the toyota service representative when i took the car in for the 65k miles service and of course the typical default, trained, conditioned, dealer service representative response was that it is normal to have this amount of burning oil.it is after i read other tc owner reports that were filed with nhtsa that this is reoccurring problem with this vehicle.i am requesting nhtsa to look into a recall to fix this issue. Thanks.

My scion tc burns excessive engine oil. Toyota recommend oil change every 5k miles and at about 3-4k miles after an oil change, the oil is burnt so much to the point that when i check engine oil level it's well below the length of the dipstick and red oil low warning light on the dash comes on.this is extremely dangerous, if a car stalls in the middle of the highway due to engine failure with no oil, lives can be lost due to this type of accident.there is already a class action law suite against toyota on this. Instead of a mandatory recall, toyota says you have to do a test first before they're willing to repair for free. I went to dealership for the test and my car burns 0.6qt/1000miles. For the 5000mile oil change interval, my car would have burnt 3qts and keep in mind this engine is designed to hold only 4.5qts. The oil level would be too low to be shown on dipstick. Yet toyota refuse to do the repair claiming that within 1qt/1000mile is normal. Seriously? that would mean by 5k oil change is due the engine would have burnt all oil and bone dry.nhtsa, please make toyota pay for this. They are risking people's life just to save money on repair cost. Need help from government in this matter.

The engine was consuming oil at an alarmingly fast rate. Dealership insisted oil levels were ok when car was brought in to toyota dealership for all oil changes regularly. Now less than 115k miles and the engine is done and car is worthless. Dealership refuses to take responsibility for a known defect in the engine.

I always change my oils reguarlly. I can never make it to my next oil change, having to top off the oil every other week at least.

I purchased the car in oct, 2015. Around dec 2016 i noticed the car was burning oil at an unusual rate. April of 2017 i replaced the gaskets and a week later at only 850 miles the engine was bone dry, no oil at all. The oil light does not come on it will ony flicker for a second. I have almost blown my engine numerous times. I have had to pull into gas stations to put oil in just to make it home. Toyota is fully aware of the problem and has done nothing for the consumers. This will be a very expensive fix if we every figure out the problem. I've already spent $160 and the numerous oil changes.

Hi all,iam the owner of scion tc 2007 since 2015 and using this vehicle to commute to work and home. I have been experiencing massive amount of oil consumption right after i bought the car. I have to put 1 or 2 quart of synthetic oil after every 1500 miles or so, it cost me alot more than average. Please help me regarding this issue. Thanks and regards .ali

Regarding takata recall :hi,i am in need of some help! my 2007 toyota scion has been burning oil often where i am adding oil before oill changes also oil light never turns on even at no oil. My car has been burning over a quart of oil in 1,200 mile from drivingit. Now my engine light pops up! its scary to drive because i feel that at any day if i don't check my oil and it's low,my car will blow up! toyota needs to fix the problem with the scion cars. I am hoping i can get this fix , i don't have the money to pay for this recall prob that toyota has on this car. Looking for some help and answers. Thanks

My 2007 scion tc, is experiencing excessive oil consumption believed to be from defective piston rings designed by the manufacturer. This will inevitably lead to engine failure, and is already an extremely expensive fix. My car no longer falls under the standard toyota powertrain warranty (60 months / 60k miles). But has less than 85,000 miles on it. Toyota will do nothing to fix this problem that has affected multiple model/years of their cars with the engine 2az-fe.

Excessive oil consumption after 1000. Miles oil consumption test at caldwell toyota dealer.2 1/2/ quarts down. Then we were given a warranty enhancement notificationform to take to the dealer.the dealer said come back and we will do another oil consumption test in 1000 miles. This has been going on since summer of 2014.i hope the car doesn't burn up.please issue recall.they are getting away with not fixing the problem the first time. The notice said once there are enough parts then they will send out notices to fix the cars.ok now!!!

I purchased my car new from the dealership and my first oil changes i went to the dealership because of oil consumption and they said it was normal for the car to use 1 quart for every 1200 miles. Every mechanic i have spoken to said to me that is not normal for a new car used for daily driving. Now i'm at 73k miles and i have records of every oil change being done at every 3k miles and between oil changes i have to put in at least 4 to 5 quarts in between and now i have a rod knock sounds like a bearing due to no oil in the car when i checked right before my next oil change. I researched the internet and realized that this is very common and toyota is aware of the oil consumption issue on these engines but has not issues a recall just a tsb. Since the engine burned oil so that it was empty i believe thatis a product defect (covered under warranty) and the tsb shows that its a piston rod bearing issue in the 2az-fe engine. I also believe that toyota is taking advantage of the consumer by stating that it is normal to have 1quart of oil loss per every 600-1200 miles. That does not even make sense for a new car with a modern engine and its in the users manual. This is happening to alot of people and its between 50k to 100k miles when the warranty expires. Because of this the toyota dealership told me that i need a new engine and they wont help me. They are making money from this engine defect and are taking full advantage of it without placing a recall only a tsb. The engine in this car which is the 2az-fe has defective piston rings which causes the engine to burn an insanely amount of oil.i literally have to add at least a quart of oil a week and i been doing so two years already.i believe that's not normal at all. Contacted toyota to notify them about the issue, and claimed that 'vehicle was out of the 10 year or 150,000 mile warranty'.i'm so disappointed at toyota for that. They also had a period in which you could take your vehicle, but failed to notify their customers.

Vehicle burning oil at increasingly fast rate, large oil consumption.no oil light or dashboard warning. As i was driving down the highway my car shut down... I pulled over to the shoulder got out...my car was smoking... Within minutes my car was in flames.

I went to walmart to get a oil change, but they refused to change the oil because the oil stick wasn't registering any oil. I was told to add 2 qts. Of oil and then they would change the oil. I noticed recently that again my oil stick isn't registering any oil. I have no oil leaks or spills around my vehicle when i park.

Vehicle burning oil at increasingly fast rate, large oil consumption.no oil light or dashboard warning. The vehicle is in motion, this oil consumption will cause the car to overheat or stall, causing an accident or fire.

A recall was made for oil burning consumption, i brought the scion tc vehicle to hamer toyota in mission hills california. They said it was normal for the scion to burn between 1.5 to 2 quarts of oil within 1500 miles of travel. I believe that is wrong and incorrect. The car is not supposed to burn oil especially at that consumption amount. Yesterday the i we to change the oil at bohans auto shop, they said the car only had about one quart of oil in the car. They said car is not supposed to burn oil.

We purchased a 2007 scion tc for our son.we have had no problem with the car and we were unaware of the toyota reports on it.we have had the car serviced and have records.he was driving home from work and without warning his engine blew.i learned about the oil consumption problem on the car so we had it towed to our local dealership and checked.they felt thatthe problem was part of the oil consumption problem and sent the information up the stream for it to be denied by the warranty person who made his decision based on a couple of pictures and the fact that the car was not bone dry from oil.it showed all the damage of a vechile with oil consumption problem.they have now denied my claim again and still the person that is making the decision did not send the field rep to look at the car.we are loyal toyota owner and currently own 5.we have never ever been so disappointed in the way a situation was handled.my son could have been serious injured if he was not able to get off of the busy highway in time.he had no warning.i have be doing my research and have learned the scope of the problem and toyota, know the scope is trying to sweep it under the rug.i still owe 2 years of payments on this car and they would like me to pay $6200 to replace my engine.it has definitely been identified as an engine problem and they are making more money on a problem that they caused.i noticed that there are 2 class action suits against them for the problem because it is so big.please issue a recall so that all of us involved can drive safely in the cars that we work hard to pay for.

I do 3000 mile oil changes regularly i've noticed before the 3000 miles i've needed to add 2 quarts of oil before every oil change i see this is a problem with the scion tcs is there a way of fixing this i have 160635 miles on the car

There is a terrible oil consumption problem with this car. My daughter's engine blew up because of it. If you do not plan on checking your oil every singleday.do not buy this car. All i could get from anyone is that i was supposed to take it to the dealer with an oil problem. I am not a mechanic how the heck would i know that? be forewarned....and i am a toyota buyer through and through, i might sell my cars after this.

I have driven 1270 mile since my last oil change. My oil light doesn't come on and stay on when the oil is low or empty. It will give a quick flash. When i checked it today, 1/27/17 it was 2 1/2 quarts low. The car only holds 3 quarts. When i took it in about 4 weeks ago for its regular change there was no oil in it at all.i could have blown my engine because i didn't know! the light doesn't come on. It has been checked for leaks and there are none. It has been made clear that i have to do an oil change ever 1200 miles not the normal 3000. This issue is unsafe because i can be driving and without warning blow my engine.

I took my car into an auto shop due to a strange scratching/ticking noise coming from my engine compartment. That is when i was informed that my engine was 2 quarts low on oil. I had just had an oil change done 1,000 miles prior, the mechanics told me that my car shouldn't be burning that much oil and that in the current condition my engine isn't going to last much longer. Now because of that i have drive chain problems and really bad blow by coming from my engine due to lack of lubrication. No engine at 115,000 miles should be consuming 2 quarts of oil every 1,000 miles. What is toyota doing about this issue are they going to recall 2007 scion tc engines because i know from reading the complaints my engine is not the only one that has extremely bad oil consumption which leads me to believing this is on toyota's manufacturing not the drivers maintenance.

On december 15, 2008 i parked my car outside of a shop in md and within 10 minutes of returning, i saw white, electrical smoke rising from under the hood. During this time the vehicle was off.as i walked to my vehicle several witnesses and the mall security had arrived and were ready with a fire extinguisher. I opened my hood and suddenly the entire engine burned in flames and almost burned several people including myself.this incident did not burn the vehicle but only the engine and it was reported to toyota/scion within 30 minutes of the fire.toyota did very little to investigate the cause of the fire and over 20 days later, while my vehicle is under warranty, sent me a letter saying "the cause of the fire was not from a manufacture defect". They did not give a reason for the cause of the fire and has not done anything else about it.also, the vehicle was 100% toyota stock with all wiring, electrical, and even the brake pads were original.

Purchase pre-certified/pre-owned scion toyota, 2007, with 40,000 miles on may 12, 2010 and on may 25, 2010 oil light began to blink, lost power and control of car on busy rainy road and car stalled, putting my life at risk.burning smell and brakes & steering wheel locked in middle of road. Updated 06/03/10the consumer stated the vehicle is currently in the shop with serious engine damage. Updated ivoq 06/07/10

Pushed the cigarette lighter in doing 80 mph down the interstate.a few moments later it shot out of the plug and went flying through the car.tested it later in parked position and it continues to launch hot lighter into car.burned as a result of malfunction.

At approximately 56k miles radio lighting, temperature control lights went out.the engine maintenance light starting coming on at about 60k miles and after having the car checked it was determined that the fuel/oxygen sensor was not operating properly so i had it replaced. The light went off for approximately 200miles then came back on. I took it to two different maintenance places and it was determined the serpentine belt needed to be replaced. I had it replaced. The maintenance person drove the car for a week approximately 125 miles. The light went remained off. I brought the car home and two days later the light was back on and is still on.i called the scion headquarters 1-866-707-2466 and was told the only thing i could do was take it to a dealership. I was told the three places i had taken my car to were probably misdiagnosing the problem and only a toyota dealership could properly diagnose any issues i had with my car.i would like to know if this is the case...why are so many places equipped with these computers if they are not working properly?????

The contact owns a 2007 toyota scion tc. The contact stated that while driving 65 mph the sunroof was open and it shattered. The vehicle was taken to the dealer but they have they were unable to diagnose the failure. The latch on the vehicle was also broken. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 63,915.

The contact owns a 2007 toyota scion tc. While the vehicle was parked the contact pulled on the trunk handle to open it and the handle detached. The wires that connected the handle to the vehicle were not in place to ensure that the handle would remain attached to the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 61,000.

I purchased a used 2007 scion tc on labor day 2010.i noticed that the trunk latch cover was a little flimsy for such an important, commonly used part of the car.during the colder months, opening the trunk was a delicate procedure because often i felt the cover would break from just trying to open the trunk.on 2/27/11 my 13yr old son opened the trunk after i had just shut it to put in his luggage and the cover ripped on the left side running diagonally all the way to the top, leaving only the thin molding strip to secure it in place.i was about to rip the whole thing off so it wouldn't fall off while driving, when i noticed that the latch mechanism was attached to it.i also noticed that the clips that keep it attached on the right side had broken, so i couldn't just push it back into place.like many others on this forum, i used clear packing tape to secure it in place, taking care not to get it on any other part of the car where it would damage the paint.it seems unbelievable to me that for a part that is seemingly so fragile and easy to break that 1. There are barely any used parts to replace it 2. Very few sites that even sell it and 3. That this kind of thing wouldn't be covered under warranty, considering the many number of forums i've seen with owners complaining about the same thing.i think i will look into some type of epoxy and pray that it will pass inspection in august.glad to know that i'm not the only one who apparently doesn't know how to open a trunk.

Trunk latch broke off. I have seen many cars with tape holding it back on. I used gorilla. It doesn't look the best but toyota wanted to charge 150.00 just for the part.

I just purchased my 2007 scion tc five days ago. And last night (day 4) as i went to manually lift up the trunk from the handle area the whole area popped off car!i was not using excessive force of any kind. I own a 2007 scion tc. When i went to open my trunk the handle and the part around it completely came off. Is this covered by insurance because it is definitely a defect that i did not cause.

My trunk latch panel broke off when i tried to open the trunk. I discovered the panel was being held on by a flimsy plastic piece that appears to have dry rotted or something. I have also noticed many scion tc models around town that has the same problem. If so many people are having the same exact problem, there should be a recall.

Excessive oil consumption

Vehicle burning oil at increasingly fast rate, large oil consumption.no oil light or dashboard warning. The vehicle is in motion, this oil consumption will cause the car to overheat or stall, causing an accident or fire.

2007 scion tc standard automatic. The rpm will decrease by about 2 numbers randomly while driving. Speed does not seem to be a factor. Happens about every other day. This in turn causes my car to slow down when i do not want it to. Is an issue when i am driving on the interstate in heavy traffic.

The clutch assembly wore down prematurely and began to slip in every gear but first.the symptoms were sudden and immediately noticeable.i brought the vehicle to be inspected by the dealership from which it had been purchased. I was told the entire assembly needed to be replaced, but it was not covered under warranty because clutches are subject to "normal" wear and tear.i commute 70 miles every day under highway driving conditions and do very little stop-and-go driving. I also do not engage in driving habits conducive to excessive "wear and tear" on a clutch which would cause premature failure.as such, i consider it more likely that the parts were faulty.

I was driving down the highway in my 2007 scion tc and the car popped out of gear and began to rev-up.i then tried to put it back into gear and it was very loose and would not go. My mechanic told me the top of the shifter base broke off and must be a defect. This is very dangerous and must be investigated.

My daughter was driving her car down the highway when the car went off the road and rolled at least 3 times her seatbelt did not lock her into place causing her to hit her head numerous time during the crash.she died at the scene of blunt force trauma to the head with over 15 cuts and bruises to her head and face.this car was never safety tested for rollovers and the seatbelts only meet minimum requirements, if the car would have had the pretension installed on the seatbelt to lock her into place my daughter would still be alive. There were four other passengers in her car and their seatbelts all locked and they only had minor injuries compared to my daughter and they all lived. This car needs to be recalled and the seatbelts need to be fixed before someone else dies.## vin passed ## toyota scion tc 2007 ##

This event happen 2 times in the 3years i've owned the car, the 1st incident was 2009 while i was parking my car in a wendys lot. While slowing down to park the car accelerated in the parking spot and while slamming my foot on the brakes it finally stopped but on top parking concrete stopper (not sure about name and also on top of the side walk. The second incident just happen today (5/5/10) while leaving work. As i was backing the car up and getting out the parking spot i put the car in drive and it accelerated forward before putting my foot on the gas, i then again banged my foot on the gas and made sure i was pressing the brake and the car kept on accelerating into a parked car and i was then able to put the car in park. The first time the incident happen i was in denial and second guessing my own driving so i paid to get the front bumper replaced. This is the second time this has happen and i reported the incident to my insurance. Not to mention when i first purchased my scion i had spoke to them about my brakes grinding with in the first 1000 miles , they looked at it and told me everything has checked out. I have since dealt with the problem by allowing myself to be prepared ahead of time to stop. I have also had my brakes replaced which in turn didn't sold the grinding. In the snow my car barely even stops.

Brake failure to stop in uneven pavement, happen more than three times. Brake was check by a dealer and was found ok. File a complaint with scion.

My wife's 2007 scion tc bought brand new from wondries toyota in alhambra ca. My wife had three incidents where the brakes just wouldn't engage and felt "flat". First incident happened back in february 2008, second incident happened march 2008 and the third in november 2009. Luckily my wife drives slow. The car was driven in the los angeles area when this happened (not in cold climates). Took it to toyota, got charged on the inspection but "couldn't find anything wrong" according to the service department (yet still being charged a fee). I had since filed a complaint with the better business bureau (complaint id: 98471676), toyota wondries dealership and also toyota america head quarters but all resulted in vain. It would have been nice for toyota to admit their flawed design and fix the problem since we are talking about human lives here.

My brakes fail to work on bumpy or slippery roads. When i press down on the brake pedal they start to shake and the car does not stop. I have noticed if i press the brake harder in those situations i'm able to gain control of the car once again. I have taken my vehicle to the car dealer and they tell me my brakes are fine that they are just worn down, but after replacing the brake pads the problem still happened. This hasn't caused an accident yet but it happens all the time i have had the luck to gain control of the car . My most recent incident was on february 3, 2010, the road was bumpy and wet and i was doing 25 mph. As i went to press down on the brake it started to shake and the car did not stop until i pressed harder down on the brake where i gained control once again. This has happened at least 1 to 2times a month since i have had the vehicle and every time i take it to a repair shop all they tell me is that my brakes are worn out.

Driving on dry road at approx. 35 mph began braking to make turn into a parking lot.road surface was somewhat rough but not extremely. Brakes failed to respond so i pushed pedal to the floor and they gradually slowed the car. I was not driving at an excessive speed nor being careless. As i turned into the parking lot at an excessive speed i almost hit a vehicle that was waiting to pull out on to the highway. Due to traffic conditions and the shock of what was happening i could not safely change my direction of travel and was committed to completing the turn into the parking lot.

Brakes won't work sometimes.feels mushy with no pressure at times, especially on hard braking and have to apply brakes a couple of times before any pressure is felt.first occurred some time in the summer of 2008.had the brake fluid flushed to make sure there were no air bubbles in system.dealers doesn't want to look at brake systems under warranty, because the excuse is, "issue can't be reproduced".no leaks indicated from brake master cylinder and brake pads are still good.brakes still feels no pressure from time to time, usually during the summer temperatures, probably 3 to 4 times during the summers especially when the temperature is high >90f.

Driving straight at approx 40 mph steering wheel pulled hard to the right. Unable to turn it back and lost control of car totaled. Crashed into a tree. Saw newspaper article about another accident with same description and fatality in miami herald on 9/9/07.thought it could have been mechanical failure - this should be checked to make sure it is not coincidence before someone else is injured or killed.updated 12/12/07

While driving on the florida turnpike, my scion tc 2007 violently swerved left hitting the center divider.this caused the car to bank off the center divider and proceed with a 180% turn across the turnpike ending in the slow lane facing oncoming traffic.from there a motorcycle hit and totaled the scion vehicle.upon exiting the car i noticed that the tie rod which allowed the wheel to be controlled by the steering wheel had popped off, causing the accident.the car remains with the insurance company awaiting a more detailed inspection.

I just purchased my 2007 scion tc five days ago. And last night (day 4) as i went to manually lift up the trunk from the handle area the whole area popped off car!i was not using excessive force of any kind. I know the vehicle was not like this prior because i had just been to the grocery store the previous night.luckily i was just leaving my parents house when this happened so i was able to quick fix it with some clear packaging tape. But now it looks very tacky and cheap. Since i live in las vegas, nv. I don't think that this will be an adequate long term solution because of the extreme temperature changes & rains.

Driving 45 mph at night, heard a loud crack, pulled over and found the wind deflector had shattered(seems like it was struck by a small rock?).fragments of deflector glass were missing, but thankfully it doesn't seem like any cars behind were hit with the fragments.took it to the dealership after a week when being ignored by email and phone, both sent me in a loop(parts dept tells me it's cover under warranty and sends me to service dept, service dept said it is not cover in the warranty and sends me back to the parts dept), they were trying to ignored the issue, and didn't bother to try and help fix the failure.said the recall affected 05-06 models only so any similar issues with 07 is not covered.called a 2nd dealership about costs estimates, same loop.it was very difficult to get hold of the information to fix this, eg. Parts and labor cost.

Windshield is cracking under normal circumstances.

Plastic cover on hatch lever which contains lighting broke off while opening hatchback.

The rear hatch is poorly designed and has broken off under normal wear and tear. This is a known issue with this model vehicle and should be covered.

After opening the trunk of my 2007 toyota scion tc multiple times it gave in and broke off. The wires for the trunk are still attached and functioning but the foot long plastic piece was dangling from my car. My temporary fix is duct tape, which isn't very appealing. I have had it come un-done a few times because the duct tape doesn't hold for very long. I went to a toyota dealership, who were going to order the piece for my car but they never called me back to tell me if the part came in or not so i decided, why bother, if they don't want my business.

The rear door handle of my 2007 scion tc snapped off when i opened it one day. This is poorly made and needs to be recalled.

The rear hatch handle garnish broke off.

I was unable to open the hatch.when pulled on it for the second time it broke off.

Vehicle burning oil at increasingly fast rate, large oil consumption.no oil light or dashboard warning. As i was driving down the highway my car shut down... I pulled over to the shoulder got out...my car was smoking... Within minutes my car was in flames.

I woke up this morning and saw my glass wind deflector shattered into many pieces. Im worried that if i open it, glass will fall on over me. I brought it to the dealership and they said a little rock hit it which caused it to shattered. They wanted to charge me over $400. But if i get it fixed, it will be likely to happen again.the previous model had a recalled with the same problem and it was being fixed for free. How come are they trying to charge me? the laminated tape doesn't go across the whole glass wind deflector. The laminated tape doesn't prevent the glass from cracking so therefore it will happen again and if i was driving while it was up. I'm more likely to get injured.

While driving at highway speeds (65 mph), i heard a loud "pop" followed by glass raining down around me. I pulled over and examined my car to find the perimeter of the sunroof entirely missing and the interior portion of the sunroof shattered. There were large chunks of glass inside the car along with pieces of metal. The sunroof was open at the time. The temperature was in the low 70s. There were no overpasses nor were there any trucks around me. There was no impact mark on the glass to indicate road debris.

While pushing in on liftgate release button and raising hatch, the entire plastic piece containing the release button broke off the hatch.

I had someone run into the side of me when i took my vehicle into be repaired the body shop told me i had an extremely dangerous situation where the hood needs replaced. The body shop called it a striker. It has come unwelded from the actual hood. Unfortunately i do not have the money to replace the hood. I have checked online and found several complaints about this same situation. I believe scion needs to fix this issue as it could result in a major crash if the hood were to fly up or off and i would kill myself or someone else. I have taken my vehicle in on schedule for maintenance and never was this mentioned to me.

My trunk latch panel broke off when i tried to open the trunk. I discovered the panel was being held on by a flimsy plastic piece that appears to have dry rotted or something. I have also noticed many scion tc models around town that has the same problem. If so many people are having the same exact problem, there should be a recall.

Recall on faulty parts (pistons) creating my car to burn oil to where i have to add oil almost every 1000 miles or get my oil changed.when i tried to contact a toyota dealer in reference to the recall i received a runaround for months until they told me my car no longer fell under the warranty because it was 2k miles over the warranty criteria.

My trunk release broke recently (1/25/19) as i was attempting to open the trunk.contacted dealership and was told toyota was aware of defective part and had offered a warranty enhancement on the trunk release but it expired in 2015.i received no notification.called toyota today and was told they couldn't do anything for me, either.was given case #1902062093.if part was defective and they were aware of it i shouldn't be expected to pay $666.90 for replacement just because my trunk release didn't break sooner.i have always had issues with the trunk as it didn't open consistently.if i had received a notification from toyota in 2013 as this was apparently when notices were sent out, i certainly would have had it replaced.if toyota is aware of a defective part, no time limit should exist to have it replaced, especially if the current owner is also the original owner.the trunk release was dangling by the wires, and is being held in place with several industrial strength magnets.obviously i am unable to access the trunk until i shell out an exorbitant amount of cash to fix it.i realize this issue isn't as serious as brakes, tires, etc but i feel toyota has an obligation to make good on defective parts.the trunk release is a plastic part on an otherwise all metal car which makes no sense in the first place.

Sudden acceleration 2007 scion.i had 2 accidents within 3 months caused by a sudden acceleration.

My 2007 scion tc has a brake, acceleration problem...3 times while sitting in traffic with the brakes on,the car has surged or lunged forward with the engine revving like crazy.i am very scared to drive it , now!

My daughter pedal stuck to the floor of her 2007 scion in 2009 of last year. I can provide the date of the incident. She was driving normal speed in corona california down hidden valley parkway. She tried to stop the car but the pedal was stuck & the rug mat always gave us problems with this fairly new vehicle. She was unable to stop at plowed in to the car at a higher speed due to the petal stuck and going in a downhill descend. As a result of the pedal/mat malfunction. She hit the vehicle at the light at a non-extreme speed but was not able to stop. The air bags did not deploy and she had hit the gentlemen in a truck in front of us. The corona police took the incident report down. The officer said it was amazing that she not injured too bad, but emotionally she was a mess. The whole front in of the vehicle came right into herfront seat & passenger seat. The airbags did not deploy at all. She was only injured slightly with a couple days off from school. Myself from work to attend to her pain. I was not in the vehicle. My daughter's car was totaled & the collision center, the insurance company filed the report of the stuck pedal(accelerator). I complained to toyota> i also was concerned about the incident. This incident happened prior to the recall but is too much of a co-incident. My daughter is a good driver. She complained of the pedal but i did not thank that it was going to be a safety issue. I have since then settled with the insurance company for the payment to purchase a new car. We bought another scion tc this time 2009. Now this car is better in the pedal area but still has a delay with the braking system and pulls to the left slightly. I am filing a complaint because the initial toyota was totaled due to a stuck pedal. This is before any recall or deaths occurred but several of my friends , colleagues are telling me to file the complaint for investigation to see why this failure occurred. I was only able to correct the failure with a new car. Than.

Leicester, mass. -- police say it appears the four teenagers who were killed in a car crash in leicester were wearing their seat belts, as was the lone survivor.leicester police chief jim hurley says neither alcohol nor drugs was a factor in the crash.hurley estimates the 2007 toyota scion was traveling about 75 miles-an-hour on a residential street in the central massachusetts town late friday night. He said the car veered out of control and hit the tree. Killed were the driver nathan plaza, 17, of leicester -- and three passengers bryan rossik, 17, of leicester, julianne caron, 18, of north brookfield and courtney butcher, 18, of worcester.seventeen-year-old lauren bennett remains in critical condition.

Monterey park -- a young woman was killed and a young man was badly injured late thursday in a single car crash on atlantic boulevard, police said.jasmine alexi garcia, 19, of los angeles died in the crash, los angeles county department of coroner assistant chief ed winter said.the crash occurred just before midnight in the 700 block of atlantic boulevard, monterey park police officials said in a written statement.garcia was a passenger in the car, officials said, and the driver, a 19-year-old man, was hospitalized in an intensive care unit.the investigation was ongoing, however officials said it initially appeared the 2007 scion was southbound at high speed just prior to the crash."the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing the vehicle to traverse all the lanes of traffic in an eastbound direction," according to the police statement. "the vehicle then collided with a tree."monterey park firefighters used the "jaws of life" to free garcia and the driver from the wreckage, police said.the woman was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said, and the driver was taken to los angeles county--usc medical center for treatment.the traffic investigators handling the investigation could not be reached for comment friday.

I own a 2007 scion tc and i was driving at approximately 35 mph on a business district street in the city when i heard a loud gunshot-type sound and the sound of broken glass on the roof of my car.i pulled over at the next intersection and saw that the front section of the glass panoramic roof had shattered and some of the metal parts of the assembly were knocked out of place.the wind deflector was also in the up position and parts of that assembly looked to be possibly damaged as well, although the sunroof had been completely closed at the time.there did not seem to be an impact to the roof glass by any object, and upon inspection the shattered glass looked as if it had exploded upward and the edges of the glass had cracked and broken away as if under stress from the outer edges.went to the dealer, they said they had never seen anything like this before.manager (service or general, not sure) declares nothing they can do as the car is out of warranty:purchased 4+ yrs ago but only 22,500 mi at time of incident.car is not drivable with this damage so i filed a claim with my auto insurance, who declares this is not considered glass breakage (i.e. Windshield) so i must pay $500 deductible toward $892 for repair and replacement.i feel this is either a design flaw or glass defect and constitutes a serious safety issue which should be corrected by the manufacturer as well as reimburse me and my insurance company for all repair costs (my deductible and the portion paid by my insurance company including the rental car while my car was out of service to me).honestly, i would prefer if this were caused simply by impact with an object, because under these circumstances i don't know that will feel safe in this car any more or confident that it won't happen again, perhaps resulting in more serious damage or even injury.i have contacted the manufacturer directly with my concerns, waiting for a response.

Sunroof shattered while driving.the sunroof was in the open position with windows up.smooth, paved road with no vehicles in front or behind that could have kicked up road debris.while examining the shattered sunroof, no marks were noticed that would indicate the sunroof being struck by a foreign object.the wind deflector shows no signs of any type of damage.both the driver and 6-year old passenger received minor scrapes and cuts due to glass falling into the interior of the vehicle.

The contact owns a 2007 scion tc. The contact stated while driving approximately 60-65 mph, there was a loud noise which sounded like a gunshot; and then suddenly the sunroof exploded. The sunroof was closed when the failure occurred. The vehicle wasnot inspected or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The current and failure mileages were approximately 120,000.

While driving home on 1-16-09, my sunroof just exploded.i was driving about 45 mph, with no cars in front of me or behind me when i heard the loud explosion.i got out of the car and looked at my sunroof.all four corners were completely busted out.the middle was completely intact, but shattered throughout with no signs of impact.my sunroof deflector however was in the up position as if i was trying to open the sunroof.but that wasn't the case since it had been raining earlier in the day and it was 44 degrees out side and i was a mile away from home.i have an 100,000 mile warranty on the car and the dealership i took it to said i'm out of my warranty even though i show him my paper work.they said it is inlined with a rubber seal so that it couldn't just shatter.looking on the internet at several message boards, i have read several complaints about the same issues.

I was driving to work at 6 am on an interstate going 65 mph. When i heard a large "boom" sound. I felt a large rush of air and glass began to fall on me. (it was sunny and approximately 40 degrees). My all of my windows, including the sunroof, were all closed at the time of this explosion.this sound was a result of my sunroof exploding from the inside out. I immediately pulled over and checked for debris, or anything that may of caused this to happen. I found nothing. There was no other drivers around me, and no overpass i drove under.when looking at the car from the outside, the (front) sunroof looked like a volcano, rising up from the car with jagged edges around it.there is no possible explanation of why this happened!!i noticed that many other complaints from scion owners had the same occurrence with their sunroofs.i took the car to a certified toyota dealer, and the service manager spent the day investigating the cause of this sudden explosion.all mechanisms associated with the sunroof were working properly and were not defected.after my experience and reading the experiences of other scion owners, i am concerned of why this hasn't been addressed by toyota or the nhtsa?the noise of this incident caused my to swerve and panic. It was a very scary situation and could've led to an accident, injury or death of myself and/or other motorists.why was the glass not safety glass? what would cause this to happen to a sunroof with no apparent cause? i was very lucky that i nor anyone else was not injured from this occurrence. Please investigate this matter!thank you!

Shortly after returning home my 2007 scion tc sunroof shattered without warning while parked in my driveway. I called a policeman to take a look and discovered there was no sign of impact, only shattered around the edges and the wind deflector was in the up position even though i did not open the sunroof. The center started to bulge upward before cracking and falling into the interior. Car has less than 26,000 miles so i took pictures and took it to the dealer. Dealer would not cover the damage as warranty repair and suggested i go through insurance. Other owners having the same complaint and this safety issue needs to be addressed.

Windshield is cracking under normal circumstances.

The temperature was about 50 degrees and sunny i had just left church services so the car had been sitting out in the parking lot for about 4 hours. I was in the car doing about 40 mph and i heard a pop-like that of a champagne bottle- and what sounded like sand on the floor. I looked around to make sure a bug or reptile hadn't gotten into my car. I didn't think anything about it. This morning 12/3/2014 temperature around 43 degrees and noticed that my glass wind deflector what shattered around the edges. I've never had any issues with the car and i live in a gate community so i didn't think that it was an act of vandalism. I spent 3 years in alaska and i know what frozen glass could do if exposed to direct extreme heat. This was not the case. I am looking into getting it replaced but judging from the forums and this site doesn't seem like toyota will cover my 2007 scion tc which i think is a very dishonorable thing to do. Many tc owners are having a time with vehicles that have incurred this issue that they didn't cause and couldn't prevent.

Went to open driver side door when i heard a popping sound. Turned to see the hatchback glass crack and spider with a collapse in the center of the window. Temperature was 57 degrees at 7 pm. Defrost, a/c and heating were not being used at the time. No projectiles or bullets were found inside car. Crack started at top left corner, made its way across the top of the hatch and then crack down into the center of window. No cracks or chips had been noticeable to myself or others. Car was purchased mid august and has been garaged since date of purchase. Have found similar instances on website forums with other toyota models as well as scion tc.

I was driving on the highway at approximately 65mph with my sunroof in the slightly lifted position only and all other windows closed.out of nowhere there was a loud noise that sounded like a gunshot and we saw shattered glass from my sunroof flying out first and then shattering down onto myself, my adult passenger, her 1 year old daughter that was in her car seat in the back as well as on our two small dogs.when we pulled over and got out of the car, we had to shake glass from our clothing and hair as well as carefully remove it from our seats and all over everywhere else and then very carefully remove glass from covering the baby and the our dogs in the back seat.we are all lucky we were not injured from the flying glass. We then had to carefully remove the remaining loose chunks of glass from the roof so they wouldn't fall down on us and what remained was just the outer portion of the glass and a giant hole.this was a very scary incident and could have caused serious harm if the sudden noise caused me to swerveinto something or another vehicle.upon reading numerous reports, i have yet to see toyota step up and make it right, but i intend to fight and get them to recall and fix the scion sunroofs!

My daughter was able to purchase her dream car, a scion tc, a few months ago, and as she was returning home from oc, md, on 18 jul 13, she heard what sounded like a gunshot and saw something fly off her car so pulled over to discover her sunroof had exploded (sunroof was closed as it was hot and she was using ac)...she was 1-1/2 hr away from home. As she tried to locate a vacuum cleaner to clean out the glass inside her car, she realized pieces of glass were breaking loose from her sunroof and flying behind so she pulled over again and literally had to wrap her sunroof in a towel to keep herself and other motorist safe. I contacted the dealership and they would not accept it as being defective...claimed something had to have fallen and hit her sunroof for this to happen. Contact has been made to insurance for a claim, but after reading all the blogs, i will pursue toyota to replace this at their cost as it seems to be a recurring issue with this vehicle. Primary buyers of these vehicles are the younger generation and it sickens me to know toyota is not stepping up to the plate and recalling them to correct the problem and keep the drivers and surrounding motorist safe. I am on my second toyota tacoma, have always deemed toyota as economical and safe vehicles; however, depending on how this ordeal is handled, will determine how faithful of a customer i am in the future!

I took the car out to my friend's house. I parked the car, went into the house. I stayed for about four hours and went to go leave and noticed glass all over the place. I went to my car and realized that the sunroof had exploded. Two of the metal bars popped off along with most of the glass. The remaining glass was spidered. I saw the car at approximatly one hour before it happened and it was fine. Because of the location of the car and the house and the people in the house i am 100% sure that nobody tampered with my car. The shade on the interior was closed and you could see that the glass exploded from the inside out. I am sure this was a defect in the sunroof.

While driving approximately 55 mph the contact heard a loud sound similar to a gun shot on the outside of the vehicle.after examining the vehicle, the contact noticed that the sunroof and metal support bars had fallen inside of the vehicle. The failure mileage was 18,000 and the current mileage was 20,000. Updated 5/10/10 updated 05/14/10.

The 2005 and 2006 scion tc were recalled for a defect in the wind deflector where a piece of debris hit the wind deflector at highway speeds and it would shatter.i just bought a 2007 scion tc last tuesday and it did the same exact thing.i was on the freeway and i did not even see anything hit my car but i heard something, and then there was glass coming into my car through the sunroof.i have contacted scion and they had said my car is not included in the recall and to take it into the dealership.the dealership said it is not a warranted part.i should contact the parts director and he has not called me since.

I was driving down the freeway going 65 mph. All of the sudden i heard a really loud gunshot sound and then the middle of the sunroof exploded. All the windows, including the sunroof, were closed. I only had the visor open; when the glass broke, i had glass in my hair and all down my back. When the sunroof broke, the front piece of the sunroof flipped open as well. Looks like some took their fist and hit the sunroof from the inside of the car. The right side of my ear still hurts from the sound of the gun shot sound. My car is currently with the dealership for them to inspect it. When i called the dealership and scion corp office, they both said they have never heard of this happening on this vehicle. I find this very hard to believe as there are hundreds of postings online stating that this is becoming more and more of an issue. I thank god that my 4 year son wasn't with me at the time as glass would have gone all over him. I want scion to pay for this damage as this is a huge safety issue. I could have caused an accident or even have killed myself as glass went everywhere. Does someone need to be killed in order for someone to look at this issue? thank you in advance for your time and help with this matter.

The rims on my scion/toyota are cracking are causing the tires to leak air. I contacted scion/toyota back in february 2011 about these rims cracking and was informed that they are not covered under warranty.goodyear suggested that i contact mason welding company to have the wheels welded. I had to again replace the tires from goodyear because they were worn on the inside.goodyear did stand behind the warranty on the tires but shortly after the rim starting leaking air again and my daughter got a flat tire.i was again informed that the rims were leaking. She when to firestone, andagain was told that the rims were causing the tires to leak air. I had to have the rims welded again.i went to south caroline, where my daughter goes to college to bring her home.i drove the car back and now the rims are leaking again. I cannot believe that scion/toyota can offer these wheels and then not assume any responsibly.this is very dangerous to have theserims on the road if they continue to cause the tires to go flat.i need your assistance in this matter, as i feel this is a major safety issue to have cars on the road that the rims are not strong enough to with stand our roadways.

Car purchased with 61 miles on 2/18/2007. During driving at 50 mph on the highway encountered a piece of wood, approx. 2"x4"x12". Unavoidably ran over wood and got a flat tire. Took vehicle to a tire shop on 2/25/07 with 560 miles on it and they saw no tire damage, no vehicle damage, but the wheel was cracked along the seam. Toyota of el cajon, ca denied warranty coverage saying it was due to an impact, even though they admittedly noticed that it looked like a possible defect in the wheel. Vehicle is a 07 scion tc.
