Saturn vue is prone to premature transmission failure. *njthe consumer stated the transmission made a grinding noise right before the vehicle stopped. The consumer also stated while the vehicle was at the dealer for transmission repairs, the engine locked up.

The consumer took the vehicle to the dealer and upon their review and test drive, she was informed it was likely a transmission issue.the consumer then went to a transmission specialist and was told the vehicle would need a new transmission at a cost of over $5,000. The consumer learned via the internet that gm had been involved in and lost a class action suit in the spring of 2009. Saturn vue owners were told there was a defect with the transmission which also included the consumers vehicle, however she never received any information regarding the defect.
