While i am driving i have had intermittent incidents that cannot be replicated. "stabilitrak" warning light has not turned off. I have lost control of my vehicle while driving twice but was able to pull over after a few seconds. The vehicle will lose power to the dash. When i am turning the steering wheel gets very hard to turn and will turn off the radio. This will cause the car to loose power while driving. Then when i turn the car off i will be unable to get the key out or turn the vehicle on. I will have to restart the vehicle. I have replaced the battery twice and the alternator twice and this helped for 2 months then the problem persisted. I also replaced the wheel sensors to no avail. I have taken to 3 mechanics but they cannot replicate the issue.when the vehicle is in park, i will try to turn the vehicle on and then just tap on the brain compartment above the battery and sometimes this works. I have been left stranded more than i care to admit. While driving if the issues are really bad and if i have to drive long distance i will try to use cruise controll but it will not engage.

Vehicle (2009 saturn vue) was travelling southbound through an intersection and was struck on the rear passenger side, by another vehicle (traveling eastbound) who did not stop for a red light.after being struck the saturn veered toward the southwest corner where it road up a snowbank and then hit a telephone pole on the front drivers quarter/drivers door.the side airbag did not deploy, and the driver suffered a concussion when her head struck the interior of the vehicle.

2009 saturn vue. Driver statesthe engine stalled repeatedly, keys became stuck in ignition and the airbag and stability lights came on. *ta

Takata recall. I haven't received notification to replace my takata airbags but all other makes and models of cars and trucks have received their recalls. I want my takata airbags replaced.

Takata recalli have been getting a "service air bag" indicator.it seems to happen every day when the temperature is extremely hot over 100 degrees. On cooler days, i do not get the indicator light. When it is hot, the light comes on immediately when i start my car.if i drive a distance with the air on, it goes off.this started happening over a month ago.i went to a dealer and they charged me $105 to run a diagnostic test.they said something needs replacing and will cost me $495.i heard from a family member who worked for gm that because this is a safety issue, i should not have to pay for this.is this true?

It seems like it's still having some problems due to the recalls..the air bag light is on and the tire sensor light is on..

I was hit on driver side door..high speed impact.. Fire dept needed to use jaws of life to get me out.. I was unconscious and taken to trauma..no airbags deployed..hits were also noted to front panel and rear..car was totaled.

Driving vehicle around 55mph veered off onto loose gravel. Hit a drain culvert flew into the air, slammed down into a ditch, and hit several cut telephone poles used as landscape decorations with no front air bag deployment. Received medical attention and filed police reports.

Left passenger door will not unlock or lock with remote or with switch via car interior. Advised to replace door actuator. Once the left side was repaired under extended warranty the right passenger rear door is now non operational with the same problem. Vehicle is out of warranty. Door lock failures are not safe. If there is an accident someone could be ejected if the doors do not lock property.

Car would not start, when you put the key in the ignition will not start.after several attempts you can finally get it to connect.this is an ongoing issue i have had the car in the garage several times.i have been stranded three times in the last six months.it doesn't happen all the time and never happens when the garage has the vehicle.the last time was on saturday 5/18/2014 the only way i could get the vehicle to start was to put it in neutral and turn the steering column, then when it would go back to the straight position the vehicle would stop again.after about five times trying it this way i left the wheels turned all the way to the left and put the vehicle into gear and made a u turn and keep going to home.i am afraid to try this car for fear it will cut out and someone will run into me.

As of the beginning of last yr. My saturn has been giving me trouble with the key not coming out of the ignition when i turn offthe engine. I have try a number of things. Ex; turn engine back on & turn the wheel to the left & then to the right. Also i'll shift the trans from p to d & back. It seems to be something in the lock or what ever controls the trans. That sends a signal when ignition is off so you can turn the key all the way to the off positionto release the key . My 1st yr i had no problems. Other than this key situation i have had a good ride with this vehicle. ...updated 07-24-13 the consumer stated as of 07/12/13 the shift assembly was replaced to correct the key situation. At the present time, there were no more problems with removing the key.

The contact owns a 2009 saturn vue hybrid. While driving 65 mph and exiting the freeway, the vehicle lost power steering and would not slow down when the brake pedal was depressed. The check engine, brake and abs lights illuminated. The contact pulled over but the vehicle would not restart after being turned off. The vehicle was towed to an authorized dealer where the contact was informed that the hybrid battery needed to be replaced; the vehicle had not been repaired as the parts were on backorder. The contact called the manufacturer who offered no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 19,000.

The lights (courtesy lights, dash, and headlights) on my vehicle were flickering. While driving, i began to notice a burning smell. I thought that it was coming from outside, but rolling down the windows did not help. After a few minutes, i saw smoke coming from the driver's side visor area. I had the car towed to a dealership and they stated that there was an electrical short in the wiring harness about the headliner that goes into the sunshade.

The wiring harness to the passenger side head light keeps melting, causing me to loose the use of that headlight.i have already repaired the situation twice, now i am see that other saturn owners have had the same issue.i called gm and there is no recall?how is that possible.i have struggled with this issue for 2 years.this is a serious safety concern, i can't see with one headlight.please help

The electrical system in my 2009 saturn vue shorts out causing all kinds of issues, the first time was in late 2013 when nothing on the dash came on, my radio did not play, no gages worked. Drove it to the first dealership in waterford and they got the gages working but had little news to say about it, it was a bad experience to say the least.the 2nd time it died in my drive way ( it had a brand new battery in it at the time)i had it towed to the nearest dealership and was told at first that they could not find the problem.the hood latch light was on and when they tried to give it back the tire pressure light came on and would not go off even when the tire pressure was checked manually and was correct .they said that they had to reboot the computer board and it was fixed.this time i drove my car for over a 2 month period where the blinker would cause the radio to go out, if i turned on the brights the radio would go out, then one day i got out of my car and realized the radio was still playing. I had to restart the car to shut it down . Lights flicker on the dash and the headlights would flicker back and forth while driving. My last straw was when i came out of the store and my car would not start, it did not do anything, i sat there for a minute and tried it again and it started up, so i scheduled an appointment at the dealership.they had the car form april 23 thru may 8 and said they could not duplicate the problem. In october my extended warranty is up and no one has found the problem yet. I have to say i have drove it now for 4 days and none of the things i described earlier has happened. Someone please help me, not fair to have these kinds of issues on a car of this caliper.

The contact owns a 2009 saturn vue. The contact stated while driving 45 mph, the engine stalled without warning. The contact coasted the vehicle onto the side of the road where she restarted the vehicle and if functioned properly. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for inspection. The vehicle was not repaired and the failure recurred two additional times. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 30,000.

Traction control stays on and transmission engages then release slipping ..also hybrid system nit working at all never turn off and any stop like a hybrid .

The hose for the moon roof drains are leaking causing mold and electrical issues in the vue. We had the hoses replaced twice but the problem keeps happening. Electrical issues have caused issues with starting, instrument panel, etc.

The contact owns a 2009 saturn vue. While attempting to start the vehicle, the ignition seized while the key was present. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence where an independent mechanic diagnosed that the ignition lock failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact also stated that the key was unable to be removed. The manufacturer stated that the vin was not included in any recalls and refereed the contact to nhtsa. The contact inquired about nhtsa campaign number: 14v490000 (electrical system), her vehicle's year was not included. The failure mileage was approximately 80,551.

The contact owns a 2009 saturn vue. The contact stated that the ignition key hesitated to disengage from the vehicle intermittently. There was no warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 42,000.

Approximately july 2013, my instrument panel lights and radio shut off. The service stabilitrak warning message came on and then went off.i was unable to take the key out of the ignition. After moving the battery, the lights turned on and i was able to start the car. This lasted for an hour. It happened again and moving the battery worked. I took it to lou fusz gmc buick. They tested the alternator, battery, and all of their components. They were fine. I took it to them in august, september, and october. I thought the problem was caused by the battery not being secured or i needed a new battery. I had the battery replaced by lou fusz in january 2014. Everything seemed to be fine until earlier this month. The same symptoms and issues happened again. I currently have the vehicle at a gm service center hoping they can resolve the issue. There is something seriously wrong with this vehicle. I am afraid to drive it. My concern is it may be overheating causing the wires to burn.there are other reports of the same issue with the 2009 saturn vue. Please assist me in resolving this matter.

Several months ago, my redline started clicking stabilitrak off and then when turning ignition off, would be completely dead. This continued after installing a new battery (thought the battery needed replacing). I have taken to a repair man numerous times and still can't get an answer.they replaced one of the battery cables completely and this stopped it for about a month, thought we had found the problem. Well it has since continued to have a bad connection somewhere. When it happens, i can "wiggle" the black electric box above the battery and power is restored. Sometimes, it disconnects everytime i put it in park and switch off and sometimes i can go days without an incident. There has to be an electrical/wiring issue causing this. I don't believe that the issue lies within the stabilitrak system. I think that the stabilitrak turns off as a direct result of the vehicle losing the electronic connection.

Car has lost power on dash lights, radio when our daughter was driving on the freeway or around town especially when turnin the steering wheel, looses power, and she was forced to get into the emergency lane.key gets stuck in ingnition upon starting car intermittently will not start without jumping the car off or without wiggling the wires on top of the battery connecting to the brain.we have had the battery replaced. Stabilitract light was on and we had the dealer check it out they replaced the brake computer module. Radio will cut off, dash lights go off intermittently.

The contact owns a 2009 saturn vue. The contact stated that the driver's side visor retraction clip fractured and the visor would not properly retract. The contact also mentioned that the dome, door, and glove compartment lights failed to activate. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 64,000.updated 08/27/14the consumer stated the bar that runs through the visor became hot to touch and caused the wiring that runs to the dome to burn out. This caused the interior lights to fail. The visor was replaced but, the interior lights were not repaired.updated 09/18/2014

The first problem occurred about a year ago, when a message stating "stabilitrack off" appeared while driving on the interstate. I continued driving with the message and parked as normal.the next time i started the car the message was gone. Several months later i went to start the car and it was completely dead. Door locks, radio, everything was dead. We replaced the battery and thought the problem was fixed, but about two months later i went out in the morning to a dead car again. Jumping the car was an instant fix, and the vehicle ran fine again for about 3 weeks. This happened about once a month for the next 6 months, with the "stabilitrak off" message occasionally popping up while driving. Each time it would not start a jump was required, and then the car would drive fine. There was never any indication that the battery was low, and it never quit while actively being driven. Over the past month the problems have occurred more frequently, and now happen about 3-4 times per week. I have to keep a portable battery charger in my glovebox to jump it myself. We have replaced the battery twice and still have these issues. We took it to an independent mechanic who was unable to find the problem, though he assured us the battery, alternator, etc. Were fine. At this point we are looking to sell the vehicle, because my kids and i cannot keep being stranded when it won't start. I no longer feel it is a safe vehicle for them to be riding in. Unfortunately we will take a huge hit when we sell, as the car is obviously not worth what we paid for it since these problems were unknown then. It has 80,000 miles on it now, and these problems started at 75,000 miles.

Sometimes when i turn my 2009 saturn vue off i cannot get the key out of the ignition.i will have to put the car back into drive and then back in park before i can get the key out.

My 2009 saturn vue hybrid has had 2 car batteries die and the hybrid batteries have had to be replaced as well.i purchased the vue in july of 2009.the first car battery was reported dead by the lou fuze dealership less than a week after my purchase and replaced under warranty.the hybrid batteries were deemed "dead" by the lou fuze dealership in july 2010 and replaced under warranty.in october 2010, the car battery was again deemed "dead" and replaced by the lou fuze dealership.each time the car battery was replaced, i was told by the dealership that batteries will die quickly in extreme conditions.i was not aware that the st. Louis area qualified as extreme in terms of weather.additionally, i was told by the service manager during my the october 2010 incident that i should be happy it was only my car battery that was dead because the hybrid batteries are on back order.it seems that there is something very wrong with the battery or electrical system of the vue hybrid and my dealership is not being forthright about the larger issue.eventually my warranty will run out and then i will be stuck with a very expensive lemon!please help!

I have a 2009 saturn vue xe with only 40,515 miles and the wiring in the headliner above the windshield and driver side visor caught on fire! the fire was put out with a fire extinguisher. A burned area about a foot around is now in the headliner. It blackened the white paint on the outside roof. The melting wiring insulation in the headliner dripped and burned a hole in the driver leather seat. What a stinky mess! thank god it was put out quick enough and didn't catch the whole vehicle on fire! obviously this isn't an isolated problem based on my google search. I've reported this problem to gm customer service. They said no open recalls on this vehicle. However, i suspect gm is aware of this problem.

The defrost button flashes and deactivates during freezing temperatures preventing the windows from defogging.

The contact owns a 2009 saturn vue. The contact was driving approximately 45 mph when theemissions plunge overflow sensor warning light illuminated. The contact then noticed a burning odor inside the vehicle and smoke coming from the rear hatch. The contact stated that the dash display indicated that the doors were ajar but they were locked and the rear passenger was unable to open the door to exit the vehicle during the incident. The fuse was removed from the brake light which stopped the smoke. The vehicle was diagnosed and no repairs were performed. The contact was informed that the electrical wires were damaged from contact with the license tag which caused the defect.the manufacturer was notified and no solution was offered. The failure mileage was 69,000. Updated 1/16/14the consumer stated the insurance sent company sent her a check, to have the vehicle repaired.

While driving down road acceleration slowed, all instrument panel lights came on, loss full power steering & brake functions, no turn signals, brake lights, fuel gauge went to empty, messages on driver air bag, stabilitrak, tire air pressure, abs, everything was flashing.all instrument panel lights were on, radio stopped, sudden increased acceleration then decreased again.i got pulled over to a parking lot (which was very hard with brake pedal going to floor & steering almost impossible), turned off car & removed key.still had all (4) open door lights on and all the doors were shut.they stayed on more than 5 minutes before finally going off.i sat there 30 minutes before trying to start the car again.when i started it everything was working again as if it had reset itself. Yesterday august 31, 2015 was the third time this same thing has happened to me while driving at 45 mph or more.this is extremely dangerous as i drive daily on heavily traveled parkways.dealerships can not find a problem when i take it to them.they just want to reset the electrical system.it just occurs again so that is not the solution.need help getting this resolved.

Unable to turn vehicle off while in park. Key gets stuck at acc.

I purchased my 2009 saturn vue xr v6 a year ago. After driving my saturn during the 1st month i began to notice the a/c was blowing warm air when i was needing to cool the inside of the cabinet . We had very hot consecutive days in n.c with temperatures reaching in access of 100 degrees. I had no choice but to let the windows down to survive the heat. I am angry with gm now as they are appearing to ignore this problem with no recall in sight to date. I understand that gm has reported to have repaid at least 30 percent of tarp money they received from the government bailout and reported billions in profit. Gm needs to step up to the plate and address and fix this problem with the saturn vue. The fastest and cheapest from of advertising in still word of mouth.i will express to my friends , family and strangers i meet with my displeasure with the gm product. The a/ c problem with my saturn vue occurs everytime i turn on the unit. A cabin sensor unit was replace once to fix the problem ; however, the problem still exist. I am not happy making monthly payments for my saturn vue with this problem continuing to exist with my a/c.

While driving at approximately 30 mph parts of the instrument cluster failed.this included the speedometer, electronic stability control and driver information center.driver pulled over and turned off the vehicle.restarting the vehicle did not correct the condition.the vehicle was driven approximately a mile to home and shut off.starting the vehicle later resulted in the components working properly.note that on previous occasions the dic (driver information center) has reset itself.vehicle has never been in an accident and is maintained in excellent condition.

Tl-the contact owns a 2009 saturn vue. The contact stated while driving theelectronics in the dashboard of the vehicle would turn off and on causing the warning sensor lights to illuminate. The contact indicated that the defect occurred more often while driving and coming to a complete stop. The vehicle was diagnosed by the dealer and the battery was replaced but the failure continued to occur. The manufacturer was notified and no solution was offered. The failure mileage was 45,000. Rk

2009 saturn vue xr.in december 2010 i noticed interior and exterior lights would occasionally start flickering, approx. 2 hz rate.problem was intermittent; several repair shops said "probably a short..." but i never had anyone actually try to troubleshoot. On jan 15 2011 i noticed that the driver's side sun visor spindle was very hot to the touch.i was concerned that it might get hot enough to start a fire.i took the visor down from the headliner, hoping to find a connector for the wires, but it was hard wired, so i snipped and taped off the wires and remounted the visor.the flickering problem has not returned, so i believe the two to be related.

Cannot get key out of ignition when car is turned off, have to wait at least one minute or more to get it to unlock or release to take key out, uses too much battery time.

The check engine lights was supposed to be due to a catalytic converter was a sure fix, i paid 700 to replace and a day after picking up from my mechanic it is doing it again. It was hesitant at first but then it started again and got worse. The rpm accelerating but speedometer slowing down. I took it back to my mechanic, he read something to me about the replacement of converter, it said to drive it for 1 hour at high speeds to burn off inside the new converter, reset the light which should fix the problem. I had already driven for 1 hour because i live an hour away.i head home and as i'm getting on the entrance ramp to i-75 something came through my vents and in my throat and chest and i start coughing really bad and tightness in chest.i got up to 55mph and the truck started jerking and i noticed the brake pedal was down to the floor and my brakes locked up. It will not go more than 20-30mph. I pulled over to the shoulder and while still in drive the truck will not move. Check engine, abs and traction lights came on. I called mechanic and he suggested i roll down my windows and get some air because i was coughing so bad and have it towed to be safe. Called onstar and now abs codes, told to take in for service within 7 days, i advised her cannot drive over 20mph and requested a tow. A state trooper stopped to assist me, said to get in safer place so he held traffic and drove behind me to get off interstate while i wait for tow truck. 7:32pm in the midst of rush hour traffic and 50 miles from home. I was horrified! i waited 2 hours for a tow that never showed, had to get a ride home again.eventually got vehicle to a gm dealer. I rcvd a call from the service dept with a quote of $5k of repairs to include a brake job because rear pads were metal to metal. Had brakes checked 1week before and had 30% left, leads me to believe it was brake dust making me sick.

Transmission started slipping

I was driving on the highway, cruising at 70 in the far left hand lane, and suddenly my vehicle speed dropped to 40 mph and error codes started flashing on the dash (decrease engine, engine, stability track system, traction control, and others i don't remember). With semi trucks and a high volume of traffic behind me and blowing their horns, i attempted to change lanes in an effort to pull over on the right shoulder as georgia law states...but it would not accelerateand continued to decrease. It was by the grace of god that i did not get hit by the vehicles and semi trucks slamming on their brakes to avoid hitting me. I nearly missed the off ramp. Off on the exit ramp was not able to make the light so pulled over to right side. My car made a high pitched sound like it does when i really step on the gas, it was revving and now pulling forward. It continued to make this noise while i was at a stop light, not moving, tried putting it in neutral, park, nothing would make the revving stop. Finally, light turned green and the car jerked me forward but then would not accelerate again as i attempted to make it to the gas station off the exit. I pulled into the lot and again when i braked to put in reverse to park it started revving high and jerked forward again then backwards. I turned off the car and let sit 10 minutes. Turned it on, it would not go away the engine was in revving so high i thought it might blow. I turn the engine off and had the vehicle towed from 30+ miles away from home.

While driving power steering went out.difficult to control or turn wheel.almost had an accident. Fortunately was driving 25mph on city streetwould have been much worse if on interstate.

While in motion on a city street going up hill, the car was having a problem accelerating up hill. When going downhill, the car would stop, and the brakes would lock up. Have to use acceleration when going downhill in order for it to move. Finally when i made it home and parked there was a loud noise (like something was scraping against something). And then the service traction control light came on.when i got out the car, it smelled like burnt metal. When i googled this problem, it appears that a lot of saturn vue users have had the same issues and it appears as if the dealerships are not sure how to fix this problem.

Purchased vehicle with mileage at 25,394 5/28/2014 currently today, 3/29/2017 mileage is 53,588, average use per year 9,398. Within the march 2017, 3/3/2017 had a transmission rebuilt, 3/20/2017 check engine, stabilitrak & traction signs flashing map sensor and oxygen sensors were replaced, 3/29/2017, power steering line leak. Under 2009 saturn vue-v6 utility 4d red line awd a recall #08284 was sited on sep 16, 2008 with nhtsa id# 08v470000.reading description my vehicle falls under the recall condition but my vin# doesn't show any recall attention required. On 3/20/2017, dealer found a recall 15806 action 9102060 and it was cleared but i still continued to have problems with vehicles steering.i can't accelerate and have difficulty steering to left or right...

I turned the corner to enter my street, there is a slight "s" curve to enter my street.i was no more than 50 yards from the corner when my vehicle revved loudly, rpm to 3500 and accelerated , i managed to avoid more damaged than was done, but in the interim i hit a 3' tall brick mail box and caused damage to my vehicle. The gentleman whose mail box i hit suggested i research recalls, - and i found a ton of "like" incidences with these vehicles and transmissions.it is amazing no one has been killed.general consensus is gm is not taking responsibility for these situations.gm knows the transmission is defective, but refuses to address the issue.people have been left stranded with a non working vehicle and still owing money for this.there is evidence of failure on a continual basis, but gm is abandoning the cause.disgusting since we the tax payers bailed them out with their sub standard product!

Driving vehicle around 55mph veered off onto loose gravel. Hit a drain culvert flew into the air, slammed down into a ditch, and hit several cut telephone poles used as landscape decorations with no front air bag deployment. Received medical attention and filed police reports.

The selling dealership lists this vehicles current condition as, "suburb condition." the following inspection comments were provided to me when at this dealership: a) drivers side sun visor broken, doesn't stay in place; b) left front headlight out; c) no heat control (always blowing cold); d) drivers side lumbar adjuster broken off; e) air filter dirty; f) front and rear brakes at 3 mm. Recommend front and rear pads and rotors; g) "small" oil leak near transfer case; h) front sway bar links "rattle" over bumps. An estimate was provided for parts and labor costs, but did not include parts and labor costs for fixing the heat or the engine leak(s). Also, labor costs were not provided for repairing the lumbar support. The total cost for these repairs is several thousand dollars. Based on these inspection results, and my own observation (i.e. The tires dot dates and wear indicate instability in cars performance and safety), the current condition of this vehicle is not "suburb."

Going onto 105 fwy, noticed smoke from rear view mirror, pedestrian waving me down, 2 people came up w/ext. Fire in engine car went up immediately, found there was recall of hose becoming lose that can cause fire in cab, ins. Determined this is what happened, went through gm, rep. Saying there not sure what there going to do, i would think they would stand by there name and replace my vehicle, i had just dropped my daughter off before the fire started and barely escaped myself. I will be seeking legal council if i'm not happy with gm solution. I would really like to settle with gm as i told rep.

Was driving along 35 mph. Vehicle started to smoke pull over put the car in park when i got out to check to see where the smoke was coming from i saw flames underneath the vehicle on the passenger side with minutes the vehicle was on fire whole front end of the vehicle was consumed by flames.

I started the engine and heard a clang.i got out and looked under my car and there was a part of the air conditioner compressor (part of the clutch) laying on the ground.i took it in for service and was told the bearings failed and it was falling apart.i noticed on edmond's that others were having the same problem with the same mileage for the same model so i thought i should document this.thank you for your time and consideration.

The contact owns a 2009 saturn vue. During a routine oil change, the mechanic stated that there were pieces of metal in the oil filter. The vehicle didn't malfunction or affect his ability to driveat the time of the complaint. He scheduled an appointment with the dealer on 03/02/2010. He had not called the manufacturer to-date. The current mileage was 5,325. The failure mileage was 5,266.

The knob to control the front seat adjusting, keeps falling off. I was told only dealer can replace this i took it in once said they fixed it but it wasn't

1. The interior driver side door handle is "chrome" covered and has caused cuts that required a 'butterfly' stitching. 2. Every time i open the door i get cut 3. I have contacted saturn for almost a year to repair this to no avail.1. The tire pressure sensors are on backwards. If my left front tire is going flat the sensors and lights say it's the left rear tire. 2. This happens each time my tire gets low and i just figured out the problem 3 months ago. It causes me to over inflate the incorrect tire and the low tire is still low on air. 3. I have contacted saturn for almost a year about this and they have not helped.

Traction control stays on and transmission engages then release slipping ..also hybrid system nit working at all never turn off and any stop like a hybrid .

At less than 35,500 miles i had a power rack leak and rack needs to replaced with a price of $1000.at 62,000 miles we had to replace the power steering pump with a cost of $700, and now at 64,000 miles i find i have a cracked wave plate in the transmission that will cost another $2,000.

It started raining in an area i was not formillia with.when i hit the gas sometimes it engaged other times it did not.then it would not go into reverse.i could only go forward in low, would not shift intto 2nd or drive.

When i park the car, the automatic transmission does not fully shift to park unless i throw it very hard into park and i can not turn the key to the "off" position and take it out of the ignition.sometimes it takes several very hard throws and other times it acts normally.

The vehicle has only 122,000 and is in good physical condition, yet the transmission is slipping badly.after doing some investigation, we found out that this is often the case for this model and year after 120,000 miles.we brought it into our local gm dealer/shop and they told us it needs a new transmission, which ranges from rebuilt at $2500 and new for over $4000.this seems very wrong considering kbb says it books for $4500?

Transmission started slipping

My vehicle is shifting extremely hard. Dealer stated that it was a wave plate inside the transmission and would require an overhaul of the transmission. Research has shown many others have reported this same problem with the approximate mileage that my vehicle has.

Driver's belt no longer retracts after driver exits the vehicle.

' tamara recall' when coming to a stop, the brake pedal goes to the floor and sticks and when released the car darts away and makes it hard to stop. I have been in an accident because of this and have received two tickets because of the brakes .

On freeway @65 mph, after 10-12 miles, sudden deceleration, attempted to accelerate, continued deceleration, no indicator lights.all 4 brakes applied without pedal movement. Pulled to side of rode.turned off car, inspected tires and underside of car, nothing unusual.parking brake cycled 2-3 times.restarted car and drove another 10-15 miles, same unexplained braking, in moderate to severe traffic very frightening, dangerous (05/30/2015).taken to dealer 2 times, still not repaired after replacing brake pressure modulator valve (bpmv -06/05/215) and the ebcm (07/22/2015 0900).and now a 3rd time. (7/22/2015 1600).

When brakes are lightly applied they continue to slow the vehicle until you place your foot under the brake pedal and pull it up to get it to release .the mechanic decided that the booster or the master cylinder was the problem.we fixed to the tune of $946.52.five weeks later the problem reappeared.this time it was discovered that the pivot pin that mounts the brake pedal under the dash was squeezing the pedal arm so tight that the pedal was sticking.the pedal arm was removed and machined down so that it now pivots freelyto the tune of $100.00so it a very short time i have spent $1046.42 in car repairs.

Had brakes checked 1week before and had 30% left, leads me to believe it was brake dust making me sick.

August 2015 i was on my way home from work around 6:25pm on i-75 the engine started revving and rpm were high and truch felt like i was pushing gas and brake pedal at same time. Check engine light comes on.i thought the transmission was failing. Called onstar for a diagnostic and was told the code is p0340, continue to drive and if more issues take in to dealer. All of a sudden my speed went from 65 to 30 and even though i was flooring gas pedal it would go no more than 20-30 mph.i frantically, somehow was able to maneuver 5-6 lanes of traffic and pull over onto the shoulder.needless to say i had to be towed. It was only by the grace of god that i was not hit nor caused someone else to have an accident on i-75 in busy atlanta.i was 50 miles away from home and had to get a ride home.after days of research and the repair shop diagnosing the vehicle according to the codes, i had to replace the catalytic converter hub 2.

I too am experiencing my brake pedal sticking, seems to drag at times, any ideas, help

The contact owns a 2009 saturn vue hybrid. The contact stated that the brake pedal would intermittently become stuck when depressed and the contact would have to forcibly dislodge the pedal with his foot. The contact had taken the vehicle to the dealer ten times and the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure each time. The contact stated that the failure would occur after driving for a period of time. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 20,869 and the current mileage was 41,000.

My vehicle has been leaking an abundance of power steering fluid. According to the dealer, my vehicle is not included in the current recall of the power steering nut. The exact same problems that have occurred with the "effected" vehicles are happening with my vehicle.

The contact owns a 2009 saturn vue. The contact stated that while driving approximately 50 mph, there was a complete lost of power steering. The contact was unable to turn the steering wheel. The vehicle was towed to a dealer who stated the steering column and electrical assist needed to be replaced in order to repair the vehicle.the vehicle was not repaired.the manufacturer was made aware of the failure.the approximate failure mileage was 85,000.

There was no specific incident. I identified the problem in april after i purchased an additional car. Then i noticed more clearly how the saturn steering problem had become more serious and noticeable. The problem is the steering wheel seems to bind when the driver turns the steering wheel. The steering wheel makes a distinct sound like it is binding. It also takes more effort to turn the steering wheel than in my other gm car. The steering does not quite re-center the vehicle after making a turn; the car will remain in a slight direction left or right after turning a corner; the driver must make an effort to return the steering to point the car due center. This defect is worse in the cold weather.

The contact owns a 2009 saturn vue.the contact stated while driving no particular speed, the power steering failed and the steering wheel became hard to turn. The failure continued to occur intermittently over a four month period. The vehicle was repaired by the dealer; however, the failure continued to occur.the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 87,000.

"takata recall" i have a 2009 saturn vue i loose my power steering at low speeds while turning right or left. It takes two hands and very difficult to turn.

Cannot get key out of ignition when car is turned off, have to wait at least one minute or more to get it to unlock or release to take key out, uses too much battery time.

The contact owns a 2009 saturn vue. The contact stated that while making a left turn at an unknown speed, the steering wheel became difficult to maneuver and an abnormal sound emitted from the vehicle without warning. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the power steering pump and the inlet pipe needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer on two separate occasion where it was diagnosed that the gear assembly needed to be replaced. In addition, the shaft was fractured and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 36,685. When making turns at lower speeds i have to use two hands to get the vehicle to turn and this happens unexpectedly and has been occurring regularly

The contact owns a 2009 saturn vue. The contact stated that while turning at an unknown speed, an abnormal noise emitted from the steering wheel. The contact mentioned that when the failure recurred, the steering wheel became slightly difficult to maneuver. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 45,000.

The contact owns a 2009 saturn vue. The contact stated that while driving 65 mph, the steering wheel seized. The contact wrestled with the steering wheel to avoid hitting another motorist until the wheel released. The failure recurred within seconds. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic for diagnosis. The contact was informed that there were several failure codes. The vehicle was then towed to a dealer for diagnosis, who stated that they could not determine the cause of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 46,000.

Vehicle has a high whining sound especially when turning as well as when vehicle is in motion you can tell something is not right with the steering almost like it's getting stuck in either direction

Key would not come out after putting car in park. Took it to myers autoworld, they found the shifter switch was bad.

The contact owns a 2009 saturn vue. While driving approximately 10 mph, the steering seized without warning. The vehicle was towed to phil smith chevrolet (located at 1640 n state rd 7, lauderhill, fl 33313, (954) 372-2576) where it was diagnosed that the power steering module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 103,000.

While driving power steering went out.difficult to control or turn wheel.almost had an accident. Fortunately was driving 25mph on city streetwould have been much worse if on interstate.

When making a left turn, the power steering seemed to fail and it took a great deal of strength to complete the turn.i have also had this problem when making right turns.it happens at low speeds being that it happens when turning. This has happened many time.i see that there has been a recall on some vehicles but not mine for the same type of issue.i am afraid that i will loose control of my car.my service center, which is a saturn authorized dealer mentioned a steering sensor, but i believe it is a power steering issue. They told me the repair would cost over $500.

The electric power steering quits several times during a 2-3 mile trip.the wheel is extremely hard to turn but does pivot the front tires.it takes a lot of force to turn the wheel.

The car stable trak light comes on for service then the power steering service light comes and i lose power steering and power of my car this happened at 60mph on the highway, shut the car off for 5 mins and everything went back to normal then it happened again proceeded to do the same thing and it went back to normail

We purchased this car used now has under 90,000 miles on it and the engine started leaking from all seals. $2700 to repair this now the power steering seems to be not working making it difficultto impossible to drive this vehicle. No indication of any leaks just notices when the grinding started there was no power steering fluid on the dip stick. I see several complaints for this problem and given the safety issue feel it should be recalled.

Power steering lockedfrom time to time. Dealer says module and motorat the power steering is causing that. That can happen wheter the vehicle is stationary and in motion. Very unsafe

Steering motor shorted out and caused loss of steering on nj turnpike.

The wheel is hard to turn when backing out of a parking spot and making turns to the left and right.it happens when ever i make a turn in drive and when i am backing up from park. It started when the car milage hit over 100,000. We took it to the dealer and was told we needed to flush the power steering fluid. We did that and the problem sitll happens. It started again about 2 hours after we picked up the car. Took the car back and was told that we need to change the rack and the pump. Will cost me over $1500. Is this on a recall?

At less than 35,500 miles i had a power rack leak and rack needs to replaced with a price of $1000.at 62,000 miles we had to replace the power steering pump with a cost of $700, and now at 64,000 miles i find i have a cracked wave plate in the transmission that will cost another $2,000.

Hi my name is [xxx]. I am having difficulties with the power steering in my 2009 saturn vue xe. This had been on ongoing problem approximately one month. I was instructed to return the car to the dealership for diagnosis. The warranty on my saturn is no longer needed service. The power steering problem has gotten much more worse over the course of time. It is becoming more and more difficult to maneuver or turn my vue. I am a 65 year old and my strength isn't where it used to be. The first time the steering went out i almost got into an accident. I also understand that there was a recall for my exact car model. Yes, i was told the recall was not for my specific model. But, as times get harder and harder i really don't have the finances to fix this car. Would you guys be willing to extend my warranty please to get this fixed. This car is as my means of transportation. I would greatly appreciate anything in your shirts that you could do to resolve my issue. Thank you kindly and gracious regards [xxx].information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Since april 2014 our 2009 saturn vue has experienced a loss of steering assist which requires both hands for steering at low speed.recently we received a recall for our 2007 gmc acadia.the recall is for the same conditions we experience with our saturn.as both vehicles have the same power train to the best of my knowledge i believe the recall should be expanded by gm.

Power steering failed while turning and vehicle headed into oncoming vehicle. Was able to brake and stop the vehicle before crash and steering came back after slowing down.driver info center showed a power steering message but was unable to read it before it went away.

The contact owns a 2009 saturn vue. The contact stated that while turning the steering wheel it became stiff and hard to maneuver. The failure was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 71,765. The current mileage was 71,853. The vin was not available.

The contact owns a 2009 saturn vue.the contact stated while driving approximately 45 mph, she lost control of the vehicle slid, and crashed into a guard rail. A police report was not filed and there were no injuries reported.the vehicle was taken to the dealer where the technician diagnosed that the steering wheel position sensor was not programmed correctly and the steering gear was leaking fluid.the vehicle was repaired. However, the contact stated there was a knocking noise emitted from the steering wheel. The contact referenced nhtsa campaign id number 08v616000 (steering). The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact that the vin was not included in the recall.the approximate failure mileage was 111,952.

I bought the car with 62,301 miles on it. At 90k miles, i'm on my way to work, and while driving around a curve i noticed a tug like feeling in my steering wheel.i thought i was imagining it. Besides of that little s curve, it's a strait shot to work.i needed gas, so i went to turn into the gas station and almost hit a truck parked there because i had no steering.i turned the wheel a full 360 and luckily managed a turn enough to miss the guys truck by inches (literally).in my complete embarrassment, i jump out apologizing and told him the issue. He stated he seen me cranking the wheel and figured as much and offered to check the steering fluid for me.astound to find there was nothing to check.i took it to laclairs in chesaning mi, and this is what the repair order reads : power steeringquit while driving. And now steering binds and clunks and can barely turn, scanned system, but no codes stored, contacted tech assist center..unpowered steering assist motor then steering module. Condition no duplicated, replaced steering gear assembly and performed front and rear alignment as needed reset front and rear toe. $672.33. I chose the remanufactured part hoping that what ever the problem was with the original would have been fixed before they could put it back on the shelf, now, at 131 k miles, only 42 k miles since that repair, the same issue has returned.now, i have to once again pay to have it looked at, and once again pay for the repairs.i have seen several complaints from many different years from people with this same year with the same complaint and yet there has not been a recall made.i looked up the recall information when i first had this problem and like everyone else my vin was not part of the recall, yet my car has the same issue. It's not just the power steering that failed, it was all the steering. A full 360 turn and only moved little inchs

The contact owns a 2009 saturn vue. While driving at approximately 5 mph and attempting to make a left turn, the power steering seized. The contact stated that this was a recurring failure. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The technician diagnosed that the r/r hub speed sensor and steering angle sensor were defective and needed to be replaced. The steering r/r hub was repaired; however, the steering angle sensor was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 106,000.

While turning at low speeds power steering goes out. The vehicle becomes hard to steer.

The contact owns a 2009 saturn vue. The contact stated that there was an intermittent leak under the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed that the power steering nut needed to be replaced. The vehicle not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and stated that the vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign id number: 08v470000 (steering). The approximate failure mileage was 60,000. The vin was not available.

The contact owns a 2009 saturn vue. The contact stated that while driving approximately 30 mph, a complete loss of powering steering occurred without any warning. The contact continued to drive however, the steering wheel became difficult to turn. The vehicle was taken to an independent auto shop and an authorized dealer for diagnosis. The technicians advised that there was a leak in the power steering pump and the hose. The contact referenced nhtsa campaign id number was 08v470000 (steering: hydraulic power assist: hose, piping, and connections) however, the contact's vin was not included in the recall. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 58,000.

Care was parked in store parking lot. When i attempted to remove the key from the ignition, key would not move from acc to park. Car would start, but no matter what i tried, i could not remove the key.drove to dealer who told me it was the shifter. Gave me a work-around: move automatic gear to m (manual) then push up hard to p (park.). The key could then be removed.this poses a safety issue if work-around was not known. There's a danger to leaving the car, unable to lock it and running the battery down.if the car had been in a crash with the need to immediately leave the vehicle, there would be a risk to passengers, nearby pedestrians, other drivers and property.when i called the dealer to confirm service needed and set an appointment for service, i was told that i should not wait and come in immediately.

The contact owns a 2009 saturn vue. The contact stated that intermittently the vehicle would not shift out of park and failed to start. While driving the vehicle stalled without warning. The contact was unable to restart the vehicle and was towed to a repair facility. The mechanic stated that the ignition switch and the entire steering column needed to be replaced. No accident. I'm reporting designflaw:saturn vue service manual states not use tire chains, but no suggestion of what to use in snow.after many phone calls i found saturn sells spike spiders for $470 to more than $500 a pop. These spikes are said by the spike spider manufacturer, not to interfere with sensors, brakes, suspension on the side of the tire next to the vehicle. My saturn dealership wascareful not to recommend these very expensive spikes.i had to ask them.but saturn does sell them at their dealerships.when calling the nationwide saturn customer service number, they didn't have an answer at all for me.in fact, they wanted to talk about everything but my question.so, it is either pay for very expensive after market product or use nothing. I fear the latter. How many folks will go without this winter due to cost and availability.all due to the design of the vehicle. Someone wasn't thinking.

The contact owns a 2009 saturn vue. The contact stated that while driving 40 mph, the sun visor came down obstructing blocking the view. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 59,000. The vin was not unavailable.

The contact owns a 2009 saturn vue. The contact stated that the front driver and passenger side interior chrome door handles exhibited a sharp pointed edge. The contact sustained a severe laceration to the left finger from the failure. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the defect. The approximate failure mileage was 65,531.

The contact owns a 2009 saturn vue. While driving at 65 mph, the service air bag, abs, and tire pressure warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer. The technician diagnosed that the lights needed to be reset. The vehicle was repaired; however, the tire pressure warning light remained illuminated. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 67,955.

The air conditioning is not working it will work for a few minutes then just blow hot air it has been checked four times by service techs. I have not talked to a saturn owner that said theirs worked good i think gm should recall all or the 2009 models a try to fix them

It seems like it's still having some problems due to the recalls..the air bag light is on and the tire sensor light is on..

Vehicle is a saturn vue xe, 3.5 liter awd, ~84,000 miles.problem statement:extensive corrosion of the subframe located at the midpoint of the vehicle on the driver and passenger sides. This is not surface rust - the frame corrosion has resulted in sections of the frame rotting through, severely compromising the structural integrity of the frame and safety of the vehicle.i have documented at least 6 formal complaints for the same problem from various websites, including some with front end and engine mounts cross members literally rotting away. My vehicle is only 12 years old and has only 7000 miles average miles per year but will not pass a safety inspection in massachusetts due to the extensive rust through. The nhtsa has several corrosion related service bulletins documented involving several general motors vehicle models but they only call out surface corrosion. The nhtsa needs to investigate frame rust through on saturn vue and other gm vehicles as owners are highly unlikely to realize the looming safety hazard if they have no other reason to inspect underneath the vehicle.

The hose for the moon roof drains are leaking causing mold and electrical issues in the vue. We had the hoses replaced twice but the problem keeps happening. Electrical issues have caused issues with starting, instrument panel, etc.

Whenthe auto was placed in park, theignition key could not be removed.this continued to happenintermittently.

The contact owns a 2009 saturn vue. The contact stated that while driving approximately 65 mph, the check engine warning light illuminated as the engine power reduced. The vehicle was taken to a private mechanic where it was diagnosed that the throttle body needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was repaired. The approximate failure and current mileage was 140,000.

Was on interstate with my 10 yr old daughter with me with cruise set at 75mph, lane was merging, so i accelerated to get past a semi to get over. Let up off gas and car kept accelerating faster. Hit brake and nothing happened. Car still kept accelerating. Turned off cruise and laid on brake but car still kept accelerating. Speed reached 110mph and cars were in front of me in all lanes. Finally put in neutral and engine revved up until finally a loud pop noise and it stopped accelerating.this is the 3rd time this has happened since i bought the car a couple of years ago.however this is the first time that i was unable to get it to stop accelerating. I was in fear for the life of my daughter and myself! i took it to the dealership and they were unable to duplicate issue. They recommended putting a new throttle body in and doing a full system flush which will cost around $800.i just had the transmission replaced a few months ago and work done to correct traction control, stabilitrak and abs issue. I have done a search on the internet and have found other people with the same make and model car that have had the same complaint about the accelerator sticking and car speeding up on its own and not being able to stop it by braking.however the dealership service dept was unable to find any related recalls.

The defrost button flashes and deactivates during freezing temperatures preventing the windows from defogging.

The rear defroster does not work.whenyou press the rear defroster windshield wiper fluid pours out of the vehicle.no defrosting happens

While on a trip driving from central arkansas towisconsin, the wiper motor went out and caused the front wipers to stop in the middle of the windshield. And of course this started happening while it was raining. There was no way for the wipers to go back down to their proper position. While in wisconsin i tried to schedule an appointment while the local certified saturn dealership but they said it would be over a week before they could get me in. We had to drive all of the way back to arkansas with the wipers not working and stuck in the middle of the windshield, obstructing the view.the cost to have it fixed was over $500 and had to drive 1 hr away to get the car to the certified saturn dealership.

2009 saturn vue.consumer writes in regards to vehicle heater core problems.the consumer stated she noticed an odor in the vehicle.the smell became stronger and then a smoky haze began emitting from the defroster. The haze fogged up the driver's side windshield.she had to continuously wipe the windshield, but it smeared, because of the residue the smoke left.not only did the smell get stronger, but the smoke started coming out of the heater vents and fogging up the driver's side window too. A mechanic informed the consumer, the heater core needed to be replaced. Updated 11/04/13

It seems like it's still having some problems due to the recalls..the air bag light is on and the tire sensor light is on..
