Airbag light going on and off

I had work done after steering column due to a faulty sensor causing abs warning light to come on. The. Not long after that my airbag warning light would come on intermittently especially when using my turning signal. The vehicle was taken to dealership twice and was told nothing wrong could be found. So i did some research about other saturn and gm owners having the same problem and it was determine to be a faulty airbag clock spring or connector. Now i am driving a vehicle where i really don't know if the airbags will deploy if i am in a accident.

I was driving my 2008 saturn vue straight forward at 45 mph, a buick encore turned directly in front of me and i slammed into the back of their vehicle. My car was totaled but my air bag did not deploy! i'm lucky i had my seat belt on or i would have gone through the windshield.

I have just paid to replace the passenger seat cushion where the sensor for the passenger airbag is. The passenger airbag light came on in my car and the mechanic discovered that the sensor was not working, therefore they were unable to say whether the airbag would correctly deploy in an accident situation.i am unable to upload the receipt due to file size. The mechanic indicated they could provide details if necessary.

I am not sure when the front drivers side airbag came on and stayed on but i noticed it today.does not make me feel safe to think there might be an issue with the drivers airbag but right now i cannot afford to have it fixed.so the problem is their airbag light for the driver stays on all of the time.

On a road trip the red air bag light went on and off a few time but is now on all the time. Chevy dealer says there are no known problems with the 2008 air bag system, which i do not believe, and they will troubleshoot for $100 an hour.

My airbag light started coming on about eight months ago.the light was continuously lit any time the car was running.it would not go off.i receive monthly diagnostic checks on my car from onstar.it kept alerting me for months that i had safety issues with my airbag system.i kept thinking the light just would not go off.after the continued persistence by the onstar alerts, and emphatic warnings to call them and have a diagnostic run on the system while i was in the car, i finally did.the operator at onstar told me that i had a serious problem with my airbags, and that they may not deploy in an accident.they strongly recommended that i check with my car dealer. I contacted general motors and told them about the issue i was having.i stressed that i feared driving in this dangerous situation, where the airbag would not work properly in a crash.i told them that i needed to have the problem checked.after stressing my concerns , gm give me the go ahead to take the vehicle to have a diagnostic check done on the airbags.the car dealer, crews chevrolet, in sc, found that the airbag was defective!i called gm representatives with the report of the inspection of the airbag module.the gm representative actually talked with the crews representative to understand the problem with the airbag.gm then said that they would have my case looked at by their superiors and make a decision about how to proceed.i waited for several days and then recalled general motors to get guidance on when to take the car in for repairs.crews quoted the cost at $880.00.gm said it would only assist the cost by paying $264.00.that the airbag was out of warranty.my problem with this is---how can something as crucial as airbags be under warranty?i was shocked that the value of my life was worth less than $880 to them.i was them to replace the airbags at total cost!

Purchased in 2011 from toyota dealership in louisville.it had the tire sensor light on. They sent it to the shop and we were told it was a sensor malfunction over and over. Then other lights started coming on along with the sluggish feeling and an annoying rattling, rolling sound. Dealer said that this was from spark plugs????i had an extended warranty.they wanted 100.00 for diagnostic 500 for spark plugs. I declined. The rotor and struts have been replaced twice. The car would often times be running with the key out of the ignition, gas gone, not to mention dangerous and bad for the car. Transmission failure starts and continues. Had a car accident in december 2013. Airbags did not activate. Dealership received over $5000.after a month they say it's finished bring me the car. I get home and the key won't come out of the ignition. They told me that they would not replace it because it was a known issue with the vehicle. The rocking and rolling sound in the struts is worse. They said that is also a known issue along with the transmission and not from the accident. They would not replace. They finally agreed to fix ignition.this vehicle is a failure! no wonder saturn is out of business. As for the toyota dealership and the gm dealer under progressive ins. Thieves!i took pictures of my file and have what they actually did for the 5000. How much they paid for the parts. I almost threw up. It was 300% mark up on some things. Others were charged for and not replaced. After this i lost all faith in trusting dealerships etc. I still owe on the car. I will continue to educate myself on the thievery that goes on in the vehicle industry. I pray everyday that karma will catch up with them. Don't bother contacting gm. They will act like they have no idea what you are talking about and never get back with you.

We purchased a 2008 saturn vue on june 28, 2008.the past 3 weeks, the key would periodically not release from the ignition - service department replaced the shifter saying it was not completely going into park.also, the airbag light (for driver) starting blinking at the time the above occurred (this was also brought to their attention).when i started the car, it started to blink (only light blinking) and continued blinking when all other lights faded.no error message was received by the chip.mile one saturn claims that they could not replicate the air bag issue, therefore the service department perceived there was no issue and released the car to me.needless to say, i went back in and told them i was not taking the car until they fixed the problem.

A car hit me from behind and pushed me into oncoming traffic where i was hit by a car on driver front. Air bags deployed and the chemical in the bags caused 3rd degree burns on my hand and arms.medical expenses were not that much but i have been left with scarring that i think are unattractive. Doctors say it is permanent.are airbags supposed to explode and the chemical in them be released?

Very upset that alot of gmc vehicles/saturns are on a recall for airbag problems. Except mine!!! my airbag light came on for the driver's side twice now.first in dec 2014 then suddenly went off. Took it to the dealership in april (light came on again) to have it repaired. Then messed with the wires and got the light out but said if it came on again it would need replaced.well it's on again and it will be about $1,500+ to have it repaired!! this is obviously a manufacturing defect!! air-bags don't wear out! this is a significant safety issue which should be taken care of by gmc!!!

The vehicle was at the dealership for a different repair.upon driving the car off the lot on friday, i noticed that the air bag light was illuminated.i immediately returned to the dealership.on the following monday, i was told that the air bag module had failed, causing the air bags to become inoperable.this car has experienced major electrical failures including ignition failure/replacement, hvac module failure/replacement, body control module failure/replacement, brake sensor failure/replacement and now the airbag module failure/replacement.this vehicle needs to be taken off of the roads due to severe safety hazards and systems failure.

While i am not reporting any deaths or injuries, i would like to bring the following information to your attention in hopes of preventing unnecessary deaths or injuries.the insurance institute for highway safety noted in their vehicle ratings that 'two tests of the vue were conducted. In the first test, the side curtain airbag did not deploy properly, and the rear passenger dummy's head was hit by the window sill of the rear door. This impact did not produce high head injury measures, but the head protection was inadequate. In response, general motors redesigned the side curtain airbags to ensure more rapid inflation and greater extension of the airbag next to the rear dummy's head. In the second test, the fix was successful, and the head protection rating improved to good'.from my understanding, the redesigned airbags are being installed in all vue's produced after december 2007, or from january 2008 on.i purchased my 2008 saturn vue in november of 2007.as such, i do not have the redesigned airbags.i contacted saturn customer assistance center via email and received the following response 'i currently am not familiar with any redesigns for the side air bags and as advised in an earlier correspondence, should there ever be a campaign issued, you would be notified by united states mail.'am i to hope that in the event of an accident that these side curtain airbags deploy properly even though saturn clearly knows and has acknowledged through its actions that they may not deploy properly?

Airbag issue - rear side curtain airbags were tested by the iihs and found to be faulty - they did not inflate quickly enough, allowing the rear occupants' heads to hit the window.it is stated on the iihs website that gm redesigned these airbags and that models manufactured after december 2007 have the new airbags that inflate more quickly and extend further and have fixed this problem.upon contacting gm customer service canada, they told me that they were unaware of this information and that the vehicle has no safety issues and "meets and exceeds...government standards."they told me that should a recall be issued, i will be informed.i cannot understand why gm would invest money in fixing a problem that supposedly doesn't exist.when i told the gm customer service person this, they said that they are always looking to improve their products and that although there was no safety issue with the old airbags, that they redesigned them anyway.of course, when i asked for a letter stating that there was no known safety issue with the airbags in my vue and that they will perform up to the standards of the newly designed airbags, they declined.typical bureaucratic nonsense - i am very upset at gm's attitude and am seriously considering a different car manufacturer for my next vehicle.i hope my children will be safe with the old airbags in the back seat...

We had problems before march 30, they were still under warranty. Sadly, the dealer never told us we would be stiffed with time in certified gm pre-owned warranty nor any of the issues we have had. Got car may 2011 and has been in and out of shops sinceapproximately september of 2011. We have replaced sway bar links3 times in less than 1 1/2 years. Tires, battery, windshield wiper motor linkage,electrical issues, replaced driver side air bag. The kicker was the transmission on march 30 2013 while husband was deployed. Had both of my children in the car when it just stopped- on the road. Had it towed to davidson in watertown ny. Diagnostic done 4/1/13 revealed 4 codes from tranny, had to remove it to test further. We have never received any recall info at any pint since 2011; most of them seem to be listed under 2008; we have no idea haow we would have known about them, or if the issues have ever been fixed. The tranny went right after power train warranty conveniently expired- it was the 3-5 wave plate , which i just read on internet was a recall. Gm case manager , [xxx],was supposedly tryingto assist me. He also was in contact with [xxx], service manager @ davidson. As soon as they knew i had a loan secured for 4000.00 , no one could help all of the sudden! i was told by gm that i would get help with cost; either certificate with smaller amount for trade in, or 30% of repair cost. I said repair cost to lower my loan. Then neither would help me and both became unprofessional. I have sent letters to gm with no response. Also, i had to pay for rental car. It is noted that clutch spring and piston also damaged.i feel that we were given this car under false pretenses as far as safety and being gm certified pre-owned. Multiple issues. The dealership had to know these issues, prior to scamming us, to make this car certified gm advertised!! information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

The heater core went bad in the vehicle. It started to smell like chemicals and the windows always fogged up when the heater was on.

Got in car and noticed that my radio had been reset, and that my car wouldn't start. I got a jump from my insurance company, and shortly after turning on the air, the odometer panel faded off. You can no longer see the odometer reading or the outside weather temp.the car also delays when it starts. Sometime it wont even start the first time around, unless you pump at the pedal a few times.this car has had several recalls in the past, and i am almost certain none of the recalls were fixed by the gm dealership that sold it to me in 2011.

October 22 2020 my husband and i had purchased a 2008 saturn vue (lic plate # 6ezz507)from a private party. On march 25 2021 the car suddenly engulfed in flames then exploded. My husband managed to exit the vehicle in just seconds before the car exploded. We've come to find out afterwards that this particular year,make,model had been recalled. In 2012 electronic control module went out in my car,(saturn vue 2008 model) when this happen you lose all control of car (power steering, brakes, etc.) this occurred again august 21 2014. Second occurrence it was not under warranty. Just wondering if there has been a recall on this electronic control module.

After driving my car the ignition key would not turn to the "off" position once the car is stopped and the shifter in park. The key was stuck the after driving ? had power buti couldnt remove my key , its stuck , couldn't move my steering wheel its locked. I tried moving back into the park position several times before the ignition key would release allowing the key out so can leave.key in "off" position. I couldnt remove the key, steering wheel locked up, this happened twice now ?both times after driving in on slightly bumpy road fwy. ?

Initial problems (may 2011) were power down while driving, losing power while driving, abs and traction dash lights went on and off while driving, onstar attempted to connect by itself even when the vehicle was shut off, draining the vue battery.in dec 2012, while parked with radio on, an extremely loud noise was emitted through the radio speakers. Shortly, the ignition and the entire electrical system shut down (door locks, dash lights,...). The vue was picked up by gm dealer. Extensive testing over a week or more finally indicated that the battery for onstar (under right passenger seat) failed. The vehicle communication interface module battery (vcim) was replaced. The vue has not had this problem since, although some sensors had to be replaced. This was an extremely difficult problem to diagnose, and is potentially a lethal defect with the vcim. All traditional tests failed to pick up the problem. Astute techs at gm finally did.

This is the third time the drivers side sun visor and bar that extends visor was scalding hot! i turned the visor to the window for sun and burned my hand on the metal bar which did not have a plastic covering on it this time after a repair from october for the same issue. The overhead airbag was warm to touch and the lights in the car were shorting on and off continuously, even after the car was off and keys were out of ignition.last time in ocober 2013 had repair and bought anew battery because it run down after lights stayed on all night at the dealers until they worked on it.this was a very scary situation each time this happened because the car smelled like it was going to catch on fire! i burned my left hand fingers and went to urgent care upon returning home, luckily i was not too far away. I have paid for the repairs from pat moran's chevrolet and would like to warn you of the possible fire issue here. The stress from this experience was awful. This definitely should be on a recall for this vehicle, as i have heard others with the same problem occurring. .the simple fact is that the repair should of been done in october and this never happen again, but i know they did not replace the plastic covering also on the metal bar which extends the visor and this is where i touched it to turn and extend. I was told it was deemed safe from a repair in october, it was not. I may be possible that the high resistance short in the drivers side visor resulted in the bcm sensing an overcurrent issue. The bcm might of been removing power to that circuit as a matter of preservation. I do not feel safe driving this vehicle now after i have had another yet drivers visor put in and also a passenger side visor which is what the dealers blamed it on this time. Last time the blame was on a passenger pres module program-- .

The key stuck in the key lock cylinder and would not turn. The saturn vue 08 had to be towed to the dealer, and the key lock cylinder drilled out and replaced. The new key lock assembly is performing similar to the one that failed. The key sticks in the cylinder and requires 4 or 5 tries to turn the ignition on. It will not pull out easily, but jams at the inside edge where the metal shank of the key meets the black plastic key casing. The new key lock assembly metal cover on the steering column appears to be catching, and shows bending. The new key shows severe scratches. The replacement key lock assembly silver rectangular opening where one inserts the key does not appear to be sturdy enough, and it bends easily causing the key to catch. The problem is progressing, and the key is starting to stick as before, making it impossible to turn and start the car. This has happened in a poorly lit parking lot, in line at drive throughs, and at the filling station. The problem is worsening. The dealer promised that the initial $700-plus repair is under warranty, but did not keep the scheduled repair date.

For the last year, while driving at low speeds, and while stopped with the engine running, the engine will shut off. It won't restart for a few minutes, sometimes it will restart on first try. The electrical system (i'm guessing) makes a lot of clicking noises-from the engine and inside the car-dashboard lights will flicker, electric door and window lights on driver side door will flicker, airbags, hazards, radio lights will all flicker, and windows won't go up or down, or will slightly, door locks won't operate, etc. Electrical issues started the same night i purchased it sept. 2017 when the electrical system went haywire and the engine died and all the electrical light flickered. The dealer had it hooked up to a battery charger the next day and the battery died. In attempts to start the vehicle, we open and shut doors, try to use electrical functions (windows, door locks etc.), and that seems to help, as after a few minutes it will start, seemingly from opening and closing doors and the hatchback. The doors will not lock via the door lock/unlock button on the key fob. When doors are locked and alarm is set via keyfob (lights will flash and alarm noise will give noise to confirm it), however, the doors will open by just pulling on the handle, and alarm will go off. The steering has a leak that leaks out all the fluid in a day or two, as well.

When the vehicle is running, there are times when the air conditioner blows nothing but extremely hot air. It does not matter what you do with the controls. The fan is on high and the lights on the controls blink.

All of my dashboard lights including my brake light is on my emergency brake light beeps while i'm driving but it's not engaged my shifting is very choppy and i'm having a hard time with the tire pressure as well a few weeks ago i noticed that there was lights on my dashboard i went to a automobile place they erase all the codes so we could figure out what's going on with it and every single thing that could go wrong with it they're saying it's wrong with it but it still drives it has a hard time shifting and this is an automatic so i'm not in charge of the shift it's very choppy when it shifts into different gears the automobile place that it's either the computer or the transmission this car has mile number 134380 on it it always has the right amount of fluids in it i always get oil changes on time i have no clue what's going on with this car

The vehicle was taken to the dealer a second time where repairs were performed to the transmission. The contact was unaware of the exact repairs. Additionally, the contact stated the oil pressure light illuminated on the instrument panel. The dealer performed an oil change but the failure continued. The contact stated that the battery was replaced three times because the vehicle would not start. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 30,000.

I got in the vehicle and turn the ignition , the dashboard cluster warning lights lit up blinking off and on. The vehicle started with the warning lights continuing to blink off and on. I turned the ignition switch off and tried to start vehicle again, but it would not start and the dashboard did not light up, but rather only the mileage indicator dimly lit up. I waited 5 minutes and the vehicle started up with dashboard working properly. With months later on i noticed the ac would go haywire blowing hot air via vent and i could not turn it offor get any cold air to blow.this would all happen intermittently. Then the backup light would come on and off intermittently, but within a minute it would stay off. Then as time passed i noticed the low fuel indicator stayed on permemently and the airbag light and tire pressure light would come on intermittently when i turned left using the the turn signal and then off when i turn right using turn signal. I took it to dealership and they found multiple dtc of loss communication with various modules and loose negative terminal and had to recalibrate all ac actuators. I had checked the battery terminals prior to taking car into dealership and they were tight. I picked up the vehicle and noticed low fuel light was still on and on way home the heater came on full blast via vent and when i turned controls off nothing worked. Then the airbag light and tire pressure light came on like before intermittently. The next day the ac worked fine, but there is occationally a loud popping sound from underneith dash.i took it back to dealership and waiting to get the vehicle back.

The key will not release from the ignition when the shifter is put in park. The key stuck in the key lock cylinder and would not turn. All lights stay one in the vehicle

On friday october 26, 2018, my battery died.i had it replaced after the tow company diagnosed it.it was later discovered that the alternator was malfunctiong.my car on a busy intersection just died with on coming heavy traffic.i could not move or put it in nuetural to move it.it had to be jumped in order to clear the dangerous situation.my concern that the car just locked up, no power or ability to move.i could not use my hazard lights.a very unsafe situation.the vehicle was in motion and then i was accelerating then all of a sudden everything went dark. Please advise of what type of documentation you will need for this file?i am just writing because this was a safety related malfunctioning that was life threatening.

Exit and headed east to the walmart..the mechanic checked the battery anddecoded the suv and said that the problem was the wiring harnesses which rest on top of the battery.the main brain of the suv literally rest on top of the battery.the mechanic shook the harness and the suv cranked but the lights were dim and we drove it home.i looked at it the next day and the harness is fastened to the top of the battery and it wasn't completely fastened.when the person installed the new battery at autozone it must have not gotten completely fastened.i looked further and noticed that the conduit on all three branches had disintegrated and wires were exposed.there was a wire tie that was clipped below to the battery box and since the conduit disintegrated this causes the wires to pull out from the brain of the suv.i pulled the wires back up and wrapped these three branches with tape separately.at the bottom where the three went together,i put extra tape and another wire tie to the battery casing.it still jars loose on occasion and i can tell when the light dims at the odometer.i generally raise the hood and push on the first harness until the light stops dimming on the odometer.i won't drive this suv out of town.i think this was a poor design and gm could have put the brain somewhere else.i retired from gm's delphi packard electric division and used to check first piece sample wiring harnesses.i am thinking they probably used the wrong conduits because they weren't heat resistant,but these wires shouldn't shake loose unless they are unseated or broken.these three connections can completely shut the suv off even when you are driving if they come loose.

While backing out of a parking spot, my car just quit, locked up steering, everything dead.could not move the steering wheel or anything.car did start up again.drove down the road a 1/2 block and car stopped again, dead in road, no steering, could not operate door locks or anything. Car started again and managed to move the car to a safe spot before it went out again.nothing was workable.when the car was taken tochevrolet dealer in llano, tx it was diagnosed asthe positive connection to the main fuse box had come loose.the only fix was complete replacement of the fuse box assembly because the main positive lug to the fuse box is only held on by plastic.the design of this fuse box is definitely poor creating the possibility of a very dangerous situation.had i been driving on the highway at a high rate of speed when this occurred, the outcome could have been disastrous causing an accident and possible death.this poorly designed fuse box with main lug nut held by only plasticneeds to be addressed immediately to prevent future accidents and possible death to occupants of the vehicle.

Battery completely dead; there is an electrical circuit drawing power from the battery all the time causing it to drain with no start situation. This could become a safety issue if the car does not start in the middle of thenight in a parking lot. Took it to mechanic several times but the electrical draw could not be identified.

This is a continuous problem and, stability, antiskid lights stay on constantly. The car will die and restart whike driving. The ac blows from bottom heater vents. Battery will acts as if dead until i bang terminal with a hammer

The key gets stuck in the ignition switch when i park my car. I have the barrel two times 2017 and 2018. My key chain only has my car key and the remote and i'm the only driver. I have changed the barrel two times and apparently i have to do it again. This repair is very expensive and i feel very unsafe and i waste a lot of time waiting for the switch to release my key. I'm afraid i may damage the gear.

While driving in the rain with the air conditioner going, the air conditioner all of a sudden started blowing hot air and at the highest fan speed.at first we could not turn down the speed and then as we played with the dials we were able to get it down to the lowest speed. Because the air flow is always moving in the vue (according to the owners manual) were were not able to shut the fan off completely.even turning the air control unit to manual the heat continued to blow.the top of the unit was getting extremely hot to the touch. We were stopping for lunch with and when we returned after the meal the unit had reset itself and we had no more problems on the return trip from va to oh.on 8/23/11 the problem occurred again and only turning off the engine reset the unit.took the vue in for service and they reprogrammed the air conditioner, evaced (?) the unit and recharged with freon.two weeks later, on 9/6 /11 the same thing occurred twice within 6 hours.will be calling the dealership again.

They should be on the recall list for ignition cylinder steering wheel lock problems along with the other saturn vue models. Steering wheel locked and prevented me from leaving a nearly empty parking lot at dusk. I had no way to call for help from the car. I depend on onstar for emergency assistance where cell signals are weak.

While driving @ 60mph on i75 in toledo oh in the middle lane of highway vehicle shut down. I was able to drift over to curbside. Vehicle refused to restart i drained battery attempting to restart. My airbag sensor light has been on in my vehicle for approximately 3 months. When i turn key to start my vehicle i have no connection until i release key then it kicks in and starts. On occasion when depressing lever on gear shifter i hear a ticking sound in ignition switch. All mywarning lights in dash come on and some remin on until next start example: abs brake traction control seatbelt check engine. Etc

Now this is like the 5th time i think i have wrote a letter to this company and no one has answered me i've had problems with my car being parked on a hill and it rolls backwards when no one's inside of it and other little things thats on the saturn recall but my car is not on the list. But now i'm having a problem with my back door not shutting when i shut it it opens unexpectently.in the words of car talk it's called 1. Transmission case porosity at park pawl 2. Outside door handle sticks/bind. Also the interior lights on the trans stick is out, my warning dash boards light come in for no reason 1st it was oil light which i received an oil change a month ago and now it's the check engine light, car alarm goes off when the back door acts up. Now i hope to here from someone soon. I might go to the news cause i need help and you people not helping so that might make u move faster. Power steering would cut in and out while driving. Check lights would come on. Let car sit a bitrestart engine then would steer correctly but not for too long then steering would become very hard and check lights would come on again. A few days would pass without incident then it wouldfail to steer properly,(withoutpower). Took in and mechanic found a code for electric power steering motor failure andalsothe torque sensor,( steering colum angle sensor) was bad. I read an artical sometime in 2013that described my problem andit was being followed for a history but had not become a recall yet. Before wrinting this complaint form i reviewed my vin # and still no recall :(

While the vehicle is stationary in parked like mode, when going to start the engine, there is nothing.no clicking, no sound. Other times it will start but struggle and other times within seconds of the first 2 examples above, it will start right up.

My husband drove the car to florida . During the trip he noticed the lights out on the dashboard.he stopped for gas and went to turn it off .when he gabbed the key he noticed the lights on the radio came back on.a few hours later he noticed the lights out again.pulled into a gas station and carefully looked at the ignition switch and found the switch to be in between positions.this did not happen during his two week stay.but it happened on the way home.

Transmission stuttered once accelerating from a stop light, again later driving apprx 35 mph changing lanes; slight acceleration. Then noticed the engine light was on, so i pulled into a parking lot, stop the car and began checking the vehicle manual which indicated possible emission issues +++. Began researching where the closest gm dealer was located. I turned the engine on, put it in reverse, checking for clearance behind me then stepped on the accelerator.... The engine revved and the car started to drift forward towards the vehicle parked in front of me. "no reverse?" good thing i left plenty of parking clearance. I then researched were a transmission shop was located. After the vehicle ahead of me pulled out i was able to drive out of the shopping center... Once on the main road had to put the emergency lights on because the shifting into 3rd gear would like slip, going into a high rev, letting up off the accelerator allowed shifting to progress. Thank goodness the tranny shop was only 1/2 mile away.a couple of hours later the shop called that a couple of codes indicating possible electronic faults may be the cause. Now waiting for follow up.

Over the past year and half i've had numerous electrical issues. Head lights dimming and flashing at very high intervals almost like a dim strobe. Radio not turning on. Interior lights not coming on. Odometer light dims. Random dinging noise. Turn signal not always working or working sporadically. Front windshield wipers not always coming on and when they do it's sporadic. Rear windshield not coming on but will after an engine restart. Key stuck in the ignition. Hazard lights not working when engine is off. All this has happened slowly over the last year and half. I've replaced the battery twice and have had it in the shop multiple times and they can't find an issue. Everyone with these problems will tell you that a mechanic can't run a test for the problem if it's not happening at that time. We also all know too well these problems come and go very quickly and sometimes temporarily fix themselves with just an engine restart, driving over a bump (which also brings on the issues) or shaking the wire harness on top of the battery. So taking it to a shop to run a test is almost meaningless unless towed and even then it's not 100% chance you're going to get a code(s) to read. The last few months the problems have gotten worse. The big occurrence came when i was just two minutes down the road from where i live, i had the vue not start up or even turn over and the key was locked in the ignition. I opened up the hood, tapped once on the black box on top of the battery and the vue started dinging and was able to turn the vehicle on. I then drove to my house and the vehicle completely shut off on me and restarted twice within that two min drive. I lost total power and very limited control of the steering wheel. This issue has been brought up and complained about hundreds of times on the internet and has yet to be investigated. Please investigate this electrical issue. -11.4.17

When my vehicle is stopped i cannot rotate the ignition key to the off position.the problem was identified by the dealer as a faulty transmission park shifter.the car doesn't know what position the shift selector switch is "in" and doesn't signal the ignition.the windows won't come down with the car started, because the position of the car is not correct or not recognized.this is a dangerous defect, when you can't lower your windows or must leave the car running, for fear of auto theft.the other safety implications are not known as far as driving and can't lower windows or other mishap based on the unknown transmission selector switch position.there is a bulletin out #14633c, but it didn't cover my vin #, but i believe the recall or special adjustment should be expanded.

I have had electrical and climate control problems since i bought this car. Most of the a/c components have been replaced. Now i don't have any a/c at all.i've also had heating problems that required two different repairs which were very expensive. My car is garage kept, well maintained and it only has 30,000.

Key wouldn't engage in ignition and steering wheel locked up while parked.

When i'd use the windshield wipers, i lose all power to the drivers side headlight and the blinker would not work,all while the fluid is running out the back windshield wiper connection. I had the vue in for the same issue 4 times and was told this was a warranty issue at the beginning and when they finally fixed the grounding box and replaced the so called lifetime headlamp, i was charged 364.00. Not warranty covered. This started at around 36,000. Gm screwed us saturn owners big time.

The vehicle was at the dealership for a different repair.upon driving the car off the lot on friday, i noticed that the air bag light was illuminated.i immediately returned to the dealership.on the following monday, i was told that the air bag module had failed, causing the air bags to become inoperable.this car has experienced major electrical failures including ignition failure/replacement, hvac module failure/replacement, body control module failure/replacement, brake sensor failure/replacement and now the airbag module failure/replacement.this vehicle needs to be taken off of the roads due to severe safety hazards and systems failure.

Last summer the air worked on and off. Problems were when you first started driving and in traffic but otherwise worked well.this year it has not worked at all. It blows fine but it's only hot air.mechanic said freon was fine and could not correct the problem after trying everything he could.he replaced a switch or something which i can't recall right now but it didn't help. He is a well respected mechanic in the same place for over 20 years. I live in a very hot and humid area of the country and have medical issues which make driving the car a concern for me.i have read this is a common complaint with this car.

This is concerning as the recall is describing the exact problem w/ the car and has been diagnosed by a service professional. One of the connectors on my ecm somehow has become contaminated and is causing the car to unexpectedly die while in use. Also as a result, the tcs/esp/and check engine lights all come on and remain on until the computer can be reset.it has done so twice while my wife has been driving it on the highway, creating very dangerous situations. It strands her on the side of the road until we can get the car started again and off the highway. This has also happened while the car is idling, and while traveling at low speeds off the highway.i understand that only certain vins are involved in certain recalls, but since the problem in the recall bulletin linked above is happening to our vehicle and our vehicle's vin is not listed, i am concerned there could be others that are not aware of this and could become seriously injured when the vehicle shuts off.

The lights on the dash are sometimes on, sometimes not on or some of the lights come on but not others. We think there is an issue with the electrical/computersystem.

2008 saturn vue has electrical malfunction. 3 months ago i parked my car in the garage, turned car off but the key would not come out of the ignition. The car would not start either. Called a tow truck, took to local mechanic. He advised the ignition switch was faulty and installed new ignition. Today new electrical problem occurred. Airbag light came on and off multiple times then stayed on. When car was re started light was off but came back on after about 15 minutes. I believe this vehicle should have been included in recall. Passenger headlight went out.i attempted to fix it, but a new bulb doesn't resolve the issue.the protective cover over the wiring going to the light is melted and there are noticeable burn marks around the light and light housing.

While driving i noticed the tachometer, speedometer, compass, and outside temp gauges were not working.i arrived at my stop and turned the engine off.upon starting the engine and proceeding on home the gauges all worked fine and have done so since that day.after this happened, i noticed the automatic door locks no longer work. (which is a good thing in my opinion).this car has always had a history of the compass and temp gauge acting up.if it ain't broke they cannot fix it so they said at the dealer.along with the gauges not working at times, i cannot get the change oil light to reset.i just gave up on that as i did on the other gauges.i have chalked it up to another cheap gm product with poor customer relations at the saturn dealer before going out of business.no more gm products for me.

Both headlight wiring melted. Replaced both side headlights and after 2 years the wire harness melted againthe parking pawl gets stuck often. When putting the car in reverse the parking pawl gets stuck. Then it will eventually go into reverse but the car jerks and makes a clunking noise. The light issue i've been dealing with for the last 3 years now. The parking pawl issue has been like this for over a year now.

Driver side headlight went out and then came back on.then the next day it went out again and never came back on.took the headlight out and the connectors are melted..this i think is not good and its going to cost about $150 to fix

Driving at freeway speed my car turned offbrieflylocking the steering wheel. The car started again and we where able to pull oversafely. I checked and evaluated the car and we continued on. 35 miles later it did the same thing. When we stopped this time i removed the ignition key from the key ring and we traveled 500 miles to home. I had the ignition evaluated at victory layne chevy and they determined the ignition was worn and replaced it but would not cover it under the active gm ignition recall. It should be expanded to include saturns.

Since the saturn was purchased in october of 2013 it has had problems with the a/c and defrosters and sometimes heating, it works for about 10 to 15 minutes and quits and sometimes it does not work at all. Maybe not having a/c does not cause safety issues but not having defrosters work when it is pouring out and you can"t see out the window or when it is snowing and you can't defrost it off your windshield to see to drive then these things interfere with your safety.apparently this is a known issues with this make and model of car and should be a recall to have it corrected.2 years of this every summer and winter is quite enouugh.

Electrical issues with rear wiper and heating element(defogger) system. Pressing the rear defogger switch to turn on the heating element would instead start delivering windshield washing fluid continuously. Pressing the rear wiper switch would start the wiper in a very erratic and scary way. Whole system works in a spooky way.

Drove to a store .5 miles from my house noticed my car was smoking from under the hood. Drove back home, parked, and turned the car off, then raised the hood and the wire harness by my starter was on fire.

On 9/24/08 i purchased a 2008 saturn vue xr awd with 5945 miles on it at the time of purchase. It was a corporate fleet vehicle prior to my purchase. It has a "preferred package" including a factory-installed remote start.in the short 4 months i own it i have experienced a problem with the instrument cluster panel at least 10 times or more. Specifically, the instrument cluster display does not illuminate at all.no speedometer, no fuel gage, rpm's or turn signals yet the vehicle is in drive and running.what i've been experiencing typically happens when i use the remote keyless entry (rke) to remote start the vehicle & particularly when it's extremely cold or the vehicle has been sitting overnight for several hours. I remote start the vehicle then within 6-8 minutes i enter the vehicle using the unlock key on the remote. I put the key in the ignition and turn it to the "on" position which should then allow the vehicle to operate normally once it is put in gear.my vehicle's instrument cluster panel is completely dark with no display whatsoever yet the vehicle is running and in motion. One day i tried to remote start it as i usually do but it would not work even though i was in range and then when i put the key in the ignition it still would not start.on another day i was driving when suddenly the dashboard just went completely black for about 5 seconds and then came back on again. I have brought my vue back to the dealership 3 times already and they say they cannot duplicate the problem and there is nothing that they can do. I just have to wait until it happens again. Unacceptable response on saturn/gm's behalf. I know there is an electrical problem but they won't listen to me. I have also had a control arm bushing replaced already. The rear windshield washer fluid does not come out which they say was clogged & fixed. Thanks to nhtsa's website i was able to find a power steering recall that the dealer didn't address - my entire reservoir needed replacement.

While driving our 2008 saturn vue allthe instrument panel monitors disappeared - didn't know what gear, speed or gas gauge etc. Took it in to the dealers' where they figured it was the computer- as they could not reset it. After many days, this was not the problem so they put the original one back in. After talking to several friends who had a similar problem with a 2008 chevy blazer, they discovered that it was fluid in the throttle box -when we mentioned this to the service manager, the problem was quickly resolved!another time the engine light came on - we discovered that the problem wassimply that the gas cap has not been replaced properly. Seems it is very sensitive.

Vehicle hasn't retained correct amount of fuel. Vehicle has electrical and mechanical issues out of no where.driver seat has issues that will not allow for the seat to incline but only recline which happened while driving on city street. I'm scared to drive vehicle and i've only had it for almost 2 years.

The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that there was contamination in the brake fluid. As a result, the brake pads, the hoses, and the brake fluid were replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however; the contact stated that the failure recurred multiple times. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer wherethe brake fluid was flushed and the booster and master cylinder were replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was 105,000.

My door locks do not lock or unlock intermittently. It may be that the drivers door unlocks but none of the others and at times none but the rear hatch unlock and i have to crawl thru the suv to get doors opened. When none of the door locks open, the key will not unlock the door either. Also, about 1/3 of the time when you use the clicker to lock the doors, the horn sounds indicating it locked but when i check, some or none locked. When i shift into gear from park or back to park, the locks do not engage or disengage or only some do.i took it to my mechanic because someone said it might be the lock actuators but he said that it couldn't be if they open the doors locked or unlocked the doors some of the time.he said he had also had customers that owned gm cars having the same problems and that there had been a recall of gm models to correct it. I just want to know my locks are working properly. I won't leave anything in the car when shopping or parked because i can't trust that the doors locked.if i felt unsafe for any reason going to my car, i don't know if i would be able to get in and i don't know when i come out, if someone is already in my car.

It's my turn signals my locks and my flashers headlights

After sitting for awhile, i tried to use the key fob to unlock the car.it did nothing.i used the key then to unlock the doors and the dome lights did not work.however, the car started up with the second turn of the key.after driving home, the key fob worked again along with the dome lights.while driving at several other times, the radio will shut off and the clock will reset to midnight and the calendar will reset.this will happen while driving as well as when the engine is first started.this will happen at least once a week. This has been happening for several months now.

I replaced alernator starter and new battery and still having power issues with draining battery

Multiple electrical issues. Sometimes car would start and other times it wouldn't. The radio would turn off when turn signal turned on. The ignition would try and eat my key and not release it. The cd player would continue to cycle with key out of ignition. All power in car would reset.was just told that i would need a new control module.

I'm experiencing an engine light on all the time. Regardless of, the weather and after having my vehicle check for maintenance work. Had a vehicle diagnostic done and the results was a code 10. Which means cam actuator solenoid, 2008 saturn vues are known for this problem. Replace that part the engine have to be taken apart. This engine light stays on constantly. It been on since march 2014, if this problem is not handle my vehicle will start having problems starting and shutting down without my control while driving. This is apower drive and ignition/starter problem.can you please research this issue and assist me with this matter. All the dealer did since i couldn't buy a new vehicle was sent me on a test drive and while i was gone they went under the hood and made the light go off. That work for only a hour. Please response. We purchased a 2008 saturn vue on june 28, 2008.the past 3 weeks, the key would periodically not release from the ignition - service department replaced the shifter saying it was not completely going into park.also, the airbag light (for driver) starting blinking at the time the above occurred (this was also brought to their attention).when i started the car, it started to blink (only light blinking) and continued blinking when all other lights faded.no error message was received by the chip.mile one saturn claims that they could not replicate the air bag issue, therefore the service department perceived there was no issue and released the car to me.needless to say, i went back in and told them i was not taking the car until they fixed the problem.

I was concerned about the traction control/stabilitrak feature on my 2008 saturn vue redline.i've owned the vehicle for almost 16 months (purchased brand new) and within that time period the traction control/stabilitrak indicators turned on in the dic approximately 15-20 times.the vehicle then starts to jerk pretty rough.i need to pull of the road and shut down the vehicle then restart for the indicator lights to shut off.it happens at any given time most of the time in ideal conditions either on the highway or freeway.i've never taken the vehicle inbecause they always tell me they can't do anything unless they can reproduce the problem that i'm bringing in the vehicle for.i don't want to waste my time going there for no results being that there is only one dealership on the island.i'm not sure if it's an isolated condition or if other saturns have the same condition.the incident date is the last time the indicators went on.

Our 2008 saturn vue xe recently started locking up the abs and brakes while driving. It happens in stop and go traffic and most frighteningly at freeway speeds. The vehicle will apply the brakes at will for no reason and the abs and traction control indicators come on. We have had the vehicle serviced multiple times and we have replaced all brake hardware and the issue still exists. We have done countless hours of research and have found that hundreds of saturn, chevrolet, and commodore vehicles exhibit the same issues and general motors dealerships do not even have an answer. The vehicle brake issues render the vehicle inoperable and cause immediate slowness and inability to maneuver on the freeway when it locks up. We cannot use the vehicle and have exhausted all resources and options trying to fix the issue. It cannot be traded in with these issues either. Can somebody investigate possible recalls or dealer solutions so we can feel safe driving...with or without our small children. Please help.

All of my dashboard lights including my brake light is on my emergency brake light beeps while i'm driving but it's not engaged my shifting is very choppy and i'm having a hard time with the tire pressure as well a few weeks ago i noticed that there was lights on my dashboard i went to a automobile place they erase all the codes so we could figure out what's going on with it and every single thing that could go wrong with it they're saying it's wrong with it but it still drives it has a hard time shifting and this is an automatic so i'm not in charge of the shift it's very choppy when it shifts into different gears the automobile place that it's either the computer or the transmission this car has mile number 134380 on it it always has the right amount of fluids in it i always get oil changes on time i have no clue what's going on with this car

While in motion the front brakes started to engage themselves. Vehicle did not want to move very well.vehicle slowed down quickly when letting off the gas pedal came to a stop without pressing the brake. Pulled over and both front wheels were smoking.

Have had to replace the steering column twice due to anti lock brake and traction control issues. Both system lights are on the dash. Problem is intermittent but the only fix is a steering column which are hard to find. Has been going on for 2 years

Around june 22, 2017he anti-lock brake system abs, traction control tc/esp elec. Stability, awd all-wheel drive, and brake warning and indicator lights stay on and will not reset according to the manual indicating the systems are not functioning/powered on and/or not working properly. On may 9, 2017 scott automotive put new brakes on the car. They could not get a reading from the abs/tc control system and suggested taking it to a dealer - it would not communicate. A tire pressure light came on as well and later in the week, carter auto repair replaced the tire pressure sensor and stated with the correct reading equipment the abs/tc still was not communicating and also suggested having gm perform a reading. Gm technicians' online responses to forum complaints of 2008 saturn vue (and other models) stability track system and transmission issues lead me to believe gm is aware of the problems but have yet to take recall action to address them. The vehicle runs through a self-check of the sensors when the car is parked with only the awd light blinking and the normal all lights flash on the dash and then the brake, abs, both tc/esp lights come on and stay on and the awd light continues to blink. From what i have read, the traction control/electronic stability and abs are not on and working so i am hoping when i take the car to gm on wednesday they will offer to replace the vehicle because i purchased this vehicle for my mother because it has a 5-star safety rating and it is no longer safe for her to drive if she is in an accident and the brakes lock up and she skids across the highway.

After sitting for awhile, i tried to use the key fob to unlock the car.it did nothing.i used the key then to unlock the doors and the dome lights did not work.however, the car started up with the second turn of the key.after driving home, the key fob worked again along with the dome lights.while driving at several other times, the radio will shut off and the clock will reset to midnight and the calendar will reset.this will happen while driving as well as when the engine is first started.this will happen at least once a week. This has been happening for several months now.

Car started again and managed to move the car to a safe spot before it went out again.nothing was workable.when the car was taken tochevrolet dealer in llano, tx it was diagnosed asthe positive connection to the main fuse box had come loose.the only fix was complete replacement of the fuse box assembly because the main positive lug to the fuse box is only held on by plastic.the design of this fuse box is definitely poor creating the possibility of a very dangerous situation.had i been driving on the highway at a high rate of speed when this occurred, the outcome could have been disastrous causing an accident and possible death.this poorly designed fuse box with main lug nut held by only plasticneeds to be addressed immediately to prevent future accidents and possible death to occupants of the vehicle.

Got in car and noticed that my radio had been reset, and that my car wouldn't start. I got a jump from my insurance company, and shortly after turning on the air, the odometer panel faded off. You can no longer see the odometer reading or the outside weather temp.the car also delays when it starts. Sometime it wont even start the first time around, unless you pump at the pedal a few times.this car has had several recalls in the past, and i am almost certain none of the recalls were fixed by the gm dealership that sold it to me in 2011.

The first thing that failed on the car was the keyless start.it failed less than seven months after purchase.last winter, we noticed the electronic stability failed and no longer worked.on 6/24/2008; the transmission failed.we get the transmission fluids checked every oil change and everything seemed to be working fine.two weeks ago, the car started making rubbing noises until now the transmission actually failed.car transmissions should last at least 100k miles.with the history of saturn vues having transmission issues, this one has now failed us.

The transmission was slipping between 45-50 mph at about 1500-2000 rpms the only way to avoid it was using the manual mode. It was only happening after the vehicle was warmed up too by the end of my 200 mile drive today it was slipping bad and it has fluid i topped it off this morning hoping that was the problem but it was not and i consistently checked it throughout the drive and it did not go down or lose fluid.

I have a problem with my transition. I know there was a recall and was never notified. When i called about the recall the woman on the other end said i wasn't able to be included that's why i wasn't notified. The recall stated any owner. As even though i was sold the car as new, there had been a previous owner. I bought the car with 420 miles. My car will not shift into gear sometimes, when in park it rolls about 8 to 10 inches. When my car won't shift my check engine light comes on. I use the tiptronic shift and where there should be a 1 for first gear there is nothing. On the high way when i step on the gas my car won't shift to a higher gear to pick up speed

Upon trying to accelerate, the "kicked" and jerked, then slowed slightly. When traveling uphill, and parking, transmission seemed not to have enough power. Rolls backwards while idle before taking off.

Over the past year and half i've had numerous electrical issues. Head lights dimming and flashing at very high intervals almost like a dim strobe. Radio not turning on. Interior lights not coming on. Odometer light dims. Random dinging noise. Turn signal not always working or working sporadically. Front windshield wipers not always coming on and when they do it's sporadic. Rear windshield not coming on but will after an engine restart. Key stuck in the ignition. Hazard lights not working when engine is off. All this has happened slowly over the last year and half. I've replaced the battery twice and have had it in the shop multiple times and they can't find an issue. Everyone with these problems will tell you that a mechanic can't run a test for the problem if it's not happening at that time. We also all know too well these problems come and go very quickly and sometimes temporarily fix themselves with just an engine restart, driving over a bump (which also brings on the issues) or shaking the wire harness on top of the battery. So taking it to a shop to run a test is almost meaningless unless towed and even then it's not 100% chance you're going to get a code(s) to read. The last few months the problems have gotten worse. The big occurrence came when i was just two minutes down the road from where i live, i had the vue not start up or even turn over and the key was locked in the ignition. I opened up the hood, tapped once on the black box on top of the battery and the vue started dinging and was able to turn the vehicle on. I then drove to my house and the vehicle completely shut off on me and restarted twice within that two min drive. I lost total power and very limited control of the steering wheel. This issue has been brought up and complained about hundreds of times on the internet and has yet to be investigated. Please investigate this electrical issue. -11.4.17

For the last year, while driving at low speeds, and while stopped with the engine running, the engine will shut off. It won't restart for a few minutes, sometimes it will restart on first try. The electrical system (i'm guessing) makes a lot of clicking noises-from the engine and inside the car-dashboard lights will flicker, electric door and window lights on driver side door will flicker, airbags, hazards, radio lights will all flicker, and windows won't go up or down, or will slightly, door locks won't operate, etc. Electrical issues started the same night i purchased it sept. 2017 when the electrical system went haywire and the engine died and all the electrical light flickered. The dealer had it hooked up to a battery charger the next day and the battery died. In attempts to start the vehicle, we open and shut doors, try to use electrical functions (windows, door locks etc.), and that seems to help, as after a few minutes it will start, seemingly from opening and closing doors and the hatchback. The doors will not lock via the door lock/unlock button on the key fob. When doors are locked and alarm is set via keyfob (lights will flash and alarm noise will give noise to confirm it), however, the doors will open by just pulling on the handle, and alarm will go off. The steering has a leak that leaks out all the fluid in a day or two, as well.

Vehicle won't shift gears one i get to third.was not notified of wave plate special warranty and now i'm 4000 miles past accepted miles. Gm suggests that i wait until full recall is forced on them. Please help

I understand saturns have had issues in the past with timing chains for which they did a recall.i have a 2008 saturn vue that i have had ongoing issues with since i bought it.i was just told noise the vehicle is making is the timing chain however i cant find anywhere that they have a recall for the 2008 saturns.i am reporting this to avoid future incidents in case the timing chain results in a incident.i cannot afford to replace something that is suppose to last the life of the vehicle.

Car goes into redused engine power on the highway. Engine shuts down completely. Pull over shut off car wait and restart car. Sometimes it happenes again right away sometimes it doesnt happen for months later.

"takata recall" my 2008 saturn vue has been recalled for 3 items, all of which i am experiencing issues with but according to my vin number my vehicle does not apply for these recalls. I did receive a notice a few years ago but since my vehicle was still okay at the time, i never brought it in. The 3 recalls are as follows: 1. Latches/locks/linkages:doors:latch, 2. Power train:automatic transmission, 3. Steering:hydraulic power assist:hose, piping, and connections. My vehicle is currently at mike anderson chevrolett due to these issues but the only item that's appearing covered is the transmission. I don't understand how my vin has anything to do with the recall when all the 2008 saturn vue's are made with the same parts. I would like an investigation to be made due to my vehicle falling under the recall category but not falling under the correct vin number category. My vehicle currently won't allow me to go pass 40mph, my steering wheel gets locked making it hard for me to turn and there is a leak, also when my locks are unlocked the handles still won't open as if it's still locked. Immediate attention is respectfully requested.

I was driving down fm 1960 i saw white smoke coming from under the hood and through the vents. I turned off the air condition; then grey smoke start being visible from the under the hood. I came to a yellow light and tried to brake but the brakes did not work. When i was able to get the truck to stop, a cloud of black smoke came from the glove compartment and floor board areas. I exited the vehicle and about 30 seconds later the flames engulfed the truck.

Once i start driving my automatic 2008 saturn vue after a couple of minutes it willnot accelerate much. Its like the shifts get stuck around 3rd or so and it smells like burn.

October 22 2020 my husband and i had purchased a 2008 saturn vue (lic plate # 6ezz507)from a private party. On march 25 2021 the car suddenly engulfed in flames then exploded. My husband managed to exit the vehicle in just seconds before the car exploded. We've come to find out afterwards that this particular year,make,model had been recalled. Is there anything could possibly be done?

This is concerning as the recall is describing the exact problem w/ the car and has been diagnosed by a service professional. One of the connectors on my ecm somehow has become contaminated and is causing the car to unexpectedly die while in use. Also as a result, the tcs/esp/and check engine lights all come on and remain on until the computer can be reset.it has done so twice while my wife has been driving it on the highway, creating very dangerous situations. It strands her on the side of the road until we can get the car started again and off the highway. This has also happened while the car is idling, and while traveling at low speeds off the highway.i understand that only certain vins are involved in certain recalls, but since the problem in the recall bulletin linked above is happening to our vehicle and our vehicle's vin is not listed, i am concerned there could be others that are not aware of this and could become seriously injured when the vehicle shuts off.

I had been out to lunch and was pulling into a parking place in my workplace parking lot.i eased into the parking space and nudged the gas to get completely in the space.when i nudged the gas, my car accelerated on its own with such a force the car went over a concrete barrier in the parking space and i then hit a brick and concrete wall that was knocked down.an iron railing was on top of the concrete and that got smashed as well.my car was moving at such a fast and furious speed i had no control over it.as a result, my car was totaled due to the repairs that were necessary.this exact thing happened exactly three years ago in this car and it was the same situation.i was pulling into a parking place at a shopping mall and as i eased on the gas to pull into the space, again, my car accelerated out of control and i hit a truck that was in the space in front of where i was pulling in and my car stopped when it hit the car next to the truck.my car was repairable.thankfully, both of these times i was in the car alone.i have called gm/saturn and made a complaint with them....updated 09/28/15

While driving on the freeway the car would beep 3 time while lights flash on the dash. I would lose power steering and the engine would shut off. ... Usually would start back up if i waited long enough. This has happened to me quite a few times. I have been also on a street going 35 miles an hour and same thing would happen. The last time i tried to drive it i put my keys in and cant get them out. .

I have a saturn vue and am going to be having another baby, i have been told by my car seat inspector that the only safe and correct place to install a forward facing car seat is in the center seat, however the vehicle is not wide enough to then fit an infant car seat next to it.i am not willing to compromise the safety of my children because saturn cannot design a back seat to accommodate child car seats.i have had little help or suggestions about what can be done to remedy the situation and do not want to be stuck with a vehicle that is not safe for my family to be in.

I picked up my brand new 2008 saturn vue from the dealer september 27th, 2007.upon driving it to my office i noticed a squeaking noise coming from the passenger side to which the sales person advised it was because they had stored the cars in doors.knowing nothing about cars i took the car and left.shortly after that i noticed the noise upon starting the car.i have taken my car in 3 times since picking it up for this issue and have been advised that saturn designed the car this way which does not seem logical to me.now i am at about 1,200 miles (it had 300 on it when i purchased it which seems now suspect to me) and the squeaking issues has gotten louder and more frequent.i have since contacted the dealer and am awaiting a response.

Engine overheating warning like came on and then the check engine light. Took it immediately into dealership who informed me that head gasket blew and i need new motor-had no coolant. Wasn't aware of any leaks or problems. 3 weeks before my dash lights went out while driving. Now the odometer reading indicates 7000 miles more than what it should be.

I bought a 2008 saturn view and had it 3 months 2,000 miles. August 1,2008. I was driving it down brandt pike and all a sudden smoked started pouring out around the hood and into the car. It had a terrible smell to it, like burning plastic and chemicals. I got out of the car as fast as i could. A guy popped the hood and it was a blazing. Fire dept was there.

While saturn was still in business, the front engine seal went out between 25-30,000 miles. This was covered under warranty. Now at 55,000 miles the head gasket is leaking antifreeze right front. Really,at 55,000 miles! what's next? by the way the front crank seal is leaking again.

I have a 2008 saturn vue. At 52000 miles my warning light for my temperature overheating came on. My coolant tank was empty. My coolant level sensor did not come on. My temperature light came on only when mytank was empty. I was told by the dealership that my heater core had went out. Because of this coolant leaked under my dash into my car. I was told it had nothing to do with anything i had not done. It just happens. When i was at the dealership a 2007 outlook came in with the same problem. Saturn replaced the heater core at a discount cost to me. I also was having a rattling sound under my hood. No one could tell me what it was. The sound started from the time i bought my vue in 10/08. It had 22 miles on the vue at the time. I would call and as if anyone else had this problem and was told no. Each time i would go to take it in to be check, the vue would not make the sound. I was also told, because it was a new engine it will make sounds until the engine had some miles put on it. When i took it in for the heater core problem, that is when i was told it has the heat shield. It was fixed at a cost to me. My question also is why would it not be covered and why wasn't the heater core cover under the powertrain control system warranty.if the coolant sensor would had came on before the tank was empty, it could have saved my heater core.

I own a 08 saturn vue. The car was a year old before the problem started. My car started having a very caustic odor that made your eyes burn as well as your throat.i took it to the dealer several times & they said there was nothing wrong & put air freshener in the vents.needless to say, 4 months later i am still battling with them about this issue & we have filed a formal complaint with gm. The odor is also corroding the inside of my car. It is not only corroding metal tie downs in the back of the car, creating an oily film on the windows, but eating the laminate off parts inside the car. Saturn honestly does not know what is wrong with the car. The local dealer is doing what they can.it is gm that is being difficult.we finally have them convinced to do an air quality test while driving the car.the ft. Worth police forensic lab said there is an acidity to the air. They took several samples to run tests, which we are currently waiting the results.the frustrating part is their denial that there was anything wrong with the car & even after we proved to them that there was corrosion issues.i am seriously concerned for my health after breathing this toxic air for 4 months & anyone else out there that is having the same issues & not getting anywhere with saturn or gm.your attention to this issue is greatly appreciated.

On 9/24/08 i purchased a 2008 saturn vue xr awd with 5945 miles on it at the time of purchase. It was a corporate fleet vehicle prior to my purchase. It has a "preferred package" including a factory-installed remote start.in the short 4 months i own it i have experienced a problem with the instrument cluster panel at least 10 times or more. Specifically, the instrument cluster display does not illuminate at all.no speedometer, no fuel gage, rpm's or turn signals yet the vehicle is in drive and running.what i've been experiencing typically happens when i use the remote keyless entry (rke) to remote start the vehicle & particularly when it's extremely cold or the vehicle has been sitting overnight for several hours. I remote start the vehicle then within 6-8 minutes i enter the vehicle using the unlock key on the remote. I put the key in the ignition and turn it to the "on" position which should then allow the vehicle to operate normally once it is put in gear.my vehicle's instrument cluster panel is completely dark with no display whatsoever yet the vehicle is running and in motion. One day i tried to remote start it as i usually do but it would not work even though i was in range and then when i put the key in the ignition it still would not start.on another day i was driving when suddenly the dashboard just went completely black for about 5 seconds and then came back on again. I have brought my vue back to the dealership 3 times already and they say they cannot duplicate the problem and there is nothing that they can do. I just have to wait until it happens again. Unacceptable response on saturn/gm's behalf. I know there is an electrical problem but they won't listen to me. I have also had a control arm bushing replaced already. The rear windshield washer fluid does not come out which they say was clogged & fixed. Thanks to nhtsa's website i was able to find a power steering recall that the dealer didn't address - my entire reservoir needed replacement.

Webasto hollandia 600 sun roof completely detached from the car while driving on the pa turnpike.i am the original owner of the car and it was installed prior to my picking it up at the faulkner dealership, saturn of jenkintown. The roof was installed by.rsc restyling in levittown, pa.i took the car to faulkner gm in trevose, pa for repairs and contacted my auto insurance company. A few days later i found out that the sun roof manufacturer had issued a recall notice for this exact problem. The sun roof was replaced at rsc and i attempted to find out why i was never notified of the recall. Faulkner gm wasn't aware of the recall notice. I contacted the owner of rsc restyling, [xxx}, who told me that the vehicle id numbers of cars that had these roofs installed were forwarded to the manufacturer. The manufacturer's reps claimed that my vin was never provided to them. Therefore nobody was responsible for the circumstances that could have easily resulted in a catastrophe.a defect might apply to a water leak, noise, vibration, faulty operation. This "defect" is more aptly defined as risking a catastrophe. Our 2008 saturn vue xe recently started locking up the abs and brakes while driving. It happens in stop and go traffic and most frighteningly at freeway speeds. The vehicle will apply the brakes at will for no reason and the abs and traction control indicators come on. We have had the vehicle serviced multiple times and we have replaced all brake hardware and the issue still exists. We have done countless hours of research and have found that hundreds of saturn, chevrolet, and commodore vehicles exhibit the same issues and general motors dealerships do not even have an answer. The vehicle brake issues render the vehicle inoperable and cause immediate slowness and inability to maneuver on the freeway when it locks up. We cannot use the vehicle and have exhausted all resources and options trying to fix the issue. It cannot be traded in with these issues either. Can somebody investigate possible recalls or dealer solutions so we can feel safe driving...with or without our small children. Please help.

Both headlight wiring melted. Replaced both side headlights and after 2 years the wire harness melted againthe parking pawl gets stuck often. When putting the car in reverse the parking pawl gets stuck. Then it will eventually go into reverse but the car jerks and makes a clunking noise. The light issue i've been dealing with for the last 3 years now. The parking pawl issue has been like this for over a year now.

Driver side headlight went out and then came back on.then the next day it went out again and never came back on.took the headlight out and the connectors are melted..this i think is not good and its going to cost about $150 to fix

This is a continuous problem and, stability, antiskid lights stay on constantly. The car will die and restart whike driving. The ac blows from bottom heater vents. Battery will acts as if dead until i bang terminal with a hammer

Passenger headlight went out.i attempted to fix it, but a new bulb doesn't resolve the issue.the protective cover over the wiring going to the light is melted and there are noticeable burn marks around the light and light housing.

Now this is like the 5th time i think i have wrote a letter to this company and no one has answered me i've had problems with my car being parked on a hill and it rolls backwards when no one's inside of it and other little things thats on the saturn recall but my car is not on the list. But now i'm having a problem with my back door not shutting when i shut it it opens unexpectently.in the words of car talk it's called 1. Transmission case porosity at park pawl 2. Outside door handle sticks/bind. Also the interior lights on the trans stick is out, my warning dash boards light come in for no reason 1st it was oil light which i received an oil change a month ago and now it's the check engine light, car alarm goes off when the back door acts up. I have replaced my headlights 4 times(both sides) and wire harness keeps melting. I have made a complaint before and received no response. I have now purchased the wire harness and i hope this will not burn also. 2. The car jumps when shifting in reverse which indicates the parking pawl. This has been an issue for over a year now and no response returned. 3. Water is leaking into my car. The front and backseat floors are soaked. Looks like the seal around the firewall is not sealing properly. I saw multiple people have the same issue on the 2008-2010 saturn vue. Why isn't there a recall? this could cause a major electrical issue.

"check engine" light came on.fault code p0446.gas tank hisses loudly when i undo the gas cap.loud popping sound (like pressure releasing from a plastic bottle when air is sucked out and then air is allowed to re-enter),from under the car.i am concerned that my gas tank could rupture, leak or explode and catch fire.

At 200 miles, the check engine light came on. Took the car to the dealer. Told me that i probably didn't put the gas cap on properly. They re-set the check engine light. At 800 miles, the check engine light came on again. I returned to the dealer. They were able to detect 2 error codes on the computer. They examined the car and determined that there was a small hole on the flange of the fuel pump. They replaced the fuel pump and re-set the check engine light. Car has been running fine since. Old fuel pump is not available.

I bought this car april 23, and the following week i began to have problems. At 200 miles the check engine light came on. I took it to the dealer and they said it was the evap canister. But i was also experiencing problems with the automatic transmission trying to switch gears. The vehicle would hesitate when i pressed down on the gas and then it would redline and kick in to the next gear. But it would not stay constant. The vehicle would abruptly downshift on flat ground and on slight grades. The dealership said the problem was fixed, but as i drove off it happened again. I ended up having to schedule another appt for them to look at the vehicle. Then when they looked at it again they said the computer system in the vehicle wasn't working correctly so they said they fixed it. Well when i drove off about 25 miles down the road the problem occurred again. When i try to slow down the brake pedal would go to the floor. I have almost been in a few accidents because of this. The problem occurred at 30mph-60mph. It also rolls back when in the drive way or at a slight incline at a stop sign/light. This vehicle is not safe. Im schedule for another appt. Once again to try and resolve the problem.

"takata recall" my 2008 saturn vue has been recalled for 3 items, all of which i am experiencing issues with but according to my vin number my vehicle does not apply for these recalls. I did receive a notice a few years ago but since my vehicle was still okay at the time, i never brought it in. The 3 recalls are as follows: 1. Latches/locks/linkages:doors:latch, 2. Power train:automatic transmission, 3. Steering:hydraulic power assist:hose, piping, and connections. My vehicle is currently at mike anderson chevrolett due to these issues but the only item that's appearing covered is the transmission. I don't understand how my vin has anything to do with the recall when all the 2008 saturn vue's are made with the same parts. I would like an investigation to be made due to my vehicle falling under the recall category but not falling under the correct vin number category. My vehicle currently won't allow me to go pass 40mph, my steering wheel gets locked making it hard for me to turn and there is a leak, also when my locks are unlocked the handles still won't open as if it's still locked. Immediate attention is respectfully requested.

Vehicle hasn't retained correct amount of fuel. Vehicle has electrical and mechanical issues out of no where.driver seat has issues that will not allow for the seat to incline but only recline which happened while driving on city street. About 8 months ago my check engine light came on so i took it to a dealership to have the code read. They told me it was the evaporative emissions system. It sounded serious so i said just fix it. $600 later my car was running great with no problems. About a week ago my check engine light came on for the same reason. Dealership wont fix it again and basically told me they have done all they can do. They dont know what it is. Everytime i fill my gas tank my car takes about 10 minutes to start again and it struggles. Lots of sputtering and most of the time it starts then dies. Ive been told i wasn't the cause and its probably just a faulty gas cap so i replaced that and the light is still on after having it cleared. Their other explanation was its a saturn so expect problems. I was not happy to hear that. They replaced the purge valve, vent valve, checked for leaks and everything. There is no reason it should be messed up again especially this soon after replacement. Other than that my car runs great after 4 years of owning and driving it all over the state.

When it snows my driveway is on a hill and my car is in park it rolls backwards down the hill and ill look outside to find it moved from were i left it. Now for the last few weeks if i park at the store, school,joband get ready to go try to shift the car on drive when i step on the brake to shift it i hear and feel click sound and cant move the gear.

Safety recall for 2008 saturn vue with same color door handles would be replaced with chrome handles.my 2008 saturn vue has the same color door handles and when i took it into the dealership, they stated that they would not replace the handles because the vin wasn't part of the recall.however, my door handles have stuck in the open position several times.knowing of the recall, i'm very careful to make sure that the door handle latches and the door closes.although i'm careful, my passengers may not notice it and could possibly have the door open on them.

The car is a 2008 saturn vue 4 cylinder automatic with two main safety problems. Problem one is the car will lock you out automatically with the keys in the ignition. Car can be running or shut off. This happened twice with my son in the car. This has happened about 14 times. Luckily i had the windows rolled down and was able to access the car. Saturn has repeated this problem on other vue and deems it a "normal function" even though the owners manuals says there is a function in the car engineered into it to prevent you from locking your keys in the car accidentally. Again this happens automatically a minute or two after exiting the car. Problem two, transmission abruptly downshifts and accelerates on flat ground or slight grades while in cruise control. This also happens sometimes when cruise controls is disengaged as well. My wife almost lost control of the vehicle one due to this on a curving road going up hill. I almost hit a vehicle when this happened as well. Multiple dates of these problems happening. This is an intermittent problem and happens between 40 and 60 mph. The vehicle has been in the shop 47 days since it has been purchased.

I own a 2008 saturn vue and my door latches and handles have failed on numerous occasions.passenger side handle sticks and can not be opened from either inside or outside. Passengers have had to crawl over the seats to exit.the driver side door latch and handle doesn't fully catch even though it appears to be in a locked position.this door has opened while i was driving. On 2/23/09- my husband opened the hatchback of my 2008 saturn vue. He noticed the hatchback a bit heavy and after lifting it, he naturally let it go. I was already starting to put groceries when the door fell down. Luckily, my husband was quick and caught the door before it crushed my arm. He opened it again and then realized thepneumatic lifts were not working.

We a 2008 saturn vue on june 28, 2008. 4 months ago, i started being "shocked" when exiting/closing the drivers door on all occasions, this occasionally happens to passengers too. One can actually see the shock strike which leaves a dull aching pain in a finger on my left hand. We have tried seat covers, static guard, dryer sheets, but nothing solves or lessens the issue. Main concern is when fueling because it could very well cause an explosion or fire. We think there is some type of electrical short, but the service department dismissed our claim without checking and states that it is caused by the materials used in making the seats, issues still exists. For past 6 months, we've experienced a terrible vibration coming from and occurs when the sun roof is open.service depart claims this is a normal occurrence with sun roofs, but it did not occur during the first 6 months of owning it.we tried riding with all windows down while the roof is open, still occurs. Outcome - we are unable to use the sun roof because it causes a very painful vibration in our eardrums, i was told by an ent our eardrums could be damaged with continuous use. Third issue occurred 2 months after purchasing. The passenger door handle sometimes "sticks" open.the door will shut, but we do not receive any sounds or light indication that this is occurring. It appears that even though the door seems to be shut, it is not latching. I was going around a curve andthe door swung open, luckily there was no passenger sitting there. This is a potential life safety issue on the vehicle. This is a new 2008 saturn vue rl (red line). After purchase i was reviewing manual on the autolocking door systems. It stated that system could be reprogrammed. The issue is that when vehicle is stopped and placed in park - all 4 doors are automatically unlocked. I wanted to changed this for safety results. First if you either drive up to an atm late at night or park your vehicle in a dark area - once you put vehicle into park - all door are unlocked. This give an opportunity for someone to enter into the vehicle and put you into a possible life safety situation. Another issue is that if you have young children in the vehicle and once again you stop and place the vehicle into park all doors are unlocked - the children can open the door(s) and jump into traffic or a dangerous situation.i have spoke to both the local dealer and saturn's main customer service group. Their answer and response is that on the rl model - the autolocking sequence cannot be reprogrammed. It is something that i need to live with. They understand the life safety impact but do not have or plan to fix this situation.

Driving on highway at 70 mph with my wife and 3 kids car reduced gear from 6 to 5 and i lost ability to accelerate and almost got rear ended by the car behind me because of sudden loss of speed without applying the brakes and sending the warning by the brake lights to the car behind me. Car just started to slow down but whoever was driving behind me couldn't know that because of no warning. Transmission valve plate 35r failed which is a very common issue in this car and model. There should be recall in my opinion. I read many people's reports of that happening and almost causing an accident. Does someone need to get hurt or killed to get this recall done?

I purchased a 2008 saturn vue october 31, 2011 and by july 5, 2013 my transmission went out.i went to get in my car going to work and the truck would not reverse.no warranty would cover the cost.

Driving on interstate 10 pensacola fl heading northwest going 70-75 miles an hour semi truck about 2 car lengths behind me i m int the right lane cars to my left traffic is heavy 3:45 in the pm. My car makes chunk then a bump engine shuts off no power no power steering semi locks up his brakes almost hits me pulled the car to side of the road. After i collected myself car wont turn over no smoke or fluids popped the hood nothing to indicate what happened. Had it towed to vinnc whibbs i was told the engine locked up no reason why. Put a new engine in found out in fact it was the transmission which caused the engine to lock up. I did research on this and come to find out it is a defective part in gm cars int the transmission the 35r wave plate has not been properly heat treated and can cause transmission failure it affects hundreds of thousands of cars 2007-2009 saturns. Taverse, acadia, outlook, malibu, arura. Gm knows about this defect but wont do a recall. This is wrong as a consumer im suppose to be protected by law from defective products. This dept the nhtsa has looked in to this issue and your dept has detirmened it to be a defective part but no safety issues, i be g to differ i was almost in a terrible accident due to this defective part. Once again gm has a defective product, and no one is doing anything about it how many lives lost does it take before we take action.

Since we have had this vehicle the transmission keeps messing up. The transmission slips after it is put in gear. Once put in gear and the accelerator pedal is pressed there is lag between the sound of the engine rpm increasing and the gears engaging and the car taking off. The vehicle also rolls backwards a worrying amount when it is placed in park. Also when you go to drive the vehicle doesn't wan to go out of the low gear. This has happened not once or twice this is consistent. We have kept it maintained since we bought it. The most recent was just 2 days ago.

Without any warning in forward gear the car would not go .i would go into gear on the lever but would only move a little. It made the motor seemed fine. I was on flat ground i my driveway

Pulled out from a stop sign, at normal speed. And the car wouldn't shift out of second gear. Pulled over right away to avoid an accident. The car was in very good running condition with reg maintenance on car. I had a small child in the car with me at this time. I had to make it home going 5-10 mph. This should have not happened at this low of miles and reg maintenance on car. Why is there no recall?

My 2008 saturn vue engine size 3600cc, 6 cylinders has been feeling like the transmission is slipping when you get up to a certain speed and this could be very harmful to other drivers that are driving.. Sometimes the car won't go into park or reverse and i feel that since there are 3 recalls on my vehicle and i was never notified that the gm place should have to fix this because someone could get hurt really badly if the transmission locks up while going down the road.

After conducting some research on the internet, it appears this failure is not uncommon with the saturn vue and related gm stable mates (chevrolet equinox / gmc acadia / pontiac torrent...). A total failure of the 3-5-r wave plate has the potential to strand drivers at inopportune times; fortunately we were able to get the car to the dealership under its own power.

Transmission fault and/or check engine light with code p0716, p0776, p0717, p0777, p2714, p2715, and/or p02723 on saturn vuevehicles with a 6speed automatic transmission may develop one or more of the following faults related to a broken 35r clutch wave plate inside the transmission: illumination of the check engine light with code p0716, p0776, p0717, p0777, p2714, p2715, and/or p02723, loss of reverse gear, slipping or harsh 3rd or 5th gear shift. Removal and dis-assembly of the transmission will be required to replace the broken 35r wave plate. It is also extremely important that all debris from the failed part be cleaned from the transmission while it is disassembled in order to try and prevent future problemsthis affected 4 model years:2003, 2006, 2008 and 2009why wasn't a recall done on this?now i'm out of pocket for the expense of replacing my transmission.

I was driving with my family in the car, going around another stalled vehicle on the highway when i was not able to accelerate past 25 mph.my vehicle acted like it went into neutral, when it should have gone into 3rd gear.i was able to maneuver the vehicle to the side of the road with only brakes and steering.if this had happened while trying to merge onto the highway, i could have been rear ended.from the research i have done online it appears that gm is aware of a faulty 3-5-r wave-plate used within many of their 6 forward gear transmissions used on vehicles from 2007 to 2009.i believe this part should be replaced through a recall to avoid any serious future injuries in all vehicles using this transmission with the faulty wave-plate.i believe this includes 6t70 and 6t75 transmissions in vehicles from 2007-2209.

While attempting to merge from 38th street tacoma to i5 north accelerated from the off ramp vehicle tachometer climbed, loss of acceleration-power, transmission failure. Shifted to neutral then back to drive with no result. Almost got rear ended by i5 drivers doing 60-65 with my vehicle slowing, shifted into neutral again then back to drive for second time with no result, almost got hit a 4th time, vehicle finally responded to 4th gear in manual mode.vehicle operated poorly for next few miles until i was able to get off the interstate.vehicle had to be towed to dealership.there are numerous incidents of the saturn/gm products that have a defective 35 wave plate associated with the transmission.this vehicle has been serviced regularly last service was 7 days prior to this near accident no error codes or engine lights had come on prior to this happening. Glad to see the federal govt. Can bail out a company that endangers the general public and gambles with the ideal of may it will maybe it won't break, as long as we get money. Ive had this issue fixed by 2 different mechanics. I didnt list the first incident because i dont remember the mileage. What happens is everytime i put gas in my vehicle it wont crank. This happens no matter how much gas i put in it. The first time it happened in february i was coming from out of town and needed gas, but prior to that the vehicle would jerk when i turned on the air which wasnt often in february because it was mostly cool out. So ive had to buy brand new parts twice because its what the computer read as an issue. The other issue i have every once in a while, i could be just getting in vehicle and it cranks fine, i would put the vehicle in reverse to back out and it wont bulge. Id then put it back in park thain drive itll move forward perfectly. When i put it in reverse again it would back out without control without ease. Once i almose hit a car passing my driveway. This happens once or twice a month. Ive also had the issue with the door opening handles where they stick i just thought my kids werent closing the door all the way. Now theyve gotten used to slamming the door because they dont want to hear my mouth everytime i get an open door notification.

Driving at speed and the transmission jerks causing the vehicle to slow down in traffic. Very scary feeling to not know what is causing your vehicle to suddenly fail and loosing control of your speed during travel. To have such a vital part able to fail in such a critical functioning of the vehicle is dangerous and potentially dangerous to drivers on the roads as well as the occupants of the vehicle. Please don't allow this to become a fatality before action is taken.the wave plate on these gm vehicles is breaking inside the transmission. Causing complete in motion failure of vehicle at speed. First noticed problems with automatic shifting and acceleration on my way to the office.then, when attempting to park, i realized i could not go in reverse.limped home and had the vehicle towed to a trusted transmission specialist who identified 2 error codes: p0776 pcsb stuck off and p2715 pcs4 stuck on.unfortunately the power train had expired as of june 30th, 2013 - a mere 8 months before this incident.he told me that there were factory technical service bulletins out on this very issue and also wrote on the invoice that the "3/5 r clutch wave plate possibly broken."i contacted multiple dealers to have it considered for repair, but they essentially told me that i would be responsible for financing the repair.i pleaded my case to gmc customer service, but were denied any real assistance.after reading many posts of 2008 vue owners experiencing the same issues and having their transmissions fixed multiple times, we decided to obtain another non-gmc vehicle and will never by gmc again given the callous nature with which they responded to my needs as a previously loyal customer.

I just bought an 08 saturn vue v6 xr with the 6 speed automatic 94k milesand i’ve been reading a lot of complaints about the 3-5 wave plates i where the transmission won’t shift out of first gear when the car is warm. I experienced the first signs of it the day i bought it and took it to the shop and they said it was just the sensor but after i got it back i had the same problem and the shop said the whole transmission needs to be replaced which is a 3-4k job. Gm does not take responsibility for it although many many many people have had the same problem and it leaves people like me stuck with no solution as i had just spent all my money buying the car.

Both headlight wiring melted. Replaced both side headlights and after 2 years the wire harness melted againthe parking pawl gets stuck often. When putting the car in reverse the parking pawl gets stuck. Then it will eventually go into reverse but the car jerks and makes a clunking noise. The light issue i've been dealing with for the last 3 years now. The parking pawl issue has been like this for over a year now.

The c5 plate in the transmission snapped causing my vehicle to not shift into gear. No reverse either. When parking, whether on an incline or level ground my vehicle continues to roll forward. So a majority of the time i have to utilize my manual brake when placing my vehicle in park just to be on the safe side and to void any mishaps. Also, when in drive my vehicle makes a very strong noise that intensifies the longer i am driving. When i make turns or reverse it sounds like the transmission is struggling to perform. The best analogy i can give is when a person with asthma first begins to struggle with breathing and if they don't have their rescue inhaler that struggle immediately begins to kick up a notch.i reviewed the open recalls and found that there is one regarding the issues that i am experiencing with my vehicle (correct make/model) whoever, i am being told that recalls are vin specific and that my vin doesn't qualify. It was like i was being handled and the oh well tone regarding my concern that it can't be that issue because your vin is not associated with the recall approach was quite unnerving.

Was taking my grandchildren to a ski resort for the evening . Came to a stop sign, need to back up a little bit, no reverse. Then it would no shift going forward , one gear forward only. Check engine light cam on had it checked. Error code of po776. When inspected have been told it need to be rebuilt. At a cost of $3000. When searching online about this problem , it is very common and nobody can understand why there isn't a recall over the 3-5-r wave plate.

Transmission does not shift out of first gear unless the engine is shut off and restarted

My car is having a problem thats on the recall list but my vin# dont match. 1.transmission case porosty park power my driveway is on a hill and when it snows ill come outside and find my car at the bottom of the hill and then its hard to get it back up the hill even gunning it up does not work so ill leave it down there. 2. When the ground is wet from rain or snow i get stuck at the stop light i have to gun it to move the wheels spin out then i can go.3. The stick that control the drive/parking gets stuck ill have to turn my car off and back on or pump the brakes couple times real hard to unlock the stick. Ive had my car since 2015 of april so it happens in at the winters and rainy days since then to now. Thank you

Purchased a certified used vehicle saturn vue 2008. Was told by sales man it had a 1 year bumper to bumper warranty and2 year on the power train. Just after my 1 year mark my transmission went out. I took it to the dealer and felt assured at least it was under warranty, only to find out it, that is was only covered for 1 year on the power train,i was very displeased to have the transmission go out with only 50k miles on it. After speaking with several "managers" about the problem and how i felt they should cover it under the warranty, they finally agreed to absorb some of the cost, i paid 1k dollars for the transmission, while my car was being worked on they did the service that it was due such as rotating tries etc. On my way home from the dealer my air conditioningstopped working :(now it works off and on,then a day later my low tire sensor comes on, showing my tire pressure system is faulty.really??? now when i make a left turn, mytraction control/abs warring lights come on and ding.wow why as this car not been recalled for all of these problems i now find so many other people having same issues to the tee,this is a common problem with these cars.now i remember why my 3 previous vehicles have been toyota and honda's i paid 5k down all the money i had buy a certified car thinking it would last me longer than 1 year.i was wrong and i owe more on it now that i am sure it is worth.

Purchased my saturn oct 2011 transmission went out 3 months later january 2012. Saturn replaced it because it was still under factory warranty.august 7th 2013 im getting onto the expressway and my engine light comes on and the car loses power and would hardly accelerate.my transmission control module went out and my warranty company refuses to fix it saying that it is not an internal part. I am beyond pissed.

I was on a straight street parked and my engine light came on my girlfriend came outside i go to pull away i out the car in reserve and went no where i turned her off for a couple mins. And tried again it worked but i had the peddle to floor only going like 2mph backing up. Finally i got out out her in drive and again we was not moving i was able to pull over in a lot i turned her off sat for 10-15 minutes turned back on she was okay till i got home and tried to park i was 15 mins away from home. So i got my obd reader thing to check engine light and it popped up something with my transmission.

Transmission failure and loss of forward motion while entering onto roadway with on coming traffic.

I have a problem with my transition. I know there was a recall and was never notified. When i called about the recall the woman on the other end said i wasn't able to be included that's why i wasn't notified. The recall stated any owner. As even though i was sold the car as new, there had been a previous owner. I bought the car with 420 miles. My car will not shift into gear sometimes, when in park it rolls about 8 to 10 inches. When my car won't shift my check engine light comes on. I use the tiptronic shift and where there should be a 1 for first gear there is nothing. On the high way when i step on the gas my car won't shift to a higher gear to pick up speed

We had problems before march 30, they were still under warranty. Sadly, the dealer never told us we would be stiffed with time in certified gm pre-owned warranty nor any of the issues we have had. Got car may 2011 and has been in and out of shops sinceapproximately september of 2011. We have replaced sway bar links3 times in less than 1 1/2 years. Tires, battery, windshield wiper motor linkage,electrical issues, replaced driver side air bag. The kicker was the transmission on march 30 2013 while husband was deployed. Had both of my children in the car when it just stopped- on the road. Had it towed to davidson in watertown ny. Diagnostic done 4/1/13 revealed 4 codes from tranny, had to remove it to test further. We have never received any recall info at any pint since 2011; most of them seem to be listed under 2008; we have no idea haow we would have known about them, or if the issues have ever been fixed. The tranny went right after power train warranty conveniently expired- it was the 3-5 wave plate , which i just read on internet was a recall. Gm case manager , [xxx],was supposedly tryingto assist me. He also was in contact with [xxx], service manager @ davidson. As soon as they knew i had a loan secured for 4000.00 , no one could help all of the sudden! i was told by gm that i would get help with cost; either certificate with smaller amount for trade in, or 30% of repair cost. I said repair cost to lower my loan. Then neither would help me and both became unprofessional. I have sent letters to gm with no response. Also, i had to pay for rental car. It is noted that clutch spring and piston also damaged.i feel that we were given this car under false pretenses as far as safety and being gm certified pre-owned. Multiple issues. The vehicle has 87,000 miles on it and has always been serviced at dealership.while driving thru a parking lot i felt it shift hard. It drove fine for a few miles, then while in residential area i heard a squealing noise.i stopped and turned off vehicle. Turned it back on and it would not go in reverse.waited about 30 minutes turned it on again and it would go in reverse but not drive.waited again for 30 minutes and started it again and it would not go in any gear.there should not be transmission problems at 87,000 on a one owner, well maintained vehicle.the dealership kept my vehicle for 26 days before returning it.gm customer service was not helpful and very hard to deal with.there is obviously a known issue with this transmission.the reason for the 26 day delay is because they had so many in for repairs.while the 87,000 miles was inside the mileage warranty, the vehicle was out of warranty by time.

Vehicle had no reverse and had the feeling of missed gears. Found 3-5-r went out and the wave plate snapped and had to have the transmission replaced as it was too costly to have it repaired.

Issue #1 ~ transmissionwhile merging from one freeway to another, driving at a steady pace, the vehicle began to slip.when the slipping began, the delays were short, maybe lasting 10 seconds.however as i kept driving, they began to get longer and longer, in this particular incident.i was able to put my emergency flashers on and move over to exit the freeway. Since the initial time, this has happened several more times with the vehicle.and, because the slipping doesn't occur every time i drive it, i'm being told the issue can not be duplicated...issue #2 ~ power steeringas long as the vehicle is being steered straight, i have no complaints.however, the moment the vehicle is steered either left or right, it begins to make a loud roaring like sound. The roaring is especially prevalent when being steered to the left.i've taken the vehicle in twice now to be attended to.each time i've taken it in, the power steering pump and fluids are replaced. The problem is still present.

First incident- as i tried to park my car on a street going up hill, the car even though it was on drive kept moving backwards i had to right away stepped on the brakes and hit the gas so it would go forward making the car jump and almost crash into the car parked in front of me.second incident - i parked in a parking lot going up hill as i tried pulling out of the spot, my car was in reverse, as i hit the gas pedal the car went forward, i had to again hit the brakes really bad and place the car in park then in reverse again.... And hit the gas very very slowly to make sure this time my car was going backwards at the reverse.third incident- to get home i have to go thru a steep hill which has a traffic light at both ends, when ever i get stop going up he hill on the light the car goes backward when it's on drive and when u get stuck going down the car stops when i got the gas pedal all the way in and the car keeps rolling.

The transmission has episodes where it will not shift out of second gear. I have to pull over, turn off the car and re- start it. Most of the time it will shift into gear after doing this, but this past week it has not taken care of the problem. I bought the car in oct. 2015. And it started doing this 3 days after i bought it. I am aware that gm has several model vehicles, including some saturns, which have on- star that have faulty wave plates and have been recalled for this problem. After reading some of the complaints from some of the owners of these vehicles, it sounds exactly like what my car is doing.i don't know who to contact about this. But fyi...saturn has already had a class action suit against them for the 2004-2005 model transmission problem- or so i'm told.

Manufacturer recall to reprogram the bcm, then they replaced the power train control module at the same visit. How and where do i attach an excel spreadsheet with the 30 repairs, some major since ownership of this vehicle?

On november 19, 2013 as i was in my way to work the car started to make a weird noise and as i kept driving i felt a jerk on the car and heard a loud noise coming from the engine, had to turn back home. I was not going to drive the car and get stranded somewhere on the road. I call carl black chevrolet and had the car towed to have it service. On friday i picked up the car and was told the fixed the problem which was the control solenoid valve and transmission control module assembly replacement. They found fluid pressure switches damaged, replaced tcm and sol assembly. On friday november 23, 2013 i picked up my car and was told the problem was fixed, but on november 25, 2013 as i was driving to the store the problem started again,going about 35 miles the car jerked back so bad that i almost hit my head on the steering wheel. I thank god there was nobody behind me because this could have cause an accident. I was able to get the car home but not before the car did the same thing again and there was noise coming from the engine. I had the car towed again to carl black chevrolet and is at their service center today, i want a new transmission on my car not just replace some parts and sending me on my way with a car that i can have a serious accident with and possible get hurt or hurt others. All this problems have caused me to missed work and spend money i don't have, i do not want to continue having problems that can be avoided. This is a very stressful situation for me, please tell me what i have to do to have this problem fix.

I bought my 2008 saturn vue brand new aug. 2008. I have 70,000 miles on it and the transmission has gone out and they want 4,000 dollars to fix it!! i am sooo disappointed in this this. I never received recall information or anything about the saturn vues having this issue. I still owe on it and do not have that kind of money to fix it!! just 70,000 miles really!!

Without warning the transmission would not shift out of first gear.the car would not go any faster than 35 mile per hour and struggle to go up an incline into the driveway, revving at 2000 rpm.after an examination by a mechanic, it was determined that the transmission wave plate was cracked, failing to produce enough pressure for a gear change.

Car is not shifting appropriately when going into reverse. Also notice issues when driving where car appears to struggle shifting to third gear. Has stalled out.

Transmission complete failure @ 57520 miles. Technician at chevrolet dealership stated several gm vehicles use this transmission and has seen multiple transmission failures, caused by the same part. The 3-5 reverse clutch plate is the common component causing the failure. The nhtsa should require gm to recall all vehicles with this transmission and require them to repair the problem, free of charge to the consumer. Pulled out from a gas station, transmission shifted to 2nd gear. A loud bang!, vue (now aka: chevrolet captiva) stuck into same gear, lucky for us, people slowed down, vue would not go over 20 mph.

The vehicle was pulled into a parking space and restarted. The vehicle was taken to a dealer who replaced and reprogrammed the ecm. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure recurred after one and half years. The vehicle was taken to a different dealer where it was diagnosed. The dealer replaced the transmission solenoid control circuit and reprogrammed the transmission module. The failure mileage was 56,178.

On april 12, 2014 i was driving on a major boulevard towards interstate 5 when the transmission shifted itself into neutral and revved the engine to an extremely high rpm. It was hovering quite close to the red danger zone on the gauge. As it was doing this i lost forward power and was moving forward on momentum only. It then felt like it dropped in and out of gear several times in quick succession. I was close to a parking lot so i hit the brakes lightly to decrease my speed and managed to turn the car into the parking lot and into aparking space just as the transmission appeared to re-engage. I immediately turned the car off and called emergency roadside service to tow the car to the dealer. The dealer was able to drive the car forward into a service bay but advised me that reverse was completely gone. Although i did not crash or sustain an injury, it was only because i got lucky and had a safe place to turn into. If this had happened 5 minutes later on the freeway, i would have likely died as that section of interstate 5 has construction work and no shoulder, so i would have been stranded and blocking traffic on a freeway with other vehicles and big rigs traveling between 55 and 80 miles per hour. It would have taken a miracle for no one to hit me in that situation. The vehicle is a 2008 with just over 50k miles on it - way too soon for such a major transmission failure.

The transmission just up and stops working. The car must be turned off, wait 10-15 minutes and it will continue again, up until it stops working again. It happens under power or cruising. It happens whenever & wherever it wants.

Starting up slight incline when car lost speed, then started moving again but would not go over 30 mph at 4000rpms. Pulled into service center where they said trany gone . Now only have first gear. Needs new one but cost is 5,500.

Over the past year and half i've had numerous electrical issues. Head lights dimming and flashing at very high intervals almost like a dim strobe. Radio not turning on. Interior lights not coming on. Odometer light dims. Random dinging noise. Turn signal not always working or working sporadically. Front windshield wipers not always coming on and when they do it's sporadic. Rear windshield not coming on but will after an engine restart. Key stuck in the ignition. Hazard lights not working when engine is off. All this has happened slowly over the last year and half. I've replaced the battery twice and have had it in the shop multiple times and they can't find an issue. Everyone with these problems will tell you that a mechanic can't run a test for the problem if it's not happening at that time. We also all know too well these problems come and go very quickly and sometimes temporarily fix themselves with just an engine restart, driving over a bump (which also brings on the issues) or shaking the wire harness on top of the battery. So taking it to a shop to run a test is almost meaningless unless towed and even then it's not 100% chance you're going to get a code(s) to read. The last few months the problems have gotten worse. The big occurrence came when i was just two minutes down the road from where i live, i had the vue not start up or even turn over and the key was locked in the ignition. I opened up the hood, tapped once on the black box on top of the battery and the vue started dinging and was able to turn the vehicle on. I then drove to my house and the vehicle completely shut off on me and restarted twice within that two min drive. I lost total power and very limited control of the steering wheel. This issue has been brought up and complained about hundreds of times on the internet and has yet to be investigated. Please investigate this electrical issue. -11.4.17

Transmission 35r clutch wave plate failure requires complete transmission rebuild. Vehicle was properly maintained at appropriate service intervals. Transmission started to slip when shifting from 3rd to 4th gear and hesitated to up shift from 5th to 6th gear. Trouble codes p0700 and p0777 were logged when transmission first slipped.

My transmission wave plate shattered in my 2008 saturn vue. I was driving home when the wave plate shattered. I had the vehicle fixed at a third party auto shop as i was not aware that gm had extended the transmission warranty to 3/20/2018 or 120,055 miles which ever occurred first. My wave plate broke on 5/24/2016 at 79167 miles on the vehicle. I have denied reimbursement sating i did not submit by receipts by the expatriation date. When i inquired on what that date was i was informed they had no idea. I will continue to fight this until i am rightfully reimbursed for these repairs per the extended transmission warranty that gm put out for the known wave plate issue. I have attached my original email chain with saturn/gm customer service that indicates the extend transmission warranty date and mileage and the my vehicles vin qualified, my reconsideration letter after first denial and receipt of the repair work that was completed. All i am looking for is to rightfully reimbursed by gm for the extended transmission warranty they put in place for a known issue with there vehicles.

This is concerning as the recall is describing the exact problem w/ the car and has been diagnosed by a service professional. One of the connectors on my ecm somehow has become contaminated and is causing the car to unexpectedly die while in use. Also as a result, the tcs/esp/and check engine lights all come on and remain on until the computer can be reset.it has done so twice while my wife has been driving it on the highway, creating very dangerous situations. It strands her on the side of the road until we can get the car started again and off the highway. This has also happened while the car is idling, and while traveling at low speeds off the highway.i understand that only certain vins are involved in certain recalls, but since the problem in the recall bulletin linked above is happening to our vehicle and our vehicle's vin is not listed, i am concerned there could be others that are not aware of this and could become seriously injured when the vehicle shuts off.

My '08 vue will no longer shift into reverse.the transmission handle does physically go into the reverse detent but the gears do not engage and the vehicle does not move.depressing the accelerator only increases the engine rpms.the first indication of a problem was some stuttering in reverse two days ago.there didn't seem to be any issues with the forward gears.today, the transmission reverse gear will not engage.this seems to be a common problem with the gm/for 6t70 6spd transmission reverse gear wave plate.a quick google search revealed that virtually every gm brand that uses the transmission has the exact same issue.this seems to be a well known and well documented problem, a recall should be made.a tsb already exists for the issue, please refer to tsb #09-07-30-012b.

Was driving the car and it failed to shift from 1st gear (car kept moving but the rpms went way up).check engine light came on and codes p0700, p0752 and p0989 were pulled from the car.mechanic looked at the car and it had to be sent to a transmission shop.the transmission shop rebuilt the transmission which included a failed wave plate. The new wave plate is much more robust than the original one.car was at 125,844 miles when work completed.contacted gm about the special coverage this this transmission.the gm special coverage is for 10 years or 120,000 miles.unfortunately our saturn would not be covered reimbursed by gm even though the wave plate failure is a known problem by gm.gm said that anything above 120,000 miles is considered normal wear and tear even though it is a known issue.

Hi i have a 2008 saturn vue i purchased it brand new in 2008. In 2010 with about 32,000 miles the tranny was blown, they fixed it free of charge because it was still under warranty. Now that winter it here i went to put my car in manual transmission to go down a snow covered hill and the car would not down shift, it stayed in 4th. (i have not tried to downshift since the new tranny was put in, this was the first time) brought it to the shop thinking it was the tranny and they say it is the floor shifter assembly wiring and is not under warranty. Has anyone else had this issue? the car is not even 3 yrs old!

2008 saturn vue. Consumer writes in regards to defective transmission *tgwthe consumer stated the reverse gear stopped working and the drive gear started slipping.

Repair shop says that the wave plate has cracked and is now causing transmission problems.this appears to be some type of small defective part that when it fails results in a new transmission needed.this known issue is all over the internet and also my transmission shop says they have had multiple transmission repairs due to this issue.is there anyway that we have recourse with gm?

It is hard to turn when it sit idle, and the steering wheel only loosenes up when i press on the gas pedal, witch makes it hard to park or turn when at a green light or stop sign and when i reverse or need to go forward and turn a little bit in small spaces to adjust the placement of which my vehicle is in its to dangerous because in order to move the steering wheel you have to press on the gas pedal and the vehicle has to be in motion for the steering wheel to move without having to use so much strength to force it to turn.

I bought a 2008 saturn vue used and immediately noticed a vibration. Had it checked by 4 mechanics including a transmission specialist who concluded it was the torque converter. I noticed a recall on the 2007 model but this vehicle was manufactured in 2007 and has the same problem but no recall. When vehicle is in motion it vibrates mainly when picking up speed.

I'm experiencing an engine light on all the time. Regardless of, the weather and after having my vehicle check for maintenance work. Had a vehicle diagnostic done and the results was a code 10. Which means cam actuator solenoid, 2008 saturn vues are known for this problem. Replace that part the engine have to be taken apart. This engine light stays on constantly. It been on since march 2014, if this problem is not handle my vehicle will start having problems starting and shutting down without my control while driving. This is apower drive and ignition/starter problem.can you please research this issue and assist me with this matter. All the dealer did since i couldn't buy a new vehicle was sent me on a test drive and while i was gone they went under the hood and made the light go off. That work for only a hour. Please response. Driving on highway, pulled into get gas, came back out and transmission would not get out of second gear.lucky for us, we were not far from home.took car into a reliable transmission specialist, he indicated the 3-5 reverse drum wave plate was our problem.he has seen many of these come in with the same problem.no recalls, so the bill ended up being $3500.00.he indicated this is a know problem with this year vehicle, did not know why gm has not sent out a recall.was an excellent car up until now.knowing this is a problem it should be addressed.only 52,000 miles driven.

While accelerating to enter freeway engine speed increased to high revs and would not shift into higher gear for higher speed had to pull out of fast traffic as car would not accelerate.when car was parked and started again, could not get it to go in reverse.this has happened several times since then.

The transmission was slipping between 45-50 mph at about 1500-2000 rpms the only way to avoid it was using the manual mode. It was only happening after the vehicle was warmed up too by the end of my 200 mile drive today it was slipping bad and it has fluid i topped it off this morning hoping that was the problem but it was not and i consistently checked it throughout the drive and it did not go down or lose fluid.

Traveling at 80 mph on interstate, stepped on gas to change lanes, and engine revved, but no power to move. Had to run off of the highway onto the grass berm. Before that happened, the steering wheel had been acting strangely - much vibration and play.my sister and i could have been killed had the car overturned or something at that speed.now i am told the car needs new transmission, struts, and power steering issue still being looked at. I have replaced my headlights 4 times(both sides) and wire harness keeps melting. I have made a complaint before and received no response. I have now purchased the wire harness and i hope this will not burn also. 2. The car jumps when shifting in reverse which indicates the parking pawl. This has been an issue for over a year now and no response returned. 3. Water is leaking into my car. The front and backseat floors are soaked. Looks like the seal around the firewall is not sealing properly. I saw multiple people have the same issue on the 2008-2010 saturn vue. Why isn't there a recall? this could cause a major electrical issue.

As of the date of the incident, there are 71,694 miles on the car or 57,758 miles driven (average 11,550 per year).this car was well kept and had the appropriate maintenance done. The first thing that failed on the car was the keyless start.it failed less than seven months after purchase.last winter, we noticed the electronic stability failed and no longer worked.on 6/24/2008; the transmission failed.we get the transmission fluids checked every oil change and everything seemed to be working fine.two weeks ago, the car started making rubbing noises until now the transmission actually failed.car transmissions should last at least 100k miles.with the history of saturn vues having transmission issues, this one has now failed us.

I bought this car april 23, and the following week i began to have problems. At 200 miles the check engine light came on. I took it to the dealer and they said it was the evap canister. But i was also experiencing problems with the automatic transmission trying to switch gears. The vehicle would hesitate when i pressed down on the gas and then it would redline and kick in to the next gear. But it would not stay constant. The vehicle would abruptly downshift on flat ground and on slight grades. The dealership said the problem was fixed, but as i drove off it happened again. I ended up having to schedule another appt for them to look at the vehicle. Then when they looked at it again they said the computer system in the vehicle wasn't working correctly so they said they fixed it. Well when i drove off about 25 miles down the road the problem occurred again. When i try to slow down the brake pedal would go to the floor. I have almost been in a few accidents because of this. The problem occurred at 30mph-60mph. It also rolls back when in the drive way or at a slight incline at a stop sign/light. This vehicle is not safe. Im schedule for another appt. Once again to try and resolve the problem.

The car is a 2008 saturn vue 4 cylinder automatic with two main safety problems. Problem one is the car will lock you out automatically with the keys in the ignition. Car can be running or shut off. This happened twice with my son in the car. This has happened about 14 times. Luckily i had the windows rolled down and was able to access the car. Saturn has repeated this problem on other vue and deems it a "normal function" even though the owners manuals says there is a function in the car engineered into it to prevent you from locking your keys in the car accidentally. Again this happens automatically a minute or two after exiting the car. Problem two, transmission abruptly downshifts and accelerates on flat ground or slight grades while in cruise control. This also happens sometimes when cruise controls is disengaged as well. My wife almost lost control of the vehicle one due to this on a curving road going up hill. I almost hit a vehicle when this happened as well. Multiple dates of these problems happening. This is an intermittent problem and happens between 40 and 60 mph. The vehicle has been in the shop 47 days since it has been purchased.

My saturn vue redline was hit by an oncoming vehicle.the seat belt on the rear passenger seat was ripped from the seat, from the interior.the seat belt wasfound wrapped up in the axel, wheel and tire.the door to the vehicle did not open at any time. Since we have had this vehicle the transmission keeps messing up. The transmission slips after it is put in gear. Once put in gear and the accelerator pedal is pressed there is lag between the sound of the engine rpm increasing and the gears engaging and the car taking off. Vehicle hasn't retained correct amount of fuel. Vehicle has electrical and mechanical issues out of no where.driver seat has issues that will not allow for the seat to incline but only recline which happened while driving on city street. I'm scared to drive vehicle and i've only had it for almost 2 years.

I have lights on the instrument panel to indicate an issue with the braking system abs and stability response to my vehicle.the technician at ntb stated my wiring harness is corroded. To me this is not a normal thing to have general maintenance.there is no current recalls noted for this and something needs to be done. Although i can still brake the car.

My wife is the primary driver of the vehicle and has been complaining that the vehicle feels sluggish like driving through quicksand and that the stabilitrak lights have been coming on every so often.today i drove the vue to work and in that 17 mile drive i experienced extreme shaking like a flat tire or an unbalanced rim. I got off the exit and examined the vehicle ensuring that no tires were flat and that no lug nuts were loose. I did notice that the rims felt extremely hot but seeing as i had driven on the highway, thought nothing of it. I called onstar to do a diagnosis and was informed that two tires were a little low. I continued to work and returned home with no incident. After work on the same day we were on our way to do some shopping and as soon as the vehicle was turned on, the 2 stabilitrak lights did not turn off. We called onstar and was told that there was an issue with the stabilitrak but not brakes and that it should be serviced within the next 7 days. I did some research online and saw that there are numerous complaints about this same issue with the dealers not knowing how to resolve it but charging consumers anyways. I am very concerned that this is going the same route as the ignition recall and is going to take more than a decade before the issue is addressed. I fear for my safety as well as that for my family.

I was driving down fm 1960 i saw white smoke coming from under the hood and through the vents. I turned off the air condition; then grey smoke start being visible from the under the hood. I came to a yellow light and tried to brake but the brakes did not work. When i was able to get the truck to stop, a cloud of black smoke came from the glove compartment and floor board areas. Around june 22, 2017he anti-lock brake system abs, traction control tc/esp elec. Stability, awd all-wheel drive, and brake warning and indicator lights stay on and will not reset according to the manual indicating the systems are not functioning/powered on and/or not working properly. On may 9, 2017 scott automotive put new brakes on the car. They could not get a reading from the abs/tc control system and suggested taking it to a dealer - it would not communicate. A tire pressure light came on as well and later in the week, carter auto repair replaced the tire pressure sensor and stated with the correct reading equipment the abs/tc still was not communicating and also suggested having gm perform a reading. Gm technicians' online responses to forum complaints of 2008 saturn vue (and other models) stability track system and transmission issues lead me to believe gm is aware of the problems but have yet to take recall action to address them. The vehicle runs through a self-check of the sensors when the car is parked with only the awd light blinking and the normal all lights flash on the dash and then the brake, abs, both tc/esp lights come on and stay on and the awd light continues to blink. From what i have read, the traction control/electronic stability and abs are not on and working so i am hoping when i take the car to gm on wednesday they will offer to replace the vehicle because i purchased this vehicle for my mother because it has a 5-star safety rating and it is no longer safe for her to drive if she is in an accident and the brakes lock up and she skids across the highway.

We have had the vehicle serviced multiple times and we have replaced all brake hardware and the issue still exists. We have done countless hours of research and have found that hundreds of saturn, chevrolet, and commodore vehicles exhibit the same issues and general motors dealerships do not even have an answer. The vehicle brake issues render the vehicle inoperable and cause immediate slowness and inability to maneuver on the freeway when it locks up. We cannot use the vehicle and have exhausted all resources and options trying to fix the issue. It cannot be traded in with these issues either. Can somebody investigate possible recalls or dealer solutions so we can feel safe driving...with or without our small children. Please help.

Every time i am driving the abs brakes will start engaging even though i'm not hitting the brakes. The abs and both traction lights come on. Ipurchased a saturn vue 2008 automobile which was purchased on feb.18,2008. I've had two accidents with this vehicle, both due to brake failure. The first accident occurred on june 27,2008, at approximately 7:15am. I was maneuvering my vehicle in a garage area when i stepped on the brake , the peddle went to the floor and the car crashed into the garage thus "stopping " the car, the car was moving 5-10 m.p.h. The second accident occurred on july 17, 2008 at 4:15pm. I was 3 car lengths behind another vehicle traveling 25 m.p.hwhen i stepped on my brake peddle which "again" went down to the floor and i crashed into the car in front of me. My vehicle was towed to the saturn dealer on the 17th of july 2008 and as of this date, august 26, 2008, saturn still retains possession of my vehicle alleging to be having it repaired. There is 8,283 miles on this car which i am apprehensive and frighten to drive. I feel that the "next" accident will be my last.i have "no" confidence in this vehicle and fear for my life. Left rear abs wire harness short due to corrosion ,abs brake system fails to operate and dash warning lights come on saying traction control and abs brake system warning /failed.dealer service tech. Said he has seen a lot of this problem on this type/modelauto.. He removed about 6 inch to 1 ft of wire were it was showing green from corrosion.. He also said he solder new wire slice in and put shrink tape over the repaired wire harness. Have repair order if you like to see it.

I bought this car april 23, and the following week i began to have problems. At 200 miles the check engine light came on. I took it to the dealer and they said it was the evap canister. But i was also experiencing problems with the automatic transmission trying to switch gears. 2008 saturn vue loses power steering assist when engine below 1000 rpm. Power steering fluid level is ok. There is also a whining noise that becomes louder when wheel is turned in any direction. Noise is somewhat dependent on rpm, as well.

It is hard to turn when it sit idle, and the steering wheel only loosenes up when i press on the gas pedal, witch makes it hard to park or turn when at a green light or stop sign and when i reverse or need to go forward and turn a little bit in small spaces to adjust the placement of which my vehicle is in its to dangerous because in order to move the steering wheel you have to press on the gas pedal and the vehicle has to be in motion for the steering wheel to move without having to use so much strength to force it to turn.

Traveling at 80 mph on interstate, stepped on gas to change lanes, and engine revved, but no power to move. Had to run off of the highway onto the grass berm. I parked my saturn and went into restaurant to eat and coming out back out of parking space and hadno steering. I called my dad he researched the problem and discovered that there have been problems with the electric assist steering in this model. We took a hammer and hit the assist motor and steering gear box and it started working.the garage informed us (my dad and me) that there were recalls on other similar models but not this model.what do we need to do to get this problem as a recall because getting on line i have discovered other consumers have similar problems?

Lost all power steering was sitting for about 4 hrs. Started to move and no power steering checked fuse it is ok.

The electric power steering will lock up or fail to work at any time. This is accompanied by a by a clicking noise and the power steering light on the dash will flash. This happens intermittently. As i am driving at low speed and getting ready to make a turn, all of a sudden it is a struggle to steer and complete the turn.this has happened four times. The most recent, 11/1714.the last time i also heard a noise like some sort of motor struggling.three of these times it was a rainy or wet slushy day. In each of the incidents, after getting to safety and turning off the car and restarting it, it began to run fine again. This last time, i was just barely able to complete a sharp enough right turn to stay in my lane. I had to wait for the vehicle exiting the street to leave, so i knew i would be able to make the turn and pull over safely! i brought the vehicle in to the gm place for service last month (october 2014)because i am concerned i will have complete loss of steeringsomewhere.they said they tried but could not duplicate the problem, so they say they are unable to fix it. Because it is a sporadic problem, i don't know how they will ever be able to duplicate it unless they drove it around for a couple weeks!this is so dangerous.i am going to bring it back and try again, but wanted to see if there had been a recall on this.there isn't a recall, however in searching, i found that others have had similar experiences with the same vehicle!there must be someone in this industry who can figure this out and find a solution to it before someone gets injured or killed.

Whirring/whoosing and slight groaning/vibration coming from steering wheel when turning from a stopped position and at low speed. Power steering fluid was low and filled at that time. Symptoms continued. Vehicle was diagnosed and repaired by gm service. The steering shaft boot was greased and the technicians replaced the steering gear assembly rack and pinion. Additionally, the steering pump was flushed and filled and a front end alignment was performed. Although we were out of warranty, the original estimate was half and the parts were noted as "good will parts only/warranty". We appreciated this gesture from gm; we absorbed the labor costs. Since the repair we have begun to notice a slight groaning/vibration again when turning at start-up. This seems to disappear while driving. Note: having done some research, our issue seem to be a problem with some 2008 vue vehicles.

My wife told me she was having some difficulty steering so i drove the car myself this morning. As i started out, yes, i found turning the steering wheel felt quite klunky. When i got up on the freeway all of a sudden the steering wheel just locked straight ahead. I bumped the brakes and hit the steering wheel to get the car to veer right to get onto the exit. By the grace of god i made it. Then it all of a sudden got a bit looser and i was able to get back home. It's at the mechanic now.

In 2013 i had steering wheel problems with the 2008 saturn vue xr andthe dealer replaced at the beginning of the year the rack and pinion and front wheels strut bearings and i paid around $900.this year, i start having problems again with the steering wheel ( not being able to steer at low speed and low steering fluid level ) and the dealer cost was $530 replacing the steering pump.gm had a recall on this type of vehicle on the steering fluid line nut but my vin number was not included.i called gm asking for cost assistance since it is the same system ( steering ) and concerned about safety and the only thing they offered this year was to call the dealer to see if they can assist. This is a lot of money ( $1,430 ) to be spent by a vehicle owner on the same vehicle system ( steering ) that is related to safety and my concern is that the problems will not stop here. This should be a recall since i found a lot of saturn owners complaining about steering wheel ( components ) issues.

Currently my 2008 saturn vue is having issues with the power steering repeatedly going out in the vehicle.i will lose power steering for up to 10-30 seconds, primarily at low speeds.it is occurring about 5-8 times per week. The vehicle has been taken to a dealership for repair 5 times.the steering gear has been replaced, the hydraulic power steering has been replaced and including the rack and pinion and the power steering pump has been replaced.the vehicle still continues to lose power steering.

May have a condition in which the nut securing the power steering line to the power steering pump may loosen. If this were to occur, there may be a power steering fluid leak. Saturn was in motion when this occurred.

For the last year, while driving at low speeds, and while stopped with the engine running, the engine will shut off. It won't restart for a few minutes, sometimes it will restart on first try. The electrical system (i'm guessing) makes a lot of clicking noises-from the engine and inside the car-dashboard lights will flicker, electric door and window lights on driver side door will flicker, airbags, hazards, radio lights will all flicker, and windows won't go up or down, or will slightly, door locks won't operate, etc. Electrical issues started the same night i purchased it sept. 2017 when the electrical system went haywire and the engine died and all the electrical light flickered. The dealer had it hooked up to a battery charger the next day and the battery died. In attempts to start the vehicle, we open and shut doors, try to use electrical functions (windows, door locks etc.), and that seems to help, as after a few minutes it will start, seemingly from opening and closing doors and the hatchback. The doors will not lock via the door lock/unlock button on the key fob. When doors are locked and alarm is set via keyfob (lights will flash and alarm noise will give noise to confirm it), however, the doors will open by just pulling on the handle, and alarm will go off. The steering has a leak that leaks out all the fluid in a day or two, as well.

I had driven to the store and parked the car. After shopping, i started the car and attempted to pull out of the parking spot. The steering wheel was extremely hard to turn, and i realized that i shouldn't try to drive it. I returned it to the parking spot and called a tow truck. When the key switch is in the on position there is a click at the position (approximately ten degrees, right) where the steering wheel lock appears to be attempting to engage. This could lock up the steering wheel while making a slow right turn, as when exiting a freeway. When the key switch is in lock position and key is removed the warning chime still occurs when the door is opened.

Car started again and managed to move the car to a safe spot before it went out again.nothing was workable.when the car was taken tochevrolet dealer in llano, tx it was diagnosed asthe positive connection to the main fuse box had come loose.the only fix was complete replacement of the fuse box assembly because the main positive lug to the fuse box is only held on by plastic.the design of this fuse box is definitely poor creating the possibility of a very dangerous situation.had i been driving on the highway at a high rate of speed when this occurred, the outcome could have been disastrous causing an accident and possible death.this poorly designed fuse box with main lug nut held by only plasticneeds to be addressed immediately to prevent future accidents and possible death to occupants of the vehicle.

The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and offered to pay for the vehicle to be towed to the dealer, but would not cover the cost of the diagnostic test. The vehicle was not repaired. On friday october 26, 2018, my battery died.i had it replaced after the tow company diagnosed it.it was later discovered that the alternator was malfunctiong.my car on a busy intersection just died with on coming heavy traffic.i could not move or put it in nuetural to move it.it had to be jumped in order to clear the dangerous situation.my concern that the car just locked up, no power or ability to move.i could not use my hazard lights.a very unsafe situation.the vehicle was in motion and then i was accelerating then all of a sudden everything went dark. Own two of the same kind of a car. Both cars make chirping sounds when turning the steering wheel since the first 10,000 miles. The first saturn vue of the same year has less mileage (40000) and the steering wheel is hard to turn while driving. Same is happening to the one listed above at 70,000. These cars clearly have a steering issue since the beginning and gm should look into the matter. The steering is becoming more difficult in both cars which makes me think this is a manufacturing fault. They are also starting to make a lot of noise when moving the steering wheel, aside from the chirping sound.

Vehicle was driven approximately 1.5 miles. I spent 30 minutes inside and then upon returning to my car discovered that the power steering was no longer working.the car was turned on/off several times and the failure light remained as well as the failure. Car was barely drivable to get home.gm was called and they stated there were no recalls on such a part. Car has less than 60k and is less than 3 years old. An online search indicated that this has happened to other 2008 vue xe owners; the chevy cobalt, which has a similar system and engine, seems to have recalled the part. Parts were replaced and old part is available.

Yesterday (april 7, 2013) at approximately 4:30pm, i was driving on the bay bridge (i-80 e) and my steering wheel appeared to be stuck and it was very difficult to steer in any direction. I slowed down to approximately 40mph and got off at the first exit after passing the bridge (about 10-15 minutes after this started) and went to a safe area where i proceeded to turn off my engine. When i turned my engine back on, the problem was gone. This is the third time this happened since i purchased the car in 2008, but the first time since this problem was repaired at my service shop. The first two times this happened occurred in the last three years and the service shop was only able to do something about it when the problem was taking place at that exact moment. I have documentation for these visits to the service shop. This time on the bridge was also the most dangerous time for this to occur. Now that my warranty is up, the next time this happens, i will have to pay out of pocket to repair this problem (which should have already been fixed the first time). I demand answers from saturn and refuse to continue to put myself and my family in danger.

My 2008 saturn vue steering failed and almost got into accident with only 40,000+ miles back in oct 2013, got it fixed that cost me close to $1000 and now june 2014 transmission failed with only 50,000 miles and was quoted $4,500 worth of repair which is to replace transmission, checked online regarding problem and looks like its a common issues on this model and other models as well of gm which have the same transmission, just wondering how come no one issues a recall on this.thanks...

During slushy or rainy conditions, car loses power steering momentarily.issue occurs sporadically under these conditions.gm dealership could not find any mechanical issues with the power steering pump or steering mechanism.same dealership advised that the power steering pump on this model is located in such a way that during wet driving conditions the drive belt to the pump can get wet and slip, causing a momentary loss of power steering.

While driving, the steering wheel suddenly lost its power steering assist making it difficult to turn and/or unable to turn at all.the wheel would then lock itself with each 30 degree turn.at times, the wheel completely locked up only being able to turn in 15 degrees in either direction.this has been intermittently occuring since friday, may 18, 2012.the service dealerships state they cannot fix the issue unless they can duplicate the issue upon appointment.

"takata recall" my 2008 saturn vue has been recalled for 3 items, all of which i am experiencing issues with but according to my vin number my vehicle does not apply for these recalls. I did receive a notice a few years ago but since my vehicle was still okay at the time, i never brought it in. The 3 recalls are as follows: 1. Latches/locks/linkages:doors:latch, 2. Power train:automatic transmission, 3. Steering:hydraulic power assist:hose, piping, and connections. My vehicle is currently at mike anderson chevrolett due to these issues but the only item that's appearing covered is the transmission. I don't understand how my vin has anything to do with the recall when all the 2008 saturn vue's are made with the same parts. I would like an investigation to be made due to my vehicle falling under the recall category but not falling under the correct vin number category. Upon getting in my truck the change tray was slightly open . I got in and it cut my right leg one inch down from my knee. It began to bleed and skin was left on the sharp part of the tray. It has left a scar and i want to advise you how serious it was.

I was driving down fm 1960 i saw white smoke coming from under the hood and through the vents. I turned off the air condition; then grey smoke start being visible from the under the hood. I came to a yellow light and tried to brake but the brakes did not work. When i was able to get the truck to stop, a cloud of black smoke came from the glove compartment and floor board areas. I had been out to lunch and was pulling into a parking place in my workplace parking lot.i eased into the parking space and nudged the gas to get completely in the space.when i nudged the gas, my car accelerated on its own with such a force the car went over a concrete barrier in the parking space and i then hit a brick and concrete wall that was knocked down.an iron railing was on top of the concrete and that got smashed as well.my car was moving at such a fast and furious speed i had no control over it.as a result, my car was totaled due to the repairs that were necessary.this exact thing happened exactly three years ago in this car and it was the same situation.i was pulling into a parking place at a shopping mall and as i eased on the gas to pull into the space, again, my car accelerated out of control and i hit a truck that was in the space in front of where i was pulling in and my car stopped when it hit the car next to the truck.my car was repairable.thankfully, both of these times i was in the car alone.i have called gm/saturn and made a complaint with them....updated 09/28/15

I went to open the driver side front door and the exterior handle just broke.the breakage point occurred "inside" the door, at the rear portion of the handle.from the outside the driver is unable to open the door.i must enter the vehicle from the passenger side to use the interior door handle, to open the driver's door.the exterior door handle is still attached on the front end but is completely unusable.

Safety recall for 2008 saturn vue with same color door handles would be replaced with chrome handles.my 2008 saturn vue has the same color door handles and when i took it into the dealership, they stated that they would not replace the handles because the vin wasn't part of the recall.however, my door handles have stuck in the open position several times.knowing of the recall, i'm very careful to make sure that the door handle latches and the door closes.although i'm careful, my passengers may not notice it and could possibly have the door open on them.

On 2/23/09- my husband opened the hatchback of my 2008 saturn vue. He noticed the hatchback a bit heavy and after lifting it, he naturally let it go. Dealer said that this was from spark plugs????i had an extended warranty.they wanted 100.00 for diagnostic 500 for spark plugs. I declined. The rotor and struts have been replaced twice. The car would often times be running with the key out of the ignition, gas gone, not to mention dangerous and bad for the car. Transmission failure starts and continues. Had a car accident in december 2013. Airbags did not activate. Dealership received over $5000.after a month they say it's finished bring me the car. I get home and the key won't come out of the ignition. They told me that they would not replace it because it was a known issue with the vehicle. The rocking and rolling sound in the struts is worse. They said that is also a known issue along with the transmission and not from the accident. They would not replace. They finally agreed to fix ignition.this vehicle is a failure! no wonder saturn is out of business. As for the toyota dealership and the gm dealer under progressive ins. Thieves!i took pictures of my file and have what they actually did for the 5000. How much they paid for the parts. I almost threw up. It was 300% mark up on some things. But my truck in the winter it has trouble going up a low hill while driving it and when its sitting on a hill parked ill look outside and find it sitting at the bottom of the hill. 2008 saturn vue,liftgate gas struts that hold the liftgate up when open. These struts failed and the open liftgate suddenly falled and unexpectedly it strikes me on head. Car was parked in level driveway andi just open it up -7 seconds laterit crushed my head. Very unstable and dangerous to close without gas struts it's too heavy and slams closed.

A/c fails/works intermittently.at times, the vents blow a white, very cold "fog" into the vehicle.once this occurs the a/c will "freeze up" and not work properly.my mechanic is unable to determine/correct the problem.purchased this vehicle jan 2011.during the extreme heat experienced in mo during the summer of 2011; this is unacceptable and unsafe for children as the heat index rose to over 100 degrees and sustained for weeks at a time.i have a 6 yr & 8 yr old (who has heat triggered asthma).for this health reason i maintain a newer vehicle that should provide adequate a/c.for a vehicle of this age, mileage, and cost of this vehicle, i expect the manufacturer to ensure that this important feature is capable of running correctly for the first 100,000 miles; or recall & fix this a/c issue that i have found is plaguing many saturn vue owners.as a single mother, i do not have the flexibility or income to be without my vehicle while it is serviced by a dealership at dealership costs.yet, it is now unsafe for me and my children to travel on extremely hot days in this vehicle.

Then noticed the engine light was on, so i pulled into a parking lot, stop the car and began checking the vehicle manual which indicated possible emission issues +++. Began researching where the closest gm dealer was located. I turned the engine on, put it in reverse, checking for clearance behind me then stepped on the accelerator.... The engine revved and the car started to drift forward towards the vehicle parked in front of me. "no reverse?" good thing i left plenty of parking clearance. I then researched were a transmission shop was located. After the vehicle ahead of me pulled out i was able to drive out of the shopping center... Once on the main road had to put the emergency lights on because the shifting into 3rd gear would like slip, going into a high rev, letting up off the accelerator allowed shifting to progress. Thank goodness the tranny shop was only 1/2 mile away.a couple of hours later the shop called that a couple of codes indicating possible electronic faults may be the cause. Now waiting for follow up.

Now this is like the 5th time i think i have wrote a letter to this company and no one has answered me i've had problems with my car being parked on a hill and it rolls backwards when no one's inside of it and other little things thats on the saturn recall but my car is not on the list. But now i'm having a problem with my back door not shutting when i shut it it opens unexpectently.in the words of car talk it's called 1. Transmission case porosity at park pawl 2. Outside door handle sticks/bind. Also the interior lights on the trans stick is out, my warning dash boards light come in for no reason 1st it was oil light which i received an oil change a month ago and now it's the check engine light, car alarm goes off when the back door acts up. Now i hope to here from someone soon. I might go to the news cause i need help and you people not helping so that might make u move faster. I have had electrical and climate control problems since i bought this car. Most of the a/c components have been replaced. 2008 saturn vue this is the 3rd time im writing a complaint i havent heard anything back no call no letter from anyone at the recall. But my truck in the winter it has trouble going up a low hill while driving it and when its sitting on a hill parked ill look outside and find it sitting at the bottom of the hill. When its parked and i try to shift the gear to drive to go the stick locks up and it wouldnt move. And when driving on a street with not much snow i can feel the back of the car slide. My saturn 2008 has 47 000 miles and it already needs heater core replacement. I took it in because check engine light was on. It cost $333 to replace cam haft acuters. Six months ago i took my car in for one of thesafety recalls because gm was recalling 44,4512008 saturn vue vehicles with body color outside door handles. The outside door handles may stick or bind. If this were to occur, the door may not latch when closed.consequences driving with an unlatched door could result in an unbelted occupant falling out of the vehicle, causing increased risk of injury. A month ago i took it for a different recall. Gm was recalling 42,4082008-2009 saturn vue vehicles. Some of these vehicles have a condition in which the nut securing the power steering line to the power steering pump may loosen. If this were to occur, there may be a power steering fluid leak.consequences the fluid could contact hot exhaust components resulting in a possible engine compartment fire. Now i have coolant fluid dripping on my engine and i can not breathe while driving my vehicle. This is very expensive replacement and i don't know how i am going to pay for it. Dealership is asking for $1100 for just a part plus hours of work. They usually charge $80 an hour. My 2008 saturn is spending more time in shop in repairs than on the road.

A/c unit will stop blowing hot air, this will fog up windows in mornings and on rainy days causeing you not to see and crash no visable out of windshield, can not see..very dangerous

On friday october 26, 2018, my battery died.i had it replaced after the tow company diagnosed it.it was later discovered that the alternator was malfunctiong.my car on a busy intersection just died with on coming heavy traffic.i could not move or put it in nuetural to move it.it had to be jumped in order to clear the dangerous situation.my concern that the car just locked up, no power or ability to move.i could not use my hazard lights.a very unsafe situation.the vehicle was in motion and then i was accelerating then all of a sudden everything went dark. Please advise of what type of documentation you will need for this file?i am just writing because this was a safety related malfunctioning that was life threatening.

October 22 2020 my husband and i had purchased a 2008 saturn vue (lic plate # 6ezz507)from a private party. On march 25 2021 the car suddenly engulfed in flames then exploded. The heater core is leaking. My floor boards are soaked with some mold. Ihave vacuumed the wetness up many times. The inside of my windows have heavy condensation on them, that has actually frozen. Because of the wet floors.

Last summer the air worked on and off. Problems were when you first started driving and in traffic but otherwise worked well.this year it has not worked at all. It blows fine but it's only hot air.mechanic said freon was fine and could not correct the problem after trying everything he could.he replaced a switch or something which i can't recall right now but it didn't help. He is a well respected mechanic in the same place for over 20 years. I live in a very hot and humid area of the country and have medical issues which make driving the car a concern for me.i have read this is a common complaint with this car.

The ignition key would not turn to the "off" position once the car is stopped and the shifter in park. The key would only move to the accessory power position and would not allow the engine to turn off. To turn the engine off, the shifter needed to be moved out of the park position and back into the park position several times before the ignition would unlock to allow the key to move to the "off" position.

Extensive rust on frame in two areas.

After sitting for awhile, i tried to use the key fob to unlock the car.it did nothing.i used the key then to unlock the doors and the dome lights did not work.however, the car started up with the second turn of the key.after driving home, the key fob worked again along with the dome lights.while driving at several other times, the radio will shut off and the clock will reset to midnight and the calendar will reset.this will happen while driving as well as when the engine is first started.this will happen at least once a week. This has been happening for several months now.

Every time a i take a left hand turn with this car, the traction control, brake light, and another light symbol come on and the car starts dinging. Because this is a breaking issue and isolated to certain turns, this appears to be an unsafe situation.

Electrical system discharges battery. Once overheated the wiring causing the insulation to melt. Another time caused the battery acid to overflow/leak. Once drove to a location and when attempted to restart battery completely dead.

Was on a street stopped at a light , went to go and would not move , started to move again got a little ways down the street and it stopped again was able to get off the sidebut it would not move again. Called a tow truck . Its the tramsmission.

Around june 22, 2017he anti-lock brake system abs, traction control tc/esp elec. Stability, awd all-wheel drive, and brake warning and indicator lights stay on and will not reset according to the manual indicating the systems are not functioning/powered on and/or not working properly. On may 9, 2017 scott automotive put new brakes on the car. They could not get a reading from the abs/tc control system and suggested taking it to a dealer - it would not communicate. A tire pressure light came on as well and later in the week, carter auto repair replaced the tire pressure sensor and stated with the correct reading equipment the abs/tc still was not communicating and also suggested having gm perform a reading. Gm technicians' online responses to forum complaints of 2008 saturn vue (and other models) stability track system and transmission issues lead me to believe gm is aware of the problems but have yet to take recall action to address them. The vehicle runs through a self-check of the sensors when the car is parked with only the awd light blinking and the normal all lights flash on the dash and then the brake, abs, both tc/esp lights come on and stay on and the awd light continues to blink. From what i have read, the traction control/electronic stability and abs are not on and working so i am hoping when i take the car to gm on wednesday they will offer to replace the vehicle because i purchased this vehicle for my mother because it has a 5-star safety rating and it is no longer safe for her to drive if she is in an accident and the brakes lock up and she skids across the highway.

Ive had this issue fixed by 2 different mechanics. I didnt list the first incident because i dont remember the mileage. What happens is everytime i put gas in my vehicle it wont crank. This happens no matter how much gas i put in it. The first time it happened in february i was coming from out of town and needed gas, but prior to that the vehicle would jerk when i turned on the air which wasnt often in february because it was mostly cool out. So ive had to buy brand new parts twice because its what the computer read as an issue. The other issue i have every once in a while, i could be just getting in vehicle and it cranks fine, i would put the vehicle in reverse to back out and it wont bulge. Id then put it back in park thain drive itll move forward perfectly. When i put it in reverse again it would back out without control without ease. Once i almose hit a car passing my driveway. This happens once or twice a month. Ive also had the issue with the door opening handles where they stick i just thought my kids werent closing the door all the way. Now theyve gotten used to slamming the door because they dont want to hear my mouth everytime i get an open door notification.

My vehicle had a webasto 700 sunroof installed in it a fully rectractable one and while driving on the freeway the glass itself flew off and the vehicle behind us had to swerve out of the way to avoid it. Luckily no accident happened but now i have a giant hole in my roof and its aftermarket so no shop i have been to has a direct replacement. Just the glass itself is gone the frame and motor are still functional.

My car is having a problem thats on the recall list but my vin# dont match. 1.transmission case porosty park power my driveway is on a hill and when it snows ill come outside and find my car at the bottom of the hill and then its hard to get it back up the hill even gunning it up does not work so ill leave it down there. 2. When the ground is wet from rain or snow i get stuck at the stop light i have to gun it to move the wheels spin out then i can go.3. Upon trying to accelerate, the "kicked" and jerked, then slowed slightly. When traveling uphill, and parking, transmission seemed not to have enough power. Rolls backwards while idle before taking off.

My 2008 saturn vue engine size 3600cc, 6 cylinders has been feeling like the transmission is slipping when you get up to a certain speed and this could be very harmful to other drivers that are driving.. Sometimes the car won't go into park or reverse and i feel that since there are 3 recalls on my vehicle and i was never notified that the gm place should have to fix this because someone could get hurt really badly if the transmission locks up while going down the road.

When car is in cruise control it is constantly downshifting to maintain speed even on flat surface. Apparently the gearing on the transmission does not support to weight of the vehicle and it cannot maintain the cruise control speed.the service department said there is nothing they can do.

I was driving with my family in the car, going around another stalled vehicle on the highway when i was not able to accelerate past 25 mph.my vehicle acted like it went into neutral, when it should have gone into 3rd gear.i was able to maneuver the vehicle to the side of the road with only brakes and steering.if this had happened while trying to merge onto the highway, i could have been rear ended.from the research i have done online it appears that gm is aware of a faulty 3-5-r wave-plate used within many of their 6 forward gear transmissions used on vehicles from 2007 to 2009.i believe this part should be replaced through a recall to avoid any serious future injuries in all vehicles using this transmission with the faulty wave-plate.i believe this includes 6t70 and 6t75 transmissions in vehicles from 2007-2209.

On april 12, 2014 i was driving on a major boulevard towards interstate 5 when the transmission shifted itself into neutral and revved the engine to an extremely high rpm. It was hovering quite close to the red danger zone on the gauge. As it was doing this i lost forward power and was moving forward on momentum only. It then felt like it dropped in and out of gear several times in quick succession. I was close to a parking lot so i hit the brakes lightly to decrease my speed and managed to turn the car into the parking lot and into aparking space just as the transmission appeared to re-engage. I immediately turned the car off and called emergency roadside service to tow the car to the dealer. The dealer was able to drive the car forward into a service bay but advised me that reverse was completely gone. Although i did not crash or sustain an injury, it was only because i got lucky and had a safe place to turn into. If this had happened 5 minutes later on the freeway, i would have likely died as that section of interstate 5 has construction work and no shoulder, so i would have been stranded and blocking traffic on a freeway with other vehicles and big rigs traveling between 55 and 80 miles per hour. It would have taken a miracle for no one to hit me in that situation. The vehicle is a 2008 with just over 50k miles on it - way too soon for such a major transmission failure.

While entering i-880 @ 45 mph increased speed to 60 mph to get into the flow of traffic. Car accelerated to 70-80 mph. Attempts to slow the car down by stepping on brake did not work but the car continued to accelerate to 80-85 mph. I had to switch lanes to not hit car in front. All attempts to brake did not slow the car down. Stepping on the gas peddle numerous times finally allowed the car to slow down. Initially believing car was in cruise control i did nothing. This happen 3 more times when i would accelerate to pass a car on the freeway and once on a private road. The latter was done intentionally, late at night, to assure my mind it was really happening. Car is in the dealer now and they are telling me nothing is wrong with it. This needs to be documented since this appears to be a very serious safety concern when a driver has no control of the vehicle and given the circumstances a lot of lives seem to be at risk including my own. This seems to be the only place to file this information since dealer stated that consumer complaint cannot be filed since saturn no longer makes vehicles. As i stated to dealer saturn is covered under gmc.

I was merging onto highway 696 in detroit area. Semi to my left, thought i could accelerate andease in front. Put foot on gas pedal strongly and it depressed all the way to the floor making the car quickly accelerate to well over 80 mph. Took foot off gas with no effect. Put foot on brakes and it tempered speed; no longer accelerated, but did not slow it down. All the while i could hear engine straining to accelerate but not being allowed to. Tried easing off brake but car started to speed up even further. Was practically standing on brake pedal now with left foot and did not slow. Hit gas pedal a couple times hard with right foot and pedal released and car started to slow, but have no idea if that was the reason it let up or just coincidence. Inspected gas pedal area. Nothing to encumber pedal. Nothing to catch on. No reason for it to stick. About scared me to death. If there had been a vehicle directly in front of me, i would have hit it. I was just shocked. I then had to pick up my kids in ann arbor and drive all the way back home to illinois worrying it would happen again. Will call saturn in morning to see what should be done.

I can not utilize the inside rear view mirror totally, because the tophalf of the insidemirror is taken up by the backside of theonstar panel, it is what you see in the mirror. Also, the rear seat head rest take up the lower half of portions of it, so i have to keep the rear seats lowered all the way down to utilize the lower portion of the mirror. So now i have a 2 seat suv. When people are sitting in the rear seat, especially with 3 people, you have no mirror view at all. Dealer said front mirror cannot be relocated and glued because of the wire going to it and the rain sensing windshield. There are a lot of dead spots in this vehicle, as to seeing your way clear! tried to remove rear headrest but was unable to.

This is the third time the drivers side sun visor and bar that extends visor was scalding hot! i turned the visor to the window for sun and burned my hand on the metal bar which did not have a plastic covering on it this time after a repair from october for the same issue. The overhead airbag was warm to touch and the lights in the car were shorting on and off continuously, even after the car was off and keys were out of ignition.last time in ocober 2013 had repair and bought anew battery because it run down after lights stayed on all night at the dealers until they worked on it.this was a very scary situation each time this happened because the car smelled like it was going to catch on fire! i burned my left hand fingers and went to urgent care upon returning home, luckily i was not too far away. I have paid for the repairs from pat moran's chevrolet and would like to warn you of the possible fire issue here. The stress from this experience was awful. This definitely should be on a recall for this vehicle, as i have heard others with the same problem occurring. .the simple fact is that the repair should of been done in october and this never happen again, but i know they did not replace the plastic covering also on the metal bar which extends the visor and this is where i touched it to turn and extend. I was told it was deemed safe from a repair in october, it was not. I may be possible that the high resistance short in the drivers side visor resulted in the bcm sensing an overcurrent issue. The bcm might of been removing power to that circuit as a matter of preservation. I do not feel safe driving this vehicle now after i have had another yet drivers visor put in and also a passenger side visor which is what the dealers blamed it on this time. Last time the blame was on a passenger pres module program-- .

When i'd use the windshield wipers, i lose all power to the drivers side headlight and the blinker would not work,all while the fluid is running out the back windshield wiper connection. I had the vue in for the same issue 4 times and was told this was a warranty issue at the beginning and when they finally fixed the grounding box and replaced the so called lifetime headlamp, i was charged 364.00. Not warranty covered. This started at around 36,000. Gm screwed us saturn owners big time.

The driver side vanity light/visor became damaged when the internal pins that stop the visor when sliding out to adjust broke and shorted out the wiring.the wires, which run through the metal visor pole would short out and heat the metal to extreme temperatures, causing burns to the hand and possibly be able to start a fire.dealership stated that they could not find the problem and refused to fix it.i disconnected the visor for time being until proper repairs could be made.

The saturn vue i own is a 4 cylinder and the heater core is cracked just as gm's document id[xxx] describes. I started to smell antifreeze coming from the vents, on about 9-3 we have gone to a restaurant that night and when we came out to go home, the inside of the windshield was fogged up, i tried to use the defrost setting to clear the windshield but it had no effect, i had no rag to wipe the inside of the windshield so i wiper it with my hand to get some visibility, i was forced to stop several times on the way home to clear the windshield by hand. I called saturn gm concerning the issue and they had me take the car to a gm dealer who confirmed that the heater core is cracked. Gm claims they have a customer satisfaction program to fix this issue so the heater core will not crack but they claim that my car is not in the programs group. The program reroutes the heater hoses so that internal pressure build up is reduced to a safe level and prevents the heater core from cracking the programs number is #09206a. From what i can find out the program started in 2009 and was to end 1-2011 but it has now been extended to 1-31-2012. As i said above they claim that the defect is for a group of vues with serial numbers 8s500002 to 8s645537 which would not include my car. If you read #09206a it describes what has happen to my heater. They state in this document " we have learned that your 2008 model year saturn vue, equipped with a 4-cylinder engine, may have been built with a heater core that could eventually fracture due to pressure fluctuations within the heater core. If the heater core fractures, you would notice a strong coolant smell, vapor or mist coming out of the heater vents, and or an oily film on the windshield." this is what is happening to my vue confirmed by the gm dealer and reported to gm.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

I have reported this to the dealership with my warranty an know it has expired an my car is getting worse it is completely pulling back while driving i feel like my life is in danger i need some help..

On a rainy day the wipers will stop working then eventually start back up.while using the delay wipers they would work half the time, sometimes go fast, and even stop.you just never know if they will work which is really scary on heavy rains.

The front windshield fluid will not spray onto the windshield

The passenger wiper arm disconnected from the motor while i was driving in the rain. Lucky i was near my home at the time.

The heating and ventilation is not functioning properly. This vehicle has automatic climate control. This same condition occurred under the extended warranty. The fan is able to be variably controlled for speed. The cold/hot selector does not change the temperature. The mode selector for the air distribution is stuck on vent mode. I have no heat or front defroster. The warranty fix was a computer re-flash the the h.v.a.c. Programmer. This has been ongoing for 7 days. Static or moving matters not. I do believe all motor vehicle ventilation systems should default to defroster mode!regards, m4rk

No heat. Got car 2500 miles ago now that its cold outside tried to use heater no heat. Installed new t-stat. Flushed heater core. Still no heat. Need help

2008 saturn vue. Consumer states that she needs to have her heater core repaired and the manufacturer's warranty has expired and gm has refused to pay the initial cost of the repair *tgwthe consumer stated because there is a design flaw with the heater hose, gm should pay the entire bill, not just half.

The contact stated that while driving 55 mph the vehicle stalled and the temperature and engine service light came on.the vehicle was driven to the side of the road.the owner put water in the vehicle and took it to a goodyear repair shop and dropped it off.they advised that the heater core was defective and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was being repaired by the dealer.saturn stated that they would reimbursement the owner for the repairs.the current and failure mileages were approximately 47,770.the vin was unknown.

Electrical issues with rear wiper and heating element(defogger) system. Pressing the rear defogger switch to turn on the heating element would instead start delivering windshield washing fluid continuously. Pressing the rear wiper switch would start the wiper in a very erratic and scary way. Whole system works in a spooky way.

Webasto hollandia 600 sun roof completely detached from the car while driving on the pa turnpike.i am the original owner of the car and it was installed prior to my picking it up at the faulkner dealership, saturn of jenkintown. The roof was installed by.rsc restyling in levittown, pa.i took the car to faulkner gm in trevose, pa for repairs and contacted my auto insurance company. A few days later i found out that the sun roof manufacturer had issued a recall notice for this exact problem. The sun roof was replaced at rsc and i attempted to find out why i was never notified of the recall. Faulkner gm wasn't aware of the recall notice. I contacted the owner of rsc restyling, [xxx}, who told me that the vehicle id numbers of cars that had these roofs installed were forwarded to the manufacturer. The manufacturer's reps claimed that my vin was never provided to them. Therefore nobody was responsible for the circumstances that could have easily resulted in a catastrophe.a defect might apply to a water leak, noise, vibration, faulty operation. This "defect" is more aptly defined as risking a catastrophe. The contact pulled into a parking lot to untangle the wipers. The passenger side wiper however, was no longer operable. The vehicle was taken to the dealer but the manufacturer was not contacted regarding the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 50,842 and the current mileage was 50,862.

The vehicle was not inspected by a dealer nor was the vehicle repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and they advised him to take the vehicle into a dealer and that there were no recalls on the vehicle. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.

2008 saturn vue this is the 3rd time im writing a complaint i havent heard anything back no call no letter from anyone at the recall. But my truck in the winter it has trouble going up a low hill while driving it and when its sitting on a hill parked ill look outside and find it sitting at the bottom of the hill. When its parked and i try to shift the gear to drive to go the stick locks up and it wouldnt move. And when driving on a street with not much snow i can feel the back of the car slide. If i dont hear anything back i will be going to the news for help.

When it snows my driveway is on a hill and my car is in park it rolls backwards down the hill and ill look outside to find it moved from were i left it. Now for the last few weeks if i park at the store, school,joband get ready to go try to shift the car on drive when i step on the brake to shift it i hear and feel click sound and cant move the gear.

I had been out to lunch and was pulling into a parking place in my workplace parking lot.i eased into the parking space and nudged the gas to get completely in the space.when i nudged the gas, my car accelerated on its own with such a force the car went over a concrete barrier in the parking space and i then hit a brick and concrete wall that was knocked down.an iron railing was on top of the concrete and that got smashed as well.my car was moving at such a fast and furious speed i had no control over it.as a result, my car was totaled due to the repairs that were necessary.this exact thing happened exactly three years ago in this car and it was the same situation.i was pulling into a parking place at a shopping mall and as i eased on the gas to pull into the space, again, my car accelerated out of control and i hit a truck that was in the space in front of where i was pulling in and my car stopped when it hit the car next to the truck.my car was repairable.thankfully, both of these times i was in the car alone.i have called gm/saturn and made a complaint with them....updated 09/28/15
