I noticed that my air bags were flipping on and off, and that when i hit the seat warmer the air bags flip back to on. I took my car to have it looked at and they told me that the heater in the seat was causing this problem. This is not safe at all.

Last year my airbag light kept coming on and finally stayed on all the time.the sensor for the passenger seat does not work properly.it does not indicate if someone is in the seat or not.we took it to our mechanic and he advised that we would have to replace the entire seat ( i have heated seats).this is very costly and i cannot afford it.i am concerned that the airbag will not function properly when necessary.i am also concerned that if this is caused by a short somewhere, my heated seat may catch fire.i do not use the heat for this reason.recently we are experiencing a key ignition problem.my husbands key, in particular, does not turn correctly.this is of concern to me because i am afraid that one day it will just lock up and not start. I do not want to be stranded on the road somewhere.i have been receiving messages from my onstar that there is a problem with the airbag.i hope these problems will be addressed by gm.i have seen similar complaints on this website and felt i should take action.

The contact owns a 2006 saturn vue. While driving approximately 55 mph, the seat belt and air bag warning lights illuminated. In addition, the passenger side air bag was not activated when the seat was occupied. The failure recurred several times. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 109,000.

The airbag sensor light on the lower left dashboard came on permanently when driving at 30 mph.there was no passenger in the passenger seat.this vehicle was purchased new in march 2006 and has never been in an accident, nor have the air bags ever been deployed.this vehicle does not a heated seats or any heating elements for the seats.this light will not turn off and after reading all of the complaints on the nhtsa.dot.gov website, there are many complaints of this same nature that have been reported by other drivers of this particular model so it appears to be a common defect and not isolated.this is a serious safety issue that i believe gm should issue a recall for repair of this problem because these sensors should not fail so prematurely.

I had just dropped off a co-worker when my passenger side air bag and seat belt light came backon with no one in the seat. I went down the road a few miles and the lights went off.i went a little further down the road when they came back on again.the next day the same thing happened except this time the lights remained on until the vehicle was parked and the engine turned off. This has happened twice so far, the first time march 4, 2015, and the second incident on march 5, 2015.i have had passengers in the seat before without the light coming back on after they have gotten out. This is a new problem that i have just recently experienced.i have only had the vehicle five months so i do no know if this has happened prior to me owning it.i will be taking it to a garage to be checked out if this happens again to try and duplicate the problem.

I have the same problem!!!!sometimes the passenger airbag will not turn on and the light on the dash says the airbag is off when a person is sitting there.i found that if you unbuckle your seat belt and get out and back into the seat it sometimes resets the light.several people have posted the same unsafe condition. See--"about 6 months ago the air bag indicator light for the passenger side started to become inconsistent in its on/off stages. We thought it was just the age of the car, but saturn is no longer in existence, so we felt there wasn't much we could do. After reading some of the recent complaints about the 2006 vue (on this site), we felt it necessary to advise that we also have similar experiences with the air bag indicator light for passenger side."don't know if the airbag will work?

Passenger air bag seat sensor malfunction. Seems that there are a large number of people on the saturn blog with same issue and same symptoms.

Takata recall? my 2006 saturn vue airbag systems light keeps coming on and then will go off. It's been doing this for years with no accidentin car history. Wondering if it(airbags) will go off in the middle of driving or not go off when it needs to.

The contact owns a 2006 saturn vue. The contact stated that the vehicle crashed into another vehicle on the rear drivers side door. The side air bags deployed however, the front air bags did not. There were no injuries and a police report was not filed. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer. The vehicle was destroyed. The manufacturer was not made available of the failure. The failure and current mileage was 155,000.

2096 saturn vue, with front seat heaters. Air bag warning light lit, diagnostic code bc092. Replacement part 15785010 is no longer available per dealership. After reconnecting wiring(left disconnected by dealership) and turning passenger heater switch on, error code could be cleared to turn off warning light. While off, passenger detection works ok and passenger air bag is activated. It only stays fixed for less than a day. Has left the error light lit and the passenger air bag disabled for over a year. Notice about 100 or so similar complaints on 2006 saturn vue's here; i wonder if the equivalent chevy suvs have the same problem.

The contact owns a 2006 saturn vue. The contact stated that while driving approximately 65 mph, the front passenger side air bag indicator did not illuminate while there was an occupant present. The failure occurred continuously. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for diagnosis. The technician stated that the front passenger side air bag senor and seat heating element would need to be replaced. The part was ordered and the vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the problem. The failure mileage and vin were unavailable.

Takata recall. My airbag light has been on consistently for the past few months. Came on one day i got in the car to leave for work it went off and came back on several days later and has been on ever since. I reached out to saturn to be told there is no recall on this issue, even though i have seen several complaints online about it. I was told i needed to set and appointment to have it looked at, which would cost $100 just to look at it. I have noticed people online paying over $1000 to have the light issue repaired to have the same issue again. Now i cannot pass inspection because of the indicator staying on.

The air bag light on the dash came on and went off for several weeks and when this would happen, the air bag stated it was not on even when someone was sitting in the front passenger seat. I took it the gm dealer in my area and was told that the air bag sensor and passenger side heater switch needed to be replaced. After researching this particular problem online, i found several reports on various websites of this exact problem occurring in this same make/model of vehicle regarding the air bag sensor/seat heater sensor. When the dealer was asked about this concern/repair, we were told it was not a common occurrence, even though online reports stated differently. My question is that since this seems to be a repetitive problem of the exact same nature with this vehicle make/model and year, why did gm not submit a recall for this serious safety concern regarding the air bag issue? ..updated 04/25/13

Hit a deer head on @ 50 mph, front end totally smashed in, air bags did not deploy.

I own a 2006 saturn vue purchase in january 2012 with 100,000 miles the problem is the air bag readiness light comes on almost constant . The dealer says its a pps problem this is a common problem in saturns .why is their no recall?

For second time within a year the airbag fault indicator has come on.

Bought a 2006 saturn vue in 2012. Within a year, had problems a couple of times with the key turning in the ignition switch. 2014:now it takes anywhere from 5 - 15 minutes every time to get the key to turn the vehicle on in the ignition switch.air bags: the symbol for the air bag keeps appearing on the dash board often.

Airbag warning light won't go off or service light.

The contact owns a 2006 saturn vue. While driving approximately 30 mph, the air bag warning light illuminated. In addition, the front passenger air bag warning light delayed to illuminate approximately ten minutes after the seat was occupied. The failure recurred numerous times. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 97,000. Ma 08/13/15the consumer stated the air bag light on the dash did not come on all the time. The passenger side air bag light would not illuminate for approximately 10 minutes after driving and the speed has reached 30 mph. The passenger and driver side air bags intermittently illuminate at different times. Updated 12/1/2015

Airbag system sensors for 2006 saturn vue are failing.a light is indicating thatairbags will not inflate in the event of a collision.this occurred just after my 60,000 mile warranty had expired.i was told this would not be covered by saturn as a warranty item.i feel this is a safety issue that should be covered and replaced by general motors.the vue currently has 88,000 miles.the vehicle will not protect passengers in the event of a collision in it's current state.correction made to year in description. Updated ivoq 01/19/11

The airbag warning light comes on when it is hot outside and will stay on for several days while in motion and while stationary, on city streets and on the highway.it may go off for a little bit, such as 5 miles, then come back on or it may stay on.these days can be both hot and humid or just hot with not a lot of humidity.i am concerned because of possible deployment which could cause injury or maybe it won't deploy at all if it was in a crash.i had the computer system read on 6/25/2018 and was told it is showing that it is something in the passenger seat.this has been happening since summer 2015.

About 6 months ago the air bag indicator light for the passenger side started to become inconsistent in its on/off stages. We thought it was just the age of the car, but saturn is no longer in existence, so we felt there wasn't much we could do. After reading some of the recent complaints about the 2006 vue (on this site), we felt it necessary to advise that we also have similar experiences with the air bag indicator light for passenger side.

Passenger air bag light shows that it's not active when there's someone in the seat and the air bag problem indicator light stays lit.this is an $800-$1,000 fix and there are numerous complaints.feel this should be rolled into the new re-call that was issued this week for the same issue!(already replaced the master control module for the electronics this past fall because everything started to fail!).

1. The off light of passenger airbag is on 2. If take brake the steering wheel will be shake, changed newbrakes, it is same.

I own a 2006 vue with heated seats. The airbag indicator light for the drivers side stays on at all times. I took it to a mechanic, and after a few days of diagnostics, he was perplexed. He took it to a certified gm dealership, and they told him the airbag system would need to be replaced. They did not tell him the reason, nor did they associate the problem with the seat warmer. They evaded further probing, and claim no responsibility, as "there is no system recall or report of defect". After reading through the hundreds of similar complaints, i believe there must be a defect.....or, i guess it is just a "coincidence" that several of the owners had this "freak" occurrence. Perhaps the costs of potential lawsuits over safety violations is less costly than performing a recall??

Passenger airbag light causes the airbag dash light to come on.even if someone is sitting in the passenger seat, the system doesn't always read that there is someone there and the sensor will not turn on the airbag on the passenger side.when airbag is off, the idiot light on the dash comes on.when it does read someone is sitting there, the sensor turns the airbag on and the idiot light goes out in the dash. Don't know if the airbag is going to work in the event of an accident.seems to be a big problem with these vehicles.gm don't you think you should pay to fix your mistakes?

The air bag warning lights starter coming on intermittently but are now on at all times.at first, with a passenger present no warning light would display, but after a few minutes the passenger light and dash warning light would begin indicating no passenger in that seat and the dash warning would come on.the passenger air bag off light and warning light would cycle on and off whether there was a passenger or not. Now the passenger air bag off indicator is on all the time and the air bag warning light on the left lower dash is also on all the time.we have no confidence that either air bag will function during an actual frontal crash and, given what appears to be a continuously degrading system/controller, i have no confidence that one or both air bags won't deploy though no valid air bag deployment command was generated due to positive crash sensor inputs.

1st issue. Both heated seats went out. Then passenger airbag sometimes goes off even with passenger sitting in chair. I can reset airbag with passenger heated seat button. This happens all the time and is very dangerous for passenger.key switch locks and i have to jiggle steering wheel to release.

I was driving and a truck stopped in front of me very quickly i didn't have time to stop. I hit the back end of the truck. Which had the tailgate lowered . The tail gate went through the whole front end of my car . Completely totaling my car . As a result my leg was pinned i suffered a concussion and whiplash as i hit my head on the staring wheel . My airbags didn't deploy driver or passenger side . The indicator light on the dash said the air bag was off for passenger side . I had a passenger in the car and neither air bag came out causing serious damage to my head and neck

The contact owns a 2006 saturn vue. The contact stated that the air bag warning light illuminated intermittently. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who stated that the spring needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure was 41,630. Updated 09/02/14*ljupdated 11/7/2014

The airbag light comes on intermittently.my saturn repair center says there is a problem in the wiring in the passenger seat.the problem is interrelated to the passenger heating system and the passenger presence sensing system.i am having the problem fixed.i am finding out that this problem is being reported by others. Saturn should be held responsible for fixing this problem so that it cannot recur in the future at their expense.it is obviously an engineering flaw that is putting my safety and the safety of others at risk.i have reported this problem to general motors and they have taken no action.

Air bag light keeps coming on intermittently and when check it showed the third row left side impact sensor.this is the second time that i have had issues with the air bag system.i just want to know why a recall hasn't been issued if this is common with all saturn?s.this is putting my family and me at risk.gm needs to step up and fix this issue.

Passenger air bag indicator on dash indicates the passenger air bag is off and the dash instrument cluster has the air bag warning light illuminated. Periodicaly te system appears to work but shortly thereafter returns to the warning status with person occupying the passenger seat.

Tried to have the car inspected and they told me it wouldn't pass inspection because of my airbag light on . They did a diagnostic and it said my passenger seat would need to be replaced or get the sensor for the part. Unfortunately the don't make the pieces for the car anymore . You have to go to a junk yard , but even they haven't had any any of the pieces.

The airbag light on the driver's side came on when driving at a speed of approximately 50 mph. It stayed on after driving about 15 miles then went off, and then came back on again and stayed on for several more miles.this was the first incident. Now, each time that i drive the car, the airbag light comes on and stays on longer. It seems to go off when i hit a bump and/or turn the wheel, but then comes back on again. I checked into having it fixed, and it could cost as much as $1200 to fix it. I was told the original system that was installed is faulty and that many saturn vue's 2006 have this same exact problem. I contacted saturn and they said that since there has not been a recall, they won't cover the cost to install a new one. This is definitely a safety issue, when the driver's airbag is not working!since there have been so many complaints about the airbag systems in the saturn vue, why hasn't saturn issued a recall? aren't our airbags supposed to last for the life the car or until there is a crash making it deploy? right now if i am in a crash, my airbag won't deploy and the reason it won't deploy is that the original system is faulty.

The contact owns a 2006 saturn vue.while driving 40 mph, the contact slammed on the brakes and struck a dog.the front fender and bumper were damaged.the contact was not injured.the fog lights were detached from the vehicle and the air bag warning indicator illuminated on the instrument panel.the air bags failed to deploy.the dealer stated that the air bags did not deploy because the seat heater circuit was connected to the air bag sensor.repairs could not be made to the air bag or air bag sensor because the element burned out.the failure and current mileages were less than 50,000.

2006 saturn vue. Front passenger air bag indicator light will not come on even with a heavy person. I was informed it was the seat warmer. Bad design! will cost $900.00 to fix.

While i was sitting in my car waiting for my daughter to get out of work, the car was running, when there was smoke pouring from the steering column.i immediately shut the car off and the smoke dissipated.this was 2 days ago and now my wipers do not work.my mechanic said that the air bag wires had caught fire and burned out the wipers.

Consumer complaint deactivation of 2006 saturn vue air bag. **ansferred to tis***the consumer request that an air bag on/off switch be installed on the driver's side of the vehicle.the consumer is 4' 10-1/2 inches, 88 pounds and has to sit close to the steering wheel in order to reach the gas and brake pedal.

The contact owns a 2006 saturn vue.while driving approximately 70 mph, the driver struck a deer.the driver pulled over to the side of the road and had the vehicle towed home.the air bags failed to deploy.the driver sustained minor injuries and the vehicle was destroyed.a police report was filed.the manufacturer stated that they would call the driver within 48 hours.the dealer has not been notified.the current and failure mileages were 96,000.

Airbag warning light says non-functional on both sides but intermittent.69 of 129 problems reported with 2006 saturn vue are airbag or electrical and many talk about this problem which may relate to heater in passenger seat.this passenger seat heater does not function in my vehicle.serious safety issue if bags are non-functional.why no recall.

I have a 2006 saturn vue with ignition and airbag sensing and diagnostic module (sdm) issues.i have checked online at the gm recall website, called my dealer twice and filed a claim at the gm recall hotline.i am frustrated with the lack of or slow response to this problem and i do not understand why our model year was left out of the recall cycle.my situation: my ignition became increasing tight/stiff/locked to where i could not turn my key or pull it out.i would have to shake the car or key to get it to turn on.my key can slide right out of the ignition while the car is running, (but sometimes i can't pull it out).i have also returned to my car and found it running twice now and noticed it was not totally in the off position anymore).at the same time my airbag indicator light became intermittent and finally stayed on.our mechanic notified us that the airbag sensing and diagnotic module (sdm) is no longer working.a dangerous safety issue.the dealers say that parts are not currently available for my model and my mechanic can not find them either.the cost is ridiculously high!i have now been on a mission to put in complaints with the appropriate divisions in an effort to see this situation resolved. (note this website list several complaints similar to mine and others.there is something linking the ignition and the airbags: (http://www.arfc.org/complaints/2006/saturn/vue/air_bags/problem.aspx))the 2006 model must be included in the recall before there are serious incidences.come on general motors corporation.help us life long loyal buyers out.loyal (but disappointed) gm customer white knuckling it everyday.

I have a 2006 saturn vue and i have several problems with my car. When i had a car wreck either of the air bags did not deploy but the lights stay on. I had to pay 596.00 to replace my key ignition and sometimes it still sticks. My driver door will not open and one of the seat belts in the rear has not worked properly.i see that they are recalling other saturns but not mines.

Airbabs - mulitple impact on passenger side and front. Causing passenger fron t wheel to break at axle and two rear wheels to bend under fraime. Airbags did not deploy

The contact owns a 2006 saturn vue. Tl the contact was driving 65 mph and noticed that the air bag alert signal was illuminated. The contact stated that the air bag light for the passenger side air bag would not illuminate, indicating that the air bag was turned off. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer where unknown repairs were made to the vehicle. After the repairs, the failure recurred once the seat heater was activated. The vehicle was not further repaired.the manufacturer was notified and informed the contact that she would need to return to an authorized dealer for diagnosis of the failure.the failure mileage was 35,500.

The contact owns a 2006 saturn vue. The contact stated that the air bag warning light remained illuminated. The contact also stated that the passenger side air bag warning indicator remained illuminated with a passenger seated in the front seat. The contact further stated that there was an abnormal knocking sound in the air bag housing on the passenger side dashboard of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed; however, the dealer refused to diagnose the vehicle. The contact was informed by the service department that there was no proof of a failure in the air bag. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 155,000.

Passenger side air bag sensor failed; possibly causing air bags to inflate while car in motion or no inflation if in accident.multiple reports posted on blog with exactly same saturns.cost to fix problem centers around $1050.00 with mine coming in at $1040.24.local gm repair center manager aware of issue & highly suggested i advise nhtsa as this is considered a safety issue!frustrated that saturn did not issue a recall. Report made to chevrolet @ 800-222-1020 with reference #71-934029515.

The air bag failure sensor lights up on the dash - indicating air bag system failure.the heated seats no longer function.however as long as we keep the heated seat switch on - the air bag failure sensor will not light, indicating that there is not a problem.as soon as we try to drive without the heated seat switch on, the air bag light goes on indicating system failure.mechanics have stated that we need new heated seats at a cost of over $1500.the car has less than 70k miles currently on it.reported to gm 12/2/2013 we were told it was the first they heard of the problem yet we see dozens of complaints with the same bizarre circumstances.

The contact owns a 2006 saturn vue. The contact stated that the air bag light constantly illuminated on the instrument panel. The contact also stated that the illumination of the air bag light indicated that the air bag was not functioning. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for a diagnostic test, but the dealer did not inform the contact what the cause of failure was or if any repairs were necessary. The failure mileage was 100,000.

Passenger air bag indicator on dash board continues to say no when passenger is in seat.if passenger heated seat is turned, heated seat does not work but air bag indicator on dash board says on when passenger is in seat. Situation is constant whether vehicle is moving or stationary.

Ever since i purchased the car, the air bags have been a problem. They were replaced in 2008 by the dealer. Well, air bag light indicator is on again. It's a problem with the heated seats on the passenger side and air bag indicator. If i turn the heated seat on passenger side on, the view minutes later the air bag light indicator goes off. Once i turn off the heated seat, the air bag light comes back on. It pretty stupid to run the heated seat in the summer time, but that's what i have to do to keep my family safe. None of the air bags will work unless i use the heated seat. I believe a recall should be considered on this before somebody ends up killed because of the air bags, if they have not already. I am also afraid that constant continued use of the heated seat will cause a fire.

Problem has been happening since around 2008 (maybe sooner).the air bag warning light will come on while driving, and turn off/on at random while driving at almost any speed. I've taken the vehicle to the dealer multiple times and reported the problem, and each time that are unable to reproduce the problem. This is a constant issue, yet the dealer can never find an error code on the computer or reproduce the problem, even when they kept the vehicle for multiple days.

The airbag indicator lights for both driver and passenger sides stay on most of the time, but are off sometimes. I obtained the error code from my onstar service, it is b0092. A google search returned hundreds of the similar complains about gm vehicles. I would like to raise your attention to this safety related design problem from gm.

I would like to file a complaint about my 2006 saturn vue. There have been many instances when the air bag warning lights have illuminated on my dashboard, especially the last 2 months. This warning light appears intermittently and i also lost the illumination of my dashboard one evening.after taking the car to my mechanic, he believes that air bag light is triggered when the seat is moved to another position. He also informed me that when the air bag light is on the air bags would not deploy due to a malfunction with the system. As someone who drives primarily on the freeway at higher speeds, this is very frightening to me!after researching this today, i cannot believe how many other 2006 saturn vue owners have this very same complaint! why has there not been a recall for this very serious safety issue on this vehicle?

Several issues with 2006 saturn vue to report: -air bag light comes on virtually every time the car is started.there is no one in the passenger seat- ignition- key can be removed from ignition switch while motor is running- ignition - key is virtually impossible to turn unless it is cajoled repeatedly.typical start up time is in excess of 5 minutes to find the "sweet spot"."sweet spot" tends to move on a daily basis.no particular technique works every time- ignition - key will become stuck in the ignition switch.results in a two to five minute careful tug of war with the car in order to remove the key.ignition switch had this problem before and was replaced (at owners expense of $214 dollars) and things were fine for approximately two years.now the symptoms (see above) have returned.- power locks - unable to lock doors (any) with drivers side lock controls.

The passgenger seat air bag light is on indicating the air bag is not on when a passenger is in the seat.when this first happened the air bag light would come on after a few miles but now it doesn't the warning light stays on all the time. I had it checked at the dealers and they told me that it would cost 1199.00 dollars to fix. I did not have the money so it did not get fixed. I am thinking that this should be a safety issue and should be a recall on it! will the airbag come on if i am in a crash? i don't like taking that chance.

Air bag indicator light for passenger seat comes on and off intermittently. Dealer says the first thing that has to be fixed is the seat heater element in passenger seat because it sets a code for the passenger side airbag. That is a cost of $300 plus and does not even fix any possible issue with the airbag. Don't know if there is an issue with the airbag for sure until seat element repaired.

Electrical system affected . Some dash panel lights not working & airbag light staying on

We just purchased a 2006 saturn vue, one owner, low miles (53,000). Had an auto check done and was happy it hasn't been in an accident and the auto check stated that there were no recalls. After having for two weeks the air bag warning light started coming on and indicating that there is a problem with the airbag system. This has happened several times. So i did some research on the internet about the subject and was shocked to see that this is a recurring problem that there seems to be no recall on. The research shows that airbags are not inflating or operating properly. Now i'm concerned about the safety of our vehicle and not having funds to repair such an expensive problem since gm has quit making the saturn. Please initiate a recall, so many lives depend on this.

In may 2014, my 2006 saturn vue awd's passenger air bag sensor failed to indicate a passenger was in the passenger seat.the light indicator, signaled off, and the air bag warning light appeared on the dash board.ever since then, the air bag warning light has remained on and the passenger airbag indicator has remained in the off position, even with a passenger.

Rear ended vehicle in front of me at intersection. Waiting on confirmation but most likely vehicle will be totaled due to front end damage. With the massive damage to the front the airbag did not deploy.

This time after being diagnosed again, with no founded reason for the throttle sticking (at mileage 130000 at the shop, the throttle stuck on hubby while he was driving only 40 mph on the snow covered roads. Throttle stuck and went to over 60mph, at that point he was no longer concerned about the tachometer nor speed. The car stopped only after hitting the guardrails. Police, medics and tow truck on scene, front end of the car was torn off to the ground, unsure of what all damage is done at this point. However the airbags did not deploy either! now this is truly a major incident and we shall see how my insurance company wants to handle the issue. I will not be looking for another saturn, that is for certain.

Electrical problems started at 25k miles and continues through today may 5, 2014doors unlocking while driving .both passenger and driver airbags lights go on and off at will.all panel lights would go out.i have replaced parking, backup and head lights 4 times in this vehicle.tag light keeps blowing, and i have replaced 4 times in 2 months i just replaced them sat may 2 and one is out now. I have to replace fuses every month for various things repeatedlythe front or roof interior lights are on every morning and they are not in the on position.the speakers fade in and outi feel like i got a lemon with this vehicle year and i have spent so much money paying for dealers to trace the electrical but they always claim they cannot locate any problems. I never had a problem with the other 3 saturn's i purchased. Ugh!

Able to take key out of the ignition while driving.bells go off opposite of what they should; when key is out after car is parked the alarm rings when door is opened.passenger airbag reads off always.passenger rear door will not close unless using extreme forse.

Passenger seat sensor defective. Indicator light says air bag is off even when occupied by an adult. When seat-belt is unbuckled, does not indicate passenger is unbuckled as programmed. Able to clear problem by unbuckling, raising up out of seat, forcibly sitting down, and re-buckling.

While driving home from a vacation trip we noticed the passenger seat belt light was brightly lit as on. At the same time i noticed the bright light indicator was showing to be on. After a while both lights turned off. In a short while, both lights appeared on again. Later, it happened again. I then took the headlights off of"always on" and the bright light indicator went out but the passenger seat belt light stayed on. When i turned the headlights back on the bright light indicator came back on. The odometer just turned over to the 40k mark. The vehicle doesn't get that much driving. Since we are currently dealing with airbag issues, based on the takata recall, we are very nervous of what we might be dealing with on the saturn vue.

Passenger side seat triggers the airbag light to come on. Does this mean that the airbags no longer work?

2006 saturn vue.consumer writes in regards to information on vehicles defective airbag problem.

Takata recall. My airbag light has been randomly going on and off. Some days i will turn my car on and it will stay on for awhile and then i will turn off and start back up and it will be off.

Can not turn on or off passenger side airbag using the button in above the radio and the light on the dashboard turns on every time i put something in the passenger seat. Even if it's a bottle of water my vue is a v6 automatic with the honda engine, but the transition between gears is not smooth at all it feels more like it's jerking into gear. When i put my car in park. I'm know one day i'm going to walk up to it and it won't be there because it will have rolled away. My vue rolls back n forth in park on flat surfaces. So on a hill it's scarry. It rolls more than my old car that didn't even have anti lock breaks. And a lot of the time using the e-break dosnt help all that much

Sitting in traffic at a light in drive with brakes applied not moving,1989 chevy pick up truck ,hit my back bumper, the light on my dash indicated the air bags deployed, and a light on my dash said passenger air bag is off,the air bags did not deploy.took my car to the nearest chevrolet dealer kendall of nampa idaho, they said code# boo92 5256 came up and they said the heating element for the passenger seat went out (no one was sitting in the passenger seat , and i never use the heated seats ) the dealer said the heated seats are connected to my air bags and my air bags can't be turned on until the heat element for the seat is repaired. I thought that a federal law was passed in the early 1990's that the air bag system was to be on it's own circuit so it can not be turned off by any other circuits? i can't believe this is true i bought this car in 2006 brand new ,and i feel the chevrolet corporation should be responsible for the repairs. Please respond as fast as you can because i have only one car, and the guy that hit me his insurance is looking into it .thank god i wasn't hurt or the guy that hit me,thank you for taking the time to look into this matter for me. Have a good day.

I started my car and as usual the airbag light flashed like it always does. However, the airbag light remained lit up, but the passenger airbag light never lit up as being "on" even though there was a passenger in the seat. I read up on the matter and saw that a lot of saturn vue's have had this problem and that it could be electrical and very costly. However, a recall has never been issued even though the manual clearly states that it could be an "electrical" issue and to have the matter taken care of "immediately!"how is it safe for a company to sell a car knowing full well that there could be and have been reported cases of issues with the airbags. The manual went on to say that it could result in the airbag deploying on its own without even being in an accident!so what i'm gathering is that instead of fixing a problem by issuing a recall the company would rather have people driving their cars, quite possibly on an expressway that has a speed limit of 65 mph and with family or friends in the car, have the airbag deploy on its own and cause an accident: which in turn can turn into a trial suing the company costing them more money than it would to fix the issue!seeing as this is my only vehicle and that i don't have the cash to shell out to fix this and that it's an ongoing problem with this vehicle, i think the company needs to issue a recall and have it fixed or face a lawsuit by many unsatisfied customers.

I have been experienceing problems with my ignition switch and smoke coming from my airbag. Anytime i get into my car and put the key in the ignition, it locks and won't let me turn the key, it takes several tries before it turns over. Once the car is on and driving on city streets light smoke will come from the airbag. I immediately would pull over and stop the car and wait for a while before heading home. This has happen several times with in the last 2 months. I'm concerned the airbag will deploy prematurely without an accident. I don't have a photo or documents, however i have made an appointment with a gmc dealership. Please let me know if there is additional information. Thank you

The contact owns a 2006 saturn vue. While examining the vehicle the contact noticed that the air bag warning light appeared on the dashboard. The vehicle was taken to the dealership where the contact was informed that the front passenger air bags would not deploy due to a malfunction in the front passenger seat heating mechanism. There were no prior warnings. The current and failure mileages were 49000. Updated 4/13/10 the air bag light would also illuminate when someone sat in the front passenger seat. Updated 06/17/10

2006 saturn vue passenger airbag sensor indicates off intermittently when adult is seated. Also, the passenger heated seat inoperable.airbag indicator on main dash illuminated when passenger light is off or during absence of passenger.diagnosis code of b0092 presented and dealer recommends replacement of airbag sensor and seat cushion.

Our 2006 saturn vue was purchased from a saturn dealership with just over 36000 miles on it and had this airbag light problem when purchased.we didn't know it was a problem until after we had it for a while.the passenger airbag light is in the off position almost all the time and once in a while when an adult is in the seat will switch rapidly back and forth but only on momentarily.the airbag light on the dash cluster is also illuminated when the passenger light is in the off position.

December 20, 2008- driving a 2006 saturn vue -i was sitting at a red light in the south bound lane of route 1 - intersection contee road.when another vehicle travelingnorth boundroute 1 - intersection contee road drove in the south bound lane of route 1 at a speed of 50-55 mph and hit my 2006 saturn vue (that was stopped) head on collision (frontal).the airbags in the 2006 saturn vue did not deploy on the drive nor the passenger side.injuries were sustained in this accident.this vehicle is equipped with four (4) airbags that did not deploy.the2006 saturn vue is not repairable - total loss.there has not been any indication or warning lights that the airbags were not functional.

The contact owns a 2006 saturn vue.while idling at a red light, the contact's vehicle was struck head on by another vehicle traveling approximately 50 mph.none of the air bags deployed in the contact's vehicle.she notified the attorney general, manufacturer, and the center claims division.she researched several complaints on the same component for her vehicle.the contact sustained major injuries to her neck, back, and knee and is currently in physical therapy.a police report was filed.the vehicle was destroyed.the failure and current mileages were 62,000.

2006 saturn vue has been in some three times for airbag deactivation. This occurs when the passenger seat gets slightly damp and is a safety issue in florida. Gm says to not get the seat damp.

Passenger airbag warning light on episodically.taken to gm service center, 1 june 2010.to date, 2 july 2010, the part has not arrived and was told i could drive the car but without a passenger until the part comes in.

I own a 2006 saturn vue. The passenger airbag "off" light remains illuminated or toggles between off and on when there is an adult in the passenger seat. This seems to have nothing to do with the posture of this person or their weight. The light (indicating air bag off) is usually lighted when there is a passenger in the seat. Vehicle was purchased used from a non gm dealer who states there are no trouble codes. Obviously i do not feel safe transporting my family in this vehicle.

My wife's 2006 saturn vue went out of control on a rainy road and hit a tree at direct impact.the airbag never deployed.thank god she and my son wasn't killed and only suffered minor injuries.

When an adult is seated on the front passenger side, the passenger side airbag sensor flicker on and off.i have received an onstar diagnostic indicating an air bag failure. It does not matter if there is anyone in the seat, the air bag warning lights continue to come on and off. This occurs every time vehicle is operated.i have taken this vehicle to saturn dealership where purchased and they charged me $190 to diagnose the problem and quoted an additional $1200 to fix. Since this problem has been widely reported on various websites, i believe it is a recall issue and saturn should pay for repairs.

I own a 2006 saturn vue awd in the 2 years i have owned the car here is a list of what has been replaced; 3 set of front brake rotors due to excessive warping to a point where they cant be turned which resulted in a shimmy of the steering wheel when the brakes are applied that keeping control was almost impossible. 2)rear wheel bearings at 25,000mi. 3) front strut mounts also at 25,000 mi. 4) pass seat air bag/seat heater module($907 one wont work without the other) 5) rear wiper motor6) windshield washer pump 6) gas tank vent valve solenoid switch (this makes the engine light com on) 7)3 yes 3 radios. 8) upper pass. Seatheater element.

The front passenger seat airbag is disabled at approx. 160 lbs.otherwise the system appears to work correctly.over time, either the sensor or the seat structure has changed and now leaves the passenger at risk even though the passenger is clearly an adult!the auto is out of warranty and the dealer requires payment even though this is a critical safety problem.

2006 saturn vue airbag warning light is on.when an adult is sitting in the passenger seat this indicator says airbag is off.if you hit a bump sometimes the airbag on light comes on and the warning light goes off (normal condition) but soon after reverts back to the airbagwarning light and passenger airbag off light on.manual says that airbag could deploy for no reason if the warning light is on.

2006 saturn view, light for driver's side airbag on nearly 100% of time.previously only noted issue during wet conditions but now is permanent problem.also have noted that the passenger side airbag light will blink from on to off with or without a passenger in the seat.

2006 saturn vue passenger seat air bag sensor failed, cost is over $1000.00 to repair.until repaired, the air bag on passenger side does not function!

The contact owns a 2006 saturn vue.he stated that the airbag warning light remained illuminated especially if the front passenger seat was damp.the dealer stated that the vehicle was designed that way.the current mileage was 24,000 and the failure mileage was unavailable.

I have a 2006 saturn vue the passenger air bag system is to be in off position unless a person weighing 100 lbs is on the seat then it goes to the on position. My car is 3 months old with 3000 miles and while my 11 year old dtr weighing 65 lbs was in the seat for over 30 minutes the air bag went to the on position.i am unsure whether it really turned on or not and i no longer feel safe with anyone in the front seat it is currently being fixed and i am not sure of the problem is with it. But, i am extremely fortunate that i was not involved in an accident because i don't know if the air bag would have deployed and could have potentially killed or injured my daughter . I feel that this is a safety hazard and should be looked at in case it happens to someone else and their loved one is hurt.

Constant air bag light indicator on dash for driver side comes on goes off....several times per day but everytime i would drive to dealership light would go off, which per tech could not pinpoint problem with machines used to show problemsuntil light is on and stays on 1.5 years later still dealing with air bag light issues, after replacement of sensor found air bag malfunction with drive side curtain which was finally replaced may of 2008 . Now having issues with molding that houses side curtain air bag which is now exposed.

Ugh!

I came to a complete stop at an intersection. When the light turned green my car wouldn't move. I had to coast across the intersection and have strangers push my car into the gas station. I called for a tow truck company to take my car to the closest dealer and then i realized i could drive in reverse but not forward. The dealership told me my oil pipe broke, which i was told feeds oil to my engine. I can't understand how a vehicle only 6 years old with virtually no underbody rust could have a pipe break without anything hitting it. The dealership told me that with temperatures fluctuating the metal expands and contracts. But wouldn't other parts have issues as well?

Original owner of this vehicle, still have it.the ignition wasn't right from the very beginning.i could remove the key from the ignition when the car was still running.there were issues with the alarm - it wouldn't go off despite the keys being in the ignition.i took the car in several times to get the ignition issue corrected.the issue we have now is the ignition won't respond to the key when it is inserted.additionally, it is not releasing the key when we try to remove it.ridiculous- an otherwise great car and we have had 3 other saturns and the ignition was always the only issue- ion, vue and sc3.

Purchased 2006 saturn vue redline v6 3.5 awd suv used on february 5, 2019. Surprised days later & since to safety concern involving body control module. Without warning, leads to loss of power steering, instrument panel gauges & lights, interior & exterior lighting, dome, head and brake lights. Seems to effect all electronic systems under control of this module, uncertain of all involved. Assume this would include airbags and other safety features. Sudden and unexpected loss of power steering leads to potential loss of vehicle control at high speeds. Internet searches reveal countless encounters by owners to this same issue. During cold weather especially, initial start up of vehicle in morning or after extended (few hours) parked, leads to loss of all electrical power, 3 minutes after start up, electrical system seems possessed. All lights, interior/exterior flash for several minutes. After, check engine light on, believe code is p0685. Seems to indicate pcm. Also causes loss of power after driving for period of time. I have personally lost power steering and electrical power at 65 mph at highway speeds. No speedometer, no anything. Nearly lost control of vehicle, narrowly avoiding head on collision with cement median divider. Cannot believe there is no recall! cannot believe there has been no fix for owners without cost. What will this take? death of an owner?

The contact owns a 2006 saturn vue. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the ignition would move without the key being inserted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the technician diagnosed that the ignition switch was defective and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised that the vehicle was not included in any recalls. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 60,000 and the current mileage was 80,000.

The contact owns a 2006 saturn vue.the contact stated that the key failed to be removed from the ignition. The key was able to be removed only after jiggling the key in the ignition.the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who stated that the ignition switch needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000.updated 8/11/14

The key will not turn in the ignition to start the engine and/or to stop the engine.i was told that the key was worn out and needed to be replaced but this did not fix the problem.this has occurred on a daily basis sometimes not allowing the vehicle to be turned off and at other times not allowing the vehicle to start up.if the vehicle stalls on a busy highway and cannot be started, this is a serious safety concern as well as if the vehicle cannot be shut down in case of an accident or fire.

I was stranded several times by the ignition switch refusing to turn or engage to start the engine.i checked recall notices and noticed that other years, like the 2004, had received recall notices to have the ignition lock cylinder replaced.i never received a recall and i would like to know if i missed a recall notification.i had to pay $332.30 (including labor) in july, 2016 to have the ignition lock cylinder replaced, including having the lock cylinder rekeyed to my original keys.my mechanic told me he had just had another person in the previous week with the exact same issue.is there any recourse for me?

When trying to start the vehicle the key will not turn in the ignition.it started several months back where i would have to try to turn the key several times and it would finally turn and start.it is now completely locked up and the key will not turn at all in the ignition switch. My brother also owns a 2004 vue, his was doing the same thing and he said that he had to have the ignition replaced.

My cars hubcaps have fell off several times and j can't find a size that fits 2 of them so i don't have any. My ignition switch gets stuck while parked and i've been locked out if my car several times. There are times where it won't turn at all and i have to lock the steering wheel and try to jiggy the key forever. The key doesn't turn all the way to the off switch and the key can be removed while driving. Now my passenger side door won't up. I use the key to unlock the door and the thing pops up but the door won't open and since i only have one door with a key hole all the other doors stay locked as well. So i've spent hundreds on locksmiths or i have to keep pulling the handle or banging on the door or my husband pushes the door an shakes the entire car. This is embarrassing and frustrating as well as dangerous since j can't lock my doors. Sometimes when i leave the doors unlocked they lock on their own after i walk away. I have to crawl through the passengers side door to get in when the drivers door won't open. This car has a mind of its own!

2006 saturn vue with 18,000 miles. Three times, while my 73 year old mother was driving, the entire warning light cluster has come on while driving. The first occurrence she pulled over and stopped the motor. She restarted it and the lights remained on for about 1 mile, the vehicle seemed to be working okay, then the lights went out before she got home. She reported it to the dealer (it is a lease vehicle). They asked her to drive it in the following day; they could not duplicate the problem and returned the car to her. The same thing happened about two weeks later. This time the lights remained on and the dealer said it was traced to a bad electrical connector. They replaced the connector and returned the vehicle to mom. About two weeks later the lights all came and the electronic power steering system failed. Mom could barely turn the wheel enough to pull over. Fortunately she was stopped at the time talking to a friend on the street near her house. If she had been in traffic there surely would have been an accident. The dealer sent a tow truck right away and picked up the vehicle. They have replaced an electronic module and the lights stayed on; they now have changed the main computer and a totally different bank of lights came on. Now they are working on getting her a different vehicle, one that she can feel safe in. Even if they replace everything in that vue and get the lights to stay off she does not feel confident about driving it -- if the steering fails in traffic there will be a wreck and possible injury/death. The dealership in colorado springs where she leased it from is doing everything they can to make things right -- their service has been great, just a piece of junk system in the 2006 vue.

Most times when i try to turn the key, the ignition gets stuck and will not turn.i have to jiggle and flip the key several times before i can get the key to turn.it's been replaced once while under warranty but has started doing it again about a year ago.at some point, i'm not going to be able to get the car started.

7-25-2016, i wakeup to use bathroom, then looking out to my backyard i see my lights on my saturn vue are on. So i quickly get my keys and try turning lights off but they wouldn't turn off, then i go outside to vehicle to turn them off but they still wouldn't go out. So my husband wakes up and comes outside and turn vehicle on and switches switch back and forward and then they go out. But what is going on with this vehicle why is this happening?

My 2006 saturn vue key will not turn in the ignition. The steering wheel is locked and will not turn to the left however it will turn very slightly to the right if pulled hard. For 4 hours 3 different people tried to jiggle the key that i had been using and my spare while turning the wheel. After blisters and sweating in the 98+ degree weather we had to call a tow truck. The driver again tried several things and looked at me and said that this was a serious problem. A total inconvenience being at work and having an infant. My vehicle has been towed to a gmc dealership. I am seeing this same problem reported constantly.

The key falls out of the ignition. The key system is unsafe.

The contact owns a 2006 saturn vue. The contact stated that the ignition switch and the power system failed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 10,000. The vin was not available.

Problem with the ignition. It's very difficult to start up the car with the original car key.

I have been having trouble with the key sticking in the ignition and not clearing the system when i take it out. The system still dings when the key is out of the ignition. Twice on july 3rd, the ignition locked up totally. The first time i was able to wiggle the key after 30 minutes of trying and start it. I took it to a dealer where they made me a new key. Three hours later the ignition locked up again. Waited 3.5 hours for a tow truck, continuing to wiggle the key with no luck. Mechanic got it to turn but towed it to get it fixed... 29 other complaints on this site of the same thing.. How many have had this happen without reporting it??? time to check it out and get a recall!!! i have also had issues with doors closing and converter torque, not repaired under recall as dealer stated they could not duplicate the issue.

On 1-19-2015 i started my car (after it had been sitting for 2 days/it was very cold) and the exterior lights, interior lights, dashboard, radio, blinker signals, all began flashing. It would stop for a second and start again, during this time the car seemed like it was going to conk out, but didn't. This went on for about 5 minutes. When i pressed the gas pedal the flashing would go faster. Also the seat controls and door locks would not work. After about 5 minutes it stopped and the car was fine. That same thing has happened roughly 4-5 more times, lasting 5-10 minutes each time. The car has only stopped running 1 time (luckily in front of home) and started fine the next day. Took video and went to local mechanic. They checked the battery and alternator (both fine-no $ charge), also checked recalls for car (nothing). Told me to go to dealership or electrical mechanic. Thought perhaps the alarm system, due to flashing. After going online, i have found alot of people that have had the same problem and it is not cheap to fix. This vehicle needs to be recalled to have the problem fixed. I could cause a severe, deadly accident if this happened while driving, also the doors would be locked because they lose power.

I thought i received a recall notice about the ignition switch. When i'm driving along, it's possible to pull the key out of the ignition, and that shouldn't happen! when stopped, the key can also be pulled completely out before the ignitionswitch has come to the off position. It is very hard to then get the key back in.

The contact owns a 2006 saturn vue.the contact stated that the key needed to be shaken several times prior to starting the vehicle.the manufacturer was notified of the failure. A private mechanic diagnosed that the failure was the ignition switch. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown. The current mileage was 113,005.

Hitting 2 deer going 60 miles an hour and the passenger air bag never opened. The red light for passenger airbag has been on since we purchased the vehicle. We also have problems with electrical being the dashboard lights always flicker and the left side lights and blinker do the same. We also have had problems with the ignition being the key will not turn over, we have to be very patient and after quite sometime it will finally work after you remove the key several times and try try again. We have had to have brakes done numerous times at least twice a year. I sure do not understand why this vehicle was not on the recall list.

Noticed radio screen was not fully illuminated & my seat belt warning 'chime' stopped working when belt was unfastened. Had this problem w/ another vehicle (1999 acura integra) & it resulted in replacing the ignition cylinder. As a result, i started jiggling the saturn key to see if there was improper/ inadequate circuit closure. When i jiggled the key, it was loose and came out, but the car remained running!since then i have experienced several similar incidents and the radio display still does not display fully across the screen and the seat belt chime still doesn't work.(approximately may 2013) i started having difficulties getting key to turn in ignition enabling the vehicle to start. I went to gm dealer to get a new key in case that might rectify the problem - it did not. Recently (august 2014) asked a non-gm mechanic about key turning difficulties. He indicated 'tumblers' gets 'sticky' & prevents key from turning & that it would get worse until i replaced ignition lock cylinder. I checked on-line for recalls, as so many gm vehicles were having problems with their ignitions and safety equipment. The 2006 saturn vue wasn't on the list. I went to local gm dealer (buick/ gmc dealer in naperville, il) in september 2014 & they confirmed the 2006 vue was not covered under a recall. I went ahead and provided my vin #, proof of ownership (title and drivers license) and they quoted a price of $90 for the ignition cylinder, $60. To obtain and use the gm code to program the new ignition lock cylinder, & this did not include a new key! they did they work & even included a key @ no additional cost. Now i am attempting replacement of ignition lock cylinder, but it requires key to be turned to the accessory position to remove the cylinder. I can't get key to turn, so can't replace cylinder and the car is not operable.i believe 2006 saturn vue should be recalled too.

Intermittant airbag fault indicter in instrument panal when key turned on and off. Passengerpresent airbag ilndicator goes back and forth intermittantly from on to off again on ignition turning on and off..

I had to replace the ignition switch a couple of years after purchasing the 2006 saturn vue. When removing the key on numerous occasions it would twist my key and eventually wear down the key which required replacement. Eventually the key got stuck in the ignition and i had to have the car towed and ignition replaced at my own cost. It is doing the same thing again wearing down my keys and practically twisting it off when i try to remove the key from the ignition. I have worn down many, keys in the past 8 years. Too many to count, which are expensive and very time consuming to replace. I don't want to have to pay to replace another ignition again!!!! i need help with this problem.

Car was parked in parking lot after half an hour.dash ignited in flames.

I was driving at highway speed about 60 miles per hour stepped down on accelerator a little harder in order to pass somebody and the throttle stuck wide open engine was racing car was speeding up. I tried to use the brakes but they were insufficient i shifted the car to neutral pull over and then turn the engine off when i start it again the problem was gone. I do not wish to drive this car until this is fixed

The contact owns a 2006 saturn vue. While driving 60 mph, an abnormal clicking noise was heard from all four doors and the interior dome light remained illuminated. In addition, when the contact attempted to start the vehicle, two small lock icons displayed on the instrument panel and the vehicle failed to start. The vehicle was taken to east hills chevrolet of freeport (42 east sunrise highway, freeport, ny 11520), but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000.

The contact owns a 2006 saturn vue. The contact stated that while driving at 55 mph, a puff of smoke and an abnormal odor emitted from the steering wheel without warning. In addition, the high beam indicator flashed on and off independently. The contact also stated that on another occasion, the high beam and low beam headlights operated independently and failed to shut off as the vehicle was off. The contact was able to shut off the lights by starting the vehicle and then shutting it off. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 162,007.

You know this is a problem but your not doing a thing about it doors are not able to open inside or out no one can get out in a collision they are stuck to die. Mostly rear where children are mine wont open from any side manually or elcronically im not alone many posting of trapped people. With the roll over rating of this suv its a must to get those doors open to escape recall these things an make gm fix there mistake lives depend on it . The doors are stuck shut will not open no matter what you tryread other post im not alone many people trapped in these suvs

I am the 2nd owner of my saturn vue 2006. Since i acquired the vehicle i have been able to remove the key while the vehicles is: running, stationary or driving, in-gear or not. I've always thought of this as a unique feature (it's been surprisingly helpful!). Today i saw something about a "gm ignition switch recall" (no, i don't live under a rock, i just missed this). I entered my vin and it didn't come back with a recall associated with it, so this might not even be an issue? i just want to be certain in case this is a dangerous "feature". Thank you for checking for me!

The contact owns a 2006 saturn vue. The contact stated that the key was able to be removed from the ignition switch although it was not in the off position. The contact was made aware of nhtsa campaign number: 14v490000 (electrical system). The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 71,000.

The date and mileage i entered are approximate.for several months, i have been able to remove the key from the ignition switch when the key is in the run position.at times, i have turned off the ignition and removed the key; and then had difficulty inserting the key the next time i went to use the vehicle.the key slot position is not in the off position, but in the run or accessory position.this seems like it could lead to a problem if the key should come out of the switch when i am driving.i assume i would be surprised, and instinctively reach to pick up the key.this could lead to an accident while i was distracted looking for the key.i believe this is not acceptable, and gm should replace the defective ignition switch.

When starting the car, the key will get stuck and not turn in the ignition. I have to keep jiggling the key multiple times to get it unstuck and turn. Turning the steering wheel does not help. It has been happening more and more frequently over the past year or so. More recently, when i turn the car off, the ignition gets stuck. When i take the key out, i can feel it does not register and release inside the switch. The car still dings when i open the door as if the key is still in the ignition. I have to put the key back in, jiggle it, and then take it out.

Smoke coming out of steering wheel, while in motion on a city street.

Electrical system affected . Some dash panel lights not working & airbag light staying on

Upon initial startup, electrical systems do not work in the dash and light and power steering. After it warms up, it will begin to work. Sparks and burning smells have come from the dash area. This problem is particularly bad in cold weather. If you attempt to drive it before the electrical systems warm up and start to work the sparks are really bad and you have no power steering. This problem appears to be very common as i have seen several posts about this issue and other complaint boards. This problem has been occurring for at least a year and a half but it's particularly noticeable in the winter..183k miles.

2006 saturn vue. Front passenger air bag indicator light will not come on even with a heavy person. I was informed it was the seat warmer. Bad design! will cost $900.00 to fix.

The contact owns a 2006 saturn vue. The contact stated that as the vehicle was started, smoke was coming from the steering column. The fire department was notified who removed the steering column from the vehicle. The fire department informed the contact that the wiring on the turn signals and the light switches were burned. No one was injured and a fire report was filed. The manufacturer was not notified of the issue. The failure mileage was 62,065.updated 08/01/12*lj

The ignition switch will not turn with the factory key to start the ignition.the key has to be jiggled, and/or removed and reinserted several times for this to start the vehicle.

On 5/26/14 that morning my car wouldn't start so i got jump start. Late that afternoon again it wouldn't start, but battery under warranty, so i got a new one. Driving home that evening, with kids in car, going through intersection car loses power! luckily we were not hit. I managed to start car repeatedly to get to the side of the road. On 5/27/14 car was taken to dealer and was there till 5/29/14 and i was told it is the ignition switch and need to pay $295.00 since there is no recall. This is a very dangerous situation i was one light from entering the fwy home. I hate to think what could of happened at higher speeds.please look into a recall.

On the first start of the day, at or below 24 degrees f, the interior items flash on and off until the electrical system warmed up. I also learned that if the ignition was on for about 3 minutes it was the same as if it was running. I live in nashville and for the last 3 years it only occurred when the outside temp was 24 degrees or below. The flashing on and off of the lights and equipment is the body control module protecting them when the charge rate is too high. It was considered an intermittent problem and who cantroubleshoot at or below 24 degrees? a month ago (july) it started all the time, no flashing, no steering, no dash instruments, etc. Longer story short with the plug removed from the alternator (it controls the field voltage through the ecm/pcm) the alternator was still putting out 18.5 volts. This definitely should not occur but something was bad wrong inside the alternator. It was boiling the acid out of the battery too. Once the alternator was removed (bench checked failed) and replaced it all went away. It will be interesting to see what happens when the weather gets below 24 degrees again. This alternator is manufactured by gm, is discontinued and no longer available from gm. Only remanufactured units from china are available at the aftermarket parts stores. There is no troubleshooting procedure in the maintenance manual for this problem. The alternator plug can be disconnected without any disassembly. This was the second failure of the alternator on this vue the first occurred at 87,000 miles. It seems there is a design flaw in the components of this alternator.

The contact owns a 2006 saturn vue.the contact stated that the fuses that regulate the tail lights and instrument panel constantly blow out.the failure has occurred five times.he has not taken the vehicle to the dealer.the current and failure mileages were 25,000.

Ignition switch is difficult to operate, added graphite lubricant but only partial relief. Other models of same year having same problems. Gm should recall and replace switch.

I was driving down the highway at about 60mph when my instrument cluster and radio/dash lights went out. I felt the car stall and lose power steering. I was able to exit the highway and stop on an off ramp. I then smelled and saw smoke coming from under the hood but could not find exactly where the smoke was coming from. I had the vehicle towed and then discovered in the morning that the electrical wires under the fuse box caught fire. The fuse box was damaged pretty severely and the car is inoperable.

Ignition switch would not turn - dealer pulled ignition tumbler, vacuumed the socket where a pile of metal shavings were seen inside the socket, inserted old tumbler, cut a new key and charged 75 dollars.12 months later, same problem.i had a new key cut, and the ignition switch turns like it should.does my car have a potential ignition switch risk???? as gm describes for a lot of other carsmy daughters 2004 saturn vue v6, had the same problem, and three keys later she sold it and bought a new car.

The contact owns a 2006 saturn vue. The contact stated that the key was stuck inside the ignition. The failure occurred on numerous occasions. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed that the ignition needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The vin was not included in nhtsa campaign id number: 14v490000 (electrical system). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 80,000.

I had to have the ignition switch replaced car would not start this was on 10 7 2013.

2006 saturn vue ignition switch turns extremely hard most of the rime when trying to start the car.i can also remove the ignition key when the key is not in the 'off' position.i have been told the reason it turns so hard is because it's a safety mechanism.i have to rock the key back and forth for a couple of minutes, sometimes.other times, i only have to rock it once or twice.i can feel it 'catching' and not wanting to move past the off position.being able to remove the key without it being in the 'off' position is a safety issue.the key has always turned hard sine i purchased the car in 2009.it has gotten much worse in the last six months.this happens whether i am parked on a city street, or any other place including inclines and declines, my driveway, etc.the ignition is in the off position and i am trying to start it when it turns extremely hard.

It is difficult to turn the key in the ignition at times.i am forced to rotate the wheel to the locking position, turn it to the middle of the lock and turn the key with excessive difficulty.in other situations, it is incredibly easy to remove the key when the ignition is not in the off position.

All four head lights out of nowhere just started to flash and it went from a flash to out not coming on at all and i have checked all fuses relays and lightbulbs just driving down a dry road no water at all

When you try to start the car when it's cold, all of the interior and exterior lights come on, radio comes on, and then the lights and radio go off and the power steering stops working. After a few attempts and about 5 minutes pass, it works properly. Some times, unexpectedly, all the lights in the car start flashing, ireplaced the ignition switch, body control module, the alternator, and have a brand new battery (2 in 6mo). Nothing changes.

1st incident date 1/29/2008 mileage 2956,vehicle was towed to dealer, 2nd incident 3/12/14 73,780, keys continue to presently get stuck in ignition, it locks up, you have to wiggle, try to turn steering, ignition doesn't lineup, after waiting to prevent from breaking key in ignition it lines up after wiggling lock steering, this happens all the times sometimes prefer not to turn car off, to keep from being stranded, this has been happening again for at least 2 yrs. I now have 74,000 miles.also i've experienced 2x's car not starting, everything shutting down, door won't lock, lights wont turn off inside vehicle, radio works, but car won't start, or do anything, last incident 3/12/14 brand new battery purchase 5/17/2012. This last incident vehicle had to be towed to dealer.

It is impossible to turn the stuck ignition switch on to start the engine.is more of a problem in hot weather.

Ignition key falls out while vehicle is running and in gear, driving down the road.automatic transmission.

Door latch failure rear passenger door will not unlock, door stuck closed. Lock mechanism failure. This is a hazard as it makes it so children can not escape a vehicle in the event of an accident. This should be recalled just as the 2008 model has been. This appears to be a common saturn problem as stated on the saturn fans discussion groups.

I have had problems with the seat warmer on the drivers side since we bought the car. The radio changes from radio to cd by it's self. I have had to replace the alternator twice since 2012. There is serious electrical problems with this vehicle & gm should fix them!

Bought a 2006 saturn vue in 2008. Within a year, had problems: ignition switch/key. Does not function as it shouldwith the key turning in the ignition switch. Replaced tumbler. Worked for awhile. It broke again. For both times it takes anywhere from 5 - 15 minutes every time to get the key to turn the vehicle on in the ignition switch. I am a 60+ year old woman who works nights. If i have to leave an area quickly for my own safety, i cannot do so.the ac fan shuts off as soon as the exterior car temp reaches 100 degrees. Had that fixed two years ago. But the problems persisted. Now the ac only blows warm air when and if the fan works.door locks: keys function inconsistently. Passenger side door does not allow me to lock all doors, which it once did.fob: functions inconsistently despite battery replacement. Windows; do not close all the way, allowing rain and air in.steering wheel: shakes. Had it fixed. Shakes again between 60-70 mph.i am fed up with this car. Will never buy another american made car.

Have been able to remove key when not in off position for years. Frightening that this could happen also while driving.also have had some scary incidents where the key would be stuck in the ignition. It took a lot of pulling and tugging and sweat to get it out. Why hasn't this been recalled for 2006 vue's??!! this is extremely dangerous.

I have an ion and a vue. My ion is in for the recall and i just had to have the same part replaced on the vue. I was not able to even turn the key it just completely locked up on me. Luckily this happened before i even started going anywhere as i had my 3 children in the vehicle. So i went and got the new ignition, paid for the locksmith to match it too my key and now it is running again. I think you need to look closer at the other vehicles also as what was happening with my view was identical to what the ion was doing.

When ignition is locked and engine is off, you can move the gear shifter to any gear.also while operating the vehicle the key can be removed.

My 2006 saturn view was discovered to have wiring located directly above the fuel tank chewed causing the metal exposure of the wire.this wire was not shielded, as should be, and due to location above fuel tank could have been a deadly situation due plastic fuel hoses just below the wires.all wiring into the fuel tank and adjacent to fuel lines should have extra shielding in case of not only chewing by rodents but possible rubbing actions.

When it is cold, it is very difficult to turn the key in the ignition. Its takes approx. 30-45 minutes to try and get the key to turn over. Also, once the car is on it is extremely easy for the key to come out of the ignition while the car is running. My transmission also shakes uncontrollably in the park of brake position. When going up and hills or driving on rough roads my speed decreases with out my control. My check engine light comes on at least once a month. I have had to go it checked but, was told that the problems they are mentioned are not problems at all and they can not understand why the engine light keeps coming on.

Passenger side seat triggers the airbag light to come on. Does this mean that the airbags no longer work?

Able to take key out of the ignition while driving.bells go off opposite of what they should; when key is out after car is parked the alarm rings when door is opened.passenger airbag reads off always.passenger rear door will not close unless using extreme forse.

While driving the gauges stopped working. Gauge lights stopped working . Pulled over jiggled the keys and after re-start everything returned to normal. This has happened several times . It all points to the loose ignition , jiggle the keys and allis fine . I removed everything from key ring , this seems to help.

There is a recall on this vehicle, 2006 saturn vue for 2014 and i was told this can no longer be fixed. It is a recal number 14506 and i need to know where i can get this repaired. I can remove my key while the ignition is still running.

This has to with the ignition switch.for at least the last two years and maybe longer i have had problems with my ignition switch.the key will get stuck and not move in the ignition.therefore i cannot start the car.not good if you need to go somewhere or are trying to leave somewhere.also, i have the reverse problem, i will try to turn the car off and the key will not "switch" all the way to the release point, therefore causing me to often have to take the key out of the ignition a full stop before it is truly off.this of course is troublesome the next time i start the car because i have to try and work the key first back to the initial ignition position and then start the car as you would normally. Also, i can pull the key out of the ignition going anywhere from 0 - 65 mph down the street / highway with the car obviously in drive.i can have the car in park and running and pull the key out of the ignition and the car will continue to run / operate as if the key was still in the ignition (obviously not safe).saturn / gm, you state that you care about the safety of your customers, whom by the way, entrust themselves and their children to gm cars.please do the correct thing and immediately include saturn vue 2006 owners in the ignition switch recall who clearly have an ignition switch problem as well.

The ignitionlock on my saturn vue has been giving me problems over multiple occasions since may of this year. It locks and at times doesn't allow the key to turn the car on and sometimes once on, it doesn't allow it to shut off. I have taken it into a certified dealer for repair and it took 3 tech's to find that the only issue they could find was a wiring issue under the car but still nothing with the ignition lock as it works on and off. I have reported this with saturn once already and they have done nothing to remedy the situation. I have been stuck at random stores and late for work and even had to rent a vehicle to take our son to see the specialist in another state. We took it for a oil change today and new battery and once again the tech had a difficult time with turning the key. However seeing as it was at a walmart oil & lube express, they were not equipped to handle that type of repair. Today's mileage is 132200. I am highly recommending against anyone i know of buying saturns at this point. The customer service is far less than desirable and i wish i had never made the purchase myself.

When you try to start the car when it's cold, all of the interior and exterior lights come on, radio comes on, and then the lights and radio go off and the power steering stops working.after a few attempts and about 5 minutes pass, it works properly. Some times, unexpectedly, all the lights in the car start flashing, the locks on the doors lock and unlock repeatedly while driving.we've replaced the transmission, the ignition switch, the alternator, and have a brand new battery (2x in 6mo).this car is possessed! i worry for the safety of my teenage daughter while driving this car.

During day light hours i was driving on interstate 10 back to pensacola. I manually turnedthe light switch for the headlights on. I drove my 2006 saturn vue for about one hour as i was pulling into a rest area i reached to turn the lights off and i discovered that the light switch handle was to hot to touch. I feel that this switch is somehow shorted internally. This extreme heat could cause a fire in the passenger compartment. I spoke with a saturn dealer and the service manager stated that saturn had no other complaints on this condition. He would not check out my complaint. Most people owning this car would not know about this problem because the light usually turns on automatically when it turns dark outside.

Dt*:the contact stated while driving 35mph on the highway, the vehicle's interior filled with smoke and the instrument panel failed to illuminate.the contact managed to pull over without incident.there was a large amount of gray smoke, but no actual flames were seen.the smoke stopped after the ignition was turned off.afterwards, the contact drove the vehicle to the dealership for inspection who determined the lighting fuse had blown.after replacing the fuse, the instrument panel failed to illuminate again.the manufacturer was alerted.

2006 saturn vue, vehicle doors would not open, engine miss fired, then shut off. Towed to dealer, dealer stated bad battery......second time vehicle same thing just shut off.... Also ignition key entry sticks when trying to start vehicle, dealer said to have replaced but still sticks when trying to turn to start.....

Multiple occurrences of keyed ignition switch locking up and no allowing vehicle operation (more than 6).thank god there was no emergency necessitating immediate use of our vehicle.just episodes of being late to work and getting home from work.finally the vehicle as towed to the dealer.we were informed this was known issue with the saturn vue.but there was no recall they manufacturer just lets its customers swing in the wind until it fails for good presumably they think they are saving money but not so if they are on the hook for the towing while under warranty.which is why they manufacturer's failure to notify owners and recall for this problem is inexcusable!

The contact owns a 2006 saturn vue. The contact stated that the ignition switch and the power system failed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 10,000. The vin was not available.

My ignition won't let me turn my key easily, it has to be wiggled then it will then catch, so it's hard to turn my car on!

The contact owns a 2006 saturn vue. The contact stated the ignition key would not turn properly or remain secure when positioned in the ignition switch. While driving on two separate occasions the key had fallen out of the ignition switch without intent. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer who stated the ignition switch lock needed to be replaced. The lock cylinder had been previously replaced in may of 2007. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 18,000updated 09/21/11*lj

Bought this vehicle brand new. Some other minor problems waiting to be fixed. As i see others are having the same problems. Major problem: key and tumbler will not work. First time was shocking to me. Took me over 1/2 hour to get it to work. Ok now i am not stranded. Called dealer, they were great, replaced the tumbler assembly. Shortly the problem came back. Called the dealer. They then replaced the housing and tumbler. Work good for a while. But still will some minor hang ups. For a 3rd time it got stuck so bad i was stuck. Got the key to finally turn the car on and it ruined our vacation because we could not trust the vehicle to work properly and dealer was closed. The tumbler again was replaced. I was told the brass in there was broke and the housing looked fine.i am waiting for it to break again and cannot trust my vehicle at only 18k. Sad don't you think. If i was really thinking right within my first year i could have filed the lemon law on this vehicle easy. No tumbler should break or wear out the easily. I was told that saturn has a report to make sure the customer does not have a large ring full of keys because that may wear out the tumblers. This is not he problem here. It is an obvious defective engineering design flaw or just cheap materials, metals or assembly techniques. Then need to solve this quickly. Would you buy a new saturn when your friend is stuck because his key does not turn the new vehicle on?dealer was great this is not a problem with the dealer. They are simply replacing bad parts with bad parts and doing all they can with what they can.

2006 saturn vue key won't turn . Car stays in locked position so can't crank car. Have to hit on key with something heavy to get it to engage and turn has been in shop where all they did was put some graphite in lock. Say on chat room that many saturn owners have same problem and saturn can't fix it.

The contact owns a 2006 saturn vue. The contact stated that the key was difficult to remove from the ignition switch and hard to turn into the on position to start the vehicle. The contact replaced the original key as a temporary remedy and was able to start the vehicle. In addition, while traveling approximately 40 mph, a metal piece and spring fractured when the brake pedal was depressed. The contact also heard a clicking sound upon starting and turning off the vehicle. The battery was replaced by a repair shop and later the alternator was replaced, but the failure recurred. The dealer stated that there was a loose wire and the ignition cylinder needed to be replaced. The technician indicated that in order to complete the repair and find where the spring came from, the ignition cylinder would need to be removed. The ignition switch was not tightly connected. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000.

Saturn vue 6 cylinder, since we bought it key is hard to turn.once almost had to stay overnight on way home from vacation, because car wouldn't start.was under warranty so they supposedly changed the cylinder.i was able to start car, but nobody else can.mentioned it again to dealership and they gave me new keys, several times.this past weekend my son borrowed the car and had lots of trouble turning the key, so took the car in to saturn again and he said the key was worn and after we kind of argued about it, he admitted it was a very common problem of saturn.went in on internet and found it is more than common.don't know what dealer will do for me, i just have 3000 miles left on warranty, but i left car there, because last week i also took it in for a grinding metal sound and was told it was the timing belt, which they changed, but within two days the sound was back, so i left it there hoping against all odds that they will truly fix it.there really should be a recall for the ignition key problem, since in 1 1/2 years time they haven't been able to fix it right.the mechanic actually indicated it could not be fixed, because there is a design flaw.

The key will not turn to start the the car. You have to wiggle it and apply the right amount of torque to get it to turn and start the vehicle. I replaced the key from the dealership with the same negative results.

I own a 1998 sc2 and a 2006 saturn vue. I have been having problems with the ignition locking, i.e. You put the key in the ignition, attempt to start the vehicle and the key won't turn. This had been happening on my 98 for several years and it's always been resolved by jiggling the steering wheel, which then "loosened" the key,so i always thought it was due to the key or lock "wearing down". About 2 months ago the same issue started occurring with my 2006 saturn vue. I again figured maybe the keys were wearing down quickly, so i switched to my "spare" and the issue seemed to resolve itself. A few weeks later the same ignition lock up started happening again, on the vue, you would put the key in the ignition, and you just couldn't turn it, the steering wheel would also lock with very little "play".the issue was again always resolved by jiggling the steering wheel and the key. The dealership is an hour away from my home, and since it seemed to be resolved with steering wheel jiggling, it wasn't a top priority on my list. Tonight was the be all end all-igot in my car to go to an appointment and the steering wheel completely locked up and the key wouldn't turn at all. I had to have a tow truck come out and take my car to saturn to have this fixed. The tow truck driver was able to finally jiggle it and get it turned.this is ridiculous- i'm lucky i was at home when this happened. I often attend dog shows out of the area-what would i have done if i had my dogs with me hours away from home? worse-what if i had children? i've done a search on this problem with saturns and it seems to be a common issue. They really need to fix this problem.

The contact owns a 2006 saturn vue. When the vehicle was started, the key disengaged from the ignition. In addition, when the vehicle was turned off, the key failed to disengage from the ignition. The dealer stated that the ignition switch needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 100,000.

#1.ignition switch failure. Key gets stuck in ignition switch, causing the key to not be able to be turned or tobe removed. #2. Steering is vague and hard to keep pointed in one direction, possibly due to the use of electronic steering. Also; the car sways profoundly over uneven surfaces, due to the suspension design. This lack of suspension design integrity, coupled with the use of electronic steering causes the vehicle to operate in an unsafe manner,(causing the vehicle to meander from side to side, often into other lanes of traffic, unless the driver is constantly correcting the steering input). Please help to force saturn to recall these vehicles for the safety of the public! please note that i have driven other saturn vue's, and they all seem to behave the same way.thank you!

Ignition switch is hard to turn, i have to turn the steering wheel to the left really hard to get the switch to turn the car on.this has been happen to me several times since i had the car since 2005.i thought that maybe there would be a recall on this problem and i would like to mention the shaking of the transmission and i did take it to the dealer because of the recall i received but it started back shortly afterwards the "so called repairwas done.i noticed that the shaking, rattling and loud vibration from the transmission was when driving at a high speed and having to slow down to 40 or slower this is when it would happen and now it happens all the time.i have also noticed that when the motor is being turned off and on lately there is a sound of shaking and rattling like something is loose.

The contact owns a 2006 saturn vue. The contact turned the key in the ignition and a fire ignited. The fire department responded and extinguished the flames. In addition, the headlights became dim and the doors on the vehicle were unable to be locked. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The vin was unknown. The failure mileage was 79,200.

The ignition switch stopped working with the factory key. The key would get jammed in the ignition and not turn on and jiggling it would turn ignition on. Good car but the ignition should not be messing up.

I had to have the ignition switch replaced car would not start this was on 10 7 2013.

Durning after purchase ... My saturn vue started turning off during driving ... Also turing corner now timing belt has slip away completly stop the car from runing. Or cramping and starting.

The dashboard lights flicker off and on and it's hard to steer i lose power steering.

The airbag warninglight on the dashboard has come on when the car is both in motion.at first i thought it was when the outside temperature was really hot, but then it came on when it was about 75 degrees outside.it sometimes would stay on for 50 or more miles and other times it would stay on for only a mile or two. Those short timesit would go off for maybe a mile or sometimes 3-4 miles then come back on.when the warning light came on, the interior of the car would smell faintly like something was hot or maybe like gun powder. It hasn't come on for a month now.sometimes i thought it was when i hit a bump that it would come on or go off.but it did it when the road was not bumpy. It did it last summer and this summer. It would sometimes be on when i shut the ignition off, but not always. Sometimes it would be on when i started the car again, but not always. It did it both in town and when highway driving.

The contact owns a 2006 saturn vue. The contact stated that while driving approximately 30 mph, there was a sudden loss of engine power with out warning. The contact mentioned the failure was experienced several times. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where the failure was unable to be duplicated. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 84,000 and current mileage was 92,000.

Engine goes into 'low power mode' resulting in the vehicle limping along.this can be dangerous because when it goes into this mode no matter how hard you depress the accelerator it goes no more than 5mph.this often occurs just after starting the vehicle. The service engine soon light and the low power mode lights come on.

The contact owns a 2006 saturn vue. The contact stated that the vehicle turned on, but did not start without warning. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the vehicle "jumped time and damaged the engine". The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that there was no recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 74,000.

I was pulling out of a parking lot onto a street when i had to stop for oncoming traffic. When i applied my brakes, the engine started racing and the rpms shot up like the accelerator had stuck.the truck started to lurch forward and i had to throw the vehicle in neutral to avoid being hit by oncoming traffic.at first i had thought that maybe my foot had inadvertently slipped partway off the brake onto the accelerator because my boots were wet and slippery from the snow, or that it was because of the extreme cold we were experiencing.i do not believe either was the case because it has happened two othertimes since then in the span of three weeks, and all at different temperatures and driving conditions.one time i was driving down the road and as i let off the accelerator the vehicle sped up as i was approaching a red light.i had to throw the vehicle in neutral again to avoid an accident.at that time i was probably driving approximately 20 mph and this occurred on february 26, 2015. The third incident was once again pulling out of a parking lot onto a roadway when the vehicle once again lurched forward as i was applying the brakes and the engine rpms shot up. I believe this incident occurred on march 3, 2015.a check of the accelerator linkage and pedal showed the linkage and pedal to bein excellent condition.

Car is 5 speed manual transmission. While shifting stick shift disengaged from shift cable. Unable to get car back in gear. Plastic adjuster p/n 15212802 failed where it mounts to stick shift. Turned on hazards and arm waving warned other drivers of difficulty. Others helped push car out of way. Due to complete failure of part car was not drivable. No way to put car in gear. If happened at high speed results would be possible life threatening.

2006 saturn vue, owned since new; started vehicle 3 days ago, engine sounded loud.when vehicle was driven, a broken, rusty bolt/stud with a nut on it was found on the garage floor with a fair amount of rusty debris.i began inspecting the exhaust system, and found the stud had broken off at a collection point for the two-into-one pipe between the engine and the catalytic converter. On-line search revealed multiple forums with people complaining of similar issues.i do not live in an area with abundant road salt.

2006 saturn vue has a/c system leaks in the same location of compressor hose and causes it to break.the hose was replaced last weekend at a pep boys location.i had the same mechanic look at again today and he noticed that the new hose is broken in the exact same location as the previous one.

We bought a saturn vue in june of 2006. 2 months after we purchased the vue we had to bring it in for exhaust and converter and oxidation replacement. Then 2 weeks later we had to have the ignition lock cylinders replacedwe could not start our truck. Then in 07 we had the converter and manifold replaced. We were told that the manifold was torqued to much from the manufacture.then june of this year same issue with the exhaust and converter again. Say the replaced a spring in the converter.

The 2006 saturn vue had an exhaust bolt broke when taken to dealership at scottsdale saturn. The bolt was connected to the exhaust manifold up by the engine. They said it must have broke off but i didn't believe them. So it would have cost to much at the dealership and took it somewhere else to get it fixed, but still think saturn should have fixed it for free. I think it should be a recall because they saturn said the bolt was so hot that it broke off. Also the ignition switch started giving me problems now and the keys are ok, it's the ignition switch and there should be a recall on that to. Alot of people with 2006 vue saturns are having the exhaust problems and ignition problems. What could you people do for all of us. Please help, thank you.

Bought my 2006saturn vue in july 2006second day i noticedthat the radio and onstar was very low with the volume turned up all the way. Took it back they replaced the radio.a few weeks later the radio went out completely they had to order a radio which took 5 weeks to get so i had no way of using onstar nor the radio dealership said it was a safety issue so they wouldn't put me in a loaner car.got my vue back3 weeks later it went out again then came back on. They took it and reset it gave it back to meand it wont hold the time rightand the volume doesn't work all the time now. The dealership told me that i was over working the radio and if i needed to buy me an after market radio that would be better for me and they wouldn't replace it again.

Airbag warning light won't go off or service light.

The dashboard lights flicker off and on and it's hard to steer i lose power steering.

Ugh!

While driving the gauges stopped working. Gauge lights stopped working . Pulled over jiggled the keys and after re-start everything returned to normal. This has happened several times . It all points to the loose ignition , jiggle the keys and allis fine . I removed everything from key ring , this seems to help.

The 2007-2006 saturn vue v6, a joint venture between honda/gm has the same honda odyssey drive train as honda's current recall for fuel pump cover. Is the saturn model affected as well and if so who would fix it?

First the vehicle has made a strange noise from the rear of the suv. I thought it were just the tires but i took it to a shop and found that the bearings on all four tires needed replaced. Shortly after, we were stranded on a rainy florida afternoon at a stop light when the vehicle would not move.the transmission can go into reverse but no forward gear. Cost to replace/ rebuilt $2500.00, more than the car is worth.furthermore the radio turns on whenever it wants to, it fades in and out of all local stations. Worst american car i have ever purchased. That is probably why they went bankrupt.

My car developed a dangerous crack in the fuel pump.as a result fuel would leak out and a strong gas smell was pervasive.i was told i should park the car immediately due to the danger.the mechanic also told me that this was a "very common" issue with my make and model of car.i did some research and found multiple other models of gm cars, including saturn (but not the vue) have been recalled for that exact issue.the recall was even more specific for cars in "warm weather states" including nevada.i am the original purchaser of the vehicle and it has been registered and used in nevada all it's life.i have tried to contact gm about my concerns at the lack of recall on this part, and been met with only silence.i find it very, very hard to believe that a part that is the same, cracked the same way, in the same environmental conditions was not included in any sort of recall from gm that put my family and i at grave risk.we just had to spend over $1000 to get this item repaired, and have kept the old part for reference.i would encourage a search of similar problems with the fuel pump in saturn vue cars or other gm products in warm weather states to see if gm can be motivated enough to do the correct thing and issue a safety recall on this part that could lead to a catastrophic fire.thank you in advance for your consideration.

While driving the road the vehicle started to lose power.the further i drove the less power i had until the vehicle stalled.i was able to start the vehicle after a few minutes but when i stepped down on the gas pedal it stalled.the vehicle was towed back to the dealer on saturday evening.the dealer contacted me on monday and said that the electric fuel pump was faulty and he would have to order one from the factory.i picked up my vehicle on tuesday evening and it appeared to be running fine for the momment. I made thee quarters of the way home and the vehicle started losing power again.i attempted to turn around and go back to the dealer but the vehicle stalled out like before.the vehicle was towed back to the dealer again and the new fuel pump had to be replaced again. I picked the vehicle up approximately a week later and it has been running okay ever since. In fact it has been running better that new new.now the emissions light is coming on and going off after a couple of days?

Fuel sensor. Car will act empty and not start when it's a quarter of a tank or under. When completely full will sometimes not start or acts very sluggish. I never know when the car won't start.

My car has, again, demonstrated failure to accelerate during operation.the car has been "repaired" by the local gmc dealer in oct 2011 and again earlier this week for the same problem.i picked the car up on wed evening, two days ago, and the same problem recurred today on my way back to the office from lunch.i do not feel safe driving this car!once the gas pump fails to operate, it simply will not move until the car has been turned off and allowed to sit for a while.

Durning after purchase ... My saturn vue started turning off during driving ... Also turing corner now timing belt has slip away completly stop the car from runing. Or cramping and starting.

My car will occasionally fail to accelerate.the gas pedal seems to have no effect at all - the engine is running, but pressing the gas pedal does not rev the engine or cause the car to accelerate.sometimes this occurs just after i apply the brakes, but other times it just happens when i am driving.the acceleration never recovers until i stop the car, turn it off, sit a while and re-start the engine.the problem will recur sometimes immediately and sometimes not for some time.the first episode happened in oct 2011.after 2-3 incidents over the course of a few days, i was able to take the car into the dealer.they merely cleaned the "connector to app sensor to pcm."this problem recurred last week and with more severity.initially, the problem returned last week, twice, but i was unable to take the car in for service.while driving out of town for business on monday night, the problem recurred three times.while returning home on tuesday, the problem recurred about 15 times during the course of an approximate 60 mile drive.i took it to the dealers upon arrival home and they said it was the same problem, but described it as "resealed all connectors related to elect throttle system."they told me the problem was excessive corrosion on the parts, more than they would expect in 7 months, because of our location on the coast.searching the internet, i have discovered that my problem is not an isolated one.there are numerous blogs and sites where saturn owners describe the exact same problem i am having. A local mechanic also advised me that this same problem was identified in a saab vehicle, which he advised me had the same parts as my car, and that the saab vehicle was recalled.

1) leading events - purchased the car in 2009 used from a certified dealer, was provided with 2 separate sets of keys.within the first 6 months of driving i noticed increased difficulty in starting the car with the keys provided.alerted dealer and was given another set of keys.2) failure - key to ignition frequently sticks and stays in the ignition while car is running.also have identified that the steering wheel frequently locks which makes it even more difficult to start the ignition. 3) initially i was given a replacement key from the dealer that worked on and off.the car will be turned in for service this weekend to determine what the defect is if any on the car.estimated cost $250-$500.

2006 saturn vue rear door latches both do not work - doors fly open - had trouble after 2 years on passenger side, got it working, then a year later both failed completely (out of warranty of course). I understand there is a recall on 2008 vues, what about 2006?

The rear driver side door will no longer open from the inside or outside. The door lock button for the door goes up and down when the doors or locked or unlocked and i can hear the mechanism in the door operating.

I was unable to open my drivers side door from both the outside and the from inside of the vehicle.i called the dealer in my city, they were able to replace the door latch. I was told that this is a common problem with the saturn vue, so i was surprised that i was charged for the replacement.

The contact owns a 2006 saturn vue. The contacted stated that when all four power doors were locked with the key fob a few moments later all doors would unlock independently.the failure caused the security system to sound when accessing the doors. The contact mentioned that to deactivate the security alarm, the contact would use the unlock feature on the key fob. The contact stated that the failure occurred on numerous occasions. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the lock switch needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 45,000. The vin was not available.

In addition, the headlights became dim and the doors on the vehicle were unable to be locked. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The vin was unknown. The failure mileage was 79,200.

The contact owns a 2006 saturn vue.the contact stated that the rear driver side door was unable to be opened from the inside or outside of the vehicle.the dealer advised the contact to bring the vehicle in for diagnostic testing and the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. No repairs were performed.the current and failure mileages were 70,000.

Rear doors fail to latch. Happened to both rear doors on separate occasions, both times with children in the backseat.

Within 6 months 3 of the four door latches on the vehicle have failed and would no longer latch. In the first two cases no problem other than the door latch mechanically failing has been found and the latch has had to be replaced. The third latch is intermittently failing and needs to be replaced.given that they are all mechanical failings of a critical safety component and i can think of no easily explainable reason other than design i thought i should report it as a concern.

The contact owns a 2006 saturn vue.the contact stated that the rear passenger door lock failed, which caused the door to open while driving 55 mph.she took the vehicle to the dealer and they stated that there was a defect in the vehicle.the dealer replaced the door latch.the contact believes a recall should be issued.the current and failure mileages were 65,000.

The door latches are failing intermittently and the doors will not close. We have had to tie the back doors closed with rope to prevent them from opening while driving. I've seen a recall for this on the 2008 models, what about the 2006 models?

I have an '06 vue.both of the back doors will not open from the inside or the outside.the factory was no help.i am in the shreveport area and was very disappointed that they would not help me.they were not even sure if they could fix the problem.recall needs to be done.had to take my vehicle to a body shop to have it serviced.

A few times since the summer of 2003 we would try to shut the rear passenger car door and it would not catch to close. We put some lithium grease thinking it just needed that.this weekend while putting the kids in the car the door would not shut.it took 30 minutes of manipulating the handle, door locks and window to try and get the door to shut.we cannot let our children ride in the car because we know the latch could fail and our children could be put in harms way.

The contact owns a 2006 saturn vue. The contact stated that the inside door handles on the rear passenger and driver side became inoperable and prevent the doors from latching and closing.the vehicle was taken to the dealer. The door latch on the rear passenger side was replaced at the owners expense. The rear driver side handle was not been repaired.general motors was contacted and stated that someone would call return her call. The failure and current mileages were 70,000.the vin was unknown.

The contact owns a 2006 saturn vue. The contact stated that the rear driver's side door lock failed. The latch did not lock and was unable to unlatch while it was locked.the contact mentioned that on one occasion, the door flew open while the contact drove with a passenger in the rear seat. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 127,000 and the current mileage was 129,000.

The contact owns a 2006 saturn vue. While driving approximately 35 mph, the vehicle shuttered and averaged between 100 to 200 rpms without warning. The contact called joe holland chevrolet and imports at (304) 744-1561 (located at 210 maccorkie ave, sw, charleston, wv 25303). The contact was informed that he would be referred to a different dealer, but this did not happen. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to nhtsa. The failure mileage was 145,693.

When ignition is locked and engine is off, you can move the gear shifter to any gear.also while operating the vehicle the key can be removed.

Gear shift cable detached from the shifter, a piece of plastic broke.

Noise from rear of the vehicle began sporadically around 30k but the dealer said they couldn't find anything wrong. At 41k the noise became more consistent and the dealer said the problem was the rear clutch and would cost $1,500 to fix as the warranty ended at 36k.

Vehicle was driving normal.mph begin to decrease as the rpms increased.eventually stopped pulling all together.appears to be transmission related.

I bought the in june 15, 2011 two weeks later had a loud grinding noise the dealership fixed the problem which is right front wheel bearing then it was fixed 5 more times, the totaled of 6x. Now the center drive shaft support bearing is bad. Please i need your help on this matter.[xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

The contact owns a 2006 saturn vue.the contact stated that the manual transmission became stuck in the park position, which prevented him from shifting into drive.when he attempted to place the vehicle into gear, the gear shifter became limp and fell off in his hand.the contact purchased the link parts and installed them at least two times.the link parts were made of plastic and do not last whenever the vehicle is shifted into park.the failure mileage was 67,000.

Can not turn on or off passenger side airbag using the button in above the radio and the light on the dashboard turns on every time i put something in the passenger seat. The 2007-2006 saturn vue v6, a joint venture between honda/gm has the same honda odyssey drive train as honda's current recall for fuel pump cover. Is the saturn model affected as well and if so who would fix it?

I would like to register a complaint about the 2006 saturn vue.the carrier bearing is defective on many of these vehicles, enough so that the manufacturer has reformulated the part.this hazard occurs in many vehicles with very low mileage.this is a potential safety problem and should be recalled, but as of yet, has not been by saturn.the availability of this part is non-existent at this point.please address this problem before anyone is injured by this defect.thank you

Shift cable on 2006 saturn vue broke after only 47,000 miles.had always been very hard to shift but i was told this was normal.

I am the owner of a 2006, 6 cylinder saturn vue. Jan 2011 i took my car to an authorized saturn dealer. Lannan chevrolet in lowell, ma because the coolant light was on. They did a diagnostic and said the coolant had to be flushed, i got this done at the dealership.august 11, 2011 i was coming out of boston and at a few red lights the engine didn't seem to want to go. As i was exiting the tunnel going onto the zacome bridge my car just lost all power and died in the high speed lane, i was traveling about 60 miles per hour. I had to put on my hazard lights and call 911. I was told to stay in my car and keep the lights on. People were beeping and i was scared i would die from being hit. The police officer arrived and told me i had to move the car from the speed lane to the right shoulder of the road. The car wouldn't move. He kept telling me shut off and start it again, shut it off and start it again, after 5 attempts i was able to move the car to the right lane before it finally died. They could not get the car on the flatbed because the ignition would not turn. After several attempts the ignition turned and the car was towed to south boston state police barracks. From there i had to get a tow to someplace locally as this was an emergency tow. I finally had the car towed to lannan chevrolet in lowell where i was told the following day the transmission was gone. I called staurn customer service and filed a claim. The car has 53,076 miles on it and the transmission went without warning. The district manager of lannan chevrolet said "i must have abused the car and revved it" i was told she told the service manager daryl that she didn't want to hear anything else about my vehicle. Saturn customer service told me the claim would be escalated to the "next level" and they never heard of any transmission problems. Upon looking up the vehicle on the web i have found thousands of complaints form saturn owners concerning the transmission and a class action law suit. Gm?

Vehicle engine revs between 30-40 mph and surging is felt while driving.vehicle also sluggish at times upon acceleration.car was in shop first time and they ignored my concern.the second time (now) car has been in the dealer service department for 30 days and they cannot diagnose problem.they are contacting gm technical assistance and will have an engineer examine the car now.

My wife's 2006 saturn vue has a transmission defect that is not in the newer models.you can shift into gear without your foot on brake while the key is in acc.i told saturn and then said gm said that is the way it is designed to work.they did change it on the new models and every other car you must put your foot on before shifting. I had it back for it and they said nothing could be done. Can you help me with this.

Vehicle was recalled for torque converter. While in the repair shop it was found that the center support bearing for the drive shaft was coming apart, ie: rubber bushing was separating and needed to be replaced. I was told this is a common problem. Was also told the front lower control arm bushings were separating.the cost for the bearing was between $450. And $500. Dollars, the control arm bushings repair would be $280. Dollars. I believe these parts are defective as the car only has 53,731 miles on it.the bearing defect will cause a vibration of the drive shaft as it becomes worse.the control arms will cause a clunk when going over bumps.

Vehicle: 2006 saturn vue manual transmission. Twice in the last 4 months the manual transmission has failed catastrophically while driving on the highway. In both instances the shifter separated from the transmission and the vehicle was stuck in gear. The second occurrence was on an i-95. The saturn dealership replaced and end clip the first time and the shifter cable the second time. They are telling me that the occurrences are unrelated - different parts and balking at fixing the defect without me paying for it. I have found several internet sites in which people are complaining of this same failure over several model years in the saturn vue. I was lucky that i did not get in an accident with this failure - especially the second time on i-95.

The contact owns a 2006 saturn vue with manual transmission. He stated that when he goes to move from one shift to the next.the shift gear became stiff and broke.the vehicle was taken to a mechanic twice for the failure to be repaired.the vehicle was repaired but this is the third failure.the failure mileage is 61,000.updated 09/17/09.

Upon lowering the seatback, the middle seatbelt became "locked" in the lowered. This is the first time i have lowered the seat..

We rarely have put the rear seat in the folded down position but did so this past weekend to bring home some baby gear from a friend's house.when i tried to lift the seat back to the upright position it wouldn't raise.it appears that the middle seat belt locked and will not release.we have three (3) children and must have all three (3)seat belts usable.went online to search for help and we found many incidents of this happening on multiple year saturns which would indicate a serious design flaw; yet we will be liable for the expense because the warranty has passed unless we can find a way to release the locking mechanism.

Had vehicle less than three years. Driver's seatbelt clip has a plastic piece that breaks off inside the housing of the floor harness. Took to dealer; told there was nothing they could do outside of replacing--@over $300. When asked about replacing the middle seat harness, was told it was another size ... Really? isn't there a law for seatbelts and attendant safety.we are running belt through passenger loop when double front occupancy.

In 2006 saturn vue, the rear seat is a 2/3 split bench (the rear passenger- and middle-seatback fold down together to accommodate for large objects). Upon lowering the seatback, the middle seatbelt became "locked" in the lowered position. The dealer told me the only remedy was to cut the seatbelt. They then told me they would not pay for the seatbelt to be replaced (warranty has expired on interior parts). I believe it is a manufacturing defect, and should be replaced at saturn's expense. There was absolutely nothing i could have done to prevent this from happening. I was using the automobile features as they are intended to be used.

All four head lights out of nowhere just started to flash and it went from a flash to out not coming on at all and i have checked all fuses relays and lightbulbs just driving down a dry road no water at all

1st issue. Both heated seats went out. Then passenger airbag sometimes goes off even with passenger sitting in chair. I can reset airbag with passenger heated seat button. This happens all the time and is very dangerous for passenger.key switch locks and i have to jiggle steering wheel to release.

Tried to have the car inspected and they told me it wouldn't pass inspection because of my airbag light on . They did a diagnostic and it said my passenger seat would need to be replaced or get the sensor for the part. Unfortunately the don't make the pieces for the car anymore . You have to go to a junk yard , but even they haven't had any any of the pieces.

1. The off light of passenger airbag is on 2. If take brake the steering wheel will be shake, changed newbrakes, it is same.

When you try to stop sometimes pulling up to a redlight or stop sign its like the brake pedal doesnt want to mash down and it takes everything to mash it then it slams you on your head.sometimes it stops fine but once out of every 10 times it keeps going.the car had 107399 miles on it when i bought it in september & the broker replaced the brakes he says.we found a reciept in the dash for having them bled so dont know if they were really replaced or not.

I was backing up my driveway, when the brake light came on and noticed the brake pedal almost to the floor.i looked under the hood and noticed the brake fluid reservoir almost empty. I happen to have a can of dot 3 brake fluid so i filled the reservoir and drove it around the block. Breaking was a little weak, then the brake lights came on again and the brake reservoir was almost empty. Had it towedto the dealer and they said there is a leak in the brake system and have to replace the entire brake system at a cost of $2,300 plus tax.

Can not turn on or off passenger side airbag using the button in above the radio and the light on the dashboard turns on every time i put something in the passenger seat.

This happen on 2 different date. The first that the master cylinder failed and had to be replaced at only 39,111 miles on vehicle on 8/14/2018. Then the thing that happen is the vehicle just stopped and would not go at all. Engine would run but would move until it cooled off then it did it again and the problem was the entire front breaking system had to be replaced because of faulty products used. Brake rotors, brake calipers, hoses and all fluids. The that did not work took another 2weeks for them redo them again because on going problems has been going with 2004-2009 saturn's. Which cost me around $1214.59.

On my 2006 saturn vue i had to replace the entire front breaking system. Plus the master cylinder to the breaking system with less than 44,000 miles on the vehicle. The problem that there no warning system on it at all. The vehicle just stop and would not go at all. It just stop dead. Luckily i was not on the interstate when this happen, because i was just going and it just stop complete and would not move at all.to me that is a safety issue to me.i found out that they know about these issue with the breaking system do not want to do anything about them either. That it involves vehicles from 2004 -2009. Because of them using cheaper products.

My 2006 saturn vue started experiencing vibration while braking and jerking of the steering wheel during deceleration, making it very difficult to control at high speeds.i was advised the rotors needed to be "shaved" by the dealership; however, i declined this offer since my vue had less than 25,000 miles on it.i ask that saturn replace the rotors under manufacturer's warranty.

The contact owns a 2006 saturn vue. While driving into a parking space, in reverse or traveling at very low speeds of less than 20 mph, the steering wheel would become extremely hard and tight. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where they were unable toduplicate the failure. No repairs were made to the vehicle and there were no recalls pertaining to the failure.the failure and current mileages were approximately 41,000. Updated 05/06/10. *ljupdated 06/18/10.

All of 2108 the ignition is very hard to start when you put the key in very hard to turn and when you get it started it sometimes shuts off while going to drive.

The dashboard lights flicker off and on and it's hard to steer i lose power steering.

The ignition was locked and key wouldn't go in, to get it to unstick i put key in as far as it would go and noticed i could start it without the key being fully inserted. This happened a few times before but this was the first time i realized i didn't need the key to be in the ignition to start nor does it need to be in the ignition to drive. I was able to reproduce problem in driveway. I made a video but think only photos can be uploaded

2006 vue rear tires were cupped, tires were replaced. Consumer experienced unusual steering conditions.the vehicle was taken to the dealer but they were unable to determine the cause of the problem.the vehicle was taken to and independent mechanic who determined that there was a problem with the steering.the vehicle was taken back to the dealer who stated they were going to swapped the rack from another vue and changed some sensors in the steering column.the dealer never made the repairs.

Problem with the ignition. It's very difficult to start up the car with the original car key.

Vehicle experienced burning smoke emissions and a burning odor from the steering wheel / steering column area where the wipers and signal light/highbeam headlight switches are connected.the smoke emissions and the burning odor appeared to be triggered by the turning signals or from activation of the headlights. For safety purposes, the vehicle was turned offand parked; however, the headlights continued to illuminate after the headlights were shut off.eventually, the car battery died; but the headlights continued to illuminate; headlights were finally extinguished with disconnection of battery cable.

1st issue. Both heated seats went out. Then passenger airbag sometimes goes off even with passenger sitting in chair. I can reset airbag with passenger heated seat button. This happens all the time and is very dangerous for passenger.key switch locks and i have to jiggle steering wheel to release.

Power steering rack malfunction. Causes vibration at high speeds and stiff turning

When making a turn (any direction) or just turning steering wheel the car will cut off and lock the steering wheel while in the middle of the turn. This happened on city streets or highway whilein motion.

Knuckle part of steering needs to be replaced.mechanic unable to get part due to recalls on 2009 vue. Worried my steering may go while i'm driving.also. Why isn't 2006 covered by recall ????? firstnoticed problem when turning.

When i try to start my vehicle i cannot turn the key in the ignition...i have to push up the gear shifter and then keep turning the steering wheel until the key can turn. I thought there was a recall for this but cannot find the informationupdated 11/06/2017

Was having to shake the steering wheel in order for the key to turn. Finally shaking it stopped working and had to take it to get repaired. The mechanic found the ignition casing was cracked and he also said i had to get a new key.

The truck is drivable withoutthe key being in the ignition, so once you start the truck you can take the ket out of the ignition and still be able to drive. Also the steering wheel locks for no apparent reason.

The contact owns a 2006 saturn vue. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, there was a sudden loss of power steering. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 112,000. The vin was not available.

The ignition switch stopped working with the factory key. The key would get jammed in the ignition and not turn on and jiggling it would turn ignition on. Good car but the ignition should not be messing up.

My key regularly falls out of the ignition while i'm driving.i have noticed that some of the same models that chevy manufactured have been recalled, but not the vue.

My rear driver side door won't close when it's cold and as of june 2013, won't open.the latch mechanism has seized.i can hear the door unlock and lock but nothing happens.i've had a toddler in the car when it won't close and a toddler and an infant when it won't open.my research online shows that this is a frequent problem.there really needs to be a recall.gm should have to pay the $250 to fix the door.they are putting my children in danger.

The contact owns a 2006 saturn vue. The contact stated that while parked, there was a clicking noise as the contact noticed that the driver side door lock had become stuck. The ignition switch will not turn with the factory key to start the ignition.the key has to be jiggled, and/or removed and reinserted several times for this to start the vehicle.

Able to take key out of the ignition while driving.bells go off opposite of what they should; when key is out after car is parked the alarm rings when door is opened.passenger airbag reads off always.passenger rear door will not close unless using extreme forse.

The rear driver side door will no longer open from the inside or outside. The door lock button for the door goes up and down when the doors or locked or unlocked and i can hear the mechanism in the door operating.

This complaint is in addition to the 284 however, this concerns unibody rust to the front k member causing safety issue and failing inspection. The car was under coated. According to my local mechanic and body shop, this is a known problem. We cannot drive the car. Repair estimates exceed $10k. What can nhtsa do to correct to correct this mfr defect. The car sits in my driveway with very little use.

Tamara recall. The back driver's side door stopped latching when closed. When driving, the door will randomly swing open. The latch to lock the door has to be manually tuned and then the door has to be held in the closed position and locked from the inside to latch.

When i got the vehicle the doors were all properly working and opening and closing just fine. One day my passenger door stopped opening i have 2 kids and in case of a emergency i will not be able to open the door for them this should be a recall due to the safety issues

For no reason the front passenger door will not open...power locks all work...just the inside and outside door handles don't open the door.

I brought my car to my mechanic who thought i needed motor mounts.it turns out that my whole frame is rusted. It cannot be fixed.i'm lucky the engine didn't fall out. Everything is else is working fine and now i can't even sell it.it seems that this is clearly a defect.

The passenger rear door latch doesn't always keep door shut. It is an intermittent problem. Little unnerving tamaking a turn and the door fly's open. Until i get it to the shop for repairs it is strapped from the inside and duct taped on the outside. I have seen several complaints and wondering if there will be a recall for this.

Nov. 2007 car serviced, 35311 miles seemed to be fine.noise began, serviced march 2008, recommended i needed new brakes but could not guarantee that would solve the problem. Noise continued, took it back to be serviced july 2008 and told that the struts and sway bars needed to be replaced along with the lift gate latch and that may not solve my problem.the vehicle is only driven on city streets and interstate highways.i have been in contact with saturn customer service and they are not working with me to my satisfaction.the vehicle is a 2006 saturn vue.i cannot find out if there have been other vue's with the same problem.

While drive southbound in the middle lane on i-95 during morning rush hour traffic. I noticed a slight shake in the steering for approximately 2 seconds before my vehicle started to fishtail towards the left and right with tractor trailers on both sides of me. I pushed in the clutch and the brake and placed my vehicle in neutral to slow my vehicle down while attempting to move over to the right shoulder of the road.

Stability bar / stabilizer bar broke on the passenger side. Upon going to the salvage yard we found in almost all the same vehicles were broke in the same area on the same passenger side.

2006 saturn vue.consumers write in regards to both front wheel bearings went out.the consumer stated the replacement bearings failed, too. Also, the rear bearings failed.

The contact owns a 2006 saturn vue. The contact stated that she heard a loud noise while driving into the driveway. The contact also stated that she inspected the vehicle and noticed that the stabilizer bar broke and was hanging down. The vehicle was towed to an authorized dealer, who confirmed the failure and decided to replace the stabilizer bar. Two years later, the failure occurred a second time. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, but offered no assistance. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was 39,410 and the current mileage was 124,756.

Sway bar, front right has terrible grinding and squeaking noise. Mostly when cold outside. Item needs to be replaced. Poor quality suspension.

The contact owns a 2006 saturn vue.2. Tl-contact owns a 2006 saturn vue (fwd). A. Contact has experienced 2 rear wheel brg (timken) failures (saturn part #15871427) since may 2008. First failure was may 07, 2008 (mileage 58,086) which was indicated by a light squeal noise emanating from the rear of car & increased hum of the powertrain and higher-than-normal speed on the tachometer (car spd 60 mph). Saturn of el cajon, ca. Replaced the defective rear wheel brg under warranty on may 07, 2008. B. Second failure was june 27, 2008 which was indicated by a barely discernible high-pitched hum noise emanating from the rear of car & increased hum of the powertrain and higher-than-normal speed on the tachometer (for the speed of the car at 60 mph). Saturn of el cajon, ca. Replaced the defective wheel brg under warranty on june 27, 2008. C. Contact stated that this is a potential safety hazard as there is little indication to the average driver that a brg failure is occurring. Furthermore, if the brg catastrophically disintegrates during highway speed driving and seizes, it could cause the vehicle driver to lose control of the vehicle. Oem is aware of the problem as oem has re-designed the suspension parts on the 2008 saturn vue, including providing a newer replacement design for all timken wheel brgs (replacing saturn part #15871427) with a more durable new bearing design (saturn part #19206600). D. Contact comment: the avg automobile mtbf (mean-time-between-failure) for an automotive wheel brg (per timken automobile customer service, tel# 866-984-6536) is approx. 100,000 miles. According to timken rep, each brg is tested and built to whatever oem tells them to do-the oem decides the longevity of brg when they write the specs.the failure mileage was 58,086.

Carrier bearingreplaced.

This has happened numerous times before, car turns off within 1 to 2 seconds after starting. There is a tsb written for problem but dealer still can't fix it.

The key will not turn to start the the car. You have to wiggle it and apply the right amount of torque to get it to turn and start the vehicle. I replaced the key from the dealership with the same negative results.

Key keep getting stuck in ignition switch and hard to take the key out the switch.

At any time, my saturn vue will start up, but then shut down going into its anti theft cycles.it can happen at any time, with no rhyme or reason.i will begin waiting over 10 minutes to try again, sometimes it will start on the first 10 minute try, other times it can take up to 90 minutes to start.i have taken it to many dealers/garages and no one can diagnose what is going on.

Key is sticking in ignition. Havw to giggle it to get it to turn and start up.

When i try to start my vehicle i cannot turn the key in the ignition...i have to push up the gear shifter and then keep turning the steering wheel until the key can turn. I thought there was a recall for this but cannot find the informationupdated 11/06/2017

Lately i've been having an issue with my ignition switch.when the switch is in the on position, the key can be removed while driving. When it's in the off position, and i try to start it up, it is very difficult.i have to wiggle the steering wheel and key to get it to turn over. Yesterday, it took me over 3 hours to get it started.i went to get a copy made, and that still didn't work. I've noticed that the saturn vue's in the years 2002 through 2004 were recalled for the same issue, what about 2006 saturn vue's?

I have automatic door locks. They lock after i shift out of park. I started to leave my yard the realized i forgot something in my home. Proceeded to park. Got the item and tried to put it in the drivers side back seat and the back door would not open either from out side nor the inside. So that is where it is to date.car in my yard sitting still.

I was sitting in my car listening to the radio waiting on an order (about an hour) on a city street. When my order was ready, i attempted to get out of the car. The doors and windows would not open. I tried to use my alarm pad to open the doors, i could hear the mechanism working but the lock wouldn't raise. I tried to lift the lock manually, it raised but wouldn't raise up all the way. I also tried to turn the car on, it wouldn't turn over. I was petrified and trapped in the car. After about 10 minutes while i contemplated my death had there been a fire, it opened. The car still wouldn't turn over. The radio still played and my charger also worked. In attempting to get the car jumped, it was completely silent, the alarm wouldn't work, then there was a slight electronic buzz and finally (after about a 1/2 hour) the battery started trying to work. It eventually started. I'm afraid to drive my car and am trying to find a dealership that'll look at the problem without saying, "if it's not happening now, there's nothing we can do but charge you for a diagnostic." i'm writing because this is an extreme safety hazard. I have 3 year olds that i transport. There should never be a reason we can't safely exit a parked car. I'm literally frightened to drive this car and it's my only means of transportation. I'm concerned about how this lock issue will affect my job and my pockets. I see that there are other issues posted for the 2006 saturn vue related to the locking mechanism. This needs to be recalled and repaired not at the customer's expense. I trusted saturn to provide me with a safe product. I paid every cent of what was asked for the truck. I did my part and i hope you do yours by making my truck safe again.

Stability bar / stabilizer bar broke on the passenger side. Upon going to the salvage yard we found in almost all the same vehicles were broke in the same area on the same passenger side.

I have a 2006 saturn vue with the same problem as the 2002 thru 2004 vue recall. I can also remove the key from the ignition while the vehicle is in neutral, drive and park while running. I read one other complaint from another 2006 owner and it was exactly how my problem started, the key would get stuck and i was unable to start the vehicle nor remove the key from the ignition. Therefore i had to call a locksmith to rectify this situation and as far as today the key can still be removed from the ignition while not in the proper position. Lets see if the 2006 can be included within this recall.

Driving to work and i went to pass another car, the throttle stuck down in the process making the engine rev and rpm tach up to over 8k,, shifting down was no help, neutral was no help, nor was braking. After reaching a speed of over 90mph for about 1 mile it let up on its own. Fortunately i had no other traffic or red lights.

Coming up over a hill the throttle stuck open and i tried shifting down, breaking, neutral, and even lifting up the pedal this time. Nothing worked. As i came over the knoll and started descending down the hill it released. Not before i was clocked at 72 in a 55 zone. I explained to the officer who was made aware of the issue, and even called the garage to check that we had scheduled an appt for diagnostics. (it was going in the next day on hubbys day off)

Driving from one work site to another, throttle stuck, not as bad as prior 2 times but nonetheless stuck. Tachometer reading was approx 6-7k. Breaking nor shifting down worked for me, nor did neutral. I was able to pull up on the pedal this time and it seemed to click back into position and release. As i did so, i was clocked for speeding. Clocked at 83 and slowly brought it back to 81, and come to stop with e-brake.called hubby and told him each of the times, he drove for awhile and nothing was felt.

Once again on my way to work, the throttle stuck in the down position and was not releasing until the tachometer was up above 8k. Car would not let me shift and slow, nor break. This time it took just under a mile to return to normal. Neither times were cruise control engaged. Car had been warmed up properly before leaving.

While passing another vehicle at around 50 mph, my wife's saturn vue (awd) began to accelerate on its own, and wouldn't stop.she floored the brakes hard enough to slow the vehicle down and pull over to the side of road.but the engine continue to run at a very high rpm, on it's own, until she shut it off.

It was raining on march 22nd and i was driving with my front wipers going and my passenger side wiper just stopped working!!!! i don't understand why it happened and how it could happen but i'm looking at an expensive fix.

The contact owns a 2006 saturn vue. While driving at approximately 55 mph, the air conditioning and heater blower caused the front window of the vehicle to fog and freeze on several occasions. The contact was unable to see out of the windshield. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing. The technician stated that the evaporator temperature sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 119,000.

Rear windshield wiper stopped working. Out of warranty (47,000 miles), so have just tried to get by without having it repaired.

Rear windshield wiper fails; had vehicle less than three years.
