While driving about 40 mph the gas pedal broke, causing the pedal to go down the floorboard. When consumer tried to pull the gas pedal up, he hit a mailbox and the air bags did not deploy. Manufacturer found no defect with the vehicle. The vehicle has not been repaired.

Locking mechanism not holding rod on back of car seat.
I tried four brands of car seats (graco, kolcraft, evenflo and century) and various models of each, and none will safely secure in the back seat of my car due to the design of saturn's rear seat belt system. The belts are forward of the crease rather than in the crease, and i can move the various car seats 4-6 inches side to side. I do not believe, based on my efforts and research, that there is a safe rear-facing infant seat for use in a saturn. I believe this is a serious design flaw in the saturn, and i am very concerned about transporting my newborn in such a loose car seat. I will have to place him in the left or right side, rather than the center, for a slightly more secure fit of the car seat. But this is only a moderate improvement and still allows for several inches of movement to either side. Is this a known problem with saturns? i also have a 1992 saturn sl1 with the same seat belt design.
The consumer was cleaning the interior of the vehicle, when all of a sudden when he sprayed the hand brake and the surrounding area, the automated saftety belt arm started to move backward and foward and then locked and retracted multiple times without any reason or warning.the consumer contacted the dealer and was told it was common since the vehicle was designed without a cup holder, if drinks were accidently spiiled into the hand brake opening, it would cause the seat belt module to malfunction. When the consumer arrived at the dealership, he was informed the vehicle came equipped with a temporary seat belt clip.
The fbi was my first choice. The car overheats from a cold start after i just filled up the coolant and drove the car for a few feet in 2 minutes from start. The coolant was already overflowing. I noticed something was eating the battery load when this happened another time making the car lose power when i checked the reading on thecars installed voltmeter. This after driving for about a mile. This extreme hot tempreture causes the coolant to boil and overflow even if i aid it with a rewired radiator fan on i have replaced the thermostat and the waterpump a couple of times. Please help captain america. The receipt from the attached file is the latest.this car is possessed.

Ac delco battery acid is leaking on the brake cable, causing brake failure.
Automatic shoulder belt doesn't work and the seat belt won't come across the consumer's chest. Also, there is a leak coming from the sun roof,there is a problem with the doors, and the battery die out.

I feel that saturn made a lemon and i bought it!i have brought this up to my sales person.he refused to take my phone calls.saturn refuses to give me the names of the "higher-ups" in which to bring my grievances too.i feel there are too many major repairs for only 29,000 miles that i have put on this car. No safety defect listed.

Dealer says that this system fails often, because the electoning controler is under the spot for the cup holder and is not waterproof.if this is failing and seat belts are not working on a lot of these cars, i wanted you to know that and make them fix the ones, like mine, that have failed.

My car's timing chain and assembly exploded killing the engine of the saturn sl1 i have owned for less than one year.the extended service plan was 12 months or 12,000 miles and i have driven about 15,000 miles.the car had about 65,000 miles when i bought it from saturn of lewisville.the car is currently at a saturn dealer called saturn of irving in texas.i feel that saturn has a measure of responsibility for this.i can not find all my receipts but do have some showing maintenance i have done and the emmissions test results from 12/29/99.i have been talking with saturn since 2/24/00.saturn sent a sample of the oil for testing on 2/25/00 with a promise of results within a week.i am still waiting!i have a written statement from a firestone on the initial condition of the car after the failure as they were the first to see the car.

Vehicle was brought in to dealer's service department for another problem. Dealer indicated that motor mount was cracked and in need of replacement. Vehicle has not been abused or involved in a collision, and all recommended scheduled maintenance has been performed according to schedule. This is a highly unusual set of circumstances for failure of a motor mount. Review of usenet internet newsgroups indicates this problem is widespread and well-known to dealers. Apparent cause is a design defect in the original design, now supplanted by a strengthened design in the replacement parts, with no admission of fault by the manufacturer for the deficient design in the original.

In jan. 1998 my timing chain broke and cracked my engine and valve cover. Prior to this i did take my car to the dealer who states timing chain replacement or new engine if timing chain breaks. Being that my saturn sl2 was a 1994 it was funny that so soon timing chain problems occurred. My timing chain did break, and i was unable to get it repaired intil 2001 by the local dealer with a used enginethat leaked oil every where i parked, my complaints yielded no results. Needless to say i was able to continue driving the car which began to overheat, cooling fan failed and in august 2004, the timing chain on the other used engine started to rattle and also broke, so today i am carless and don't know where to begin. Obviously there is a problem with these saturn timing chains. Is there an investigation ongoing?

Calif. Required the recall of 1994 saturns due to faulty catalytic converters. I called saturn and they use the date of purchase as a reason not to comply. This car was purchased in may 1995 with over 300 miles on it. Also, i noticed one time when i was having another problem torepair, saturn had replaced catalytic converter on the work form.i watched the repair and no one touched the catalytic converter. Saturn is not complying with calif. Recall completely by using purchase date instead of mfg. Date. Calif. Dept. Of air resources and auto repair ask me to notify ntsa. The recall was nov. 22,1999.this car has been marginal on smog readings. I would appreciate you checking this out. Thank you.

Parked vehicle in parking lot, with emergency brakes on. Left vehicle. Another customer arrived in store & said black saturn rolled down parking lot. It hit steel lamp above highway. Damaged bumper & headlight. Had reported problem to saturn prior to accident.

When i brake it brakes then lets go and then brakes again and keeps doing that until i come to a complete stop. Also when i am driving down the road my transmission i think jerks my whole car. And that also happens when i put thye car in reverse. I have talked to 4 other people who have a '9194 saturn sl2 and they have all the same problems. I also got to drive one of them and there car does everything mine does and both of our glove box latch has broke and does not latch.

Manual transmission - gear shift linkage to shift cable -- broken bushing at the bottom of the manual floor shifter where it attaches to the shift cable. The passive shoulder harness motor has failed to operate when the doors were either opened or closed intermitanly on both sides of the vehical for some time now. The dealer was unable to duplicate the problem but said the motor needed to be replaced and it was expensive so try to live with it until it failed completely. Now the drivers side shoulder belt does not move forward or back without it being pushed or pulled along the track manually. The the motor does run but the belt just doesn't move. I have contacted the manufactuer about any tsb's or silent recalls on this issue and am awaiting a reply at this time.

This vehicle has the automaticshoulder belt and it does not work. Whendoor is shut it is suppose to retract across the driver's shoulder, as it should it stay in the release position as if the door were opened. Dealer has been contacted.
The electronics for the motorized seatbelts are located in the center console directly beneath the drink holder.what i am sure happened is that condensation from the drink dripped down and entered the panel for the seatbelts rendering them inoperable.they are now stuck in the position that they were at the time and there is no manual overide to get them back to the fully back position.i feel like this is a great risk to myself and those who ride in my car.i went to a saturn dealership to ask them about the problem and they said that it happens all the time...that is all i needed to hear.they said that it would cost roughly 350 dollars to fix the problem which i feel like is a design flaw.i really think that this is not my fault and is the manufacturers responsability.

I own a 1994 saturn sl1 . This model of car employs "automatic" style seat belts, that are built into the door frame. When you open the door the seat belt is supposed to open by sliding up the track.when you get in the car and close the door, the seat belt is supposed to close by sliding back on the track.this is an automatic operation driven by a mechanical motor. The track or something in the mechanism has failed, and the seat belt is no longer functional what so ever.i feel this is without a doubt a safety related issue! how am i supposed to drive around a car without a working seat belt???saturn is refusing to repair the issue because the car is out of warranty, but according to the nhtsa "if a safety-related defect exists in a motor vehicle or item of motor vehicle equipment, the manufacturer must fix it at no cost to the owner."they want to charge me an exorbitant amount of money to fix the issue, and are refusing to cooperate with me. In the meantime i am driving around a car without a seat belt!!!what should i do to have this corrected? i have tried to contact saturn directly as well to no avail!

They told me that they couldnt and to come back with $35.00 to get it looked at and $200.00 to get it fixed. Then on top of that they were very rude to me . I asked them why do i have to pay so much money to get my seatbelt fixed so i am save in my saturn and they told that it was my problem and i shoud of got a longer warranty. Tthis was the third occurrence. When the first occurred the vehicle was taken to the saturn dealership in bowie maryland for check/repair, but they found no problem and released the car back to nornal driving as o k . This has been an intermittent problem at different driving speeds and is very scary to apply the brakes only to keep going. The brake pedal has acted normally on one occasion and has gone to the floor on other occasions, but the car continues to roll while pressure is still applied on all occasions. The system has been checked for leaks and proper fluid level, both o k .please adviseas to the best and proper procedure to followto help correct this as soon as possible especially since we have no warning when the brakes fail.i feel our lives and others may be savedby your advice and reccommendations .thank you ,jamesa. When i brake it brakes then lets go and then brakes again and keeps doing that until i come to a complete stop. Also when i am driving down the road my transmission i think jerks my whole car. And that also happens when i put thye car in reverse. I have talked to 4 other people who have a '9194 saturn sl2 and they have all the same problems. I also got to drive one of them and there car does everything mine does and both of our glove box latch has broke and does not latch.

I feel that saturn made a lemon and i bought it!i have brought this up to my sales person.he refused to take my phone calls.saturn refuses to give me the names of the "higher-ups" in which to bring my grievances too.i feel there are too many major repairs for only 29,000 miles that i have put on this car. No safety defect listed.
While driving engine check light will come off and on, and the oil is leaking out of the pistons.when the consumer takes off,smoke comes out from the vehicle.also, timing belt had to be replaced, andconsumeris having problems with the air conditioner motor.saturn agreed that there is a problem with the oil.
When i brake it brakes then lets go and then brakes again and keeps doing that until i come to a complete stop. Also when i am driving down the road my transmission i think jerks my whole car. And that also happens when i put thye car in reverse. I have talked to 4 other people who have a '9194 saturn sl2 and they have all the same problems. I also got to drive one of them and there car does everything mine does and both of our glove box latch has broke and does not latch.
The fbi was my first choice. The car overheats from a cold start after i just filled up the coolant and drove the car for a few feet in 2 minutes from start. The coolant was already overflowing. I noticed something was eating the battery load when this happened another time making the car lose power when i checked the reading on thecars installed voltmeter. This after driving for about a mile. This extreme hot tempreture causes the coolant to boil and overflow even if i aid it with a rewired radiator fan on i have replaced the thermostat and the waterpump a couple of times. Please help captain america. The receipt from the attached file is the latest.this car is possessed.

Hello, the car will sometimes stall when coming to a stop. It will at other times jerk and hesitate on acceleration. When cold, after starting, it will has a decrease in rpm as the gas pedal is pushed down, kinda like it bogs out. Worst of all after warming up the idle will surge to ~2500 rpm even with the accelerator out.this makes shifting somewhat problematic. If you have any advice for me, it would be much appreciated. While driving about 40 mph the gas pedal broke, causing the pedal to go down the floorboard. When consumer tried to pull the gas pedal up, he hit a mailbox and the air bags did not deploy. Manufacturer found no defect with the vehicle. The vehicle has not been repaired.
The gas pedal fell off and the driver could no longer accelerate or operate the vehicle safely.
Air bag light was not working, replaced 2 of the componenets under the dash one under the drivers side up in the corner and the other up behind the glove box. Cooling fan does not function properly must keep the ac on for the fan to work.a friend of mine has the same car and has the same problem.tried to fix by replacing the sensors had a mechanic try to trouble shoot, can't find a reason so it is not fixed just keep ac on always.car vibrates and can't find a reason still looking for problem, vibrates so much body parts on front are becoming misaligned! and it seems the auto-transmission shifts funny.check engine light comes and then stays on after driving apx. 1 mile. Cruise control does not work properly. My friend has all the same complaints.

Dealer advised sun roof tracks need to be replaced at a cost of almost $500 and the seat belt track needs to be replaced at a cost of over $500.
Automatic shoulder belt doesn't work and the seat belt won't come across the consumer's chest. Also, there is a leak coming from the sun roof,there is a problem with the doors, and the battery die out.
Seat belts move back and forth while driving and they won't open when the car is stopped. Also, sun roof and speedometer malfunctioned/ noisy engine due to timing chain failure. In addition, replaced egr valve and canister.
1. Normal driving, the vibration from normal road bumps or pot holes.2. Windshield cracks on the lower sides where extreme stress exhists,danger exhists of weakened roof support and glass injury if a collision occurs.3. Must buy new winshield because all the used vehicles in the area have similar problem. The design was used for only that year model and the winshield wraps around the side of the auto resulting in a weak design.the winshield price is higher than the average winshield.
