Takata recall:granddaughter had a collision 26 aug 17, when she applied the brakes they traveled all the way to the floorboard and the airbags failed to deploy. She was traveling west at 30mph on arbrook blvd to the bowen rd intersection when a car in front of her changed lanes.she braked to avoid the car but collided into the rear end of the vehicle in front of her. Brake apply sensor (bas) "and disablement of crash avoidance features such as.... And panic braking assist features."usaa auto claim # 014301086-7103-8, police report:2017 - 08380314, nhtsa # 14v252000.
My 2009 saturn aura keeps saying my seatbelt isn't buckled when it is.... I push it down but it keeps dinging and flashing. It doesn't do it all the time but a lot of the time. I would love to get this fixed since it isn't my fault it's happening.
I was driving north on the hwy and the other vehicle ran a stop sign and t-boned me on the driver side.my face and body smashed into the drivers door causing sever whiplash and other things not yet identified by my doctor.the drivers door and rear drivers side was smashed pushing up against the seats (front and back) none of the airbags deployed.i am still seeing doctors to figure out what is wrong with my shoulder, neck, and back.needless to say medical care is still needed.
Front seat passenger observed that the passenger air bag light on the dash was indicating off.it remains off when the car is running.both turn signal lights will not automatically turn off when the turn is completed.took it to the dealer where i bought the car and he said, without investigating, that the steering wheel would have to be taken off and the turn signal stalk replaced which he estimated would cost $600.00. I am retired from g.m. And can't afford that.is there a recall in the future for these defects.
Unknowni was driving my car and the airbag light popped on in my cluster
Takata recall inflatorsairbag light shows up on my dash screen while driving never goes away while the car in motion evenwhen on in park gear.as soon as the key isinserted to start the vehiclethereading shows up as long as the car is in motion. I do not know if this poses a risk but i am concern as too if the air bag might pop out while driving.thank you for viewing. I am taking this as a warning that it could happen while driving. Also washer fluid reservoir tank has a blockage. Fluiddoes not come up highenough to clean the windshield. This may or not be under a recall.concern about driving . Do not want the air bag to pop out.
"service airbags" message on dic used to come & go. It is now permanently on. Dtc b0081-71 is active. Passenger airbag lamp stays off whether someone is sitting in the passenger seat or not. Been told the pps pad in the seat foam needs replacing for over $1000. Seat hasn't been sat in more than 20 times since car was new.
The first incident was i were driving down the road and the reduce engine message came on. So later i drove and i got on a bridge and it shut completely down. Soi waited for a while then it started back up. So the next day it started back, so i took it to a chevrolet dealer and got a part put on. But the next day it was doing the same thing,so i took it back and they put a new part cause they thought the first one had a defect.so now its reading service esc and power steering and wont say anything.and the brake light comes on while i'm driving down the road and the bcm goes up.
I was driving on the pennsylvania turnpike and a newer toyota tundra made unsafe lane change and at high speeds came into my lane and made impact and pushed me into cement barrier.the truck then spun counter clockwise and collided with the front of my car.i suffered small neck fractures and severe spinal issues. The airbags never deployed and the doctor stated the front airbag not deploying created issue with the severity of spine injury.product liability of the saturn airbags needs to be addressed by gm.
The contact owns a 2009 saturn aura. When the vehicle was started, the air bag warning indicator illuminated. The contact turned off the vehicle and the warning indicator went off. After approximately five minutes of driving the vehicle, the air bags warning indicator illuminated again. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was determined that the vin was not included in the air bag recall. The contact stated that the air bag warning indicator flashed approximately six other times and then stopped. The manufacturer was not notified of the failures. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 118,557.
The contact owns a 2000 saturn aura. The contact stated that the passenger side air bag failed to activate while a passenger was occupying the seat. The dealer was contacted. The manufacturer had not been made aware of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 31000.

I was driving north on the hwy and the other person ran a stop sign and t-boned me on the driver side.my face and body smashed into the drivers door causing sever whiplash and some other things yet identified by an orthopedic surgeon. The drivers door and rear drivers door is smashed all the way to the seats, pushing on the seats and none of the airbags deployed. I am still seeing doctors to figure out what is wrong with my shoulder, neck and back.needless to say medical care is still needed.
The passenger airbag has been off for about 30 days now and i am afraid if i get into an accident it will be fatal. This is dangerous - can someone from gm address this issue.
While i was driving the power steering got hard without any notice and the service airbag just start to show without no car accident make, need to know how to deal with it do i have to take to the dealership
The contact owns a 2009 saturn aura. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 65 mph on ice, the vehicle slid and crashed into a median, spun across three lanes, and crashed into a hill. The air bags failed to deploy. A police report was not filed. The contact sustained unknown injuries that did not require medical attention. The vehicle was towed to the dealer and was informed that the frontal impact was not the initial impact; therefore, the air bags would not have deployed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 90,000.
Even when my seat belts are buckled my seatbelt/airbags are dinging both passenger and drivers side... This is very annoying and needs to be addressed asap. I haven't had any accidents but feel they should be fixed for safety purposes.
The contact owns a 2009 saturn aura. The contact stated that the passenger side service air bag indicator illuminated while the passenger seat was occupied. The dealer stated that the air bag sensor may have failed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vin was not available. The failure mileage was 115,000.
Air bag lights stay on even when seat belts are buckled.... Please look into this for me. I have been having this issue for a while now.
2009 saturn aura was hit both in the front and rear and it was a very severe accident; the vehicle was a total loss.no air bags deployed, causing the two passengers to be more injured than they would have been (if at all) had they gone off.the driver had a concussion and the passenger was severely bruised and broke both hands.
The passenger air bag seatsensor does notsense at all timesa 130 lb adult is sitting in the seatso it disables the passenger air bag. I paid the gm dealer to have the passenger seatcushion sensor replaced and now the problem has returned. The problem is intermittent and i must look over to see if the sensor detected a passenger before i proceed driving.i talked to the dealer but they do not want to cover the cost of the passenger seat air bag sensor . The last time i had it replaced at the gm dealer it cost me several hundred dollars.
There are 4 recalls out for my car, and i have never received any letters to get the work done. The summer of 2013 the car stalled on me and i had to get it towed and pay to replace a wiring harness. I'm not sure if this was due to a part that was recalled or not. If it is, i would like to know if i can get refunded for it. Also, right before winter 2013 my remote starter quit working; the engine light is on; i'm getting a false warning light for the tire pressure; i have heard a bing noise like the door was open because i was using the turn signal when driving; my left front door speaker comes on whenever it feels like it; the lights have blink on and off and my car almost wouldn't start. I think all of this might be an electrical problem. Please contact me and/or send me a letter about getting recalled parts replaced on my car. Thank you.[xxx][xxx][xxx]dubois, pa [xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6)
The contact owned a 2009 saturn aura. While driving 25 mph, the check engine warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle inadvertently veered to the right side of the road. In addition, the contact noticed smoke and flames coming from the front passenger side and rear of the vehicle. As a result, the contact sustained second degree burns on both arms and left leg that required medical attention. The fire department extinguished the fire. The contact was unaware of a police report. The vehicle was destroyed. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 160,000.
The rear lights fail without warning. It blows a fuse (10 amp #6 position) intermittently. Front lights are not affected, so driver has no idea when their back lights are out. I have nearly been rear-endedat high rates of speed. This car has been in a repair shop 10 times in the last year. Everyone agrees there's a serious safety problem, but i cannot afford to offer an open check for them to go through the entire electrical system. Therefore, i am only able to drive in the daylight hours.
The contact owns a 2009 saturn aura. While driving at any speed, the brake lights remained illuminated when the brake pedal was not depressed. In addition, the cruise control would not engage, the traction control warning light illuminated, and the remote starter would not work. The vehicle was repaired in september of 2014 per nhtsa campaign number: 14v252000 (electrical system, electronic stability control, exterior lighting, service brakes, hydraulic, vehicle speed control); however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vin was unknown. The failure mileage was approximately 165,000.
I was driving apx 40mph & my car had a slight vibration, or missing-feel, & suddenly the power steering locked up & steering wheel would not turn! i could not even budge it ,but luckily there were no cars around me & i managed to get to side of road. I turned my car off & got out & looked under hood. I saw nothing that looked unusual, but i am a woman & not mechanically minded. So i got back in my car & was going to call for help. I decided to start it to see what would happen & it started & everything was fine.it went back to normal! when all this happened it had flashed a msg across dash saying "esc power steering, service immediately" . Then, today i was turning onto a street & it did the exact same thing. Luckily again i did not hit the car on the street. I turned off & started again & it was ok again. I am now afraid to drive it anywhere! i have several electrical issues with this car, lights, locks, windows, things shorting out & a floating no control type feeling when driving at higher speeds, sort of like the wind is blowing me off the road. I found several recalls & contacted gm. They told me there were no recalls, then a few months later i get a recall notice on a part/recall i had called them about, so i do not trust what they say.please advise , as i am afraid to drive this car. I do not want to go to the dealership near me which is orr/texarkana,tx 75503 because none of these problems happened until after they did the so-call recall repair on my car! someone please help me. I need my car but do not want to crash! thank you
For two days when starting it made a weird noise but it sounded like the fan to the a/c might be going. Then my warning gauges started appearing warning of my air bag and oil. The next time i went to start the car the car would not start at all and the lights inside the car flashed and the car made a strange noise.
I bought this vehicle from i'm assuming the original owner i was informed there were a few quirks like the key won't come out of the ignition sometimes and the air conditioner sometimes works randomly.. I investigated the quirks and have found that when i put the car in park i'm not always able to remove the key it died somebody's eventually lunges forward as if it just went into gear and then the key is released the automatic door locks do not work and i am unable to determine whether the ac is due to a malfunction or if it's due to a electrical shortage however it also seems to when it goes out the front drivers headlight stops working i see that there are several recalls for this make and model and year how do i put the vin number in it states that there are no open recalls on this vehicle.
The contact owned a 2009 saturn aura. The contact stated that the steering wheel was extremely tight and the power steering failed several times without warning. In addition, the shift lever failed to function properly. When the vehicle was placed in park, it rolled and the contact had to quickly apply the emergency brake to stop the vehicle. While driving 30 mph, a fire erupted under the hood. The contact was able to pull the vehicle into a fuel station. The fire department extinguished the flames. A police report was not filed. The vehicle was destroyed and towed. The vehicle was not diagnosed by a dealer. The manufacturer was not notified of the failures. The failure mileage was 140,000.
Anti theft light is on, disabling my car. When the anti theft light comes on all other dash lights flicker and my needles go up and down. My message board states all pwoer steering, service esc, and low tire air messages. I have replaced my intermediate shaft, steering column, and my bcm & nothing is working. Ive taken my car to the chev dealership for all services and they do not want to work on it anymore because they cannot determine the issue. Single mom stuck without a car now, bc gm will not recall this car for this issue
Rear passenger right side electronic door lock intermittently does not lock/open.usage of manual lock/unlock latch on door is required.
I was driving and heard a weird noise.then the abs light came on, the electronic stability control traction control system came on (service esc and service traction).start the and driving down the street.
The security system randomly decides the car is being stolen and locks down the engine entirely until you unplug the battery. Happens about every other week and the dealership says they don't know why it would do that so they can't do anything about it. The auto start no longer works now as a result.
Driving the car anywhere my car would drive good then sometimes lights start flashing service esc, power steering, low fuel and the gauges starts going wild on the dashboard, and my car would start skipping if i don't pull over off the road right away. This is so dangerous to be on the highway people are driving fast and crazy and when your car slows down on its own it could cause a wreck. I have children and it's scares me because i don't never know when the car would act up. It seems to be a really bad issue with these cars i'm hearing would've been nice to know this before i bought the car. This is a major issue for a car to act this his out of nowhere. I've taken it to the people i bought my car from and it never acts when i take it to them put i've should them videos that i've taken of what it's goin, so they are not trying to look deeply for the problem. And i'm very disappointed this is the only vehicle i have to get me and my children around & the car is in good conditioning besides what's goin on with the electrical part.i don't know what all can be done about this but hopefully somebody can look into the problem with this type of car. Thank you
Engine power reduced, traction service esc, and also the brake lights are coming on when without me pressing the brakes.
While turning left through a busy intersection power steering was lost and i almost side swiped another vehicle .the recall that is active does not include this vin number , even though it had the same failure . I believe this should either be expanded or taken on by case .
While driving to orlando with my kids at 9:03 pm last night,i nearly got rear ended on i4 east.i was a lil puzzled to why someone would flying toward my car as if i was a target, until the driver of that vehicle pulled up aside of me, screaming out "turn on your lights."i immediately looked at my headlights and yelled my lights are on. Still a little confused, i pulled the car over, only to notice that my taillights weren't on.this morning the lights were on, now tonight they don't work i replaced the bulbs and, they don't work either. My car has had quite a few electrical problems, and a traction recall that had been repaired in 2010. I found out today that my car has been recalled for the same exact problem. I had to drive home tonight with my hazard lights on. What can i do?and how am i going to get around at night?
Takata recall its a bad thing that the power steering is electric so you can't monitor it yourself and when it's mess up in the middle of driving it's nothing you can do i was in motion on the highway switching lanes and the steering wheel got hard to turn out of no where so i pulled over and my power steering light was on i believe it has something to do with the power steering and electrical
Stopped at a drive-thru window.was in gear and under braking.two lights came on at dash: service esc and service traction.lights reset when vehicle is shut off and restarted.lights happen at random times during operation.when service lights occur, brake lights react opposite of normal operation.
My car has been nothing but problems since i purchased it. The moonroof has leaked and i have paid to have it repaired several times even though gm says they aren't to blame. The leaks in the moonroof are only what i can start to attribute the electrical problems to. I randomly loose radio controls, have buttons that don't work, cant use my key fobs after replacing them and replacing batteries only the "panic" button will work. What takes the cake is the reduced engine power light that came on yesterday and the service ecm light, nearly killing us on the highway. I get reduce engine power but with no warning to go from 68 to 35 in the high speed lane is asking for death. On top of it the more i've googled the issues it seems like this is an electrical problem gm is well aware of and never has done anything about from 2007-2009 auras, there are a lot of people who say they've spent thousands of dollars at the gm dealership trying to solve their problems t =o be given no real answers. I am scared now to drive my vehicle again as the lights went off and it "seems" to be fine. I am even more scared to bring it to a dealership where if the lights aren't on they cant diagnose it, although it sounds like from what i've read even with lights on diagnoses' are poor and not accurate. Enough people are describing the same exact things going on with their vehicles how is there no definitive fix and why are people being sent back out on the roads with faulty cars. Not only that if 3 years worth of cars are having electrical issues all the same how is there no recall????
Rear brake lights work intermittently. Most of the time they do not work but there are rare occasions that they do work. I for sure know that the third brake light doesn't work almost all the time.
When driving my car will briefly lose power. Gas becomes unresponsive. Once everything kicks back on the transmission will not shift, and dash displays service esc, traction, power steering, abs. After this happens car will not start after it's shut off. Sometimes it just flickers, causing brake lights to stay on, blinkers to cut in and out.
This vehicle has supposedly already been serviced under recall campaign number 14v252000.however, intermittently, the brake lights illuminate without the brake pedal being pushed; the brake lights don't illuminate when the pedal is pushed; difficulty engaging or disengaging the cruise control, and crash avoidance features such as traction control, electronic stability control, and panic braking assist features become disabled.the date given below for occurrence of the incident is just the most recent occurrence.this issuecan happen on a daily basis and has been returned to the dealer that performed the recall service but nothing is found to address the incident.
This has been an ongoing issue for this vehicle, originally started over a year ago but happened very rarely, now it is happening nearly every time the vehicle is driven.occasionally the brake lights will turn on and stay on.this disables the cruise control.while the lights stay on if the brake pedal is depressed the brake lights flash off and turn back on, remaining on.the electronic stability control light flashes or remains illuminated while the problem persists.randomly the issue will resolve itself while driving.turning off the vehicle and turning back on does not always fix the brake light issue.
I began having issues with my car constantly jerking as the car accelerated up to 40mph. I assumed i must have put bad gas in my car since i visited a gas station i normally do not frequent. I took the car in and they claimed it was bad gas but here we are a year later with the same issues and clearly it was not bad gas and i got ripped off for replacing my fuel pump and having to pay for a rental car. I have wasted over $2k trying to figure out what the issue is with my car and i still have all my receipts as proof. The car jerks when it is very cold out and very hot, my car stalled numerous of times since this issue has began. I have had tons of diagnostics done and no one can figure out why it is "misfiring". I had my throttle body cleaned, checked my fuel lines and injectors, had the spark plugs checked, and had the maf sensor replaced twice. The check engine light came on twice but threw false codes specifically the maf sensor. I have been researching online for a year and i noticed other saturn aura drivers have been experiencing the same issue with no help from gm or a solution. I keep the maintenance up on my car so i do believe there seems to be some sort of known failure with these cars. I had my transmission checked and flushed and was told its in good condition. So either this is some sort of electrical issue or a bad part that is not being recalled. I would like for recall to be made on this model since numerous of drivers have reported this issue.
The contact owns a 2009 saturn aura. While driving at an unknown speed, the brake lights illuminated. While the brake pedal was depressed, the brake lights failed to illuminate; however, once the brake pedal was released, the brake lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to moran buick gmc (14000 telegraph rd, taylor, mi 48180, (888) 350-0669) where it was determined that the vehicle was repaired per nhtsa campaign number: 14v252000 (service brakes, hydraulic, electrical system, exterior lighting, vehicle speed control, electronic stability control). The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the recall repair was completed. The approximate failure mileage was 85,000.
At 64,467 miles, while driving about 45 mph jerking of steering wheel occurred and power steering warning came on.went off again.keeps happening as tho it is shorting out while driving both at low speeds of 20 mph to 55 mph. Afraid to drive the vehicle now. Electrical steering motor is shorting out.have not yet had repaired.fear this car will cause serious harm, injury up to and possibly death if i continue to drive it.
The contact owns a 2009 saturn aura. The contact stated that the vehicle was previously repaired per nhtsa campaign number: 14v252000 (service brakes, hydraulic, electrical system, exterior lighting, vehicle speed control, electronic stability control). While driving 65 mph, the contact depressed the accelerator pedal and both exterior brake lights illuminated. The contact later depressed the brake pedal, but the brake lights failed to illuminate until the contact fully depressed the brake pedal. The failure recurred multiple times and at various speeds. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and stated that they could not assist and that the contact should pay for diagnostic testing out of pocket. The approximate failure mileage was 155,000.
Driving home from workboss behind me in his carflags me overtold me my brake lightstayed on except when i brakethey just blinked theni do not know how long this has been happening.
When driving the vehicle, the brake lights would come on randomly and would turn off when the brake pedal is pressed. They would operate in the opposite way that they should. This is extremely dangerous because vehicles behind you don't know when you are braking. This has been happening intermittently for months now.
Lost brake lights - electrical issue.
Vehicle continues to lose power driving on highway over 40 mph. Aaa contacted because the vehicle would not start. Aaa tested vehicle andnoted that battery was good, alternator was good. Vehicle struggles to start at ignition. Vehicle is part of recall but when i run vin at gm site it states my vehicle does not have an active recall. Esc and abs light are always turning on and engineattempt to shut off at high speeds on fwy. Again, i call the dealer and my vin is not part of active recall yet all safety and life threatening indications are there. Please advise.
Power steering gtoes out without warning , car will not accelerate when this happens mostly at highway speeds
The contact owns a 2009 saturn aura. While operating the vehicle, the low beam headlights would not operate and the power door locks would lock and unlock with and without the keys being in the ignition. In addition, the doors would not unlock from the inside, entrapping the occupants. The cause of the failure was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 67,000.
I own a 2009 saturn aura. Last year, it was recalled due to a fault with a break light malfunction, causing the break lights to remain illuminated at all times. I took my saturn in to my local gm technician to have the issue addressed at that time. Unfortunately, the issue has retuned to my vehicle within the last month, and my brake lights are constantly on while i'm driving the car, unless i actually use the break pedal, at which point, they go off. I am at odds with my local gm shop as to looking at this issue again (as it was a safety recall), and i'm hoping i can get some kind of authorization or voucher to perform this service again to take care of this already-recalled issue. Gm would like to charge me to perform a service diagnostic test, and cannot guarantee that the original terms of the recall would be honored. I don't feel it is right to spend money on a vehicle safety issue (under a recall, no less) considering that gm has already recalled my car once and this is the same problem i had in the past which prompted the original recall in the first place. It is dangerous to drive my car in its current condition, and i believe unfair for gm to take advantage of treating this repeat issue as a "new" issue. Any information you can provide would be greatly appreciated!
The contact owns a 2009 saturn aura. While accelerating from a stop, the powering steering warning indicator illuminated and the steering wheel seized. When the vehicle was turned off and restarted, the steering wheel worked normally. The failure occurred a total of three times. The contact was informed by an eyewitness that the brake lights remained illuminated while driving; however, while at a complete stop with the brake pedal depressed, the brake lights were not illuminated. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer stated that they were aware of the failure and that there were recalls for both of the failures; however, the vin was not included in nhtsa campaign numbers: 14v153000 (steering) and 14v252000 (electrical system) due to the extended mileage. The failure mileage was approximately 166,000. *lnupdated 8/21/18
Traction control button (triangle on dash) will display then gauges start flickering back and fourth like an electrical issue and then on display it says service esc and car will not shift into gears and you cannot steer or control vehicle properly with these issues going on. I entered my vin because there are recalls for these issues but it says my vin was not recalled. Once car is shut off it will reset itself i guess but it has happened several times now.
My problem started with a left turn blinker, it wouldn't turn on and stay fixed. I have to hold it down. And if i would turn right it would stay down but when turn completed it wont go back up. Then when i start the car i hear it working extra hard and i hear electrical sound in steering wheel when stationed ...sensors on tire pressure was changed on the right...a year ago...but all tire pressure sensors still doesn't show pressure correctly. When breaking the wheel shaking badly after alignment.
The steering locked up when i was driving on the highway. It was scary especially because i was changing lane and this has happened several time now i can't even drive my car
Cruise control dropped off unexpectedly and the brake lights remained on throughout the rest of the drive. The brake lights stay on when passed 4th gear and the saturn shifts unnaturally between 4th and 6th gears between 50 and 70mph.
I have a 2009 saturn aura and on the morning of 10/22 while driving my vehicle, i experienced a sudden loss of electric power steering (eps) exactly as described in gm recall id # 102639. Fortunately, i was able to pull off of the road steering manually without any problem and after i turned the car off and restarted the vehicle, the power steering began working again. After reading this recall notice, i'm very concerned that this could happen with my vehicle again and i might not be as lucky next time when it does.i contacted my local dealer and was told there was no recall listed for the power steering issue under my vin. I found this surprising as this occurred exactly as was described in the aforementioned recall notice that i read online.i then called gm customer assistance and they confirmed that my vehicle is not included in this recall at the moment and i would have to bring my car in to the dealer at my own expense. I'm very concerned because i believe this is a serious safety issue as was outlined in this recall notice.i also find it surprising that only certain vin numbers are included in the recall.why is my 2009 saturn aura not included in the recall but others are when i'm having the exact same problem with my power steering?
As i am driving the check engine light come on and off along with the ecs light.also while i'm driving the brake lights are on and i have to either tap the brake or drive while lightly pressing the brake to have the light to go off.i have had the brake light switch replaced twice and it still does not seem to work.
My car has been clicking off the electrical power steeringrandomly since about last december or earlier and when the steering turns off then my electric stability control turns off and the abs brakes turn off all at the same time i am aware there is a recall for many of the saturn auras out there but my vin doesn't show a recall for this particular car.if there is any information about this for my car in particular it would be of great help.
The brake lights are on all the time unless i ride my brake pedal. They wont come back on when i press the brake pedal till i almost lock up the brakes. Lots of electrical gremlins in this pos car.
The contact owns a 2009 saturn aura. While the vehicle was parked and while driving 40 mph, the electronic locks would lock and unlock without being engaged by the contact. The lock buttons also failed to work on the driver and passenger sides of the vehicle. The dealer had not been contacted. The manufacturer was contacted and stated that there were no recalls. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact was referred to nhtsa to file a complaint. The failure mileage was 140,000.
Takata recallthere is something wrong with the structure of the car there is rattle/vibration when going over 50 mph. Car has been maintenance twice in the past 2 years for electrical and break pad replacement and i'm still having a vibration and rattle sound while driving.
I own a 2009 saturn aura xr. My brake lights stay engaged while in motion but disengage when i stop. Tapping the brakes will turn the brake light off briefly while in motion but it will come back on within seconds. Rear drivers cannot determine when i'm stopping using the brake light as an indicator. My cruise control no longer works which i'm told is also tied to the brake lights. The esc warning light comes on frequently and will disengage. The only remedy i've found for this has been turning the car off on. I've sometimes had to do this 5 times within a 20 minute drive. The check engine light in the recent past would go off and on unwarranted but as of late just stays on.
The contact owns a 2009 saturn aura. On several occasions, while the vehicle was being driven, the rear brake lights illuminated independently when the brake pedal was not depressed. Additionally, the service traction control warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the vehicle was previously repaired per an unknown recall regarding the service brakes, hydraulic, electrical system, exterior lighting, vehicle speed control, electronic stability control. Freedom chevrolet buick gmc by ed morse (located at 8008 marvin d love fwy, dallas, tx 75237, (972) 330-4981) was contacted by phone and confirmed that the vehicle was no longer included in the recall. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 162,000.
Takata recallwhen starting the vehicle power steering light comes on and the wheel is hard to turn after restarting the car a few times the light went off and the wheel is back to normal. Now when driving the wheel shakes and makes noise.
The contact owns a 2009 saturn aura. While driving at approximately 55 mph, the brake lights illuminated independently. In addition, the cruise control ceased. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The vin was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 14v252000 (electrical system, electronic stability control, exterior lighting, service brakes, hydraulic, vehicle speed control). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 93,000.
The contact owns a 2009 saturn aura. While driving approximately 25 mph approaching a stop, the vehicle stalled and the check engine warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle restarted normally after a few minutes. The contact also stated that the failure occurred three other times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer (axel rod buick/gmc in parma, ohio) where it was diagnosed that the total control module failed and needed replacement. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 113,400.
(1.) i purchased 2009 saturn aura xr on 5/22/10 with 17,458 miles at chevrolet dealership.(2.) on 1/20/11 took vehicle to dealership for an issue of intermittent wiper failure during operation; the mileage on vehicle was documented at 46,563 miles.(3.) dealership performed diagnostic and found a body control module (bcm) internal failure. Dealership quoted repair costs of $514.10 for parts and labor. Dealership informed me that was not covered under the 100k mile powertrain warranty.dealership did state that the 36k mile or 36 month bumper to bumper warranty would have covered the repair but that the vehicle's 36k mile or 36 month warranty has expired due to the mileage on the vehicle. I elected not to have the vehicle repaired due to the nature of the repair at its current mileage. I did pay for the diagnostic fee of $117.82 on 1/20/11. (4.)i then contacted gm customer service regarding this issue. It is to my belief that this is a manufacturer?s defect but the manufacturer does not want to cover the cost of the defect; in addition to, the safety hazards it imposes while driving. Gm customer service offered me a 10% discount toward the total cost of the repair of $514.10 but no other incentives were offered by gm customer service. (5.)i would like an investigation into matter. Intermittent wiper failure is a safety hazard that could cause severe injury or even death while driving during inclement weather.i'm confident that this particular bcm is used on other gm models and that is a great hazard to the consumers.i believe that gm should either do a recall or repair on all vehicles that use the same bcm as the one in my 2009 saturn aura or at the least any other vehicle with bcm failure causing intermittent wiper failure during use should be repaired at the cost of the manufacturer.
While driving, the car suddenly reduced speed, engine light comes on stating to service traction.had the car repaired.it happened twice since, each time a day after picking up the car from the dealership.the last time, wednesday, october 28th, i was making a left turn, the car suddenly reduced speed, lights on.this is very dangerous. Contacted gm, no help at all!
I need my car but do not want to crash! thank you
Service esc, service traction and esc off dashboard lights has started illuminating intermittently, but have become a regular issue after turning on and driving the car. Saturn car manual says this could be safety hazard.
While driving the service esc & power steering warning came on. At this point the power steering stopped functioning and steering became very difficult especially at lower speeds. There has been a recall for this issue for this model, but my vin number is not showing up as one of the vehicles recalled even though it appears to have the problem. Gm obviously has more defective parts installed on additional vin's. This can be a very dangerous problem depending on when it occurs. The problem resets when you turn off the car and restart it, but it has now happened 4 times while driving since the initial occurrence.
The contact owns a 2009 saturn aura. While driving 25 mph, the steering wheel seized and the electronic stability control warning indicator displayed prior to the failure. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the steering column and esc needed replacement. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact researched the failure and found a recall online. The contact called berger chevrolet (2525 28th st se, grand rapids, mi 49512, (616) 949-5200) and was informed that the vin was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 14v153000 (steering). The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 106,000.
Thank you
The security system randomly decides the car is being stolen and locks down the engine entirely until you unplug the battery. Happens about every other week and the dealership says they don't know why it would do that so they can't do anything about it. The auto start no longer works now as a result.
While driving back from work today i got this message // power steering service esc// message after putting the vehicle in reverse while trying to turn.the steering became uncontrollable afterwards. After turning ignition off and back on the error message went away and things went back to normal.
When i was getting off the interstate i lose control of my power steering and the service esc power steering light came on and i was able to pull over into a gas station i turned the car off turned it back on and the power steering started working just fine again.
2009 saturn aura stationary shows messages "service traction, esc off, service esc" constantly on the gauge cluster.alongside the messages the abs light and the esc off icon is constantly on in the gauge cluster.when the vehicle was driven the message "pwr str" referring to power steering showed on the gauge cluster then disappears.upon researching these issues, i have found that nhtsa and gm have issued recalls and tsbs regarding these issues, however the vin for my vehicle does not show its under recall.i suspect this may be the case of vins not included in the recall system. Nhtsa campaign number: 14v153000, 14e044000, 14v153000, 14v252000, i have contacted gm and was told my vehicle is not covered under recall and must be taken to a dealer for diagnostics under case number 8-440138641. I will take it to the dealer for the vehicle to be diagnosed, however in the case the vehicle is involved in an accident due to the esc and power steering.i want nhtsa to have a record on file of these issues as a precautionary measure.
The contact owns a 2009 saturn aura. The contact stated that while driving 20 mph, the esc warning light illuminated on the instrument panel and the power steering failed. The contact mentioned that the vehicle became extremely difficult to maneuver. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The technician diagnosed that the internal power steering malfunctioned; however, no repairs were made to the vehicle. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 97,000. Updated 03/04/15*ljthe consumer stated the vehicle was repaired by the manufacturer at no cost to consumer.updated 6/15/2015
2009 saturn aura gm needs to update the recalls on the 09 aura. In the past 4 mos i have luckily survived 8 crashes, now, from total loss of power steering. No one @ gm/saturn will help. They say my vin# is not in the recall, but it is the exact same thing happening as is in the recall..complete loss of power steering. Triangle illuminates on dash & says esc service power steering...dealer could not diagnose problem, couldn't get a code. I subscribed to on star so when it happened i would be able to get a diagnostic code, & luckily their computer diagnosed the issue, & got the codes which are the exact problems in the recalls code c0545 power steering, & c0561 traction control module not functioning. They now tell me i need a complete steering column, which dorman products says my vin# is not in recall on steering shaft! general motors/saturn please update your recalls< there are 1000's with the same issues in the 09 auras, before one of us here becomes a statistic! i assume saturn is doing nothing because they have filed bankruptcy & gone out of business.i can not drive this car & be safe!!! someone please help!! i think we need an attorney!
I was making a left turn onto a one way.traffic was clear enough to enter.my car sputtered and the esc service light came on.then service traction light.then check engine light.i stepped off the gas then stepped back on it.the car then died.i was turning into 40 miles per hour traffic.i thought fast because there were 3 vehicles approaching quickly behind me.i hit the hazard lights.the car that was approaching slammed on brakes and blew at me in frustration.we sat in the middle of the street for several minutes.when i finally got the car to start again it jerked really hard when putting it into gear.i could not get the car to go past 25 miles per hour in 40 mph traffic. This all happened while my [xxx] year old son was in the back seat.i am afraid of my car! its been to the dealership twice.each time its giving them the same error code andthey are not sure whats going on with the vehicle.i have contacted gm customer service regarding the issue.i have a claim number and was told i would be contacted the next day. Its now two days later and no one from gm customer service has contacted me.i am now several hundred dollars in the hole because of this. Why is there no recall.i fear that my vehicle will get us in a terrible accident considering i take the highway to work daily.what am i to do?parts of this document have been redacted to protect personally identifiable information pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
The contact owns a 2009 saturn aura. While driving approximately 70 mph, the service esc and power steering failure messages suddenly illuminated and the vehicle's speed reduced to 50 mph. The steering wheel became very difficult to turn. The cause of the failure was not diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was180,000.
This morningleaving work after coming to a stop, when making a right turn to re-enter traffic halfway through the turn the power steering went completely out nearly causing me to hit an vehicle turning left onto the same street i was exiting. The power steering light illuminated on the dash for not nearly five seconds.
While driving strearing just stops almost getting into accident and also brakes failed and had to repalce calipers and rotors was in motion on highway
Stopped at a drive-thru window.was in gear and under braking.two lights came on at dash: service esc and service traction.lights reset when vehicle is shut off and restarted.lights happen at random times during operation.when service lights occur, brake lights react opposite of normal operation.
My [xxx] daughter was driving her car and the steering went out. Her car has had the electric stability control turn on and the vehicle shut off in the middle of driving.this car is a huge hazard. I have never been notified of the recalls issued back in 2012 and 2014 regarding these issues and now no one will address them or fix them as they are expired.
I have a 2009 saturn aura xr, i was driving to get on the freeway going about 40-45mph then the light can on saying "esc traction" "engine power reduce" the car started to lose power and the brakes felt really tight. I tried to accelerate but it wouldn't go no faster than 30mph. I exited the freeway parked the car turned if off and turned it back on. When i turned it back on the same problem "esc traction" "engine power reduce" and the check engine light was on, the car was on parked position and the car started to jolt forward. I had to wait for about 1-2 hours before the car was back to itself but this time it felt different driving it. The car felt like it was accelerating too quickly and i wasn't going no more than 15mph. This has happened 3 times in the past month. Is there a recall on this car because its unsafe to drive not knowing when the 'esc traction" "engine power reduce" lights will come on again.
This is a recurring incident that began in april 2013.it is always the same: runs rough like it is going to stall, engine light, service esc and traction control messages illuminate. Latest incident was june 19,2014. This vehicle has been to gm dealer at least 5 times for this problem, and expecting to go back to dealer this week.i do not know why and would like to know why i have not received a recall notice from gm about this ongoing problem. Is this double-talk from gm, because i fear that the safety of myself and my passengers are in jeopardy.i would appreciate an answer to this safety issue as soon as possible.thank you.
Takata recallwhen starting the vehicle power steering light comes on and the wheel is hard to turn after restarting the car a few times the light went off and the wheel is back to normal. Now when driving the wheel shakes and makes noise.
The brake lights constantly stay on. When i hit the brakes, they go off for 5 seconds and then come back on. The esc alert/traction control alert always turns on. Acceleration and transmission issues. Rpms shoot up and jerks into next gear. Sometimes these things are like this right from when i turn the car on, and sometimes they happen after i've been driving a little while. It has done this before and there was a recall on the car for it. I brought it in, and was fixed. About a year later it started again but i was told they didn't cover it to be fixed again.
While at highway speeds (55-75) power train surges, and cruise control will not engage. Also esc service indicator warning light turns on. Contacted dealer and gave them this information. Had my car serviced on 7/14/2014 with new spark plugs, fuel line cleaning and new brakes (front and back) and the esc indicator illuminating intermittently. Still have issues. They say that my vin indicates that i do not have a recall for my vehicle. But, my car is showing all the tell-tale signs for what is described in gm recall #13036 from 5/14/2014.
I was driving along the road and then the steering started to get real tight and then i received the message on the dash that there was a problem with the power steering and the esc needed service. I took the car to a gm dealership and was told that it would cost $1700.00 to fix the problem. I have looked at all of the otherrecalls and see that there was a recall for the same problem and tried to see if saturn/gm would fix the issue under the recalls and was notified that since i was out of warranty they could not do anything but contact the dealer that i talked to and see if they could help me with the cost of the repairs. It has now been about a week after i was told i should hear something back and still have not heard anything. I am still driving around without any power steering due to not being able to pay the repair cost. If there is this aprox. 65 people that have reported this problem on this site then there is most likely more that are having the same issue that have not reported and saturn/gm should do something about fixing the problem.
Talara recall ' i turned my car on and it kept killing forward it said power steering stability esc ,esc off, and then engine power reduced it kept accelerating by it self i thought it was the battery so i boaught a new one but not even when they switched it out would it stop doing that it kept julting
While driving my daughter to school, i made a left turn into the school parking lot at a low rate of speed and steering went out.power steering light illuminated and dash reads service esc. Very difficult to steer. Turned car off and went to crank again...steering restored, indicator went off.
While driving at 25 mph the power steering has gone out quite a few times, restarting the car turns the power steering back on.while driving any road, including 70mph highways, the car will jolt and the service esc alert will go off. It's actually getting worse.
While driving down a city street, the traction light indicator lit up and the dashboard flashed 'esc off' and 'traction off' and the steering wheel locked up. It was very difficult to steer my car into a parking lot and out of the heavy flow of traffic.
Without warning the steering and the esc failed, when you start the car the warnings flash that that are off, on the rare occasion that they turn on they turn off while the car is driving, the car loses all steering assistance. When they controls are active the steering wheel shakes uncontrollably
My brakes lights are illuminated, while i'm driving and not pressing the brake pedal. The brake lights go off when i press the brake pedal. The "service esc / service traction" is more-often-than-not illuminated on the instrument panel. When "service esc / service traction" is lit, the cruise control will not work.
This is the second time in the last year i lost use of my steering wheel. The first time, i was backing up and lost all control of my steering. I did not report it because there was not a warning light. Today, sept. 3,2015 i was driving through the parking lot of the school (may 2 to 5 mph) when i lost all control of the steering. I wasn't able to turn the wheel either way, it was completely locked up. I stopped the car and turned off the ignition. After a copy of minutes, i restarted the car and it was fine. It was very scary knowing i could not control the car. I noticed older vehicles had the same issue and they had a recall. I believe the 2009 aura should be investigated for the same recall.
I was driving and heard a weird noise.then the abs light came on, the electronic stability control traction control system came on (service esc and service traction).start the and driving down the street.
The contact owns a 2009 saturn aura. While driving 25 mph, the contact lost control of the steering and it required excessive force to maneuver. The contact turned into a vacant parking lot and turned off the vehicle. When the vehicle was restarted, the steering returned to normal and "service esc" appeared on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to george white chevrolet (1719 s high ave, ames, ia 50010, (515) 233-2211), but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 192,000.
The contact owns a 2009 saturn aura. While making a left turn at approximately 10 mph, the esc indicator illuminated and the steering wheel became very difficult to maneuver. Following the failure, the traction control indicator illuminated and the esc indicator dimmed. When the contact turned off and restarted the vehicle, it regained power steering and the warning indicators did not illuminate. The failure occurred four times. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 68,000.
The brake lights are on all the time unless i ride my brake pedal. They wont come back on when i press the brake pedal till i almost lock up the brakes. Lots of electrical gremlins in this pos car.
The power steering will go out and service esc light will come on. Sometimes the steering wheel will snatch when making a turn. The traction will disable and wont enable. When you turn the car off and back on the problem will go away.
The contact owns a 2009 saturn aura. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the esc service warning light illuminated and the cruise control had erroneously deactivated. In addition, while driving at various speeds the vehicle would suddenly began to jerk when shifting gears and the power steering had also malfunctioned causing the steering wheel to become very difficult to turn. The cause of the failures was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failures. The failure mileage was 167,000.
When i bought the car last year the dealership said they installed brand new brakes but they where still squeaking so i just thought it was because of the new brakes but a month later my brakes and rotors and calipers were completely gone it costed me $1200 to replace them but then 2 months later again it started doing the same thing my brakes wore down completely so i asked my uncle to look at them and change them for me so he did and now my brakes are doing the same thing they grind very loud and squeak and i didn't buy no cheap brakes either they where top performance brakes another problem i had what's my control module in my transmission went out as i was driving on the high way my speedometer wasn't working and my car moved slowly and made a loud noise so i replaced it and it's working for now then my doors won't unlock i'll hit the unlock button in the car and the key chain but my back door on the drivers side does not unlock and my driver door does the same occasionally i have to pull the lock to unlock it and i've had my tires balance rotated and all that more than once but for some reason my front tires wear down fast i've went through 2 sets of front tires but my back tires are still good
While driving, idling, and parked my electronic stability control engages and the car jerks/hesitates. It acts like it's slipping yet the weather is warm and sunny. The light will come on saying 'service traction' and esc off and service esc. I've taken it to many mechanics but they don not know what the issue is. I bought the car in 2013 and it's been doing it on and off ever since.
The contact owns a 2009 saturn aura. While driving approximately 45 mph, the electronic stability control and traction control warning indicators illuminated and the vehicle hesitated. The dealer diagnosed that the communications module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 95,000.
While driving, the brake lights will remain lit up even though the brakes are not being engaged. My electronic stability control (esc) light has been popping up alot lately, almost every time the car is being used, it has popped up on my dash while the car is parked and while the car is in motion. Twice in the last year, after just starting up the car, while still being in park the esc light will show up and i will not be able to put the car into gear, i have to shut off the the car and restart it.
Power steering gtoes out without warning , car will not accelerate when this happens mostly at highway speeds
As i pulled out of a parking lot to go left, my power steering went off. "esc" came up in the message window, then "power steering" showed up. I could hardly turn the wheel. I pulled into a driveway, then drove home (which was only a block away). The car was difficult to turn the whole time. I parked in my garage, then wanted to check the car a few minutes later. I pulled out again then was able to steer with no problem. The notifications were gone. I rented a car for safety. When i called a dealer to ask about the recall i saw online for gm and saturn, the receptionist told me it didn't affect my vehicle, per the vin. I find it hard to believe that, coincidentally, the recalled issue is happening to my vehicle but i can't have it repaired per the gm recall.
Brake lights illuminate without brake pedal being depressed, and do not illuminate when brake pedal is depressed while driving.service traction, service erc, and esc off warnings appear on dashboard.nhtsa campaign # 14v252000, gm recall # 13036 was not applied to my vin even though my manufacture date is 12/08, within the specifications of said recall.
When it's hot out and i turn a/c on the vehicle's reduced engine power pops up and my vehicle will only go 10 to 20 mph,if i'm on the freeway it drops down to that mph and is so not safe i've tried fixing code after code and still have the issue, everyone online can't figure it out either after taking it to multiple gm dealerships or having there own mechanic try to fix it.when the vehicle is in park for 10 min.it will kick on and do it also.
While driving on freeway power steering went out. Extremely difficult to control car. I found that after the car was turned off, the steering works again. This happens all of the time and is very scary. I don't want to drive with my children in the vehicle. Also steering wheel goes back and forth when i am in park and not touching it. Steering feels loose.
Car reads service ecm, reduced engine power, service traction. Throttle body has been replaced, but the previous issues occurred. Car seems to want to stall.upon reducing speed to slow down. Then when i try to accelerate, i cant accelerate when engine is still on. Car will idle up and down and reduce power. If car is in park for a few minutes, error messages stated above will also appear. Car reduced engine power on highway while at 60mph, hard to steer. Car will hesitate when slowing down to make turns at reduced speed.
Engine power reduced, traction service esc, and also the brake lights are coming on when without me pressing the brakes.
Intermittently esc power steering will pop up in display, power steering will quit working and almost impossible to turn, dealer states no recall for this problem
Every so often as the car is in motion if on the main roads or the freeway i get a warning regarding the 'traction control' and esc warning or something like that, and the break lights are light up when i'm not even pushing on the break pedals. And some times when the warning lights come on, i'll lose some speed and again would have to accelerate whenever i'm driving just to stay at the speed limit. It gets very annoying when it just keeps happening. Please help.
Vehicle is hard to steer while driving, then esc power steering off appear on the driverinformation center on dash.
The power steering in this vehicle randomly and without warning malfunctions. Initially, the problem occurred very sporadically, and only when the vehicle was first started up and still in park. Turning the vehicle off, and then back on remedied the issue. However, the vehicle will now lose power steering while driving, causing the vehicle to be very difficult to steer. So far, it has only happened at low speeds, typically when i begin driving after stopping at a stop sign, red light etc. When it occurs, it takes extreme effort to pull the car over to the shoulder. It's as if the steering wheel is locked. Once pulled over, restarting the vehicle resolves the issue, although sometimes it takes several restarts. This is a dangerous situation that now happens daily. I was told that my 2009 saturn aura was not a part of the 2014 recalls that addressed this issue. I did not own the vehicle in 2014, so i cannot verify if the previous owner received any recall notifications. Because this is a common complaint, i believe that a recall should be issued for all 2009 saturn auras.
The contact owns a 2009 saturn aura. While the vehicle was parked in a parking lot, the contact detected a fuel odor. The contact checked underneath the vehicle, but did not see a fuel leak. In addition, while driving approximately 40 mph, the engine warning indicator illuminated. The contact's husband, a mechanic, checked the code that read large evap leak. The vehicle was taken to auto zone (located on main st in colony, tx). The salesperson printed a list of eighteen different evap leaks that could be the cause of the failure. The contact took the vehicle to huffines chevrolet (located in lewisville, tx) where it was diagnosed that the cam valve gasket failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not diagnosed for the fuel failure. The dealer informed the contact that there was a leak in the fuel tank and they would had to drop the fuel tank to diagnose the failure. The vehicle was not repaired due to the diagnostic cost. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 125,000.
For two days when starting it made a weird noise but it sounded like the fan to the a/c might be going. Then my warning gauges started appearing warning of my air bag and oil. The next time i went to start the car the car would not start at all and the lights inside the car flashed and the car made a strange noise.
Driving at 60 mph, the vehicle lost forward momentum and the tachometer indicated 5000+ rpms. I was able to get to the shoulder and call for a tow truck. After extensive research on-line and with personal contacts which work for a gm dealer, it is most likely the 3-5-r wave plate which has rendered the vehicle hazardous to drive. After towing home and letting the vehicle sit it started fine but it has a new whining sound coming from the engine. Shifting from park to reverse results in mixed results. Some instances it will actually shift into reverse and propel the vehicle backwards. Shifting to drive i have the same mixed results, with no forward movement noted on most occasions. The harrowing experience of losing drive while at 60 mph is enough of a safety concern to warrant further exploration into a recall of the vehicles affected with the same transmission (6t70/6t75) which are installed in various models of gm products since 2007. The common repair varies from replacement of the defective wave plate to complete transmission replacement. Either option is very costly to the consumer and with a "known" defect that affects gm vehicles with as little as 40,000 miles on them.
The service traction light came on and the car began to shudder/lurch, the engine light came on but both went off when car turned off and restarted, taken to dealer who said might be fuel injection but didn't repair because couldn't get a read on computer. Dealer said to continue to drive until lights stayed on because they couldn't diagnose problem;two months later car in shop for almost 3 weeks - cracked heads per dealer and timing belt.2 weeks later service traction light back on and car is shuddering and lurching both while driving and idling.
Engine power reduced, traction service esc, and also the brake lights are coming on when without me pressing the brakes.
Vehicle intermittently stalls while traveling. Causing the inability to steer properly, always receive beeping alert with service esc in instrument panel.
The power steering will go out and service esc light will come on. Sometimes the steering wheel will snatch when making a turn. The traction will disable and wont enable. When you turn the car off and back on the problem will go away.
The contact owns a 2009 saturn aura. The contact stated that while driving 65 mph, the check engine light illuminated as the vehicle jerked. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the technician diagnosed that the timing chain needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The contact owns a 2009 saturn aura. The contact stated that while driving approximately 55 mph, the engine stalled with the illumination of the check engine warning light. The vehicle restarted independently and simultaneously with the intermittent release of all four automated door locks. The contact continued to drive with caution. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the issue and informed the contact that there was not a recall related to the defect. The approximate failure mileage was 61,000.
On 12/06/2013 my pregnant daughter, my 15 year old and 2 year old daughter were driving home in our 2009 saturn aura.as she began to turn into a busy highway, the engine began to shake and the vehicle suddenly stopped mid turn in the middle of a busy intersection/hwy.passer drivers pulled over and helped push my girls to safety.aaa was contacted and the vehicle was towed to my home.i contacted the dealer and i was informed that my car was no longer under warranty and that i would have to cover the costs of servicing the car.the vehicle continues to lose power and try to shut off at certain speeds. Abs and traction lights come off and on, and keys get stuck in the ignition. Unexpected shut off occurred again on 12/17/2013.
The contact owns a 2009 saturn aura. The contact stated while traveling 20 mph on a highway the vehicle failed to accelerate beyond 20 mph.the contact drove onto the emergency lane and restarted the vehicle; however, it did not accelerate over 20 mph.the vehicle resumed to its normal acceleration after it was restarted a third time. The failure occurred on three occasions. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. There was no diagnostic test performed. The failure and current mileage were 56,000.
The security system randomly decides the car is being stolen and locks down the engine entirely until you unplug the battery. Happens about every other week and the dealership says they don't know why it would do that so they can't do anything about it. The auto start no longer works now as a result.
Taka recall the head lights keep going out keep having to replace them nothing will be wrong with the bulbs but it constantly keeps going out
This has been an ongoing issue for this vehicle, originally started over a year ago but happened very rarely, now it is happening nearly every time the vehicle is driven.occasionally the brake lights will turn on and stay on.this disables the cruise control.while the lights stay on if the brake pedal is depressed the brake lights flash off and turn back on, remaining on.the electronic stability control light flashes or remains illuminated while the problem persists.randomly the issue will resolve itself while driving.turning off the vehicle and turning back on does not always fix the brake light issue.
Brake lights do not illuminate correctly. The lights may illuminate while brakes are not pressed and vehicle is in motion. There are times when the vehicle is stationary or brakes are pressed and the lights fail to illuminate.
While driving on city streets and highways the speed control will release after being set or won't set at all, the third brake light works intermittently, and the steering got jerky while turning corners.
Turn signals do not automatically turn off after making a turn. Took it to a dealer and they said that the steering wheel would have to be taken off and the turn signal stalk would have to be replaced.that would cost $600.00. Is a recall expected for this defect.
The right low beam light went out, tried to replace it and found out that this is impossible to replace by the owner. It requires removing the front bumper and special tools over $300 at the dealer to replace a headlamp. Meanwhile one light. Having headlights is a safety issue! also the driver side seat frame broke under normal use and can no longer be adjusted
I bought my 2009 saturn aura in september of 2015. Just recently in december of 2016, whenever i started the vehicle, the steering wheel would begin to vibrate followed by the power steering warning light illuminating. Upon driving the vehicle, the power steering goes completely out at anytime.
The contact owns a 2009 saturn aura. The contact stated that after starting the vehicle, the brake lights illuminated without the contact depressing the brake pedal. The contact had to slightly touch the pedal to turn off the brake lights. The failure recurred frequently. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, who replaced the front brakes but refused to inspect the brake lights. The failure was not corrected. The failure was not reported to the manufacturer. The failure mileage was 68,000. The current mileage was 69,800.
The contact owns a 2009 saturn aura. While driving 35 mph, the speed increased to 38 mph. While driving 40 mph, the speed increased to 43 mph. The failures occurred independently. The failure mileage was 115,000.
Brake lights work opposite of expected. That is: they are on when accelerating and go off when braking!! this is very dangerous. I have had it to gm dealership 3 times and they say it drove fine, and charged me a diagnostic fee. Granted traction control light only goes on sporadically to cause this mess which also causes cruise control to not work.just because saturn is no longer a car maker, there seems to be a cover-up by gm to ignore this problem. Yet the employees get $6,000. Bonus checks. To only have 212 of these complaints is the tip of the iceberg. The web blogs are loaded with these complaints and no quick fix of conductor jell to help corrosionwill fix the chip that has gone dangerously wrong. This is an accident waiting to happen in detroit rush hour commutes each day when brake lights are reversed! please help me. I think it is unethical to sell the "as is" to someone uninformed, so yet i keep driving it each day. Note that very often i get yelled at in car washes to get off my brake due to this reversal error in brake lighting. They will verify my problem even though gm will not.

The car has seemed to miss shifts with the engines revving, a delay, and then a hard upshift for several years on an intermittent basis. The dealer it was purchased from couldn't find anything wrong with it.on june 25 and 26, it acted up more then usual and the transmission finally failed to provide any forward momentum after about 20 feet and 5 mph even though the tachometer showed 5000rpm while pulling out into 55 mph traffic on a 2 lane country road about noon on the 26th. This was very upsetting and is certainly a safety issue. I was able to get it to go by using the manual shift feature for a bit and then it settled down again. I took it to my local mechanic that very day and was advised i would need to go to the gm dealer as it was a problem with the computer programming in the transmission. When i contacted the dealer they said they were unaware of any issues like this.i found that hard to believe as similar issues have occurred in coworkers gm carsand are also reported on the internet in saturn and gm forums. They kept the car for 2 days, initially saying there was no problem, and then said there might be an update after all to the transmission software and installed it. I do not feel comfortable with this and again find myself somewhat incredulous that gm would be unaware of a problem that my small town mechanic was.

Been having problems with the transmission since i bought the car new. It shifts in 1st and 2nd fine but going into 3rd or 5th gear it will shift to neutral and then shift hard into gear. Dealership could not replicate problem but am still having it. Then recently been having a strong smell of gas from the rear of the car at the rear doors. Looked underneath the car and saw that the tank had a wet spot from fuel leaking for a while. Have never over filled my car with gas. I did drop the tank and come to fine out the whole top of the tank is covered in gas. It has been leaking for a long while.
Fuel gas pump is leaking.no accident or injury to car, just started leaking when running.
My wife had her coat caught in the door after she exited and the car began to move away.when the car is in drive, the door cannot be opened from the outside.she lost her balance and fell, losing her balance, broke her wrist. She could not open the door because it was locked automatically..the car is a 2009 saturn aura.the manual says that automatic locking of doors is programmed and can't be changed.this is not safe!!she could have been thrown under the car.

I was on my way home from work, during rush hour, on march 22, 2016 and noticed that i was having difficulty accelerating past 40 mph.the vehicle felt as if it was not shifting gears. I thought about going directly to the dealer for service but could not accelerate past 25 mph at that point.i was able to make it home safely and had the car towed to the dealer the very next day. The dealer called to inform me that there were several issues with the most expensive being a transmission tear down with repair or replacement.this should be covered under service bulletin #14404. I am very disappointed with the number of recalls i have had on my vehicle. It has just been paid off and now i feel it is turning into a money pit and a death trap. I have received service bulletin #15356 but not #14404 which seems to apply to my issue.prior to this date, i had not experienced any known transmission issues.

Cracked wave plate requiring a rebuild of the transmission. Lost all gears except for 1st while driving on city street.gm refused to cover the repair completely even though they do for some 2009 saturn aurasthat have the exact same problem.
Experienced complete loss of reverse gear and forward gears are slipping, and or not engaging so that engine rpms are well above normal before lunging into higher gear and/or not shifting at all.difficult to reach speeds above 35 mph.problem first occurred two days prior and after sitting overnight, seemed to return to normal operation.after parking in angle parking spot with nose forward, the car would not reverse out of parking spot.i had assistance towing aura out of parking spot, and was able to drive forward at low speed to transmission shop.diagnosis was failure of upper and reverse gears required transmission rebuild with suspected failure of wave plate.obtained information on gm special coverage adjustment #14404 - transmission clutch wave plate (mar 3, 2015) which extended warranty to 10 yrs/120,000 mi. My 09 saturn aura is within 10 yr period having purchased in january 2010, and has approx 95k miles. I contacted gm customer assistance and was told that my saturn aura is not covered based on the fact that according to my vin, i have a mh8 6-spd transmission, and the warranty applies only to "other" 6-spd transmissions . . . Even though the transmission failure is for the exact same issue identified in the special coverage adjustment, or specifically that the 6 speed fwd automatic transmission may experience a cracked or fractured wave plate, resulting in a loss of 3rd, 5th, and reverse gears.
The contact owns a 2009 saturn aura. While driving 40 mph, the gear became stuck in second gear. The failure occurred sporadically. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was repaired under nhtsa campaign number: 12v460000 (power train); however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 60,500.
The contact owns a 2009 saturn aura. The contact stated that the shift lever failed to switch into the park position without warning. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the shift cable needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and stated that the vin was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 12v460000 (power train). The failure mileage was 63,470.
The car would not go into park as a result the car would roll forward or backward with the engine off.it was also difficult to restart as it would not engage in park.took it to a gm dealer, who said it was not a recall as the aura has a six speed transmission and only auras with a 4 speed transmission were covered when the shift link breaks.
The contact owns a 2009 saturn aura. The contact stated while sitting at a traffic light, she attempted to accelerate but the vehicle would not move. The vehicle was towed to the dealer for inspection where they stated the 3/5 way plate in the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 121,000. The vin was unavailable.
I was driving this morning with no problems then suddenly i was driving up a slight hill and i could tell my gears were changing at a abnormal rate then when i came to a complete stop at the stop light it seem fine then when i started going again it took about 5 secs for the car to move then it had a bump feeling when changing from 1st gear to second gear then i came to a complete stop in a parking lot i turned off my car then turned on my car and then my gear shift was able to move but my car was still in park when i had it in reverse and neutral.
The car does not go into reverse and does not seem to get out of third gear.the car will only get out of third gear after the engine revs and seem to shift hard.stalls on highway and city streets and at times cant go faster than 20-25 mph.i changed the transmission fluid the other day which seemed to help temporarily however it went back to the way its acting currently.please help.
Merging onto 65 mph highway when car would not accelerate past 45 mph. Engine was high revving and jerking as it was trying to change gears. Consistently debilitated until vehicle would no longer move.
The contact owns a 2009 saturn aura. The contact stated that when the vehicle was secured in park, it would roll away in either direction. The vehicle also had to be secured in neutral in order to start and the emergency brake had to be applied in to stop the vehicle from moving.the vehicle was not taken to dealer. The contact referenced nhtsa campaign id number 12v460000 (power train) however, the vin was not included and the vehicle was not repaired.the manufacturer was notified of the defect.the approximate failure mileage was 82,540.
The contact owns a 2009 saturn aura. The contact stated that while driving 40 mph, the transmission failed and would not switch to the next gear. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection and they stated that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 85,000.
The contact owns a 2009 saturn aura. While driving 65 mph, the power steering failed without warning. The contact had to use excessive force in order to get the vehicle off the highway. In addition, the gear shifter indicated the incorrect position. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 105,000.
Car gear shift cable has snapped causing the ability to put car in park and turn off car without it being in park and allowing the car to roll. This is a recall for 2009 saturn aura but not for one with my vin even though it is that problem is the exact thing that is recalled.
My car will not go into park.i was reading on it and it said that the shifter cable has been recalled before.we do not know if it was fixed, and we need to get it fixed before it causes an accident.the recall number that has been entered in 2012 is 12v460000.can you please tell us what we need to do.
When accelerating up to speed limit of 45 transmission shifted from third to fourth with a sharp thunk that shook the vehicle. I justhad dealer service transmission {flush}. It hesitates when shifting into fourth gear a fraction of a second at slightly elevated engine speed {200-300} rpm then engages and shifts into fifth and sixth normal every time i drive it. The harsh shift only occurred once.
Vehicle was traveling approximately 65-70 miles per hour on the highway when the tachometer went from 2300 rpm to 5000 rpm and would do this repeatedly from time to time a service code stating service esc would appear each time it occurred it would happen after driving for a number of hours 4 hours or more at the speeds stated previously, have taken it to a mechanic but was unable to get the car to repeat the malfunction no codes appeared and no charge for the trouble shooting.
The plastic casing on the shifter cable has broken and the sprag on the at transmission is bad.... Or so i have been told. It is in the driveway now with the abc, brake, traction control and esc lights lit as well as error codes p0449 & p2101. I have temp repaired the shifter cable and it will shift through the gears but will not go into gear. I was driving down i-635 when it stopped going into gear.
One evening i got in my car and it refused to start. After a few minutes of troubleshooting i tried starting in neutral which worked. Since that night the vehicle does not go into park. The gear position indicator does not match the current gear. The only way to park the car is to set the gear shift to park and set the parking brake. You can then take the key out. To start it again you have turn the key on and move the selector neutral. This is a hazard because you need to remember to set the parking brake when you turn the car off or it will roll away. Even if you set the car in park while the engine is running the car will reverse or roll away if you don't apply the brake or set the parking brake.
Yielding onto a highway, vehicle suddenly felt like it had no forward momentum when applying gas but corrected itself.next, traveling on a highway, the transmission felt like it was in neutral.once pulled over and restarted, there was no 3rd, 5th or reverse gear.vehicle had to be towed.massively expensive transmission rebuild.
Went to take daughter to school vehicle would not move in reverse or drive. Yesterday transmission bucked all day while driving. Looked on internet i'm not the only one with this problem on this same vehicle. I called the dealer they said no recall for this problem want me to pay $3000 or better to fix a problem that they know about. If gm knows about it why is there no recall on the faulty part? please help me and the other dissatisfied customers that got screwed on these vehicles and launch a recall for another flaw by gm. They are making money on their mistakes and that is wrong.
Car stopped, no accident involved.local mechanic inspected and told me that the transmission cable had broken.brought to courtesy motors in lafayette, la..i was informed that the 2009 model was not a part of the recall that involved other saturns that had been recalled through 2008.i purchased my 2009 in late 2008 and i would think that the same type part was used in the 2009.gmc will not repair the part at their cost.i think that the 2009 models should have been recalled as well as all other model years, for the safety of those buyers of 2009 models (the last year they were sold)..
The car would not start, would not even turn over. We though it was a starter problem but noticed when we shifted to neutral it would start right up. We also notice the shifting did not seem to lock into gear as it normally does. Then we noticed that if we put the car in park and were on even a slight hill the car would keep rolling. The doors normally unlock when the car is placed in park but that stopped happening. We checked to see if there was a recall for this problem and there was one issued in 2009 for the exact problem we were having. We took it to the nearest dealer who said our car wasn't included in the recall even though it stated in the recall the exact make, model and year.
With only 92500 miles use, vehicle 6 speed transmission started making a hard sound when shifting from 4th gear to 5th gear, especially when moving at highway speeds and accelerating. Dealer inspected and found that 35r piston and wave plate are defective. Recommending transmission overhaul to correct. This is the same defect noted in previous nhtsa actions for this vehicle although dealer claims vin number is not covered by current actions.
The contact owns a 2009 saturn aura. While driving at 65 mph, the vehicle lost power. In addition, the accelerator pedal was depressed. The vehicle failed to accelerate but increased in rpms. In addition, the contact stated that while attempting to reverse, the gear shifter was shifted into reverse but the vehicle failed to move backwards. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed that the output shaft in the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 79,997.
Car has had intermittent transmission issues for years, mainly stutters and slipping.at the dealership, we'd just get a shoulder shrug and were told it was not repeatable, despite our several visits for the same issue.well it acted up more than normal as my wife was driving around town (bucked and raced with no power), barely making it home.she refused to drive it the next day, so i did.it drove to work fine.while running errands on the way home (2 miles, no highway, 35 mph), it really hesitated from the green light and the engine would race as power to the wheels was lost (coasting slowly through the intersection).then suddenly it would engage and act normal until it shifted to the next gear....and repeat.so, i found a wide spot in the road with no traffic and attempted to turn around, but the turning radius was not tight enough for the available space and i stopped at the edge of the road and put it into reverse.it was as if i put it into neutral.the engine raced and before i realized what was happening and catch it, the front end of the car had fallen off the edge of the road into the ditch with the car's rear end 90 degrees to one lane of traffic.the front end was embedded into the far bank of the ditch, but it was retrievable by the towtruck.the garage said it was the 35r clutch plates and needed an entirely new/rebuilt transmission to the tune of $4900 installed!!!!
Need double check my car
35r waved plate broke and damaged transmission internal components.alsodamaged teams case. Indepenant shop suggested i take thi car to gm dealer as this is happening on other vehicles with 6 speed electronic controlled transmissions.gm dealer told me there was a service action against this transmission with a 6 cylinder engine, but my car has a 4 cylinder engine and gm could not offer any assistance.. Gm customer service representative suggested i contact nhtsa with my concern of defective transmission in vehicle. My car has 41883 miles at time of transmission replacement. When waved plate shattered, i was driving on i-94 west bound at 55 mph, causing the vehicle into lump mode as i braked for traffic. I was fortunate that i was not hit by the pick up truck behind me as he changed lanes to pass.. Car was repaired at gordon chevrolet in garden city, mi 48135. Customer number 2440373, invoice number 21573.
After existing the freeway i stopped at a light.once i tried to accelerate, the transmission started to slip.i was able to achieve 20-25mph before the engine would rev up to 6000-7000 rpm without accelerating significantly.once i got home, i found i could no longer go in reverse either.vehicle does not accelerate above 25mph normally or go in reverse.i took the car to a repair shop and they identified that the wave plate in the transmission was an issue.there is a 3-5-r wave plate fracture issue with gm automatic transmissions that this car seems to be affected by, but not covered by gm's service bulletin / extended warranty.gm obviously has not identified all vehicles that have this issue.i am at 6.5 years and 90,000 miles and have a broken transmission.
Had transmission flushed at 50,000 miles. Shortly after about 60,000 miles i started to feel a difference in the way it shifted, when i got 50 mph the power train seemed to shake.now it's worse than before, any thing over 50 and it shakes. This happens in final gears ( 5th & 6th ) seems to bounce backand forth & not locking into either one. This only happens when you are cruising, never on acceleration or deceleration and it's intermittent, comes and goes,
While driving my daughter to school, i made a left turn into the school parking lot at a low rate of speed and steering went out.power steering light illuminated and dash reads service esc. Very difficult to steer. Turned car off and went to crank again...steering restored, indicator went off.
For two days when starting it made a weird noise but it sounded like the fan to the a/c might be going. Then my warning gauges started appearing warning of my air bag and oil. The next time i went to start the car the car would not start at all and the lights inside the car flashed and the car made a strange noise.
Transmission completely failed after 3 months after warranty was up and have read that this is a wide spread issue that gm is not addressing.
The contact owns a 2009 saturn aura. While attempting to shift into the park position, the vehicle failed to shift. The contact called an unknown dealer who confirmed that the vin was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 12v460000 (power train). The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000. The vin was not available.
I bought 2009 saturn aura brand new and it only has 50,000 miles and now i have transmissionissues . Called the 800 number to saturn and they gave me a voucher so i could take it to a chevrolet dealer so i did the car checkedout and it came up with a code po601 trans electro control module they said i need a transmission valve body workand flush .april 2009 they came out with a tsbsept 7 2009 and in maythey came out with another tsb pip-4327a. In august of 2009 i had bought my saturn and i guess it had transmission problems if i would of known this ! i wouldn't of bought the saturn .i bought my first 1991 saturn sl2 and it gave me 200,000 miles. I think there should be a factory warranty on my saturn.
Major transmission repair required at 79,000 miles.35r 456 clutch damaged due to broken wave plate causing no reverse and limited operation. This repair $2338.29. Failed during driving on highway.
Tranmission went out and had to be replaced due to transmission clutch wave plate breakage.i experienced these conditions:1) in 3rd gear causing the vehicle to unexpectedly slow down in city driving, increasing the risk of a rear end collision because an oncoming driver would have no warning regarding the sudden deceleration of your vehicle by >=10 mph in a matter of seconds when you are actually accelerating in 3rd gear, the shift flare sets in, and you lose forward momentum.2) in 5th gear when the transmission down shifts while you attempt to legally pass another vehicle in highway traffic. Once in fifth gear and passing another vehicle, the shift flare in place of the shift to 6th will cause your vehicle to slow significantly with no warning to other drivers. This increases the possibility of a high-speed rear end collision because drivers following behind you in the passing lane are expecting you to pass and move right, but if the vehicle flare shifts on its way to 6th gear, likely will be unable to complete your pass.
Transmission (6t40) suddenly failed while driving. Stopped shifting above 2nd gear (25 mph). Once i pulled out of the highway and parked, i could not reverse.left me stranded.gm has a recall for similar 6t70 transmission, but refuses to covermine even though 6t40 has same problems as 6t70.
I was driving home on hwy 59 and my 2009 saturn aura xe jumped into reduce power mode and cut off on me ,,this happens from time to time since i bought the car, also the engine rpms go high emgine lights cut on and codes says sensors and throttle body along with air mass box has a leak and i have to cut the engine take off the battery too reset the computer, my abs sensors turn on and offand the exaust keeps having leaks in the muffler either behind the motor or under the car by the catalac converter ..

The consumer stated his vehicle should be included in the recall, as his vehicle was manufactured within the dates listed.

I have a 2009 saturn aura, this vehicle was not recalled previously for the transmission issue, but i find now the transmission is going out on my car. It is only 10 years old and was wondering if somehow it was missed or something. It is slipping in the transmission and i was told that i would have to have a new transmission. It is worse in reverse. My car is now parked as i do not want to get out somewhere and have the transmission quit completely. I have never had a transmission go out this quick in a vehicle. There was a previous recall and i was wondering if somehow my car was missed or if something happened. Thank you
Transmission clutch plate cracked per dealership. Car started shifting hard. Had the transmission failed on the expressway it could have caused an accident.
The contact owns a 2009 saturn aura. The contact stated that the transmission failed to shift into park. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for further inspection. The contact was not included in nhtsa campaign numbers: 09v073000 (power train) and 12v460000 (power train). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 86,057.
Transmission plates and gears blew out.this happened while driving and could have easily caused an accident had i been on a more crowded road and/or going a faster speed.there is a service bulletin from gm (#307164) regarding harsh shifting or no reverse which may be a broken clutch wave plate dated 3/1/2011action #10038284.what that bulletin fails to indicate is that the damaged/broken wave plate can cause the gear to "explode" taking out the other gear. Since a service bulletin was issued it is highly likely that this is a known problem.my car has 67k miles (7k out of warranty).clutch wave plate broken.this issue needs to be looked into.if gm knows this is a problem (which the bulletin indicates) then they should be responsible for any and all repairs for same.this is a major complaint by many on various forums.
Transmission shifter cable failure exactly as per gm recall for the 2007/2008 saturn aura with the 4 speed transmission. My gm dealer says my vehicle is not covered due to it being a 2009 with the 6 speed transmission although the fault is exactly the same.
The contact owns a 2009 saturn aura. The contact stated the vehicle stopped when he shifted it into park. Upon releasing his foot from the brake pedal, the vehicle continued to roll forward. In order to stop the vehicle, the contact applied the emergency brake. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the contact was informed that the shifter cable needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired since the parts were not available. The contact was also informed that the vehicle was not included in the recall associated with nhtsa campaign id number 09v073000 (power train:automatic transmission:lever and linkage:column shift). The failure and current mileages were 42,800.
When accelerating, the 6 speed automatic transmission does not engage and have almost been hit twice from behind when merging onto highway.

Saturn aura 2009 the third light sticks while driving.the seat belt light stays on with the belt engaged.
Even when my seat belts are buckled my seatbelt/airbags are dinging both passenger and drivers side... This is very annoying and needs to be addressed asap. I haven't had any accidents but feel they should be fixed for safety purposes.
Driver seat support bar broke by weld this is a safety hazard and should be a recall seat tips to the right while driving.
Driver seat abruptly fell down to the right side while driving.inspection of driver seat revealed that the right side of the seat frame broke off.this caused the seat to immediately incline to right side.
The driver's seat frame weld is broken on the front right .the seat is loose and slumps on the right side. The vehicle is unsafe to drive.
The back right weld on my drivers seat broke. I was driving one day and heard a loud pop and it sounded like my seat skipped groves in movement, but my seat is power. The back right weld snapped and i feel this is a manufacture problem.i weigh 206 lbs so it's not an issue of being too "heavy" and recent posts say it can cost up to 1000$ to fix. I find this should be a recall.
The contact owns a 2009 saturn aura. The contact stated that while driving at low speeds making a turn, the brakes malfunctioned making the vehicle very difficult to stop. The contact indicated that the failure would only occur while pressing the brakes and turning the steering wheel at the same time. In addition, the driver's side seat bracket had failed causing the seat to move while operating the vehicle. The seat bracket was repaired but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not notified. The vin was not available. The failure mileage was 50,000.
Driver seat welded bracket is broken.seat is not stable and in the event of a crash, i am certain that there will be injury.i weigh only 160lbs and while driving heard the snap of the bracket.
Cruise control dropped off unexpectedly and the brake lights remained on throughout the rest of the drive. The brake lights stay on when passed 4th gear and the saturn shifts unnaturally between 4th and 6th gears between 50 and 70mph.
While driving strearing just stops almost getting into accident and also brakes failed and had to repalce calipers and rotors was in motion on highway
Traction control and check engine light come on intermittently at or about the same time the engine or transmission seems to malfunction.
After having all 4 tires replaced, my brakes were immediately disappearing on the drive home until i no longer had brakes. After taking the car into a repair shot to have looked at it was determined that due to the saturn aura design, the brake hoses just barely reach where they are attached to each tire. When the tire was put on a lift to replace the tires the suspension dropped just a little bit which caused the brake hoses to stretch and in this case it caused a tear on the two back brake hoses. This is a huge flaw in the design of the 2009 saturn aura xr that could cause brake leaks just by having the car put on a lift. I have had to pay $375 for this repair that was due to the design of the brake hoses in this vehicle.
And panic braking assist features."usaa auto claim # 014301086-7103-8, police report:2017 - 08380314, nhtsa # 14v252000.
As i am driving the check engine light come on and off along with the ecs light.also while i'm driving the brake lights are on and i have to either tap the brake or drive while lightly pressing the brake to have the light to go off.i have had the brake light switch replaced twice and it still does not seem to work.
When the car is braking, the brake lights do not come on. Other times, the brake lights are consistently on without pressing the brake. I was just alerted to this by another driver and am unsure how long this issue has been present. I tested this twice and the brake lights are not properly working.
The contact owns a 2009 saturn aura. The contact stated that the brake light illuminated when the pedal was not applied and when applied the light would not illuminate. The failure continued to occur for one month. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was repaired. The contact referenced nhtsa campaign id number14v252000 (electrical system , electronic stability control , exterior lighting , service brakes, hydraulic , vehicle speed control), however the vin was not included in the recall.the manufacturer was notified of the defects. The approximate failure mileage was 54,000 .
Saturn aura 2009 the third light sticks while driving.the seat belt light stays on with the belt engaged.
When going down road break lights are on.when press break pedal break lights go off.this is similar to recall campaign 14v252000 but my vin is not listed in the recall.with this i am getting warning of service esc then service traction and my traction control light will stay on the dash.during these times the vehicle will shift erratically, up shifting and down shifting at incorrect times.this makes it difficult sometime to control the vehicle.the break light happens at any speed.the erratic shifting happens mostly when vehicle is going greater than 35 mph.
When i bought the car last year the dealership said they installed brand new brakes but they where still squeaking so i just thought it was because of the new brakes but a month later my brakes and rotors and calipers were completely gone it costed me $1200 to replace them but then 2 months later again it started doing the same thing my brakes wore down completely so i asked my uncle to look at them and change them for me so he did and now my brakes are doing the same thing they grind very loud and squeak and i didn't buy no cheap brakes either they where top performance brakes another problem i had what's my control module in my transmission went out as i was driving on the high way my speedometer wasn't working and my car moved slowly and made a loud noise so i replaced it and it's working for now then my doors won't unlock i'll hit the unlock button in the car and the key chain but my back door on the drivers side does not unlock and my driver door does the same occasionally i have to pull the lock to unlock it and i've had my tires balance rotated and all that more than once but for some reason my front tires wear down fast i've went through 2 sets of front tires but my back tires are still good
Driving home from workboss behind me in his carflags me overtold me my brake lightstayed on except when i brakethey just blinked theni do not know how long this has been happening.
I was driving and heard a weird noise.then the abs light came on, the electronic stability control traction control system came on (service esc and service traction).start the and driving down the street.
My son was pulled over by the local police for faulty brake lights.his brake lights work sometimes, stay on after he has released the brake pedal or don't come on at all.i read of similar problems with this same make and model of vehicle and wanted to report this issue.
When driving the vehicle, the brake lights would come on randomly and would turn off when the brake pedal is pressed. They would operate in the opposite way that they should. This is extremely dangerous because vehicles behind you don't know when you are braking. This has been happening intermittently for months now.
Rear brake lights work intermittently. Most of the time they do not work but there are rare occasions that they do work. I for sure know that the third brake light doesn't work almost all the time.
My mother was driving her vehicle when it suddenly accelerated to over 100 mph, she crashed her vehicle and died from the impact. Witnesses state she had her flashers on and she was observed trying to control the vehicle.
The contact owns a 2009 saturn aura. The contact stated that while driving 40 mph, the brake lights failed to operate normally as the esc traction warning light illuminated intermittently.
On 4/27/14, vehicle lost power steering and power brakes when driving vehicle in parking space at 10mph.driver applied two feet to brakes and vehicle would not stop. Steering too difficult to turn. Emergency brake applied as vehicle extremely difficult to steer or apply brakes to stop vehicle. Narrowly missed being hit by another vehicle.
Takata recallthere is something wrong with the structure of the car there is rattle/vibration when going over 50 mph. Car has been maintenance twice in the past 2 years for electrical and break pad replacement and i'm still having a vibration and rattle sound while driving.
The brake lights of my saturn aura would automatically self-activateexactly 5 seconds after the driver placed the vehicle into drive. The brake lights would stay active until the driver pressed the brake pedal, at which time the brake lights would actually deactivate. My son was driving the car on i-94 and was almost struck by a semi truck when my son pressed the brake pedal and the brake lights deactivated (turned off).i had the car serviced at gm and had to pay a total of $697.03 to get the car fixed even after i notified the service representative that this exact electrical failure was outlined for this exact car ingm recall #13036. The recall referenced the body control module and brake sensor, both of which were replacedcausing me to pay $697.03. This is my second notification to the nhtsa, i reported this on june 19, 2019 (nhtsa # 11221201) but i have received no response.as of today's date (september 3, 2019) gm has not reimbursed me.
Driving and my brake lights come on. I stop and they go off. As i'm driving i feel resistance like my brakes are being pushes
Lost brake lights - electrical issue.
The brake lights are on all the time unless i ride my brake pedal. They wont come back on when i press the brake pedal till i almost lock up the brakes. Lots of electrical gremlins in this pos car.
The contact owns a 2009 saturn aura. While driving 2 mph and attempting to park, the steering ability became extremely difficult and the service electronic stability control message appeared on the message center. The contact turned off and restarted the vehicle, and it operated normally. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 107,000.
I have been having a problem with my steering i have been losing it and my esc light comes on.before it would just come on when i started my car but now it's coming on while i'm driving i can be on the highway or rural roads it doesn't matter it comes on i need to really find out what's happening before me or someone gets hurts or even killed. The light just coming on has been about 6 monthsto a 1 yr. Now it's affecting me driving just started 2 days ago. I have taken it several times to the dealership to be looked at since all of this has been happening.
The contact owns a 2009 saturn aura. The contact stated that while making a turn at a low speed, the steering wheel seized and the power steering warning light illuminated continuously. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the electrical system needed to be serviced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 82,000.
When i am travelling at slow speeds the power steering often doesn't work. This has almost caused me to get into a few accidents. It is very dangerous. It seems that a recall was issued for my vehicle for this problem, but when i put in my vin it says that there are no recalls.
180,000 mi power steering warning light illuminated brieflyduring straight highway driving.consulted gm dealer, said fix would take a while due to parts shortage.
The car was exiting the offramp at 70 mph when the power steering went out wile trying to execute a left turn with no power steering. I had a conversation with saturn customer assistance center and the recall was turned into a # 15356 special coverage adjustment. I am on the gm corporate newsroom site where they state that it is a recall with my year vehicle. They also make a statement that by the v.p. Jeff boyer in a looks like a press release to nhtsa regarding the recall. Jeff boyer states" 'with these safety recalls and lifetime warranties, we are going after every car that might have this problem, and we are going to make it right,' said jeff boyer, vice president, gm global vehicle safety. 'we have recalled some of these vehicles before for the same issue and offered extended warranties on others, but we did not do enough.' is he lying for my son driving the vehicle claimed it was a real issue. This was written on 3-31-2014. This is a safety issue and gm should take care of it regardless of the mileage and year which was not stated in this news release. Be the driver when this occurs it is very hard to control.
Keep losing eps - electric power steering, while driving vehicle.while driving the vehicle, will lose the power steering part, and have to man-handle the wheel to maneuver the vehicle. There was a recall on it, of which i did not know about, did not receive notification.now that i take it in to be fixed, am told that there is a limit of 150,000 miles on this recall, i am at 195,000.if i had known about, and received official notification, would have taken it in earlier.the eps error can happen on vehicle start up, or while driving the car.http://gm.oemdtc.com/4286/15356-loss-of-electric-power-steering-assist-2007-2012-chevrolet-pontiac-saturn15356 ' loss of electric power steering assist ' 2007-2012 chevrolet pontiac saturn

The power steering stopped working and the car went to manual steering. Worked with gm customer service for direction on what to do. Vehicle at dealer for diagnosis and repair on 3/09/15. Problem identified as torque sensor failure. Gm will not provide any support for the dealer or myself to repair the car. Reason: vin is not in recall range. The problem i have is the same as early models. It appears that the manufacturer needs to look at extending the recall or at the least get some good parts into their cars.i also want to be sure this vin is documented as an actual failure.
The contact owns a 2009 saturn aura. The contact stated while driving 30 mph the power steering became difficult to turn. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed the power steering assist as the cause of failure and replaced the steering column.

2009 saturn aura.complete loss of power steering functionality.warning message on dashboard indicated loss of power steering.
Power steering stops working sometimes while driving on various roadways making steering almost impossible.have found that shutting it off and restarting resets it, but this is not always possible in many situations.the limited frequency of it makes it tough to duplicate for dealership and while this is a known problem and recall for other gm vehicles, we were told our car is not on the list.has happened for past two years.date and information below was the most recent incident.

My power steering then went out and they are not honoring recall on it
The steering wheel begins to move slightly back and forth on its own. Within a few seconds the dic displays "power steering" and the power steering assist is gone. It has caused me to crash numerous times when the power steering fails when making a turn.
While driving the power steering stopped functioning and steering became very difficult especially at lower speeds. For some reason my vin number is not showing up as one of the vehicles recalled even though it has the defective equipment installed in it. Thewhole design of an electronic motor instead of a hydraulic pump with fluid seems like an ineffective design no wonder it is failing and is not functioning properly. Gm refuses to acknowledge any fault in this and i don't understand why my vehicle is not one of the ones that is listed by its vin number
The power steering keeps going in and out while i am driving the car, i believe it is electric, when i make a turn sometimes it goes out then the turn becomes hard, then comes back in to make the turn easy

With engine on, steering wheel slowly oscillates.when driving, steering wheel will 'kick' left or right suddenly, and i have to hold wheel tightly to keep car in straight line.several times while turning, i lost power steering completely and ihad to use force to maintain control.

The power steering will go out and service esc light will come on. Sometimes the steering wheel will snatch when making a turn. The traction will disable and wont enable. When you turn the car off and back on the problem will go away.
I have a 2009 saturn aura xr, i was driving to get on the freeway going about 40-45mph then the light can on saying "esc traction" "engine power reduce" the car started to lose power and the brakes felt really tight.
Vibration of my steering wheel. My electric power steering is failing. The service esc and power steering failure messages suddenly illuminated on the dash board. The failure occurs when i try starting my car.the esc light illuminates and locks up. I tried turning it on and off multiple times and it still locks up.
The power steering stops working while driving.
Without warning the steering and the esc failed, when you start the car the warnings flash that that are off, on the rare occasion that they turn on they turn off while the car is driving, the car loses all steering assistance. When they controls are active the steering wheel shakes uncontrollably
The contact owned a 2009 saturn aura. The contact stated that the steering wheel was extremely tight and the power steering failed several times without warning. When turning left steering becomes stuck in the turning position and is almost like a jerking and not returning to a straight position. While making a left from a left turn signal on a city street.
Power steering gtoes out without warning , car will not accelerate when this happens mostly at highway speeds

This morningleaving work after coming to a stop, when making a right turn to re-enter traffic halfway through the turn the power steering went completely out nearly causing me to hit an vehicle turning left onto the same street i was exiting. The power steering light illuminated on the dash for not nearly five seconds.
Driving on the highway.message on the dashboard "power steering/service esc".power assist steering stopped functioning while driving, making it very difficult to steer.drove approximately 5 miles with no power steering assist.turned the car off.restarted the car approximately 3.5 hours later - message was no longer on the dashboard and power steering assist was functioning. This situation is similar to various complaints recorded on "carcomplaints.com/saturn/aura/steerig/steering.shtml".
The contact owns a 2009 saturn aura. The contact stated that while driving 50 mph, the power steering assist failed and the vehicle became difficult to steer. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who diagnosed the failure as a steering assist malfunction. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure recurred. The mechanic informed the contact that the vehicle was included in nhtsa campaign number: 14v252000 (service brakes, hydraulic, electrical system, exterior lighting, vehicle speed control, electronic stability control). The contact called greiner buick gmc (14555 civic dr, victorville, ca 92394) and was informed that the recall repair would not be serviced because of the high mileage of the vehicle. The contact contacted the manufacturer and was informed that due to the high mileage on the vehicle, the recall repair would not be performed. The failure mileage was 157,000.*dt
My hope is that gm will offer an extended warranty to subsidize me for some, if not all, of the cost to repair my vehicle - estimated by feldman chevrolet @ $1,350.00. Prior to setting up the service appointment with feldman chevrolet, i was informed by a gm representative (named casey) that if my vehicle issues, after being formerly diagnosed by gm dealer, were consistent with the problems covered under the extended warranty, my vehicle might very well be covered.i'm still awaiting a call back from casey after having called last week. My power steering problems began in april 2015 when i had approximately 135,000 miles on the vehicle. At that time the power steering would intermittently fail when starting the vehicle but i could always fix the problem by simply shutting off the engine and restarting. This problem would re-occur about once every other month over the next nine months and i was always able to immediately resolve the problem by turning the power off and restarting. It was an inconvenience but not significant enough to cause me to be alarmed or to consider a service call. In early february of this year my power steering completely failed and i can no longer fix the problem.in addition to the power steering warning light the esc warning light is constantly on.the advisor at the dealership told me the condition wouldn't worsen so i have continued using the car.regrettably, i received no notification from gm about this issue nor was i offered the extended warry coverage at any time in writing or otherwise.had i been made aware of the extended warranty, in august 2015 when it was offered, i would have qualified for the extended warranty coverage and would have had the necessary repairs done.
The contact owns a 2009 saturn aura. The contact stated that the steering wheel was tight and extremely difficult to turn. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer, who diagnosed that the steering column and the control module needed to be replaced. The contact was not included in nhtsa campaign id number: 14e044000 (steering) and 14v153000 (steering). The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was not available.
2009 saturn aura xe, approximately 124,400 miles. When i started the car, the dic power steering light was on. I was unable to turn the steering wheel at all. I got a ride home from work. The next day, a friend changed the power steering fuse. The indicator light went out and i was able to drive the car home. This didn't fix the problem, though. I had to have it towed to a repair shop when it went out for good. Code: c0545-steering wheel toggle sensor. They blamed the power steering issue on having the battery replaced. They did some resetting of codes and did a relearn. They said there were no recalls posted. My son picked up the car 3 days later, was able to drive 5 miles before the steering froze up again. He was strong enough to be able to turn the steering wheel and get the car back to the shop. They determined the problem was with the steering column and the entire thing had to be replaced, stating there were no serviceable parts. After another week, i picked up my car. This entire event cost me $1300+ in repairs and rental car fees. If gm had posted a recall sooner, they would have fixed it right the first time.now, saturn is saying my car isn't included in the latest recall for power steering assist and they refuse to reimburse me even though my car had a defective part and could have caused an accident had it gone out while i was driving on the interstate. They say the recall is vin specific and the part in my car wasn't defective. Maybe my car didn't have the previously identified part that failed, but mine still failed, which means the part was defective, too. Gm needs to acknowledge this failure and the potential to harm or kill people. If you own a saturn aura and the power steering assist has gone out, report it here, write to gm, post it on saturn's and gm's facebook pages, write to your local newspapers. Make some noise & make gm take responsibility.
When starting the vehicle power steering light comes on and the wheel is hard to turn after restarting the car a few times the light went off and the wheel is back to normal. Now when driving the wheel shakes and makes noise.
The steering has failed. A mechanic as well as research one online, indicate that the factory did recall the car to replace the original steering parts.this one has not yet been completed and gm is stating that the recall is jownvoid because of they required the car to be brought in for the recall prior to 10 years or 150,000. Is it at all possible that because this is a steering issue which is absolutely a safety concern, that the recall should be extended to all vehicles still operating and roadworthy?
My power steering keeps locking up and the light on the dash board comes on. It has happened 3 times now while driving on a city street, the highway while driving and when exiting it was hard to turn and the 3rd time when i started the car the light lit up on the dashboard. I do not have a photo but i did stop at an auto zone and have the code read. I haven't been in an accident yet, but am afraid it will happen.
Upon making a turn onto a busy street the power steering went out and i almost hit the curb. I felt pain in my back and wrist trying to steer the car.
The contact owns a 2009 saturn aura. While reversing at a low speed, the steering wheel seized. The contact stated that the power steering warning was displayed across the message board.
While driving approximately 15 mph, the vehicle power steering failed without warning.the vehicle was towed to a service station and was diagnosed that the torque sensor assembly failed.the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure.the failure mileage was approximately 114,000.
Suddenly without warning the power steering goes out while driving. On nhtsa.gov it says it was recalled for this reason, but when i called saturn and gave them my vin # they told me it was not recalled.
Steering sometimes pulls left or right, like your are in a rut. It can not be corrected back to center it in your lane. It jumps to the opposite pull. It can do this @ any speed including on the interstate. This causes you to drift back and forth in your lane fighting to center the car until the steering returns to normal. Sometimes it lasts only a minute, and goes away, other times it lasts several minutes and just when you think it's back to normal it starts pulling again. When it's been pulling a lot, the steering wheel will also shake while sitting still sometimes. The dealer checked it out and found nothing, but it went away for about 3 months. Now it's back again, and i will be returning to the dealer.
I was driving friday morning on my way to work on i75 freeway. As i was driving my dashboard light came on "power steering" & "service esc" my steering wheel was so hard to turn as i had to go around the highway curves. I slowly merged over to the slow lane. When i got to work i tried to park my saturn the wheel was so hard for me turn that i couldn't park it correctly. When i got off work my steering wheel was normal so i drove it home. The very next evening i was on the freeway again i696 and i was driving with the height traffic and once again my power steering went out again. I did my research and found that saturn auras has recalls on them about the power steering. I contacted them for help and they said they do have recalls for this problem just my vin not under the recall so they won't acknowledge my saturn under this recall. If i'm having the same exact problem why is my vehicle not considered? this is dangerous and i need my car fixed.
Eps power steering failure
Power steering went out while driving at 40mph
The contact stated while driving approximately 45 mph, the power steering would intermittently fail without warning. The vehicle would became increasingly difficult to control. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the power steering needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The power steering went out while i was driving, i had to pull off a city street and turn off my car. I waited about 4-5 minutes and started it again and it was working again. This is now the 3rd time for this event! now it's my passenger rear tire! the warning light is on, does not read pressure, had it checked 2 x's and service center says they don't know what it is!!!help help!!
As my daughter was leaving a costco parking lot the steering wheel locked as she was making a right turn causing her to stop immediately and some one ran right into my car. Since then the steering will locks abruptly while driving and ill have to turn the car off and when i turn it back on its not locked anymore. When this happens the steering column will begin to shake really bad! please research this i don't feel safe driving this car with two small children.

Thesec, and power steering light comes on with dinging noises.
Vehicle is hard to steer while driving, then esc power steering off appear on the driverinformation center on dash.
I need my car but do not want to crash! thank you
Power steering keeps shutting off and locking. It says esc on it. Turn car off it then is fixed for awhile.
When i was getting off the interstate i lose control of my power steering and the service esc power steering light came on and i was able to pull over into a gas station i turned the car off turned it back on and the power steering started working just fine again.
The electrical power steering assist will intermittently quit working without warning.on several occasions while turning it has stopped working causing the driver to veer into oncoming traffic because they could not steer the car back into their lane.even while driving down the highway at normal speeds the steering has just wuit causing the driver to stop and turn the car off to reset the electronics.this condition is the same issue they had on previous years of the same vehicle so they obviously did not fix the problem, but just put a band aide on the issue to get it to pass inspection. This car is a death trap unless you are used to driving a tank without power steering!
Power steering intermittently goes out while driving, only way to get it back is to restart the car. Happened 4 times within 30 minutes while driving on the highway.
The contact owns a 2009 saturn aura. While driving at approximately 40 mph, the steering wheel seized without warning. The vehicle was merged to the side of the road, where the steering wheel resumed normal operation after many attempts. The failure recurred intermittently. The failure mileage was 67,000.
While driving strearing just stops almost getting into accident and also brakes failed and had to repalce calipers and rotors was in motion on highway
Traction control and check engine light come on intermittently at or about the same time the engine or transmission seems to malfunction.
While operating vehicle electric power steering stops functioning and makes it very difficult to steer vehicle.problem happens with no warning get error message on dash but issue has already occured.this issue seems very common and is very dangerous.gm has a recall for this exact issue but does not apply to my vehicle.
Intermittently esc power steering will pop up in display, power steering will quit working and almost impossible to turn, dealer states no recall for this problem
While driving approximately 30 mph, the steering wheel seized and became difficult to maneuver. Power steering light comes on and the steering gets stiff while driving on a city street pulled over and turned the car off and turned it back on and it was ok again. But now i'm scared to drive the car.
The power steering failed and a warning message appeared on the dash message. I contacted gm since this model is known to have this problem, and they said my vin is not one that should have the issue and there are no repairs available for it. I cannot afford to replace everything on my own and i am scared of the car now. Please help!
Steering wheel shakes back and forth at idle.
The contact owns a 2009 saturn aura. While driving 45 mph, the power steering failed and caused the contact to lose control of the vehicle. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 84,700.
Power steering goes out intermitantly and without warning. Great effort required to maintain steering in straight line and turning almost impossible. Just missed hitting another vehicle while turning today but has happened a number of times in the last 3 months. There is a service bulletin from gm to repair for free but it expired last year but the vehicle and others like it are still on the road after this "expiration" with an unsafe defect
The contact owns a 2009 saturn aura. The contact stated that while driving approximately 55 mph, the steering wheel jerked and was difficult to turn. The electronic power steering maintenance message was displayed. The traction control warning indicator light was illuminated. The contact called dan hecht chevrolet buick 2400 s banker st, effingham, il 62401(866) 980-2619 however, vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated the failure was similar to nhtsa campaign number:14v153000 (steering).the manufacturer was contacted but, no further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was 125,300.
I lost power steering all the sudden as i was driving down the road so i had to pull over turn off engine waited 5 sconeds turn the engine back onthen the power steering started working again.
Looses power steering on and off.never know when there could be a serious accident.had it diagnosed and the mechanic said it sounds like a defective part. Very costly to repair.very dangerous.going to attempt to get the problem resolved at the chevy dealership in howell.have seen thousands of other auras on the recall list, but not this particular vin.vehicle came from canada.
Talara recall ' i turned my car on and it kept killing forward it said power steering stability esc ,esc off, and then engine power reduced it kept accelerating by it self i thought it was the battery so i boaught a new one but not even when they switched it out would it stop doing that it kept julting
While driving (twice) on a city street suddenly the service esc, power steering notification light comes on and i do not have electric power steering.i am able to turn with difficulty to shoulder of road.once i turn off the car and back on,lights go off and electric power steering is restored.
One day i was own my home powersteering locked up
While driving on freeway power steering went out. Extremely difficult to control car. I found that after the car was turned off, the steering works again. This happens all of the time and is very scary. I don't want to drive with my children in the vehicle. Also steering wheel goes back and forth when i am in park and not touching it. Steering feels loose.
I pulled into a driveway and when i came out the power steering wasn't working at all. I had no warning about this, it just happened. Now it is happening every day and several times a day. The steering wheel shakes while i'm idling and shakes and pulls when driving. I had no problem or any kind of warning that this was going to happen. I am 58 yrs old and my mother is 85 yrs old and we share the car. I can barely steer it when it goes out, there is no way my mom could turn the wheel.. It first happened when i was parked, when i came out and started the car it was not working at all. The next several times it has gone out it's usually while driving and after having to make some tight turns or u-turns. Today it went completelyout while i was driving slowly on the interstate.
At times the power steering is fine; and then for an unknown reason the warning light comes on the dash and the power steering does not operate.the esc light comes on too and off.
Power steering freezes for a few seconds and is back to normal again. The first incident was approximately in september 2014 and this has happened several times since then. Once a message appeared on the information screen 'power steering......', but went away by the time it could be completely read.
Takata recallwhen starting the vehicle power steering light comes on and the wheel is hard to turn after restarting the car a few times the light went off and the wheel is back to normal. Now when driving the wheel shakes and makes noise.
My vin does not show up under any recall even though my year and model shows it should come up. There have been three different occasions where the steering has gone out. On two occasions, even after turning the car off and back on it would still be out. It was out for 3 days one time. When i heard about the recall, my husband and i were excited because we thought it would finally be able to be fixed but gm states my car isn't listed. I don't understand. What am i supposed to do?
2/27/15 steering wheel vibration w/service esc power steering.loss of power steering.diagnosed as faulty torque sensor. It was fixed. 2/5/17 it is doing the same thing again. Recall for this but for some reason my car was also not included. This seems to be a very common problem. This is a big safety issues that the oem should cover for all vehicles in the time frame that it covers. This happened while stationery and while moving.
Vehicle power steering malfunction.steering wheel would not turn became stiff, message on display esc power steeringand power steering light came on.vehicle had to be towed to dealer, informed power steering column needs replaced, ($740.) repair cost.
On the steering column display the following message was displayed "power steering". This message was intermittent and went off before the car was brought to the dealership for service. On another occasion in 2014 the power steering stopped working making it hard to drive the car. Once the car was restarted the steering went back to normal and the message went away.
Driving home and power steering suddenly failed making the car very difficult to steer. Pulled over to the side of the road and shut the car off. Restarted the car a few minutes later and it worked fine. This has happened many times. It happens almost every time i drive this vehicle now. Gm has recalled this mode/year car for this very problem but my cars vin number is not on their list. Why can't they repair all of the cars with this problem, rather than just a select few.
Noticed a several months ago that it was hard to turn my steering wheel when i would back out of a driveway or parking lot and then in the last month, the steering column has started to creak every time i turn it, even while driving on the road, both city and highway. I don't believe that this is normal wear and tear because i've never had this problem with my old vehicle (1998 oldsmobile cutlass supreme). As far as i know, nothing has happened to create this problem with the steering wheel, but i started to notice that it was hard to turn on pavement a few months after i bought it and was driving it regularly (i didn't drive it a lot at first). I also noticed that if my vehicle was on gravel, it was easier to turn, but on pavement was harder to turn. I have been driving it a lot more lately, which is when i noticed it going from being hard to turn while backing out to a creaking noise being made while turning on the road.
Power steering intermittently quits on the vehicle when turning left.recently upon vehicle startup the car dinged and a message was displayed to have eps serviced - turning the wheel either direction was difficult.most of the time the steering functions normally.inquiry with dealer says no recall for steering issues on the vehicle at this time.

While driving at 25 mph the power steering has gone out quite a few times, restarting the car turns the power steering back on.while driving any road, including 70mph highways, the car will jolt and the service esc alert will go off. It's actually getting worse.
As i was driving to work on 11/12/2019 at 6pm est, on the freeway when my steering wheel began to shake and then became stiff and hard to steer. The dashboard started dinging and the service esc came across. I came up to the nearest exist and had a hard time trying to pull up into a parking area to see what was wrong with my car. I turned the car off waited a few minutes then proceeded to restart my car to see what will happen. The steering wheel was no longer stiff so i proceeded to get back on the freeway to head to work again. After no more than 10 minutes of driving my car did the exact same thing over again. So, i pulled up off of the freeway to try and see if i shut it off will it work again. This time it did not reset itself, so i decided to drive back home with the steering out and being hard to drive cause it was dark and late out and i did not want to chance being on the road somewhere by myself. September 2017 when i purchased the car until that day on november 12, 2018, my car had been running great and had no steering issues or concerns. When i spoke with a gmc dealer i was made aware that this make and model has many recalls including a recall with the same issues my car was having but that when looking up my vin # it does not show that my car was part of the recall to be fixed. My car is having the same exact issues as the exact same make and model of my car and i need some assistance. I have gotten parts fixed on my car to see if it will fix the issue but nothing has worked and it is now january 9, 2019 and i still have no power steering and i have to workas well as provide transportation for my four children.
While driving back from work today i got this message // power steering service esc// message after putting the vehicle in reverse while trying to turn.the steering became uncontrollable afterwards. After turning ignition off and back on the error message went away and things went back to normal.

I was making a right turn and the power steering failed and a warning message appeared on the dash message. I contacted gm since this model is known to have this problem, and they said my vin is not one that should have the issue and there are no repairs available for it. I cannot afford to replace everything on my own and i am scared of the car now. Please help!
While driving on the interstate my dash warning signals power steering failure and the power steering immediately ceased working.i had to manually steer the car to the shoulder.i was fortunate that there were no cars behind methere is a special extension of warranty but gm will not repair over 150,000 it should be a mandatory safety recall.very dangerous gm wants $1000 to fix"steering torque input sensorco545"
The contact owns a 2009 saturn aura. The contact stated that the warning indicator illuminated for the eps, and the steering wheel seized and was difficult to turn each time the failure occurred. The contact was unable to drive the vehicle due to the failure. The dealer (autonation buick gmc west sahara, 6400 west sahara avenue, las vegas, nv 89146, (702) 605-5808) was notified and was supposed to respond to the contact, but had not followed-up to provide an appointment to diagnose the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The manufacturer issued two eps recalls, but the vehicle was excluded. The manufacturer also issued 11 tsbs. The failure mileage was not available.
I was waiting at a stop sign. When cross-traffic cleared and i began my right turn, i noticed the power steering had failed. It took great effort to turn the wheel to complete the right turn.about 5 seconds later, a warning light (yellow triangle with an exclamation point) illuminated, and the area where the odometer reading normally displays, instead said "service eps" and then "power steering".i continued for no more than a quarter mile before stopping at a red light, turning off the motor, and re-starting the car. Power steering worked from that point and for the rest of my 20 mile commute.
The contact owns a 2009 saturn aura. While driving approximately 35 mph, the steering wheel seized and the power steering indicator illuminated. The failure occurred multiple times. The contact owns a 2009 saturn aura xr. When driving at approximate speeds of at least 50 mph, the vehicle would pull either left or right without warrant. When depressing the accelerator pedal and traveling over a bump in the road or uneven road conditions, the vehicle would pull to either side or veer off. The dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The manufacturer would not provide any further assistance. The vin was not available. The failure and current mileages were 11,000.
Was driving down tollway (i-294) in rosemont illinois and started to exit at balmoral when i had a total loss of steering.it took extreme effort to steer car up the ramp at 30 mph.it felt like the steering wheel was stuck and you could only turn it about 45 degrees max in either direction.i managed to drive it home on side roads for several miles while constantly fighting to maintain control.it seemed to lock-up every time i turned a corner.when turning left, you would wind up on the right lane after completing the turn.you could not make a tight turn with the vehicle!several cars had to swerve around me as i was turning!the dashboard indicated the following "power steering/service esc"when i got it in the garage at home, i shut engine off and then restarted.the problem seemed to go away.this is a very scary situation and i have read that gm recalled certain 2009 saturn auras for this problem.when i checked my vin, no recalls were seen.i feel that this is a very dangerous vehicle to operate.
The contact owns a 2009 saturn aura. While making a left or right turn at 10 mph, the steering wheel became difficult to maneuver and the power steering warning light illuminated.the failure recurred several times. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 130,000.
While driving down a city street, the traction light indicator lit up and the dashboard flashed 'esc off' and 'traction off' and the steering wheel locked up. It was very difficult to steer my car into a parking lot and out of the heavy flow of traffic.
My steering is super tight. I can't turn my wheel very easily. I have to use 2 full hands to make turns and i believe my power steering is effected. It seems very unsafe to me and makes me nervous like it may lock up. I've done some research and i see there are recalls on other years of this car for the exact same problem, yet my car is not falling under the recall.
The electronic steering assist will lose power so essentially will cause the power steering to go out at any given time. The current temporary remedy is to , turn off the key andwait. Restart the vehicle and the power steering will resume. I discovered this doing online research finding that this was a common recall for this vehicle in 2008 and 2009. But the date of manufacture for this vehicle. Was in 08/2008 making it a little over 1 month from being eligible for the recall. I contacted gm but was unable to talk to a live person and 2 gm dealers one of which previously sold the car, and got no results. This started out as a vibration and wobble in the steering wheel and has progressively gotten worse. The power steering so far has gone out upon starting the vehicle. My online research has named the recall on the same vehicle part malfunction as power steering electric assist.
My family has experienced sudden loss of power 4 times in the past 2 months on my 2009 saturn aura during different driving conditions. The vehicle is identified as having recall and vehicle matches sudden loss of power without warning. Turning vehicle off and restarting does reset steering eventually, but there is no warning when it will occur next. I have contacted gm 4 times and they continue to delay response, indicating that they cannot upload the vin information to determine if my vehicle is part of recall ofmay 6, 2014?gm refuses to fix problem and continues to delay any answers for over 1 month. I have been provided false information 3 times from gm executive office ( customer service) and my family continues to be forced to drive a vehicle that is defective and dangerous. All i ask gm is to do the right thing and fix my vehicle before something terrible happens. I have written notes of my specific problems and failure to act by gm.
My car pulls to the left despite having it aligned 3 times at 2 different shops.the power steering has failed completely 3 times within the last 3000 miles.failure was noted as power steering whine followed by a blown hose or seal and loss of all fluid and power steering assistance. There is a recall #14116 for my make model and year which matches the symptoms of my problemsbut when contacting the manufacturer i was informed my vin was not part of the recall.
Loss of power steering at intermittent times while driving. Not dependent on weather conditions - i.e. Has occurred during cold and warm weather conditions, and still have intermittent problem now in warm weather.steering becomes difficult, as power steering cuts out, and requires greater effort to control vehicle under manual steering condition, creating a safety hazard.power steering warning light is displayed on dash once power steering is lost.checked with dealer and gm site, no recall listed at this time, but should be.
I was driven it and stop complity in the midle of the city street some people help me to pushed on the side, aaa toked to gmc on main street and tell me that it is the transmission and cost me $3,000.00 to fixt it and wound not fixt recalls, i have been with out a car for a month, i would appreciate if you help me out to have some one to fixt the recall or some thing, please sir help me out [xxx].information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

I have my daughter my 2009 saturn aura for her 16th birthday. She began driving on nov. 24th after completing driver's education course. She and her brother were driving to school today and the power steering went out. Luckily no one was hurt. When she arrived at school some boys came over and helped her. My daughter has been in the hospital, has an upcoming surgery, and now her car is a safety hazard. I searched my vin to find a recall i was not aware of for the back break light. This is getting fixed this week! there is a recall on my car's electrical steering systemrecall:14v153000recall date03/31/2014componentsteering:electric power assist systemrecall: 14e0440007/21/2014component: steeringmy vin is not included in these recalls or many others it should be!i am a single mother of two children with no child support and mounting medical bills for my daughter. I cannot afford to fix something gm has recalled! my daughter doesn't deserve this! no one does! i love gm vehicles. I got a 2010 denali used so my daughter could have a car and help out the family. Now she cannot drive it at risk of hurting herself and others!!! and after seeing all there recalls i may get rid of all of these cars, once and if they can get fixed.please email me at [xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
My power steering went out and indicated i no longer had (esp). I looked this up today to find that there is a recall on the 2009 saturn aura for a part that has to do with this. Although i am unsure as to how to deal with this recall issue.
Failure at approximately 125000 miles. The power steering intermittently fails. Driving at varying speeds the esc fail light comes on and gives a warning message of power steering failure. It requires the car to be shutdown and restarted.
Steering wheel is shaking while sitting at a stop and also while driving. Upon start up of vehicle, power steering, service esc and traction control lights illuminate. After turning the vehicle off and then on again, lights go away, but steering wheel still shakes. Vehicle is sometimes hard to turn. Steering wheel does not shake if i turn it to the right while at a stand still. Vehicles vin is not included in the recent recall with this problem. This is a serious problem that needs to be addressed after reading all of the other complaints on the same problem. I have to drive 2 small children around daily as part of my job, and this is not safe and putting us at risk of an accident. Please look into this a demand a recall.
Traveling down the road at highway speed the power steering went out and we received a 'service power steering' message.it was discovered that the torque sensor in the steering column needed to be replaced.this was a recall on several 2009 saturn auras outside of my vin number?!?why wasn't my vin included!?!?!
Loss of power steering. Power steering would go out as you were driving causing problem to steer.i looked at recalls for gm saturn's it showed 7 recalls for saturn 3 of which are for steering in 2008 - 2009 saturn. Gm said that my vin number does not fall under the recall, but is the same part that is falling in the recall. It's the same year and same model that is failing.
The contact owns a 2009 saturn aura. The contact stated that the steering wheel became extremely hard to maneuver when turning the vehicle. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
Power steering intermittently goesout. Works after restarting vehicle. Had scheduled appointment on dec 27th to fix power steering issue. Was under recall issued warranty. Missed appointment after transmission went out. Was diagnosed bu mechanic who fixed transmission. Took it to gm dealership. Diagnosed it with same problem.refused to honor warranty because it expiredon the 31st. And was diagnosed a week later. Even though had said issue before it expired and confirmation emails to prove it.

While driving my daughter to school, i made a left turn into the school parking lot at a low rate of speed and steering went out.power steering light illuminated and dash reads service esc. Very difficult to steer. Turned car off and went to crank again...steering restored, indicator went off.
As i was backing out of my driveway and turning left, i lost complete use of my car. The power steering light came on and i had no control. After trying to turn the car straight for several minutes, i finally had to turn the car off and restart it before i regained use of the power steering. I see there was recall for this type of problem in april 2014, however, it does not include my car.
The contact owns a 2009 saturn aura. While driving at approximately 20 mph, the power steering seized. The contact was made aware of nhtsa campaign number: 14v153000 (steering); however, the vin was not included. The vin was not available. The failure mileage was 125,000.
Multiple and frequent total loss of power steering while driving. No one has been hurt. Seen there is a recall on this same issue, called the dealership and gave them the vin, they responded with the car has no recall. I called gm at (800)-533-6000 and was told the same. I find this to be ironic that cars made the same year as mine have a recall for the same problem i'm experiencing but mine vin does not fall within the magic numbers of the recall. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, [xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6)

Power steering failure at startup and low speed.
While driving on city streets and highways the speed control will release after being set or won't set at all, the third brake light works intermittently, and the steering got jerky while turning corners.
Vehicle steering locked up while in motion on a city street. After parking and restarting again the steering functioned, came to find out that this model has an electric steering system and does not permit steering fluid to be added.
I had driven my 2009 saturn aura in the morning with no problem and parked it in a parking lot at my workplace.when i was about to go home i started my car and the power steering light came on and i checked the steering and i had no power steering. I turned my car off and waited a couple of minutes and then restarted my car. The power steering message had gone away and the power steering worked.i drove down the road a turned my car off to do an errand. When i came back and restarted my car the power steering message came back and i didn't have power steering again because the steering wheel was stiff. I turned the car off again and restarted it a few minutes later.the power steering was working again. I started to drive home and about 7 to 10 minutes later the power steering didn't work again so i pulled over on the side of the road. After pulling over to the side of the road i turned my car off the turned it back on a few minutes later. The power steering was working again.i drove a couple of minutes and then the power steering turned off again.so i pulled over again.this time when i started my car the power steering didn't turn on again so i drove the rest of the way home with no power steering.i found a recall notice on a website. Here is the link: https://www.cars.com/research/saturn-aura-2009/recalls/looks like the recall number is 14v153000.when i called gm and saturn on their toll free number they customer service representative said that my car was not part of the recall. I don't understand why that would be because the symptoms of the recall are identical to my car's symptoms. Thank you.

Steering shaft torque sensor (23232310 sensor kit) was replaced under the special warranty 3 years ago. This is failing again, so gm obviously still hasn't fixed the problem with this critical safety component. I again have intermittent power steering shaking, partial or complete loss. Gm won't recall or cover this critical item even though it still has an obvious problem
The steering locked up when i was driving on the highway. It was scary especially because i was changing lane and this has happened several time now i can't even drive my car
Power steering went out in the middle of driving. Was able to get car off the road, turn car off, turn car back on and power steering worked again for about 1/2 mile before it went out again while driving. I took pictures of the warning lights that came on. Gm dealer states everything is wrong except the recalled part. Refusing to replace recalled part. Trying to charge 600 dollars for repair of entire steering column.

My wife had her coat caught in the door after she exited and the car began to move away.when the car is in drive, the door cannot be opened from the outside.she lost her balance and fell, losing her balance, broke her wrist. She could not open the door because it was locked automatically..the car is a 2009 saturn aura.the manual says that automatic locking of doors is programmed and can't be changed.this is not safe!!she could have been thrown under the car.
The contact owns a 2009 saturn aura. While driving 10 mph, the steering wheel began to make an abnormal sound without warning. The failure was persistent. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the rack and pinion failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 44,000. Updated 06/08/2016*ljthe consumer stated he received two conflicting inspections. He was told there was an issue with the rack and pinion, and then he was told there was no issue.the tires have since worn out and needs to be replaced. Updated 06/29/16.

Stopped at a drive-thru window.was in gear and under braking.two lights came on at dash: service esc and service traction.lights reset when vehicle is shut off and restarted.lights happen at random times during operation.when service lights occur, brake lights react opposite of normal operation.
The contact owns a 2009 saturn aura. While driving approximately 45 mph, the electronic stability control and traction control warning indicators illuminated and the vehicle hesitated. 552(b)(6)
Doors lock and unlock while driving and when parked
Need double check my car
The contact owns a 2009 saturn aura.the contact stated that the gear shifter is covered in chrome.the sun reflects on it and blinds the driver.the dealer stated that they will not do anything to correct this issue.the failure and current mileages were 3,027.
My power steering is gone
My transmission went out suddenly on the tex-express toll road in dallas, going 75 mph (the posted speed limit) on a narrow 2 lane overpass in the dark hours of the morning. There were previously no mechanical problems then suddenly i was going about 45 miles an hour. I managed to get off the overpass without an accident but my car would not shift to higher gears and upon parking it i discovered it wouldn't go in reverse either.my mechanic said that the wave plate broke and tore out the rest of the transmission. Other gm cars from my year had their wave plates part of a voluntary recall, however my vin is not listed as an affected unit. I'm concerned the problem may be more wide spread than originally reported.
When i bought the car last year the dealership said they installed brand new brakes but they where still squeaking so i just thought it was because of the new brakes but a month later my brakes and rotors and calipers were completely gone it costed me $1200 to replace them but then 2 months later again it started doing the same thing my brakes wore down completely so i asked my uncle to look at them and change them for me so he did and now my brakes are doing the same thing they grind very loud and squeak and i didn't buy no cheap brakes either they where top performance brakes another problem i had what's my control module in my transmission went out as i was driving on the high way my speedometer wasn't working and my car moved slowly and made a loud noise so i replaced it and it's working for now then my doors won't unlock i'll hit the unlock button in the car and the key chain but my back door on the drivers side does not unlock and my driver door does the same occasionally i have to pull the lock to unlock it and i've had my tires balance rotated and all that more than once but for some reason my front tires wear down fast i've went through 2 sets of front tires but my back tires are still good
While driving, the car suddenly reduced speed, engine light comes on stating to service traction.had the car repaired.it happened twice since, each time a day after picking up the car from the dealership.the last time, wednesday, october 28th, i was making a left turn, the car suddenly reduced speed, lights on.this is very dangerous. Contacted gm, no help at all!
Cruise control dropped off unexpectedly and the brake lights remained on throughout the rest of the drive. The brake lights stay on when passed 4th gear and the saturn shifts unnaturally between 4th and 6th gears between 50 and 70mph.
My mother was driving her vehicle when it suddenly accelerated to over 100 mph, she crashed her vehicle and died from the impact. Witnesses state she had her flashers on and she was observed trying to control the vehicle.
The contact owns a 2009 saturn aura. While driving 35 mph, the speed increased to 38 mph. While driving 40 mph, the speed increased to 43 mph. The failures occurred independently. The failure mileage was 115,000.
The contact owns a 2009 saturn aura. The contact stated while driving 35 mph, the cruise control disengaged independently and the brake light came on. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who was unable to diagnose the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure who did not offer any assistance. The failure mileage was 49,628.
The contact owns a 2009 saturn aura. The contact stated that while driving various speeds, the cruise control was activated and unexpectedly disengaged on its own. The failure was a frequent occurrence. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for diagnosis and an unknown part was replaced on the vehicle. The manufacturer was not notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 98,000.
The contact owns a 2009 saturn aura. While driving approximately 45 mph, the vehicle decelerated independently. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 33,000.
Need double check my car
Vehicle continues to lose power driving on highway over 40 mph. Aaa contacted because the vehicle would not start. Aaa tested vehicle andnoted that battery was good, alternator was good. Vehicle struggles to start at ignition. Vehicle is part of recall but when i run vin at gm site it states my vehicle does not have an active recall. Esc and abs light are always turning on and engineattempt to shut off at high speeds on fwy. Again, i call the dealer and my vin is not part of active recall yet all safety and life threatening indications are there. Please advise.
The contact owns a 2009 saturn aura. The contact stated that while driving approximately 65 mph, the cruise control disengaged independently and without warning. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 25,000 and the current mileage was 29,000. The vin was not available.
While driving on city streets and highways the speed control will release after being set or won't set at all, the third brake light works intermittently, and the steering got jerky while turning corners.
When driving the vehicle, the brake lights would come on randomly and would turn off when the brake pedal is pressed. They would operate in the opposite way that they should. This is extremely dangerous because vehicles behind you don't know when you are braking. This has been happening intermittently for months now.
Thank you
This vehicle has supposedly already been serviced under recall campaign number 14v252000.however, intermittently, the brake lights illuminate without the brake pedal being pushed; the brake lights don't illuminate when the pedal is pushed; difficulty engaging or disengaging the cruise control, and crash avoidance features such as traction control, electronic stability control, and panic braking assist features become disabled.the date given below for occurrence of the incident is just the most recent occurrence.this issuecan happen on a daily basis and has been returned to the dealer that performed the recall service but nothing is found to address the incident.

While driving in rush hour traffic in the pouring rain on the morning of november 16, 2010, the drivers side window wiper suddenly, without warning, quit working. As a result, i lost total visibility resulting in an extremely dangerous situation to myself and the drivers in front of me. Fortunately i was able to keep my wits about me, turned on my hazard lights and slowly made my way to the shoulder emergency lane without incident.it appears that there is a problem with the wiper arm where it bolts to the wiper motor shaft. The groves in the wiper arm hole where the shaft from the wiper motor mounts were completely stripped out.buick enclave, gmc acadia and saturn outlook have all had the same problem and a recall was issued - in the salt belt states.
Right side windshield wiper washer nozzle broke at the elbow where it connects the washer hose, the windshield can't be cleaned, simple use of the system and this small piece broke, design or manufacturing quality?
Windshield wiper motors have failed after less than 60,000 miles on the car.
Linkage bushing failed and fell apart on wiper transmission causing both wipers to become inoperative.
The contact owns a 2009 saturn aura. The contact stated that the sun roof was constantly inoperable, which allowed rain to seep inside. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. Approximately three inches or more of water collected inside the vehicle after each rain. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vin was unknown. The failure mileage was 60,000.
2009 saturn aura.consumer writes in regards to windshield wiper motor issues.the consumer stated when he engaged the lever control for the windshield wipers, at a selected intermittent speed, the wipers overlapped one another and stopped functioning. After having the wipers replaced, he continued to experience the problem.
Takata recallthere is something wrong with the structure of the car there is rattle/vibration when going over 50 mph. Car has been maintenance twice in the past 2 years for electrical and break pad replacement and i'm still having a vibration and rattle sound while driving.
When going around curves the esc active message comes on, and when this happens it tries to straighten my wheel as i'm still going around the curve.
