Takata recall i am concerned about the time it is taking to repair this. I understand that the parts have to be made but we are going on almost a year since the original recall letter came to me. When i call gm service centers they tell me that parts haven't been made and have no idea when to expect them. I drive my children around in my car (although not in the passenger side of the car) i am concerned because the recall states small metal objects could come out causing severe or fatal injurys. The car cabin is small and am worried for their safety. Is there some option to turn my car in for trade value due to this? i just want ta safe care for my family.thanks, rob

Takata recall1. My car is affected by the takata recall, but is not listed in the most recent update on the nhtsa site.2. More importantly, it has been 5 months since i received a letter stating the issue and telling me not to have anyone sit in the passenger seat.this is difficult to do with a four seat car and a family of 4.i have a potential bomb in my car that may shoot shrapnel out and i can not get it replaced or removed.this is completely unacceptable.why can this not be disabled or removed (per an email from saab)?not having anyone sit in the front seat and risking anyone else in the rear seats and driver seat is not a practical solution.

Takata recall: i received notice of the recall and safety warning in july (although the recall was issued in may) of 2015.since then i have received no update and by direction of the recall notice and safety concerns, i have not been able to use the front passenger seat of my vehicle.for the past seven months this has been an extreme inconvenience and has greatly reduced the usability and value of my vehicle.i would like to be compensated for this with a temporary replacement vehicle until the recall repairs can be made.

After receiving nhtsa recall no. 15v-323, an appointment was made at an authorize service center. After 4 hours of waiting, the dealer indicated no replacement parts are available in the entire country.when asked for a loaner car, the request was denied and my car was returned.the recall notice indicates the front passenger seat should not be occupied ~ this is extremely disruptive to my family.i am not satisfied with gm/sitton response to this recall notice and attempt to pass liability and inconvenience to my family.

Subaru of america has determined that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in my 2005 saab 9-2x. I was sent a notice stating that, " in the event of a crash necessitating deployment of the passenger's frontal air bag, the inflator could rupture with metal fragments striking the vehicle occupants potentially resulting in serious injury or death." it's now december and i haven't received a notice to have the part repaired. Will gm/saab replace the air bag ? if not, can they pay the remaining balance on the vehicle and take it?

My car was repaired at patrick cadillac in schaumburg, but still the "airbag" light is on at the dashboard. The mechanic old me that the light is not part of the recall. Since the light is on, that means that there is a problem with the safety airbag.another issue is with the abs. Whenever i step on the breaks, the abs shakes as if it's bouncing on the breaks, and the whole car shakes. Is there a problem with the abs systems? i thought my breaks needed changing, and all four break pads were changed, but the problems persists.

I am original owner of this vehicle.i received airbag recall statement in july 2015 and have heard nothing further. I contacted saab customer assistance by email and was told no parts are available and they don't know when they will be.i am concerned that i have been driving an unsafe car until july and then unable to use front passenger seat due to recall statement regarding it being unsafe.i do not think this length of time or lack of commitment towards repair is acceptable.

Who will fix the air bags on this vehicle?saab is out of business and mb dealer has no records.i went to subaru (they built the vehicle) and they said i should contact nhtsa.i also left a phone message to return my call.

Takata recalli received a notice in the mail recently from gm that said i needed to make a service appointment to get the passenger airbag inflator replaced. It said to go to my.gm.com/recalls and enter my vin. I did that and it showed two recalls: one for the airbag and an older recall for the control arms. I called ourisman gmc in alexandria (http://www.chevroletofalexandria.com/) and spoke with von, who said he was a service manager. He said that i did not have any outstanding recalls. I told him i had gotten a card and that my.gm.com/recalls said i had a recall. He said that the fix had not been figured out and that's why i was not showing up in their database. This is nonsense - other people with the same car have had this fix done. He refused to look in my.gm.com/recalls and kept repeating that he could only use his system.i then called route 1 buick gmc (http://www.route1buickgmc.com/) and spoke with a service person named diana. She gave me the same story but was at least more polite about it.this recall has been outstanding for 18 months and the suspension recall has been outstanding for five years. They have refused to help me. I could get into an accident tomorrow and be killed by my car's airbag. Neither person was interested in researching or attempting to figure out why there was a mismatch. This is nothing short of negligence. I got a recall notice in the mail and it is also reflected on safercar.gov.

Takata recall - we were informed of the recall nearly a year ago but have not been able to replace the bag. We have not used our front set on a regular basis due to this recall and have been forced to rent cars when we need to seat 5 passengers. This expense is burdensome, and we need an immediate remedy to ensure the safety of our family and our pasengers.

During cold weather, fuel lines leak/seep raw fuel into engine compartment. If left untreated, could potentially cause engine fire, leading to injury and death.please get subaru/saab to fix asap.

Very strong fuel smell in car, and in engine compartment after starting car. Ambient outdoor temperatures for the last 4-5 days have been below 20 degrees f. This particular vehicle has been in service in vermont since february 2007, and in connecticut before that when originally purchased new. This is the same issue that has already been addressed by subaru for the 02-03 subaru wrx (which shares an identical powertrain/fueling system with the saab 9-2x aero), as outlined in recall # nhtsa campaign id number: 09v468000 ea09011 nhtsa action number: ea09011 (subaru recall program#wvk-21).

When temperatures get near freezing, there is a strong gasoline smell coming from the engine compartment that seeps into the cabin. It seems like the clamps that hold the rubber fuel lines may come loose over time and the cold causes the lines to contract allowing the fuel to leak.

Vehicle interior smells heavily of gasoline after sitting outside in freezing temperatures.fuel smell persists at low speeds and seems to be coming from underhood.

This car, while a saab by name, is made by subaruand is mechanically identical to a 2005 impreza wrx.subaru recalled 2002- 2003 wrxs for a cold weather fuel leak.the recall number is 01-170-09.this car being two model years newer is not covered however it suffers from the exact same issue.during very cold temperatures like the ones we are experiencing now, (below 20 degrees f) raw fuel leaks from a hose in the engine compartment.this smell floods the cabin and is so bad, windows need to be rolled down.i have contacted subaru for assistance but have yet to receive help.

At below freezing temperatures, the fuel line leaks raw gasoline onto the engine, near the turbocharger, creating a fire risk. The evaporated gasoline is immediately pumped into the passenger cabin creating a health risk.this is a known issue for the subaru wrx and a recall was issued. The 2005 saab 9-2x is mechanically identical in this regard to the wrx, but no recall was issued.details:https://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1893471examples:http://www.carcomplaints.com/saab/9-2x/2005/fuel_system/fuel_propulsion_system.shtmldiscussion:http://saab92x.com/viewtopic.php?id=17792&p=1

Last december i took my car to midas on 2625 state road, cuyahoga falls, oh because of the check engine light on. They fixed my cataytic converter. My check right engine light would not go off. On 022716 inv 0143048 check engine light was still on. I had to do 292.69 worth repairs.03172017 inv 0151700 1329.39 worth repairs.41517 inv 0152375 1152.39 worth repairs.052217 inv 0148090 1000.00 worth repairs.on 061017 inv 0152375 the catalytic converters were replaced for free. The pairs were recalled. Took the car to mazda of bedford. The check engine light is still on.phone number 440 439 2323. They scanned the car. The catalytic converter still not right. Took the car to mechanic. Mechanic clears the code. He told me it is a history code. My check engine light is still on.

Major fuel leak in cold temperatures on a 2005 saab 9-2x aero.the fuel line/hose under the intake manifold leaks significantly in cold temperatures.this is a known issue on the subaru wrx of the same year(s).subaru of america issued recall campaign wvk-21 on their vehicles, and the saab 9-2x aero is mechanically the exact same vehicle, however there is no recall for the saab.

Purchased car approx 2 months ago. Odometer read 24,200 miles. Within two months, and 2,000 miles, the car has been in for a whining noise, alarm, power steering, and an air compressor. After 3 weeks back and forth, i am now on my third differential, second air compressor, second power steering pump, and second alarm speaker. Tomorrow i go back to the shop for the same whining noise, the alarm speaker (out again), the air compressor (extremely noisy), and fuel economy only reaching 12 to 13 mpg(rated 19 to 26). The dealerships "tech center" said that the noises were inherent, but if so, why would they replace the differential twice, and why would it get progressively louder in a weeks time. I loved the car when i bought it, but now it feels as if i bought a lemon. I have been driving loan cars longer than my own.

The contact owns a 2005 saab 92 aero (n/a). The contact stated that while driving 55 mph, he noticed a knocking noise from the engine compartment. The vehicle was towed to his resident. The contact called the authorized dealer who stated that there was nothing they could do to assist. The vehicle had not been repaired. The current and failure mileages were approximately 79,000.

On cold mornings there's a raw fuel smell indicating, at best, vapors escaping and at worst liquid fuel spillage.a peek down between the intake manifold near the fuel rail shows no pooling, but, some kind of residue on the screw/clamp holding the hose to hardline.

Vehicle has raw fuel smell during cold mornings (<20 degrees f). Appears to be leaking from fuel lines supplying fuel injectors. Could start fire if the problem progresses further.

During cold weather, fuel lines leak/seep raw fuel into engine compartment. If left untreated, could potentially cause engine fire, leading to injury and death.please get subaru/saab to fix asap.

Strong smell of raw fuel at cold start up.outside temperature approximately 15f.the smell goes away after the car is warmed up after a period of driving.subsequent occurrences throughout each winter when temperatures are below 20f.concerned that the leakage could result in a fire or toxic fumes being passed into the passenger compartment.fuel leakage appears to be related to a known issue with the subaru impreza platform on which this car is based.

Strong raw fuel smell on start. This occurs in cold (<10f) temperatures. The fumes fill the entire cabin.

Very strong raw fuel smell in cabin when air temps below 15 degrees f.must open windows to pprevent eyes from watering and burning.

Raw fuel is present and pools on the engine only when outside air temps go below freezing. Happens constantly. Many people on the referring internet site have reported the same problem. I have not been able to determine the proper fix.

On and off, there is a very strong odor of fuel in the cabin of the car. Had to drive with the windows open. This has been happening since the weather became very cold.

At temperatures below 15f, raw fuel (gasoline) leaks from fuel rail and fuel supply lines at multiple locations onto the engine. This is due to loose hose clamps, rubber hose degradation, and metal fuel line degradation. (note: this car is mechanically identical to 2004 subaru impreza wrx.)

Fuel lines on top of the engine leak during cold weather, below 10 degrees f.there is a strong fuel odor out side the vehicle and inside when the vents are on.the smell goes away after the car is completely warmed up, 10-20 minutes of driving.car is at the dealer with parts on order to help fix the problem.

Fuel leak under intake manifold on 2005 saab 9-2x occurs whenever there is cold weather.strong smell of raw fuel fills passenger compartment on startup and continues until engine is warmed up presenting health and safety concerns. Saab 9-2x is identical vehicle to subaru impreza sport wagon where this problem has been common and extensive since 2002.subaru recall wvk-21 was issued with extended warranty to cover repairs under subaru service bulletin 09-36-03.replacement fuel lines and gasket required to repair problem (wvk-21 repair kit # 10130aa000).saab will not recognize this recurring problem as a warranty repair.the potential for fire along with health risks exists and must be addressed.

During cold weather there are fumes coming from the right side of the engine, and strong gasoline smell inside the cabin, the driving is only possible with windows rolled down. The driving at night is not possible when the warm air is turn on, more gasoline smell comes inside. I don't understand since subaru had similar problem with impreza wrx and there was a recall, why they ignore this with saab 9-2x that has subaru engine.

In cold temperatures my car begins to smell of fuel and based on a mechanics diagnosis, it has to do with the fuel line clamps needing to be tightened. It seems like many of saab 9-2x aero models have this issue. This is unacceptable and should be recalled by the company. If this many people are having issues, there is clearly a problem.

When the outside temperature is approximately 35 degrees f or less, there is a strong raw fuel smell in the vehicle from cold startup.the problem dissipates after the vehicle comes up to operating temperature.mechanic diagnosed it as a leaking fuel line under the intake manifold.the cost of this repair is approximately $700.this issue appears to be common in boththe saab 9-2x and its subaru equivalent, the impreza wrx.both models were built by subaru.there was a recall for the 2002 and 2003 subaru wrx, but nothing has been issued regarding this vehicle.

When temperature is below freezing, there is a strong smell of fuel in the cabin until the engine reaches operating temperature.it is noted that the fuel lines are leaking near the clamps under the intake manifold on the passenger side.approx. 1 drip every 2 seconds until the engine is warm and the rubber seals again.it appears this is a known issue with many subaru models, however there has only been a partial tsb and the 2005my has not been included at the time of this posting.the smell is very strong when stopped, and goes away once in motion.once the car warms up, there is no sign of any smell.fuel leak location is also very near the turbocharger, which gets to very high temperature.

Strong fuel smell inside of car. Inspected under hood and determined that the fuel smell was emanating from the right side of the engine.

For the winter a raw fuel smell filled the engine and passenger compartment, especially in cold weather on a cold startup. Mechanic diagnosed it as a leaking fuel line under the intake manifold. This problem appears to be quite common affecting both saab 9-2x and its subaru equivalent the wrx (both models built by subaru). There was a recall issued for 02-03 wrx's, but it appears nothing has been done to fix this hazardous issues in later models.

When temperatures get near freezing, there is a strong gasoline smell coming from the engine compartment that seeps into the cabin. It seems like the clamps that hold the rubber fuel lines may come loose over time and the cold causes the lines to contract allowing the fuel to leak.

Upon cold weather startups (less than 20 degrees) strong smell of raw fuel in cabin until car warms up.

Every time vehicle is started in below freezing temperatures there is strong cabin smell raw gasoline fumes. It only goes away after several minutes of driving. Possible fire hazard. Please help.

The contact owns a 2005 saab 9-2x. The contact stated that a gasoline fuel odor was being emitted into the vehicle. The contact mentioned that the gasoline smell would diminish after the engine was warm. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The vin was not available. The failure mileage was 130,000 and the current mileage was 190,000.

When starting up and driving in cold conditions (temperature below 32f, not referring to engine bay temperature but ambient), a fuel line 'shrinks' or 'leaks' fuel vapor and liquid onto the engine block and causes a very noticeable and nauseous raw gasoline smell. This condition is know and is in a recall for my2002-2003 subaru wrxs with the same engine as the 2005 saab 92-x aero as well as other subarus and is know to exist by many, many subaru and saab owners. This is a safety concern since mine is leaving gasoline directly on top of the cylinder head and could potentially result in a fire which in many circumstances can lead to serious injuries to myself and/or other motorists. My car is completely stock with no modifications to the power-plant of any kind.

This vehicle, being made by saab and subaru of america, is exibiting the same exact issue as described by the 2002-2003 subaru wrx fuel leak recall initiated by the nhtsa in 2003 (i believe).this issue is starting to appear, even in mild climates like mine in california, on vehicles well beyond the 02-03my. My vehicle is equivalent to the 2005 subaru wrx wagon. It uses the same engine/fuel system. It doesn't get very cold here, but on a 50 degree f day this morning, i had a strong smell of fuel for the second time in a row. I anticipate this will happen every morning, from now on. This is an obvious fire and safety hazard, proven by the fact the nhtsa already had soa issue a recall previously for the same issue.the "fix" is not working long term, since my vehicle fell into manufacture years after the fact. Manufacturing changes did not remedy the issue, the issue remains, even up to the 2005 my. I urge the nhtsa to seriously investigate this fuel leaking issue for all 2002-up subaru boxer engines. It's still a major issue.raw fuel evaporating into the atmosphere, and noxious vapors entering the vehicle cabin while being driven, not a good situation.

Takata recall for airbagand fuel leak on fuel rail same as subaru wrx

When the temperature is below freezing or close to 45 degrees f, this car will leak gasoline from the fuel lines under the intake in the engine bay.this fuel pools onto the hot engine block and causes a fire hazard.it also creates a smell of gasoline inside the vehicle cabin that is so strong that the windows need to be lowered to breathe properly and for the health of the passengers.the maker of this car, fuji heavy industries (subaru) and the seller (general motors), knows about this problem and have done nothing to prevent a fire that is waiting to happen or make any safety recalls for this car.

Raw fuel odor in cabin.took vehicle to personal mechanic as it was no longer under warranty.it was determined that fuel lines under exhaust manifold were dry and had cracked.replaced two lines at the cost of >$750 parts and labor.a year later the fuel smell came back.upon completing another repair, it was determined the other two lines were also dry and crack and were repaired.cost could not be singled out as the repair was in conjunction with another.fuel smell was present especially on cold mornings (<30f).

I notice a strong smell of gas if the temperature drops below 20 degrees. This seems to be a fire hazard and also a health hazard.the same problem existed on the subaru wrx which is the same car and it was recalled. The same needs to be done for the saab which was built by subaru.

The smell of raw fuel in the cabin on cold weather starts. Further investigation revealed a fuel leak underneath the intake and fuel spraying and pooling on top of the engine block. So much fuel leaking that it ran down and made a puddle under the car.

There is an extremely strong gas smell in the cabin when temperatures are below 32 degrees. This appears to be a very common problem on these cars, as well as their subaru cousins (subaru wrx, subaru impreza).some references:http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2127350http://saab92x.com/viewtopic.php?id=49113.

Every time vehicle is started in below freezing temperatures gasoline sprays out of fuel lines under intake manifold and leaks all over engine, interior cabin smells of strong gasoline fumes during this time and also while driving, possible fire condition may occur.

The contact owns a 2005 saab 9-2x. The contact stated that he smelled a fuel odor in the cabin of vehicle during cold start ups. The vehicle was taken to a dealer. After diagnosis, they advised him that some screws were loose and needed to be tightened. The vehicle was repaired by tightening the screws on the fuel line. Approximately one month later, the fuel odor returned. The manufacturer was contacted and they offered no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000. The current mileage was approximately 115,000.

Vehicle interior smells heavily of gasoline after sitting outside in freezing temperatures.fuel smell persists at low speeds and seems to be coming from underhood.

When weather reaches below 20f raw fuel seeps out of a line running on the engine. Smell of gas is apparent until car is fully warm.

The contact owns a 2005 saab 9-2x.the contact stated that there was a strong gasoline fuel smell in the vehicle. The fuel smell became extremely noticeable when the temperature was lower. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The mechanic was unable to diagnose the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 140,000.

Fuel smell in cold weather. This seems to happen in cold weather only. When i start the car, i get a smell of fuel in the cabin. The car is parked. When i have the air recirculation button pressed, the smell does not enter the cabin.

Beside the takata recall, the car is leaking gas when the temperature drops below 20 degrees. The interior is filled with the smell of fuel when it is cold. Obviously the same problem is happening to more cars and all you have to do is a search on google for gas smell wrx when it's cold. Or similar.apparently the fuel lines shrink when it's cold and the clamps do not hold and leak gas on a hot engine right by the manifold. It most certainly can cause a fir and should be recalled. Especially when so many people have had the exact same problem.

This car while being badged as a saab is exactly the same as the 05 subaru impreza wrx.the saab 92x leaks raw fuel.i'm not sure where it's coming from.in the 02-03 impreza had a recall for this same problem which unfortunately does not cover 05.however the fuel leak problem still exists and needs to be addressed by subaru or gm any fuel leak is hazardous especially one like this.this needs to be a recall.it's not safe.

While pulling out of the driveway, i suddenly heard a loud noise from the engine bay and couldn't turn my steering wheel to exit the driveway.the failure was due to the rubber ring (inner ring) of the engine's crankshaft pulley becoming misaligned with the metal ring (outer ring), causing the belt for the power steering pump to become detached from the pulley.this caused the steering wheel to become suddenly difficult to turn which could have posed a dangerous situation if i were driving on a busy road.please note my vehicle's engine and drivetrain is identical to the more popular and better-selling 2005 subaru impreza, so this could have happened on that vehicle as well.my mechanic has seen this problem on multiple imprezas, but subaru refuses to acknowledge the widespread problem.

Brake pressure in the pedal was lost abruptly on my way to work at highway speeds.i managed to safely slow the car down but could have resulted in a serious accident.once the vehicle was returned to my home i inspected the brake lines and identified a severe brake line leak at the rear 4-way joint connector.the car was recently bought from someone in michigan where it was originally sold.that component of the vehicle showed large amounts of rust and corrosion.

I purchased a 2005 saab 9-2x and shortly after was involved in an accident resulting in my car being totaled.the accident occured when the steering failed to work properly resulting in the car jumping a median and landing on its side.shortly thereafter the car ignited into a fire starting in the engine, which quickly spread to the interior.luckily the passenger and i made it out quickly and safely.

It is a known issue in the saab 9-2x community that the rear strut towers rust out and fall apart. This is an issue that should be addressed as it is so common whether in a rust prone state or not.

Strut towers corrosion

Both rear left and right strut towers began rusting to the point the rear suspension alignment was constantly shifting due to the lack of structure remaining in the body

It is a well known issue with 2005-2006 saab 9-2x's, subaru wrx's that the rear strut towers are prone to rust through and cause a rear strut to completely break free from the body of the vehicle.this is a general motors/subaru issue, since the 9-2x is all subaru parts with saab badging.

Metal plate rear strut towers rusting out. Constantly, presents potential for suspension to fail and rear running gear to puncture the body

Severe strut tower rust with many peoples collapsing. This is directly due to subaru and gms manufacturing of the car.

George's imports in kansas city, mo states that they do not have the tool required to test for corrosion on my transverse links, and therefore, cannot perform the recall repair.

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2005 saab 9-2x. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign numbers: 11v464000 (suspension) and 15v323000 (air bags); however, the parts to do the repairs were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repairs. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Vin tool confirms parts not available.

Car has had the recall actions performed on the lower control arms. The passenger control arm failed in the same place addressed by the recall, despite having the 'fix'. It failed while i was driving on a public road, resulting in loss of control and damage of multiple other components.

My strut towers have begun to rust, and if i don't repair and weld it soon, my rear struts might rip through the towers.the rear strut towers of saab 92x rust out over time due to moisture getting through the towers and getting trapped under sound deadening material. This causes virtually every non-fairweather 92x to undergo a rusted strut tower on the frame. This is such a problem, the first recommended step when buying used is to check these frames as the rear struts can rip through when they are rusted and cause a potentially fatal accident.the only proper fix is welding.

The contact owns a 2005 saab 9-2x. The contact stated while attempting to park the vehicle, the control arm fractured. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle wastaken to a local dealer and was told rubber bushings and rubber control arm links could be worn. The control could just break apart from rust. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the vehicle was repaired in 2012 under nhtsa campaign number: 11v464000 (suspension) however, the failure still occurred. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure but offered no additional assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000. The consumer is still waiting to have the vehicle repaired. The consumer stated after arguing with gm, the appoint was set for july 16, 2021.the consumer stated it was determined to be damage a broken control arm, broken sway bar link, broken sway bar and axle being pulled from the differential. There was a temporary control arm replaced in order for the vehicle to move, but the repairs have not been made for this vehicle. The vehicle will needan alignment and parts replaced upon inspection to see if there is more damage. Than initial inspection showed.

Hi, i had recall 15031 performed on my car in may of 2012.the recall is for the front lower control arm, which due to corrosion from road salt can shear during driving and create a dangerous situation. Since my car was sold under the saab brand, this recall was performed by gm as saab had gone bankrupt before the recall service was performed.my issue concern is this:despite 7 years in the north east prior, the mechanic deemed my control arms good enough, and sprayed the control arms with rust proofing rather than replacing.if you know about corrosion/ rust, you know it cannot be stopped by covering it up.once it has started it'll rust the metal despite being covered up. Also i have noticed when changing from summer to winter tires, that the rust proofing sprayed on is flaking off.i am concerned in the coming years an unsafe condition will arise that the same as it had when subaru/ gm issued the recall.thank you for your time,[xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Vehicle was backing out of a driveway when right-front suspension collapsed. Vehicle was no longer drive-able as entire wheel assembly was loose and rubbing againstcar body. Luckily, car was only moving at low speed at that moment and was stopped without injury to driver or damage to other cars or property. Car had to be towed (taken to nearest chevrolet dealer). Chevy service department assessed issue, stating that right front control arm corroded and broke. Other suspension components were damaged, as well, as a result of control arm collapse.car was subject to saab recall no. 15031 (11281). This is also nhtsa recall no. 11v-464, dated april 2012. Recall concerns corrosion of control arms. This vehicle was serviced for the recall in september 2012, with control arms being inspected and under-coated. (service receipt available if needed for investigation.)chevy and saab would not provide repair reimbursement as recall was officially closed out.concern is that many saab and subaru cars are still on the road with potential for acatastrophic failure.

The contact owns a 2005 saab 9-2x. The contact stated that while replacing a tire, he noticed that the lower control arm was severely rusted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact also stated that the vehicle was repaired under recall campaign number: 11v464000 (suspension). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000.

The contact owns a 2005 saab 9-2x.the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 11v464000 (suspension:front:control arm:lower arm) and made an attempt to contact the manufacturer in regard to locating an authorized dealer who could perform the recall repairs. The manufacturer advised the contact that they were no longer making repairs under the recall because the recall had expired.the vehicle was not repaired.the current mileage was 90,000. The contact had not encountered a failure.

The driver's side control arm failed, resulting in a loss of steering control. The control arms were subject to a recall in 2012 (which was performed by a saab dealership at 99,992 miles).after the failure, a spokesperson for the dealership said the control arms were not replaced, but rather a clear rust proofing agent was applied by a subcontractor.

The four bolts that the rear seats attach to hold moisture which then infiltrates the strut towers and causes them to rot out.what will happen is you can be driving and without notice, a wheel will disconnect from the body of the car and immediately become a hazard that forces you to wreck the car since the wheel is no longer attached.every saab 9-2x has this issue and every owner either parts the car out or has to have it repaired which i recently did to the tune of $1,075.just to keep the car safe to drive.the fix requires the rusted area to be cut out and then new metal welded in so it can regain structural rigidity.
