Consumer states motor home has a serious steering problem, consumer states it is very difficult to change lanes, he has to brake to prevent motor home from going over the white lines, an alignment has been performed, heavy duty shocks have been installed, which has not helped, dealer installed a cylinder on the steering that helps when traveling at low speeds.(roadtrek motorhome 1999)
The consumer states that the vehicle is very difficult to handle.he had experienced wandering from side to side, making the steering a real problem.consumer had taken the vehicle for an evaluation, and was told that the steering/suspension was okay.the consumer in return had a friend of his check out the vehicle-(an owner of motor homes for years)-and kept the vehicle for seven days and his evalauation is as followed:no courtesy lights/or not able to find, unit is at max gross wt w/only two people, water, fuel, and generator, no tachometer, wanders constantly (max safe speed is 60 mph-over 67 mph/unsafe), unable to keep stability when large vehicles pass, feels as though a lot of weight in the rear/over /behind the rear axle-(as though it wants to swing out of line w/the front, and overall feels that this is a lost cause if the proper persons doesn't find a way to remove some of the weight from behind the rear wheels.the consumer then had taken the vehicle to gene's auto to remedy the problem and was referred to an engineer from the chrysler corp., who then had given instructions on what to do that may remedy the problem(s), (who was aware of the problem and was working to resolve).the consumer did so, but was still experiencing the same problems.the consumer is requesting his money back as designated by the california lemon law.*scc

There was no prior warning before the blowout.vehicle was totaled, driver's collarbone was broken and passenger suffered cuts.no contact has been made with firestone. Tire size p245/75r16, originals with 15,177 miles on a 1999, road trek, class b motor home.firestone steeltex r4s.
While driving the tread of the firestone tire peeled off breaking the water lines (firestone steeltex radial r45 lt245/75-16).
