The contact owns a 2016 redwood 38rl (na) recreational trailer. While driving 35 mph, the wall that held the shield separated and the axle detached. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the front axle needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified at 855-226-7496 and confirmed that another axle would be sent. The dealer was not contacted. The contact was provided case number: gr005863 from the manufacturer and case number: 1576330 from lippert. The vin was unknown. The approximate failure mileage was 9,217.*ln..consumer stated change over to discbrakes because of the absolutely poor to non-existent we had on the factory brakes. Consumer installed kodiak after market brakes. No vin available updated 7/27/18axle broke, vin unable to process on carfax updated 7/31/18
Cpsc:it has been known for quite some time that the egress safety window in the redwood 38rl is defective in that on the rear of the trailer, the ladder attached on the outside, that leads to the roof, blocks the emergency egress window.*dt
