2 weeks ago my brand new ram 3500 with only 15000 on board didn't start, it didn't start in the morning on parking lot. Called a mechanic to have it fixed but they were not able. Same day called roadside assistance for towing and ram customer service. Results: -ram roadside assistance didn't cover the cost to dealer: reason: too close to the dealer. -ram customer service took all the information, gave me a case id and said somebody will call you in 1-2 days. As of today i keep calling customer service once in 2 days, they keep issuing new case id's because old once are incorrect, and keep telling me will call you in 1-2 days. Nobody from ram called so far. Dealer said: fuel pomp failed and they'll get the parts in november, (august 21 now) and i can't tell them anything cause they will fix me even tomorrow if would have parts from ramquestion: why a brand new ram has to sit 3 month in dealers shop, who is going to cover the payments and why i keep getting promises that somebody will call?

Rear running lights stop working.checked all fuses, wiring all seems fine. Turn and brake lights work just no rear running lights. Know issue on old model.

After replacing the egr valve at 55,000 miles dealer went to reset service codes. Pcm was found to be at fault and unable to clear codes. Dealer claimed pcm was not under warranty. Ram customer care made no efforts to replace or repair pcm. Have had 9+ issues with the truck. All issues have fallen outside of warranty by 3 to 4 thousand miles.

My truck is equipped with a defective cp4 injection pump. It's been changed twice since my truck was built, once in 2020 and again in 2021 to a different model. Ram has had many costly and dangerous failures with these pumps. I have not yet had a failure. However it's only a matter of time. When a pump fails it happens suddenly and not only does it wipe out the entire fuel system and sometimes the engine, it causes your engine to stall. This causes lack of power steering and no brakes. My 3500 is built to tow heavy trailers and in a situation with heavy traffic of a steep grade sudden lose of brakes could be disastrous, especially towing a camper with my family aboard. Ram knows of this problem and made a quick revision of the pump in 2020 and ditched it altogether in 2021 for a different pump. There needs to be a recall on these 2019 first model trucks with the known defective and dangerous cp4 injection pump.

For thanksgiving i was driving home from a trip to california about 800 miles away from home, on a merging lane i stepped on the gas to clear lane for a emerging semi trailer i was traveling around 65 mph as i did that i got a warning message on my dashboard to service exhaust system then lost all power from my vehicle from 65 to 35 on interstate 5 a drastically slowdown causing the cars behind me to crash. I pull to the shoulder and my truck just died would not start had it towed to closest dealer next morning. Had to sleep with my new born in the cold truck. Once at dealer i was told the cp4 or high flow pressure pump had fail and the complete fuel system needed replaced. The estimate was for $20,000 but my insurance cover $13,000 of the bill the rest i had to borrow from friends and family. Service advisor said this is a very common problem on all new rams. If it's so common why not fix the issue my whole family was out in danger that night and also was expensive. The issue is fix for now but is a matter of time before it happens again

The contact owns a 2019 ram 3500. The contact stated while his wife was driving at 55 mph, whenshe heard an abnormal noise before the vehicle stalled and smoke started to enter the cab through the vents and exiting the hood. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The driver was able to park on the side road and opened the hood to see fire exiting the engine. The driver was able extinguish the fire with fire extinguisher. The contact stated no fire or police report was filed.the vehicle was not drivable. The vehicle was towed to local dealer sam leman chrysler dodge jeep ram fiat morton (200 e courtland st, morton, il 61550, (309) 263-2345) where the vehicle was being serviced at the moment. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired as of yet. The vin was associated to nhtsa campaign number: 20v511000 (engine and engine cooling, electrical system). The contact attempted to contact the manufacturer but not been able to speak to anyone as of yet.the failure mileage was approximately 130,000.

I purchased my 2019 ram 3500 back in nov 2019 and i am very concerned about my family safety since my truck has cp4 pump that known to fail that leads to 10-20k in repair eventually will fail in the middle of highway with our 40ft camper, those scenarios will i think leads to my family to accident that all the sudden the truck loss the power and not only will impact my family also someone else in the highway.please investigate this matter and recall my truck to have the cp4 pump replace with reliable one so that way when we do travel my family and everyone will be save , thank you for your time.

Cp4 fuel pump failure while driving at hwy speeds. Left me stranded in the road

The 2019 to 2020 model year ram 2500 heavy duty equipped with a 6.7l cummins diesel engine has a major safety issue that could cause a stall and increase the risk of a crash. The bosch cp4.2 fuel injection pump has a very high rate of sudden failure leading to immediate stoppage on the engine and engine braking system. The pump destroys itself and takes out the rest of the entire fuel system leading to repairs in the $20,000 usd range. Fca & ram have attempted to revise the pump in late (july) 2020 to solve the issue but the failures keep occurring. For the 2021 model year, fca & ram have changed the pump entirely and reverted back to using an older, safer, more reliable design. No public announcements of neither the pump revision in 2020, nor the pump change in 2021 have been made. The issue is so prevalent that the replacement pumps and repairs generally have a 30-90 day wait period where the customer is without the primary vehicle. This problem is a substantiated safety risk. According to a texas judge in a bosch cp4.2 lawsuit, when another automaker, gm tried to dismiss the case saying the pump failure is not a safety issue, the court responded: "the worst case scenario of a truck spontaneously stalling at high speeds is not a mere inconvenience. Nor is it a mere inconvenience to spend between $8,000 to $20,000 on repairs to make the trucks fit for their ordinary purpose. The court rejects gm's suggestion that the risk of spontaneous engine failure while driving is not, as a matter of law, unreasonably dangerous, depriving the vehicles of fitness for their purpose of transportation.". Toyota agrees: "if a vehicle stall occurs while driving at higher speeds, this could increase the risk of a crash". Fca & ram have remedied the situation for the 2021 model year however, the 2019 and 2020 owners are still at risk. The nhtsa needs to force fca to recall these trucks.

Engine started leaking and the fuel injection pump stopped working

The contact owns a 2019 dodge ram 3500. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 20v036000 (power train) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. An unknown dealer was contacted and confirmed that the parts were not available. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Vin tool confirms parts not available.

While driving on the highway the check engine came on when the transmission would not shift on the last two gears truck would go to 2500 to 3000 rpm's until it would shift but felt as if it was on neutral during the time. As this situation is extremely dangerous because this truck is used to haul a 3 car trailer. The truck has been to (kunes country dodge dealership in sterling il) and they have yet to fix the problem only saying that there is a recall but once the truck is driven again the same problem persist. I will be taking the truck another dealership to see if they can fix the problem.

This vehicle (2019 ram 3500 diesel) is effected by chrysler star case s2018000008 which causes engine surging under load or during acceleration. This surging can cause a loss of control in winter conditions (snow/ice). Additional epa concern being the engine light stays on which hides any emissions equipment failures. To date chrysler has not been able to provide an eta for the needed engine control software fix needed.

Cp4 fuel pump failure while driving at hwy speeds. Left me stranded in the road

I have a 2019 ram 3500 truck with the high output 400hp engine and the 'heavy duty' aisin transmission. I am having problems with the transmission. While driving in mountainous terrain at slow speed (5 to 10 mph) the transmission seems to shift into neutral, engine will rev up to 2000 to 2500 rpm for a few seconds and then slam into gear, creating a safety hazard. This happens on acontinual basis. A few times, i have stopped at an intersection on a hill, when attempting to take off and turn into traffic, the truck will get partially into the road when the transmission seems to shift into neutral, slows down while the engine revs to 2000 to 2500 rpm (while traffic keeps coming at you) and finally slams into gear and starts moving again. The nature of the issue is creating a life threatening situation. When you are on a hill and stop, upon removing your foot from the brake to resume travel up the hill, the truck will roll backwards, after rolling a short distance the transmission will slam into gear causing the engine to stall. As the engine dies, there is a complete loss of braking and steering, leading to more life threatening situations; as you are rolling backwardswith little to no brakes or steering. My area has a lot of steep grades that we have to drive on a regular basis.i have taken the lemon to the dealer for repair many times. My initial complaint and dealer visit was at approximately 3,500 miles. There have been multiple firmware updates , with no change in the behavior. Another attempt was changing the transmission internals, no change in the behavior. Another tripinvolved adding a recorder to log the behavior to send to manufacturer.. The last time, i was told there is nothing else to be done. A case has been opened with ram, which has responded it is operating within the design limits and they will not do anything else.

The contact owns a 2019 ram 3500. The contact stated that the gear shift became stuck in park several times. On one occasion, while the vehicle was engaged in park and unoccupied, it rolled away and crashed into the contact's trailer. The air bags did not deploy. A police report was not filed. There were no injuries. The vehicle was currently at rodeo chrysler dodge jeep ram (35747 n ellsworth rd, queen creek, az 85142, (480) 550-3800) where the contact was informed that a part in the gear shifter failed. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vin was not available. The failure mileage was approximately 500.

The contact owns a 2019 ram 3500. The contact stated while driving 60 mph, the vehicle shifted into limp mode. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact continued driving to his destination. The vehicle was taken to prescott brothers chrysler dodge jeep ram of princeton (730 w peru st, princeton, il 61356, (815) 915-4157) to be diagnosed. The failure mileage was approximately 4,300.

I have a 2019 ram 3500 with the 6.7l cummins engine and aisin transmission.the truck currently has 9255 miles on it.soon after purchase, i noticed several issues with the transmission.issue #1 was a hesitation or lerching at certain mph (35-40).i took it into a local dealer for diagnosis and they determined that there was a tsb(technical service bulletin) that the transmission control module needed updated.that service was performed but did not rectify the hesitation and lerching.round 2 at a different dealer with the same issues and the different dealer performed a "dealer quick learn" basically wiping the computer clean and relearning my driving style.to this date, transmission still acts the same.recently on 4 occasions, i've notice a severe lag when entering the high from a stopped position.if i'm entering the highway either from a stop sign, especially on an incline, the transmission slips before the transmission catches and there is no acceleration until the turbo spools up enough.same goes for passing or making an evasive action to avoid.extreme lag in the throttle for at least 2-3 seconds before the truck responds.i'm sure that this in not your first complaint with this type of vehicle and it is very unsafe to say the least. I am requesting nhtsa to look into this matter and similar complaints

Red hydraulic fluid in brake system cause brake failure, which cause me to cause minor damage to a brake line. Dealer has had vehicle for over 2 months, claim vehicle doesn't qualify for recall that states similar issues as v98 which is for 2019 dodge ram 3500s , also says parts are on restrictions do to recall and can not repair my vehicle do to this.

My abs on my brakes keep going out on my truck and i have 2 2019 ram trucks and it did it on both of them and i have some friends that have 2019 and 2020 rams that's doing the same thing should it be a recall on this before someone get kill?

The contact owns a 2019 ram 3500. While driving 65 mph, the steering wheel started to pull to the right without warning. The vehicle was taken to landmark dodge chrysler jeep ram (6850 mt zion blvd, morrow, ga 30260, (770) 968-4900) where it was diagnosed that an alignment was needed. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and did not assist. The failure mileage was approximately 40.

Since purchase brand new, a pop could be heard when moving the steering wheel right or left.happened mainly at a stop or after slowing to turn.the frequency has increase and the pop sound can be felt and heard when stopped, standing and simply moving the steering wheel slightly right or left.

Two main issues that are causing a lot of concern. 1) the hood shakes to the point that it will weaken over time and looks like at times the hood will come off. It's severely concerning. The fix was to adjust the hood stops. This only lifted the hood more breaking the seal around the hood with major air gaps this happens at highway speeds and in heavy winds. 2) the front end makes a loud audible clunk. We have replaced cab mounts, checked the suspension components and the issue is still there. Something is certainly making contact and overtime will wear out. This happens on off camber turns or off camber approach and departures (slow speeds. Think of going into a parking lot or pulling out of a driveway).

Hood is shaking at highway speeds between 65-80mph.it appears the left and right sides of the hood are lifting in the wind.afraid that hood could blow open in severe winds.hood can be lifted with fingers when at rest while still latched.

Excessive hood flutter/movement/ as if hood became unsecured during highway operation. Pulled over on several occasions to ensure hood didn't become unmatched. Only a matter of time before a serious accident where hood opens at highway speed.

Truck has 2500 miles and has a cab leak in the roof drips water onto dash and runs down drivers door piler, bottom door hindge has rust on back side bleeding threw, took kick panel off and took pictures off inner full of rust

My truck has a safety recall 20v-207, which is the manufacturer recall number w54. The recall is incomplete because the manufacture and dealers cannot get the parts to perform the recall. I have made two appointments, weeks in advance for the recall. My truck has been to the dealer twice and the recall has not been done. "parts are ordered." i have also contacted another dealer who does not have the parts.currently, the recall status is: recall incomplete. How many weeks or months does the manufacture have to manufacture the replacement parts?the photo below is paperwork from the 2nd appointment.

After having this truck in the service department 7 times for an issue with the auto level rear air suspension and still not having the issue solved i firmly believe that after this incident occurred that someone is going to be seriously hurt or killed. On february 18, 2020 i was driving 70mph down a 6-7% downgrade while pulling a 25ft big tex flatbed trailer unloaded weighing 5,800 pounds when out of no where it decided to switch itself out of alternate trailer height to normal right height. It scared the living daylights out of me. Not knowing if the entire system was going to fail and potentially blowout taking out my brake lines along with it. Like i already stated i have had this truck in the service department 7 times for this issue and not one person can figure out what is wrong with the truck. I have requested the dealership where i purchased it from to re-purchase it but the firmly denied that. I have also requested that the fca us llc re-purchase this truck due to my state lemon law but they as well firmly denied a re-purchase.

Driver statement:ā€œi was trying to make a turn from pine brook rd into peace valley rd and the person coming from peace valley rd was invading my lane, so i tried to avoid him and hit a tree. I was unconscious for an unknown amount of time. When i woke up i saw smoke and i tried to remove my seat belt. It wasnā€™t coming off at first but then i figured out how to remove it. As i left the vehicle, i was feeling light headed and dizzy. And wanted to lay on the road. Someone came for my rescue and i saw fire underneath the van. So i told him that we should move away from the van. The van caught on fire and i was taken to the hospital."
