I was traveling w/b on i-78 approximately 45 mph(in a snow storm),and i was trying to pass a tractor -trailer.when i was about 150ft from his trailer, their tractorproceeded to jack-knife in front of me.he thencame to rest along the jersey barrier wall(tractor facing east bound in west bound lanes and trailer facing north/south across interstate) , and i went into a skid and hit their front end at about 35mph. Upon impact i pushed him off the wall and spun him in a 100 degree rotation,so he was facing w/b off the shoulder and the trailer was partially in the right lane of the w/b lanes. I came to rest after impact about 200 feet away from impact area. None of my airbags deployed at all. I also had my trailer attached(gooseneck) w 8 motorcycles inside total weight(14k) adding inertia force and speed. When i looked at the damage to my truck and trailer,i was surprised the air bags didn't go off i could see the radius arm(suspension piece that holds the axle to the frame)on the drivers side was bent .the sleeve for my gooseneck trailer was bent roughly 3/4-1" ( the sleeve is 4" diameter tube and 1/4" thick).i did not see the damage of their vehicle but was told it had to be towed from the scene.this all took place at night 10:45pm roughly and it was unsafe to walk around due to it being on theinterstate and snowing .i am glad this did not happen on dry pavement or i hit the center of the trailer, because this could have more severe. I am just very surprised again the airbags never deployed with the amount of force on impact between my truck and trailer hitting the other vehicles.

The contact owns a 2016 ram 3500. The contact stated that the air bag indicator periodically illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the contact was informed that the failure was within the driver's side air bag. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer for diagnostic testing or repairs. Northpoint chrysler dodge jeep ram (4441 us-5, derby, vt 05829, (802) 334-3179) and midstate chrysler dodge jeep ram (1365 us-302, barre, vt 05641, (802) 479-0586) were contacted and informed the contact that the vehicle needed to be diagnosed and the repair would be paid at the contact's expense. The manufacturer was contacted and stated that there was no extended warranty on the vehicle for the failure. The failure mileage was 62,000.

Involved in a front end, and driver side collision at a speed over 50mph, and the airbags didn't deploy. The vehicle also caught fire, there was a mini explosion. The vehicle had to be towed. I contacted chrysler, but they have not done anything, about this matter.

The contact owned a 2016 ram 3500. While the contact was pulling into the parking lot at his job, he crashed into a concrete barrier due to foggy conditions. The barrier had no bright paint or reflectors and was not visible through the fog. The motor tore through the vehicle's frame. The air bags did not deploy. The contact suffered a bruised leg and a separated shoulder. The passenger sustained a headache and head pains. Medical attention was not received. A police report was filed. The contact's insurance company deemed the vehicle totaled. The vehicle was taken to five star jeep, ram, dodge, chrysler (3068 riverside dr, macon, ga 31210, (478) 287-1907), but was not diagnosed. The failure mileage was 99,125. *dt *dt *dt

Ran into the rear end of 18 wheeler dead stopped in middle of road driving at a speed of 40 - 45 mph . My airbags did not deploy yet the complete front end of truck was bashed in and probably totaled.

My 2016 ram 3500 drw limited leans to the right approximately 3/4 inch. When i place my truck camper on top, the passenger side air bag/sensor does not rise equally with the left. As a result, i am driving down the road with an approximate 2 inch lean to the right. I did not notice the truck leans to the right until i purchased a truck camper 3 months ago. I took it to ram, they put it on a computer to try and adjust the settings. It did not work. Apparently, only a few ram mechanics in the us understand the system and can fix my issue. I'm more than happy to go anywhere to fix my issue. Apparently, there is no technical bulletin to fix my issue. I understand placing a camper on top of the truck is a modification to the truck. But, these trucks are marketed by ram to support the rv industry. So, they should be able to get my rear calibrated close to zero. Why can't ram work with the local dealer to fix my issue. I do not feel safe driving on the road with the truck leaning to right at 13,495 lbs gvw. (gvwr=14k). Can you help to connect with ram to ask them to help fix my issue?

The contact owns a 2016 dodge ram 3500. While driving at an unknown speed, the speedometer failed to display the proper mileage without warning. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 1,060.

Rear drivers window falls down without the switch being activated.

On 1/17/2017 i took my 2016 ram 3500 into the selling dealer service department (dwayne lane's everett, wa) to check for the cause of a "check trailer wiring" visual and audible warning which had been present intermittently with brake pedal application since shortly after purchase of the vehicle (new). When present, the defect would occur if the vehicle was stationary or in motion, particularly in damp road conditions.the dealership said that, because of the presence of non-factory options, they would not work on the vehicle until it was returned to stock condition (magnuson-moss warranty act violation) based on the advice of chrysler/fca.i then took the vehicle to the dealer who installed the camper wiring, where it was discovered the the blue wire from the brake controller to the factory installed 7-prong plug was installed incorrectly at the ram factory, causing the fault code and a potential malfunction of the trailer brake system.should the brakes on a towed vehicle malfunctioned in operation, there is the very real possibility of loss of control, injury or death to occupants and bystanders.i have video of the fault taking place but the files are too large to attach to this email.

The contact owns a 2016 ram 3500. After towing a fifth wheel trailer for approximately five hours, the vehicle failed to immediately restart after being shut off and in the park position. The vehicle was towed to an unknown dealer who was unable to duplicate the failure. The contact later heard a loud booming sound coming from the rear of the vehicle before failing to drive forward. A software update was performed on the electronic transmission control module, but the failure continued. The manufacturer and dealer (stafford dodge located in fredricksburg, virginia) were notified of the failures. The failure mileage was 10,000.

The contact owns a 2016 dodge ram 3500. While driving 30 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. In addition, water leaked from the sun roof which caused the vehicle to have electrical issues. The vehicle was taken to be repaired, but the issue recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was 9,000.

The integrated trailer break controller does not stop a heavy trailer properly. Tests have shown that when the break is applied the controller only sends 7volts to the trailer breaks. Adjusting the gain to the maximum 10 setting has no affect. The dealer and chrysler say the system is working as it is programmed to.it is difficult to stop the truck and trailer in a reasonable distance. Chrysler needs to come up with a fix for this problem before some one is seriously hurt or killed.

On the screen it comes up (not all the time) it comes up service electronic braking system and check trailer brakes( no trailer) & exhaust brake and the cruise control will come out. I have had my truck into larry miller in boise 3-4 times for this problem they say they cannot fix it because it is not doing it then. It was doing it one day i stopped at petersen dealership and they did a print out with what it is doing but said they couldn't fix it because i bought truck at larry miller. So i took the read out to larry miller they said it's not doing it now so sorry can't fix it! the truck has 32,000 miles and has been doing this for about 2 years, the truck is 3 years old. Also, i have had 5 recalls in 3 years i have no faith in this truck. I feel larry miller is not interested and will not work with me to fix this truck. I have the printout with all the problems that are happening if you want to see them?

From day 1 the truck has had very poor throttle response. The big problem is on take off. The truck has a dead pedal with a delay of 3 to 5 seconds before the truck will accelerate. This can make for some dangerous situations. In looking for a solution to this problem i have found there is a huge number of owners complaining of the same thing. It seems chryslers response has been to ignore the complaints and not look into a solution

The contact owns a 2016 ram 3500. The dealer (don franklin somerset chrysler dodge jeep ram nissan, 1147 s highway 27, somerset, ky 42501, (606) 678-8178) scheduled the recall repair appointment for nhtsa campaign numbers: 17v562000 (engine and engine cooling) and 17v821000 (power train). When the contact arrived for the appointment, the dealer indicated that the parts were unavailable for the recall repairs. The contact was uncertain as to when the vehicle would be repaired. 2016 dodge ram 3500. Consumer writes in regards to water pump failure. *ld

Significant lag in engine response when accelerating from dead stop.delay is approx 3-4 seconds from time accelerator pedal is depressed until truck responds.

The contact owns a 2016 ram 3500. The contact received a recall notice for nhtsa campaign number: 18e096000 (steering). The contact took the vehicle to humes chrysler jeep dodge & ram (1010 route 19 north, waterford, pa 16441, (888) 571-5737) where the recall repair was performed. The vehicle was returned to the contact. A few months later, the vehicle needed the outer tie rod replaced and a front end alignment. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic and was informed that, due to a welding that had been performed on the vehicle from the recall repair, the vehicle could not be repaired. The manufacturer was notified and stated that the welding was an approved repair by nhtsa and he would need to contact nhtsa for more information. The vin was unknown. The contact had not experienced a failure. *tp

Dead pedal. From a dead stop if you stab the accelerator pedal as in a emergency situation there is a 2-3 second delay before power is applied to the drivetrain. I feel this is a very dangerous situation and ram should have to reprogram these trucks to apply power when called for by the accelerator pedal. This has occured since new

Delayed throttle response.also fumes in cab.

My truck, with the aisin transmission and single rear wheel, has a horrible throttle delay. Pulling out into an intersection or in front of oncoming traffic is terrifying, because if the delay kicks in, i can put the pedal down and the truck will literally not react for 3-5 seconds. This is also true when trying to accelerate to pass on the highway, avoid another vehicle, etc.it's like the throttle pedal doesn't know you're pushing it for quite a few seconds, and then and only then it will react. This is extremely dangerous, and i've had quite a few situations where i've been pulling out across traffic from a stop sign, thinking i had plenty of time in front of oncoming traffic, only for my truck to be dead in the water. No throttle response, nothing. I've almost been hit many times because of this. Ram will not help, and states that my problem is not there. I assure you it is, and based on the number of forum posts i see of people with the same issue, it's definitely out there. I wish i could get out of this truck but can't afford to take such a huge loss on it. It's extremely unsafe and stressful to drive.

Took vehicle in to john hiester in lillington nc. They inform \s of two life ththreatening recalls that has no fix. We are fearful of driving due to recalls. Howver we love our dodge. Please help. We have byt tru k in shop twice for engine and transmission not going in gear and turbo problems. Now recalls constant of water pump and transmission which we had to pay for before

Nhtsa recall number: 17v-562.the description provided in the notice reads:"a water pump failure resulting in an engine compartment fire can cause the vehicle to crash without prior warning increasing the risk of injury to motor vehicle occupants or persons outside the vehicle."i contacted the dealer where i purchased the vehicle, tate branch dodge in carlsbad, nm on 11/21/2017.they stated that nothing can be done, even after i asked if i just have to hope that the vehicle doesn't catch on fire, to which they said, "yes".also, the vehicle has an occasional "lull" with the accelerator which leads to extreme loss of power when accelerating.this has almost caused several accidents with myself and my wife.i have an appointment on dec. 14th to have the problem looked at for the second time.

Daily occurrence. While dead stopped at light or idling along after lifting foot off of brake pedal, then slowly depressing accelerator pedal, there is a 2-4 second delay before truck starts to accelerate. Feels like a dead pedal. This has become worse as the truck accrues miles. When needing to accelerate quickly, the pedal response is slow to respond and has caused many anxious moments with vehicles bearing down on my rear end. I press the pedal and wait for engine to respond. The truck is a diesel and it does not feel like turbo lag. I had a 2007 diesel and this was not a problem at all. I feel that eventually this will cause or lead me to have an accident of some type. Every time i drive the truck i have to make allowances for the lack of pedal response, mostly in city, slow and go driving. On the highway at higher speeds this problem does not seem to be such an issue. I believe that ram needs to address this with some type of reprogramming for the engine, drive-train or both. This type of pedal non-response is very dangerous and quite disturbing. The dealers have no answer to this problem.

Either chrysler gets these parts to the dealership for repair or they need to buy back this vehicle and get us into a truck that has no recalls that can cause death.

There is an extreme delay when pressing the accelerator and actual acceleration of the vehicle. There seems to be no correlation between how far the accelerator is pressed and vehicle acceleration. When merging into traffic and especially when pulling out into traffic or passing a vehicle. This delay is a severe safety problem. There is a 2-3 second delay between pressing the accelerator and the vehicle actually moving.

The contact owns a 2016 ram 3500. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 17v562000 (engine and engine cooling); however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. Auto nation dodge in centennial, colorado was made aware of the recall and stated that the part was unavailable. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact owns a 2016 ram 3500. While driving various speeds, there was excessive exhaust fumes entering the cabin of the vehicle from the engine and through the firewall. The vehicle was taken to larry h. Miller chrysler jeep dodge ram boise (located at 222 s. Auto drive, boise, id 83709) to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that it was acceptable for some exhaust fumes to enter the cabin of the vehicle. It was also suggested by the service adviser to have the windows down while operating the vehicle, but the contact found that to be unacceptable. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the issue on two occasions and the contact received case numbers: 31719201 and 31501985. The approximate failure mileage was 3,000. Updated 08/22/17*lj

When pulling gooseneck trailer the marker lights go out on the bed and cab of this truck.the dealers say there is no issue, this happens with every gooseneck trailer pulled by this vehicle.the research i have managed to find states the wires on the passenger side become pinched causing a fuse to blow.without side marker lights, the vehicle is difficult to see at night.the first time it happened truck was at a dealer for unrelated issue, they replaced the fuse.hooked back to the trailer, lights went out within 15 minutes.as we were heading home(900miles) waited until we were home to discuss issue with a second service dealer.they also replaced the fuse, stating they could not see an issue.fast forward two months.hooked to a different gooseneck trailer.no marker lights. No cab lights.once again fuse blew.we replaced fuse.have not pulled since, but are planning to pull gooseneck trailer within the next month.

The contact owns a 2016 ram 3500. While driving 70 mph, both headlights failed to operate. The contact had to activate the high beam headlights. The contact also stated that the split tailgate doors were fractured. The vehicle was taken to folsom lake chrysler dodge jeep ram (12545 folsom blvd, folsom, ca 95630, 916-520-1135) where it was diagnosed that the light harness failed and the door latches needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and stated that the contact would be responsible for the repair cost. The failure mileage was approximately 158,000.

The def pump stop working never had a maintenance light to come on until the truck reach about 76000 miles at that time the system was out of warranty and the pump was no good i was on my way back from new york when it indicated that it was going to slow down to 5mile per hour for 145mile but it did not do it.

When accelerating from a full stop, the truck accelerates for less than one second. After the short burst of acceleration, it stops even though the accelerator pedal position has not changed.there is now zero acceleration for one to three seconds, leaving the truck in a potentially dangerous position.the acceleration comes back within one to three seconds and the truck drives normally after that.when you come to a full stop at a stop light or stop sign, the behavior repeats and the delay seems to decrease as the truck 'warms up'. This behavior was verified by two drivers and multiple technicians at a local dealership who are unable to identify the cause of the problem but recognize the potential danger that can be caused by the problem.the dealer has had the truck for almost one month trying to solve and continue to verify the existence and danger associated with the issue.chrysler's star team has also been working with the dealership for the entire month and a root cause has still not been identified.

2016 3500 cummins turbo diesel with aisin automatic transmission and 342 gear ratio has sluggish acceleration and what seems to be an unresponsive throttle and what seems to be called a dead pedal or torque management system, maybe to help fuel economy to meet government guide lines. Dealer says it's "normal" according to good brothers dodge weymouth ma. Pulling out into traffic i feel i will get into a rear end collision since truck will notaccelerate like every other vehicle when you step on the go pedal. Please help protect my kids.

The def tank suddenly read empty and it was over 3/4 full it began to countdown the warning of reduced speed in 200 miles i was driving between ca and az at night .i was over 250 from any town driving at 65 it suddenly slowed to 5 mph.this caused vehicles to swerve around me and brake.i understand you don't want people not to use def but for safety the vehicle should at least be able to keep the min freeway speed of 55.then upon restart idle only for cold environmentsituations.

Installed a northern tool gravity fed auxiliary diesel fuel tank for diesel truck. Worked great for almost a year.all of a sudden when coming to a stop, noticed diesel fuel pouring out of filler tube. The 2016 ram 3500 diesel does not come with a fuel cap and relies on valve in filler tube to prevent fuel coming up, usually in a warm day situation. With weakened valve, and using gravity fed auxiliary fuel tank, ram truck can create safety and environmental hazard. The only way to eliminate hazard with fuel in auxiliary tank is to manually turn off valve on auxiliary tank. It is very common to have auxiliary fuel tank on 1 ton heavy truck. I would like to see ram go back to fuel cap or redesign current valve.

The contact owns a 2016 ram 3500. The contact stated that the gear shift indepedently shifted from the park position to the drive position without warning. As a result, the vehicle began to roll forward. The driver was dragged until the vehicle crashed into a fence. The driver sustained lacerations on the body that required medical attention. A police report was not filed. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where the technician stated that the failure was a driver's error and unable to be duplicated. The contact mentioned that the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the brake shift interlock failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 66,180.

Brand new vehicle with less than 1,000 miles on it has a violent shake at highway speeds between 62-72 mph. Three different ram dealers and ram customer support team states that there is nothing wrong with the vehicle and it's operating as designed. Potentially a safety issue as the shake seems to make the truck unstable at times. This is occurring specifically on smooth highways and seems to be even worse around curves. Seems to be a fairly common issue among late model year ram heavy duty pickup trucks and should be worth an investigation. I purchased this vehicle to tow my travel trailer with my entire family in the truck and i'm not comfortable doing that with this defect.

When accelerating from a dead stop the engine has a 3 to 4 second lag. Normal response resumes after the initial lag.this condition has been consistant throughout2016.truck was purchased new.present mileage is 4500.

Truck is burning through a quart and half of oil every 1000 miles it appears, but there are no leaks under the vehicle or on the oil pan. Appears to be an issue with the turbo seals. The truck give no warning that the oil is low while driving. When low it does not show up on the dipstick at all.

The contact owns a 2016 ram 3500. The contact stated that after starting the vehicle with the brake pedal depressed, while attempting to shift into gear, the gear shifter handle fractured. The cause of the failure was not determined. The local dealer was contacted, and the part was replaced by the contact. The vehicle was later serviced under the nhtsa campaign number: 17v821000 (power train). The contact indicated that an addendum card was to be given as part of the recall repair with instructions to drivers on how to shift gears when the brake pedal was depressed however, the card was not given. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer would supply the card. The failure mileage was 55,390.

We have several ram 3500 vehicles. All the rearend fail way beyond the time that they should be in service. These units fail with less than 200,000 miles and should go well beyond that mileage. I feel these units have a on going issues that the mfg knows about but fails to do a recall to fix the issues. These same issues have occurred in our 2012, 2014 and 2016 models. This is all a safety issue should these rear ends come apart while towing a load.

The contact owns a 2016 ram 3500. The contact stated that the gear shifter detached while shifting out of park. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing. The contact stated that the vehicle was previously repaired under nhtsa campaign numbers: 16v495000 (power train) and 17v821000 (power train) at tacoma dodge chrysler jeep ram (4101 s. Tacoma way, tacoma, wa 98409) however, the repairs failed to fix or prevent the failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 20,799.

I was told by dealer and chrysler that this is only on the 3500 ram . The seat belt warning light and the air bar light does not give any warnings when passenger person sits in the seat. That no chime will notify if seat belt is unhook only in passenger seat. I can't even put this part in my vehicle because no # for it. This to me is a safety item that should be in vehicle. The driver seat works ok just the passenger seat.

I had a brake fault in my 2016 ram 3500 about a month ago. While pulling into a 150ft long driveway about 8inch of snow in 4 lo i pulled in the driveway at about 10mph or sojust to keep momentum into the driveway as the snow plow had blocked the driveway with a little snow. I let off the gas peddle at about 100ft left of the driveway rolled for about 10-20 ft theb started to try ro apply the brake peddle but was unable to get the brake peddle to move or get any braking power tapped the brakes a couple still nothing. I then stood on the brake peddle (i weight 240lbs) to try to get some braking power at all at this point and i am getting close to the home. At about 5ft and about 5mph be4 the home the brake peddle finally depleted and gave me braking power but by this time it was too late went into the home and wrecked my new truck. I grew up here and driving in the snow! have never felt a vehicle do this, i am a professional driver and drive for work have no accidents on my record and now this! my wife has had issues with the brake system in it was well almost rear ended someone with my two kids bother in law and mother in law in the vehicle as well. There is a problem with the brake system in my new truck and dodge wont take responsibility or action.

Master cylinder failure. Luckily did not have an accident.complete braking failure while moving on a flat surfaceno warnings. Bay dodge in panama city, fl has been performing oil changes and servicing on a regular basis and noted no issues. Replaced master cylinder at bob pforte dodge in marianna.

Oem trailer brake controller barely works.tried with all 4 settings (trailer towing should have needed "electric heavy" setting)had to turn the gain all the way up to get the brakes to engage, pulling an empty trailer.should be able to completely lock the trailer brakes on setting 10 for gain. Trailer brakes are adjusted correctly and aftermarket brake controller works fine with that trailer.

On may 25 we experienced catastrophic brake failure while backing our new 2016 5th wheel trailer into our driveway. This included backing down our hill and turning to the right into our driveway.the road we live on is a private road. After the incident it was determined that the brake booster retaining clip was either not installed or was missing causing the brake pedal assembly to come apart from the "brake" booster arm which resulted in our inability to operate the brakes of our pickup or 2016 trailer.this incident caused over $18000 in damage to the trailer and our property.the incident was reported to fiat chrysler automobile who investigated.they reported that upon "review the inspection report ..."," we are not led to believe that the incident was due to a manufacturing responsibility.therfore we must respectfully decline any assistance with this incident."as a result of this incident we have not had this vehicle for the past 2.5 weeks but most of all are shocked at their response.we have noted that chrysler had recalled over 24,000 vehicles including ram trucks between 2010 and 2013 for the exact same issue.hopefully this will spur some action on this issue.

I was driving on the freeway with my trailer loaded when the steering wheel stopped controlling the direction of the vehicle. This concerns your #v06/nhsta 19v-021.the fix fca is doing for the defective track is some cheap welding of the lock nuts that come loose, instead of replacing the track bar with a proven design and which is readily available from both fca and aftermarket suppliers.it is a poor solution to a serious problem which puts myself, my family and others on thew same road at risk. Please help.....

Wolfchase dodge dealership in bartlett, tn tells me it will about two months before they will have the parts to fix my steering linkage problems on my 2016 dodge ram 3500 laramie.

1st alignment and tire rotation @1800miles "toe set", another rotate then off set ball joint because it developed a "pull" and "climbed crown", 3rd rotation, was told no more alignment available within specs, 3,800 miles needs rotation due to outer tire wear, shimmy on minor road imperfections has just began. Front tires get hot and over inflate, tire manufacture concerned, lowered pressure #10 below manufacture press specs and they increase above #85 spec and are hot. Networking with other owners and after market front end mechanics discovering dodge has a front end problem redesigned in 17. Chrysler repair facility has informed me that they dodge has a problem with front end, but don't have a fix. The tire wear is highway mileage and no loads, no weight. Taking to 3rd party to read alignment specs and inspect.

Fca and the dealer refuses to verify the safety of my truck.i brought my truck to the dealer for recall nhtsa 19v-021 (drag link).i told the dealer i wanted them to inspect the drag link nuts to insure they weren't coming off.i also said i didn't want the nuts welded to the drag link.welding the nuts would prevent adjustment when aligning the truck in the future.the dealer said they would cut off the welds when doing the alignment.unfortunately this would force me to return to the dealer, which is almost an hour away, and would prevent me from getting an alignment at any normal shop.this is forcing me to pay more money for any future alignment.the dealer refused to inspect the truck. He said that the only way they would look at the drag link was if they performed the entire recall, including welding the nuts. I asked if i let them weld the nuts would they replace the drag link at a later time when the new part became available, they said no.i am now driving a truck that i do not know the safety of because of the defective drag link. I called fca and opened a case (number available). Fca told me this was up to the dealer. Why do i have to accept a non-standard solution to a problem that will not get me a new, upgraded part, and will cost me more money in the future through no fault of my own?

Gentlemen, this complaint is in regards to the current v06 recall that affects ram heavy duty trucks. The current fix of welding components of the steering system by uncertified people in an uncontrolled environment is somewhat concerning. I have not had this done to my truck based on the high number of owners describing some of their results done by the dealer. I will include a couple of example photos. Not only is the welding of components very inconsistent, it changes the molecular structure of the components involved. It also renders the ability to correctly do a front end alignment impossible without major modifications has a new and improved drag link (#cszhv061aa) that is available but is very reluctant in swapping these out. I would greatly appreciate an investigation on the results of this current fix and long term issues to owners. The trucks are capable and designed to tow massive amounts of weight and do so on a daily basis. All the more reason to fix it right before more accidents happen.thanks! concerned!! When driving down road constantly make adjustments to right and or steering wheel being held to or around 1 or 2 o'clock position just to go straight. When steering to left steering wheel is tighter then when steering to right. Steering box needs replaced and or rebuilt. Truck only has alittle over 60000 miles on it. Constantly chasing steering when driving down road. City streets and left lane of highways its extremely noticable. Had truck aligned and alignment shop says alignment is dead on. After reading multiple and multiple forums and other information online, this is a extremely common problem with these trucks yet no recall to fix. Red head is a company that rebuilds/upgrades these steering boxes, but the cost with shipping is around $800. Chrysler seems to deny there is a problem with the stock steering boxes on the ram 2500/3500 trucks, there are thousands and thousands of people that are having the same issue yet no recall to fix the problem.

Jam nuts on drag link adjuster keep loosening. Ram has issued a junk fix by welding the nuts to adjuster sleeve. Welding on my truck is not acceptable. I want a replacement part, not a weld fix. Safety recall v06 / nhtsa 19v-021 drag link

Steering is failing. Steers like a boat. Looses control in turns. Over adjustment and correction must be done to maintain course. Same issue occurred in a dodge challenger.

I applaud your work in holding automakers accountable and responsible for fixing vehicle safety issues.however, my vehicle was recalled for v06/nhtsa 19v-021 (steering system recall).rather that providing new parts for the defective parts, ram states that nhtsa has approved welding the steering jam nuts to the adjuster.the dealer submitted a star case (#101582875) to have repair parts provided which was denied, based on nhtsa approval of welding.also, called ram care (case # 68052515) they refused to provide repair parts and directed me to contact their fca hqs via standard mail.it is appalling to me that we have heavy duty trucks on the road that cost over $60k and rather that requiring ram to replace defective parts, we allow them to weld parts.most of these heavy duty trucks are used to haul heavy trailers.welds if not done properly weaken metal and can break under stress.additionally, this fix (welding) renders steering system adjustments inoperable without grinding the weld adjusting the steering and re-welding the part all of which damages and stresses the critical existing steering parts.request that nhtsa require ram to replace the defective steering parts and not allow a jam nut to the adjuster weld as a permanent fix to the steering safety recall.thanks

I received a recall notice #v06/nhtsa19v-021 in the mail, so i went out to inspect the drag link on my 2016 ram 3500 and noticed that the lower jam nut had backed off the threads about a 1/4" in. Contacted the dealer to see when they would be able to fix this issue and was told to call back in a few weeks. And i spoke to the service adviser to see what the fix was going to be and was told that they would tighten the jam nut and weld nut to the sleeve. I have been a welder for over 30 years at the psns in bremerton, wa.. If you do not know the material type and weld filler material type it could cause a failure of the weld and the material that it is welded to. Also, anytime you weld something the heat affected zone is a weak spot. I don't think this correct fix due to it being a steering component. *dt

Ram dealer service dept. After completing a steering drag link recall service reported after test drive a shimmy /shake in steering wheel starting at vehicle speed of approx. 20 mph. Diagnosis as a faulty steering damper, replaced damper and returned vehicle to customer. Customer returned next day reportingbad shimmy, was told vehicle would need to be scheduled for another service visit and allowed to leaving without service dept inspecting vehicle. Customer returned approximately 2 weeks later insisting service writer test ride vehicle, vehicle was inspected and determined to have belt separation in driver side front tire. Tire was removed and replaced with spare tire. Defective tire is with vehicle owner. Ram 3500 dual rear wheel, nexen 235/80 r17 roadian at pro 8, 28,300 mile. Original tires, original owner rotated once at approx 18,000 miles

This is the 5th ram truck i purchase. I use them for work. All of the units have short life span on tires. Some have deep thread but have bubbles on tires. I have had some tires that won't last 20000 miles. They will probably blowout if i keep driving them like this. Tires are very poor quality.

When using remote unlock fob. Causes the tailgate to fall open at intermittent times. When sitting still or driving down the road.

I bought this 2016 ram 3500 brand new in april 2016. I now have 9600 miles on it and the right front tire separated. The left front is going to do the same thing. The tire dot code is 2215. These tires were almost a year old when i bought the truck. I want to know if there are any rules and regulations on sellingvehicles with tire one year old. I was on the freeway doing 70 mph.

There is an extreme delay when pressing the accelerator and actual acceleration of the vehicle.there seems to be no correlation between how far the accelerator is pressed and vehicle acceleration.when merging into traffic and especially when pulling out into traffic, this delay is a severe safety problem. There are times that a 2-3 second delay is experienced between pressing the accelerator and the vehicle actually moving.

Vehicle was purchased new with the manual single zone heating ventilation and air conditioning system (hvac). The vehicle constantly defaults to recirculate air mode regardless of the recirculate mode being turned off. You can tell the system is in recirc mode with the recirc light off by the increased fan noise. The system also defaults to recirc mode when the system is off. I have duplicated the defect to dealership personnel on three different occasions who attempted to repair the system to no avail. They then duplicated the event in a 2018 model ram pickup with the same manual hvac system. After this i was advised it was a design defect and there was nothing further they could do. I believe this is a safety defect which could under certain circumstances allow a dangerous buildup of carbon monoxide inside the vehicle. The operator has no way of knowing that they are not getting fresh outside air into the vehicle because the recirc light is off when this occurs. This happens when the vehicle is both stationary or moving.

The truck seats are vibrating really bad at 60 to 70 mph. The truck was bought new in nc . I drove it home to fl and took it to the local dealer , they balance the firestone tires and it improved a little every 5000 i had to rotate or my teeth would start to chatter. I installed michelin tire no improvement. The tire are wearing even, no vibration in the steering wheel , this a transmission / transfer case / drive shaft or rear end issue.

Involved in a front end, and driver side collision at a speed over 50mph, and the airbags didn't deploy. The vehicle also caught fire, there was a mini explosion. The vehicle had to be towed. I contacted chrysler, but they have not done anything, about this matter.

Vehicle fails to move when you depress the accelerator pedal. From a dead stop to pull out into traffic it doesn't move at all for approximately 5 to 10 seconds. It is worse when towing a load. It is also slow to respond when driving at speed. It is extremely dangerous!!!!

The contact owns a 2016 dodge ram 3500. While driving at an unknown speed, the speedometer failed to display the proper mileage without warning. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 1,060.

On 8/21/2019 i experienced excessive vibration & truck pulling to the right traveling normal hwy speed. Issue was so severe, i stopped to check. Tires looked fine& pressures were ok.return trip was worse with max speed of 35mph. Next day i took the truck to an independent tire center & was told that the belts inthe front tires were separating. Tires are nexen roadian htx lt235/80/r17.they are original tires with only 8,010 miles on them. I contacted ram thru their website. Got no response. Emailedthe dealership where i boughtthe truck. No response. I called nexen & was toldthat the warranty only covered tread wear. They were not concerned about the separation.they emailed a packet of information that they would need to investigate my issue. They also advised me to change the tires asap because once i notified them of the problem, they were not responsible for any damages or injuries.i called the nearest ram dealership and asked if they could check it out. The best they could do was schedule an appt in two weeks. Since i could not safely drive the truck, i replaced all six nexen tires on 8/27/2019 at a cost of over $1,800. That tire center also confirmed a problem with the tires. I finally heard from fca. They created a case # and asked that i make an appt at a dealership so they could investigate. I assumed fca was going to contact the dealership since they ask for the appt info. Drove 60 miles to the dealership where we bought the truck. They knew nothing about the issue. Fca did not contact them. In fact they closed my case as soon as they confirmed the appt. Bottomline, these tires are dangerous. There are multiple complaints on the various forums for tires and trucks. Ram doesn't care. Fiatchrysler doesn't care. Nexen doesn't care. I'm hoping you do. I've driven lots of vehicles in my time, i was scared driving on those tires and lucky to get home.

I bought2017 ram 3500 in january 2017 as a new car. After1300 ml i bought after market wheels and tiresfrom discount tire. They did installed them and checked them after. Car drow almost four thousand ml did not have any problems at all. Last weekend front passenger side wheel came off while traveling at 80 miles per hour on the freeway. No single sine that anything was wrong whith a car before the incident, all eight studs were broke off whithin a split second, tire was lost. I notified dealer and a tire company and wheel manufactur about this incident to investigate . Each company blames others. I'm personally believe that problem defected studs or wheel. I asked discount tire and car manufactur to investigate, nothing done yet.

Purchased the vehicle new in 2016. No heavy towing. Air pressure and tire rotations were current, managed by rancho ram san diego, ca and discount tire in rancho san diego. Vehicle was equipped from the factory with 6 all season nexan tires. During a recent trip to tx all 6 nexan 235/80/17 tires separated in different locations across the tread. Limped through the night at 55 mph from ft stockton tx to corpus christi, tx. Had to replace all 6 nexan tires at discount tires store located at 6654 s. Staples st. Service advisor stated 'this is the worst case he had seen with this brand. Replaced with bfg commercial t/a as 2. I am not happy with the tire choice the factory choose, as my 2004 ram 2500 came oem with michelin's that lasted 6 years before cracking.

2016 dodge ram 3500 laramie longhorn dually -original tires that came on vehicle nexen htx lt235/80r17e bsw all season tires.safety concern with these tires because the wall on the inside is giving way causing the tire to wobble, which makes your whole truck shake violently when you get to above 50 mph. Cab of truck along with steering wheel making it unsafe due to possible blow out. Tires been rotated on the maintenance schedule. Did not have issue with this until the last tire rotation which these tires came from the back of the truck where we tow a living quarters 3 horse trailer which weighs empty 12500 pounds. Investigation needs to be done on if these tires are adequate for trucks that do heavy towing as it appears not since this is the second tire that has to be replaced due to safety concerns. This could not be determined unless the vehicle was in motion. The vehicle is back at the dealership to replaced this tire. Had them check all tires again to ensure no other ones are defective. A recall needs to be done on these tires as if it were not for my wife taking her vehicle to the dealership for them to check, it would have fone unnoticed until a blow out or possible wreck due to the blow out happen while she was towing her trailer with live stock.

Repetitive tire pressure monitoring system sensor failures. 1 replaced may 2016, 2 replaced november 2016, 1 replaced may 2017, 2 replaced june 2017. Dodge not forthcoming with information on cause and fix. Failures occurred under various conditions, some after sitting over night, some while on the highway, others during a rest stop along a highway.

Cant keep rear hubcaps on vehicle i have lost 2 hubcaps this year. While driving down the highway and if i hit a little bump the rear hubcaps come flying off.

Vibration in front wheel, diagnosed at dealership that the tire has a shifted belt.this tire is on the driver's side.we already replaced the passenger side front tire 2/13/19. This is a dually truck and we are concerned that this will also happen to the 4 rear tires. The vehicle currently only has 21,390 miles.this should not be occurring and is a safety hazard. I tried to contact the manufacturer but they have not returned my calls.

Purchased vehicle new from marshall dodge in oct. 2016. I have just realized that my spare tire is a different size. On the ground i have (4) lt285/60r20e.. And as a spare i have a lt275/70r18e. This is the way the vehicle came from dodge. I do not feel safe if i would have to use the different size spare, especially pulling a 40ft. 5th wheel camper. I have talked to the dealership and fca case management and told that this is normal, and i would not have any problems. My case number is 76379630 . I also feel that would not be good on the transfer case and differential. Could you please advise me on this problem ? is this safe as ram has advised me ?

Cracks are developing along the circumference areabead seat of the tire causing possible tire wheel separation.i was informed by my step son and girlfriend. We haul our horses and thank goodness the truck was at home at the time of notification. I contacted alcoa , and they said they don't make these wheels for the ram 3500 2016. Nexen tires lt235/80-17 at ra8 original equipment with truck at purchase. This truck was purchased in march 2016 new from ram dealer, this truck is a 2016 ram 3500 dually. We have had two tires seperate, other wise belts inside tires broke, we were able to notice an replace before any blow outs accrued. We properly care for our tires due to that our children ride in this truck an also we haul our livestock behind this truck. With one of us working in the tire field we are able to notice the defects before something bad happens most time like blow outs an we know how our truck rides so once it starts to feel funny we inspect! both tires separated in bout a 1000 miles of each other. The truck only had 12400 miles on first tire separation an 11/32 of tread left with the tread starting at 15/32 an tread mileage of 40-50k. This should not have happened. We are in the process of having both tires replaced through either a local dealer of nexen, or nexen themselves as i have tried to contact nexen three times an can't not get through to them or recieve a return call. The second tire had 10/32 left on it, both have separated belts in them we still have 5 more of these tires left due to this being a dually even the spare is the same tire. All with same d.o.t numbers of 8ex61015 so all coming from same batch made 10th week of 2015 hoping we don't have anymore separations but after 2 seperations we will for sure be on our look out even more so. We were driving during both separations of the tires. Our children in the truck during both times also. Very unhappy with these tires! we will continue to work an try to find a replacement solution with nexen, with this being oe tires they should be replaced for free an not prorated but we will see! please do not purchase these tires for your truck or a truck with them until nexen fixes the issues with their tires!

Nexen tires rodian lt hrx 235/80/r17 on a new dodge ram 3500 had 14,000 mi when discovered pin holes in the side wall which cannot be repaired, splittingvisible between the treads and tires continuouslyloosing air. No blow-out has yet occurred resulting in bodily injury. The situation is being brought to your attention since chrysler is assuming no responsibility and the tire manufacturer is being less than cooperative in assuming responsibility for replacement of the defective tires. There are law suits in florida ad complaints filed with california bbb for similar issues with little success.

I purchase a 2016 dodge ram 3500 duall limited with 2k miles on it.the truck has garbage nexan tires on it.nexan claims it is a 40k mile warranty tire.funny though, at 11k miles i had one nexan tire failure due to tread separation.took truck to dealer, dealer got with nexan, working with nexan like 'going to the dentist to get anything done.said they would reimburse me for the tire that failed at 11k miles, that was two months ago still no refund and i call every week looking for my refund.couple months go by and another nexan tire failure at 13k miles.you guessed it another tread seperation.take truck to dealer, they say can't help.call nexan they say you need to ship all 6 tires back so we can test them.im testing them for you and they are crap!two tire failures well under 40k, this is not a coincidence these tires are garbage.i have my wife and daughter who i drive around in a $75k ram dually limited and i am scared for their safety with these failing tires.nexan might as well tell me to go #@$& myself as their customer service against and warranty department are a joke.beware dont buy nexan tires.dodge also should stop putting these garbage tires on their trucks, going to get someone killed.

Tire separation and vibration in all 6 tires.vehicle has 22690 miles on it and has had tire issues since new with vibration and separation of cheap tires dodge has put on these vehicles, that they sell at a high price.driving and made it to my garage when the tire separated.it was the front drivers side tire.thankfully i wasn't doing highway speed.

On january 21, 2020 at 1400 38 miles outside of charlottesville, va on highway 29 driver side rear inside tire tread separated and blew out the tire causing extensive damage to the underside of the truck bed. The speed of the blowout was 45 mph and had to manage parking on the side of the road on an incline in order to change the tire out and remove the metal that was holding the splash guard.
