The contact owns a 2013 dodge ram 3500. The contact received a notification of nhtsa campaign number: 15v460000 (air bags, seat belt); however, the recall part was not available. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was notified of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure.

Service air bag light come on the dic of my 2013 ram 3500.dealer can not fix after 12 trips with chrysler help.when light is on the air bags will not function.could cause injury or death.

Pdc (fuse box) aka tipmhas corrosion or bad internal electrical connections causing wipers to not function and possible air bag failure upon impact

Steering cupling under dash has slack making steering loose and alternator problems truck only has 113609 miles chrysler corp says it's not a problem and more recalls are showing on it driving on open road constantly working steering wheel to keep in straight line on the road city driving is as bad sitting still it has about half inch or more loose play in steering

Our new 2013 ram truck (six weeks) has an electrical short to ground in the drivers door lock switch and module (part # 68110866aa & 68155771af) that are locking the doors by themselves. Dealer assures me that there is "zero" chance of a fire occurring even though there is an electrical short. This must be a common problem, as the parts to fix the issue are on national back order and no estimate of a fix is available. I do not believe there is a zero chance of a fire with an electrical short and have not been parking the vehicle in our garage until this is fixed. This may be something that needs to be looked into with an electrical short occurring.

Had been noticing a shimmy in the front suspension area. The steering wheel would have a very slight vibration after hitting bumps in the road when driving 35mph or greater. This issue has continued for months with several visit to dealership who has been unable to properly identify the problem. The problem has now become a "death wobble" that will shake steering wheel violently and almost shake the entire truck off the road, there have been several more attempt to address the issue with no resolve. Truck is unable to keep alignment, camber and caster is continually off/out of line, and has worn tires unevenly. Have also been experiencing intermittent electrical issues with dash lights flickering, radio lights turning off, electric windows not rolling up or down properly and reverse lights not turning on when engaged.

Our ram 3500 seems to have a wire chafing problem.on 26 june 2014 the truck locked in 4th gear.ecm was replaced in fairbanks at 16490 miles. On 18 july 2014 the same thing happened at 18481 miles, the dealer in soldotna ak found a chafed wire in the wiring loom.on 29 july 2014, the truck completely died, the ecm fuse was blown.the pcm was replaced.on 26 july 2015, the truck completely died again, ecm fuse was blown.mileage was 31421.prestige dodge in longmont co replaced the ecm and then on the test drive the truck locked into 4th gear.they then replaced a portion of the wiring harness to correct a chafed wire.i was recently notified about another wire chafing problem with the airbags.i must wonder if somehow there is a wiring loom problem with this model truck.in all 3 incidents in 2014 we were towing our trailer on paved highways at highway speed and it was fortunate that we were able to get off the road without being in an accident.the event on 26 july 2015 occurred just after we had dropped off the trailer.

The new dodge ram equipped with cummins diesel experience a dead pedal, or pedal delay when pressing the gas pedal 3/4 to full throttle. This poses a serious risk when needing to get out of the way, or move the vehicle under emergency circumstances. This happens under all conditions: stopped, rolling, under acceleration etc. If you push the pedal too far the truck will not respond to operator commands and will take 1.5-2 seconds to start picking up speed. This is a seriously dangerous situation and someone is going to get killed or seriously injured. There is not excuse for a vehicle not responding to driver input. Manufacture claims "turbo lag", this is simply not true. You can build turbo boost, monitored on the vehicle gauge, then press the pedal to the floor, the truck will not respond for 1.5 to 2 seconds. Please look at further information on the cummins forum below, it has numerous articles about this issue. Here as a link to just one of them.http://www.cumminsforum.com/forum/2013-general-discussion/1836593-very-slow-throttle-response.htmlplease, help fix this issue before someone gets hurt or killed due to the inability to move the vehicle out of harms way. This tsb somewhat addresses the problem, but only fixes it partially, not to thepoint that it is safe. Tsb 18-041-15i believe the manufacture knows this is an issue, but is not fixing it due to emissions related programming on the vehicle. There are aftermarket solutions to this problem, however they void the manufacture warranty, and im not willing to lose my warranty on a new vehicle. I will be submitting another one of these for my 2015 as well, since they both have the same issue. Thank you.

The contact owns a 2013 dodge ram 3500. The contact stated that while driving, the abs warning light, traction control warning light and the check engine warning light illuminated sporadically. The contact mentioned that the "abs brakes needs servicing" warning message also illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The technician diagnosed that the rear sensor bumper needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The failure was a recurring issue. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 2,432. Updated 03/24/15*lj

Integrated trailer brake control module fails to provide adequate voltage/amp to safely stop heavy trailers.trailer wiring issues can be ruled out, as brakes operate correctly if trailer hooked to another vehicle.problem affects many vehicles and owners as documented at:http://www.cumminsforum.com/forum/2013-general-discussion/1730945-2013-integrated-trailer-brake-control-problem.htmland also athttp://www.ramforum.com/f119/brake_controller-71708/

The alternator caught on fire. Truck has 62000 miles on it. The batterylow voltage came on. After the truck ran for a minute it went out. I ran the truck for ten minutes.after i parked the truck and went inside i could smell something.when i stepped out my door and looked smoke was rolling out from under the hood.i grabbed the extinguisher and put it out. I then sprayed it down with water to cool it. It took some time.

"dead pedal" started out from a stop light and was starting to make a left turn with a 8000 pound trailer got to about 5 mph someone pulled out and wanted to come straight threw the light from the opposite direction i was going !i let off the throttle then decided i had enough room to make it and when i got back on the throttle it was like i didn't push the throttle. The truck just sat there for 1 or 2 seconds till it started to move ! this has happened quite a few times since ! does not matter if the truck is loaded or empty all you have to do is start on the throttle let off of it and get back on the throttle and it dies for a few seconds !!

I went to start my vehicle in my driveway on 5/23/2019. The vehicle gave me a low battery indication and immediately smelled burning plastic.shut the verticle off,had everyone exit the vehicle and popped the hood up.smoke was pouring out of the alternator that had been "inspected " instead of being replaced according to the s68 recall bulletin 3months earlier.i quickly grabbed some tools to disconnect both batteries to prevent and further damage or fire. *dt *dt *dt

The trucks body control module is faulty causing only the drivers electric door locks to lock making the child safety locks in operable. By doing online research this appears to be a common problem with these trucks and can pose a major safety issue for children in the back seats.

July 17, 2015 - while stationary, i started truck only to have all warning lights on the dash illuminate, wipers activate on their own, and radio unit power off. Eventually, all power was lost to the dash. Truck was towed to dealer for repair. Truck received new pcm and was returned to me. July 17, 2015 - later that evening, the truck was towed back to dealer for the same problem. Truck was in the service center for two months receiving a new wiring harness and new computers. September 16, 2015 - truck returned to me.october 13, 2015 - while driving on a city street the truck exhibited the same problem. Momentarily lost engine power and transmission functionality. Lost all power to dash including trailer brakes. The truck sat idling for approximately one hour while waiting for a tow truck. I have recorded video of the dash continuing to flicker and power up and down erratically.october 16, 2015 - truck still at service center awaiting diagnosis and parts.

When letting off the gas pedal and then pressing again, (like merging or a rolling stop) there is a lag of 1-2 seconds. Very dangerous when pulling out in traffic. Ram says that is normal. This need to be investigated. Thanks

On dec. 15, 2014 i received a recall on my 2013 dodge ram 2500 diesel. The recall was for a inline fuel heater that may catch fire, it had no apparent fix, no parts, no instructions and no timeline as to when it would or could be fixed. I called the dealership and spoke to the service manager about my concerns, he told me that it was a remote possibility next to none, that the vehicle would catch fire. I asked him if i could park it inside and he said yes, and that the recall was just being sent out as a precaution. On the evening of jan 28th 2015 at approximately 0:920 pm smoke detectors alerted my dog and he woke me up. I woke my wife up yelling (fire) i panicked i took in a deep breath covered my mouth with my forearm, openedthe personal entry door and stepped inside the garage not realizing how bad it was. The amount of heat being generated from the diesel fuel and the structure was so hot the back draft pulled the door out of my hand trapping me in the garage and because it was a schlage combination style there was no turning back, all i could see was complete black and red, red flames was shooting out from under my truck. My neighbor was kicking on my garage door yelling to wake up. I panicked again and hit the up button on the main garage door hoping to make a run for it, the garage door went up about a foot and fell hard because it pulled the door motor from the mounting brackets.i knew the only way out was the front door i used the side of the dodge as a guide and burnt my left hand, made it out the door and my neighbor handed me the garden hose hanging on the fence. All fire reports indicate the fire started under the hood of the dodge, the fire investigator from chrysler said in front of laramie county arson investigators that it originated at the fuel heater. State farm may have settled with dodge. Please read attachment.

Battery drain. Bought several batteries over the past 4 years and each battery will last 2 months after that i would have to start the truck up every other day, so the battery wouldn' t go dead. .

The contact owns a 2013 dodge ram 3500. While driving various speeds, the passenger side low beam and high beam head lamps failed to illuminate. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where the passenger side headlight assembly was replaced, but the failure recurred. The contact mentioned that the driver and passenger side low beam and high beam head lamps failed to illuminate. The vehicle was taken to the dealer again where it was diagnosed that wiring harness failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

Death wobble. I hit small bump in road at 70mph and the violent wobbling begins

1st time our truck shook so bad we had to get off the highway, 2nd time truck wouldn't go into drive. 3rd time truck said it was in gear when it was in park. 4th time perform service light. Actuator. 5th time perform service light. And now this. We have owned this truck for 10 months and it has been in the shop multiple times for multiple weeks. The last time being for a 9 nine days. They have now sent it home saying they can't fix it because the recall parts are not available. The perform service light is still on and i was told when the check engine light comes on again which they said it would that i can bring it back and they'll turn it off again for me. We have filed a complaint with dodge and they opened a case then sent us a message that they closed our case because our truck had been fixed. We are at a loss as to what to do now.

The contact owns a 2013 dodge ram 3500. The contact stated that exhaust fumes were emitted into the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer several times where the technician diagnosed that a hose clamp became loose and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 500 and the current mileage was 17,000.

I was on pa turnpike attemping to merge from a service plaza, when an opening in traffic was available i applied power to merge into line . As i did this my truck did not respond !! i was pulling a 36' fifth wheel trailer at the time and my merge into traffic became very perilious! after what seemed like a very long delay ( and some braking by other motorists ) my vehicle finally started to accelerate. Once the motor responded i had plenty of power to achive speed with traffic . I have told dealer about dead pedal and was told " never heard of it " this has happened to me more that once!

Stepped on accelerator pedal, backed off and stepped back down on pedal.truck did not respond. Very dangerous when pulling out in front of oncoming cars.this is an ongoing condition, happens all the time if i push on the pedal too hard, the truck takes several seconds to respond.

The contact owns a 2013 dodge ram 3500. While driving at various speeds, the engine stalled without warning. The vehicle restarted after numerous attempts. The contact stated that the vehicle restarted without being prompted. The failure recurred numerous times. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or diagnosed. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 85,000.

Shaft on water pump sheared causing water pump to fail and serpentine belt to come off.vehicle being driven on freeway at highway speeds.serpentine belt failure results in loss of power steering and vacuum to power brakes.this in turn causes difficulty in vehicle control.

The contact owns a 2013 dodge ram 3500. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign numbers: 14v635000 (engine and engine cooling, fuel system, diesel) and 15v541000 (steering); however, the parts to do the repairs were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repairs. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure.

The contact owns a 2013 ram 3500. While driving approximately 25 mph, the check engine warning indicator illuminated. The contact drove the vehicle to the dealer (us one chrysler/jeep in sanford, south dakota) where it was diagnosed that the upstream nitrous sensor failed and needed replacement. In january of 2017, the vehicle was taken to autonation chrysler jeep/ram in albany, georgia because the check engine warning indicator illuminated. The rear nitrous sensor was replaced under warranty. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired again. The approximate failure mileage was 59,510.

The contact owns a 2013 ram 3500. While driving approximately 65 mph, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the def fluid injector needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The failure recurred and the vehicle was repaired twice. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 21,000. The vin was unavailable.

My ram truck went into a malfunction and limited the speed to 5 miles per hour causing a major highway safety issue. The truck put all passengers and operators in danger. The def system in this vehicle can only be reset by a ram dealer which causes other issues besides extremedangers driving conditions.

My truck is a lemon. I've had over ten recalls and the problems just continue. Now my check engine light is on and the dealer told me my turbo actuator is not communicating with the turbo. They want to replace it at my cost of $3500. My truck only has 80k miles on it. I told them the turbo and everything still works fine!!!! just the check engine light is on. They said eventually it will go bad. They said i can still drive it but that at any time it could go in to limp mode where it shuts down and only lets you drive 5mph. This sounds dangerous! especially if i'm pulling a trailer. I asked how long before it goes bad and they say they have no idea!!! i don't have the money to replace a part that still works! this is obviously a faulty part that should be recalled. I've had 10 or more recalls with this vehicle already. Including a alternator that caught fire. I have four friends with this same problem. Please recall the turbo actuator!!!! i need your help. This isn't right and i have no one to turn to. It's dangerous avdci have to keep using this truck for important work. Thank you fur listening. The vehicle was provided to the dealer. On day three the dealer informed vehicle owner that the defective water pump, under nhtsa recall number17v-562 is not repairable as fca does not have the replacement part available, dealer states that fca has 160 new water pumps on hand and all of them are defective.this safety recall remains open.

Truck loses power when accelerating from a dead stop. As the accelerator is depressed or feathered, the engine loses all power for 2-3 seconds leaving the driver helpless. If i allow the accelerator to return to idle position and then depress the accelerator again, the engine regains power and the vehicle accelerates. This is a very unsafe situation as i was towing a 12k pound trailer and was attempting to pull onto the highway. When the vehicle lost power, i was in jeopardy of being hit by oncoming traffic. This issue has occurred several times. I took the vehicle to the dealer but they were not able to duplicate the fault. I explained that this issue happened while the vehicle was under a load. The dealer never placed the vehicle under a load during their testing.

Scr failedram has recalls on june 2013 forwardmy truck was built in april.

My 2013 dodge diesel consumes 1 gallon of def (diesel exhaust fluid ) every 85 miles while towing. The national average is about 1000mpg. It is using 10 times the average. It is very costly and dirty to fill the def tank.i'm adding to the environment multiple plastic 2 1/2 gallon jugs and the box they come in. The factory has no fix as of yet ,the dealer has been good with all the repairs except this. They are held back by the factory with a lack of information, i'm told.i have no idea what this is doing to my truck/engine or the environment it is supposed to help.

The contact owns a 2013 ram 3500. While attempting to start the vehicle, the service engine indicator illuminated. Additionally, there was an abnormal burning odor in and out of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to classic chrysler dodge jeep (1102 walton drive, texarkana, tx 75503) where it was diagnosed that an unknown system was contaminated and needed to be cleaned. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was approximately 86,000.

The gas pedal is occasionally unresponsive, and will not make the truck accelerate like it should. It causes a definite "pause" in the acceleration of the truck, although it is only noticeable once the truck is already moving.it is most noticeable when you let off the pedal, and then reapply it, passing in traffic for example. Because of the hesitation, i have come much closer to a collision while merging than normal.

When letting off the gas pedal and then pressing again, (like merging or a rolling stop) there is a lag of 1-2 seconds. Very dangerous when pulling out in traffic. Ram says that is normal. This need to be investigated. Thanks

I've had multiple recalls on this vehicle, my check engine light has been going off continually, i've had the water pump and catalyst converter replaced just to name a few, which to my luck my truck was still under warranty, now it's not. Again the check engine light goes on and off randomly, try to take it to the dealer to have diagnosed and i'm told they can do nothing about it until the light comes back on, i finally was able to get it to the dealer with the check engine light still on and now this time there were up to 5 items listed, the one that concerns me is the one regarding the turbo actuator not communicating.the dealer told me that i would have to replace it, this is going to cost me $3900 alone, my truck only has a little over 120000 miles on it, for this many things to be going wrong i am starting to thing i might have bought a lemon. I have read multiple people in forums who have had the same issue as well as one person who also submitted a complaint here on your website. Please look into this and hopefully this item will be added to the multiple recalls this vehicle already has on its rap sheet.thank you for considering my complaint.

While driving on a city street at approximately 35 mph, an engine spring valve broke, causing catastrophic engine damage. The engine is a total loss and must be replaced. We are hoping there are others out there who have experienced that same failure so that a recall can be issued. We are currently stuck with the $15k bill.

Truck was smoking under hood so pulled over to side of road and truck was on fire under the hood. Truck was completely burned. Found a recall on your website #p65.

There have been a couple times where i pulled out into traffic and got the famous "dead pedal" that dodge has programmed into this vehicle.there is too much torque mgmt. Or something and there are many cases, where you expect the vehicle to take off and it will sit there for 2-3 seconds before moving, therefore putting you into a dangerous position.we need this fixed before someone is killed.in the forums, there are many, many that have the same issue with the same vehicles - 2013-2014 vehicles with cummins 6.7l diesel.

Truck was smoking under hood so pulled over to side of road and truck was on fire under the hood. Truck was completely burned. Found a recall on your website #p65.

The truck has what i describe as a "dead pedal". I was merging into traffic and let off the throttle in an evasive maneuver, but realized i need to accelerate quickly to avoid being hit. I pushed to accelerator to the floor, and there was a 2-3 second delay before the engine began accelerating. I avoided being hit only due to evasive steering. This situation is very dangerous.i have verified this condition in a controlled situation, and can replicate the problem each and every time.

The contact owns a 2013 dodge ram 3500. The contact stated that the odor of diesel fuel was present inside the vehicle. The contact indicated that the odor was present when the weather temperature was below 50 degrees. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who could not diagnose the defect.the contact also indicated that while driving and releasing the throttle, the vehicle would continue to accelerate. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. Additionally, the transmission became stuck in 4th gear and the vehicle would not accelerate over 5 mph. The vehicle was taken to the dealer but he was unable to diagnose the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of all failures. The failure mileage was 6000.

Thank you.

While driving on the highway the truck starting shaking violently, the speed was reduced theshake ceased but the front driver side tire came off. When taken in a dodge dealership to inquire about repair, was told they could not repair it. This vehicle has lost power when driving on the interstate highway due to faulty fuel system.

My truck has been plagued with a terrible delay in throttle response. When trying to merge into traffic there is a severe delay between imputing throttle and the truck actually accelerating. It's almost like the truck takes 3-6 seconds to realize throttle input. This has become very dangerous when attempting to merge or turn across traffic. I have taken my truck into the dealership but there is nothing available to rectify this. I am clearly not alone on this, many of us having been having lengthy discussions on the forums in hopes of a fix.

Engine light came on, message said error with def system , call dealer.then message came up and said in 200 miles truck will shut down to only 5 mph.took it to dealership and was told this is an issue on these trucks.they could not get a new part for 2 weeks.i was 3rd on list and 5 more behind me.they're having to order so many that they're back logged. This problem needs fixed fast!surely, they will do a recall.

My vehicle is in the shop for a 5th time for the same issue of the engine light comes on, message said error with def system , call dealer. Then message came up and said in 200 miles truck will shut down to only 5 mph. The dealership and now warranty is refusing to fix it again basing their case on "contaminated def" fluid as the cause.i was told this is an issue on these trucks and to fix would be $1700 out of pocket even though it is still under warranty.once the def was called "contaminated", everyone starting calling me asking for $ to repair the system saying it was my fault the fluid got contaminated.distance driven from def error code 3 repair at the dealer to def error code 4, less than 100 miles and no def fluid was added since it left the dealer.the problem is recurring and no one wants to fix it.truck is sitting at the dealer and cannot be driven due to the 200 mile shut down safety issue.

The def gauge does not show the correct amount of def fluid that is actually in the tank, it is always showing full.

When letting off the gas pedal and then pressing again, (like merging or a rolling stop) there is a lag of 1-2 seconds. Very dangerous when pulling out in traffic. Ram says that is normal. This need to be investigated. Thanks

The contact owns a 2013 dodge ram 3500. The contact stated that while driving approximately 70 mph, she smelled an extremely strong odor of diesel fuel inside of the vehicle intermittently. The failure recurred only when the fresh air control setting was activated. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer twice however, they were unable to duplicate the problem. The manufacturer was notified of the detect. The approximate failure mileage was 6,000.

The issue of the "dead pedal" needs to be fixed. This has left me stranded in the middle of an intersection on several occasions. This has left me on the side of the road hauling a 40" fifth wheel trailer and now today at lunch i stop at a drive through and had to park my truck there as i have a dead pedal.you give it gas and nothing happens. Google it, its a huge issue and could very easily cost someone there life.

Randomly, while attempting to avoid hazards and/or collisions and while merging onto motorway, gas pedal becomes unresponsive for up to 5 seconds.this usually happens from a dead stop; however, has occurred while traveling at highway speeds also.

My ram truck went into a malfunction and limited the speed to 5 miles per hour causing a major highway safety issue. The truck put all passengers and operators in danger. The def system in this vehicle can only be reset by a ram dealer which causes other issues besides extremedangers driving conditions.

My shift lever on the steering column will often not shift all the way back in to park when trying to place the vehicle in park. Often the lever gets hung up between reverse and park. When this happens, the vehicle's prnd indicator on the control panel will turn a yellow color instead of the normal white color. Also, the shift lever will become stuck and must be forcibly taken back into gear to try to shift again back into park. The lever acts as if it has found a 'new' slot between park and reverse. Also, when this yellow color shows on my prnd indicator, if i am negligent in not getting the vehicle fully back into park, the vehicle will not start. I have had to have this vehicle towed back to the dealer repair shop because i could not get the shift lever out of the spot it was stuck in between park and reverse. This represents a problem in that i believe the truck is recognizing that it is neither in park or reverse so that it may become a safety issue when the truck is parked. Without the use of the emergency brake it may roll off. This incident has so far only happened when i stop to shift the vehicle into park and attempt to shut the vehicle off. The vehicle will shut off but when i return to start the vehicle, the control panel emits the same yellow coloring for prnd indicator and will refuse to start until the shift lever is forced out of the space it has found between park and reverse. I haven't yet taken any photos, video or been able to get the dealership repair persons to acknowledge the issue. The only thing the dealership did to address the problem is talk me into purchasing a new key fob. *dt *dt *dt *dt*dt *dtthe consumer stated btsi and shifter cable was replaced on september 13.*dt*dt

I experienced a severe case of the dodge "death wobble."this is the fifth time in two months and this was the worst yet. I was driving on a state highway going about 60. The left from tire hit a small bump - maybe an inch deep. The truck began shaking violently and was not controllable. I slammed on the brakesto stop the shaking but it keep shaking violently as long as it was moving. I finally slid off the road sideways and ended up on the shoulder. Fortunately it was a gentle shoulder. If it had been steep i could easily have been killed. I took the truck to a dealer after the last time it did this and he said nothing can be done. That is not an acceptable answer as this is a death trap.

Serpentine belt broke from supposed "wear" at 37k miles with such force that it broke the fan and radiator on a 2013 3500 ram hd truck, rendering the truck's steering, brakes, etc., useless, if on mountain/curvy road extremely dangerous; this vehicle was on interstate highway and difficult to get from left lane to right median. Would have been impossible to correct if in curve.truck is still in for repairs at dealership 12 days later.no invoice received; amount due $1500+

Steering linkage broke causing the vehicle to be towed in. Right tie rod broke at tube end near total toe adjuster clamp. Loosing any ability to steer the vehicle.

On june 1, 2013, i was driving the dodge ram 3500 at highway speed (approx. 60 mph) when the steering completely locked up and 4-way emergency flashers failed. I drifted to the side of the highway and came to a stop. I immediately called roadside assistance. My phone log shows this call started at 8:40am and lasted 9 minutes. During the call, washington department of transportation incident response stopped at the scene and neither of us realized the extent of the problem and wa dot left the scene.near the end of the call, i noticed smoke pouring from under the hood and exited the vehicle. At that time, i noticed burning material on the ground under the truck's engine. I hung up with roadside assistance and called 911 at 8:49am. At that time, at least 4 law enforcement, 2 fire engines, and wa dot arrived on scene and shut down the entire state highway due to the size of the fire. One lane of the highway was reopened just before 9:20am. When i left the scene, the fire department was still actively working to control the blaze and had cut open the truck's hood to better access the fire. After the fire, i re-read the recall notice for the vehicle's alternator and believe this probably caused the near-crash and fire.

Sometimes problem it stared with a light vibration which i ignored always on a left sweeping corner always between 50-65mph and after hitting something small on the road even the center line but august 7 after hitting cow manure it started to shake violently and ended up off the road with no damage apart from my nerves i took it to the dealership the next morning where the technician test drove it on the test drive it had a episode violently shaking crossing two lanes of traffic and ending up on the intrastate shoulder the truck has 17000 miles on it now as a contractor i constantly have a goose neck withheavy equipment behind it so far it has never had a episode when loaded.

On highway at 60mph hit bump staring to shake violently slowdown to 30 mpg to stop it from shakeingthis is about the six time dealer says nothing wronge some call it the dealth wobble.

I was wanting to know why theram 2013 and the 2014 are not on the buy back program.due to manufacture recall r46, nhtsa recall 15v-541?i took my truck in to have all the other recalls fixed on it but they told me they could not fix this due to there were no parts available and that we would be put on a waiting list and did not know when the fix was going to be available.so do we just keep putting our families in these vehicles and keep driving them in hopes nothing happens to us?

The contact owns a 2013 ram 3500. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 9v021000 (steering) and nhtsa campaign number: 15v541000 (steering) completed at local dealer star dodge chrysler jeep ram located at 5101 s 1st st, abilene, tx 79605, (325) 698-2222. The contact stated after the repairs were completed while his wife was driving she experienced the death wobble and skimmed the cement wall of a bridge. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact stated no one was injured or seeked any medical attention. No air bags deployed. The contact stated he had also experienced the failure while driving. The vehicle was taken back to the same dealer and were made aware of the failure. The contact stated he had all 4 tires changed but continued to experience the failure. The manufacturer was contacted but was unable to speak to anyone. The failure mileage was 119,175.

Dodge death wobble.while driving our 2013 dodge ram 3500 6.7 turbo diesel pickup truck at about 40 mph the front end started violently shacking.i could not steer or control the vehicle at that point.this has happened now twice.first time i was on a freeway and almost caused a serious accident and the second time i was on a two lane hwy and almost drove off a cliff.both occurrences i was only able to slow down but had zero control over steering.once i got slowed down to about 10 mph i was able to let off the brake and the violent shaking stopped.i have taken the vehicle into the dodge dealership who said there was nothing wrong with our vehicle.similar reports of this issue are all the internet.in both occurrences it felt like the shacking started in the front right side of my vehicle.

Truck began to violently shake, reducing ability to steer.shaking did not subside until vehicle speed reduced to 25mph.dealership stated could not find anything wrong as there were no trouble codes showing.this has recurred three additional times, each time the shaking increasingly violent, and even less control of steering and breaking.dealership states unless anomaly of can be re-inacted,no repairs will be made.dealership service manager accuses us of faking issue of shaking or "death wobble".chrysler representative states unless a re-creation of this anomaly no repairs will be made.we have expressed to chrysler representative fear of having accident.

The contact owns a 2013 dodge ram 3500. The contact stated when the vehicle would veer to the right and shook violently. The vehicle was taken to a dealer for diagnostic testing. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 17,000.

Starting in july 2014 my 2013 ram 3500 has had death wobble at least 6-7 times. Going down interstate around 65-75 mph if the right tire hits a pot hole the front end starts to shake uncontrollably. In order to get the truck to stop i have to come down on the brakes very hard almost to a complete stop. This is very dangerous not know when it can happen and a semi truck is right behind you.

The contact stated that the technician performed an interim repair. The contact stated that the vehicle also required an alignment however, dealers declined to perform the alignment until the remedy was finalized. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue but offered no assistance. The approximate failure mileage was 37,203.

Our truck has started shaking violently, seemingly randomly, at freeway speeds (has only occurred at 50+mph).the steering wheel and the whole truck begins violently shake and becomes nearly uncontrollable while driving at freeway speeds- it happens instantaneously and without warning!you have to slow down to less than 20mph, or completely stop and then restart and it goes away.the last time is occurred, march 17 2018, i was driving and nearly lost control of the truck when is started shaking, i was lucky that traffic was light and no one was in the lane to my left so i was able to pull over safely without hitting someone.it also does not happen every time you drive it, so as of right now, it is very random, but it has happened at least 5 times in the last 2 months, and we only drive our truck 1 or 2 days a week.we are fearful to drive our truck, and there is no known fix for this problem.we have new tires, a recent front end alignment, and the truck is completely stock.we had the vehicle evaluated by an automotive repair shop today, and they could find nothing loose or broken.i can send a video in of this problem if you would like.there are other videos already out there with this problem as well.

I received in late october 2015 a letter from fca (fiat chrysler automobiles) regarding safety recall r46/nhtsa 15v-541, which states 2013 ram 3500 trucks may have an improperly welded front suspension track bar frame bracket, which could separate while driving, causing a hazardous situation including loss of steering control.before i went to the dealer to have this remedied, i experienced an incident while driving on the interstate, where the front end suddenly started shaking violently and i lost almost all steering control, narrowly avoiding hitting a freeway sign and eventually stopping in a ditch on the side of the shoulder.this was all recorded by a dashcam video. Upon immediate inspection under the truck, the track bar mounts were separated from the frame, welds were broken, leaving the track bar dangling (see attached).the truck was towed to the closest dealer, and upon initial inspection the dealer also stated this appeared to be the issue that was under recall, but they had no remedy from fca corporate on how to fix it as of yet.for nearly a month the truck sat untouched at the dealer, unsafe to drive, until i was notified on 12/3/2015 that fca will not honor handling this recall problem because i had modified the truck with a lift kit. I say: the lift kit may or may not have accelerated the failure of the part, but the ultimate reason of this situation is fca's poorly manufactured product in which a recall was required, but ultimately not honored.this problem is not an issue in 2015 or newer heavy duty rams, as the welding process is completely different.therefore, fca clearly acknowledges this issue but when it is time act upon this acknowledgement, they would rather blame others.now i have an undriveable truck that i don't know how or when will be fixed.

The contact owns a 2013 dodge ram 3500. The contact stated that the steering wheel started to shake and became loose. The vehicle was taken to the authorized dealer numerous times and they were not able to replicate or diagnose the failure. While traveling, the steering linkage fractured and the vehicle was slowly driven and parked at the contact's residence. The dealer sent a technician to further diagnose the vehicle in which the technician verified the failure, but no remedy was provided. The dealer also repaired the rear differential three times and the failure recurred. The contact noticed that there was abnormal swaying in the rear and the steering wheel failed to safely operate. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The approximate failure mileage was less than 3,000.

Death wobble.steering starts wobbling after hitting a bump at interstate speeds.must slow to below 30 mph to make it stop.very dangerous as it is hard to control direction of vehicle when wobbling.

The vehicle was taken in for a front end alignment.when the technician loosened the tube retaining clamp to adjust the outer tie rod, one side of the threaded portion of the adjuster tube, socket, tie rod end (68369910ac) fell on the ground. The metal wall sheared at the start of the adjustment threads and showed signs of metal fatigue. The opposite side was fully cracked in the same location but had not sheared off the adjuster tube, socket, tie rod end yet. It took very little effort to break the piece off by hand. Failure would have been imminent if left untouched. Failure while the vehicle was in operation would have resulted in loss of control of the vehicle.the vehicle was stationary at an alignment shop.the adjuster tube, socket, tie rod end is identified as part (1) in the attached drawing.failure point is at the end where adjuster tube (2) is threaded in and tube retaining clamps (15) and (16). Pictures of the failed component are attached.

The contact owns a 2013 ram 3500. The contact stated that there were multiple failures concerning the vehicle and the dealer failed to provide a solution after several repairs. While driving approximately 65 mph, the vehicle experienced a strong "death wobble" vibration. The vibration caused the front seat belts to restrict and loosen. The contact had to reduce the speed to below 45 mph to prevent the condition. The dealer diagnosed that the tires needed to be replaced by a tire repair shop and the steering box failed and needed to be replaced. The contact had the vehicle inspected by two independent mechanics. The vehicle was also taken to a tire repair shop for further inspection. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 29,468.

The contact owns a 2013 ram 3500. While driving approximately 16 mph, the steering wheel locked temporarily. The dealer diagnosed that the steering column box was fractured and the tower shock assembly fractured and damaged the steering box. The dealer repaired the box, but not the tower bracket. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vin was invalid. The approximate failure mileage was 25,000.

The contact owns a 2013 ram 3500. While driving approximately 75 mph, the front end of the vehicle began to vibrate violently and the contact lost steering control. The contact was able to regain control of the vehicle and maneuvered to side of the road for a few moments. The engine was not turned off and the vehicle resumed normal operation. The failure recurred twice. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 86,500. The vin was unavailable.

The contact owns a 2013 ram 3500. While driving 45-50 mph, the steering wheel and wheels wobbled. The contact had to decelerate to 10 mph. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The contact called medved chrysler dodge jeep ram (1520 s wilcox st, castle rock, co 80104, (303) 688-3137) and was informed that diagnostic testing was needed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and did not assist. The failure mileage was 88,000.

Driving on i890 near campbell road exit east bound and i hit a bump in the road. The truck steering began violently vibrating and turning left to right and i lost steering control. The truck stopped wobbling when i slowed down to 30 mph. This isthe second time this truck has done this. The last time was last week and i have only had the truck back for three days after it was fixed and it is doing it again.

The contact owns a 2013 ram 3500. While driving over 20 mph over a pothole, the vehicle steered to the left or right, shook tremendously, and tilted to one side. The vehicle was taken to a dealer who stated that the vehicle was equipped with a traction control module, which automatically took over the control of the wheels to maintain balance when the vehicle hits a bump. In addition, the dealer concluded that the vehicle was functioning as designed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 24,700.

The tie rod end, which was previously recalled, broken in to two piece at the adjustment sleeve while driving.

While driving at 65 mph the steering wheel started jerking back and forth, almost went off hiway, took it to a dealer and they replaced the steering box. Had extended warranty but dealer charged me $1100.00 for the repair, drove about 100 miles and same problem only worse did the death wooble doing 45 mph can't even drive it back to the dealer that did repair.

Steering box output shaft seal failure causing rapid loss of fluid and loss of braking capacity and steering capacity. Vehicle was still able to stop but the foot pressure and arm strength required to maintain control of the vehicle is massive.

While driving on the highway the truck starting shaking violently, the speed was reduced theshake ceased but the front driver side tire came off. When taken in a dodge dealership to inquire about repair, was told they could not repair it. This vehicle has lost power when driving on the interstate highway due to faulty fuel system.

The trucks body control module is faulty causing only the drivers electric door locks to lock making the child safety locks in operable. By doing online research this appears to be a common problem with these trucks and can pose a major safety issue for children in the back seats.

The contact owns a 2013 ram 3500. The contact stated that the frame had a spring mount that was not welded properly and caused the spring mount to become loose and separate from the frame. The vehicle was taken to a dealer but was not diagnosed or repaired. In addition, the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 15v541000 (steering) however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 100,000. Vin tool confirms parts not available.

Truck was smoking under hood so pulled over to side of road and truck was on fire under the hood. Truck was completely burned. Found a recall on your website #p65.

The contact owns a 2013 ram 3500. While driving 74 mph, the vehicle drove over a bump in the road and the front end vibrated violently. When the vehicle was stopped, the failure also stopped. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, but no failure was found. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer for diagnostic testing or repairs. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 104,000.

On highway at 60mph hit bump staring to shake violently slowdown to 30 mpg to stop it from shakeingthis is about the six time dealer says nothing wronge some call it the dealth wobble.

The contact owns a 2013 ram 3500. While driving 40 mph, the vehicle began to violently wobble without warning. The contact stated that the failure also occurred while driving over a bump in the road. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the drag link bushings failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The local dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was notified and informed the contact that no recalls were available for the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 87,000.

The contact owns a 2013 ram 3500. The contact stated that while driving between 40 and 65 mph, the vehicle would vibrate rapidly. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer and the vehicle had not been diagnosed. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 30,000.

The contact owns a 2013 ram 3500. The contact stated that while driving at 65 mph, without warning a violent shaking occurred within the steering wheel. The contact managed to regain control of the steering wheel, veered to the shoulder of the road, turned the vehicle off and back on which then resumed back to normal. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the front end was inspected and determined that the front lower control arms needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The dealer, planet ford-dodge located at 19000 eastex fwy, humble, tx77338 was contacted and informed the contact that no warranty was available on the vehicle. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 162,000.

My vehicle experiences a phenomenon commonly known as 'death wobble'. (google '2013 dodge ram 3500 death wobble' to view videos of this issue). When driving at highway speed and encountering a certain curve radius combined with a bump or defect in the roadway surface, the front suspension begins violently vibrating. The steering wheel shakes violently and this vibration cannot be stopped by holding the wheel. Applying the brakes transmits the vibration to the brake pedal. The only remedy is to allow the vehicle to slow down by removing any input to the accelerator pedal. When the vehicle speed drops to below approximately 30 mph, the vibration ceases. This has happened to me numerous times and makes me feel as if i could lose control of the vehicle. If this were to occur on a wet or snow covered roadway, i think that the vehicle would most likely spin out of control. I have brought my vehicle in to two different dodge dealers to complain about this issue. They said that they were 'unable to duplicate the issue'. This is not surprising since it requires a very specific combination of vehicle speed, steering angle, and bump or other input to the suspension system.my vehicle was under warranty coverage when i complained of this issue to the dealers. My vehicle is no longer under warranty coverage but the vehicle still has this issue. The dealers tell me i have to take it up with dodge to try and get them to cover this. Not surprisingly, dodge tells me i have to take it up with the dealers.

While driving on the highway the truck starting shaking violently, the speed was reduced theshake ceased but the front driver side tire came off. When taken in a dodge dealership to inquire about repair, was told they could not repair it. This vehicle has lost power when driving on the interstate highway due to faulty fuel system.

The contact owns a 2013 ram 3500. While driving 35 mph over a speed bump, the vehicle became difficult to steer. The contact was able to pull the vehicle over and noticed that the front track bar was fractured. The dealer (don elliott chrysler dodge, 1225 n richmond rd, wharton, tx) diagnosed that the track bar was fractured and needed to be replaced. The dealer stated that the vin was excluded from nhtsa campaign number: 15v541000 (steering). The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 91,000.

The trucks body control module is faulty causing only the drivers electric door locks to lock making the child safety locks in operable. By doing online research this appears to be a common problem with these trucks and can pose a major safety issue for children in the back seats.

Driving at 70 mph it a hole in road had the death wopple bad had to slow way down to get it to stop.

When driving down the road at 75 mph and you start climbing a hill or going down a hill the vehicle will start to shake and vibrate as if something is not aligned,i have have my trucks tires balanced rotated and all aligned and the problem still occurs.i took it when and described it to the dealer and they told me it must have been something to do with the service light on.they fixed the service light but the shaking when climbing up a hill or going down a hill is still there.

Death wobble. I hit small bump in road at 70mph and the violent wobbling begins

The contact owns a 2013 dodge ram 350. The contact stated that while driving approximately 34 mph, the vehicle accelerated independently with the throttle warning light illuminated.the vehicle was taken to the dealer, who indicated that the throttle modules were out of sync.the vehicle was not repaired.the manufacturer was notified of the problem.the approximate failure mileage was 9,000.

My ram truck went into a malfunction and limited the speed to 5 miles per hour causing a major highway safety issue. The truck put all passengers and operators in danger. The def system in this vehicle can only be reset by a ram dealer which causes other issues besides extremedangers driving conditions.

The contact owns a 2013 ram 1500. While driving 70 mph, the vehicle began accelerating on its own and would not decelerate even when the brake pedal was depressed. The contact placed the vehicle into neutral, but the engine continued to rev. Eventually, the vehicle began to slow down. When the contact attempted to accelerate, the accelerator pedal traveled to the floorboard and stalled. The failure continued until the contact was able to coast the vehicle into an abandoned parking lot. Cortland chrysler dodge jeep (3878 west rd, cortland, ny 13045, (607) 218-7520) was contacted and stated that the failure also occurred on other vehicles and that the engine control module needed to be updated. The contact was able to drive the vehicle home without incident. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 21,000. *dt

2013 dodge ram 3500.attorney representing consumer writes in regards to vehicle throttle issues.while driving, the throttle became stuck and caused the vehicle to increase in speed. An inspection was performed by the dealer, where the onboard computer showed the throttle usage was 80& and the brake was 79% at the time of the incident.the dealer informed the consumer there was nothing they could do, since the issue was not on the bulletin board as an issue to be addressed.

Thank you.

Randomly, while attempting to avoid hazards and/or collisions and while merging onto motorway, gas pedal becomes unresponsive for up to 5 seconds.this usually happens from a dead stop; however, has occurred while traveling at highway speeds also.

There is an extreme hesitation between the time the throttle pedal is applied to when the vehicle begins moving.this issues seems to be most noticeable when the throttle petal is pressed slowly and also when the throttle pedal is pressed hard, released, and pressed again.i have had many close calls when merging into traffic orwhen turning at intersections.

The contact owns a 2013 ram 3500. While accelerating from a stop, the accelerator pedal traveled to the floorboard independently and the service throttle warning indicator illuminated. The driver managed to depress the brake pedal to stop the vehicle approximately one mile later. While the vehicle was idling, the driver waited for the failure codes to clear before driving home. The contact called diehl chrysler dodge jeep ram of salem (located at 400 legacy ln, salem, oh 44460, (330) 337-3475) and was advised to have the vehicle towed to their facility. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and provided case number: 57569312. The approximate failure mileage was 52,393. *dt *dt

Stepped on accelerator pedal, backed off and stepped back down on pedal.truck did not respond. Very dangerous when pulling out in front of oncoming cars.this is an ongoing condition, happens all the time if i push on the pedal too hard, the truck takes several seconds to respond.

When letting off the gas pedal and then pressing again, (like merging or a rolling stop) there is a lag of 1-2 seconds. Very dangerous when pulling out in traffic. Ram says that is normal. This need to be investigated. Thanks
