Highway driving mostly. Going through tires. Tires keep getting chopped. We haul heavy loads and worry the vehicle is not safe for the type of business we do. But we can't get rid of it because of all this recall. The previous owner had part of the recall addressed but we still feel the vehicle is not safe. We see signs of wear and damage that should not be. Like the chopped tires.

While driving my son to daycare the truck just shut off while we were driving down the road i had to coast over to the turning lane put the truck in park and it took several minutes to get the truck started back continued on our way pulled into the daycare and the truck died again after i hit a bump in the driveway and almost hit the dumpster pulling into the school because i lost steering and brakes then after 10 minutes of turning the truck on and off on and off on and off trying to get it to stay running it finally started so i called the dealership explain to them what was going on made an appointment to bring it in that day and on the way there it died again after crossing over some railroad tracks so when i got there they took the truck and then they called me today january 5th and they told me they told me it was the wind module and that it was going to cost $876 to replace it. I've noticed several recalls for the same exact problem on other vehicle models so i'm interested in knowing why if the same problems occurring on other vehicles why isn't my truck under recall??

I have a 2012 ram 3500 truck and the ignition switch is faulty.i have to wiggle the key to engage the contacts of the switch.the truck has lost electrical power while driving because of the faulty switch.ram knows of the issue and has a replacement switch the eliminates the physical contacts in the switch which will not wear out over time.i purchased the truck new and it only has 45,000 miles on it.i believe this is a safety issue from a faulty design of the switch.thank you,[xxx]*dt *dtinformation redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Engine shuts off while driving.ignition switch is so loose that it gets stuck between run and the off position and it makes for very fatal driving situations.the engine shuts off while driving, while parked, and anytime the vehicle is "bumped" up and down. There was a near crash on a busy interstate because of it.this ignition switch is the same issue that dodge has recalled in their vans, but it isn't recalled in my ram 3500 for some reason.it is a fatal flaw that will eventually cause a serious accident.dodge has a file of this and refuses to pay for it to be fixed even though they know that it can cause a fatal crash.

Parked in my driveway overnight not running.all interior lighting including dash lighting went out along with exhaust break, tow haul, cargo light.cruise control.and horn. Upon taking to dealer they said the tipm has failed and needed replaced at a installed cost of $1156.90

Pickup electrical system will shut off while driving. Requires turning the ignition to restart. Does when driving on smooth or bumpy roads.

Vehicle was parked for the weekend in my driveway and on monday morning about to leave for work the truck started cranking over. The truck was locked and the keys were inside my house. Being a standard while it was cranking it was heading in reverse. No visual flames were seen but heavy white smoke was pouring out from under the hood. Had to use manual key to unlock the door and put truck in neutral, i then rolled the truck down my driveway and then unhooked the 2 batteries and smoking stopped. After things cleared i could see burnt/melted plug ends from wiring harness to fuse box. The truck has been at dealership for (6) weeks now. End of week 5 they got it to start up but nothing on the computer past the firewall reads. To date they have replaced (3) wiring harnesses, the fuse box and a cluster and still at a loss at why computer will not read anything. As of today the entire interior is out of the truck and they are checking every connection, relay and what ever else they can to get it fixed. There was also an inspector thru chrysler care who investigated it before work was started. They basically told me to open an insurance claim. Thanks for the help.

When attempting to start the vehicle, the vehicle will not start unless one turns the key fob extremely hard and wiggling the fob while turning.the vehicle also stalls after the key is released, and stalls while traveling down the road.

While driving down the highway/roads every so often the truck would shut down completely. Been doing this a couple of times. Luckily i never got into a wreck because of this issue. Now the truck won?t start and it happened at home. After troubleshooting the problem i have found thewireless ignition node to be bad. After a little research on this i came up on a recall for the same problem and the same ignition system on other dodge?s and was wondering why the dodge ram was left out. Recall number r03/nhtsa 14v-373.

The win module for the ignition system on my truck is faulty.there has been several time where i'm driving down the highway and the vehicle just shuts off completely.this disables my power steering and brakes.so i either have to shift into neutral and try to start the engine while rolling with a trailer hooked on behind me with no road shoulders to pull off on or if shoulders on road pull off and try to restart the truck then again.there has also been times when i start the truck that the dash lights just flash or the truck starts for a second and then shuts off again on its own with the key still turned to run.the dealer said that this has been happening a lot on these trucks and there is no recall for it.in my opinion this is a major safety hazard for myself and others traveling on the road.

The contact owns a 2012 dodge ram 3500. The contact stated that while driving approximately 45 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The 1st time this happened was as i was rounding a corner, onto a road i was turning onto. I pushed on the throttle pedal and nothing happened. The pedal was dead !!! after 2-3 seconds of holding the pedal down, the engine came to life and sped up. Sense then, this has happened more frequently. When starting from a stop light, going around corners and curves. It happens after leaving off the throttle, before passing, then a dead pedal trying to speed up to pass. This is specially dangerous when i am pulling my 5th wheel trailer and need the power to help control the truck and trailer !! having the cruse control on or off seems not to make a difference. After pressing and getting a dead throttle, the power comes back, after holding the pedal down for a few to several seconds. This may cause an accident, by a possible rear-end accident from another vehicle. I had this happen on a 2000 ford 250 diesel and the throttle pedal was replaced and it solved the dead pedal situation. I'm frightened of get stranded in the mountains or in the desert as i travel across the usa, where i can't get cell phone reception for help.

While driving on the freeway at 50mph went to accelerate to pass a truck and nothing happened.dead pedal, a big truck was coming up behind me and he had to hit the brakes as i was now in the leftlane. He went to the right to avoid me. This has happened countless times. Dealer cannot figure outthe problem, as no codes are set. They have replaced the apps, which is the gas pedal, the brake light switch, the ecm, the egr. None of these made a difference. Been back at least ten times for them to put truck on there computer, and no codes. They say, can't fix what they don't see. Dealer left thework order open for a long time so no evidence of all the come backs were recorded. Dealer is 40 miles away. Twice in one minute, one time only truck would not move from a stoplight. This only happened one time. I can make the truck do its dead pedal thing, but its out of warranty. It has something to do withthe exhaust brake. It sounds like the brake is on, pumping the pedal does no good, just put it to the floorwait 3 or more seconds and will downshift and off we go. Like i said, when going to pass, moving into the left lane on a hill and nothing happens, just a little scary. I think it is a safety issue, it could createan accident. Rear ended..

Truck shuts off at random at various speeds and after coasting will start itself up again. Throws every light on the dash on including trailer brake malfunction but throws no ecm codes. I'm pretty sure it has to do with the key fob/starter relay recognizing the key.

While driving down the road the rear passenger door window switch caught fire and began filling the vehicle with smoke, all windows were up at time of fire. Driver was able to pull over and rip door panel off to put out fire. *dt

The integrated brake controller is intermittent at best. I purchased a trailer and it hooked up fine. Worked fine towing until i disconnected the trailer and seven pin connector. Now the controller tells me there is no trailer on the controller and the dash alerts. Upon pulling the trailer again the controller tells me i'm not towing when i am. ??

Driving at speed hit bump or key brushed leg(usually when going from accelerator to brake but not always) & ignition turned off, had to put in neutral & re start. This has happened about 10-15 times at slow speeds and at highway speeds.the dealer could not duplicate when the truck was in for service. Only have my house key & truck keys on key ring.the latest incident happened last night driving at about 25 mph on a unlit, curvey, bumpy roadignition shut off lost all power including lights & i know that the key did not hit my leg because the keys were flipped on top of the ignition key(generally do this all the time). Originally this happened at random but is now occurring more frequently.

While pulling a trailer, integrated trailer brake controller stopped working and disabled the trailer brakes.all trailer lights worked, just no brakes.showed red warning in dash and "cf" on brake controller after failure.no warning before failure.checked connections and tested with another trailer.even with no trailer, warning is on and trailer brakes are not functional.created hazard to driver and other motorists by spontaneous loss of brakes.online forums indicate this is not an isolated incident. More recently, now the trailer running lights have failed.brake and turn signal lights work, but no running lights. No police report of inspections.not yet repaired.available for inspection.

Driver side control for power windows/power locks - smoldered, smoked and then started small fire.lots of smoke - to the point we were sick from fumes.doors and window power operation ceased.the entire control panel melted and need to be extinguished.

While driving down the highway, the vehicle stalled.i lost power steering, brakes, all electrical, and engine power.everything stopped working and went black.luckily i was not pulling a trailer, have to stop, or turn fast.if i would have, i would have crashed.*dtconsumer stated fuel pump failed and it had a bad ground. Above the rear axle. It had electrical issues. Backup camera blacked out, reverse lights come onand stay on, lights and blinkers flicker.

In august 2012 the engine warning light came on.it was taken to dodge dealernumerous times for repair.they would reset saying chrysler would not allow repairs.in october the dodge dealer kept the vehicle until a week or so before christmas 2012.the engine warning light has stayed off.however within a few days of the vehicles return, i received a recall notice regarding the left tie rod ball stud....which could cause crash without warning.i immediately called the dodge dealer.he said chrysler was not supplying the repair parts.he put me on a list.i have called the dealer many times and he says i am at the top of the list for repairs but chrysler is only shipping one or two parts for the repairs per month.

The electronic throttle control light will illuminate and truck will loose power.this usually happens when i take off from a red light (around 10-15 miles per hour).it has occurred as much as 3 times in a 20 mile commute.but usually at least once. The truck will almost roll to a stop and then "snap out of it."sometimes it last for as little as 3 seconds, sometimes as much as 10 seconds.this started a few weeks ago, and continues to be a problem.it is dangerous and i have researched this is a common problem with ram trucks.

Win modules and/or ignition switch randomly turns engine off and all electronics including trailer brake controls. Vehicle loss of power brakes and power steering. Loss of trailer brake controls. I was driving pulling a 10,000lbs. Trailer and truck was near impossible to stop. I was driving down the highway.glad i wasn't driving around pedestrians, and no traffic, or driving into a city rush hour like i usually am. Now i don't pull a trailer anymore with this truck because i'm scared of smashing someone or something.a lot of people use these trucks as commercial vehicles and towing and this needs addresses before someone gets hurt or killed. *dt *dt

Recently, on october 9th, 2018, i was travelling on highway 20 in washington state across the north cascades highway. While pulling my 27' trailer, my truck completely shut down on two different occasions. I was driving at 55 mph on both occasions. I reached down to turn the key and everything came back on while i was still in motion. During my trip, i refused to drive my truck because of what was happening with the win module. On october 23rd, while returning from the trip, the ignition did not "act up" on me. On october 25th, i was driving the truck to my local mechanic and i was accelerating out of a round-a-bout and the truck completely shut down again. Knowing that the ignition seemed sensitive, i reached down and wiggled the fob and everything came back on. I had reached 35 mph when this happened. I made it to the shop and had the win module replaced at a cost of about $800, which included some software updates and an additional fob. In talking with the mechanics, jeff and greg, they couldn't believe there wasn't a recall on this win module as there were on others. Having your ignition shut down while travelling down a steep grade while pulling a trailer is of great concern to me and most likely other people as well. I certainly hope that this win module is recalled and taken care of before someone gets hurt. I've attached a picture of the win module that was failing. The ignition shuts off when you hit a slight bump or touch the key. This is even when driving! the truck shuts off and losses complete power, brakes, steering and lights! this is a huge problem after googling this is happening on 2009- 2019 ram truck models. We have had near misses while pulling a horse trailer and 5th wheel! this should be a recall it's very dangerous! checking dodge chrysler is aware of this issue because the 2020 models have different win modules and fobs. The 2012 dodge ram 3500 4x4 6.7 diesel will intermittently stop running.the gauges will all go dead, the engine will stop running and will not start up again until the vehicle is completely stopped, put in park and key turned off and then back on again.it does not matter if the vehicle is at high or low speeds, with or without a load, pulling a trailer or running empty.once it has started back up, it may run for a couple of weeks or a couple of hours before it does it again.it does not seem to be affected by temperature or weather because it has happened in hot and cool weather and wet and dry conditions. Yesterday it happened when i was merging onto the freeway at 70 mph.last week it happened when i was pulling out of my driveway at less than 5 mph.road surface does not seem to create the condition for the problem to happen either because i have been on both smooth surfaces when it happened and on dirt roads happened, always at various speeds. Has anyone else experienced this problem or is this truck just an oddity?

Truck shuts off at random at various speeds and after coasting will start itself up again. Throws every light on the dash on including trailer brake malfunction but throws no ecm codes. I'm pretty sure it has to do with the key fob/starter relay recognizing the key.

Something in transmission (68rfe) failed and dumps fluid out of the transmission dip stick tube onto the turbo which couldcause a fire. This happened while driving and smoke started coming out of engine compartment. I was driving on a city street in the town i lived.

I pull a light weight 40' gooseneck trailer, and while driving i noticed the fuel mileage dropped tremendously and the coolant temp stayed around 220deg and i noticed a horrible loss of power which would not let me drive any faster than around 40-45mph! i took it to the dealership and they performed a boost test on the turbo and said that it's supposed to produce 32 pounds of boost but mine was only producing 26 pounds of boost, and then i was informed they could not justify replacing the turbo because it has not thrown a code on the instrument panel, well if you tell me it's supposed to produce one number and it's doing another then i believe that's enough justification to replace the part beings i paid $50,000 for a brand new truck! the loss of power causes traffic back-ups even if i'm in the slow lane! the temp out of the exhaust reaches 800deg's and melts my mudflap and has caused it to start smoldering after i come to a complete stop! i was later informed about the "re-gen" process and was told it would kick in and out of "re-gen" but i don't believe mine has came out of re-gen beings i'm still getting 5mph with or without a trailer! the engine light and abs light comes on numerous times a day an then go off and now the engine light stays on all the time! this is a brand new dodge 3500 6.7l turbo diesel 4x4.

I bought this truck new in 2011 but i have been deployed to afghanistan for the last 1.5 years and the truck sits in the shop most of the time.my wife kept telling me on the phone that when she has to drive our truck at night it was like the headlights were not even turned on and she can not see the road at night . If you drive more than 50 mph you are out driving the headlights capability.i googled 2012 ram headlight issues and there is a ton of complaints about how poor the headlights are on these trucks.

My driver was traveling at 80 mph in cruise control when he started to notice a vibration from the truck that was shaking the mirrors. He took the vehicle out of cruise control and started to decelerate. At approximately 70 mph a large bang was heard from beneath the vehicle and the front end of the truck was lifted off of the pavement. This caused the vehicle to be turned slightly sideways when it came back down into contact with the pavement while traveling at 70 mph! thankfully my driver was able to correct the vehicle straight but when he pushed on the brake pedal it went all the way to the floor. He was able to coast the vehicle to the side of the road and eventually bring it to a stop. Partsfrom the truck had been strewn down the interstate over approximately 200 yds. There was a vehicle traveling behind my driver at the time of the incident but luckily they were far enough behind that they were able to take evasive actions to avoid any flying debris. Thankfully there were no injuries or after incident accidents that occurred though i would attribute this to the alert and responsive driving of both my driver and the driver of the vehicle behind him. Had there been a vehicle directly behind or to the side of him there could have been a major accident possibly resulting in injuries or death.this vehicle was towed to a dodge ram dealer where we were informed that the front drive shaft was the part that failed. We were informed by dealer personnel that this drive shaft has a joint that is non-serviceable nor easily inspected and that this was the root cause of the failure. Other parts that were effectedwere the transfer case (the case was broken in two pieces and the internals were blown out), transmission cracked beyond repair, brake lines had been severed, fuel lines had been severed and a hole was punched through the cab bottom into the passenger area.

In december, i received the p65 fuel heater electrical connector recall which warns of a fuel leak and risk of fire.it is now february and parts are still not available to fix this and avoid the fire risk.if chrysler can come up with the parts to supply their production lines, why can't chrysler come up with the parts for the recall?based on this recall and other chrysler recalls, the delays procuring recall parts while supplying production line parts appears to be a deliberate strategy by chrysler to delay or avoid the expense of implementing recalls.

I was towing a 5th wheel and the check eng. Light come on and the truck stalled whent from 60mph. To 30 mph. I stoped for the night in the morning i got it to holiday dodge in austin mn. And was told the a code of p0087 was on and it was a low fuel rail perssure. But the part need was on back order and no dodge shope had one it would take 4 to 6 weeks to get one. After this repair was done it has been into dodge 8 time for the same thing and has costme a lot. But i stell don't have a sefe truck. Its not safe do to the truck runing at 60mph then droping to 30mph or not runing at all. Towing a trailer and the eng. Stops on the interstate trying to get the truck and trailer off the highway with no power is not safe.

This truck has been under recall for a long time now and everytime we have tried to take it to the dealer we are told that the parts are not available yet. This truck is a response/command vehicle for our fire protection district and is driven by the fire chief. How much longer do we have to wait. Chrysler said they would contact us again by mail, with a follow-up recall notice, when the remedy part is available. Will it ever be ready?recall # p65 / nhtsa 14v - 635.

Truck shuts off at random at various speeds and after coasting will start itself up again. Throws every light on the dash on including trailer brake malfunction but throws no ecm codes. I'm pretty sure it has to do with the key fob/starter relay recognizing the key.

Rear differential seized a second time, 9000 miles after it was repaired.a pinion bo

While driving truck, throttle light starts flashing, engine light comes on and lightening bolt comes up.car then loses all power and it dies.no notice. Very scary. Could cause serious or fatality accident since there is no notice and it just goes from 60 - 0. Dealer has had the truck in half a dozen times and still cannot fix the issue. Chrysler has given me case manager, but they cannot figure it out either. They have tried a few different things, but it is not fixing the issue. Now dealer says they dont know what it is and they do not know how to fix it.

Traveling close to max legal highway speed for the interstate highway i was traveling on.felt and sounded like two front tires blew and was traveling on the rims (sparks and sounds and responsiveness on vehicle).pulled over to the shoulder and discovered that the front driveline going into the front differential had separated.it was still attached to the transfer case in the rear.the universal joint and approximately one foot of drive shaft was cherry red.bearingrace was found on side of road and had started a small fire (was put out by driver).apparent damage to the vehicle was a gouge out of transmission housing (less than an inch at a join bolt), slight dent in transmission pan, torn (~2") tear in differential where drive shaft enters front differential.drive shaft and what is left of front bearing are free to turn by hand.differential fluid (assumed) was covering most surfaces on undercarriage of vehicle.up to accident all appeared normal except for a slight intermittent increase in engine rpm (200-300 rpm) about 5 miles prior, once while climbing a hill eastbound out of spokane on interstate, and just before failure of vehicle.vehicle and both recovered parts at dodge dealership in kennewick wa.incident reported to dodge.damage to highway observed to be a gouge (2-3' long approx 2" max deep) out of paved shoulder of interstate.traffic to heavy to safely check roadway, but no apparent damage observable by driver from shoulder of road.

While driving south hauling a horse trailer on a two lane highway, my truck would hit a slight bump or ridge in the road and start violently shaking. The only remedy is to slow to a stop. The steering wheel shakes violently, it is hard to steer, the brakes can't slow like normal. It is a dangerous not only to occupants in the vehicle, but to other people on the road. This vehicle is a hazard to everyone!!!!

The oem trailer brake controller will show a "trailer brakes disconnected", "check trailer brakes" this is a random message and checking the wiring shows no problems.the dealers appear to be clueless about the issue and blame the owners trailer. The warning on the dash display and on the oem trailer brake will display at any speed and without brake application.there are repeated posts on the various internet forums with no correction available, and since it is a intermittent problem, very hard to diagnose.

*dt *dt

When stepping on the brakes while pulling my 40 ft toy hauler power is not being supplied to the electric brakes.if the electric brakes are applied by hand then power is supplied.also, the brake lights to do not come on on the truck when the foot brake is applied unless the engine is running.this truck has the factory installed integrated brake controller.the fuse for feeding power to the trailer brake is good.

Brake transmission shift interlockrecall, nhtsa recall #17v-821, recall date 01/04/2018.i have contacted the local dealership-service department on numerous attempts and i am being told parts are not available at the time for said recall.

I was driving down the highway 97 close to prince george, canada,i heard a loud scratching sound which i thought to be worn out brake pads. It was sunday evening and all dealers where closed. When i called the dodge dealership next morning(i spent the night in town) they could not assist me because they were booked. So i went to a garage who could take me in. I was told the brake pads where not to bad but the drive shaft was ripped out of the casing at the centre of the vehicle and the vehicle was not drivable. I called the chrysler customer service and they said i had to wait till they could look at it next day(day 2). And even if it would take another day. I then told the local repair shop to fix it up since i had to little kids already waiting to get home. Chrysler said they would not reimburse me that i follow their guidelines or they would not give back any money. There i am with a $85000 vehicle and an extended warranty for $4000 and they would refuse to help me rather let me and my family wait for two days. Another issue is a recall that was supposed to be fixed at the front end but they haveaccording to my chrysler dealer been able to get the parts in. By now both front ball joints are loose and the front end is shaken even here they had no answer for the 14 month delay.

I have recently received a recall notice (n49) to replace the left tie rod on my truck. According to the dealer and chrysler llc, there is a part shortage and there is only 1 part, per dealer, per week, that is supplied. The dealer told me there are 20 people in front of me on the list, which means i am anticipating a 5 month wait and that i should not drive the truck due to potential failure leading to damage and personal injury. That is an unacceptable waiting period to go without a vehicle or being forced to drive in a dangerous situation. The recall notice states to file a complaint if the repair is not completed "in a reasonable time." i also contacted chrysler llc at 800-334-9200 and made a complaint to them and they offered no other solutions: loaner, reimbursement for rental, etc.

Received safety recall nhtsa 13v-520 concerning left tie rod ball stud. Contacted dealer and was told parts are unavailable and to call back mid-february for a possible appointment if parts become available. Recall notice states defect could cause loss of directional control.

We were turning around in a parking lot when we heard a bang come from the front of the truck.the steering wheel then had no resistance, we then put the truck in park, exited the vehicle, saw that the lower end of the steering drag link ball joint had sheared off. Then we parked the vehicle and waited for a tow.

Traveling on highway at aprox 65 mph, when approaching an overpass the surface height of the lanes shifted up (bump). The front end of the truck started shaking uncontrollably, steering wheel was yanked from my hands. I had to slow down to gain control, which caused the vehicles behind me to slam on there brakes and veer off aggressively to avoid hitting my truck. Terrifying and embarrassing event.

This recall has been our for over 6 months for the left tie rod. There have been reported failure of this unit leading to loss of steering control.i tried to schedule a recall appointment with my dealer, towbin dodge to have the parts replaced under this recall. I was told that i was number 42 on the list 6 months ago!! i am now number 24.the pace of replacement is criminal. Received safety recall from dodge about steering. The recall states that the dealer "will repair" the vehicle. To do this the dealer "will replace steering components". Lee dodge in westbrook maine, wants me to bring the truck to them so the service writer can look under the truck to "determine" if it needs repair!! the recall notice has already told me that the truck does indeed need replacement parts. Are we to drive the truck until an accident happens?

Vehicle inspected in june '14 by closest dealership, 90 miles one way, as recall notice requiresservice rep reported replacement requirement and will inform me when parts arrive.no reply, called service center sept 8 to be told they still do not have parts from chrysler.i called chrysler group recall assistance center at 1-800-853-1403, talked to "dennis" who stated parts are not readly available and somewhat blamed the dealership and didn't know when parts would be sent.i travel baja mexico and expected this to be repaired prior to oct 15 is there truly a problem or not?

Driving on freeway, went to change lanes and then all of a sudden the front of the vehicle started to shake erratically almost causing me to wreck and/or hit other vehicles. Could not stop the vehicle and it started to lose control. Had to come to a complete stop on the freeway in order for the vehicle to stop shaking. I have made several complaints and attempts to have the vehicle repaired but the dealership keeps telling me that they cannot fix and do not have the parts. I have also contacted chrysler directly and they do not have a time frame for the parts. I explained the severity of the situation almost crashing and their response was "that would be unfortunate". No help at all! said i would need to go on a waiting list.

I was notified by letter concerning recall n49 / nhtsa 13v-529 in december 2013 to setup an appointment with the local dealer after january 6, 2014.at first, i was told "no parts, try again in 2 weeks", then "no parts, come back at end of february", then "no parts, we've put you on the list, you'll get called when we know more".after waiting 3 months of not hearing anything, i stopped by the local dealership again just to get "we lost the list, but have a pallet of parts; however they are confirmed for the local military vehicle fleet that was brought in last week.we'll call you if and when we get something, but it could be another year."i have put 14000 miles on the truck in all sorts of situations that could result in a failure and drive at least 100 miles a day.the customer service affiliated with this recall is abysmal at best.the recall assistance center has been of no assistance in getting the repairs handled.

I purchased my vehicle new and was not notified about a recall for the tie rod ends. After learning of the recall i contacted my local dealer only to discover they have no parts to make the repairs and i am approximately number 800 on the waiting list.this recall is a safety issue and i feel the manufacturer should be forced to quit dragging their feet and get the necessary parts to the local dealers for installation.it doesn't take this long for them to build thousands of complete vehicles.

I received a recall notice and contacted the dealer for service. Was informed that the parts would not be available for more than 30 weeks because of a restriction on availability of parts. Called back two months later to find out updates if any and was told that i must now bring in the vehicle for an inspection to find out if my truck needs a part replacement or not. Took in and they said yes it did need it but the parts are still not available and won't be for quite a long time. Am now waiting for a call from the dealer as to parts availability and scheduling. I find it ridiculous that there is a major safety issue being ignored and not fixed immediately by the manufacturer, i use this truck to haul heavy loads long distances and count on it for my income. I am upset that the parts are not available and that i could be in danger of a serious crash if they fail.

N49 safety recall. No parts available. Vehicle is wandering from part wear/fatigue. I am told could take up to 8 months to get part and make repairs. I use this vehicle to make my living, if it is unsafe to drive, what am i supposed to do? i need assistance, chrysler says they feel for my situation, but that it is not their issue but a supplier issue. I purchased my truck from chrysler not the supplier, i believe that it is chrysler's responsibility to either fix my truck in a timely manner or provide a replacement. 8 months is not timely or acceptable, please help.

Have 2 recalls the steering 1 was last year call and talk severl time, also have fuel tank heater been sence beginning of this year. Was told both on back order and never seem have them come in so can get them taken care of. I would think this be a big safty problem.

November, 2015, the tie rod assembly was replaced under recall on my 2012 ram 3500 diesel. On may 29, 2017 the tie rod assembly failed causing loss of steering control in the truck. Fortunately it was in town at 35 mph and i was able to stop the vehicle without accident or injury.ram service replaced the tie rod assembly but with the same type recall replacement parts that failed 2 1/2 years after replacement.i do not feel confident in the safety of this vehicle steering reliability.

This is the second time i reported this issue. On august 26 the front end started vibrating unexpectedly when hitting a minor rough patch in the road. I was on virginia 81 heading north of roanoke traveling at roughly 70 mph. This required me to have a death grip on the steering wheel to keep it on the road until i could slowly apply the brakes and get to the side of the road. Vibration stopped after coming to a complete stop, at that point you could reenter the highway and it might not happen again for a few days. The local dodge dealer said the tie-rod was replaced on a recall and that was all they would do until further notice. As suggested by a dealer, a month ago i replaced all four tires to factory specifications thinking this might help. It has not! no one seems to know what the steering problem is nor do they care until they are forced by the nhtsa to address the issue on the 2012 ram 3500. This is a major safety recall issue that will eventually get someone killed!

Recall n49/nhtsa 13v-529....there is a major recall on our truck, chrysler has no parts to fix any of these trucks, we are driving vehicles that the left tie rod ball stud may fracture under certain driving conditions and could cause loss of directional control and/or crash without warning...how would you like to be driving this truck when this happens??? we are in our 70s, we bought a new truck so we would not have vehicle problems and could travel without worry. Now we have a huge worry and dodge could care less...they have no idea when the parts will be available and we are driving a time bomb because they cannot fix them, we want the parts to fix the truck or we want our money back so we can buy a vehicle we do not have to worry about. We live in a very rural area and have to travel long distances for medical and appointments, we want something done now not later...we need a safe vehicle...i have written to our senators and congressmen...

This complaint is in regards to our safety recall notice for a left tie rod ball stud.upon examination by our local dealership, it was determined our vehicle was in need of repair.we were then told the part would take at least a month to come in, and until then, we would be driving at our own "risk" and the pickup could crash without warning.being a mother of three, we obviously would not take this chance, and are now without a vehicle for at least a month.we find it reprehensible that dodge would leave it's customers stranded for an unacceptable amount of time, without offer of a rental or any other compensation for this dangerous inconvenience.the next time i need a vehicle, i will be passing by the dodge dealership.horrendous lack of responsibility by a company who is only interested in their bottom line.

While driving with a 4 horse trailer attached ( 2 horses inside)we wit a rough spot in the highway and the steering wheel and truck started shaking violently. We applied the brake immediately and had to slow down to get it to stop. It was extremely hard to control and stop. It has happened several times and is very, very scary! we have heard it is called the death wobble.

We received a recall on this dodge truck. We called many dealers including the dealer we bought it from fisher dodge yuma az. There are no parts available for this recall and found out its going to be 2 months min. This truck is our only transportation, what are we suppose to do...we are in arizona and we live in idaho. As far as i can tell this truck is unsafe and we should not be driving it without the fix for the recall...we are 70 years old, this stress is a killer....we have to use our truck or we have no way to get around at all, what do you expect us to do and how can dodge get away with this....you know as well as i do that when the parts are available there will be too many trucks to fix all at once. When wego back to idaho we pull a cargo trailer, this is horrible!!!!!!!!!! how can this be allowed to happen...we do not have another vehicle and each time we drive this truck we are going to worry if the left tie rod ball stud on our truck is going to fracture and lose directional control and crash without warning???? how many people could that kill if that happened on the highway, including ourselves. Dodge should be ashamed of themselves and spend what ever is necessary to fix this terrible problem now...not months from now....we ask for you to help us! we are in limbo in arizona!

Received a recall in december 13v529000 dated 11/06/2013 on my ram 3500: took to dealer for inspection and the truck is one with the defective part.dealer states that the parts are not available for repair and no estimated time of receipt, (put on list) at jeff wyler cdj in lawrenceburg, in. 47025..this seems like a situation where nhtsa should step in and protect the public from this potential loss of steering and possible loss of life due to chrysler group llc.'s lack of concern for their customers.they should provide vehicles to the owners for use until they comply with the prescribed repairs of these ticking time bombs.

When driving down the highway, any time the vehicle hits a discontinuity such as grooves made by heavy trucks, the vehicle drives erratically and tries to move suddenly into the other lane or off the road.i brought it into the dealer prior to warranty expiring and they misdiagnosed it to be a rear end problem and told me i had to buy a rear stabilizer.i brought it back again and they could not figure out why.i brought it to 2 other shops and another dealer.the 2nd dealer said the whole front end was needing to be replaced but now the warranty expired.i had purchased an extended warranty and they covered part of it but they are not affiliated with dodge.this did not fix the problem.i have called their customer service line numerous times they refuse to let me talk to a manager.they say i need to bring it back to the dealer but they say the warranty is expired and they will not cover it.

My problem is that i wish to proceed with this option to have my defective ram sold to the buyback but over the last 15 months of just trying to proceed the whole system is 100% corrupt, crooked, fraud , criminal misconduct and i wish to proceed now still unable to have anyone help or assist with my trucks buyback, yes it's still my daily driver and i want the world to know this class action court settlement is and was a total scam ,fake ,fraud , press pleaser yet crooked area period and i am so sorry to say this but i called everyone from crysler ,fiat , dodge ,ram the dealers everyone and all said same to my desire to pursue my buyback rights ( we do not know anything of how this works or how to proceed with repurchase .absolutely everyone i called to include he very names listed under the settlement and all remain unknowledged to how this works.talk about major corporate scandals but more criminal intent is why is there no one answering to the courts or settlement of satisfactory buybacks ..?i know why sadly.typical government, corporate corruption!!! it's now february 2017two years from the buyback court order and well i still have my unsafe ram 3500 which now is very unsafe to drive yet how ironic no one has a dam clue of how orwhat to do with this agreement.i plan to take the whole involved system to court to announce worldwide of this major conspiracy to defraud aproxa million victims as they are all tossed to gutter the day after the big press announced this huge buyback.

Part 01: noticed premature inboard front tire wear and cupping on both lh and rh front tires at around 28000 miles.part 02: experienced "death wobble" (uncontrollable shaking of vehicle, severe shaking of steering wheel, inability to steer vehicle) at approx 34500 miles. This happened when crossing railroad tracks at approximately 40 mph.shaking stopped when i brought the truck to a complete stop in the roadway, which nearly caused an accident with a semi truck following behind.part 03:took vehicle to tire shop to purchase 2 new front tires, and also asked for steering alignment.was told and shown by tire shop that alignment could not be performed due to defective/worn/loose front ball joints (both sides, upper and lower).vehicle has 35200 miles when new tires purchased.tire shop suggested that root cause of "death wobble" might be defective ball joints.tire shop confirmed premature tire ware was caused by defective ball joints.

Report receipt date: nov 06, 2013 nhtsa campaign number: 13v529000 component(s): steering i received the "n49" recall from chrysler in december 2013. The truck was taken to the dealer immediately, but i was told the parts were on order and i would receive a call when the parts came in. I never received a call.i've been to the dealer multiple times and called multiple times and been told i was still 5th on the waitlist.i finally contacted chrysler customer service last week and they called the dealer and they just lied and said i wasn't even in their system.funny how i had just confirmed i was on the list a day before.then chrysler closed my complaint.this has been 6 months and i still have a possible safety issue that could cause a fatal crash on a $62k truck! it does not appear chrysler is too worried about this safety recall or my dealer but i'm expected to keep towing my camper and family around with this vehicle like this and their life in danger...for how long chrysler, how you gonna feel when the tie rod brakes towing a 10,000 lb trailer down the interstate at 75 mph and everyone dies.somebody needs to do something about this.

I received a recall notice months ago to have the left hand ball joint replaced. I contacted the local dealer several times (elko motor company elko, nevada) and they are telling me they are not getting the parts from the factory.i believe the dealer.i am concerned about what could happen pulling my 42' toy hauler if this fails.

All 4 ball joints have required replacing within the first 4 years of the life of the truck.

I received a notice in mail for recall on left tie rod ball stud could crack and cause loss of control. I called the dealer lone star chrysler in cleburne they told me there was 81 people waiting on this part because they only release 1 part every 7 days. That would put me almost a year to wait on a major steering component. This is unacceptable.

Re: safety recall n49 / nhtsa / 13v - 529on mar 12, 2014 i received this recall notice.i'm currently wintering in yuma, az and about to return to alberta on march 28.the fisher dodge, yuma confirmed the recall is necessary however they have 200 vehicles on backlog and they receive about one replacement part per week.i then phoned my home dealer (cochrane dodge) and they have 6 pages of backlog and only receive a replacement part every couple of weeks.i am pulling a 10,000 plus pound fifth wheel trailer at interstate speeds for about 2500 kms.needless to say, my wife and i are very concerned.the your safety recall letter states "if your dealer fails to remedy this defect...within a reasonable time, you may submit a written complaint".i think several months (if not years) is too long to wait for this steering component recall repair.

I received a safety recall n49/nhtsa 13v-529 which requested that i contact the dealer after january 6, 2014 and set up an appointment. When i contacted the dealer shortly after that date with the recall number they informed me that they did not have the parts to correct and they would notify me when they arrived. I have called back twice to check on the status of the part and was given the same answer that they did not have the parts to repair the safety recall. I would expect that if this is a safety issue they would make every effort to get it corrected. I have used this vehicle very little due to this issue. I would appreciate any help you can bring to bear on dodge to get this resolved.

Had right front tire replaced at 25,000 miles due to wear. In january, 2014, rec'd notice from chrysler to take vehicle in for parts replacement to prevent wreck. Service dept at dealer said 'park it unsafe to drive..be 10-12 wks before part can be secured to replace'..called the recall people they said 'only 1 part per week going to dealerships to repair 2008-2012 model vehicles in the 1500, 2500, 3500 series trucks..went to dealership on jan 27, 2014, they proclaimed not to know the rate of repairs parts available..said they called and found out same info i had..but they wanted to work a deal to get us out of the unsafe truck and into a newer truck with no defaults..same price, etc as truck currently ..didn't work that way today, january 28 when we returned for figures..new truck would cost $11,000 more than what we now owe on the 2012 ..so we nixed the deal, but we still have truck unsafe to drive because chrysler won't provide the parts to make the vehicles safe..

I have reported this before but it keeps happening! i paid 46,000 for a used 2012 ram 3500 with only 35,000 miles on it and its a piece of junk. In and around town the steering is fine but on highway driving the truck steering wheel starts shaking unexpectedly. It takes both hands to keep it on the road and the vibration will not stop until you get the truck stopped. I was told that this was happening because i had off road tires. I spent close to $1,000 and changed to the factory spec tires. This did not solve the issue! it keeps happening on highway driving. The dodge dealers refuse to acknowledge this has a manufacture defect somewhere in the front end. I am afraid to tow anything or have my family ride with me in the truck. This issue must be investigated and ram held accountable to come up with a solution!

Had my ram truck alignment done 10 times and it still pull to the right as soon as i let go of the steering wheel. Everytime they test drive it they said its fine. They said its the crown of the road. But its not its something to do with the steering rack or components. It has less 32000 miles and been doing this since 2476 miles. I have had it to 4 different alignment shop and everytime they said it was a little off. Didnt get even 3 blocks and it still pulled to the right and the steering wheel is always offset to the right instead of straight across.

*dt *dt

Left tie rod broke when trying to turn left.have been on a waiting list to get part replaced for months upon receipt of the recall notice.

The vehicle was stopped, the steering wheel was turned and the ball joint between the steering box and the front suspension snapped making a huge bang noise.

I received an official recall notice for my vehicle (recall notice n49/nhtsa 13v-529) affecting the left tie rod. I have tried having my truck serviced at two different dealerships for this recall since receiving this notice in late december 2013.the dealerships have not been able to schedule my service because they say chrysler is having difficulty sending the replacement parts.the repair delay (three months) is unreasonable and should be addressed with chrysler.is it possible for owners like me to purchase quality after market parts to repair/address only the recall issues and have chrysler cover the cost if chrysler is having difficulty finding suitable quality parts vendors?

Received safety recall around jan 2014 stating that the left tie rod ball stud on my truck may fracture. Contacted miracle chrysler dodge jeep in gallatin, tn in feb 2014 and was told that the parts are not available due to high demand and that their service department would call me when the part came in. I have called multiple times with the same results. I took my truck in on may 20, 2014 for routine service and was told that parts were ordered on that day to fix the recalled left tie rod ball stud. After no follow up from the dealer, i went back to the service department on july 10, 2104 and was told that i had 21 other customers ahead of me waiting on the same recall. Moreover, the dealership stated that they were only getting enough parts in to service only 4 trucks per month. This translates to at least a 5 month waiting period. This is unacceptable and unsafe.

I received a safety recall notification dec 2013 letting me know i needed to contact a dodge dealer starting 1.6.14 to schedule a service appointment for the repair.recall is for the left tie rod ball stud which may fracture and cause a loss of directional control and or crash without warning.1.6.14 i emailed the dodge dealer in carson city, nv1.7.14 i called the dodge dealer in carson city, nv and was told i was number 60 in a line for this recall and no parts have arrived to date.1.7.14 i called the chrysler group recall assistance center and was told no parts have shipped yet and there is no timeline set for getting parts to dealers.1.24.14 i left a message at the dodge dealer in carson city, nv.my call was returned and i was told no parts have arrived yet and i am still number 60 in line for the repair.obviously, i am concerned about the potential for a loss of directional control.i am looking at getting assistance on how we can help dodge speed up the recall repair process.

We were notified in january of a recall on the left tie rod ball stud. We contacted our local ram dealer lithia to take care of the recall. Our vehicle was inspected and found to need the parts replaced and then told the parts were on back order and waiting for chrysler to release them. We have checked with lithia numerous times since then on the availability of the parts and continue to be told they are unavailable. When questioned about the part today the service manager [xxx] became rude, belligerent, and uncooperative. After i hung up on him he called my wife and was able to make the parts suddenly available.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Driving on interstate at 65 mph.after hitting an elevation bump where a bridge and main highway join the steering immediately began to shimmy violently. Loss of control was possible. I believed i had a blowout or steering linkage failure. I put on the 4 way flashers and managed to make my way to the emergency lane.the shimmy discontinued after i slowed below 40 mph..this could have easily caused a disastrous and even fatal situation.this vehicle is sometimes used to tow a 5th wheel rv.in addition, the vehicle was purchased new, has never been in an accident and only has approximately 21,000 miles on the odometer. This is in line with the "death wobble" information i found on line.this is very scary and unacceptable!! i was on a straight stretch of highway at the time.

My safety issue is when a lance truck camper, model 1172 is attached to truck.the cg is 6-8 behind the rear axle (even though both dodge and lance data sheets indicate it should be over or in front of rear wheel).in addition, when fresh water tank is full (and without a normal camping load), the gawr of the rear axle is exceeded.400 pounds of weight is taken off the front axle when the camper is attached to the truck.an inspection of the front tires revealed significant cupping with less than 5000 miles on the new vehicle.the truck with the camper attached is very unstable driving down the highway.i contacted both lance and the dealer i purchased the camper from.both say there are no issues and everything is in specs.

I have opted for the buyout option and the way this has been handled is unacceptable. I was emailed on october 26 with a buyback offer. I accepted, and faxed the paperwork to them the next day. No one has ever called me back. I called the impartial services phone number and asked for an update. They could not tell me when this process would be finalized. In my opinion, i would think that i could be informed of whats going on throughout the process, and the buyback is taking way to long. I do not feel comfortable driving this vehicle because of the recalls that were not repaired. This leaves me without a vehicle until this process is finalized.

I have received two safety recalls on my dodge pickup. I took it to martin swanty dodge in kingman, az.. The first time i was told the company had not informed them of what they were to do to fix this problem. The second time i took it there they said they would order the parts and call me when they came in. It has been two months and i have heard nothing. I feel that since the recall is for a tie rod ball that may crack, my life and the lives of my family are in danger. I want them to fix it. But, i sure would like them to do it soon.

I have taken my notice and reported this to the dealer and they said they would notify me when they get the parts. No response yet and i have called them several times. I have had the so called " death wobble" 4 times now on my truck. I have taken it to the dealership to be repaired3 times and i'm waiting to take it again today. They said they have fixed it each time but obviously they haven't. Out of the blue at60 to 65 mphthe truck starts shaking violently and there is no stopping it until it stops on it's own. Hitting the brakes, letting off the gas or flooring it (as the dealership told me to do) when they supposedly fixed it last time doesn't help. I am so afraid that something bad is going to happen. I am scared every time i drive this truck and they just keep telling me nothing is wrong. I have also contacted chrysler to have them by back the truck but they said it has had the recall done on it so it's not eligible. Well why does this keep happening then.

Recall notice on my truck for a tie rod.spoke to the dealership on several occasions and have been told the part was on order, then part was backordered, then part that was supposed to replace the recall part was also recalled, then the new part was ordered, etc... Excuses, excuses.this not only affects my truck but my husbands and my fathers as we all purchased separate new 2012 ram 3500 4x4 crewcab duallys (3 trucks total) on the same day.we haul horses and other livestock commercially as well as heavy equipment so safety on the roadway is of the utmost importance not only to us but to the owners or agents of the horses/livestock (sometimes the horses are valued at more than $100,000 each), and to the general public sharing the road.our close friend, who has horses as well and hauls her trailer often, purchased a new ram truck 3500 just prior to our purchase.her truck was effected by the recall and she was having the same issues with the dealership and parts as we are, including her recall part was put on someone else's vehicle prior to her scheduled appointment, so she submitted a call or letter to corporate and the situation was resolved immediately.we have been overly patient with this and request that this issue be resolved in a timely manner without additional excuses.this is a safety issue as well as a liability issue.please respond to this request as soon as possible.we love our ram trucks and would hate to look to other manufacturers in the future simply for the lack of customer service received from dodge.we have had excellent customer service from the dodge dealership in kernersville, nc, however that is approximately 3 hours away from our home so having our trucks serviced there is inconvenient.the dealership we deal with is john heister dodge in lillington, nc as it is a 20 minute drive, however the customer service is disappointing.

I live in warrenton, va. On july 23 my wife and i were heading south on virginia highway 81. My 2012 ram 3500 at roughly 65 mph the front end started shaking so violently that i almost lost control. This happened at least 3 times during our trip to our vacation home. Once it started the only way to stop it was to ease up on the accelerator until the speed dropped to around 25 mph. The local dealers have no idea what is wrong!

I received the "n49" recall from chrysler in december 2013. The truck was taken to the dealer immediately, but i was told the parts were on order and i would receive an email when the parts came in. The only email i have ever got was stating the parts were ordered. I have been calling the dealer was a month to check on the parts status. This has been 6 months and i still have a possible safety issue on a $45k truck! it does not appear chrysler is too worried about this safety recall.

We have tried since the recall to get this fixed. We pull a forty foot fifth wheel that is our home. We do not like riding in a dangerous vehicle. We have tried in yuma az. And joplin mo. Soon we will be heading for middlebury indiana. I would like to know my ride is safe.

The spare tire heat shield broke from stress posing a risk of falling off during driving.this poses a risk of damage to vehicle as well as a risk of becoming hazardous debris to other drivers.becoming hazardous debris could result in causing an accident resulting in serious injury or death.this problem was found while conducting a visual inspection of the underneath of the vehicle during routine maintenance.

All 4 ball joints have required replacing within the first 4 years of the life of the truck.

Received a safety recall for notification code n49 on the left tie rod ball.followed the instructions and took this notice to the local dealer the greg orr auto collection.we were told that they could not get the parts, that they were not available and did not expect to be for several months.it would probably be march or later.our information was written down on a scratch pad. This is very concerning based on the severity of the recall as described on the recall notice.i would like to know why parts are not available for this recall.i want this work/repair performed immediately.i drive this truck daily and pull cattle and other work trailers frequently and am concerned for my safety.

Left tie rod ball stud. Still waiting. What good is a truck i cant use afraid to drive could cause lose of steering. Bought from anderson dodge in rockford illinois.

Have 2 recalls the steering 1 was last year call and talk severl time, also have fuel tank heater been sence beginning of this year. Was told both on back order and never seem have them come in so can get them taken care of. I would think this be a big safty problem.

Received recall noticeon tie rod ends could fail took vehicle in to steve landers dodge in little rock ar and was told parts are on reorder from factory and they only receive parts to fix 4 trucks a month that they would call me when my time comes up on waiting list never got the call carried truck in today 8/25/2014 they said they replaced parts but cannot align front end due to ball joints are bad truck now has 42950 miles truck is dangerous to drive now it pulls to the right real bad and truck is all over the road they will not cover under warranty or recall because mileage is past warranty this is dangerous may cause accident prior to having this done when recall was given it only had 30000 miles but due to delays in getting parts it is past warrantythis appears to be a common problem with dodge and very dangerous some one is going to get hurt if this problem is not corrected on these vehicles .

My vehicle is subject to recall n49/nhtsa 13v-529 re: left tie rod.i received notice of recall quite some time ago.i called my local dealer, lithia dodge of missoula, mt and got on "the list" of persons who are subject to the same recall but we are all waiting for parts.i think i got on the list in december.i have followed up once or twice with the dealer and they tell me they are still waiting on parts from dodge to satisfy this recall.please look into this and tell me what my rights are.thank you.

The track bar bracket cracked. The crack is located 2 inches above bolt hole. It didn't crack at the weld. I noticed it when the truck became a little harder to control , zig zagging in the lane. I had it temporarily welded but unknown strain causing continuing failures in bracket.

I received a recall notice in january about the left tie rod ball stud possibly breaking. I took the vehicle to the dealer and they stated that my vehicle was in need of this repair but that they did not currently have the parts. It has now been over six months and i still have not heard any word from the dealer that they have the parts to do this needed repair.

This truck hasn't even been off road, dodge has had this issue for years, it's time to get these issues resolved. I am a fleet manager, we have dodge, ford and gm, dodge is the only truck with front end problems. Please help us get this issue taken care of. My truck has just over 38,000 miles, and has never been abused, even if it was, ball joints should never go out at this mileage.

I was backing out of my driveway with the wheel turned slightly to the right.my truck felt as though it had shifted into 4wd.i stopped, moved forward approximately five feet. Stopped and backed five feet.i then heard an air leak.i looked under my truck and found the tie rod had disengaged, dropped into the inside of the rim, and punctured the rim.my truck was disabled at this time and i called for a tow to the dealer.i researched and found this to be an issue with the 2008-11 ram truck.there was a recall (l16).this is an extremely dangerous failure for anyone moving forward at normal speeds.

But we can't get rid of it because of all this recall. The previous owner had part of the recall addressed but we still feel the vehicle is not safe. We see signs of wear and damage that should not be. Like the chopped tires.

The wheel studs break whenever i'm changing tires, i've replaced 7 total.i have to put them on very gently then i torque down by hand. I run a fleet of trucks and do mechanic work.this is the first vehicle i've had to do this on.right now i'm sittin on the side of the road because my right/rear tire fell off due to all my studs breaking. I have heard of other ram owners having issues, the dealer said that they and i'm over tightening but i've never had this before. These are lug nuts... Come on ram, get it together and do a recall.this is a safety concern.if i were on the highway with a motorcyclist next to me he/she could have died. I was moving 57mph when it felt like i was going into a dip and then i saw sparks from my rotor, and saw my tire/rim go flying out of the ditch. It passed me and now is sitting in the field. If i were hauling a trailer it would have been terrible also.

On highway 174, approximately 20 miles nw of meridian, tx, the 2012 ram 3500 veered to the right and went off the road into a steep ditch. According to the state trooper's report, a witness was driving behind this truck and saw the passenger side dual wheels with axle attached come off of the truck and go across the road before the truck left the pavement.two different employees of the wrecking yard where the truck was taken said it looks like the axle came apart.since this accident, i have spoken to another individual that this happened to also.updated 09/17/15*ljupdated 11/02/2017

While driving down the highway, 7 of 8 lug studs of the right front wheel spontaneously broke off.vehicle became difficult to control and steer.the one remaining lug stud kept the wheel on long enough to pull onto the shoulder of the road.this was a heavily travelled interstate highway.my safety and the safety of other motorists was at high risk. Broken lug studs are available for inspection.all of them broke at the location where the threads end at the shoulder of the bolt.i had recently performed brake service and the wheels were mounted and properly torqued to manufacturer specifications. No police report or dealer inspection.i made the repairs.no prior warning of the problem.this is identical to the problem a friend had with his ram dually, that is now in a recall. Part number is 6509866aa.i have owned this vehicle since it was new.
