I called three/3 dealers to inquire about having my vehicle recalls attended to. I have been waiting months and months for this. Jack key dodge (alamogordo, nm) put me on hold for 45 minutes after i told the reception of the n49 recall. Sierra blanca motors (ruidoso, nm) said the parts were on back order and the service manager would call me immediately (monday morning) after calling dodge....he has not called. Roswell dodge (roswell, nm) said all parts on back order and i would not be seen until november. This program is a joke. I will not have my truck repaired due to the uncaring, abrasive, and nonchalant attitude about a very serious matter. I demand to have a buyback, as is my option, and i view this as absurd that we must wait so long for our money in this age of instant communication. Absurd. I do not believe dodge can or will fix my recalls competently.why do you allow fca to wait so long on this buyback? why are these parts still not available? i experienced the "dodge death wobble" and this is a very serious and frightening matter. Fca simply does not care. What do you think fca or the independent appraiser is going to do with the evaluation of the value of my truck? probably this will be a very bad appraisal as well and/or the money from fca will take for ever to be received.i want my money now so i can purchase another vehicle....not wait until october 1, 2015 for the dealer to set an appraisal time. I can not believe how bad this program is going forward. Once again....the parts are still on back order. I want my money now.
Driving on highway at 55 mph, truck shuts off, does and lose control. Starts back up but does it again.
Odometerkeeps adding miles or not recording miles correctly
When going on rough roads vehicle shuts off. Have to manipulate ignition to get to start again. My family has 3 of these trucks and all are having these same issues. Just had ignition module replaced on a 2012 ram with 100000 miles because it shut off when going down road and frightened driver. When truck dies you have no power steering or brakes.search on internet shows this to be a common problem to many with trucks of this year.
This is the second ram 3500 i have purchased in a year and both have had the same issues with the blending doors for the heating and air condition unit. With that being said this is a safety issue. The defrost will not work when the blending door are not operating properly.this cause the front windshield not to be able to defrost when it is started or when it fogs up when going down the road. This is a safety issue because you can not see out the windshield which put my family and other family at risk because i can not see properly out the windshield to see what is going on and may cause an accident. This is a large vehicle and would be devastating if i hit another vehicle. Dodge has recalled this issue on other models under k17, but there is no recall on the year that i own.

I purchased truck around march 1, 2014 with 48415 miles, on march 14,2014 we were on the interstate with a 4 horse trailer in tow when the vehicle stalled without warning, vehicle shuttered, check engine light came on.we started to pull over then we regained power. We called the dealership that we purchased it from when we got to our destination, they told us to power off for 15 minutes and restart with the remote starter, this took the check engine light off.the same problem occured on may 1, 2015, interstate with horse trailer in tow again.this time we noticed the fuel dropped and the fuel milage indicator started flickering, we let off the fuel peddle and repressed regaining power, about 1 mile down the road it happened again the shutter was harder, we had to tap the fuel peddle 2 time to regain power.we notice the miletoempty went from 90 to 60 when it happened. Trailer brake lights not working properly.
Driving at night going about 60 mph when all systems failed, no engine, no power brakes, no power steering and worst of all, no lights.engine wouldn't crank, fuse box was making snapping sounds even with key out of ignition.after about 5 min truck started and i was able to drive it home, about 5 miles. Truck ran, but poorly.the next day i attempted to drive it to the dodge dealer, truck did same thing (complete system failure) after driving about 5 miles.i then had truck towed to the dealer.naturally truck runs fine for service tech, they reset a bunch of codes, but could find nothing definitive.unable or unwilling to do more.this fills me with absolutely no confidence.in 4 days i need to take this truck pulling a trailer from wa to az for work.
The contact owns a 2011 dodge ram 3500. The contact was driving 10 mph when the brakes were depressed but vehicle failed to stop properly. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired.the failure mileage was 450 and the current mileage was 5,600.updated 01/18/12 ljthe consumer stated theproblem was with the factory installed trailer brake controller. It did not apply the trailer brakes properly. It would work, when the manual level was used, but not when the truck brakes were applied. Updated 01/19/12

The vehicle was purchased new and has been in my possession since. The vehicle is used very little in comparisonwith other vehicles this age (62518 miles). The vehicle is housed in a garage when not in use. I have never had a water pump problem on any vehicle with so little miles. Is there a problem with this water pump???? i started the vehicle and allowed it to warm about 3 - 5 minutes as is my practice, and drove away. I had driven approximately 6.5 miles when the heater began to blow cold air. I checked the temperature gauge and notice the temperature beginning to rise rapidly. I pulled the truck to the side of the road and shut it off. On close inspection i noticed that the coolant i was adding ran out as fast as it was going in. The bushing around the impeller shaft was as if it was missing.

The contact owns a 2011 ram 3500. While driving 50 mph, the water pump bearing disintegrated. There was excessive steam and smoke that impacted the driver's visibility, which caused the driver to have to brake extensively to coast the vehicle over to a complete stop. The vehicle was unable to be driven due to the internal water pump leakage. The vehicle was towed to a repair facility for further diagnostic testing. A dealer had not diagnosed the vehicle. The vehicle was excluded from nhtsa campaign number: 17v562000 (engine and engine cooling); although, the vehicle exhibited the same failure related to the recall campaign. The contact wanted to determine if this was a concentric-brand water pump and if the manufacturer's remedy provided a newly designed water pump with a hole. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 98,000. *consumer stated water pump, it broke the serpentine belt which powers steering and brakes. When the water pump failed, it broke the serpentine belt which powered the steering and brakes. I could not turn but could slightly move the wheel enough to get the side of road. My electric thailor brakes were all that stopped my truck!!!

Loss of air conditioning.took truck to dealer and they found a hole in the condensor line behind the opening in the front bumper where the radiator, a/c cooling lines, transmision cooler all sit exposed to road hazards, such as rocks, debris or any other sharp object that may enter through the opening striking the critical powertrain coolers.this type of damage is not covered under warranty and may be claimed on your vehicle insurance.there is no protection on this open lower area, where the radiator is protected by the vehicle front grill.there is no aftermarket grill that can be purchased to protect these components.earlier model dodge trucks had lower grill covers for the bumper cooling opening.

Vehicle repeatedly gets stuck in park, but indicates reverse. Will not start or move. Transfer case is not allowed to move to neutral, because shift indicator lever indicates it is in reverese. So called "emergency override procedure" does not work. Batteries must be disconnected for 30 minutes before shift lever can be released. After having the vehicle towed to the dealership (at my own expense) upon the first occurence, i was informed this would never happen again. Unfortunately it has happened twice since then and i am most assured it will happen again.
Dealership is not tending to the recall.. Keep saying part is not available. Been about 8 months.
While driving back to our hotel the truck wouldn't shift into gear after 3rd and put itself into limp mode. There was no sign of any issues prior to this, the truck was driving normal and then all of a sudden it did this. We have a bully dog tuner and it didn't show any codes at first until we drove it in limp mode for an hour at 40kmh to get back to our hotel. Since we were on vacation we had to wait for a shop to open at which time we found that it was the valve body that let go. I have read that there are many issues with the 68rfe on dodge forums and i am not sure why there hasn't been a recall done for this?
On july 21, 2015 while driving on i-40 near newport tn. There was a loud noise that came from my 2011 dodge ram 3500 truck. After the loud noise the transmission was unresponsive and there were no brakes at all. My friend, who was driving and has cdl, gently pressed the emergency brake and safely pulled off to the side of i-40. Once the truck came to a stop a fire erupted from underneath the vehicle. A tennessee state trooper soon arrived and called for the newport fire dept who arrived within a few minutes to put the fire out. After the fire was put out one of the firemen noticed smoke in the cab. Upon further investigation he found a hole about the size of a golf ball in the drivers side floorboard. That was the loud bang. They also noticed a lot of metal hanging from under the truck and concluded the drive shaft had fallen out of the vehicle. I called aaa and had the truck towed to the closest dodge dealership which is in newport. It was 5 weeks before they even looked at the truck and then the service manager said it was a mechanical failure like nothing he had ever seen. It seems as though the drive shaft failure caused a chain reaction of events, in a matter of seconds the front drive axles, the transfer case for the 4 wheel drive, the main drive shaft, the transmission, and possibly the rear end were destroyed. I filed a complaint with chrysler on aug 27th and they had an independent investigator look into the matter. His findings stated that when the transmission flew apart it crushed the brake lines and also the fluid hitting the hot exhaust was how the fire was started. It was determined that one of the front drive axles penetrated the floorboard allowing smoke into the cabin. I received a letter from chrysler on september 18th that states they " respectfully decline any assistance" in the matter. The truck remains at the dealership awaiting repair.
I have a complaint number already but i did not send photos. My number is 10782106. Included are the photos of the hole in the floor board where the front drive shaft penetrated the cab between the drivers legs. I can also obtain a report from the local fire dept. As they were called to put out the resulting fire.
2011 dodge ram 3500. Consumer writes in regards to the left tie rod ball stud recall notice.the consumer stated 2 months after owning the vehicle, is when the problems started. The consumer and her husband did not like the way, the vehicle handled and steered. The problem was addressed to the dealer, at which time they were informed it was probably because the truck was a dually and they were not used to driving one and it would take some getting used to. Approximately 2-3 weeks after the visit, the consumer and her husband returned to the dealer to complain about the handling and steering. The dealer performed an alignment. They drove the truck for a few weeks, and they were still unhappy. April 2, 2012, the check engine light illuminated and the vehicle was returned to the dealer. The dealer reprogrammed the ecm.a month after driving the vehicle, the check engine light illuminated again.the dealer replaced the intake manifold heater air temp relay. The dealer then made an adjustment to the steering column. The consumer drove the vehicle for 2 more months, then the tie rod broke on the driver's side . The dealer replaced the outer tie rod end and re-aligned the front end. The consumer continued to complain about the handling and steering. The dealer then discovered the front tires were wearing on the outside front edge. It was determined the check engine light illuminated due to a blocked or incorrect air filter which was replaced and the codes were cleared.the consumers issues with the handling and steering were not resolved. In june of 2013, there was a problem with the steering column, where the consumer was unable to remove the key from the ignition.the transmission shifter was replaced. The consumer stated the tie rod broke for a second time. Chrysler determined after the original factory tie rod broke at 15,000, the replacement tie rod end and alignment were done improperly by the dealer. The improper replacement and alignment caused the front tire wear on the outside and the second tie r
We purchased a brand new truck from a local savannah, georgia dealer in 2011. My husband was driving down the road and a tree fell on his 9 month old truck with only 12,000 miles on it. He had body damage only but the truck was rendered "totaled out" by the insurance company. We paid off the loan with the insurance pay off and then, after negotiations,we bought the truck back from the insurance company. We then had the repairs completed (again, body repairs only). The truck was inspected and given a "salvaged/rebuilt" title. Now...dodge is refusing us any factory engine/powertrain warranty, but more importantly they are refusing (along with the original local dealer) to repair the safety recalls on the vehicle. There are two recalls: (1) left tie rod end and (2) 2011 djd2 6.7l ecm flush. We are also to believe that the first most severe safety recall was put out before the truck was even in the crash. We have gotten no where with either dodge or the dealer through several phone calls and speaking with supervisors. Both dodge and the dealership are refusing to do any safety recall repairs on our vehicle because they say there is a restriction on our title which prevents them from making any repairs...

This vehicle was bought new october 2010 and in december 2010 we had took it to be serviced because when you turned on the heated seat, you could smell an electrical burning smell. Dodge ordered a new seat pad and replaced it on 1/11/11 and when we took it in we also made them aware that the power seat entry had stopped working and when you used the switch to move the seat back, it went all the way forward nearly pinning my husband in the seat between the steering wheel and seat. Dodge recalibrated the drivers seat, but seat still never functioned correctly.on 2/15/11 i took the truck back to dodge due to the heated seat not working properly and still smelling an electrical burning smell when in use.dodge told me that they couldn't find anything wrong and that it was possibly just the "new" wearing off.the power seat never worked properly and we would just leave it in one position and try not to move it. If you did move it sometimes you could hear a clicking noise.spring came and we didn't use the heated seat.on 12/25/11 we attempted to use the heated seats and they did not heat but we smelt electrical smell again.we promptly disengaged the heat. On 12/27/11 my husband was driving the truck to the dodge house and an electrical fire started from below his seat and the seat began moving on its own forward attempting to pin him between the seat and steering wheel.thank goodness he was able to push his feet foward to push back on the seat, get the vehicle stopped and get out!he sustained a burn to his left thigh.needless to say the "new" has all burnt off now.the truck is a total loss.

Power assist for brakes and steering is lost at approximately 20-25 mph when slowing down for lights, turns, etc., requiring significant manual effort to control the truck. Power will return after accelerating from stop or slow turn but go out again when speed is reduced to 20-25 mph.
The oem integrated electronic trailer brake controller will not apply power to the brakes on the towed vehicle when depressing the tow vehicle foot brake.you must manually slide the brake controller lever in order to actuate the system.very dangerous when towing a camper, trailer, etc.i have taken my truck in twice to the dealer: the first time they could not find anything wrong; the second time, they replaced the controller w/ a new one.it performs exactly the same--that is, it doesn't.they assure me it is working as designed.they also suggested it was my trailer.however, it does not matter what trailer i am towing, it does not work.all of my trailers brake fine when hooked to other tow vehicles.
The contact owns a 2011 dodge ram 3500. The contact stated that while driving approximately 65 mph, the contact attempted to decelerate but the vehicle continued to accelerate until after repeatedly engaging the brakes with force. The failure occurred whenever a hitched trailer was being towed. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer ten times for the same failure. The technician informed the contact that the incorrect brake system was installed in the vehicle. The manufacturer was not notified of the problem. The vehicle had not been repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 600.

The upper steering hose inner plastic tube becomes loose or breaks and lodges into the metal fitting which causes a loud hissing noise under the sterring wheel.because it is also connected to the brakes, the pedal becomes unsafely soft.dodge/ram needs to recall this as it a known issue all over the internet and becomes a real danger when braking hard or towing.
Lost my brakes and steering while driving down the hwy doing 65. Lost all brake power and power steering.the motor runs but have no brakes and power steering. Looking at it i'm not the only one who has had this problem. I have 2 young kids and they could have been badly hurt if i wasn't able to man handle the truck. Definitely a safety issue that needs to be looked into. Not sure what is causing it. Is there anything you can do to look into this cause now i'm scared to drive my truck. Especially with my kids in it. I'm not sure what can be done about this but i would really hate to see something bad happen to a family for a issue like this. I thank you for your time and i hope to hear a response back from you about this issue.
There is a nhtsa recall number: 17v-821, manufacturer recall number: t79 recall date: december 20, 2017. When i called mopar today to see what the status is they told me the manufacturer still does not have a replacement part and added me to a list to be notified when it comes in (see attached live assistance exchange). The solution in the interim is to set the parking brake. Unfortunately when we use the parking brake it becomes difficult to shift out of park. The dealership does not have a solution for this problem, so we stopped using the parking brake. This leaves us with a defective vehicle. We are unable to use our 5th wheel because we are concerned that we will be stuck somewhere and not be able to shift out of park. This resolution is taking too long. I have noted the date the problem started with the parking brake.
"death wobble" - i hit a bump with the right front tire.i was doing 40-45 mph at this time.the truck front end started to violently shake, and then the rear started to bounce.i was in the center lane when this happened with traffic on all sides.i applied the brakes and tried to steer to the right, the truck continue to go straight, and then started to go sideways to the left. Once my speed dropped below 5 mph is when i regained control of my truck this incident was terrifying, and almost caused a serious accident.are they (chrysler/ram) waiting for someone to die?if you search on this site for "death wobble" then filter 2011 ram 3500 you come up with 125 reports for the 3500 series truck from 2011 - 2013.that is 125 incidents.when is someone going to do something about this.i have reported this to chrysler, along with thousands of others, and we are getting no where.
While hauling a large load of hay, i was traveling at less than 10mph as i was applying the brakes to slow the vehicle to make a right hand turn on to another road. When i applied the brakes the steering completely went away and the vehicle would not turn at all. The brake peddle was very stiff and the brakes were not very responsive. I was able to get the truck stopped as i was heading toward another vehicle on the road. After coming to a complete stop and backing the vehicle up the steering returned and i was able to make the turn. I traveled approximately 2 miles down the road to my destination at a very slow speed and when i applied the brakes to turn i lost all steering again and the brake peddle was very stiff and not very responsive. I parked the vehicle and have not moved it.
The factory installed trailer brake controller does not work correctly. No matter how the gain is adjusted the brake controller either engages the trailer brakes to the point of lock up or the trailer brakes don't engage at all. This is very unsafe, in an emergency stop this could cause the trailer to jack knife or loss of control of the tow vehicle. I have read on many forums that this is a common issue with the factory installed brake controller. Many people report that the controller works sporadically, either the trailer brakes lock up or they don't actuate at all. The factory installed trailer brake controller needs to be investigated. This is a faulty product and is very unsafe for towing. Having your trailer brakes lock up or not come on at all is a life or death matter. I have read the owners manual and have adjusted the gain many times and it still does not work correctly. The factory installed trailer brake controller fails every time it is used.

The vehicle was not taken to have the failure diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 5.

Traveling west bound on galen road in lafayette tennessee at 45mph i hit a small bump in the road and experienced a violent shaking in the front end that would not stop until i brought the vehicle to a stop i later checked the tire pressure which was good i believe there is a defect in the steering. Upon more investigation i found out the slang for this is called the death wobble.. After spending 60,000.00 on this truck i believe chrysler should be responsible for taking care of a permanent fix .

I received a safety recall notice n49 / nhtsa 13v-529. I took my truck to the dealer lake keowee dodge on 1/11/14 to be inspected. The dealer confirmed the part needed to be replaced on my truck. The dealer informed me that they were only allowed to order 1 of these parts every 10 days. The dealer informed me that there were already 10 customers ahead of my truck. This results in it being at least 100 days before the dealer could order the part for my truck. This is totally an unreasonable and irresponsible approach to correct a known safety defect. I have been trying to get the steering recall on my dodge ram 3500 repaired for about 3 months, the chrysler corp. Representatives informs me that the part is not available. This recall has been effect much longer than 3 months. If this part breaks as the recall indicates the steering would be uncontrollable and could have fatal consequences. Chrysler has recalled tie rod ball stud (n49/ nhtsa 13v-529) indicating my vehicle may crash without warning.chrysler has not supplied the parts to fix the problem. Contact with chrysler has told me that no parts are available and no expected time as to when the parts will be available.this is unsatisfactory.the nhtsa must ensure that chrysler corp. We received a recall notice from chrysler that our truck was recalled and needed a new tie rod to ensure safety. However, our chrysler dealer says that they are allowed to order only one of these necessary replacement parts a week. So since we were the 20th callers for this recall, we must wait about 5 months for this problem to be fixed!that is unacceptable for a potentially dangerous tie rod break!

The truck has a death wobble and steering linkage n64 was schedule to be replaced by a safety recall by manufacture at the local dealership. I was put on a list around mid february because the dealership stated they could only get so many replacement parts a month. I called monday 10 march 2014 to get an update and was told that the recall was canceled by chrysler due to the part was not defective. I called chrysler national recall center and was told by them that other parts are the problem and the parts are on back order and i would be notified when parts are available. I do not understand how a part can be defective then declared not defective. Dodge has 1000's of these 3/4 and 1 ton trucks out there that the steering linkage may break at anytime. Most of these trucks are pulling 5000+ loads down the road. There should be something done about this issue before more people are killed by substandard parts used by the manufacture. No other manufacture has this steering issue with there trucks. I have enclosed a you tube link. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z6h5eh261gw)(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bwvg63gp81u).

Power steering assist is not working. When your moving slow in the vihicle it's very hard to turn the steering wheel, when i took my dodge ram 3500 in for an oil change the dealership said that it was because the power steering assist is not working and that is why you are unable to turn the wheel while sitting or moving very slow. So it makes it almost impossible to pull out of a parking spot.i'm a disabled person so it's very difficult to pull in and out of parking spots, so i drive around to find spots that can be pulled straight into and out of.

I have a 2011 ram 3500 dually cummins truck. If i hit a bump in the road at highway speed it will start a very violent shake that caused me to veer into the next lane. This has happened many times towing my rv or not towing. This truck has 61,000 miles on it. It has the tie rod recall done, the steering gear box replaced, several alignments and the problem continues. This truck is very dangerous to drive at highway speed ( 65 mph ). It passed alignment at brandon dodge and big o tire company. I am now afraid to pull my rv and even drive this truck on any highway. I have done much research on this issue and chrysler claims this issue has been fixed. These trucks are built and claim to be able to tow very heavy loads. They are extremely dangerous to drive and the only way to get the shaking to stop is to slow to 25 to 30 miles per hour while being on an interstate highway. This a very dangerous problem that fiat chrysler has claimed to be fixed, but its not fixed through the current recall. Please help my self as well as many heavy duty chrysler owners to get this problem repaired. Thankyou!

I received a recall in the mail stating that the vehicle needed to be inspected, and that a failure could result in loss of control and crashing. Made appointment to have vehicle inspected. Vehicle was inspected and found that the left tie rod end needs to be replaced. The dealership informed us that the part was not available and was on "intergalactic backorder." i contacted chrysler and asked about a timeline and they stated that the arrival date of the replacement parts was uncertain. I asked if the vehicle was safe to drive since the tie rod is such an important part of the steering assembly and i was told that it was up to the discretion of the driver. I asked about them providing a loaner vehicle, beings that it is a safety concern and our family's primary vehicle, their reply was that they couldn't do that. I feel that it is a safety concern for my family and i, and that it is the responsibility of the chrysler company to repair the vehicle that i purchased from them, or provide a safe and comparable vehicle until the repairs can be made.
I have received a recall for my truck n49/nhtsa 13v-529 relating to the steering failure.i was mailed this recall in december of 2013 and in january 2014 made an appointment to have the problem fixed. I have now been told that the parts required are being held back and only shipped to each dealer 1 part every 7 days. I am presently #12 on my dealers list.this means that my truck will be on-safe to drive for the next 12 weeks not counting the time prior.this is unacceptable, especially now finding that chrysler was aware of the problem even before i purchased it.i need my truck this isn't a wish it's a fact! i have called the chrysler group recall assistance center and have been issued a case number.steering failure could result in death not only to the occupants of the vehicle but other vehicle on the road.this is serious and needs to be addressed immediately.presently i am having the vehicle inspected by my local dealer to insure the defective parts are not on-safe at this time. But there is no assurance that they won't be in the future.
Left tie rod snapped causing complete loss of control. The shock absorber that is bolted to the gear box control rod from the right tie rod to the left was busted causing oil to leak out. This occurred while i was reversing into my driveway going a very slow speed. I was just at the dodge dealership today in regards this recall on a recall and the associates at the dodge dealership located in beeville texas advised me to bring my vehicle back in two to three months because there were others ahead.

I have been on the repair list at the dealership in bryan, tx since march 7, 2014 to have the left tie rod replaced.when i called them today to see where i was on the list i am #158.the dealerships are only getting repair kits as they complete repairs.they cannot order the kit as a customer asks for the repair.this is a very dangerous issue.this truck is used to haul cattle - loss of control of the vehicle could be fatal.dodge ram is seriously behind in providing parts to fix their recall issues.

Was driving down street, stopped to back into driveway and steering linkage broke. This was a factory recall problem (n49/nhtsa 13v-529). I have been on a waiting list for parts since february, 2014. I have been told the parts were backordered and i would be notified when parts were available. When my truck was sitting in their service entrance (via tow truck) they suddenly had the parts. I was told by a service writer at hoyte dodge, durant, oklahoma that they would not let him do the repairs until the dealership had it's own alignment machine. Had this broke at highway speeds, the result could have been catastrophic.
I've been experiencing this "wobble" or vibration/shake issue for about a year in the front end.while driving down the interstate i hit an expansion joint and the front end shook and wobbled in a way that didn't seem right. I took it to the dealer the next day and asked for a full inspection. They said everything was fine. I continued to drive the truck and experienced the issue every so often and it kept getting worse.i thought it might be the front steering stabilizer so i changed it. No difference. I changed all 4 shocks. No difference. I thought maybe it was the tires which were close to the end of their mileage life. Still experienced the same issue. I took it to another dealer who inspected it and said it was the track bar. I asked if the failure could have anything to do with the tie rod recall and was told no. They replaced the part with my permission.the steering seemed tighter. At first it seemed to have solved the issue.a few months later i hit an expansion joint and got what people refer to as the "death wobble" - the front end shook so bad i had to slow down to about 30 miles and hour before it smoothed back out. I took the truck back to my regular dealer. They kept my truck 4 days - they said they took it out a few times and finally experienced the issue i reported. They said the drag link joints were loose. Again i asked if this could have anything to do with the tie rod recall and was told no. After a thorough test drive i still don't feel the issue is fixed - it's better, but not gone completely. I am headed back to the dealer in the morning.i know the roads everywhere suffer from lack of regular upkeep but i cannot understand how a truck with less than 80,000 miles could possibly need to have these parts replaced so soon - especially for the premium price i paid for the vehicle.
I'm getting the runaround from dodge (corporate) on the recall (n49/nhtsa 13v-529).dodge says its the dealers that weren't doing rhea work, the dealers say they are not able to get parts from dodge to do the work.if this is a safety recall, dodge should make all efforts to get the parts to the dealers, not one or two at a time, what happened to the as a safety issue?

Driving thru death valley national park titus canyon, a 26 mile graded road, the power steering quit working.at the low speeds i had to drive, numerous switchbacks and slow going, is was almost impossible to the steer this new vehicle.i checked the belts, oil level and felt the pump to see if it was hot and all were ok.it took being parked overnite to get the steering to come back.it has been in the dealer since 01/25/12 and they have found nothing wrong.contacted ram service meghan case # 21827429 @ 800-763-8422.as of now they just want me to pick up the vehicle, as nothing they can do.i do not want this to happen to someone else, as this is a very dangerous issue. Have experienced a wobble in the steering since new, especially when backing.dealer could never duplicate it.while backing to the right in july it repeated, feeling like a wheel was loose.again, on the highway on a right hand ramp at approximately 40mph it was so severe i had to slow down to 15 mph to regain control.every right hand turn afterwards it repeated, eventually doing it in both right and left lane changes.dealer inspected and determined the front stabilizer was defective and was replaced.test drive indicated a slight wobble, but improved.the following week the problem returned.i parked the truck as unsafe and contacted the dealer and took it in on the next monday.upon inspection the mechanic "could not duplicate the problem".i refused to take it back until they corrected.the dealer kept it until thursday when they then state they could now feel the wobble and the mechanic thought it was the front axle hubs and parts were ordered.the truck was finished on that friday. They dealer stated the front drive shaft u joints were both frozen and were replaced.note there is a notice on the engine cowling stating those joints had to be regularly lubricated using a needle grease fitting.the dealer performing the service says it is impossible to reach the spot without disassembly of the truck frame.even though ram trained mechanics at dealers performed the lub per the service schedule it apparently has never been cared for.from the notice on the engine it is obvious that ram is aware of the problem and instead of correcting the design they placed a label telling the dealer to lubricate an inaccessible fitting.this is a dangerous defect in the vehicle.
Around september 2014 i was driving 45 mph. The road i was on curved to the right. As i was coming out of the curve my steering wheel would not move back the the center position. I had to force it to the center position. A safety recall was issued by dodge to correct the issue. Ever since the the repair was made i have had to have my pick up aligned twice. The truck now has 63000 miles. Not sure what is going on. I will still buy ram trucks as i am a loyal customer but i am little leery of the steering system on this one.

I experienced the dodge "death wobble" on two occasions during a short drive yesterday.first was on an on-ramp to the right with a slight incline at a speed of approximately 50mph - denver area northbound c470 ramp to i70 eastbound.i crossed an expansion joint at a very slight angle to the vehicle, and immediately experienced a totally unexpected violent wobble in the front end with a near total loss of control.it was frightening!i lightly applied brakes with no immediate wobble reduction.i slowed, and at perhaps 30 mph, the front end stabilized and i was able to continue.a few miles later on i70 i took the ramp - again to the right but on a modest incline this time - to highway 58 westbound.i was still wary and when crossing an expansion joint i again experience the same death wobble, not as bad, but i was expecting it and i was going a little more slowly.this is a scary design flaw with a popular name:"death wobble."the service writer that i spoke with at a local dealer wasn't even aware of this as a frequent issue (he owns the same model).there are a few aftermarket kits available to correct this flaw with beefier components at some considerable cost.my truck has only 16800 miles; the tires were rotated and balanced about 3k miles ago.

Vehicle continues to exhibit extreme and uncontrollable front-end vibration when turning over a bump or groove in the road at speeds over 25 mph ("death wobble") subsequent to the n49 recall finally being performed on said vehicle on 10/9/14.the vibration continues until the vehicle is slowed to a stop.this vehicle is used to tow a fifth-wheel trailer in excess of 18,000 lbs, which is understood to exacerbate this defect and cause a loss of steering control and crashes that would affect numerous other vehicles on the road at the same time necessarily resulting in serious injury and/or death to the occupants of those vehicles.
From 45 to 70 mph. If you hit a bump just right in the road it will cause the steering to violently shake and have to slow to 30 mph to bring back to normal. Ball joints steering stabilizer track bar have all been replaced truck had been to shop for alignment. Tires were put on around 90k and truck had around 98k when death wobble started happening i do not feel safe hauling anything with this vehicle or having my family ride with me.

Received recall notice (n49 / nhtsa 13v-529) in late dec 2013.was informed to call for repair after jan. 6, 2014, was put on list.as of july 28, 2014 i was informed that the dealership is only receiving 1 to 2 parts per week and that they were just starting page 7 of repair list and that i am at the bottom of page 11.i use this vehicle on a daily basis in my business moving heavy equipment and am concerned for my and other motorist safety. More needs to be done (more than 1 to 2 parts per week) to fix this recall.

N49 / nhtsa 13v-529; #2 of the recall states they will repurchase your vehicle. We took that option. It was inspected by michael (xxxx) around 09/14/18. 09/18/18 we were offered $13,558 by jasmine (xxxxx). Rick (xxxx) signed the offer 09/25/18. Copy of the title front and back was faxed to 844-840-3737 per their request. A 10 day payoff was faxed by usaa. As of today 11/09/18, 2:30pm dodge agent has not contacted me to turn this vehicle in. November 1st i spoke with someone at 800-583-1403, ref# 57174908 (case number) and they assured me that linda (xxx) received the paperwork 10/19/18 and that it would settle soon. I was advised by someone at dodge and also jasmine that the check had already been cut. Jasmine also called and assured me that we would settle by friday 11/09/18. I called dodge today and now they say the check is in process. I reminded them that all their calls are recorded and that i was requesting to speak with a supervisor. They inform me none are available. I advised i want a return phone call by 3pm today. That i continue to get the run around and then lied to about whether the check is or has not been processed yet. I sent jasmine an email and reminded her she said this would only take 10 days and now as of today it is 45 days since the process has started. I have a copy of our signed agreement. You can request a copy of all my phones call from dodge and jasmine (xxxxxx). I have had 2 strokes, my husband died october 6th this year. This whole episode is a tremendous about of stress on me. I started crying one of my phone calls to dodge. They should never agreed to the buy back if their intention was to drag their feet. A week after purchasing this vehicle, my wife complained about the steering not feeling right.as i continue to use the vehicle i notice some vibration on the steering wheel, but didn't think much of it being a problem because this is our first pickup truck and the stereotype is all pickup trucks ride ruff.now some time have past and a few thousand miles later the steering vibration is getting worse and now i'm starting to suspect something is wrong.as i went underneath the vehicle to check the front suspension i notice the new tires which came with the vehicle when purchase was completely worn on the inside threads after 8k miles.i did some research on the net to find out that a lot of users of this vehicle are experiencing what's known as the (depth wobble).i first called dodge mfg. And complained about this issue and they inform me that this is an ongoing issue.they told me to bring to a dealer and gave me a case #.i brought the vehicle back to the dealer where it was purchased.all they did was a wheel alignment which they charge me and said they wouldn't replace the tires.well this vehicle is still doing the same thing! only 40k miles on this vehicle and we really are not happy campers!
While driving at speeds between 50-70 mph i have run across small bumps or holes that cause either front wheel to shake uncontrollably causing me to have to reduce speed dramatically or even stop to get it back under control. I understand this is called the "dodge death wobble".

Was notified of recall chrysler n49,nhtsb 3v 529000,in dec 2013. Notice stated call your dealer in 1st week of jan 2014. I have been waiting now 3 months for part to come in to dealer. Was informed by dealer that the new part has been recalled. The dealer says they have been told by chrysler that when the parts are released by chrysler, only 1 part will be sent to the dealer every other week. My dealer needs over 200 to fill the order that are now waiting. Do the math, that means it will be over 7 years to fill the orders. Is this a safety issue or not. If it is, should i park the truck. Is nhtsb going to fine chrysler for not taking care of the recall. Can nhtsb force chrysler to replace my truck. If it is unsafe to drive.

Truck has been recalled 3 times now for the same problem.steering tie rod broke while driving after the first recall in july 2013.the part got recall again in december of 2013 for the same part.to this day, there is no replacement part, and chrysler stated there is a danger driving the vehicle.this has been going on since new and i am afraid to drive the truck.

I contacted diehl automotive concerning the recall (n49/nhtsa 13v-529)the left tie rod ball stud on this truck may fracture under certain driving conditions.this would cause a loss of directional control and/or crash without warning.the service man said that he could only get the parts from dodge at a rate of (1) per week.that means that i will have to go approximately one year before i get this repaired.this sounds like another gm screw up where it will take some lives before the highway safety administration is going to do something. It's now time to expose you all once again to the news media. Why would i have thought anything else from a government organization.updated 07/28/14

While driving down the hwy.upon hitting a pot hole or expantion joint the truck developes a violent shake and or wobble in the steering wheel and the entire vehicle shakes uncontrollably. My local dodge dealer replaced the sway bar shock on the sway bar arm and inspected the remaining parts on the front of the truck finding them in good condition. After the before mentioned work was performed the shake and or wobble is still present. It is truelly a "death wobble" as the driver has little to no control of the vehicle for a time and could easily become envolved in or cause an accident possibly being fatal.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6)

There is excessive play in the steering. The truck constantly wanders when driven down the road. Constant steering correction is required. The excessive play is approximately 3 inches of steering wheel input before the wheels start to turn (this applies whether stationary or being driven).

Chrysler issued a recall notice in the middle of december 2013. We where instructed not to call until january 6, 2014. I called on the 8th and was informed that no parts where available. I called again today and was told the same thing by my local dealership and chrysler. On the notice it states " the left tie rod ball stud on your truck may fracture under certain driving conditions. This may cause loss of directional control and/or crash without warning." we use our vehicle everyday and also tow our race car trailer with it. I feel it is completely unacceptable that there is no parts available if chrysler issued the recall. I do not want to chance injuring myself or my family, or someone else on the road due to the carelessness of chrysler. I just want this changed before anything happens. This needs to be resolved and it doesn't appear that is happening anytime soon.

Received the n49/nhtsa 13v-529 recall notice from chrysler sometime in jan. 2014. I took the truck to the dealership on feb. 17, 2014.i was told there was a limited supply of the replacement part(s) and they would have to put my name on a list, then they would contact me when the part was available and my name was next in line for the repair.in july 2014, i received a duplicate notice from chrysler.i called the dealer today (aug. 21, 2014) to find out if i was still on the list.my name is approx. 87 on the list remaining and they were only able to do 2 repairs a day, in part because their building is under construction for an expansion.i believe waiting over 6 months for a repair that could be potentially dangerous is unreasonable.in one week, 8/28/2014, i have planned (for several months) to go on a camping trip, with my trailer camper, and staying in a remote campground with no cell phone service.i will need to back into the camping space which usually has tight spaces to maneuver (the conditions when the tie rod is most likely to break).the person i talked to at the dealership told me that if the tie rod broke i would be moved to the top of the list, which was not comforting!

I have received 2 recalls for the left tie rod ball stud. First one in january. I have been on a waiting list since february. Right now i am still 56th in line to get this fixed. We haul a 4 horse trailer with living quarters all over the eastern states. This is a safety issue. If this broke, the horses and people in the track could get badly hurt or die. I was told chrysler is only allowing 1 tie rod to get fixed per week. At this rate, it will next year at this time before i get my truck fixed. Can you help us?
The left tie rod on the front drivers side broke.this was after the part had been recalled in march of 2012 which was taken in and serviced the same month per the notice.i was returning my fifth wheel to storage when the tie rod snapped.backing in slowly no more than 5 mph. Needless to say i refuse to tow my 5th wheel anymore with the ram 3500 as had it broke while on highway at a high rate of speed could have resulted in injuries and potential fatalities.i am trying to confirm if dodge has addressed this issue for 2013 as there are many others on forums that have had the same tie rod failures.

The contact was informed of a recall for nhtsa campaign number: 11v350000 (steering) but was told her vin was not included. A dealer was notified of the failure and assumed the tow and repair cost. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure and current mileage was 65,000.updated 09/05/13*lj

Left tie rod ball stud needs to be replaced.have been waiting for 6 months for the local dealer in columbia, ms. For replacement.dealer says the part is not available.the chrysler group recall representative says the part is not available and does not know when it will be available.
The contact owns a 2011 dodge ram 3500. The contact received nhtsa campaign number: 13v529000( steering) in december of 2013. The contact stated that he contacted both the dealer and the manufacturer on multiple occasions and was informed that the part was still not available. The contact had not experienced a failure.
Took truck to love dodge dealership in march 2014 was told they did not have the parts to fix it. Also was told they would call me by the end of april they never called. When i called back they told me the new part was also recalled . To this day i have not heard from them.
I called around to multiple dealerships in my area to have a recall completed and every dealership told me that the part was back ordered and they couldn't fix it. I went to my local tire and lube shop to inquiry about the part and it was available same day at a parts store in town. For being a recall that could seriously injure or kill somebody, the dealerships didn't seem to care much about getting it fixed or helping direct us on what to do. I had my local tire and lube shop fix the issue in a day.
We received a recall notice last year and were told to contact a dodge dealership on january 6, 2014 which we did.they informed us that the replacement parts for the recall had a recall.we have now received a 2nd notice for the recall.have called vasko dodge in mcmurray, panow a total of four times and cannot seem to get any answers.at this stage i am in fear of not only my life, but the lives of my children driving around in an unsafe vehicle. Can we get any answers???and more particularly a name of a certified dodge garage that the vehicle can be taken tobe properly fixed???it's been eight months now.i would appreciate any insight whatsoever for i'm overly concerned at this point.thank you in advance for your time and attention.i welcome any help at all.
The track bar on the front suspension came loose and started to shake the truck violently making me loose control and go into a ditch.
At 34500 miles. The front suspension "track bar" was completely worn out.as a result at 40 mph (hwy 2 in mt driving straight in the east bound lane) i experienced such a vibration that the truck was uncontrollable and my only option was to slow down without braking.luckily there were no oncoming traffic so no accident or damage to the truck occurred, thank god. I replaced the track bar and the steering damper as well and the truck is now fine.i did some research on this only to discover that chrysler has know about this problem for over a decade, yet the problem still exists.when talking to a dealer in idaho, i was told that the dodge death wobble is common. This is dangerous.the truck shook so bad that everything was blurry until the wobble stopped.
While driving at speeds between 50-70 mph i have run across small bumps or holes that cause either front wheel to shake uncontrollably causing me to have to reduce speed dramatically or even stop to get it back under control. I understand this is called the "dodge death wobble".

The contact owns a 2011 dodge ram 3500. The contact stated that upon inspection, it was found that the front axle of the vehicle had fractured. The vehicle was taken to a dealer and the mechanic stated that the front axle had to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 66,000.
The contact owns a 2011 dodge ram 3500. The contact stated that while driving 65 mph over a small bump, the vehicle started to shake violently. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 21,000.
This truck has developed a dramatic shimmy/wobble in the front end when driving at freeway speeds 70 mph and hitting bumps or expansion joints. Dealership has replaced steering damper but that did not fix the situation.

We went to the dealership on august 4th, 2013, and they told us that we do need this recall fixed.however, they also said there was a shortage of the replacement parts.fast forward over a year, and we are still on the waiting list for a replacement part.this is unacceptable!
It takes several attempts to start the vehicle. There is a problem with the ignition switch. It has to be in the perfect spot for the engine to fire. With in the past week, the truck will no shut down while driving. Fortunately all incident have been on dirty streets .

W 17, 2018 my husband stopped on the shoulder of a two laneroad and believes he put the truck in park; the engine was still running. He removed his foot from the brake, unbuckled his seat belt, opened the door and stepped onto the ground. At that point the truck began to roll forward.he ran to try to catch it and fell. The leftrear dual ran over his left foot, right ankle, and up the back of the right leg as far as the hip.the truck was parked on level ground but rolled slightly to the right, into a shallow ditch or depression.slight elevation on the other side of the ditch stopped the forward motion 20 or 30 feet from the point at which it began.when my husband eventually reached the truck it was in drive. If he neglected to put the truck in park, why did it not begin to roll as soon as he removed his foot from the brake? there were no rocks or impediments of any kind to prevent it. Can this be related to the shift interlock safety recall, 17v-821? chrysler does not believe so. That part has now been replaced but we are wary about using the truck. Are there other reported incidents of this type?
The contact owns a 2011 dodge ram 3500. The contact was driving under 10 mph when the engine stalled. The contact stated that the throttle warning light illuminated prior to the failure. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The manufacturer was contacted. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 4,875 and the current mileage was 5,600.
