While in motion on highways and city streets, the uconnect 4c nav system will freeze, reboot or malfunction preventing control of the stereo volume (cannot turn down or off), prevent management of towing settings, disables controls for seat and steering wheel heating (cannot turn off or change preferences), obstructs bluetooth call management, disrupts vehicle navigation systems and blocks climate control management.it also visually distracts the driver by repeated flashing a large screen on and off with no ability to turn off or disable it and creates an inhospitable environment for safe driving.here is a video that shows this behavior: https://www.dropbox.com/s/mqliwexmqqmcsvf/img_4208.mov?dl=0

Vehicle has push button start. I start the vehicle and leave running in the morning to defrost. When i went back to the vehicle i unlocked it with the fob while i was walking thru the garage. Stopped in the garage to pick something up and accidentally dropped the fob. Got in the vehicle and drove off. Why does the vehicle allow me to put it in gear without the fob. If i had had remote start and had started it with remote start the vehicle would have stopped running and would not have gone into drive without having the key fob in the vehicle. I expected it to work this way when i manually started it. Why does it not. This is a safety issue and could be fixed with a software upgrade before someone gets hurt. The technology should be made as safe as possible and in this case could easily be made safer. (the vehicle was running in my driveway and i was on the highway at 70 mph when i realized i did not have the fob).

Started my truck today and within a minute of driving it out my driveway i smelled something burning and saw smoke. The electrical wiring harness under the front drivers seat was on fire. Had to put the fire out with a bottle of water. Calling my local ram dealership in the morning to have it towed there.*dt

My 2019 ram 2500 limited has the forward collision warning system, however, the system does not function as sold or intended.i have taken the vehicle to multiple dealerships in an attempt to resolved the issue, however neither the dealerships nor fca has any idea how to resolve.fca customer service believes it may be software related, but currently has no idea when/if a solution will arise.currently the vehicle sensors do not seem to function at all, and the vehicle absolutely could not prevent a forward collision if required.all advertising and owner's manual documentation state the vehicle can and should be able to prevent a forward collision, and i believe this misrepresentation could prove hazardous to both vehicle owners and other drivers on the road if the system does not function as advertised on both the internet website for ram trucks, or the owner's manual provided with these vehicles.

The contact owns a 2019 ram 2500. While driving 65 mph, the rpms increased and the engine revved. The contact released the accelerator pedal and manually shifted the gears in order to return to the correct reading. In addition, the computer system that controlled the radio and camera would glitch and hesitated to change views. Also, while driving approximately 40 mph in an intersection, the vehicle suddenly accelerated, despite depressing the brake pedal. The contact stated that the ignition and check engine warning indicators illuminated. The contact was able to pull the vehicle over to the side of the road and shifted into park; however, the vehicle continued to rev as if the accelerator pedal were depressed. When the contact turned off and restarted the vehicle, all the warning indicators illuminated and the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was towed to crown motors (located at 555 cypress ave, redding, ca 96001, 888-755-5922) where it was diagnosed that the egr valve closed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. While driving 45 mph uphill, the vehicle stalled without warning. The contact was able to pull the vehicle over to the side of the road where it came to a rolling stop. The contact stated that the accelerator and brake pedals failed. The contact had the vehicle towed to the same dealer to be diagnosed, but no codes were found. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failures and provided case number: 64570388. The approximate failure mileage was 300.

Complete reset and coding of all functions governed by the computer system and then a complete shutdown while driving at over 70mph.all systems were indicated to need service.this happened twice on the 17th and has happened once previously.

While driving in a 40mph zone, the electronic throttle control (etc)light came on and the truck accelerated uncontrollably. After braking and getting the vehicle stopped, it was shut off and restarted. The etc light went out but the check engine light came on. Made an appointment with the dealer the next day and while en route to the dealer, the etc light came on, this time resulting in a power loss. It happened while entering a highway ramp, and could only get the vehicle speed gradually up to 40. Dealer attempted to clear codes and repair, but kept vehicle overnight for a test drive. During the dealer test drive, the etc light came on and the problem occurred again. So far there hasn't been a resolution, but the vehicle is unsafe to drive. It is a brand new 2019, with only approximately 400 miles on it, owned less than a week.

While installing side steps found an unprotected wiring harness under the truck, just behind the left front wheel. After looking closer at the wires found a wire with nicked insulation, conductor was showing.didn't cause a problem, yet, however having a bundle of unprotected wiring in this location creates the potential to disable the vehicle if tire kicked something up from road and severed the wires. I didn't report this to dealer, i taped the wires to protect them from further damage.

Two different times while driving the vehicle stalled. Both times it was broken wires to the fuel pump. One had rubbed on something causing the break, not sure why the other one broke. I was on a highway both times. First time it happened was around 11/19/2020 the. Again on 12/11/2020

The contact owns a 2019 ram 2500. The contact stated that while attempting to reverse into the garage, the gear shifter was placed in reverse, the steering was turned to the extreme right, and the engine stalled without warning. The contact stated that the failure was more prevalent when the steering wheel was turned clockwise to the extreme right and the vehicle was in reverse.the contact was able to restart the vehicle. The vehicle was not taken to be diagnosed. New holland chrysler dodge jeep ram located at 508 w main st, new holland, pa 17557, (717)354-4901, was contacted and informed of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent. The manufacturer was contacted and informed of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 4,730.

Uconnect 12" screen repeatedly restarts without notice. Vehicle navigation, climate control. Backup camera, 360 degree camera, bluetooth phone and seat controls are all tied into the uconnect system.

Cp4 pump noise

Truck making ticking noise from engine from fuel pressure pump cp4?? makes noise at idle and when in motion sometimes jerks and stalls

2 different noises clicking noise from front of engine could be fan clutch or a pulley and ticking noise could be cp4 pump??

Pulley on the engine squeaks after cold starts.

This safety recall occurred in january 2020 and i received notice from dodge ram (chrysler). I have called dealers in st george and las vegas who have told me the same: they only get a few parts per week or two to fix the problem and placed me on the dealers "waiting list." i have been on the waiting list for four months!this is a safety warning regarding possible fire on my new vehicle. Further inquiry by myself has revealed the following:1. Chrysler dodge ram is not producing adequate numbers of the simple part thereby jeopardizing safety of purchasers and their family/friends. 2. The few parts that chrysler dodge does produce goes to vehicles on the lot so that they can sell these vehicles asap. This shows no regard for the safety of prior purchasers.to think that chrysler dodge cannot order / produce the part in mass quantities when they knew the recall was coming is nonsense. By the way, this is in regards to the w03 2019-2020 safety recall.

I just purchased a used 2019 ram on day two check engine light comes on loss of power while driving at highway speed. Dealer is telling me it is codep0299 they checked and cleared code. Now 12/18/ back with dealer for same code p0299 and loss of power or going 8nto limp mode.

I started my pickup and pulled out of garage put in park to close my garage door and with 2-3 minutes at idle, smoke was coming into the cab, got out of vehicle and opened hood and found flames coming from fuel injection pump area, was able to get fire out before it burnt the truck completely.

Truck has cp4 fuel injector pump.pump can fail without warning. When it fails the pump distroys the fuel rail system.truck can then leave the occupants in a dangerous situation.when pump shuts down the engine you loose steering and brakes. You also loose the exhaust brake feature.has not happened on my truck. These pumps will fail at some point.

This vehicle is equipped with led headlights and fog lights.under winter driving conditions (snow or freezing rain) ice will accumulate on the lenses of these lights and visibility is greatly reduced to very unsafe levels.this is something i have never experienced before on any vehicle i operated in similar conditions, usually the headlights produce enough heat to keep the lenses melted and visibility is not effected.i notified ram mutable about this but they have refused to offered any sort of fix.i feel this is a design flaw and the manufacturer did not take into account these conditions which are not uncommon in the climates these vehicles are sold.i feel this needs to be addressed by the manufacturer and a fix needs be made available to all vehicles with these same lights.i am no expert but know this could be easily addressed by adding a heating element to the lenses.this vehicle, as well as all others with these same headlights are extremely unsafe to drive in the winter with this flaw.

The 2019 to 2020 model year ram 2500 heavy duty equipped with a 6.7l cummins diesel engine has a major safety issue that could cause a stall and increase the risk of a crash. The bosch cp4.2 fuel injection pump has a very high rate of sudden failure leading to immediate stoppage on the engine and engine braking system. The pump destroys itself and takes out the rest of the entire fuel system leading to repairs in the $20,000 usd range. Fca & ram have attempted to revise the pump in late (july) 2020 to solve the issue but the failures keep occurring. For the 2021 model year, fca & ram have changed the pump entirely and reverted back to using an older, safer, more reliable design. No public announcements of neither the pump revision in 2020, nor the pump change in 2021 have been made. The issue is so prevalent that the replacement pumps and repairs generally have a 30-90 day wait period where the customer is without the primary vehicle. This problem is a substantiated safety risk. According to a texas judge in a bosch cp4.2 lawsuit, when another automaker, gm tried to dismiss the case saying the pump failure is not a safety issue, the court responded: "the worst case scenario of a truck spontaneously stalling at high speeds is not a mere inconvenience. Nor is it a mere inconvenience to spend between $8,000 to $20,000 on repairs to make the trucks fit for their ordinary purpose. The court rejects gm's suggestion that the risk of spontaneous engine failure while driving is not, as a matter of law, unreasonably dangerous, depriving the vehicles of fitness for their purpose of transportation.". Toyota agrees: "if a vehicle stall occurs while driving at higher speeds, this could increase the risk of a crash". Fca & ram have remedied the situation for the 2021 model year, however the 2019 and 2020 owners are still at risk. The nhtsa needs to force the hand of fca to recall.

Cp4 pump noise

Reference cummins diesel motors in ram 2500 and 3500in model year 2019, ram made the switch to a bosch cp4 high pressure injection pump.(for model year 2021, ram hasswitched back to the cp3 utilized prior to 2019)this pump is prone to sudden and catastrophic failure, which renders the vehicle immediately immobile.this can result in loss of control, inability to maneuver out of harms way and ultimately serious bodily injury.

Transmission intermittently drops out of gear. Most of the time this is when in reverse and moving backwards. All of a sudden you realize you are no longer moving backwards and in some cases rolling forward. On one occasion is has popped out of gear and stopped moving forward leaving me half out of a parallel parked space with oncoming traffic. These incidents occur approximately once a month. In every case on failure when you look at the gear selector it has a flashing light.

I purchased a 2019 ram 2500 truck, and began having issue with the truck dropping into neutral at just over 1000 miles. I went to the dealer and they checked codes, but i didn't make sure they documented it. It seemed to only happen when going in reverse and turning, so i continued to drive it. Then at 6670 miles it happened while driving and in an intersection.i had come to a stop at a light, then when the light turned green i proceeded to turn right.i got about 10 feet into the turn and the truck acted like it went into neutral.i was able to coast to the side of the road and the message that was on the dash stated shift into park, then into desired gear.i did and was able to drive off the road and into a parking spot of a nearby business.i brought the truck in and they opened a star case. Eventually they changed the transmission valve body and reprogrammed several things. They told me the problem was solved.at 9059 miles it happened again. This time i was backing into a driveway so i was able to pull out my phone and take a video of the flashing light over the shifter and in the cluster.the first incident happened on 1/13/2020 with 1520 miles on vehicle.the incident in the intersection happened on 5/21/2020 with 6670 miles on the odometer.the last incident happened on 7/7/2020 with 9059 miles on the odometer.

I received a safety recall notice for my transmission. I called the dealer and they cannot get me in for six months. This is a large dealer, ram of the west in lancaster, ca. A safety issue should not be delayed for half a year!

Having vibration issues in rear end not caused by tire balance(3 new sets of 4 tires in under 5000 miles). Noticed u-joints have no visible means of holding them in place.was told they are held by injected plastic although they have grooves for snap rings to hold them in place. Appears one of u-joint caps has moved slightly out causing vibrations at higher speeds. Upon examining several 2020 three quarter ton pickups, ram is the only one not using snap rings to hold u-joints in place. This is not a safe way to be holding a critical drive train component in place.this vibration happens at 45 mph and higher on different types of pavement...this is something other than your empty pickup rough ride. It sometimes will go away when i hit the accelerator or slow to under 45mph.4 pics included show cap 1 moved out slightly so snap ring can't be installed compared to other 3(this is more than likely the problem). Pic 5 shows dealer saying nothing is wrong even though you can see clearly cap has moved out of place in only 5200 miles. Have more pictures showing this cap leaking grease too. Dealer said unable to duplicate in 4 miles of driving. That's not enough and more than likely not on highway at speed long enough to make this vibration happen. That cap moved out like it has will cause vibrations as the drive shaft is spinning close to 250mph or more while driving at 70mph.

The cause of the failure was not determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were not yet notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 1,900.

The retractor on the seatbelt don't retract you have to feed the seatbelt back in the hole in order for it to stay in your car. If i try to pull really hard the seatbelt dose not stop 3/5 time you pull it. If an accident happensto my family it will be on the hands of ram.

The drivers seat belt doesn't retract on it own. I'm constantly having to pull the extra slack back to allow it to retract. It get hung up on the adjustable loop on the pillar. The extra slack makes it so when yo unstop short (or crash) the belt won't lock to keep you from flying forward

Power steering continues to go out, vibration and "sticking" as i press the brake, and clunking in the suspension. Dealership cannot figure it out!!!!! vibration occurs constantly, more so on start up. Clunking occurs when going around a turn at any mph. I have videos to show both issues!

Left side front brake fell off when i stopped to park. Front side pad. Like it was ejected.

The contact owns a 2019 ram 2500vehicle rolled awaycrashed into a 2nd vehiclefaulty transmission and brake systemthe contact stated that after stopping on a very slight incline and switching the transmission to the park position with the engine still running the occupants exited the vehicle and the vehicle suddenly rolled forward crashing into a second vehicle. During the incident the owner re-enter the vehicle and pressed the brake pedal but the vehicle did not stop. No injuries were reported. No police report was taken. The cause of the failure was not determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were not yet notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 1,900.

I received a "important safety recall" (drag link) notice (w49/nhtsa 20e-043) in the mail. I scheduled for repair 8/6/20. Per the dealership there are no recalls on this vehicle. Now i'm a little concerned about what to do.i have a 2018 ram 3500 that had this same recall and was repaired by welding a nut on the drag link.i'm notifying my insurance underwriter just in case an accident related to this occurs. What am i to do now ???, i'm not feeling very safe for me and my family at this point. Can i ask ram for a refund and to take this truck back or am i to be under the mental stress of when is this going to cause me to have a wreck and maybe loose members of my family and or my life and god forbid some other persons life. What am i to do ???.help me please. Thank you

Power steering continues to go out, vibration and "sticking" as i press the brake, and clunking in the suspension. Dealership cannot figure it out!!!!! vibration occurs constantly, more so on start up. Clunking occurs when going around a turn at any mph. I have videos to show both issues!

Exited freeway on offramp, came to an intersection waiting to turn right. When i started right turn, i noticed that the steering radius appeared to be blocked or significantly diminished as i couldn't adequately turn right, and was leaning hard on the wheel, so the turn was too wide given the loss of steering to the right. The steering returned to normal operation after the vehicle continued straight.

Hood vibrates and lifts like it's going to come off

The hood of the vehicle moves around substantially in turbulent air on the highway. It looks like it is coming loose, but it isn't. For instance following a semi, or in windy conditions. The date on this form is random because it happens all the time.

The tail gate opened and was damaged while towing a dump trailer. I know that i slammed it shut, because it doesn't shut all the way if i don't slam it.

This is my second submitted complaint about the tailgate coming open while driving and towing.have made two complaints to chrysler and taken to dealer.however, nothing is being done because they drive it 10 miles and "can not replicate".even though they acknowledge extensive recall history on earlier models for same problem.i have now damaged my truck with 5k miles on it and my camper when it came open in tow.

The tailgate has issues closing and the supports meaning the wire that supports the tailgates when it is deployed one will have tension on it and the other is loose.the tailgate support cables are the same length.i think it has to do with the bed being worked.i have reported it to huffines dodge dealer and they said there is no fix.the tale gate has opened when in use due to the latch / tail gate not closing correctly because of the out of square bed.

Front cab is not aligned straight with bed.. Looks like cab or bed is shifted.

Rambox lid appliques keep de-laminating, even after new tape and adhesive promoter is applied by dealer, per recall.4th time at the dealer for this issue.the foam tape is not adhering due to the curve of the panel.

Our tailgate has opened on its own 4 times while we were driving since we have owned the vehicle.it also has shown a notification on the dash that the tailgate is open, but when checked it is closed. I have a video of this, but i don't know if i can upload it.we bought the vehicle in late 2019 and the first event was in march 2020, and it caused scratches on the plastic top part of the tailgate, as it hit the tongue jack of our camper. The first time, we thought maybe we hadn't closed it hard enough, so we have always made a point to make sure it was shut tight.the second time was on march 14, 2020. The third time was june 20, 2020 and it caused damage to our tailgate.we were in a parking lot making a turn and the tailgate opened, hitting the propane tank of our tow behind camper.it dented the tailgate and damaged the propane tank.i happened again on july 18, 2020.it opens on its own, and it is intermittent.i know that it happened once when we were turning and driving under 10 mph, because that is when/why the body damage happened.this creates an extremely unsafe condition as well because something could fall from our truck bed if the tailgate opens while we are driving on a highway, possibly killing someone or causing an accident.we have reported it to chrysler twice (most recent case number 76765917).we have taken it in twice to the dealer after it happened (most recently on 7/22/2020). And they cannot replicate it so nothing has been done.chrysler advised me to contact corporate via letter.

Body mounts keep going bad. Started making faint noises at 2000 miles and couldnt diagnose. 8000 miles was determined it was the body mounts and had to replace will all updated mounts. 9000 miles noise and clunks from body mounts are back.

Truck has 5000 miles on it.twice now the tailgate has come open while traveling.yesterday 6/22/20, i got home from travel towing camper, and unloaded back of truck.closed tailgate and double checked it to make sure it was closed, do this now after first time.towed camper to storage and while making turn in storage area tailgate had opened on tripand hit camper causing damage to tailgate and camper.

The contact owns a 2019 ram 2500. The contact stated while attempting to enter the vehicle, the driverā€™s side front interior door handle failed and the contact nearly fell to the ground. The contact indicated that a plastic post piece used to bolt and secure the handle had failed. The local dealer and manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 5,300.

The contact owns a 2019 ram 2500. The contact purchased the vehicle from brandon dodge on broadway (5600 s broadway, littleton, co 80121, (303) 794-4205). While driving 45 mph, ten miles away from the dealer, the driver noticed through the rearview mirror that the tailgate opened independently without warning. The contact coasted the vehicle over to the side of the road and closed the liftgate. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer and dealer were not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 55,000.

The contact owns a 2019 ram 2500. The contact stated while driving at undisclosed speeds and coming to a stop, the rear tailgate opened independently without warning. The contact exited the vehicle and closed the tailgate. The vehicle was taken to an unknown dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the tailgate was out of alignment but, refused to provide the repair because the vehicle was not purchased from the dealer. The contact stated that the failure recurred on several occasions. The manufacturer was contacted and informed of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 43,036.

I have the factory rear air suspension, and for the most part, it works very well.there are a coupe of serious safety issues that i believe could easily be resolved with a little programming.with the factory air suspension, it auto-levels.this means you can no longer use how much the truck suspension squats to gauge the load that the truck is carrying.it is important to be able to gauge the amount of weight the truck is carrying, especially when loading a trailer (such as a piece of equipment on the trailer), so that the combination can be safely driven and handle well.the only indication of the weight is when the truck reports "air suspension disable due to payload".this issue could be easily solved with a little programming to show the driver the pressure in the rear air bags on the uconnect/steering wheel display.the other issues comes from when the "air suspension disable due to payload" message has been activated.once activated, the only way to restore the air suspension function is to drive at or above 14mph.this should be able to be reset by the driver, and with the vehicle stationary.if you try to unhook a trailer that has set this message, even after the load has been removed, you have to jack the trailer excessively high as the air suspension does not auto-level and will keep raising until the air bag travel maxes out.once driving the vehicle to reset the suspension and trying to re-hook the trailer, you run out of jack before the trailer sits on the truck ball at it's normal auto-level ride height.this causes a number of safety issues when trying to re-hitch.please look into these safety issues with the auto-level suspension of the ram, as i believe both are easily solvable with nothing more than a software update.i have had this happen several times, and it's troubling that it cannot be reset with the truck stationary.

The a/c in this vehicle is inadequate at best.if the vehicle is sun soaked on a hot day, the a/c struggles to cool the vehicle cabin, even after 40+ minute drive.the fan stays on high and never gets the cabin to the set temperature, or even close.on these days, i routinely sweat through my shirt before the cabin gets anywhere close to cool, and this is unacceptable on an 80k vehicle.the a/c in this vehicle is much worse than in the 2016 ram i previously had.this vehicle has the dual zone climate control and is generally set to 62 or 64*, which is never met.the center driver's side vent temp settles right at 55* where the passenger side will settle on 47*.why is there such a significant difference between vent temperature and why doesn't it get to the low 40's like every other modern vehicle i have been in?with the poor cooling, the fan constantly runs at high speeds in an attempt to keep up with the cooling requirement, and in return causes excess driver fatigue.in addition, the vehicle is run for longer periods of time in an attempt to keep the cabin cool, contributing to poorer fuel economy, more wear and tear, and increased emissions.none of these are good.i routinely go out of my way when needing to transport young kids that are still in car seats.if i am not able to be comfortable in a reasonable time frame, i feel there is an increased safety risk to them since they are in large bulky car seats, in a poorly cooling vehicle cab.please look into the poor performance of this a/c system.it is by far the worst performing a/c system of any modern vehicle i have been in.based on the research i have done, i am not the only one who feels the a/c is extremely poor.however, over winter, the heater has worked very well.

Ac is inadequate, blows cool and not cold

Uconnect 12" screen repeatedly restarts without notice. Vehicle navigation, climate control. Backup camera, 360 degree camera, bluetooth phone and seat controls are all tied into the uconnect system.

Both cruise control and adaptive cruise control fail to maintain a constant speed over flat/level roadways. When cruise control or adaptive cruise control are engaged the vehicle constantly decelerates and accelerates to maintain speed.vehicle hvac system is inadequate, blows cool, not cold, blows cooler from passenger side vent impacting operator comfort and increasing fatigue.additionally, it blows cool air through thedefrost panel when it is not needed causing the windshield to fog up.

Def system fails in cold weather and a result is the trucks speed is reduced to 5mph this cant be safe driving down a busy interstate.

Going over bumps on road around 25-40 mph something in back. Sounds like it's coming from rear seats making a banging noise. Some believe it's the cab mounts. Too short or short bolt or something.

The wipers run randomly or in some cases when it's raining the fail to run.

When the a/c is on in any vent mode the cooled air escapes through the front defrost and condensates the windshield constantly having to turn on the wipers to clear the windshield.
