Wire pinched between spare tire and body was shorted out and caught the spare tire on fire. Truck had been parked for over 7 hours. Was told all wires leading to the back are on fuses and should have broken the circuit before a fire began. *cw consumer stated that the owner reported a fire at rear of vehicle in spare tire area and took the vehicle to a body shop. Body shop states a wire was pinched by the spare tire and caused the fire. Updated 9/20/18

Truck starts and dies , truck will not start if it sits for long period of time , no dash lights when this happens , takes about 40 mins to get the key to recognize/get started . When taken to the dealer ship a test was ran and said all things i describe (wrong key phobe, loss communication with igintation )

For the past month, i have had intermittent displays of "service electronic braking system" and "service antilock brake system".when this occurs, the cruise control becomes nonoperational.a check of the internet shows that these problems are widely experienced by dodge ram owners.the display comes on whether sitting or driving.

The contact owns a 2017 ram 2500. When attempting to shift into park, the transmission became stuck in another gear and the vehicle rolled backwards. In addition, the key became stuck in the ignition when the contact attempted to turn off the vehicle. Dick hannah ram truck center (7110 ne fourth plain blvd, vancouver, wa 98661, (360) 342-9371) was called, but would not give any information over the phone. The dealer required the contact to tow in the vehicle at his expense. The manufacturer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 38,500.

The contact owns a 2017 ram 2500. The contact took the vehicle to milton ruben chrysler dodge jeep ram (3508 washington rd, augusta, ga 30907, (888) 885-0415) to have the occupational restriction control module repaired after receiving a letter from the manufacturer. The dealer performed a reprogram update, which caused the seat belt alert not to function when they were unbuckled. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer and the update was performed again. The dealer informed the contact that the seat belt alert would not operate because the vehicle never had a seat belt alert feature. The contact stated that the failure persisted and he was wondering if other safety components would malfunction. The manufacturer was contacted and confirmed what the dealer stated. The failure mileage was 20,954. Consumer stated both attempts to repair the selt belt problem failed. Dashboard icon or cab chime (alarm) does not give a warning sign. Consumer contacted the manufacturer.

Takata recall. The radio in my ram 2500 is not working with my cell phone. The radio freezes until the truck is turned off and restarted. This needs to be addressed

My 2017 ram 2500 had 55k miles when i got a dashboard warning indicating that service of my electronic braking system was needed. I also got warning indicators for abs and traction control. I had poor braking, no traction control and no cruise control when these warning lights were lit. The dealer diagnosed and replaced the abs hydraulic control unit (hcu), costing me $750. My research reveals that this is a common problem with this truck at various levels of mileage, and ram/fca has restricted the distribution of the hcus in recognition of this problem. Ram refuses to acknowledge that this is a product defect. I've owned many other brands of vehicles (bmw, toyota, honda), with varying levels of mileage, and none of them have every experienced a failure in abs components. Ram/fca should acknowledge that these components have a manufacturer's defect and reimburse clients who paid to have the parts replaced.

Evic engine hour counter reset around 37,xxx miles engine hours read 323 idle 18 hours drive happened after sitting over night start the next am dash flickered on and off.

The contact owns a 2017 ram 2500. While driving at various speeds the abs, traction and service electronic brakes warning indicator lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken walker chrysler dodge jeep ram (3739, 5757 coliseum blvd, alexandria, la 71303 (318) 242-1628) where it was diagnosed that the abs control pump and module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 43,000.

When driving the vehicle, the abs and traction control lights simultaneously activate, bells start ringing and a notification in the display screen.the issue started in october of 2019 when still in warranty.the dealer could not find a problem and claimed no codes.starting in december 2019 the issue started more regular, the dealer could not get us in at that time.then the issue quit for a period of time.it has now gotten to be a regular issue and stays active more then not. Occurs mostly driving in just about any condition and speed, has occurred a few times when the vehicle is stationary. The local dealer tells us it is regular occurrence on this type of vehicle. Parts are actually a dealer limited item and not in stock.it has now gotten to where my wife does not want to drive the vehicle.we are working with fca to get some assistance. The dealer tells it need the abs pump (hcu) and controller. $880 for what appears to be defective safety part. Vehicle was at the dealer 3/30/2020 current mileage: 46579note: we have heard from others in this area with the same type of failure and internet searches reveal dozens.we are very happy with the truck and just hope fca/ram does due diligence and takes care of the problem.

Intermittent mil for abs and electronic braking system, became more frequent over 1-2 weeks while waiting for appointment at dealership (out of town).day of the appointment, mil came on and stayed on. Dealer read codes and stated 'internal codes found, replace pump and module' then informed me parts were on 'national backorder' vehicle has 46,500 miles at time of failure.

June 26th 2019 my truck felt like it shifted into 4wd on its own, later that day i lost abs, traction control and cruise control.it went to the dealership where it took 3 days to diagnose.was informed that abs pump and abs control module need to be replaced and the part is not currently available.further research of internet forums shows this is a known problem and does not appear to be addressed properly.i am still waiting for my truck to be repaired and there is a warranty on it. Dealership allowed me to pickup the truck without the repair and did not provide receipts or work orders because i did not have any other transportation.in heavy rain the truck has become quite dangerous to drive.

My abs traction control light came on intermittently prior to 36,000 miles. Took to dealer and they could not find problem. With 42,600 miles lights have come on and set a code. Ram has said they will not fix the problem. A computer has failed. This is a safety issue and should be corrected by ram. I don't know if this is a continuing problem in these trucks or if faulty parts were placed on mine. I want this issue duly noted. The failed parts are the abs module and the hydraulic control unit. Ram has told me that this is my problem when it is in fact their problem which they will not take care of.

The contact owns a 2017 ram 2500. The contact particulate and nox sensor failed in the vehicle. The check engine warning light remained illuminated. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 34,000.

Water pump, took into dealership and they said they replaced water pump but no dust disturbed on engine when popped the hood to look inside the hood when i picked up the truck after getting the recall repair

Vehicle shutters and pauses when taking off from a stop. Vehicle has hesitated during low speed turns leaving a pulsing sensation, engine cutting out. Strong odor of coolant coming from under the hood after deiving.

This is for a diesel engine vehicle. Periodically (every few days), for 2 to 5 minutes at a time, untreated diesel exhaust gases enter the cabin through the windshield air vent when the ventilation fan is on. This occurs generally when the vehicle is moving at lower speeds or not moving. When this happens, if i stop the ventilation and open the windows, more exhaust gases enter the cabin through the windows. When this happens, i have stopped the vehicle on the side of the road and walked around and smelled these gases at the front of the vehicle, under the hood, but not at the back of the vehicle. This seems to happen coincidentally with a regen cycle. Stopping the ventilation without opening the windows, stops the smell in the cabin, but not in the environment outside of the cabin, the smell is definitely pure untreated diesel exhaust. I took the vehicle to the nearby dealership who did some quick troubleshooting but did not find the issue. I did some quick searches on the internet and easily found a large number of positive hits for the same issue with a similar outcome at the dealership. It seems to be a common issue, and people mention that they take their vehicle to the dealership where the mechanics are unable to force a regen and to reproduce the issue. Some people report that chrysler says that this is a normal condition and recommends turning off the ventilation. I have not talked to chrysler myself, i have taken the vehicle to the dealership once. The exhaust system is good, the def treatment works very well and i do not smell untreated diesel exhaust at the rear of the vehicle.

The contact owns a 2017 ram 2500. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the def pump gauge registered a zero (0). The pump was replaced however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to an unknown dealer who replaced the def pump however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 50,000.

I put my van in drive an then it started and it started bucking and then the check engine light came on

Sudden loss of power, was pulling out into traffic on state highway and truck wouldnot accelerate pass 20 mph. Check engine light came on, after pulling over and stopping and restarting, truck was able to operate normally except for loss of the exhaust brake. Took to dealer and dealer stated it was the turbo actuator and stated it was a common problem. Should be a tsb or recall in my opinion. Truck has 82000 miles.

While driving down hill with load, engine died with no warning lost brakes and steering.

The throttle is not responding. It is accelerating on its own. During regular driving the vehicle accelerates on its own. This happens at all speeds. And continued to accelerate during braking. In addition there are 2 potentially life threatening recalls on this vehicle that have no remedies.

Hi...ram is failing to investigate my complaint.i had verbatim the exact same thing happen to me as in my documentation.i also have dash cam footage that they won't review showing there was no road debris.i was driving up a steep grade, towing a trailer, the radiator went into overdrive, and then my shroud got sucked in.further proof of the failed installation are the dust rings on my shroud.my two concerns are the issue itself as well as rams failure to examine my concerns including evidence of failed installation as well as dash cam footage proving that what they claim is false.

There is a known defect in the cummings diesel engine regarding the intake air grid riser, that if not replaced will cause complete engine failure. The bolt inside the grid fails due to erosion from heat or electrical current exposure and drops into the engine destroying the piston

While towing, rubber section of fan shroud came into contact with fan sending material into radiator. This caused catastrophic damage and loss of coolant while towing on highway in high traffic conditions. Coolant loss triggered multiple alarm/warnings requiring urgent engine shutdown.after stopping vehichle appeared to have engine compartment fire which turned out to be steam from coolant. But engine temps rapidly increased. Truck mileage 35,893, first time towing after water pump recall had been completed.

All ram trucks are equipped with daytime running lights, however for the us models, the manufacture disables the feature to charge the consumer to have them activated.a safety feature should not be an elective feature should be included when you purchase the vehicle.there are many highways within the us that require headlights on during the day, why not activate these daytime running light to make the roadways safer for all.i have attempted to have them activated and dealer wants to charge the hourly labor rate to activate.

While driving my vehicle at approximately 35 miles per hour a vehicle turn in front of my vehicle and i depressed the brakes.the vehicle shutdown and was abandoned in the roadway due to loss of power.vehicles behind me conducted evasive maneuvers narrowly missing my vehicle due to the defective product. I was able to determine the vehicle was equipped with a faulty fuel pump and it had broken into several pieces inside the fuel tank.this issue has been documented with chrysler; however, they do not see it as a safety issue.clearly loss of power while operating a vehicle on a busy roadway is a definite safety issue.this issue needs to be rectified before people are killed or injured. I lost power in brakes and steering.

On at 3 separate occasions, i have had the accelerator get stuck on what i believe is full throttle.initially i thought it might be my floor mat, however it happened yesterday in a parking lot. So there was no reason for the peddle to get involved with the floor mat. I was accelerating, but obviously not to full throttle

When pulling out onto a busy intersection you push the pedal down and the vehicle stumbles or completely doesn't react. It has caused me to almost be involved in a side collision because i couldn't get power to cross a lane of traffic. I called dealer and they say its a common thing that happens and there is currently no fix. They are calling it ""dead pedal"" ram has to have a fix for this. After researching online i have heard a egr delete and tune will fix the issue. Egr delete is illegal in my state and i do not want to modify my vehicle from factory specs. This is a very unsafe condition and ram needs to make a fix for the issue.

"dead accelerator pedal"situation:from a stop, there is about a 1-2 second delay before full power is given.situation 2:when on the throttle, and you let off the throttle completely, and then rapidly get back on the throttle; the engine does not respond for almost 2 seconds.this is *highly* dangerous, especially when merging in heavy traffic; or in an instance where someone makes an unexpected move (pulling out, changing lanes, etc) in front of you and you want the power back quickly. It happens to me at least twice a week; and it can be city or highway, at any speed.the only trigger is to release the accelerator and then step right back on it, and you will be missing power for a couple seconds.

The throttle is not responding. It is accelerating on its own. During regular driving the vehicle accelerates on its own. This happens at all speeds. And continued to accelerate during braking. In addition there are 2 potentially life threatening recalls on this vehicle that have no remedies.

Stopped and placed my ram 2500 in park with the engine running. Got out and pushed a vehicle off a car dolly attached to the truck! the truck jumped out of gear and started going backwards. I ran to stop it as the truck and car dolly jack knifed hitting me and knocking backwards. The dolly wedged under the side of the truck damaging it! since then several times it has not wanted to go into reverse. You will have to shift it back into park then back into reverse for it to work! *dt *dt

I have had a check engine light with code p0868 for low transmission fluid pressure 3 times while pulling a travel trailer and once just driving without pulling anything in the last 3 months. Dealer has told me they dont know why the light keeps going off.

Have had same trouble 4 times starting at april 2017 about every 60 thousand mile there is water in front differential now i have bad bearings in it this is the fourth time now they asking 35$ to replace all the bad parts that could have been taken care of the first time back in april 2017 truck was only three months old

The contact owns a 2017 ram 2500. While driving at unknown speeds, the brake pedal was applied; however, the vehicle continued to coast. Additionally, the contact stated that the freewheel feature was unsafe and destroyed the brakes. There were no warning indicators illuminated.

General electrical failure of abs and cruise control at 22, 275 miles. Had to replace both the hydraulic control unit (pump) and the electronic control unit. Intermittent warning lights while vehicle in motion and no abs or curise control available.

After approximately 8k miles my 2017 ram 2500 intermittently had the traction control light and abs light illuminate. At first it would only temporarily flicker and chime, bventually the code/lights remained in the system. When this occurs cruise control is not available. I'm not sure if the abs or traction control systems operate. After multiple visits to the dealership the issue was located and the abs module and hydraulic motor control were replaced. Everything has operated properly until the last couple weeks, which is 2 years and 3 months later, with 19.8k miles. After starting the truck and letting off the brake the abs/traction control lights flashed and then it didn't reoccur for several days. Then as time went on and bumpier roads were encountered it would happen more frequently, sometimes several times per minute. This felt exactly like what i had experienced previously. Then it was back to the dealer where the code was traced to c0020 - abs pump motor control - general electrical failure. So again, the abs module and hydraulic motor control needed replacement. After a handful of miles things are back to normal.

Service electronic brake system and abs warnings, both visible and audible.dealer replaced abs module under warranty for first occurrence at approx 23000 miles.occurred again at approx 40000 miles and diagnosed as same issue agin at independent shop.this resulted in a $900 replacement of the same module.the effect of the the module failure on brakes and safety is unknown to me.the warnings can happen at any time, when starting vehicle, or when driving.sometimes the warnings subside but seem to be triggered easily by hitting a small bump on the road while moving.

The contact owns a 2017 ram 2500. The contact stated that while her husband was driving at about 75 mph, on cruise control and accelerated to overtake another vehicle, the throttle stuck without warning. He managed to pull the vehicle to the side and putting it in neutral, and was able to stop the vehicle. The contact stated that too much pressure was put on the brakes and caused the front and rear brakes to burn amid heavy smoke. The vehicle was towed to the larry h. Miller jeep dealer (8525 lomas blvd ne, albuquerque, nm 87110) where it was diagnosed that oil was overfilled and got into the crankcase. The technician cleaned the crankcase, installed new rotors and brake pads. The contact was informed about the recall, nhtsa campaign number: 18v332000 (electrical system, vehicle speed control) by an independent mechanic. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure the vehicle was repaired except the cruse control. The failure mileage was 48,630.

The contact owns a 2017 ram 2500 diesel. The contact stated that the abs indicator illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to an unknown dealer before the 36,000 mile warranty expired in approximately june of 2019. The dealer inspected the vehicle, reset the traction control indicator, changed the fluids, and stated that the vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurredthe vehicle was taken to riser chrysler, dodge, jeep, ram, and fiat (4722 central ave, hot springs, ar 71913, (501) 500-5285) on september 21, 2019 where it was diagnosed that the abs hydraulic control unit needed to be replaced. The contact was informed that there was a national backorder for the part and it was a major issue for those vehicles. The vehicle had not been repaired and was still being driven by the contact. The contact left a voice message with the manufacturer and had not been called back. The failure mileage was 39,100.

For the past month, i have had intermittent displays of "service electronic braking system" and "service antilock brake system".when this occurs, the cruise control becomes nonoperational.a check of the internet shows that these problems are widely experienced by dodge ram owners.the display comes on whether sitting or driving.

The hydraulic control unit which operates the braking system ,speed control, cruise control.

Service antilock brake system and traction control error while driving. First started shortly after repair for steering recall (required welding) in december 2019, vehicle miles ~23,500. This would occur without warning, irrelevant to road, weather conditions. The issue persisted, comes and goes, progressively getting worse over time. Took in to dealer for service. Dealer indicated that the hydraulic control unit is defective and needs replacing, work order states direct ground fault. Part on order. I believe the cause is when they welded the jamb nut for the active recall, by grounding the negative lead to the chassis without disconnecting the batteries before arc welding. Based on previous complaints posted on this site and others, the common denominator is starts occurring shortly after the recall is completed.

Brake pedal goes to the floor only while at slow speeds and stopped. Ram stated its normal for truck to have soft brakes when stopped or slower driving. With the soft pedal sinking to the it seems to be a safety factor as it don't have full braking pressure to hold the vehicle still while on an incline. Oddly if you put the vehicle in neutral the brakes begin working again. Many forums online have reported this issue but it seems mopar isn't concerned about the safety aspect and the importance of brakes.

Abs module and hydraulic pump failed after only 35000 miles

Intermittent mil for abs and electronic braking system, became more frequent over 1-2 weeks while waiting for appointment at dealership (out of town).day of the appointment, mil came on and stayed on. Dealer read codes and stated 'internal codes found, replace pump and module' then informed me parts were on 'national backorder' vehicle has 46,500 miles at time of failure.

Driving 2017 dodge ram 2500 4x4 on paved rural roadway traveling 50mph when steering wheel lost tension and would not steer appropriately. Vehicle began to lose traction and correction was not possible. While when driver attempted to brake, brake pedal was pressed firmly and did not brake. Vehiclemaintained speed due to brake failure and steering, vehicle went into side skid for 100 yards before hitting deep ditch and rolling vertically into ditch landing on wheels. Accident resulted in injuries to both driver and passenger.

The contact owns a 2017 ram 2500. While driving at any speed, the steering lost power and was difficult to turn. The dealer and manufacturer were not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 10.

The contact owns a 2017 ram 2500. While driving at any speed, attempting to park the vehicle, or backing out of a parked position, the steering lost power. There was no warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to dallas dodge chrysler jeep ram (214-327-9361, located at 11550 lyndon b johnson fwy, dallas, tx 75238) where it was determined that there was no recall. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was not provided.

Had the ram 3500 recal corrected with a spot weld at the don franklin somerset kentucky dealer. It may be approved nhtsa but according to dot officers it is an illegal fix. Stated that it isnt approvec by the fmcsa.if i am shut down due to tnis spot weld, i will loose revenue in the thousands. If there is a permenent fix it needs to be done asap.

Recall - was advised wheel alignment would no longer be able to be done due to welding adjusting sleeves.

I bought the truck new in oct. 2017. Almost right away i felt a pull to either direction when driving but it pulled stronger to the right. I brought it back to browns dodge in medford n.y. And complained and they "sent it out" for a wheel alignment. I went back because it was still pulling. After a second look by the dealer i was told it was doing what it should. It wasn't. I then took it to an independent place that specializes in wheel alignments. They said they fixed it too. They didn't. I was ready to get rid of the truck until i got the recall notice. I took it back to browns and they welded the drag link and said there are no parts available and i would get a call when they are available. I never received a call and i called and they claim they still do not have the part. I need my truck to drive correctly. The drag link should not be welded. Replacement is needed. It still pulls. I tow trailers. After the drag link was welded the "mechanic" wrote on the service form he test drove it to check for "tow". That is a lie. The truck never left the bay until it was done. I was there. The odo in and out is the same too.i was getting help from fca but now they wont help either. They said someone else will be handling it and contacting me and nobody ever has. The case number is 58281442. Thank you.

Unknowing ling had fca dealership perform recall 19v-021, drag link assembly.by the dealership conducting this it now makes my vehicle illegal for towing per the federal motor carrier safety regulation ss 393.209 (d) steering system. Universal joints and ball-and-socket joints shall not be worn, faulty or repaired by welding. The steering gear box shall not have loose or missing mounting bolts or cracks in the gear box or mounting brackets. The pitman arm on the steering gear output shaft shall not be loose. Steering wheels shall turn freely through the limit of travel in both directions.i have contacted the fca dealership and they will not replace the part that they have welded therefore making my vehicle illegal if inspected.

The issue is the fca mandated drag link recall in effect for my truck. The fca recall "fix" which they say was approved by you, involves welding the jamb nuts to the adjustment collar on the drag link, which locks the entire assembly together.the problem is this fix eliminates the ability to set the steer ahead adjustment for future wheel alignments and how many times can the parts be cut and welded for future wheel alignments before the drag link is no longer able to be used?we purchased our trucks with an adjustable drag link and the recall that fca states your organization approved, alters our trucks from their original design and form. Through no fault of our own, fca installed a defective drag link on our trucks and the only appropriate repair is to replace the entire drag link with the fca revised, adjustable drag link, not welding steering components, which is not approved in general terms by the automotive industry.i have gone to fca and my local dealer and both have refused this is on fca to correct.i'm asking the nhtsa to require fca to replace my defective drag link with the revised fca drag link available. Also i should not be penalized and have to pay an extra $250 out of pocket that my dealer is trying to charge me as labor cost to unweld and re weld the nut back on to do an alignment when it's the recall that caused this issue and is stopping me from routine maintenance on my truck also i don't feel safe with the nut being cut and rewelded as a solution or welded period what happens if the weld breaks this is not a proper solution to this issue and i would also like to not have to shell out an extra $250 on top of the price of an alignment to have an alignment preformed

My vehicle was included in safety recall v06/nhtsa 19v-021 and i believe the fix for this recall was not a sufficient long term solution. The fix for this recall was welding the nuts on the drag link. For a temporary fix this is sufficient, however, for a long term solution the part should be replaced. Welding the nuts reduces the ability to utilize not ram/dodge dealers as companies do not want the liability of cutting the welds and rewarding the nuts in order to perform an alignment, which is needed for vehicle safety. Additionally, grinding and welding the drag link removes structural integrity over time due to metal being lost and new metal not sitting flush as it should. The inability to utilize non ram dealers for future repairs due to the liability issues with grinding welds and re-welding coupled with premature wear and non oem fitment with future welding/grinding make me believe ram must replace the drag link for a long term solution.

I lost power in brakes and steering.

The recall on the drag link by welding the nuts on the adjustment bar is poor repair procedure. Can't find an alignment shop to undo the welds and center steering wheel. Told they won't accept the liability

Fronttrack bar bushings are wore out after less than 45000 miles. The front end makes a noise and shakes when you turn the wheel. This happens both stopped and at any speed.

The recall for fixing the drag link separation is not safe. You do not weld on steering components as you change the molecular structure of the material and also you cannot adjust toe in and toe out no longer. This to me is creating a dangerous and at best a poor band aid fix that is making a new potential problem.

Reference recall 19v-021. Due to fixing the problem the steering linkage was welded, because it is welded i am unable to get a front end alignment done. So my truck now pulls to the right and there is no way to fix it.

While driving down the highway, on a right hand corner i turned and could hear and feel a 'pop'. Then had slop in the steering, nearly causing me to catastrophically crash . I controlled it enough off the roadway into a field and stopped, if there was a guardrail or drop off, i would have majorly crashed. I could turn left, go straight. But going right i'd turn the wheel 1 full turn before it 'engaged' steering.after inspecting the truck, i noticed the track bar would move 4-6 inches before the wheels would ever move. When shaking the wheel while parked, the wheels would not move but the entire body of the truck was moving like crazy as if it were dancing.after pulling the track bar off the truck, the entire 'head' around the bearing attached to front passenger side was completely sheared sheared on 1 point causing the bearing to have free play. This truck is 3 years old with 57,000 pavement miles.catastrophic failure of the steering mechanism should not happen and could potentially kill someone.

Nhtsa recall19v-021, by welding nuts on to the steering stabilizer, this makes the issue permanent, no adjustment in the future unless replacement.this is an unacceptable recall for the consumer.fca needs to corrects by installing an adjustable steering stabilizer

The recall for fixing the drag link separation is not safe. You do not weld steering components because you change the molecular structure of the steel making it harder. Instead of bending,it will snap. Also you cannot adjust toe in and toe out any longer. This is creating a dangerous and at best a poor band aid fix that is making a new potential problem. Chrysler refuses to replace the part. Now, everytime you meed alignments, the welds need knocked of amd rewelded, thus altering the component once again. This should be illegal.

The contact owns a 2017 ram 2500. While driving various speeds, the vehicle began to pull to the right without warning. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer (south county ram in gilroy 455 automall drive, gilroy, ca 95020) where it was diagnosed that an alignment was needed. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the caster failed and needed to be adjusted or a ball joint needed to be applied. The dealer stated that no known solution was available. The failure was persistent. The contact took the vehicle to two different dealers (1. South county ram in gilroy 455 automall drive, gilroy, ca 95020 and 2. Boardwalk chrysler dodge jeep ram, 1 bair island road, redwood city, ca 94063). The diagnostic results were the same at both dealers. The manufacturer was contacted. The vin was invalid. The failure mileage was approximately 326.updated 08/30/17*lj

When in motion, the truck will suddenly break into a violent "death wobble". It has occurred at speeds anywhere between 40 and 75 and not always when a slight bump in the road it hit.

Recall by manufacturer welded steering components so alignment cannot be completed when required. Nhtsa 11268689

I received a safety recall notice via mail.drag link v06/nhtsa 19v-021.responded to dealer for information regarding repairs. Was informed that the fix for this recall is welding the lock nuts to the adjuster sleeve. This is no fix. This is a farce, this will eliminate the ability to adjust the alignment in the future. There should be parts replaced. Not welded together. I do not accept the fix for this issue.

The contact owns a 2017 ram 2500. While driving 70 mph, the steering wheel pulled to the left and the contact lost steering control. The vehicle was pulled over and towed to the contact's home. The dealer was not notified. The contact stated that the vehicle was experiencing the same symptoms as listed in nhtsa campaign number: 19v021000 (steering). The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 17,800.

I'm asking the nhtsa to require fca to replace my defective drag link with the revised fca drag link available.i will not allow the current recall.

The contact owns a 2017 ram 2500. The contact had the vehicle repaired per nhtsa campaign number: 19v021000 (steering), which required a nut on the adjuster sleeve. While attempting to have the wheels aligned by several certified mechanics, the contact was denied due to the welding of the nut. The manufacturer was notified and stated that the vehicle needed all new ball joints, which would not be covered under the recall or warranty. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was not contacted. The failure mileage was unknown.

The contact owns a 2017 ram 2500. The contact stated that the vehicle was included in an open recall regarding nhtsa campaign number: 19v021000 (steering). Bob moore ford (8948 s i-35 service rd, oklahoma city, ok 73149) and the manufacturer stated that the parts were unavailable. The manufacturer also stated that they would weld the drag link, which the contact felt was not a proper repair. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

Ram welded the drag-link assembly per a recall on my 2500.i cannot get anyone including the dealer to align my truck after putting new tires on it. The factory tires wore unevenly prior to 30,000 miles. Chrysler says there is nothing they can do. I specifically asked for a replacement drag link assembly that is not welded be shipped to the dealer. They are refusing. I am in awe of their inability to resolve an issue they directly created. I am planning on suing as a last resort.

I took my vehicle in for safety recall late march or early april. My ca vehicke regusteation is dye 5/31/19. I tried to renew online, but tokd i cannot because of a vehicle safety recall. I checked online and there is one. It is 430 pm, and they xannot work on the truck until 5/31/19, i have a job interview at 1130 am pst, and a veterans administration appt at 1230 for ptsd, but if i dont get the truck fixed i will be fined for expired registration in ca. So, my choices are, skip my necassary ptsd appt when i am having challenges, miss my interview when i am unemployed, or get huge fines for expired registration an car insurance cancelled. Front suspension, specifically steering system goes into a severe wobble or shimmy when a dip or pothole is driven over.the side to side wobble is so severe you have to come to a complete or near complete stop to get the truck to come out of it.i've had it to the dodge dealer twice and a local suspension/alignment shop and they cannot locate the problem.looking online this is exactly what's been described multiple times as the dodge ram "death wobble".

Has vent for frount drive axel in wheel well he catches rainwater and get you into the front differential on four-wheel-drive says drive axle is not part of drivetrain and will not cover warranty all dodge ram four-wheel-drive's 2017 models will have the same problem enough water gets in the front differential it will burn up the gear needs to be corrected before somebody has a front in lock up and causes

Fronttrack bar bushings are wore out after less than 45000 miles. The front end makes a noise and shakes when you turn the wheel. This happens both stopped and at any speed.

Vehicle was in for service and mechanic informed me of front tires are cupping significantly.they informed me this is not new for a new truck.took the truck to dodge they told me it is perfectly normal if you don't rotate tires enough.this is very inconsistent.i did rotate tires but within 5000 mile problem. Represents itself and tires have to be rebalance to off set uneven wear.

I took my 2017 ram 2500 into the local dealer, urse dodge, for a draglink recall. Ram's repair for draglink recall was to weld jam nuts. The welding of the jam nuts completely disabled the functionality of the link for purposes of proper alignment to the truck. I have talked to ram customer care and the local dealer urse dodge, both urse and ram customer service claim that welding the is the recall repair as of now. Nowhere can i find any statements of a final and permanent repair coming. I noticed tire wear on my tires and took the truck for an alignment to ntb in bridgeport wv. (i have had my truck aligned there about every 5000 miles for the last year, or approximately 6 times in the last year. Truck currently has 67,000 miles on it.) on this occasion my truck was out of alignment but ntb could not adjust it because urse dodge had welded the jam nuts. I called urse, and they made me an appointment to check my alignment. On monday 7-1-2019 the mechanic at urse dodge cut the welds from the jam nuts using a die grinder, cutting tool, aligned my truck, and then tightened the nuts without re-welding them. This in effect "un-repaired" my recall. My concern is, 1. The original welding and the heat and other reactions to the jam nuts have weakened and stressed the metal in both the jam nuts and the adjusting sleeve the nuts were welded to. 2. The cutting and removing the weld, with the heat and the physical damage involved in removing the weld, has further weakened and stressed the metal. 3. The draglink is not able to perform to it's original engineered design with this welded fix. 4. This "fix" will cost consumers hundreds of thousands of dollars over time replacing not only these altered draglinks, but tires that wear because of the inability to adjust the alignment to specifications. 5. This temporary repair compromises the safety of these vehicles. *dt

During a recall service of my ram truck at local dealership i was told that the front right tire showed excessive wear on the outer layer. Bought, and got 4 new tires installed. Got alignment. Truck leans noticeable to the front right. Alignment person told that truck has a suspension problem.

The contact owns a 2017 ram 2500. The contact stated that there was an unknown recall repair that required welding the alignment bars and nuts. The dealer who performed the repair was goldstein chrysler jeep dodge ram (968 new loudon rd, latham, ny 12110, (518) 785-4156). While the vehicle was receiving an alignment from an independent mechanic, the welding repair was discovered. The contact called the dealer back and was informed that they had to wait for another recall for the full repair. The contact was referred to the manufacturer. The manufacturer stated that they would not approve any more repairs and transferred the contact to nhtsa. The contact was concerned that if another alignment was needed,it would be hampered by the parts being welded. The failure mileage was 15,000.

When in motion, the truck will suddenly break into a violent "death wobble". It has occurred at speeds anywhere between 40 and 75 and not always when a slight bump in the road it hit.

Truck has major vibration between 60 to 80 mph. Dealer has attempted to fix 3 times with 2 tire rebalancing and 1 load force rebalance. None have impacted vibration. Now vibration is worse and is impacting drivability. Complaint ticket is in with fca # 32159244. Dealer has entered star ticket 8/24/17.truck current melange is 3223, and was just purchased in june 2017.

A loud noise from under and right side of the vehicle is generated when shifting from low to high gear.when in high traffic, turning right and left, and hauling mode. The noise generated sound coming from the transmission or within the underside as the vehicle shifts. Have made visual inspection with no evidence of rubbing or lose cable, tire to finder, or lose shaft wear.

Tailgate lock actuator defect. Tailgate falls randomly while truck in motion when vehicle locks doors once in motion automatically. The actuator over rotates and unlocks tailgate allowing it to drop. Also when using key fob to lock doors actuator over rotates causing tailgate unlock and allows it to fall.

Takata recall 2017 ram 2500 trans temp getting to high at normal driving conds was told from people who experienced this the exhaust is to close to the trans without a deflector

Rear rail gate opens while vehicle is in motion.3rd time i have had truck into dealer for this.they tell me there is a recall for this and no parts are available so they can't fix it.

The contact owned a 2017 ram 2500. While driving 30 mph around a corner and down a mountain, the wheels of the vehicle struck a rock and the vehicle crashed into a ditch. The air bags deployed. The contact sustained head, neck, and knee injuries that required medical attention (mri). The contact's daughter sustained a neck injury and scratches, which required medical attention. Three other children were in the vehicle who sustained injuries and required medical attention. A police report was filed. The contact's insurance company towed the vehicle and deemed it totaled. The contact called stuteville chrysler dodge (3001 n broadway st, poteau, ok 74953, (918) 647-3183), but no assistance was provided. The dealer asked the contact to buy another vehicle. The contact's insurance company contacted the manufacturer. The manufacturer advised the contact to file a complaint. The failure mileage was 40,845. *dt

At speeds ranging from 65-75mph while on any hwy or interstate there is a slight vibration in the floor board.i purchased 4 michelen defender ltx ms tires because the dealer told me my tires were out of round.after i picked it up, it still did it.my truck occasionaly tells me 4 wheel drive shift in progress while i'm driving.the dealer in port aurthor did an alignment and inspected the suspension but came up with no solution.

General electrical failure of abs and cruise control at 22, 275 miles. Had to replace both the hydraulic control unit (pump) and the electronic control unit. Intermittent warning lights while vehicle in motion and no abs or curise control available.

My ram 2500 diesel was in cruise control on a 4 lane highway with periodic stop lights when i pushed heavily on the gas pedal to accelerate while pulling a 13,000 lb trailer.when i took my foot off the gas, the engine stayed in full acceleration mode.full braking was not slowing the vehicle much and it looked like we were going to collide in to vehicles ahead of us.i shifted in to neutral, the engine raced at high rpm, but i was then able to slow down and avoid the vehicles.i shut off the motor for a short time, restarted it and it was fine.a recall is apparently available for ram 2500s with gasoline engines, but i was told not for my diesel.that needs to be rectified immediately to get ours fixed. Very scary.

With cruise set at 75 mph, speed would decrease to around 71mph, then unexpectedly and rapidly increase to 75. This happened repeatedly and i stopped using it for about 3 weeks. I tried it on return trip and it worked fine.

The throttle is not responding. It is accelerating on its own. During regular driving the vehicle accelerates on its own. This happens at all speeds. And continued to accelerate during braking. In addition there are 2 potentially life threatening recalls on this vehicle that have no remedies.

The tire pressure monitoring system requires i have 60 psi in the front tires and 80 psi in the rear tires.unless i have a considerable amount of weight loaded in the pickup box, the rear tires are over-inflated at 80 psi.this over-inflated condition causes a rapid wearing of the rear tires.my real concern though, is that the over-inflated condition cause the tires to lose traction unexpectedly during wet or icy conditions. On several occasions my vehicle has become 'squirrelly' while i was just driving down the highway.my dealership has told me the pressure is set at the factory and can not be changed by the dealership and that removing the pressure sensors would cause my dash gauges to indicate i had no pressure in the tires. This over-inflated tire pressure situation is causing a very hazardous condition, not only to myself but to others as well. This problem needs to be fixed.this is a ongoing situation but is especially hazardous during winter months.

2017 ram 2500 diesel with firestone transforce at tires. Tires have approximately 27000 miles on them and need to be replaced. Overall i am very pleased with truck but very disappointed that ram puts tires on a 54000 dollar truck that only lasts 27000 miles. Tires are big expense (1000 dollars). I'm sure i am not the only owner with this issue. Please resolve this issue.

The contact owns a 2017 ram 2500. While driving 40 mph, the vehicle vibrated. The vehicle was taken to johnson dodge chrysler jeep ram (481 us-46, budd lake, nj 07828, (908) 850-8700) where it was diagnosed that the vehicle needed new tires. The contact also mentioned that the vehicle intermittently did not idle and the rpms raced up and down. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The contact stated that the vibration was becoming worse. The contact purchased new tires, but the vibration failure recurred. The contact took the vehicle to a tire shop and was informed that the front driver's side wheel was wobbling and all four rims were bent and needed to be replaced. The contact stated that some of the tires were rebalanced, but not the front driver's side tire due to the damage. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact called the dealer and was informed that the vehicle was not under warranty. The manufacturer was notified of the failures and provided a case number. The approximate failure mileage was 23,000.

Purchased 2017 model ram 4wdtruck on 20 jan 17. On 21 jan 17 noticed grease stream marks on right front tire. Drove another 420 miles on highway. Noticed heavier grease stream marks on same tire, with spray-on to the front right rear inner fender. Drove another 420 highway miles. Upon inspection of the backside of said tire i noticed black grease leaking from the inner hub. On 06 feb 17 dealer inspected said hub. First told me " you picked up some dirt from the road"? then to my surprise, dealer's chief mechanic said that not only the front right bearing is leaking, but also the front left bearing is leaking. Service manger first told me "there is nothing we can do" upon threatening with legal action, dealer eventually ordered parts to fix problem.

The contact owns a 2017 ram 2500. After switching the original tires, which required 85 lbs of air pressure for tires that required 65 lbs of pressure, the tire pressure monitoring system (tpms) sensor remained illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer (rocky mount chrysler in rocky mount, nc) who indicated that there was no issue and found that the tpms was operating normally. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 800.

The contact owns a 2017 ram 2500. The contact stated that the tire was inflated above the recommended psi. While driving 30 mph, the contact drove over a set of railroad tracks and the vehicle fishtailed. The vehicle was taken to an unknown dealer where it was diagnosed that it operated as intended. The contact stated that the tires were deflated to 63 psi, which prevented the vehicle from fishtailing when traveling over rough terrain. The contact stated that deflating the tire produced a fault code. The contact was informed by the dealer that the manufacturer required the over inflation of the tire. The contact was concerned that the driver's door decal stated that the tire max tire pressure was 60. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 1,700.
