Nothing has happened so far.steering wheel switches for electronic display quit working.air bag indicator flashes some time.radio controls intermittent.cruise control sometimes works, sometimes doesn'ti suspect defective clock spring in this vehicle.i see there is a recall for other fiat chrysler models but not this one.i think this one needs to be included as well.
I do not know all of these recalls are issuedand the dealers always say the have not been furnished the parts to fix them.there 3 active recalls on my ram right that have been issued last year and early this year

I drove home from work, parked ,took a shower did some honey dues at home then.went out to due some shopping and in like a two hour spand my truck dash melted burned alot of stuff...thank god nobody was driving when it happened!!!!!
We were involved in a traffic accident on i95. We were hit from the rear and we slammed into the concrete highway divider at approximately 45-50 mph. The airbags did not deploy.
When i bumped the ignition key with my knee while driving 75 mph ; the engine died.i had to come to a complete stop, put the vehicle in park, and press on the brake to restart the engine. I lost power steering while pulling a load in heavy traffic.
Blower motor work intermittently, starts after driving for 30 minutes or more.
Wire harness chafed causing the bcm to short out and lost use of fuel gaug.
Radio fails to stay operational after vehicle is started.it works while the key is in accessory position, but does not work once the car is started. I am also unable to use the backup camera because the radio does not work. That is a safety issue
The contact owns a 2015 ram 2500. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 16e039000 (electrical system, exterior lighting); however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
The navigation does not track my vehicle properly. The key fobs fail over 50% of the time. The uconnect application on my phone fails to work over 50% of the time and truck will not start, lock or unlock.the truck says the key fob left the vehicle when it is still in the vehicle causing a safety concern when driving.even with new batteries in the fobs.the updates have failed different times due to something called the sierra bolo wireless card. The more and more i have explored what could be the issue, the more cases like this i see and wondering why there is no recall on it. This started taking place as soon as i purchased it in the fall of 2017.
I went out to the garage and started the truck on 2/19/2019 to leave on vacation. I drove approximately one mile and turned the engine off.upon returning to the truck, the engine would not start and the dash said wrong key fob. Waited 15 minutes no start and one hour later still would not starthad it towed in for service.the diagnostic testing showed the key fob lost code for the ignition.code b1a7b-01 ignm general electrical failure. This is the second time that has happened to this truck.the other time was in july,2016.at that time i was in my driveway trying tomove the truck when the dash kept telling me wrong key fob. Sometimes one key would work and the other key wouldn't and vice versa.i finally got it started and drove to the dealer.the key fob lost code for the ignition was also the problem at that time.
The contact owns a 2015 ram 2500. The contact stated while driving the vehicle, the electronic vehicle information center malfunctioned and the display screen froze and only displayed the vehicle's speed. Due to the failure, the driver was unable to access other safety information such as tire pressure and towing. Additionally, the horn no longer operated as designed. The cause of the failures were not determined. The manufacturer was contacted. The local dealer was not yet notified.the failure mileage was 42,080.*dt*dt
Drivers and passenger windows do not raise or lower but the back seat windows on both sides raise and lower fine. The outside mirrors will not retrack and the radio does not turn off when the key is turned off and removed, even if to get out of the truck and use the remote and lock the doors the radio remains on, the only way to turn it off is using radio knob to turn it off. The remote start only allows the truck to run for 5 seconds then shuts the engine off. This truck has a mind of it self with the driver not being able to control the functions. It has been seen by dodge many times in texas and now arizona over a span of two years.
Vehicle was stationary on a city street. In park, motor not running, keys not in the ignition. Vehicle started to roll and crashed into a utility pole nearly breaking it in two.there was a recall performed in 2019 to prevent this from happening.a google search shows that the recall did not correct all the issues.i contacted fca, they sent an inspector out, i was told by the inspector([xxx]) via phone that the truck was a able to be shifted from park with the keys not in the ignition and without pressing the brake. It failed 2 out of the 15 or 20 times that he tried.i was later contacted by fca saying there was no fault on the manufacturer. They made no offer to repair the vehicle even after the inspectors report. The inspector told me that he would not put his findings in writing to me and that i wouldn't be allowed to have a copy of the report.he did say that if he was under oath he would tell a judge and jury what he stated to me. These trucks are not safe. These business practices are not acceptable.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
While your driving the vel shuts off and you lose power the brakes dont work and you cant drive the velits happen 3 time in the last week the dealer said it is nothing plus they said theres no recall on anything
I drove home from work, parked ,took a shower did some honey dues at home then.went out to due some shopping and in like a two hour spand my truck dash melted burned alot of stuff...thank god nobody was driving when it happened!!!!!
The key and the ignition switch are located such that my right knee can bump the key in the ignition and turn the vehicle off while it is running... Like the gm ignition issue that caused such a stir.... My truck had turned off once already this way while it was running since i bought the truck new on july 22, 2015,i told my dealer who said to call ram customer care, which i did and they just said they had no recall notice.on 10/20/15 i called the law firm lieff cabraser heinmann and bernstein who represented the same issue to gm and they said they could not do anything with the issue since there had been no damages ... Yet.
The contact owns a 2015 ram 2500. While attempting to start the vehicle, it failed to start. The contact also stated that the vehicle could be placed into gear when the key was not in the ignition, and the steering wheel would not lock. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the ignition switch failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the gear shifter persisted to fail. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 83,000.
Either from a cold start or while started and in park, but always stationary, the gear shift indicator will indicate in reverse, but the truck is in park.so, now the key can not be turned off and removed nor can the key be turned to start the engine, and the gear shift can not be moved unless the over ride button is pressed, but the engine can not still be started. It will reset and be able to be started after a period of time ranging from average of 15 minutes to one hour, i once had to have the truck towed because it would not reset after about 5 hours.the truck has been to the dealer 4 times for this problem and the dealer as well as chryslercan not duplicate the problem and still deny that a problem like this exist in another vehicle.i have filed the lemon law paper work and will begin the process with it.
I [xxx] went to [xxx] and talked to [xxx] to have fixed because of these recalls that i have gotten on my work van and he said that i would have to leave my work van for 2-3 days to getit fixed which i think is absolutely not ok.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
The contact owns a 2015 ram 2500. While driving 65 mph, the instrument panel lighting failed to illuminate. The contact received a notification of nhtsa campaign number: 15v799000(electrical system); however, the part or remedy for the recall was not available. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 4,400. Vin tool confirms parts not available.
I recently experienced a problem with the abs/traction control system on my 2015 dodge ram 2500 pickup. The truck only has 40,000 miles. First noticed the problem as i was going up hill on an exit ramp off the highway. The abs/traction control started coming on occasionally at first for no apparent reason. I had my mechanic put the truck on his scanner to see if a code popped up. Nothing showed up as being wrong. Replaced the back tires on the truck and that didn't help. Took it to the dealer and they couldn't get a code to show up either. Chrysler had a service bulletin and the dealer re-programmed the computer on the truck. That didn't help. They finally diagnosed the problem as the outer tie rod being worn out causing the angle sensor and abs to engage. I ended up paying $1,879.19 to get it fixed. The dealer admitted that there had been a recall with the drag link but refused to cover the repairs under the recall. I have never had a vehicle where the tie rods wore out after 40,000 miles. My understanding (even though i am not a mechanic) is that the drag link/suspension on ram trucks is notorious for being a problem. I felt that chrysler should have covered this since they knew about the problem with the drag links.
While driving approximately 35 miles an hour, my right knee swiped my key fob/key chain and turn the ignition from on, to the acc position thereby turning the engine off. I loss all power and was unaware for a few seconds until the truck from loss of power was slowing down and hard to steer. Was able to get to side of road and restart engine and proceed on without further incident. Upon further examination, it looks like my knees from normal driving will make periodic contact with the key fob and key chain and see this as a potential safety issue since power is lost and air bags may not deploy in an accident.
2015 ram 2500 with the cummins 6.7 diesel, engine seems to loose all power during the initial start of accelerating from a stop light or stop sign for a few seconds. Which leaves me with partly in intersection like it stalling out.
My truck has raw burning diesel exhaust coming in the air vents on the dash that poisoned my family for an entire year before we were aware of the problem. You can smell the solvent/spray paint type smell 100 foot diameter on a calm day. Parked 99% since may 5th because 1 dealership says its unsafe to drive and the other refuses to document the problem. It is now being towed to a third dealership. My son and i had elevated carbon monoxide levels in our blood the day the ram mechanic advised us it was diesel exhaust.the skin on my face, arms, knees was blistering and falling off for several months. I first asked doctors in october 2015 and remained in the defective truck until may 2016. My vision was blurry when driving and my eyes were burning. We thought it was glue smell or new car smell. My 11 year old son was dizzy, had headaches, and would fall asleep quickly everyday. He complained to his school after we sat in traffic every morning. We had breathing problems and toxicologist at uc davis medical center confirmed aggravated skin damage from diesel exhaust.when we parked the truck all headaches, dizziness, sleepiness, skin blisters, burning eyes, coughing attacks, and confusion went away. Skin is now permanently damaged and no new skin spots or blistering have appeared since parking the truck, but it still falls off every day.my eyes are permanently damaged.the future effects of diesel chemicals are unknown.my truck is unsafe to drive my son to school 2 miles because we sit in traffic and the cab fills with fumes. The fumes also come in at every stop sign or stop light. The carb said the solvent type smell is raw diesel burning in the exhaust pipe and this should not be happening,my exhaust should have no smell at all.carb said this type of problem may not be recognizable on the diagnostics being plugged in to the truck computer. Please help!
The contact owns a 2015 ram 2500. While driving approximately 45-55 mph, the check engine warning indicator illuminated and the vehicle switched to limp mode. The contact stated that the vehicle could no longer drive above 5 mph. The contact asked several unknown dealers to update the engine control module. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 59,200.
The contact owns a 2015 ram 2500. The contact stated that the anti-freeze reservoir was leaking. The vehicle was taken to dick myers chrysler dodge jeep ram fiat (540-908-3882, located at 1711 s main st, harrisonburg, va 22801) where it was determined that the reservoir was not covered under the warranty and that there was no recall. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to nhtsa. The dealer ordered the part. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 51,753.
Coolant reservoir separated at the seam of the two half's. This happened while driving causing coolant to spill and spray all over engine bay, battery and exhaust. I have heard of numerous other people experienceing the same issue.
On 6.7l cummins diesel there can be an unpredictably long ( up to 2 second) delay between when the accelerator is pressed and when the truck actually begins to accelerate. This is not turbo lag (which may limit the amount of power until the turbo spools up). This is not a stumble. This is an actual delay in the computer applying fuel to the engine. It is total dead time as if the accelerator was not pressed at all. It happens under the worst of conditions, when you need hard acceleration and need it now. It happens when you attempt to accelerate quickly, especially when you were coasting or had just let off of the pedal. These are conditions that often occur in traffic with many other vehicles nearby. The long delay between throttle application and engine response is extremely dangerous.my truck has the latest "flash" from the dealer, it is running the most up-to-date firmware available from the dealer.

2015 dodge ram 2500. Consumer writes in regards to defective water pump and park position t79 and t51. *ld
Auto lights sporadically won't turn on.heater core went out, just blowing cold air.
The engine light came on and the dealership says the catalytic converter needs to be replaced, but it appears its a recall but we have not received a recall notice and the dealer says its not listed yet so they want $2,000 to repair even though we took out the extended warranty when we purchased it.
"dead pedal" on cummins diesel engine.if accelerating then let off the accelerator pedal, then press it again, there will be a momentary "dead pedal" for several seconds or more where no engine power is applied. The harder you press the pedal the second time (i.e., the more you need the power), the worse it is. I have experienced this when trying to merge in heavy traffic, when crossing intersections, and other times where i needed the engine to give me power right then, not several seconds (or more) later. This could very easily lead to an accident.
The contact owns a 2015 ram 2500. While driving 35 mph, "5 mph max speed in 150 miles" illuminated on the instrument panel. The miles began to count down as the contact continued to drive the vehicle. The contact took the vehicle to ken nelson chrysler dodge jeep ram (1000 n galena ave, dixon, il 61021, (815) 288-4455) where it was determined that a nox sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified and stated that the repair would not be covered under warranty. The failure mileage was approximately 100,500.
The water pump on my 2015 dodge ram 2500 failed while i was driving it causing the serpentine belt to slip off the pulleys and i lost all power steering and for some reason power brakes.this all happened in the middle of negotiating a right hand turn causing me to leave the roadway and travel up an embankment and roll onto the passengers side.the road it happened on was a back country road and my vehicle was the only one involved, thankfully.
Our 2015 ram power wagon less than 40,000 miles on the odometer went into limp mode(service adviser told us that's what is called) while we were driving on i-65. We took the car to freeman dodge in nashville, tn and they could not find a problem, apparently truck didn't give a code and they could not replicate the issue.however, when we are picking our truck back from the dealer they told us that transmission dipstick tube is broken, we asked them how is that possible and all they could tell us was we don't know and the cost of fixing it is over $500(we did not get it fixed), the service adviser told us that she has seen this problem in the past as well, i asked her if she has seen any other scratches or dents around the broken tube she told us that there is no any other damage but the dipstick tube. I told her that the truck is almost 2 feet off the ground and we never took the truck off roading ever before how is it possible an object came underneath the truck hit precisely the transmission dipstick tube broke the dipstick tube but didn't damage or made scratches nothing around?her answer was i don't know.we picked the truck up and came home and did a little research on the internet to see if anyone has similar problems and i read a few articles about it and apparently dodge is aware of the problem and addressed the issue on the newer models. If you please look at this incident we would very much so appreciated.thanks your time reading this!
Engine: heavy diesel smell when coming to a stop or at a stop when the def regeneration process in active.power train: loud clunk noise from driveline shifting from 3/4 or 4/5 and letting off the accelerator at the right time.speed control: dead accelerator pedal. This occurs if there is a slight acceleration followed by a release of the pedal and an immediate re-application of full throttle. The response is delayed by 3-4 seconds or not at all.
I received notice of recall t51 after being made aware of the issue ~ september 2017.since that time i have made multiple (lost track) requests for service.the last one i was told there are over 100 on the list "in front of me" and that with their allocation of 2-3 per week it'll be "over a year" until i am able to get the parts required to complete the recall.this is totally unacceptable. The recall is for a water pump issue that can cause a fire in the engine compartment.per your site..."under the law, if a vehicle recall has been initiated, consumers are entitled to the remedy without charge and within a reasonable time".i don't think two years for a safety related issue is "reasonable" to anyone...but "them".i did see where they have done the same thing in the past...delaying/prolonging the repair of issues.i'm not sure how they are accounting for that but it would seem they are dragging out the cost/expense as long as they can.i request some/any help for myself, and the other >100 customers (just at this one little dealership in klamath falls, or).i'm sure out of the ~440k trucks we are not the only ones with this issue.thank you.
My truck has only 41000 miles on it and the turbocharger actuator and a push pin had to be replaced. It broke while stationary in my drive way. The dealership said "turbo actuator 3.50 verified and found that the actuator lost communication and had exceeded its learning limit, turbo actuator was faulty." i was charged $4018 to replace the actuator and a pin that should not have broken or exceeded it learning limit when i do not even have 50,000 on my truck. I bought this brand new in 2015. They also had to drain my coolant system and failed to make sure the coolant was replaced properly before i drove home. The coolant warning light came on when i was almost home and had to turn around and go back for them to properly fill my coolant.
Dead peddle, very slow response time when trying to accelerate from a dead stop or trying to leave a parking spot.it can take up to 8 seconds for the truck to really get going.very dangerous, almost got hit a few times with my family in the truck. Have to learn how to drive this truck, need to give twice the distance to cut across traffic.when you use the go peddle it should respond.worse cummins i ever owned to use around town.very dangerous its been this way since day one.been to dealership many of times for samething. Test drove another truck has same issues.read a lot of diesel forums and everyone has same issues.i've owed a 93, 1998, 2000,2002, 2003, 2005, 2008 and a 2015. 2015 is the worse throttle response and transmission programming out of all my diesels next time i see a dealership its going to be a ford ot gmc.
While driving on the interstate, going uphill under load, the fan shroud was sucked into the fan, breaking a fan blade off which punctured the radiator causing a loss of coolant and affecting engine power. This also could have lead to a failure of the engine accessory drive belt causing a loss of the power steering and brakes. This is the second occurrence of this failure on my truck, and i know of a number of other owners of ram cummins trucks with the exact same failure. The possible loss of the power steering and brakes at highway speeds is a very dangerous safety issue.
Dead pedal when pressing on pedal truck does not move. Happened about 6 times on my. When taken off from a light and also when slow rolling the press pedal with no responce. Almost be hit twice by other cars when trying to pull out and truck does not move.

Vehicle tpms on ram 2500's is set to 80psi for "proper inflation" on a unloaded truck is way to much. When driving durning summer months tire pressure is exceeding max tire pressure of 80psi. No way to deflate tire to more safe pressures without tpms "light" and "warning indicator" telling you to inflate tires to 80psi. Update tpms to be able to lower tire pressures to a more reasonable pressure before someone blows out a tire and has or causes an accident.
Losing brake lights while stopping.not specific to driving conditions, i.e. Day night city highway weather.error message is displayed on instrument cluster, dash.happens usually once each trip.

Diesel exhaust smell in cab sometimes very strong causes headaches dizziness when stopped at stoplights, signs, idling or moving slow. Opening windows does not really help unless you are moving, cannot sit an idle and stay in cab very long.cool or cold weather seems to make it worse.have had it into the dealer twice for the issue but they can never find it.

The contact owns a 2015 ram 2500. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 19v021000 (steering) and the vehicle was repaired at carl hogan chrysler dodge jeep ram (2335 us-45, columbus, ms 39705). The contact stated that the recall repair caused damage to the vehicle due to the welding of the nut to the adjustment sleeve which caused the front end to be out of alignment. The contact stated that the check engine warning light illuminated prior to the recall repair. The contact was informed that the diesel exhaust fluid pump was defective and needed to be replaced. The diesel exhaust fluid pump was not replaced. The vehicle was next taken to an independent mechanic to have the tires rotated and the alignment checked. The contact was informed that the alignment was off due to the welding performed on the vehicle and to have the vehicle taken back to the dealer. The dealer informed the contact that the vehicle was in alignment. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and acknowledged knowing of similar failures after the recall repair was performed. The failure mileage was approximately 62,000.

New vehicle 2015 bought in 2017 as original owner. Leaking from headliner, can't inflate to proper psi due to instability and hydroplaning, rust underneath seating from water damage, exhaust smell when interior circulation button is not depressed when windows up. Multiple issues as new vehicle with 450 miles on it.
The long delay between throttle application and engine response is extremely dangerous. My truck has the latest "flash" from the dealer, it is running the most up-to-date firmware available from the dealer.dealer stated that they know about the issue but have no plans to fix the issue.
Deal throttle pedal when making fast accelerations due to rapid changing traffic conditions in city traffic.pressing throttle, letting off and then pressing throttle again results in no throttle response for 1-2 seconds.
The contact owns a 2015 ram 2500. The contact noticed strong fuel fumes emitting from the vents of the vehicle. The fumes caused severe headaches to the contact and the contact's son. The contact's son passed out numerous times due to the fumes. The dealer was notifiedand was unable to provide a repair solution. The contact had an independent source test for carbon monoxide and it was determined that there was an extremely high level of fumes in the vehicle. The contact waited for months for the dealer to escalate the concern to the manufacturer. The contact and passenger continued to receive medical treatment. The contact was unable to determine when the vehicle would be repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.
2015 ram 2500 with the cummins 6.7 diesel, engine seems to loose all power during the initial start of accelerating from a stop light or stop sign for a few seconds. Which leaves me with partly in intersection like it stalling out.
Def gauge is stuck. I have traveled nearly 3,000 miles and still the gauge has not moved. I was checking on-line and seen where there was a recall on this problem with a prior model.
Fuel is venting from the vapor canistar, this fuel vapor canistar is located right next to the fuel fill hose and is tye-wrap to it.during fueling of diesel product the fuel tank is pressurized and vapor fumes come from this vapor canistar.the diesel vapor is not allowed to vent into the atmosphere so is suppose to be contain here at this canistar.also during fueling of diesel product the tank becomes pressurized as fuel is occupling space forces the vapor up the canistar what is happening i noticed is that fuel also comes out of the vapor canistar and runs down the outside of the diesel fill hose and on to the inside of the lower bed body.no fuel of any kind must come out of any truck, suv, car during fueling.if you look on the internet you can find other ram 2500 owners in the 2014 ram model year experiencing this as well.i have notify ram customer service and ask that a ram engineer contact me or someone from ram that understands this truck,to date no one has called me and that was 2 weeks ago.
The contact owns a 2015 ram 2500. While driving approximately 40 mph over a bump in the road, the contact heard a bang sound. The contact pulled the vehicle over to the side of the road and found that the tailgate fell down and struck the trailer jack. The contact also stated that the tailgate opened at least ten times since october of 2018. The vehicle was taken to len stoler chrysler/dodge/ram (1001 baltimore blvd, westminster, md 21157) where it was determined that the tailgate was fine. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 34,000.
Driving down hwy at 45 mph, truck abruptly shifted into and stuck in 4th gear. Research seems to reflect this is a common issue on these vehicles for past few years maybe need a recall on these parts causing the truck to go into what dodge calls "limp mode" .also the transmission dipstick tube snaps off where it brackets to bell housing, frequently at 77.00 a pop for tube it should last more than 3 years.
Truck transmission keeps getting stuck in 4th gear, shifting really hard when it happens and making loud noises., a loud pop and thump and sometimes a whine. Happens while in motion going about 55mph. Started back in sept 2019 1 time. Happened again twice in a weeks time from end of feb 2020 to begining of march 2020.
Truck has an issue with the gas pedal at times from a start the truck does not immediately respond to input by the right foot. Also, if accelerating and then you take pressure off to re press the pedal to go it does not respond for a 1-2 second or so period. This problem is repeatable at any time by doing what was stated. This is a safety issue where as if the driver needs immediate acceleration to get out of a possible collision and theres not response from the input placed on the pedal it could cause a serious accident. I have owned 7 dodge vehicles, an 02 ram, 04 ram, 05 gcaravan, 09 ram, 17 durango, and the 15 ram 2500, out of all the vehicles i have owned none of them have had this issue. All of them but the 02 have the electric fly by wire throttle system. This needs to be addressed by fca immediately! it is a well known issue for the last few model years. Do people have to die to correct? this happens on my truck daily while driving. Speed is not dependent is when you take pressure of the pedal for a second or when at a stop and accelerating.
On 8.20.18 my vehicle going 70mph on the freeway and then made a large sound.i then lost all steering and braking on the highway.i barely was able to pull off without getting hit.after sitting, smoke started coming out of from under my hood.after popping the hood, there were flames down in the engine.i poured the little amount of drinking water on the flames to douse them.the tow truck came and took us to the nearest dodge dealer (crown dodge in redding, california).they immediately noted it was likely due to recall t51, where the water pump overheats, breaks the belts, overheats the car and could cause an engine fire. This is exactly what happened.i tried to get this fixed with my local dealer months ago, but they didn't have the parts.i also never recieved any correspondence letters on the recall...i opened a ticket with dodge directly, they are investigating.this was very dangerous as i could barely control my car at that speed, losing steering and braking.. Scary, and then a fire!. Ugh...
The vehicle has a noise in either the engine or the transmission when cold. It's a squeak. The vehicle has been back to two different dealers seven times and i'm told this noise is normal operation. I find impossible there would be a noise designed into a new vehicle.
Dead pedal when pressing on pedal truck does not move. Happened about 6 times on my. When taken off from a light and also when slow rolling the press pedal with no responce. Almost be hit twice by other cars when trying to pull out and truck does not move.

The contact owns a 2015 ram 2500. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to shift into park. The contact stated that while driving at 40 mph approaching a stop sign, the brake pedal was depressed however, the vehicle failed to stop. The contact stated that excessive force was needed while depressing the brake pedal to stop the vehicle. Additionally, the vehicle remained in fifth gear. The contact attempted to turn-off and restart the vehicle, however the vehicle failed to restart. The transmission warning light illuminated. The contact call elgin chrysler dodge jeep ram (1010 e chicago st, elgin, il 60120, (847) 697-0900), and scheduled an appointment. The vehicle was towed to the dealer and was diagnosed that the parking brake ceased causing the failure. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was then taken to zeigler chrysler dodge jeep ram (208 w golf rd, schaumburg, il 60195) to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that an unknown part on the transmission failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure recurred. The contact stated that on another occasion, the vehicle remained in first gear. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 74,000. The vin was not available.
Transmission stopped working at 70500 miles. Have to have it completely replaced
Driving over 45 mph. The truck has a bad shake in the steering wheel, seat, floor ect.. Took it to have wheels balanced, rotated, aligned all come back ok. No change at all and feels like the wheels are going to fall off. Bought after market wheels and new tires $3500 to posibly fix maybe a defective wheel or something... No change. It has to be a driveline issue. This issue is on even the smoothest new paved roads no change.
The contact owns a 2015 ram 2500. While the vehicle was parked with the engine turned off, the vehicle independently rolled. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where the action was duplicated, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 41,000.
Recall t79/nhtsa 17v=v-821. I keep getting recall notice from fca.but i take time off of work to take the vehicle to the dealer, wait all day, not hear anything, then finally return to the dealer to be told there is no remedy or no parts.i am not wasting any more of my time due to fca's incompetent engineers and dealers.they will now have to come to me to fix this recall, once they figure out how to fix it.
Brand new 2015 ram 2500 laramie limited 4x4 picked it up and within two weeks we drove to wi from fl. Noticed slop in the rear end more than any other ram i've owned. Also had a vibration between 65 and 78 took it back explained i thought the drive train had issues. The dealer had it for one day and gave it back saying "we balanced tires and didn't hear any clunk". I test drove, issues still there took it back and the dealer kept it for 3 days and called and said "all done we changed/warranted two rear tires they were bad". "moved reartires to the from back to front. Tightened the def bracket and trans mount clunk gone". I test drove issues both still there. I returned it to the dealer they said "oh yes we feel it, we put on 2 rear rotors and right rear hub, we still feel the vibration and the sloppy rear end." we called chrysler to put in a case. After one week i called and asked whats going on. "we are still getting information from chrysler". I called week two and was told "chrysler is sending out an engineer should be here monday or tuesday of this week (10/12/2015 or 10/13/2015) i said i want to be onsite when they arrive to protect my interest in a $71000.00 vehicle. I was told today now the "engineer isn't coming but he drove a vehicle equipped as mine in n fl and no vibration present". I told him i am close to putting in a case for lemon law and with the nhtsa, he chuckled and said "i will be in touch when chrysler calls me with more instruction." i again stated i am serious i cannot afford to do this and need my vehicle for work. He said "i'll call ya". Please do something to help or direct chrysler ram to recall or get a new same equipped truck here for me. There are 851 port on the cummins site with the same issue we are trying to get to post here immediately.
Transmission never shifted correctly from the first day i bought this truck new. Drag link feel apart while making a left turn. This has been replaced. The transmission has had a new torque converter replaced but still never solved all the problems. Now the "f"[xxx] solenoid needs replacement shifting into 4th gear while on highway at 70 mph. This happens various times. Just at the higher speeds above 50 mph.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
On 5 occasions the truck shifted from park into reverse while running.during one of these events on 31 oct 2017 i was behind the truck setting up to "pull" a fence tight.approximately 5 minutes after i got out of the truck it shifted into reverse and knocking me to the ground. I was struck again just as the drivers door (which was open) caught a fence post and stopping the truck.before this incident i reported the problem to my dealership in dec 2016.i notified ram care the day of the incident and they effectively blew me off for 15 days before sending an independent inspector.i received fiat chrysler's response on 3 mar 2017.they found no fault with the vehicle, trans, linkage, parking pawl and brake.telling me it was my fault for leaving the vehicle running while not in it.on 4 of these occasions i was in it.on 6 other occasions when turning the truck off i had to cycle the trans selection lever from pank and back to park.
Vehicle is automatic transmission with optional up or down manual shifting on the shifting column.when driving and in 6th gear, if you hit the down shift on the shifting column, it will drop 6 gears - into first gear causing the truck to rev engine at 7000rpms which is hard on the drive line and is a safety hazard.i've contacted dodge and the local dealerships - jones junction (bel air, md) and len stoler (westminster, md).i have been told this is the "correct characteristics of the truck".this is dangerous, its like slamming the rear brakes on.its like driving your vehicle and throwing it in 1st gear.there should be some type of system override that would not allow this to happen.this can cause a serious accident if it does this on wet or slippery roads, and not to mention tear up the transmission in the truck.
Often referred to as dead pedal. There is a delay from the time the accelerator is pressed to the time the vehicle accelerates. Can be very dangerous when merging into traffic from a stop, or accelerating to change lanes while traveling. It feels as though the faster you push the pedal, the slower it responds.
The contact owns a 2015 ram 2500. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle jerked as the vehicle shifted to 4th gear. The contact stated that the rpm revved in manual shift mode. The contact managed to veer to the shoulder of the road turned the vehicle off and back on which resumed back to normal. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to miller's chrysler dodge jeep ram (48 kelly island rd, martinsburg, wv 25401, (888) 373-4929) where it was diagnosed and determined that the shifter solenoid valve was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure recurred intermittently. The contact referenced nhtsa campaign number: 17v821000 (power train) as a possible solution to the failure however, the vin was included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to nhtsa to file a complaint. The failure mileage was approximately 160,000.
My complaint has to do with the approved fix for the v06 remedy on dodge trucks.it is ridiculous to think that an approved fix is to do a solid weld on the jab nut that hold my front end together.that i can only get alignments on my truck if i go to the dealership, as they have been told how to set the alignment without having to break the weld.please!!!!since they have welded this nut, the feel of the steering is worse than it was before that, all be it in a different way.why would anyone think that this is a reasonable fix for a $60k vehicle?i am asking that you have ram, go back to the drawing board and come up with something that is more reasonable and gives the consumer the confidence that things have been addressed properly.because i do not feel any safer having had this stupid weld done, and being locked into the conditions just explained to me by fca us llc.also, the dealership has been horrible to me.i have heard ten different things about this recall from them (parts are available, but move out the door quickly, your truck has already been fixed, they are still working on a fix, or they don't return calls, or they transfer you to a service manager in texas when you live in utah).this whole thing is such a big joke.please take some time to determine if ram is being held accountable for this flaw in their design.thank you[xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
1 to 2 second lag time in throttle response when first taking off from a dead stop. This can be dangerous when operating in heavy traffic. A very noticeable delay in response when pedal is placed in full throttle position. This is a continual condition. This is not a once only or occasional occurrence. This is a permanent condition.
At random times with the rear end pointed down hill. I start up the truck up in park, then shift into drive and when i release the brake the truck will roll backwards, i go back reapply the brakes as soon as i can wait a short time, then ease the brakes off slowly and it drives normally. The transmission slips backwards at random times when in drive. This has happened mostly after being parked, it has also happened when i have been stopped on the highway when waiting for road work.
I do not know all of these recalls are issuedand the dealers always say the have not been furnished the parts to fix them.there 3 active recalls on my ram right that have been issued last year and early this year
The contact owns a 2015 dodge ram 2500. After parking and exiting the vehicle, it started to roll away independently and crashed into another vehicle. A police report was not filed and no injuries were sustained. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The technician was unable to diagnose the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 5,000. The vin was not available.
Chrysler recall u30 for trans solenoid pack was not performed by this dealer. And after complaints to fca, us; they agreed with dealer. Dealer did not perform recall because bolts were rusted and told me i was responsible for the cost of the 15 bolts; cost $187. Cost of the same item online at wit transmission parts is $7.68.
May 2016, after coming home from work, i parked my ram in my driveway.the truck started to roll forward (slight decline) after i put into park.it went about 5 feet before i was able to reach in and push the emergency brake.this was not easy, as i am disabled from a brain tumor surgery at mskcc- causing balance, back, and hip nerve issues and use a cane.i thought it was user error.fast forward to october 2017.my truck was parked 30 feet in front of my garage, in front of a utility pedestal 10 feet away. I went inside.later that day, i came out and my truck had rolled, by itself, into the pedestal- denting the bumper in.i thought, my goodness, what if my 2 kids were outside playing?i called mopar directly right away and was told that it there are no recalls.i paid to have the bumper pulled out, but the passenger side fender has a small spot of rust where it crunched. I know it will spread from there.now, i receive a letter from mopar saying that the truck can slip out of park on its own- recall t79.i do not feel safe with the truck.i love the ram, but park on the side of the road for 7 months because of this.i will be satisfied if my truck is bought back and i buy a different one- and if not, i am sending this complaint and will be having my attorney commence a lawsuit.this can be a fatal issue and if my family gets injured, it will be a wrongful injury or worse.please let me know how to proceed.
Vehicle has vibration at 65-75 mph. Been to dealer numerous times and still not fixed.
Transmission failure, this is due to a plastic fitting on the secondary filter that does not allow a correct tightening, over time the filter comes loose and slowly burns up the transmission resulting in very expensive repairs.
When cruising at highway speeds >55 mph there is a very noticeable vibration in the front end / drive line of the truck.
Recall complaint.scheduled an apt with dealership to address two recalls (17v-302, 17v-821).parts are either not available or there is not a remedy.i am supposed to just keep checking with the stealership to find out when theses safety issues can be addressed.
The contact owns a 2015 ram 2500. The contact stated that the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign numbers: 17v562000 (engine and engine cooling) and 17v821000 (power train). The parts to do the repair were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact called a local dealer (scott robinson chrysler dodge jeep ram, 20900 hawthorne blvd, torrance, ca 90503) and was informed that the parts were not available. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and opened case number: 3585335. The manufacturer was not able to confirm when the parts were to become available. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
The contact owns a 2015 ram 2500. While driving 55 mph, the vehicle shifted into first gear on its own and the gear shifter warning indicator illuminated. In addition, when the contact attempted to reverse out of a parking lot, the gear would not shift into reverse and remained in park. The contact had to turn the vehicle off, pump the brake pedal, and restart the vehicle for the gear to shift into reverse. The contact took the vehicle to toliver chrysler dodge jeep ram & fiat (1971 tx-31, corsicana, tx 75110, (903)-874-6548) to be diagnosed, but the cause of the failures was unknown. The vehicle was repaired, but the failures recurred. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failures. The failure mileage was 55,000.

New vehicle 2015 bought in 2017 as original owner. Multiple issues as new vehicle with 450 miles on it.
The headrests are too far forward causing neck and lower back pain and the inability to hold my head up straight. It's like having a knee on the back of your neck holding it down. No adjustment ability on angle of headrest. I can't sit back and my chin is practically on my neck.i can only drive with my back off the back of the seat. This is unsafe. I am 5'6" and need seat up and forward to see over the hood. Seat must be made for a 250 lb. 6'6" guy. No help at dealer. I've had vehicle 5 mos. And i can't stand to drive any distance like that.
Trailer brake controller.brakes cut out on trailer off and on with no reason.step on brakes and they work, then they cut out.get message on dash saying, disconnected, orcheck wiring, not doing it all the time, but getting worse. In motion
The contact owns a 2015 dodge ram 2500. While driving 3 mph while making a left turn into the driveway, the steering wheel seized and the brakes failed. Interlocking braking system was on an open recall with no parts available when sold to me on 1/20/2018 at dch temecula dodge ram, i was never advised and did not learn that the vehicle had one until i filed a complaint with corporate on 5/21/2018 at which time i was told there were parts available.
Oem trailer brake controller fails to provide adequate voltage to apply trailer braking for this vehicle.trailer brake controller is unable to lock the trailer brakes and therefore you are unable to "set" the proper gain on the trailer brake controller.this creates a unsafe condition that allows the trailer to push the tow vehicle when braking.

Parking brake became loose and stopped holding the vehicle prior to 86,000 miles. Adjustment was made to the parking brake but it failed to hold the vehicle after adjustment when the parking brake was tested. Problem was diagnosed on 2/10/2020 as delimitation of lining material from the parking brake shoes. Online searches indicate other owners reporting the same issues.
Driving local streets and on parkwaysbrakes do not respond to immediate foot pressure on pedal, long braking distance to stop, have to stay back additional car lengths to make a safe stop. Speed is keep within limits of posted signs, truck brought in for burst power steering hose under warranty, told of brake issue, tested and determined to be ok. Not a safe feeling if you you have to stop suddenly or in an emergency situation. Needs to be addressed and fixed properly before an accident or multiple fatality happens. Additonallyi never heard or felt the anti lock brake system activate in any fast sudden braking situation.
Losing brake lights while stopping.not specific to driving conditions, i.e. Day night city highway weather.error message is displayed on instrument cluster, dash.happens usually once each trip.
The integrated trailer brake controller does not provide the proper voltage to stop the trailer properly. This is common on the 2015 model year. I had a 2014 ram which did not have this issue.there is plenty information on different forums document this issue. In a panic stop with the trailer controller set on its highest gain it still will not stop the trailer properly.this is a big safety concern.
This vehicle has had the recall on the steering performed, and ever since they tac welded the drag nut, the alignment is extremely inaccurate which is also causing the steering wheel to be completely off. Due to now not being able to have a proper alignment done to factory specs because of this "temporary fix" i am now replacing front tires in a year of having the vehicle due to severe uneven tire wear on the front tires because of a "temporary fix" instead of just replacing the parts.
The current "fix" for recall "19v-021" is unacceptable. The fix that chrysler is currently using for this recall is to weld the jam nuts on the drag link. This fix is not a permanent solution and prevents the vehicle from having a proper steering alignment completed due to welding the nuts and preventing adjustments.the drag link on these vehicles needs to be replaced completely, not welded!
The contact owns a 2015 ram 2500. While driving 35 mph and encountering a change in elevation or a dip in the road, the driver side wheel became inoperable and unsteady. The dealer diagnosed that the steering stabilizer failed. The vehicle was taken for a second opinion, but the failure was unable to be duplicated. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 26,000.
The contact owns a 2015 ram 2500. While the vehicle was stationary and while driving various speeds, the steering ability failed and it was difficult to turn the steering wheel left or right. An independent mechanic assessed the vehicle and confirmed that the front track bar frame was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. Bayway chrysler dodge jeep ram (4000 pasadena freeway, pasadena, texas 77503, (713) 433-4000) was made aware of the failure and stated that there was no recall on the vehicle. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The contact referenced nhtsa campaign number: 16v559000 (steering) as a potential cause of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 71,000. The vin was unknown.
While driving at highway speeds (usually over 55 mph) i hit a bump and the front end started wheel hopping violently. It threw me out of my lane and when i hit the brakes i was bounced off the road and on to the shoulder. Thank god no one was beside me as it would have caused a major wreck or worse. Very dangerous situation. Now im afraid to drive the truck on the highway again. Cant believe there is not a recall out on this as it seems pretty popular on the internet. Search "dodge death wobble"...
The contact owns a 2015 ram 2500. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 19v021000 (steering). The vehicle was taken to autoworld dodge chrysler jeep ram (1370 auto center dr, petaluma, ca 94952) where the recall repair was completed. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to a tire center for a front wheel alignment however, the technician was unable to perform the alignment because as a part of the recall repair, the drag link nut was welded to subframe. The vehicle was not repaired. A dealer was not notified of the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and provided a case number. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.
I was looking under my truck and noticed that i have a welded drag link, from my understanding this was supposed to be a temporary fix until a permanent remedy was available. This is supposed to be an adjustable drag link and i believe mine was welded out of adjustment and there is no way to adjust it now. The recall never was changed to replacement parts available they just welded them and went on. So now what the owners have to buy a complete replacement part to be able to adjust it?
The contact owns a 2015 ram 2500. While driving 25 mph, the steering wheel detached from the vehicle. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The contact was able to pull the vehicle over to the shoulder. The contact stated that the vehicle was experiencing the same failure listed in nhtsa action number: pe18016 (steering). The independent mechanic tightened the steering wheel bolts as a temporary remedy. The manufacturer was contacted, but was not able to assist. The dealer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 82,000.
The nuts securing the drag link adjustment sleeve worked loose. Because i read about this problem on the internet, i caught it during an inspection before it caused any problems. I do not know how many miles i drove with it in this condition.i noticed that the adjusting sleeve is a very loose fit on the small threads of the drag link bars. I believe the sloppy fit is the root cause of the nuts backing loose.
I recently dropped my truck off for the v06 steering adjuster recall. It has now left my steering wheel unadjustable for future alignments. The nuts are welded solidly to the adjuster. Who is responsible for covering future alignments? i am now left with non serviceable steering componants that were subpar on chrysler end.
Was lubricating front driveshaft fittings had noticed a looseness in front end when hitting bumps in roads. Found nuts on draglink finger loose could turn with fingers and entire sleeve was loose. Will take to dealer this week 11k miles on vehicle 13 months old. Totally unacceptable for a critical steering component.
Steering drag link adjuster is completely loose.paint marks indicate where it was supposed to be tightened too, but either it was not tightened to torque spec or torque spec is not high enough.i suspect it was hand tightened.please see numerous similar reports online here: http://www.cumminsforum.com/forum/2013-general-discussion/1813273-warning-check-your-steering-now.html
The contact owns a 2015 ram 2500. While driving 20 mph, the contact made a left turn and heard an abnormal noise. The contact stated that the vehicle exhibited the same symptoms as listed in nhtsa campaign number: 19v021000 (steering). The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the steering jam nut was fractured. The vehicle was repaired, but the steering continued to fail. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer to be diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 144,000.
2015 ram 2500.consumer writes in regards to vehicle steering wheel issues.the consumer stated it felt as though the steering was off by 90 degrees.the front end of the vehicle felt loose and unsafe.
When cruising at highway speeds >55 mph there is a very noticeable vibration in the front end / drive line of the truck.
Purchased from dodge new 06/2015, all stock no modifications. Started noticing shaking, drifting while at hwy speeds above approx. 55mph at approx. 20,000 odometer miles.had tires rotated every 10000 but started noticing wear & cupping on outside edges. I was going to have its first alignment done today because of the tire wear which is now semi extreme at 40000 odometer miles.looked under truck just today 08/29/2016 for anything loose & found center drag link & both nuts on drag link were loose and spinning freely. There were blue lines on nuts and adjustment rod.i found out that this is a well known safety issue on ram trucks for years. I think there's more wrong than just this item though. My wife & grandson ride me with me constantly and to think they could've been hurt angers me badly.this truck will be sold asap and i will never buy another ram because i see they do not care about safety!
Ugh...
Safety recall v06/nhtsa 19v-021.this recall was performed by a dealer with full explanation of what was being done.their 'fix' as approved by you has removed serviceability of the steering system.welding in place as a 'fix' is beyond acceptable!this basically has passed the responsibility to the owner and creates a greater safety issue of needing to other steering and readability issues!dodge/fca engineers 'reinvented the wheel' by utilizing a jam-nut set-up that didn't work.they ultimately corrected the problem on the 2019 models by returning to the tried and true split tube with clamp design.i want my truck repaired correctly to a safe and usable condition in respect to their ultimate design correction standard.you guys are tasked with consumer safety; you need to have people making these decision fully understand what you accept from manufacturers!
A recall notice, (#v06/nhtsa 19v-021) was issued 1/31/2019.i immediately contacted meador chrysler dodge jeep that following week, and was told they had no timeframe for repair/replace of the defective and dangerous part.the following month, (march), i received another notice, contacted them, and i was placed on a list for the part to be ordered.two more notices were received and i went directly to the dealerships service manager to find out how much longer i must drive a dangerous vehicle before they would be able to repair it and was told "we are not concerned with 2015 vehicles now, only the 2018 and 2017", and "don't call us, we will call you when we are ready for yours".i have noticed slack in the front of my truck and heard some popping, yet the dealership is exhibiting absolutely no concern for our safety and potential loss of lives should the steering become separated while travelling at highway speeds.please help me to understand why the dealerships are so lackadaisical in their attitudes when loss of life is possible.thank you.
While driving my stock 2015 ram 2500 70 mph on freeway the front end began to shake uncontrollably after traveling over a common overpass. Steering was nearly impossible, and luckily i was able to pull off and stop. This has occurred several times since. Subsequent contact with two ram dealerships, this problem seems to be well known within the industry,
After getting an alignment done at the local dealership due to my steering wheel not sitting straight after less than one year of ownership; my steering control rod almost fell apart while driving due to inadequate tightening of the locking nuts.
The contact owns a 2015 dodge ram 2500. While driving 3 mph while making a left turn into the driveway, the steering wheel seized and the brakes failed. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 200,021.
When turning the steering wheel skips and pulls, happens every time i drive it. I do use the truck everyday couple times a month.
The truck wanders and does not steer correctly. Lots of play in the steering wheel. When you turn the steering wheel very slowly it wont even turn the wheels. Its a very scary situation that could cause a major life taking wreck if traveling at high speeds. I know multiple people with these trucks that have the same problem and dodge does nothing about it. Even though under warranty the dealerships just tell us that's how trucks drive and that chrysler isn't aware of any type of steering issues. The steering components need a recall. I'm apart of a ram truck forum online and hundreds of people there all have the same experiences. I've owned trucks all my life and never have had a steering feel/issue like this.
The contact owns a 2015 ram 2500. The contact stated that the vehicle was repaired under nhtsa campaign number: 19v021000 (steering) at the local dealer. After the recall repair was performed, the contact was unable to have the alignment or the tires removed from the vehicle due to the weld stated in the recall repair. The dealer was contacted and made aware of the failure. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 30,000.
The contact owns a 2015 ram 2500. The vehicle was taken to westgate dodge ram wake forest (10936 star rd, wake forest, nc 27587, (919) 809-6559) to be repaired per nhtsa campaign number: 19v021000 (steering) where the remedy was to weld the nut. The contact was concerned that the remedy was not the correct remedy for the recall due to welding two different metals together and burning the nut. The contact was also concerned that the remedy would stop the vehicle from having an alignment performed. The same dealer was called and informed the contact that the recall remedy was to weld the nut. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vin was not available. The failure mileage was 76,000.
The contact owns a 2015 ram 2500. While driving 65 mph, the steering did not respond even when the steering column was moved. As a result, the vehicle drove into a ditch. The seat belts failed to tighten and the contact sustained bruises. A police report was filed and there was one injury that required medical attention. The vehicle was towed to sport chrysler dodge jeep (200 echestnut st, ft bragg, ca), but the failure was not diagnosed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 18,000.see also odi 11083519. *dsy
The contact owns a 2015 ram 2500. While driving, the bracket attached to the track bar failed unexpectedly. While driving 55 mph, the contact turned right and the steering failed. The vehicle became unstable and the wheel shook. The contact heard an abnormal noise when the failure occurred. The vehicle became unstable, but was still operable. There were no warning indicators illuminated at the time of the failure. The contact drove the vehicle to verger chrysler jeep dodge (1400 ocean boulevard, coos bay, or 97420, (541) 888-5594) where it was diagnosed that the vehicle needed welding for the bracket on the frame. The vehicle was not covered under a warranty and the contact was informed to cover all expenses. The manufacturer was contacted, but could not assist because there were no open recalls. The failure mileage was 23,998.
Traveling on highway 101 at 65-70 miles per hour, one quarter of the way into a hard left hand turn, the steering rod to the right front wheel came loose without any impact or any other form of road hazard.the threaded end disengaged from the turnbuckle nut leaving me with absolutely no steering.the out of control truck traveled into a turn out, up a hill, and into a ditch.the anti skid #2 kicked in, reducing my brakes, making the terrain eventually stop the truck.it was approximately 400 feet of travel after leaving the highway.fiat-chrysler was contacted (cair # [xxx]) and they sent an investigator (bosch automotive service solutions) who took photographs and documentation after viewing the truck.i was not allowed to review the report. Then,fiat-chrysler respectfully declined any assistance associated with this matter.i have been informed that although the parts involved were under warranty,my warranty has been voided with no explanation.they suggested i turn it over to my insurance carrier, which has also declined tocover the damages.as of today, april 5 2018, my truck still sits at sports chrysler jeep dodge,as no entity has assumed responsibility or aided me in any way in fixing the truck or explaining the cause of the failure. *dsysee also odi 11053917.*dsy *dt *dtinformation redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).updated 10/17/18 update 10/9/18 *dtupdated 10/31/18
I have purchased a vehicle from canada that is currently being held in customs. There is an open recall (18v-486) that is currently tagged as "remedy not available".the vehicle manufacturer has no timetable available for the release of the parts required to fix this recall, so my vehicle can be fixed and released from customs.
Nhtsa id# 10136541 and tsb #68093354a$ refer to this issue. 2015-2017 ram trucks equipped with power locking tailgates are experienceing the tailgate opening unexpectantly while driving. Fiat chrysler automobiles (fca) recently issued recall u-74 which identifies trucks with 5-foot 7-inch and 6-foot 4-inch beds as being affected but not trucks with 8-foot beds. My truck is equipped with an 8-foot bed and i assure you it is in fact affected by this issue. Since purchasing my 2015 ram in march 2018 this has occurred 3 times. The first occurance was while driving on a paved, smooth road surface, in heavy traffic, travling at approximately 25 mph after having been on the road for over 1 hour and traveling at speeds of 70 mph. The second occurance was while driving in town at speeds up to 35 mph on paved, smooth road surfaces in moderate traffic. The third occurance was on the highway, traveling at speeds up to 65 mph. I believe that fca has made an error in not including all 2015-2017 ram trucks with power locking tailgate latches and instead excluding long bed models. It is just as much a siginificant safety hazard as on short bed models and warrants evaluation and inclusion in the current recall for repairs/replacement. I have photos of the lock assembly that i can provide proving the existance of this issue on my vehicle.
The tow hooks on the front of my ram 2500 truck were used to pull the truck onto a tow truck bed that was lowered to the ground. Both hooks were used, as directed by the owner's manual. The truck's transmission was put in neutral. The truck was gently winched onto the tow truck. As it was being pulled, the entire bumper assembly was being yanked out from the frame of the truck, causing damage to the front fenders. The tow driver stopped and the truck (with a flat tire) had to be driven the rest of the way up to prevent further damage due to the bumper/tow hook failure. This is a known problem, as noted on several forum pages of ram truck owners: "cumminsforum.com" as well as on youtube. Chrysler will not cover this under warranty saying it's not a failure of the truck. Their "customer care" claims they've never heard of the problem before. It is a publicized problem for ram 2500/3500 trucks for model years 2010 through current. The known facts are the bumper and the tow hooks are attached to the frame using the same mounting bracket which has oblong-shaped holes to allow adjustment to correctly align the bumper. The bolts are not torqued enough from the factory to allow for any tension to be applied to the tow hooks, otherwise front-end damage will occur to front painted body pieces. Chrysler corporation llc still continues to maintain their coverup that it is the users fault, not a failure of the vehicle. I already paid money under the counter to a guy to restraighten the bumper, but the paint/fender damage is still there. There are numerous pictures and videos online showing the results and damage of using the tow hooks...something that should be designed to use on a heavy duty truck. Please google search "ram 2500 tow hook problems" and you will see numerous sites showing chrysler's problem. Please make chrysler recall these trucks and fix the problem!

While traveling on i-664 north and exiting onto i-64 east in hampton, va, my ram 2500 began a violent bounce or "wobble" while driving at approximately 60 mph (normal speed of traffic).i took my foot off the accelerator while trying to maintain control of the vehicle and began to brake gently (i didn't know the source of the problem) as i drifted into the right lane (2-lane ramp).i continued to slow as i continued to move onto the right shoulder and when i reach about 30 mph the bouncing/vibration stopped.i continued to the next exit, pulled off and got out to inspect the vehicle.i could see no problems with the tires or suspension (springs front and rear).i then drove 40 miles to my home with no other problems.i have had similar minor experiences during the past year that only lasted for a second and which i attributed to the stiff suspension. My internet research of this event revealed this has been an habitual problem with jeeps and rams but was supposedly "fixed" in 2013. I will testify that the problem has not been fixed and resulted in me almost losing control of the vehicle on a curved two-lane ramp.it should be noted i have traveled this route everyday for 14 years with no similar experience. I had my local dealer "inspect" the vehicle for a possible cause but all they did was drive it down the road and back and reported they could not reproduce the problem.of course they were not on a concrete roadway driving 60 mph around a curve.
I took the truck to the dealer 3 times since new because occasionally when i drive over railroad tracks or small bumps or road repair bumps in the city at approx. 35 mph i hear and feel a loud bang on the floorboard beneath my left foot.the dealer repeatedly looked at my truck only in the service drive and said they see no problem and refused to write it up.the 3rd visit they wanted me to drive it fast over the speed bumps in there overflow sales lot to try and duplicate the sound.i explained to them it seems that it only occurs when the front tire drops or dips suddenly.i refused to drive it fast over speed bumps for the service advisor so he refused to write it up.the railroad tracks have since been updated so i wasn't sure where to drive them to duplicate the sound. This occurred between 5/2015 - 5/2016 as the truck has been parked since for other exhaust problems.
The contact owns a 2015 dodge ram 2500. The contact stated that while driving approximately 35 mph, a clanking noise was present coming from the front of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who discovered that the jam nut to the drag link was loose. The jam nut was tightened and readjusted and the front end was re-aligned. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 14,000.

Tpms requires minimum of 80 psi in rear tires of ram truck.this is too high of tire pressure to assure the rear tires have adequate contact with the surface of the road under light load conditions.while driving in a 35 mph stretch of pennsylvania roads with 80 psi (required) of tire pressure in the rear tires of my new ram 2500, the truck rear tires broke free from the surface of the road several times requiring evasive measures to avoid an accident.the vehicle doesn't permit an option to reduce tire pressure monitoring system to a light load condition when necessary to reduce tire pressures.this creates an unsafe situation for motorists.please issue a recall or change to these models before some is killed by loosing control of their vehicle....updated 07/30/15updated 11/9/2015updated 10/25/2017
The tire pressure monitoring system showed a warning message. The rr tire showed -- as the tire pressure. The dealer stated that there was a recall and that all four tire sensors would need to be checked. The dealer replaced all four sensors at no charge.
Occassionally, when inserting and removing the key from the ignition it may cause a plastic piece inside the ignition to hang up, the key can be removed however the vehicle still senses a key in the ignition and it can be started with any key or device, it also prevents you from locking the doors. It is very hard to get the plastic piece to pop back out so you canlock the doors and it doesn't think there is a key in the ignition.

What has happened is your advertising has gotten worse!who is your target audience, children?!stop making the characters sounds like whiney dorks, present more realistic situations, and stop making cops look like bad guys!you people are so out of touch with the general population...i want to stop wearing my seat belt because you make it retarded to want to....
Vehicle get's a vibration/shake at highway speeds (60 mph - 70 mph). This is noticeable through the front passenger seat,as well as cabin of the vehicle. When accelerating, the vibration/shake will increase (or get faster/stronger) until i'm out of the highway speed range.
I've been having problems from my gear shift,it's been getting stuck in park and now has completely broke from the whole steering column.
Cab brake light went bad after 5 years and the interior of truck was flooded with rain water. Water was running out of headliner into the dashboard, radio and electrical components. After researching this issue and speaking to the dealership, this has been an ongoing issue for ram vehicles. I now have mold set up in my vehicle but consider myself lucky that a fire didn't occur.
Cooling fan shroud is deteriorating causing the fan blades to scrape it. My truck is out of warranty but still only has 40,000 miles on it. I had to remove the shroud to prevent further damage and or a breakdown while driving. It appears to have partially melted with the expected high temperatures. I have had no overheating incidents to cause this.
Integrated trailer brake controller does not apply full voltage to electric trailer brakes. I had an 8% grade to decend and when i stopped to check my trailer brakes i could easily overpower them when set to max gain and 100% applied with slider. When i got home i researched and found i am not the only ram owner experiencing this. When i checked the voltage i could only get 9.3v on light electric setting and only 7.4v on heavy electric. Towing the same trailer as my father's 2012 ram with integrated trailer brake contoller i have to use 6.5 gain setting vs his 3.5 gain setting.
Vehicle "dead pedal" throttle response is downright dangerous.when accelerator is pushed to the floor to get out of the way of traffic the truck is unresponsive for several seconds and came mean life or death in certain situations.this has been a problem since new but fca will not correct the issue!!please help get this corrected, we do not need someone to die before it gets corrected.
The truck has a "dead pedal" when you floor the gas pedal. It takes a few seconds to go forward. Ive had traffic speed up when pulling out from a stop sign and try and push the gas pedal and theres nothing. I spoke to the dealer and was told it was turbo lag. This is not turbo lag. Ive owned many turbo cars and trucks and none have had this issue. This is a major safety issue and is being discussed on many forums. Every ram 2500 diesel truck has this issue.
The contact owns a 2015 ram 2500. While driving approximately 65 mph, the vehicle accelerated and the flashing lighting bolt and check engine indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to ron bouchard chrysler dodge ram (978-345-1800, located at 288 lunenburg st, fitchburg, ma 01420) and repaired; however, the contact did not remember what was repaired. The failure recurred and the vehicle was taken back to the same dealer. The technician was able to duplicate the failure, but was unable to diagnose the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failures and stated that someone would call the contact back. The contact was not called back. The failure was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 35,000. The vin was not provided.
This report follows the nhtsa report 11051041 of unintended acceleration in the same 2015 ram 2500truck (11/4/17). On 2/10/18, the 2nd and 3rd episodes occurred.after a hard acceration to 70 mph, the truck did not slow in response to braking.the engine continued to rev. After two applications of the brakes, i pushed the transmission into neutral and hit the hazard flashers.even in neutral and with the brakes applied, the engine continued to rev, but the truck slowed very gradually.i eased to the side of the road, and pushed it into park.the engine continued to rev.engaged the emergency brake, and turned the truck off.while trying to regain control, slow the truck and get it off of the road, a message flashed twice. I believe the message was--service electronic throttle.but i am not sure.the messages literally blinked on and off, and i was struggling with the truck. The first episode of unintended acceleration in this truck was terrifying.this episode felt much more dangerous.if i had not read extensively about the problem of unintended acceleration and strategies for regaining control of the vehicle, the outcome could have been much worse.and, my husband and i had practiced strategies for regaining control while driving to other places and when the truck was operating normally.after parking i called my husband.he came to the location.the truck was turned off for ten minutes.we switched trucks.he got into the ram and started it.the engine was again revving.he turned the truck off and restarted it.the engine started normally.he then took the truck to an auto supply store to pull the codes.there was nothing.the truck was driven home.it is permanently parked and is dangerous to drive.accidents have only been avoided because we live in a rural area with sparse population and traffic, coupled with wide roads.
The speed control will not shut off when the switch is activated. I took the truck to the ram truck dealer in temecula, ca (dch chrysler, dodge, ram) in jan 2018 with this complaint but to no avail; they couldn't find a problem. Now i read where over 5 million fca vehicles are affected with this issue. My truck does not appear on the nhsta or ram truck websites when i enter the vin and search for this recall.now what? it still has the problem and i won't use the speed control.
On november 4, 2017 at about 10:30 am after hard acceleration to 70 mph on an open four lane highway in clear weather, and application of brakes, the truck re-accelerated on its own with no pressure on the fuel pedal.upon application of the brakes, the truck slowed but when pressure removed from the brakes, the truck re-accelerated.it took three separate applications of the brakes, before the unintended acceleration stopped, and the truck was again under control.the truck was taken later that day to a local auto parts store, and the codes scanned.there was no indication of anything amiss.the following week the truck was taken to the dealership where it was purchased.they again scanned the codes, which revealed no malfunctions.the mechanics test drove the truck trying to replicate the sudden unintended acceleration but were unable to do so.
Speed control will not always work. When it does it will sometimes speed up or disengage on it's on. I had it at the dealer ship for recalls and told them about the issue , i was having they said they could find nothing wrong and no recalls at this time. Fyi this is 6.7 diesel and still having the problem.
Truck has a dead pedal feeling when you try to rapidly accelerate from a stop or a near stop. This is dangerous when trying to accelerate into or across oncoming traffic.
Vehicle looses 6 mph before transmission shifts down to pickup speed, i am unable to use anywhere there is any type of incline. In order to use cruise control need to drive in truck lane to avoid being rear ended.dealer claims that it is normal because they can't change any settings. You want date that the cruise control doesn't work that would be every day i drive my truck.
I pressed the accelerator as i crossed through an intersection then i released, and i immediately went to press it again with no throttle response. The throttle response is so slow it almost caused me to have accident. This is not the first either but i thought it just may be a fluke until now. I have have owned my truck for about 4 months and the throttle lag has happened too many times to count. Crossing the hwy is very unsafe as you press the gas pedal, release, and press again there is a huge delay. This is definitely a safety issue which seems to be getting worse. Also i have seen many complaints online with the same issue. Please look into this further before it causes preventable deaths to occur. The throttle response delay needs to be addressed as soon as possible.
At 28,000 miles the cruise control set switch quit working.switch was replaced and worked find until34,000 miles at which timethe cruise control setswitch quit working again.acts exactly like first time and taking it in friday for dodge to check out the problem and fix it again.when i press the cruise control switch it says it is ready but when i press the set switch nothing happens.
I have purchased a vehicle from canada that is currently being held in customs. There is an open recall (18v-486) that is currently tagged as "remedy not available".the vehicle manufacturer has no timetable available for the release of the parts required to fix this recall, so my vehicle can be fixed and released from customs.
To high factory tire pressure affects vehicle stability inclement weather. 80 psi is to much pressure in an unladen pickup truck. Skidding...
See attachment, i was under 1900 characters but system would not let me send.
The contact owns a 2015 ram 2500. While driving 15 mph, the rear wheels locked up on the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but the cause of the failure could not be diagnosed. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 8,000. ...updated 09/12/16
The tire pressure monitoring system showed a warning message. The rr tire showed -- as the tire pressure. The dealer stated that there was a recall and that all four tire sensors would need to be checked. The dealer replaced all four sensors at no charge.
Firestone tires with only less than 16000 miles wore out which could cause a wreck if i have to drive vehicle in bad weather or rain. We noticed and even spoke to our dealer and mopar and nothing was done. You buy a new truck and pay over 50,000 for it you think the tire would last at least 3 to 6 yrs or at least 30,000 to 60,000 miles anyway.
80 psi it too high in the rear tires, tires do not make good contact with road causing loss of control.needs to be fixed.
