Driving down the interstate at approximately 70 mph when the vehicles in front of the truck slammed on brakes.i was roughly 30 ft behind the vehicle in front of me.i slammed on my brakes and the pedal felt spongy before going to the floor.the tires did not lock up, and the truck slowed 20mph in about 30 ft. The truck made impact with a chevrolet tahoe at 50 mph.the airbags failed to deploy and the seatbelt failed to lock, throwing my knees into the dash.the chevrolet tahoe was totaled.the current estimate to repair the ram is $5,448. The bumper, driver fender, grille, and hood were damaged.upon removing those items the shop found almost every bracket in the front end had been broken and the frame horns bent upwards from the collision.the impact was hard enough to break a ratchet strap in the bed of the truck, sending a ladder that i was carrying into the cab corner, leaving a softball sized dent.we were able to drive away from the incident and the brakes were functional on the trip to the body shop, however any attempt to depress the pedal rapidly would result in a spongy pedal.mileage at the time of the incident was 81,110.ram was contacted and after a week of back and forth ram agreed to send someone to inspect the vehicle to determine if there is a fault in the truck.
The air bag cover is coming apart from the 1'oclock position to the 8 o'clock poistion. I've taken it to the local dealership and they want $700 to repalce the airbag which is attached to the cover. Why should i have to pay for a safety item that should still be covered.
Truck will shut off while driving. Sometimes will start back up a second later, sometimes need to bring it to a full stop, to restart the truck. It will do it at random no matter weather type of driving, it will just do it.
Vehicle ignition- when the vehicle is in motion and you hit a slight bump in the road the truck will shut off. This will occur at highway speeds and speeds as low at 20mph.also sometimes when starting the vehicle with the key, once the key is turned to start the vehicle, all loss of power to the dash and ignition system.lastly if the remote start is used and the key it put into the ignition and turned to the on position and the brake pedal is depressed the vehicle will shut off.
When i tried to switch my headlights from dim to bright, they wouldn't stay in bright. After several attempts the brights would not come on. When i signalled to turn left, the left headlight went out. When i signalled right, the right headlight went out. When i stopped and set the parking brake, both headlights went out. Seems like my truck has a ghost onboard!

On 9-3-2013 i contacted chrysler corporation to report the incident but i am not getting any call backs from them so know im letting the insurance company handle it.i have obtained a surveillance tape copy of the fire.
When operating the vehicle it will unexpectedly turn off, wheels lock up, steering locks up, engine stops completely no matter what i am doing. As of late this has been happening more frequently. After research was done, it's the ignition switch problem that will cause death or serious injury. This truck has done this on the interstate, hwy, and city streets while driving at various times. This is our only vehicle and is used to drive my 4 children around, ages 17 to 1yr old.

Aircon/heat control head not working. A/c and heat blower cuts out. Been to dealer 3 times for fix starting in june. Dealer says part not available until september. Very dangerous if someone is in car with a/c on and it cuts out on a hot day. Contacted dodge directly and not helpful.apparently hundreds of backorder for this part. Happens when vehicle moving, stationary, etc.

Recall p65, received notice in oct. 2014, contacted dodge day letter was received. Asked if vehicle was safe to drive at which time they stated "we can not tell you if your vehicle is safe or not", asked to schedule service and informed no parts at this time...fast forward 5 months..on the dodge website it clearly states my vehicle must be inspected for fuel leak on this recall...so i call dodge and once again i'm told no parts yet, they don't even know what parts are needed, so i once again asked if the vehicle was safe to drive and that i won't have an engine fire and received the same response as last time...i asked if at least my vehicle can be inspected to see if it has a fuel leak so i know if it's safe to drive and the response was no, since no parts, "its a liability issue if they inspect and don't have parts".....nor will they provide a rental and guess what if it catches fire they won't pay for it...i didn't spend over 50k to have a lawn decoration, i bought the vehicle to drive!
Win module shut my truck off while driving down the highway 4 times in 2 days. This is dangerous when my 4 children are in the vehicle.
The contact owns a 2012 ram 2500. While operating the vehicle, the message "key not recognized" displayed and the instrument panel gauges malfunctioned. While attempting to start the engine, the vehicle could not immediately be started. After finally starting the engine, the vehicle would suddenly shut off while driving. The vehicle was taken to the dealer (red bluff dodge, chrysler, jeep, ram, 545 adobe rd, red bluff, ca 96080) where the win module and brake controller were replaced; however, the failures recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the same dealer, but the failures could not be duplicated and no repairs were performed. The failure mileage was 93,000. Updated 9/24/18
Ignition switch-while driving down the road with my wife and small children, my truck shut off on its own.i tried to restart the engine and it started, but shut back off.i noticed that the ignition switch was feeling loose.this has happened 5 or 6 times in the last two days.i got online and found out that i am not the only one that has had this problem.what happens if i am driving down the road and my truck shuts off on its own and i am in an intersection?i have been a firefighter for 10 years now, i don't want to see any more unnecessary mva's happen due to faulty parts.this problem needs to be corrected asap!!!
Airbag light on; airbag inop. Recall that have been identified to be effect the 2013 models also effect the 2012 models.
My truck would not crank over when i went to drive it. Dodge dealership has had it over a week and thought it was the tipm module. The got one 4 days later and now it wont allow programming so it is still not fixed and i am left without a truck while they learn how to fix it at my expense. So far i have been quoted $920 for the part and $260 for the labor. The service manager said he would take the master mechanic from the fleet department to start another diagnosis process.
I was driving on a city street doing 40mph when i hit a small bump in the road and my truck just turned off saying on the message center screen key in ignition. This has happened to me 3 times now since i have owned the truck. I have spoke to my local dealer about the issue and have done extensive research on the web, and have found out that ram knows about the issue at hand and has made a 2nd generation win module and cost of the part is roughly $500 plus new key fob and programing. But for some unknown reason this is not a road safety issue that has been made a recall. I am in motion while driving and my truck stops running and i'm in the middle of a turn doing 60mph and well there goes power steering and breaks death will happen at some point. Very disturbed mopar fan.
I was given notice of recall on december 9th 2014.received another notice this month on the fuel heater. I have been to the dealer several times and they do not have the part.it has been over 6 months since the first recall notice then they send another one and still do not have the parts.what good is a recall of a dangerous situation with the vehicle and the manufacture does not supply the parts!i have also had a problem and made a report before about the truck not stopping or slowing down.the electronic throttle sticks and this is very dangerous.
R03 (replaces l25) wireless ignition node (win) modulewin module failure. When driving the vehicle in motion, the engine and power shuts off to the vehicle, causing loss of power steering and braking power. This happened to me while driving on the freeway. This has been recalled due to the same situation on multiple other dodge/chrysler vehicles that have the same win module part/part# as my 2012 ram.'the wireless ignition node (win) module on these vehicles may have unintentional movement of the frequency operated button ignition key, or fobik, from the 'on' to the 'accessory' position while driving. This could cause unintended engine shut off and increase the risk of a crash.'https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2016/rcmn-16v240-9929.pdf
The contact owns a 2012 ram 2500. While driving 65 mph, the contact detected a burning odor coming from the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to covert chrysler dodge jeep ram (8107 research blvd, austin, tx 78758, (512) 730-3300) where the contact was informed that the relay failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 105,000.
I purchased a 2012 ram truck from melloy dodge with 14,000 miles on it. I haven't even had it a year and it was a top of the line truck. So, it is still under factory warranty plus they sold me an extended platinum warranty. A couple weeks ago, i went to get in my truck in the morning and it was completely dead and would not start. I immediately called the dealership and they towed the truck to the dealership. The power module went out on the truck. The service writer then called me to say there was a scratch on one of the posts under the engine so the repair would not be covered under warranty and i must pay it out of pocket. I never did anything to that truck. I woke up and it was completely dead. The dealer found any excuse to get out of covering the repair under warranty. Plus, i purchased the truck from them used. The scratch on the post was probably there all along. They looked for a reason to get out of covering the truck under warranty. I have never had to deal with such dishonest, unethical people. This is not acceptable or fair. It is dishonest. I am very upset i had to pay an almost $1000 repair due to this. They should not be allowed to get by with treating customers like this and being dishonest in the way they deal with customers. I did try to contact them to resolve this to no avail. I wonder if next time i have a repair, if they will find a bogus excuse to get out of honoring their warranty and double platinum top of the line warranty. This is unacceptable!what good is a warranty?
The contact owns a 2012 ram 2500. The contact stated that the ignition switch failed to function properly. Also, the vehicle stalled when driving over uneven land without warning. The contact had to maneuver the key in the ignition and parked the vehicle at home. The dealer advised the contact to schedule an appointment. Wireless key node stops working.thus the trunk loses power and shuts down. This is a very dangers condition.have talked to other owners and they have had the same problem.you can put the truck in neutral and it restarts ,dodge knows the problem but has done not a thing to fix it.at $440.00 plus to fix it i guess it is a money maker.
Win module. The win module in my truck is failing. This causes intermittent no start and also the engine will suddenly stop running while in motion. This usually happens with a bump in the road and has happened while pulling out of a drivewayinto traffic.there are many complaints on the web for this issue.
Back in september 2017 i was at work at offutt air force base when i received several messages from the papillion fire department, the la vista police department, and my apartment staff had been desperately trying to get ahold of me to let me know that my ram 2500, which i had not driven in over 10 days, had caught fire under the hood in its parking spot near my apartment building. My first thought after being completely blown away by the fact that a lightly used truck that hadn't even been driven could spontaneously catch itself on fire was that thank goodness the truck was parked outside and not in my garage. When i got to my truck i saw that the fuse box was melted as well as all the wires leading to and from the fuse box. I had the truck towed to a local ram dealership and i contacted ram and chrysler special investigations who refused to provide me with any details other than the vehicle was no longer under warranty.
My vehicle began having issues when attempting to start it. The vehicle would either turn over and die immediately, or not even turn over at all. This would happen a number of times before i was able to actually start the vehicle and drive it, and it happened every time i went to start it. I took it to a dealership to resolve the issue where they told me the tipm relaywas shorting out causing the current to the fuel pump to be cut off, preventing fuel flow to the engine. They replaced the relay and i went about my day, after a steep cost for the repair. However, as i looked into this issue online, i found a safety recall for this same exact issue for the same year model vehicles, only they were dodge caravans and dodge durangos. My vehicle is manufactured by this same company as the caravan and the durango, it is the same year model that was affected on these other vehicles, but for some reason there was no safety recall for my vehicle. I am just trying to figure out why this is, and also to voice my complaint about the initial issue at hand to hopefully bring this to light.
The contact owns a 2012 dodge ram 2500. The contact received a recall notification for nhtsa campaign number:14v635000 (engine and engine cooling, fuel system, diesel) and stated that the part needed was unavailable to perform the recall repair. The manufacturer was not notified of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. The vin was not available.
While in drive, went over speed bump and vehicle turned off.intermittent ignition problems have gotten worse to where now vehicle now turns off / quits.
The key ignitionswitch crank up and then dies about 5 time the s run good like you think go to pull out on the road and the truck dies because of the key switch almost died because of it lucky the truck driver saw me sitting in the road
Have connected dealer twice, have contacted chrysler group recall center but vehicle is not fixed.dealer tells me they don't have the part to fix.chrysler did not respond after connect notice.
I have received a notice of recall 2 times since december 1,2014 for diesel fuel heater electrical connector and have been to the dodge dealer several times to get this taken care of. The dealer states that they do not have the parts. This has been over 8 months now and i am now experiencing electrical problems with this vehicle as well as what appears to be a sticking throttle as i drive. This is a serious situation as the vehicle does not slow down when releasing the throttle. It also at idle will increase the rpm on it's own. Update 9/15/15*cwthe fuel heater was fixed. The electrical problem still exists with high idle and the vehicle only slowed down when the brake was applied. The high idle and constant instances of failure of the vehicle to slow down was a recurring problem as well as the inability to obtain information from the vehicles information port still exists. Updated 10/01/15
On nov 23 2019, while i was driving my truck it suddenly died. I pulled over and started it again. This happened 2 more times that day once on the highway. Since then it has worked intermittently with the issue happening while in motion and also while stationary. I did some research and found out that i'm not alone with this issue. I have read several forums with a lot of owners complaining about the ignition module, win. Clearly this isn't a couple isolated incidents and needs to be addressed by ram. I would find it hard to believe that a total loss of power due to a faulty win that has been recognized as an issue and modified in newer vehicles wouldn't be a safety recall. From what i gather this particular win is able to get dirty on the circuit board thus causing a failure in the connection and ram knew about the problem.
Vehicle was parked in driveway for 6.5hrs. Was unoccupied and not running. Key was not in vehicle. No accessories were plugged in. Flames suddenly erupted from under hood driver's area. Vehicle caught fire and is a total loss.i heard the horn sound prior to noticing the smoke and several times in the fire.
When driving my truck on any kind of rough road or hitting a bump the truck will shut off. This happens at all speeds while driving in town and on the highway. When the engine shuts off i lose all power to steering, power brakes and all electric components. I have found that the win module is the issue.
2012 ram 2500 with defective win module with only 67,000 miles.engine can shut off when driving.
The contact owns a 2012 ram 2500. While driving approximately 70 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The contact coasted the vehicle to the shoulder. The contact attempted to restart the vehicle three times, and was successful on the third attempt. The failure recurred at least twelve times in the past two weeks. The vehicle was taken to the dealer (brad francis dodge in los lunas, new mexico), but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 86,200.
Have a shake in the truck! have taken it in many time to be fixed! for four years have heard it normal to you will have to live with it. Finally after 6 or 7 dealer one decided it would open it up. The hooked it up to this machine that would tell them were it's coming from. They tell me the only thing they can find is a trans mount. So after that they open the rear end they had to rebuild it. Then they had to put all new from rear end up to the engine while power train. It still had a shake! then they got an ok to open the engine from chrysler. So they adjusted the value lash. O almost forgot the dealer had my truck 7 months to fix the problem. So when i picked it up from szott m-59 on thursday at around 7 pm and buy saturday morning truck is on fire in drive way at about 9 am. I drove it on friday ,i parked it by 4 pm . So it was off for about 17 hours or so. Have no idea why there was a fire. Really would like to no what happen. Hearing that there is a problem withalternator. But with the dealer taking of the top of the motor off toreadjust the valve lash.i think they had to take of the wireharness and battery cables to work in it. Would love to find out what went wrong!!!!!!!!!! the truck was in driveway facing south wind was coming from the south. Temp out side warm. Truck wasshut off around 4pm fri. Fire looked like it started on driver side. Looked like battery area is were the fire started driver side. I have to much paper work to send!!!!

Front end vibration loose steering. Over 60mph very bad vibrating almost feels as if the truck was being pushed one way and going the other. Braking also causes the steering to wooble or pull depending on the speed, when hitting bumps in the road way is the worst i never know where i may end up. All highway and turning into companies i use it as a sales vehical

While driving on the highway traffic ahead was coming to a stop because of a truck making a left hand turn i applied the brakes and the engine continued to stay at the same speed.i avoided an accident by shifting into neutral and noticed that the engine was running at 1,800 rpm.i then put the truck into drive with the brakes applied and it started to downshift the transmission very hard. This occurred several other times as i drove home. I took the truck to the dealer the next morning and had it serviced for a recall and the problem of a stuck throttle which i thought to be the problem.i was called back to pick up the truck on 1/10/2014 and immediately had the same problem later that day. I took the trick back to the dealer on 1/13/2014 and have yet to receive an answer to the problem only that they can not find a problem with it. This concerns me very much as this condition could and will in the future cause an accident, injury or death should it occur again.

The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that there was no recall. The failure mileage was 67,197.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer (ryan chrysler dodge jeep, 1212 2nd st w, williston, nd 58801), but the failure could not be duplicated. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The contact referenced nhtsa campaign number: 17v562000 (engine and engine cooling), but the vehicle was not included in the model year for the recall.
Dodge has issued a recall from october 7 2014 for recall p65 / nhtsa14v-635 stating that the diesel fuel heater may overheat leak diesel and cause smoke under the hood or catch fire.after having service at the dealer they stated they have no fix yet or parts for this safety issue which may cause a fire, here are their words from their website under recall status for my vin incomplete but repair parts are not available.this is the second safety issue where dodge ram has had a safety issue but no parts the first was the left tie rod where they had no parts available.why are they allowed to issue safety recalls and have no parts to fix issues that could cause the vehicle to catch on fire or smoke this places people on the road at risk.

When driving the truck i will occasionally smell a very strong diesel exhaust odor from the a/c vents in the cabin of the truck, only when fresh air is selected (not recirculate).i have noticed this smell only occurs when coming to a stop, and usually corresponds when the truck is in a regeneration process.the only indicator i have for regeneration is severely decreased fuel mileage the very strong untreated exhaust smell being emitted into the cabin of the truck.after 5 visits to the dealership for attempted warranty repair, the truck still was not repaired and the condition continued.i contacted chrysler's customer care and to seek resolution and was assigned a case number. In the meanwhile, i was instructed by the dealership to keep the ventilation system in recirculation mode to avoid breathing in the exhaust fumes. Subsequently, after several different conversations with chrysler customer care staff, i was informed this is a "characteristic" of the vehicle and that i reserved my legal rights to pursue action.chrysler knows this is a problem, and would rather seek protection from legal settlement or some other means to avoid addressing the problem.i don't think the owners of these vehicles (including myself) should be exposed to untreated exhaust in the cabin of the truck, period.this is a carbon monoxide safety hazard that needs to be reviewed and addressed.upon research i discoved similar compliants were made to the nhtsa for model years 2010 and 2011.additional research shows other ram 2500/3500 owners with the 6.7 cummins turbo diesel have the same issue.i have documentation of all the dealership visits, all the times/dates and names of the chrysler employees i spoke with, along with my original complaint sent to chrysler.furthermore, i have the research documentation available from other nhtsa compliants.
When driving at slow speeds ( 0 - 45 mph ) or stopped deisel exhaust enters the cab through the air vents due to a leak under the hood. I have been told that this is normal by the dealer and the manufacture's rep. The truck has spent a total of 35 days in the shop so far, with no resolution. I have tried to lemon law the truck but since the dealer refuses to change any parts, i cannot.

Prior to epa emissions recall i would achieve diesel fuel efficiencies as high as 21 mpg highway, pulling a 18 foot trailer at a 1 hour duration.the city mpg averaged to 13-15 mpg, since the emissions recall update made on this vehicle, mpg has averaged between 10-13 mpg on highway with no load/no trailer and averages between 9-11 mpg in city.these benchmarks have been consistently compared and road conditions have been same. To add to this issue, there has been a loss of power that has caused unexpected hesitation in a number of instances.several times i was put in harms way as crossing city divided highway, crossing streets and/or dividing highways where that multi-directional traffic lights are not always present.to further explain, realizing the power pickup was not present and turbo did not seem to be 'spun up' even though acceleration was increased dramatically. Note, to help to possibly remediate these potential accident occurrences, i must power brake and increase engine rpm's to help bring the vehicle to a power level to reduce the risk of power latency.this sometimes helps but not always because power impotency seems to be unpredictable at times.
We took our truck to the dealership for a brake recall. After the recall was fixed, my dad was driving home on the freeway with my truck when my check engine light started flashing and blinking. It was almost immediately after that the truck started to shake and was having a hard time accelerating. He got the truck to my house. I drove it straight to the mechanic a few miles from my house and experienced the same issues. Whenever i would slow down the truck would start shaking. It was extremely hard to accelerate and made it difficult to turn as i didn't know if it would actually go. I didn't want to be stuck in oncoming traffic. The check engine light was continuously blinking and beeping. After a tow truck took it back to the dealership, they said the cam shaft and lifters needed to be replaced. We were told it would be a very expensive repair. After looking online, there were many forums where people had expressed concern about this same issue in 2011 and 2012 dodge ram trucks. There were no indications that there were any issues with the truck before it happened.
While driving normally at a speed approximately 45 mph, the truck flashed the check engine light a couple times and chimed, then i lost all power. The power steering was disabled, and i had to manually guide the truck off the roadway into a private drive and call for a tow. I was told by a shop that the valve seat of cylinder 1 failed and broke apart inside the cylinder and damaged the cylinder while allowing oil into the cylinder as well.i am told the engine needs replacement.i am waiting for the shop's diagnosis documentation.

The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed that the vehicle was not included in a recall. The failure mileage was approximately 115,000.

After returning home from the dealer, the vehicle suddenly caught fire while parked in the driveway. The contact called the berlin township and elmont fire departments to extinguish the fire. A fire report was filed. The vehicle was salvaged. There were no injuries. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and opened case number: [xxx]. The approximate failure mileage was 89,000.

Chrysler has had nhtsa campaign number: 14v635000 component(s): engine and engine cooling , fuel system, diesel in effect since october 2014. My truck has this recall problem. I continually have engine code p2609 active. I have contacted chrysler about this and all they will say is that the repair parts are not available. My truck is still under warranty but chrysler will not repair the truck. Along with the "check engine light", i have a diesel fuel smell entering the passenger compartment at various times. Chrysler will give me no date as to when they will repair this problem. The local dealers say they can do nothing until chrysler get the repair parts needed. My passenger headlight works intermittently. The bulb is good. The wiring harness inside of the housing has been changed and did not solve the issue. It will work for a month or so then not work.
The headlights on this model dodge ram (2500 slt mega cab) do not provide adequate illumination at night.my headlights are adjusted properly for alignment by the dealer but the bulbs just do not provide enough light ahead or to the side of this vehicle.the dealer can only "check the connectors for proper installation" under warranty.i have not been able to get a response from chrysler.
The headlights are not adequate to see safely at night. The lights do not shine forward of the vehicle enough to be able to see what is ahead at night, such as curves in the road. Also, the lights do not project to the side of the vehicle enough to see when making a hard turn to the right or left.they do not provide any light at all when turning. I sometimes have to roll down the window and stick my head out to scan for obstacles as best as i can on dimly lit roadways. I can use my high beam lights in traffic and never get flashed by other drivers due to my lights blinding them.
The automatic headlights shut off in the dark for no reason. I was driving on a back road with no street lights. I was coming into a turn and all of a sudden the headlights shut off. It was pitch black and the headlight switch was in the auto feature. I quickly reached and turn them on manually. This was very dangerous. If i wasn't on a road i normally travel i would have wrecked.
Began having electrical problems. The most serious, while driving after dark, the headlights went out. Airbag light indicator goes on intermittently. Radio goes dead. Replaced headlight bulbs and had tipm flashed but occurred again.
The contact owns a 2012 dodge ram 2500. While driving at dusk at approximately 70 mph, the headlights activated and then independently disengaged. I was driving down i 10 today going 70 my truck started vigorously shacking and making my truck run off the road it was all i had to keep from crashing my front end or read end felt like it locked up then i tried pulling off and my truck had little power it took several minutes to get it running right again but every bump i hit the same problem happened i looked underneath my truck and could see fluid coming from my steering column this happened literally at 180000 miles at 86000 miles my 2012 diesel exhaust filter clogged completely up and the dealer said it wasn't covered under the 100000 mile warranty i paid $934 to have it repairedi believe thati have exhaust problem s still too.
I have two recalls for the fuel heater shorting out and possible fire. I call dodge to get it fixed and they tell me the parts are on back order. If they can't fix my truck i want one that me and my family can drive and feel safein.

Have connected dealer twice, have contacted chrysler group recall center but vehicle is not fixed.dealer tells me they don't have the part to fix.chrysler did not respond after connect notice.
Excessive fuel consumption..less than 10mpg, high operating temperature, power/performance with/ without. Moderate towing loads.high temperatures associated with elevations in excess of 4ooo feet.frequent engine light appearance.
In december chrysler mailed an "important safety recall"p65/nhtsa 14v-635.when i called my local dodge ram dealership to schedule an appointment to correct the safety issue, they told me the parts were not available.for more information i would have to call chrysler.on 12/26/14 i was told by chrysler the parts would be available april 2015.on may 1st, i received a subsequent "important safety recall"p65/nhtsa 14v-635 from chrysler, so i called my local doge ram dealership to schedule the appointment.i was told again the parts are not available and i would have to call chrysler to get more information.i do not believe chrysler is taking this important safety recall seriously.that being said, on the safety notice it says "a leaking diesel fuel filter/heater could cause under hoodsmoke and/or an engine compartment fire".
I received a recall notice in early december 2014 stating that there is an issue with a diesel fuel heater electrical connector on my truck that may lead to o-ring failure and potential fire. I have contacted the dealer twice and as of last contact they have no idea when a "fix" might be available. Since possible fire is the risk and the dealer, initially, did not even know they was/is a recall, i am concerned. The dealer suggested that i contact chrysler since the dealer knew nothing about it. Since i was talking with the chrysler dealer that i purchased the vehicle from, i assumed i was talking with chrysler. It has been over a month since my last contact with them and i have heard nothing to date. Can you help or provide additional information, please.
I was driving at 60 mph when i had to come to a stop because of traffic and the throttle apparently did not disengage causing me to slam on the brakes hard. Only after a few seconds when i stopped did the vehicle downshift and returned to idle function.this has happened before and since this incident.the vehicle has also idled high at times and will not slow down when removing pressure to the fuel pedal.it is as if the throttle assembly sticks which is an apparent electrical malfunction.this is and has become a serious safety issue with this vehicle.i have made a complaint before and contacted dodge ram about this with no satisfaction.i will be drafting a registered letter to nhts board and dodge ram releasing liability from this issue until it is resolved. I alsohave a recall about the fuel filter heater from december and still the manufacture has not provided the parts so as to fix this problem which can cause fires in the engine compartment.

When accelarating, from a stop especially, the throttle intermitantly will give an almost dead response. It can be pressed all of the way down to wide open and it slowely developes power and does not reach full power untill after the 1, 2 shift.it is dangerous and is going to cause an accident. No mil light nor troible codes are present.

After receiving notification from dodge that parts were available to correct the diesel fuel heater electrical connector (recall p65/nhtsa 14v-635) my dodge dealer (rairdon dodge, bellingham) told me the parts for the recall were on back order from dodge.subsequently the check engine light came on shortly thereafter and when diagnosed the problem was with the oxygen sensor system.once again the dealer told me that the repair parts were on back order from dodge and they would call when the parts arrived, this was close to a month ago and in the meantime the truck has been parked and not been used.i believe that this extended period waiting for back ordered parts is excessive and needs to be rectified, especially when dodge indicated that the parts for the recall were available.
While traveling s/b on route 17 in new jersey at approximately 55 mph i heard a loud grinding noise coming from under my truck and then suddenly my front wheels of my truck locked up and i skidded to a complete stop.the truck was unable to move forward or back and i had to get a tow to a dodge dealership on route 4 in new jersey. Dodge repaired the front axle saying it was a recall of which i did not receive any notice, also suresky dodge in goshen, new york always serviced my vehicle since i purchased it new in 2012, they never notified me of such recall.
Ram 2500 6.7 diesel. Truck has a 1-3 second delay in acceleration when releasing the accelerator pedal, and then pressing it again. This is not related to turbo-lag like others may have assumed, but rather engine management. Example: if you are driving along in town at 30 mph, come to an intersection and start to make a left turn, then decide that oncoming traffic is too close so you back off the throttle, then change your mind again and step on it to make the turn, the engine simply does not respond. If it is any consolation, i know of many people with the same issues, with model years from 2010 to present, and all with the 6.7 cummins turbo diesel engine.
I have a 2012 ram 2500 heavy duty and my left front axle seal started leaking. The dealer fixed it. Now 11 month latter it leaked again . They replaced it as warranty. Now one week latter started leaking again. Dealer still does not know what is going on.

The transfer case of the truck broke suddenly and since i was driving at 75 miles, the rotation of the metal parts keep going and broke mayor parts under the rucks such as transmition, suspension, oil lines, diesel lines, and much and much more even made a hole under the cabin. The part under the truck just look like something exploded because the damage is too big. Even beyond repair for me.
The contact owns a 2012 ram 2500. While starting the vehicle, the contact noticed an abnormal sound and transmission fluid on the ground underneath the vehicle. The failure mileage was 75,000.
Heard clunking noise while shifting between reverse/drive. Took to dealer and they said they couldn't find anything. Now it is out of warranty and the noise is so loud i am afraid to drive it. It only has 65000 miles but it is over on time by one year. Sounds like it is from the transfer case area.
The contact owns a 2012 dodge ram 2500.the contact stated that while accelerating at 50 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was able to restart. I was driving my 2012 ram 2500 cummins down the interstate at 70-75 mph. There was a loud explosion followed by multiple violent sounds coming from the bottom of the vehicle just below my feet. The floor board below my feet was pushed upward nearly 1 foot from the drive train components slamming into the cab until i could get pulled over. The drivetrain nearly penetrated into the cab. I was able to get the truck stopped on the shoulder. After looking under the truck the transfer case had exploded leaving metal components all over the interstate. The explosion has caused from early estimates 15-25k in damages. The transfer case, transmission, driveshafts, brake lines, wiring harnesses, emissions components among other parts are completely ruined. The truck may be totaled. The truck is still under warranty and chrysler isn't being very helpful. Thankfully there were no injuries but that might not be the case next time.
Vehicles transmission will default into 4th gear. At 75 mph on the freeway, my truck began lurching and the rpm fluctuated then the transmission downshifted on its own and would not shift from 4th gear. I limped the truck to my destination, and contacted ram customer care who put me in touch with my local dealer. Still waiting on the appointment to have my transmission checked. Note that i could not manually shift the transmission up or down either. I was stuck in 4th gear, at 75mph.

My wife and i were going down the highway at 75 mph when there was a sudden vibration then a loud bang, and there was something hitting underneath the floor. I was able to get in the breakdown lane. I looked underneath the truck and the front drive shaft was missing and most of the transfer case. I went back and cleaned all the stuff off the road. Also after further examination there was a large hole in the transmission housing from the front drive shaft hitting it and the brake lines and other lines and hoses in the vicinity were destroyed.the ins co. Would not cover it and the repair bill was in excess of 10,000.

I own a 2012 ram 2500 6 speed manual transmission with 130 thousand miles on it first. I was driving down on an interstate in dan antonio going around 70 mph when i hear and feel a bad vibration. I start to slow down when i hear a loud bang and feel something hit the floorboard. It hit so hard the pens i had next to the shifter flew to the backseat. I immediately lose my clutch (slave cylinder was smashed) and i limp it to the side of the road. I make it to the shoulder put my flashers and turn the truck off. I get out and my front drive shaft is completely gone and so is half of my transfer case along with the slave cylinder to work my clutch. My fuel and brake lines are intact but are pulled down below the frame. I inform my insurance immediately, and they come out to inspect it, and say it was mechanical. Since i didn't have mechanical coverage on my full coverage there is nothing they will do. I have my mechanic look at it and say the vibration caused my bolts that hold the front drive shaft to the front differential sheared off and the shaft got lodged into the ground causing it to break the transfer case in half. From what i've been told this is more of an issue than ram wants to lead on. Transfer cases are hard to get ahold of same as the drive shaft. So far i have gotten the slave cylinder master cylinder replaced for 150 dollars. I've been quoted upwards to 2000 dollars for a remanufactured transfer case. Since they don't come with the motor that is another 300 dollars. Then the front drive shaft cost around 700 to 750 dollars. To pay my mechanic for the work he is going to do it for 500 dollars. A total of 3650 with another 150 to tow it back from the shop since my insurance refused to do that for me. A total of 3800 dollars because the cv joint went out without any warnings signs.
I left the truck running, i walked about 20 feet away while doing some cleaning on my property and when i turned around i saw what looked like the ground on fire. It looked like fire dripping down from underneath the truck and in no time the truck burned to the ground. What do i need to do at this point? should i get an attorney?

Transfer case literally blew up. Causing transmission to bust in two and multiple pieces to shoot off, causing loss of brake lines and brake usage, as well as parts being sent into the cab of the truck. Transmission shop stated this is the multiple incident of a transfer case blowing up on dodge ram vehicles (with no recall) and this was by far the worse, causing damage to even the frame. Truck was traveling down the highway at 65 mph. No ancillary conditions, normal driving. Truck began to vibrate and then blew up sending pieces into the underside of the vehicle, causing loss of brakes and pieces to enter into the cab.*dsy

On monday 9-2-2013 i dropped of my truck and took my car for a ride. On 9-3-2013 i contacted chrysler corporation to report the incident but i am not getting any call backs from them so know im letting the insurance company handle it.i have obtained a surveillance tape copy of the fire.
The water pump went out causing the fan belt to come off.evidently the fan belt system is directly connected to the brake system.had we been going a high rate of speed we would have been in serious trouble as we had no brakes.this is an incredible flaw in the design of this truck.fortunately we were going slow when the vehicle malfunctioned and we were able to coast to a stop.hopefully no one else has the fan belt come off.not only that, i really don't think a diesel truck with only 46000 miles should be throwing a water pump.maybe there should be more studies done on the vehicles as to the amount of dangerous designs it actually has.
The break transmission shift interlock locking pin on vehicle may become stuck in the open position allowing the transmission to be shifted out of park and to any gear position without depression of the brake pedal and/or without the key in the ignition - dealership won't have the parts available to fix the recall until "probably around summer time," according to the service department.

I was driving up to a stop sign when my brakes got very hard. When i went to turn, it was almost impossible.every time i push the brakes the steering locks up but when i accelerate i get the steering back. I almost ran off the road into a ditch.

The failure mileage was approximately 45,000.
Please look into abs module and hcu failures requiring replacement. I spoke with dodge and they stated it is a know problem and requires replacement of parts. The anti lock braking system and hydraulic control unit have been failing on ram 2500 and 3500 since 2006. My truck is a 2012 with just 35972, (not a daily driven truck so yes low miles) miles on it and is failing. This failure causes the cruise control to stop functioning. Please look into ram forums and read all the complaints and look at the variations in years, if this is a know problem that can cause the abs to fail how are they not repairing this. This trucknis still on the factory installed brakes
Speed about 20 mph with no throttle, power steering and brakes stopped working. A few seconds later the steering and brakes worked again. If the steering and brakes did not start working again this could have caused the vehicle to crash into another motorist.this is not the first time this has happened.

Factory installed trailer breaks do not work, i tow a 10,000# trailer that i cant tow without trailer breaks. Called dodge @1-866-726-4636, thay know of the problem but cant fix it. This will eventuly lead to an accident.i was on the c.a. 101 north and had no trailer breaks this is dangerous

I received a recall notice on my vehicle for a "left tie rod ball stud on your truck may fracture under certain driving conditions". It went on to say that if it broke while operating the vehicle a crash would most likely occur. I called both dodge dealers in colorado springs, co and tried to schedule the repairs for my truck. This is the only vehicle we have. I was told by both colorado springs dodge and perkins motor city dodge the chrysler is only sending one part per week per dealership!!! there are over 350 people on the list at colorado springs dodge and 58 at perkins dodge. If chrysler is only sending one part per week, it could be would be over a year from now before my vehicle is repaired! this is totally unacceptable!
Please note that over a year ago i received a postcard stating i need to take my vehicle in for a recall. I have tried to get this recall fixed but all chrysler dealerships tell me i'm on a waiting list because each place only gets a few per month.how can this be safe? i keep getting postcards from chrysler asking why i haven't completed the recall fix? please tell me what else i am suppose to do? i have exhausted all efforts with 3 different dealerships to try and get this problem fixed.why is chrysler only making a few available to each dealership?
Front end vibration loose steering. Over 60mph very bad vibrating almost feels as if the truck was being pushed one way and going the other. Braking also causes the steering to wooble or pull depending on the speed, when hitting bumps in the road way is the worst i never know where i may end up. All highway and turning into companies i use it as a sales vehical

After a long rod trip, i was parking my truck and the left tie rod broke. If i was driving at 65 miles and hour i could be dead now.dodge wants me to tow my truck and they are going to do me the "favor" of replacing at no cost...i have to get myself another truck to drive.
I have received my fourth recall notice for n49/nhtsa 13v-529.dealer in lexington park still has no parts.i am on waiting list for the past 4 months.chrysler is failing to take action on recall.
This is in ref to safety recall n49 / nhtsa 13v-529.i received a recall form dodge and took my truck into miller's dodge in martinsburg wv.the service dept. Looked and said your left tie rod ball stud needed to be replaced.i have called to check on the part status 3 times.it has been 5 months and everytime i put my family in the truck they are at risk.i am told that the part is on back order.i received another recall notice from dodge which prompted me to log this.
My vehicle is part of the ram truck repurchase under recall n49. Fca us sent me an offer for my truck that i received october 26.i filled out the paperwork and e-mailed it to the listed address. I called the next day, october 27 and fca us verified they had recieved my documentation. They said a check for the repurchase had been requested. I was informed this would only take 2-3 days to issue a check. I called back on november 17 because i have not heard from fca us for three weeks.at this point fca us claimed they were waiting on my documents. I told them they had already verified receipt of said documentation on october 27.the representative said " let me look" and after looking verified fca us did have the documentation and stated they would request a check for the repurchase.i asked how long until i could expect to here from them and i was informed that they are not giving times. I questioned the fact that they told me 2-3 days 3 weeks ago and was told "that's not true, we are not giving times". Is fca us going to be held accountable?it doesn't seem like they have any intent in paying me or my family for our unsafe vehicle. This ram 2500 is my primary vehicle and i cannot replace it until fca us pays us what is owed and this being our primary vehicle we have no choice but continue to drive this unsafe vehicle with faulty steering that could break and cause us to crash.

While parking my ram 2500, my center drag link joint at the crimped portion where the tie rod links in cam apart.this completely disabled the steering of the drivers side wheel.this in not a wear joint or a, normally replaced joint on the steering components.this link on the right side (facing the vehicle) goes to a tie rod end, and on the left side it goes to an adjustable link, for adjusting wheel alignment, and then onto the left (again from the front of the vehicle) tie rod.this happened in a parking lot, when i was positioning the vehicle in a parking spot and turned my wheel to correct my location.the joint being described separated.disabling any steering ability.

I submitted my original recallnotice for the replacement of the left tie rod end (n49/nhtsa 13v-529) to tate branch dodge in artesia nm on or about january 6, 2014 and was told at that time i was first on the list to be done. I still have not been contacted by the dealership regarding the repair. This is beginning to concern me that they have no regard for me or my families safety.
I noticed for 6-8 mos steering issue to the left, called dealer said nothing wrong. At various times a strange clunking clicking left front wheel area as decelerating and turning left weight to the front. Now choppy tire left front as there are no ball joints it appears tie rod is bad or something.while pulling into a turn the other day august 17,2015 the veh pulled heard the clank again and the steering pull caused us to strike fixed object.dealer says not affected by recall, but we have all the same issues, and noted for awhile steering at intermittent times problems... What can i do very afraid to drive as we drive interstate often with loads, we need the vehicle but it seems to have the same issue as recall even though our vin shows different plant, but what do we do just be killed first?help please.

My left tie rod snapped as i was backing out of my parking spot. There is already a recall on this matter. Writing to you just to get this information out to as many as possible. I went to tri county chrysler in pottstown, pa to get an inspection to see if i needed the recall work done. I was told that i did not need the recall done, so they entered my vin in saying they completed the work. So a couple weeks later my tie rod snaps, so much for not needing the recall done. So i get it towed to another dealer and they say yes i need the recall done and do the work. Something needs to be done about this. This is a very serious matter, i could have been seriously injured or could have injured someone else.

I had recall n49 / nhtsa 13v-529 conducted on my vehicle, now the steering wheel has moved from the center to the right.my direction of travel is straight, when driving, but the top of steering wheel is now pointed to the 2:00 pm.i asked the larry h miller ram in utah, if i could do a buy back and they told me "no your vehicle does not qualify because you had the n49 done on it".when i read the fca v nhtsa it did not say that, it said they "fca" will do a buy back due to the case in question.
I received the recall notice in january 2014 and went to my local dealer. They said to check back in february.i called in february and they said check back in march. I was told that the parts aren't even available.i checked again in april, they said call back in may which i did and my parts were ordered may 1, 2014.it's june 9, 2014 and i called my dealer to find out when to bring my truck back.they said it will be a couple months because they are only given a couple parts at a time.fortunately i've not had an accident but you would think for a steering defect the manufacturer would make this part a priority. My complaint is that neither the manufacturer of the vehicle nor the faulty part have remotely responded in an acceptable timeframe for a defect that could result in serious injury or property damage.

We received a safety recall notice n49/nhtsa 13v-529 regarding our dodge 2500.we begin the process to have it repaired in january with our local dealer.in april we finally got in to have it inspected.we do have the faulty left tie rod ball stud that needs replacing.our local linwood chrysler dealer tells us, in several attempts to have the work done, that they have only received 2 parts from chrysler.when we contacted the 2nd dealer they told us a similar situation.we have went from # 7 on the list, to # 31, and now are # 41.when we contacted chrysler we were told that 5-6 of these repair parts are shipped weekly to each dealership with waiting list.we have found that chrysler is shipping one part every 21 days to some dealerships, sometimes.they repeat the same "fair distribution" line to us, the customer, and i have no idea what they are telling their dealers.we have not drove this expensive, faulty truck for 8 months because of this safety issue.we are unhappy about the lies of "parts on order".

Chrysler issued recall #n49/nhtsa 13v-529 on jan. 6, 2014 for a defective left tie rod ball stud that may cause loss of control of the vehicle while in motion. I contacted my dealer immediately and was told i would be put on a waiting list for the part which was not available at that time. After checking with the dealer multiple times since jan. 6, i have still not received the repair to my vehicle and was told that chrysler would only send one part per week per dealer.this is unacceptable. Chrysler has not offered alternate transportation while one is waiting forcing one to either park their vehicle until the part arrives or be forced to drive a vehicle that may lose control of the steering at any time causing possible injury to the operator or others . I called chrysler's recall assistance center on march 3, 2014 and was told there was nothing they could do except open a case file.

You can not control the movement of the truck when towing.it wonders from side to side of the road.took to dealer to have the front end checked. It checked ok. Bf goodrich installed 4 new tires at 1900 miles.truck still road walks when towing.the only way to stop it is to apply the brakes. Otherwise, the swaying motion of the truck, will make you leave the road.i know it is not the trailer that i am towing.reason #1:i have all the safety equipment to tow this trailer properly.reason #2:is that i hooked the same trailer on my 2009 gmc diesel 2500 and the trailer towed perfectly.i did this on the same road, on the same day.this dodge 2500 diesel left the road with me twice while towing the same trailer.the further you drive the truck, the worse the towing problem is.so far, dodge can not find the problem with the dodge 2500 diesel.this is definitely a safety problem.if you try to tow over 40 mile per hour.with my 2009 gmc diesel, i can tow this trailer at speeds up to 70 miles per hour with no problems whatsoever.if dodge can't fix this truck, (a $50,000 truck), i feel that i should get a full refund of the purchase price.because of right now, it is definitely a lemon.someone is going to get killed if the problem is not corrected. The reason i bought the truck was to tow with it.which i can not do, because it is too much of a safety risk and the other drivers on the interstate.i sincerely hope that you will check into this matter.

I keep receiving an "important recall notice" forthe left tie rod from chrysler but they will not make enough parts to get it fixed.there last line on the notice is " we're sorry for any inconvenience, but are sincerely concerned about your safety".if they really cared about my safety they would make a lot more parts to fix my truck and the other 100 or so that are waiting in northwest montana.

I purchased this vehicle from stew hansen ram on april 3, 2014. During the purchase procedure, i was not fully informed of the existing recall n49. It was not until several weeks later when i received an email notice of an oil change being due that i found out about the recall, as it was included in the maintenance notice. I then found out about the parts unavailability. I was very clear when buying the vehicle that i would be towing a travel trailer to ca with it this summer. I believe the dealer was quite remiss in not informing me of the situation prior to the sale. I also believe it should be illegal to sell a recalled vehicle that has not been repaired, especially one with potential loss of steering control. The dealer has been unable to provide a time frame for repair.
In dec. Of 2013 i received a recall notice #r49 from chrysler concerning the left tie rod on my 2012 dodge truck. On the 2nd of jan. 2014 i called the dealership in folsom calif. For an appointment, i was told the part was not available and would have to be ordered. As of this writing (7 may 2014) the part is still not available and i am # 50 on the dealers list for repairs. I've called the dealer 6 times, mfg. 3 times, and the national highway traffic safety administration and have had no satisfaction in getting a resolution. It will be a cold day before i purchase another chrysler product.

While backing out of a parking space and placing the vehicle in drive to go forward, i heard a loud clunk.stopped for a moment and checked underneath and found that the left front tire rod had broken off and was hanging almost to the ground.i took it to my regular place for maintenance and had it repaired.my research found that there is a recall for year models up through 2011 but none for 2012.
Frame broke in 3 spots, along with a frame and wheel bearings, gear control box, alignment, the truck body moves when turning not the wheels. The tire stabilizer hasn't turned off in over a year after pouring thousandsof dollars in repairs..truck is undrinkable and not even 10 years old.

I have a 2012 ram 2500 with 20,000 miles. Whenever you go over a bump or railroad track the truck starts to wobble uncontrollably that you need to come to a complete stop.on one occasion i was on the new york thruway traveling at 70 and hit a bump and couldn't even see straight it was wobbling so bad. Have brought to dealer when it first happened last year and was told it was a bad steering dampener was replaced and problem still exists. My wife will not use the truck because is terrified of the issue. I have owned many ram trucks and have never had this problem. An inexperienced driver could result into a serious accident.

3 different instances, while traveling from different road surfaces, cement to gravel, gravel to tar. Seems small difference in road height causes truck to shake violent, and lose control of steering ability.2 of 3 times ended up coming to a stop in ditch. Only after crossing both lanes.thank god there was nobody else on the road at the time. After the second time it happened i went on line to see if anybody else had this happen to them. What i found was that they did and they have a term for it [ the dodge death shake ]. The after market even makes parts to correct the problem. From new steering links ,steering boxes.and frame stiffeners. Makes a person wonder,if they have a term for it,and make products to stop it.what the hell you are doing about it?. And why do consumers have to pay thousands out of pocket, to repair an poorly designed product them selves? from lawsuits to lies and everything in between.
Driving down the road the truck shakes so bad you have to get stopped before it goes away. Almost felt like i was going to flip the truck

This truck has had issues with steering since about 10,000 miles.i have had the previous steering related recall (13v529000) fixed yet the steering still doesn't feel right.i had brought to the dealer multiple times to address the issue and each time i was told that nothing was wrong. Last sunday i turned on to a two lane road and at a cruising speed of about 35 mph my stability control started going crazy.within a few seconds, a loud pop.i was trying to figure out what was going on when i realized the car was not reacting to my turning of the steering wheel.i was on a slight right curve and veering into the oncoming traffic lane without steering and i slammed on the brakes just before hitting a parked vehicle on the opposite side of the road.i avoided a head-on collision only by chance that there wasn't a vehicle coming the other direction.with the known steering issues of the truck i am nervous the existing recall didn't properly fix the truck's steering problems.i had the truck towed to the dealer and i was told the problem was not related to the steering recalls.i had a broken drag link terminal and pittman arm (neither under warranty).my truck has 70,000 miles and has been driven on-road only and under normal to light conditions for all the miles.in my opinion these critical components should never break especially at only 70k miles on a supposedly heavy duty truck.with my family in the car, this event could have ended much much worse.we are thankful.

Front end has popping noise in it.dealer told me i would have to have steering linkage replace soon.i see there was a recall on my year/model truck but i never received a recall for this problem. Should i not be driving it much because of this recall?this has been ongoing for several years, they just mentioned it in the last time i got it serviced and another recall taken care of.has done this since i purchased truck new in february of 2012.
We just got our 2012 ram 2500 out of the shop for the steering locking up. The first time we took the truck into a dodge dealer, greenwood, in gilroy, ca, told us they couldn't duplicate the problem and didn't offer any kind of resolution. The second time we took the truck in,to the same dodge dealer in gilroy, ca, for the same issue, on july 6th, they said again, they could not duplicate the issue. However, they said they found metal in the steering pump fluid. They said, the warranty agrees to pay for the pump, but the part would not be in that friday or the following week. We had a camping trip scheduled and asked if it was safe to drive? they would not indicate. We had made an appointment to bring the truck back in on july 19th. On july 24th, service department said, the pump was an upgrade and the warranty company wouldn't pay for the new fitting and hose required for the upgraded pump. We told them to go ahead and replace the pump with the upgraded steering pump and fitting/hose. We complained to the dealer's management and they paid for the fitting/hose and finally gave us our truck on saturday, july 25th. On july 27th, i heard about the buy back the government is issuing to fca us llc and decided to send you my problem with the steering on our 2012 dodge ram 2500 diesel 4x4.

Speed about 20 mph with no throttle, power steering and brakes stopped working. A few seconds later the steering and brakes worked again. If the steering and brakes did not start working again this could have caused the vehicle to crash into another motorist.this is not the first time this has happened.

I have not had an accident, but there is serious potential for one. Regarding chrysler safety recall n49 / nhtsa 13v-529: this is a recall for a serious problem that can affect the vehicle's steering. Two different dodge dealers have told me that they can only order a few parts each week. Here in susanville, ca, there are at least 37 trucks on the repair list, and chrysler can only deliver 1 part per week!the last person on that list has to wait 9 months to get his truck fixed. In the meantime, we all have to drive on mountain roads and risk losing our steering. This is atrocious.

I have received my second notice to get the recall fix n49 i have been on my dealers list since the first notice which i got in december 2013.the dealer told me i was number 15 on the list, i called in march and asked wasgoing on and they said chrysler released parts then recalled those and they haven't got any new ones.if this recall is so important and can cause you to crash why are they not fixing them faster.this shouldn't be happening that we have to wait this long to get a recall fixed.something needs to be done about them not getting the parts out quicker.
I am a marine stationed aboard mcas new river in jacksonville nc.i had just dropped my son off at his babysitter.i arrived at work and as i was pulling into my parking spot i noticed that my truck would not turn.i came to a stop just before i hit the truck next to me.i put the truck in reverse and i noticed a dragging sound coming from the front of my truck.i got out of the cab and checked it out.that is when i noticed that the left tie bar had sheared from the ujoint.i was lucky that i was not driving at a high rate of speed while my son was in the truck when this happened.to survive 4 deployments to iraq but to only get killed by a broken bolt.when i dropped it off i was told that it would get fixed with the same hardware that failed in the first place because they new parts were not available.i am a helicopters mechanic andi am not new to safety and quality maintenance so the idea of putting the same part on that failed before does not seem right to me.if it were something in the entertainment system or maybe the comfort control, i could see something like this being done.not the steering!!! we are being told that i would not be able to have courtesy vehicle from the dealer because they don't offer them because of recalls.so they tell me that they will fix my truck with recalled parts and give it back to me to drive until parts come in.really!! so i risk the lives of my family members cause dodge wants to safe a buck.i don't believe that i am responsible for this and dodge should stand behind the product it produces.this is a safety concern that must be addressed.it leaves me and other families no choice but to drive a dangerous vehicle.
My grandson and i were taking my 2012 dodge ram to the dealer for warranty work we were doing around 60 mph when we crossed a rail road crossing the vehicle started wobbling so bad i thought i had blown a tire everything on the dash and center console flew on the floor anything in the back seat went under the front seat it scared both of us. I told the dealership about it they could find nothing but axle seals leaking but did,nt have time to fix them. I work in the north dakota oil fields i have to have this vehicle so i got an appointment at another dealership 100 miles away they could find nothing wrong including the axle seals and charged me 96.30. I took this vehicle 1150 miles to north dakota without any problems however on the way back was another story. Montana raised their speed limit to 80 mph at slightly over that the vehicle started wobbling out of control when i went across one of those little bumps on a bridge i did not think i was going to get it under control befor i went off the road or in to the guard rail it did this to me three more times befor i got how. I stopped by the dealership that i bought it from and they said there was no recall on this vehicle. I called dodge customer service they informed me that it was probably a woren tire or it was out of alignment. I find out there is a class action lawsuit against dodge for this and they risk my life and my families life not to mention the people i could have killed if i had been passing a truck or anyone else on this freeway at the time this happened at 80 mph someone usually dies in an accident. I was never notified of any kind of safety hazard with this pickup.
Tried calling in for the left front tie rod recall to auto nation dodge and they told me that they have recalled the parts to fix. Called the chrysler help line and they were not helpful at all. The lady i talked to could not tell me when chrysler is supposed to have the part to fix the recall. Why is chrysler sending out notifications and telling people to call there local dealers to fix the recall when they do not have the parts to fix and why is it taking so long?

Driving on freeway 55 mph towing heavy duty concrete trailer ( 2 axle4 yard w/rear mounted mixer) and truck violently started shaking bad , leaving me with no control . Have invested over$1000 in parts alone, with no luck. Now am replacing all tie rods and ball joints $500 (parts alone), to see what happens. Though i have read there is no fix??? cant sell it cuz i owe 36,000 and it is only worth 25,000. I am 3 months behind on payments cuz i need truck for work to make money, but has been in shop (unrelated would not start) for 3 weeks and $1300 more dollars, for some fuel module b.s. And my finance company wants to know where their money is, and what is wrong with the truck? so i ask them which month they would like to know about. These trucks are garbage!!!! never buy dodge ( probably why they changed name of trucks to "ram") some legal mambo jumbo to save their ass. And the government bailed them out for what???? what brought me here was a search for tie rods, cause i believe that to be my problem. After reading all the complaints about tie rods breaking, i will now replace all tie rods on my own dime, because my life is worth more than $1000 dollars of parts. There is definitely something being covered up. Why in the hell can dealers only get 15 parts (b.s.) a month, but i can go ebay, amazon, (which i am by the way) and have them in a couple days.cause i am paying for them? is chrysler that broke ? crappy products, crappy design, and guess what, no accountability. Recipe for disaster if you ask me. Up yours dodge , ram, chrysler, whatever name your hiding behind this month.!!!
While driving down the highway doing 65 mph, i accidentally bumped my ignition with my knee and turned off the vehicle. I did notify dodge of this via their website but did not get a response. I drive a 2012 ram 2500 and noticed it was not on the list for the ignition recall. I believe it should be looked into, i would hate for there to be a fatality because of this oversight.

I received a recall notice in january 2014 for a recall and mandatory replacement of the left tie rod ball stud.i call my dealer right away but they did not have any parts.i recently went in for service and they check my truck and said everything looked ok but it does need to be replaced since in is on the mandatory list.there are 186 people on that list and they only get a replacement part after they install one.the average turn around time for parts is 4 days.that means that some people will have too wait up to 2 years before there truck gets repaired.i think this is a little ridiculous.i live in a rural area and do a lot of travel in very rural areas.if i break down i might be stuck for days to get out and same for a lot of other people that live up here.

This is not acceptable as this is a safety issue and we tow with this truck!!!!further more i tried to call the [xxx] # and got nothing but a sales pitch and when answering not interested i was hung up on twice! why are government lines being used for sales pitches rather than service? because of this i have not been able to file a complaint. While entering highway and getting up to speed onto i95, truck started to vibrate.i backed off then tried again to accelerate, at this time the steering wheel violently shock in my hands left and right rapidly.i let off speed and it wasn't until i got into the break down lane at approx. 45 mph that i was able to steer the vehicle without any shaking of the steering wheel.i then pulled out again and resumed.the incident has happened a few additional times mostly while transferring from solid pavement to crossing bridges.i made appointment discussing the issue.i took truck in they rotated tires and it was gone for a little while.now here it is july and the truck is starting to react that way again, mostly while traveling on bridges.the left arm had previous been replaced and still have this issue.

I bought a 2012 ram 2500 crew cab 4x4 made in mexico 10th month of 2011.i bought the truck dec 28th 2011 new.the truck was pulling to the left and under a load you can not control the truck.under a load, it wants to dart all over the road if you have something hooked to the bumper.took the truck to 3 dodge dealers complaining about this above problem.dodge says there was not a problem with this truck whatsoever.but, after hooking the trailer to my 2009 gmc diesel with no problem at all towing i knew it was the dodge truck that i was having problems with.dodge still didn't want to admit that there was a problem with this dodge truck.i took the dodge to a frame shop.the frame shop called me in less than a hour requesting that i return to the shop, so they could show me the problems with the frame.the frame is off from plus 5 mm to minus 23 mm off center.the rear end is sitting about an inch closer on one side than the other making the truck want to turn left all the time.the bed on the truck sits crooked to the cab.dodge still don't want to fix the truck.i hired a lawyer but dodge has not replied.i think it is time that the federal government stepped in on this matter.because i have a factory defective vehicle.

At apprx.38,000 mi,on a freeway at 65 mph, ran over a small bump in the road the truck began shaking violently, as if it was going to fly apart.took foot of the gas, hit the brakes until slowed to approx.. 40 mph. I'm a small female it was all i could do to get the vehicle to the off ramp. This was not a normal tire out of balance situation.if so it would do that consistently.a few weeks later it occurred while my husband was driving it.he's definition is like a bucking bronco. We purchased an extended warranty from the dealership lake norman chrysler dodge. Took the truck in we thoroughly explained to the service writer how dangerous this is, it's a safety issue. He wrote it up as a very bad vibration. Their findings was a steering stabalizerand replaced it.mileage was 42722. It doesn't do this with every bump you hit. This vehicle is not driven often. Now only a few hundred miles later it happened again twice. Both times while traveling on the freeway 60 to 65 mph. When you're on a freeway and atractor trailer truck is behind you, it is life threatening to take your foot off the gas and hit the brakes. The truck is back at the dealership has been there for 1 1/2 weeks. They can't find anything wrong. We have discovered this is called the death wobble and dodge has had this problem for years and has never solved the problem.this has been a major problem on the dodge ram 2500 and jeep wranglers. Normally it occurs when the vehicle has 150,000 miles on it or better when parts have worn out, not at 40,000.if the dealer says that all the parts and bushings are good, if so, then this is a dodge ram design flaw. There are reports all over the internet of other owners who have this same problem and how dangerous it is. We paid a lot of money to purchase this vehicle and now can't even drive it.

In addition, the contact was unable to control the vehicle as the steering wheel required excessive force in order to turn the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed that a bolt needed to be screwed onto the track bar. The vehicle was repaired.the failure persisted and the vehicle was taken to a different dealer who stated that the front end needed to be replaced.the vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 19,000.updated 7/29/15updated 10/2/2017
The contact owns a 2012 dodge ram 2500. When the vehicle made a left turn, a popping noise was present near the front end of the vehicle.
I left the truck running, i walked about 20 feet away while doing some cleaning on my property and when i turned around i saw what looked like the ground on fire. It looked like fire dripping down from underneath the truck and in no time the truck burned to the ground. What do i need to do at this point? should i get an attorney?
The contact owns a 2012 ram 2500. The contact stated while driving at an unknown speed the track bar bushing fell apart and caused excessive shaking without warning. On 12/29/2011 i bought the 2012 dodge ram 2500 diesel 4x4 4 door truck. The truck was built the 10th month of 2011.the night that i bought the above truck on my way home the truck started pulling to the left.being night time i could not get out to check it.on jan. 2, 2012 i returned to the dealer and stated that the truck was pulling to the left.they stated that the truck had been on their lot 6 months and that the tires more likely had flat spots in them from sitting so long and it would work their way out in 500 miles or so.after 500 miles the truck was still pulling the left. I took it the dodge dealership.they said nothing was wrong. But, they did x rotate my tires and said it should take care of the problem. Everytime you towed with the truck you could not hold it in the middle of the road.bf goodrich put me on a new set of tires hoping to correct the problem.it did not.i took it to 2 more dodge dealers and they check the front end but did not correct my problem. I have filed complaints with dodge complaint department, case # 21958388 and they wanted me to take it to more dodge front end shops. I refused to since i had taken it to 3 already and i took it to a certified frame shop to see if they could find out what was wrong with the truck.the frame shop called me back and stated that the frame had so many defects that it was unrepairable and if i would come to the shop they would show me some of the problems.everything they showed me was from 5 mm to 25 mm off.the rear end is setting at about a 5 degree angle which makes the wheel base longer on one side than the other.the truck is always to make a left hand turn on the rear end.the frame shop stated that if dodge had checked the front end they would have found the problem. There is no repairing this frame.dodge should buy this truck back before someone gets hurt badly or killed.
I was driving slowly forward in a parking lot. I turned left and my left tie rod broke. I was unable to move and had to have the vehicle towed to the nearest dodge dealership.

Regarding recall notice effective jan 6 2014 n49/nhtsa 13v-529contacted dealer numerous times they say no parts available from manufacturer meanwhile i continue to drive vehicle with this defect present i feel like thedealership and the manufacture are not taking this problem seriously!

Our 2012 dodge ram 2500 truck 4 door was parked, upon parking the truck when the gear was put into p the doors unlocked and the key was removed.went into the back driver side door removed some items closed all doors and locked doors with remote.left the area for about 1 hours upon return a friend said is that your truck rolling towards the boat ramp.sure enough i looked over and saw our truck moving picking up speed towards the boat ramp.luckily if you want to call it that it was stopped by another truck and trailer as our truck swiped the passenger side of the other truck which was the only thing that stopped it from going into the water.upon inspection by the responding sheriff the doors of our truck were still locked and the truck was still in park no one touched the truck until it was looked at by the sheriff.
Leaking exhaust at the head.seems to be a very common problem and numbers of complaints on the internet indicate a recall may be necessary due to danger of asphyxiation.

My wife was getting into the truck and stepped on the step board and the board fell off the truck. I was told by the dealer that this is a common problem, but there was nothing they could do about it because i was out o warranty. Luckily me did not get hurt. Twice a week i pickup an elderly lady that uses a walker, if she had step on it she would have gotten hurt badly
Upon placing my seatbelt on i looked at the silver part that is the outer portions of the controls , right next to the 4w dr button and there was a circular actual melted area, when touched was rough/burnt, could see the black plastic underneath . No other areas noted. . took to dodge, and they state, after having the truck 4 days , they statement as to cause is, " that it is a direct sun burned portion zeroed in thru the back window that heated it up, melted the circular areaand is not under warrenty.we have a mega cab,all tinted, was in our driveway which is covered w/tall fir trees. We have livedhere for 24 yrs.we are afraid it will cause a fire as dodge would not look for the cause.the engine light came on & we where taking it in for another air flow detector as this has been the 3rd one replaced, r/t smog gagets. We r both retired and do not take any trips,d/t my and myhusbands conditions
Exhaust small in cab win using the engine brake.
The driver side door locked and i was unable to unlock the door in anywaywhich caused me to enter and exit the vehicle through the passenger side . The truck was parked when the door was locked and then was unable to unlock it . Yes it was a major inconvenience but also a life safety issue if i would have happened to been in an accident or if the truck would have had a catastrophic failure i was unable to exit the vehicle in a timely and safely manner . My major concern was blantantly over looked by dodge and i was told it an inconvenience and had nothing to do with life safety.
Truck will shut off while driving. Sometimes will start back up a second later, sometimes need to bring it to a full stop, to restart the truck. It will do it at random no matter weather type of driving, it will just do it.
Win ignition modular suddenly went bad.can go out when driving.does not allow key to be removed.can drain batteries (found this out after replacing both batteries).fortunately, vehicle was stationary, but left me stranded.
I was driving up to a stop sign when my brakes got very hard. When i went to turn, it was almost impossible.every time i push the brakes the steering locks up but when i accelerate i get the steering back. I almost ran off the road into a ditch.

The spray nozzles on all dodges are breaking way before they should. The hard plastic nozzle breaks where it is attached to the fluid tube. This makes it so the nozzle does not spray the windshield to clean it with the wipers. My truck is only 5 years old and both nozzles have been replaced. There are many other dodge owners with this problem, many videos to see on youtube.
