I became aware that the tipm module is defective. I notified dodge on this problem and even requested assistance on repair. On 11/03/17, was told dodge denied claim. In my opinion this may be a safety concern, since the tipm module controls fuel system, air bag deployment, wiper operations and a few other systems. I've noticed on the internet from dosge forums that alot of dodge and chrysler owners also had issuses with the tipm module. I was quoted for repairs around $1200.00 .
Truck was idling, just got home and the master window switch started smoking and as that happened both back windows rolled down and fire came out from window switch.
Upon activating the high beam head lights, engine will begin missing and eventually stall.headlights will blink off and on.all dash lights and electrical systems will also fluctuate power (radio, wipers, tail lights, hazards, front parking lights and turn signals).all gauges on the dash will go dead.while driving on 7/22/2016 at approximately 9:15 pm the high beam head lights were activated. The engine began to miss and all electrical systems began to turn off, and then back on.the engine stalled at approx 65 mph leaving no power steering.truck was able to be restarted once it was brought to rest on the shoulder.high beams could not be used or the problem would repeat.make:ram (dodge)model: 2500year: 2011engine/powertrain:6.7l cummins turbo diesel w/ 6 speed automatic.
Power steering failed while driving.it will go in and out intermittently and then work periodically.our tie rod already snapped and was replaced under recall, but now the truck has power steering issues.a vin check says all repairs have been completed on our truck but we are still having steering issues.was driving and making a turn when the steering went out initially and we could not turn the vehicle.also, brake control system is malfunctioning, causing locking trailer brakes, roof suddenly began leaking and flooded interior cab, tire pressure sensors are malfunctioning, heater flap in dash is bad and been in for repair 2 times and its not fixed.air conditioner is not blowing coldand the backup camera does not work.the truck has 60,000 miles now and is still under warranty, but dodge says it can't fix some of the problems due to no warranty or not being able to locate the problem.

The emissions check engine light came on and was diagnosed as a overlay wiring harness that was faulty and needed to be upgraded. This vehicle only has 67000 miles on it and this item helps control the diesels emisiones. It should be covered by the factory for the 100,000 miles as stated. Upon contacting fca they refused to help in any way to cover cost of repairs. This repair is happening on multiple diesel rams . I only ask that fca be held responsibility for vehicles that produce and sell
The contact owns a 2011 ram 2500. While driving 60 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the tipm module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 43,000.
Today i received the second recall notice p65/nhtsa 14v-635. The previous one i called the dealer and he said all parts to repair on backorder, will call when have part. That has been months ago. What do they expect me to do with another notice?
Service bullitin 25-003-13o2 sensor wire harness ending with (ac) o2 sensor and o2 computer module failure.
While operating the vehicle on a city street, highway, and off road; on both a rough paved roads and while running over bumps in the road, the vehicle experienced sudden loss of power (engine and all powered accessories) affecting the vehicle's engine, power steering and braking.fortunately, no accidents or other events have occurred when i was operating the vehicle during this sudden loss of power.while the vehicle was powerless, in motion, the vehicle had to be placed into neutral and the engine restarted before regaining engine and accessory power.this is not the first occurrence and has happened numerous times since purchasing the vehicle used in 2015.i have replicated the loss of engine power while parked with the engine running: by slightly moving the vehicle's ignition key fob while attached to the wireless ignition node (win) module, this caused the vehicle's engine and accessories to shutoff.while researching a solution to the problem, i found numerous comments on vehicle forums and chatrooms, as well as in youtube videos relating to issues problems with defective wins that needed to be replaced and the vehicle be reprogrammed.in my opinion, mopar has known, or should have known about the issues with the win and the vehicle's sudden loss of power while the vehicle is in motion.loss of power events like i and others have experience has the potential for causing a serious accident resulting in death of serious bodily injury.
The air conditioning system only works while driving down the road. When the ambient temperature is above 90 degrees and the vehicle is started and while the air conditioning is on the interior cab will not cool down. It is not until you start to drive the vehicle that the air conditioning starts to cool and will keep cool unless you stay stationary for a while. I have had the dealer inspect the a/c unit multiple occasions and they find no problem. When a basic internet search is performed i find multiple sources indicating a defective fan clutch and once replaced this problem goes away. Normally i wouldn't care but since having a 9 month old while living in oklahoma its become more of a necessity during these extreme summer temperatures.
When we got home last nite i saw smoke coming out from under the hood and i could smell something burning like electrical. I opened the hood and the alternator was pouring out smoke. I grabbed my hose and poured water on it until i could disconnect the batteries. Upon research i found the same problem on 2013 model years. I feel the 2013 recall may need to be extended to earlier model years. I am fortunate the truck did not catch fire.
The contact owns a 2011 ram 2500. While the vehicle was parked and the hood was lifted, the contact observed smoke coming from the engine area. The fire department was not contacted. The contact stated that the wires to the alternator were burned. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact called an unknown dealer and was informed that the repair cost was $400. The vin was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 17v435000 (electrical system). The manufacturer was notified of the failure and stated that there were no recalls associated with the vin. The failure mileage was approximately 250,200.
Truck would not start due to faulty timp module. Luckily it was parked at home, but needed towed.
There are two issues at hand here. One is the fuel pump fuse/relay. It went out but cant be fixed without replacing the entire fuse box as it is internally within fuse box. I did a bypass and replaced fuel pump, but i still have codes related to fuel system having a leak. When this issue happened, my wife was left stranded as the truck wouldn't turn on. Also, on a different note, i noticed my trailer brake light coming on saying it is disable and flashes on and off as i am driving. Not sure if this is related to the electrical aspect of it. The other was on engine. I have a 2011 ram 2500 5.7 4x4. It started with having a cylinder 1 misfire. I replaced spark plugs and coils. Still had issue and after some research, i found out that the valve stem/spring in engine head break and cause the lifters and camshaft to rub and release metal shavings through out engine. While this was messed up, i would notice the truck would shake very hard as i approached a certain speed limit.i took truck to dodge dealership to verify research and it was confirmed. I was told i needed a new engine. So i replaced engine. Total bill was over 7500 for parts and labor.
I had my truck towed into the dealership for a "no start". Problem did continue with the dealer a few times with no codes. The problem is that the truck would start and then when you try to restart vehicle, it would not start. Dealership concluded that it was a software issue, that needed to be updated with the some module in the truck. Unfortunately, i had ti pay for this updated, in which this problem should have been considered a factory issuse. Which in my opinion that the dodge corp. Should have covered this expense. I seen on the internet with other people having the same problem.
The contact owns a 2011 ram 2500. While driving approximately 80 mph, the vehicle lost power. The vehicle was coasted to the side of the road and restarted. The failure recurred several times. The vehicle was taken to ron sayer's chrysler jeep dodge in idaho falls, idaho 83401 (where it was diagnosed that the wind module needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to nhtsa. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 153,000.
The win module makes the car shut off, without warning to the driver. This has happened many times going doe the free way at 81mphs. It also happens in the city. You never know when it it going to happen.the truck literally shuts off because whenever. It also has issues starting back up.
The contact owns a 2011 ram 2500. While driving 65 mph, the vehicle turned off and restarted independently. The contact was concerned for his safety. Additionally, while the vehicle was parked on several occasions, the contact was unable to shift the vehicle out of park. When the vehicle was turned off and restarted, it resumed normal operation. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the failures recurred once. The dealer and manufacturer were not contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 68,000. *dt
Truck shut off while driving. Couldn't steer, couldn't turn, could barely stop. I was in the middle of a rotary with my 7 month old daughter in the car. Most likely the tipm was the cause because it started right up afterwards. No signs or warnings occurred before issue happened.
Check engine light has come on several times with codes p241a and p2196. I have replaced the o2 sensor 3 times within one year. I have been told that this is a common issue and have been told that it is the wring harness.

Engine shuts off while driving. I am able to get it started again by moving the ignition key around.
To whom it may concern, my wife and i own a 2011 ram 2500 6.7 turbo diesel. It was purchased new by her parents. I bought the truck from my in-laws a year ago and it's just over 80,000 miles. Unfortunately, over the last 6 months, we have run into a couple of major engine problems:-o2 sensor (includes overlay harness and module replacement), approx $1,500-turbocharger - variable flaps not operating properly, approx $5,000 (according to rairdon of monroe, wa)everything i have read and every mechanic i have talked to (including the chrysler dealer) has said the only true fix is to delete the egr/emissions and run the truck without it. It is very strange that the most trusted fix is an illegal option and there is no assistance from chrysler for either of these known problems. Seeing as the delete is an illegal option, i attempted to go the legal route and get the o2 sensor fix at the dealer. Not minutes had i picked up my truck, driving out the of dealership, the check engine light came back on for the turbocharger. There is service bulletin for the o2 sensor issue, however it was never submitted as a recall. If it is a known issue (a manufacture error), why was there no recall issued by chrysler? it seems the overarching issue comes from the emissions equipment. Along with the o2 senor failing, the turbocharger is now spitting out an engine code (p2262). Due to the carbon/soot build up from the egr, the vanes of the turbocharger become clogged. This is also a known issue and not a recall. Please let me know what solutions are available. Thank you!

The contact owns a 2011 dodge ram 2500. While driving approximately 60 mph, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the turbo needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred 10 days and 75 miles later. Blue smoke emitted from under the hood of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the turbo extenuator failed and the turbo needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 57,000.updated 01/21/16*lj
The check engine light came on in my 2011 dodge ram 2500 diesel on may 28th 2015. I called the dodge dealer the next day and the earliest i cloud schedule an appointment was june 15th. I brought the truck in as scheduled and upon review the emission system was malfunctioning. The dealer made some repairs this day - a faulty wiring harness i was told and the problem was fixed. While driving home the check engine light reappeared. The dealer reexamined my truck the next day and the engine light problem again was diagnosed as the emissions system - this time the co2 sensor was defective. I was told the part was on back order day of and should arrive at the dealer in a week - it's been almost two months now and my california emissions problem has still not been rectified. I understand that co2 sensors are back ordered and not available at this time. I have made numerous calls to the dealer and dodge to avail - i even have a case number 27426249 and my problem still persists. This truck only has 33200 miles on it.
Exhaust manifold bolts are cracked , 981 hours on the motor and 36,000 miles on the truck, the cab fills with exhaust smell, the bolts are defective see odi 10937913
Diesel fumes invade the cab of the truck when it is undergoing the "regeneration" phase of its emissions cycle.we are literally choking and holding our breath when this happens on a daily basis.the fumes are much worse if we have the heater or ac working at the time.it happens when we are moving but it is much more pronounced when the vehicle is stationary at a stop light or when parking.

2011 ram 2500 with 5.7 hemi motorexhaust manifold bolts break allowing exhaust manifolds to become lose from engine, allowing hot exhaust fumes to escape exhaust system and enter passenger compartment, while being driven, causing possible carbon monoxide inhalationanddeath.the exhaust manifold leakwill alsocause the very real potential of a deadly fire in engine compartment.
Ignition key when is running it fall out off ignition hole, is this safe?

The contact owns a 2011 dodge ram 2500. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the check engine light would illuminate on the insutrumenatl panel and the vehicle would exhibit a decrease in fuel efficiency. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer, where they were unable to diagnose the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified and offered no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 6,355.
When the vehicle's engine is running, if the frequency operated button ignition key (fobik) is moved in any slight movement, the engine will immediately shut off.it appears the fix is to replace the wireless ignition node (win) module, similar to other safety recalls issued for other dodge/chrysler models.the vehicle will shut off every day now and has even shut off while driving on the interstate. We had to try to safely pull to the side of the interstate and restart the vehicle.
The contact owns a 2011 dodge ram 2500. The contact stated that while driving 30 mph, the exhaust system failure warning message illuminated. In addition, the contact mentioned that she was unable to turn off the vehicle. The vehicle began to roll backward abnormally with the transmission in park, and the contact was then able to shut off the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the software needed to be updated. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure who did not offer any assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 6,000 and the current mileage was 15,800.
First incident, while driving, electronic throttle control light warning light went on and the engine died.could not restart until vehicle was stopped, put in park and the key was cycled from on to off and back.dealer diagnosed the failure on 11/28/10 based on the presence of diagnostic code p2121, "accelerator pedal position sensor performance.".part was ordered (it was on backorder), repair was scheduled for 12/12/11 and vehicle was returned to me.on 12/5/11 the failure repeated itself, on 12/12/11 the part was replaced.on 1/5/12 same failure happened again, although this time i was towing an 8000 pound car trailer.was able to stop and pull to the side of the road, narrowly avoiding an accident.this seems to be an incredibly dangerous design flaw as a stall causes loss of both power steering and brakes, not to mention loss of the exhaust brake.

August 2013 we bought aftermarket wheels for our 2011 dodge ram 2500. July 6, 2014 while washing truck, we noticed six (6) lug nuts and stems/bolt missing. Two missing on rear tire and two missing on both front tires. Contact our tire company to get the problem repaired and he stated that chrysler has that part, the lug nut bolts/stems, is on a nationwide back order and did not have an estimate to when they would be available. Now, i don't feel safe driving a truck with 6 lug nuts missing and cannot get it repaired.also, when i get it repaired, will it happen again? probably, that's why the part is on back order.

When i stop at traffic light/stop sign diesel fumes come through the vents and into the cab. Fumes are very strong. This all started the first year i owned the truck back in 2011 (bought new). Once you take off down the road with windows open fumes clear out but come back when you stop.

Recall p65 - dealer will not give me the information about the work to be completed and neither will chrylser. Dealer cannot do the work because have nothing else to drive and i work.dealer did a recall before and did not soldier like he said, butspliced wires, made a mess, and is probably what he wants to do now. I cannot trust a dealer to fix the repair. Chrysler needs to replace the whole unit and not short cut me on the repair. If it is so critical.

While backing into a parking space, the tie rod broke causing both front tires to tilt inward.i happened to be at a dealer's lot and had to have it repaired at this location.upon contacting my dodge dealership i was informed of the recall and then contacted chrysler where i was told - on three separate calls - this was not part of the recall.i've since found a published notice by chrysler, stating my exact make & model and the exact tie rod breakage as being part of a recall.chrysler has denied reimbursement of my repair approximately $600 on a $50,000 truck with only 40,000 miles.at the time of this incident myself and a passenger had just exited off a major interstate where the speed limit is 70 mph and i was towing a boat.i can no longer trust dodge vehicles, their customer care due to their lack of safe products.

The contact also stated that he would have to restart the vehicle in order to get it to shift into drive. The vehicle had not been inspected by a dealer nor had it been repaired. Also, when making turns at low speeds the contact noticed that a grinding noise could be heard coming from the steering column. The vehicle was inspected by a dealer, but they were unable to diagnose the failure. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 7,000. The vin was unavailable.
Going into a curve front end of vehicle shakes and you have no control over the steering. Dealer can not find anything wrong. Does not do it consistently but have heard other ram owners having the same problem. When my ram does this you have to completely stop the vehicle due to loosing control. At some point this is going to cause injury or death.
Traveling 70mph lost rpm and acceleration; then truck became responsive again.3 yr old daughter said truck smelled funny.exited freeway about a mile to maybe 2 miles after incident; made a u-turn to dodge dealership about 2miles away. Burning smell coming under the truck. The dealership said the rear differential went out and the bearings had melted, and there was fluid in it. The truck did not have 4,000 miles on it yet 2011 dodge 2500 heavy duty diesel.
The contact owns a 2011 dodge ram 2500. The contact stated that the design of the front driver and passenger side head rests could potentially break her neck if rear ended by another vehicle. While making a turn and applying the brake pedal, complete loss of power steering causing vehicle to cross center line of roadway and drive into oncoming traffic. Brake pedal also extremely hard to press (possibly loss of power braking at the same time). Steering returning to normal several seconds after releasing the brake pedal. This happened multiple times today, with shutting the vehicle off completely between occurrences of this failure.
The contact owns a 2011 dodge ram 2500. The contact stated that while driving 45 mph, the brakes locked up and caused the vehicle to stop instantly. The vehicle was restarted but he was having difficulty driving it to his house. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer for inspection. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 26,000.
I am having problems with the factory installed brake controller on my 2011 ram 2500. The controller will not send enough power to the trailer to stop it even with the brake controller set to the max. I have had the trailer checked and towed it with other trucks with no problems. I contacted dodge about the problem and was told that they were no problems reported. Upon checking with a local dodge dealer i was advised that others had the same complaint. I also found a update for the brake controller which didnt help. This is very dangerous and dodge was told. I am going to have to put a aftermarket controller in my vehicle to tow the trailer safely. My concern is safety. Why did dodge lie about problems with the factory brake controller and did change it in 2012 so you have more control and why were they a update for the brake controller that dodge didnt tell the owners. This is a serious problem that dodge needs to fix
The brakes skip when being applied at any speed.took the truck to get serviced at the dodge dealer and the mechanic knew exactly what was wrong by the description i gave him.he stated he normally gets dodge trucks in twothree times a week for the same issue.basically, dodge used a sleeved brake line and the inner line is separating from the outer sleeve and sliding into the pump.he stated almost a foot of brake line had slide into my pump.at 37k miles something like this should not be an issue.
When getting off the expressway ramp the brakes seemed weak, then i could not turn the wheel and had to almost stop.i had no power assist on the steering at this point.once the wheels were straight again it seemed fine. The next few turns had the same problems causing me to almost hit objects and other cars as i could not turn the vehicle.i was not pulling anything at the time.my son-in-law had the same issue on his same make/model/year dodge truck at about the same mileage last year while pulling a 5th wheel.he took it in and they flushed out the power steering system as a fix and it has not occurred again....yet.problem could be related to contamination in the hydraulic system which will jam valves, or it could be in electronics modules.either way its not good, especially when pulling a large 5th wheel.
The contact owns a 2011 ram 2500. The contact stated that while driving approximately 65 mph and making a left turn, the braking system malfunctioned and the vehicle would not immediately slow down. Additionally, the power steering failed causing the steering wheel to become difficult to turn. The contact indicated that the failure had occurred on four separate occasions and occurred while the rpm was below 700 rpm. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who was unable to duplicate the failure. No repairs were performed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. A dealer was not contacted. The vin was not available. The failure mileage was 75,000.*dtfailure occurred after braking and going about 20 mph after the rpm's drop to about 700.
Integrated trailer brake does not brake with trailer. The truck has to do all the braking for vehicle and trailer causing very unsafe towing. Chrysler is not helpful with assisting my local dealer to remedy this issue even after i have already paid for the unit to be fixed.
August 7, 2015, i was driving my 2011 dodge 2500 4x4 crew cab diesel with 47265 miles, down a narrow canyon road with a drop off into a river on one side near my home. I began a righthand turn at about 20-25 mph when both the power steering and power brakes went out.i was pulling with both hands and had both feet on the break and i was still heading straight across the center line toward another car going the opposite direction. I do believe it was a miracle that both vehicles didn't end up down the embankment and in the river.i was able to stop the truck in a turnout past the curve, i could not find any leaks or anything binding in the steering.when i restarted the truck the steering and brakes worked fine, so i drove the 1 1/2 miles back home where it happened again turning into my drive way.the dodge dealer stated that the brake booster failed and that had caused the power steering pump to fail and it would cost close to $2000.00 to fix. I told them to go and fix it, but my lawyer and i would be having a talk with dodge because i believe this is a safety problem and dodge is lucky that they are not owning 3 fatalities.the stated that they would call the factory representative.the dealer called back and stated it would only b e $500.00for "customer participation of goodwill cded".i have lost all confidence in the safety of this truck and with this issue and waiting 5 mos. For parts on one recall and 4 months on another.i can't even sell it because i am waiting on an o2 sensor for 2 1/2 mos. Now.please look into this steering and brake issue to see if it is an isolated problem or something else before somebody does get killed.
Truck suddenly started bouncing all over the road. Felt as though all four tires had suddenly gone flat. Extremely difficult to maintain control and went into oncoming lane sideways. Inspection did not show any failed component (tire, steering system, etc). Check engine light illuminated for a day, then went off. Light illuminated again, with no indication of problem. Loss of control has happened three more times since first occurrence. Similar speedsduring each event, with two different operators. Serious difficulty retaining control to stop the vehicle and roll over/crash concerns preclude attempting to duplicate event. Dealership has been unresponsive to date. I will never trust the oncoming dodge truck until this is addressed. People are going to die. It is sad.
Integrated trailer brake system failed and will not read any trailer when connected. States 'trailer disconnected'
At highway speeds, the truck begins to shake violently and cannot be properly controlled. Driver must immediately reduce speed or stop in order to regain control of vehicle.this occurs especially if hitting any kind of bump at highway speeds, even if it is negligible. It is enough to lose stability.the shaking is so violent that it is difficult to maintain a grip on the steering wheel.because it happens without warning, it places all occupants in danger as well as other motorists because the vehicle cannot be properly steered and must be immediately slowed or stopped, creating a road hazard to everyone.through research, we have been told this is colloquially known as the "dodge death wobble," and was subject to a recall prior to our purchase and was not disclosed to us.we have since attempted to determine the exact cause of the violent shaking as well as any remedy from the manufacturer, but have also learned there is a pending class-action lawsuit that may cause the manufacturer to hesitate to admit there is a known problem with the "replacement" parts under the prior recall. We have been fortunate to not have an accident (and therefore no police reports, etc.), though there have been close calls when we had no choice but to use the truck. We choose to take other transportation whenever we can. This is a very dangerous defect that must be addressed before someone loses their lives. We plan to take video if we are forced to drive the truck again, or ask our dealer to drive it and confirm the defect.this began approximately in august, but may have been before (i am filing complaint for my husband) and truck has over 100,000 miles on it, but i do not have exact mileage with me at work.thank you for your consideration.

While driving my 2011 dodge ram on the freeway, the front end started shaking so violently that the hood latch popped, and forced me to the side of the road. Towed to dealer nothing found wrong continued this 10 to 15 times until it took me across two lanes of traffic to the center median on the interstate at 70 mph.the steering arm and dampener was replaced. Continued the same problem 3 more times and 3 separate dealers have looked at vehicle and made repairs. I have 15,000 miles on vehicle and continue to have same issues and dodge will not make it right. I have a 50,000 dollar death trap that i am expected to drive or trade to an unexpected family!

In december of 2013, i received a safety recall notice for the left tie rod ball stud on my truck. As instructed, i contacted the dealer to have this fixed and was told that i'll be called in two to three weeks but i was never called. Since then, i've gone back to the dealership on three separate occasions, the last visit was on july 2nd 2014, on this visit i was told that i'm next in line and will be called within a week, it's now two months since that visit. My understanding is, this problem could cause a loss of directional control and/or crash without warning.

My truck has been to the dealer numerous times to correct a shimmy or as the service writer called it a "death wobble" the dealer has felt the issue and on numerous occasions tried to fix it. Including aligning the vehicle out of factory specson the advice from the ram engineers. They have also swapped the steering stabilizers with a heaver duty one from the 1 ton ram 3500. Neither fix has worked to correct the shimmy or the slight pull to the right. The truck is flat out dangerous to drive and i did not realize how bad until i was towing a 5200lb boat at 65 mph. Neither the weight or the speed should have been a problem for this 3/4 ton truck but after driving over an expansion joint the truck started to shimmy and that combined with the trailer sway almost killed someone. The only reason someone did not die in that instant is i was the only person within a mile. If someone would have been in the left lane i would have taken them out with a truck and trailer that was nearly uncontrollable.*
While driving my 2011 ram power wagon from speeds of 35mph to 70 mph any small bumps in the highway or expansion joints in the road put this vehicle into an extremely violent wobble with uncontrollable steering issues. I immediately brought vehicle to dealership and dealership had said they never heard of this, they agreed to replace the steering damper and the problem still persists. I'm a professional driver of fire apparatus and have never been as deeply concerned about my safety as now driving this truck. I looked up on the internet and there are countless wobble issues associated with ram 2500 and ram 3500 trucks. I am not positive if my local dealership understands the severity of the situation. This can and will result in injury or much worse, death. Please address this issue in a timely manner to protect not just the thousands of dodge owners but the innocent bystanders on the same road with this truck.

While rounding a left hand curve, lost control of the vehicle when the vehicle suddenly jerked hard to the left.the vehicle then started an uncontrollable spin and went over an embankment and into a dry creekbed.the vehicle sustained substantial damage.on inspection the front left tie rod assembly was broken.myself and my 14 yr son sustained minor injuries.we later received notice from chrysler on 12/24/2013 of the recall of our vehicle for same failure of tie rod assembly.
I noticed a severe wobble which almost caused me to wreck in the left front after hitting a small bump in the freeway whils traveling 70 m.p.h. The wobble stopped when i slowed down.this continues to happen when i hit any kind of a bump at speeds of 70 or more. The next time i drove on the freeway and hit a bump the truck went into a dangerius wobble again .. I took the truck back to the dealer, which time the mechanic rode with me and felt the wobble when i hit a bump at 70 m.p.h. I am seeing a lot of the same complaints with this recall. I am getting the same story that they are waiting on parts and cannot perform this recall now. The dealer does not know when parts are to come in. My concern is, its already been way more than a few months since i went into the dealer and had them verify my truck needed the recall. I don't drive my truck on a daily basis but when i am using it i am usually hauling my dump trailer. I don't want to be the cause of me or someone else getting injured when i know there is an issue with the truck like the steering may fail. I don't understand how there cannot be any parts to replace this yet.

At normal driving speeds, when a bump or expansion joint is hit, a violent shimmy occurs in the front end.the way to make this stop is by hitting the brakes lightly bringing the speed down.the steering feels loose.it's happened 6-8 times in the last 5 days.the truck sways back and forth, this is a serious potentially dangerous issue.

While driving at speeds above 55mph, if an expansion joint, pot hole, or any form of a larger bump is hit, the vehicle will go into what is commonly known as "death wobble."to be more specific, the front axle is shifting side to side underneath the body of the truck, causing a violent shake that is impossible to describe.being an ase certified technician, i inspected my personal vehicle with two other ase certified technicians, and discovered no logical causes for such a shake, but proceeded to retorque every nut and bolt under the vehicle along with adding a new heavy duty steering stabilizer, per dodge dealer suggestion. To no avail, the problem still persists. I can no longer allow my six month old daughter to ride in my truck for fear of death wobble occurring. I refuse to allow my wife to drive my truck for fear of her safety. Make this situation right with ram truck owners, before it takes a life.

I was driving the vehicle down a highway at roughly 65mph.everything seemed to be functioning properly at this time.i signaled to make a left-hand turn onto a street ahead.i slowly braked to roughly 10-15 mph before beginning to turn.when i started to turn, the power-steering in the vehicle failed.in other words, the power-steering was working fine just before executing the turn, then failed without warning just as i started to turn the wheel and was still in motion..the wheels became extremely difficult to turn and i was able to overpower the failed power-steering components to complete the turn and get off the highway safely.however, if my physically smaller wife had been driving, i am not confident that it would have ended as well. There was oncoming traffic on the opposite lane traveling at 65mph when the failure occurred.no dash lights, "check engine", etc. Appeared before or after the occurrence.once the engine is idled up, the problem disappears.it's only when the engine is idled down (like when you're slowing for a turn), that the power-steering would fail unexpectedly.i researched the problem online and found this to be caused by a "sticking valve" in the hydro-boost system.i contacted a local dealership service dept., and was told that the repairs were not covered under warranty after 36k miles (vehicle currently has 48k miles). They do not seem to be concerned about the evident safety issue this poses on a fairly new vehicle.i am writing this complaint in hopes that the nhtsa will investigate this further before someone becomes injured.i understand that parts can sometimes fail on new vehicles, but when they fail this early without warning and affect vital parts that control the vehicle, something should be done.

I received safety recall n49/nhtsa 13v-529 in mid dec 2013 regarding the left tie rod ball stud.i called to schedule an appt. With my local dodge dealership and was placed on a waiting list because they weren't receiving the replacement part.i keep checking with the dealership but have been told that they aren't receiving the parts. So here it is, 4/28/14 and i have yet to have the tie rod on my truck replaced. Horse show season begins in may and i certainly can't take any chances towing my horse trailer with this issue unresolved. I am very unhappy with this situation - this is the first dodge truck i've purchased and if this is how chrysler dodge handles recalls, it will make me think twice before i consider purchasing another dodge truck. If your company issues recalls, it needs to provide the necessary replacement parts to dealerships in a timely fashion. Waiting 4 months, and still not having any idea of when my truck will be serviced, is completely unacceptable level of customer service. I'd sure like to use my truck for towing purposes but feel i cannot do so until this part is replaced. I want to know when i can expect satisfaction of this recall notice.
While driving north on hwy101 at approx 70mph i drove over an expansion joint when the front end of the vehicle began to violently shake to the point of almost losing control. I was forced to brake to a complete stop in the number one lane/shoulder and though the abs was activated it didn't seem effective due to the violent shaking (i believe the front wheels where actually leaving the ground). I was able to hold the vehicle in a generally straight direction but did not have complete control. Once i came to a stop the violent shaking stopped and i was able to continue normally. This was the second incident of a similar occurrence. I had the alignment and steering components checked and all seemed to be within standard tolerances.

It appears the complaint is the same as many. Have been trying to get this recall taken care of and from the begin and have been told by three dealers the same answer! chrysler won't send us the parts parts. So i have been on the list since january 6th. Does someone have to have an injury like with toyota or gm before the problem can get fixed. Disgusted with chrysler to say the least as are the dealers!!!

Experienced extreme vibration, nearly lost control. Was on fairly smooth freeway. Small load in bed of about 300lbs. Driver and one passenger.no trailer. Truck is stock ram 2500 power wagon no modifications..after going over a slight bump on freeway, truck began violent shaking, so violent that i was nearly unable to maintain control. Same event has occurred now multiple times. Already taken to dealer once, will take back again.

Received a recall on my truck (n49/nhtsa 13v-529). Immediately took truck to dealership for inspection as the recall states the "left tie rod ball stud on your truck may fracture under certain driving conditions. This could cause a loss of directional control and/or crash without warning.)the dealer (frontier dodge in el reno, okla.) inspected the truck and told me that indeed, my truck did have the faulty parts and that the tie rods needed to be replaced on both sides. They stated they would order the parts and contact me for repairs.to date, the dealer has not contacted me for repairs. Two weeks ago, i contacted them and asked the status, they said they are still waiting for parts from dodge. If this recall is such as safety issue as to warrant a recall, why is dodge not following through with repairs and ensuring there are parts necessary for repairs?it has been over two months since the dealer ordered parts. I do not consider this a 'reasonable time' especially when my safety is at stake.

I received safety recall n49/nhtsa 13v-529 and took to dealer sometime in 2/14. I have called repeatedly and always get the same answer" we'll call you when it's available". It's the end of june and i have to believe that the parts are available.i just received another notice on the same part.do they not keep track of people waiting? i tow a 10,000 pound camper most of the summer and am on edge all the time i am doing it.
It is sad.

Traveling on interstate highway for about an hour or 74 miles, at highway speed. Suddenly the steering and or front wheels and axle started shaking violently from side to side. Shaking the entire vehicle out of control and into the median.the violent wobble and or shaking was so severe it blew the steering hose off causing the lose of fluid , steering and braking. Had my wife been driving, there was no way she could have held it together. Thankfully i got it stopped without a rollover or involving another vehicle. Something must be done before someone is killed by this poorly engineered front end. I've learned sense then many others are having this problem. Please get something done in behalf of consumers about this matter before someone is killed.
I'm sorry if i am filing this in the wrong section, but here goes. I checked my vehicles vin with your website and with chryslers website, my truck was eligible for the n49 tie rod end recall. When i took it in the dealer told me it had already been done. I asked how he knew, and they pointed out to me the steering link on the right side of the truck.i did some research on the n49 recall and found that it was to replace the tie rod end on the left side of the steering linkage. I understand that this truck could be eligible for the buy back program because of this recall and i can definitely say that right now i am not comfortable with this truck. This truck is primarily used to haul my pregnant wife, 7 yr old son, and 3 yr old daughter.i know that no work was performed on the date the n49 recall was processed on my vehicle.i am not sure what to do!thanks for any help you can provide me.
I have received two safety recalls for this vehicle recall number n49/nhtsa 13v-529. The recall is to replace the left tie rod ball stud on the steering linkage. I received the first recall notice in january 2014.i immediately went to my dodge dealer to have the work performed.dodge stated that they would have to order the parts. Six months later i am still waiting for the parts.today i received the second safety recall notice for the same problem.i called chrysler recall assistance and was told it would take an additional three to five months before the parts were available. That is unacceptable and extremely dangerous. Chrysler is playing russian roulette with peoples' lives.chrysler's claim that it takes nine months to a year to obtain the parts is patently false.they have simply intentionally placed a bottleneck in the recall process in order to improve their cash flow.do people have to die before action is taken?
I would like to know how you require fiat chrysler to recall and buy back vehicles that are unsafe to drive and i get to sell my pickup back to them at trade in value which everyone in the world knows is a dealers way of screwing the owner because they turn around and list the vehicle for at least $4000 more than what they paid for the trade in.so i get sold a lemon and im glad you are starting to punish companies so that they in turn start producing quality vehicles and putting effort into their cars but they are even turning this for profit.they fix the parts and resale the car for more than they paid for it.great plan.why not use private party resale value so that we actually get what the car is worth.

In january of 2014, i received a recall notice from dodge/chrysler on my 2011 dodge ram truck, 2500 4x4.the notice said, problem: the left tie rod ball stud on your truck may fracture under certain driving conditions.this could cause a loss of directional control and/or crash without warning.2-28-14 i called smolich motors (dodge dealership in bend, oregon) and made an appointment to have it looked at.i was told they are over 300 people waiting for parts and that the replacement parts that were first sent have been recalled as inferior and they have no idea when they can replace the faulty parts on the truck.since this is a safety issue i strongly feel that chrysler/dodge is not doing what they should to fix the problem.
2500 series dodge ram pickups have serious front end problems.they are not safe straight out of the factory in my opinion.we have recently bought two 2011 ram 2500's one has less than 10,000 miles and the other 18,000, and they wobble all over the road.it is very dangerous, especially if they go into the "death wobble".

In the latter part of 2013, i received a safety recall notice for the left tie rod ball stud on my truck. Since then, i've gone back to the dealership on three separate occasions, the last visit was on july 2nd 2014, on this visit i was told that i'm next in line and will be called within a week, it's now two months since that visit. Received recall notice n49 from chrysler (nhtsa 13v-529) approximately march 18, 2014. This is in regard to a steering defect on our 2011 ram 2500hd turbo diesel truck. According to the recall notice the problem is "the left tie rod ball stud on your truck may fracture under certain driving conditions. This could cause a loss of directional control and/or crash without warning." this sounds like a serious safety issue to me. So we took it into the nearest dodge dealer on march 19, 2014. After examining the truck they said it does need the repair, but they have no parts. So they put us on a waiting list and that it would be about 30 days. It is now two months later and we are told that we are still about 30 days out on the waiting list. The recall notice says that if the dealer fails or is unable to remedy this defect without charge and within a reasonable time we may file a written complaint with the administrator of the national highway traffic safety administration. This is my formal written complaint. My dealer (tempe dodge) has failed to remedy this defect within a reasonable time. Please use all the authority of the united states government to compel chrysler corporation to expedite the repair of this dangerous condition! thank you.

Contacted local dodge dealership relating to recall notice n49 / nhtsa 13-529 in jan. 2014.today 5/8/14 i was told that it would be sept. Before the part could be replaced, if then.close to a year and possibly longer to replace a part that could cause a deathis unacceptable. I am sure that dodge has a supplier of the tie rod ball stud for the newtrucks that they are selling.perhaps they could stop production of the new truck and have the manufacture of the ball stud retool in order to get all the unsafe trucks repaired.but, i am sure that their bean counters would reject that action. $$$$$$$$

This is not what i consider a timely remedy to the safety of myself or to others on the road.
There is a major vibration in the front end as soon as you reach 50 mph. We have taken our truck to 4 different dodge dealership and none of them can find anything wrong they will either say its the tire which are brand new less than 100 miles one them or they say it needs aligned which we've had done at least 3 times and nothing has fixed this problem. We had recall work done in may and was told it would fix the problem but it has not changed anything it seems to be getting worse. You can see the hood of the truck vibrating and also really feel it in the steering as well as the shifter it is a manual 6 speed.

Vehicle went into the "dodge death wobble" which almost caused a crash as the vehicle was hard to control. We were north of amarillo tx when it first happened. It did it at least 11 more times as we drove to oklahoma city. We kept driving slower and slower as the "dodge death wobble" would not stop until we got the speed down to 30 mph. It happened again 3 times on 8/12/13 as i drove from jones, ok to the dealer in guthrie ok. I do have video's of the last 2 "dodge death wobbles". The dealer is telling me they fixed the vehicle by putting in one bolt that was missing. I feel this vehicle is not safe to drive. I'd rather not ever get it back, but if i do, i feel all the parts in the front end should be replaced because of the trauma all the parts went through during at least 15 events of the "dodge death wobble". You'd have to be in the vehicle to realize how violent the shaking is when it does the "dodge death wobble".

What is a reasonable time for a manufacturer to complete a safety recall.i received the n49 / nhtsa 13v-529 recall in december of 2013, called jan 6th and made appointment for feb 4th.at time of appointment i was told no parts were available. Update on sept 30th 2014, i am currently number 92 on the list to get the recall parts.they say they can get 4-6 parts a week, which means my parts won't be available for more than 4 months.if this is truly an 'important' safety recall it should not take more than a year to get the parts replaced.

Truck shut off while driving. Couldn't steer, couldn't turn, could barely stop. I was in the middle of a rotary with my 7 month old daughter in the car. Most likely the tipm was the cause because it started right up afterwards. No signs or warnings occurred before issue happened.
Recall was sent december to start effective january the 6th and i still have not gotten the dealership to fix problem. Problem:(the left tie rod stud on your truck may fracture under certain driving conditions. This could cause a loss of directional control and/or crash without warning.) truck was purchased at gulfgate dodge in houston. The technician is someone by the name of gary. When i called to check to see why they had not called me in to repair the problem i was told they would call me when part came in. I still have not heard anything. May is around the corner this is not good. People die from recalls everyday i would not like to be added to the list, but i have informed my family of the problem. Please help speed up process any way you can. I should be able to drive my truck and pull my horses without fear of dying.the consumer stated the vehicle would pull to the left, and it felt as though the steering was locking up. Updated 05/05/14

Was pulling hard to the left, could not hardly steer back to the right almost causing an accident.

January 21, 2014- received recall notice n49. (left tie rod ball stud failure). Contacted a local texasdodge dealer and was placed on the appointment list, parts ordered. Dealer said that i would be contacted when the part arrived. (seen the recall notice updates that stated it would be april before parts were available).03/22/14 - was backing out of parking spot and left tie rod ball stud busted, tire twisted sideways. The scary part- just 45-50 miles earlier, same tank of gas, i had been pulling my fifth wheel trailer down the highway in texas. I am shaking thinking about what could have happened on the thruway if it had busted just a few miles earlier or if i had a few miles further to drive!

I have a 2011 dodge ram 2500 hd with 27,000 miles. This truck was bought new from the dealer. This truck now has a severe problem with steering. When driving at highway speeds if the truck hits a bump in the road the front end will go into a very violent shaking. This is severe enough to cause loss of control of the vehicle. After a simple search of the internet i found this to be called the death wobble and appears to be a known common problem.

Please tell me why it is taking so long to get a part in a shop for a recall?i contacted 3 different dodge dealerships and they all state that they are only getting 2 parts a week for a recall.i have waited over 6 months to be called for a replacement.i am on a waiting list and each time i follow up i get told the same thing.sorry we don't have that part.if this is a recall then dodge should have these in adequate supply if they are going to issue out letters to owners asking them to do their part to make the vehicle safe.the replacement part is a left tie rod stud.

While traveling 5mph or less in reverse while turning the driver's side tie rod ball stud sheared off causing the left wheel to be without steering.this happened two days after the vehicle was at a dealer for a safety recall related to the same components.the dealer advised me my vehicle did not have the affected parts that needed replaced and said they made a torque adjustment.when the failure happened the vehicle was towed to a different dealer for repair, who stated the first dealer had likely done something improperly or inadequately during the recall inspection.

Dear sir or ma'am,i am writing you to report a severe problem that occurred to me on 3/5/16, and again on 4/9/16. I was traveling at approximately 65 mph on both occasions on washington state highways.the front end of my 2011 ram 2500 pick up began to shake violently. It was so intense that i was afraid that i might lose control of the vehicle. I slowed down and pulled to the side of the road and the problem stopped. After i got back on the road i traveled about a mile, and the problem occurred again. My wife brought the truck into a repair shop on 3/7/16 to see if there was a problem with the tires or suspension. The shop said the tires were balanced and that they did not find any obvious problem with the suspension.after a quick internet search i discovered a number of people describing the exact problem that i had experienced. They referred to it as the 'dodge death wobble' much to my surprise, this does not seem to be an isolated incident. It seems to be caused by the steering design ('y' type vs. 't' type?)i am hoping that you will initiate an investigation into this problem and ultimately mandate that fca us llc (dodge) issue a recall for all vehiclesaffected by this design flaw before someone gets hurt. I contacted dodge corporate hq and i have attached their response.
While driving at 65 miles per hour, and crossing a bridge expansion joint, truck began shaking violently.shaking did not stop until i was able to reduce the speed below 45mph.similar incidents continue tooccurevery time i drive the truck.this could easily lead to a serious accident.
At highway speeds of 65-70 truck started to shake very bad were i almost lost control slowed down and stopped check all tire and started going again and as soon as i hit 65mph it happened again till i slowed down to 30mph i once again stopped check tiresall good this is a common thing with the dodge ram from doing a search of the internet on what other dodge ram owners are calling the death wobble and to this date dodge says nothing is wrong this problem needs to be looked in to and either make dodge do a recall to fix there problem before someone gets killed or injured because of this.

Almost seven months run-around since recall n49/nhtsa13v-529. Is there any relief in sight? chrysler contacted, multiple dealers contacted. One wasted trip (lost workday) to a dealer scheduled appointment, only to be informed that they used their last part the day before.

Received the n49 / nhtsa 13v-529 left tie rod recall notice, made an appointment to get it replaced on 1/10/14 4 days after the start of the recall. Took the truck in to deery brothers iowa city to get the recall completed. Instead of doing the recall they simply looked under the truck and verified it was one that needed the recall, and would put me on the list to have it done. Stated they would contact me when parts come in.this was over 6 months ago and every time i talk to them they say they are replacing parts as fast as they come in. I just received a second letter from chrysler today stating this is an important safety recall and should be done as soon as possible. I called deery brothers again this morning and got the same response that they only get 2-3 sets of parts at a time and will let me know when mine are available. They stated they have people on the list that have been there quite a while longer than me. Which seems funny as i went in 4 days after the recall started. I did call the chrysler group recall assistance center listed on the recall and got the same runaround.i feel i am driving a ticking time bomb, they were unable to answer my question about who would be responsible if this breaks going down the road and causes an accident. I do not use my truck as a car, usually i am carrying a heavy load in the truck and/or pulling a trailer. I'm just concerned about the collateral damage that could occur in such a case.i realize they have a lot of units on the road to refit but, i think they need to step up and get these done. One friend of mine had his break on him 300 miles from home, just after pulling off interstate. Hate to think if it had broke a few mile earlier. I hate to drive my truck right now but, cannot be without it for what appears could be a full year.please look into the handling of this by chrysler.

My dodge ram 2500 from 2011 has been recalled for a possible faulty front tie rod failure. I took the truck in on jan 7, 2014 to have it fixed. At the time they said they needed to order the part and it would take 7-10 days to get it in. Two and a half months later i received a call saying the part was in. I scheduled the truck for service on apr 16, 2014. When i took the truck in i was told that the part had been redesigned and they would order a new one. It's been three months since then and i haven't heard back from the dealership that the parts are in to repair my truck. I've been forced to use my truck for six and a half months because dodge doesn't have the parts available to fix my recalled truck which can be the cause of a major accident if the tie rod goes bad.dodge needs to be more responsive in taking care of their recalled vehicles before they cause more accidents. Help!

While traveling at speeds greater than 45mph the vehicle starts to shake violently when driving over highway expansion joints or potholes.the vehicle is completely uncontrollable and the only recourse is light pressure on the brakes until speed falls below 25mph.
I noticed a severe wobble which almost caused me to wreck in the left front after hitting a small bump in the freeway whils traveling 70 m.p.h. The wobble stopped when i slowed down.this continues to happen when i hit any kind of a bump at speeds of 70 or more. I took the vehicle to the dealer, it was there for 4 days, they said they repaired the problem, the dealer recommended i have the tires rotated and balanced, which i did and paid for it myself. The next time i drove on the freeway and hit a bump the truck went into a dangerius wobble again .. I took the truck back to the dealer, which time the mechanic rode with me and felt the wobble when i hit a bump at 70 m.p.h. The mechanic said he was going to have to take the front end apart to find the problem ,which he said would take a entire day.i left the truck,, 4 days later i was told that there was nothing wrong with the front end and it might be the tires..( the truck has 11000 miles on it) i picked the truck up and left,as i was driving home i hit a bump in the road at 70 m.p.h. And almost wrecked.. I'm lost.. Paid $50.000.00 for a death trap and no where to turn...
Tell us what happened:i noticed a severe wobble which almost caused me to wreck in the left front after hitting a small bump in the freeway whils traveling 70 m.p.h. The wobble stopped when i slowed down. This continues to happen when i hit any kind of a bump at speeds of 70 or more. The mechanic said he was going to have to take the front end apart to find the problem ,which he said would take a entire day. I left the truck,, 4 days later i was told that there was nothing wrong with the front end and it might be the tires..( the truck has 11000 miles on it) i picked the truck up and left,as i was driving home i hit a bump in the road at 70 m.p.h. And almost wrecked.. I'm lost.. Paid $50.000.00 for a death trap and no where to turn.
The contact owns a 2011 dodge ram 2500. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign id number: 13v529000 (suspension) but was advised by the dealer that the parts needed to complete the repair were not available. The manufacturer was also contacted. The contact had not experienced a failure.
The front end shakes around 60 to 65 mph.when driving, you have to slow down to 35 - 40 mph to stop the shaking.
Hit pothole on the highway and truck started to shake violently.i was unable to steer the truck.truck was literally bouncing down the highway until i slowed down to aprox. 30mph.this has happened at least 3 times in the last week.if this were to happen on a curve in the road i would be dead.
While in reverse and turning left, the left tie rod end snapped at the ball joint. It appears to be a geometry problem, not all about a faulty part. Chrysler stated the part had already been replaced during recall l16, but it has not fixed the problem. Customer service stated they will only replace the part once under the recall.
The contact owns a 2011 ram 2500. The contact received a recall repair for nhtsa campaign number: 13v529000 (steering), but the remedy did not provide a solution. The contact stated that there was an extensive wobble in the front of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer a second time where it was indicated that the parts needed to be replaced again. The dealer replaced the front tie rods, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was unable to be driven over 45 mph. The vehicle continued to wobble in the front, which was extremely unsafe while driving at highway speeds. The manufacturer was notified of the failure each time and provided no solution to the dealer to address the repair. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer for further inspection. The approximate failure mileage was 20,000.
While driving at 65 miles per hour, and crossing a bridge expansion joint, truck began shaking violently.shaking did not stop until i was able to reduce the speed below 45mph.similar incidents continue tooccurevery time i drive the truck.this could easily lead to a serious accident.
I was driving my truck on the interstate at about 65 mph and hit a bump in the road.my truck went all over the interstate almost throwing me into the ditch.i thought i had a flat tire but i didn't.i continued down the interstate and nothing happened.a week later it happened again on the interstate.i was told by a truck company that i was experiencing the death wobble.i called the dodge dealership and they said they knew nothing about the death wobble.i cant drive my new truck on the interstate fearing for my safety and others i may hurt.
Death wobble - i was driving in heavy traffic on a 4 lane highway.i drove over a bridge expansion joint and suddenly the truck began shaking violently.i could not steer. I could not brake.we nearly collided with a highway divider and other vehicles.i had to coast down to 30 mph or so when it resolved itself.
The contact owns a 2011 dodge ram 2500. The contact received nhtsa campaign number: 13v529000 (steering). The details of the failure were not available. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the driver side tie rod needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 81,000. The vin was not available.
I was backing out of my parents driveway and turned the wheel to the left and the ball joint broke in half.
While driving either pulling our 30ft 5th wheel or while not towing, hit rough spot in road truck shakes violently and is hard to control even braking!has been serviced in may 2016 and changed torquestions bar. Same scenario has continued for 3 months only more often. Supposedly was fixed before 2 1/2 months trip to ak, bc & yt.back again for same scenario as it occurs more often!truck is always in motion and between 45 & 65mph when this occurs both country roads and freeway/highway!this is a serious uncontrollable scenario that could cause accident for driver and other cars on the road when this happens.eugene, or
I have a 2011 dodge ram 2500 hd with 27,000 miles.
I was driving on i-10 going west by blthe, ca i went over a bridge and ran over the joint between the bridge and the road the truck went into a speed wobble it didn't stop until i got on the brakes hard down to 40 mph i have had it happen several times more always at bridges or rough spots on the road.
Truck has the n49 recall, took it to dealer in feb 2014, wanted to do a front end alignment. Told him it was a recall. Order part (waited, waited) call back was 30th on list. Then told me they do one a week. Called back in 3 weeks, still 30th on list.on june 26 the truck started to shake, lost control and went in ditch, pushing the front in. Chrysler said there was no indication of manufacturing defect after they conducted an investigation.
Truck circulating dirt road after 25 miles constant. The billet shock tower, left deformed material fatigue. Deforming the chassis support area, and the shock is destroyed. Generating a wobble uncontrollably, cutting rods. Both wheels being uncontrolled. The upper coil support, shows a clear in its zone fatigue. This same fault happened at 3500 miles, and chrysler dealer in chile, just change the bars tracks.
The contact owns a 2011 ram 2500. While driving approximately 10 mph, the contact heard a pop sound from the front end of the vehicle. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The contact exited the vehicle and noticed that the front driver side tie rod was fractured. The vehicle was towed to the dealer. The vehicle was repaired per a manufacturer's recall. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact also stated that the vehicle was repaired last year per the manufacturer's (n49) recall. The approximate failure mileage was 174,650.
The contact owns a 2011 ram 2500. While driving approximately 65 mph, the vehicle drove over a bump and the steering wheel shook violently. The vehicle vibrated and caused the vehicle to become very unstable. After reducing the speed to 30 mph, the vehicle drove normally. The failure occurred on two other occasions. The cause of the failure was not diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 110,000.
The contact owns a 2011 dodge ram 2500. The contact stated that while driving 72 mph, the vehicle started to shake violently without warning. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the technician diagnosed that the track bar was defective and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 74,000. Updated 06/10/14 maalso, there was a problem with the front differential, track bar and rubber bushing. Updated 07/01/14
In january 2014 i received mail for an important safety recall n49 / nhtsa 13v-529 for my 2011 ram 2500 mega cab 4x4 laramie.the safety recall is from chrysler for a defect on left tie rod ball stud may fracture under certain driving conditions causing loss of directional control and / or crash without warning.in light of all the gm and toyota deadly incidents with multitudes of recalls and fraud my issue has not been resolved by my local dealership genes chrysler fairbanks ak, contacting chrysler inquiring about my parts taking extremely long to manufacture per my dealership, and i also contacted by telephone, the administrator, national highway traffic safety administration, washington dc vehicle hotline and still nothing has been done.i was the 1st to make an appointment back in january 2014 then got the runaround ever since and repeated calls to the service workers, manager and owner of genes chrysler my dealership.worse yet i just receive yet another mail notice about the same recall and still waiting.i emailed by dealership informing them that my family and i were taking a vacation driving on the richardson highway to valdez ak which are the worst roughest roads in ak and that if we were to be involved in an accident caused by this unresolved safety defect that my children and family would sue and blow this out on the media.please help us i drive 55 miles round trip daily to work and i am the one risking my life!
Death wobble at highway speeds2 recalls for tie rods have been peformed.this problem is continuing, most recently on 4/24/2016.
The truck experienced the dodge death wobble and i have spoke with chrysler and they are not working to correct an issue with their product that has been know about since 1994 and has had many recalls for this issue needs to be resolved before people get hurt or killed from the vehicle losing control and cause traffic accidents. The vehicle shakes uncontrollably and has even ripped the steering wheel from my hands while driving and had to come to almost a complete stop before it would quit.
It is sad.
The contact owns a 2011 ram 2500. While driving approximately 65 mph, the contact drove over a bump and the steering wheel shook violently. The vehicle vibrated and became very unstable. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the stabilization bar failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vin was unknown. The approximate failure mileage was 73,000.
The contact owns a 2011 dodge ram 2500. While driving approximately 50 mph over a bump in the road, the front end wobbled uncontrollably. The vehicle traveled in and out of a ditch to a complete stop. The vehicle was restarted and resumed normal operation. The vehicle was driven to an independent mechanic who stated that the steering bolt joints and stabilizing bar needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 37,000.updated 6/25/15
Tl * the contact owns a 2011 dodge ram 2500.while driving at an unknown speed, the steel cable failed that secured the spare tire underneath the vehicle.the failure caused the spare tire to separate from the vehicle.the vehicle was not repaired and the manufacturer was notified.the failure mileage was 54,000.
Check engine light has come on several times with codes p241a and p2196. I have replaced the o2 sensor 3 times within one year. I have been told that this is a common issue and have been told that it is the wring harness.
Integrated trailer brake system failed and will not read any trailer when connected. States 'trailer disconnected'
I was traveling south on grand ave in glendale arizona when i came on to a turn my vehicle turned off on me i lost steering and brakes vehicle drifted into another lane luckily no one was next to me when it happens i had to put the vehicle in neutral and tried to start the truck 4 times before the vehicle turned back on, later that day same thing happened again on freeway i-10 and 75th ave heading west.
My wife and i were hauling our 5th wheel from alabama to georgia and had been on several steep grades with no problems. Before our trip ended the "no trailer brake" indicator showed up on the evic. We had the 5th wheel brakes and electrical components examined by a trailer dealer and no problems where found with it.however, i checked, as did the trailer dealer, my 7 prong connection on the truck and it shows that there is no voltage going to the 5th wheel from the integrated trailer brake controller. When i take it to the dodge dealer for service, of course, they tell me the problem is with the 5th wheel not the truck. This problem is a very bad accident waiting to happen!!had the trailer brake controller stopped working on one of the steep grades i had just travelled, i might not be here to complain. I since have read numerous complaints from others on a couple of online forums. Chrysler needs to admit they have a serious problem with their integrated trailer brake controller.
The truck experienced the dodge death wobble and i have spoke with chrysler and they are not working to correct an issue with their product that has been know about since 1994 and has had many recalls for this issue needs to be resolved before people get hurt or killed from the vehicle losing control and cause traffic accidents. The contact owns a 2011 dodge ram 2500. The contact engaged the brake pedal and the gear lever was shifted into reverse when the vehicle began to lunge forward independently.the failure recurred in cold weather temperatures. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer eight times for the same failure. The torque converter was replaced and the computer system was updated. The failure persisted after the repairs were performed. The manufacturer was notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 8,000.
The contact owns a 2011 dodge ram 2500. The contact stated that nhtsa campaign number: 14v635000 (engine and engine cooling, fuel system, diesel) exceeded a reasonable amount of time for repair. The dealer stated that parts were not available. The manufacturer was made aware of the delay. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact had not experienced a failure related to the recall, but did experience acceleration failures. The specifics of the failure were not available. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 60,000.
The contact owns a 2011 dodge ram 2500. The contact stated that the front passenger window shattered while driving 60 mph. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer to have the failure diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure and current mileage was 6,900. The vin was unavailable.
Truck was idling, just got home and the master window switch started smoking and as that happened both back windows rolled down and fire came out from window switch.
We received a recall notice in the mail around the 1st of the year for the left tie rod on our truck, we called reno dodge right away, they pushed us back a few weeks, we called multiple times since then and said they'd call us, they never did, now months later we called again, and they said it would be months before they could get us in. We are concerned that this problem could harm our family since this is our primary family vehicle.
