Car accident just occurred that yielded in the truck being totaled (with driver injury) and air bags did not deploy.it is currently at the tow yard awaiting the insurance company's visit.it has not yet been inspected.there were no messages on the dash regarding the air bags prior to this accident.
The contact owns a 2021 ram 1500. The contact stated that while his son-in-law was driving at 30 mph, another vehicle had rear ended his vehicle. The force of the collision then propelled the vehicle into the vehicle in front of him. Due to the force of the collision, his son-in-law's head hit the steering wheel which caused him to black out.the vehicle was then hit by two other vehicles on both the passenger and the driver side as the vehicle wasin the middle of an intersection. The air bags did not deploy at anytime during the collision. The contact's son- in-law was taken to hospital and treated for a fractured right side knee and ankle as well as several bruises to various parts of his body. The contact stated that an occupant in another vehicle was transported by ambulance however, injuries were unknown.a police report was filed. The vehicle was towed from the scene and impounded by the police. An insurance agent inspected the vehicle to assess the damage and an agreement was made to repair the vehicle.the manufacturer was initially notified of the failure and a complaint was filed. The contact was also informed that a case manager would contact him; however, he never received a call. Months later, the contact called back the manufacturer and was informed that since the vehicle had been repaired; no further action from the manufacturer would be taken. The dealer was also notified of the failure and they also offered no assistance. The vehicle had been repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 1,500.
While nearly completing a right turn into a private drivewaywith a speed under 3 mph andapproximate 20 degree incline i was struck by gmc terrainjust behind the right rear tire with posted speed of 40 mph on the street. Theforce of impact pushed my truck into a telephone pole next to the driveway impacting the rear door on the driver side the rear door glass shattered and landed 10 to 15 ft in the yard, the truck came to rest facing 180 degrees the opposite direction of travel in the center of a four lane street, the suv that stuck me continued approximately 330 ft. Across 3 lanes coming to rest in a yard. No airbags deployed nor seat belt tensioning was apparent, driver weight 185lbs passenger approximately 150 lbs. The driver received back and neck injury while the passenger suffered several from striking head on passenger window more than once and side against center console due to no deployment . Policed report states the suv airbags deployed.no skid mark on pavement were apparent from the suv. My vehiclehad no known issues, body repair shop checked computerand it showedno faults in system prior to accident

The contact stated that the failure was due to the led light in the rear of the vehicle was too dim to assist with providing a clear visual of the rear of the vehicle through the camera for rearview purposes. Breeden dodge chrysler jeep ram(5900 highway 71 s, fort smith, ar 72908; (479) 646-4731) was contacted and stated that the vehicle needed additional led lights to fix the failure. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure by the manager at the dealer. The approximate failure mileage 26,000.*ln
The truck previously shut off twice during a left and then a right turn. That was around 120 and 200 miles on the truck, respectively. Only other issue was during a turn the radio changed channel autonomously. Today with 1700 mile i backed it up and then put it in drive. The truck shut off and kicked every fault code on the truck. When trying to start it back it would not turnover and kept turning things on and off like the electrical system was possessed.
Driving vehicle about 2 mph, taking a right turn - vehicle stalled out and emergency brake light came on.was able to restart pts ignition without issue, then drive again.truck has 600+ miles current. Found other ram owners on 5thgenrams.com forums stating they are experiencing same issue, so i am concerned.this happened once, but others are saying it has happened multiple times to them.
On two separate occasions while within 5 minutes of starting the truck while moving forward on a city street both times it initiated on a turn the truck turns off and tells you put the vehicle in park to restart. The emergency brake is also illuminated. The truck has less then 200 miles on it.
This model is equipped with automatic side steps.the steps deploy when they want and most of the time they do not deploy.they also when deployed and after exiting the vehicle and locking it sometimes will not stow back under the vehicle.they also will remain deployed when you enter the vehicle and will stow when you reach the safety speed of approximately 5mph before stowing.i noticed this problem within a week of purchasing the vehicle and as of this date (4/13/21) have had the vehicle at the dealership (hill kelly ram, pensacola, fl) six times to repair the problem.i have videoed the problem and they have been able to reproduce the problem.they have replaced door latches, door modules and controllers with no fix found yet.they have scheduled an appointment with the district engineer to try and troubleshoot the problem.i have been told that they have a known problem with the automatic steps.the only temporary fix we have found is if the steps do not deploy to close the door and then immediately open it, then the steps will deploy.this problem is affecting both the driver and passenger side.it doesn't matter if it is the front or rear door that is opened.it will also give a warning of the side steps obstructed on the drivers dash display.
Engine stalled at 10 to 15 mphand the transmission shifted to park automatically. All games, cluster and dash controls were out, no power. This happened with a 8000 lb travel trailer attached.
I parked my truck, shut off the engine, and exited and went inside. I was walking my dog several minutes later and seemed to notice my truck moving backwards. I saw the fresh tracks in the snow in front of my truck and realized that it was rolling backward on my driveway. I got in, pressed the brakes to stop the rolling and tried cycling the power. My keys were inside so i rushed in to get them and then back to the truck. It started without changing the shift selector knob, so it had definitely been requested to engage park.
Vehicle turned off and had to be restarted as i was switching from break to gas after stopping at a stop sign. I had to restart the vehicle in the middle of the intersection. Radio and all instrument lights remained on. No error lights came on. This has happened on 4 separate days , weeks apart at different locations and under different weather conditions.
While driving at any speed the engine will shut off an i will lose all communication to the 2 key fobs. After the vehicle stops it will engage the parking break and will not restart. I have had the vehicle towed 3 times for this issue and all three times were on a busy dangerous road. Local police had to come and stop traffic for a safe tow hook. Also makes it very difficult to exit heavy traffic on the highway with no ability to control the speed of the vehicle. Dealer has claimed to fix it 3 times, but all 3 times have failed. Dealer has test drove the vehicle and can reproduce the problem. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? engine/electrical system, yes it is available for inspection. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? engine stalls without warning at any speed. Lose or power steering, breaks and engine power makes it extremely dangerous to merge at highway speeds or on narrow busy intersections.has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? yes confirmed and reproduced by a dealer. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? no, not yet. Only by a dealer were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? no warnings prior to incidents
Have had my truck for only two weeks.the backup camera did not work with message saying ā€backup camera not availableā€¯ and at same time electronic throttle control showed ā€service electronic controlā€¯. I shut the vehicle off and waited @ 1 min and stil showed same. Did restart again, same results.then drove to restaurant and when i returned to vehicle @ 1-1/2 hour later both messages were gone. Backup camera now working and throttle message is gone.
On may 18th, 2021 my 2021 ram 1500 limited shut itself off while pulling out of my neighborhood.the emergency brake activated itself, and there were no error codes.i took to the dealership, and they could not replicate the issue and stated they found no problems.today, on 7/31/21, it did the exact same thing, except this time i almost got hit by another vehicle.i have filed a second complaint with fca, but this is definitely a serious safety issue.
Truck stalled during slow speed right hand turn. When i attempted to hit the gas coming out if the turn it stalled. Display says to put in park. Emergency auto brake engaged when moving transmission into neutral to restart.

Backed out of garage, rolled down driveway and turned left onto my street. Drove about a tenth of a mile to the stop sign, pretty easy with light gas since truck was still warming up. Rolled slowly (2-3) mph to make a right turn lightly feathering the gas and 3/4 through the turn pressed a little more on the gas and truck died. Just before it came to a stop, the parking brake engaged and a message on screen said to place vehicle in park. Engine started back up after i came to a stop and put it in park. No codes or other messages displayed. If i was pulling on to a busy street there would have been a very high chance that i would have been hit. 2021 ram 1500 hemi etorque with 800 miles on it.
Driving at 35 mph the engine just died and the truck engage the auto shift parking creating a dangerous condition. Second time in about 3 days. This is driving me nuts.

Online forums dedicated to the 2021 dodge ram 1500 would indicate that my experience(s) are not isolated.
I was turning right, going less than 5 mph when the truck stopped abruptly in the middle of the lane. A message came on the dash telling me to switch the shifter to park. The emergency brake was engaged automatically. I had only applied minimal accelerator and didn't have my foot on the brake. After a few seconds, i was able to disengage the parking brake and continue on my way. This was very dangerous as there were people behind me that may not have noticed my abrupt stop after turning. This puts the safety of myself and my children at risk.
2021 long horn 5.7l hemi e-torque with 8800 miles - stalled 3 times at low speeds all 3 times have been a really slow speeds, almost coasting at a turn or a light and then realizing that the engine stalled. The 2nd time was in middle of an intersection. I was able to get it through the intersection and put into neutral and restart. The 3rd stall was immediately after at a red light. The auto park engaged at about 2-3 mph right when the light turned green and i almost got hit from behind before i could restart and get off the road. I've had my kids in the truck for two of these stalls and its a matter of time before this causes an accident. I made an appt at my dealer today, they looked at me with a blank stare like they have never heard of this issue. Also showing no more concern than if i was asking for a tire rotation. I'm sure i'll have to start at the beginning like many of you have documented. Frustrating that there is still no guidance to the dealers on this.
Making a right hand turn into school parking lot at 7:11 am this morning the engine died, steering went stiff and emergence parking break set. Almost caused a very serious accident with injury's to multiple minors. Was moving 11 mph with my foot on the brake into the right turn, when i let off the brake the engine died. The cluster screen told me to place the vehicle into park and release the emergency brake.
I purchased my 2021 ram 1500 limited night edition on march 11, 2021. It was new. Within 3 weeks and less than 1,000 miles of driving the vehicle stalled twice while in the middle of an intersection. The fuel tank was full and the engine was warm each time.the first time around march 17 i was alone in the car. I stopped at a stop sign and then depressed the gas pedal and as i turned to the right the car stalled. No error message came up. I stopped the car. Turned the gear shift knob to p and pressed the start/stop button twice and the truck started back up.10 days later with my family in the car the same thing happened. I was at a stop sign, then pressed on the gas and made a left turn this time and the car stalled. Again, fortunately no one was coming because my family and i could have been seriously injured or killed because we were in the middle of the road and someone could have t-boned us.the car has been with the dealer for a week and they tell me they have not been able to discover anything. There were no error messages and they have not reproduced the problem.i am writing to put this on the record in case anything happens to us.

Had to pull over to put the truck in park and attempt to restart, took several tries.
While driving, the engine shuts off and a message displays that the vehicle needs a on/off power cycle to continue. I believe the failure was caused by a loose ground wire or controler that went offline and needs a power cycle to bring all controllers back online. Safety is a concern due to the engine shutting off and needing to coast the vehicle to a safe spot if it will reach one. The engine turning off and requiring a restart had happened 4 times in the 3 days of owning since new. The vehicle is still at the dealership awaiting parts needed to diagnose the problem. The only warning message was after the engine turned off and requires a power cycle to continue.
Ram 1500 eco diesel remains on after it was turned off. Has happened several times over the week to where we are scared to park in our driveway and garage. We don't have another vehicle right now since that is in the shop so we have no voiced but to take the risk and used it. Sensors come on when there is no object in site and truck breaks automatically where its causing a safety issue. I have video but i can't upload it since the system only takes pictures.

The vehicle was taken to stoneridge chrysler jeep dodge (2700 stoneridge dr, pleasanton, ca 94588, (925) 587-9161) where it was test driven however, the technician was unable to duplicate the issue. The vehicle was not diagnosed. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer and test driven in front of the technician and the failure occurred. The technician informed the contact that the vehicle operated as intended and she should contact fca for assistance. The contact was informed that the feature could be disengaged. I have had 2 safety issues with my 2021 ram 1500 laramie with approx. 4,500 miles on it. 1st , and most important, i have had the engine stall when accelerating from a stop onto a roadway. It has occurred between 5-25 mph approx while pulling from a stop, or slow roll,into traffic. The second occurrence was on 4/13/2021, unsure of the first date. The vehicles engine completely shuts down, i receive a message to apply my foot to the break, shift to park, and that the emergency break is auto applied once at a full stop. Thankfully i maintain electrical power so i can steer to the side of the road but the engine is completely without power and both times i have had traffic approaching from behind me. The 2nd issue, which is minor compared to a stalling engine, is that the backup camera periodically stops working. It either goes completely black (although the magnifying glass remains on the screen) or it gets a very poor quality image with lots of colored lines through the picture. This makes it much harder to maneuver a big truck when you have no view behind you from the camera.again minor relative to the stalling , which is my major concern,but after i took my truck in for the camera issue there is currently no fix and they are awaiting a software update. It is now back to the dealer for a second time in 4,500 miles most importantly to address the stalling and was brought in immediately after it occurred. I have also since had a clicking noise start in the steering column. I am not sure if this is just an annoyance or another issue. All items are reported to the dealer and their 800 number for which they have created cases.
Have had truck 2 times stall while driving. Will completely shut down while driving 15-20 mph after breaking then letting off the break pedal shuts down - the parking break will engage itself and the truck will go into park. To restart i have too disengage parking break manually. The incident happened june 23rd with 3500 miles then recently at 8k.
Pulled out into traffic severe lack of acceleration almost cause me to get hit in the driver side door. Got online and noticed a lot of people complaining about a pedal lag. This is dangerous and needs to be addressed. This is a 2021 ram with 283 miles on it again this is a dangerous issue

Was making a left had turn from a stop sign and my truck just shut off.i was going roughly 5 mph or less when this happened.i was able to coast for a second until the emergency brakes came on for some reason while the truck was still in drive.the only thing that came up on the dash was something along the lines of ā€put the vehicle in park and apply the brake to turn off parking brake and to start the vehicleā€¯. The radio and all electrical related stuff seemed to have stayed on. This is the first time this has happened sincei bought the truck and i only have roughly 700 miles on it.
I got to a stop and the e-torque kicked in, as i departure from a complete stop the truck stalled as i entered the intersection to a complete stop, dash advised to put the vehicle in the park position before starting it, after a few minutes i was able to restart the truck and put it in drive to drive away. Huge safety hazard and life threatening since i was on my way to take my daughter to school when this happened.

Driving on city streets at low speed, the engine has stalled 3 times from april to july 2021. All 3 times occurred within 5-10 minutes of starting the vehicle. Approaching an intersection, then slowly making a turn (once turning left, twice turning right) and attempting to accelerate.as the accelerator is pressed, itā€™s as if no signal is sent to the engine, then the engine stalls. The info screen on the dash instantly says to press the engine start button, but when pressing, it then says to put the vehicle in park. The truck is brought to a stop in the street, then the truck automatically sets the parking brake (auto parking brake is deactivated in settings). The truck is then shifted into park, engine restarted and parking brake released. Each time this has happened has been at speeds less than 5mph. The vehicle has less than 5,000 miles. No warning lights prior to engine stalling, none showing after. All electronics in the vehicle continue to work properly as the engine stalls.
Purchased truck on 3/4/2021.with 21 miles on the odometer. On 3/11/2021 was driving on the freeway doing 65mph. In the center of a 3 lane highway when the engine shut off without warning and a dash signaled a warning "service electronic throttle control" appeared on the dash, i made it off the freeway without incident and was eventually able to restart the truck and took it back to the dealer who as of today 4/06/2021 not found the issue that caused the engine to shut down, and has not duplicated the issue after driving it more than 700 miles. They were instructed to replace parts without properly diagnosing the problem by the technical advisor for chrysler star division who has been advising the dealership master service technician on what to inspect and test without any ability to duplicate the problem. Additional information was recorded on the truck to try and identify any possible cause of failure without success. Dealership service department has kept records and fault codes, and i have every reason to believe this issue is not resolved and that it will happen again, without warning, and possibly at the risk of endangering the lives of all vehicle occupants as well as others outside of the vehicle. I have documentation but the files are unable to be uploaded due to their file size. Copies can be made available upon request.

I started the truck and drove about a 1/4 mile in my neighborhood.i never got over 20 mph.i approached a red stop light to turn right.i stopped at the light to check for traffic.i then proceeded to turn right and 1/2 way through the turn the truck shut off without warning and it automatically applied the emergency brake.luckily there were no cars coming in the right hand lane else we could have been hit.i am taking it to the dealership tomorrow for inspection.the info screen notified me that the emergency brake had been applied and that the transmission had been autoset to park.it said to apply the brake to start the truck (it has push button start).i did so and the truck started.i disengaged the emergency brake and the truck then drove normally the rest of the trip.
Vehicle turned off and had to be restarted as i was switching from break to gas after stopping at a stop sign. I had to restart the vehicle in the middle of the intersection. Radio and all instrument lights remained on. No error lights came on. This has happened on 4 separate days , weeks apart at different locations and under different weather conditions.

I've read about a number of consumers having the same issue with the etorque hemi engines. To answer the above questions: - not sure what system failed but the vehicle is available for inspection upon request.- the safety of myself & family are put at risk anytime the stalling occurs, especially when turning on to a road with oncoming traffic as the truck could potentially shut off again automatically.- the issue has yet to be confirmed by a dealer. I take the vehicle in on 8/1/2021 to be diagnosed.- the vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police or insurance representative as of yet. - no prior warning lamps, messages or other symptoms aside from stalling at different times. This issue has been ongoing for a few months now. The vehicle completely shut off once roughly last week sometime.
2021 long horn 5.7l hemi e-torque with 8800 miles - stalled 3 times at low speeds all 3 times have been a really slow speeds, almost coasting at a turn or a light and then realizing that the engine stalled. The 2nd time was in middle of an intersection. I was able to get it through the intersection and put into neutral and restart. The 3rd stall was immediately after at a red light. The auto park engaged at about 2-3 mph right when the light turned green and i almost got hit from behind before i could restart and get off the road. I've had my kids in the truck for two of these stalls and its a matter of time before this causes an accident. I made an appt at my dealer today, they looked at me with a blank stare like they have never heard of this issue. Also showing no more concern than if i was asking for a tire rotation. I'm sure i'll have to start at the beginning like many of you have documented. Frustrating that there is still no guidance to the dealers on this.

The contact owns a 2021 ram 1500. The contact stated that the backup camera only showed a red blur while in reverse. The contact stated that the failure was only experienced at night. The contact stated that the failure was due to the led light in the rear of the vehicle was too dim to assist with providing a clear visual of the rear of the vehicle through the camera for rearview purposes. Breeden dodge chrysler jeep ram(5900 highway 71 s, fort smith, ar 72908; (479) 646-4731) was contacted and stated that the vehicle needed additional led lights to fix the failure. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure by the manager at the dealer. The approximate failure mileage 26,000.*ln

The truck previously shut off twice during a left and then a right turn. That was around 120 and 200 miles on the truck, respectively. Only other issue was during a turn the radio changed channel autonomously. Today with 1700 mile i backed it up and then put it in drive. The truck shut off and kicked every fault code on the truck. When trying to start it back it would not turnover and kept turning things on and off like the electrical system was possessed.

Making a right hand turn into school parking lot at 7:11 am this morning the engine died, steering went stiff and emergence parking break set. Almost caused a very serious accident with injury's to multiple minors. Was moving 11 mph with my foot on the brake into the right turn, when i let off the brake the engine died. The cluster screen told me to place the vehicle into park and release the emergency brake.
Purchased truck on 3/4/2021.with 21 miles on the odometer. On 3/11/2021 was driving on the freeway doing 65mph. In the center of a 3 lane highway when the engine shut off without warning and a dash signaled a warning "service electronic throttle control" appeared on the dash, i made it off the freeway without incident and was eventually able to restart the truck and took it back to the dealer who as of today 4/06/2021 not found the issue that caused the engine to shut down, and has not duplicated the issue after driving it more than 700 miles. They were instructed to replace parts without properly diagnosing the problem by the technical advisor for chrysler star division who has been advising the dealership master service technician on what to inspect and test without any ability to duplicate the problem. Additional information was recorded on the truck to try and identify any possible cause of failure without success. Dealership service department has kept records and fault codes, and i have every reason to believe this issue is not resolved and that it will happen again, without warning, and possibly at the risk of endangering the lives of all vehicle occupants as well as others outside of the vehicle. I have documentation but the files are unable to be uploaded due to their file size. Copies can be made available upon request.

Estimated fuel economy on sticker states 17/21 respectively city/highway. After 2700 miles, i consistently, and always have gotten 13mpg city and on highway, road trip, 14.5mpg.

I received my ordered vehicle recently and almost hit a car changing lanes because my right side mirror blind side monitor didn't light up.it wasn't until i spoke with my dealer that i found out stelantis has removed the blind side monitoring from 2021 vehicles while still advertising they are available on all 2021 models.this is now a normal safety feature in most all vehicles sold for obvious reasons.many people cannot twist around and take their eyes off the road ahead of them.stelantis needs to install these in a recall.
Was driving down the road when the truck stalled and prompted me to put it into park to start. It then automatically went to park without me doing anything and applied the parking brake on its own.
I turned left from the center lane into the driveway of my bank.after crossing the driveway apron, the truck engine died leaving me rolling through the parking lot.the vehicle sounded an alarm stating that it needed to be placed into park to start the engine.the engine restarted after i came to a stop, placed the vehicle in park and pressed the ignition button.this failure could have happened at any time leaving me stranded in traffic, potentially at high speed where it could have caused a severe accident injuring myself or others around me.the vehicle has not been inspected yet by the dealer but will be when it's brought in for the pending recall related to the backup camera.i did inspect the power distribution module under the hood when i returned home and found that several of the relays were not fully seated in their sockets, with some of the relays physically tilted to the side.i then proceeded to properly seat all the relays.i also found that at least 75% of the fuses in the module were not fully seated in their sockets.there are numerous reports online of others that have experienced these same failures.

On two separate occasions while within 5 minutes of starting the truck while moving forward on a city street both times it initiated on a turn the truck turns off and tells you put the vehicle in park to restart. The emergency brake is also illuminated. The truck has less then 200 miles on it.

Trailer brake controller failed while towing a new camper. I was getting a "trailer brake disconnected"and"check trailer brake wiring" message while towing. The issue was intermittent and unpredictable as to when the failure would occur. I almost wrecked, because of this issue. This is very dangerous, puts my safety and others at tremendous risk of the trailer and tow vehicle not being able to stop or cause sway. The trailer brake controller has been inspected before by prestige ram in colorado. I had brought the vehicle in on 5/25/2021 to a the ram dealership to service a different issue, the back up camera not working. They ordered a new trailer brake control module to fix that issue. The dealership service advisor said this is because the camera wiring runs through the trailer brake control module. On june 7th,i called the service advisor about the trailer brake malfunctioning and was told that it's related to the same issue as the back up camera not working. And, replacing the brake controller when it arrives, will fix the trailer brake disconnect issue as well. As of today(6/18/2021) i am still awaiting for this part to be provided by the manufacturer and the repair to be completed.

The vehicle was not diagnosed. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer and test driven in front of the technician and the failure occurred. The technician informed the contact that the vehicle operated as intended and she should contact fca for assistance. The contact was informed that the feature could be disengaged. Driving down the highway and steering just got real stiff then warning light came saying i lost power steering and it needs service.i only have 6600 miles on it and i could of got in an accident.
At 10221 mileage totally lost the steering and at that time indicator displays "power steering unavailable, service required". Lost control of vehicle. Stopped and re-started engine and indicator was off and steering returned for right hand turns.. Very difficult to turn left. At 10246 miles lost steering again and same display indicator came on. Dealer was very helpful. Steering returned after service and lost steering again at at 10,396 miles. Presently the vehicle will turn right easily and very difficult to turn left or to go straight it take extreme pressure on the steering wheel. Very uncomfortable to drive.
After 72 miles on a new truck.power steering went out, while driving and never worked again.dealer said electric power steering module shorted out.whole rack & pinion will have to be replaced but not available.
This model is equipped with automatic side steps.the steps deploy when they want and most of the time they do not deploy.they also when deployed and after exiting the vehicle and locking it sometimes will not stow back under the vehicle.they also will remain deployed when you enter the vehicle and will stow when you reach the safety speed of approximately 5mph before stowing.i noticed this problem within a week of purchasing the vehicle and as of this date (4/13/21) have had the vehicle at the dealership (hill kelly ram, pensacola, fl) six times to repair the problem.i have videoed the problem and they have been able to reproduce the problem.they have replaced door latches, door modules and controllers with no fix found yet.they have scheduled an appointment with the district engineer to try and troubleshoot the problem.i have been told that they have a known problem with the automatic steps.the only temporary fix we have found is if the steps do not deploy to close the door and then immediately open it, then the steps will deploy.this problem is affecting both the driver and passenger side.it doesn't matter if it is the front or rear door that is opened.it will also give a warning of the side steps obstructed on the drivers dash display.
While driving on interstate at approx 70 mph...i heard and felt what seemed like an explosion. At first i thought a tire blew out, but within seconds i could hear wind noise coming from my sunroof (the fabric shade was closed). I could then hear what sounded like pieces of glass blowing around on top of the fabric. Once i found a safe place to stop, i was shocked to see that the glass pane of my sunroof was shattered. There was no vehicle within 100 yds in front of me and i didnā€™t pass under any bridges, etc. The glass simply exploded. I am thankful that the shade was closed otherwise i would have been showered with glass. The noise was so startling that at first i thought someone had fired a shotgun...it was that loud...loud enough to be a deadly distraction at highway speeds. The dealer claims that they have never heard of this happening, but my research today is contrary to that claim (https://www.consumerreports.org/car-safety/exploding-sunroofs-danger-overhead). The vehicle is at the dealership now. The rep has told me that he has no idea how chrysler/ram will handle this situation.
Pulled out into traffic severe lack of acceleration almost cause me to get hit in the driver side door. Got online and noticed a lot of people complaining about a pedal lag. This is dangerous and needs to be addressed. This is a 2021 ram with 283 miles on it again this is a dangerous issue

Backup camera sometimes has blank screen and guide lines sometimes are not there and zoom function does not work when no guidelines.truck has been to the dealership 5-7 times, in january they replaced the camera itself but did not fix the issue.i was to they cannot do anything at this point unless it fails at the dealer.it does not have the trailer backup camera.

Truck has stalled twice pulling into traffic.both times i have been taking a right turn.speed when it happens around 10 mph.it tells me to put my car in park and toun on the engine,this is going to get someone killed.i have been looking online and other people are having these issues.

I have had 2 safety issues with my 2021 ram 1500 laramie with approx. 4,500 miles on it. 1st , and most important, i have had the engine stall when accelerating from a stop onto a roadway. It has occurred between 5-25 mph approx while pulling from a stop, or slow roll,into traffic. The second occurrence was on 4/13/2021, unsure of the first date. The vehicles engine completely shuts down, i receive a message to apply my foot to the break, shift to park, and that the emergency break is auto applied once at a full stop. Thankfully i maintain electrical power so i can steer to the side of the road but the engine is completely without power and both times i have had traffic approaching from behind me. The 2nd issue, which is minor compared to a stalling engine, is that the backup camera periodically stops working. It either goes completely black (although the magnifying glass remains on the screen) or it gets a very poor quality image with lots of colored lines through the picture. This makes it much harder to maneuver a big truck when you have no view behind you from the camera.again minor relative to the stalling , which is my major concern,but after i took my truck in for the camera issue there is currently no fix and they are awaiting a software update. It is now back to the dealer for a second time in 4,500 miles most importantly to address the stalling and was brought in immediately after it occurred. I have also since had a clicking noise start in the steering column. I am not sure if this is just an annoyance or another issue. All items are reported to the dealer and their 800 number for which they have created cases.
Within a week of buying this vehicle i noticed the auto tint mirrors, rear view and driver's side, both dim when it is not bright outside.cloudy days or night they will dim with very little added light.outside house lights and parking lot lights will cause it to dim.if i open my doors while the truck is running, regards if headlights are on the dome light will dim the mirrors, if sitting at night while on the phone, it will dim the mirrors.the rear view mirror will brighten instantly, however the driver's side mirror will stay very dark for 1-2 minutes, making it impossible to see anything behind you.the vehicle has been to the dealership 7 times for this issue and for a backup camera issue in the last 3 months.the dealer said engineers for chrysler are saying that this is normal and designed to work this way.i'm not sure how removing the ability to see behind you is regarded as safe.
