I was involved in a single vehicle accident, i hit a patch of ice on june 7 th, 2020 in utah. My truck came upon the ice causing me to slip and slide and ultimately leave the road where i hit a fence and several other pieces of debris and a berm and finally came to a stop when the airbags did not deploy, i hit my face on the steering wheel breaking my nose, my husband and i both broke ribs and our back. We could of saved ourselves multiple injuries if our airbags deployed.*dt*dt*dt

I was driving my new dodge ram 1500 truck in denver, colorado. I was driving 25mph on a street/ avenue, my vehicle was in motion.a chevy tahoe unexpectedly smashed into the passenger side of my truck [ i was "t-boned"].not one single air bag inside the truck deployed !!! i was on my way taking a co-worker home from work.we both work sheet metal construction daily.an ambulance, fire dept., and police dept. All showed up.my co-worker and i both sustained injuries.i had to be taken by ambulance to denver health hospital.where the doctors all exclaimed, that my injuries wouldn't have been so bad had my air bags deployed.i personally suffered injuries to my left shoulder-clavicle area, as well as injuries to the left side of my neck, and between both of my shoulder blades.and the doctors are recommending now that i be seen mandatorily by a neurosurgeon here in denver, colorado, for my neck and shoulder injuries. *dt *dt

The truck was in a head on collision with a deer in 2018 that did not result in the air bags deploying.the truck was traveling on a county highway when a deer ran out and was struck with the front end of the truck.in august 2019, the truck was traveling on a country road when the driver struck a guard rail head on.this collision also did not deploy the air bags.also, the seat belts did not disengage after the accident (they stayed in the locked position).after talking with the tow truck company and the auto body shop, they felt that the severity of the second collision and the location should have deployed the air bags, but it did not.the pictures and police report are for the second collision.

There is a manufacture defect within the uconnect 8.4" screen that causes an adhesive layer to melt and limit the functionality of safety features. A bubble started forming under the screen with the size less than a dime, but has already quadrupled in size since i first noticed it. There is nothing that i can do to make it stop. I have had ghost touches, ranging from drastically reducing and increasing volume, and even having the backup camera turn off because it thinks i'm doing something else. These instances have been rare, but have been starting to become more frequent as the bubble grows larger.i've contacted dealerships and fca customer support, and they both acknowledged that this is a common problem, but will not help since i'm out of warranty. There are hundreds of documented cases of this happening to a wide variety of fca vehicles, with many of them being will under 10,000 miles. I should not have to pay for a manufacture defect because my odometer is higher than others. There are even cases of screens dialing 911 on accident or hanging up phone calls. What if i need to call 911 but am unable to? what if i'm using the backup camera, and it decides to randomly turn off? what if the melting adhesive drips and cause s a critical failure while i'm driving? what if the screen doesn't display the correct info for my parking sensors? these are all issues that should've been addressed long ago, but fca refuses to fix them. There are even class-action lawsuits against fca for uconnect malfunctions right now. These aren't rare occurrences.should i have to wait months, if not years, for a settlement to be made? this issue has plagued fca vehicles since this screen has been implemented, and it is dangerous to let thousands of vehicles run with such an unsafe product that is critical for the vehicle to function properly.

Passenger side heated seat prematurely turns off. Dealer states it is turning off because it is reaching max temperature so the safety mechanism is shutting it down so it does not burn up wiring. Only a handful of other trucks have this problem. Other truck owners with the same make and model of truck do not have this problem.

After getting back in my vehicle parked on a city street i restarted it and put it into drive. It would not move. I revved the engine but it still did not move. I finally shifted into park and back into drive again and them it worked. This has happened manly times before and the selector switch has even jumped out of park into reverse almost as many times and on one occasion it resulted in property damage of almost $3000. This is a safety issue that i believe the manufacturer knows about but refuses to acknowledge it because of profit. I do have a video of this latest incident if anyone is interested.

I entered my vehicle 2018ram1500 this morning after it had being stored inside my garage overnight. I sat down, pressed the brake and was about to start it when i noticed the shifter dial was on 'r' and began beeping continuously. I used the ignition button to switch from 'off' "acc" to 'start' and back/forth and pressing on the brake until i was able to shift the transmission to 'p'.once in 'p' i pressed the brake and then started the truck.when i proceeded to move on reverse out of my garage, it began beeping continuously and flashing two messages on the display , "service shifter" followed by "service transmission shut off engine to engage park"then my radio blackout.i could still hear music and was able to control it but there was no display.

The back up camera goes out and black outs at times.sometimes it looks like a old tv with wavy lines.the drivers window controller,you have the ability to use auto down and auto up.at times, you must hold up on the window switch to make the window go up.the headlights come on when you enter a dark garage and when you pull out they stay on.my vehicle does not have daytime running lights.the headlights will come on during morning with full sunshine. Sometimes there is a very loud knocking coming from the motor .sounds love like a bad valve.

The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign numbers: 18v332000 (electrical system, vehicle speed control) and 19v347000 (latches/locks/linkages) however, the parts to do the recall repairs were unavailable. The dealer central chrysler jeep (56 boston-providence turnpike, norwood, ma 02062) was contacted and confirmed that the parts were not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repairs. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was 72,000. Parts distribution disconnect.

The radio/touch screen component control on the dash started clicking around the screen on its own. I took the vehicle to my local dealership and they told me that the components behind the screen had melted. My dealership was aware of several complaints of this on my vehicle model and other dodge vehicles with similar radio/touch screen equipment, indicating that it is a widespread issue. This is unsafe because with all of the flickering around on the screen, it is very distracting to drive. I cannot turn the screen display off because it keeps turning itself back on. Also, this issue has rendered my hands free blue tooth connection for my phone inoperable. I am also concerned that this electrical issue may cause a fire. My dealership informed me that my factory warranty had expired by less than a month. I called dodge customer service and they refused to pay for the repairs under the factory warranty. I informed them of the safety issue that this is causing, but they still refused to fix it. Therefore, i am having to pay for these repairs through the extended warranty plan that i purchased from carmax and partially out of pocket. I am requesting that nhtsa investigate how widespread this issue is and if it warrants a mandatory recall by dodge.

Vehicle only has 12,800 miles. 4th trip to the local dealer. 3 times towed due to the disable. While driving vehicle shuts down and has no power. 1st time was informed during gen. Maintenance the computer housed no data as the vehicle stalled when putting it into gear. The next 3 times were all identical as it is clear it is starvation of fuel. Fuel pump changed after 1st tow. Sending unit changed after 2nd tow. Not sure after 3rd tow yet. It is incredibly unsafe as the loss of power to the motor creates loss of power steering. Not to mention being disabled in traffic and the safety concerns! in addition the passenger seat buckle has malfunctioned and has been on order for over 3 weeks. Now i can safely have a passenger in the car. Also minor but the front bumper is already rusting! and a couple other things.

I was driving and my high beams went out dash lights went out and windshield wipers went on on there own .i then came to a stop light and applied the break and all of the sudden the truck red lined and took off at full speed . I then turned the truck off to kill power to the motor due to it having electrical knob shifter and electrical transfer case this accident has caused my 3 hospital stays and 2 surgeryā€™s

At any given time the driver side auto up mode of the window will not work, the passenger sid eoutside mirror will not fold (electric fold option) the raido at times i am not able to change stations (it freezes up) i get a blue screen on the display at times, the car play at times wont work, the built inauto garage opener on the over head has to be activated several times before the garage door opens (all other openers work on the first try) at times the auto door locks (the door handle button) wont work at times the windshield wipers stsrt when there isn't any moisture (rain) these problems have been going on since i purchased the truck new.

The parking sensor for the front and rear of the vehicle show the visual indication on the dash but the audible sound only works on occasions. The alert is supposed to work at low speed or if you are to close to an object even if your vehicle is not in motion. The has happened off and on since the vehicle was purchased new. Powertrain controlsafety recall u61 has been completed and has not solved this issue.

1. Radio switches on its own to a different channel. Also switches to a m by itself or sirius xm and i have issues changing it back to what i was listening to.2.clock function pops up on screen and asks if i need to update the time which i do not. Sometimes i adjust it but it does not clear the screen.today this morning it was nice and cool this morning and i could not turn on the heat screen showed it was on the heat but it was blowing as the a c was o. It was cold.3. Today on the way home from work i was able to turn on the ac but it was blowing heater but it showed ac was on cold 4 oil life reset will not reset as instructed on the owners manual

Rear view camera, screen goes blue, or blk or with colored lines and you cant see anything. It does while driving, park & reverse. They have replaced the camera 4 times and still doing it the truck was new & have only had for 2 1/2 years.

On february 1, shortly after 9:00 pm central the engine shut off while i was on the interstate. I was in the left hand lane, having just passed as semi a bit earlier. I instinctively tried to start it while it was moving, causing the headlights to go off while i'm doing 75 mph. At that point started to pull over, though i could barely see the concrete divider and had tried to keep the tires on the rumble strip as i slowed down until i could see the barrier better. Once pulled over, i got it in park, started it, and was able to get home with no issue. When the engine shut off the dash lit up then went out like it would when you turn the ignition off. It's a miracle we did not hit the divider or the semi behind us didn't hit us.

Sudden, momentary (1-3 sec) deceleration accompanied by partial (?) electrical power loss (noted dashboard display blanked out during latest 2 events). The screen/digitizer on my uconnect infotainment center 8.4" 4c with navigation is delaminating.this is causing several issues, including: occasional loss of rear backup camera, loss of hvac control for de-icing and defogging of the front windscreen, ghost taps that cause unexpected and unsafe distraction, undesired activation of connected phones, and inability to access important diagnostic information.these malfunctions are random and unexpected.it can happen while stationary or moving.speed or location of vehicle do not seem to trigger or impact these malfunctions.uconnect refused my request to repair or replace the obvious manufacturer defective unit.

My vehicle is out of service due to a defect in the 8.4 uconnect radio.the radio (head unit) has misfunctioned and drains the battery until dead.an attempt to flash the head unit by the dealer was attempted but failed.this was done on june 17th.the dealer then put an order in for a new radio to fca.it has now been 2 weeks and 2 days since the vehicle was brought in for service.the vehicle is inoperable with no eta given by fca for the new radio. This problem can leave owners of ram 1500 trucks stranded with wifi , assist and sos functions unavailable in a truck that has no power. Fca does not have a recall in place and the dealer has indicated they have had to tow vehicles in.this is a known problem on past and present models ' a recall should be issued to make owners aware of this problem as the parts are not readily available.it is unknown when i will have an operational vehicle.

I have a radio that is not operating correctly and according to chrysler there is no fix and/or could never be a fix

The screen, used for hvac functions, seat heating/cooling, radio, hands-free bluetooth, backup camera, etc, becoming delaminated. Screen will randomly think that it is being pressed and disconnect phone calls, modify hvac levels, and change radio stations. This is becoming a widely recognized issue across several vehicles that use the uconnect 8.4 inch touchscreen(cdjr vehicles). The 2018 infotainment system delaminated resulting in loss of control of the radio, loss of hands off assistance from android auto,, and loss of control of the various auxiliary electrical functions such as the clock, setting temperature controls, etc. Vehicle only has 51,000 miles on the odometer.costs $957.00 to replace the unit.

Vehicle has failed to start 3 times in 2 1/2 months.i required road service each time.this occurred on jan. 16, 2019, mar, 20, 2019 and mar. 23, 2019.vehicle had been used for errands involving several stops with only a couple of miles in between, then it would not start and the battery was completely dead.dealer has looked at vehicle and noted that there are scores of 'low voltage' codes in the computer.this problem matches those noted in nhtsa recall u87.the 'crew cab' version of the truck is included in the recall but the 'quad cab' version is not.i cannot get the vehicle repaired and do not feel safe driving it if it may not start, anywhere anytime.

Ac is intermittent and does not turn on at times this happens while the vehicle is stationary or moving.wiper blades stopped working completely.

Gas gauge may indicate empty to full regardless of the amount of actual gas in tank.mileage too empty as displayed on dash panel readout reads up too twice actual distance one can drive truck?if trip odometer and mph displayed there in are displayedcorrectly?using trip odometer miles driven and dash display miles to empty divided by average mpg displayed equal gas tank size of 31.13 gallons.when maximum size tank provided by fca is 26 gallon.since none of the gauges/readouts seem to be reliable, one could pull into traffic or an intersection and not have any gasoline in the fuel tank. There by stalling out and causing an accident.truck currently undergoing 6th in dealership repair(two separate dealers){2nd time with fca star assistances}, no solutionto faulty readouts found! dealer work reports can be sent via usps if needed?

The uconnect does not work all the time some day it will work and then the next time i try to use it it doesn't

I was driving down a windy country road and the cruise control engaged itself and set to 90 mph while i was driving about 50-55.cancel did nothing, using the brakes caused them to squeal but the vehicle remained accelerating.i was able to disengage by putting the engine in neutral and using the push button to shut it off.

Screen radio it's touch screen and it's going from one screen to the other on its own and it turns up the heating seats the heater it goes up and down but never under 74f the radio station changes on its own if i have bluetooth connection it hangs on my calls and it calls random numbers and the sos 🆘 as well!if the sun heats it, it's worse took it to the dealership and the said it's a big issue there having! the have me on the waiting list supposedly i will need another radio and since my warranty is over it will cost me at least 1500$..this is very inconvenient i can even use the gps! this happens park and in motion you can't even turn it off the radio valine also goes up and down this can really cause and accident!

Drove the vehicle about 4 hours to pick up my daughter. Had the vehicle idling for a while as i waited for her arrive since she was running late. Put the car in drive and started to head home and the service shifter message came on. Then the transmission warning came on as well as a message with the brake system. The service engine light came on as well as the lightening bolt in red. I stopped and turned everything off hoping to reset and when i turned the vehicle on everything disappeared until i got back on the highway and then i had problems accelerating as all of gages didn't seem to engage. I got to the next exit and pulled into the closest parking lot and turned the vehicle off. However, it did not turn off. All of my gages went bessel, the windshield wipers turned on, on their own, and then all the lights on the shifter turned red and flashed. The dashboard continued to light up like it was trying to reset. I tried to start the vehicle and it would not start. Once all the lights finally turned off i was able to start the vehicle but the check engine light is still coming on.

Noticeable ticking sound from engine bay when the vehicle is started. The sound continues and gets faster when driving down the road and onto the freeway. The sound is caused from a defect in the design of the exhaust manifolds. They warp from the heat of the engine and snap the bolts that hold them to the engine block. Problems that this causes;- leaking exhaust trips the o2 sensor changing the fuel trims and causing the vehicle to run rich. The vehicle always running rich effects the eco mode and vehicle performance thus causes long term damage.- when the bolts snap off they drop out the bottom of the vehicle and become a projectile that hits the windshield of unsuspecting drivers and cause accidents.- heat caused from the heat shield falling off and the exhaust manifold being loose causes wires in the engine bay to melt and fray. This causes electrical malfunctions to major systems in the vehicle to include safety systems that keep the driver and passenger safe.- leaking exhaust causes erosion to the engine block and the exhaust manifold asit warps even more.this malfunction is a hazard to not only the driver and passenger of the vehicle but also unsuspecting drivers on the road that will be come victims to projectiles from this defect. Recall immediately to save lives!

The vehicle consisted of multiple times of t he vehicle not starting and having to be jumped for the vehicle to start.this vehicle has now been in the odaniel ford dealership in fort wayne, in for over 30 days with still no resolution - in since june 27th 2019 it is now august 1st and still no resolution has been determined on correcting this issue and have been given multiple rental cars along with being stuck paying for one of the rental vehicles as chrysler customer service has not returned our calls on case number 59164537 for the charge to my personal credit card.no contact either is being given from an additional case regarding the second ticket of the truck being in service this long with ticket 59395927.both tickets were given to us from chrysler customer service.

Without warning or apparent cause, remote start resulted in 'click' sound. Attempted to start with push button and did not turnover. Received jump. After parking and returning, issue resumed. Discovered necessity to keep pushing start button until very, very rough and resistant turnover initiated. On occasion the backup camera image in the rear view mirror does not appear/ appears very dark with sporadic colorful pixilation when the vehicle shifts into reverse and while backing up. Rarely the camera image stays displayed on the rear view mirror with the vehicle in drive and in motion until the vehicle is turned off.

These aren't rare occurrences.should i have to wait months, if not years, for a settlement to be made? this issue has plagued fca vehicles since this screen has been implemented, and it is dangerous to let thousands of vehicles run with such an unsafe product that is critical for the vehicle to function properly.

At 5 months 3600 miles of ownership the 4 corner air suspension went out. This also caused me to loss my electric stability control of the vehicle.while driving down the highway and switching lanes (before i know of the issue) the truck became very loose.i was driving at the speed limit and just the act of changing the lanes caused the rear end to sway a bit.i feel if this had happened to a less experienced driver they could have overreacted and caused an accident.a 16 year old would have reacted a lot different than myself a 40 year with driving experience in many different situations.the suspension going out in these vehicles is a known problem and needs to be taken care of.dodge should own up to it.bottom line, the 4 corner air suspension will cause serious injury or death to someone driving at highway speed when it goes out.i feel they are been enough issue with them that the air suspension should be discontinued and option giving to go back to standard suspension or warranty them for the life of the vehicle.

Drove the vehicle about 4 hours to pick up my daughter. Had the vehicle idling for a while as i waited for her arrive since she was running late. Put the car in drive and started to head home and the service shifter message came on. Then the transmission warning came on as well as a message with the brake system. The service engine light came on as well as the lightening bolt in red. I stopped and turned everything off hoping to reset and when i turned the vehicle on everything disappeared until i got back on the highway and then i had problems accelerating as all of gages didn't seem to engage. I recently purchased a 2018 ram 1500 diesel with 23,000 miles from carmax. There is a recall, vb1, on the truck. The parts required to fix the recall are unavailablein a timely manner. Icontacted 7 ram dealerships in my area to discover each has a waiting list for the parts of 70 to 200 vehiclesbecause the parts are "restricted"; only 1 part may be ordered per week by any dealership. Therefore,the actual time required to repair the defect is at minimum is 1 to 3 years at that rate. According to the recall vb1 there is a risk of a potential vehicle fire. I contacted chrysler (fca) customer service and was told there is nothing that can be done to get the parts faster to the dealers since they are restricted to 1 part per order per week, that there is no eta of when , if at all, the supply of parts will be increased. I am filling this complaint so perhaps others will not suffer the same problem if they purchase a used ram truck with this recall.

The back up camera goes out and black outs at times.sometimes it looks like a old tv with wavy lines.the drivers window controller,you have the ability to use auto down and auto up.at times, you must hold up on the window switch to make the window go up.the headlights come on when you enter a dark garage and when you pull out they stay on.my vehicle does not have daytime running lights.the headlights will come on during morning with full sunshine. While backing up the vehicle stopped, bells went off in vehicle, the p light on the shifter and dashboard began flashing, a message appeared in the dash message center stating to apply the parking brake. I shut the vehicle off but only could turn the key to accessory. The vehicle wouldn't shift to park. The vehicles electrical system wouldn't shut down, i couldn't remove the key.while stopped i opened the owners manual to review the transmission section and it explained that if the issue occurs to follow printed procedure.eventually i was able to shut down the electrical system.the issue is that this could been a more serious issue if i wasn't backing into my own driveway.this wouldn't turned out well if i was backing into a busy street.i have a video available of the lights flashing.i attached a still photo of the dash.

In oct 2019, i received the recall notice for the egr cooler (nhtsa recall number19v-757), but there was no remedy. Around 6/13/20, my check engine light came on. The decoder said it was the egr cooler. I brought my truck to the dealer, but they said they couldn't fix it because the new part hasn't been issued by chrysler. I opened a case with fca and my case manager told me to take my truck back to the dealer so they can put a new defective part in my truck so i could still be able to drive it. The next day, i brought my truck back to the dealership and it has been there ever since. On 7/13/20, i received a call from the service manager who said fca released the new part and that i would get my truck back in a few days. After a few weeks passed by, the service manager told me he was misinformed about the new part and that they don't have it and they don't know when the part will be available. I filed a lawsuit under california's lemon law. I just want fca to buy back my truck, so i can replace it.

I own a 2018 ecodiesel and when my truck went in for an oil change they did an update called aem or v08 emissions update. After the update my truck no longer accelerates from a stop. It crawls at under 10mph extremely slow aprox. 90 seconds until the vehicle accelerates. This is extremely dangerous i have been in 3 near accidents due to a lack of acceleration. In addition to the lack of acceleration i now get much lower gas mileage. Prior to the update i was getting 27 mpg, now the best i have gotten was 19mpg. I feel this should be against the law, to purchase a vehicle that get good gas mileage and drives they way it did when i test drove it, which is the reason why i purchasedit. Only for them to completely change my vehicle after the purchase without my permission is to me a bait and switch.

Got the recall, took it to my dealer and they said it's not much of a problem, and when the fix is available they would let me know. Went online and seen several of the trucks like mine have been totaled from a fire, and they burn pretty fast. The dealer stated that the fix should be available sometime in april.

Vehicle engine shuts off while driving. Once, sitting at a stop light. Once traveling at 45mph on a country road and once accelerating up a hill at 20mph. Dash says "place vehicle in park and turn key to start" (paraphrased). The vehicle goes from running to not running with no warning, causing loss of power steering, brakes, etc. Took vehicle to certified ram service center who said 'there are no codes and we cannot reproduce the issue, so no diagnosis possible' (paraphrased). No error codes, no warning lamps. If this happens in highway traffic with my 16 year old son driving, it could cause a fatal crash.

Was informed no parts were available, nor would they be available until at least the end of april. Was informed trucks that used antifreeze coolant due to cracked egr would get replaced/repaired first. My truck has appetite for coolant, have used a bit over 2 gallons since new. You can smell coolant, one would think there was a leak, was informed it was the cracked egr. Coolant in the combustion chamber will cause premature engine failure. My truck was not returned to me until 2/25/20 because of other needed work. My fuel mileage has been well below the epa rated 27 mpg, is it because of the egr?i had family emergency in calif and i planned to drive there from my home here in ak, but dealership did not recommend driving that far because of possible engine failure along the way. Recall vb!/nhtsa 19v-757 ,when i got this recall a couple months ago i went to my dealer and was told the parts would be available in april, called april 16th and was told that they have a lot of vehicles on the lots that need to be fixed first and check back in june to see if the parts are available for my vehicle. When i lookup the problems many of the same vehicles like mine are burning in just a short time. I am very concerned that this has not been a priority for the dealer or manufacture. I want to report a safety concern.the concern is already aware by the manufacturer but i want to address the potential risk it put our family in. The recall is known as the vb! or nhtsa # 19v-757.we bought this truck to have a nice and reliable car to transport our 1 year old child in.our last 2012 jeep grand cherokee left us stranded in the middle of the rode with our kid due to the computer telling all injectors to stay open and resulting in the motor hydro-locking itself.we took out financing to purchase and the great 2018 ecodiesel dodge ram.just 2 months into owning this my wife lost all power going down the freeway.she reported mass amount of smoke coming from the hood and thank god she managed to merge over all lanes and to the best of her ability with no power got the truck off the highway by about 5 feet and then quickly turned off the motor and distanced her self from the truck.she called me in complete panic.this story would be much different if our child was strapped into the car seat on this particular drive.since this occurrence the truck has been parked in over flow at my local dealership and continues to sit until fiat discovers a correct repair to the cracking egr.i warn you to all your family members that you haul down the road in your ecodiesel.this is a real concern!dealership has confirmed this was a result of the vb1 recall. Their was no exterior damage to the truck as the motor was quickly shot off.the intake manifold needs to be replaced, and a new turbo is also needed.i am no sure of what other internal engine components are needed replacement.

Without warning or apparent cause, remote start resulted in 'click' sound. Attempted to start with push button and did not turnover. Received jump. After parking and returning, issue resumed. Discovered necessity to keep pushing start button until very, very rough and resistant turnover initiated. Erg cooler leak

Noticeable ticking sound from engine bay when the vehicle is started. The sound continues and gets faster when driving down the road and onto the freeway. The sound is caused from a defect in the design of the exhaust manifolds. They warp from the heat of the engine and snap the bolts that hold them to the engine block. Problems that this causes;- leaking exhaust trips the o2 sensor changing the fuel trims and causing the vehicle to run rich. The vehicle always running rich effects the eco mode and vehicle performance thus causes long term damage.- when the bolts snap off they drop out the bottom of the vehicle and become a projectile that hits the windshield of unsuspecting drivers and cause accidents.- heat caused from the heat shield falling off and the exhaust manifold being loose causes wires in the engine bay to melt and fray. This causes electrical malfunctions to major systems in the vehicle to include safety systems that keep the driver and passenger safe.- leaking exhaust causes erosion to the engine block and the exhaust manifold asit warps even more.this malfunction is a hazard to not only the driver and passenger of the vehicle but also unsuspecting drivers on the road that will be come victims to projectiles from this defect. Recall immediately to save lives!

Drove the vehicle about 4 hours to pick up my daughter. Had the vehicle idling for a while as i waited for her arrive since she was running late. I own a 2018 ecodiesel and when my truck went in for an oil change they did an update called aem or v08 emissions update. After the update my truck no longer accelerates from a stop. It crawls at under 10mph extremely slow aprox. 90 seconds until the vehicle accelerates. This is extremely dangerous i have been in 3 near accidents due to a lack of acceleration. In addition to the lack of acceleration i now get much lower gas mileage. Prior to the update i was getting 27 mpg, now the best i have gotten was 19mpg. I feel this should be against the law, to purchase a vehicle that get good gas mileage and drives they way it did when i test drove it, which is the reason why i purchasedit. Only for them to completely change my vehicle after the purchase without my permission is to me a bait and switch.

Noticeable ticking sound from engine bay when the vehicle is started. The sound continues and gets faster when driving down the road and onto the freeway. The sound is caused from a defect in the design of the exhaust manifolds. They warp from the heat of the engine and snap the bolts that hold them to the engine block. Problems that this causes;- leaking exhaust trips the o2 sensor changing the fuel trims and causing the vehicle to run rich. The vehicle always running rich effects the eco mode and vehicle performance thus causes long term damage.- when the bolts snap off they drop out the bottom of the vehicle and become a projectile that hits the windshield of unsuspecting drivers and cause accidents.- heat caused from the heat shield falling off and the exhaust manifold being loose causes wires in the engine bay to melt and fray. This causes electrical malfunctions to major systems in the vehicle to include safety systems that keep the driver and passenger safe.- leaking exhaust causes erosion to the engine block and the exhaust manifold asit warps even more.this malfunction is a hazard to not only the driver and passenger of the vehicle but also unsuspecting drivers on the road that will be come victims to projectiles from this defect. Recall immediately to save lives!

Fuel nozzle repeatedly gets stuck in fuel filler housing. Unable to dislodge nozzle. Filler assembly broke and filler neck loose. Now unable to fill gas tank

When fueling the vehicle the pump handle will stick inside the tank. Also when filling up with gas the pump stops as if the vehicle is saying it is full. You have to continue squeezing the handle for gas to come out. The vehicle is off and in a stationary position while filling the tank. I have to look at the gallons i am putting into my vehicle so i know the vehicle is full. However there have been a few times the tank has overfilled causing gas to come out of the tank. Again once finished filling up i can not easily just pull the handle out and replace back to the pump i have to grab the handle with two hands then position the handle pulling up on it and pull back and fourth until it finally decides to come out of my tank. There had been a time my girlfriend took the vehicle out of town and she filled it before she had left. Again the handle for gas was stuck and i had to leave work to go and get it out for her. Leaking gas out of the tank is really bad for the environment and also i get nervous since i feel like pressure is building up while filling as well. This has to be happening to more vehicles like mine. And if so we have to figure out how this can be fixed. Thank you for your time and help on this matter.

Fueling while stationary fuel nozzle does not fit properly into refuel neck of vehicle. I must lift up on handle and nozzle entire time of fueling. Having to do this causes pain in wrists and slows refueling time. Locking mecanism in handle wiil not hold kicking off flow of fuel having to repeat the process, thus aggravating others in crowded wait lines. People yell angrily coming close to physical conflict. Others in vehicle forums express same. There are after market fixes but not all have fixed the problem.

I recently purchased a 2018 ram 1500 diesel with 23,000 miles from carmax. There is a recall, vb1, on the truck. The parts required to fix the recall are unavailablein a timely manner. Icontacted 7 ram dealerships in my area to discover each has a waiting list for the parts of 70 to 200 vehiclesbecause the parts are "restricted"; only 1 part may be ordered per week by any dealership. Therefore,the actual time required to repair the defect is at minimum is 1 to 3 years at that rate. According to the recall vb1 there is a risk of a potential vehicle fire. I contacted chrysler (fca) customer service and was told there is nothing that can be done to get the parts faster to the dealers since they are restricted to 1 part per order per week, that there is no eta of when , if at all, the supply of parts will be increased. I am filling this complaint so perhaps others will not suffer the same problem if they purchase a used ram truck with this recall.

Most, but not all of the gas station filling nozzles stick in my gas filler when i try to remove them. They are very difficult to remove and requires a lot of pulling and twisting to get them out. This happens all the time, not one time as calendar shows.

Truck has less than a 1,000 miles on it.made first attempt to fill tank-nozzle difficult to put in tank spilled gas all over, difficult to remove.needed gas again, my son tried putting gas and had same issue, but more difficult to remove.3 time i tried filling-extremely difficult to get nozzle in, would only puts small amounts of gas in at a time without shutting off-nozzle would not come out.station attendants tried with no success, suggested i call a tow truck to remove it.son lived close so he came and finally had to use a screw driver to remove nozzle.took truck to dodge-yes they are aware of issue but have no fix and i will just have to deal with it.looked at dodge chat posts and many people have the same issue.suggestions from other dealers included replacing the tank at the owners cost ($2,000.00)i chatted withe dodge and they said the same- if it becomes a recall then they would re-imburse the owner.this is a design flaw by the manufacture should be covered by dodge. After putting the fuel nozzle in gas tank filler pipe, it gets stuck when trying to remove it from the filler pipe. I understand this is very common on this model. Vehicle was parked at gas station and off when filling up. This happens often with this truck and i have less than 3500 miles on it.

Diesel ecodiesel engine catastrophic failure while driving in mountainous area. Lost all power immediately and resulted in interference with steering, brakes, and need to move off of the roadway to avoid other traffic. Vehicle only has 11,300 miles, failure occurred without warning.

21,000 miles on truck. I have had issues putting gas in through the fuel tube. Gas nozzle will shut off after few seconds, and will spurt back out on to myself. I've had to manually hold the nozzle just on the edge of the fuel tube while holding back the nozzle. It can take up to 15 minutes to fill gas tank. I've had it in to dealer twice after getting frustrated with this issue. They replace the fuel tube, part # omc 68448220aa. It will take gas a few fill-ups then i'll have the same problem .i feel this is definitely a manufacture defect that needs to be addressed. With the gas spurting out it is a safety issue. I've had the truck in to for repairs on 2/24/21 and 1/3/20.

I observed a owner trying to remove the gas station's filler hose after shut off without success. Once the vapor recovery hose nozel was inserted, the collar on the hose locked on the filler tube. It was extremely difficult to remove, so after jerking etc it finally came out. The problem is the angle of the tube and no clearance from the body of the pickup bed.the owner of the gas station said it was not the first time for this specific vehicle. He is at monroe and walnut at red bluff, ca, 96080. He is a very concerned owner.

Driving home from work. Had used cruise control at 70mph on freeway, but had not used it in town.i was decelerating for a stop light, when it turned green.i was probably traveling 15-20mph when i began accelerating again.i heard a click, like a relay or solenoid and the vehicle began to accelerate as if i had hit "resume".last speed preset had been 70mph.i was able to cancel the acceleration by hitting the brakes, but i nearly rear ended the car in front of me.i did not hit "resume" by mistake either, as my hand was not on the steering wheel near the buttons.in further troubleshooting, the cruise will not engage below 25mph.if resume is pushed before passing 25mph (during acceleration), then nothing happens.

We bought the vehicle brand new at bill luke in phoenix arizona, after getting the vehicle home we noticed the underneath of the vehicle is rusted and the paint is flaking off.we meet with the district manager of chrysler and she stated rust is normal on brand new vehicle, they took off a couple of parts, cleaned them up and painted, we asked about all the other parts, engine block, suspension parts, oil pan, outer wheel bearing covers and they let us know they are not going to do anything.the dealership body shop, used touch up paint on the areas the paint was flaking off and that came right off and more paint is flaking off and chrysler is not going to do anything about that either.

The fca assistance center deemed my truck undrivable by approving a tow truck to haul my vehicle to the dealership for repairs. The dealership did not offer a loaner so i can get to work tomorrow, so i called the fca assistance center to get a vehicle due to product liability. They put me on hold, then responded with "i will get back to you tomorrow..what's the best phone number to reach you?"

While backing up the vehicle stopped, bells went off in vehicle, the p light on the shifter and dashboard began flashing, a message appeared in the dash message center stating to apply the parking brake. My 2018 dodge ram 1500 with 32000 miles has a problem shifting out of park, and now has "check engine light on" now!

Truck wont go into reverse when turning the rotary dial.this happens after driving the truck for a couple of miles.if you turn the rotary dial to the the r position it just sits there like it is in neutral.in order to get it to go into reverse, you have to turn the dial back to p, then turn the dial to d and then turn it back to r.this is potentially dangerous because if you are on an incline and turn it to r it will roll forward and not go into reverse.

There is a recall on the driveshaft that can cause the incomplete weld to brake and cause crash v48 is the recall. When i went to the dealership on 6/27/19 was told that the part needs to be ordered. Today is one week later and still no part i have contacted chrysler directly and was told the parts are available so not sure why i'm still waiting on parts? it's dangerous to drive the vehicle according to the recall note.

I entered my vehicle 2018ram1500 this morning after it had being stored inside my garage overnight. I sat down, pressed the brake and was about to start it when i noticed the shifter dial was on 'r' and began beeping continuously. I used the ignition button to switch from 'off' "acc" to 'start' and back/forth and pressing on the brake until i was able to shift the transmission to 'p'.once in 'p' i pressed the brake and then started the truck.when i proceeded to move on reverse out of my garage, it began beeping continuously and flashing two messages on the display , "service shifter" followed by "service transmission shut off engine to engage park"then my radio blackout.i could still hear music and was able to control it but there was no display.

I noticed, shortly after purchasing truck from a used car dealer with 96000 miles on it,that the gas mileage was getting worse steadily( highway miles ).then one day, on the way home from work ,the passenger side rear tire was smoking. Took it over to my mechanic and found out my whole rear axle had to be replaced. This cost me almost 5000 dollars

There is an open recall on these vans (we have 3 of them) that ram has not determined a remedy for.i have contacted them and had only 1 correspondence returned, basically saying they do not have an answer.

I was driving out of my drive way, and my vehicle went into park by itself. It appeared a strange message on the screen saying 'car not in drive, shift to park'. Also my vehicle displayed an alert message saying 'alert: electronic throttle control system malfunction, the vehicle onboard diagnostic system has detected a malfunction'. Also another alert was displayed as 'alert: engine system malfunction'. Not only did my vehicle have these malfunctions but my heated steering wheel and seats were being used by itself. I was not in control of these panels. Last, my sensors on my ram do not function correctly, if i am pulling up close to an object my sensors will not 'beep'. Only time they go off is if i hit the objects in front of me. Last but not least, my 'check engine light' was on and the temperature gauge indicated the temperature outside was below 41 f when in fact it was 65 f.

While driving on an interstate 5 in washington in cruise control at 76mph going up hill, the truck made a gear grinding noise. I gave the truck some gas towards the top of the and at that point the truck violently shook, i heard a loud thud and saw sparks flying from the rear end.i was going down hill by this point.i saw a large metal piece come flying off the rear of the truck. When i went to pull over, the truck was hard to steer and control, the rear wheels locked up the last 8-12 feet before stopping. Upon getting out i noticed the driveshaft dropped & hanging from the vehicle. The truck was in a head on collision with a deer in 2018 that did not result in the air bags deploying.the truck was traveling on a county highway when a deer ran out and was struck with the front end of the truck.in august 2019, the truck was traveling on a country road when the driver struck a guard rail head on.this collision also did not deploy the air bags.also, the seat belts did not disengage after the accident (they stayed in the locked position).after talking with the tow truck company and the auto body shop, they felt that the severity of the second collision and the location should have deployed the air bags, but it did not.the pictures and police report are for the second collision.

Vehicle only has 12,800 miles. 4th trip to the local dealer. 3 times towed due to the disable. While driving vehicle shuts down and has no power. 1st time was informed during gen. Maintenance the computer housed no data as the vehicle stalled when putting it into gear. The next 3 times were all identical as it is clear it is starvation of fuel. Fuel pump changed after 1st tow. Sending unit changed after 2nd tow. Not sure after 3rd tow yet. It is incredibly unsafe as the loss of power to the motor creates loss of power steering. Not to mention being disabled in traffic and the safety concerns! in addition the passenger seat buckle has malfunctioned and has been on order for over 3 weeks. Now i can safely have a passenger in the car. Also minor but the front bumper is already rusting! and a couple other things.

Drivers seat belt does not lock in place. Hangs loose around shoulder.

The passenger seat belt buckle was rough or sharp enough that it cut into the belt fabric.it would ride up the belt when retracting and hit the upper limit of travel and cut into the belt.for safety i needed to replace the belt with a new one.i saved the torn seat belt assembly and my receipt for the repair.

The screen, used for hvac functions, seat heating/cooling, radio, hands-free bluetooth, backup camera, etc, becoming delaminated. Screen will randomly think that it is being pressed and disconnect phone calls, modify hvac levels, and change radio stations. This is becoming a widely recognized issue across several vehicles that use the uconnect 8.4 inch touchscreen(cdjr vehicles). 2018 dodge ram 1500. Consumer writes in regards to hole in drivers side seat. *ldthe comsumer stated the failure may be due to the seat heater over heating.

At any given time the driver side auto up mode of the window will not work, the passenger sid eoutside mirror will not fold (electric fold option) the raido at times i am not able to change stations (it freezes up) i get a blue screen on the display at times, the car play at times wont work, the built inauto garage opener on the over head has to be activated several times before the garage door opens (all other openers work on the first try) at times the auto door locks (the door handle button) wont work at times the windshield wipers stsrt when there isn't any moisture (rain) these problems have been going on since i purchased the truck new.

Passenger side heated seat prematurely turns off. Dealer states it is turning off because it is reaching max temperature so the safety mechanism is shutting it down so it does not burn up wiring. Only a handful of other trucks have this problem. Other truck owners with the same make and model of truck do not have this problem.

I was driving about 35-45 mph was attempting to move into the right lane and i felt my steering wheel lock up. It wouldn't let me turn my wheel. So then as i attempted to slam on my brakes so i did t hit a tree the brakes went to the floor and i smashed into the tree and the. I to the woods. I was taken to the hospital 911. The hole front of the truck is destroyed.

The contact owns a 2018 ram 1500. While the vehicle was parked and unoccupied, it rolled down a hill on its own. The failure occurred five times. The vehicle crashed into a neighbor's tree, but was not damaged. The most recent failure occurred this morning. While the contact's daughter was inside the vehicle, it rolled backwards a few feet on the same hill before stopping. There were no warning indicators illuminated. I was unable to stop vehicle as i was approaching an intersection on a city streetwent to press on the brakes all the lights started flashing, brake system flashed, no traction light came on, vehicle turned off. No error codes, no warning lamps. If this happens in highway traffic with my 16 year old son driving, it could cause a fatal crash.

After turning from the highway feeder onto a small road, i knew a large bump in the road was coming up. Everyone who travels the road knows about it and how you need to slow down. After i made made the turn, i applied my brake in anticipation of the bump, however nothing happened. There wasn't any pressure. I tried one more time and it was the same result. I then tried to consecutively pump the brakes, but there was no change. At that point i was approaching the cement mixer in front of me. I was so close that i knew impact was inevitable. I put my arms to the side, faced forward, and kept my body loose at the last second to try to minimize any injuries and thankfully it worked. My vehicle directly hit the cement mixer in front of me. Almost all damage was done to my vehicle with minimal to the mixer.

Power steering failure. Power steering locks up intermittently, more so when making a left turn. Service power steering message comes up in dash and then disappears after a couple seconds. This incident happened both when vehicle was in motion making a left turn in an intersection almost causing a collision and also when parked and attempting to steer left attempting to duplicate the problem.

1. Electric power steering (eps) failure causes sporadic or no power steering.2. I was driving when the steering was sporadic causing oversteering and then when it totally went out the vehicle the vehicle was very hard to steer. 3. Dealer has the truck now for diagnosis. This is a known component manufactures defect. 4. About 3 weeks before steering went out there was a clicking noise when turning. I contacted the dealer and scheduled an appointment. I spoke to a technician, at that time, and was told the noise was normal and no appointment was necessary. Appointment was subsequently canceled, 3 weeks later the failure occurred.many of the blogs online show this issue to be a safety problem. Manufactures defect. Please address this issue it is a safety issue to everyone who has eps.

Diesel ecodiesel engine catastrophic failure while driving in mountainous area. Lost all power immediately and resulted in interference with steering, brakes, and need to move off of the roadway to avoid other traffic. Vehicle only has 11,300 miles, failure occurred without warning.

Started off by having a tough spot once in a while turning my steering wheel.now its total failure on and off. Not consistent, i can be going 20 ,ph and it works good, then my steering just fails.at 60 mph it works great then all of a sudden it fails.extremely dangerous. I have almost lost control 3 times.called the dealership and they have no idea where to even start to look for the problem. Made traveling over the holidays very dangerous. Ihave read where there are numerous complaints of this same issue with other 2018 ram rebel trucks as well as over 1500 2019 ram trucks as well.

Started having trouble in the steering. Tightening up and hard to steer. Some thing was wrong with the steering shaft. And with this bad it caused the rack and pinion to go bad. Couldn't get it programmed after the shaft was fixed because of the rack and pinion. So its in the shop now and will be in there for over 2 weeks waiting on the rack and pinion.i have had this truck just over a year and i'm having to put over 3000.00 in it. It was hard to steer going around a corner. The wheel would stick and i would have to turn it back. Trying to back up the wheel was hard to turn.

Truck leaks somewhere. It is in the shop right now for the 3rd time for the leak. Got told it was fixed 2 times already and it still leaked. The truck has heated back seats and that's where the truck holds water, underneath the back seat storage. I won't use the heated back seats cause my carpet stays wet when it's raining. There is also a subwoofer under the backseat where it holds water, it's gotten replaced once already from the water damage. And it has gotten wet again. The carpet got replaced once, there was mold, and the carpet got wet again so they are going to have to replace it again cause there is more than likely mold from it holding water.

The contact owns a 2018 ram 1500. The contact stated that while hauling a trailer driving at 30 mph, the vehicle tail gate fractured causing the trailer to crash into the vehicle. No injuries weresustained. Damages where to the trailer left gate. The vehicle was taken to the dealer (chantz scott chrysler dodge jeep ram 300 bachman dr, greeneville, tn 37745 (423) 761-4258) where it was inspected and informed the contact that no recalls were under the vin. The vehicle was repaired. The contact mentioned nhtsa campaign number: 19v347000(latches/locks/linkages) as a possible solution to the failure however, the vin was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that she waited to long for the recall repair. The failure mileage was approximately 71,000.

My vehicles has had a 2 recalls and have also taken in for repair. Recently i had to take it for a ticking noise, they found that the ticking noise was due to an exhaust leak on the right exhaust manifold. Every several months there's a new issue found with my vehicle.

We bought the vehicle brand new at bill luke in phoenix arizona, after getting the vehicle home we noticed the underneath of the vehicle is rusted and the paint is flaking off.we meet with the district manager of chrysler and she stated rust is normal on brand new vehicle, they took off a couple of parts, cleaned them up and painted, we asked about all the other parts, engine block, suspension parts, oil pan, outer wheel bearing covers and they let us know they are not going to do anything.the dealership body shop, used touch up paint on the areas the paint was flaking off and that came right off and more paint is flaking off and chrysler is not going to do anything about that either.

Brand new truck with all kinds of paint issues and fca does not want to do anything for me shame on them

I bought my 2018 ram 1500 express crew cab 4x4 a year and 2 months ago.in about a month after purchase i got a star-shaped crack on my windshield.in a few days i slightly hit the windshield with a wiper to remove a snow from it.and that star-shaped crack suddenly went all way through the windshield, from side to side.i replaced the windshield with the oem mopar one, identical to the factory one.a few days ago i was driving through a little town where i work, maintaining the speed of 30 mph due to the limit.suddenly i heard something (very far from significantly heavy) hit my windshield.i've got a 3-4 inch crack from the bottom right edge (passenger side).i contacted the manufacturer, and it's representative told me to go to the authorized dealer for inspection.the service manager at the dealership showed me there is a tiny, needle tip size rock chip, about a couple inches from the edge on the crack.he said, there's no issue with anything about the windshield itself and stated that i have to replace it on my own.i called back the manufacturer and got the response there's nothing they can do for me in such a case.but as a part of the common sense: if the windshield gets cracked so easily, from the consumer's standpoint there's an obvious manufacturing defect and significant deviation from the defined quality and safety standards.

Unpredictable vibrations at various highway speeds. Sometimes annoying other times more severe. This condition also existed on my previous 2017 ram 1500 that i just traded in. This is the second ram 1500 that has had the exact same symptoms. I just bought this truck brand new 10/05/19. Dealers cannot solve, and fca customer care is useless. I suspect this is a know issue with ram. The standard canned answer is it is the tires.

I found 4 recalls online for this vehicle, none of which we were notified on and none of which have been checked on, yet this site says there are no un resolved recalls

Sometimes, when i make a left or right turn or hit a bump in the road, or a pothole, there is a "thud" sound in the front of the truck. The sound is like metal against metal.i've talked to the dealership and they didn't hear it when they took it for a test drive.

At 5 months 3600 miles of ownership the 4 corner air suspension went out. This also caused me to loss my electric stability control of the vehicle.while driving down the highway and switching lanes (before i know of the issue) the truck became very loose.i was driving at the speed limit and just the act of changing the lanes caused the rear end to sway a bit.i feel if this had happened to a less experienced driver they could have overreacted and caused an accident.a 16 year old would have reacted a lot different than myself a 40 year with driving experience in many different situations.the suspension going out in these vehicles is a known problem and needs to be taken care of.dodge should own up to it.bottom line, the 4 corner air suspension will cause serious injury or death to someone driving at highway speed when it goes out.i feel they are been enough issue with them that the air suspension should be discontinued and option giving to go back to standard suspension or warranty them for the life of the vehicle.

Fog light housing bracket is worn down, causing fog light to move around/bounce light beam while driving. Causing distraction to other drivers. Front suspension (air leveling suspension) bottoms out to bump stops while driving.

Air suspension in the front goes down ,repaired and goes bad again soon .its 6th time being repaired with only 32000 miles.

The air suspension fails and the front end goes down and its a very rough ride .with in 28000 k miles it has gone back torepair three times for this problem. Called ram help center they wont take the vehicle back or do recall .big safety problem. *ln

The air suspension was repaired three times by larry h. Miller colorado chrysler jeep (350 s havana st, aurora, co 80012, (720) 262-2215), but the failure continued. The vehicle had not been repaired for a fourth time. The diagnostic information was not provided. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 7,000.

Air suspension fails when cold. Vehicle was stationary. Very common problem. Vehicle is not driveable when this occurs.

The air suspension system on my 2018 ram rebel 1500 keeps failing.i have taken it to the dealership 4 times still to have the problem.as a result, my vehicleis experiencingaccelerated wear and tear on other vehicle components, including, but not limited to, the fuses, relays, bolt joints and bushing which in turn affects the alignment of the wheels.

Air suspension gives out will at high rates of speed.it becomes unsafe to drive. And is not reliable to be on the road as not having suspension in a new vehicle at high or slow rates of speed is a severe safety issue. This is the third time this had happens and will be in the shop again for a quick fix by the dealer. I will be contacting wa state attorney general to do a lemon law as this fall in the un safe category.

The navigation and control systems associated with the uconnect system- system is in reboot status for the last 3 days - 1000's of 2018 vehicles affected - rebooting every 60 seconds and loss of navigation, back up camera and other functions.no fix so far from chrysler - affecting jeep, dodge, and ram

My local dealer said they don't have the egr parts that are recalled

1. Radio switches on its own to a different channel. Also switches to a m by itself or sirius xm and i have issues changing it back to what i was listening to.2.clock function pops up on screen and asks if i need to update the time which i do not. Sometimes i adjust it but it does not clear the screen.today this morning it was nice and cool this morning and i could not turn on the heat screen showed it was on the heat but it was blowing as the a c was o. It was cold.3. Today on the way home from work i was able to turn on the ac but it was blowing heater but it showed ac was on cold 4 oil life reset will not reset as instructed on the owners manual

Screen radio it's touch screen and it's going from one screen to the other on its own and it turns up the heating seats the heater it goes up and down but never under 74f the radio station changes on its own if i have bluetooth connection it hangs on my calls and it calls random numbers and the sos 🆘 as well!if the sun heats it, it's worse took it to the dealership and the said it's a big issue there having! the have me on the waiting list supposedly i will need another radio and since my warranty is over it will cost me at least 1500$..this is very inconvenient i can even use the gps! this happens park and in motion you can't even turn it off the radio valine also goes up and down this can really cause and accident!

I want to report a safety concern.the concern is already aware by the manufacturer but i want to address the potential risk it put our family in. The recall is known as the vb! or nhtsa # 19v-757.we bought this truck to have a nice and reliable car to transport our 1 year old child in.our last 2012 jeep grand cherokee left us stranded in the middle of the rode with our kid due to the computer telling all injectors to stay open and resulting in the motor hydro-locking itself.we took out financing to purchase and the great 2018 ecodiesel dodge ram.just 2 months into owning this my wife lost all power going down the freeway.she reported mass amount of smoke coming from the hood and thank god she managed to merge over all lanes and to the best of her ability with no power got the truck off the highway by about 5 feet and then quickly turned off the motor and distanced her self from the truck.she called me in complete panic.this story would be much different if our child was strapped into the car seat on this particular drive.since this occurrence the truck has been parked in over flow at my local dealership and continues to sit until fiat discovers a correct repair to the cracking egr.i warn you to all your family members that you haul down the road in your ecodiesel.this is a real concern!dealership has confirmed this was a result of the vb1 recall. Their was no exterior damage to the truck as the motor was quickly shot off.the intake manifold needs to be replaced, and a new turbo is also needed.i am no sure of what other internal engine components are needed replacement.

The egr unit in my truck is cracked.my dodge dealer states that there is a backorder on the parts and additionally i think they don't have a remedy and are calling that a "backorder".the coolant vapor that enters my truck is causing headaches and i am concerned my truck may catch on fire due to the documented facts regarding cracked egr units.the coolant vapor enters the truck cab while moving or parked and with and without the heater fan being activated.

My u-connect screen is being taken over with weather alerts so often that it is dangerous! these are coming from sirius travel link and cannot be turned off. One must acknowledge them by clicking the "x" or "ok" each time as they do not time out or otherwise disappear on their own accord. Please force either dodge, u-connect, or sirius to include a disable button!

The radio that comes stock randomly starts to delaminate. In doing so, it begins to interfere with the touch screen performance and becomes extremely disruptive to the driver with the constant changes, radio changes, screen changes, pushing things constantly on the screen without user input - if using apple or android, it can get stuck in loops trying to get you to call or text or other loops where it constantly changes your music. Even if you turn the screen off it will come back on and go nuts. This happens anytime the vehicle is turned on and is very disruptive while attempting to drive. There is no way to prevent it other than removing the fuse but then you are left without a means to have hands free driving and navigation.

I own a 2018 ecodiesel and when my truck went in for an oil change they did an update called aem or v08 emissions update. After the update my truck no longer accelerates from a stop. It crawls at under 10mph extremely slow aprox. 90 seconds until the vehicle accelerates. This is extremely dangerous i have been in 3 near accidents due to a lack of acceleration. In addition to the lack of acceleration i now get much lower gas mileage. Prior to the update i was getting 27 mpg, now the best i have gotten was 19mpg. I feel this should be against the law, to purchase a vehicle that get good gas mileage and drives they way it did when i test drove it, which is the reason why i purchasedit. Only for them to completely change my vehicle after the purchase without my permission is to me a bait and switch.

I entered my vehicle 2018ram1500 this morning after it had being stored inside my garage overnight. I sat down, pressed the brake and was about to start it when i noticed the shifter dial was on 'r' and began beeping continuously. I used the ignition button to switch from 'off' "acc" to 'start' and back/forth and pressing on the brake until i was able to shift the transmission to 'p'.once in 'p' i pressed the brake and then started the truck.when i proceeded to move on reverse out of my garage, it began beeping continuously and flashing two messages on the display , "service shifter" followed by "service transmission shut off engine to engage park"then my radio blackout.i could still hear music and was able to control it but there was no display.

Radio in vehicle freezes/locks up preventing use of the radio volume, climate controls and back up camera.screen either locks up or turns blue while backing up, preventing utilization of the back up camera.this issue happens while the vehicle is stationary or in movement.

When my truck ran out of gas in the middle of the freeway off ramp we were unable to push it to the side of the road because the brakes were locked. I had at least five gentlemen offer to help me push it out from blocking the off ramp but we could not because of the locked up brakes. I sat there for 45 minutes being cursed at and honked at because chrysler stupidly thought it is a good idea to have the brakes lock whenever the engine stalls. I called the dealer and they said yes it does that on purpose but agreed it probably a bad feature. This could have been much more dangerous had it stalled on a blind curve or the middle of the freeway. Horrible, horrible idea and very unsafe!

There is a manufacture defect within the uconnect 8.4" screen that causes an adhesive layer to melt and limit the functionality of safety features. A bubble started forming under the screen with the size less than a dime, but has already quadrupled in size since i first noticed it. There is nothing that i can do to make it stop. I have had ghost touches, ranging from drastically reducing and increasing volume, and even having the backup camera turn off because it thinks i'm doing something else. These instances have been rare, but have been starting to become more frequent as the bubble grows larger.i've contacted dealerships and fca customer support, and they both acknowledged that this is a common problem, but will not help since i'm out of warranty. There are hundreds of documented cases of this happening to a wide variety of fca vehicles, with many of them being will under 10,000 miles. I should not have to pay for a manufacture defect because my odometer is higher than others. There are even cases of screens dialing 911 on accident or hanging up phone calls. What if i need to call 911 but am unable to? what if i'm using the backup camera, and it decides to randomly turn off? what if the melting adhesive drips and cause s a critical failure while i'm driving? what if the screen doesn't display the correct info for my parking sensors? these are all issues that should've been addressed long ago, but fca refuses to fix them. There are even class-action lawsuits against fca for uconnect malfunctions right now. These aren't rare occurrences.should i have to wait months, if not years, for a settlement to be made? this issue has plagued fca vehicles since this screen has been implemented, and it is dangerous to let thousands of vehicles run with such an unsafe product that is critical for the vehicle to function properly.

Rear view camera, screen goes blue, or blk or with colored lines and you cant see anything. It does while driving, park & reverse. They have replaced the camera 4 times and still doing it the truck was new & have only had for 2 1/2 years.

The screen housing the backup camera, calls and all components is malfunctioning on its own, the screen will change to backup camera on its on while the vehicle is in motion. It places calls without the phone being attached, calls to sos system out of its own accord, the screen appears to be separated from the rear and to have some sort of loose liquid inside , although it has not been exposed to any. I discussed with the dealer and they have had several complaints. The back up camera going on by itself has already startled me a number of times and i fear will cause me have and accident as i cannot control it and it gives you the impression of being dizzy, alter your perception a lot. It is bound to cause an accident.

I bought my 2018 ram 1500 express crew cab 4x4 a year and 2 months ago.in about a month after purchase i got a star-shaped crack on my windshield.in a few days i slightly hit the windshield with a wiper to remove a snow from it.and that star-shaped crack suddenly went all way through the windshield, from side to side.i replaced the windshield with the oem mopar one, identical to the factory one.a few days ago i was driving through a little town where i work, maintaining the speed of 30 mph due to the limit.suddenly i heard something (very far from significantly heavy) hit my windshield.i've got a 3-4 inch crack from the bottom right edge (passenger side).i contacted the manufacturer, and it's representative told me to go to the authorized dealer for inspection.the service manager at the dealership showed me there is a tiny, needle tip size rock chip, about a couple inches from the edge on the crack.he said, there's no issue with anything about the windshield itself and stated that i have to replace it on my own.i called back the manufacturer and got the response there's nothing they can do for me in such a case.but as a part of the common sense: if the windshield gets cracked so easily, from the consumer's standpoint there's an obvious manufacturing defect and significant deviation from the defined quality and safety standards.

Ok they in stalled cab vents on trucks so that it would be easyer to close the dorrs problem is they leak my warrranty on my truck went out at 360000 miles so i youtube the problem i am not the only one that has this problem plese help if you can because they will not these vents are not sealed very well

When i was driving on 5/15/21, i smell something rubber burn. After i drove a while, i saw some white smoke coming out under hood passengersite around above right tire. I stop and check, found nothing. When it happen, i also can hear a whistle sound when accelerating. After get home, 5/16, i checked the bottom of car. I found a sensor hanging.on 5/17, i brought it to dealer to fix it. During the trip, the smoke comes out again.

The back up camera goes out and black outs at times.sometimes it looks like a old tv with wavy lines.the drivers window controller,you have the ability to use auto down and auto up.at times, you must hold up on the window switch to make the window go up.the headlights come on when you enter a dark garage and when you pull out they stay on.my vehicle does not have daytime running lights.the headlights will come on during morning with full sunshine. Sometimes there is a very loud knocking coming from the motor .sounds love like a bad valve.

I have a radio that is not operating correctly and according to chrysler there is no fix and/or could never be a fix

The radioscreens are delaminating causingthe buttons to be activated while driving. The radio controls many aspects of the truck. Climate control, hill start assist, headlights on with wipers,even defrost for the windshield , etc. While you are driving the radio scrolls through all the settings turning them off and on at random so you never now how it is set.it will turn the heat on high, turn off the windshield defroster. It seems to be a known problem with all fca vehicles that use this style radio.jessica from fca customer care said they will not help replace this radio once past the 36,000 mile warranty even thought the vehicle is still within the 3 year warranty period. There needs to be a recall to fix these defective radios, it is $1,700 for a new radio and beyond most people's ability to replace out of pocket. So i will have to continue to drive this vehicle as is, unless a recall is issued.thank you for your time.

On thursday july 16, 2020. While changing the rear right flat tire. I removed the flat tire and attempting to lower the spare tire down. The jack broke in half causing the truck to land on the rotor. It was a blessing that i was using the wrong end of the bar that lower the tire. This delayed me from getting the spare. If i had used the correct end of the bar i would been under the vehicle getting the tire off of the cable. The right tail pipe landed on the curb of the parking stall. (you lower the tire from the right side of the bumper so that is where i would have been). I called dodge customer servicei and informed them of the incident. I was instructedbycustomer service to go to the hanford chrysler dodge jeep ram dealer so i can get another jack. (this was the first time that the jack had been used since i purchased the vehicle). Once i arrived at the dealer i was directed to the parts department. I was informed by the parts manager who contacted dodge headquarters that this was under review. I could not get a jack. Also if i did get a jack it would be the same style jack that i almost lost my life from. I informed him i was not comfortable with the same style jack. I wanted to upgrade. He stated he had to wait on your company for approval.i am very disappointed in with the company that a severe safety issue as this one, that almost cause me my lifehave yet to respond. It would be best to inform their customer to insure to take the spare tire off first before jacking up the vehicle.

I was driving down a windy country road and the cruise control engaged itself and set to 90 mph while i was driving about 50-55.cancel did nothing, using the brakes caused them to squeal but the vehicle remained accelerating.i was able to disengage by putting the engine in neutral and using the push button to shut it off.

Cruise engages intermittently when in motion, engages properly 50% of the time, not at all at other times. Problem was first observed at 26,000 miles.

From new, the ram 1500 with the eco diesel engine has had a significant hesitation when cold creating a safety hazard. When i leave work i need to cross a multiple lane highway highway with a speed limit of 55 mph. I could walk across the highway faster then what the truck will cross it.i have the latest software update for engine control that ram is offering. I've taken it to the dealer and contacted ram customer assist about the issue. All i was offered was a few free oil changes.both say there is nothing they can do.i did get the customer assist contact to state she would relay the message to engineering.i will select today's date below as to when this problem happened, but it does it every day it is driven.

Takata recall cruise control only works part of the time. Sometimes works the first time you push the button and sometimes you can push it no matter how hard or soft 50 times and it won't come on at all. No matter the speed your driving.

Driving home from work. Had used cruise control at 70mph on freeway, but had not used it in town.i was decelerating for a stop light, when it turned green.i was probably traveling 15-20mph when i began accelerating again.i heard a click, like a relay or solenoid and the vehicle began to accelerate as if i had hit "resume".last speed preset had been 70mph.i was able to cancel the acceleration by hitting the brakes, but i nearly rear ended the car in front of me.i did not hit "resume" by mistake either, as my hand was not on the steering wheel near the buttons.in further troubleshooting, the cruise will not engage below 25mph.if resume is pushed before passing 25mph (during acceleration), then nothing happens.

The pedal lag while takin off from stop the pedal position frequency isnt consistent loss of mpg completely stock truck eco diesel can even get above 19mpg avg loss of power mpg and pedal lag along with junk emissions that destroy engines therefore have to make more parts or trucks etc using more fuel to power these manufacturing plants

Long lag between the time you step on the accelerator and the when the truck would respond. Created dangerous situation specially merging with fast moving traffic and moving from stop signs. Vehicle would go into limp mode without warning. It was deemed to a lemon and fca bought it back only to resell to someone else.

On occasion the backup camera image in the rear view mirror does not appear/ appears very dark with sporadic colorful pixilation when the vehicle shifts into reverse and while backing up. Rarely the camera image stays displayed on the rear view mirror with the vehicle in drive and in motion until the vehicle is turned off.

Ac is intermittent and does not turn on at times this happens while the vehicle is stationary or moving.wiper blades stopped working completely.

At any given time the driver side auto up mode of the window will not work, the passenger sid eoutside mirror will not fold (electric fold option) the raido at times i am not able to change stations (it freezes up) i get a blue screen on the display at times, the car play at times wont work, the built inauto garage opener on the over head has to be activated several times before the garage door opens (all other openers work on the first try) at times the auto door locks (the door handle button) wont work at times the windshield wipers stsrt when there isn't any moisture (rain) these problems have been going on since i purchased the truck new.

My vehicles has had a 2 recalls and have also taken in for repair. Recently i had to take it for a ticking noise, they found that the ticking noise was due to an exhaust leak on the right exhaust manifold. Every several months there's a new issue found with my vehicle.

On october 18, 2018, after driving our 2018 ram 1500 a short distance on city streets, my son pulled into a parking lot when the left rear tire (goodyear wrangler sr-a, p27560r20) suddenly went completely flat. He had not hit anything, and the tire pressure light just came on prior to the tire going flat.the tires were on the truck when it was purchased new earlier this year, and had approximately 11,000 miles on them. The tire had split along the side wall close to the rim, and could not be repaired. The tire was taken to a dodge dealer, who said the tire wouldn't be covered under any warranty even though nothing had been hit to cause the damage. A claim will be filed with insurance.

Bought new march1, 2018.vibrates and returned to dealer to fix.shop foreman drove and said it was ok.i took him myself and vibration was exactly where i said-at 60 mph plus.dealer balanced tires and said one was off 1//4 of oz.still vibrates as if nothing done.

Re: gooyear warngler sra p275/60/r20. 4 tires problems. 1st tire blew at 45mph, second tire showed split inside, 3rd tire blewat 75mph on freeway caused damage to vehicle. 4th tire took in for slow leak, tech also found tire had 1" bubble stating, tire was separating in the middle of the tread.

Drivers seat belt does not lock in place. Hangs loose around shoulder.
