Swerved to avoid deer in road. Hit a tree head on at approx 50mph. Airbags never deployed. Car reported airbag fault on display immediately after accident. Sheriff and ems both felt airbags should have deployed. *dt*dt

While operating the vehicle in the manner in which is was intended, both the front driver and front passenger airbags deployed without warning, unprovoked by any vehicle upset, etc. The sudden deployment of the airbags while driving down the road caused the driver to briefly lose control and have an accident which totaled the brand new vehicle. The driver sustained a concussion, neck, chest and torso injuries. The vehicle was in a residential neighborhood and was traveling under 20mph at the time of the accident. A police report was made but is not available yet. The officer walked the scene and was able to determine that there was no impact of any sort prior to the accident which would have caused the airbags to deploy. Coasted out of a car wash; engine on, transmission in neutral. After exiting the wash, i applied the brakes and shifted from neutral into drive. The truck accelerated out of control and would not brake. I was able to avoid pedestrians, gas pumps, and the store entrance. I was forced to crash the vehicle against a building to get it to stop. The truck was totaled with heavy front end damage; however, the air bags did not deploy. When i returned home, there as an email from the vehicle's onboard health monitoring system saying that an issue was detected with the air bags, which may not deploy. The email was issued at the time of the accident.*dt*dt*dt

Takata inflatorwas hit in the side, no airbag then truck rolled on side no airbagwhen they rolled truck back over airbags deployed *dsy

Air bags didn't deploy on 2017 ram 1500. Truck is totaled with front end and front corner panel damage, body damage on all sides of vehicle. Hit steering wheel with head causing air bag cover to pop off slightly.

I was in an accident and the air bag light came on after the hit. The impact was on drivers side to middle of the truck and per dodge there was a drivers side fault code for the left side air bag sensor. This was not inspected by them while it was at the shop after informing them what had happened. I was sent home with no explanation of what was wrong with air bags. They seen the pictures of accident and stated they should have deployed. Per chrysler they said to contact dealership to have it inspected and pay the fee. There have been several complaints with this model truck after accidents and airbags never deploying. I had the orc recall done and there was also another issue with the air bags that was not part of the recall and the replaced the airbag system along with computer. This truck is a safety hazard and chrysler is not doing much to accept liability.

My 12 yo daughter hits the dash and now has a concussion. I end up with a disc issue and pinched nerves in my neck. Funny how i pay it get a system fixed and now nothing works. My truck was involved in a head on collision with a guard rail while travelling 55 mph on ky 210.none of the trucks airbags deployed.the right front tire including the rocker arm snapped off the vehicle. This caused the truck to slide across the road hitting the otherguard rail.the truck then slid back across the road and was nearly tipping over when it struck the first guard rail.the truck came to rest on top of the guard rail before tipping over.i did receive injuries which may not have occurred if the air bags had deployed.the accident probably would not have beensevere if the tire had not came off causing the truck to spin hit the guard rail on the other side of the road.

On 1/29/18 at 6:30 am i was in a head on collision with an 18 wheel semi truck and my air bags failed to deploy. This occurred on interstate i75 northbound near exit 98. In motion .msp report number 21-1259-18.the front end of my truck was hit very hard.

I was traveling on an interstate highway when i came upon an accidentinvolving multiple vehicles. I took evasive action and was able to stop completely avoiding the vehicles involved, and just behind one vehicle that was partially blocking the right lane. I was struck from behind which caused the drivers seat to go into a reclining position. My truck was propelled forward with me in a reclining position. I felt a secondary impact, which damaged the front of my vehicle. Because i was in a reclining position,i was unable to control or direct my vehicle. None of the airbags in my vehicle deployed. I somehow pulled myself erect and eventually came to a stop on the inside grassy median of the highway.

#1. With 21k mi. The service airbag system came on.it it stayed on for 5-7 sec and went off.it was intermittent at first but now it has been doing the same 2 or 3 times per minute. #2 the tailgate latch malfunctions at times and the tailgate falls by itself. It has done this while driving and sitting stationary after locking it with the key fob. #3 both front windows are equipped with an auto up feature. This feature has come and home in both front windows. At the time it works but it happens irregularly. #4 the transmission doesn't shift well after coasting as in on the highway. It almost seems to bog down and i have to put some weight on the accelerator to get it to respond. No codes have been thrown for the transmission so far. #5 the knob on the far left drivers vent fell off.

On a 2 lane rural road our front hit the side of another vehicle that pulled out in front of us.the airbags did not deploy.my speed was between 30-40 mph at point of impact.

Failure of air suspension system multiple times while still under warranty, failure of backup camera, failure of other electrical components like front headlight and indoor dome light.

The cruise control accelerated at a huge rate past the desired speed resulting in a hydro plane which caused all sides of the vehicle to impact however only passenger bags deployed not a single driver bag. *dt

On march 2, 2018, as i was stopped on a highway for a car in front of me stopped, with his blinker on and waiting to turn in a driveway, i was rear-ended by someone doing approx. 50 to 55 mph. On impact, my driver's seat broke causing me to lay flat, ripping my grip off the steering wheeland then going into on coming traffic which caused me to head on collide with a chev. Avalanche totaling all three vehicles. I injured my neck, lower and middle back. Also, bruised my shoulder, ribs and upper arm. I have two concerns. I believe there should be better testing of rear-end collisions. I believe if my seat would not have broke, i would have stayed in control of my vehicle possibly preventing my truck going into oncoming traffic. Also, my back and neck would not have received as much whipping motion causing my injuries. My second concern is the airbags not deploying in the head on collision. The avalanche's airbags deployed but mine did not. I wrote chrysler an email reporting the incident and my concerns. They appointed bosch eaa to investigate it the incident and inspect my totaled truck and review the data from my vehicle's computer. Bosch has told me they sent the investigation report to chrysler to review and they will respond to me within the next two weeks. I believe more stricter testing should be done and seats should be improved to avoided seats breaking in collisions causing injury and death to front and rear passengers. These are the reference numbers to my case with chrysler. I have a lot of pictures of the accident scene and vehicles if needed. Thank you.reference number: [xxx]email case number:[xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Every 5 or 10 miles the airbag warning light activates on the dashboard. The warning light does not activate while the vehicle is not in motion however if it is activated and then the vehicles put into park shut off and restarted the warning light will remain onfor anywhere from one mile to a hundred miles then shut off and another 5 or 10 miles later turn back on

I was in a vehicle accident may 28, 2021 in my 2017 ram 1500 on my way to my sons very important medical appointment in ann arbor.it was raining horribly and the roads were pretty slick.we were going about 60mph with the rest of traffic due to the visibility.i was rear ended by a hit and run driver in the left lane which caused my vehicle to hydro plane into the right lane where my vehicle hit a steel guard rail and i was then t-boned by an oncoming vehicle in the right lane.my vehicle then did a complete 360.my vehicle was struck twice by two different vehicles and also hit a guardrail, none of my vehicles airbags went off.i was a back seat passenger and seat belted in.i. Suffered a bad whip lash.i went to the emergency room a few days later because the pain was unbearable.my 1 month old son was in the vehicle as well as his father.thankfully my son was in a car seat and the seat belts worked and was wearing one, my injuries could have been worse.because the air bags did not go off, my car may not be considered as totaled.when picking up my vehicle from the tow service, there was a newer model ford f150 same size vehicle and similar damages as my truck, all of that vehicles air bags went off.why didnt mine?i have attached my 2017 ram 1500 photos as well as the ford f150 photos to show the similar damages to both vehicles with one vehicles air bags failing to go off and one did not.

The contact owns a 2017 ram 1500. The contact stated that the back up camera malfunctioned and the display was blurry. The vehicle was taken to several dealers, including thurston chrysler dodge jeep ram (707-468-8584, located at 4 thurston way, ukiah, ca 95482), but the technician was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where the camera was replaced, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the dealer to file a "star report". The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 5,200.

Power steering motor failure while driving. Steering wheel would lock while turning and in motion at city speeds - less than 45mph. Highway speeds ~70 mph. Total intermittent loss of vehicle control while in motion. Engine would shut off momentarily, loss of all electrical systems, transmission would not shift, steering wheel would lock.

Truck still under warenty has less than 13,000 miles. 7 different times car won't start.have had to get it towed to dealership 3-4 times.each time it's repaired a different electrical computer code is stated as the problem. This has happened in parking lots, our driveway and at a light (car would not go)! very dangerous . Started to happen 3 months after we bought the truck.happens every 30-60 days.

On 09/07/2017, i was backing up my vehicle in a tight spot at my condo parking garage. I pulled forward and shifted the electronic gear selector to "park" so i could get out of the vehicle and check the clearance. When i was half way out the vehicle it started backing up but fortunately i was able to jump back in without physical injury. The vehicle however sustained $2000 to $3000 estimated damage to the rear end when it slammed into a large water pipe in the garage. About a week later i was checking the shift selector to see if i could duplicate the problem. It would not duplicate the exact same problem but once when i tried to shift it to "park" it went into reverse" but would not move when you took your foot off the brake pedal even when i pressed the gas pedal. Unfortunately i did not have my phone with me to video the incident. I have taken the vehicle to my local dealer and they said they they could find no "codes" or problems at this time. I am taking it into a body shop for repair next week and will know the exact damage and cost. I will also try to duplicate the problem again and i definitely will have video capability at that time.

As soon as i hit over 36,000 miles, i been having trouble with door locks. Some doors lock and unlock. Sometimes they all work fine. It is very random. Using the key fob and power lock button in car is working randomly. I have read online this has been an issue for many years.

Fuel level sensor unit in the gas tank went out causing fuel guage to indicate there's an empty tank. This electonic sending unit went bad at 45,824 miles. I'm reading about dozens of these units having to be replaced on this model truck. The unit developed a dead spot which stops sending a signal when the tank reaches about 3/4 full. Then once fuel level drops to about 1/4 full the electronic signal becomes functional again and the gas guage works again.

After sitting overnight, the truck wouldn't start. After charging 12 hours it starts but will not restart after shutting down. Obd p1df3 code. Research shows many of the same complaint. Just purchased 6 months ago.

Multiple episodes of vehicle codes disabling truck, all related to 'service electronic throttle control' message.this has caused loss off power with vehicle stalling on mountain highway, major safety issue.other times vehicle has scary delay in throttle response causing nerve wracking moments trying to merge or operate vehicle safely.vehicle purchased new, problems began with only 1500 miles on vehicle. Four times to dealer for service hasn't resolved issue.

Vehicles reverse parking assist sensor failed creating a backing hazard. While backing almost hit someone. Dealer stated sensors needed to be wiped clean.the parking assist front and back fail in freezing weather when moisture gets in them. They were totally clean and just use this as excuse.also key fob and keyless start failed. All failures were captured on video and dealer states unable to duplicate concern.

While driving the radio (u connect) keeps shutting off and losing signal

In two occasions, the vehicle speed locked on and the vehicle began accelerating out of control.the dash message lit up stating electronic throttle control service. A quick internet search shows it is a common problem. I know many ram owners who have the exhaust manifolds break repeatedly.both aresevere problems.

Vehicle will start and rev up high and then immediately shutdown or will be driving and vehicle will shut down and lock everything up causing vehicle to slide. The vehicle was sent back to dealership to have the problem fixed but is still doing the same thing.

Door locks -video recorded problem sent to dealer - a few months ago dealer could not replicate the problem doors not unlocking or locking with fob or door switches. Since then occurred numerous times, but didnot want another fruitless trip to the dealer. On and off now the doors will not unlock with fob or hand door sensor. After a few minutes the door will unlock allowing access.

For the second time in about a year my truck has given the error code of "service electronic throttle control." i took it in and was told it was a computer update and it was fixed. Right at about a year later, the same error code appeared. With this error, power to the vehicle is reduced causing safety issues as your ability to maintain speed or accelerate is greatly diminished. I do not know if the part itself was inspected during the original service and computer update. There were no warning lamps or symptoms prior to the error message coming up on the instrument cluster.

The contact owns a 2017 ram 1500. The contact stated that the recall notice for nhtsa campaign number: 18v332000 (electrical system, vehicle speed control) was received in june of 2018. The local dealer (larry h. Miller chrysler jeep dodge ram boise, 222 auto dr., boise, id) informed the contact that the parts needed to repair the recall were not available. The manufacturer was not notified. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

Bumper parking distance sensors read false distance issues when wet, shutting system off automatically, giving driver false sense of safe distance

Sometimes the truck won't recognize the key fobs. Truck instrument panel will continue to display key fob has leftthe vechile and the chime continue to sound even tho i have the key fob in my possession. I can put the vechile in gear and drive but instrument panel will continue to display key fob has left the vechile and the chime won't stop sounding. (i have videos and pictures of this issue) . Also when i used the speed control at a steady speed and than use the cruise control to reduce the speed when i come to a complete stop and press the gas pedal again the transmission shift differently. The transmission delay shifting engagement . (there was a recall on my vechile for the cruise control and at the moment my truck is in the dealer getting the recall done , transmission shifting problem looked at and getting the key fob electrical problem fix. Dealer tech is trying to fix the problem . A request was made to corporate engineers for assistants fixing the problem. Dealer and engineers are working together trying to figured the key fob problem.vechicle mileage approximately 11400.

Takata recall.in the winter months there are a host of electrical problems. At times, the radio will not tutn off after i shut off the vehicle. The only fix was yo disconnect the battery. The backup camera goes completely green also.the air suspension fails several times per week during the winter months as well. I have it parked outside all the time.

Truck with 3.0l diesel engine.vehicle has twice (during first 6,000 miles) shown error message "service electronic throttle control" and truck has been disabled.first time was driving on mountain highway with heavy commute traffic when truck could not maintain any speed and struggled get truck safely off road.with multiple occurences with brand new vehicle it is a safety issue.

The vehicle worked fine one day. When i went outside the next morning to go to work, all power came on but the vehicle would not start, will not turn over, will not click. Tried to jump start and the same thing happens. I am active duty army and deploying soon. We have a special needs daughter and my wife needs the vehicle to take my daughter to her therapies. The battery is in excellent working condition. Battery terminals are without corrosion and appear brand new.

The vehicle was stationary. Went to put the key in ignition and turn on. Truck would not start, not even turn. Tried jumping it and nothing worked. Having to get a whole new key ignition assembly done on it. Have read up on it and this has happened to many people. The truck won't lock or run. There are 83,000 miles on it and nothing prior to this has happened. The wheel will not turn or go into neutral. The lights inside do work so it is not the battery. Having to send to a mechanic and all parts have been ordered as they identified it was the ignition module that went out. He said it happens a lot to dodges.

2017 ram 1500 - vehicle's electronic controlled locking tailgate fails to secure when vehicle is put in motion allowing tailgate to fall open while vehicle is in motion.vehicle was purchased with 14k miles and currently has 23k miles. Tailgate has fallen on 9 occasions in the 6 months/9k miles i have owned the vehicle. Also potential to occur while vehicle is parked. Fiat-chrysler was contacted on 24 january 2018 and affirmed they have no technical service bulletins (tsbs) or recalls on this issue to date. However, internet research revealed "numerous" complaints in forums and videos on this occurring on 2013 - 2017 models. Some complainants indicate dealerships not aware or unable to deduce cause. Further internet research indicates a faulty tailgate actuator assembly, (a metal tab on assembly which serves as a lever-stop which allows tailgate to secure is breaking off of assembly plate and preventing full engagement of the locking mechanism between tailgate and bed). Some complaints reviewed online indicate dealers replaced locking tailgate actuator assembly (in applicable cases, under mfr warranty) and the matter was resolved.problem creates potential for losing cargo while in motion, falling tailgate striking a person, causing structural damage, or, being such a volatile occurrence due to weight of tailgate, alarming an unsuspecting driver diverting attention, causing panic and possible accident. Fiat-chrysler customer service rep recommended on 25 january 2018, that i, as the customer, file a compliant with nhtsa.

The contact owns a 2017 ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving 65 mph and driving over a bump in the roadway, several unknown warning lights illuminated and the windshield washer activated independently. The vehicle was pulled over and restarted and resumed normal operation. The contact stated that the failure recurred 3 times. The vehicle was not taken to be diagnosed nor repaired. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer were notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 60,000.

Yeah i started with the screens in my dash going dark they could not figure out what the issue was so now it's gotten to where the whole dashboard and the whole everything dies or shuts down. The engine shuts off the front of the vehicle drops down as if you're slammed on your breaks you can feel the pull the transmission as if that's what's slowing me down. Then it hits right back within seconds in the whole vehicle all the lights come on everything everything i'm so bright it almost blind you and then all sudden everything calm down you're back to normal in the picture i sent is what the screens look like afterwards it looks like well you'll see.doesn't matter what speed what area road conditions it just happens random intervals. What is the scare me the most are at 70 miles an hour you have no power no nothing to start locking up and starts back up it has something to do with the sensors they don't know exactly what it is but i can't get it fixed. It's about the scariest thing having your vehicle shut down at 60 to 70 miles an hour quite often.i've talk to other people with the same condition. It's over the three years has gotten progressively worse and they will not do anything about it. And they do know that it is an issue because they have an update for some of the issues so they are aware of this allowing people to die out there.

While driving my eps will have an intermittent loss if power.

The contact owns a 2017 ram 1500. While driving the vehicle, the contact was made aware that the headlights and rear passenger side tail lights failed to illuminate. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred numerous times. The vehicle was taken back numerous times to the same dealer. In addition, the contact stated that the vehicle stalled without warning. The contact coasted the vehicle to the side of the road and had it towed to priority chrysler dodge jeep ram of salisbury (located at 158 elm st, salisbury, ma 01952, (978) 961-3300) where it was diagnosed that the battery failed and needed to be replaced. Dodge ram electronic gear shifter. The vehicle was parked and the engine was left running on a city street. Our driver got off the vehicle to close the garage door. On return to the vehicle the vehicle was rolling back. The door was left open when getting off vehicle to close the garage. The door hit the first car on its way rolling back and bent the door all the way to the other side. The vehicle then rolled back and hit the last vehicle. This just happened 11/12/18 the owner of the vehicle didn't want to involve the police since the neighbor knew where driver lived

When backing into garage on 5/24/20 ram 1500 quad cab steering locked in one position and vehicle accelerator went to the floor. Vehicle accelerated quickly backwards into my garage wall and damaged the garage wall, garage door, and vehicle.i was able to stop the vehicle prior to it hitting the back of the garage and going into my house. The vehicle steering was still locked and the vehicle would not go back into gear. Had the vehicle towed to the dealership.

The engine the lifters sound and cancel the cylinders and the radio does not turn on and does not work, the air conditioning, windows, lights etc

On november 9, 2019, at approximately 12:pm, i was at my area's atm, sitting still, when all of a sudden the truck just turned off, without warning and i had to get it towed home by my aaa service

The contact owns a 2017 ram 1500. While driving between 35-75 mph, "service shifter" appeared on the instrument panel and all of the warning indicators illuminated. In addition, the trailer hitch and electrical system failed. The vehicle was towed to lithia dodge ram (301 n. Earl rudder fwy, bryan tx 77802) where it was diagnosed that one of the electrical sensors got wet underneath the vehicle. The vehicle was repaired and a new sensor was installed; however, the failure later recurred. The vehicle was repaired four times for the same failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failures. The failure mileage was 21,000.*as

I was pulling out into fast oncoming highwaycross traffic when i lost all accelerating power. Traffic had to swerve around me and i narrowly avoided being struck multiple times before i could get off to the side of the road. There had been no prior warnings of this failure. At the dealership i was told the control module for the accelerator had failed and they had to reprogram it. Being that i could have been killed, i felt this failure should be reported to you.

I have replaced the batteries in both key sets.when you hit the button to unlock the doors only the driver door unlocks. You now have to have a key in the ignition before the other doors willunlocked including the tailgate.

The vehicle could be restarted after removing the ignition key and re-inserting it. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer thompson dodge (2158 washington rd. Thomson, ga) who was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 30,000.

Fuel pump module assembly failure.has been failing over past 3 months, now totally off.unable to know amount of fuel in tank.have been told by the dealer it is a common problem with this truck and a safety concern.vehicle has less than 36,000 miles on it.ram should issue recall as potential for stranded vehicle is great.

The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.

Failure of air suspension system multiple times while still under warranty, failure of backup camera, failure of other electrical components like front headlight and indoor dome light.

Have had multiple electrical issues regarding interior and exterior lights since purchasing new. Taken to dealer unable to replicate the issue's, had recall fixed for shifter knob. Additional issues with the keyless remote not locking or unlocking all the doors or latches. Newest electrical issue is a short in the rambox wiring causing a fire while traveling down the road. Completely burned and destroyed wiring in rear of rambox burned through the plastic and warped the box door.

My dodge truck was in park in my drive way and rolled backward into the pond

I have a 2017 ram 1500 ecodiesel. I was driving down the highway at 70mph when the vehicle suddenly starting making a crazy noise then begin to loose power, i steered the truck onto the shoulder where immediately white smoke starting bellowing from underneath the front and sides of the engine compartment i opened the hood but no flames were visible and it eventually went out. I had the vehicle towed to the nearest dealer and three weeks later they now tell me that the problem is the egr cooler leaking which apparently is a known and dangerous problem.

I bought this truck and brought it home and was going through everything and found out that the oil didnt even reach the dipstick and it took 4 quarts to fill it up. I then checked everything else and made sure it was fine. I drove the truck for the next 3 days on and off the interstate and highway driving. I was attempting to go to my dr.s office in cartersville, ga. And i was going about 55 mph down the road and suddenly the check engine light came on and the vehicle limped its way to a parking lot to which i shut it off and then started it back up and it seemed good enough to get it to the dealership there and they pulled codes and said that the oil pump isnt getting enough oil and it was less than a quart. It used up 4 quarts in that time. I cant trust this to goto tennessee with this going on. Does anyone else have this problem? this is piss poor engineering on the part of fca to build a engine that uses that much oil and at $9 a quart ill be broke before the end of the month

Concern #1:intermittently, upon initial start up, the engine makes a loud clattering noise as if it has no oil in it.the dealership was able to duplicate the concern once but it is not bad enough to repair.concern #2:while coming to a slow rolling stop (as if coming to a known stop sign) there is a hard bang/clunk just before getting to a complete stop, it feels like you are being hit in the rear by another car.as you slowly accelerate it bangs/clunks again hard.the bang can be felt and heard, and only happens on slow stops, not when you have to stop quickly. The vehicle is currently at the dealership for the third time regarding this same concern.the dealership reprogrammed the transmission and a transmission valve body was replaced but it has not fixed the concern.this bang is so bad that it is hard that i fear driving it in stop and go traffic.

The contact owns a 2017 ram 1500. While driving at an unknown speed, the check engine indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who found failure codes: p0402 and p20ee. The failure recurred and the contact was informed to call the dealer. The contact was unaware of nhtsa campaign number: 19v757000 (engine and engine cooling). The vehicle was taken to wilson motors (541-286-7610, located at 425 n w buchanan, corvallis, or 97330-6253), but the parts were not available for the repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and was not able to confirm when the parts were to become available. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 39,500. Vin tool confirms parts not available.

The bolts that hold the exhaust manifold to the engine are breaking leading to a loud "tick" and exhaust gasses being released in the engine compartment. Exhaust leaks can be dangerous while the vehicle is occupied especially when idling. This has been an ongoing issue with the hemi engine in ram trucks as evidenced by multiple nhtsa complaints spanning over a decade. Ram has yet to correct the issue and continues to produce vehicles with the same problem. Mechanics talk about it being common, many forums are filled with complaints and websites are dedicated to the issue. My particular truck was inspected by the dealership and i was told it was "a common occurrence with those engines". I'm fine with having to pay the $500 repair bill to correct it, but i feel it should be a recall due to the commonality of the problem and the possibility of a driver or passenger being exposed to exhaust gasses not being properly routed to the rear of the truck. Why are they allowed to keep rolling a known problem off of the assembly line? maybe this explains headaches after a long drive.

The lifters in my 3.6 liter ram 1500 are bad at 80000 miles.this is the same problem reported with this engine in 2011-2013 dodge vehicles.dodge knows this is still a problem because they lowered the powertrain warranty from 100000 miles to 60000 miles.they have not fixed the issues with the 3.6 liter engine.they need to be investigated and made to make appropriate repairs.

The contact owns a 2017 ram 1500. While the vehicle was parked, there was a knocking noise coming from the front passenger side of the motor. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The contact powered off the engine. The vehicle was restarted, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was later taken to susquehanna chrysler dodge jeep ram (located at 950 hellam st, wrightsville, pa 17368, (717) 401-4005) where it was diagnosed that the lifter needed to be replaced. The vehicle was in the process of being repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 29,650.

The contact owns a 2017 ram 1500 cargo van low. The contact stated that while parked at a parking lot with the vehicle turned off, without warning a couple of hours later the vehicle was up in flames. No police report was made. The fire department extinguished the flames. The vehicle was deemed destroyed. No medical attention was contacted. There was a fire report made. The vehicle was towed by a independent towing company to a lot. The contact stated that 5 days before he had a dealer change his oil. The dealer bruce chevrolet collision center 1084 sw oak st, hillsboro, or 97123 (503)-619-8349 was made aware of the failure but no informed the contact to contact dodge manufacturer for further assistance. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 22,000., oil change was only a week old. Ck. *dt *dt*dtconsumer stated the driver side headlight went out back in november, this is the only open hood picture i had. The flames i saw flickering just off center of the engine. Between the wipers coming through the same grill on the top. Just a few inches near the passenger side of the engine. Just before the windshield exploded and i jumped our of the inferno. Like that little white thing... On the engine. The fire destroyed everything.consumer stated this was not a crash as my vehicle fought fire while sitting cold for 8 hours prior to the mysterious fire in theengine section. This was only a fire. No crash caused this. Dodge/parts caused this.

This involves a 2017 ram ecodiesel with 15,500 miles. The eco diesel started to make a rattling sound as i was driving straight at interstate speed and then a loud bang.i lost all power to the truck as the engine cut off while i was on the highway.it was a very dangerous situation as i was in the middle lane and had to get over to the side with out power and brakes.thedealership has stated it was a cam issue and that they would need to take the cab off the truck to diagnose the engine.all i can say is the truck only has 15,500 miles on it and this was a serious safety issue for myself and my family that was on board.i did some research on line and there seems to be numerous examples of early engine failure in both grand cherokees and ram trucks.ram is still at the dealership being evaluated. Consumer stated he replaced the entire engine and was without the vehicle for 34 days, updated 10/11/18*dt

3 bolts holding dpf and scr together are known to fail and cause issues to the def wiring harness. All three bolts have failed on my truck which could cause the exhaust to fall apart while driving. The problem has not been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent center. The vehicle has not been inspected by anyone. The "check engine light" displayed and shortly there after a message popped up that vehicle would not restart in 200 miles. Still waiting to hear back from 1 of 4 dealerships about this issue and have since opened a case with fca/ram and have not heard from them either. Truck has not been drivable for 4 days now.

The contact owned a 2017 ram 1500. While driving 65 mph with the cruise control activated, the vehicle made an abnormal revving noise and began to slow down. The contact also stated that the throttle sensor warning indicator began to flash intermittently. The contact pulled the vehicle over to the side of the road, checked under the hood, and noticed flames coming from the engine compartment. The contact called 911 and the police and fire departments arrived on the scene. The fire was extinguished. Police report number: al0630200 and fire report number: 0001218 were filed at the scene. The vehicle was destroyed and towed to a junk yard. Carlock chrysler dodge jeep ram of tuscaloosa (550 skyland blvd e, tuscaloosa, al 35405, 205-759-4421) and the manufacturer were notified of the failure. The contact received an email for nhtsa campaign number: 19v757000 (engine and engine cooling), which was associated with his vehicle after the fire occurred. The failure mileage was 43,539. *dt

Noticed at 40k miles there is issue with tie rod ends joints become loose may cause accident reported this to a dealership they trying to brush me off bs that there is issue with rockers and lifters in the engine and exhaust manifold studs are snapping causing exhaust to leak and become louder that's a emission issue also

When the vehicle is cold the engine has a significant power lag and 'dead pedal' when you accelerate from a stop.it creates a significant risk as there is no power to accelerate and avoid oncoming cars or dangerous situations.oven when pedal is all the way depressed the vehicle fails to accelerate.

Why driving my 2017 ecodiesel truck with 38,500 miles on it, on highway 80 about 55 to 60 miles per hour my truck lost power. My wife notice smoke coming from the back passenger side tire thats the same place my exhuast tail pipe is on this truck,my first thought was i over heated when i lost power but that was not the case my temp was 208 degrees. The truck was still running but with no power i managed to get it over the bridge put the truck in neutral and coasted to the stop light at the end of the off ramp, when we stop at the light smoke was coming out from underneath the hood amassing the truck still running i put though the enter section pulled over shut the truck off everyone got out of the truck smoke pouring out from under the hood and fender wells, called 911. The truck is a total lose. With fca having a recall on the egr cooler an no fix this is a problem. In the recall it states if the egr cooler failsit could cause a fire.

After ecm reflash, now the vehicle will not accelerate for 3 seconds with engine cold. No power until delay time has passed then itll accel. Once engine is at operating temp it drives normally. This only started since the latest ecm and tcm reflashes were performed.

Vehicle engine caught fire and lost power before.

This vehicle has terrible pedal lag. When i press the accelerator, there is a 2-6 second lag response to accelerate. While moving forward and pressing the accelerator, when the lag catches up to the accelerator it's like it kicks into high gear (jerks) and advances. Taking off from a stopped position is the worse because it's frighting - you don't know how long the lag will take to recover. When in motion at highway speed and accelerating to pass someone, the lag does the same thing. It happens all the time, unless you accelerate very slowly, and keep your speed slow. I've driven this truck for 13 months now. The dealer said the problem will go away as you drive it ..well, it hasn't.

Fuel sensor has failed at 42000 miles while in motion. Lifters havemade bad noise since new, dealership has replace lifters but noise is still there intermittently while sitting still on start up

Took delivery of new 2017 dodge ram 1500 and two days later towed my boat (18') to launch to go fishing.stopped on ramp leading to water with engine running and put in park to unhook boat from trailer.when i let me foot off brake, the vehicle started slowly creeping backwards to the water.i was stunned and hit brake again and then applied emergency brake.i have done this at least a hundred times with other vehicles and never has one not held in place on the ramp and i have never used my emergency brake.upon completion of unhooking boat, i then could not figure out how to release emergency brake as it is not marked well.got out of vehicle and noticed a symbol on the plastic above the foot pedal.lifted up and it released the emergency brake and again vehicle started backing up into the water.i had to immediately jump in the truck and hit the brakes just in time as it hit the water.i have reviewed this issue and it appears to be focused on 2013 - 2016 model years.however, this is a brand new 2017.i can attest that the knob was 100% in the park position when this happened and my father and son witnessed this event.i have an appointment tomorrow at dealership but service manager was not aware of any issues or potential fix.i am guessing we could duplicate the problem on the boat ramp in the future.this is incredibly dangerous and i cannot have a vehicle that cannot stay in place while parked!

While driving down highway, check engine light and electronic throttle control service light displayed. Exited highway, drove 1-2 miles more and engine was smoking with smoke entering the cabin.exited the truck at a safe location. Used hood release in cabin but did not open hood because i saw flames through grille.used fire extinguisher but it just slowed the fire did not put it out. Fire consumed the engine and hood.the fire department came and put out fire.

I have received 2 safety recall letters concerning the diesel egr cooler on my 2017 ram 1500. I have called multiple dealers and they all have the same answer. We can't schedule any repair because we are not able to order the part. In a conversation with fca recall assistance they acknowledge that the dealers are restricted on the number of parts they can order. This is not a new recall and fcas lack of responding over the course of 6 months is just plain wrong. Why issue a recall if they can't and won't provide the parts? no help given by the fca assistance staff. "we can't do anything"

Dissapointed with the purchase of 17 ram 1500, truck looks good and has great looks . It has a tapping/ticking noise when its at idle at a standstill, its called the dreaded hemi tick, i have a 5.7 motor with mds, there is many threads and complaints about this on the internet. My truck only has 500 miles and should not have any kind of tapping/ticking noises coming from the engine, mostly noticed from drivers side from the wheel well . The dealer says its normal and that they cant hear it when i bring it in, i should drive and wait for first service to have checked out .second issue is that the pressure flaps in the rear of the cabare always making noise when driving, you can hear them flapping when you brake or when you take off . I want my money back .

The contact owns a 2017 ram 1500. While the vehicle was stationary, it failed to accelerate immediately when the accelerator pedal was depressed. The cause of the failure was not determined. Towbin dodge (275 auto mall dr,henderson, nv) was notified of the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 30,000.

Egr has a problem. Which may cause a fire and mopar doesn't have a fix for it .they don't know when they will.i want to trade it for a gas powered instead of the diesel and they will not take it on trade.if they would they won't give me any where close to what the pickup would be valued.it seems that the problem is their problem and they should not penalize their own customers.it is really not safe to drive it if it has the symptoms it has as to fire.it is a on going problem as they didn't tell me when i purchased the vehicle.sounds like boeing???

Exhaust odor leaking into the cab when idling at a stationary position. This happens every time when the vehicle is parked and running.

This is a known recurring issue on dodge rams.on the right side of the motor the bolts holding the exhaust manifold to the head snap off and create an exhaust leak.this is a safety issue due to possible asphyxiation!i called in to register a complaint and i don't think it was coded as a safety issue!dodge continues to ignore the problem and make consumers pay.this started 5-6 years ago when they downsized the bolt.

Had been experiencing transmission warning lights but engine didn't produce any codes.i took to 2 different dealers and they said nothing we could do about sensor problems until code appears.while driving at night about a half mile from home my truck shut down.my engine turned offand lost my steering, lights, and dash lights.the only thing that remained on was the fully illuminated 8' radio command center and gear select knob.the satellite radio remained playing but couldn't adjust volume.i luckily pulled to side of road. I couldn't restart vehicle to move it.i then took my key fob and locked and opened the truck.the lights flashed and was able to restart vehicle to move.i immediately called roadside assistance to have it towed to dealer. During the time of turning vehicle back on the dash displayed a check engine light.i then received a vehicle identification report emailed to me that engine/transmission service needed.this incident with a new truck with 23,000 miles is very concerning in losing power, lights and steering.the problems stated were over a month ago as noted with pictures

Vehicular hesitated to select gear and to accelerate.this has concerned me when in traffic when you expect it to accelerate this is an on going issue no

Trying to obtain a fix for the safety recall regarding the diesel egr cooler vb1 from october 2019 that has taken way too long. I have made multiple attempts to contact multiple ram dealerships and the there is a wait list for the part. Meanwhile i continue to drive a truck that has the potential risk of fire to the occupants in my truck or my home. This is unacceptable and i ask that the ntmvsa push ram to make this part available immediately or have them recall the truck entirely.

At approximately 6100 miles noted engine ticking noise only on cold start up.took to dealer for repair and they found a number of broken exhaust manifold bolts (they replaced 9 of them).according to dodge forums and the dodge dealership this apparently is a common problem with ram semi engines.

Engine noise when starting after sitting overnight

The exhaust manifold bolt on the passenger side have broken off after 50,000 miles after normal wear and tear. Such has highway and city driving. This vehicle has never towed a trailer or overheated. This has caused exhaust fumes to enter the cab when vehicle in on and stopped at stop lights or other times when stopped and on. There is wiring close to the exhaust manifold and iā€™m afraid the hot exhaust may cause the wiring to catch fire or melt while driving causing a catastrophic failure while driving. Iā€™m afraid for my life and others who have this issue.

The contact owns a 2017 dodge ram 1500. The contact stated that on several occasions while driving at various speeds, the check engine warning light illuminated and the vehicle lost forward momentum. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 19v757000 (engine and engine cooling) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The vehicle was taken to greenville chrysler jeep dodge located at (5401 interstate hwy 30, greenville, tx 75402, (903) 454-0283) where it was confirmed that parts were not available. The contact was also informed that the coolant reservoir was low on coolant. The contact was informed by the dealer that the vehicle should not be driven due to a possible fire risk without warning.. The manufacturer was not contacted or informed of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 83,000.

June 1st, was driving on the highway at approx. 65mph, the truck started to make a loud noise, reved real high, then lost all power and low oil pressure message came on. At the time of the incident the truck had around 57,000 miles on it. Truck was dead on the side of the highway. It was towed to grieger's ram (valparaiso,in) where is start for over a month without being looked at and no rental was offered.the vehicle was then towed to david taylor's ram (michigan city,in) where it was looked at within a few days. They deemed that it needed a new engine due to internal engine failure. The new engine has been ordered but will not be here until at least september.

My truck, 2017 ram 1500 ecodesiel, has been loosing coolant and i located the recall on the egr cooler, nhtsa recall 19v-757.on 3/31/2020, i contacted glockner dodge dealer in ashland ky.they told me the recall was a computer flash update and they would not replace the egr cooler.i then contacted fca us, recall department after i spoke to the dealership.told her the issue i was having and was told, if i was having egr cooler issues the dealership could repair and/or replace in accordance with the recall.then she told me to get my truck to a dealership to have them look at it.i contacted pure country dealership in grayson ky.i took my truck to them on 4/1/2020 at 0900.end result, receipt shows no external leaks found but may be related to recall.however, i'm told that a replacement part is not available.i contacted fca us, recall department again.now i'm told that there is no replacement part available and they don't know why the previous rep told me that the dealership could fix it.they say my claim is submitted to a specialist for review.my fca us claim number is76030552.1) why have a recall if it cannot be fixed? 2) it has been approximately 6 months since the recall was issues, and still no viable solution to the problem? 3) fca us admits that vehicle fire can occur due to egr defect.so i'm driving around, what a time bomb.4) who is responsible if a fire would occur and my children are injured? 5) apparently, fca us sold vehicles to us customers that they cannot fix. 6) how long will nhtsa permit these vehicles to be on the road, safety hazard of fires? or how long will nhtsa give fca us to fix the issue?is it optional for fca us to comply with the recall or not?

The sluggish turbo has been an issue and this all happened while leaving out church parking lot heading home. It is at seth wadleys in pauls valley, ok as i type this awaiting if my extended warranty will pay for this! was told this was is a issue with the eco diesels and a recall was just sent out for models up to '16. Leaving my '17 with the same issue out!

The contact owns a 2017 ram 1500. While driving 70 mph, the check engine warning indicator illuminated and the vehicle failed to accelerate past 30 mph. Tri-lives motors (180 state hwy f, branson, mo 65616, (417) 334-7543) diagnosed the vehicle and found code numbers: p0299 (supercharger underboost) and p2459 (diesel particulate filter regeneration frequency). The codes were reset and the master air flow was replaced. The contact was informed to drive the vehicle. After driving 100 miles, the check engine warning indicator illuminated. The contact called the same dealer and was informed to drive the vehicle and take it to a nearby dealer if it lost power. The vehicle was taken back to the same dealer for diagnostic testing and the same codes appeared. The technician reset the code and informed the contact that there was no remedy. The vehicle was taken to corwin dodge of springfield (located at 1025 w sunshine st, springfield, mo 65807, (417) 862-9272) for a buyback. A master air sensor was replaced, but the vehicle was still not repaired and remained at the dealer. The contact stated that the failure recurred every month since the vehicle was purchased. Thevehicle was taken to several unknown dealers in different states where the codes were reset; however, the failure continued. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and provided case number: 58629945. The approximate failure mileage was 155,000.

We have a recall from last year that they say they have no idea when or if it will or can be fixed on our 2017 ram 1500 eco dieseldue to the safety hazard (fire/explosion) of this recall andthat they have had plenty of time to fix it, we asked for a loaner vehicle until ours could be fixed.the dealer refused.since it's been at least 6 months with no repair in sight, we decided to trade it in on a new ram.the dealer offered us $12,000 less than we still owe on the recalled ram due to the recall that can't be fixed!we are stuck paying for a dangerous lemon and believe they should be made tobuy it back for what we still owe.please help!!

I own subject 2017 ram ed truck. Oct 25, 2019, fca issued a new safety recall advance communication re the eco diesel vb1 recall matter.december 2019, i received my first communication from fca on vb1.may 2020 i received a second letter on vb1, imploring me to take my truck a dealer and obtain the repair.i have been in contact with several dealers to obtain the repairs, and they advised me that they do not have parts available to do the repair.most recent dealer contact was late july, 2020.i have not received any notice from fca, as promised that the remedy is available.fca has put me in a position of risking an engine fire every time i use the truck, i can not sell the truck to a dealer due to the outstanding recall, and am at risk of cal dmv declining the license plate renewal in december this year.this unreasonably slow response by fca to this serious issue is immoral and unconsionable.please demand immediate action of fca to provide all the parts to their dealer network to fix this problem.i am using this truck nly when absolutely necessary, and am blocked from selling the truck.

The passenger side exhaust manifold bolts are breaking. It is happening to many ram truck owners and to some people it is happening more than 3 times. So when you start your very expensive truck it makes an awful loud ticking noise on the passenger side of engine due to exhaust bolts being broken on the manifold and hot exhaust leaking out. This noise usually happens with the first start of the day. But as more bolts continue to break the noise is there more and more.

On 7/16/2021 i was driving my truck when with no warning at all it completely shut off and would not restart and would not let me take the key out. I had to call for a tow truck to pull me out of the drive thru i was stuck at and my truck is currently at my mechanics shop. I was fortunate that this incident took place while moving at a slow speed while in a drive thru at a restaurant.if this had taken place while driving on the freeway or in traffic, i believe i would most likely be dead right now, this was a total shutdown of my truck with absolutely no warning. I called the dealer to advise of the incident and ask if there were any known issues and they were quick to say that only 2018 dodge ram 1500 trucks had this issue and it had to be my battery. Both triple aaa tow truck driver and mechanic shop that currently has my truck have confirmed that the battery is working perfectly and has no issues. I purchased my truck oct of 2017 and i am worried that i might have a faulty computer system. Can someone please investigate this incident, i had my 15 yr old son in the truck with me and as i mentioned before if this had happened on the freeway at 75 mph and it completely shut down this same way, we most likely would have been in a major accident and injured and possibly killed. My mechanic spent the entire day trying to find the problem with the truck but is not able to obtain any error codes from the computer. It seems impossible that my truck can completely shut down with no warning, fail to start, fail to be able to remove the key fob from the ignition and yet there is no error showing in the system.

My truck has a manufacturing date of 11/17 and only has 37k miles on the truck. Randomly my truck went into a "limp mode" and a check engine light for electronic throttle control service light came on. I was driving down university drive in huntsville, al at roughly 45mph accelerating up a small incline. The 'limp mode' is extremely unsafe and restricts the ability to accelerate or drive at a normal pace. Had this happened on the highway or pulling out (what would normally be safe) into traffic and my ability to accelerate was effected it could have caused serious safety concerns. I take my 13-week old daughter to and from daycare in this truck and it has become unsafe.when taken to the dealer, they originally notated that it was just a software update. I late get a call that the egr cooler had gone out, but would not be covered under warranty. The service advisor told me they had 6 other ecodiesel vehicles in for the same issue in the last week. I called the dealer i bought it from and they had one in the shop in for the same exact problem. I then started doing research and found that the egr cooler is a huge issue for these trucks and fca refuses to address it. I called the fca and they eventually agreed to replace the truck on 'good will' after i paid a deductible.fca needs to put a recall on these vehicles and fix the egr issues. Now there are reports that the valves are sticking and causing the egr to cause a fire. Purchasing dealer: university cdjr in rome, gaservicing dealer: landers mclarty cdjr in huntsville, al

When the engine is cold, acceleration from a stop is almost non existent for roughly 3-4 seconds.pulling out in to normal traffic is dangerous as the vehicle does not perform anywhere near the way it does once warmed up.my servicing dealer and chrysler corporate told me that there is a issue with excessive emissions from my 2017 ram 1500 ecodiesel when cold which required them to inhibit fuel flow to the engine until the engine reached a temperature of 157 degrees.this is a serious safety concern as the truck seems to ignore the drivers desire to accelerate.i've come close to being rear-ended on more than one occasion because the truck would not accelerate at more than what seems to be an idol for several seconds. I've owned this truck for about 1.5 years and still there is no solution to correct this problem.it is my hope that federal action will spur a solution to this problem.

In motion, the engine seams to loose power when the transmission kicks down to passing gear for a short time then it picks up power. Feels almost like it takes time for the timing to catch up...... Can you help? it also does it on take off as well

Vehicle will start and rev up high and then immediately shutdown or will be driving and vehicle will shut down and lock everything up causing vehicle to slide. The vehicle was sent back to dealership to have the problem fixed but is still doing the same thing.

This relates to vb1/nhtsa 19v-757. I was advised of this recall months ago by ram, and repeatedly so, each time being told to promptly contact ram and/or dealer to handle this "important safety recall" and that it was "extremely important to take steps now to repair your vehicle to ensure the safety of you and your passengers." i contacted local dealer multiple times over the past months (going backwell into summer if not prior) and was advised that parts were not yet available. I called about two weeks ago to try again as my registration is due and in california there is requirement to show this type of recall is fixed in order to reregister. I set up appointment (through ram and confirmed with dealer) and was just advised that part is still not available. It is evident that ram (fca) is not taking this recall seriously or at least not seriously enough and is apparently content with endangering me, my family and my passengers, if in fact this recall is for a safety-related condition. Can you do something to see that this is being diligently pursued?

Third brake leaks into the cab under the seat through the sound proofing causing mold in the cab. Vehicle has approximately 29k miles and i would not have notice if i did not lift the seat up where i found some of my items with moldy and wet. If not notice if could cause respiratory issues to occupants. The manufacturer and dealer does not want to cover the repairs. Upon further inquiries, many older models had the same problem. This is a serious health hazard.

Driving down a road at 55mph and headlights went out and could not see anything for several seconds as it was night time and it was pitch black. Frantically tried all the light options and turned the light knob all the way to the right and had some light just in time to slam my brakes to not hit a deer. Made it home and checked the lights. High beams worked but both low beams did not. Replaced bulbs and still didn't work. Looked for a fuse/relay but doesn't seem to have one. Auto sensing and low beam does not work, should be a safety recall on tipm or whatever device is malfunctioning.

The gas pump nozzles no longer work when filling up the tank. It seems that they do not like the angle of the fill neck on the truck. They shut off after only about 1/2 gallon is used into the tank.

Having issues when pumping gas, the gas pump stops when fueling the entire time due to the fueling filler neck. If placing the fuel handle properly it locks onto the fuel neck filler and doesnt let fumes exit and chokes up. Beyond difficult to take off and to pump fuel.

The ram dealership has refused to fix my vehicle for safety recall19v-757

I live in ca and after fueling 2017 ram rebel the fuel nozzles has gotten stuck multiple times, i cant even stick the nozzle half ways to fuel because then it clicks and stops fueling. My girlfriend cantborrow the truck in fear that if she tries to pump gas it will get stuck on her too. It really shouldn't be this much of a hassle to pump gas. This always happens when i am trying to pump gas.

With a full fuel tank everything is good. Between 3/4 and 1/2 tank the fuel gauge goes to empty, out of gas light blinks and fuel sensor fail light comes on. 5 minutes later gauge is back to 3/4 tank and fuel sensor fail engine warning still on. Made a few stops and engine fail light goes off. Then it all starts over and over.fuel sensor fail and gauge goes to empty.only 429201 miles. Dangerous defect. Common complaint

Notice vb!/nhtsa 19v-757 received december 2019.advised today by fca fix not available until april 2020 earliest.failure of recalled part, diesel egr cooler, may result in engine fire.unacceptable that replacement part is not immediately available!i have reduced driving this vehicle due to uncertainty.

The contact owns a 2017 ram 1500. While the contact was filling the fuel tank, the fuel nozzle became stuck on the fuel filler neck. The vehicle was taken to grown dodge chrysler jeep ram (located at 6300 king dr, ventura, ca 93003, (805) 918-4485) where it was diagnosed that the fuel filler neck needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the fuel filler neck was previously replaced for the same failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but did not assist. The approximate failure mileage was 98,000.

The fuel sending unit failed on several occasions. The vehicle display would indicate low fuel and the gauge would go to full empty. On the third time it displayed i also got a check ending light. Not knowing if the tank was really empty, i filled and it took 11 gallons for a 26 gallon tank. Dealer indicated code p0463 fuel level sensor failure. Online there are lots of complaints of this happening with less than 50k miles. Why hasn't this become a recall? it is not safe to have sensor fail while driving due to distraction. Not to mention an unnecessary expense for the owner. Ram should have corrected this issue long before the 2017 model year.

My trucks fuel gauge sensor is reading empty even though i have a full tank. Code p0463 . It is from a faulty part/ float on the fuel pump. This is a huge problem in many ram 1500 models and needs to be recalled. Truck stalled and thankfully restarted. I was backing out of a parking spot when this occurred. The dealership knows the issues in the rams but wants me to pay for this safety issue. Have others reported this issue?

I can have a full tank of gas and it will say low gas and the gas light will come on sometimes the check engine light will come on and readfuel sensor error

Fuel sensor has failed at 42000 miles while in motion. Lifters havemade bad noise since new, dealership has replace lifters but noise is still there intermittently while sitting still on start up

Check engine light and fuel sensor warning and loss of gas gaugewhile accelerating with loss of power.during this it is hard to fuel the vehicle.

Check engine light and fuel sensor warning and loss of gas gauge- while accelerating with loss of power.- during this it is hard to fuel the vehicle.

Fuel nozzle gets stuck when filling up at gas stations. I've had this truck a year and a half now and it's so frustrating. Cannot go to costco as it gets stuck and constantly clicks off, 10 gallons after thirty minutes! on another instance the attendant had to come out with a screwdriver and pry up the nozzle and yank it out! on a new truck? seriously! it's a documented issue all over the internet, fca made the fuel angle too steep and not enough room to adjust once it's in the neck. I now have to barely insert the nozzle so it doesn't click in or seal against the filler neck, bypassing the epa controls and hold it so it won't get stuck or click off! so in essence to fuel up i have to pollute more, stupid! if in doubt check the internet for ram owners forums, it's all over the place.

Fuel sensor failure on two different occasions.one was replaced (fuel rail pressure sensor) and the other has not been yet due to the very high price of the repair ($800 - $1000).fuel gauge reads full and then suddenly drops to empty.i have been advised that this is a common problem.

Fuel pump and fuel tank gauge are one assembly. System failed at 50k miles. Dealer indicated this is a known problem and entire assembly must be changed at a cost of $1200. Ram will not cover under warranty. I contacted chrysler/ram support and they said they would not be able to assist.

The fuel sensor has failed which causes us not to know how much gas is in the vehicle.the vehicle only has 30,800 miles on it.there is another issue that we are currently getting checked.the vehicle would not start even with a jump.after leaving it on trickle charge we got to to start but the traction control light came on the service shifter light came, and it said there were no pressure in the tires.we parked the vehicle and had someone come pick us up due to us not feeling safe because it was shifting weird.we had to have it towed to a dealer and they are currently diagnosing it.

The fuel sending unit failed on several occasions.the vehicle display would indicate low fuel and the gauge would go to full empty.on the third time it displayed i also got a check ending light.not knowing if the tank was really empty, i filled and it took 11 gallons for a 26 gallon tank.dealer indicated code p0463 fuel level sensor circuit high.with only 25k miles it does not seem reasonable to have this failure.online there are lots of complaints of this happening with less than 50k miles.why hasn't this become a recall?it is not safe to have sensor fail while driving due to distraction.not to mention an unnecessary expense for the owner. Ram should have corrected this issue long before the 2017 model year.

I filled up my vehicle with fuel on tuesday. I was driving down the highway thursday when all the sudden the fuel light came on along with a message. Then i noticed my fuel gauge read empty. I know it wasn't empty because i filled up 2 days earlier. I went through the notification tabs and went to messages and when i opened the message it read, "fuel sensor fail" about 5 minutes later the check engine light came on and both lights stayed on. Fuel gauge still reads empty. The truck only has 40350 miles on it and seams to be too soon for anything like this to happen.

I have a 2017 ram 1500 eco diesel. I have received a recall on it for thediesel egr cooler. I brought the vehicle in once and after a computer check with the service department, they said that it did not need to be replaced. Chrysler sent me more recall notices that said i needed to get it repaired. I spoke with chrysler and told them that i had it checked and they informed me that i did need to have the recall fixed. I scheduled another appointment for oct 16 to get it fixed. After my truck was at the dealership all day, i decided to call and get the status on the repair only to be informed that the service department was not going to repair it because there was no check engine light or leak. I found this odd for a safety recall, so i checked with chrysler again and read the recall instructions. The instructions clearly state that the recall is to be fixed and the only reason to check for a light or a leak is to see if the manifold is bad also. Im not sure why any safety recall would not be fixed asap, especially when the recall says to get it fixed immediately..

In two occasions, the vehicle speed locked on and the vehicle began accelerating out of control.the dash message lit up stating electronic throttle control service. A quick internet search shows it is a common problem. I know many ram owners who have the exhaust manifolds break repeatedly.both aresevere problems.

I am having an issue with the fuel guage and the fuel system lights on the truck. I took it in for service and they are saying the parts are on backorder. The fuel guage is showing no fuel in the car and i am concerned the car could cut off and i could lose control of it. They do not know when the parts will become available. I am concerned for myself, my family and others. I called chrysler and they were unable to help me get into the dealer sooner for repairs. They want me to wait 17 days to address the problem

Check engine light comes on and fuel gauge drops to empty. Light will go off when tank is full and comes on at 3/4. Code reads fuel sensor input level high voltage.

Fuel sensor fail, once fuel gets to just below half a tank, the fuel sensor fails amd gas guage drops to empty, check engine light comes on, also the eco sustem will fail for fuel savings. I fear the truck will shut off while driving because it will think it has no fuel. I have researched multiple complaints on this issue on line. Issue has been ongoing since 4/15/19. Milage on truck is 46000. Mileage is same as prevoius complaints for same issue.

Just bought a used truck from vandehey brantmier in chilton wi three months ago and the fuel level sensor fail light comes on check engine light comes on. Took it to the dealership and they said it needs a fuel level sensor and pump. My 2017 ram 1500 needs this and it is not covered under warranty or anything and this is a known issue for a long time but nothing has been done. This needs to change

My 2017 ram 1500 quad cab has a fuel sensor fail. I looked it up and apparently many people have this issue with ram trucks.

The fuel level sensor for the past approximately 10,000 miles intermittently quits reading the fuel level. The fuel level gauge in the dash cluster drops to empty, regardless of the actual fuel level. The message 'fuel sensor failure' appears on the dash cluster. Sometimes it stay for a few seconds, and other times it stays for a few minutes. Then it returns to working order and gives an accurate reading of the fuel level. Other times the check engine light comes on, and i have to clear the check engine light with a code reader. Code reader states code p0463 fuel level sensor. This code appears without the fuel gauge changing.

The fuel quantity indicator is defective. One the tank is half full the gage goes to zero and the low fuel warning light illiminates, also the fuel system failure light comes on

Gas station fuel filler nozzle gets stuck in vehicle fuel filler neck. This happens repeatedly and at different stations. No visible vehicle faults. Attempts to remove filler nozzle has caused cuts to hands and spilled fuel.it sometimes takes several minutes to free fuel filler without damaging vehicle. Must defeat vapor recovery by collapsing rubber boot in order to fuel vehicle. Dealer not interested .vehicle was stationary parked at gas pumps for refueling. *dsy

My ram 1500 just rolled over the 36k factory warranty and my transmission light cam and my fuel lever indicator failed.i am afraid that the truck will shut off when the fuel lever drops to ebut i know there is fuel in the truck.also when my transmission light comes on theeco fuel system does not work any more.no messages appear on my message panel.when the fuel sensor failure happens iam driving on the highway and i just made a left turn.i have also have issues with my radio turning its self off or adjusting the volume by its self..i have also experienced my digital odometer reading to just disappear at random times. My transmission light comes on randomly.it is sad that i bought a new truck with 12 miles on it and now i have all these problems.i just don't trust the truck and don't feel like it is safe to drive.the radio issue happened the next day after i purchased the truck...i am so sick of this

The truck has a lack of acceleration. When you press down the throttle it takes 5 seconds or more for it to respond causing a major safety concern. So much that you cannot cross traffic and or accelerate up the hill where it declines in speed. I live in the northwest in colder climates was snow and i lose acceleration and traction when going up hills. I have been in numerous close calls. It has been to the dealership 3 * and chrysler says it operates on design because it is not throwing any codes for them to read. I want to know where a 5 second delay in acceleration is safe? i purchased the vehicle october 31st 2017 1st complaint and time to the dealership was in december and that continues to get worse the truck only has 6500 miles on it.

Fuel sensor failure: as soon as the fuel level in the tank goes below half tank while driving, the sensor fails and shows no fuel in the tank. Driver has no accurate idea of the correct fuel amount until you refill the tank to above the half tank level. There is a recall that exist for other models of 2017 dodge ram 1500 trucks. (recall # 17v434000). My vehicle did not have the recall listed under its criteria. An attempt was made to get this recall applied to my vehicle at a local dealership. However, the service manager would not, or could not, fix this problem on my vehicle without an applied recall. This vehicle was purchased nov 26th, 2017. The 1st occurrence of this malfunction was in june 2018.

After filling up the gas tank to full, engine light comes out,eco stops working and fuel gauge goes crazy bygoing down to empty and back to full

The contact owns a 2017 ram 1500. The contact stated that the tailgate warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was serviced at charlie's dodge chrysler jeep ram (725 illinois ave, maumee, oh 43537, (419) 893-0241). The vehicle was repaired per nhtsa campaign number: 18v486000 (structure, latches/locks/linkages), but the remedy failed to repair the vehicle. The contact mentioned that the tailgate warning indicator illuminated after the recall repair. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 19,572.

The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was approximately 33,462.

While driving my 2017 ram 1500 laramie crew cab down a dirt road (approx. 25% grade) on a dry summer day, the truck seems to accelerate and then abruptly decelerate. The truck was in 4 wheel drive low and the transmission was manually placed in 1st gear. The transmission would hold the vehicle from going more than 4 mph on every other downhill area except for this longer stretch (approx 300 ft.). The truck accelerated to above 8 mph with the rpm's also increasing and than suddenly decreasing back to normal. I have been traveling this road for over 20 years with many different vehicles and have never experienced this kind ofbehavior from a vehicle. The vehicle was brought to the dealership and i was told that there is nothing that they could find wrong, but they re-flashed transmission. That solved nothing, every time i go down that same spot i have same result. Supposedly fca engineering is reviewing issue, if this is to happen in the winter, i know that the vehicle has a very could chance of becoming uncontrollable since the truck would just start to skid when it slows abruptly. Fca's response was to be patient. When i asked the dealership to have someone come out to the property so that i could duplicate this issue for them they declined.

The contact owns a 2017 ram 1500. While stationary, the vehicle rolled backwards in the park position. The failure recurred on another occasion. The vehicle was taken to fayetteville dodge in fayetteville, new york 13066, but the failure could not be duplicated. The contact was able to record the failure on video and submitted the videos to the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 14,000.

Tl * the contact owns a 2017 ram 1500. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, there was a shimmy in the front-end of the vehicle.the contact stated the driveshaft and power train were inoperable. The vehicle was taken to community motors chrysler dodge jeep ram (500 westin oaks dr, hammond, la 70403, (985) 345-0401) however, the mechanic was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 55,000. The vin was not available.

When under acceleration in any gear, from 2000 to 2500 rpm there is a buzzy feeling vibration in the floor, gas pedal and steering wheel.taken vehicle to 2 separate dealers who claim "normal characteristic", however this issue did not start occuring until the vehicle had about 1000 miles on it.

I have a 2017 dodge ram 1500 long star with 61000 miles when i come to a complete stop the truck jumps a little before or after it varies like if something is loose in the bed of the truck i've done my research and a lot of dealerships have replace transmissions and the customers are still having the same problem i believe itis the drive shaft please look into this thank you very much [xxx].information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Every time i drive on a long trip and try to pass some one the rear end feels like it is going to fall off and i loos power and the trans makes a lound noise and feels like it is going to break offi paid a lot of money for this truck no codes come up but there is a iuuse please help me.

Last week on my way home from a long day of work i was driving on i15 in las vegas nv. As i was driving roughly around 75mph i started to hear a clicking noise then i heard a louder bang like something broke, the gas pedal would not work so i started to slow down and pull to the side. When i came to a complete stop the truck would not go into parking i turned off the truck and it it continues to roll so i pressed the emergency break. I got out to see what was wrong and my drive shaft was broken in half. The next morning the truck was towed to a ram dealer and the issue was but i was told that it would happend again because that is a common issued with ram 1500 single cabs with 3:92 gears and 8 speed transmission. If ram and chrysler are well aware of this problem why not fixed it. I'm scared that it will happen again as i was told and at that time i will not have factory warranty and will cost me a lot of money in order to fix a problem that should have been fixed by the automakers

While at the boat ramp, pulling a boat out of the water. The truck was on an incline. The boat was about 1200 - 1500 pounds total. The truck was in park, parking brake engaged. Sitting in the cab with the seat belt on and the door ajar, placing the transmission in drive, after the transmission engaged i increased the rpm slightly with the gas pedal and then released the parking brake. This has always been the normal procedure that prevents the rig from rolling backward. When i did this and added more throttle the truck started to move forward but then quickly disengaged from park to n, the truck started to roll backwards and the rpm increased. I was able to apply the brake and stop. This repeated several times. The instrument cluster flashed a warning that the truck was not in park. I believe thereis a flaw in the auto park feature. It is repeatable. Incline, door ajar, belt on, from park to drive. On flat ground i can not duplicate.

Truck was left in park in my driveway...the next day it was found to have rolled down the driveway into the streetwise got into the truck and verified the shifter was indeed in the park position 2017 ram 1500 with the 8 speed transmission and rotary shifter

I have already submitted a report & picture to you on 07/11/2017 regarding the rotary shifter knob not staying in park & rolling away in reverse demolishing my water well to my home.this exact same thing happen twice this morning 07/27/17 - i stopped the vehicle, put it in park (light above "p" was lit) the display stated "vehicle not in park" so i put it back in drive then back to park with the same display appearing. Both times the indicator light above the "p" was lit.

The contact's husband owns a 2017 ram 1500. The contact stated that while her husband was driving 25 mph, the vehicle stalled. The contact stated he attempted to restart the vehicle and the check engine warning light illuminated. After multiple attempts, the vehicle failed to restart and was towed to the contact's residence. I sent a complaint to you on my vehicle last year in the summer about the transmission electronic shifter jumping out of drive and going into reverse while motionless resulting in an accident. I took the vehicle to the dealer and they said "no problems". I have since experienced several incidents of the shifter jumping out of drive and also notmoving, just revvingwhen you put it in drive unless you resift. I hope i can remember not to trust the shifter otherwise it could result in further damager, bodily injury or even death. When it first happened to me, had i not have jumped back in the truck after i had shifted it to park and got out, i would have been knocked down by the door and run over by the front wheels. Again i just want to state that the jumping out of park happened several times before and after the incident. I have reported it to the dealer, as i said and i have the info on a ro. When i reported it to dodge there were a little evasive when i asked about ram trucks having a recall, the representative just said "the recalls are vin specific and there are no recalls on that vin". I was told to go to a dealer to have it checked.

Uncommon vehicle vibrations felt while idling. While driving, vehicle shakes at all speeds and becomes more pronounced the faster the velocity. After having routine maintenance performed at chapman las vegas vehicle was returned to me. When i took possession and started the vehicle at chapman las vegas it misfired (uncontrollably shaking) and the check engine light turned on.dealer ended up keeping vehicle another day to inspect misfire/check engine light issue.according to chapman las vegas they could not identify the reason for the misfire/check engine light and had me pick up the vehicle the next day.ever since that incident the vehicle has become unstable and constantly shakes.i was advise by chapman las vegas to "continue driving the vehicle until engine light comes on" as they can't figure out the problem for the continued shaking. This has been going on for a few weeks now. I do not feel safe continuing to drive a defective vehicle. I'm now starting to feel and hear rattling sounds while making turns.not sure if its at all connected but again the vehicle does not feel safe.spoke with service department agent today and will be dropping the vehicle off again.on top of the shaking now the rear view camera is not working properly.ive taken videos of the rearview camera issues.unfortunately i can't video the vibrating vehicle.on 9/14/2020 at approximately 9:30 am an employee of chapman las vegas (mechanic mark) did a drive along with me so that he could asses the shaking of the vehicle.he confirmed that in factit was shaking.he advised that he thought it might be an issue with the tires.i immediately (1 hour later) went and had the tire tread checked, tires rotated and balanced.the shaking still continues!

5 days after having the truck in for regular maintenance and recalls...i took the truck through an automated car wash.i have taken it to this same car wash several times.i put the truck in neutral, as instructed by the attendant.at the end of the wash, when the green light came on, i put it into drive.it did not move.i tried many times, but without success.finally the manager came to help me, and he too witnessed that it would not move.we put it into park, and then into drive, two more times before it finally jerked forward.in the meantime, i was hit by the truck behind me, and set off a chain of 5 vehicles colliding.the gear dial said i was in drive each time, but clearly, i was not.i am taking it back to the dealership first thing in the morning.

The contact owns a 2017 ram 1500. While the vehicle was shifted into park, it independently shifted out of gear. As a result, the contact was struck by the vehicle and pinned in the driveway. The contact's relative was able to get the vehicle moved. The contact sustained severe bruising and swelling, which required medical attention. The dealer and the manufacturer were not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 9,000.

The vehicle jumps (bumps) when coming to a complete stop and the vehicles transmission is in drive mode.it does this also when releasing the brake from a complete stop with the transmission is in drive. This happens when stopping or taking off from stop lights or stop signs or in general stops or driving off. I don't want it to be an incident in the future. I don't want it to get worst and cause an incident by running into a vehicle in front of me or a pedestrian.

Vehicle began intermittently "popping" or "jerking" while driving and would have gear issues such as appearing to remain in 1st gear or would fail to go into reverse. The popping into a lower gear would happen while the vehicle was moving and thus caused an immediate traffic slowdown and potential accident situation. Also, the vehicle would fail to reverse at time and would only remedy itself after turning the vehicle off and then back on. The check engine light would intermittently come on and off and almost a year ago, i was advised by the dealer (tallahassee dodge) that there was a gear ratio issue. However, when i received the vehicle i was told that another sensor had a leak and there was no indication of a transmission issue (at 55k miles). Now, the vehicle has been having the same intermittent issues and i have returned it to the dealer for repair, now the dealer states the vehicle is out of warranty and the issue is an internal transmission problem that needs to have a new transmission installed.

On november 9, 2019, at approximately 12:pm, i was at my area's atm, sitting still, when all of a sudden the truck just turned off, without warning and i had to get it towed home by my aaa service

The contact owns a 2017 ram 1500. When the contact attempted to check the transmission fluid, there was no dipstick present. The contact stated that the transmission hesitated when switching from two to four wheel drive. The gear would shift roughly into another gear. The dealer and manufacturer were not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 4,200. The vin was unknown.

Takara recall erratic shifting of second and third gears.

The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign numbers: 20v036000 (power train) and 19v818000 (equipment, engine and engine cooling) however, the parts to do the recall repairs were unavailable. Chapman dodge chrysler jeep ram (3800 n 89 th st, scottsdale, az 85251) was contacted and confirmed that the parts were not available. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repairs.the manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Vin tool confirms parts not available.

The contact owned a 2017 ram 1500. The contact stated that the vehicle was stationary with the possibility of it being in the park position. The contact mentioned that he was distracted taking photographs at the time when the brake pedal was released and began to exit the vehicle. As the contact attempted to exit, the vehicle rolled away causing the driver to fall out the vehicle and hit his head on the ground. As a result of the fall, the contact had a vague memory as to the exact events that took place. The vehicle rolled over a 400 feet cliff. When the driver fell out of the vehicle, he was unconscious for an unknown amount of time, sustained an ankle, cracked head, and fractured hip injuries. Medical attention was not sought. The contact had to limp a few miles on foot to a cell phone site and contacted the highway patrol. The police was present and a report was issued number: 9730-2019-01017. No ambulance or fire department present. The vehicle was towed out the cliff line which took 8 hours to complete and was taken to an impound lot. The insurance company picked it up afterwards. The vehicle was deemed destroyed. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for a diagnostic. The manufacturer was not notified of the apparent failure. The vin was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 18v100000 (power train). The approximate failure mileage was 40,000. *dt*dt *as

The contact owns a 2017 ram 1500. While the engine was turned off and the transmission was in the park position, the vehicle rolled backwards down the driveway. In addition, while operating the vehicle, the transmission erroneously switched from drive into park, although the gear shifter remained in the drive position. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. Courtesy chrysler (2225 e. Lincoln hwy, coatesville, pa) was notified of the failure. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 21,000.

Dodge ram 1500. Consumer states that while in drive and reverse the rpm is above 5000. *ldthe consumer stated the vehcile would not move.

File complaint with you regarding defective goodyear tires they were replaced and truck began to have violent shaking had wheels rebalance at dealer and violent shaking continued. Return to dealer on 8/10/17 and test drive car to duplicate concern, concern was duplicated. Mechanic found another tired out of roundand defective along with right side rear axle defective. Drove car approximately 1 hour and began to get vibration again at highway speeds. It seems like rear axle passenger side. Seems like axle is heating up and causing vibration. Ram complaint # 32177668. Will return to dealer. This is an unsafe condition since they have problem with rear differential.needs to be investigated. Car tires were rebalanced 5 times before done correctly. Violent shaking was worse at highway speeds before axle replaced. Passenger side probably defective also. Car began to shake after hour of driving at 67 mph.... Updated 09/20/17 updated 11/2/2017

I was parked on an unpavedflat campground road.truck would not go from park to reverse, so after warning lights on dash advised to return to park, i followed instructions. Then againtried reverse andthe truck jumped into drive causing it to go into a small pond. After which the vehicle would no longer change into any gear.this vehicle has had multiple recalls and we have taken it in twice for the transmission recall only to be told nothing was wrong.

Vehicle begins shaking between 68-73 mph on several different highways. I wanted to make sure it was not road conditions. The steering wheel doesn't shake but the vehicle vibrates. May be coming from the rear of the vehicle. Replaced all four tires with brand new and had them balanced, had the vehicle aligned. Same problem occurs. This seems to be a common issue. Vehicle has 34,212 miles. Had tires rebalanced after 150 miles of use. Issue did not go away.

The "service electronic throttle control" light as well as the "cel" illuminate and the vehicle goes in to limp mode.i had this issue at 3100 miles and it left the vehicle inoperable until a dealership performed a programming flash.now at 31100 miles the issue has happened again nearly causing me to get t-boned due to the limp mode causing a significant power reduction.the truck has been sitting at the dealership for four days now without any further communication from them. This is a major safety issue that needs to be addressed by ram,my truck has the ecodiesel engine.i have found many other complaints on this same issue across the fiat/ chrysler lineup.

2017 dodge ram 1500. Consumer writes in regards to parts being unavailable for vehicle repair. *ld

Every once in a while, when i change gears, it will not go in, it will just flash.i so far, can change to another selection, such as drive and the vehicle will move.this happened once in my driveway, tried numerous things and would not work in reverse. I called dealer and they told me to bring it in.they had it towed.after arrival, it worked.i went online and discovered numerous entries from people as far back as 2013, who have experienced the same problem, some times in drive and sometimes in reverse, like mine.some said they were driving and at a stoplight.the second time it happened to me was at the grocery store parking lot, i was pulling into a parking spot, stopped to back up and straighten out, put it in reverse, all it would is flash.tied up the parking lot for approximately 40 minutes.finally it worked.

Vehicle has had 4 complete set of tires, plus 2.... Vehicle starts shaking and wobble while driving at 68-72mph. Ram refuses to look into this. Something i think in drive line orrear causing all these problem.something is causing tire damage..out of round and radial run out. Shaking and wobble have never stop with all these tires and balances. I have all ro's if wanted

Constant vibrating and shaking from the rear end of the truck that can't seem to be fixed! was at speeds above 65mph. Now it's all speeds!

Rotary gear shift knob issue. Put in park, got out to close my gate, truck began rolling backwards went through my yard crashed into & over my water well. Not the first timeit hasn't held.

The contact owns a 2017 ram 1500. While the vehicle was started on a flat surface while in the park position, it rolled forward several times. In addition, while reversing, there was an abnormal spinning condition and the tires caught up to the motion as the failure occurred intermittently. The dealer (atlantic dodge chrysler jeep ram, 2330 us-1, st augustine, fl 32086, (904) 797-4383) was notified. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. My truck rolled 6 foot backwards in my driveway. The vehicle had been parked at 9 pm the previous evening and at 10:56 the truck began to roll it took almost a minute and rolled approximately 6 feet in reverse.the truck was in park locked and empty. I have a video from my home security cameras showing this.the response i got back from my dealer said that i should be sure to apply the parking brake.

Tried to get recalls repaired told no loaner dont drive truck...no way to go to work

U53 occupant restraint control module & u74 2015 - 2017 tailgate latch.for the u74, i have been attempting for over a year now to get fixed, and the local dealers do not assist stating parts not available.the larger concern is the new u53 seat belt safety issue.i have tried through multiple local dealers in san antonio tx, and chrysler corp to get assistance, and i am being met with no help.i am highly concerned at the safety issues and the mfr is not helping.one dealer even stated my vin didn't have the recall when i have a vehicle report email, sent monthly from mfr, that reflects the recall.

My second front impact with my truck. First one was 10k damage impact was 50 mph, then a few months later my airbag light came on. Ram says clock spring needs replaced, i pay them to replace it. 2 weeks later another frontal impact at 45mph, airbags didn't deploy nor the seat belts lock up. My 12 yo daughter hits the dash and now has a concussion. I end up with a disc issue and pinched nerves in my neck. Funny how i pay it get a system fixed and now nothing works. Called dealer talked to melody, she said service manager would call back, never has. I'm considering filing a law suit against ram and parts supplier.

Involved in a major front end collision. Airbags seat belts did not deploy. As per certified auto repair shop, air bag sensors not operational.

The contact owns a 2017 ram 1500. While driving 50 mph in inclement weather, the contact lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle slid off the road into some trees and then crashed head on into a tree. None of the air bags deployed and the seat belt failed to restrain. The contact sustained whiplash and pains to the neck, back, chest, lungs, and hip, which required medical attention. The dealer was not contacted. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a location chosen by the insurance company. The manufacturer was notified. The vin was not available. The approximate failure mileage was 40,000.

Was invloved in an front end accident on the freeway going 40+mph and the seatbelt failed with no airbag deployed. I ended up hitting the dash and hit my head on the windshield.

Noticed a smell for a few months now consistent with wet and moldy carpet after it rains. I noticed under my back seats in the storage compartment that there was stagnant water puddling up. Brought my vehicle to a mechanic shop in coral springs ( dr. Brakes w/ mike.) and had the vehicle diagnosed for a fee. Found out that the rear glass with the operable window was leaking down the passengers side, wetting the back insulation going down to the carpet flooring, and finally into the storage compartments. I called cooperate in regards to this issue and the first rep was professional and assisted me with a "good will" claim being that this is my first dodge vehicle and even insisted on my brother purchasing one (which he did, 2019 ram sport orange in color).the rep helped me schedule an appointment for the vehicle to be diagnosed and repaired. When i get to the arrigododge, chrysler, jeep in tamarac fl for my appointment on thursday aug. 22, 2019, my service professionalterri, claimed that the case was opened and closed that 2 days before on tuesday and he didn't know why but she asked her director of the service department is they're were anything else and he told her no and walked away from me. Called corp again, spoke to travian, who was very unprofessional and ended up with me on hold for 11mins only tohang op on me instead of transferring me to someone else. This is a very unprofessional cooperate operation and from someone telling you one thing and changing their mind with out any consideration for me as the vehicle owner asking for help with a situation that had nothing to do with me, nor the time i took off from my job to get to the dealership.this situation makes me very unhappy to have purchased a 2017 dodge ram, crew cab, big horn if i had any idea customer service would treat me this way, i would of went to rick case, where they care for customers.

The contact owned a 2017 ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving at an unknown speed, attempting to pass another vehicle, another vehicle turned in front of her and she clipped that vehicle as a result her vehicle flipped over. There were no warning lights illuminated prior to the failure.the contact stated she lost consciousness once she crashed into the other vehicle but came to in order to remove her seat belt and attempted to exit the vehicle. The contact stated that a passerby attempted to break the cab windows but failed. The contact stated that the interior caught on fire as will as the air bags. The fire department was able to extinguish the fire after some time.a police report was filed. The contact sustained injuries to the neck back and knee as she was transported to the hospital by ambulance.the driver of the unknown vehicle had no reported injuries however medical attention was provided. The local dealer and manufacturer were not contacted. The insurance company deemed the vehicle a total loss. The failure mileage was approximately 72,000. The vin was not available.

The contact owns a 2017 ram 1500. The contact stated that while reversing and depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle went into overdrive and crashed into a building. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The air bags did not deploy. The contact stated no one was injured nor sought medical attention. A police report was not reported. The contact did not call the local dealer and made them aware of this failure. On june 21, 2021, the contact stated that when approaching an intersection and depressing the brake pedal, the vehicle went into overdrive again. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact stated he depressed the brake pedal to the floor to stop the vehicle. The contact took the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the brake and accelerator assembly to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 26,000.

The vehicle was bought new by me, and only used for personal use on public roads.the truck has not been used for work nor used in dirt etc.the brakes and everything else on the vehicle are the original components that came with the vehicle when new.the brake pads on the vehicle at only 29,000 miles are "crumbling" (those were the words from the dodge/ram dealership service dept), and the outer edges of the front brake rotors are flaking apart.the dealership said they see this a lot with ram trucks, and some that are only a year old with low mileage.the dealer service dept said chrysler knows about this, but won't do anything.the dealership said the brakes are dangerous and the vehicles with this problem cannot be driven safely, so the brakes (pads and rotors) must be replaced.the dealer told me to call chrysler at 800-992-1997.the chrysler "customer care" people refused to acknowledge that they know about this problem, but they said that they know that their brakes don't last long, which is why they only provide a warranty of 12-months/12,000 miles, despite the advertised 36-month "bumper-to-bumper" warranty.this problem with the brakes is due to very low quality materials, and is a major safety hazard for anyone with a ram truck, as well as a safety hazard to the general public who could be injured by ram trucks that have these brakes.chrysler (ram) is knowingly putting vehicles on the roads with unsafe brake components.brakes are the most important safety items on vehicles, and the brakes should be made of quality materials, and not be falling apart and failing so soon.regardless of whether brake pads are wear items, this is not a wear issue.those brake pads have a lot of thickness, but they're crumbling, which is premature failure.and the brake rotors should not be falling apart.

While driving vehicle when coming to a stop at speeds of 15-65 mph. The steering wheel shakes and it seems as if the truck doesn't want to stop. I was told this is due to the rotors warping. If this happens to a dodge / ram pickups they should probably upgrade the discs and pads for better stopping and stabilizing.

Truck rolled down a slight incline 20-30 feet while in park driver not in vehicle and struck another car behind it. Vehicle stationary, in front of 58 parker blvd monsey ny 10952. Driver and passenger of other vehicle witnessed event. Vehicle was in park and off key out of ignition occurrence 03/03/19 830-845 pm. Truck sustained bumper damage car sustained damage to the hood.

Sudden lose of front air suspension while highway driving, negatively effected the vehicles stability, steering, and ability to stop. Truck is currently at dealer. Only explanation given is it might be because its cold outside (which has been known to happen in winter).

Severe braking issue - when idling downhill and in gear ("drive") vehicle cannot be stopped/brakes do not hold.higher speeds (not attempted) would likely be a disaster.in the attached photo i am coming down our driveway idling in gear ("drive") with brakes mashed to the floor (full travel) and vehicle continues rolling forward/cannot be stopped.truck is carrying very light load in the bed and only 1 person (the driver).i don't know if this lack of braking is caused by the steep pitch or simply inadequate brakes but whatever the cause the vehicle cannot be controlled.this is an extreme safety issue.additional info can be found on my post here: https://www.ramforum.com/threads/white-knuckle-moment-steep-driveway-hard-brakes-not-stopping.128905/page-3#post-1872457

The contact owns a 2017 ram 1500. While the vehicle was in park, the contact released the parking brake and the vehicle independently rolled backwards into a lake. The contact owns a 2017 ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving approximately 35 mph, the driver suddenly swerved to the left and pressed the brake pedal to avoid a collision but the vehicle speed and erroneously accelerated faster causing the driver to lose control and crashed into tree. During the crash, the front end of the vehicle was severely damaged but the air bags did not deploy.no injuries were reported and no police reported was taken. The manufacturer was notified and a representative was sent to examine the vehicle and no problem was found with the vehicle. The local dealer autonation dodge (21777 katy freeway, katy tx.) was also notified of the failure. The vehicle was towed. The failure mileage was 37,000. The vin was not available.

While driving on paved surface approaching a right turn at 20 mph i experienced sudden loss ofpower steering.the steering wheel was extremely difficult to turn nearly causing an accident..the dash information center was telling me not to shut down the vehicle.after placing the truck in park the advisory lights went out the red power steering light remained on

Electric power steering failure.over a period of 2-3 weeks power steering has become more and more inoperable and requires very much effort to steer.dealer suggestion is to completely replace rack & pinion module at high cost - est $2200.repair must be done to make this vehicle safe to drive. This problem seems identical to the description of the recent (16 dec 2019) vb8 chrysler recall for 2019 ram 1500 trucks.

Failure of electric power assist steering athighway speeds in heavy traffic. Unable to properly control vehicle.

The contact owns a 2017 ram 1500. While driving 50 mph or more, the vehicle drove roughly and the steering wheel vibrated. While driving with the rear windows down, the turbulence caused the vehicle to shake violently and caused ear trauma/popping and the contact's eyes to water. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer (john hiester chrysler dodge jeep ram, 940 n main st, lillington, nc 27546 910-893-8088) where it was diagnosed that the tires needed to be balanced and other windows should be opened for the turbulence. The rear passenger tire was replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified and opened case number: 32784742. Jessica at 844-378-0573 ext 81498 stated that the information about the turbulence was in the owner's manual. The failure mileage was 2,837.

While driving my 2017 dodge ram 1500 truck the power steering stopped working which caused me to nearly run off the road during an attempted turn. The power steering has since been intermittently cutting in and out which makes it very difficult to steer, especially at slower speeds. I was driving on city streets when this happened.

The contact owns a 2017 ram 1500. The contact stated while driving 40 mph, the steering wheel became difficult to turn. The contact pulled over and towed the vehicle to his residence. The contact stated that the power steering warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 65,000.

I was taking a corner at about 20 mph and the power steering gave out causing me to almost crash the vehicle, a couple munutes later it came back on for a little while, and then the next time i started up the truck it had no power steering at all. Now waiting to get it into dodge for repairs.

Intermittent loss of power steering. Two ocurrances 3 months apart. Low speed right turn at 20mph, dash error light (loss of comm with power steerring) and no power steering. Stop, shut engine down and restart restores power steering.second occurance (14 aug 2020), same error while performing left turn at about 25 mph. Shut engine, and restart restores power steering. In both instances, manual non assisted steering still functional.all driving while in city, starting from intersection.

Electronic power steering failure while driving at high speeds, rendering the vehicle not able to drive. Unable to steer vehicle causing imminent danger to myself, my passenger, and other drivers on the road. The vehicle is not able to be driven to be serviced or inspected. There were no warning signs of power steering failure until the event as described happened.

Power steering eps has failed. The car lost the power steering.

The steering wheel resumed normal operation after the engine was restarted. The vehicle was taken to brunswick auto mart (3031 center road brunswick, ohio 44212 phone (330)-273-3300), but the cause of the failure could not be diagnosed. The dealer test drove the vehicle and was unable to duplicate the failure. The dealer indicated that there may have been a miscommunication between the steering wheel electrical systems. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 7,071. Updated 11/02/17*ljconsumer stated vehicle experienced sudden loss of power steerings while in a turn causing vehicle to cross road centerline narrowly missing oncoming traffic. Updated 7/16/18

Sudden lose of front air suspension while highway driving, negatively effected the vehicles stability, steering, and ability to stop. Truck is currently at dealer. Only explanation given is it might be because its cold outside (which has been known to happen in winter).

The contact owns a 2017 ram 1500. While driving 20 mph, the vehicle lost steering power ability and the power steering warning indicator illuminated. The contact had to use excessive strength to steer the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to capper chrysler dodge jeep ram, inc. (1738 e washington st, washington, ia 52353, (319) 653-3340) where it was diagnosed that the electronic power steering needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. Power steering works and don't workdont work when temp is 40;or below then drive for10_12 miles shut engine off restart and power steering working

Electronic power steering appears to be intermittently inoperative.i was driving this past weekend and multiple times when turning in parking lot or going under 20 mph or at least that is what i noticed, it became difficult to steer and then forcing steering all the sudden power steering kicks in almost causing accident.i will be taking my truck into dealership but i see there are no recalls yet on this problem and i see complaints going back many years.this is truly a safety concern.....

On two occasions within the last three days, while driving and about to make a turn, my power steering was completely disabled. The first time i was turning onto another street and nearly ran into the ditch.luckily the second time, i was leaving a parking lot. On both occasions, it was very very difficult to turn the truck with no power steering. Once i turned the truck off for a while to research the problem and restarted it, the problem went away. I am now afraid to drive my truck on a upcoming trip to the mountains.

The contact's husband owns a 2017 ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle lost power steering assist and excessive force was needed to steer the vehicle. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000

While driving my eps will have an intermittent loss if power.

The electronic power steering (eps) system threw a code for a short circuit and the eps system failed. I lost my power steering while on the road and was unable to safely operate my ram. The power steering light indicator was on. This problem was serviced at apple chrysler dodge in hanover pa on july 21 2021, invoice attached, costing me $2653.43. This is the same issue that was addressed for both the 2015 and 2016 ram 1500s in a recall for ā€œloss of power steering assistā€¯, issued march 23, 2016 (nhtsa no 16v167000).

I was driving on the highway at highway speed and just as i entered a curve the steering went out and a warning came up on the instrument panel which said power steering failure. Once i was in a safe place to do so i turned the engine off and re-started it. Everything returned to normal.

The manufacturer was not made aware of the failures. The failure mileage was 26,320.

Bought a brand new ram 1500crew cabsport night especial edition. At 3,332 miles the entire truck was repainted due to rust coming through the paint and paint defectbubbles under paint and dirt , front bumper plate bracket fix due to holes been drilled to big, and front passanger side light was aliagned with the body since there was a gap and not installed correctly.i tooked my truck back to the dealer to paint6 bolts that weren't painted and to replace the driver side( mopar chrysler ram ) step bardue to getting rusted . This happened at 5,894miles . Now at 6,700 miles i will be taking my truck back to the dealer due to rust showing on bolts and rear bumper.

On a 2 lane rural road our front hit the side of another vehicle that pulled out in front of us.the airbags did not deploy.my speed was between 30-40 mph at point of impact.

The tailgate latch fails and tailgate falls down in the open position.very unsafe if bed is loaded. Also could get damaged if hauling a trailer or camper. This happens after the automatic door lock engages after 5 to 15 mph.this happensdaily while in motion.

Cargo box latch area cracking on left sidelid..noticed while traveling not being used. {ram box}

On october of 2016 i purchased a 2016 ram 1500 and a monthlater my truck was repurchased back by chrysler because of several paint damaged includingrust .on december of 2016 i tooked possession of my replacement vechile . As soon as i got home with my truck i had problems with it . The driving lights were fogged up pretty bad with a lot of condensation in it . I contacted chrysler and they immediately ordered the lights and iam waiting to make an appointment to get the new lights put onthe truck . Furthermore , i also called ram customer assistant about the shifting noise my truck made when i turned on . When i turn off my truck and later on i go to turn my truck on when i put the key on the ignition and moved the key into acc position the rotary shifter make a sound like the vechile go into parking from drive . I called customer assistant and i was told that the same day i take it to the dealer to get the lights replaced have the dealer take a look at it . I asked if that was normal for my truck to sound like it was never on parking and i left it on drive and all i was told to have the dealer take a look at it . This vechile is a 2017 and a replacement to my 2026 that was repurchased because rust and paint damaged.

There is a water leak that is seen coming in at the driver's a-pillar and at the center overhead console.

Tailgate keeps opening while driving

The contact owns a 2017 ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving at 30 mph, the vehicle independently moved to the left, which caused the load in the rear to shift.the vehicle was taken to scott robinson chrysler dodge jeep ram located at 20900 hawthorne blvd, torrance, ca 90503, where the contact was referred to a body shop for assistance. The vehicle was taken to an auto body shop for repairs which was still pending. The manufacturer was not informed of failure. The failure mileage was approximately 13,000.*dt

My tailgate on my pick-up falls open randomly.supposedly the lock mechanism has a tab that is prone to break off when the tailgate locks automatically with the door locks. This causes the mechanism to engage to open and the tailgate falls open randomly.this could be catastrophic if i am hauling something on the highway and the tailgate flies open spilling the load on the highway. Should be a recall for safety.

Left front tire blew out and damaged fender and inner liner. I was traveling on hwy 57 in south texas at about 75 mph. Tire gave no warning that there was a problem. Was lucky there was no one beside me or coming in my direction when it happened.

Satellite reception keeps cutting out and radio frequently cuts out while driving.

I was rear ended on nov 3rd 2018. The collision center where my xar is being fixed has put the order in for a brand new box assembly directly from dodge amd its been almost two months and there is no part available. I have been incurring cost for rentals as my truck is still in the shop with no end in sight.

The tailgate on my ram has opened twice while vehicle was in motion.once while i was pulling a small trailer. The tailgate fell open hitting the trailer jack causing damage to the tailgate.this is a lease vehicle and i will be held responsiblefor that damage. Both times i was parked and had just started to leave.

I was involved in a wreck back on feb 20th of 2019.that impacted the lower rear c-post of my truck. Just last week as the body shop was beginning preparations to replace the complete side of my 2017 ram 1500. When they cut off the a/b-posts they noticed the truck had surface rust in the inner structure of both. Rust that should not be in there. The c-post and rocker panels were coated on the inside but not the other two. I have taken pictures although they are not as good as actually looking at the issue in person. They are replacing that but makes me concerned about other rams and honestly the other side of my truck. A lot of things can rust on a truck and you would still be considered safe.the a/b-post is not on that list in my opinion.

I bought a new 2017 ram truck.the top of the truck is made of very cheap metal it dents very easy does not take to much at all to dent the truck. A few days after getting my new truck it had a dent the size of a basket ball.the dealer sent it to a dent less paint repair shop.after they fixed it you could still tell where the dent was if the lighting was right.if parked out in the sun light it look fine.parked under my car port you could tell that there use to be a dent in that spot. Ram is using very cheap metal to make the new ram trucks.my friends thinks this happened after they ran the truck through there car wash before i left the dealer ship with my new truck.he said maybe the air they use to dry the truck off may have put the dent there.but i am not sure where the dent came from.i fill really unsafe in my new ram truck because if the truck was in a rollover it would crush us. It would crush like a tin can. I give the truck 1 out of10 stars1 star i fill like ever person that has bought this truck has been ripped off.these trucks are way over priced for what you get in return for your money. I would like to have a full refund of my money for this new 2017 unsafe ram that dents when you just touch it a little. The metal on top of the cap is also very flimsy you can put your hand on top of the cap and put very little pressure and it moves. The top of the truck should have no flex to the top of the truck at all it should be solid metal on top of the truck. I think the finders needs to be a little thicker metal and also the rest of the truck should be made a way better metal should be used for the whole truck.they want you to pay lots of money for some thing that is made really cheap.i will send a picture of the truck before it was fixed by paint repair.

The tailgate will open at random intervals (4 times in the past 2 weeks) while the vehicle is in motion.the source of the issue is the lock actuator on the tailgate handle.

Tried to get recalls repaired told no loaner dont drive truck...no way to go to work

"takata recall" on my truck, the tailgate will randomly open when driving down the road. I have had my lawn mower fly out into the road on the interstate due to this issue. This is a huge safety issue. I have done my research and i see there are a lot of other people who are having this issue. I have emailed ram and mopar with no response. They want $350 to fix this at the dealership. My truck is a 2017 i should not have to pay to replace a part that is a safety issue. This should be a recalled issue. Anything you could do to help would be greatly appreciated.

On october 17 2017 , i purchased the vechile above brand new . Later on that week i discovered that there is visible rust on the body of the truck and several rust bubbles popping out from the paint . This is the second brand new vechile ram 1500 i had buyed that been sold to me with paint and rust issues .a third vechile i ordered was delivered to me with head lightproblems

Tailgate falls open while driving, unsecured load could fall out

Pics should tell.can't send many.battery fumes, mold

Swerved to avoid deer in road. Hit a tree head on at approx 50mph. Airbags never deployed. Car reported airbag fault on display immediately after accident. Sheriff and ems both felt airbags should have deployed. *dt*dt

The contact then stated that when she was reversing out of a parking lot, the back up camera was pointed at the ground. Upon further inspection, the contact became aware that the tailgate door opened independently without warning. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent. The contact called fox negaunee chrysler dodge jeep ram 701 us-41, negaunee, mi 49866 and made an appointment to have the vehicle serviced. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The dealer replaced the tailgate actuator. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was not available.

Tl * the contact owns a 2017 ram 1500. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 55,000. The vin was not available.

The contact owns a 2017 ram 1500. The contact stated while driving at various speeds in colder temperatures the air ride suspension failed to operate as intended. The contact stated that the failure was more prevalent with temperature at 10 degrees and below. The vehicle was taken to (lockwood motors located at 1310 e college dr, marshall, mn 56258) to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the air suspension pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but offered no assistance. The approximate failure mileage was 90,000.

Air suspension failure. When the temperature is below zero degrees fahrenheit , the air suspension fails and sits all the way down on the bump stops, or leans to the left dramatically. It stays that way until the dealership can take it in, which can be weeks.

My truck has had air-suspension problems since i purchased it back in 2017. The air suspension will completely bottom out the truck which makes driving unsafe on the highway. It takes me twice as long to break when this happens and if i hit a bump on the freeway it will make everybody inside the truck jolt.

In temps below zero air suspension fails

Sudden lose of front air suspension while highway driving, negatively effected the vehicles stability, steering, and ability to stop. Truck is currently at dealer. Only explanation given is it might be because its cold outside (which has been known to happen in winter).

Constant vibrating and shaking from the rear end of the truck that can't seem to be fixed! was at speeds above 65mph. Now it's all speeds!

The air suspension on my 2017 ram 1500 has malfunctioned.it will go from working good, to no suspension at any time with no warning.then the drivers side will have no suspension, and the passenger side will jack up to off road 2.again, without any warning or me doing anything to prompt it.makes the truck very squirrely to drive.

The contact owns a 2017 ram 1500. While the contact's husband was driving 50 mph, the vehicle experienced the "death wobble" and shook violently. When the accelerator pedal was depressed, the vehicle failed to accelerate more than 60 mph. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to mazda of mesquite (located at 15900 lyndon b johnson fwy, mesquite, tx 75150, (972) 686-6200), but the failure was unable to be duplicated. The dealer replaced all four tires, but the failure continued. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 42,000.

Air suspension will stop working causing the truck to ride directly on the frame. Also, the front will deflate while the back is still inflated. Any time this happens the fuse for the air suspension is blown. Has happened on numerous occasions since purchasing the truck. Occurs while vehicle is parked and not in operation.

The contact owns a 2017 ram 1500. After leaving the dealer and driving 65 mph, the contact heard a loud noise coming from the rear end. The contact coasted the vehicle to the side of the road and noticed that the air rod suspension did not have air. The vehicle was driven to the contact's residence. The contact stated that the vehicle bounced due to lack of air in the suspension. The vehicle was later taken to shaver chrysler dodge jeep ram & fiat (3888 thousand oaks blvd, thousand oaks, ca 91362, (805) 496-7103), but was not diagnosed or repaired. My 2017 dodge ram is having starting problems in the morning only. It takes about 15 to 20 minutes to start. I don't have remote start, it is not the fob, i believe it's the ( win module ) has i have looked up on some ram chat sites. My truck only has 37k on it and warranty just expired in september...go figure!

2017 ram 1500 tailgate randomly drops. Apparently it is the locking mechanism that fails, when you lock or unlock the vehicle it will randomly cause the manual tailgate latch to open. The tail gate falls driving down the road or after you have parked, it can fall anytime causing bed contents to fall out or possibly striking someone walking behind the vehicle. The dealer claims this is a rare occurrence and of course doesn't stock the part. 2017 is not the only year vehicle this affects according to ram forums.

When driving my doge ram 1500 tail gate comes down by it self have taken to dealers twic happeite and they say they cant find any thing wrong with it

Poor fuel mileage poor performance

While driving down the road the drivers side window fell into the bottom of the door without any warning or signs of an existing problem. Reacting to this caused me to swerve into the oncoming lane, luckily there was no vehicle close enough to me that i couldn't return to my own lane without incident, from internet searches this appears to be a serious problem reported by thousands of people, and they all say that dodge has no solution to the problem. I believe it will only be a matter of time before serious injury or possibly death may occur, i am now prepared for this to possibly happen and will not be caught off guard again hopefully.

When parking at a hill you drive away and the tailgate opens up.then as i'm getting out of my drivewaywhich is not on a hill it did the same thing. It opens and causes it to slam down.

24 hours after purchase (200 miles driven) a chemical odor and irritant fills the cane, my 6 year old stated the air has pepper in it. The issue worsened when operating the heat/ac function causing eyes to burn, headache and disorientation. Many owners on public forum have noted same issue and commonly mention the cause to be a reaction of faulty manufactured coolant hose being dissolved by the coolant. Chrysler and dealers have been notified as continuous exposure of toxic fumes greatly increases risk of crash. No resolution has been provided to my knowledge.

When it rains and blows sideways the right passenger floor and door get filled with water. It seems to be coming out of the passenger grab bar. I do not know where it is originating from but it makes my car smell like mold if i am out of town and it rains.

Vehicle will start and rev up high and then immediately shutdown or will be driving and vehicle will shut down and lock everything up causing vehicle to slide. The vehicle was sent back to dealership to have the problem fixed but is still doing the same thing.

Vehicle low fuel light come on when the vehicle has substantial amount of fuel in tank.tank is 32 gallons and the low fuel light activates as if it had a standard 26 gallon tank.this problem has been ongoing since i purchased the vehicle in early 2017i have reported it to fca several times and been told a software update would fix it.each time they say the update will be coming in a few months but it has never happened.this is not a safety issue as far as possible life threatening, but it is a problem that should have been fixed by now.

Fuel pump getting stuck at gas stations. Yesterday it took an embarrassing 20 minutes, broken fuel housing and smashed finger to pull the pump out. Has happened several times over the 6 months i have owned this truck.

I do not feel as though the gear knob is safe. I thought i had turned the knob to park & opened my door to get out & the truck was in reverse. Gear shift sticks are much more accurate. I would suggest getting rid of the knob, or, having some sort of safety mechanism that would not allow the vehicle to move if the door opens, or something similar. Had i not realized that i was not in park soon enough, i could have ran myself over or hit something.

Having issues when pumping gas, the gas pump stops when fueling the entire time due to the fueling filler neck. If placing the fuel handle properly it locks onto the fuel neck filler and doesnt let fumes exit and chokes up. Beyond difficult to take off and to pump fuel.

Driving under cruise control 65mph (the speed limit) my speed dropped, i accelerated but truck kept slowing,i saw white smoke coming from the hood and behind the truck,i saw a warning on dash to service electronic throttle sensor, then lights on dash flashed, i found a spot on side of the road and pulled over, the engine revved and i heard valves clatter worse than i ever have, then the malfunction indicator light came on, i stopped, pulled the hood and saw flames at the firewall and top of the engine cover, there may have been flames in other areas but i shut the hood quickly and started getting things out of the truck away from the flames, called 911 and it fully engulfed the cab in minutes. The fire truck arrived within a few minutes and extinguished the flames.truck was a total loss except the bed.

I had a axel fixed unfortunately they blame it on my used of my vehicle which i take it to the rancho where is mud and rain couple days. They say that i wouldnt be warranty but that they can fix it if i pay off pocket. I asked them if i did i'll be under warranty still they say yes. Comes down that my differential gives out on me. They said that the old idealership i took for the axel had flagged it with a power trainrestrictions. I asked them what they meant by that they said they took of my warranty. So as we speak truck is getting transfer to another shop to get it fix with dodge parts. I see online that the differentials on 1500 have a recall in my year.

During heavy rain the back driver side well (underneath rear seat-storage area) fills with water.i have an appointment tomorrow to diagnosis the issue.i believe this is a problem with the rear window drain holes being plugged but not certain.only a year old and surprised this occurred.checked youtube and found this issue with older models of ram trucks.its taken a act of congress to get dealer to schedule a fix for this problem.went to local dealer and they tried to redirect to a water specialist locally.they were avoiding the warranty or just plain lazy.come on dodge you can do better.i have noticed this from the truck being parked in front of my home.i now place towels to capture water on rainy days.

Tailgate closed. Pulled out of driveway and tailgate dropped while vehicle was in motion causing damage

Sluggish turbo, then flashes throttle cable, engine light, lightning bolt light came on, them total loss of speed and power.

Vehicle is 18 months old and the a/c has gone out. This vehicle is equiped with the new freon that is verrrrrrry expensive and is very dangerous to handle. Had 2 estimates done for 3500.00 each.

I have the ecodiesel. They are prone to catching on fire, even when parked. I emailed ram and asked if it was safe to park my truck in a garage attached to the house. They would not tell me that it is safe, told me to use my own judgement.the failure rate for these engines is ridiculously high. Are you doing anything about this?

On random occasions the tail gate will fall open while the vehicle is in operation. I have spoken with other ramm owners and the problem seems to effect the 2017 and 2018 ram trucks. I have inspected and investigated the potential problem...i do not see an immediate problem, there are several online blogs and discussion threads of this problem. I believe this to be a safety issue that the manufacturer should work to resolve and offer a solution to all owners. I am reluctant to haul item in the bed of my truck due to this defect as the risk of something falling out and potentially injuring another motorist. I did purchase this vehicle used with several miles already on the vehicle , i suppose that the previous owner had the problem but was uncertian of how to resolve the problem.

I was leaving to go to hardware store..i wasbacking my trucks out and noticed my shed was opened i stopped put it in park got out to close it and when i got outthe truck rolled into my house..i couldnt get in in time to stop it....it was about 10 feet from the house

Got letter from fca ( fiat chrysler automobiles) regarding recall. But nhsta website not showing any recall. I am been checking since last 2 months. Recall regarding orc. The occupant restraint control.

Broke exhaust manifold warping causing manifold bolt to brake.

There is one recall found on the records and it states that repair is required by a dealer.will this be taken care of prior to me looking at the car?

Tailgate randomly drops by itself. Happens when you lock the truck. It does not happen all of the time. Can happen when vehicle is in motion. Tailgate lock mechanism is missing a tab that allows a plastic piece that controls the tailgate lock to travel to far thus un-latching the tailgate

Pics should tell.can't send many.battery fumes, mold

My truck rolled 6 foot backwards in my driveway. The vehicle had been parked at 9 pm the previous evening and at 10:56 the truck began to roll it took almost a minute and rolled approximately 6 feet in reverse.the truck was in park locked and empty. I have a video from my home security cameras showing this.the response i got back from my dealer said that i should be sure to apply the parking brake.

The cruise control accelerated at a huge rate past the desired speed resulting in a hydro plane which caused all sides of the vehicle to impact however only passenger bags deployed not a single driver bag. *dt

Despite recall u61/nhtsa 18v-332 being completed on my pickup- on7/23/2018i was southbound on interstate 29 between st.joseph and kansas city mo the morning of october 31, 2019. We had snow, freezing precipitation, etc the eve before and driving was tenuous at best. With my cruise control set at approximately 55 miles per hour traffic began to suddenly slowdue to numerous slide offs and accidents. I tapped my brake to slow and disengage the cruise control- and the immediate response was for the engine to rev and increase rpm,s to maintain speed. Constant attempts tobrake and over ride were unsuccessful. I deemed it impossible for the brakes to stop my vehicle! a red warning light "brake" appeared on the dash along with afew lines of message which i could not read due to keeping my eyes on the road. I somehow managed the thought process of turning the gear shift knob to the neutral position and was just barely able to get stopped before smashing into the vehicle's in front of me.the dealer who supposedly performed my recall ofreprogramming the powertrain control module is tri state dodge in maryville mo 64468. They scheduled an appointment to hook my truck to the computer to try and determine what hppened on11/7/2019

Returning from a trip to mi back to my residence in tn. As i made a turn into my subdivision i started to accelerate to my next turn when i experienced a sudden acceleration of my vehicle. I had been using the vehicles cruise control as much as possible during the 10 hour drive home so it felt familiar, like the cruise control was trying to accelerate my vehicle. As the vehicle was accelerating and i was steering the through the curves in the road i had removed my foot from the gas pedal and tried hitting the cruise control off button several times. This had no effect in stopping or slowing the acceleration. The total distance from my turn into the subdivision to the end of the road or next intersection was roughly 250-300 yards all downhill so we picked up speed quickly. By the time i realized i could not effect or slow down the acceleration by shutting off the cruise control my next thought was to hit the brakes but we had run out of road. At this point i chose a direction where i saw no houses or large trees. We hit an area where it sloped up about 30 degrees then flattened out then sloped up again coming closer to other houses. I'm guessing we were traveling about 50-55 mph when i went off the road. We finally came to a stop after hitting both slopes and the closest houses back yard deck and then into a tree. I had my family in the vehicle with me; my wife, two sons and daughter. One of my sons was taken to the hospital via ambulance for back pain and a cut above his eye which required 8-9 stitches. The rest of my family were checked out with no injuries to speak of at that time. Only at the hospital i learned of the recall for the cruise control and an explanation of the cause and effect it had. The recall explanation fit verbatim to what happened to us. We had not received any notification for the recall on this vehicle or the other dodge vehicle we own. *dt

Cruise control system disengaging during freeway operation.when attempting to re-enable cruise control system, vehicle shows cruise control system still active.cruise control system must be deactivated to re-enable cruise control.the slowing force was so noticeable, it almost felt like the truck was applying brakes, or trans brake.this issue has occurred 3-4 times withing the past week.

When using the cruise control between 30 and 45 mph, when resuming the vehicle will gain up to 10mph over the set speed and the rpms will sit at 4k until cruise control is disengaged. This occurs on inclines, declines and flat surfaces. This has been confirmed by two dealerships on this vehicle. One dealership confirmed it on other 2017 ram 1500s with 3.6l engine. Fca us llc states that this is "as designed".

The cruise control turned itself on, while trying to turn it off the gas accelerated and i was unable to disengage the cruise control.i was unable to control the speed as it kept rising, causing me to go into the ditch striking a 6 ft culvert tile and flipping my vehicle. *dsy

In two occasions, the vehicle speed locked on and the vehicle began accelerating out of control.the dash message lit up stating electronic throttle control service. A quick internet search shows it is a common problem. I know many ram owners who have the exhaust manifolds break repeatedly.both aresevere problems.

The contact owns a 2017 ram 1500. When the temperature was below 30 degrees, the rpms increased to approximately 1,100 without warning. The vehicle was taken to russell barnett ford (4055 tullahoma hwy, winchester, tn 37398) where it was diagnosed that the flash system needed to be reset and the throttle body needed to be replaced. Additionally, the dealer installed an ambient temperature sensor. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the issue and opened case number: [xxx]. The contact was referred to a resolution team. No further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was 92,003.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

The contact owns a 2017 ram 1500. While traveling approximately 35 mph, the electric throttle control sensor indicator suddenly illuminated and the vehicle suddenly accelerated to approximately 55 mph. During the incident, the rpm's continued to rev extremely high and the driver was unable to stop the vehicle when depressing the brake pedal. The driver shifted to neutral in order to stop the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to the dealer (baumann automotive in norwalk, oh), but the cause of the failure was not yet determined. The contact indicated that the tow truck driver experienced the same failure when attempting to drive the vehicle onto the flatbed truck. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 978.

Cruise control won't turn on and buttons related to cruise control are unresponsive. Last time it did work about a month ago the cruise control wouldn't turn off with the steering wheel button, had to hit the brakes. Vehicle had all recalls done, there was one related to the cruise control. Fixed one thing now all these other things are happening. That's my only complaint, there definitely needs to be another recall for this.

Tried to get recalls repaired told no loaner dont drive truck...no way to go to work

The contact owns a 2017 ram 1500. While driving 72 mph, the cruise control failed to engage. The vehicle was taken to peacock chrysler jeep dodge ram fiat (265 drivers way a, hardeeville, sc 29927, 843-418-4159) for diagnostic testing, but the failure could not be duplicated. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 7,843.

There is a water leak that is seen coming in at the driver's a-pillar and at the center overhead console.

We bought a 2017 ram 1500 on april 29, 2017. On dec 20, 2017, we took our truck to carman dodge and was told that we needed a whole new wiper unit (wiper assembly unit). This was not covered under our warranty. We had the truck for less than 8 months. Please explain to me how this piece of steel would break and not be covered under my warranty. I was told the part was "broken" and it's not a defect. After spending an hour on the phone with chrysler, they still refuse to cover this. I had to pay $390 for this new part/installation. It's beyond me how this is not considered a defect and why this would not be covered under my warranty.

I have an excess number of windshield rock chips

Sunroof has excessive leaking. It seems to be draining however under pressure of car wash droplets make it into cabin of truck. Rear passanger and driver side are where water flow is coming from and itseems like seal isn't tight. Vehicle has been tested in car wash it's currently winter and we don't have the ability to test what would happen during rain. Also happened on a flat surface stationary

The contact owns a 2017 ram 1500. When the contact attempted to roll down the driver side window, it derailed and came off track. The contact stated that the failure only occurred during icy weather. The vehicle was taken to dave dennis chrysler jeep dodge ram (4232 colonel glenn hwy, dayton, oh 45431) where they replaced the clips on the window on four different occasions. The manufacturer was contacted. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 12,000.

Vehicle has had 4 complete set of tires, plus 2.... Vehicle starts shaking and wobble while driving at 68-72mph. Ram refuses to look into this. Something i think in drive line orrear causing all these problem.something is causing tire damage..out of round and radial run out.
