I was informed at my last service that i need to have my passenger airbag seat sensor replaced and also my timing chain cover is leaking oil. I noticed on nhtsa website that both of these issues are documented. There was a safety recall for similar 2016 macan's but my vin isn't listed. Part 573 safety recall report 17v-133. There is also a manufacturer communication (#d2000.1)relating to the oil leak. Nhtsa id # 10182254. These are very expensive repairs and unclear why they shouldn't be covered by porsche when they are documented problems.

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2016 porsche macan. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 21v131000 (air bags) however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The local dealer was contacted, and it was confirmed that the part was not available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

Car has just passed 60,000 miles and the airbag light went on. I took it for an inspection at the porsche local dealership. They told me i need to replace the seat cushion, along with the module that comes with it. This is a serious safety concern that i want to report. I do not normally sit in the passenger, nor have passengers. Unfortunately that is the seat light showing airbag isn't working the right way. I did my research and found in 2017 which is right after my model had came out there was a recall but just not for my vin. I would like porsche to take a serious look at this matter because that is completely a factory and safety issue therefore i reckon a recall upon it. The dealer filed a case for me that day but i was later refused. The rep responded this issue won't only affect anyone who isn't an adult... Which means if you're a minor or a teen sitting in that seat it would cost serious safety concern in any accident?

The emergency indicator came on while i was operating my car. It says the car is too hot. Pull over to cool down' while driving in a highway. No prior indication before this warning. White smoke was coming out of the hood when i pulled over off the highway.then, indicator says 'low coolant. Fill coolant.'

Headlight lenses are gettingthousands of spider type cracks all over the lenses, diminishing headlamp light output. Car is only 4 years old with 39,750 miles.many owners having same issue. Pictures do not show that the lense becomes 'whitish' due to failure.

The passenger occupant detection sensor mat has failed at 48k miles. Taken to dealer they said it needed to be replaced. This part has been recalled on other macans of this year, but this vin is not listed in the recall. Recall # 17v133.

I obeserved cracks in my sunroof under frost conditions.cracks are present in both the stationary portion of the sunroof as well as the moving component.during extreme cold weather i further observed that the enrire interior of the sunroof was covered in heavy condensation.i reported this to my dealer's service manager who resufes to help.i know that my car was based on the audi q5 platform while had a similar recall in 2012 for defective sunroofs under extreme cold weather.i strongly believe these related.

I was driving north on interstate 75 in atlanta.there was no overpass above me and, because it was the early afternoon, there were few cars/trucks around.there was no debris flying through the air or rocks being kicked up from the pavement.inexplicably, my panoramic sunroof exploded over my head.the glass shattered and thousands of shards fell on the windscreen.(luckily, i had the windscreen closed or that glass would have covered me.)i was on my way to kentucky for the weekend but had no choice but to bring the car immediately to porsche atlanta perimeter.the agents and service employees seemed genuinely shocked at the damage and kept telling me how lucky i was...i ended up spending $600 for the rental car while they worked on the car.it took a week and a half.i talked to a consumer service representative and the service manager at porsche perimeter regarding the october '17 consumer report article about exploding sunroofs.the service manager said he would get back to me after he did some research (he didn't) and the customer service representative denied any responsibility on behalf of porsche.i was told that perhaps a preexisting "nick" in my sunroof was what compromised the glass.there was no nick, and even if there was, i think they should let people know that such a nick may result in catastrophic injury.i had to pay $3,100 for the repairs.i am extremely disappointed in porsche.this is obviously a design flaw.
