The engine spontaneously caught on fire while driving between the gas station and my home. The distance was no more than five miles and the speed was no more than 45mph.
Engine made strange noises. Took the vehicle to a mechanic that specialized in porsche. Diagnosis was intermediate shaft bearing failure.
The shoulder "guide" for the safety belt is cracked on both the driver and passenger sides. This guide would be weight bearing in any accident. The cracks compromise the integrity of the safety belt constraint. Because these cracks are on both sides of the vehicle, it should be investigated to protect riders from a quality control issue.
The front right of the car collapsed while driving on freeway.the front axile/suspension was broken resulting in total separation of the front right wheel from the car.the police report confirms that the accident "was caused possibly by metal fatigue."the accident caused the total loss of the car & substantial injuries to the driver.a likely design defect from porsche.
