I sincerely hope this will reach the right person who will assist us to get our car fixed. I received recall notice gm#14491a in july 2015 warning me that the passenger air bag inflation device may explode and cause serious injury or death to the front passenger. The warning states not to use the front passenger seat. It is now october 2015 and the on-line information on the recall states there is no fix yet for the problem. We cannot use our car to its fullest potential and will not use it to transport our grandchildren. We are approaching 90 days without the full use of our vehicle. My wife feels the car is unsafe and hesitates to drive it. I cannot buy another vehicle and we need our car. Can someone help us?

On june 16, 2015, toyota issued an expanded recall on airbags in a wide range of their vehicles. My 2006 pontiac vibe is included in the recall. It is now november 10, 2015 and no resolution is in site. This is a possibly life-threatening condition in the vehicle and nothing has been done about it. What is the nhtsa doing to hold toyota and gm accountable for this inexcusable delay? i have not had an incident yet, nor do i want to. Are we waiting for more lives to be irreparably harmed for some action to take place? i am using this complaint form as the only avenue i am aware of to file a grievance in this matter.

Takata recall, re: passenger side airbag.i am wondering when the cars affected by this recall will be able to be repaired.it is quite annoying to not allow anyone to sit in the front passenger seat of my car.i am also concerned that, in the event of an accident, the airbag may cause issues, even without a person in that seat.i received a notice dated july 2015 and have not received any further notice.i looked online, and no remedy is yet available.

I received the second safety recall (nhtsa id number 19v627) regarding the passenger side airbag for this vehicle in october, 2019 and there still is no resolution. Don't you think that it's time for nhtsa to press this issue with gm and/or takata?
Hello,i tried calling my local dealership today to replace my airbag, which was recalled by takata. Gm notified me that the recall was issued on may 13, 2015, but the recall is still incomplete and the remedy is not available as of today. I verified that this statement was correct using the nhtsa website. I'm writing today because i don't understand how a remedy hasn't been identified by gm after five years of knowing that the airbag was recalled and needed to be replaced. This is unacceptable.thank you for taking the time to read this message, i would greatly appreciate your help.best, jocelyn

I bought this car couple years ago. I am at about 150000 miles . My check engine light has been turning on and off this whole year. Couple weeks ago i got 2 opinions to.get it chevked.out. The first spot gave me a estimate of about 2500 & second place about the same. They told me that there was a glitxh in the 2006 pontiac vibe transmissuon & computer. I drive about an hour to work everyday. I do not feel any difference when i drive but i definitely do not feel safe with the check engine light. Sometimes it will turn off but it is currently on again. I have checked gas cap & it secure. I have not even had this car for a long time. The check light should not be coming on at 150000. This is the only car that my.mother and i have & we definitely can not afford to buy or fix. Takata recalli have been doing research and i have not got into an acciden but i do not want my airbags to not work if something were to happen..this is not safe. I need this fixed.

Re: gm safety recall 14491, issued july 2015. My car has not been in an accident to reveal whether or not it has this problem.i'm filing this complaint to report the following information received over the phone today (oct. 20, 2015) from my local gm dealer's service dept.: gm has told its dealerships that the parts for this recall will not be available until "the second quarter of 2016."i did not misunderstand the service person; he read this statement to me at two different points in our conversation.this delay is completely unacceptable for a life-safety recall.thank you.

The latest recall on takata air bags was dated october (ref,:id 19v627). Gm still doesn't have parts for this recall. This is pathetic. What are you doing about this?
It has been 5 months since an important safety recall notice has been issued for the passenger side air bag and gm still has no proposed solution or time line to fix the problem.being forced to announce a recall and then endlessly delaying the fix to some unknown date in the future is in effect a flat out refusal.

I received a recall notice for the august 2019 front passenger airbag assembly.i have called the dealer several times, my last call today 7/6/2020 and i am always told they do not have the parts to fix this safety defect.when i called gm's customer assistance center i was given the same answer.i believe that 11 months is an unreasonable amount of time to wait for a repair of a safety defect.are you aware that gm is not fixing these problems?

Takata recall- this recall is now approximately 1.5 years from the time it was issued.approximately 6 months ago (a full year after the recall was issued) i finally recieved a notice from pontiac informing of this recall.in bold-underline text, it stated "until the repari is performed, the front passenger seat should not be occupied".i have been patiently waiting and following this directive since i have received this letter, however it is a very significant inconvience to my family of four.i do not know how pontiac/gm expects us to utilize the car i have purchased from them if i cannot use the front passenger seat.i called today and spoke to a representative at pontiac/gm and was told that there is no information that they can provide and no timelines available. I understand that this is a large recall and it affects a lot of vehicles, but frankly that is not my problem.the responsible parties need to put all the resources (time, money, man-power) they can at producing the needed parts to fix this issue.any assistance that can be provided to expedite this process would be appreciated.
Was told that spring inside steering had shorted. And just so happens a recall was issued on that problem but not in my vehicle and i want to know how you can justify not fixing my airbag which was removed by the mechanics at the dealership that wants me to pay a thousand dollars to replace a bag which may be defective anyway. Due to information on the t.v. And the web shards my be inside the bags.

We own a pontiac vibe, my friend owned a toyota matrix. These cars were built side by side by gm. This is why the gm's of the usa will lose to toyota in sales because the matrix recall was finished in feb 2020. My vibe is still waiting for the new air bag. I went to toyota dealer and they agree the matrix and vibe use same parts. They can not perform recall because gm has to do it. Why do we have to wait years for a fix.nysi states toyota. When i try to sell or trade car, they want recalls fixed. Terrible customer service.

I was driving my 2006 pontiac vibe south on interstate 79 in rural pennslvania when the brakes soundly failed to respond. I stepped on the peddle but the car failed to slow, and the cruise control failed to disengage. To avoid an hitting the car in front of me, i swerved into the shoulder, continuing to apply the brakes. As i tried to slow, the car fishtailed and i skidded into the interstate again and hit the opposite guardrail. Antilock brakes did not engage. Finally, when i crashed, the car's airbag failed to deploy, despite the entire front end of the car caving in (resulting in a total loss of the car). Fortunately, i was wearing my seat belt and did not strike another vehicle, so none one was hurt, but the car was a total loss.

I received notice in june or july by mail that there was a recall on the takata airbag and that i needed to take it to the dealership to have the recall serviced.i took my perfectly good vehicle in for recall and was sent home with the lid over the aribag not secure and partially open.i received another recall for the same takata airbag again a few months later.i called gmc to complain that i do not feel safe as the airbag is not secure in the vehicle and i should not have been allowed to leave the dealership with this unsafe vehicle.because the airbag is not secure i believe that if i hit a pothole or a bump the airbag will explode and cause "blindness" or death as this was stated on the airbag recall.i have taken my car to the dealership and each time the airbag gets worse and they can't fix it.i am very afraid to drive the car as i transport my young children and elderly mother.the recalled airbag is not secure and every time there is a recall on the airbag it gets worse.i have been told by several mechanics that the airbag is making the vehicle unsafe to drive.i am terrified and have missed several days of work dealing with this issue.
A compliant about a recall. A few months ago, my son took the 2006 pontiac vibe into a chevrolet dealer in mayfield, kentucky for a recall. Your records should show what was done. I do not have access to closed recalls.a few days later the air bag light came on and i just got though taking the vibe into a dealership a week ago, courtesy buick. They said it needed a communication module 1.5/6583. After spending 900+ dollars on the part and labor, they then told us that a steering wheel airbag coil assembly was also shorted out. They did not tell us that the original part might not fix the problem. It would be another 300+ dollars for this part and they could not say that would fix the air bag. Our air bags were functioning until the new part was put into the old system. We did not spend more money to fix the vibe. We also have a friend who has a vibe and he was in an accident and the air bags did not deploy. There are too many problems with air bags. We need to know that a safety feature is a safety feature. Lives are at stake. What can i do to help fix this problem. Tell friends complaints to ?. Thank you.

My 2006 pontiac vibe began shifting harshly and the check engine light came on. This occurred beginning before thanksgiving.i received a recall notice on the vehicle earlier in november, stating these were 2 of the signs of the defective part.i called the 800 number on the recall notice and the pontiac representative told me the repair work had not begun on the recall, the representative also told me my car was not one being recalled. I asked why i received the recall notice and she told me all vibe owners got the notice and i would receive another notice when the parts were available. I called a local pontiac dealership and was informed this condition was not unsafe or detrimental to the vehicle.my vehicle has not stalled, nor has the engine died. I have not driven the car of the past week - i own an extra car. I just got off the phone with the pontiac 800 number again and after getting the same "be patient" response, i asked to speak with a supervisor - this time i was informed my car was still under powertrain warranty and should take it to the closest pontiac dealership. My complaint is, 1) why did the first pontiac rep. Give me the stall and delay answer before thanksgiving and i received the same answer today 12-4-10 until i spoke with a supervisor? 2) why aren't the parts available for an immediate fix if the company knows it's a defective part? i also own a 2008 pontiac vibe with the same recall notice that i have not experienced any problems to date.i would have taken the car in for repair before thanksgiving if i were given the correct information.

2006 pontiac vibe was going in city look down to see my car was over heating pulled over to side of road to look under hood found that the cooling fan had fallen off . And the fan fuse was blown my car is only 5yrs old the has to be a defect my machine told my the baring or bushing were gone in the motor. If i didn't happen to notice the problem i would have blown the engine i am also wondering if this is part of the recall for the cooling problem that has to do withsensors.
I own a 2006 pontiac vibe i purchased from a dealer in 2009. I started having issues with it shifting harshly, rolling backward on hills at a stop as a manual would within approximately 2 months after i purchased it. I had it looked ata local dealer but they could not find the problem so i just have been driving it as it is. Now yesterday i was driving up a hill and the car completely stalled so i quickly put it in park, turned it off and back on put it in gear and it took off. I was fortunate there was no traffic in those few minutes. I did receive an advisory letter last fall so i called gm on the issue and they proceeded to tell me that everyone that owns a vibe got those letters and my car was not one under recall but since i was having issues i was to take it into a dealer to be fixed at my own expense and fill out a reimbursement form. Id like to know how is it that my car just happened to havethe same issues that was listed in the recall advisory but isn't included in the recall? and how is it that they keep telling us they do nothave the parts available. I even spoke to one dealer that told me he was informed by gm when he spoke to them recently that if someone's car has serious issues such as stall out and wont start that we are to drop it and leave it until the part is available. I just want to drive my car safely especially since i am still making payments, but it seems that i am getting a runaround from gm because there are too many cars involved and they want us to pay for the problem ourselves.
No warning. Driving on hwy. When i thought i seen the dash flash, went over hill lost all power & ability to maneuver vehicle on icy hwy. Vehicle had shut down. Was able to use four ways to signal traffic i was having an emergency & coaxed car to side of the road with my vehicle still in the lane of traffic. Needed to be towed. Totally inoperable. I found out the problem is a powertrain control module (pcm) which has a service bulletin out on it, #050604074; nhtsa item # 10020810. This is a safety hazard as if this would have happened further into my trip to work i would have been in heavy volume traffic with no chance at evasive driving. The vehicle becomes unable to be drove while moving. A person with less driving ability would probably crashed due to not being able to turn wheel, etc. This needs to be addressed before someone gets killed.
P0741 code has been very common with newer pontiac vibes and cars alike. Im just wondering if this can investigated as a faulty part or low quality part all together.
Rear part of the heat shield below gas tank fell down on exhaust pipe causing a rattle between gas tank and pipe. The part that holds up the rear of the heat shield is plastic clip with a metal nut inside that attaches to the gas tank strap and when it fell off the metal nut was rusted and still attached to the shield where as the front part of the shield has metal tabs the are used to attach the shield to.

I purchased a used pontiac vibewith approximately 30,000 miles.we started noticing that the carwas shifting roughly and making strange sounds last summer.we have been following regular service with our mechanic, who could not find anything wrong.in sept of 2010 , we received the recall about the pcm from gm.part of the recall mentioned ' harsh transmission shifting'.i called the customer service number for pontiac three times over the coursefour months, asking when the recall would occur; i received no answer.i finally took the car into an authorized gm dealer ( somewhat out of my neighborhood since they have mostly gone out of business.)he informed me that i would most likely need to replace the transmissionat a cost of $6500.i asked if the pcm would be responsible.he replied that it would cost $5000 to really diagnose the cause of the transmission failure, and that i am financially responsible.i did not agree to the work.is there not some set time limit that the manufacturer has to respond?we have had the care in the garage for three months waiting for gm

I own a 2006 pontiac vibe. Purchased used with <30,000 miles. Now has about 42,000 miles. On a highway trip, check engine light came on. Stopped at next gas station, checked all fluids, belts, etc., nothing amiss. Drove home and had local autozone scan codes for me. Found p2716 code, "pressure control solenoid" or pcm module. Check engine light was off at this time. Took car to pontiac dealer, manager said that solenoids sometimes stick. Replacing solenoid would cost $500 to $600 . Have read many other complaints about this condition when searching web boards.

Rear brake pipe, near end of it.however, my car has a split service brake system.(one hydraulic circuit for brakes in l. Rear and r. Front; and, another circuit for brakes in r. Rear and l.

Earlier last week i started hearing a clicking sound coming from behind my glovebox, and upon removing the glovebox discovered that the door that allows inside and outside air into the actuator (i think this is correct) is clicking open and closed.after searching online for similar problems on pontiac vibes, i discovered that literally hundreds if not more people are having this same problem.what am i supposed to do, and why do so many people have the same problem?nothing about the occurrence suggests anything but a defective part to me.

Engine accelerates when brake is applied.intermittint problem.
I accelerate in anticipation of a hill on ca-13 in oakland california. When i near the crest of the hill, i take my foot off the gas, as the acceleration continues and the revs shoot from ~3000 to ~4500 - 5000. I need to switch the car to neutral to correct this. Nothing else seems to bring down the revs. I do this drive once a day and have since 2006, it happens maybe every 2 months, so maybe 1 in 50 times i go over this particular hill. I believe the combination of downhill, acceleration, and uphill messes up the throttle controls somehow.

The contact owns a 2006 pontiac vibe.the contact stated that as he opened the front driver side window, there was an abnormal scraping from the door panel. As he closed the window, the noise recurred and the contact noticed a groove scratched into the window.the failure persisted and the groove on the window progressively became worse. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where they were unable to diagnose the failure.the vehicle was not repaired and the failure persisted.the failure mileage was 35,000 and the current mileage was 82,000.
The drivers side window does not roll down all the way, and when you roll it down as far as it goes, it seems to interfere with the door mechanism so you cannot open the door (it feels like the window will break if you force the door open).i have tightened the screws that hold the door hinge onto the door, and that seemed to help, but still have a problem.
Over the past few months, the driver's side window would rattle going up or down and then progressed to not going completely up or completely down when i pressed the button. On 3/7/2008 i rolled down my window in the evening and when i went to roll it back up it appeared 'off it track.' it would roll up partially an it was at an angle. I did not want to force it because it appeared that the glass was stressed and was close to shattering.
