My son was driving my car in normal, dry weather conditions. He was on a road with a speed limit of 40mph.he bumped a curb with the right front tire, then adjusted the car away from the curb and proceeded down the road. About 30 feet later, the side-curtain airbags deployed.he was obviously shaken-up by the explosion of the bags deploying which has caused rining in his ears, but luckily, he was checked out by emt's who responded to the scene.i have no damage on my vehicle, no flat tire, bent rims, nothing.just deployed side-curtain airbags in a now undriveable vehicle.

The airbag light has been turning on an off intermittently for several months now.we have also more recently been having issues with the car starting and a smell of gas.on 5/30/14 we took the vehicle to a local service center who informed us of the recall for the fuel pump and also a recall for the passenger pressure sensor (pps).we set up an appointment with the local dealer, gainesville buick gmc.during the call we informed the service advisor [xxx]about both issues and the recalls.on 6/03/14 we took the vehicle to the appointment and again informed [xxx]. Murscoe about the issue and recalls.hours later we received a call informing us that the fuel pump was indeed faulty and would be covered under a "special warranty", but the part would have to be ordered. We were also told that the airbag issue was not covered and would cost $163 to repair.we declined service for the airbag at that time so that we could further research the issue.we picking up the vehicle at the dealership we were charged a $60 diagnostic fee.we were not informed before hand that they would be charging this fee.they would not release out vehicle until we paid the fee.after returning 6/05/14 we brought in the recall notice which listed out vehicle as a potentially affected until and the dealer still refused to perform the thirty minute, labor only repair.the receipt provided by the dealer clearly states the same issue and remedy as indicated by the recall notice gm07174.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

There is an air bag warning light that comes on when i turn on the car. A gm dealer looked at the codes and it happens to concern the passenger presence module as has been recalled, just not for my vehicle (recall #07v344000).when a passenger is in the seat, the presence module does not work and the airbag does not turn to on.
The passenger air bag sensor is not working properly.when i start the car, it says to service my airbag.if someone is sitting in the passenger seat, the signal that the air bag is active sometimes turns on, and sometimes doesn't.
I purchased this vehicle a month ago and it was working fine. Multiple times since then the stabilitrak light comes on and off at random and my airbag doesn't work on the passenger side randomly. It goes on and off and says service airbag, but of course when i get it to a mechanic, it is not happening at that time so they can't do anything about it. I am worried about the safety in my car. I checked for recalls and there are recalls for the exact same issues i am experiencing with the airbag, but it does not cover my vin, apparently. There is no rhyme or reason to when these lights come on and when things work and when they don't, it is completely at random.
When i turn my car on, it says, "stabilitrak off" , "service traction control" , "service air bag" , "service stabilitrak".
For one passenger air bag sensor has been working on and off for last couple years and now hasn't been working for last month! they keep telling me my vin is not in recall? now both airbags are not working? 2 the throttle position sensor cause my wife to almost get killed when it failed and said engine power reduced being displayed and would not accelerate while trying to cross an intersection! we replaced that ourselves. But we've been very disappointed in this vehicle with all the safety issues not being covered!

"takata recall" we just got this car it just started leaking around the fuel tank.my husband believes the problem is with the fuel pump.the fuel gage has not worked since before we got the car.it came from windowrock, arizona, was sold to a dealership in farmington, nm.then it was sold to another dealership in kirtland, nm.we have it now and have had it almost a month.the airbag warning lights and the check engine lights are on.the check engine light error is something to do with the catalytic converter.i was looking for information about the fuel pump location and how to change it out.i saw something about the fuel pump leaks and airbag problems being a recall issue with this year, make and model out of arizona.we don't know if there have been previous issues with this problem on this vehicle.we want to be sure that our car is not going to catch fire due to this fuel pump leak, especially if it is a vehicle that should have been recalled and no one heeded that recall or they were not aware of the recall.we want to be and stay safe, and to have a safe vehicle.the leak was noticed when the 2007 pontiac torrent was parked.it leaks more and quite a lot of gas while it is parked or not moving such as at traffic lights, while waiting for the light to change.it may be leaking while it is traveling down the street, highway etc. We don't know for sure.while parked at the grocery store for about 15 to 20 minutes it leaked a puddle of gas about the size of a basketball around onto the parking lot where we were just parked in a space.this seems like a dangerous or potentially dangerous situation.should this have been one of the vehicles recalled?we really need this unsafe situation corrected so that it doesn't catch fire and one of us or someone else be seriously injured or die in a car fire from this problem.
The air bag for the passenger set will turn on and off at various times. It will be off when someone is sitting in the seat and on when nobody is in the seat. It does it sitting still as well as moving.the traction stabilizer will turn off when it is dry outside and i am driving.my key will get stuck in the ignition for about30 to 45 minutes before i can pull it out.. I have to either sit in my car for that length of time or i have to leave the key in the ignition for that length of time and risk someone stealing my car.
My passenger seatbelt warning light stays on when i have a passenger in the front. The ignition switch clicks constantly. The key keeps getting stuck in the ignition switch. The car engine skips whenever i slow down or accelerate. All of this happens whenever i'm driving highway or in town except for when i'm parked and the keys gets stuck in the ignition switch. Shortly after warranty expired, a service air bag warning started to appear. We went to the dealer and they told us that the front passenger sensor was bad and that the entire seat would need to be replaced to fix the problem. We were not going to pay to replace the entire seat.recently we discovered gm recall bulletin 07174 dated august 2007 which includes this vehicle's vin. However, the dealership stated that our vehicle is not included in any recalls. This recall notice suggest that "dealers are to reprogram the seat's electric control unit (ecu) to correct the problem. No replacement parts are required.our dealer refuses to reprogram the ecu unless we pay for the reprogramming and that he was not going to guarantee a price for the repair.
Took my vehicle to a dealer to diagnose why my passenger airbag would turn off intermittently, i was told the passenger presence module is failing. After a short search it seems this is a common problem for this make/model.anything that could cause airbags to not deploy in an accident is a huge safety concern. Since presence modules are integral to occupant safety they should be good for the lifetime of the vehicle.the large amount of other owners who have also had this same issue leads me to believe that the original parts were faulty.
I have a constant warning to service passenger airbag. I believe after reading several complaints that the sensor is a known issue with the pontiac torrent. I took to the dealer and they said my vin does not fall in the recall, however that service bulletins released clearly show that many people are having this same issue. I was told that they could not repair at no cost and that i could pay to replace sensor at my cost. Not very happy, as i have grandchildren who are big enough to ride up front, not to mention just regular passengers and i do not think the airbag would work, when it may need too. Fix this..gm.... I am not happy about the run around they are giving us owners over something so important. I wonder if there has been accidents and it has come back on gm for the a no deployed front passenger airbag issue!

When you sit in the passenger seat the air bag does not turn on. There is a similar recall already out there for the same issue but my vehicle is not part of the recall according to the dealer.

Passenger air bag stays off when person sits in front passenger seat.
We own a 2007 pontiac torrent.the air bag warning light first started illuminating almost a year ago (may 2010). At first, it would illuminate when the front seat passenger would lean forward to adjust the radio or open the glove box.soon it began happening more often.and now, when i start the car, the light comes on and remains lit even when i don't have a front passenger.the dealer reports to us that this is not a common problem, and there isn't a recall on the air bag problem.if we were to have a crash, we wonder if the passenger seat wouldn't have the air bags deployed.
Airbag service light has been on for many months.it is cost prohibitive to have serviced since the dealership says it will cost about $1000 to run it down but that it is probably a sensor in the passenger seat.stabilitrak service light comes on intermittently while driving but doesn't seem to affect the driving and check engine light has appeared at the same time as stabilitrak light started appearing.check engine code is egr value needs replaced.my torrent has 144,000 miles.for many months the ignition will not turn all the way off most of the time.sometimes it turns off fine and other times i have to wait for a series of clicks before it will turn off all the way.i don't know if it is a computer issue or an ignition issue.

A 200 pound man sitting in the seat should render the airbag operational, however, it stays off and light on. This is a severe safety issue that in the event of a crash the airbag will not deploy/operate correctly.its ridiculous and standard for gm to not acknowledge this is a problem and fixing it until someone is killed. This is not an expense a vehicle owner should be expected to pay when it is an obvious/ blatantdefect.

Dash indicator for passenger seat airbag, which i believe affects all airbags in this vehicle, 2007 pontiac torrent, turns on when vehicle is started. I called local dealer and was told the repair was done shortly after it was issued. Regardless of that fact the sensor has failed again and is a serious safety issue. The manufacturer of this sensor ultimately should be responsible for repair or replacement, the selling dealer should assume that responsibility.please advise of my rights in this matter.
I have a sensor failure with my passenger seat srs system and do not understand why a recall was issued(nhtsa campaign number: 07v344000) which did not include my vehicle. The recall issued only affected 437 units.the sensor indicates that no one is sitting in the passenger seat whenever the passenger moves around. The passenger weighs in excess of 120 lbs and never loses contact with the seat. This car only has 54000 miles on it. The sensor should not fail.

The passenger seat modular was replaced 7-20-2015.i kept old modular.passenger lite would come on randomaly whenstopped when moving with someone in seat when no one in seat.had seat reprogramed more than once.finally had it replaced and it has never done it again...the problem started in early 2015

For sometime my vehicle airbags have been showing a warning that they are not working and need to be serviced ,i called pontiac because after researching this i saw that they had a recall on some of thesevehicles but they said mine is not affected by this .well apparently it is because it isn't working correctly and they don't want to be the one to have it checked ,i have to do it at my expense or just wait for an accident to find out.
My wife and i were driving to tinker air force base when the service air bag light came on. We completed our grocery shopping and left to make the 30 plus mile trip home. The light continued to be on and i went to the dealer ship and they told me that there were no recalls for my vin number. I even contacted pontiac and they too said my vehicle was not on the recall list and that they could not help me. So i still do not have a solution to this known problem that pontiac refuses to service.

My key keeps getting stuck inside the ignition switch. I've cleaned it out, had a new key made and still gets lock inside while in use.
I was on my way to work and i started smelling gas that was not my first time but the car had never just stopped on me before but this time it cut off and would not start back up so i thought it was my starter but i know now that it was not my starter by what gm said about the recall i surrendered my carcause i could not afford to make my payments and get my car repairedif i would have known what was going on i would have been took it to the dealer i spent a lot of money on that car i feel that it is only right for me to be reimbursed for now i am without a car so i need some kind of reimbursement.
"ignition switch" i am continually having problems with my ignition switch getting stuck, it takes a few minutes but there is usually a click and then it releases.it appears that this is an ongoing problem.my concern is that i am not sure what actually needs to be fixed.i have read enough reviews that it could not be the ignition switch that actually needs to be fixed, can you tell me what is it that has to be repaired so that i do not have to sink tons of money in trying to find out what is actually wrong with it.i have 176,000 miles on my car and i have loved this car.it is and has been a great car, not perfect but a great car.i think in the life of the car i have had to replace a faulty spark plug, a window motor on the drivers side and it is still sluggish so i don't think that was the only problem.the rear window wiper motor has went out.but i would like to at least know what it is that i need to repair on the ignition so i can get it properly repaired the first time as i see other people have had multiple items repaired and it was not really what needed to be.i also have problems with the stable track continually coming on, it will stay on for a while and then it will turn off and then come back on again.thank-you for your help.
There is no recalls on my torrent but my car in power redude mode and i had it fixed then i came back a week later and stabilitytrak and tracking control and abs lights i fix it and they comes back
After driving the stabliltrak comes on, traction comes on, powering engine down comes on. Vehicle loses power.
Service stabilitrak and traction control come on always while on the freeway. Traction control will turn itself off. Not long after these lights come on, the check engine light will come on as well. All seem to clear themselves after a couple of days. By the time i am able to have it ran for a code the lights are already off. This has happened on several occasion and very concerned about transporting my [xxx] year old in this car. Wiring harness between body & driver's door is too short, & subsequently stretches, frays & breaks the wires, resulting in failure of various door components: power door lock, power window, side mirror control, door chime, & door stereo speakers. The passenger door probably has same issue, but since this door is used less, the issue occurs less often.there are numerous instances of this from hundreds of pontiac torrent owners, with photos, on the internet.it is very disconcerting to know that so many others have had the same exact problem, yet there is no gm recall to correct a problem that is a definite design flaw, and not user error or other outside influence such as weather. Since i also had a problem with my sunroof not closing and sealing properly, i thought initially that the electrical problems in the door were from water running down into the door and shorting something out. (since there was also no recall on the sunroof, it would have cost over $800 to fix it. I had to caulk the seams with acrylic for outdoor use. I'm sure it will be a temporary fix due to the elements of sun and rain). Many owners of this vehicle challenged gm to repair or recall, to no avail. One dealer even blamed it on cold weather, but i live in florida which is hot most of the time. Gm social media bloggers often chimed in to contact gm, but when owners did so, nothing really happened regarding helping out owners with the issue nor the cost of repair. Many owners actually paid for or bought completely new wiring harnesses, which are very expensive for the part as well as expensive for the in-door installation. Others spliced their own wires to effect a solution.this issue is on a 2007 torrent, but other years of that vehicle 2006-2009 are also affected, since they share many common components.

First appeared as "service stabilitrak", which resulted in the engine powering down while i was driving.not very safe.i contacted gm and they had the dealer repair it by replacing the throttle body, stating this was a common problem but they did not issue a recall.it appeared to be okay for about a year, then the problem resurfaced.about 4 months ago, the "service stabilitrak" light came on again and the transmission began acting up (appeared to be slipping between 2nd and 3rd gear).after some research, we learned, again, that this is a common issue with the torrents.we replaced the egr valve, reset the computer and the problem seemed to have resolved again.now, the "service stabilitrak" light is on yet again, my radio has stopped working, and the "service brake system" light comes on and off.this is very frustrating.clearly there is a problem with the torrent and chevy equinox which gm is well aware of.they refuse to issue a recall to rectify the problem and are allowing the cost for all of these repairs to lay with the consumer.something must be done about this.we do not have the money to purchase a new vehicle, nor do we have the funds to continually make repairs.there needs to be some accountability here by gm.
My passenger seatbelt warning light stays on when i have a passenger in the front. The ignition switch clicks constantly. The key keeps getting stuck in the ignition switch. The car engine skips whenever i slow down or accelerate. All of this happens whenever i'm driving highway or in town except for when i'm parked and the keys gets stuck in the ignition switch. Please help!!
The date is the first incident, had several after that.i owned the vehicle 8 days when the stabilization, traction control, anti-lock brake lights came on, so i took it to the dealer, they said it was a speed sensor, they would order part.i took it back to get it fixed, 30 minutes later same problem again, lights came on, so i went back, they assured me they fixed it and it was a quote "lights only" issue.a month later took it back again and low and behold the same code came up again, so either they fixed a bad part with a bad part or else they didn't really fix it.it also had been running in all wheel drive the whole time, which they told me it wasn't the first time.i still didn't feel safe so took it to a different dealer and they checked and said the steering computer needed reprogrammed, but on mygmlink.com it said they replaced the steering computer and the gas cap.here it is 02/06/08 and another issue came up, dead battery.

The vehicle was taken to the local dealer (elhart gmc, 822 chicago dr., holland mi) who was unable to diagnose the cause of the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 145,000.
Air bag service light illuminated on the dash. Service air bag message appeared in drivers information center. Also note that the air bag will go on off intermittently with someone in the seat. A 200 pound man sitting in the seat should render the airbag operational, however, it stays off and light on. This is a severe safety issue that in the event of a crash the airbag will not deploy/operate correctly.its ridiculous and standard for gm to not acknowledge this is a problem and fixing it until someone is killed. This is not an expense a vehicle owner should be expected to pay when it is an obvious/ blatantdefect.
I cut my car on this morning and the service traction control, service stabilitrac, and abs lights were on.they stayed on throughout my drive to take my son to and from school.i just got this vehicle last night and the dealer said everything checked out fine as car was placed "gm on a roll inspection".it was checked 2 days in a row and i have the paperwork showing as nothing wrong.i check on it today online and it seems to be a common issue with this vehicle.

What i am and have been going through reads very much like problems with other gmc products that have been recalled.
Vehicle would not start. Jumped battery to get started. Stability control light came on. Steering wheel would not turn. Shut off after letting run to charge battery. Shuit off. Vehicle will not restart and the key cannot be removed from the ignition. This is the second time this happened. The last time the power steering motor control and the stability control module was replaced. All this while vehicle was parked in my garage. Vehicle has 26000 miles on it.
I own a 2007 pontiac torrent and i was having trouble with my drivers side window not working and also the auto lock on my door(even with the keyless remote.it turns out that the wire harness had 4 broken wires and 1 more that was almost broken all the way thru.we were told that we were lucky that a fire did not start!

The wires which power the door window motor, electric locks and door speakers broke inside the rubber boot assembly which attaches the wire harness to the door and the door frame. Performing an online google search indicates this problem is endemic to the 2006-2009 pontiac torrent. I have repaired the wires in the harness but they broke again, january of 2015. I feel this is a safety issue that needs to be investigated.

Key does not always come out of the ignition. Vehicle is driven and when stopped the key will not come out. Steering wheel is not locked. When i called the dealership and told them the problem, i was told that i need to stop the vehicle always on a flat surface, put the car in park, pull the emergency brake , then turn the key and it will come out that way. That is ridiculous and it doesn't work.

For approx.2 year i have been having numerous problems with the stabiltrak, abs, and check engine lights coming on.i have had it to the dealer multiple times with no resolution.i recently got it back again 2 weeks ago following repair.i now have an issue with the vehicle skipping out and jerking the car like it wants to quit when getting to a speed of 35 to 40 mph.it is again in the shop for repair.i was told that the problem 2 weeks ago was a spark plug and wire, and had to pay to get it fixed, and it is still not repaired.i have been taking this vehicle in for repair for 2 years while it was still under warranty and now it is in the extended warranty which there is a deductible each time.this should have been resolved a long time ago and it is still not repaired.there is only 36500 miles on this car and should not be having such severe issues.why has this not been recalled?it appears many customers are having the same issues for some time now.
When turning the vehicle off the key sticks and will not return to the off position and cannot be removed. Usually restarting and driving the vehicle a few feet will allow the key to be turned to off and removed. This has occurred multiple times and is extremely annoying.

Hi there,i am having trouble with the ignition switch on my 2007 pontiac torrent.this happens numerous times throughout the month. The car will shut off on it's own, while driving and i have had to coast to the shoulder and put the car in park and re start it, this is very dangerous i have also almost been hit a few times trying to coast to the shoulder. I also have the problem when i am parking and put it in park the key will not come out of the ignition. I have to drive around, back up , turn it off and on, etc just to get it out. I have called general motors multiple times trying to have them fix this issue but they are very rude and disrespectful. This is not safe for me as this is my only vehicle and i am a full time college student.

August 12 2015 the car doors began locking and unlocking on their own.the speedometer/tachometer began acting crazily on their own. A short time after, having not had steering issues before driver was shocked because the steering wheel malfunctioned (if she turned it left the steering wheel turned but not the vehicle, it kept going straight). She lowered speed and eventually the steering wheel started working.warning lights all wheel drive abs service engine light had come on when the problem occurred. Husband drove car that night but couldn't find anything wrong. They took car to calkins pontiac in burnham pa august 20th.calkins had it a few days.invoices can be sent.calkins found nothing but codes stored in history u0073 u0131 b3006 u0102.they couldn't reinvent the problem.they took car home husband was driving it when the same problems reoccurred. Car took a hard right turn as if someone reached over and yanked the car to the right. The wheel would not turn back. It locked up.before almost hitting guard rail the wheel went back to normal. Up the road it happened again several times.they took car to calkins again on 25th.they paid $490 this time to replace the body control module. Sept 11, 12th, 17th however same problems happened. At this point the car can't be driven due to safety but owners need to use vehicle. It has only 99,157 miles on it. The website carcomplaints.com has many pages of similar complaints filed by drivers.(www.carcomplaints.com/pontiac/torrent/2007/steering/sterring.shtml).this is a serious safety steering issue. Who can assist to have this fixed so vehicle can be used? we can't trade it in and risk someone else losing their life. Our last recent visit to calkins showed the same code history.on 10/13 calkins said they would get back to us the next day but as of today 10/20 they never contacted us.
On the morning of oct.27, 2010 while my husband was trying to leave from pt and come home of post the car would not start (pontiac torrent) he had to have it jumped just to start it. After the car turned over he found that there was no power steering. He managed to get it to the dealers that we have bought it from to see what the problem/s were. We now have no car for work doctors and to get the things we need. The car (pontiac torrent) is now at the dealership to see what's wrong and if they can fix the problem.
While driving approx. 70 mph on interstate i-75 a light came on the dash that stated stabilitrak is off and engine speed will be reduced at which time the car jerked to a sudden slow down almost causing an accident with the car behind me.car was shut off and restarted then seemed to run fine again until today 1-14 in which it did the same thing again.this is very dangerous, as i thought this may be a "safe" car for my child to drive.this is not the case.in looking on the internet, it seems that several if not hundreds of people are having this same issue.why hasn't it been recalled?does she have to be in an accident before something can be done???
I felt the car shutter a little and then the steering locked up while driving home on the highway. Also, the stability/traction light stays on. My car only has 21000 miles on it and is still practically new.
I have a 2007 pontiac torrent (chevrolet equinox) that experiences wild engine / transmission / braking behavior during rain storms.the behavior is the engine cut-out + antilock brakes all at once, all four tires while driving on the highway in rain.it has happened about 20 times, i have had the car since new and it has 89,000 miles on it now. This is the first year of stability control in this vehicle and i havebrought it into the dealer several times and they cannot fix it.the mechanic said they get about one complaint a week like mine, and gm refuses to issue updated software for the stability control, however the mechanic said he knows there is a fix for the 2009 cars.
The stabilitrak and traction control warnings started coming on last august 2012. The vehicle stayed parked most of 2012 since the problem persist and we didn't have means to pay for a repair like that. We got a letter in october 2012 about a recall due to a faulty plastic part on the fuel tank. We had that replaced and thought the warnings would go away but they haven't. I went back to work in january 2013, and the problem has only gotten worst! this is our primary car now and it's scary when you have two kids in the vehicle and the engine power is reduced while on the freeway! we almost got into a number of accidents because of this problem. Just today 02/25/2013, the vehicle started feeling like it was going to die. I had to pull over on the freeway, turn off the car and wait for it to settle down. The vehicle started up as if nothing happened. There is no reason why this should happen in california when the weather conditions are no where near triggering the controls. I've read a lot of reviews of other consumers having the same problem with their 2007 pontiac torrent and i hope gm is prepared for another recall!
My vehicle's brakes began to lock as i was driving down the interstate at 70 mph.this happened when i tapped the brakes to turn off the cruise control.it happened again on the interstate 2 days later in stop-and-go traffic - brakes lock while the vehicle is moving.let off the gas and it stops itself with very bad shaking.this is a very serious problem.it has happened every day since under stop-and-start conditions and it gets worse and worse until the brakes are completely locked.vehicle will not move once brakes lock unless it is turned off for approximately 30 minutes."service traction control" light comes on after this happens.abs sensor has been replaced for $700 to no avail.in addition, i see a recall for the gas tank.i also had that problem about a year ago - gas was leaking from my tank, but since i live in louisiana the recall does not apply to my vehicle.that was a $1000 repair, but that's better than it catching on fire, i suppose.
2007 pontiac torrent awd. Having failure of abs, stabil-trac system, awd. Problem is intermittent. Occurs randomly. Dealer said it was an "electrical problem" however, all of their solutions have yet to fix the issue. Problem has been occurring since sept 2010, dealership has had car 3 times, and has not resolved. The latest incident occurred while going down a steep hill, and the failure occurred, the car slid down the hill (no abs, no awd, no stability control), almost hit another car at the bottom of the hill due to the failure of the above.
On the evening of 10/28/10 started the my 2007 pontiac torrent to put into the garage for the evening. I started the car and the "traction control off" notice appeared on my driver information center. I thought i might have bumped it since it is located just left of the prndl shift. I pushed the button to turn it back on and immediately the service traction control warning light came on. I thought i would just take into the dealer on monday. I then shifted the car to drive and now realized i had no power steering at all. Definitely would be headed to the dealer on monday. Did not drive the vehicle the rest of the weekend as i believed it was a safety issue. Monday made the dealer aware that i would be bringing in and why. At noon time started the vehicle to take to the dealer and all operations were fine. Called the dealer and said the car was now operating ok. Service told me that we would call one time a fluke but if it happened again get the vehicle in and they would look for the fault codes to try and figure out what happened. I agreed to do this but decided to look up issues on the internet.after finding mention of this same exact problem i did not feel good and wondered what would have happened if i had been at highway speeds when this occured? i then decided to file this complaint. I will be taking the car in for a dealer visit prior to it happening again.

Service stabilitrak light came on along with check engine light.had code read at autozone. Told to replace egr valve.stabilitrak light comes on every few days since and this still happens now.the check engine light came on again in 4 months and had to replace the egr valve again.service stabilitrak light still comes on at least 3 times a week and will go off intermittently.

Wepurchased the 2007 pontiac torrent on 10/02/2013. The test drive seemed to be fine. We drove the car in the city. The average speed limit is 25-35. We only drive the car to and from work andalmost of the time to various drives. When i had to use highway 95 in delaware the car began pulling back and would not shift and from 40-55 (60) the cardoes not shift from 35-60 all of the time. We had to take the vehicle for inspection on 06/18/2014 we had the vehicle for 6-7 months . The 2007 torrent failed (when we had only owned it 5-6 mths). Pf9-return mvxcs20p, mvxcs30m,we had no choice but, to have the car repaired that day. Certified automotive and diagnosed ( malfunction indicator lamp ) aka service engine includes the scanning of computer codes inmemory comparing da ta stream-clearing memory-performing retest for hard codes. Diagnose vehicle failed dmv emissions had 2 codes: p0404-p0405 both of which are associated with egr position error which caused the failure of the egr exhaust gas recirculation valve. The egrv (egr valve assembly) and the egrp (exhaust gas recirculation valve inlet pipe & gasket ( 402.84 ) diagnostic codes c0561, p0404,& p0405. Prior to returning tothe dmv we had to go on 95 and drive the car for a minimum of 20 minutes prior to pass inspection. Confirmed fix summary 21 - exhaust gas recirculation (egr) valve, 1 - exhaust gas recirculation (egr) passages, 1 - exhaust recirculation wiring. Command egr valve opens and idle at times will stall.
Been having recurring problems as follows: engine fails at high and low rates of speed. Dashboard reads "starting disabled service throttle," "service stabilitrac," and "engine power reduced."check engine light comes on. My temporary remedy is to disconnect the battery. (same problem occurs more predominantly, it seems, with 2007 chevy equinox.) purchased at 87,000 miles. First occurrence for me at about 92,000 miles. Repair garage said was a loose battery cable. Apparently not. Next occurrence was at around 94,000 miles while passing through a one-lane construction zone where crews were working. I was able to get to auto parts store for diagnostic reading. Their reading showed codes p0601 and c0561. I see that numerous other owners have taken their vehicles for service, but received negative results and incorrect repairs. This is a very dangerous situation. Not only are my life and my family's lives at risk, but also the lives of many other drivers, especially with numerous affected vehicles on the roadways. When will we get these issues resolved? who has to pay the highest price before these problems are remedied? is this really the national highway traffic safety administration? we have a problem, we are telling you about it. Why are there no investigations on the site? when can we expect answers? look across numerous other online forums and find that there are thousands of affected vehicles and potential victims. Action must be taken. I wonder if my local news troubleshooter finds this story worthy of immediate publication?
Just got this torrent three weeks ago, yesterday while driving home from work on the freeway, the traction control light came on, and i lost a little power. I managed to make it home, then the service traction control,service stabilitrack , and the engine power is reduced lights came on. I am beyond upset, igot it from the dealership that i have done business with for years, i am waiting on them to open this morning to give them a call. The first day i got the car the service passenger air bag came on, i took it back the next morning, and they replaced a module, now this!!!!! i'm reading where there have been numerous complaints about the same thing. This is very dangerous, why haven't there been recalls on this??? here, i thought i was buying a dependable car for my family, onlyto be very disappointed! never again will i buy a pontiac!!!!!
The air bag for the passenger set will turn on and off at various times. It will be off when someone is sitting in the seat and on when nobody is in the seat. It does it sitting still as well as moving.the traction stabilizer will turn off when it is dry outside and i am driving.my key will get stuck in the ignition for about30 to 45 minutes before i can pull it out.. I have to either sit in my car for that length of time or i have to leave the key in the ignition for that length of time and risk someone stealing my car.
Traction control light came on while raining; causing traction not to be good
Bought in 2012, had about 43k miles on it. 2 years ago issue with stabitrack, took to autonomy shop, said it was a fuse. Paid $400* to replace. Over the past several months issues with stabitrack again. One point the traction control turned off and when that happened the reduce power and engine cuts off. This past weekend it happened again but this time when the engine turns on its a loud knocking noice and now the smell of oil. Taking it to a gm dealer because of all the issues. It has 113448 miles on it. I drive 64 round trip in one day back and forth to work. I cannot drive a veichlelike that on the highway. I'm hoping it's something simple but going to a dealer i know it won't be. Since now there is a smell of oil and the looks of something that has sprayed all over the engine area.

Dealership advised that the electronic power steering had gone out and that the entire steering column must be replaced but that it was not covered by warranty.vehicle was repaired by third party by replacing the power steering module. I'm driving red traffic light and i press my brakes to stop , and turn on my left turn signal light. I noticed the traffic light turn green so i accelerate and turn left. While accelerate gently i'm turning left i realized my left tire felt stuck and i heard and little weird noise. I proceed driving straight i press the brakes because there wasvehicle entering by turning right and driving straight in front of me. When i press the brakesi continue driving pressing the gas petal accelerating to 5 speed my vehicle slow down . I decided to press the gas pedal to accelerate the vehicle and the vehicle just drove very slow. I decided to make a quick right on the approaching street while i was driving the vehicle stop it just froze. I went ahead and look at the dashboard and see an code that's says stabilize trac and other codes . I park the vehicle and took the keys of the key ignition and insert the keys back to start the vehicle. The vehicle had started so , i decided to park the car when i did park the vehicle. The vehicleend up turning off . I wasn't able to start the vehicle on. The vehicle just wouldn't start on. There is a code stating a stability trak code on the dashboard and something about the battery. I was very concern because my daughter that's 2years old and 11 months was with me and i had to think fast and be cautious. I ends up towing my vehicle to a mechanic. We purchased this vehicle in 2010 used with approximately 45,000 miles on it.after about 4-5 months, we received the first "service traction control" and "stabilitrak off" came up in the information center.i continued to drive it, which the manual says you can do, and after awhile it went off.the "service engine" light however has stayed on ever since. Roll forward to november, 2014.i was driving fine at about 60 miles an hour, when all of sudden the vehicle kicks my cruise control off and slows me down to about 20mph in just a few seconds! i was unable to go any faster and vehicle ran very sluggish and jumping, etc.finally, after driving at about 10 mph for 15 miles, i made it home and parked the vehicle. Had the vehicle towed in and there were lots of codes on the system and the main thing was that the alternator was shot.they alsoreplaced fuel sensor.after $450, the vehicle seemed okay.unfortunately a week ago, the stabilitrak and service traction control light came on again and the vehicle has been having glitches in power ever since, but still nothing where i can't drive it.however, coming out of my driveway a couple of days ago, and speeding up to 55, the "reduced engine power" light came on and i lost power immediately with basically no warning.i couldn't go any faster than 5-10mph.after getting back home and letting it sit all day and starting itagain, no lights are on except "check engine" which will always stay on, and it is running fine again.this is definitely a safety hazard, since this could happen in heavy traffic and cause an accident!i hate to take it back in for repair since it seems like they just fix whatever they want, but that it would probably run fine anyway, until the next time this happens out of the blue!not good, not good at all.what is it going to take for this to be looked into more?
We have been having recurring problems with what appears to be the electrical system in our torrent. First appeared as "service stabilitrak", which resulted in the engine powering down while i was driving.not very safe.i contacted gm and they had the dealer repair it by replacing the throttle body, stating this was a common problem but they did not issue a recall.it appeared to be okay for about a year, then the problem resurfaced.about 4 months ago, the "service stabilitrak" light came on again and the transmission began acting up (appeared to be slipping between 2nd and 3rd gear).after some research, we learned, again, that this is a common issue with the torrents.we replaced the egr valve, reset the computer and the problem seemed to have resolved again.now, the "service stabilitrak" light is on yet again, my radio has stopped working, and the "service brake system" light comes on and off.this is very frustrating.clearly there is a problem with the torrent and chevy equinox which gm is well aware of.they refuse to issue a recall to rectify the problem and are allowing the cost for all of these repairs to lay with the consumer.something must be done about this.we do not have the money to purchase a new vehicle, nor do we have the funds to continually make repairs.there needs to be some accountability here by gm.
Fuel smell after driving. Gasoline leaking from the top of the fuel tank. Stabilitrax system light stays on even after the code was cleared by a certified gm mechanic.
Airbag service light has been on for many months.it is cost prohibitive to have serviced since the dealership says it will cost about $1000 to run it down but that it is probably a sensor in the passenger seat.stabilitrak service light comes on intermittently while driving but doesn't seem to affect the driving and check engine light has appeared at the same time as stabilitrak light started appearing.check engine code is egr value needs replaced.my torrent has 144,000 miles.for many months the ignition will not turn all the way off most of the time.sometimes it turns off fine and other times i have to wait for a series of clicks before it will turn off all the way.i don't know if it is a computer issue or an ignition issue.
Purchased car new in 2007.after one week the battery died and had it replaced.no problems until 2015 when the right passenger tire will not register pressure, other tires do.then the passenger seat light will not functioned, no matter who sits in the seat.on march 14, 2015 the stabilitrak, traction warning lights came on.car lost power on busy road with two children in back seat.limped to a repair shop, and was fixed??? to a cost of $639.since then warning lights go on and off at various times, sometimes for a few hours, sometimes for days.i note that this problem has been noted by over 100 other owners.thought i would add to the list.scary....can't afford new car, nor the 1000's of $'s shops want to repair.
Stability control light comes one when going above 65 mph a small bump will cause the light to come on and the stability control and traction are disabled at this time. This will reset after the vehicle sits over night and then will with out warning come back on again and disable the stabilitrak and traction control while driving.
There is no recalls on my torrent but my car in power redude mode and i had it fixed then i came back a week later and stabilitytrak and tracking control and abs lights i fix it and they comes back
I purchased this vehicle a month ago and it was working fine. Multiple times since then the stabilitrak light comes on and off at random and my airbag doesn't work on the passenger side randomly. It goes on and off and says service airbag, but of course when i get it to a mechanic, it is not happening at that time so they can't do anything about it. I am worried about the safety in my car. I checked for recalls and there are recalls for the exact same issues i am experiencing with the airbag, but it does not cover my vin, apparently. There is no rhyme or reason to when these lights come on and when things work and when they don't, it is completely at random.
The service stability traction control light comes on.this happened not too long after i purchased vehicle.took to dealership was told nothing appeared wrong.this has happened on and off ever since.this time it stayed on for approximately 2 days, and appears to happen if i hit a small bump in the road. The passenger seat modular was replaced 7-20-2015.i kept old modular.passenger lite would come on randomaly whenstopped when moving with someone in seat when no one in seat.had seat reprogramed more than once.finally had it replaced and it has never done it again...the problem started in early 2015
I purchased the torrent in september of 2007.since some time in 2008 the "service stabilitrak" caution light comes on infrequently.i notice that it seems to be when the vehicle has perhaps not been parked completely level.it usually resets but is an annoyance.i have not had a dealer diagnose this issue. The second issue is very recent; i would say within the last 60-90 days.the ignition does not want to release the key once the car is stopped and in park.i can usually get it out with some effort but sometimes have to turn the engine back on a few times and turn it off again.incidents are becoming more frequent.initially i thought it was the way i was removing the key but i am not driving the car any differently than i always have.currently vehicle mileage is 46,062.i keep checking so see if my pontiac is part of the gm ignition issue recall and it is not.i plan to have a dealer check this out but with the low mileage on my car it does not seem like a repair i should have to make; especially since the torrent is a remodeled version of the equinox.as evidenced by the mileage, i do not drive my car a lot.long distance trips are few and far between.the vehicle has had regular and appropriate service.no reduction in speed or loss of power issues have been noted with my car for either of the complaints listed herein.
Service stabilitrak and traction control come on always while on the freeway. Traction control will turn itself off. Not long after these lights come on, the check engine light will come on as well. All seem to clear themselves after a couple of days. By the time i am able to have it ran for a code the lights are already off. This has happened on several occasion and very concerned about transporting my [xxx] year old in this car. "ignition switch" i am continually having problems with my ignition switch getting stuck, it takes a few minutes but there is usually a click and then it releases.it appears that this is an ongoing problem.my concern is that i am not sure what actually needs to be fixed.i have read enough reviews that it could not be the ignition switch that actually needs to be fixed, can you tell me what is it that has to be repaired so that i do not have to sink tons of money in trying to find out what is actually wrong with it.i have 176,000 miles on my car and i have loved this car.it is and has been a great car, not perfect but a great car.i think in the life of the car i have had to replace a faulty spark plug, a window motor on the drivers side and it is still sluggish so i don't think that was the only problem.the rear window wiper motor has went out.but i would like to at least know what it is that i need to repair on the ignition so i can get it properly repaired the first time as i see other people have had multiple items repaired and it was not really what needed to be.i also have problems with the stable track continually coming on, it will stay on for a while and then it will turn off and then come back on again.thank-you for your help.
While driving my stabitrak light came on causing all tires to lock up. I was unable to steer vehicle safely, steering wheel was nearly impossible to turn. All 4 brakes locked up and loud grinding noise could be heard. Vehicle top speed dropped abruptly to 11 mph while traveling on busy interstate. Vehicle started jumping forward and wheels/tires would not turn. I was able to pull vehicle off interstate, to a safe location, within a couple minutes, by using emergency brake, and found brakes and rotors were on fire with flames visable and tires were smoking heavily. The dash light were blinking "service stabitrak" and "traction control off." this incident caused significant damage to my vehicle. This vehicle has not been in any accidents and is used soley on paved roads. There a several hundred other online complaints from owners of same vehicle, with same problem.

I have had an issue with this vehicle ongoing since i purchased it.the actual first that the company has documented is 2/2010, 3/2011, and currently 2/2012.first the stabilitrak light comes on then shortly after the engine light comes on then you loose power to the vehicle and cannot accelerate and it is difficult to direct.i have contacted gm on two occasions regarding this issue.it appears that others are having this issue as i googled the info on the problem.i am not asking gm for something for nothing i am only asking them to find out why this is an ongoing problem, obviously there is a defect in the car somewhere to have this occur every year around the same time.i am currently under the powetrain warranty but that will expire in may of this year and this cost anywhere from $600-$800.this problem can be very dangerous and they seem to fail to see the dangers in it.you loose all power to the vehicle!!!!what is not dangerous about that.you don't have much of a warning because once that light comes on that's it...wouldn't be a problem if you are close to home but both times i was approx. 200 miles from home.i only ask them to either fix the issue or replace the vehicle!!!!!

My car started stalling when driving, then after that i started smelling heavy gas fumes while driving and when car is parked its smells like gas really strong.

Took vehicle to dlr for service. Advise of no problems found; was told to take a picture when it recurred. As suggested i took pictures of the incident. Dlr advised he couldn't determine condition from picture. However, gm had released a tsb with infor that could resolve problem. That worked for several months. Had an independent repair facility check for the same problems; they replaced plugs and wires.thatlasted 2 months. They replaced a module. That lasted for about 9 months now the problem comes and goes. No one can pinpoint the exact problem for the lights coming on.
Purchased vehicle 2 months ago from a gm dealer.within 1 month, stabilization track and traction control lights came on. No apparent lose of power. Took to be diagnosed. Egr sensor replaced. I purchased my 2007 torrent new, my service traction control light, traction control off has been coming on since i bought it. The performance and handling were not affected, it ran with no problems. I took it to the dealer to inquire about this problem. I was told it will reset itself and it did, no problem. Beginning of december 2013, i was attempting to merge into traffic moving about 50mph, my torrent had no problem merging before, as i began to enter the traffic there were three dings, traction control off. This time engine power reduced, totally unexpected. The torrent would not accelerate above 15 mph, it felt like the brakes were holding the vehicle back the engine was revving at 4000 rpm. Turned off car, waited a minute restarted, ran fine. Engine power reduced comes on a daily basis. I can't trust this vehicle now!
Going up a small grade or just driving the service stbilitrak lit comes on and stays on as long as car is running. Has been in dealer three times for this same thing.we were told to bring the car in when this light came on and we did, all the told me is it said to reprogram.seen the last dealer visit the light has came on two more times.the only thing that is noticeable is the shifting of transmission.
While driving approx. 70 mph on interstate i-75 a light came on the dash that stated stabilitrak is off and engine speed will be reduced at which time the car jerked to a sudden slow down almost causing an accident with the car behind me.car was shut off and restarted then seemed to run fine again until today 1-14 in which it did the same thing again.this is very dangerous, as i thought this may be a "safe" car for my child to drive.this is not the case.in looking on the internet, it seems that several if not hundreds of people are having this same issue.why hasn't it been recalled?does she have to be in an accident before something can be done???
The car drove perfectly until i would come to an complete stop. Once at a complete stop while in drive or in park, the temperature gauge went up to the red line, indicating that the engine is over heating. The words on the dash also would say engine hot. This would result in me having to pull over ever few minutes to let the car cool off and in some instances the car would shut off on its own. I literally only had the car for 4 days after purchasing, however this issue started the exact day i purchased it. I bought the car with it already having 155k miles driven. The mechanic has tried putting in a new thermostat and water pump, at this point he feels it needs a new engine.

"takata recall" we just got this car it just started leaking around the fuel tank.my husband believes the problem is with the fuel pump.the fuel gage has not worked since before we got the car.it came from windowrock, arizona, was sold to a dealership in farmington, nm.then it was sold to another dealership in kirtland, nm.we have it now and have had it almost a month.the airbag warning lights and the check engine lights are on.the check engine light error is something to do with the catalytic converter.i was looking for information about the fuel pump location and how to change it out.i saw something about the fuel pump leaks and airbag problems being a recall issue with this year, make and model out of arizona.we don't know if there have been previous issues with this problem on this vehicle.we want to be sure that our car is not going to catch fire due to this fuel pump leak, especially if it is a vehicle that should have been recalled and no one heeded that recall or they were not aware of the recall.we want to be and stay safe, and to have a safe vehicle.the leak was noticed when the 2007 pontiac torrent was parked.it leaks more and quite a lot of gas while it is parked or not moving such as at traffic lights, while waiting for the light to change.it may be leaking while it is traveling down the street, highway etc. We don't know for sure.while parked at the grocery store for about 15 to 20 minutes it leaked a puddle of gas about the size of a basketball around onto the parking lot where we were just parked in a space.this seems like a dangerous or potentially dangerous situation.should this have been one of the vehicles recalled?we really need this unsafe situation corrected so that it doesn't catch fire and one of us or someone else be seriously injured or die in a car fire from this problem.
Just got this torrent three weeks ago, yesterday while driving home from work on the freeway, the traction control light came on, and i lost a little power. I managed to make it home, then the service traction control,service stabilitrack , and the engine power is reduced lights came on. I am beyond upset, igot it from the dealership that i have done business with for years, i am waiting on them to open this morning to give them a call. The first day i got the car the service passenger air bag came on, i took it back the next morning, and they replaced a module, now this!!!!! i'm reading where there have been numerous complaints about the same thing. This is very dangerous, why haven't there been recalls on this??? here, i thought i was buying a dependable car for my family, onlyto be very disappointed! never again will i buy a pontiac!!!!!

In 2012 i took the car in for a oil change. I had noticed a smell of anti freeze coming from the vent when you turn on the heat. After the service i ask my mechanic if he smelled anything and he stated something smells sweet but did not say he smelled anti freeze. Over the past two year when i drive her car i turn the heat on and yes the smell of anti freeze is still there for about 10 mins. And goes away. Fwd: 2/2014 my wife called and said after turning the heat on she could not see out the front inside windshield and had to keep wiping it with a rag and the smell of anti freeze was very strong. I know about heater cores and it shouldn't be bad because my wife hates heat.
I have a gm certified used 2007 pontiac torrent that has mold somewhere in the engine compartment that blows through the air vents into my face.i have had it in for repairs 3 times now and still i breathe mold daily.gm is not working with me to resolve this situation. If you do a simple google of this problem, there are thousands of reports of mold problems with the pontiac torrent.mold can be as deadly as a stuck accelerator...

The wires which power the door window motor, electric locks and door speakers broke inside the rubber boot assembly which attaches the wire harness to the door and the door frame. Performing an online google search indicates this problem is endemic to the 2006-2009 pontiac torrent. I have repaired the wires in the harness but they broke again, january of 2015. I feel this is a safety issue that needs to be investigated.

The 1st thing that happened was the stability trac warning came on, took to the dealership, they could not find anything wrong and reset, this happened several more times until i took it to the local garage and they replaced a sensor. After that the cruise control went out, was intermittent until it no longer works and they have not been able to determine the problem, so i have been without for a year. The next thing to go was the drivers side tail light, i have had the bulb replaced 4 times, it lasts about a day, thedrivers side running lights went, bulb replaced several times, the shop has not been able to determine why, the code states an electrical problem, so i drive without drivers side running lights. Have been pulled over several times by police officers, they say they understand and told me to get in touch with gmc, which i have done. Still no result. Oh and i have taken it to the dealership, they cannot determine, but offered to find and repair for $700.00 and if gmc extends a recall, i will be reimbursed, so apparently in my estimations, they know the problem exists. What i am and have been going through reads very much like problems with other gmc products that have been recalled.

The vehicle had a strong fuel smell at the rear of the vehicle while parked. The repair facility found the fuel line had cracked at the fuel pump module on top of the fuel tank and fuel was spraying from the fracture. The shop manager said this was the third gm vehicle in about a month with this same problem. I was also told that a replacement part was not available from gm as the part was on national backorder.

The contact owns a 2007 pontiac torrent. While parked, the contact noticed an overpowering fuel smell. After inspecting the vehicle the contact noticed a fuel leak. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostics where the technician stated that the fuel housing had to be replaced because it was fractured. The vehicle was repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 86,388 updated 10/19/11when the vehicle was raised, fuel spilled from where it had been pooling on top of the fuel tank. It apparently was evaporating when the vehicle was not being driven.the mechanic found a plastic strap that was around the fuel tank and around the return line on the primary fuel pump. The strap's replacement may have put stress on the return line fitting where the pump housing was obviously cracked. The crack was located where the strap was located. The strap was fused into place; not a zip tie. The mechanic cut the strap off. Updated 01/03/11
Wepurchased the 2007 pontiac torrent on 10/02/2013. The test drive seemed to be fine. We drove the car in the city. The average speed limit is 25-35. We only drive the car to and from work andalmost of the time to various drives. When i had to use highway 95 in delaware the car began pulling back and would not shift and from 40-55 (60) the cardoes not shift from 35-60 all of the time. We had to take the vehicle for inspection on 06/18/2014 we had the vehicle for 6-7 months . The 2007 torrent failed (when we had only owned it 5-6 mths). Pf9-return mvxcs20p, mvxcs30m,we had no choice but, to have the car repaired that day. Certified automotive and diagnosed ( malfunction indicator lamp ) aka service engine includes the scanning of computer codes inmemory comparing da ta stream-clearing memory-performing retest for hard codes. Diagnose vehicle failed dmv emissions had 2 codes: p0404-p0405 both of which are associated with egr position error which caused the failure of the egr exhaust gas recirculation valve. The egrv (egr valve assembly) and the egrp (exhaust gas recirculation valve inlet pipe & gasket ( 402.84 ) diagnostic codes c0561, p0404,& p0405. Prior to returning tothe dmv we had to go on 95 and drive the car for a minimum of 20 minutes prior to pass inspection. Confirmed fix summary 21 - exhaust gas recirculation (egr) valve, 1 - exhaust gas recirculation (egr) passages, 1 - exhaust recirculation wiring. Command egr valve opens and idle at times will stall.
Experiencing the exact same problem as stated in nhtsa campaign number: 12v459000. Contacted gm and the vehicle is not included in the recall. Shouldn't any 2007 pontiac torrent with the exact same problem be included no matter where it is? seems a little suspect that california, arizona, nevada and texas are included but new mexico is excluded. We get our vehicles from the same factories as the those other states. Current estimate to fix my vehicle is 1000.00.

When i had an oil change done on may 23, i asked the mechanic to check again for a leak. This time, with the car on the lift, he could see where fuel has been leaking from somewhere above the gas tank. He did a "smoke test" which confirms there is a leak, but because of the way the car is built, he can't see the source of the leak without removing the gas tank, which would also necessitate removing the exhaust pipe from the catalytic converter on back. From the general location, though, i suspect the problem is the same that is referenced in nhtsa recall 12v459000, a leaking fuel pump module, although i do not live in any of the states affected by the recall. I have an appointment to take it to the dealer to verify the source of the leak.

After smelling fuel for a week, thinking that it was something else in the garage, i decided to lookunder the car.sure enough, the fuel tank was wet on the sides of the tank and also was wet on the bottom of the tank.i called a couple gm dealers to ask about fuel leaks on the torrent, but there all like, bring in the car and let us check it out.so, because the car was out of factory warranty, i decided to check into it further myself.after dropping the tank and reconnecting the electric and fuel connections, and turning the key on, i could see the fuel streaming out of a cracked fuel line right up next to the fuel pump.the leak is in the fuel supply line from the fuel pump and goes up to the engine.the leak is in the fuel pump itself.lifting the fuel line slightly would make the leak worse and pushing down on the fuel line would make it less severe.the fuel would come out in a steady stream the diameter of the size of the lead in a pencil.

I have a check leak in a fitting above the gas tank that is leaking on the exhaust.several mechanics have seen this leak and fixed it under a recall but i have been told by gm that my particular vin is not covered under the recall even though it's the ed act same problem.it leaks constantly.

Could smell gasoline fumes on outside of vehicle after use. After checking online, found out others had a problem with the fuel pump outlet cracking. Removed the tank and found the discharge fitting on the fuel pump was cracked. I cannot believe something as serious as this has not been addressed with a recall. When i touch the discharge line the outlet fitting completely broke off. This is an extreme fire hazard.

We received a letter stating our vehicle did qualify for the 12v-459 recall but when we called the dealer they said it didn't.we were then directed to gm's main office where my husband was told yeah it did qualify and an escalation department would be calling him back to get this taken care of. Well low and behold he gets a call today and is told no the car does not qualify.now how in the heck did we get a letter with our vin number saying it qualifies and now all of a sudden it doesn't? we obviously have a gas leak as the smell is ridiculous. My husband is a cancer survivor for gods sake.after reading all the other complaints of people in different states that are having the same problem but not qualifying for the recalli think its obvious that limiting the recall to certain states is bogus, and whoever doesn't think oklahoma is a "warm weather state" has obviously never visited ok in the summer.its hot as heck with 3 digit temps for weeks as a time!i hope a class action law suit gets underway!

Smell strong fuel leak in the back of the car by gas tank.
For the past year or twomy car has been smelling like gas. I thought it was my gas cap because it stopped sealing. I replaced it several times with a new one. I finally was able to get an original gas cap from another torrentfrom from a junkyard. The gas cap goes on and seals but still sometimes comes unsealed. I have not done anything regarding the smell of gas because i do not have the money to fix it or have anybody look at the problem. Today i decided to go have an oil change and they immediately pulled my car out of the bay. They told me i need to stop driving my car because there is a severe fuel leak and my car could explode. Thankfully there is a mechanic right next-door and i had them look and there is a very bad fuel leak.tomorrow i am scheduled to have them drop the tank so that they can find out what is leaking. I have been researching the internet for issues like this andi came across the recall from gm for a fuel pumps for a 2007 pontiac torrent therecall campaign number is 12v459000.however,this recall states that my car doesn't qualify. This does not make sense to me i have read so many things on this site that show many other vehicles like mine have had this issue. On 11-10-16 we smelled gas outside the car after exiting the vehicle. We took it to our local mechanic. The nearest gm dealer is about 20 miles from our home. They checked the problem, found the fuel line on the fuel pump module cracked and leaking. They said we would have a fire soon if this was not repaired immediately. They removed and replaced fuel pump module. We paid for the repair...$592 for part & $200 labor. After repair, i called the dealer to see if this was a common problem with our vehicle. They said, yes, there is a "open service bulletin" for that vehicle with a reimbursement clause. We took the required paperwork to the dealer. They found that the reimbursement clause expired 7-31-2014, but there is no expiration if it is repaired at a dealer. If we had been aware of this problem or requirement, we would have taken it to the dealer. There was no communication to us from gm regarding this problem. We have been unsuccessful in our attempts to have gm take responsibility for this repair, even though they fully acknowledge the problem in document 4233868.

Strong gas could be smelled near the gas tank. I could not park it in the garage due to safety consideration. There is no recall for my car according to gm database. I heard there have been some recalls but why my car is not in the recall since gas leaking is the same reason, fuel pump related. Hope government involves this with high priority because this will cause serious damage to people or properties if parked in the garages.
Gas leak i cant locate but fills the car with very strong gas fumes and can also be spelled as you approach the vehicle (approx.5 yards away). This has been happening for a while and no one can find a leak but can smell the gas odor strong. I purchased a new gas cap at the beginning of this problem but that didn't help either. Unfortunately my vin number is not part of the recall. This doesn't make sense to me i've read many complaints on this website from people with the same car and the same issue. My passenger seatbelt warning light stays on when i have a passenger in the front. The ignition switch clicks constantly. The key keeps getting stuck in the ignition switch. There was a vivid gasoline smell inside the vehicle and on the outside right rear by the gas tank, took it to a mechanic come to find out it was was the return port on the fuel pump module that had cracked, which is very dangerous because i was driving the vehicle and a nice part for my brakes or anywhere could have caused a fire. I find out that there is a recall on the plastic supplier return port so i had my mechanic save my part on my vehicle and it is documented that this is the actual part that is on recall from other 2007 pontiac torrent this is a dangerous situation and i believe it needs attention before someone gets hurt or killed buy an explosion or fire.
Lost fwd do to wheel bearing hub twice, gas gauge goes to what ever position it wants to even when full of gas. Radio changes stations with out no one touching it. Transmission has a chatter in it now and vehicle only has about 80000 miles on it. Still paying for a lemon
I was driving and smelled gasoline coming from the car.after 2 days the gasoline smell persisted so i took it to my mechanic.upon looking, they found a leak in the fuel pump which they said needed to be replaced.they called the dealership to see if there was a recall on this part. They were told there was not. They replaced the fuel pump and fuel level sensor.later i saw on the internet that gm was recalling certain pontiac torrents with specific vin numbers and mine was not included.obviously there is a problem with this part regardless of where it was manufactured.i would like to be reimbursed for the parts and labor i had to pay for this repair.
Service stabilitrak and traction control come on always while on the freeway. Traction control will turn itself off. Not long after these lights come on, the check engine light will come on as well. All seem to clear themselves after a couple of days. By the time i am able to have it ran for a code the lights are already off. Vehicle was sluggish to start, so i replaced the battery, that didn't fix the problem.the mechanic said he smelled gas, and after checking it, he determined it was the fuel pump. He said that there was a recall for this problem, but then found out it was only available for certain vin numbers. My car is the correct year, correct model and has the problem described in the recall, but it is limited to certain vin numbers, how is that fair. After a bill of 1700.00. "takata recall" we just got this car it just started leaking around the fuel tank.my husband believes the problem is with the fuel pump.the fuel gage has not worked since before we got the car.it came from windowrock, arizona, was sold to a dealership in farmington, nm.then it was sold to another dealership in kirtland, nm.we have it now and have had it almost a month.the airbag warning lights and the check engine lights are on.the check engine light error is something to do with the catalytic converter.i was looking for information about the fuel pump location and how to change it out.i saw something about the fuel pump leaks and airbag problems being a recall issue with this year, make and model out of arizona.we don't know if there have been previous issues with this problem on this vehicle.we want to be sure that our car is not going to catch fire due to this fuel pump leak, especially if it is a vehicle that should have been recalled and no one heeded that recall or they were not aware of the recall.we want to be and stay safe, and to have a safe vehicle.the leak was noticed when the 2007 pontiac torrent was parked.it leaks more and quite a lot of gas while it is parked or not moving such as at traffic lights, while waiting for the light to change.it may be leaking while it is traveling down the street, highway etc. We don't know for sure.while parked at the grocery store for about 15 to 20 minutes it leaked a puddle of gas about the size of a basketball around onto the parking lot where we were just parked in a space.this seems like a dangerous or potentially dangerous situation.should this have been one of the vehicles recalled?we really need this unsafe situation corrected so that it doesn't catch fire and one of us or someone else be seriously injured or die in a car fire from this problem.

Vehicle would not start. Jumped battery to get started. Stability control light came on. Steering wheel would not turn. Shut off after letting run to charge battery. Shuit off. Vehicle will not restart and the key cannot be removed from the ignition. This is the second time this happened. We only drive the car to and from work andalmost of the time to various drives. When i had to use highway 95 in delaware the car began pulling back and would not shift and from 40-55 (60) the cardoes not shift from 35-60 all of the time. We had to take the vehicle for inspection on 06/18/2014 we had the vehicle for 6-7 months . The 2007 torrent failed (when we had only owned it 5-6 mths). Pf9-return mvxcs20p, mvxcs30m,we had no choice but, to have the car repaired that day. Certified automotive and diagnosed ( malfunction indicator lamp ) aka service engine includes the scanning of computer codes inmemory comparing da ta stream-clearing memory-performing retest for hard codes. Diagnose vehicle failed dmv emissions had 2 codes: p0404-p0405 both of which are associated with egr position error which caused the failure of the egr exhaust gas recirculation valve. The egrv (egr valve assembly) and the egrp (exhaust gas recirculation valve inlet pipe & gasket ( 402.84 ) diagnostic codes c0561, p0404,& p0405. Prior to returning tothe dmv we had to go on 95 and drive the car for a minimum of 20 minutes prior to pass inspection. Confirmed fix summary 21 - exhaust gas recirculation (egr) valve, 1 - exhaust gas recirculation (egr) passages, 1 - exhaust recirculation wiring. Command egr valve opens and idle at times will stall.
While driving approx. 70 mph on interstate i-75 a light came on the dash that stated stabilitrak is off and engine speed will be reduced at which time the car jerked to a sudden slow down almost causing an accident with the car behind me.car was shut off and restarted then seemed to run fine again until today 1-14 in which it did the same thing again.this is very dangerous, as i thought this may be a "safe" car for my child to drive.this is not the case.in looking on the internet, it seems that several if not hundreds of people are having this same issue.why hasn't it been recalled?does she have to be in an accident before something can be done???

The car started shuddering starting at between 35-50 mph and accelerating, especially when going uphill.it also does it at around 65 mph.it seems like the transmission isn't wanting to change gears.this issue only happens when i am accelerating slowly.if it starts happening, and i press the gas pedal down a bit further, the car revs up past the problematic speed and is fine.i have had the tires balanced and rotated, the throttle body replaced, and the transmission fluid flushed.none of these solved the problem.

August 12 2015 the car doors began locking and unlocking on their own.the speedometer/tachometer began acting crazily on their own. A short time after, having not had steering issues before driver was shocked because the steering wheel malfunctioned (if she turned it left the steering wheel turned but not the vehicle, it kept going straight). She lowered speed and eventually the steering wheel started working.warning lights all wheel drive abs service engine light had come on when the problem occurred. Husband drove car that night but couldn't find anything wrong. They took car to calkins pontiac in burnham pa august 20th.calkins had it a few days.invoices can be sent.calkins found nothing but codes stored in history u0073 u0131 b3006 u0102.they couldn't reinvent the problem.they took car home husband was driving it when the same problems reoccurred. Car took a hard right turn as if someone reached over and yanked the car to the right. The wheel would not turn back. It locked up.before almost hitting guard rail the wheel went back to normal. Up the road it happened again several times.they took car to calkins again on 25th.they paid $490 this time to replace the body control module. Sept 11, 12th, 17th however same problems happened. At this point the car can't be driven due to safety but owners need to use vehicle. It has only 99,157 miles on it. Who can assist to have this fixed so vehicle can be used? we can't trade it in and risk someone else losing their life. Going up a small grade or just driving the service stbilitrak lit comes on and stays on as long as car is running. Has been in dealer three times for this same thing.we were told to bring the car in when this light came on and we did, all the told me is it said to reprogram.seen the last dealer visit the light has came on two more times.the only thing that is noticeable is the shifting of transmission.

Service air bag light has been on for about a year now !sitting in front passenger seat makes no difference ; it doesnt sense anyone sitting there and always show airbag off and dash says service air bag !!!i dont want to replace the whole seat which is around $1,000 ; what's the diy soluton here i am not safe in this car with service airbag light on 100% of time. Air bag service light illuminated on the dash. Service air bag message appeared in drivers information center. Also note that the air bag will go on off intermittently with someone in the seat. A 200 pound man sitting in the seat should render the airbag operational, however, it stays off and light on. This is a severe safety issue that in the event of a crash the airbag will not deploy/operate correctly.its ridiculous and standard for gm to not acknowledge this is a problem and fixing it until someone is killed. This is not an expense a vehicle owner should be expected to pay when it is an obvious/ blatantdefect.

I'm driving red traffic light and i press my brakes to stop , and turn on my left turn signal light. I noticed the traffic light turn green so i accelerate and turn left. While accelerate gently i'm turning left i realized my left tire felt stuck and i heard and little weird noise. I was able to pull vehicle off interstate, to a safe location, within a couple minutes, by using emergency brake, and found brakes and rotors were on fire with flames visable and tires were smoking heavily. The dash light were blinking "service stabitrak" and "traction control off." this incident caused significant damage to my vehicle. This vehicle has not been in any accidents and is used soley on paved roads. There a several hundred other online complaints from owners of same vehicle, with same problem.

About three weeks ago, i am driving my kids to school when suddenly there is a warning indicator on my dash saying major braking system failure.upon calling onstar for a diagnosis, they said to check the brake fluid, sure enough, it was empty.i filled it up and continued driving the car after noticing no fluid where the car is mainly parked.in a week's time, the brakes have started getting harder and harder to press and the vehicle not wanting to stop normally.taking it to the dealership, i am told that the fluid leaked out into a reservoir at the bottom of the master cylinder.if that cylinder had broke, no brakes.now, my vehicle has been at the shop for a week because they cannot find the parts needed to remedy this situation.to me it is a safety issue as the car cannot be driven in it's current state although they are still giving me grief as to whether is will be covered under the extended warranty and if they will pay for the rental i am having to use in the meantime.

Turning corner (right hand turn) in 3-4 inches of loose snow and the abs light, traction control light and stabilitrac sensor all came on. During heavy rain while driving on the highway, the abs system engaged without any use of the brakes causing the car to pull from side to side as the abs system applied alternating brakes.this repeated at least 4 times during a 1.5 to 2 hour highway drive.once off the highway at a lower speed the problem did not happen again.i brought the car into the dealer for service.they could not identify and did not try to recreate the problem.i have avoided highway driving in heavy rain and have not had the problem again.when taking the car in to the dealer for an oil change the other day, they insisted on installing a black box with red button.the system is masking taped to the dash of my car and the button is in my cup holder.i have been instruct to press the red button if the problem happens again.however, if it does happen i must keep both hands on the wheel.

The date is the first incident, had several after that.i owned the vehicle 8 days when the stabilization, traction control, anti-lock brake lights came on, so i took it to the dealer, they said it was a speed sensor, they would order part.i took it back to get it fixed, 30 minutes later same problem again, lights came on, so i went back, they assured me they fixed it and it was a quote "lights only" issue.a month later took it back again and low and behold the same code came up again, so either they fixed a bad part with a bad part or else they didn't really fix it.it also had been running in all wheel drive the whole time, which they told me it wasn't the first time.i still didn't feel safe so took it to a different dealer and they checked and said the steering computer needed reprogrammed, but on mygmlink.com it said they replaced the steering computer and the gas cap.here it is 02/06/08 and another issue came up, dead battery.
Pontiac torrent(2007 yr only) right rear flexible brake line hose to rr disc brake caliper has over a 100 degree bend with no play. As wheelassembly hits bumps this hose will fail in time causing rear brake failure. I advised gm service manager on 11/22/06 and he was going to advise gm engineering,w/on line report.

August 12 2015 the car doors began locking and unlocking on their own.the speedometer/tachometer began acting crazily on their own. A short time after, having not had steering issues before driver was shocked because the steering wheel malfunctioned (if she turned it left the steering wheel turned but not the vehicle, it kept going straight). She lowered speed and eventually the steering wheel started working.warning lights all wheel drive abs service engine light had come on when the problem occurred. Husband drove car that night but couldn't find anything wrong. They took car to calkins pontiac in burnham pa august 20th.calkins had it a few days.invoices can be sent.calkins found nothing but codes stored in history u0073 u0131 b3006 u0102.they couldn't reinvent the problem.they took car home husband was driving it when the same problems reoccurred. Car took a hard right turn as if someone reached over and yanked the car to the right. The wheel would not turn back. It locked up.before almost hitting guard rail the wheel went back to normal. Up the road it happened again several times.they took car to calkins again on 25th.they paid $490 this time to replace the body control module. Sept 11, 12th, 17th however same problems happened. At this point the car can't be driven due to safety but owners need to use vehicle. It has only 99,157 miles on it. I was on the freeway when the steering wheel went out.i tried to pull off the rode but ran into a ditch and damaged one of my tires.i could not turn the wheel it was very hard to steer, i made it to a exit and found a local auto zone. I was informed it was electric and the part had to be purchased from the dealer. I had to have my car towed over a hundred miles which was very expensive. The dealership estimated charges totaling $700.00.the vehicle is only 2 years old. I'm a single parent and currently i am not able to afford the repairs so my vehicle is parked until i can save up the money. I purchased the torrent in september of 2007.since some time in 2008 the "service stabilitrak" caution light comes on infrequently.i notice that it seems to be when the vehicle has perhaps not been parked completely level.it usually resets but is an annoyance.i have not had a dealer diagnose this issue. The second issue is very recent; i would say within the last 60-90 days.the ignition does not want to release the key once the car is stopped and in park.i can usually get it out with some effort but sometimes have to turn the engine back on a few times and turn it off again.incidents are becoming more frequent.initially i thought it was the way i was removing the key but i am not driving the car any differently than i always have.currently vehicle mileage is 46,062.i keep checking so see if my pontiac is part of the gm ignition issue recall and it is not.i plan to have a dealer check this out but with the low mileage on my car it does not seem like a repair i should have to make; especially since the torrent is a remodeled version of the equinox.as evidenced by the mileage, i do not drive my car a lot.long distance trips are few and far between.the vehicle has had regular and appropriate service.no reduction in speed or loss of power issues have been noted with my car for either of the complaints listed herein.
On the morning of oct.27, 2010 while my husband was trying to leave from pt and come home of post the car would not start (pontiac torrent) he had to have it jumped just to start it. I have a gm certified used 2007 pontiac torrent that has mold somewhere in the engine compartment that blows through the air vents into my face.i have had it in for repairs 3 times now and still i breathe mold daily.gm is not working with me to resolve this situation. If you do a simple google of this problem, there are thousands of reports of mold problems with the pontiac torrent.mold can be as deadly as a stuck accelerator...
Have a persistent creaking noise in the right rear of the vehicle when making a turn while going into an incline such as my driveway. The car has been to the dealer multiple times without success, for a total of about 3 weeks out of service. The last time i was told the problem has been observed in at least one other vehicle at the dealership. I was told they could not solve the problem. I've had the vehicle home for several weeks now, and the problem still persists.

The passenger seat modular was replaced 7-20-2015.i kept old modular.passenger lite would come on randomaly whenstopped when moving with someone in seat when no one in seat.had seat reprogramed more than once.finally had it replaced and it has never done it again...the problem started in early 2015
Notice of slow tire pressure leak.when topping up tire pressure the metal valve stem brakes off, forcing the tire to be exchanged. Replacement of valve stem with basic non sensor style. Issue computer keeps reporting tire monitor issues. Two have gone faulty in one week.. Fear of others blowing on highway. Replacement units quoted $125 with no guarantee of problem being solved. Old parts both available sensor & valve stem. Times two.

The stabilitrak and traction control warnings started coming on last august 2012. The vehicle stayed parked most of 2012 since the problem persist and we didn't have means to pay for a repair like that. We got a letter in october 2012 about a recall due to a faulty plastic part on the fuel tank. We had that replaced and thought the warnings would go away but they haven't. I went back to work in january 2013, and the problem has only gotten worst! this is our primary car now and it's scary when you have two kids in the vehicle and the engine power is reduced while on the freeway! we almost got into a number of accidents because of this problem. Just today 02/25/2013, the vehicle started feeling like it was going to die. I had to pull over on the freeway, turn off the car and wait for it to settle down. The vehicle started up as if nothing happened. There is no reason why this should happen in california when the weather conditions are no where near triggering the controls. I've read a lot of reviews of other consumers having the same problem with their 2007 pontiac torrent and i hope gm is prepared for another recall!
The service stability traction control light comes on.this happened not too long after i purchased vehicle.took to dealership was told nothing appeared wrong.this has happened on and off ever since.this time it stayed on for approximately 2 days, and appears to happen if i hit a small bump in the road. Thing they should recall it to be fixed.
The car displayed traction control and stabilitrack warning on oct. 4, 2012 for a few hours and then it was gone. On nov. 17, 2013, it came back and remains on.

I purchased my 2007 torrent new, my service traction control light, traction control off has been coming on since i bought it. The performance and handling were not affected, it ran with no problems. I took it to the dealer to inquire about this problem. I was told it will reset itself and it did, no problem. Beginning of december 2013, i was attempting to merge into traffic moving about 50mph, my torrent had no problem merging before, as i began to enter the traffic there were three dings, traction control off. This time engine power reduced, totally unexpected. The torrent would not accelerate above 15 mph, it felt like the brakes were holding the vehicle back the engine was revving at 4000 rpm. Turned off car, waited a minute restarted, ran fine. Engine power reduced comes on a daily basis. I can't trust this vehicle now!

Turning corner (right hand turn) in 3-4 inches of loose snow and the abs light, traction control light and stabilitrac sensor all came on. Warning message of service stabilitrac soon displayed on control panel. After parking the car overnight, all warnings except abs were off and abs warning light went off after approximately 2 minutes. This has happened at least once a year for all three years i have owned the vehicle. It was repaired at the dealership where i purchased it twice and i was told there was nothing wrong once since the lights went off before i was able to get it to the dealer. Also intermittently seems to have a power drain for no reason and with no warning lights appearing on the dash display.
Airbag service light has been on for many months.it is cost prohibitive to have serviced since the dealership says it will cost about $1000 to run it down but that it is probably a sensor in the passenger seat.stabilitrak service light comes on intermittently while driving but doesn't seem to affect the driving and check engine light has appeared at the same time as stabilitrak light started appearing.check engine code is egr value needs replaced.my torrent has 144,000 miles.for many months the ignition will not turn all the way off most of the time.sometimes it turns off fine and other times i have to wait for a series of clicks before it will turn off all the way.i don't know if it is a computer issue or an ignition issue.
No heat, blower blows cold air.replaced thermostat, no change.reviewed a few forums and found the equinox and torrent have the same problem : heater blend door / acuator.defogging the windshield does not happen quick enough, very dangerous.cost of repair at dealership is just over $1000.00.filed a case with gm case # 8-2670037863.they did not have any recalls or offer any info.
Cannot remove ignition key when car is parked with shifter in park position. Key can go no further than accessories. After waiting several minutes key is eventually released. This several minute delay compels me to sometime walk away with the key in the accessories position and the car unlocked. I have replaced the ignition key cylinder which was no help. This has been happening for the last year and a half.
During rainshowers our pontiac torrent will start to shudder and loose power. This has happened in heavy highway traffic nearly resulting in an accident. It has been in to the shop five times and no one can seem to find anything wrong with it. It is a 2007 model year with 12500 miles on it.
When i turn my car on, it says, "stabilitrak off" , "service traction control" , "service air bag" , "service stabilitrak".
Lost fwd do to wheel bearing hub twice, gas gauge goes to what ever position it wants to even when full of gas. Radio changes stations with out no one touching it. Transmission has a chatter in it now and vehicle only has about 80000 miles on it. Still paying for a lemon
The air bag for the passenger set will turn on and off at various times. It will be off when someone is sitting in the seat and on when nobody is in the seat. It does it sitting still as well as moving.the traction stabilizer will turn off when it is dry outside and i am driving.my key will get stuck in the ignition for about30 to 45 minutes before i can pull it out.. I have to either sit in my car for that length of time or i have to leave the key in the ignition for that length of time and risk someone stealing my car.
"ignition switch" i am continually having problems with my ignition switch getting stuck, it takes a few minutes but there is usually a click and then it releases.it appears that this is an ongoing problem.my concern is that i am not sure what actually needs to be fixed.i have read enough reviews that it could not be the ignition switch that actually needs to be fixed, can you tell me what is it that has to be repaired so that i do not have to sink tons of money in trying to find out what is actually wrong with it.i have 176,000 miles on my car and i have loved this car.it is and has been a great car, not perfect but a great car.i think in the life of the car i have had to replace a faulty spark plug, a window motor on the drivers side and it is still sluggish so i don't think that was the only problem.the rear window wiper motor has went out.but i would like to at least know what it is that i need to repair on the ignition so i can get it properly repaired the first time as i see other people have had multiple items repaired and it was not really what needed to be.i also have problems with the stable track continually coming on, it will stay on for a while and then it will turn off and then come back on again.thank-you for your help.
The key continues to get stuck in the ignition, i brought my vehicle to the dealership a few years ago when it started happening, but it did not display the problem at the time so it can not be fixed. Now the problem has gotten worse where it is happening everytime i turn off my suv and the key will not release until an hour later, which is draining the battery. I have had to purchase new batteries before needed and car unable to restart because of the drain battery. This has been an ongoing issue for me, which has left me stranded. Several other pontics have had the same problem.
There is no recalls on my torrent but my car in power redude mode and i had it fixed then i came back a week later and stabilitytrak and tracking control and abs lights i fix it and they comes back
Gas leak i cant locate but fills the car with very strong gas fumes and can also be spelled as you approach the vehicle (approx.5 yards away). This has been happening for a while and no one can find a leak but can smell the gas odor strong. I purchased a new gas cap at the beginning of this problem but that didn't help either. I see there was a recall that sounds like the issue i am having but the dealers tell me that since i am not in the states listed i have to figure out how to pay to fix myself; which i can not afford and is my only transportation for myself and my 2 1 year old grandchildren. I need help please
The vehicle delays speed almost to a crawl during acceleration between 40 and 60 miles per hour. I smell gas constantly. Doesn't matter what the vehicle is doing. But the smell is very strong when i get gas, go around corners, and when it's warm out. The fumes give my husband and i headaches. I fear for my two small children who ride in the car. The fuel lines were replaced last spring to pass emissions testing. I've done research on the internet and see that there have been recalls issued for fuel problems in warmer states. However, the state i live has extreme temperature fluctuations from hot to cold. And gets very cold here in the winter. I'm not sure if the extreme changes could affect what part was recalled. I recently purchased this vehicle. So as to the duration of the ongoing issue, i am unsure. Although, i've had it now for a month.
I have had an issue with this vehicle ongoing since i purchased it.the actual first that the company has documented is 2/2010, 3/2011, and currently 2/2012.first the stabilitrak light comes on then shortly after the engine light comes on then you loose power to the vehicle and cannot accelerate and it is difficult to direct.i have contacted gm on two occasions regarding this issue.it appears that others are having this issue as i googled the info on the problem.i am not asking gm for something for nothing i am only asking them to find out why this is an ongoing problem, obviously there is a defect in the car somewhere to have this occur every year around the same time.i am currently under the powetrain warranty but that will expire in may of this year and this cost anywhere from $600-$800.this problem can be very dangerous and they seem to fail to see the dangers in it.you loose all power to the vehicle!!!!what is not dangerous about that.you don't have much of a warning because once that light comes on that's it...wouldn't be a problem if you are close to home but both times i was approx. 200 miles from home.i only ask them to either fix the issue or replace the vehicle!!!!!
The 1st thing that happened was the stability trac warning came on, took to the dealership, they could not find anything wrong and reset, this happened several more times until i took it to the local garage and they replaced a sensor. After that the cruise control went out, was intermittent until it no longer works and they have not been able to determine the problem, so i have been without for a year. The next thing to go was the drivers side tail light, i have had the bulb replaced 4 times, it lasts about a day, thedrivers side running lights went, bulb replaced several times, the shop has not been able to determine why, the code states an electrical problem, so i drive without drivers side running lights. Have been pulled over several times by police officers, they say they understand and told me to get in touch with gmc, which i have done. Still no result. Oh and i have taken it to the dealership, they cannot determine, but offered to find and repair for $700.00 and if gmc extends a recall, i will be reimbursed, so apparently in my estimations, they know the problem exists. What i am and have been going through reads very much like problems with other gmc products that have been recalled.
I'm driving red traffic light and i press my brakes to stop , and turn on my left turn signal light. I noticed the traffic light turn green so i accelerate and turn left. While accelerate gently i'm turning left i realized my left tire felt stuck and i heard and little weird noise. I proceed driving straight i press the brakes because there wasvehicle entering by turning right and driving straight in front of me. When i press the brakesi continue driving pressing the gas petal accelerating to 5 speed my vehicle slow down . I decided to press the gas pedal to accelerate the vehicle and the vehicle just drove very slow. I decided to make a quick right on the approaching street while i was driving the vehicle stop it just froze. I went ahead and look at the dashboard and see an code that's says stabilize trac and other codes . I park the vehicle and took the keys of the key ignition and insert the keys back to start the vehicle. The vehicle had started so , i decided to park the car when i did park the vehicle. The vehicleend up turning off . I wasn't able to start the vehicle on. The vehicle just wouldn't start on. There is a code stating a stability trak code on the dashboard and something about the battery. I was very concern because my daughter that's 2years old and 11 months was with me and i had to think fast and be cautious. I ends up towing my vehicle to a mechanic. This is my reliable vehicle for me an my daughter . The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for diagnostics where the mechanic advised that the throttle body position sensor would need to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. One year after repairs, the stabilitrak warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the steering became difficult and the vehicle became resistant to acceleration attempts. The vehicle was then towed to the dealer where the contact was awaiting the results of the diagnostics testing. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 40,000.
For one passenger air bag sensor has been working on and off for last couple years and now hasn't been working for last month! they keep telling me my vin is not in recall? now both airbags are not working? 2 the throttle position sensor cause my wife to almost get killed when it failed and said engine power reduced being displayed and would not accelerate while trying to cross an intersection! we replaced that ourselves. But we've been very disappointed in this vehicle with all the safety issues not being covered!
Air conditioner blows hot air and cold air.
While traveling down the road i tried to activate the rear wiper to clean the rear window.but the windshield wiper would not move and a horrendous noise came from the rear windshield wiper motor.the noise would not go away so i had to pull into a driveway to see if i could get it to stop.i had to manually push the windshield wiper to get it to work.after that i turned off the wiper because every time it tried to clear the window the noise came back and the wiper would not move.the wiper is broken and will not work under any circumstances. During rain this severely limits my rear window visibility.unfortunately because of the current economy i will have to wait to get it fixed.
Since april of last year, everytime it rains my car ends up flooding. I have had 2 car dealers look at it and they say it is coming from the bottom of the windshield. Not very happy.
Own a 2007 pontiac torrent. My heater blows only warm air in my vehicle. The blower fan and all the switches are fine. When i turn the temperature knob to hot air, only cold air comes out. I brought it to my mechanic and they ran a diagnostic. My temperature gauge was fine as was my coolant level. They advised that the temperature shaft is broken inside the heater box and would need to be fixed by removing the entire dash labor cost alone is above 1000k. I called gm to ask what they will do to assist with the cost but since there is no recall or class action they will not help to repair the damaged heater door.

I own a 2007 pontiac torrent and i was having trouble with my drivers side window not working and also the auto lock on my door(even with the keyless remote.it turns out that the wire harness had 4 broken wires and 1 more that was almost broken all the way thru.we were told that we were lucky that a fire did not start!
