We've been having an issue with the van decelerating on its own and having to lay down on the gas to get it going again.still havn't found out what it is.now our "awd disabled" light came on.this worries me because we live in mn and have terrible roads in the winter.that is one reason we bought this van is for the awd.

When it's cold and you start the vehicle i get a message reduced engine power. You have to immediately shut it off. Som etimes when you are driving down the road and it is warmed up it will do this and you have to find a safe place to pull over because if you try to give it gas it won't go anyways. I think it is a safety hazard because it can happen when you are going 70 mph on the interstate and cars are right on your ass. Luckily i wasn't on the interstate but i was on a highway going 60mph when it happened.

When starting the vehicle, or after awhile when you are driving the vehicle it will come up and read reduced engine power then you have to stop because it will not let you accelerate the gas pedal.sometimes when you turn it off and restart it, it will be fine and sometimes you have to wait about 10 minutes then restart.it doesn't matter if you are on a side street or on the highway, it just randomly does this.

The main wiring harness loom that runs across the transmission and under the air box, was rubbing the transmission and wore thru 4 of the wires causing the engine to shut down.

The contact owns a 2006 pontiac montana. The contact stated that the transmission failed. As a result, the vehicle decelerated and jerked violently. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 106,000.

Transmission locks up in park when parked and can not be released until the vehicle is pushed while someone is pulling down on the shift lever.results in being stranded unless someone is available to push.

Clunking noise due to faulty intermediate steering shaft in 2006 model pontiac montana.

The contact owns a 2006 pontiac montana. While driving at approximate speeds of 55 mph on normal road conditions, the vehicle began to pull to the right. The steering wheel became extremely difficult to maneuver. The vehicle had been taken to the dealer on numerous occasions due to the failure, which would occur regularly. An independent mechanic replaced the front wheel bearings, front and rear brakes. In addition, four new tires were installed with a wheel alignment service, none of which corrected the failure. Most recently, the vehicle was inspected and the failure was contributed to a defect in the steering knuckle. The vehicle had not yet been repaired. The failure mileage was 105,000 and the current was unknown.

My wife was driving along a country road when the passenger side rear ball joint separated, causing the rear to drop and pulling the vehicle to the side. Thankfully, it was not the driver's side, because she was passing a school and the buses were leaving. I had the vehicle towed to a garage where we inspected it. Although the ball joint was a lifetime lubricated unit, it was worn and failed. Upon further inspection, the driver's side was worn and, in the interest of safety, was replaced, as well. Total cost was $1403.44.when researching for recalls, i discovered that there is a recall in canada for this exact problem on this vehicle, but there is none in the us, although they were all built in the same plant!. Here's the link for the canadian recall: http://wwwapps.tc.gc.ca/saf-sec-sur/7/vrdb-bdrv/search-recherche/detail.aspx?lang=eng&mk=1890&md=montana%20sv6&fy=0&ty=9999&ft=&ls=0&sy=0&rn=2006199&cf=searchresult&pg=0.

2006 pontiac montana van, 9,000 miles, rear stabilizersnapped completely in halfwhile under normal driving conditions. No encountered with road debris, pot holes or other outside influences caused this problem. A loud noised was heard by the driver and she felt the rear endwobble. She pulled the van to a stop. The rearwheel and "axle" became "free floating and detached from the frame"causing the tire to roll backwards into the wheel well and the stabilizer to fall to the ground. Fortunately, this happened in parking lot while moving less than 5 mph, and not at a highway speed. The dealer who is conducting the warranty work stated that he had never seen this problem, but would report it to gm and also noted that no other area under the car had any damage, indicating that it appeared to be strictly a failed structure. The "stabilizer had apparently just snapped", he stated. The van had never been involved in any accidents and was purchase new from a certifiedgm dealer.the whole rear end, axle, brake lines, stabilizer and other related parts have to be replaced.

The contact owns a 2006 pontiac montana. While driving 55 mph there was a thumping sound and a screeching noise causing the vehicle fish tail. The vehicle was driven onto the side of the road where he noticed that the tire was leaning into the wheel well and the right rear ball joints were broken. The vehicle was towed to the dealer who replaced the ball joints and the tire. He had to pay for the repairs since there was no warranty or recall. The failureoccurred previously on the left rear tire where the ball joint was broken. The manufacturer was not notified. The vin was unavailable. The failure mileage was 80,000 and the current mileage was 86,000.

When having my oil changed at a garage while the vehicle was on the lift both frame rails had severe rust damage. Since this is what gives the unibody frame it's strength, why didn't gm zinc coat them or apply rust proofing? i live in southeast michigan where they use salt on the roads in winter. Seeing gm is also in michigan you would think they would be aware of this and act accordingly? the only reason i can think of is to save money, increase profits, at the expense of the vehicle being safe for the consumer. I don't see designing the frame rails to last for 20-25 years for safety reasons as being unreasonable.

2006 pontiac montana sv6 rear window blew out. Upon inspection mechanic determined the window was faulty. Consumer would like to be reimbursed for window repair.
