I was t-boned and the airbag did not deploy. I had numerous indications from the instrument panel to check the airbags since i bought the car in 2009 and at least three times i took the car to two different dealerships and they checked and said they could not find anything wrong.

For the last couple months the check air bag light comes on and won't go off.i took to dealership and they said that they have no recall information on it.not sure where to go after that.also i had a recall for transmission and they said its not the recall.my transmission went out. So that cost a lot of money out of my pocket.just wondering where to go from here?

While waiting for the recall parts to come in for my pontiac i was the victim in a head on collision in which my air bags failed to deploy. The speed of impact was between 35-40 mph when i hit head on. At my doctor visit i was diagnosed with severe whiplash in which i had to take time off of work as well. I wanted to bring this defect to your attention in case you can fix this defect before there are any other victims involved. I'm now very scared to get back in the car i have which is currently at dutton motor co in riverside awaiting it's tremendous repairs although the air bags are still in tact. Started car (2009 pontiac g5) with 55,907 mileage morning of 02/15/2015 and vehicle displayed "service air bag" and showed red airbag dash symbol which did not turn off indicating airbags were off and would not deploy in the case of an accident. Car also displays "passenger airbag off" even in the instance there is a passenger in the vehicle. This has been happening everyday for the last week. I've noticed a lot of people with this same issue even after ignition switch was replaced with the recent recall. I was not having this problem before that system was replaced so i'm thinking there is a connection that is causing this issue to occur. Bought this car brand new and have never gotten into an accident. I have noticed that a lot of people with this vehicle have gotten into accidents where the airbags never deployed at all. I think this is something that should be looked into as it has caused many injuries and deaths.

Around 127000 miles i noticed a strong smell of gasoline, and a small drip from under my car, after taking a closer look i noticed that it was gas, and it was coming from the retaining clip that holds the fuel/brake lines in place, i was not financially stable to have this repaired at the time, and it wasn't leaking to bad so i left it go, after about 2-3 more weeks i was driving and noticed that i could literally see my fuel gauge dropping, i immediately pulled over and inspected the problem area and see that the car was dumping fuel and a very high pressurized rate, i also took note that the gas was being sprayed onto the hot exhaust that is about 4-6? away from the fuel lines, i got the car home and parked it, after doing hours of research i seen that 95% of this year and model of gm have this issue due to the heat shielding on the fuel lines after searching my vin it says that my vehicle has no active recalls but i've seen complaint after complaint about this issue, not only that it is extremely dangerous that gas is being stayed out under pressure which is causing it to vaporize and become even more of a fire hazard, not to mention it is inches away from the exhaust and directly below the fuel tank... This issue should defiantly be addressed with gm and be submitted for recall in my opinion, this issue only happens when the vehicle is on or the key is turned to the on position and the fuel pump is primed and running to charge the fuel lines, after the vehicle is turned off the leak stops after the fuel line has drained onto the ground causing another fire hazard and a environmental hazard making it an issue to start the car again due to no gas being in the lines, in my case i have to turn the key to on and give the fuel pump about 15 seconds to prime and pump gas into the lines, this issue has made it impossible to drive as i dump a gallon of fuel every 2-3 miles.

I have a 2009 pontiac g5. The fuel pump cracked recently and i had to have it towed and replaced at the nearest shop. I brought in the recall for the fuel pump to my gmc dealer, as i saw it online, and my receipt of the replacement fuel pump. The description of the recall matches my vehicle and i am told i am unable to receive reimbursement because the recall is "vin specific". My car matches the exact detail of the recall, but the recall is not applied to my vin?!i'd like to know why! i have the carfax to show that my vehicle applies to the standards of the recall. I'd like contacted immediately on this situation.

My wife noticed a gasoline smell in the car and after searching for problem found fuel tank is leaking from the top of tank and seeping down onto the frame and other areas. I found that 2007 models were recalled in 2009 for this problem but not newer models.

Fuel line is leaking underneath, behind drivers door & in front of rear wheel.along with the chevy cobalt (the equivalent to my pontiac g5), this an all too common problem as i have research numerous complaints of this same leak from the same location. This is a potential fire hazard & i am having difficulty finding the replacement fuel lines.

Fuel leak. Over drivers side rear wheel . Fuel feed line in area covered with moon tape behind heat shield.previously reported a fuel leak on feed line just beyond the fuel filter. Now have two fuel leaks. Fuel return line also looks corroded .

Fuel leaking from the fuel line on the driver side.

I went in to get an oil change done for my car and one of the workers said that they had to stop because they were smelling gas coming from the driver side rear of my car. I then later find out that my car has a fuel line leak. I did some research and found that my car has not been the only one as it also happens to chevy cobalts, which my car is pretty much a copy of.

Gas is leaking (fairly steady flow) near rear driver-side tire when engine is running, in park or drive, stops leaking once car is off. This appears like it should be covered by #12191b, but according to gm my vin is not in system as being covered. Gm will not cover unless i take care in for diagnostics. I wont take car in for diagnostics since it could catch fire until i know that it will be covered. Vehicle has a little over 100k miles.

Car started smelling of gas. Then garage smelled of gas. Then the fuel economy became inaccurate. Then gas started dripping from under car. Then gas started streaming under car. Then told gm dealer and was told there would be no remedy until gm recalls take effect. Now,8 months later no repair offered. Car is unsafe and leaves me stranded regularly as it pours gas out of car.i will take car back to dealer and expect immediate repair.

Fuel line leakage - gas leaks out quickly until the tank is empty. The car is undrivable in this condition, which seems to be a hugely common problem with the 2009 pontiac g5. A massive gas leak is a safety concern.

Vehicle stationary - experienced a hard start post driving, after driving i smelled a strong gasoline vapor.based on the symptoms and the make, model, year, this appears to be a fuel leak of some sort caused by a deteriorating plastic tube in the fuel line which should be covered by recallhttps://www.usatoday.com/story/money/cars/2012/09/29/general-motors-recall/1602747/

Fuel leaking from fuel lines on driver side just in front of rear wheel well.

My 2009 pontiac g5 was driven to work this morning 6-10-21and parked in a michigan state vehicle garage. Security notified me at work that my vehicle had a puddle of gas under and near a rear tire.i removed vehicle frome parking garage and parked it in a remote openparking lot.a gas leak in a car is dangerous, and a safety issue for me and others , especially in a parking garage!!! the vehicle has always been maintained as i am the original owner of the car. The car will be delivered to the dealer for inspection on 6/14/21. There are no recalls on this car . Opon my own investigation after the incident, there are numerous complaints logged into nhtsa of a rust issue of the fuel line where it is clamped near the fuel tank. There is also reports ofcrack developing at the intank fuel pump connection. All cobalts,g5 's and other variations of this vehicle should be recalled immediately and inspections of the fuel system be reported back to nhtsa. Was there a fire? my answer is"not yet".

There is a huge leak in my gas line. I see that this was a defect in the older models of the g5 and they were recalled for it, but there is no recall for my year model and i am having the same kind of problem as stated in those older model recalls for the gas line. I am afraid to drive the vehicle and i am having a hard time getting it serviced, not at my expense because of this defect. It started after i had taken my vehicle to get two recall items done on it recently (a week ago). I am not saying that this is the cause, but i had never had a problem with this vehicle other than this time. I would like someone to check into there being a potential fire hazard in the fuel line of the newer model 2009 pontiac g5's as well.

The contact owns a 2009 pontiac g5.the contact stated that the gear selector failed to correctly display the current gear. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the shift lever needed to be replaced. There was a recall under nhtsa campaign id number 09v073000 (power train) but the dealer indicated that this was not a safety issue. The vehicle was not repaired. I was presented with the unsafe condition of being unable to turn the key in my ignition to shut off the vehicle.i attempted turning the key to the off position and it would not move.i repeatedly shifted the car from park to drive and turned the steering wheel in an attempt to loosen the key. My attempts also included enlisting the help of my wife to make sure i was trying to shut the car off correctly. After 30 minutes of idling in the driveway, i pulled the fuel pump relay to starve the vehicle of fuel and it shut off with the key still stuck in the run position. I then disconnected the battery to shut off the lights. I had a spare set of keys so i locked the car doors in my driveway with the keys still in the ignition. The following morning, i called my employer and notified them i would be unable to get to work. I then unlocked the doors with my spare keys, reconnected the battery, and took my car to martin chevrolet in saginaw, michigan. Upon arriving i was again unable to shut the vehicle off and it idled while i was checked in.she informed me that this was a common problem with the chevrolet cobalt and pontiac g5 vehicles.faced with no other option but to have my vehicle fixed, i paid the dealership to replace the cylinder (02188-pck) and provide me with a new key.the unsafe condition of being unable to shut off a running vehicle is unacceptable.i have done several searches online and this appears to be a common problem with chevy cobalts and pontiac g5 vehicles. Gm has also released a technical service bulletin (#09-02-35-005b) reporting this problem for vehicles produced before april 2009. They have also released a newly designed ignition lock cylinder to eliminate this problem and i believe it should be fixed under their powertrain warranty or a recall.

The problem seems to be the torque converter engaging/disengaging, repeatedly every 3 to 7 seconds, under steady throttle, going between 35 and 42 mph.it will start the engaging/disengaging "hickups". When this happens, it feels like the engine is missing, or a feeling of it having the "hickups" or "jerking", worse upon an incline in the road.*ln

Vehicle had faulty terminal connection causing a loss in power steering and problems with display/odometer/tachometer.this was repaired.vehicle manual transmission grinds when putting into 3rd gear, even with fully disengaged clutch.the problem occurs with colder temperatures, but once the engine is warm, 3rd gear does not grind.potentially an issue with synchronization.

Cause unknown. Noticed problem sometime in 2017.car rattles (in front of car) off and on.determined it's not the wheels or tires.rattling comes and goes.driver can make the rattling go away by changing speeds or with a slight turn of the steering wheel either left or right. (e.g. Lane change)diagnosis was that the problem was neither a tire nor rack and pinion problem.

Last night my vehicle could turn normally, but this morning the notification screen said power stering. So its really hard to turn now.

The power steering warning light comes on and there is a sudden loss of power steering assist.you will just be driving down the road, city street or interstate and the car will ding," the power steering light comes on" and you are without power steering.the previous 2 times, my son stated he was able to pull to the side of the interstate, turn the vehicle off, wait a few minutes, turn it back on and it was fine.that is not the case since 2/10/2016, there is no power steering.there is a recall for this year, make and model but i am told it is not under the recall. How is that possible? it is doing everything the recall states, it is one of the makes and models specified and yet i am being told it is not covered under the recall?this is my son's car, he could have been killed.without the power steering, it takes great effort to turn and you definitely cannot make any tight turns, it was all we could do to get it home.my son stated it has done this twice in the past 6 months.

Complete loss of power steering. In 2010 there was a recall and the power steering motor was replaced. Now i was told ,by the company, that i have to pay for the repair.

I will be driving and all of a sudden a lost power steering. This happened on a left turn where i was not ready to perceive no power steering and came very close to an accident. This should not happen and there should be a recall on these cars. Also i have a parasitic battery drain which started after the ignition key was changed for the third time. This time they had to reprogram car and key. This happen in oct 2014.please reply to my email.respectfully, [xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

I was driving 30 mph and the steering mechanism went out. It affected my ability to control turning my vehicle. It is not safe to drive. I checked online to find out that many cars including my cars year, make, and model are being recalled. I contacted my local dealer who informed me that my vin has not been recalled as of yet. Please advise as soon as possible.

My son was driving a 2009 pontiac g5 in a high school parking lot at approximately 40mph +/- and went to make sudden turn when the power steering completely failed. He slammed on the brakes and even pulled the e-brake to no avail and hit a block wall. As a result of this accident he sustained neck and back injuries as well as other bumps and bruises. The vehicle hit the wall at approximately a 20 degree angle hitting thedriver side front corner at the headlight area. The impact resulted in major damage to thefront corner panel, hood, driver door, radiator, and possible bent frame. After backing the car away from the wall the power steering started working again but with loss of fluids the vehicle had to be towed away and my son getting checked out for his injuries. The vehicle is equipped with on-star but it failed to acknowledge the impact sensors and did send any type of message or response. The air bags did not deploy either. We did receive a recall notice about the power steering unit but it did not say the vehicle would have a complete loss of steering.the notice did not say to quit driving the vehicle until a fix was in place so we thought it was still safe to drive. It is my understanding now that this problem has been going on for years. Why didn't the dealer have to inform us before we bought it. I will never put my son in that car again fixed or not.

I purchased aspen touring as tires in 12/2014. 20,000 miles on tires and sidewall has bump. I took vehicle to merchants tire culpeper virginia and tahey were going to charge me $57.00 to replace obviously defective tire. Was only $60.00 tire to begin with. They were prorating tire and charging me another fee for road hazard warranty on tire which i had purchased on all tires at time of original purchase. Has there been an issue with defective sidewalls on these tires?

The access water from the a/c unit that issupposed to be on the outside of the car is leaking into the electrical unit system and into the a/ccompartment. Now we have no radio no a/c or heater in the car the window will not defrost.
