The contact owns a 2007 pontiac g5. While driving 35 mph, the air bag indicator illuminated without warning. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 106,141.

Same issue as cadilac recall for passenger presence module defect..will not detect passenger presence in seat, passenger airbag light stays off...airbag will not deploy in an accident.

Driving around a corner in town at approximately 25 miles per hour in snowy conditions on a rough road; tried to accelerate to make it up a hill and the accelerator wouldn't work (could push down, but wouldn't accelerate); tried to turn the steering wheel to make the corner and the vehicle started sliding on the snow; tried to turn the wheel in the opposite direction and was unable to manipulate the wheel.crashed the vehicle into two parked cars; the seat belt mount disconnected from the frame.the air bag did deploy.driver was unable to shut off the engine after the wreck.

I had just got car the very next day as i was turning a corner i suddenly lost power steering . Causing car to flip . There was broken glass and went into top of hand . I was told by emt that stitches could not be put there .so they bandaged it just banged up and they said i seemed fine if i had any problems in next few hours to go to hospital. So i was not taken. Since then i've developed numbness in hand and wrist.

Takata recall:. I was involved in an accident at highway speed that totaled my car and my airbags did not deploy..i have severe whiplash.

I never had an accident with the car and the airbag light when on for no apparent reason.i called gm my reference # [xxx] they would not replace the airbag due to the warranty over 4,000 miles over.i finally got them to pay for 1/2 the airbag and it was very expensive, but they never said what was wrong i am finding out now that the recall may be part of the problem i had earlier.is there anyway i can get back the money i spent on a new airbag that should not have had to have been replaced due to this recall with the ignition? i am worried now that because of the airbag problem i have greater potential of the iginition problem as well. Gm did not want to help me with this problem and after several days and persistance they finally went half on the cost with me, but i felt then that it was a safety issue and they really didn't care. I was in an accident last year and the safety air bag did not deploy.

Service air bag is appearing when passenger is seated.

Car has never been in an accident, yet the car displays service airbag light. Gm should recall and fix this issue. I see alot of complaints about the airbag not deploying upon impact or accident, this scares me.

Owning a pontiac g5, i was part of the ignition switch recall. After receiving service for this recall, started experiencing 'service air bag' light and verbiage on odometer intermittently. As of this date, 11/03/2014, the light and message has been coming on each time i start the car, along with the dinging associated with the message, and stays on the entire time i drive the vehicle. I have heard that there is a recall on air bags on over 8,000,000 cars, that the air bags deploy and shoot shrapnel into the driver's faces, and am wondering if my vehicle is one of them.

The contact owns a 2007 pontiac g5. The contact stated that the service air bag warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer who advised that there was a short in the passenger side seat belt retractor. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact had not made the manufacturer aware of the problem. The current mileage was approximately 50,000. The failure mileage was approximately 49,500.

The contact owns a 2007 pontiac g5. The contact was driving approximately 40 mph and crashed into the passenger's side of another vehicle. The air bags failed to deploy. The contact sustained injuries to the neck and a police report was filed. The vehicle was destroyed. The dealer performed an inspection to determine the air bag failure but was not able to do so. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 79,052.

When the front passenger seat is occupied, the passenger side air bag shuts off.there hasn't been an incident.i'm reporting the failure of the front passenger side air bag for reporting purposes.when the car goes into the shop for recall repairs, i'll have the air bag problem repaired.

I just purchased this vehicle on 02/06/19 passanger airbag light is off an will not come on when an adult sits in the passanger side .also will not alow you to turn it on thats when i started learning about the recall. Takata recall

Service air bag light on dashboard was on and passenger airbag off light on ever since i owned the car. The car was bought used with 122k miles on it so i'm not sure when this issue first arrived on this make and model. I have done some research into the issue and it seems recalls are out for this issue on lots of 2007 pontiac g5s i also had experienced the key getting stuck in the ignition in november 2016

I saw on the internet re-calls for gm cars and found that my particular model/year car was being recalled.the more reading i did on the subject i realized that everything that i had to have fixed on my car was being recalled.i have spent thousands of dollars getting my airbags, my steering column, my brakes, my computer sensors, the steering harness, etc. Fixed on this car only to find out that there had been re-calls.i am currently waiting for the 'local dealership' to find a 'good used' steering column for my car since mine is breaking down and they said they can't get one.i also own a gmc s-10 in which the key fits into my car and turns it on.i called the local dealership and told them that i knew there was a recall recently and that everything i've had fixed on that pontiac g5 is now being recalled.hope you can help me.

2007 pontiac g5.consumer writes in regards to seat belt, engine and other vehicle problems.the consumer stated on july 30, 2012, the seat belts had to be replaced, due to the check air bags light was flashing. She was charged $100 for a seat belt kit. One year later, while driving in the passing lane at 70 mph, the vehicle slowed down to about 20 or 30 mph.the consumer was able to get off the road. She turned the vehicle off, waited and re-started it again. The check engine light remained on. The dealer replaced the sensor behind the accelerator pedal. In december 2013, the vehicle slowed down once again, while driving at 70 mph. The dealer charged her for an accelerator pedal, and the automatic door trunk, trunk opener and the electric start, never worked since. The consumer was informed, she probably dropped the keys and broke something inside.however, everything worked up until that point.

Air bags did not deploy on a pontiac g5 2007 2d. My 20 yr old college student son was driving on the 101 fwy, where the car to his left switched lane to come in front of my son's car, other driver had a sudden brake. My son collided into the car in front of him at speed of 40-50mph but air bags didn't deploy. He was wearing the seat belt, however, he is now being treated for neck and back injury, can't drive to school and the aaa insurance company declared the car as total loss due to major frontal damage.

The contact owns a 2007 pontiac g5. While driving approximately 30 mph, another vehicle failed to stop and crashed head on into the contact's vehicle. The frontal air bags did not deploy. A police report was filed. The contact sustained severe whiplash and bruises to the chest and arm areas that required medical attention. The vehicle was destroyed. The failure mileage and vin were not available.

"service airbags" screen keeps popping up on dashboard. I've noticed many others with a pontiac g5 2007 or chevy cobalt have the same issue. When the light is on, i was told by a dealership, that the airbags will not deploy. The passenger seat doesn't register anyone sitting on the seat even when someone is sitting and buckled up.

Tl- the contact owns a 2007 pontiac g5. The contact stated while driving approximately 20 mph, the vehicle lost control. The vehicle crashed into a tree and the airbags deployed. There were no warning light indicators on the instrument panel. A police report was filed and there were no major injuries. The driver and the passenger was not injured. The vehicle was able to be driven to the contacts residence. The vehicle was not inspected nor diagnosed. After the accident the right rear passengers side back wheel locks up. The vehicle was not inspected nor diagnosed. The contact was included in nhtsa campaign id number: 14v047000 (air bags , electrical system) after the failure occured. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 120000. Dyd

We own a 2007 pontiac g5 and about 4 months ago we started noticing the air bag light coming on, but then it would go back off on its own.it has exhibited this on and off pattern for 4 months now and there is no rhyme or reason for it.we have owned the car for approximately 4 years and have never had this air bag light problem before.the car has never been in any accidents.today we had our pontiac g5 in to the dealership for a recall on the ignition switch, so we asked the dealership to take a look at the air bag light situation as well.we were told that there is a defect in the drivers front air bag and it will not deploy if the car is in an accident.they recommend replacing the air bag at our expense of $1063.37.in reviewing other complaints on this website is appears that several other people are having the same issue with their air bag light on the same make, model, and year of pontiac g5 and the chevy cobalt's.it seems to me that general motors should be considering this air bag light problem as a safety recall since the air bag will not deploy in the event of an accident.if it is a defect, shouldn't general motors be responsible to fix it?

Service air bag message on display. Seat belt icon on dash stays on.dealer is asking for $110.00 to diagnose the problem. State requires a yearly inspection, which cannot be performed due to dash icon. No action has been taken. Was mentioned in key switch recall, which was performed.

The contact owns a 2007 pontiac g5. The contact stated that the passenger side air bag warning light illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 82,000.

My service air bag light is on. Never hit nothing or anything. So some malfunction. All the wires underneath is together checked them. So not sure what it may be.

Gm has sent numerous recall letters about the faulty ignition switch on my 2007 pontiac g5.i went to a local dealership to put in a request for parts. Seemed odd that i had to request parts for a well known safety recall. The dealership is jupiter chevrolet at 11611 lbj fwy, garland, tx 75041.i put in this request about 7 weeks ago. I have not heard from gm or jupiter chevrolet about the parts.i called the dealership over a week ago and had to leave a message because they could not answer the phone. Still no return call. I would appreciate any help you can provide to get my car in safe operating condition. Thanks

My daughter was involved in a car crash were someone made a left turn in front of her.her new pontiac g5 hit the other car head on about 25-30 miles an hour.the airbag never deployed which allowed her head to hit the steering wheel.she had to be taken to the hospital were several test were taken. She is luck that she has only minor neck problems.the car had over $4500 in damage and needs new frame rails.

Error message" service air bag", continuously displays on heads up dash controls.

"service airbag" message and light appears on in instrument cluster.dealer disassembled steering wheel and column.cleaned electrical connections, resecured wire connection, and cleared error code at 88,002 miles.within 1 day of repair service message and light were on again.

Service air bag light on constantly.

I was just driving home an on the freeway the car just stopped, i was lucky that i could just coast in to a safe area. After awhile i turned it on an it started up.. The same thing happened today2/26/14 i stopped at the post office and it wouldnot turn oni waited about ten minutes and it started. It seems to be the ignition.

While driving, there's a chime and all my gauges drop to zero. I get a "power steering" and "low fuel" alerts on my dashboard (and i'm pretty sure the power steering goes out). See video at: http://goo.gl/naw5ns.

While driving on highway felt vehicle begin to lose power.noticed that when i tried turning the steering wheel. I had lost my power steering and was unable to steer vehicle.shortly after that engine completely shut down.due to loss of electrical power to dash, power steering, engine, and lights.while driving down the freeway.it took everything i had to keep vehicle in traffic andcoast to nearest exit. Once i stopped there was no power at all. Tow truck driver attempted to jump start vehicle, but vehicle showed no transfer of powerto the vehicle.had to have vehicle towed home.

I was driving down the highway at 70mph (posted speed limit) when the rpm gauge dropped to 0 and the car lost power. I was able to ease my way onto the shoulder but with no power breaks i had to mash down the break petal finally coming to a stop. The vehicle was towed back into town and am still waiting to find out the cause of this issue. The car has less than 80,000 miles on it! i have dealt with the ignition switch recall, the timing chain has been replaced twice already, the headlights and break lights have to be changed every 3 months just about, and now this!

2007 pontiac g5.steering gave out twice causing near collision both times, brake failure at times.sometimes the brakes are fine sometimes they cant even slow the vehicle down.dash lights, all gauges, signal lights, radio, heater fan, rear defrost comes on and goes out rapidly at times causing inside of car cabin to fill with smoke.gm claims that this is normal and that none of these complaints are considered to be safety issues. The car has only 44000kms on it.there was 42000 when these problems started getting serious.they say the have the steering problem fixed, but i haven't had the car back long enough to know as it ends up in the garage every couple of days.the car duplicated the problems for the mechanic at the gm dealership but they say they don't know what is causing the problems.the gave the car back with the problems and said that i am stuck with it.when i asked them about it filling up with smoke they said if it happens again get out and let it burn. Easy for them to say....it is my family that is in this car including two small children in car seats.someone has to stop this before it is too late and someone gets killed because of gm's junk they are putting on the road.any help in these matters would greatly be appreciated.

Ignition switch is faulty but my cars vinyl doesn't bring up a recall even though the recall is out for other makers and models

The contact owns a 2007 pontiac g5. While driving various speeds, the odometer and speedometer displayed incorrect readings. In addition, while driving 35 mph, the steering wheel became very difficult to turn. The contact had to apply force to the steering wheel in order to steer the vehicle. The failure recurred on numerous occasions. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the computer that controlled the power steering needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was aware of nhtsa campaign number: 10v073000 (steering), but the vin was not included. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 69,175.

I picked my vehicle up at the dealership today from having the ignition switch recall done on it(took 2months) and i was told that the key still does not come out of the ignition when the car is in park and that i need to purchase and replace the shifter to correct the problem. This is just unacceptable!! this should all be included in the recall!! that is all you hear about on the news is about this recall and the key being stuck in the ignition.

This is like the third email i write in regards to this car.the dealership has been very irresponsible with the problem and recalls.with been waiting for months for the part to arrive since they already made us waste a day to tell us the parts aren't available.well last saturday (28 june 2014) the car shutoff going downhill thank god she managed to take control with the emergency brake.not sure what else to do.she should get a car from the dealership until they fix the problem, its her only car and she has to go to work and public transportation in pr is really bad.

Pontiac g5 gts 2007 driving on 408 in orlando florida in pouring rain car shuts down to low engine power, got a tow home a mechanic diagnostic as the ignition switch fault. I now have to tow to a gm dealership at my out of pocket cost rented a car at out of pocket cost.i need to reimbursed

The contact owns a 2007 pontiac g5. While driving approximately 25 mph, the vehicle shut down. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where the bci and the ignition cylinder switch needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact mentioned that a year prior to the failure occurring, the vehicle was serviced under a manufacturers recall for the related failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 40,400 updated 8/21/15updated 03/03/14.

Serious safety issue here..on 1/18/2011i got in my car went to the store. At this time i noticed a strong odor of gas inside my vehicle. Next day i started car and backed it out smelled stronger gas smell. Pulled car back in garage. Car was towed to gm dealer. Gm dealer stated "nothing is wrong with the vehicle" paid $200 got car back still wreaks of strong gas smell upon starting (inside the vehicle). I have contacted the attorney general and gm. I am getting nowhere with getting this vehicle repair.basically the two warranties aren't being used because the gm dealers don't want to wait on their money and other pontiac g-5's have had the same problem (same year make and model)the fuel module and fuel pump are to be replaced free of charge i am getting conflicting statements on "my car not being on recall" andfindingswhere there is a recall. I am considering giving the car back and requesting a full refund if they are not backing their warranty. I feel this car has severe safety issues and i cannot drive a vehicle that is a fire hazard/explosion risk. I was always told if you smell gas don't drive a vehicle. I'm starting to think when they sold the vehicle they knew there was safety issues as i was forced into gap insurance and an extended warranty. What good did it do to have all these protections if none of them are getting my car repaired. The first thing i did after smelling fuel was look up on recall information.. Vehicles assembled in mexico and alabama were on recallgm stated "your car is not included" why i am having these issues with my vehicle.? the recall states the fuel module may crack and leak gas which may result in fire/explosion. This will be the third recall i purchased the vehicle new. First door locks, then steering problem, now fuel leak.

Service air bag light on dashboard was on and passenger airbag off light on ever since i owned the car. The contact owns a 2007 pontiac g5. When the vehicle was started, the power steering warning indicator was illuminated and the fuel gauge, oil life indicator, speedometer, and trip odometer gauges were inoperable. Additionally, the transmission seized in first gear. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The dealer and manufacturer were not notified of the failures. The approximate failure mileage was 150,000.

After shutting off vehicle, the cooling fans would engage. They would continue to run for 15-20 mins regardless of engine temp or run time. This was the first indication that something was wrong. Shortly after that the car would not start due to lack of power from battery. I had a diagnostic check run on system that showed that most parts of the electrical system had some type of error or another. I replaced the battery due to a bad cell and re-ran diagnostic. Shows that the computer was not operating correctly which was tripping the rest of the error messages. Would this be a factory defect for the computer?

When attempting to unlock the doors (with the remote or key then lock button on the drivers door) some doors do not unlock and have to be manually unlocked.

Following a 2007 or 2008 pontiac g5 as driven by a friend. Noticed occasionally (though not always) the center brake light would illuminate and the main brake lights would lag behind considerably (probably somewhere between 2 tenths and half a second).

My vehicle was one in the ignition switch recall. However, since i bought the vehicle ever so often and more and more the gauges will go crazy all lights (check engine, power steering, antitheft, etc) will all go on at once! this happens as i am driving it and without warning (on the highway, or just driving in the city). The car acts as if i am pressing the gas and brakes at the same time and i can't steer the car! this needs to become a recall as i know of numerous other cars this is happening to. Just look online! they can never find anything when i take it in and someone will end up dying if this doesn't get resolved.

My vehicle is part of the nationwide recall of gm vehicles due to a faulty ignition switch.the issues with these vehicles came to light months ago, and i got a recall notice the beginning of march.i called my local dealers to schedule an appointment, but was told they had not received the recall parts yet and i would be notified once they were sent.after not hearing anything for over a month i called the dealerships again today and was told the parts still have not been sent.this is beyond unacceptable.people are dying because of this issue and gm clearly doesn't care.how a safety recall could be initiated and parts still not be available months later is mind boggling.if gm doesn't care about their drivers safety hopefully you do.

I need this investigated please !!!!!!!i have a 2007 pontiac g5 and have been having issues with the engine running erratically. The rpm will jump up while i'm driving at a constant speed. This has been going on for a few months. Two weeks ago i was stopped at a traffic light and it speed up and red lined and lurched into the intersection. Thank god everyone avoided each other. It was during rush hour !!! it happened again this morning and i was almost t-boned by a semi !!! i have had it checkedand no one has found anything!! there was a mechanic that had it cut up some when he drove it but said it was not doing enough to diagnose the problem. There are no warning lights on and it is random doing it. We have tried putting it in the same situations to get it to do it so the mechanics can see it for themselves, but have had no luck !!!!! i am very concerned about this and want something done !!!!! if more of these cars are doing this someone is going to die !!!! it is extremely dangerous and needs investigated please !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1. We own a 2007 pontiac g5 with 17,000 miles on it.the key stuck in the ignition and we couldn't get it out!we found out that there is a service bulletin for this problem (#09-02-35-005b) dated february 4, 2010.however, because this is not a recall and the vehicle is no longer under warranty (36 month/36,000 miles expired on august 11, 2010) we will be required to pay for this repair ourselves.our local dealer (now the chevrolet dealer in fayetteville, arkansas) wants $45.00 just to look at it!2. Key stuck in the ignition.only occurred once so far.3. Since others have had this problem we were able to read on line and figure out how to get the key out and, at least temporarily, repair it ourselves.we are sure it will happen again!

Headlights staying on after car is turned off and keys are taken out. This has been going on for approx.a year. Now the lights will shut completely off lowering the light to or from highbeam. Can cause an accident by running off road in the dark or causing an accident leaving bright lights on in on coming traffic.

Steering gets so hard, i at 220lbs can barely steer the car going forward or reverse.my daughter is learning on this car for her license but i am no longer letting her drive it since the steering randomly gets hard and the electronic stability control and abs lights have come on also.it also says in the information section traction control service.something needs to be done from gm for these problems before they kill people.

While driving on icy roads, the car began to slide and spin out of control.as i attempted to correct the motion of the car, the engine switched off.and because the engine had switched off, it became impossible to turn the steering wheel.the car spun around at least 3 complete rotations (of 360 degrees) before sliding to a stop on the side of the road.the gear shift was still in drive, and could not immediately be changed to park.but naturally, the car had to be restarted, which it finally did after much effort.and the car could be put into park after the engine had restarted.

When pep boys first removed the passenger rear engine cradle bolt back in march, the factory nut broke off from being welded to the car body. When a local mechanic recently removed the bolt for related service, he showed it to me. The threads on the middle of the bolt shaft were all seemingly chewed up. The local mechanics best guess was that the air conditioner condenser drains on to that area, which originally weakened the factory welded nut, and causing corrosion on the engine cradle bolt. The bolt won't last long, and i have ordered a replacement bolt, at my expense, to replace the prematurely 'worn' original bolt. Unfortunately, not much can be done to restore having a factory welded nut to receive said bolt. Had i not commissioned the additional work, i may have had a serious accident in the future, unaware of the bolt corroding away!

At the end of september 2013 i noticed a disturbing noise when i started my car. It was a loud rattling sound that lasted about 3 seconds when cranking my car. To my surprise the timing chain had snapped in half. On october 20-21, 2013, the timing chain set was removed and replaced by a trusted mechanic who informed me that i was lucky the engine had not been damaged. My complaint in question is why at only 54,540 miles did the timing chain snap in half?my next question is have there been any other complaints made by other owners or manufacturers of this model relating to this issue? i was frustrated as it was having to have the set replaced at only 54,540 miles, but i am even more frustrated with the latest recalls on my car(13454 and 14063). Especially when i learned gm had known the potential for this recall for an extensive amount of time. I loved this car when i got it, but now i have begun to question the entire integrity of my vehicle structurally, electrically, and mechanically. Even if nothing results from filing this complaint, honestly all i want is a human response that gives me some sort of belief that someone gives a[ xxx] about this matter.

My 2007 pontiac g5 is having power steering failure and it is hard to turn the wheel and i almost had an accident on 07/16/2009 due to this. My car was purchased "brand new" and should not have any issues this early. The ashland, va pontiac dealership wants $100 to look at it. I know that their is an investigation for the pontiac g6's, but something is not right here.

Headlights would not shut off on car. After lots of investigation, it seems this is a common problem with cobalts and g5. Had to remove fuses to shut headlights off and put them back in to have headlights. Needed a new under hood fuse block which costs around $300. Apparently the relay malfunctioned and there is not an easy way to replace it since it is soldered into a circuit board which is part of the whole fuse block. Why hasn't this been recalled if it is such a common problem?

Following a 2007 or 2008 pontiac g5 as driven by a friend. Noticed occasionally (though not always) the center brake light would illuminate and the main brake lights would lag behind considerably (probably somewhere between 2 tenths and half a second).

Headlights staying on after car is turned off and keys are taken out. This has been going on for approx.a year. Now the lights will shut completely off lowering the light to or from highbeam. Can cause an accident by running off road in the dark or causing an accident leaving bright lights on in on coming traffic.

Headlights go dim or off while driving. On inspection, the h11 bulb connector has shorted, melted and is charred. I have since replaced the connector 3 times and entire headlight assemblies once. This car has not been included in identical gm recalls to date for this part.

The contact owns a 2007 pontiac g5. The contact stated that the headlights failed. The low beams failed to work intermittently when switched from high beam to low beam. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 152,102.

Just after warranty of 3 years with only 44k, the brake light and left turn light of my 2007 pontiac g5 burned. The life of the bulbs cannot be this short, gm should investigate why the bulbs so easy to be burned.

2007 pontiac g5. Consumer writes in regards to headlight assembly failure(overheating). *tgwthe consumer stated the headlight burned out. She assumed it would be an easy replacement of the bulb. However, the dealer informed her the headlight assembly melted, which in turn caused the light to no longer work.

I took my car to the dealer for fuel leaks and they replaced the recall items( fuel pump) on the fuel system. I drove home and filled it up to find gallons of gasoline pouring down my driveway. Dropped it off at the dealer after hours so the could enjoy the gas leak. Called them to learn that the tank is also cracked near the fill area. They didn't find this during the original fix? very luck not to have had a major fire and from research there are many people having the same issue with the gas tank being cracked when the fuel pump delivery recall is done. The tanks are cracked too. Should have been part of the recall.

The contact owns a 2007 pontiac g5.he states that when the vehicle was driven the contact noticed a gasoline smell coming from the outside and inside of the vehicle. The vehicle has not been diagnosed by the dealer.the contact noticed beforehand that there was a small leak coming from the fuel tank.the current and failure mileages was 39799. Bl

The contact own a 2007 pontiac g5.the contact stated while driving 25 mph she smelled fuel inside the vehicle. The contact did some research on the internet regarding the fuel system and notice a nhtsa campaign 09v419000 (fuel system, gasoline:delivery:fuel pump).the contact called the manufacturer regarding the recall and the manufacturer suggested the contact take the vehicle to a dealer.the dealer informed the contact they could not perform the recall repair because it was for specific states and maryland was not included.the dealer informed the contact that the fuel system had a small leak, the module was cracked and needed to be replaced.the contact did not have the fuel module replaced.the contact stated the recall should not be state specific since it was a safety issue.the failure mileage was 90,000.

On 10/3/09, had fuel leak on 2007 pontiac g5.fuel pump module assembly was removed and replaced.on 12/8/09, same vehicle had a larger fuel leak at which time the fuel tank needed to be replaced.

My car gradually began smelling like gasoline at the beginning of november. I thought it was the gas cap, replaced it, and it has not gone away and only become stronger smelling whether the car is in park or driving on the road. It also is hard to start after sitting for a few hours, it will not crank over on the 1st attempt anymore. I have researched on here, and found there was a recall and 1000s of others are having the same problem as me. However, because i am in ohio and not part of the "recall" states, my vin is not part of the recall and it is a major concern. I have called pontiac and the best advice they gave me is to send it to a certified gm dealer. After reading posts on here, it seems that they are charging the consumer 500+ for a new fuel pump and that is ridiculous since it is a recall on the other cars with the specific vins. What exactly will it take for gm or pontiac to step up and say hey we made a mistake on most of these models, not just the 69,000 we recalled?

The contact owns a 2007 pontiac g5. During routine maintenance at a local repair shop the technician stated the return port was cracked and there was a fuel leak. The contact stated there was a recall under nhtsa campaign id number: 09v419000 (fuel system, gasoline:delivery:fuel pump). The manufacturer was contacted and stated the vin was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 87,000.

There is a very strong gas odor in and around my car. I see that there is a fuel pump module recall for 2007 g5s but was told that my vehicle was not included.

Since purchasing this vehicle there has been a recurring occasional problem with the engine suddenly revving and the vehicle jumping forward whenin the stopped position(stopped but in "drive").when my foot is at the upper right edge of the brake pedal this occurs.my foot definitely has not been touching the gas pedal although the right side of the brake pedal is closest to the gas pedal.this has occurred multiple times in the last 6.5 years but not frequently enough for me to report it before now.i considered it an improvement to the 2006 honda civic i owned for a year which did something similar but more frequently and in a more pronounced way.the recent recall of my pontiac for an ignition switch problem has brought the issue of vehicle safety and manufacturer vigilance to the forefront of my mind.

Starting smelling gas. The gas smell was mild at first. Mostly only smelling it when the car was parked. Then the gas smell kept getting stronger. The smell of gas could be smelled as driving it. The gas could be seen eventually dripping out onto the ground. There was a recall on fuel pumps for this make and model and year, but not for my area. I believe all the makes and models should of been recalled.

The contact owns a 2007 pontiac g5. The contact stated that the key would remain stuck in the ignition switch and the air bag warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was pending repairs under nhtsa campaign numbers: 14v047000 (air bags, electrical system) and 14v171000 (electrical system). In addition, when refueling the vehicle, fuel leaked from the fuel tank. The contact mentioned that the vehicle was refueled at half a tank in order to prevent fuel leaking. The vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign numbers: 12v459000 (fuel system, gasoline) and 09v419000 (fuel system, gasoline). The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The approximate failure mileage was 103,000. Update 01/15/16 maupdated 02/04/16.

Filled up the fuel tank and when i arrived home noticed a strong smell of fuel. Looked under car and noticed fuel leak coming from fuel tank area. The car was taken to the local gm dealer and they advised the fuel tank has a 5 inch crank on the top area where the fuel neck hose connects. This vehicle has a prior recall for fuel tank parts that can crack and leak fuel leading to the possibility of a fire. The fuel tanks should have been included in the recall since they are made of plastic as well and are cracking. I spoke to the serviceman at the dealership and he advised he has seen three cars with the same condition in the shop. Is the national highway safety traffic administration receiving the same complaint that i am writing about and are you doing anything to address this issue with gm? this car is driven by my daughter to attend college and it could have caught on fire....

For the past month or so, i could smell gasoline whenever i stopped and exited my car.finally after someone else smelled it too, i saw a leak just to the right of my driver's side door (just in front of the rear tire). It was leaking quite quickly and had formed a puddle in less than a minute.if someone had walked by me and tossed a lit cigarette, or if i were sitting at a red light and the same thing happen...i hate to think what could've/would've happened.gm has refused to recall the car even though i've managed to find several situations exactly and/or similar to mine on sites such as g5club.net and carcomplaints.com - gm did pay for a diagnostic on the car and found it to be a rusted out fuel line.on the g5club.net site, i saw where a 2009 had the same problem a year or 2 ago.

Started to notice a little gas smell about middle of jan of 2012 didn't think much of it at the time and continued to drive it and then smell got stronger as i continued to drive it and even others started to notice it and would let me know that did i know they smelled gas, even had some one from the library page toinform me that someone who had parked next to me smelled gas and they want to let me know as other thought car may blow up or catch on fire (someone even left a note on my windshield about it and how i was hurting the environment) this is something government needs to look into since they and ihelp gm from going under buy going with a gm product and not get a family deal and a ford or chrysler.gm need to step up on this as they say it's a warm weather state issue, well i guess in the mid west it never get warm and there are other complaints on this issue.it's up to gm to fix this and keep customer loyalties or have us move on to a chrysler or ford and never look back.

Cracked fuel pump 2nd time. Fuel pump was replaced under gm warranty recall 090226 and nhtsa campaign 09v419000. The replacement pump also cracked 5 months after install. Leading to potential fire.

A few months ago i started to smell fuel after i parked my car and noticed a leak in the lines. The lines were indeed rusted out and i had them replaced. Now a few days ago i noticed it again but this time it was coming from the fuel tank. I saw that there was a recall for this problem, however i am not in one of the states that it was issued in. This is a big problem and i have seen a lot of people online complaining about this issue and the recall should be nationwide as it is a rather large safety concern.

I attempted to get a tx vehicle inspection and was advised there was a gas leak.i took the vehicle to firestone and they stated it was the fuel pump which they replaced and charged me $600 for parts and labor.i googled the issue afterwards and found there had been a recall for this problem, but when i contacted gm, they stated my vin was not included in the recall.i just think it's strange that i am seeing others with this same issue being told the same thing about vin specific.is it not possible some vins were left out?

The vehicle started smelling like gas, but i didn't notice any puddles or leaking. I took the vehicle to a mechanic who confirmed there was a leak near the fuel pump, and had to replace the part right away due to the potential fire hazard. After doing some research, it appears this vehicle did have a recall in a few states nearby for a faulty return port on the fuel pump, which could cause a fuel leak. Based on this information, and the potential for fire and/or injury, i feel additional investigations are warranted into vehicles located in other states.

Fuel tank inlet nipple cracking around tank causing fuel leak when tank is filled and full. Noticed puddle of fuel and fuel odor inside and outside car. Pulled tank down and discovered that there was several cracks around inlet where tank is leaking fuel. This is of concern due to fire risk.

On october 2, 2015 when i picked up my vehicle, i asked shawn thomas if they had reprogramed my door to work with the new ignition cylinder that was replaced last time it was in for that recall.when i picked up my car from that recall service, they gave me my original pontiac key and 2 new keys to the ignition.when i dripped it off for the most recent recall (fuel pump leak, fuel tank leak), i was told they should have reprogramed my doors to go with the new ignition and they would do that while it was in this time.it was on my receipt that they did reprogram but they did not.they made me another key for the ignition (not sure why i would need another ignition key.so now i have 3 ignition keys and 2 door keys (5 total keys) and 2 key fobs with remote start that was a feature that i had purchased originally when purchasing my car that no longer work since the ignition cylinder had to be replaced.when i asked shawn if it was reprogramed he told me yes that is what the receipt said.when i got to my car, it clearly had not been reprogramed and when i went in to ask shawn about it, he went and called the 'manager' who said that they talked to me and told me that there would be a charge if they reprogramed it.i never had this conversation and the recall clearly states that they will reprogram my doors to go with my ignition and the fobs should be programed for remote start as well as that is a feature i had.shawn told me it would be 2 hours labor because they have to take door panel apart and it was $165/hr.that would be $357.23 with tax for something there should not be a charge for under recall.please see recall information attached.

I noticed a strong gas smell while the vehicle was off and while driving. I took it to a repair shop and they said i have a gas leak. I see that there was a recall for gas leaks in warm weather states for a gas leak issue. I live in colorado and was never notified of the issue. I think it may be related to the recall.

Ithas a fuel leak, it's been fixed once, but it is leaking again.

The vehicle has a strong smell of gas but it doesn't have a recall for the gas tank that previous models have had. The auto mechanic stated that it was a problem from the dealership and that it may have been recalled for possible gas leak around the tank.

The contact also smelled a fuel odor while parking the vehicle. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The manufacturer was notified and stated that the vehicle was not included in any recalls. The failure and current mileages were 90,000.

Seems to me searching online its a common thing to have the gas tank crack.there are a bunch of recalls already for the car one including the fuel system but they will only replace the gas pump which had to be replaced because it was defective but wanted to charge over 1,000 for the cracked fuel tank which by the way how does that happen on a pretty recent car and i am not alone.the smell its pretty strong and i am sure its not safe been looking for one through junkers because i cant afford the 1000 for something that came defective.

My pontiac g5 2007 took several times to turn over and start. We've noticed a strong gas smell and upon looking under the car we are having a gas leak. The gas isn't dripping down however more like a condensation all over the outside of the gas tank. I noticed they have had a recall on this before (nhtsa campaign id number: 09v419000) and (gm recall no. 090226), however gm is not considering this as a recall. This is not acceptable because it states if this issue isn't correct it could cause a fire! i for one do not feel safe driving this car let alone my wife (especially being her car). The issue stated in the recall is (fuel system, gasoline:delivery:fuel pump) so i'm not understanding why i haven't been notified for this issue especially when the recall deals with my car.

The parking brake on my 07 pontiac g5 gt has already been repaired under warranty for a plastic piece of the ratchet mechanism in the handle breaking.in order for the parking brake to be reasonably effective on a hill, it must be very firmly applied.with the knowledge of the ratchet already giving out once, i'm wary of leaving my car parked without the transmission in gear to aid the parking brake to avoid a roll-away.the brake continues to be insecure when under nominal tension.

The contact owns a 2007 pontiac g5.when the contact shifts gears, she hears a noise that indicates the transmission is slipping.in addition, the parking brake does not engage successfully, which could allow the vehicle to roll away.she took her vehicle to the dealer, but they could not duplicate the failures or provide a remedy.the failure mileage was unknown and the current mileage was 5,600. When pulling up the parking brake lever to sufficiently hold the car on a grade, the pawl (plastic part) failed, and the lever wasn't held mechanically in the 'on' position.typically, the parking brake on disc-equipped rear axles of chevrolet cobalt/ pontiac g5 must be very tight to effect any significant hold on a grade.this is the experience of me, and other g5/cobalt drivers -- with increasing frequency.it was repaired for me under warranty, but i don't know if it was either replaced with a similar part, or a redesigned one.

The contact owns a 2007 pontiac g5.the contact stated that while driving in reverse the gears shifted from reverse to drive on it's own causing the vehicle to accelerate and crash into a building.no one was injured during the crash. The vehicle was towed to a body shop. A complaint was filed with the manufacturer regarding the gear shift in 2009 and did not receive a response or any assistance. The contact replaced the gear shift lever and the failure recurred which caused the crash to occur. The failure mileage was 60,910.

2007 g5 auto. Trans was having problems shifting between gears. Rpms jumped around and the engine/ trans "rev". It was seen by a dealer, some electronic problem with the trans. Was fixed. It's been 6 months and i'm seeing the problem again. (this car only has 50,000miles on it now.) i see that others are having this problem, it needs attention.

Less than 100 miles after my bumper-to-bumper coverage ran out, the button on shifter became stuck in.my key cannot be removed because it won't turn back to the right position.

The contact owns a 2007 pontiac g5. The contact stated that a passenger sat in the vehicle and the air bag light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection and they stated that the seat belt retractor assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. Having problems with my brake systems, turn signals not shutting off, front suspension.

Following a 2007 or 2008 pontiac g5 as driven by a friend. Noticed occasionally (though not always) the center brake light would illuminate and the main brake lights would lag behind considerably (probably somewhere between 2 tenths and half a second).

The brakes on this car have had to be fixed or replaced every 4-6 months. The entire car shakes when breaking from speeds greater than 40mph. I have replaced the rotors and pads repeatedly to no avail. The tires have been aligned androtated regularly yet the problem still persist. The brakes on the 2007 pontiac g5 are faulty! please help!!

While brake applied on my g5 the steering shakes. Told rotors needed "turning". When mechanic went into the brakes he found no brake pads and rotors warped and calipers had a rip in the rubber boot leaking fluid! then he tells me i'm lucky i didn't lose brakes and crash!! i have 3 kids and i'm an firefighter/emt who needs to get to where she's going when someone life is on the line!! would appreciate it not being my own!! now i know why pontiac is out of business!!

My g5 had only 8,311 miles and when stepping on brakes, the steering wheel shakes. The bunnin dealer had to "machine" my rotors. 8,000 miles later, it started shaking again and pulling to side. Bunnin placed a "shim kit" on car. I have 4-5 different rcpts that i've taken car in ..didn't do any good.. But now they want me to pay $800 to "replace my rotors and brake pads"car now has 27,000 miles.. And brakes barely work.. Almost hit someone other day..

The contact owns a 2007 pontiac g5.while driving 40-45 mph, the vehicle lost steering power and there was a knocking sound when turning the wheel.the contact also heard a loud clunking noise coming from the steering wheel occasionally.the brakes also failed and she crashed into a police vehicle.the dealer stated that the steering shaft needed to be replaced, as well as the rotors.after the dealer stated that they had made the repairs, the contact was informed a few days later that the parts for the repair were finally available; however, the repair was supposedly performed already.the failure mileage was 91 and current mileage was 7,188.

The contact owns a 2007 pontiac g5. While driving at low speeds, the steering wheel became inoperable without warning. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 124,802.

Power steering motor module failure.

I own a 2007 pontiac g5.in december 2009 my power steering went out.this car has 60,000 miles on it.there is no reason that my power steering should be going out.now, it goes out every time i drive the car for more than 10 minutes.to correct the problem i have to pull over, turn off the car, and turn it back on again.i do this about three or four times a day.i read where ge sued their power steering supplier, so when are then going to fix our cars!this is very dangerous.

The contact owns a 2007 pontiac g5. While driving at speeds of 55 mph, the power steering would intermittently fail. The vehicle would become increasingly difficult to control. The manufacturer stated that there were no recalls and would provide no assistance. There were no repairs made to the vehicle. The failure mileage was 72,000 and the current mileage was 74,000.

Electric power steering (pontiac g5 2007) stops working while driving car. It will occur a random intervals and the only thing you can do is to pull over and turn off the car and then restart the engine. Of course this is extremely hard and dangerous to do since you have hardly any control of the car. I am in the process of seeking repairs.

When in idled park i turn my steering wheel and it's hard. I just leased this car beginning 12/07/18. But while driving it's fine until i make a time and it and it struggle to return to center.

The power steering failure light comes on as well as all the other warning lights and gauges quit working while driving which makes it a safety concern. We have received a notice from gm that this vehicle might have a recall because of the steering failure but have been told by our pontiac dealer and gm that it does not. The vehicle has been to the dealer 3 times in the last month for this issue. First time, the dealer said they didn't find anything. Within a half hour of leaving the dealership, the car was brought back to the dealer for the same issue. The dealer replaced the ecm and after a few weeks the issue has returned and has been a the dealer for a week but they are unable to find problems and seem to have given up. Have talked to gm customer service during this whole time.

We have a 2007 pontiac g5 uradwith 32000 miles on it, we bought it new. In feb 2010 my son was driving to school and as he went around a sharp bend in the road, he stated he felt the power steering went out and lost control of the car sliding into guard rails. This has happened a few times since, then we get a recall from pontiac about the same problem . I told them about it , theyhad a independent inspector look at it and a girl named brandy called and said it was her decision not to do anything about it. I asked what her qualificationswere and she said it didn't matter what her education was.

The contact owns a 2007 pontiac g5. Whenever the contact drove the vehicle more than 1 mile she noticed that the power steering failed and suddenly stopped operating without any warning.

Have no power steering at times when i start the car. I have to cut it off and restart it. Only had this car for 2 months now after purchasing from a car lot, which i still pay on at this time

Power steering light turned on dash and power steering went out. Son was driving in a parking lot so speed was low and he was able to pull into a parking spot. If this had been at a higher speed, who knows what would have happened. The car has just over 36,000 miles on it. Son is suppose to get an appt to see what can be done. Happened again last week. It seems there have been quite a few complaints about this problem but i have not heard about a recall or investigation. Seems very coincidental that the ford cobalt, which is basically the same car as the g5, is being investigated for the same issues.

Pontiac g5 2007 vin [xxx]after steering wheel recall repair in september 2010 at bill stasek, wheeling, il i started to have knocking noise from the steering wheel at low speeds on rough . After that i went to ocean cadillac, bal harbor, fl to check the problem-the answer was that "probably" the strut needs to be replaced for about $600-$800. I said no. I contacted pontiac.com customer service. They explained that i need to go to another dealership-lehman buick gmc, miami, fl to check with them. The service manager responded that this is a "normal knocking noise"from the steering wheel forpontiac g5 at all!!! the problem is that noise started after the recall service in september 2010. So typical or normal this is about my safety. The car is about 34000 miles. I request to repair my pontiac g5 2007. Gm refuse to service the vehicle. The car has developed a rattling noise when the brakes are applied.during braking there is a vibration in the steering wheel.the power steering periodically is sporadic, especially at low speed.it feels like manual steering and is difficult to turn.the rack and pinion has developed a great deal of slack allowing the car to wander on the highway, making driving at higher speeds very harrowing.it is my opinion that the combination of a malfunctioning electric steering motor and the slack in the rack and pinion is the combined problem with this vehicle.it is a danger to drive in it's present condition. On november 11th while driving on a major highway, the car veered suddenly and crossed over the center line.it was windy and during the drive, i noticed the wandering of the vehicle increased.when i got home, i blocked up the front end and thoroughly investigated the wheels, brakes, rotors, tie rod ends, and the steering.i found that the rack and pinion was getting increasingly sloppy.i have purchased the parts and plan to install them myself, but i have little faith that this inferior steering system will be a long term fix.a class action lawsuit against gm for a system that puts the general public in grave danger is imminent.not only are the operators and passengers of these vehicles at risk, but so are the lives of those on the highway that might meet one of these vehicles head on in a collision.gm better come up with a repeat recall to fix these issues the right way, or buy them all off the road.i know this affects other models as well. Cobalts, g6s, etc.what a cluster that a company like gm could make such an epic blunder and now try to sweep it out with a simplistic one-time recall that puts the same inferior quality of parts back in this machinery. I'll bet the executives at gm have been sweating this deal, and rightly so.

The contact owns a 2007 pontiac g5. When starting the vehicle, the steering wheel became very difficult to turn. After turning the vehicle off and restarting the engine, the steering wheel operated normally. The contact also indicated that fuel was leaking under the vehicle. It was discovered that the tube connected to the fuel tank was cracked. The failures were not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer and local dealer were not notified. The failure mileage was 40,000.

The contact owns a 2007 pontiac g5. The contact stated that while driving approximately 25 mph, the power steering assist failed without warning. The vehicle would become increasingly difficult to control. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the power steering needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 23,400.

Having problems with my brake systems, turn signals not shutting off, front suspension.

The contact owns a 2007 pontiac g5. The contact stated that after the vehicle was repaired under nhtsa campaign number: 14v171000 (electrical system), the steering column began shaking violently and hard to turn. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where the technician diagnosed that the inner steering shaft needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The current and failure mileage was 45,000.

Thanks

The contact owns a 2007 pontiac g5. While driving at approximately 30-35 mph, the power steering stopped functioning. The contact pulled over and shut the vehicle off. When he restarted it, the power steering still did not function. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealership where the steering column relay was replaced. While driving from the dealership, the failure occurred again. The dealer then stated that the power steering assist motor needed to be replaced but parts were unavailable. The vin was unavailable at the time of the complaint. The current and failure mileages were approximately 40,000.

Power steering problem in pontiac g5 - drives normal down the highway, then all of a sudden the car starts shaking violently (steering wheel starts shaking back and forth).

Electric power steering just cut off while driving and never came back on.

Steering is tight and there is no place to top up the power steering fluid. I bought the car used and i did not receive any recall for this problem only for the ignition. I live in canada so the address is not michigan but all other info is correct--it just wouldn't let me go pass.

The contact owns a 2007 pontiac g5. While driving at speeds of 45 mph, she noticed that the power steering warning light illuminated on the control panel. The dealer stated that the power steering motor caused the failure to occur. There were no repairs made to the vehicle to date. The failure and current mileages were 42,000.

The power steering has gone out 3 times in the last 3 years. I took my car into an auto repair shop each time as it stopped working and wouldn't come back on. Each time they replaced my rack and pinion. The replacements were on 10-02-2019ā€¦.....10-06-2020......and july 22, 2021. I shouldn't have to replace the rack and pinion 3 times in less than 3 years.

This problem is a safety hazard, i am tired as ?!@#$% going through this recurring problem every few weeks. I have to put my car in the shop or gone to the car dealership where i purchase my car in the last two months at least 8-10 times. Although, the car getstemporary fix, this concern is a pain and really aggravated. Also, considering the dealerships uses poor quality materials or shall i say cheap parts i am right back at square one. The power steering lights comes on and the power steering goes out repeatedly and the services tech's and services managers tells you to put your life at risk by driving the vehicle to them so they can see that the powering steering is out and then make the decision that the powering steering column has gone out. Although this is what i am telling them over and over again. I guess i should be happy that the concern is being fixed right? well hell no because, i am paying for extended services to cover concerns like this. I have to put my life in jeopardy by driving a vehicle without power steering barely able to turn the wheel and that sucks!!!!!!!!!!! i am mad as?!@#$% and i want someone to understand where i am coming from. I don't even want the car no more but i am stuck! pontiac g5's are a nice little car for a one person but if i could get out of this car i would!

Power steering failure.

Turn signal switch does not cancel; you have to manually cancel turn signal after turn completed. I've noticed more and more people complaining about this in chevrolet and pontiac!

Long distance trip with power steering not working at various times (g5, 2007). Was going to have dealer evaluate until seeing just this morning 03/02/2010 that a recall for power steering was being issued. Anyword with regard to power steering recall. I'm concerned that if my daughter was drivingthe car and the power steering would stop functioning. She may be in a scenario that could make this a very dangerous situation if the wheel has become very difficult. Power steering is displayed on dash.

My 2007 pontiac lost power steering and i couldn't turn the wheel and hit a bank. Gm had a independent person look at it. Then a gm rep looked at the report and said it wasn't their fault. I ask what kind of education she had and she said that didn't matter. They looked at the car for 4 hours and no mileage.

While driving the vehicle, it became hard to steer and the digital read out on the panel advised there was a power steering failure.when i turned the vehicle off and back on, the power steering worked fine.i took it to the dealership and was informed that the power steering motor had to be replaced.vehicle was bought new, less than three years old and had only approximately 38,700 miles.*tw

After 2 repairs on a recall for the steering wheel power i have the same problem. Gm is not fixing the issue but jut patching it-so the same problem is occurring over and over again. I called multiple times and gm advise me that they fixed the recall already twice and not going to fix it again. Please see link to youtube of what actually happen:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z7glen5vik4.

While driving, there's a chime and all my gauges drop to zero. I get a "power steering" and "low fuel" alerts on my dashboard (and i'm pretty sure the power steering goes out). See video at: http://goo.gl/naw5ns.

I own a 2007 pontiac g5, the power steering goes in and out on the vehicle.i've nearly had 3 accidents while driving.this vehicle is my only for of transportation. Once i heard about the recall, i called my local dealership and was told i could not have the repairs performed until i received a letter from gm.all i hear is that they are working on this issue.this is a life threatening problem. It is extremely difficult to regain control of my vehicle when the power steering goes out when i am driving slow.

110,000 miles, wheel starting to get hard to turn at slow speeds. If making a turn, the turns needs more effort to complete the turn. When stationary the wheel was very hard to turn.

Loss of power steer at 22,000 miles and less than 1 month beyond 36 months... Out of warranty.told electric motor or steering column need replacement...over $1200 to repair.

The contact owns a 2007 pontiac g5. The contact stated that on december 13, 2009, while her son was driving in torrential rainy weather conditions around a slight curve, the vehicle drove off of the road and crashed into a tree. The driver died as a result of the crash. There were no indications of speeding or any skid marks. The police could not determine the cause of the crash. The contact received recall notice 10v073000 (steering:electric power assist system) which she presumed to be the cause of the crash. She called the dealership who stated that they had no knowledge of the related failure. She called the manufacturer and was awaiting a call back. The current and failure mileages were approximately 25,000.

Door latch is caught, and door will not open. Neither handle (inside or outside) will open door. Car was in parking lot at work and had not been opened in approximately 5 hours. It has been raining for about a week straight.

Having problems with my brake systems, turn signals not shutting off, front suspension.

I am complaining about the control arm bushings popping out.we purchased two brand new vehicles, both g5s on the same day.both vehicles have control arm bushing problems!the one vehicle was still under warranty and the control bushings were replaced by the dealership.this vehicle was out of warranty at that time and the dealership would only replace them at our cost.i'm sure after reading online complaints that these vehicles have major issues with control arm bushings.i would probably understand if it were one vehicle, but to happen to both brand new vehicles?there is a problem!

Left side a arm bushing replaced under warranty, after warranty went out at 36,000 mile/ 3 years right side is now bad. This making the car seem/sound as if a strut or shock is broken. I was told by dealer this is a common problem on the chevy cobalts and pontiac g5. How dangerous this situation is remains to be seen. Seems to me gm should have to replace these at their expense not mine, with a better quality bushing. A study to see how unsafe this makes the said cars, is in order.

I recently took my 2007 g5 into a dealership for an oil change and mentioned that i had been hearing a very annoying sound going over any irregularity in the pavement, also sounded like the suspension was broken! they said the control arm and bushings were worn'.i searched and found numerous similar complaints with the g5 (and cobalt) and my car has just 35k and never been driven in rough conditions, mainly highway driving. I checked and was told it is not a safety issue , only an annoyance, but will be trying to verify it.this condition has been occurring for a few thousand miles and i wouldn't expect this type of failure at this low mileage.... Sounds like this has been happening to other owners too.... But fortunately for a few, it was covered under warranty, mine isn't.(i found the other complaints at carcomplaints.com and wonder if this is a broader failure.
