While driving at 40 mph vehicle was involved in a head on collison and air bags did not deploy.
While driving 30mph another vehicle ran through a stop light and collided with the consumer'svehicle.there was no time to depress the brakes.on impact neither of the frontal air bags deployed.
In the middle of turning on a busy road i suddenly lost all power to my car. It seemed as if my car was shut off but the ignition was still in the on position. I almost hit/side swiped 3 different cars. This has been a recurring issue since about feb. 2014. I have gone to different shops and no one can seem to tell me what is wrong. First it was an o2 sensor, then possibly a bad seal on my gas cap, no check engine light comes on. I've gone through fixing everything they say and now everyone seems to be at a loss. I've had this issue both while driving and while slowing down to turn.
Since october 31st. My car has shut off about 15 while driving, i lose power of my steering and cannot move my car. I saw today that there is a gm ignition recall but my car is not involved when i call gm.
2003 pontiac aztek has a water leak. Ses light illuminates, fuel gage fluctates and carries an odor from water damage.c305 connector needed to be replaced because of corrosion caused from water. Dealership returned my car on june 20, 2005 stating everything was fixed and on july 18, 2005 car is back at dealership because floor is completely soaking wet again.as of today, july 19, 2005 the dealership has not contacted me regarding my vehicle, nor returned my phone calls. Cause of water leak must still be unknown.
Not exactly sure of the date of these incidents, but i can smell fumes coming through the vents when i am driving, had to get this checked a few weeks ago. The mechanic said the gas was leaking replaced this part. I am still smelling something in the engine area. I am not sure what and why. The vehicle also feels like it is shaking when i apply the brakes, and the brakes are fine. It usually does it when i am braking and also when i go past 40mph. It has gotten really bad that i am thinking about getting rid of vehicle and not having a vehicle. Also, i can hear a cranking noise in the steering column when i am turning that makes me think the vehicle is breaking in half. I have had to replace the gas cap last year as well for fumes.
While the vehicle is running - vehicle is in park - vehicle will not come out of park and go into gear.you have to turn it off and restart the vehicle to get it to come out of park.
Electrical mechanics in the car, i have been stuck in the middle of city traffic and cannot get the car to move. It stalls out in traffic.
I have been having issues with my azrek shutting off on me in the middle of driving and now it wint even start. I have replaced the fuel pump and vapor sensor due to it not getting any fuel pressure. I have researched and there are 2 different recalls for my vehicle which have not been done due to my vin not being acnowleged with the recall
The ati-lock (abs) light comes on intermittently.first started 6/4/07 took car to deal.dealer state the sensors is corroded and will not be covered under you extend warranty.they clean the sensors and charge me $200 dollars. According to the work order i was not charge any parts. So just 200 for labor to clean a sensorpick up the car that night the dashboard ati-lock (abs) light came on and stay on.return car back to deal they had the car for almost 2 week and replace the wheel bearing assembly. They state this should fix the dashboard ati-lock (abs) light .pick up the car that night went to stop the car and the ati-lock (abs) light came back on. Return car back to the dealer had car for 5 days said one of two things the emc or ecc some ati-lock (abs) computer or the wires running from the sensor to the computer is shorted out. They jumped the sensors by passing the engine wire harness so there is a direct path form the abs sensor to the abs computer. The deal state that is was fixed. Currently have the car and test driving it now 6/27/07
I was driving at about 30mph when my vehicle just shut down w/o warning/symptoms. My lights still worked but the vehicle totally shut down and locked up otherwise and i coasted to a stop mid roadway. Key was stuck in ignition and in the on position and wouldn't let me turn key to any other position and key wouldn't come out so i sat until battery died which shut the vehicle off.when vehicle initially lost power and came to a stop i tried to put vehicle into park and attempt a restart which is when i realized the key and ignition wouldn't move and then vehicle wouldn't move out of park either.also at the moment my car shut down,i glanced down at dash and saw system warning message flash stating abs error but was unsure if this was the only message it had flashed or if this was just the last one that i caught and they had possibly all flashed as part of the malfunction but had never heard of anything brake related cause an entire vehicle system to shut down totally and be dead as a result with total lockup of all controls.i had to have vehicle towed home and have had nothing but confusion from all of the tow truck drivers, mechanic friends, etc.as to what or why this would happen. They all suggested that it seemed to be my computer or electrical possibly because the car was totally dead and did not make any noise or click or anything but silence when attempting to power back and restart. I had my two kids with me and one was a baby in a torrential downpour of a rainstorm and this was my vehicle stranded mid corner in a blind spot with no way of moving car from danger of middle of road or even being able to remove my key so as to abandon the vehicle out of safety concern.this is not the only case of this happening to this vehicle from what i am reading on consumer reported incidents and complaints/investigations. This needs to be a recall and it is all electrical error related.
I'm having problems with my brakes and head lights and also my battery. I think it's a electricity problem. Every since i had this truck i have had to change my brakes about 10 times and my head lights about five times and battery twice. There's a grawl and roar sound coming from the brakes. The brakes went out on me one time cause me to run out in front of cars. This could have kill me an d my child. I ask for another car instead of this.
2003 pontiac aztek has been building from abs and brake lights and chimes to fuel gage losses all intermittent.vehicle locks up and won't start or has started starting on its own in the garage.it is reminding me of being a kid in the 60s and playing pinball with all the lights and "specials" lighting up!reading from online stuff i am in a group of many owners having problems that are the same.one common theme is the body control module! is gm hiding their heads in the sand over this problem. I am going to be replacing my module as i don't want my car gasing us to death at night in my garage.lucky my door to the garage was open today!i am totally disappointed that gm has not and the government has not made them set up and take care of these problems. No fire yet no damage yet no crash yet!and they are lucky if this hasn't hurt someone yet.
Dash losing different component operation.started with fuel gauge and temperature gauge then affected radio lights and lcd display.now vehicle speedometer has become erratic and untrustworthy.radio lights and display an inconvenience but the combination of fuel and now the speedometer not reading properly is causing a concern for safety.at the rate this is going the whole dash will be malfunctioning soon.according to what i see the parts alone can be $300 - $500 plus the repair charges.internet has countless entries about the electrical problems on the pontiac azteks but no service bulletins on the nhtsa web site and no mentioning of any recalls by pontiac.why isn't the nhtsa looking into this with so many problems being shared on the internet?why are the owners being required to pay for these repairs since it's such a widespread aztek issue?
A few years ago, the radio lights stopped working & a cd was stuck in the player. Several times, the headlights have gone out. We replace thembut they go out again. A few months ago, none of the inside power ports worked. I replaced the fuse. I plugged in an mp3 player charger. After doing this, when leaving the car, the lights would not go out unless you pulled the fuse. When you would shut the doors, without the key being in it, the door locks would lock by themselves. As a consequence of power still running to the lights that would not go out, it drained the battery and the brake lights stopped working.after a week of having to pull the fuse to get the lights to go out, the fuse to the power ports blew again and then the lights started working correctly.now the blinker lights are not working. I took this car to a mechanic only for him to tell me he thought the light switch needed to be replaced. I did not pay to do this after looking at hundreds of online complaints about electrical problems in the pontiac aztek and individuals spending a lot of money for repairs, only to find that it does not fix the electrical problems we are experiencing.this is a safety hazard when electrical problems are causing brake lights, headlights, and blinkers to fail. As huge of a problem that this is, pontiac should be responsible for repairing this with a recall.
My aztek started to sputtering one morning, bringing my car to a stop. The car stalled and i would have to restart.it seemed like i couldn't go over 40 mph. It's just kept hiccuping.i took it to a mechanic and got a new fuel and air filter.still having problems, i replaced the idle air control valve. That didn't fix the problem. My car continued to get worse and couldn't even get anywhere.took it to have the catalytic converter replaced, and it ran ok for about two weeks then it began to do it again. Took it back to the shop, and diagnostics read that it needed a new o2 sensor. So i replaced that and it seems like it has only gotten worse. The shop that replaced the converter and o2 sensor spent 6 hours or labor trying to find the root of the problem and they couldn't figure it out; and refused to replace anything else because they were uncomfortable with charging me more money and the car not getting fixed.this morning (about a little over a month this all started)i tried to make it into town where i could take it to another shop, and my car completely gave up. The key wouldn't even turn over. So that has racked me up a nice towing bill. Over 1000 doll as s in the last month, and my car is completely dead. Seems like my problem is the same as everyone else's on the internet with an aztek.
Aztek has stalled out without warning while driving.stalls have taken place during low speeds (usually 10-15 mph) and always while turning.has resulted in stalling in the middle of a busy intersection as well as other unsafe situations.when stalls the battery light comes on and steering freezes and must restart car.starts back up with no problem and no problem lights indicated on dashboard.service department unable to replicate problem and find no codes set for incidents in vehicles computer.stalling has now occurred four times, always unpredictably and inconsistently but always on full tank of gas.vehicle has 30, 000 miles and is in very good condition otherwise.
The contact owned a 2003 pontiac aztek. After the contact turned the engine off, black smoke and flames appeared under the hood of the vehicle. The fire department extinguished the flames. A fire report was not filed. The vehicle was destroyed and towed. The cause of the failure was not determined. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vin and failure mileage were unavailable.
My vehicle should have fallen under the lemon law due to several problems, resulting in 21 visits to the dealer in less than 3 months. Besides all of these problems, i later had to take it back because when i made a short left to right turn the vehicle would die leaving me to try to steer it to safety. It was supposed to be fixed, but recently it started doing it again. This is a dangerous problem, and is threatening the lives of everyone.i am a single mom, and this is my only transportation. The vehicle now has 81,000 miles on it, and is out of warranty. This is obviously an ongoing problem, and i can't afford to have theserepairs done.i would like to turn in all of my vehicle information and problems that it has had to someone. Tl- the contact owns a 2003 pontiac aztek. The contact stated after having the vehicle washed and dried the vehicle failed to start. The vehicle was towed to a dealer for diagnosis and the contact was informed that a wire had gotten wet and melted several fuses. The vehicle was repaired. The failure and current mileage was 99,600. The electrical has done nothing but messed up first the radio light went out and now thedash light is out so there is no visibility at night to see your speed, the anti lock light stays on untilthe anti lock light comes on, also the all wheel drive keeps disabling, i have replace 3 of the 4 hubs that were eaten through and now its looking like another one is going. The brake light keeps coming on and dinging, i have to turn the car off and back on to get it to stop, i am eating through the brake pads because of the anti lock brakes don't turn off right away, also have problems where the car when you start it up does not start it just goes right to battery light but yet nothing wrong just glitching. I have read alot of forums on the aztek and this has been happening to alot of azteks and i have talked to people that i know that own azteks and they have alot of the same electrical problems.

When drivingat any speed check engine light appeared on the dashboard. Consumer took the vehicle to the dealer to be inspected.however, the mechanic was unable to duplicate the problem. The vehicle also rolled forward while on a slight incline. The ignition switch attempted to start the vehicle although it was already started.the rear hatch could not be opened by the button on the inside of the vehicle.the brakes failed while attempting to come to a stop.when the vehicle was on and in park the gear selector could not be moved into drive unless the vehicle was shut off then turned back on.the consumer heard a whining noise coming from the steering wheel.an odor was coming from the vents when the a/c was on.
The 2003 pontiac aztec has intermittent issues regarding the rear directional signalsand now inoperable brake light(s).there are no indications of a directional signal failure except for when it is dark outside or someone behind me identifies the issue. The specific issue is that when the directional signal is used, both the rear directionals flash. There was a recall regarding this issue; however, the part identified has already been replaced, as well as every other component.after the 4th time the vehicle was in for the same issue, i was following behind the driver of the aztec. Immediately i discovered that after the repair, the back left brake light was no longer functioning. The bulb was replaced with no improvement.the vehicle is currently at the dealership at this time.
On 2/8/2004 consumer started the vehicle and turned the windshield wipers on.the windshield wipers stopped operating and began to smoke.the vehicle caught on fire due to a malfunction in the windshield wiper motor which was replaced by the dealer.two weeksafter beingrepaired the windshield wipers failed twice during inclement weather, causing poor visibility to the driver while on the highway.the vehicle had an electrical fire.the windshield wipers wires were burnt up making a hole in the windshield fluid container.the consumer requested reimbursement for missing work, stress, and car payment. *sc
2003 pontiac aztek.....events leading to failure- flickering lights, unusual odor.smoke in the interior of the automobile coming from under driver's seat.within minutes, flames came through the middle of the driver's seatandautomobile became engulfed in flames, vehicle was destroyed. It was unsalvable.
2003 pontiac aztec, caught on fire and the vehicle had been sitting 14 hours i only had the aztec for just about 2 weeks, the fire starting under the hood in an electrical box the suv was a total, mean while i lost my down payment of 1,000 and is still left with out transportation the insurance company paid off the loan which left me a balance owed now, responsible for the deductible and again the loss of my down payment and no car this has been an nightmare for me it has been 3 months and i still feel i should have been awarded an down payment the fire was the manufacturing fault and the insurance went only after the book value and me as a customer well nothing but misery and pain.janice.
Dt: the hazard, turn, and brake lights quitthis happened all at once. The consumer took the vehicleto a dealer and they performed a diagnostic test, the switch which showed to be defective.the aforementionedwere replaced, a new switch was installed and new flashers.

In april 2011 on bumpy roads a grinding noise would come on and it took longer to stop the car. I called the dealer and was told it was probably the abs system and could be a number of things, the computer module may be bad, the sensors on each wheel could be bad. I took the car in for service in may, had toreplace the wheel bearings on one wheel and was told it was fixed $540. Then in june the car started doing the same thing, took it in again, was told another wheel needed new bearings $740 with a warranty. In august car started the vibrating and grinding again, you can hear a vibration like a motor or something comes on and then when you try to stop you have to push really really hard. At that point i went on line to check it out, seems lots of people who own either a 2003 pontiac aztek or a 2003 buick rendevous are having these same issues.the dealers are taking advantage of a defect in the car. All the blogs that i saw online are having the same problem. Many people have repacked the bearings on all wheels, replace sensors and the harness to the computer module and nothing seems to work and the dealers don't seem to know how to fix it once and for all.my car has always been worked on by the dealer. So far my dealer hasn't mentioned the computer sensor but i'm sure after i've replaced all wheel bearings they will get to that. Bottom line is if all these people are having this same safety issue, your dept needs to look at it. This is a safety issue with the abs braking system and no one seems to know how to fix it. We are keeping our cars longer and they should last well over 100,000 miles with proper maintenance. So now i have a perfectly good car with a perfectly good engine, but no abs braking system and it can't seem to be fixed!
Key keeps getting stuck in ignition, steering column gets stuck.fuel tank is leaking and check engine light keeps coming on and staying along with service engine light. Fuel pump keeps going out replaced 3 times.
Consumer states that whenever he turns a corner and hits a bump the back of the vehicle seems to want to skid around to the front.the vehicle was taken to a dealer, who informed the consumer that the vehicle was handling normally.

Engine rpm surges to over 3000 without warning. This often happens when the car is initially placed in drive after starting the engine. The driver may need to suddenly apply the brake if behind a car. The high rpm also acts as an undesired "cruise control" system, though the vehicle is not equipped with "cruise". The driver must also firmly hold the brake pedal down while stopped as the car will lurch forward.
I was driving about 4 mins. I stopped at light and car cut off. Car never cut on after. I just purchased car on june 26 2013. I was told there aren't ant problems with the car and if i have any problems to bring it back i brought it back to find that they didn't value their word. They wouldn't accept car back and exchange for my purchase. Although i am unable to drive car til this day.

Service engine soon light kept coming on. Every time i had an oil change i did mention it. Was told it was a problem with the gas cap. Water leaked from evaporator. Found body of water in body pass through connector; carpet wet underneath. Evaporated drain hose was missing, hose replaced. Seats were removed, carpet dried and floor pan and sprayed carpet with odor eliminator. Dried water and cleaned corrosion from connector.
While stopped in traffic the consumer put the vehicle into park.when the consumer attempted to put the vehicle back into drive the shifter would not move.when the consumer turned the vehicle off the shifter could be moved again.this problem also occured while the consumer was waiting to back out of her driveway.
It started running on its own and the rpm's went up to 3000 in park gear. I took it back to colonial service department. They looked at it and decided that i needed to have my iac - idle air control motor replaced. The next day 4/28/11, i picked up my car and drove it home. It seemed as though everything was fixed and working fine. Until, i drove my car on 4/30/11. That is when my car's rpm went up to 3500 in park gear. I was able to drive my car from south boston, ma all the way to the car dealership in watertown, ma without stepping on the gas pedal at a speed of 40 mph. Now the dealership is saying i need to replace the tps - throttle position sensor. I am not sure this is going to fix my problem but i know that i needed to report this to nhtsa. Most likely you will be received another email from me shortly. This is something that needs to be address and resolved. I do not want to be in my car and have an accident because of this problem. I don't want it to seem like this problem was never reported to pontiac or nhtsa. This can save a lot of peoples lives. Please have someone research this problem and get back to me. Previous email sent to [email protected] on 4/24/11- dear sir or madam, i am presently having a problem with my 2003 pontiac aztek. Within the last four days, while driving my car it started coasting/driving on its own with me not having to press the gas pedal. Like on 4/24/11, i was driving at a speed of 40 mph on the road. I took my foot off the gas pedal and the car continued to drive by its self at that speed and i was not using the cruise control. Matter of fact i never use the cruise control. When i stopped the car and it in park the rpm needle went between 2000 -3000 rpms. Surge or reving my engine very loud. I believe this is very dangers and would like for you to tell me what needs to be done to fix this problem. I took it to the colonial gmc car dealership in watertown, ma on 4/18/11 and 4/23/11 because this problem is not showing up.
The engine started to run hot and after investigating the problem at home we discovered that the engine cooling fans were not working. We did not find any leaks or disconnected belts or hoses. We have not had a professional look at it yet but we are very certain that the fans are not coming on.
Aztek is 5 yrs old 70,000 miles.have had problems with stalling after the first few months (was bought brand new!) couldn't find any problem! 9/4/08 was driving late from a game and broke down in the middle of the highway.had diagnostic done - misfire in cylinder 6.took it to dealer - costing me $4000 to fix!needs 2 new heads!!!!
Ses light and all dash lights came on, took to salerno duane in newton nj whew i purchased my 2003 pontiac aztek new. Was told intake manifold leaking and the cause of lights, ses and dash lights. $1100 later, lights still going off and on. Now told instrument cluster problem. $250. For parts plus labor. I am very angry that i was told that it was the intake manifold gasket, that i paid all that money and now they say it is something else. I argued with the dealer that i will not pay for instrument cluster or labor and they agreed. I also feel that i should be reimbursed for the intake manifold gasket and labor since this was obviously not the problem in the first place and they took advantage of me. There is no proof that the intake manifold gasket was leaking, and even if it was, it should be on a recall from gm because it is a common problem for gm motors. When is anybody going to take responsibility for this.
Intake manifold gasket leaks.problem evidenced itself at roughly 58,000 miles.it appears to be a common defective condition.
I had the intake manifold replaced by gm 1 1/2 years ago.now my aztek has 82,000 and cylinder #4 has no compression - the rocker gasket had stopped working $800 later - two weeks later i have no compression in cylinder #6.my car is just 5 years old! gm needs to stand behind their product.

We purchased a new 2003 pontiac aztek in march of 2003.to date we have had the car in for repairs on the heater fan motor replaced twice, the drivers door hinges reset twice, the rear trunk release replaced twice, repainted the drivers door and rear drivers area near taillight because the paint was gone, several no-starts that were not repeated at the garage-but needed jump starts to run, rear drivers tail-light was replaced once because it was falling out and its starting to fall out again, front wheel bearings are being replaced tomorrow.we have a little over 18,000 miles on the car and hate it and will probably never buy another pontiac because of this lemon.all repairs have been done under warranty so far, but what happens when that runs out?sell it to the next sucker i guess.
Electric cooling fans malfuntioned. I purchased the vehicle 6/30/2003 and i have noticed the temp guage fluctuating. I took it to the dealership for repair and they found that the electric cooling fans were not working. There were only 600 miles on the vehicle.
I bought a used 2003pontiac aztec 6 months ago, and found out recently that there is a lot of known problems with the orange anti-freeze eating away at the tubes and gaskets of the engine. We are currently having to pay over $700 to fix this known problem. I think someone needs to investigate this issue and a recall needs to be done.
2003 pontiac aztek. Took in due to fluid leaking into oil and causing it to look like a "milky" substance. Told that these vehicles are known for this issue and that the problem was with the intake manifold gasket. Had that replaced (over $1,000) - then discovered still a leak - now they are saying it probably needs an engine. The vehicle is not even 10yrs old. I read another description similar to this. How many individuals have to be gouged before something can be done about this. If this is a known problem with these vehicles, seems like something needs to be done to stop the manufacturer from preying on their customers.
Vehicle would not start one day, the start the next. Then it wouldn't start at all.had heater problem before, but when they checked it , it was fine. Then when it wouldn't start at all, had it towed. The garage i had it towed to had been the one to check the heater a couple of weeks prior to it breaking down, they had given it an oil change also. After the tow, they informed me that anti-freeze had been getting into the intake oil(head gaskets),and they would have to take it all apart(labor!!!)---and that the fuel pump was bad. I've only had the vehicle for a little over a year!!!thank god i had a warranty extended,(even though i am paying a lot for that also!!)that i only(!) had to pay the 100.00 deductible, but then had to pay for filters, oil(again!!) and miscellaneous other expenses the warranty didn't pay!!altogether, with what the warranty paid, and what i paid (341.00)---it came to 2,200.00!!!---now this car is only 4 years old, barely!!! and i think that this is ridiculous!!!
Smelt burning anti freeze after driving the car. Head gaskets replaced front and back.1 - water pump replaced not it2- intake manifold gaskets replaced - not totally fixed 3 - head gaskets back of engine now being replaced.
While driving at approximately 60 mph gaugesmalfunctioned.the temperature gauge went way up, and the vehicle overheated. Steering wheel locked up, and vehicle stalled. Driver had to wait 20 minutes to an hour before the vehicle would start up again. Owner drove the vehicle back to the dealer, and was informed that the computer wasn't talking to the diagnostic. Dealer told the owner that the defects were taken care of. Yet, these problems still existed. Also, owner wasinformed that the intake manifold was defective.vehicle was out of warranty.
The contact owns a 2003 pontiac aztek. While attempting to stop at a stop sign, the brake pedal traveled to the floor and the vehicle failed to stop the contact drove onto the grass on the side of the road in order to stop the vehicle. The dealer diagnosed that the air conditioner condensation pipe caused the brake line to rot. The brake lines needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 82,000. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. Updated 03/01/17*lj
The contact owns a 2003 pontiac aztec.on october 26, 2006, the contact heard a rattling noise and noticed water on the floor of the front passenger side of the vehicle.she took the vehicle to the dealer three times for these failures.soon after her warranty expired, she was informed that a blower motor was needed for the a/c system and she paid for the repair.on january 9, 2007, the vehicle was towed to a mechanic because it would not start.the mechanic stated that she needed a battery.on october 30, 2007, the vehicle was taken to the dealer for winterizing and regular service maintenance.a noise was heard in the rear of the vehicle and it was discovered that the rear differential needed to be replaced.the contact paid $3,023 for the repair.the current mileage was 76,143 and failure mileage was 68,180. The dealer stated performed repairs on the rear differential assembly. Updated 11/16/07
Dt: the hazard, turn, and brake lights quitthis happened all at once. The consumer took the vehicleto a dealer and they performed a diagnostic test, the switch which showed to be defective.the aforementionedwere replaced, a new switch was installed and new flashers.

While driving at night driver cannot see right side of the road.the headlights cannot be adjusted laterally therefore the light shines to the right side of the line, into the grass and woods.*nlm

The contact owns a 2003 pontiac aztek.the contact was walking beside his vehicle when he smelled gas.he looked under the vehicle and noticed gas leaking from the inlet on the side of the tank.he placed a container under the leak.the contact has not taken the vehicle to the mechanic.the current and failure mileages were 84,000.
The contact owns a 2003 pontiac aztek.the contact smelled a strong odor of fuel outside the vehicle.he also observed a small amount of fuel spilling from the lower portion of the fuel tank.the failure occurred without warning.the vehicle has not been taken to an authorized dealer for repair.the vin was excluded from nhtsa campaign id number rq06009 (fuel system, gasoline:storage:tank assembly:filler pipe and cap), although the failures were identical.the failure and current mileages were 74,000.
2003 pontiac aztek - fuel smell for several weeks with no obvious cause. Weather warmed during this period and smell became stronger with increased ambient temps. About three or four weeks later, fuel was found on the ground beneath the filler vent tube beginning with a small damp spot and eventually becoming a puddle (only when tank was filled).took it local dealer where they informed me that there were no recalls for the 2003 model year and it would cost me $1200 to replace the tank. I was informed that they would accept no responsibility for the vehicle or accidents if i chose to drive the vehicle in this condition.i went home, researched the recalls and discovered that there was a recall for the 2004 model year. My vehicle was manufactured in may of 2003 and the recall began in october of 2003 for the 2004 model year.i returned to the dealer, told them that they had 12 hours to make up their minds on how they wanted to handle it. My family had to go to duluth that weekend and we had no other transportation. I told them that if anything happened as a result of that trip, they could claim all they wanted that they were not responsible but a jury would certainly see it much differently. They called me the next morning and scheduled an appointment to replace the tank and i agreed to pony up $100 of the cost just to be fair. The vehicle had about 60,000 on it at the time.
I just bought a used 2003 pontiac aztek yesterday from a used car dealer, and today the fuel system is leaking gas. The dealer said that the car had not been wrecked. I have not ordered a carfax to verify him. There are a couple of recalls for this problem already but a pontiac mechanic said over the phone that my vehicle is not affected. It seems like my vehicle should be added to the recall list because of so many similarities. There are approximately 21,000 units affected by the current recalls. It just does not seem accurate that all of those fuel systems were considered faulty and that my aztek's fuel system is considered fine when it is leaking gas. My aztek was manufactured in november 2002. The service engine soon light is on and stays on most of the time. The dealer swore the problem was just a loose gas cap and there was nothing else wrong with it. When i bought the car, the tank was filled just above empty and i filled the tank that evening with 15.8 gallons of 87 octane gas and woke up today with the entire inside of my home smelling like gasoline. My husband was able to see that the gas is leaking from around the joint between the filler hose and the fuel tank. The leak is not heavy or flowing it is just steadily seeping. The vehicle still drives really smooth. But i am not sure how explosive a gas leak is and i am not driving it until i do. I have a scan gauge and it estimates the car getting around 7mpg. The vehicle has 92,500 miles on it and only one previous owner. All of the complaints that i have researched online seem identical. I just want to know if this fuel leak is from a common faulty part that the manufacturer is responsible for.
1)when i removed gas cap to fill tank with gas, i heard a hissing sound coming out of the gas tank.when trying to fill tank with gas, hose kept clicking off and would not allow me to put gas in the tank.i went to a different gas station and the same thing happened.i have since been unable to use the car as i can not fill the tank.2)this second problem has been ongoing since i purchased this car.the "service engine soon" light keeps coming ona regular basis.i have had this checked out each time and the mechanics always have a hard time identifying the problem.this has been extremely costly.further more, the vehicle can't pass inspection with that light on.3) this third problem has also been ongoing.i have to replace my brakes at least twice a year.they wear down quickly and make an awful grinding noise.the mechanics cannot understand the reason for this either. Except to tell me this car is defective.4)in the last year or so, when i make a turn in either direction, there is a grinding noise.my transmission fluid levels are always good when this happens.5) the hatch does not open when the automatic opening button is used, must always have someone in the back to open it as i simultaneously push the button.6)when i press the brakes to stop, it feels like the brakes disengage or the anti-lock brakes kick in and this happens when road is drythis car has been a piece of junk since the day i bought it and has caused multiple financial and emotional problems with all it's defects.i will never buy a pontiac or gm car again!!!!!!!!!!!
Leakage from the fuel tank inlet filler pipe (inlet check valve). Similar issue as to nhtsa recall campaign number 07v349000. However, 07v349000 only included vehicles for the pontiac aztek built in may 2003 for the recall phase. I purchased my aztek in feb 2003.
(1) 2003 pontiac aztek, 41500 miles in service 2 years 3 months, with no identifiable cause started to leak gas at the filler neck. (2) gas leaked very quickly when tank was filled.(3) due to warranty being only 36000 mi dealer examined leak for $100 diagnostic charge, but not part of tsb and normal bumper to bumper warranty expired due to mileage, dealer wanted $900 to fix it.after appealing to pontiac corporate, goodwill extension of warranty got tank replaced.dealer keptpart. I personally think if no cause of leak is found (as in collision type damage/vandalism) gas tank should be covered as part of emission control system (5 years/100,000 miles i think...).what good is an evaporative vapor collection system if you are leaking gas all over highway?
Our gas tank inlet check valve is leaking on our 2003 aztek.there was a recall on this exact part in 2007.we were not the owners at that time and they owners did not take care of it. It is now leaking and gm is refusing to let us use this recall.they are saying it may be covered under a special coverages policy but that we have to pay to take it in. They will not haul it in, but we will have to drive it which is very unsafe for a leak that excessive.
Dt*: the contact stated the gas tank which is plastic developed a crack and started to leak, which could result in a fire.
Fuel cell cracked where neck meets body of fuel cell. Could smell it for about a week but no leak was ever seen, until a few weeks later.

The contact owns a 2003 pontiac aztec.the contact received a recall notice for nhtsa campaign id number 07v349000 (fuel system, gasoline:storage).three weeks later, she smelled a strong odor of gasoline coming from the vehicle.the manufacturer informed her that she was sent the notice in error; therefore, the contact would be responsible for the repair costs.the vehicle has not been repaired.the failure and current mileages were 108,000.updated 07/15/08the consumer stated the problem was not related to the recall. The problem was aleaking fule line going into the fuel filter. Updated 07/15/08.
1. Driving on city street and hit a golf ball size rock2. Gas tank was punctured, and brake line was crushed.drove for 4 more miles before we smelled the gas and got out and saw it spraying out from the side of the car.the fact that it didn't explode is a miracle, i was with my 9 year old son.3. The pontiac aztek, which this car is, is promoted and advertised as a vehicle for going off roud through dirt roads and streams, this happened driving along a city street.the manufaturer won't fix this problem, to me it seems like a fundamental, and potentially design flaw.had my car exploded and killed me and my son, would pontiac have paid attention to the problem then?does it take a death to get their attention about a serious problem?
Dt*: the contact stated a smell of fuel was noticed after the vehicle was parked in a driveway.the contact filled the gas tank shortly before the smell was noticed, and believed that some fuel may have spilled causing the smell.a week later, the contact noticed a puddle of fuel under the vehicle while it was parked.upon visual inspection, the contact noticed gas leaking from the weld where the filler neck met the tank.the contact drove the vehicle to the independent dealer where the vehicle was purchased from.the independent dealer contacted an authorized sales dealer to check for any recalls.there was a nhtsa recall, #03v454000, regarding the fuel system, gasoline: storage. The vehicle was not included in the recall due to the vin. Both dealers determined that the fuel tank needed to be replaced.
2003 pontiac aztek with a recall concerning a fuel leak. Consumer is requesting reimbursement for recall repair that was done before the recall was received. Consumer would like total reimbursement.
On saturday sept. 1st my aunt told us she smelled gas when she came over to our house.when we went outside to check it out we noticed gas dripping fairly quickly out of the bottom of our pontiac aztec.we have had no other problems with this car and have not smelled gas before.we have never been in an accident in the vehicle nor have we had anything hit the car.we have not taken the car in to a certified dealer yet while we try to ascertain the recall data.we immediately looked up any recalls and found yours on several websites.however, when i called the gm phone number listed they said that there were no recalls on that model at this time.that is not the case.could someone please tell me what to do in order to see if this recall concerning gas tanks, and fuel leakage applies to my car. Thank god she happened to smell the gas or we could have had a serious explosion. We are very concerned about this problem.thank you so much,
I have a 2003 aztek and the fuel tank has been leaking from the weld at the check valve and the tank. I have found a recall for the same problem on the 2004 models when i called pontiac they said there was noproblems with this model but it is the same problem as the recall.
The contact owns a 2003 pontiac aztek.during a routine inspection, the dealer found a crack in the fuel tank.the dealer was unable to determine the cause of failure.the manufacturer stated that her vin was not included in nhtsa campaign id number (fuel system, gasoline:storage).the failure mileage was 97,537 and current mileage was 98,000. We have replaced the gas tank on our 2003 aztek because it was leaking gasoline from around the joint with the filler tube and filling our house (with attached garage) with a strong gas smell.we understand from your website that this problem is the subject of a recall.the original tank is not available.
2003 aztek. Noticed 1/4 tank of gas leaked under vehicle. No prior problem with gas leakage or event causing the leakage. Took car to gm dealer. They said i would have to replace the entire fuel tank. No used parts or aftermarket parts could be used because of a modification to the gas tank after this car was produced. No recall information was available. I contacted pontiac customer service and got a run-around. They were to call the service department to discuss. They failed to follow through. There is a nhtsa rq06-009 action open on this problem but no one seemed to care. It appears that i am stuck paying for a manufacturer defect.
- the contact has a 2003 pontiac aztec 55200.on january 31, 2007 the contact found a pool of leaked fuel under the vehicle after he sensed a gas smell.the vehicle was parked in the garage the night before.the smell traveled from the garage to the home over night, and was noticed in the early morning hours.the contact then ventilated the home ,and took the vehicle to the dealer that morning.the service adviser determinedthat the gas tank separated from the main hold, causing the gas leak.the contact filed a complaint against gmc because the leak could have been ignited and a fire may have occurred. The contact owns a 2003 pontiac aztek. While parked the contact smelled gasoline and observedit leaking from the fuel tank.upon arriving home the contact noticed that the leak had increased.the dealer advised her to drive to the repair shop with the fuel leaking from the vehicle.the dealer replaced the gas tank, and stated that the failure was due to gm using plastic to connect the filler hose to the gas tank.the current mileage is 50,100, and failure mileage was 42,067.ea07-006.pco
Car caught on fire and totalled my car.my home almost burned to the ground.
The smell of gas, changing the fuel pump more than once. Problem reading the level of gas. Vehicle was driving when it start shaking and stop(2nd time). The vehicle was park and could not start(1st time).
I recently borrowed my mother-in-law's vehicle.when i returned to my home i parked in the attached garage.later, when my daughter came home she asked why it smelled like gas.i went to check and upon entering the laundry area (directly attached to the garage via access to the house) i noticed the smell.i inspected the garage and thought, perhaps, the smell was coming from a weed wacker.later, i went to check on some laundry and the gas smell was even worse.i opened the door to access the garage and then recalled the weed wacker was actually broken and was only there to be discarded in the trash next pickup.i was concerned and went and woke my husband saying i smelled over-powering gas smell and to please come check.he indicated he thought it may be his mom's car.he came down, smelled the gas too, and we pulled the car out and parked it in the driveway and left the garage door open for a bit.the smell went away.my mother-in-law has been ill for a period of time but previously she would complain of her gas gauge not working properly.that said, i inspected both the garage and the driveway or leaks and found none.when i did move the car i did smell gas outside of the car but not nearly as strong as when it was enclosed inside the attached garage.my in-laws keep this vehicle parked in the driveway so the chance of them smelling the issue and thinking anything seriously wrong was slim.i'm not comfortable driving the car and wouldn't recommend anyone else drive it until it is evaluated by a certified mechanic (my opinion by a dealership mechanic)
"takata recall""stalls when i'm driving or when i'm coming to a stop it will completely shut off and when i start it up and throughout the ride is shakes and vibrates sometimes it won't start sometimes it'll start right away i don't replace spark plugs coils oil changed i'm still doing the same thing every place i go saying the same thing your says possible misfires cylinder 5 fuel and c2o oxygen simpson and i also replace the fuel filter still no different still writes the same way runs hot like it's not getting no water to the engine
I can smell a gas leak coming from my aztec. I do know there was a recall on the fuel system and it was never honored because there was none at that time. There is now a leak as well as a major smell of fuel coming from it. I did call about the recall and they don't want to honor it even thou it was never replaced the first time. It is going to cost me about $1500 to have it replace....i do believe the recall should be honor. I call the dealership where it was bought brand new. And spoke with the owners. And they said they never received the letter to have it replaced. The dealership said it out of warranty and they will not cover it even thou the recall was never done on it.
The contact owns a 2003 pontiac aztek. The contact stated that the brakes did not always respond and needed to be applied repeatedly in order to function as normal. The contact also stated that the anti lock brake warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a repair shop, where faulty sensors where replaced; however the warning light remained illuminated. The vehicle was then taken to a dealer, who found a leak on the fuel injection system. The contact replaced the fuel injection system. The vehicle then experienced difficulty driving uphill. The vehicle's speed decreased and the contact was unable to accelerate. The mechanic stated that the pivotal joints in the rear wheels were defective and caused unusual tread wear and tear of the tires. The vehicle was included in the recalls associated with nhtsa campaign id numbers 07e021000 (fuel system, other:storage:tank assembly:pressure relief devices) and 07v349000 (fuel system, gasoline:storage). The manufacturer was made aware, however no assistance was provided due to mileage on vehicle. The failure mileage was 150,000. The current mileage was 160,000.
The contact owns a 2003 pontiac aztek. The contact stated that there was a strong odor of fuel and discovered that there was a fuel leak. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 165,000.
Key keeps getting stuck in ignition, steering column gets stuck.fuel tank is leaking and check engine light keeps coming on and staying along with service engine light. Fuel pump keeps going out replaced 3 times.
The contact owns a 2003 pontiac aztek. After re-fueling the vehicle, the contact noticed strong fuel fumes inside the vehicle and near the fuel tank. The fuel and temperature gauges fluctuated up and down. The vehicle was diagnosed by a mechanic more than once. The contact also notified two different dealers to try to schedule a repair appointment. The vin was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 07v349000 (fuel system, gasoline). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was not available.
The contact owns a 2003 pontiac aztec. When there was half a tank of fuel in the vehicle, there was no leak present. However, when the vehicle had a full tank of fuel, there was a progressing leak. The contact noticed a puddle under the vehicle and strong fuel fumes were present inside and outside the vehicle. The dealer and an independent mechanic were notified. The vin was not included in nhtsa campaign numbers: 07v349000 (fuel system, gasoline) and 07e021000 (fuel system, other). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 75,000. Updated 01/26/17*lj

1. The vehicle will not come out of park without shutting it off if i leave it running and put it in park like at a drive-through etc. Have not had it checked or repaired because out of warranty and cannot afford to fix.2. The rear window hatch will not open properly. I had the dealer repair once while still under warranty but it is doing it again.3. Front wheel bearing replaced once and is roaring like it needs to be replaced again.4. The back middle seat belt fell apart and is too expensive to repair.5. The vehicle goes through brakes rather quickly. Has been less than a year and they need to be replaced again.

The contact owns a 2003 pontiac aztec.the contact stated that the vehicle would not start and noticed that the gear shifter was in drive with the engine off. The contact was able to shift in to park and the vehicle started as normal. The vehicle was not examined for the cause of the failure and there were no repairs.the failure and current mileage was 123,557.
2003 pontiac aztec freely rolls forward(as if in neutral) when automatic transmission is in reverse, while on a grade, and also freely rolls backward(as if in neutral) when automatic transmission is in drive, while on a grade. Dealership and gm consider this normal operation.my husband and i do not we consider this to be extremely unsafe for anyone walking or driving in front or behind us on a grade where you may have to stop and go.
Vehicle is automatic but still rolls backward in drive.dealer's service department says this is normal.i've driven for almost 50 years and no other vehicle i havedriven that was automatic did this.
The contact owns a 2003 pontiac aztec. The contact stated that the vehicle was parked with the engine in operation. The front driver's side door was completely open. Suddenly, the unoccupied vehicle began to roll into a nearby lake. The contact was standing by the opened door and sustained moderate injuries from being struck by the door as the vehicle gained speed. The vehicle rolled into the lake and was destroyed as a result of crashing and being submerged in water. The vehicle was towed to a savage facility. The manufacturer was not notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 73,000. Updated 7/12/12 the consumer stated the vehicle jumped from reverse to neutral.she was sitting in the vehicle with her foot on the brake, with the vehicle in reverse. When she removed her foot from the brake to continue backing up, she discovered the vehicle was in neutral. It was moments later, when she standing outside of the vehicle, when the vehicle jumped from park knocking her down to the ground. The vehicle went into the lake. Updated 07/18/12
Intermittently, when in park with the engine running, the vehicle can not be shifted to any gear without turning the engine off and restarting. The inverse of this has been trying to shift in to part and the it will not go !. Turning the engine off had no effect on this condition and it had to be left in gear. Of course the lights don't go off and the vehicle had to be "chocked" and the battery disconnected. The date can be disregarded as this happens occasionally.
The contact owns a 2003 pontiac aztec.while driving 35 mph, the rpms increased from 2,500 to 3,500 without warning.the vehicle would not move forward.the dealer stated that the gears failed and the vehicle needed a new transmission.as october 16, 2007, the dealer had not repaired the vehicle.the failure mileage was 88,000 and current mileage was 116,000.
While the vehicle is running - vehicle is in park - vehicle will not come out of park and go into gear.you have to turn it off and restart the vehicle to get it to come out of park.
2003 aztek with 65000 miles have to replace transmission. Contacted gm said i did not have fluid changed at 50,000 miles that the trouble was my fault. I contacted gm they said nothing they could do. I contacted 3 other transmission shops---all 3 said changing the fluid would not have stopped the problem. Gm then tells me they can not take the word of another mechanic because they are not gm certified. I will never buy gm again. I was told this would be a very dependable car. Not even 3 years old. I should not have this problem.
While driving about 55 mph on the highway andapproaching an intersectiongear wasstuck in drive, driver lost control, resulting in a collision.
We purchased this vehicle as a "gm certified vehicle" but found out later that it was not properly inspected as the brakes were bad all of the way around. The dealer took care of it, but 3 days later a loud humming started to occur when we turned the vehicle left. Upon reporting it to the dealership, they told me they could fix it for $600+. This problem has since gotten worse to the point where the humming almost drowns out your voice when you drive down the road. And if you turn left, it is so loud that it hurts your ears. Even when we turn at a slow rate of speed, say in a parking lot, it sounds like a deep hum and crunching sound on the left front and rear. The dealership says it's clutch pads, and that they are not responsible for the repairs as we reported it 3 days after we bought the aztek. Even pontiac blew us off, and offered a years worth of oil changes and lubes for our trouble.....after 5 months, we still have yet to get that certificate. I will be sure to never look at another "gm certified vehicle" again after the way we were treated.

I recently purchased a 2003 pontiac aztek and wanted to complain about the latch system. According to my owners manual the vehicle is equipped with the latch, however it is missing the rear latch tethers. The owners manual clearly indicatesfor the center position the latch anchor is located directly behind the seat on the floor of the cargo area, but there is no latch anchor there. I am not sure if some designer changed the position of the latch anchor and did not change the owners manual but i have looked and can find no rear latch anchor for the center seating.
My anti lock brakes come on without warning all the time. Even if its a simple stop sign or im turning a corner. I can feel the vibration under my feet and my anti-lock light comes on,the dash. Its very scary. I bough my car not even 6 months ago from a local dealer. The brake issue started about 2 months in to me having the vehicle. I have done research online and it seems this is known issue for these types of cars. Something about a sensor inside the steering wheel. Its is very unsafe and from the things i've read a very common issue.
I had a flat tire, rear driver side tire. I was unaware of the actual mileage that was on my car at that time.pulled over and changed flat tire with spare doughnut tire (which is a joke). I proceeded to drive off and theabs light immediately came on and said it was disabled.i continued driving to les schwab tire center in hood river, or..they said the flat was not repairable and they were unable to sell me 1 tire since my vehicle is awd.i limped back home to portland on the 35 mph spare tire.i was able to get cheaper tires through another dealer but when my new tires were put on my abs never reactivated and to this day the light stays on saying it is disabled.it is the difference between drivinga 1973 monte carlo vs a 2003 pontiac aztek.i have had several places check it out and they have said it is in the wheel sensors??? all 4? i had them replaced and it still says the abs is disabled.what is the problem?and this went out over having a flat tire?? i do not have the money to take it to dealer.please tell me what to do to get this fixed.it is annoying at best.thank you.

The brakes locked up when they were applied, which caused the vehicle to experience extended stopping distance.

On nov. 25 & 26, while pulling up to a red light (2 times) and only traveling approximately 3 to 5 mph my pontiac aztek (2003) has felt like the brakes have released (disengaged while my foot was still on the brake pedal) and has caused me to stop 5 to 10 feet beyond the point where i intended to stop.the feeling was that of applying your brakes on a wet road and your abs system kicks in.however, in this case, instead of a repeated apply, release, apply braking feeling, it felt as if the brakes released on the one time and then fully applied as it should have done. *la
While driving at any speed consumer applied the brakesand there was a delay before the vehicle stopped.
Replaced abs control unit module due to an internal short. Also, replaced front and rear brake rotors.

Replaced abs control unit module due to an internal short. Also, replaced front and rear brake rotors.
While braking at 40 mph vehicle vibrated.dealership repaired the rear brake drums eight times, but the problem recurred.the consumer indicated that thebrakes were still bad and the rear brakes were replaced again.
The brakes want stop on time and the car is making all kind of loud noises like something is loose in the front went i turn right. The heater want work on high. I had the front drivers side wheel barrel replaced because it went out now this. After 20 years i finally brought a brand new car and it seams to have more major problems then a use one . I am very disappointed i have just started riding the bus because i can't afford to get this fixed and i am afraid i will crash. They should do a recall on the 2003 aztek for the brakes before someone is injured. I have seen at least 6 complaint on the brakes. I think this starts to happens after 80000 or 90,000 miles.
Key keeps getting stuck in ignition, steering column gets stuck.fuel tank is leaking and check engine light keeps coming on and staying along with service engine light. Fuel pump keeps going out replaced 3 times.

I purchased a used 2003 pontiac aztek in oct of 2006, it has 43k miles.the next day, i noticed a squealing noise when i turned, i took it back to the dealership and was advised it was due to the vehicle being "all wheel drive". About 4 days later, i noticed that when i am on an uneven road or hit a bump just right, the vehicle swerves badly, sometimes into the other lane. I called pontiac andwas advised that this is a safety hazard not just to the driver of the vehicle but to others on the roads also.they told me that i need to take it to the dealership to get a diagnosis.i advised them that there are many complaints on the internet about the same thing & these people have spent thousands of dollars & it is still not fixed.i advised pontiac that this is going to cause a major wreck one day & they are going to be liable for not recognizing the problem & fixing it.
Severe noise problem when driving over 40 mph with passenger rear window open.
Drivers side door hinge became bent after a year of use. Apparently pontiac knows of the weakness and issues new hinges only if there is a problem. I requested having the other hinge replaced at same time. Will not do...only if it becomes damaged.
The contact owns a 2003 pontiac aztek.the contact repeatedly experiences failure with the front wheel of her vehicle.on december 9, 2003, the contact took the vehicle in for the hub assembly and wheel bearing to be replaced under warranty.the failures recurred and when she returned to the dealer, they stated that she would be responsible for the repair costs because the vehicle was out of warranty.the contact became upset with the dealer and called pontiac to inform them that the failure occurred prior to the repair as well; therefore, she would not pay for the repairs.the dealer repaired the vehicle for free.the vehicle was taken to the dealer a third time because it overheated and the warning light for the antilock brakes illuminated.the mechanic performed a diagnostic test and found that the anitlock and intake manifold and front driver's side wheel bearing needed to be replaced again.the contact began researching the issue for assistance.the failure mileage was 118,000.

Both front wheel bearings failed at 16,000 miles.dealer replaced both hub assemblies.dealer did not have any reason for extremely premature failure.
We purchased our 2003 pontiac aztek last july (03). This january, the vehicle started making a horrible grinding noise when driving on the highway. We took it to our local gm dealer for repair, and the left front wheel bearing had separated internally and needed to be replaced on 2/4/04. A few weeks later, noise returned. The right front wheel bearing had to be replaced today (3/29/04). This vehicle has less than 12,000 miles on it. One of the employees at the dealership said another aztek with low mileage had to have one bearing replaced twice. Could gm have gotten a defective batch of bearings, or is there possibly some design flaw that causes the bearings to wear out abnormally quickly? for the most part, i love this vehicle, but there are two other issues with it which could make it less safe to drive. The 'spoiler' between the slanted and verticle parts of the back window does impair rearward vision (i usually use the outside mirrors to check behind me because of that fact). Also, the windshield wipers move more slowly, even in the fast position, than most vehicles we've owned, which impairs visibility even in moderate rainfall.
While driving at any speed consumer heard loud noise coming through the front end, vehicle was taken to the dealer, andmechanic replaced the front wheel bearings.
While driving and when vehicle goes over the slightest bump back of the vehicle bounces . This causes loss ofcontrol. Dealership indicates that this is occurs because rear suspension is not adequate enough to support the weight of the vehicle.
Loose lumber noise/clunk in rear suspension - 2003 pontiac aztec - service bulletin exists for repair but out of warranty. This is a very expensive repair.
While driving, the tires valves came off.the right front and both rear tire valves tips blew off duringan air pressure check. The valve core broke off inside the valve which caused the failure.*ph
Firewall leaks a lot of water into both driver and passenger side floor areas.the water leaking in causes those interior areas to become soaking wet and dangerous (fuse box located where water is leaking), especially when it rains (even wet due in the morning can cause water to leak into the front cabin area).vehicle stationary and either in a parking lot or side street.i will take pictures/video the next time it occurs and upload them as described below.
Consumer state rear hatch spoiler blocks rear view vision. Please provide further information. *ph
When at a stop vehicle idled too fast, causing the vehicle to jerk forward.dealership was notified, but did not resolve the problem.
1.failure occurs when the windshield wipers are activated (inclement weather, windshield washer). 2.the wipers bind together and lock up on the way back to rest position.the binding happens frequently, and this incident is approximately the third time this has happened on this vehicle.there is constant risk the wipers could bind at any time during wiper operation.consequences include loss of forward visibility which could result in an accident, vehicle fire due to motor burning out while wipers are stuck (motor tries to move wipers to rest position even when wipers are switched off), or personal injury or death if struck while getting out of the vehicle at the side of the interstate in heavy rain or snow to unbind the wipers.3.corrective action:the driver must immediately stop the vehicle on the side of the interstate in heavy rain or snow and get out of the vehicle to manually unbind the wipers to restore forward visibility and to remove risk of vehicle fire due to windshield wiper motor burnout.wipers were replaced at the dealer, but incident recurred.wipers were replaced again at auto part store and correct blade sizes were verified to be correct, but incident recurred.
I live in a small town and there are 5 pontiac aztek and buick counterparts and all five of us have at least one mirror missing--just the glass part. What is the deal? the cheapest i have found is 71$ to replace and i find that appalling since i am on social security disability and the car payment/insurance is enough but to have to replace things like a mirror which has just simply fallen out is out of the question.
Difficulty seeing out the rear window due to the spoiler and lack of a windshield wiper.*phthat gave consumer difficulty in seeing incoming vehicles especially during the evening hours.*la
While driving my wipers stopped working while in the rain. Please refer to odi id#10100739. I almost crashed my car because i could not see. I had to constantly flick button on and off to get it to start back up.

Both wipers flew off the vehicle while driving 45 -50 mph in inclement weather. The consumer had to pull off the road due to severe visibility problems. The dealer was notified.
A few weeks ago the windshield wipers stopped working on my 2003 pontiac aztek, after shutting the vehicle off and restarting the vehicle the wipers began to work.wednesday, november 24th, while driving in the rain my windshield wipers stopped working once again.while trying to shut the wipers on and off to correct the problem i noticed smoke coming from the dashboard, smoke then filled the passanger compartment.i pulled the vehicle off the road and opened the hood, the windshield wiper motor was charred appearing to have been on fire.the fire department was notified and responded.the fire department verified any fire that exsisted was extinguished.upon further inspection it appears an electrical harness is damaged.vehicle was towed to the dealership.the dealership claims this problem is not coved under warrenty because a emergency responce siren was installed in the vehicle, this item was not operating at the time of the fire.i am still waiting for the full damage report from the dealership.it does not appear they are willing to honor the vehicles warrenty on this item.
