Nar 06/19/2003.*mrthe consumer was involved in an accident and the vehicle was totaled. The car was occupied with two airbags and at the time of the accident none of the airbags worked.

Airbag and rear wipers run off same fuse, driver complains that wiper fuse is too expensive, but must replace to have use of airbags.

Consumer notified the dealership to make and appointment to have the vehicle repaired under the airbag recall .after a month the parts were not available.

We had the minivan in for the rear latch recall, and in the process the mechanics replaced the chest buckles for both integrated child seats.before, the chest buckles were permanent.now, my children can remove them and take their arms out of the restraints.i am extremely angry about this, as it poses a serious threat to their safety.why did they change these buckles and can they change them back?as a side note, our first 1994 plymouth voyager was totalled when we were flipped by a speeding police car.my ten month old survived because of the built in child restraint with the permanent chest buckle!!!!.

Engine stalls at highway speeds.will restart but will run rough the stall again.after setting for 3 to 5 minutes the engine will restart and idol correctly.when the transmition is put into gear the engine will sputter then stall.once the vehicle is moved to level ground and left to idol for 2 or 3 minutes the engine will run fine for awhile.the problem occurs at any any time the engine is under a load when the engine is cold or has been running for awhile.it happens consistantly at highway speeds and after driving 1 to 3 hours.at one time the engine stalled was in heavy traffic at 65 mph creating a traffic hazzard, most of the time this has occured traffic has been light.

This problem has already had a recall once. I had it fixed in 01/2000 . The same problem has come back, took it dealer in tulsa ok. They saw no new recall's . So when i turn on the rear wiper it blows the fuse which the airbag is using. Every time and i am using the right size fuse.

Airbag/rear wiper fuse - we drove the car for over a year with the airbag light on. Dealer refused to diagnose the problem but assured us that airbag was functional. Had recall work performed by dealer on 25 aug 1999. Fuse blew again on 3 sep 1999. Brake problem - brake warning light has come on twice while driving on expressway. Dealer refuses to attempt diaganosis, as they "can't replicate the problem."

Front pump replaced.

There's no cold air coming out, and there's a foul smell. Took to mechanic, and they replaced the airconditioner. ,this lasted for a month and it's hot again.

The rear heater hose/pipe beneath driver's door ruptured releasing steam and hot engine coolant (chrysler part# 3849951).this metal pipe is made of cheap highly corrosion susceptible metal that rusts out in a few years.this is second replacement due to pipe rupture (first was march 1998). *nlm

Oil is leaking from the valve cover gasket for the third time in about 6 months. The valve cover and other parts were replaced once in march and once in july. The problem was corrected by the dealership the first and second time. The current problem has not been corrected.

Starting in early 1996 the van started to stall when slowing to a stop. This did not occur every time i stopped, and it was very unpredictable as to when it would happen. The dealership in ft. Walton beach couldn't find a problem, but cleaned the fuel injectors and throttle body to try to see if that was the problem. It seemed to help, but a few weeks later the problem resurfaced. Over the last three months i have had this problem come and go with no solution in sight. I moved to california last year and the dealership in lancaster could not find a solution. Yesterday i found a secret service bulletin # 18-16-96 which address this very problem. The fault is with the hardened crankshaft position sensor.

Louis and greiners in waterloo, il. They both have told me of numerous eveporators that the yhave replaced. The head lights become cloudy because of ultraviolet damage to the plastic. The plastic needs ultraviolet protection, like our eyeglasses have ultraviolet protection. The headlight develop cataracts, literally, becoming cloudy and very difficult to see clearly at night. I have to drive very slowly. I have found maguire's pastx does help for a few months and then the headlamps or lenses become cloudy again. Of course each time i use this plastic cleaner and polisher, i am diminishing what little uv might be left in the plastic. This cloudiness of the plastic also is bad enough to prevent the passing of state inspections in pennsylvania - it's regarded as a possible hazard obviously according to the state inspection.

Since initial purchase, vehicle has had a slight shudder when shifting at 35-40 mph. All along i have been told it was normal. Apparently this is not the case, as is shown by reviewing customers complaints on your web site. Now, the shudder is very pronounced. I respectfully request that a recall be issued to take care of these problems. The normal repair, which has been successful is to replace the torque convertor and shift solenoid block. Also, the problem is evidenced by the tsbs that are on shift quality improvement and torque convertor shudder. This problem gets more pronounced with time, and could also relate to problems like engine mounts causing clunking noise when shifting into reverse (mount worn out by continually vibrating (abnormally) at shift speeds). The original selling dealer was butler chrysler/dodge in beaufort, s.c.. I believe it is time for auto manufacturers to be responsible to their consumers and fix problems, not just issue tsbs, and hope no one complains enough to cause a recall. And amazingly enough when they do issue a recall, it just happens to skirt the vehicles with problems reported, such as mileage limit below reported vehicles. Please assist in making the auto dealers of america a respectible group again.

1994 plymouth voyager transmission failure:this vehicle is garage kept with low-average mileage. In speaking to various other auto groups, mechanics, dealers, apparently this is a common problem in chrysler based minivans. I believe this to be a design defect. Specifically the seals in the clutch. Apparently, they are designed with very thin sidewalls which degrade quickly, fail, and cause the transmission clutch to lose pressure. Chrysler refuses to offer any assistance.a note to the mfg (chrysler):transmissions are not supposed to fail at 59k. I was treated with total disregard when i called the customer center. This is the first & last chrysler product i will purchase.

The molding on the rear window would melt and drip all along the sides.the van would die when waiting at a stop light during the summer months when the air conditioning unit was on.i would have to turn everything off, put in park and try to restart the engine.too many times we could have caused an accident not too mention the 100 + degrees we have here in the desert.the first time the van stalled out we had just started out from a red light, the van died as we were going throught the intersection.all power died and luckily i was able to coast over several lanes of rush hour traffic into a parking lot to try to restart the engine.it would always restart, however only with the air turned off along with the radio.we took the van to our own mechanic hoping the cost of repair would be lower.however after repeat stalling problems and finally no air conditioning at all we brought the van to the chrysler-plymouth dealer who took over from ed moses , jim click .the $659.17 we paid them to replace the evaporator coil & recharge the ac system is another yearly major defect we have had to repair.november of 1997 we paid $714.50 for the dealer to overhaul the transmission, flash the controller and flush the cooler.we did seek and received assistance from the chrysler corporation for that repair but for only half of the total repair cost.we also seeked assistance from again regarding the ac repair but were told that since we didn't use the dealer for repairing the original stalling problem that they wouldn't do anything for us.these are not isolated repair problems and we thank goodness that none of our children, ourselves and others haven't been seriously hurt or killed.the rear window that shattered was kept intact only because we had sun protective film installed. We thought we had been shot at as we were departing an amusement park in los angeles at night and were waiting to turn at an intersection. Our twin 4 year old daughters were in the back

While driving, another vehicle pulled in front of the consumer, the consumer applied the brakes and the vehicle slowed down, but the pedal went to the floor, the consumer was able to maneuver to the shoulder and used the emergency brake. The vehicle was taken to a mechanic who stated the brake lines, the rubber hose and the metal tubing all had to be replaced.the rubber hose had numerous cracks and the metal tubing which failed contained extreme rust.

We took our plymouth voyager to our dealer with a complaint of a loud "clunk" in the front end.we were informed that our transmission was failing and that it would soon require replacement.we asked if the vehicle was safe to drive as we had to leave on a 400 mile business trip the next day.we were informed that the transmission could fail, but that it would not cause and accident.we then left for our destination.we took it to a mechanic at the destination and he informed us that their was nothing wrong with the transmission, but that the vehicle required immediate repairs to the front ball joints.he said the vehicle was extremely unsafe and should not be driven until repairs were completed.we had him do the repairs.upon removing the front ball joints he showed us that one had probably never been greased since we bought the car.he also said that due to the zerk fitting aiming down it required a special tool to get grease into it and that he had always replaced these poorly designed zerk fittings with angled ones so that they could routinely be greased.the replacement ball joints were equipped with the proper grease fittings which would allow easy maintenance.i took the failed parts to my dealer and was informed that despite my having numerous lubrications and safety checks at their facility that it was not their fault.i disagreed whole heartedly and since have had no further dealings with their department.my question is this.....am i the only plymouth voyager owner out there riding on a vehicle with unserviced ball joints.if it is so difficult to properly lubricate them, how many other people are riding in vehicles that could have disasterous front end failures.why were the improper zerk fittings put into these vehicles in the first place.i feel that a routine inspection of similar plymouth voyagers could show a trend of improper (or zero) maintenance.please investigate this potential safety hazard!

The liftgate support bracket recall 99v210000 remedy failed. This resulted in the liftgate opening while driving.

I bought my van on 03/02/2012. It was inspected on 03/03/2012. On 03/08/2012 i was driving and it was all over the road and very hard to control. I stopped at monroe muffler and had the tires checked,they were fine. I made an appointment to have the van totally checked on 03/12/2012. I was told i had a bad tie rod and ball joint and that they should not have passed inspection. I have tried several times to contact the dealer and he now seems to be avoiding me. Plastic wheel bearing melted/disintegrated.

I have a 1992 dodge minivan awd and 1994 plymouth minivan awd.both have had sway bar break completely but within mount on drivers side so cannot be discovered until it later actually falls off.this break is not visible by professional examination on hoist.so - in effect one has no sway bar.

No known events other than use and rust lead to failure..the problem was discovered when passenger side rear tire began rubbing wheel well.please help, both leaf springs snapped/broke on our 1994 voyager! please be advised, be on watch for any other dodge/plymouth vans doing this, could cause dangerous loss of control and or accident/injury! this should not have happened! warning!this part # 80556pn/1504* main leaf springs is defective and amazingly broke completely into at the front mounts. Two front tires developed shifting radial belts which caused a shake in the steering. So far three of four tires have developed this problem, the first one having also been reported and almost causing an accident. While tires have 39,600 miles, they also still have lots of tread. Engine head gaskets blewout 3 times, andengine heads cracked twice.dealer claimed defect was due to radiator.consumer first had problem with vechile leaking oil, dealer replaced the valve cover and head gasket, vehicle leaked again and dealer replaced the front cam and crankseal, vehicle leaked oil a third time and dealer replaced cam seal and pcv valve, dealer later found cracked cylinder head and scored piston and replaced both, vehicle then began to overheat, dealer stated it needed a new thermostat, however it overheated again and the cylinder head had cracked again, later dealer stated that the radiator was the source of the problem, that it was causing the engine to overheat and it caused cylinder head to crack, consumer stated that the temperature gauge never indicated any overheating except for the 2 times mentioned.left axle replaced due to vibration, left axle shaft.brake ligh ton, parking brake was sticking.dealer replaced torque converter and leaking front pump in the transmission.rotors were turned and dealer replaced brake pads due to brake wear.new dashboard installed.repairs to airbag.

I have been working on this peeling paint problem for two years. I discussed this with the dealership several times - they offered to give me a free estimate for a new paint job! i have a chrysler case #9230347. The zone rep has looked at the van and offered to assist with repainting.i was told to get an estimate from maaco which was $1400 to repaint the roof and hood. He offered to pay $400. I decided to take them to small claims court and had another estimate to repaint the entire van for $3040.79. We went for our pretrial conference on june 10, 2003. I was told i need to prove that this dealership knew in 1994 that the paint would fail... I can't find a service bulletin. Better business bureau only keeps records for 3 yrs. We went to mediation - me, the lawyer from the dealership, and the zone rep for chrysler (bill sedick). The lawyer was a stereotypical sleaze... He said the statue of limitations was 6 yrs and this case should never have been brought to court. He tried to get the judge to throw it out before we even went to mediation. Then he threatened to make me pay thousands of dollars in legal fees... I dismissed the case against the dealership because i learned several months ago that i shouldn't have gone that route anyway. But i hope that sleazy lawyer doesn't think it was because of him... I told him he wasn't telling the truth - that there was no statue of limitations under the magnuson moss fed. Law... He was such a creep - he even made the court clerk mad because he said their dismissal form was bogus. Then the chrysler guy offered $1,500.00 for a paint job. He even apologized for the lawyer guy. I'm supposed to go to a paint shop for an estimate and mr. Sedick said he'd work with them and me to get the van repainted. He was pretty nice actually. He said he didn't want a dissatisfied customer and he hoped i would do business with them again - i said probably not...anyway thanks for your help.

The #16 fuse- ignition feed was blowing intermittently but now does it as soon as you turn the key on run position. Short cannot be found please help me. I am on fixed income and cant afford any more expenses after towing it 3 times in one week.

Please be informed of a potential auto fire defect on a 1994 plymouth voyager van with a 3.3 engine..cause: \tuse of a metal cable restraint cleat that holds the high amperage battery cable harnes, next to the alternator. Cleat is located before the main battery fuse link, condition agrivated with thermal warming, located above the exhaust manifold. Cleat cuts into the high amperage cable and ignites a fire in the cable harnes. Burning harnes is located directly below a flexable fuel line. It may not be possible to extinguish the resulting fire without removal of the battery clamp, as the fuse link affords no protection and the fire will re-ignite. Fault discovery: owner observed fire soon after ignition and used a fire extinguisher to put out the flames, but the cable continued to incandess until the battery clamp was removed. Followup examination of the recovered metal cleat showed indications of arc-burning.failure mode: the failure mode may explain the cause of other incidents where the vehicle was either parked unattended or being driven at higher speed, and evidence of cause could not be determined due to more extensive fire loss.

The molding on the rear window would melt and drip all along the sides.the van would die when waiting at a stop light during the summer months when the air conditioning unit was on.i would have to turn everything off, put in park and try to restart the engine.too many times we could have caused an accident not too mention the 100 + degrees we have here in the desert.the first time the van stalled out we had just started out from a red light, the van died as we were going throught the intersection.all power died and luckily i was able to coast over several lanes of rush hour traffic into a parking lot to try to restart the engine.it would always restart, however only with the air turned off along with the radio.we took the van to our own mechanic hoping the cost of repair would be lower.however after repeat stalling problems and finally no air conditioning at all we brought the van to the chrysler-plymouth dealer who took over from ed moses , jim click .the $659.17 we paid them to replace the evaporator coil & recharge the ac system is another yearly major defect we have had to repair.november of 1997 we paid $714.50 for the dealer to overhaul the transmission, flash the controller and flush the cooler.we did seek and received assistance from the chrysler corporation for that repair but for only half of the total repair cost.we also seeked assistance from again regarding the ac repair but were told that since we didn't use the dealer for repairing the original stalling problem that they wouldn't do anything for us.these are not isolated repair problems and we thank goodness that none of our children, ourselves and others haven't been seriously hurt or killed.the rear window that shattered was kept intact only because we had sun protective film installed. We thought we had been shot at as we were departing an amusement park in los angeles at night and were waiting to turn at an intersection. Our twin 4 year old daughters were in the back

This problem has already had a recall once. I had it fixed in 01/2000 . The same problem has come back, took it dealer in tulsa ok. They saw no new recall's . So when i turn on the rear wiper it blows the fuse which the airbag is using. Every time and i am using the right size fuse.

Intermittently windshield wipers quit working in the middle of operation,affecting driver's visibility.it does not matter what speedwindshield wipers are being used . In september 2000 the right front wheel of our 1994 plymouth voyager lx seperated from the vehicle without warning.neither the repair facility nor the insurance adjuster could explain what caused the wheel to seperate.i recently found some recall information on the plymouth voyager that matches the above incident (nhtsa campaign id #93v098000).could this defect under the recall be applied to other plymouth voyagers?
