I know the force of these outdated airbags are overkill on protection and cause more injuries and death then needed. This problem needs to be addressed, especially with so many older minivans on the road with these older systems of airbag deployment. Its been over a year since my accident and i suffer not only pain from my injuries caused by that airbag, but anxiety and distress every time i sit in a car with an airbag. I know own a vehicle in which i know that i will not be knocked out and injured by an airbag.

In addition,serviced transmission due to problems/a/c problems in august 94, and battery problems due to electricalshort,replaced battery and repaired electrical system infebrury, 95. Power steering problems, repairwork done in march,95.engine problems occurred, repairwork done to rocker shaft/push rods and oil filter inmarch 95. Finally, in may 95 starter burned out and replaced/in july,95/emergency light becamedefective and reset/recall jun. 96, liftgate latch replaced/december97, seat belt repaired/ apr,97 reset maintenance light and speedometer/ may, 97 belt drive problems and tensionerproblems also exit.dealer aware of the problems and problems go on. Repairwork at owner's expense with extended coverage on some. Provide further information.

When vehicle is put in reverse rear lights will not function, dealer sold vehicle in this condition. Ignition key is turned, starter does not turn over, starter and battery tested and o.k., safety switch replaced and problem persists.

I have owned two 1992 plymouth voyager mini-vans. In both vans i have had a battery explode. Both instances involved 2 different batteries (interstate & everstart) and occured when the ingnition key was turned to start the vehicle.

Feel sure that the family that burned up on the stevenson expressway in chicago had this problem, but the blame was pushed off on a trucker loosing metal off of his truck. The garage here in town stated thay have replaced numerous tensioners, so this is a pretty on going thing. I called detroit on this immediately, and was informed that it is off warranty, so we couldn't care less.i believe this to be wrong.thank you in advance for your kind attention.

We have had to put in two transmissions in this vehicle. The fireman didn't think the transmission problem was related to the problem howeverthe lady on the tv show stated she had been having transmission trouble.

I have a 1992 plymouth voyager.due to a defect in the engine, i had to have it rplaced in april of 2002.then this april, i had to have the transmission replaced. Simply put i had to have the engine replaced due to excessive smoking through the tail pipe. I am sure you have had other reports of this.it costs me $4,251.25 to replace and the transmission was another $2500.i do believe that chrysler should reimburse me for this.i have copies of historical maintenance reports for my van and copies of the bills for the engine and trasmission.when i had the engine replaced my regularplace of repair, goodyear, said it need an expensive valve job and this may or may not resolve the problem.thanks you for reading this.

I am a teacher and leave for work early in the morning.i live on an unlit semirural road with no sidewalks. Children walk along the road in order to get to the schoolbus stop at the end of my block.i came very close to striking a group of children because although my lights were on and i was driving very slowly i could not see them in the early morning light/darkness.i have since noticed that i can not see the road very well after dark and upon checking (i thought my headlight bulbs had failed) discovered that the plastic headlight covers have clouded over and far less than normal light is emitted and that light is greatly diffused rendering operation of my vehicle at night unsafe. I have not taken it to a dealer.if i do, are they responsible for replacing the headlight covers?

Headlight lenses cloud up un many of these vehicles to the point it restricts the amount of light that passes through the lens which in turn gives poor visability. If the manufacturers choose to continue using these covers then they should replace them free of charge when cloudy.. This is a safety hazard.

About two weeks ago i reported that the headlight lenses on my plymouth voyager,1992, have become so fogged over that it is nearly impossible to see when driving with the headlights on.i have seen other vehicles of this make with similar conditions.i asked if i should take it to a dealer and if lthey are required to replace the clouded lenses.so far i have not had any response from you.winter darkness is coming on and i will be doing a lot more driving with my headlights on and would like this problem taken care of.i drive almost 200 miles per day and am very concerned.

Gas line connecter corroded thenleaked.it' s close to exhaust tail pipe,and if system was under pressure, it could leak towards exaust pipe and cause a fire. *ml

Aluminum fitting that connects the lines together at the tank corrodes and turns the rubber gummy then starts to leak all the time when the van is running and then when the van is off and sitting still untill it looses its prime. This also happened to my 1991 plymouth voyager. I feel that this is a very dangerous situation if a person does not spot it and they get rear ended.

The second time was with approximately 78,000 miles, chrysler paid for the parts, i paid for the labor.the most recent time was 5/11/00 with 119,000 miles. My problem is that it seems every one that i speak to with a chrysler mini- van appears to have transmission failures. This will be my fourth transmission in eihgt years. This is a chronic problem with all of chrysler's mini vans and the nhtsa should address it. Thank you.

Is the transmission able to function properly or is this what caused my transmisson to go out.

The brake pedal stuck to the floorboard while driving approximately 40 mph and the abs warning light illuminated. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the motor pump assembly failed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer advised that nhtsa campaign number: 96v099000 (service brakes, hydraulic) was performed and the lifetime warranty for the motor pump assembly expired. The failure mileage was 95,000.

The contact owns a 1992 plymouth voyager.the contact discovered a recall pertaining to the abs in his vehicle and took it to the dealer.he was informed that they were not warranting the repair.in 2003, the contact experienced brake failure and was informed that the repair was made under warranty at that time.the failure and current mileages were 11,800.

Maintenance reqd light came on, brake light came on, 15 minutes later no brakes, switch and pump need to be replaced.

The contact received notification of a recall under nhtsa campaign id number: 96v099000 (component: service brakes, hydraulic: antilock) and had repairs performed by the dealer. The dealer advised the brake actuator piston assembly and the pump motor assembly would need to be replaced. The vehicle has not yet been repaired. The approximate failure and current mileages were 138,000.

My 1992 chrysler voyager has bendix 10 abs brakes and once the brake booster was out. Our local chrysler dealer made certain that the booster pump was burned out. While the pump was already replaced in 2000 they said the warranty covers only 1 pump per vehicle!! as i know recall 96v-99 (chrysler recall #685) refers to a lifetime warranty (for booster electrical pump). Short life, isn't it?

Ea96027, the support for the rear hatch keeps breaking. The hatchback does not stay in the open position. The struts have been replaced (5) times within (5) years.

Rear right hydraulic lift bolt sheared off at the top, causing the prop to disconnect.

On 21 february 2003, the bolt used to attach the right strut to the body and the rear liftgate broke not allowing the rear liftgate to open. A review of recalls for my model of vehicle (1992 plymouth voyager) on the nhtsa complaints database disclosed recall # 97v079000. The recall summary advised that owner notifications began during august 1997. I was never notified of this recall.

In 1996, we noticed some blistering on the hood of our van. By that same summer, the paint has begun to peel off. Since then, the hood is almost void of all paint and the paint on the roof has also peeled off and is rusting badly.after asking some casual questions concerning this, it was our understanding that nothing could be done and it was our loss.we now realize this is not true. After some research, we have found many complaints of the same and since there is is no class action against chrysler, we would like to proceed further to have this taken care of. If chrysler does not want to assume liability or a gesture of good will to have our van repainted, we are prepared to take this to small claims court.

97v-079000,chrysler only offered to pay half of the recall when tailgate supports broke off and injured one person.

Consumer took his vehicle for recall work on the lift gate support attaching bolts, dealer made no repairs, approximately 8 months later, the right side attaching bolt to the liftgate broke in half, causing the liftgate to fall unexpectedly.

The owner recieved her recall letter on locks and latches and set up an appointment. Later was told that the part has not been made 95i001000.

The consumer received a recall (95i-001) notice about left gate support bolts, consumer was informed by dealer to take vehicle to a body shop, consumer is requesting reimbursement.

Liftgate support bolts/washer recall repair not performed due to a lack of parts. (951001).

Weight fromspare tire is rubbing a hole inbrake hose, and it is making a hole in it.

While driving about 65/70 mph tread on the rear driver side tire peeled off.driver did manage to controlvehicle. 4 other passenger's were in the vehicle. No one was injured.two weeks before this , tire on the passenger's front sidewas replaced because it warped in high heat.dot # hymoa9ao56.manufacturer was contacted about tire.atlas took care of half of the replacement cost on new tires.thepeeled off tire caused damages to the customer's vehicle. Over the years that i have owned this van, i have had to replace the hub caps at least six times.it is obviously a poorly designed wheel covering as in addition to my own experience, i have noticed many many other plymouth vans that are missing their hubcaps.i believe that chrysler should be required to provide new hubcaps and to find a way to make them stay on.i do not drive on rough roads or roads full of potholes.

Decorative outer metal covers on nuts which secure the wheels to the rotor on special gold colored wheels and on similar wheels in silver white etc., come loose during normal driving and are projected at high speed like bullet.this could result in causing accidents and injuries including to pedestrians, breaking glass including windshield.
