The contact owns a 1992 plymouth grand voyager. The contact stated that while driving approximately 15 mph, there was a loud noise coming from the vehicle. After pulling over she noticed that the fuel rail was fractured and partially hanging from the vehicle. In addition, the sliding passenger side door would sporadically come off track and could not be closed properly. The door was closed using a cord.the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where they advised her that they would have to take the door apart for realignment. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and they offered no assistance, stating that there were no recalls on the vehicle. The failure mileage was approximately 160,000.

Fuel spilled out of the fuel rail.

Leak in fuel injector rail assembly could have caused an engine fire or explosion.assembly has no moving parts and should not have leaked.

The first dealership consumer went to kept saying the recall work was done, and it has not been.then she was authorized by chrysler to go to another dealership, and they are refusing service to the owner. Consumer started having abs light problems prior to recall 96v099, the dealer replaced the hydraulic assembly, brake system, rotors , pads, and the abs module, consumer has spent a lot of money and is requesting reimbursement due to the recall, dealer has attempted to correct the abs problem, however dealer can not correct the problem.transmission was replaced and consumer continues to have problems with automatic shifting.engine was noisy, thermostat gasket was replaced, motor mounts replaced, serpentine belt replaced.exhaust system, muffler, and rear pipe replaced.rear shocks replaced.spark plugs replaced.fuel filter replaced.

Fuel injector rail is leaking. Notified the dealer and was informed that they have 70 on back order. Other past problems with this vehicle include: transmission, a/c, timing cover kit and chain, serpentine belt and tailgate piston, all of which have been replaced. *ml

Consumer experenced intermittent leaking around the o-rings. Dealer notified, and informed consumer that vehicle was not under a manufacturer'srecall.

While the vehicle was idling consumer smelled a stronggasoline odor. Consumer opened the engine compartment, and observed gas dripping from the fuel rail.vehicle was immediately parked, and the manufacturer was informed.

Fuel injection fuel line o-rings leaks.the dealer told owner that this was a common problem.a recall has been issued on the vehicle make, but this vehicle was not included.the manufacturer has been notified.

Vehicle leaks gas when filled at gas station, customer notes that there is a crack on top of fuel tank, resulting in spillage of fuel while driving.

When stopped at times the vehicle'ssliding doors do not open on the inside and outside.

I had this vehicle for a very short time when i started to have problems with the sliding door not staying closed. After it is shut it pops open immediately. I have had the bolt adjusted several times and it would keep it closed, but not for long. After it had been opened and shut 2-5 times it would again pop open. This is an on going problem. I have parked the vehicle and will not drive it and fear to sell it due to this malfunction of the sliding door. Someone should replace this for free, but who? i am a single mother with 4 children and used to rely on a mini-van.

The weld that holds the front right side door together failed, causing the door to sag, and also the latch does not work.

Vehicle was recalled forrear latch. Latch was replaced couple years ago. But, attaching hardware came a loose and fell out, and latch assembly was no longer contained.the replaced latch was more dangerous than the original because it is not properly secured.

As i was opening the back hatch of our minivan the top bolt securing the right hydraulic cyclinder sheared off causing the trunk lid to abruptly come down bruising my right arm.fortunately this happened while opening the trunk but it is scarey to think that it could have happened while the lid was up and came crashing down on my children.ironically the vehicle was serviced in accordance to recall nhtsa campaign number 97v079000 in feb 98.however, the bolt was not replaced, only the washers as decribed by the recall notice.this remedy was not adequate to prevent the bolt from shearing.byers dublin dodge in dublin, ohio who originally serviced the vehicle for recall replaced both cylinders at no cost to us under recall.however, i did notify chrysler directly and spoke to chris nehoff in customer service on may 26.at that time chrysler informed me that there was no recall regarding this problem, that the vehicle was out of warranty, and it was unfortunate that i was injured but that they would do nothing.i was not permitted to talk to a supervisor.at that time the vin number i provided was the one from the owner's manual which was incorrect.this was either an invalid vin or belonged to another vehicle but the chrysler representative did not realize the problem.after finding the recall notice myself on your website, i contacted byers dublin dodge about the recall.they in turn called their district manager who apparantly approved the repair at no cost to us and kept the broken hydraulic cylinder.despite the fact that the vin was incorrect, an error chrysler should have caught, i am confused as to why i wasn't told about the recall when i contacted chrsyler, and the fact that our van had even been serviced for such a recall.moreover, this is a serious safety issue that such a heavy object can come crashing down without notice and has the potential to kill or seriously injure anyone-especially a small child.

We purchased our mini van in november 1996 and had the first transmission failure less than 2 months later and had the same problem "repaired" 3 times more in the 3 years we have owned it.in april 1996, a recall was issued for the abs of this make/model/year.when we purchased it, the dealership did not tell us this nor did chrysler corp.we found out after our abs failed when driving.luckily we were not involved in an accident.it then failed again 6 months after they "fixed" the abs in february 2000.they will not do the repair now for under $1600--we don't think we should be paying anything!i believe we may have been part of a consumer fraud from the dealership as they told us of no recalls at the time of purchase when there were several issued on this particular year and model.we want chrysler to refund our purchase price and cost of repairs over the past three years.we drive around with our 5 children in the car and cannot risk another abs failure.theasst to the ceo at daimler chrysler was of no help stating, "we don't make our vehicles to inconvenience you."when it is more than being "inconvenienced"it is about the safety of our family and other people on the road at the same time we are.any help you can give us is much appreciated as we will not give up until something is done to remedy this situation.thank you.

Transmission failed several times.

Vehicle suddenly down shifted posing a danger to vehicle coming from behind.

About a year ago, my van started shifting funny.i was having trouble going from first gear to second gear. If we turned off the ignition, the computer would reset itself and the van would run fine for a while.this went on for a few months, then we decided to have the transmission checked(because every one we know with chrysler vans has had the transmission replaced at some time), and the mechanic told us that the computer just needed to be reset,so we had it done.the van ran well for a few more months and then the troubles started up again only worse.we were having incidents of non-shifting almost every time we drove the van, so it is now parked in the garage and hasn't moved for about a month.we would like to get the transmission fixed, but wanted to see if chrysler had any recalls out on these vans.

Experienced hard brake pedal (lose of braking) and brake / abs lights illuminated on the dash board.this was the second failure in the last two years after approximately 14,000 miles of operation since the last repair and for at least the fourth time since we have owned this vehicle (bought new).previous repair involved replacement of brake accumulator, dual pressure switch, brake actuator piston assembly, and the pump motor assembly, the last two of which are subject to a lifetime recall.dealer refuses to repair/replace warranted parts without agreement that other parts are replaced at a cost of approximately $900.given that it is likely that warranted part failures are leading to the failure of the other components and that the last repair only lasted for 14,000 mile we requested that chrysler cover the entire repair.chrysler refused.in addition, it has been our experience that each time we have had the brake system fail, it has included the need to replace other brake system components beyond the parts subject to the lifetime recall.thus it would appear that the lifetime recall should have been expanded to cover all of the components impacted by the failure of the warranted components.

This van is affected by the 96v099000 nhtsa recall, however when inquiring about getting the abs motor replaced at a local dealership i was told that the parts are no longer made to fix this issue.i believe that chrysler has a duty to fix the brakes on this vehicle as directed by the nhtsa, parts obsolescence does not absolve them from responsibility or the nhtsa.if the parts are no longer available i request that chrysler purchase the van back from me and have it destroyed, fix the brakes according to the recall or convert the brakes to the non-abs type.i do not understand how chrysler and the nhtsa could allow bendix (the manufacturer of this rather problematic brake system) to stop making a lifetime replacement part.this issue causes the power assist to stop working, creates a hard pedal which makes it impossible to drive the vehicle safely.this creates a condition worse than a vehicle with all manual brakes that have no power / vacuum assist to begin with, when test driving the vehicle it takes both feet planted firmly on the pedal to stop it.as i have not gotten a satisfactory solution that was mandated and enforced by the nhtsa, i look forward to your prompt reply in this matter.

The contact owns a 1992 plymouth grand voyager. While driving various speeds, excessive force had to be applied to the brake pedal to stop the vehicle. The failure occurred without warning. Lodi chrysler jeep dodge ram (1255 beckman rd, lodi, ca) diagnosed that the abs pump module assembly and brake actuator assembly failed. The parts were included in a lifetime chrysler customer satisfaction campaign number: 682; however, the parts were unavailable. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and refused to honor the campaign because they no longer manufactured the parts for the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 189,000.

1st abs power wire melted, 2nd lost abs as dealer serviced vchicle

I would like to know more about the recalls for the above vehicle and what exactly they cover and don't cover and i go about getting them fixed.my car is now in the shop for failure of brakes.while i was out driving the brakes suddenly went on me

Two weeks ago the abs and brake lights came on in my 1992 plymouth grand voyager mini-van. At that moment there was no hydraulic brake pressure and it was very difficult to control the van. The van was towed to my regular, independent repair shop and they checked the condition and their diagnostic computer issued a coded error. I discovered that this abs brake was covered under an extended warranty by chrysler. I took the van to a nearby chrysler dealer and they checked. The abs light and brake light were out at this time and the dealer charged for one hour, gave me list of parts they considered may need to be replaced and verbally said it may cost about $400 or more to fix. They did not assure me that a warranty would apply.

While applying the brake the pedal went to the floor which caused a loss of braking power.the driver was able to control the vehicle and drove it to the dealer for inspection.the mechanic informed the driver that thedual function pressure system, pertaining tohydraulic assembly needed to be replaced. *la

They repainted the hood for me if i was willing to pay half and now it is doing the same thing all over again but worst.the wood paneling on the sides is just peeling away and the car looks like crap on the outside but is still running good due to all the money we put into it.the brakes have been fixed twice for a faulty switch and relay switch due to the abs brake system.i was out driving just this past week and without warning i lost my brakes and i am suffering from ms so i had a great deal of diffulty stopping the vehcile with one foot i had to use two feet and prayed a lot just to get back home.

Anti lock brakes failed prior to/after recall repair.

The first dealership consumer went to kept saying the recall work was done, and it has not been.then she was authorized by chrysler to go to another dealership, and they are refusing service to the owner. This is the 3rd time in 4 years that the abs system on this vehicle has failed.a claim was filed with daimler/chrysler on march 11, 1999.on april 2, 1999 i was contacted by customer service representatives of daimler/chrysler notifiying me that my claim was being denied due to expiration of warranty.i believe that this is wrong and would like to take it to another level of customer service.

The brake pedal had became hard and wouldn't go down when depressed.the consumer coasted the vehicleinto the driveway and engaged the parking brake to stop.the vehicle was towed to thedealer, and the mechanic performed a diagnostic test that indicated that the hydraulic brake pump motor assemblymalfunctioned.also, there was recall 96v099000 concerning anti skid brake system.however, the dealership indicated that this recall had already been performed.the remedy failed, and the manufacturer was not honoring the warranty as stated in the recall, and were not sending the recall part to the dealership because thedealership was unable to get a diagnostic test code indicating that the recall part failed, althoughthe dealership duplicated the problem , and indicated thatthe recall part was causing the problem.(the second consumer:tara beth) *sc

1992 dodgeplymouth grand voyager lethe steering wheel broke up under the van while i was driving, causing me to crash into some one else vehicle.

A grinding noise was heard when the steering wheel was turned. Upon investigation, i notice the rack and pinion was moving. When i tried to tighten the bolt it snapped with little tension. Looking at the bolt you can see the bolt was shearing. The bolt is approximately 10mm. It had sheared to about 2mm which snapped when i tried to tighten.

I was making a slow 90 degree turn to the right onto a driveway which was approximately 12 " lower than the road i was on. As my right wheel dropped off onto the driveway, we heard a sharp cracking noise. Shortly thereafter, i noticed that the steering was stiff when turning to the right. It was the next day, sunday, when as i turned to the right, we lost all our power steering fluid with a gush as the power steering pump blew its front mainseal due to overpressuring from the broken rack and pinion. The rack and pinion mainshaft was completely severed, it actually tore off its welded bracket on one side and the hydraulic cylinder which was a component of the system, bound up and blew out both seals. The mechanic indicated that this lead to the overpressure of the power steering system which resulted in the pump blowing its mainseal. He also said he felt that the design of the system(ie. Not having both sides of the rack and pinion in hard mounts)was at least a partial cause. Additionally, the mechanic indicated that the rebuilder to whom this was to be sent had seen about 10 others like this previously. Had atotal cost of repair was almost $1,000.00

While driving at approximately 40 mph, the spare tire fell from under the van.

The sliding door fell off the vehicle which almost injured the occupant.dealer replaced track, but problem is still occurring in which the sliding door won't shut properly while driving.

Inside of door is coming apart from the outside of the door.

The weld that holds the front right side door together failed, causing the door to sag, and also the latch does not work.

The welds are broken on the front passenger side door which can cause misalignment of the door not allowing the door to close properly.please give more information.

I have given up on the dealer, van has had trans replaced,cv joints,ac compressor, and many more items fall apart, no one can find a reason for front hitting ground over potholes, replaced shocks and struts didn't fix widowed mom with 3 youngsters can you do anything to help--still owe $$$on this piece.

The passenger door was misaligned due to improper welding.

The welds are broken on the front passenger side door which can cause misalignment of the door not allowing the door to close properly.please give more information.

Bolt sheared off of the strut holding the rear door.

Side passenger's sliding door came off hinge. Please describe.

While driving and making a left turn passenger's door opened, which was caused by a malfunction in hinches that were never welded.

Fatigue of the door hinge causes it to not be alligned any longer.this is absurd.they want $300 per door to fix it.

Passenger'sdoor hinge assembly weld is breaking and starting to rust.

I was parked on a hill.my eight year old daugher opened the sliding passenger door.it slid open fast and came off the track.the rear part of the door hit the concrete on the driveway.the front part of the door stayed attached.my neighbor held the door while i backed down the driveway.we could not get the door closed nor would it completely come off the track.i called the koons body shop.some mechanics came, took the door off and then somehow reattached it.if someone had been standing where the sliding door landed a serious injury would have resulted.the manufacturer assumed no responsibility for the problem.i am sure it is some kind of defect in the door.i had to pay for the repair myself.i appealed all the way to the arbitration board but the company would take no responsibility at all since i was past the 12-month warranty period. I think this problem occurred with some frequency with this vehicle since the body shop repairman was very familiar with the problem.i am also having some problems currently (2/27/99) with the right passenger door which is out of alignment and an independent repairman has confirmed that he sees this quite often.i do not think door structures on the body of this car are well made and i believe they may pose some safety hazard.
