We are the second owners of this vehicle. Based on all service records the transmission in this vehicle has been repairedtwice, and is now broken again. Each time there is a problem it seems to be almost exactly two years later. In the 2nd instance it was 1 yr and 3 months after repair that the transmission required major work again. It appears from the testimony of many other owners of the same vehicle that this problem is widespread and should be considered a flaw in the design of the transmission. We are overall quite happy with this vehicle however this type or re-occuring problem is absolutely unacceptable, especially considering the time frame. We intend to seek assistance and/or compensation with regards to this re-occuring problem. Any additional information on this subject would be greatly appreciated.

I was driving plymouth grand voyager 1991 when its transmission broke down on i95, near washington dc. I luckily parked it on left shoulder. The transmission breakdown is a serious design fault in plymouth vans and it is major safety concern for all of us. So i like to know that if this complain will be heard and i will be notified for the outcome. Thanks.

I also know atleast 3 owners that have had the same problem. This part at one time were on back order by 950 parts. My van is not operational and i feel i should not have to purshase another and pay the labor to have it replaced because the manufacturer won't take responsibility for the defect.

Antilock brakes failed prior to recall.(attorney of client)

Nhtsa issued a recall for grand voyager minivans manufactured between 07/1990 and 06/1993 to have the brake actuator piston assembly and the pump-motor assembly to be replaced for lifetime coverage.nhtsa issued the recall on 06/18/1996. The nhtsa campaign id number is 96v099000. I contacted chrysler on 4/23/2002 to discuss the recall. Chrysler claims that that recall affected grand voyager vans produced before mine was produced and after mine was produced. I find this excuse absurd. My vehicle clearly has the same defective parts. My pump-motor continually runs and has an air leak so bad you can hear it. I did not learn about the recall until yesterday when some friends of mine informed me that chrysler replaced their pumps at no cost for having the same problems as mine. Chrysler clearly installed defective brake parts in m y van.
