I had purchased a used 2011 vespa 150 lxie on 4/1/14.after i made a trip to my local market i went to start my bike on 4/15/14 and my scooter would not start.i had some big concerns and i called my local vespa dealer who is an authorized vespa dealer and told them about my problem starting the bike and they said for me to give me the vin number and then they told me that usa vespa/piaggio had issued a voluntary recall for fuel pumps produced that year for my bike.i am happy that the company issued a voluntary recall but i still think the nhtsa should had issued a mandatory recall for the bad part.this would give other us citizens who own this bike year/model knowledge that there is a serious issue with the bike.here is a list of other bikes with the same problem.2011 lx 150ie2011 lxv 150ie2011 s 150ie2010 300 super 2010 gts300 2008-2010 gts 2502008-2010 250 super2008-2010 gtv 250 other piaggio models on the recall list2009-2010 bv 250 tourer 2009-2010 bv 300 tourer2009-2010 mp3 250please tell me by the department of transportation did not issue a recall on the fuel pump problem.thank you.
