Multiple occurrences of fuel pump/electrical failure. Dealer replaces part only to have the new part fail, resulting in the engine shutting off while accelerating. Has left me stranded on extremely busy roadways. Scooter has less than 70 miles on it. Seems to run 'hot' as blower fan is constantly running.

Failed fuel pump and fuel injector on vespa model gts250. Only able to repair problem with another of the same exact part, destined to fail again. Vespa and dealer knew of this problem at time of purchase and deliberately did not mention it to me.scooter is only 1 yr. Old with less than 1k miles. Vespa does not even sell these anymore due to this defect.

My 2009vespa 250 gtv ie has 5000 miles on it. In the past 1000 miles the scooter has failed to restart on five occasions after it had beendriven 40-50 miles. When i turned off the ignition it would not restart for almost exactly one hour.then it started right up. The first four times it occurred it was very inconvenient. The last time it was scary. The scooter stalled and would not restart and i was stranded for 1 hour in the dark in a rural area with no lighting 20 miles from home waiting for a tow-truck to respond. The scooter is now in for repair. My mechanic told methat piaggio has told him to replace the fuel pump "they have had problems with it." i'm expecting a $400 bill plus the cost of two tow jobs. Seems like a recall is in order.

Fuel pump that is located in the fuel tank overheats and shuts off.this happens most times on a trip that is over 30 miles.i understand from the dealer that he is trying to get the fuel pump replaced.have not got a firm commitment yet.i am very concerned having an electrical component in the fuel tank that malfunctions.

4,000 miles of no-worry riding, then one morning the engine will not stay running. A $75 tow to the shop and a $500 repair bill.
