Vespa gts250ie stalled 3 times on 3 different dates.the vehicle was not in motion and would not restart until the engine had cooled down for at least an hour.problem was due to a faulty fuel pump.
Faulty fuel pump on a vespa gts 250. I have had to replace the fuel pump 2x within owning the scooter since new. It is a faulty design.
I bought a new vespa gts 250 motor scooter in december, 2009. It now has 1900 miles on it. In the past two months, i have had what appears to be three fuel pump failures. I tried to start the scooter, and there is no whirring sound that would indicate the fuel pump starting up. It will eventually start, but i understand from other owners of the same model that this indicates the beginning of a total fuel pump failure. Vespa has had this problem with fuel pumps for gts 250 and 300 models. They will replace them, but this is apparently the fault of a pump from an outside supplier, and they cannot provide a replacement pump that does not have this potential problem.
Riding brand new 2009 piaggio vespa gts 250. Scooter has 280 miles on it. Without warning in atlanta traffic, vehicle stalled while turning across busy intersection and would not restart. I was almost killed as the vehicle died half-way through my turn across oncoming traffic because of a defective fuel pump. Piaggio u.s. Has acknowledged that there is a problem with the fuel pumps, but has not issued a recall. Please help!
Brand new (2009) piaggio vespa gts 250 stalled without warning on 6 lane highway (i-75) in atlanta and would not re-start or run causing myself and my passenger to be at high risk of being over run by oncoming traffic. As it turns out, there is a chronic defect in the fuel pumps on this model motor scooter, but the manufacturer hasn't recalled it. Thousands of these units are affected. I will enter a second complaint for my second piaggio vespa gts 250, which did the same thing as this one on saturday, but with only 280 miles since new on the odometer. Again, my partner and i were almost killed when the fuel pump failed.
Fuel pump fault on vespa gts 250 2009. Engine stops while driving in heavy traffic. Engine doesn't start until it cool down. Does it every time ( 6 x ) i went out. Only 500 km and fuel pump making noise for 20 minutes when stop (no key in).
When driving my 2009 vespa 250 gts on a hot day fuel pump gets hot and the vespa acts like it ran out of gas.took it to the dealer and the fuel pump was replaced at a cost of $495.00i was stranded 3 times on the side of a busy highway.
Scooter runs until turned off then will not start. 2009 vespa gts250 with 356 miles. Every time bike is ridden problem occurs. Fuel pump was replaced under warranty, told it was a known problem. Do not have old part.
Failure of fuel pump.the consumer stated the fuel pump caused the engine stop. The consumer stated he has been stranded on at least six occasions.updated ivoq 12/03/10.
