Piaggio bv500 throttle cable freezes when temperature is below 30 degrees. The cable may get stuck in the open position(full or partial speed) while moving shortly after moving the bike. I have waited 15-20 minutes for the cable to defrost as it is above the radiator, and driven a few blocks and the cable refroze as the wind cooled off the cable. Very dangerous! be careful out there.
This is for a 2007 piaggio bv500 scooter. The scooter has a tendency to stall at idle or low speeds. I believe that this is a common problem related to the fuel pump. It is creating a very dangerous situation when merging into traffic. I had a very close call where the scooter stalled while merging into traffic. Fortunately, i was able to stop the vehicle before entering the road.
