The passenger side air bag was sitting up and away from the dash board.the consumer was able to see the air bag through the gap in the panel.the dealer was willing to repair the problem at a cost to the consumer.the manufacturer is aware of the problem.

The contact owned a 2001 oldsmobile intrigue. While driving 35 mph, the vehicle struck a bump in the road. The contact lost all steering control and crashed into a tree. The air bags did not deploy. A police report was filed. The contact sustained back injuries, which required medical attention. The vehicle was destroyed and towed. The manufacturer was not made aware of the crash. The failure mileage was unknown.

Two car crashes - one at ~35mph colliding with a tree (in late 2006) nearly head-on and a second (january 21st, 2008) at ~65mph colliding with an interstate guard rail also nearly head-on - neither of which triggered a deployment of the air bags of the vehicle.the electrical system of the vehicle is questionable as the car experienced flashes of the headlights, temporary failure of the interior lights, and other electrical issues before the most recent accident.

Driving anywhere day or night at any given speed, radio goes in and out, turn signal work on and off at random moments, headlights will dim for no reason, interior dash lights dim for no reason. Also will occasionally cause car to stall for no reason. Have been pulled over by law enforcement several times and warned about not using turn signals when i did, but car has never worked properly. I inform them of the complaints i have repeatedly made to gm to resolve and have been repeatedly ignored by gm. I usually am let off with warning. There are thousands of complaints online about this very issue and yet nothing has been done to resolve it. It is a safety hazard and eventually will lead to an accident due to gm not taking responsibility for their defects. It also affects exterior lighting. Heated seats button goes in and out with these same problems and air bags do not work at all.

Consumer noticed that while traveling down hill at 40-45 mph brakes failed, causing consumer to run into threes and a pole. Upon impact, air bags did not deploy.

The contact owns a 2001 oldsmobile intrigue. The contact stated that while driving 10 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The technician diagnosed that the ignition switch was defective and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was 49,358 and the current mileage was unknown.

Clunking noise in steering column; headlights dim on a whim; blinkers work when they feel like it; hazard lights fail intermittently; driver's electric window locks up in the closed position intermittently and last be not least transmission whines and clucks when shifting gears--intermittently of course.on going for last 3 years.

The contact owns a 2001 oldsmobile intrigue. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled multiple times intermittently while traveling various speeds. The steering wheel was extremely difficult to handle when attempting to make a left or right turn. The key had to be pushedinto the ignition due to the fact that the key was not fully secured into the ignition and was also difficult to insert. The contact had to shake and apply force in order to push the key in the ignition when the vehicle stalled. The service engine sensor light illuminated intermittently on numerous occasions. The vehicle was towed to a repair shop where a mechanic diagnosed that the ignition switch needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 200,000.

Directional light on front driver's side keeps needing to be replaced after 2 weeks of use and loud and repeating clicking noise accompanies occurs when trying to use after this malfunction occurs.

While driving the vehicle approaching a turn, the vehicle goes dead and completely blacks out.the vehicle is operating perfectly prior to all electrical current begin cut from the car, this happens with no warning. It has been diagnosed with a bad electronic ignition switch which is cutting all power to the vehicle. Obviously with out a running engine, the power brakes and steering are gone too.i have to assume since there is no power to the vehicle that the airbags would also not function correctly.

The contact owns a 2001 oldsmobile intrigue.the contact stated that the alternator and battery had been replaced several times.when he activated the air conditioner, the vehicle would shut off.when the contact stopped at a sign or slowed down from 45 mph, the vehicle completely shut down.the power steering and brakes failed.the vehicle was able to be restarted within a short amount of time after the failure.prior to the failure, the engine light remained illuminated 90% of the time.he took the vehicle to the dealer numerous times and they replaced the spark plugs, battery, and alternator; however, the failure persisted.the current mileage was approximately 100,000 and failure mileage was approximately 32,000.

The contact owns a 2001 oldsmobile intrigue. While driving approximately 35 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact mentioned that the failure recurred after the vehicle was serviced under nhtsa campaign number: 14v400000 (electrical system). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 170,000. The vin was not available.

In the past few years, my 2001 olds intrigue has been having numerous issues. At first, i thought it may just be my car, but after much research, i'm finding that all of these things are also happening to many others. The first thing that i noticed was the random dimming of my headlights while driving. I have checked my lights, battery cables, and alternator. All are fine. The next issue is that my blinkers sometimes work and sometimes don't. This is very disconcerting and most dangerous when taking my child to and from school, when streets are busy and signals are necessary! thirdly, about 3/4 of the time while stopped, my car idles very high! i assume this may be due to the fact that my traction control, service engine soon, and service vehicle soon lights are all on. All have been checked and i've been told that it's a wiring issue that is common in intrigues. Last but not least, it has become a rather consistant problem that my car doesn't want to start. Sometimes it starts up just fine, but ususally i have to try 2-4 times. I turn off all electronic components under my control, in my car prior starting, but it doesn't make a difference. As my research has shown this may be due to a faulty igniton switch. Many other gm makes and models have had recalls and complaints on all of these issues, yet nothing has been done for this particular model. Safety should be the number one concern here, but obviously it is not. Why do some cars get recalls and others not, when they have the same problems with the same parts used? it doesn't quite add up. Please gm, take care of your cars and drivers, and make sure that everyone in your hands is safe on the road!! that is afterall, your responsibility!!!!

The contact owns a 2001 oldsmobile intrigue. While driving 35 mph, all the instrument panel gauges started to fluctuate and the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was taken to a dealer. The technician diagnosed that the ignition switch needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 65,854.

Takata recall- while the car is in motion it will simply stop, nothing will work. It must be restarted to resume and continue. It may not drive for long though.it does not happen all the time but it seems that this is very dangerous .at times the power will shut off momentarily but the car will continue driving.the lights will dim while driving, also. On one occasion the car would not start until the third crank of the key.this has happened on busy streets with my new 17 year old driver at the wheel. I will be calling a dealer soon. They have to feel some responsibility.i pray no one gets hurt due to this issue.

Anti lock brake light came on. Service engine soon light came on. Oil low light came on.traction control light came on and switch inoperative.heater/defroster fan switch inoperative.interior/exterior air switch inoperable.air bag light came on.it was raining.the next morning when car was started all lights were off and car seemed ok.mechanic used scanner and found no error codes.on line search indicated that is could be do to ignition switch.thus, i think the recalls for this switch should be expanded.

Turn signal failure on a daily basis. I drive on a highway 80 miles a day. The turn signals may blink rapidly, normally, or not work at all. This can all occur within a few miles. However, when i took them to a repair shop, they could not duplicate the problem. This has been going on for over a year. I have also had to replace the air pump that pumps air into the emissions system twice, and it is still having problems. The car runs fine, but the engine light is on all the time. I also have the problem with the dimming lights which is caused by the air pump switching on and off.

The contact owns a 2001 oldsmobile intrigue.while driving 35 mph, the vehicle continuously stalls and hesitates.in addition, the instrument panel indicators would illuminate at random.the vehicle failed inspection and the crankshaft sensor was replaced, which helped with the stalling and hesitation; however, the check engine indicator was still illuminated.days after the crankshaft sensor was replaced, the vehicle failed to start.however, all of the instrument panel indicators flashed on and off.after numerous attempts to start the vehicle, he had it jumpstarted.the vehicle was then able to start.while driving home, all of the lighting flashed and the vehicle suddenly shut off.the vehicle lost all electrical power and power steering ability.the contact managed to park the vehicle in a parking lot and had it towed the following day to a repair shop.the vehicle is currently still in the shop.the vehicle has been recalled in canada and he believes that it should also be recalled in the united states.the failure mileage was unknown and the current mileage was 106,000.

The electrical connection within my turn signals is erratic.one moment the turn signal works, the next moment it doesn't.this makes for a difficult commute.there is a current safety recall pertaining to vehicles made by gm during the time that my vehicle was built but my vehicle isn't covered under the recall, despite the fact that the vehicle is suffering from the same problems as the gm vehicles included in the safety recall.the recall states that there was faulty soddering at fault in the case of the electrical issues.i have attached the url for the recall:http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/problems/defect/results.cfm?action_number=ea02037&searchtype=quicksearch&summary=truethank you

Passlock system fails and does not allow vehicle to start until a 10 - 30 minute "reset" has been completed, which is only a temporary fix since the problem will recur.

Without warning headlights flicker a few times, resulting in headlights dimming while driving at night.dealer has replaced alternator, which temporarily fixed problem but problem has resurfaced with same regularity as before.*nlm

The interior/exterior lights flickered. They continued to go dim and then illuminated. The dealership serviced the vehicle 7 timesbut was unable to fix the problem.

Ignition problems, car randomly turns off, dash lights don't work, heat randomly works.

We have and oldsmobile intrigue 2001 was purchased in 2002.it was only used as dealer car.since buying it we have had problems with dimming headlights intermittent, turn signals work when they want, brakes that grind and pulsate, vibration from right front side.we have had rotors replaced, tie rods, brake pads, still nothing works the dealer tells me there are no recalls on these items.we also had a problem with the secondary air pump we replaced it not a few weeks later it went out again. We have had no success with this cars problems.

Takata recall while driving my lights were dimming while driving on the highway. My car cut off on me twice. The first time it cut off while i was driving and the second time it cut off while i was at a traffic light. Sometime the car won't start. After the third or forth attempt the car will start. My gas pedal is sticking now this just start happening.sometimes i have a time trying to put the windows down.i have to jiggle with the switch a few times in order for the window on driver side to go down. I hadtwo crank sensors and one cam sensor put on my vehicle. I am still having issues with the vehicle. I had the vehicle thoroughly checked by a mechanic and i was told that it was an electrical issue this is a safety issue.

1. Loose dashboard causing passenger seat airbag to rattle and the cover to lift above the dashboard. This could lead to deployment at anytime of the airbag.2. Turning signal fails to blink on exterior lights when engaged, usually about twice a day. This could lead to me getting a ticket or into an accident in which case the airbag would still be an issue.3. Headlights and interior lights flicker and dim at night.4. The transmission jumps at certain times, usually when the car is just started and instantly put into gear.there has been no action to fix the air bag, lights or transmission. The turning signal, however, i have checked the wiring for burns and other problems but have found none.

Shortly after 36,000 miles, vehicle began stalling intermittently, pcs, abs, ses lights would come one & stay on.stalling became more and frequent until it began occurring everytime within 120 seconds of cold start (over course of 2,000 -4,000 more miles.nearly got broadsided by cement truck when vehicle stalled unexpectedly (after already doing its traditional first stall after cold start).dealer diagnosed and replaced crank sensor.gm would only pay for part and i was left with diagnosis and labor bill.dealer would not provide me with defective part.claimed it belonged to gm.on electrical problem, battery would run down after car left sitting for 3-4 days in cold weather.would recharge battery and it would be ok.could not find cause, then finally at about 25,000 miles, battery went bad & would not recharge.dealer/gm replaced at no cost to me.however, problem continued.then one evening i noticed that the vanity lights on the sunvisor mirror were illuminated even when sunvisor was completely stowed.turns out the switch button is not depressing fully to disengage power switch to vanity lamp(s). Dealer would not repair --out of warranty.

Headlightsare intermittently going off.dealer replacedalternator twice, buit problem still exists.please providevin/mileage, and any additional information.

Headlights flickered off and on, would not stay on at night. Had at least one flash (off then on within one second period) every time i drove in the dark. One time it flashed continuously.affected all electrical components.i notified dealer and also called oldsmobile.dealer replaced the alternator, said the problem was due to low voltage when an air pump near the alternator turned on.

Alternator was replaced three times, due to the blower motor slowing down at night while driving.

Dealer replaced alternator twice, problem is less but still present.

2001 oldsmobile intrigue horn failed to operate. The consumer stated it is hard to locate the horn when needed. The consumers vehicle was hit in the fender. The consumer stated the accident probably could have been avoided had he been able to locate the horn.

Horn only operates if steering wheel is pointed between about 10:00 and 2:00.horn does not operate in other steering wheel positions.

The contact owns a 2001 oldsmobile intrigue. While driving approximately 35 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who stated that the ignition switch needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 70,620.

2001 oldsmobile intrigue that stopped in the middle of the road**ccthe problem was determined to be a faulty starter switch assembly.

1) headlights flicker on and off and create a road hazard especially when driving in snow and rain.oncoming traffic often flash bright lights at you because they feel you are flashing at them.2) steering has clunking in it and has been to the dealership several times for repair.the dealership often tells me they can't find anything wrong or can't duplicate the problem though everyone who drives my car or rides in it can feel the shaking in the front end and see the steering wheel vibrating.it still has this problem and now that the warranty is off i am expected to pay for the parts and labor to fix an ongoing problem.i don't feel i should have to pay for this repair.it has become a matter of safety to me.3) transmission often hesitates when stepping on the gas peddle.i had the car checked and cleaned and still the problem exists.when taken to the dealership all i get is "we can't duplicate the problem" so therefore it must not exist.i know when it is going to start having problems as it gets a high pitched whine like when the steering pump is going out. 4) i am having problems getting car to start or stay running.it acts like it is not getting gas.previous experience has taught me that since the problem is intermittent, it is not likely to be duplicated at the dealership.this has started occurring with the transmission problem.

Headlight problems on intrigues are due to wiring that has become dried up and is cracking off thereby creating shorts inside the headlight/turn signal assembly. Repair will require new headlight assembly wiring harness.

Ongoing intermittent flickering/loss of headlights and interior lights.loud vibrating sound of brakes at every startup.

While driving headlights clickrd off and on.

Dashlights and headlights dim as alternator engagues.it is more frequent with increased electrical load.it is like a home which has not been wired properly and when a heavy user of electricy comes on line the lights dim.am concerned about lights going out or possible fire.

Headlightsare intermittently going off.dealer replacedalternator twice, buit problem still exists.please providevin/mileage, and any additional information.

When turning on the exterior lights interior switches on the dashboard console overheated. Vehicle was taken to the dealer, who informed the consumer there was no solution for this problem.

Transmission failure on city street

Fraudulent vehicle inspection & emissions done on a regarding 2001 oldsmobile intrigue, purchase date, march 17, 2014. I have been back and forth between their approved shops and my usual mechanic taking an excessive time from work to try to get the repairs done. The car was found to have an issue withthe fuel distribution, the front turn signals aren't firing which will require a replacement headlight assembly, and i was also told that the gas gauge sensor may need to be replaced. The oil light & check engine lights are also on. All these things i was assured would be repaired by [xxx], the salesperson. He stated the inspection facility, pa station id#[xxx], has been sendingthe vehicles to them partially inspected and they are aware of the issue. This vehicle "inspection" was on 3/4/14,and i believe this shop, and others like it, are knowingly defrauding consumers of this establishment.'parts of this document have been redacted to protect personally identifiable information pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).'

I own a 2001 oldsmobile intrigue.the power steering and transmission was defective. On march 15, 2004, i paid for the replacement of the rack & pinion gear spoke valve for a cost of $758.69.on march 15, 2004, i paid for the replacement of valves pressure control solenoid and clearing the adapt cells for a cost of $758.55. On march 15, 2004, i also paid for the replacement of an inoperable crank sensor for the cost of $292.60.

The consumer stated the upper and lower gaskets seals on the cooling system failed. The consumer had to add more coolant than normal.

Computer, emission and fuel they said it was a emission sensor and it does not work check engine light is still on after 150 miles, power window on driver just went out, transmission went out general motors good faith i only paid $625. Suspension they replace both outer tie rods. Had to pay for new alignment. Steering nut was fixed the day i test drove the car .

Under normal driving conditions, check engine light came on. Malfunction determined to be service code 410, related to a.i.r. Pump, pump replaced with modification kit but problem still persists. Unable to get vehicle inspected due to problem. Old parts are available.

Engine code 410 and aprox 3 not ready codes, causing auto to fail inspection. No repairs. Engine light illuminated while driving.

Turn signal failure on a daily basis. I drive on a highway 80 miles a day. The turn signals may blink rapidly, normally, or not work at all. This can all occur within a few miles. P0410 code: haven't been able to get this vehicle inspected in 2 years. Replaced a.i.r. Pump and alternator to no avail. Cleared code but always comes back after 50 miles of driving. Seems to be a false p0410 code since pump is actually functioning and going through startup tests when vehicle first started. Skeptical about taking vehicle to gm dealerships. There's always seem to be another "failure" after you drive from dealerships.

2001 oldsmobile intrigue check engine light appeared with a computer check it was confirmed that it was a broken air pump that may have water inside it.

The headlights flickered while driving at night. This problems caused the cruise control to deactivate by itself while engaged, and turned off the air conditioner or the heater when operating. Vehicle had been to the dealer on four separate occasions. The dealerreplaced several parts, andproblem recurred.

Computer, emission and fuel they said it was a emission sensor and it does not work check engine light is still on after 150 miles, power window on driver just went out, transmission went out general motors good faith i only paid $625. I purchased a 2001 oldsmobile intrigue used in february 2004.after using the hazard lights in august 2004, there have been problems with both the turn signals and the hazard lights.the hazard lights will not work at all anymore without continuously holding the button in manually.the turn signals work intermittently.they will work fine for a while, and then completely stop.this occurs on almost a daily basis.the only way to correct it is to repeatedly press the hazard light switch over and over which confuses other drivers and takes attention away from the road.this is a major hazard when trying to turn from busy streets.we have been trying to find a new hazard switch for the vehicle.

Directional light on front driver's side keeps needing to be replaced after 2 weeks of use and loud and repeating clicking noise accompanies occurs when trying to use after this malfunction occurs.

The directional signals and or hazard lights do not work.it is not a continuous thing but a sporadic.i can be driving down the street go to turn on my directional (either left or right) and it will not work.i can then get to my next turn and they might work.it has been doing this sporadically for a couple of years now and checked to see if there was any kind of recall for this.i found a recall back in2003 & 2004 for the oldsmobile alero, grand am and malibu, but not for the oldsmobile intrigue.i was wondering if there are other complaints for the oldsmobile intrigue having this failure.the last incident was sept. 12, 2008.before that date i never kept track, but now am tired of the signals not working properly. I wait for the day the signals do not work and cause a major accident because someone thinks that i am going straight at an intersection and am actually intending on turning.

I own a 2001 oldsmobile intrigue and i am experiencing a familiar problem with my turn signals as described in nhtsa action number ea02037.i have investigated this problem via oldsmobile owner forums on the internet and have seen other owners of the intrigue having the same problem.i am interested to know why gm didn't issue a recall to repair/replace these electrical problems on these vehicles as well as the ones listed on the nhtsa action number?

Headlights would intermittently get severely dim and causepoor visibility while driving at night. Dealer contacted. Feel free to provide any further information.

Headlights flicker randomly at night.typicall number of flickers per minute is 3.took vehicle to dealer, they were unable to diagnose and fix problem.

Consumer stated that while driving the headlights intermittenly dim themselves resulting in poor visibility when needed. Mr

Headlights cut off or dim down without warning while vehicle is being driven.sometimes the lights stay out for about 5 to 10 seconds.dealer has seen vehicle 9 times, and problem still exists. *jg

Without warning headlights have a constant flicker, resulting in headlightsdimming while drivng at night.

While driving at night, consumer states headlights dim and flicker, consumer was informed that it is caused by the air pump engaging and that is a normal condition, as of august 1, 2001 problem still exists.

Headlights/interior lights dim intermittently. Same problem i had with 2000 intrigue-gm replaced

Lights flicker off and or dim while driving at night. Brought car to dealer, but they were unable to diagnose the problem.this should be corrected by gm.it is a serious safety problem.

Headlights flicker - under certain circumstances(more often in cold weather) the headlights on the car "flicker" as if i were flashing my high beams or turn my lights off and back on again.doesn't really sound like a big issue....right.well, that's what i thought after the dealer refused to continue to replace alternators in my car because this was a "known issue" with oldsmobile.if you search on google or any other search engine you can find thousands and thousands of people with the same issue.back to the safety issue...i didn't think it was a big deal when the deal told me they wouldn't try to fix it anymore, big deal - my headlights flicker.it wasn't a big deal until last week when driving along and a car was waiting to pull out on the 55 mph road i was traveling on.just then, my headlights decided it was time to flicker and the car thought i was signaling for them to pull out in front of me.i barely had time to slow down and had to pull somewhat off the road to avoid hitting them.with my one year old daughter in the car, i decided i am going to see what i can do about getting this issue fixed.

Headlights and interior lights dim frequently, no dealer fix to the problem as of now. This creates a safety problem while driving at night.

Clunking in steering wheel, fixed more than once. Was told it was a known problem but would only replace on the third complaint, at which time car was out of warranty. Also headlights will dim and strengthen at night.

The headlights flicker/dim with no apparent strain on the system by other sources. Our warranty work has been done at biddulph arrowhead, peoria az 623-933-3900 as it is closer than the selling dealer. They have replaced the alternator 3 times with no positive results. It is annoying and distracting to the driver & oncoming traffic. Please contact them!

The headlights on the vehicle flicker on and off without warning. The dealer states, " there is no fix". Please provide additional information.*ph

Headlights and interior lights flicker and sometimes go out for 1 sec or more. I feel this is a safty issue. When driving at night. The alternator has been replaced several times. The dealer is aware of service bulletin 01-06-03-001a that was issued by gm for this problem, but the problem still exists. Does someone need to be killed before something is done. This is clearly a design flaw that shoud be corrected by gm.dt

I have almost had my car a whole 2 weeks .i have noticed the lights, dash and head lights, flickering.i called dealership i purchased the car from, and all i got was a guy that told me it was in the intrigues nature to do that .the flickering is happening when the air pump is cycling on and off he said, again, its just in the intrigues nature.in its nature or not its not safe !i have a 4 year old and i can't avoid driving at night just because a car has a defect !and to top it off no one wants to do anything about it !!

Headlights will flicker on and off, and at times will dim while the consumer is driving. Contacted dealer, and the dealer was not willing to do anything.*jg

The headlights dim and then return to the normal brightness on my 2001 oldsmobile intrigue. The problem occurs whether the lights are on dim or bright.other lights inside the car are not affected; the problem is only with the headlights.it's almost as if they are going to flash off for a second, but it's more of a dimming action.it's frustration though, because on-coming traffic flashes their headlights on bright because they think you are doing the same to them.gm needs to provide a fix to this problem before this headlight problem causes someone to be the victim of road rage. *la

The headlights flickered while driving at night. This problems caused the cruise control to deactivate by itself while engaged, and turned off the air conditioner or the heater when operating. Vehicle had been to the dealer on four separate occasions. The dealerreplaced several parts, andproblem recurred.

For the last 2 years i have driven the car the turn signals will not work properly.some times they will flash rapidly like i need to replace a bulb.however, more and more they just don't work at all.they will work most of the time when i first turn on the car in the morning, after that it is hit or miss.they use to work more often than not, and now they work less than they don't.i have taken it for service and found nothing wrong.i have cleaned/replaced the fuse (no.8) in the engine compartment and cleaned the terminal.i have replaced every bulb.i had a '99 olds delta 88 that did the same thing before i traded it.this is very dangerous, especially if turning in front of another car at a stop sign.i have to use hand signals and many younger drivers have no idea what they mean. This is a family owned vehicle.i purchased it from my mother after driving it for about a year.she purchased it new from the dealership.

Intermittently while driving at any speedturn signal and hazard lights didnot work properly.the problem has occurred six times in the last four months.

My left and right turn signals malfunction. They work sometimes intermittently and then total failure.

When turning a corner with the turns signal activated, sometimesthey did not come on.the hazard lights also may or may not come on.the dealer has been contacted.*ph the consumer stated sometime the turn signals would work for a week and never fail.

Dashlights and headlights dim as alternator engagues.it is more frequent with increased electrical load.it is like a home which has not been wired properly and when a heavy user of electricy comes on line the lights dim.am concerned about lights going out or possible fire.

Headlights and interior lights dim frequently, no dealer fix to the problem as of now. This creates a safety problem while driving at night.

Headlights/interior lights dim intermittently. Same problem i had with 2000 intrigue-gm replaced

Automatic transmission 4t65-e had to be rebuilt with only 70k miles in 14 years of very moderatedriving, which averages out 5000 miles per year.cost of rebuild was $1500.00.

While driving and with no warning consumer will try to putvehicle in reverse, andvehicle will not accelerate, even when foot is onaccelerator pedal. Dealer notified.

Transmission was not responding when i would try to accelerate, after a few seconds it would slam into gear.after a few times of this the transmission started to slip when changing gears.i first replaced the filter and fluid and noticed large chunks of steel in the filter tray.i took it to the dealer, and they said it just need to be cleaned.it continued, so i then took it to a transmission shop and found the pinion gear had broke and therefore caused my gears to be striped.cost to me was 2100.00 and i was told by the mechanic they have actually done transmission work for my car dealer and this was one of several olds. With low mileage that this had happened to.

While driving at any speed and with no warningtransmission will jerk, making a loud noise when vehicle is changing gears. Dealer notified.

Transmission failure.

Hestitant to shift from low gear. Know design problem with material (aluminum) of the valve body wearing out and they use sw to correct for wear and tear then come sto the point were the sw cannot compenstate for the poil bypassing the valve any more resulting in multiple internal failures of clecuthes and carriage assemby with cracked and broken parts.the manufacture only wanted to repalce the transmission with a rebuit unit withthe same components as the original setting up another failure. Lucky the problem did not casue an accident as if the parts let lose any more it would have jammed up while driving. I am having a independat rebuildngof the unit with upgraded parts.

Stopped at an intersection when i pressed the and accellerator, the vehicle transmission did not respond.then it lurched as if the gear finally caught.within 2 minutes after the first sign of this, i stopped in a parking lot and tried to reverse and the vehicle did not move.again, it lurched after a second or two.also, when i started the vehicle, it made a crunching sound and now the engine rattles. Transmission failure.gear teeth in transmission pan at 42,000 miles. Estimated cost of repair:$1800-2400 and 5 days without a vechicle.

When consumer was attempting to park the vehicle, the button on the shift lever of the automatic transaxle fell off.

The button on the shifter used to take the transmission out of park broke off and fell on the floor. It was difficult to put it back to operate the car. It did not receive any excessive use. The car only has a little over 56,000 on it.

Consumer noticed that while traveling down hill at 40-45 mph brakes failed, causing consumer to run into threes and a pole. Upon impact, air bags did not deploy.

Ongoing intermittent flickering/loss of headlights and interior lights.loud vibrating sound of brakes at every startup.

When first backing away, consumer states brakes drag and rub, consumer was informed that is normal brake noise.

Brakes pulsate when stopping - was told rotors were warped.

I ran up a curb to avoid rear-ending a vehicle and a part called the power steering cooler hose (gmpart # 26074657) was damaged, causing the loss of the power steering fluid and therefore the loss of power steering.this part is no longer available from gm,the part is flimsyly installed with retainers that do not secure the hose properly.over time the hose could dismount from the retainers and anything that hits it could cause a loss of power steering.at the moment an otherwise good vehicle is disabled due to the lack of this part.can you help?

Clunking in steering wheel, fixed more than once. Was told it was a known problem but would only replace on the third complaint, at which time car was out of warranty. Also headlights will dim and strengthen at night.

2001 oldsmobile intrigue exhibits clunking and poping sounds when turning at slow speeds. Seems to come from the steering/supension system. The car has about 50,000 mi. On odometer.
