Airbag deployed while traveling down a road with no notice and no incident leading to the forementioneddeployment. Stunned and confused-driver could not see and applied brakes and turned steering wheel to left to avoid oncoming traffic.

I had an accident a few months ago and my airbag light was blinking, but didn't deploy. Now i am afraid it will deploy while i'm driving.

On friday 10/6/2000 while my sister driving the car, the airbag light in the dashboard comes on with no reason. My sister then desided to take it to the oldsmobile dealership the next morning.the next day, while starting the car, the airbag deployed in her face.i took the car to arnold palmer oldsmobile in charlotte.the service department told me they will check on any recalls by the manufacture.after ten days, they told me there is no recall and the problem was from the horn modula.i think thy did not want to blame it on the manufacture. I would like an answer rather than a cover up.

Dt: the drivers side air bag deployed whilesitting in the driveway. Grand daughter had turned the keyin the ignition,but did not start vehicle. Now i am having difficulty starting on hot days, the starter clicks but the engine will not start, after several tries it will then start( about 5 tries), and today i seem to be having problems with the transmission. While entering an intersection from a stop sign i lost power. The engine was running at a top of 2rpm's and could not get over 10 miles per hour. The mechanic still need to give a diagnosis on this latest problem but siad it may be a circuit problem since touching the underhood driver side circuit box caused the car to stall and restart.

Can drive vehicle monday through saturday without any major problems, when the car is parked and not driven for one day (sunday) then on monday morning when i try to start it the battery is drained.this has happened on several occasions, does not happen every week - just intermittingly.have had it to several mechanics looking for electrical short, oldsmobile dealer is at a loss as to where the problem might be.have checked alternator, battery, electrical system but no one seems to know how the problem can be fixed.there areseveral other cutlass ciera's in our area that have the same problem - no one is able to locate the source of the problem..

Each year since the purchase of this oldsmobile i have had to replace my alternator.i previously owned a 1989 oldsmobile and had to do the same.the hesitating/stalling problem is what originally prompted me to get rid of my 1989 and purchase a newer version.i have owned this car for three and one half years and am just now experiencing similar problems.the problem was never identified/corrected in the 1989 car but hopefully, the dealer can correct the problem in my current car.i do an awful lot of driving and do not want to end up on the side of the road with a dead car, nor do i want to enter an intersection and have my car cut out on me.i hope this is correctable!

Engine will falter and/or die at apparently random intervals while the car is in motion or stopped.it is not always possible to restart the engine immediately, and power steering is immediately and completely lost, with brakes losing power shortly thereafter.the loss of power and particularly of power steering causes this problem to be extremely dangerous, and it has occured twice while making low speed turns (which were not properly completed due to the loss of steering) and twice on the interstate causing the car to slow to more than 40 miles per hour under the common speed, nearly causing the vehicle to be struck by other traffic.the car has been taken in three times to correct the problem, but it still persists.

While driving there was gas leaking fromfuel injection system. Mechanic replacedfuel line.the fuel leak required a complete fuel line assembly replacing.

In sept. 2013, replaced the fuel filter and line with the driveworks brand from advance auto parts. On 3/2/14, the car would not start and we smelled gas. The snap on connection had popped loose at the gas tank and was spewing gasoline when we tried to start the car. On 3/6/14, the line popped loose again when trying to start the car. I pushed it back on and went on my way. Later that day as i was going to return home, the line popped loose again, and again at the stop sign, and again as i tried to back up to get off of the road; a total of 5 times until it would not even stay on while trying to start the car; each time spewing gasoline. Had to buy a replacement fuel line (again driveworks brand) and was able to get home. Now i am feeling leery of this brand of line and connector, so went to auto parts and bought dorman brand connector inserts in case this happens again, and the employee at the parts store said that these parts do not last and wear out. I feel that this is quite dangerous as when the line comes loose, gas spews, the car dies, and you loose power steering, etc. All while on the road. I was grateful that i was not on a major road when this happened, and there was not much traffic.

I have purchsed a 1995 oldsmobile cutlass when i first purchased it i thought i was getting a deal, the car was very well maintained and i gave a fairly good price for it. After a couple of months of driving this vechicle i have maintained it new tires, oil changes, keeping it in the very best condition inside and out,new rotors, brakes, windshield wipers,etc. It all starting when i would slow down or go the speed of 15 mph a vibrating started like it was the tires,so i replaced the tires and rotors and it still done it then now it is slipping at take out speed to 15 mph it makes a grinding noise and almost quits pulling until it kicks into like 3rd gear then after that it shifts out perfect but while driving there is a very loud roaring sound like coming from the back.

Advised that tcc screen needs to be replaced.

The faulty programmable read-only memory, prom, caused the vehicle to hesitate upon inital acceleration from a complete stop or when accelerating from low speed with a cold engine, the owners son wrote this complaint and purchased the service bulletin and necessary parts for repair after several repair attempts by mechanic.nlm

Having the reverse gear drop out while you going forward at 50mph was very scary.we were just lucky that we did not wreck.we contacted the olds dealer in anderson sc to see if they would help with repairs.this was to no avail.the olds dealer in walhalla said they would try to help after the car was fixed.

Can not use seat belt on drivers side. Can not hook the belt into the release button. Took to the dealership & was told i had to pay to have replaced. I don't agree. This is a safety hazzard & i could receive a fine for not wearing my seat belt. I bought the car in febuary 1999.

Premature rear brake failure seems common for this and the comparable body styles of gm.gm service managers say this is a common problem.acquired car with 34k, failure occurred at 60k again at 100k and again at 120k.gm doesn't seem to care because they claim it is normal for the particular car.

Safety warning system was not installed properly for the abs brakes.there is no way of telling if something is wrong with the brakes .

Anti lock brakes poor performance causing jerking and hesitation.

While pulling out of driveway onto the highway, right there in the middle of the highway the abs brakes locked and the brake light came on. Then after giving the auto some gas, the anti-lock brake lights came on. There were both warning lights on at once.

As i reported to nhtsa on 22 jan.,'98, the abs is defective at slow very slipery conditions. Apparently this is well recognized as the new cadillac 2000 advertisesa "new side slip rate controlthat applies both front brakes to slow things down"this would have prevented my rolling thru an intersection with both this car and a similar experience with my abs equipped 1988 cadillac deville. Both of these cars and all the other abs equipped gm cars are just waiting for slippery road accidents due to a total lack of any ability to stop these cars.lots of brake pedal just no wheel braking. The new cadiillac addresses the problem but i want my cars fixed also.

Original tires on 1995 oldsmobile, cutlass, p18575r148964r360. There was very hard vibration while driving and tires were starting to wear out. Dot # for firestone tires is hyj774a.the consumer also had brakes replaced due to vehicle vibration, however after replacement the vehicle continued to vibrate.

Ongoing problems with replacing front/rear rotors and calipers due to rotors warping while driving. Manufacturer was notified..

Poor brake operation on normal and moderate stops, soft pedal, longer pedal travel, excessive pedal pressure required for one with power brakes, consumer states brakes have never completely failed.

Brakes lo trac light came on, the brake pedal dropped at least 1/2 inch, and the antilock began pulsating. The road was dry.the car stopped normally whenever the abs light was on.

Front brakes were wearing on the rotors &pads. Was no prior warning.first time happend on3/13/98/16,000miles.2nd time was getting a rambling noise when brakes were applied. On12/14/99/ 28,000 miles., vehicle was in dealer's for service & mechanic noticed problem with brakes rotors. Mechanic resurfaced rotors & changed pads first time.2nd time replaced the pads & one rotor & resurfaced the other rotors.

Brakes are unreliable. Pads have replaced three times and rear rotors twice. Front rotors will need to be replaced within 3000 miles. Service tech indicates design problems related to brake system. Also, timing belt failure unusual at mileage.manufacturer contacted, and helped without warranty repairs.also, alternator failure unusual at mileage/repair time twice usual due to location of alternator and design of engine.

I bought this car brand new and at present i have 38,320 original miles on. No safety defect mentioned in summary.

My main complaint relates to the disc brakes, rotors, and caliper assemblies on my vehicle.i have owned my vehicle since 1996 and on several occasions have had to replace the brake pads, rotors and more recently the calipers due to them freezing up.since i have purchased the car i have had at least two instances probably three where i changed my brake pads prematurely because of uneven wear.the caliper was not properly releasing and it was causing one pad usually the inside pad (the one without) the metal strip to wear down.in the first two cases i had to replace the brake pads, and the font rotors.more recently it happened again in the front so i had to replace the front rotors and brake pads prematurely (only a year or less since my last brake pad change).then shortly thereafter i started hearing a thumping sound from the back brakes when i applied the brake and when it was in for inspection i was told that the back brake assemblies were sticking and that the rotors were damaged.i ended up spending over $800 to replace the rear calipers, brake pads and new rotors while in for inspection.i have had this car for almost 10 years, and taken care of it from day one, but the most disappointing and expensive part is the malfunctioning of the brake system.i don't think i am alone, my father who also owns an olds cultass has had not as much, but some of the same experiences with his brakes, calipers and rotors.i think that there is and has been a problem with them from day one - i don't know why there was never a recall to solve the problem, but either way it has caused me to spend a lot of money ($1500-$2000 or more) over the years replacing things that should work.

Disc brake system fails constantly.the brake pads ran down before 20,000 miles in the last three months the brake padshave been replaced. Dealer has been contacted.

I have been told by two reputable repair facilities that the rotors show signs of defects, with metal chips inside, affecting my braking and a danger to my self, any passengers and any one else on the road! i was also told by someone at olds that there was a recall for such a problem on model years 1994, 1996 & 1997, why not 1995??? i have contacted oldsmobile and they said my car was no longer under warranty, which i knew and since july 17th i have had no further word from them regarding this safety issue i believe they need to fix asap.

Drivers door hinge tore through body door frame/like large crack weak weld on the frame. First start with anoise when closing door then notice it cracked on the frame.it will have to be welded back. Why? other top and bottom hinges not like that this one is in the middle the small middle hinge. End.

Front end out of alignment, dealer adjusted the alignment 5 times and reposition the sub-frame twice.tt

When traveling over 50 mph the front end vibrates, making it very difficult to steer the vehicle.consumer has contacted the dealer, dealer aware of the problem.

Noisy front end.

Ok we baught this car from my inlaws who had the "strut-shocks" replaced three times.i have repalced them twice and now i have a suspension spring that is shattered.i think this is not normal and i believe it is probalby a hazard.it looks like fiberglass and it is splintering terribly.i wouldn't think much of this if i wasn't replacing the strut-shock constantly at a cost of $500 bucks everytime.it has torn out the anti-lock break wiring to the rear wheel. This vehicle isn't old enough to require a major spring to be replaced. Thank you.marcia culhane

There is a squeky noise. It sounds like it is coming fromback. I m not sure what the problem is but i would like to know

Original tires on 1995 oldsmobile, cutlass, p18575r148964r360. There was very hard vibration while driving and tires were starting to wear out. Dot # for firestone tires is hyj774a.the consumer also had brakes replaced due to vehicle vibration, however after replacement the vehicle continued to vibrate.

When driving the car at 70 mph it vibrate dealer say it the tire.tt

Pe 00 020/tire tread separation: right rear tire experienced a blowout/tread separation while traveling at highway speed of 70-75 mphwith driver and one passenger in a1995 oldsmobile, cutlass ciera, original equipment,p195/75r14, dot# h4p9deh366. While wife was driving, the vehicle experienced a blowout, and the whole tire came off the rim.this was a goodyear tire, eagle (p21560r16).
