Vehicle backed out of a parking place, and when i began to move forward the steering wheel wouldn't turn, even with force. A "squooshing" noise was heard. After a moment, the steering wheel again would turn so i went straight home (approx. 1 1/2 miles). Had car in shop next day for repair and was told rack & pinion bad. Dealership said mfgr not responsible due to age of car. I don't feel this item should've failed at only 5 yrs and less than 100k miles.

Consumer was traveling 40-45mphwhen vehicle wandered to the left 3-4 feet into other lane, dealer found a broken weld on the lower sub frame cradle that connects the rack and pinion steering to frame, the broken wled caused the steering mounting bushings to wear out prematurely, causing a loss of steering.

Bushings on front suspensions keep drying out and squeaking at all speeds.noise is loud enough to be heard at highway speeds even with the air conditioner running.

Rear of vehicle makes a "crunch" noise when turning into the driveway.
