Consumer has had multiple, reoccuring problems with new vehicle since first purchased in october 2001.car has been returned to dealer more than 12 times in 18 months and has placed significant burden on the owner.vehicle now has new major mechanical problems with both the engine and transmission.although the vehicle is still under warranty, the large number of persistent problems classifies this vehicle as unreliable and, more importantly, unsafe.owner has contacted dealer regarding a replacement vehicle (lemon law), however the dealership has directed the owner to the maker company (gm/oldsmobile).the maker has responded by insisting that the warranty was designed for such problems and they have referred the owner back to the dealer for continual repairs.in other words, neither the maker nor their representative dealer is willing to assist the owner in resolving the situation.the dealership has since closed due to owner retirement, as well.more than five complaints have been issued to the maker from the owner by either phone, electronically or mail without any positive feeback from the maker or any attempt to rectify the situation.note: the incident date listed here is simply the purchase date - all incidents have been continous and on going since date of purchase.2 windshield wiper failures repaired under warranty 1st at 3,973 miles 2nd at 11,660 miles. *kmb

On jan.8,2013 my vehicle was wrecked. Local police and the state trooper informed me the bravada had flipped over several times and was totaled. When i went to the tow company to claim my belongs from the vehicle i noticed the airbags didn't deploy. My husband had to climb out of the back of the vehicle. He wasn't hurt bad but he could have died.this problem should be looked into. I had this vehicle serviced for several problems, but i was never told the airbags didn't work.

The oldsmobile bravada was involved in a car accident.the car was airborne and then was when it landed it was flipped end over end four to five times.the air bags did not deploy at all during or after the accident occurred.

Air bag failed to deploy when hit head on!

Vehicle hydroplaned and ran off the road.it then came back on the road and ended up t-boning the trailer of an 18-wheeler before skidding back around and coming to a stop on the side of the road.vehicle was totaled but the air bags never deployed.the speed at impact was somewhere between 35-50 mph so it definitely should have caused the air bags to deploy.

While sitting at a traffic light i noticed the service air bag light was on. I had seen this before while i was driving but it was only a flickering light and not a steady light.after driving home i noticed the light was again off.this happened again a few days later, and the light continued to be on for about a week (when the engine was running) and then it went off again. This time it was off for only one day.now the light is on all the time when the suv is running.i took the suv into our mechanic and he tried to pull up an error code.he said that it could be a corroded wire or it could be the entire air bag(s) need to be replaced.he also stated that if one air bag is not working that none of the others will either.the price quoted to fix this is from$150 just to see what is wrong, and up to $1200 to replace airbag.

Airbag suspension releases air unevenly as you are driving, causing the vehicle to swerve back and forth, feeling like it is going to flip.the airbags should not release air at all while you are driving.my vehicle is unsafe to drive over 30 mph.and sometimes upon starting the vehicle, they won't air up at all, sometimes for days at a time, or one side airs up and the other doesn't.

While drivinghad to swirl to avoid hitting anothervehicle, and itwent into a ditch. At such time neitherpassenger's or driver's airbagdeployed.back rest flew forward.both driver and passenger sustained some injuries. Consumerwas traveling about 50 mph.

Side air bag to driver's door didn't deploy upon impact.vehicle was totaled.dealer was notified.dealer stated if there was no impact to b-pillar it would not deploy unlessvehicle had a direct hit from ending of drivers door to the beginning of passengers door.*yd

Suv t-boned in driver door at estimated 40mph. Side air bag failed to deploy even though seat was ripped from its mooring.on star system did not activate to signal 911.in addition the right front tire opposite the accident rolled off of the rim.is this normal?on at least four occasions since purchasing the suv the front passenger seat belt locks while stopping and will not release.must unbuckle and retract before it can be extended.

I recently had a brand new transmission installed. Truck was driving great, had no tell tale signs of any promblems and all of a sudden truck cuts off and would not start, harness replaced, car started now gas pedal not working and reduce engine light appears, never been promblematic. Truck was located on city street not moveable. The gas pedal malfunctioned suddenly.

The relay blew, and started a fire under the hood of the car. *mr the dealer suggested that the consumer update the security system which was added to the existing gm system for extra protection.the system left the vehicle down and could not be started.the relay had blown and started a fire under the hood.the dealer would not remove the system. *scc

All wheel drive (awd) engages and disengages on snow covered roads while going uphill, starting from a stop and during slippery road conditions. *la (in re:smartrak all wheel drive system)the rear wheels would spin, then the awd would repeat the process of engaging and disengaging. *sc

The vehicle has had a series of electrical defects since purchased.in particular, the trucks main computer repeatedly fails resulting in the vehicle constantly stalling while driving.the dealer has not been able to determine the cause.*nlm

Consumer vehicle cut off while driving on interstate.when the vehicle cut off for the second time, it was discovered the battery was weak.

The contact owns a 2002 oldsmobile bravada. The contact stated that while driving at 50 mph, the vehicle stalled and all the warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who was unable to diagnose or repaired. However, the failure recurred and the vehicle was taken back to the independent mechanic. The technician diagnosed that the magnetic pick up sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. However, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 115,000.

Passenger seat caught on fire from seat heater while car was off and no one in it. The seat heater had not been used for days. My car was parked after going to the store about 3pm. Found the next morning about 10;30 am .gm denied my claim. Safety issue, definitely a manufactured defect ,there should be a recall. Whole inside of the car is trashed . The fire obviously started from the seat must have been a blaze the headliner and visor also burnt. Must have extinguished itself due to lack of oxygen. I contacted gm they never sent anyone to look at it. I emailed them photos and through that they are denying that it is a defect or a safety issue. Through research i have found i am not the only person this has happened to and yet there is still not a recall for this

While driving the vehicle slowed to about 3-5 mph and felt very sluggish although the driver was giving it a tremendous amount of gas, the next day it was running fine, a week later the vehicle shut down without warning, the vehicle was taken to the dealer who stated the problem could be the battery but was not 100 percent sure, the consumer is not satisfied with the repair and is requesting another vehicle.nlm

The contact owns a 2002 oldsmobile bravada. While driving 30 mph, there was an burning odor under the passenger seat. The contact noticed that the seat was melting from the bottom and was dripping onto the carpet. The contact pulled the fuse box wires from under the passenger seat to prevent the seat from burning; however, the seat was still getting hot. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. In addition, the engine warning light illuminated. The manufacturer was not notified of the failures. The approximate failure mileage was 215,000.

While driving at night at approx 40 mph my 2002 olds bravada completely shut down.the motor quit and i lost all power and electrical.i was able to coast to the side of the road and continued to attempt to restart the engine for approx 35 minutes.after this 35 min the engine did start and i was able to get home.i took the vehicle in for repair the next morning and was told the pcm had shorted out and it was replaced and reprogrammed.this was a very dangerous situation that could have resulted in an accident had i been traveling on a busy street. While driving 65 mph and without warningelectrical system will shutdown. Dealer has been aware of problem. This has occurred four times, and problem is still occurring.

Vehicle stalls (8) when under power.this has occurred at random, 3 occurring while on interstate at 60 - 70mph.the failure at this speed causes quite a safety concern to my spouse and i.luckily we have been able to maneuver to the shoulder without incident so far.i've tried to resolve with gm but to no avail.they are aware of the problem which they apparently corrected on dec. 6, 2001 (odi pe03001 your database) but they refuse to address the problem in vehicles (bravada & envoys) that were produced prior to 12/6/01.there solution is to leave us out here as a safety problem and continually repair the problem as it crops up.

The car shuts off suddenly and all of the gauges light up. The car must be restarted, sometimes multiple times. This presents a danger as the car may suddenly lose mobility on a highway. It seems that this may be related to multiple postings on the internet that claim this symptom is caused by a voltage spike to the computer generated by the air shocks. This car was built september 1,2001 and was supposedly included in a recall but the dealer claims that there is no recall on this car and if it was repaired under the recall, once the repair is done it is impossible to find it on the gm computers and the recall would then not be in effect for this vehicle. If it was repaired and the problem still exists, these vehicles should be removed from the road.

On 12/11/02, i was driving my 2002 oldsmobile bravada in rush hour traffic and was traveling in the passing lane going at a speed of 70 mph when my speedometer dropped to 30 mph and my brake pedal was to the floor of the vehicle.unable to accelerate. The dashboard displayed :service brake system and contact onstar displayed also.i, somehow, merged to the right lane of the expressway and at this time, my brakes were still to the floor and the speedometer was continuing to decline.steering was difficult.i was able to get off the road, but the car stopped itself without me applying brakes. I put my carin park and the car at this time was stalled.i tried to restart the vehicle but was unable due to the car being "dead".i contacted the gm roadside assistance toll-free # to notify them of my problem and they supplied me with a # to refer to in case a tow vehicle did not arrive.approximately, 30 minutes later a tow truck arrived and my vehicle was towed to yark oldsmobile.i spoke with the service manager- anthony and he documented my concerns and told me that my car would be serviced and they would let me know what the issue was.i also told himthe other problems with this vehicle included:rear suspension defect 7/2001, loss of brakes in 8/2001, car failing to start and needing towed or jumped 3 times since 8/2001.on 12/12, the service dept contacted me and told me that there were several fault codes...one being a faulty speed sensor.they pulled several codes:c0236-circuit failure vss and c0237- a communication error.i told service that i also had several issues with the electrical system and jim stated they would look inot it but it is hard to find an electrical problem because it is such a big system.i was instructed that my car was able to be picked up on 12/13/02.i did so at that time, but i am not satisfied and do not feel safe in my vehicle.yark is aware of above.

Engine shut down (loss of power to gas pedal, power steering & brakes).first instance occurred on 9/10/03 at 24,000 miles.i was drivingabout 45 mph when i noticed the gas pedal was not responding. I looked down and saw the abs and brake lights came on so i coasted off the road and could not start the engine so i called roadside assistance.after about 20 minutes the engine started so i cancelled the tow and drove the car straight to the gm service dealer. They recalibrated the pcm. The second occurrence was on 2/15/04 at 30,000 while traveling at 60 mph in the left lane of a major interstate highway.i immediately recognized the loss of power to the gas pedal once again and saw the abs and brake lights on.luckily again i had enough momentum to get off the road with an 18 wheeler close behind.this incident could have caused a fatal accident.i called roadside assistance again and i was not in a safe location with very little median and i was told it could take up to 90 minutes for a tow truck.afterabout 20 minutes i was able to start the engine again so cancelled the tow truck. I was many miles from home and it was after 5pm so i took it to the same service dealer the next day.this time they replaced the pcm and assured me they fixed the problem.in this case i think the gm service dealer did what they could do but i am not confident that this will not happen again and next time it could be fatal.i complained to gm and they were responsive about following up on the repair but as far as issuing a recall they said it was not a gm decision so i am writing to you.i found about 33 cases of this same problem reported on your website for the 2002 bravada but it is not clear any action is being taken for a life threatening defect.based on some the complaints i see the pcm was replaced twice which tells me that there needs to be some action taken here.

Driving down the freeway at 75 mph my 2002 oldsmobile bravada just quit running like i shut it off. The traffic was very heavy at the time and was force to pull over on the left side breakdown lane. This is the 5th time my suv has stalled for no apparent reason. From past experience letting the truck sit for 10-15 min it will then restart and run fine. This cycle has repeated at random intervals ever since i've own the truck. Dealer has never been able to find anything wrong even when it's been towed in three times for stalling, mostly on my wife.

The contact owns a 2002 oldsmobile bravada.while driving approximately 25 mph on normal road conditions, the contact smelled a burning odor.in addition, the headlights operated intermittently when activated at night.there were no warning indicators illuminated on the instrument panel.the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for a diagnostic.the technician stated that the failure was related to the wiring system.the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic eight times for identical failures, but they still persist.the contact was concerned of the safety risk involved.the failure and current mileages were unknown.

2002 oldsmobile bravada, looses power and shuts down. First occurance happened on october 3, 2002. The second occurance happened december 12, 2002. The first occurance happened at 68 mph in the passing lane of interstate 90 and 94. The vehicle lost power and shut itshelf down. The second occurance happened at 25 mph on the city streets of sparta. Again, the vehicle lost power and shut it shelf down.

I own an olds bravada 2002.on may 2, 2002 the engine stopped while going 60 mph for no reason.this is the fourth time that this has happened.twice i did not take into dealership.after .5 to 1 hour the car restarted.this is a very dangerous situation and it is a matter of time before someone is seriously injured. Olds and the dealership are not owning up to their responsibility in providing a safe automobile.

Oldsmobile has published a remedy for the constant tail/stop lamp failures.they extended the warranty to 6yr/72000 miles.not much for a 5 dollar bulb, but after 8 bulb replacements (4 by dealer 4 by me) i think there are other problems besides defective bulbs.if that is the problem someone better let sylvania (bulb manufacturer) know.this is a safety problem that is fixed for now, but may turn out to be a more serious electrical problem later.my wife loves her truck (no other problems), but is really frustrating.

Traveling apx 5-10 mph down a hwy slowing down and approaching an intersection with traffic light the engine stalled/quit completely and would not restart. I had to push the vehicle with help to the side of the road. After about 15 minutes the engine restarted. This vehicle was recalled for this issue several years ago (rc 04048) and was taken to the dealer by myself on 1/21/05 as soon as i was notified of the recall.looking at the invoice that i still have in my files today it claims a wire jumper harness and strap was installed. Seems like this fix has failed.

Suv failed to start.suv has been towed to dealership at least three times. At first.dealer wasn't able to find the problem. Secondly, dealer found a cause which wasn't the actual problem, andthirdly, didn't perform any corrective actions. Returnedsuv to owner. Gmc representative stated "they were only responsible for the suv while under warranty.please describe details.

The car is acting just like the other ignition switch recalls general motors has issued.if there is any weight on the key chain the car has a tendency to stall.sometimes it will start up right away while other times it may need to sit for up to 30 minutes before starting again.

The contact owns a 2002 oldsmobile bravada.five days after purchasing the vehicle, the contact experienced failures with the instrument panel gauges.he stated that the fuel gauge did not properly display the amount of fuel in the tank, causing the vehicle to frequently run out of gas.the speedometer and odometer were also failing, which made it impossible to determine the vehicle's speed and mileage.he took his vehicle to the dealer and they informed him that the recall on his vehicle expired.the manufacturer stated that the recall would not cover his vehicle because the warranty expired when the mileage exceeded 100,000 miles.the speed and mileages could not be determined due to the gauge failures.

Last month my oldsmobile bravada's gauges and instrument warning lights starting operating erratically and at times did not work at all (i.e. The gauges read zero).searching the recalls for my bravada i found 3013.3013 concerns inoperative instrument panel clusters.the failure impacted my bravada's ability to meet federal motor vehicle safety standards no. 101 and no. 208.background.i bought my bravada...used in january 2005 from everett chevrolet in everett, wa.it had 25671 miles.current mileage is 62600.prior to my purchase, my bravada had several recalls performed when the vehicle came off lease...in september 2004.recall 3013 (instrument panel gauges inoperative) was performed on september 22, 2004...at 25,184 miles.i made appointment and took my vehicle in for service on 20 november 2007.the dealer we used was:freysinger pontiac, gmc, buick6251 carlisle pikemechanicsburg, pa17050717-766-8422the dealer stated that since 3013 was already performed on my vehicle that the next step was replacement of the instrument cluster...at my cost.repair was completed on 21 november 2007.doug newell

Mechanic determined that the battery needed to be replaced....battery post detached from battery, leaking battery acid into engine compartment. Due to battery failure consumer could not retrieve key .

Engine shuts down at high speeds, lost of power & steering. All dash lights and brake warnings on. Can ususally restart but speedometer and instrument panel unoperable. Couple of times the engine has raced at high rpms with no speed. Has been to the shop 3 times, new pcm (computer) has been put in twice.have had a case number, said they weren't going to replace car, they were going to fix it and put in the 2ndpcm. While driving at any speed, vehicle will suddenly stop.consumer took vehicle to dealer, and dealer replaced computer. A month later problem reoccurred.consumer is afraid to drive vehicle.dealer stated the wiring harness needed replaced, consumer states vehicle has been okay so far.

Dt:the consumer stated that he is having problems with his electrical circuit. The dealer said that they would not do anything about it because it was doing it intermittently it would have to do this all the time for them to fix it. The lights on the display will come on and go off.for example: air bag, check engine lights and the air condition will just stop working and the volume to the radio will be all the way up when he starts the vehicle. The electrical circuit can actually cause the engine to shut itself off.the consumers wife was driving the vehicle when the rear passenger door light came on, the air condition shut off and the radio came on. The vehicle has a read out display. It is getting worse. The indicator light will change from working to being inoperative.

Vehicle loses power to dash and all components controlled from dash including windshield wipers i have taken this into my dealer and he told me they couldn't find anything wrong, but they tightened some grounds. This almost caused me to have an accident during a heavy thunder storm when the windshield wipers quit for about 15 seconds at 65-70 miles an hour a vehicle can cover a lot of distance and i was blind for 15 seconds i managed to get over to the shoulder and actually was part way in the ditch when i got stopped. Then the wipers stared up again and will work again for awhile this has happened to me atleast 8 times only once did i almost wreck my vehicle though. The clock alwayshas to be reset when this happens. Windshield wipers were on high setting when they stopped.dash instruments backlight went dark and gauge needles all went to zero. *kmb

Engine stalls driving at highway speeds. Lost brakes, steering, no control of vehicle. Luckily was on small highway, able to coast to stop and have car towed. Mechanic unable to replicate problem after keeping and drivingvehicle for 10 days. Searched issue online. Horrified to read hundreds of same complaint; same vehicle, same year. Horrible stories of resulting accidents. Now news full of"ignition switch failure" issues. Believe this is what happened to me. Gm not offering advice and claims no responsibility. Dt*: the contact stated while the vehicle was at the car wash in 2003 there was a water leak on the passenger side.the right power window would not rollup or down and this occurred intermittently.the dealership could not duplicate the problem.two-three weeks ago while trying to get the window to roll down, the engine died suddenly without warning.this was the third time the engine died suddenly.the first was while driving60 mph on a dry highway.the vehicle was towed to the dealership who could not duplicate the problem.the second time, the vehicle restarted after sitting a short while on the side of the road.the cvcs boots on the front wheels blew and were replaced twice.the headlights were replaced three times.

Vehiclestalled while driving 50 mph. Then, vehicle restarted and driven to the dealer, who informed the consumer that they could not duplicate the problem.

On pins and needles waiting for it to shut down again.

I have had my 2002 bravada in the shop numerous times for the locking of my awd. The fluid was changed in the transfer case (no help), the module was replaced (no help) and now the whole transfer case is being replaced. The cost is between 1500 and 2000! the vehicle has 80k miles. This is a very serious issue (and it appears that gm is aware of problems-based on tsb's online) especially in northern climates with snow. The control of the vehicle, when turning is lost, as the particular wheel locks up.i also had my fan clutch break, separate from awd problem.

I have a 2002 gmc safari van. The heater core is located in the front of the passenger compartment. It is covered by an uninsulated plastic cover, which when the heater is on gets extremely hot. My wife accidently touched it with her leg and burned herself. I have been having the car serviced by a chevrolet dealership which is more convenient to me. They claimed it was working correctly. I took it, at there request to a gmc dealership, at my own expense in albany, ny and they claimed it was designed that way and they could do nothing about it. Gmc refuses to do anything about it, claiming it was working properlyand that was the design. This is definitely a design flaw which is easily correctable. Gmc case # 1-343963559

It's the same as the rest of the complaints.while driving car at any speed just completely stops for no reason and without any warning.i bought this nice 2002 olds bravada for my wife and now she & the kids have been stuck in the middle of traffic on major intersections 4x4's needing to be towed into the dealership.dealership acts like they want to help and trys to fix problem put new computer in.each time this happens several months go by and then all of the sudden it happens again.stalled out at a major intersection without warning with two kids in the car and my wife in a panic for her life and for the kids.there have been tons of complaints some say it's the motor but gm isn't doing anything just extending the warranty on the suvs.when this happens and somebody dies from it i guess then gm will stand up and have to do something.i don't want this to be my wife and kids.this is a lemon.these cars should not be on the road not only are they a danger to my family but to anybody else out there on the road that is behind or in front of these cars.peoples lives are at risk here and it's not to be taken lightly.what kind of law suits is gm wanting to get involved in before they make this right?these cars are a ticking time bomb just waiting to happen at anytime anywhere without warning.i need answers and a quick fix now not when somebody dies!i traded our jeep in for this newer bravada so my wife and kids would be safe in a nice new suv.ends up they are not safe at all in this suv their lives are in danger everyday because they are having to ride in that suv everyday.think about your loved ones riding around in this bravada how would you feel...would they be in it or in some other suv?but what is our option we are stuck paying for this suv that is a lemon and ticking time bomb.that may kill my family and a lot of other peoples families. We need to get this issues resolved asap peoples lives are on the line here. This is not a joke. *la

Olds bravada stalled while driving at highway speeds (50-55 mph), lost of steering and brakes. Engine would not start for approx 20 minutes. Tried calling olds 1 800 number for assistance and number out of service that day (sunday). Vehicle was partially on roadway. This is one of many problems with the auto, mirror, heating, rear window washer blade, gauges not functional, engine replacement (piston ring problem). I would have to say that this is the most problematic vehicle that i have ever owned.

Received notice from gm concerning my 2002 oldsmobile bravada, alerting me to the possibility of engine failure due to a cylinder sleeve defect.gm's proposals is to extend the warranty.this is completely unacceptable, as a safety issue, we all know the inherent dangers of an engine destroying itself at 65 mph.please check into this, before people start getting killed.the vehicle's awd drive would not engage until the vehicle reached 25 mph.the consumer indicated that this fact was not mentioned in the owner's manual or any of oldsmobile's ads.

I received a notification from oldsmobile that my vehicles engine has the potential to produce a cracking of the engine cylinder bore. If it happens i am to take the car to a dealer and the engine will be replaced. If this happens the car will be immobile. How am i to do this? the notification was not a recall but rather a policy letter. Why wasn't this car recalled and the engine inspected to determine if this was beginning to or had the potential to happen? dealer plead ignorance. *nlm

I am the owner of a 2002 oldsmobile bravada. There is a defect in the tail/stop light assembly that causes the bulb to burn out. Gm sent me a letter saying that they would repair the defect for 6 years or 72,000 miles, whichever comes first. My car is not quite 3 years old, but hs 114,000 + miles. Gm refuses to repair this defect free of charge due to the mileage. I beleve this is a safety related problem, and they should be responsible. If it were only a burned out bulb, i realize that it would be my responsibility. The dealer tells me that if they just replace the bulb, it will continue to fail. Thank you for your assistance.

At 60k miles had to replace transmission and motor (with 2003 chevy blazer).mirrors don't recall and move when unlocking car.passenger seat belt gets tight after braking and has to be undone, recoiled, and put back on.backup lights blow every year.the awd was fixed twice by dealer and messed up again so we had it removed.the air suspension blew & was replaced with springs.terrible racket in the rear end.driver heated seat quit working 2 years ago.this year, transmission has quit working (while driving) and i am over this car!

The all wheel drive system remained engaged while trying to make sharp turns, causing drive train to bind and vehicle to stop forward motion unexpectedly.this has happened on multiple occasions but is intermittent.vehicle has been to dealer for repair four times without the problem being resolved.

When making sharp turns (parking space or driveway) front tires bind/catch. Excessive acceleration is needed to continue moving the vehicle forward or back. Vehicle comes to dead stop when moving slowly and turning. Took the vehicle to the dealership and they recommended flushing the transfer case, were going to charge too much, so had it done elsewhere. The problem just continued and seemed to get worse after that was done. Also makes a loud moaning sound when turning. Gas mileage has greatly diminished. Getting under 250 miles/tank now. Very unsafe and dealership service department seem dumb to what's happening. If unable to determine problem, could cause rapid wearing of tires. Have taken it to several places now 4 times since taking to original dealer service center. I'm not even convinced this is a problem with the awd system. Maybe differential? or cv joints? i don't know, but that's why i trust service technicians.

The drive train needs replacing at 64k miles.the car is basically in constant 4wd, which makes turning at slow speeds very difficult without lots of gas and it is noisy.this car is too young to be facing this type of issue and with low miles (usually 100k for this sort of thing).

The vehicle jerked, then slid and became stuck in the snow.

Consumer feels the all wheel drive on the vehicle is not safe in snowy conditions.when attempting a turn in the snow the vehciles back end starts to spin.also when accelerating up a hill, the rear wheels slip.*jg

No signs of looming failure.needs new transmission with less than 70,000. Gm rebuilt transmission comes with 100,000 mile warranty?clearly a problem that gm knows about but has done nothing.

While driving heard a loud noise, felt liketransmission had fallen from underneath vehicle.when turning or parkingsteering wheel will lock up.dashboard went dark, vehicle cut off. Contacted dealer.they replaced 5 times transfercase.

This is an awd vehicle which is slipping into awd when it is not needed (dry pavement) and then stays that way.it is necessary to take it to the dealer for service as they have advised that gm is aware of the problem but hasn't found a permanent solution to it.my concerns are: decreased steering control when turning a sharp corner on dry pavement because vehicle is in awd,the decreaed gas mileage by driving around in awd and the potential for damage or early replacement required for the tires which will be worn prematurely.since gm is discontinuing all oldsmobiles, my concern is also that they will just continue to have the dealer reset whatever to get the vehicle back into 2wd whenever it happens, instead of fixing the problem.

While backing out of the driveway, the front bumper had fallen off.the all wheel drive light was intermittent, there was a vibration in the transmission when accelerating-(could not duplicate), and the service engine light soon had come on.scc

Dt:caller complained about a transmission problem.the vehicle shuttered, surged and would not shift properly. The dealer could not duplicate the problemtherefore could not fix it.themanufacturer was contacted about thisproblem.this is an ongoing problem.caller stated the problem happens at all speeds, and even when the vehicle is stopped.

Not one month after we bought our bravada, we started having problems. First, when backing up, the vehicle would vibrate or shudder. Second, when going around corners, vehicle would vibrate or shudder. Third, when at a stop, i would feel a thump like someone tapped me from behind. This happens on first start up. Fourth item , & the most annoying, when driving vehicle, from 2nd to 3rd gear, you can feel that the transmission is thumping . Its driving me nuts! plus i don't think that the memory in the side mirrors work. Dealer says they are waiting for fixes from gm. Hmmm, i wonder about that.*la

When accelerating there is a loud whine up to 3rd gear. Also, while driving 55 mphvehicle shifted into 1st gear. Dealer had no explanation nor remedy to offer.

I am the owner of a 2002 oldsmobile bravada awd. This vehicle is equipped with a general motors 4l60-e automatic transmission. I purchased the vehicle used with 58,000 miles registering on the odometer. On september 21, 2005, my wife was traveling to work. She made a left turn onto a major u.s. 4 lane highway when the transmission unexpectedly failed.this caused the vehicle to immediately loose acceleration and forward mobility resulting in her being stranded in the middle of two oncoming lanes of traffic traveling at high speeds. While unexpected mechanical failures can happen to any vehicle in any condition, i have learned this appears to be a frequent failure complaint to this particular gm transmission and it has left many consumers in the same situation. After having the vehicle inspected i was informed by a local transmission repair mechanic that this is a very common problem with the gm 4l60-e transmission. Specifically the transmission part known as the 'sun shell spleen'. Repair cost totaled $1,687. I contacted two local gm dealers and both advised their cost would be in excess of $2,300 for the same service.i then began contacting local gm dealerships in surrounding counties - a total of nine.as i described the problem to the service employees of these dealerships, all immediately mentioned the '...spleen gear.' each confirmed it was commonly known as the sun shell spleen gear.each of these servicepersonneladvised me their dealerships have replaced these in more than one gm 4l60-e transmissions. On several accounts i learned of same vehicle-multiple replacements and common model year problems of 2001 to current with most failures occurring with less than 50,000 miles. All advised me not to use oem parts when replacing or repairing the transmission of my vehicle.it is my request your agency direct attention towards complaints involving thegm 4l60-e transmission.

Memory mirrors do not return to their position after coming from reverse.consumer must adjust mirrors, while driving, to get the back to the proper position.passenger side seat belt locks while braking.consumer must unfasten the seat belt - while moving - recoil and then fasten seatbelt to release pressure.transmission downshifts 15-30 seconds after coming to a complete stop in cold weather.downshifts are hard (feeling like vehicle has been hit from behind) and long (time between gears).

Gm has a knows issue on 02,03 and 04 bravadas, trailblazers, envoy's and raniers.the transmission cooler lines have a hard interference with the catalytic converter.once it wears through a steady stream of fluid leak onto the converter.this issue is documented in service bulletin pi01573.they do not feel it is a safety issue even though i see other vehicles have been recalled for the same thing.

In snowy weather the awd failed. The truck vibrates when turning in both dry and wet conditions.

Front bumper design is dangerous.gm indicated to me that the clearance of the truck's plastic bumper is eight inches. Bumper fell off backing out of 6-8" of snow on driveway surface.dangerous driving on winter roads with low front bumper clearance.other: transmission vibration. Evident when vehicle puchased on 8/29/02.awd light appeared on and off began dec. 25, 2002.dealer said awd light problem was resolved on january 7, 2003.

Complete transmission failure at 64500 miles.

Vehicle engine failure. *mr (manufacturer defect/recall gearshift defect #03v075000) *scc

After startup, fan noise was very loud and remained loud while driving. Got louder when accelerating and transmission seemed sluggish. Dealer replaced fan but problem reoccurred.

When making a turn, the vehicle makes a loud noise, vibrates, and slows down like it is going to stop.dealer contacted.cannot remedy problem.refer to nhtsa id 01v126000 (suspension related)not reading the encoder, electrical failure-which has been reprogrammed twice and has been temporarily fixed.*scc

Transmission shifts hard between first and second gear under light acceleration.gm service bulletin 03-06-04-018 was performed by the dealer but did not resolve the problem.the dealer is awaiting a solution from oldsmobile.oldsmobile "customer service" advice was to try another dealer.

The contact owns a 2002 oldsmobile bravada. The contact stated that while driving at 60 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was diagnosed that the pcm failed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 79,000.

While in motion, consumer noticed the abs fail light come on, brake failure warning followed by immediate engine shutdown, vehicle lost power steering, brake pedal became very stiff, service tech could not duplicate the problem, the computer memory showed no fault or problem.dealer replaced powertrain control module.*jg

The contact owns a 2002 oldsmobile bravada.while making a left turn at approximately 5 mph under normal conditions, the vehicle switched from two wheel drive to four wheel drive.the vehicle came to a complete stop.this type of failure is called a crow hop.the contact had to accelerate in order for the vehicle to drive again.while making another turn, the four wheel drive locked.each time the failure occurred, the vehicle would not move.the vehicle was taken to the dealer and they changed the differential fluid, but that did not correct the failure.through a service bulletin issued by the manufacturer, the contact discovered that the encoder sensor from the transfer case needed to be replaced and the tcm sensor needed to be reprogrammed.the current and failure mileages were 40,000.

My 2002 bravada has completely shut down while driving at over 60 mph twice.the first time was at 4500 miles, the 2nd at 24,000 miles.besides the inconvenience (we were 400 miles from home, had to be towed 150 miles to a dealership, rent a car, drive home, then return to pick up the car.second time we were heading out of town on a vacation- had to borrow a car), i was lucky to be able to maneuver the car off the highway when it happened.however, the problem has not been fixed, so this could happen again at any time.the pcm module was replaced both times.the second time the diagnosis said that the speed sensor caused the failure; however it was not replaced.neither gm nor the dealership will do anything further.this is an unsafe condition that no one seems to care about.i found 28 complaints in your log of this exact problem. Does someone have to be killed before gm will do anything?i am surprised that it hasn't happened yet.a car going 60 mph on a busy freeway that suddenly loses power, steering and brakes is deadly.this car should be recalled.

Very poor traction and control of vehicle in snow, with loss of control on up-hill drive .dealer and olds ammitted possible fault with factory tires, although since tires not defective ,would not replace with a tire more suitable tire for a suv. The primary reason for purchase of this vehicle was the manufactures claim of it's "smart-trac" all wheel drive system, and the dealers assurance of good performance in poor weather/road conditions. Oldsmoble will not offer any futher assistance in this matter, although we fear using our new (and expensive ) all wheel drive suv in the next snowstorm.

Engine has quit twice while driving at 45 and 65 mph.pcm has been changed 2 times.

A problem was noted when making turns. It was diagnosed as a problem with the transfer case as per tsb 020421008a. The dealership did the first recommended step to correct the problem and charged me $417.35. They said it was fixed but after picking up the vehicle and driving approximately 3 miles i noted the same problem. The next step will cost me $547! i have found several references that lead me to believe that tsbs should be covered free of charge! after more research i found at carstats.com that this is a common problem for this make/model and many owners have reported serious problems! how does this turn into a recall??

After driving the vehicle for 4 months a shudder developed when making sharp turns.the dealer replaced the transfer case fluid 3 times per technical bulletin.the shudder has decreased but now on sharp turns in reverse the vehicle balks and considerable power must be applied to move it.the dealer and gm state this is normal.this is a dangerous situation.

While driving heard a loud noise, felt liketransmission had fallen from underneath vehicle.when turning or parkingsteering wheel will lock up.dashboard went dark, vehicle cut off. Contacted dealer.they replaced 5 times transfercase.

While driving about 20 mph on a snowy road, consumer felt that 4-wheel drive was not working, had taken vehicle to dealer and they found out that wheel cable had been disconected from computer, and vehicle was repaired.

Tires are wearing uneven, cannot be balanced. Tires were replaced, shocks and struts replaced twice. Cv joint was replaced as well. Dealer is unable to remedy the problem.oil leaking from front shock, shock was replaced. Banging noise on drivers side front when going over bumps. Strut was leaking and was replaced.brakes failed while driving resulting in a rear end collison.brake pdal feels mushy.passenger side fog light out. Blown fog lamp bulb replaced. Replaced failed passenger front turn signal bulb.driver and passenger power mirror will not move left or right.mirror switch replaced.front bumper cover is loose and rattles.grinding, clunking and whining when going over bumps or making turns.steering shaft replaced.transmission leaking.replaced rear main seal, removed 02 sensor and converter due to damage. Surging problem with the engine. Dealer could not duplicate.

On friday, 01/16/09 at 7:45 am i was on my way to work.as i was driving the "service all wheel drive" light came on. I was only a couple of blocks from work so figured i would continue my drive and call a mechanic when i got there.all of a sudden it was like the vehicle became possessed and i had no control of the vehicle.it spun me around 3 times slammed me head on into a snowback, threw me back out spun me around again and threw me backwards into the snowbank again before throwing me back out onto the highway.i was very shaken but the vehicle seemed to straighten out and let me drive, so i very slowly continued on to work.when i got to work i called koronis motors in paynesville and explained to them what had happened. They came and picked up the vehicle and checked it out.they said it was a malfunction of the all wheel drive and that the transfer case would need to be replaced.i was very fortunate that on that particular morning, for some reason there was no traffic, had there been it would have been much more serious.koronis motors is in the process fixing my vehicle now, the mechanical as well as the physical damage that was done.i can't believe that auto makers are allowed to equip vehicles with mechanics that can fail in that way, i had absolutely no control of the vehicle, i or someone else could have been seriously injured or killed.i didn't think that the minute the light came on that it meant that you should immediately stop driving!!!!this needs to be looked at very seriously.

My mother's 2002 oldsmobile bravada has a baseball size hole in the front differential, she was driving and everytime she would turn or just turn slightly she would hear a grinding noise.she took it in to the dealer where she had purchased the vehicle and the dealer told her what the problem was and how much it would be to fix it. The vehicle is now in my garage where we are waiting for the parts to come in.i went online to find out if this was a common problem and come to find out it is a very common problem and it happens alot to the bravada. Do people have to wait until someone is hurt or injured for this to be recalled? so with this knowledge than why is it not on the recall list this is not just happening to a couple of people it has happened to thousands and why hasn't anything been done about this?thank you for your time, jennifer harris

Dt*: the contact stated the differential locked up intermittently.while the steering wheel was turned to the left, the right wheel locked.the dealership put an additive in the differential fluid, but the problem still existed. Then, they found an electric motor that activated the all-wheel drive to be defective. This caused the steering to lock when turning to left or right. This vehicle has a noise that they can't locate.updated 06/07/2006.

The differential and now the cam bearings are going.the vehicle has 108,000. We did regular oil changes and maintenance on the vehicle. We even bought the extended warranty but that ran out at 100,000. Driving down the road the vehicle started to lurch then would not go over 35 mph. Front differential had a whole the size of a baseball blown out.the dealer had never seen anything like it.it was in such a place that you would not have hit anything to make this happen.now that that is repaired we are loosing oil pressure and have been told the best way to repair this with a motor with this many miles is pull it and put a crate motor in it at $4-5,000.the vehicle itself looks like new.now is $36,000 pile of junk! and we still owe on it!

2002 olds bravada suv. Rear differential failure at 41k miles. Dealer and gm unwilling to cover under any type of warranty. This component will normally out last the vehical. Additionally the dealer tried to sell me a complete differential assembly rather than repairing the unit for a cost of $3200.00. The unit was repaired by a local repair shop for a cost of $2016.00.

The consumer stated that when making a right or left turn, extreme vibrations occurred in the steering wheel. The dealer stated the problem occurred due to a malfunction within the transfer case.please give any further details.

Transmission and all-wheel drive problemwhen beginning to move, the car jerks 3 or 4 times and there is a metal clinking noise under the front.the all-wheel drive fails to engage.there is also a problem when turning the wheel sharply at reduced speeds.the car will jerk and there is a weird noise.i just took my car in and this repair is going to cost between $2000 - $4000 dollars.

The owner was driving 50 mph when one of the wheels that had smarttrak kicked in and spun the vehicle around.the vehicle collided with a camper parked on the street.the consumer was told by the dealership that there was no 4-wheel drive engaged.the same problem recurred three months later.there were no warning lights that warned the consumer of the smarttrak failure.

The 4wd stopped operating during inclement weather andcausedthe vehicle to fish-tail.the vehicle was taken to the dealer five times for this problem.the mechanic informed the consumer thatthere was no remedy for this problem.the vehicle had the tendency to spin wheels/fishtail and would slide uncontrollably.the dealer informed the consumer that there was a problem with the all wheel drive and that when the fix is found, there may still be a posiibility that the problem will return.the service dealer was unable to duplicate the problem with the all wheel drive light.the boot was found blown while being lifted at the service dealers garage, the gauges (fuel and temperature) read "high."the consumer was told that the problem the awd light was due to the encoder motor, there was a whine noise when the vehicle was in motion, the ground coroded and the transfer case actuator was inoperative do to the awd, when the awd light would come on the vehicle would shut off intermittently and the transfer case control module was replaced and the body control was updated, and the front pads were worn out and the rotors were rusted and pitted. *sc

All wheel drive does not engage properly under icy road conditions.vehicle shifts in and out of 4 wheel drive, causing vehicle to fishtail.there would be a great risk of loss of control at higher speeds than 35 mph, such as on freeways, under such conditions.

The all wheel drive has fallen twice in a year. Also stated that while driving on the snow the all wheel drive failed to respond which it caused an accident dealer was contacted and stated that the problem has been fix so there is nothing to worry about but consumer does not feel safe on the vehicle. Tsdealer checked and reset wheel alignment to specs.inspected driveline and front end.consumer also stated vehicle does not have steady idle.gm currently working on idle concern.windshield moulding on passenger side coming off and replaced.brake pedal fades at stop and cluck inside right rear door panel.no problem found.4x4 light stayed on.4wd switchreplaced.

The 2002 bravada awd system has serious safety problems.prior to the incident i was commenting to my wife that the vehicle was not handling well in snowy conditions.the all wheel drive engages only after a significant amount of rear tire spin followed by a lurch as the front tires kick in.the awd lurches (engaging and dis-engaging many times as i tired to get under way at a stop light).the vehicle would easily fish tail without any erratic or provoked actions by the driver.when the accident happened i was turning right onto a 4 lane divided main street that was icy/snow packed i was tip toeing around the corner when back tires spun which engaged the awd with a lurch.this caused the vehicle to fish tail to the left, to the right and back to the left as the driver tried to save the vehicle from disaster.i reached a top speed of 17 mph (barely above idle).each time the vehicle fish tailed it was made worse by the awd system that lurched (again and again) upsetting the vehicle in its already precarious state.the vehicle slowed to 6 mph before impact into a light pole.i now have major safety concerns about drivability of this vehicle in slippery conditions.given the lurching and tail happy nature of this awd system i would rather not drive this vehicle in winter (snow/icy) conditions (which is one of the main reasons that i got this vehicle).i also feel that i cannot sell or trade this vehicle in for fear that the next owners will experience the same lurching and fish tailing conditions with the awd but have more damaging/dangerous consequences. To have gm say that this vehicle is working within specifications is just plain insulting and is the biggest lie ive ever heard.if anyone else has experienced these drivability problems please open a nhtsa case so we can get gm to fix or recall the vehicle.

The vehicle operates like it is in 4 wheel drive mode at all times.nlm

I reported to the dealer a problem with my '02 bravada in which vehicle shuddering occurred while starting a turn from a stop.i was told the problem was in the all wheel drive (all wheel drive) transfer case and that oldsmobile (gm) was attempting to solve the problem but had not yet (as of 9/17).in 12/02 all wheel drive was inoperative and a faulty transfer case shift control module was replaced on 12/09/02 restoring all wheel drive.on 12/18/02, the transfer case encoder motor position sensor was replaced.calibration changes were also made to increase to delay in which front wheel engagement occurs and to disengage immediately.problem:the calibration changes have led to a very unsafe condition when driving in wet and snow conditions particularly, driving the vehicle in these conditions is very treacherous and risky because significant rear wheel spin occurs (due to the increased delay) until the all wheel drive engages with a lurch.in slow traffic situations this leads to a series of convulsive, spasmodic lurches, with rear end fish tailing, as the all wheel drive engages and disengages uncontrollably.at more moderate speeds, approximately 20 mph, the fish tailing becomes exaggerated and leads to a spin out (fortunately, there was no other traffic).i have driven 4 wheel drive vehicles for 15 years, all wheel drive for 6 years and have never experienced anything like this.this is truly the most dangerous vehicle i have ever driven in snow, including 2 wheel drive.it cannot be driven safely in even the lightest snow condition.what is the point in owning an suv if it cannot be safely driven under conditions in which you need it.dealer service, oldsmobile customer service, and tech service advisor all say the system is performing according to manufacturer specifications.i find that statement to be outrageous.

Passenger side seat belt locks after being secured, causing passenger to not be able to move.

The vehicle had few recalls including inoperative windshield wipers.the back wiper stopped altogether, when making turns the vehicle makes noises and the gauges on thedashboard had gone out and the tail light flickered.recall campaign #04v046000. *sc the passenger seat belt was inoperative.

*kmb

Passenger seat belt locks into place with little or no passenger movement, cannot be released without removing seatbelt completely and retracting completely.also own a 2002 chevrolet trailblazer w/ same problem on passenger side restraint. Passenger must remove seat belt every few minutes just to breathe or tuck shoulder strap behind them. This is a serious flaw on the passenger side seat belt on all 2002 bravada's, trailblazers and envoys. Dealer has no fix at this time except to try a seat belt extender to change passenger side angle on restraint belt to see if it helps. This should be a serious recall issue. Will file seperate complaint for 2002 chevrolet trailblazer also just purchased. This defect can cause death or serious injury should a crash occur while passenger is unrestrained while retracting and reapplying restraint.

The passenger side rear seat belt came completely disconnected from vehicle's interior frame while consumer was attempting to secure child in belt.tsdealer found rear seat belt shoulder anchors were loose and were replaced.

Driver's side power seat engaged (rearward) by itself while driving. The seat could not be returned to original position. Following this event, the seat would no longer function. This vehicle has a 60/40 split folding rear seat.the wider side was designed to accomodate 2 latches to lock the seat bottom into place.however, the manufacturer only installed 1 latch.therefore the seat bottom is not secure at the middle seating position and can be shaken considerably by hand.we will need to install at child seat in the middle postion.due to the seat being inadequately secured, we are very concerned about the safety of our child or any rear seat passenger in the event of a crash.the dealer has refused to install a second latch, claiming that it is a safe design.i believe that, in addition to the 2002 oldsmobile bravada, that the rear seats of the 2002 chevrolet trailblazer and 2002 gmc envoy also have only 1 latch for the wider rear seat.i think this should be investigated as it is a safety risk affecting a large number of new vehicles.thank you for your assistance.

Passenger's seat scorched while being parked in the garage after the vehicle wasdriven.the seat heater was not on.vehicle was towed and remained in the repair shop.

On 2/19 i was driving home from work one night and there was a smell in the car and i thought it was the car in front of me as i kept driving it got worse.i stopped and pulled over and checked under the seats and i did not see anything, as i drove further it got worse.i then happened to look over at the passenger seat and it was smoking, and a black hole was starting on the seat.i pulled over and put some snow in the hole and it still was smoking, so i flagged someone down and got a bottle of water to pour in the hole.i called my car ins and general motors on 2/20, my car insurance was very helpful, but gm, not!after talking to 3 different people and no one ever calling me back gm case number case file number - 71-604440275, finally on april 29th, i was told that there was nothing gm could do for me.the first excuse was that my insurance was involved they will not be handling anything, and then they said that they will not pay for anything because "there were no flames"they did offer me a $2000 loyalty voucher to use on a new car to be used in 1 year.i am picking up the car (it has been fixed by a gm dealer) tomorrow and the burned seat (to keep) and am very upset that they would not pay for the damage of $638 (my insurance deductible and a part (the part that caused the fire).i was wondering if you could be of assistance to me.i have the seat at home.

Says "too many keys on key chain."2 keys on mine. Vehicle not on gm recall list. Bought second hand in 2011. Now too scared to drive it.still owe $5,000 on car. Cant afford to add thatto new loan. Will not sell it to unsuspecting soul who may be killed.

I wa driving in rush hour traffic and was going down a hill.i went to put on the brakes to slow down with the rest of traffic, no urgency, no suddenness, just normal slow down.when i pushed the pedal, it did not respond as usual. At first it soundedlike the abs were engaging, which really did not make sense, but instead the pedal went all the way to floor. There was no sponginess or softness, just to the floor to the point where i stood up. At this point, i was probably going 40-45 mph and now accelerating down the hill.there was a a large pick-up truck in front of me.i was able to change lanes and fortunately prevent an accident.i let go of the pedal as i was changing lanes, and i as i was trying to figure out what to do next, i touched the brakes and they were normal again.this probably all took place in a matter of 20 seconds and, needless to say, my pasenger was as white as a ghost.i managed to drive the vehicle home about 6 miles and called service the next day.i did drive it to the dealer servicecenter about 20 miles away.i attempted to explain the problem and left the vehicle at the dealer's.i also would like to note that his was not the first time there were problems with my vehicle.in this latest incident, service has replaced the master cylinder because they could not find a code to relate to the problem.i might also add that they were unable to find specific codes for previous incidents.we are now at a standoff.my husband refuses to take the car back because he believes that the master cylinder was/is not the problem and told them they need to call gm to figure what the malfunction of this particular bravada is.twice in may of 2003, the transmission disengaged while on the expressway at 70 miles an hour. In october of 2003, while driving home from the airport at midnite by myself, the engine cut out and service brake lights also came on. I once again had no kind of brake.it went to the floor.

My 2002 oldmobile bravado has less than 36000 miles on it and all the brake rotors have rusted beyond repair.i took it to a reputable auto repair place in cadillac michigan and they told me many of these cars were supplied with cheaprotors from china.

When making a sharp turn to the right or left the bravada when act as if you are using the brake when you turn sharp into a parking spot cause the truck to stop. 2002 olds bravada (which we have owned since 9/2004) was being driven by my teenage son (with 3 other kids in the vehicle), as he left a stop sign, the frame of the vehicle broke loose from the body, separating the control arms from the frame and dropping the rear of the vehicle.

The paint on the flanges in front of the back wheels is chipping off. This is a common problem on 2002 bravadas the vehicle is driven only on road and under normal conditions. The dealer just called me and said this is not a warranty item and i should put mud flaps on the vehicle. At this rate, the flanges would be down to bare metal in a short time. This is obviously a paint defect and has been reported in some of the town hall message centers on 2002 bravadas. I told the dealer his response was unacceptable, but i am getting the run around here. A factory rep is supposed to look at it tomorrow, but the dealer held out little hope. Help

Side mirrors being adjusted incorrectly both when backing and altering when going forward

My main problem with this vehicle has been the paint. 2 paint jobs later on the lower half of car - paint still looks like crap. I can see the erosion beginning again on the driver's side on rear door lower where the body flares (design error i've been told). I've notified oldsmobile who state that it's the environment i'm driving in, not the paint. Why then, does not every car in new england look like mine? i am planning on running boards - don't want to buy them - but trying to save the paint.

I purchased this car on june 13,2001 and have continual problems with the engine andacceleration of the car.when youaccelerate to change lanes the rpms respond, but the car does notaccelerate it is as if the link between the two component is malfunctioning.i have had this car for 4months and it has been 17 days in the repair at the dealership.i have concern that with the car instantly dying that i could be the cause of an accident, and result in injury to my family, others on the highway or myself.oldsmobile needs to research the problem and identify a solution before there is serious injury from this power train failure.

While wipers are on delay they skip when they are on their downward path not removing all the water, impairing my visibility, when they are on constant they are fine since i bought the vehicle used in 2004.

Outside review mirrors do not stay in position when you use the remote entry or return to the programed position. When you are in vehicle and press either posistion for driver 1 or 2 they move to a different position every time.

On the 17july 2013, at approximately 4:30pm, i was driving and windshield washers stop working. Please note , the noaa national weather service issued a severe weather flash flood warning.

2002 oldsmobile bravada - visiblity-memory mirrors have not functioned properly since purchase of vehicle.have returned for service numerous times.this is a hazardous situation.needing to make a forced lane change to find your mirrors not in place can be fatal.i am in and out of my car 3 to 4 times a day and occasionally fail to set my mirrors with each entry to vehicle.

The rear-view mirrors did not work properly.every time you start the car the mirrors reset to a position that makes it impossible to see behind you.you must manually change the mirrors each time you restart the car.the mirrors are supposed to remember the proper setting for two drivers. This is a major safety hazard.dealer has been unable to fix this problem.

Mirrors constantly lose memory position and tend to wander upon remote unlock.if not immediately noticed, can cause view problems later during the drive and possibly result in an accident.

Memory mirrors do not return to previous position upon unlocking vehicle.mirrors constantly change position and position themselves such that the driver does not have view of adjacent/rearward vehicles which is a safety hazard.

Side mirrors wander, position is never constant.dt

At 60k miles had to replace transmission and motor (with 2003 chevy blazer).mirrors don't recall and move when unlocking car.passenger seat belt gets tight after braking and has to be undone, recoiled, and put back on.backup lights blow every year.the awd was fixed twice by dealer and messed up again so we had it removed.the air suspension blew & was replaced with springs.terrible racket in the rear end.driver heated seat quit working 2 years ago.this year, transmission has quit working (while driving) and i am over this car!

Mirrors on side of vehicle are not working properly.mirrors have set to be in one place, but when turning vehicle on, mirrors will change to a different position, making it more difficult for the consumer to check on other vehicles.consumer stated that this occurred sporadically.

2002 oldsmobile bravada.the mirrors are adjustable to suit individual drivers.this occurs automatically depending on whether key #1 is used or key #2.the problem is the mirrors do not return to the set positions.this is extremely dangerous when entering high speed traffic from an on ramp.incident date is daily.i did not fill in the date below as there is no "daily" choice.

The cars side mirrors are memory side mirrors are supposed to automatically adjust to the drivers preset positions.when the car is put into drive, these mirrors adjust themselves to a random position, thus rendering them unless.they must be manually adjust for visibility and this process must be repeated every time the car is put into drive.the car has been in for service twice, with no successful improvement or correction to solve the problem.gm now refuses to attempt any additional remedies.

Both remote mirrors will not hold their memory. I have had my vehicle into service for this problem four times and the problem still exist. The mirrors move when the key is inserted into the ignition before starting the car. Also, both mirrors will not hold their position after being programed in either the normal driving mode or the "reverse-backing up" (curb view assist) mode. I have to manually move my mirrors each time i get into my car to drive, even if only leaving it for a few moments. I have had one minor accident due to the problem because of the mirrors moving. Please help.thank you.

Rear view mirror memory function does not work.most times it adjusts the mirrors to an odd position.sometimes makes ratcheting sound.requires readjustment of mirrors on nearly every locking, unlocking of doors.

The vehicle has faulty mirror would not hold setting, and was reprogrammed.the brakes squeak when backing.the engine light would come on intermittent.the back tailgate door and the back passenger squeaks.the radio goes out, the door locks and unlocks at will, the seat has malfunctioned, and cannot lock the passenger doors from the master control on the drivers door.scc

Both outside rear view mirrors need adjustment every time the car is put in drive.

While driving the left front tire would make a loud noise, thus distracting the consumer.the dealer was been notified.phthe right front tire had a high whistle.the dealer was unable to fix, stating that this happens after the vehicle reaches 20k miles, and greased the axle(s).the light underhood was inoperative.the dealer replaced the underhood light, lamp assembly, (stop), tail, and turn signal light underhood.the outside mirrors would not stay in place.the dealer replaced both modules per bulletin 02-08-64-027/both side mirror actuators.scc

Vehicle has self adjusting mirrors which adjust when reversing.after reversing the mirrors do not go back to their original position.dealerinformed the consumer that a remedy for this problem has not been released from the manufacturer.

The contact owns a 2002 oldsmobile bravada.the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign id number: 04v046000 (visibility:windshield wiper/washer) and the vehicle was taken to the dealer for repairs. The contact stated that after repairs, the windshield wipers would shutter abnormally as opposed to wiping smoothly across the windshield. In addition, the wipers would also sporadically fail completely in the middle of the windshield.the vehicle was repaired at a local mechanic shop.the failure mileage was approximately 50,000 and the current mileage was 78,000. The vin was not available.

Whenever the windshield wipers are on delay - they drag across the windshield.so far, i have cleaned the windshield thoroughly with alcohol, window cleaner, and vinegar, as well as the garage has put new wiper blades on, and supposedly replaced the wiper motor due to a recall..all to no avail.

*kmb

Dt:a 2002 oldsmobile bravada build in july 2001.the consumer contacted the manufacturer twice, and they told him both times that this vehicle was not included innhtsarecall 04v289000 due to vin. Afterwards he contacted the consumer reports, and they sent him a copy ofcomplaint and a copy of the recall notice, the recall copy consumerreceived said that the built dates of october 2000-2001 were included; his vehicle was built in july 2001.consumer' vehicle swas not experiencing a similarproblemas mentioned in the recall.his vehicle.also, incident date was the date the report was sent out.

The vehicle had few recalls including inoperative windshield wipers.the back wiper stopped altogether, when making turns the vehicle makes noises and the gauges on thedashboard had gone out and the tail light flickered.recall campaign #04v046000. *sc the passenger seat belt was inoperative.

*kmb

When making a right turn the front wheels felt like they were locking up, consumer had to apply more gas to get them to unlock.took to oldsmobile and they flush the all wheel drive system fluid.consumer feels that mad problem worse. Please provide any further information. Mr
