Fuel return line:foul smell in car, took to emich olds but failed to correct. Returned due to continued smell, finally diagnosed and repaired leak. Fuel rail/fuel regulator:strong, sickening fumes entered car interior, then car lost power and barely maintained 20mph on way home. After i parked in my driveway, a large quantity of gasoline leaked onto the driveway. I had to call the fire department to assess safety before towing car for repair. After repair was made, strong gasoline fumes remained in engine compartment and continued seeping into car. Emich was finally able to apply a cleaning treatment to remove smell. Crankcase seal:repair was done incorrectly by emich olds, had to be repeated. Note:there were a largenumber of other mechanical repairs needed on this car, particularly in the last year, too many to report here. Many required more than one trip to emich to diagnose/repair. This car is a lemon!!!this car is a lemon!!!, had to be repeated a second time by emich olds. Driveway at home, a large.

This malfunction was identified by the vehicle stalling in traffic numerous times.the engine would stop without warning or indication of a problem and was also intermittent.sometimes the engine would restart and run for a short period and sometimes itwould run without incident for several days.after several days of trying to duplicate this malfunction, king oldsmobile, 1399 s. Federal highway, deerfield beach, fl 33441, ph: 954 574-1427,the vehicle stalled.they determined the fuel pump to be the cause of the problem.upon removal of the fuel pump, they found frayed wiring and evidence of arcing at anelectrical connector on the fuel pump.this pump is located in the fuel tank.(i have the old fuel pump if needed for inspection)the vehicle has been performing without incident since repaired.i called oldsmobile custormer service and informed them of this problem.i told them i felt that this was asafety concern as well as a possible problem area, since the nhtsa website had three similar reported malfunctions, odi id 866437, 780417, 850386.they recorded this information, however , i was not satisfied that this would be investigated.this appears not to be an isolated case.my filenumber at oldsmobile is 00313584, customer service ph: 1-800-442-6537.

Vehicle would not start on the first try, but would always start on the second try. Also noticed a gasoline odor while idling and driving at slow speeds.the odor progressively got stronger until a pinhole leak was discovered in one of the plastic fuel lines attached to the fuel rail. When i called oldsmobile about this they said that there were no open recalls on this and that i would be responsible to pay for a proper diagnosis (and of course repair) at a gm dealership.the ironic thing is that i had previously been contacted by gm (about two years ago) about the fuel rail recall and took the car in to have the fuel rail replaced even though now oldsmobile is saying that the recall never effected my vin.
