Shifting from low to overdrive loses power dramatically. Takata recall my versa is in motion on surface streets and highway travel! it feels as if my transmission is going to drop on the ground. Serios vibrations throughout the entire vehicle and extreme deceleration!

Takata recall i don't know that this is a takata issue, or if we even have a takata airbag system in our vehicle. However, for the last three months our airbag light has been going on. We have been turning it off by doing the synchronized key turn method, where it would work for a few days or weeks and then the light would come back on. We took it into a dealer, and they are replacing the "airbag module" because it is defective. We took it to elhart automotive in holland, mi and it is completely covered under the warranty. However, we wanted to submit this as an issue because the vin doesn't get a hit on the takata recall, however there is obviously an airbag issue - whether it is isolated or a part of the takata thing, is above my paygrade to know or understand. We want to make sure if the 2014 nissan versa should be on the recall list, that it is appropriately addressed.

I want to know who manufactured the airbags in my 2014 nissan versa sedan and my spouse's 2009 nissan versa sedan.i believe they have not been recalled for the airbag but i am aware from good press reports including nytimes that many vehicles have the same or similar takat-manufactured bags to those recalled and at least one fatality has occurred in such a vehicle.i have searched and the only information online i have found is the list of recalled models.if mine is not there, i still have a right to know who manufactured the airbag and would appreciate the nhtsa supplying such information.alternatively, how do i get the carmaker to inform me of the airbag manufacture?thank you for your assistance.i am very pleased that an agency such as yours exists.

Me and my spouse were rear ended last night at a red light. Neither of the airbags functioned and her seatbelt didn't hold her to her seat, causing her to impact the dashboard with her face. Her nose is broken and she also has hematomas on her eyes and forehead.

I took my 2014 nissan versa to a nissan dealership because the air bag light came on but they want to charge me to see what's the problem. I have'nt had the vehicle that long so why should i have to pay to see what's the problem,

The right rear stop light has been replaced 4 times and keeps burning out. Almost got hit by car because he did not see stop light on. Last time the bulb was replaced was two weeks ago. Need to replace same bulb again.

My vehicle shuts off on me when driving and it happens sporadically. Driving on city street loss acceleration wheel locks.

Since purchasing the car in 2014. I had the body throttle replaced, the fan on the ac. Now the electrical motors for the doors to lock and unlock is going out.i truly feel when i purchased this car it was a lemon.because i had only had the car for a couple of years when the dealership had to replace the throttle body and shorty thereafter, the dealership had to replace the fan on the ac. Now on 23 feb 2020. I am on my way to church when i notice this loud noise and now i've been told the motor is going out that controls locking my cars doors.when the throttle gave out i was driving when i notice this loud noise. When the fan gave out on the ac, i notice that the ac no longer work and i attempted add freon and i was told that it was the fan on the ac. My major complaint today is the motor on for the lock/unlock. It's a shame that cars are only made to last a short period of time or at the lowest cost possible and the sell them for outrageous price over the fair market price. Sometime its just better to purchase a used car opposed to new vehicle that you think will last and but its not like that at all.

I was backing out of my driveway, and noticed that the vehicle started losing power and steering. The vehicle then shut off while driving. After this incident, i parked the car, and it stopped responding and would no longer turn on.

Code po705 range sensor/neutral safty switch .also both rear tail lamp assemblies are defective

When put in park and key out of ignition the car will not shut off. The car continues to run for hours. It will eventually run out of gas and hopefully shut off.

Engine shuts off while driving and loses all power and stearing

My 2014 nissan versa began having electrical problems today at 3:15pm. My blinkers are coming on when i turn the head lights on and the bright light switch turns on with the blinker and is not on bright light mode. When i turn the lights off the inner lights around the inside panels of speedometer and other come on like they are supposed to when headlights are on not off. When i turn them off the inner lights go off around the speedometer. Whole headlight blinker system started going crazy when i was at sonic began in reverse to pull out and continued in drive to a safe parking lot continued in park and while driving on city streets. It all began with an extended warranty phone call about an electrical problems with my car. I went to my job interview then took it straight to the dealership i'm purchasing it from loyds used automotive where they sent me to chapman's automotive these places are located in hot springs arkansas where all of this occurred. I later tried to call the warranty phone number back and it said nobody was available to take my call.

On the morning of march 4th 2019, after existing the express way my vehicle seemed to slow despite being on the accelerator. After stopping at a red light, and i began to press on the accelerator the car would only roll. The vehicle had lost power and was at a slow roll. I continued to press on the accelerator at it was as if the car was dead. I contacted the dealer and i sent the car to them on a flatbed on tuesday. After a day i called the dealership to find what had caused the malfunction. I was told that there was an electrical short that sent a signal saying 'i was on the break and not the gas". On picking up the vehicle i asked to speak to the mechanic, i expressed my confusion because there were no indication of an inoperative light bulb or an indicator in the vehicle to substantiate any failure. I was told "there doesn't have to be any warning or indication" by the mechanic. I contacted nissan, a representative followed up and told me they would get back to me after talking to the repair service. When they did contact me again regarding my concerned all i was told is that the problem is resolved. I raised the question of how can a vehicle lose power and come to a stop without no indication and i was told "they don't have the answers". The car malfunction put my life in a dangerous situation and nissan have neglected to acknowledge that the vehicle is faulty.

The contact owns a 2014 nissan versa. The contact stated that brake pedal failed to engage without warning. As a result, the contact was unable to start the vehicle with the push to start. The car turns off while driving and waiting at a stop sign or red light.studdering occurs with exceleration. There is also an electrical draw somewhere. If the car is not driven in 3 days, the battery must be jump started.we have replaced the battery. This has been an ongoing problem since 2017

The contact owns a 2014 nissan versa. While driving various speeds, the vehicle suddenly shut off. The vehicle was taken to the dealer (planet nissan in las vegas, nevada) who was unable to duplicate the failure. No repairs were performed and the vehicle continued to experience the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 60,000.

I was going to pick up one of my kids and all the lights came on.the brakes, manual transmission, and the steering wheel did not work.i called the dealer and the pick it up and did a 24 point check up.the service agent told me on the phone that they called nissan and they did a complete reset of the system.when i pick it up the service representative was no where to be found.i had some questions about what he told me, but he wasn't available.in my paper work all they put was that they did a 24 point check up and nothing was found.i hope this doesn't happen when i?m driving on the highway at 70 mph.i would like to get more information about this problem.

When i got in the car, i went to start it by pressing the brake. The brake pedal went all the way to the floor and the accelerator pedal did as well. It took about 10 minutes for them to release and come back up, before i could get my car started and drive back home. I was scared for my life it was going to stick again on my 2 hour ride back home.

Bought 2014 nissan versa on 09/10/19.had it checked out by mechanic and checked out good.had for 2.5 - 3 weeks and engine light came on and started stalling while stopped.had to turn headlights off when stopping and then turn them on again when car got going again.took to aamco in louisville ky and they said it was neutral safety switch.spent $400 to have replaced and things were good for a couple of days then started doing the same thing again.very dangerous to have to turn lights off/on at night.drove to ky this weekend to get car and bring home to mo to have fixed (hopefully).i cannot have my daughter in college 500 miles away from me in a dangerous situation.

When put in park and key out of ignition the car will not shut off. The car continues to run for hours. It will eventually run out of gas and hopefully shut off.

The contact owns a 2014 nissan versa. While driving 45 mph, the vehicle veered from left to right. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 5.

I was driving up the street and when i pushed down on the brake it started to shake i only had the car for a day at the time, then within the next week the light around the radio dim in and out all the time and when braking sometime the brake will release on its own and the car will jump forward. When i took it in to nissan they said they could not duplicate what i stated was happening and that there was nothing wrong with it but till this day it is still happening and i spoke with the manager who also says there is nothing wrong with it.

I had an accident on 4/8 in the parking lot of my job and a truck slammed into my passenger side and no air bag deployed.she had accelerated due to a manual transmission in her truck.the estimates for body work was 28.92, 500.00 and 5, 658.32 more than half totaled i have problems with the car, the brakes, idiot light, steering and acceleration and jumps as you back out.

I am a military (usaf) honorably retired/disable veteran. My 2014 nissan versa with 95,000 highway miles, on it due work. Where i commute long distance to get to. Cvt transmission started slipping and jerking when driving up hill. I took my car to ted russell nissan (knoxville, tn) dealership. This problem has a long history and became very serious when the versa, hit the 60,000 miles mark. I took this car to ted russell nissan, in which this dealer service department did not address the problem and refused to fix the transmission deflect.my 2014 nissan versa with 95,000 highway miles, on it due work. On june 10th, 2017, my nissan versa, cvt transmission started slipping and jerking again, when i was driving up hill. I took my car to ted russell nissan (knoxville, tn) dealership. The ted russell mechanic said i need a new transmission. The mechanic could not even tell me what happened or what the cause of the failure was. Ted russell nissan (knoxville, tn) dealership said $3496.00 to replace. The mechanic said i need a new transmission. He stated that he was surprised that i was able to get this many miles on the car because those transmissions are a piece of sh*t - direct quote. The mechanic could not even tell me what happened or what the cause of the failure was. Ted russell nissan (knoxville, tn) dealership said $3496.00 to replace.please help me!!

On 7/24/18 while driving my 2014 nissan versa on north i-15 near charleston blvd in construction stop and go traffic, i had slowed to a stop based on traffic. As the traffic began to move, i tried to accelerate and car sputtered, but moved and then aftet driving a quarter of a mile at a speed of 25 mph, the car just stopped while in drive. All dsahboards lights and engine indication came on. Luckily the car behind me screeched to stop. I immediately put on hazards and pulled emergency brake and put car in park. I tried to restart car and it wouldn't start. After five minutes, the car started and i was able to drive home. I advised my daughter and told her i would put car in shop. On 7/26/18, i took car to auto care for assessment. My vehicle had only 31,290 miles on it. They found nothing wrong but out of concern, i had a 30,000 mile service done on car. On 8/3/18, i was advised by another driver that my brake lights were not working. I went home and my daughter saw that the lights were out also. I checked as she braked and no lights. I drove on hazards to auto repair and they checked vehicle and lights worked. They stated maybe an electrical shortage but return if lights go out again. From the time i purchased this car brand new in march of 2014, i have taken it back to nissan for lack of power, sputtering at stops and intermittent stalls. Nissan replaced oxygen sensor a year ago when car stopped while driving and advised that it's a small car so won't have a lot of power. On 8/23/18, i received notice from nissan regarding sudden stops and to bring car to dealer for repair. I am afraid to drive the vehicle or have my grandchildren with me when i drive. The car stutters at stop and hesitation is constant. I'm not sure nissan can repair this issue.

2 separate occasions the abs has failed to function and has locked the wheels up solid until the pedal was released and depressed again. Also the air conditioning when on makes car pulse to the point that at a stop unless you are full depressed on brake the car will lurch forward as compressor kicks on.

My 2014 nissan versa shut down today while i was driving! luckly i was on a parking structure. I looked up my vin for any recalls and it shows 0 however, i did locate a recall that was made for 2014 nissan versas sedan for the exact same thing that happened to my car and i'm wondering why my vehicle is not part the the recall vin numbers.

Bought my car brand new in 2014. Almost immediately started having transmission stalling and slipping issues within two months. My car stalled out and died on the freeway in the middle of rush hour traffic. I went to my nissan dealership to have it looked at and fixed under warranty.they did not fix it, nor do i think they even looked at it. My car stalls, slips, grinds and vibrates every time i gas it. There have been a handful of other times my car has stalled out and died in the middle of a busy street, while driving.i've had my car for three years and i've been to my dealership many times during warranty and after warranty for this issue and each time the problem has not been resolved. There was even a recall for my transmission, in which i went to the dealership 3 times for it, and it still has not been resolved months after i received the recall notice. I've tried looking this recall up, and i cannot find it. Perhaps the dealership stated that this issue has been resolved when it has not. I do not feel safe in my car, and i feel as if the nissan dealership i bought my car from is adding to the lack of safety of my vehicle.

Experiencing issues with cvt transmission when driving. Transmissions 'jerks', 'knocks', 'pulls',

I went to pick up my daughter from daycare on day indecember 2017. I stopped at a stoplight and when it turned green i went to accelerate and my car would barely creep, i barely made it through a turn light and close to getting hit. I could barely get up to 15mph. I ended up taking it to a shop and was told a pulley broke on the transmission! it supposedly caused shrapnel to shoot into the transmission and told could of gotten into the motor! so i was told $4000 for a rebuilt transmission. The shop put me through the ringer! they told me it was fixedand it wasn't!! it was not shifting right! then i was told they would put in a new transmission at no extra charge. Then i ended up getting ahold of them the next day and they told me no doubt it is fixed and that they ended up not putting in a new transmission after they read up on it. I ended up having the car towed because it wasnt fixed! then they put in a new one finally at no charge and it was fine. Took 4 times!! two weeks later and it starts burning a gas/rotten egg sulfur smell. Then i finally notice oil leaking out from under my car. From what i was told i have a blown head gasket!!! i am angry to say the least!!1 i spent all my savings and now have to find a way to get a new car and i doubt i can pay to fix this problem!!!

Engine stalls not shifting properly. Stuck in gears.

I got my car out of " ross nissan of el monte" took my car multiple times and never was advised of having any engine problems. Iam the first owner , and car shouldn't be going through any engine problems. Vin# [xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

On 06-23-21 my car left me stranded on the side of the road the cvt transmission wen out . I was never contacted or called or received any mail whatsoever now nissan says that i am out of luck and good lucki am out of a car that was giving me problems for over 2 years they refuse to help or do anything about the bad transmission

Vehicle hesitates and cuts off while driving. Check engine light is on and says there's a transmission issue

I was driving about 30 miles/hour, there was a sound and the car shut down, engine stopped, lost power steering and brake became heavy, no lights in speedometer and indicators went off/black screen.brakes were soft but i was able to stop.i restarted the engine and i was able to drive.then i was on a freeway about 20 min later, driving 65 miles/hour and the car made a big noise, shook as if i drove on a pothole, and it was the same thing.no engine, accelerator didn't work, i was coasting, lost power steering, and hard to push down breaks.power in the panels were off.i was able to use emergency signal, pulled over eventually and waited for about 3-4 min. Before restarting the car.it worked again and i was able to drive.the same thing happened last year, and today it happened twice.both times, it was a hot day.

I've uploaded a detailed outline of what has been going on with the car. Please see the document.

The car is slow to heat up and after driving about six to fifteen miles the temperature drops to a very low level.sometime the temperature is so low that it does not show up on the dash gauge.this condition is most prevalent when the outdoor temperature is low.this makes it impossible to defrost the windshield.

"defective transmission" my 2014 nissan versa started sputtering and jerking while driving and now it has gotten to the point where it will not drive properly. There's an issue with the transmission. The problem started in the last few months and after researching it appears this is an ongoing problem with nissan versa vehicles as the manufacturer is repeatedly saling these unsafe defective vehicles. I should not be having a transmission problem with a 2014 purchased vehicle.

The contact owns a 2014 nissan versa. The contact stated that the vehicle overheated while driving down the road and while idling at traffic stops. The contact checked the fluid levels and found no antifreeze in the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for an oil change. The mechanic stated that the air conditioner compressor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. Clay cooley nissan (39690 lyndon b johnson fwy south, dallas, tx 75237, (972) 635-4062) quoted a repair cost of over $1,600. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 83,000.

My 2014 nissan versa s will not exceed 23 miles per hour.it happened first on 12/26/15 and i had it towed to a nissan dealership.they called several hours later saying the car was fine and was unable to find a problem.today it happened again 12/28/15 i was leaving a from a doctor appointment and once again the vehicle would not go faster than 23mph.i drove the vehicle about 3 miles into the nearest nissan dealership and had them drive it so they could see what i meant. They did drive it and said they will give me a loaner car and would diagnose more tomorrow.this is a safety hazard for sure,.

My vehicle shuts off on me when driving and it happens sporadically. Driving on city street loss acceleration wheel locks.

Car cuts off while driving without warning lights or engine lights. In the middle of traffic. Car was in motion but in slow traffic. Also, brakes almost stopped working.

In motion. This car would vibrate while steering (turning) and accelerating, forcing the rmps to flex up without gain of power. The rpma would randomly flex up and down while driving at a maintained speed. Then a day at a store i turn the car on, went to put it in drive an it stalled out- 5 times to get to to move. Then it would stall out while coming to a stop/at a stop/still in gear (drive) so i would have to slam it into neutral when slowing down for a stop or at a stop. Until one day as i was driving i didn't need to completely stop as i turned to another road bc no one was coming, as i used the accelerator to gain my speed the rmp flexed up and down but my speed decreased leading to the car stallling out on side of road. I turned it off then tried to start it and to put it in gear it again stalled out, after that it wouldn't turn over an it got towed to my place where it sits and doesn't start or move, it has 3 recalls come to find out an i contacted nissan which told me to contact the nearest nissan dealership that told me to go call nissan. So pretty much i've gotten zero information an a run around. This car is a safety hazard. I'm lucky i wasn't driving 60mph or more and the engine shuts off and everything locks up. Will be trying to start this car to determine if it should need to be towed 3 hours away from the nearest nissan dealership.

The contact owns a 2014 nissan versa. The contact stated while driving under 5 mph, the engine stalled without warning. The contact was able to restart the vehicle after several attempts. The failure occurred several times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The technician verified the failure but the diagnosis was unknown.the manufacturer has been notified of the problem. The failure mileage was 6,000.

There is a coolant smell coming from the engine, no noticeable signs of a leak .the main coolant tank was full but the overflow was empty.dealer said it was a common smell with no further explanation.after filling the overflow, the smell still persists.the overflow loses about half a cup per month.no overheat or cooling problems noticed.

I purchased a 2014 nissan versa from maita nissan in sacramento (now called sacramento nissan) on september 12, 2014 and i'm just not satisfied. I was backing out of my driveway, and noticed that the vehicle started losing power and steering. The vehicle then shut off while driving. After this incident, i parked the car, and it stopped responding and would no longer turn on.

The engine stalls when the temperature goes over 100 degreed. I have no brakes and it becomes difficult to control.

The contact owns a 2014 nissan versa. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to drive and the malfunction indicator lamp warning indicator illuminated. In addition, the gear shifter failed to shift gears. The vehicle was taken to autonation nissan pembroke pines (located at 8890 pines blvd, pembroke pines, fl 33024, (954) 949-0421) where it was diagnosed, but the contact was not aware of the results. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and did not assist. The approximate failure mileage was 77,000.

While driving my nissan versa i need to let it warm up completely. When i say completely i mean wait about 10-15 min before driving off. If i do not my car will stall when i press the breaks. This has happened many many times. Some times it doesnt but now that it is colder weather it does it more often. If i do leave before it warms up i expect it to stall at the stop sign, light, turn, or traffic. I usually have to kick it into park turn the car off and back on. I will do this multiple times until its warmed up. Sometimes it wont even want to work again until its warmed up so sometimes im just stuck in traffic or the side of the road. Today my car did this several times. I work only about 7 miles from my house and it stalled 5 times.

I started the car and while driving, the check engine light came on. I took it to my mechanic, and was told #p0757 transmission range sensor circuit malfunction ( p r n d l input) # p0705 park/neturak s/w.

This car was purchased new from the car dealer in the spring.when turning on the ac particles came out of the air vents and into my eyes.i wear contact lenses and it temporarily blinded me.luckily, i was able to pull over without incident and get the particles out of my eyes.the particles looked like grass seeds.since then, i always turn on my blower before moving to clear the vents.i went to the dealer and was told that the car does not come equipped with a cabin air filter, even though there is a place for one to be installed.i checked with nissan of america and they confirmed what the dealer said.i told theycheaped out the car and this is a safety issue.the dealer installed a cabin air filter at the cost of ~ $60.00.my concern is that if i had been traveling at highway speeds this incident could have ended very badly and possibly resulting in a fatality.i feel that this is a safety issue and that nissan should be required to equip their cars with cabin air filters.cars build prior to cabin air filters didn't seen to have this problem due to the way they took air into the car.

Went out to start carpush in clutch and car rolled out into street had brake on but did not hold andafter starting motor the brakes worked ok with engine running.. Everytime i start the car if you are on a slope the car will roll and hit something.i checked threw out the day and found that when car is not running you have no brakes. You do not have any power brakes when engine stops they become hard immediately lose power assist not like other cars where you have 2 or 3 applicationsbefore brake loss. If put in a emergency and engine stopped running your brakes would not work and you will hit something causing an accident.i took it to nissan they said they have no solution and good bye.i called nissanheadquarter and they said their tech's said it is ok and normal.

My name is [xxx] my information is [xxx]phone number is [xxx]when i always put a full tank of gas in my car it will not read it right it tells me the same amount when put gas in i was driving home from a town called benton il and i was going around a around about and i made my first right and my brakes when out and i could not get my brakes to work or stop i called the cops when i was in a wreck i hit a light pole in town and the brakes went out for me for 5 seconds but everyone else said it was fine when i know it was not i could not even get my car insurance to look at my brakes to have if fix they payed for everything but the car brakes to get fixed i have to pay them to get it fix with my own money that is bull crap i got 2 check one for the towing for $225 and the check $4,130.00 to get my car fix the but not enough to have the brakes fixed or looked at i want the brakes looked at and fixed without me paying for it or i will sue u guys because of a malfunction in the car.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Nissan north america is recalling 14,595 vehicles, including the 2014 nissan versa sedan, because the engine may shut off unexpectedly while the vehicle is being driven, according to the national highway traffic safety administration.this has happened to me like 10 times...i was driving in city traffic and it wouldn't stay running.it kept turning off.i was afraid i had to much going on wil thepower like a power drain so i turned off my radio and lights and made it home.

I've uploaded a detailed outline of what has been going on with the car. Please see the document.

Started the versa after being parked for at least 30 minutes and was exiting a shopping center.exit requires driving up a significant incline to access busy three lane road.at the crest of the hill, during pause waiting for access point to enter traffic, versa would not move even with excellerator depressed.tried several times and versa instead rolled backwards, gaining momentum while going down hill backwards.brakes failed, pressed all the way to the floor and would not stop car until a curb was hit.later, exiting the same location and crossed in 2 lanes, the versa running but the transmission would not move the car. Zero rpms.car stopped dead in its tracks and would not move even shifting gears trying anything and everything to get out of the oncoming traffic.after several attempts to move the car, the versa died.versa then would not start and only made 'clicking noises'.five people in the car all at risk during this serious drivability concern.once able to restart the car, the trans and engine sinked and versa then drivable.exited the roadway.drove the vehicle in less populated area to the dealership.this all following a complaint to the dealer in may that the transmission was making unusal noises which they claimed was normal for the 2014 cvt.

Car shut off while driving on a city street and couldnt steer.

Car cuts off while driving without warning lights or engine lights. In the middle of traffic. Car was in motion but in slow traffic. Also, brakes almost stopped working.

It has happened many times and had i not had the radio off so i could hear it and have a clutch i would have been in many accidents. The gas peddle goes down to the floor like its being sucked in and doesn't come back up so the engine just screams loud as the car thrusts forward as fast as it can go, so i have to put it in neutral, apply the breaks and keep tapping on the gas peddle all at the same time until the peddle comes back up, which takes about 15 to 30 seconds and if you are right behind another car its just to close of a call and in the mean time your engine is screaming so loud until it comes back up andthen after you can calm down from going into shock, you can continue.it happens when itake off at a green light, entering onto a highway where you have to give it some gas or passing another vehicle, so basically when you have to give some or extra gas.i've had it happen at a green light with another car in front of me only about 20 ft and had to think fast and throw it in neutral or it would have plowed me into that car in front of me.i'm scarred to drive it on trips to go see my kids 100 miles away because it happens more then. It didn't start till it was within the 1st yr but didn't do it again for about 8 months and then like 5 months, now it seems to do it a lot more, so i called nissan and they told me to call you.i need it fixed like now or get them to put me in a new vehicle, please help.

In june, 2017, my 2014 nissan versa jerked and the engine died with no warning while the car was in drive. I had been idling in park with the air conditioning on for approximately 5 minutes prior to this occurring. The temperature outside was between 112-115 degrees in las vegas, nv. Prior to this incident, i had no problems with my versa. It had approximately 15,000 miles on the odometer at this time.

My 2014 nissan versa has a cvt transmission that failed at 54,000 miles.it was replaced with a re-manufactured cvt transmission under warranty.at 122,500, the transmission has failed again.in addition to "shuddering", the car at times will fail to accelerate, causing a potential hazardous situation to myself, passengers and other drivers on the road.on several occasions, the car has failed to accelerate, and i have almost been "t-boned" at busy intersections.i brought my car into the nissan dealer and they confirmed that my transmission was failing, causing the lack of acceleration.i have phoned, emailed, and written to nissan north america (certified mail) warning them about this problem and their response was that my car is out of warranty now and there's nothing they will do about it. I spoke directly with markita scott, arbitration specialist (615-725-7884).i mentioned to her the problems i was having and that the car's failing transmission posed a safety hazard.her reply was the "the car was out of warranty and they could not do anything about it."she repeated that numerous times and seemed not to care about the safety aspect of driving this car.thank you.

The contact owns a 2014 nissan versa. While driving, the vehicle's hood unexpectedly opened. The vehicle was taken to the dealer (capital ford, 4900 capital blvd, raleigh, nc 27616) where a failure could not be determined. The vehicle was not repaired.the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 68,000.

I was driving on a 2 lane highway at 55 mph and came to a four-way stop. I stopped completely and waited for crossing traffic, then pushed on the accelerator. The engine was still running but the transmission would not engage. I was able to ease the car to the side of the road, turned it off and allowed it to cool for about five minutes, then restarted it. This time, the gears engaged, but the car began to shudder before it moved forward.from reading other accounts, it appears that the transmission is failing. This vehicle is just 5 years old and has less than 100k miles on it. After that, i took back roads home, and did not bring the vehicle to a full stop until i reached my house.

Brake failure today while driving. When i pressed the brake, the pedal went all the way down to the floor. The car didn't respond. Thank god i was coming out of a parking lot and not on the busy highway when this happened or it could have been a fatal situation.also experiencing cvt judders and vibrations constantly. Transmission feels like its struggling and will die soon. I only have 39000 miles on the car.

The transmission it started making like whistling noises itslugis wasn't picking up speed it staled itself off it barley moves my cat transmission is defective

Versa transmission started to malfunctioning at around 84,000 miles and not code on dashboard. Called nissan for warranty but they said not in warranty miles anymore. I think nissan should warm buyer and drivers about transmission problem with dashboard indications.

Nissan versa is tugging/misfiring during normal driving. The transmission does not shift properly, rpm gets stuck at around 3500-4500 at about 35-40 mph. Once unstuck, the transmission shifts hard like a crunching sound, which sounds like metal grinding metal, not properly engaging shifting. The mileage is currently at 90k. The issue started around a month ago. The issue has gotten to the point that the vehicle is not safe to drive.

The contact owns a 2014 nissan versa. While driving 60 mph, the vehicle began to shake and stalled without warning. The driver coasted the vehicle over to the side of the road and powered off the engine. The vehicle was restarted, but failed to drive. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence and was later taken to carmax (located at 6100 auto center dr, buena park, ca 90621, (714) 523-2667). The dealer diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was in the process of being repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and provided case number: 34146914. The approximate failure mileage was 87,000.

I recieved the car with a damaged heat shield. I was told that it was fixed yet continued to have problems with it. Lately i have had axel seal leak issues as well as transmission slippage when accelerating.

My transmission is slipping and causing the car to stall in traffic and not going into gear. This is a known issue with nissan's cvtransmissions

Specifically, my transmission is starting to go bad and will need replacing.the cost is 3200. In addition the car is a 2014nissan versa 130,000 miles.i feel after reading my complaints on line about this faulty transmission that nissan continued to install on many vehicles and endangering the owners lives nissan should either recall my car or replace the transmission at their cost .

Bought the 2014 nissan versa in 2013.took good care of it.had 72,000 miles on it and the transmission went in early sept. 2018. Many of the miles were small trip highway miles, not even city miles.nissan did not do anything to help.rather than put the $3,880.00 into it i traded it in.i expected it to last another 5 years and feel nissan screwed me, and from what i am now hearing, a lot of other people too.

Vehicle has started to lose acceleration power. Started hesitating to accelerate and took long to shift (this is an automatic transmission) got on the interstate and car started jerking and would not go past 10-15 mph. Pulled over, brought gears back down to the park position, but that only made it worse. Car would not shift into gear and has been stuck now for a week. Started research on vehicle and learned many other vehicles within this class are experiencing the same problem. Nissan dealership has told me that they are not responsible and will not fix. Why not?? they apparently built a faulty vehicle. They should fix the problem. Looks like i'll be getting a lawyer.

The car turns off while driving and waiting at a stop sign or red light.studdering occurs with exceleration. There is also an electrical draw somewhere. If the car is not driven in 3 days, the battery must be jump started.we have replaced the battery. This has been an ongoing problem since 2017

A recall job, transmission computer upgrade, was completed by tracy nissan dealership and now my nissan versa will go no faster than 10 mph.no indications of transmission failure were displayed upon completion of the recall correction.this car is only six years old with approximately 102,640 miles.a complaint has been logged with nissan, but my efforts have been ineffective thus far.the car was driven to the tracy nissan dealership on 10/20/2020 and kept over night.on 10/21/2020, the recall was complete and the nissan was driven away.less than 20 minutes later, the transmission experienced a catastrophic failure while driven on the freeway.the car would go no faster than 10 mph.on the same date, 10/21/2020, the nissan was towed back, at my expense, to the dealership where it is currently located pending discissions with nissan.

My husband and i were driving home after buying groceries, we were in a very busy street, when the car stopped accelerating. This was very dangerous since there was people behind us and next to us. It was hard to move to pull over. Finally we learned our transmission (cvt) was broken. This will cost us almost as much as we paid for the car. All this happened as we reached 65,000 miles. And conveniently enough, the warranty only covers up to 60,000.

The contact owns a 2014 nissan versa. While driving 35 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was able to restart, but was not accelerating. The vehicle was towed to the dealer for diagnostic testing where it was determined that the power train failed. The failure mileage was 107,149.

Car started acting up about two weeks ago had the car for a year and a half now when i drive it accelerates very slowly and when i brake it makes this rumbling noise when the car is turned on as well there is a clicking sound that is very loud when i accelerate also and turn on the engine had the car checked twice by two different mechanical places and they test drove on both occasions and they said its coming from the transmission stated i should take it to nissan to get it looked at feel it's to short of a time for the transmission to be acting up if that because the car has been maintained with oil changes and has the proper maintenance since purchased

The contact owns a 2014 nissan versa. While driving 75 mph, the check engine warning indicator illuminated and the vehicle decelerated. When the vehicle was turned off, it failed to restart; however, the electrical system was still operable. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where the contact was informed that the transmission failed. The dealer and manufacturer were not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 75,000.

Previously, the transmission of my vehicle was affected when the motherboard of a tail lamp malfunctioned.i was informed by the nissan service agent that this caused a signal to be sent to the transmission that indicated the vehicle should be going in reverse.this causes the transmission to falter and the car stutters and/or stalls while trying to accelerate.i have looked up a few accidents, which appear to have been caused by a failure to accelerate, but no one has looked into the tail lamp assembly, because no one would think it would have an impact.i have also spoken with an electrical engineering expert who stated that it is possible for electrical malfunctions to impact the transmission, since the bulk of the wiring is hooked up to it instead of the battery.now my car is once again experiencing this potentially life threatening issue.however, while it is a known issue, there are no recalls or repair tickets for the tail lamps which cause the problem.in newer tail lamp assemblies, the issue has been fixed.however, the original motherboards with the 2014 nissan versa body style can start to malfunction at any time.

Car stalling , losing speed , due to failing cvt transmission

Bought this versa brand new in 2014. Had cvt recall work done in 2016. Shortly after work was completed, vehicle started to experience extreme shuddering after a complete stop and during take off. Vehicle shifts from gear to gear hard and with a jerk. It will barely accelerate after a stop. Took to mechanic to have transmission flushed, hoping this would help and was notified that there were transmission issues that a flush would not help. Taking to a nissan mechanic for a diagnostic. Vehicle has 106,000 miles, but is used only for long stretches of highway commutes.the vehicle has been taken care of very well, with all scheduled maintenance at appropriate intervals. It should not be experiencing transmission issues this early. It feels like this car is a throwaway vehicle.

My nissan versa 2014 had to have the transmission replaced with only a little over 80,000 mile's on it. After research this is a known issue for nissan crv transmissions for vehiclesincluding my make and model. The vehicle was in motion at the time of the issue on a secondary roadway.

Gearshift will not come out of park, have to manually unlock the gearshift with a paper clip; car will not accelerate correlational to the gas pedal, and the rpms go really highon inclines/hills...nissan saying not responsible/no recalls, but i'm still getting 'claims notices' from gm economic settlement claims center...the nissan dealership told me to "disregard" the notices coming in the mail....

My 2014 nissan versa cvt transmission is hesitating, failing to accelerate, and acting erratically.this is causing unsafe driving conditions.on 2 separate occasions, i and my son were almost "t-boned" while pulling out into a busy intersection.the cvt, at times, fails to accelerate properly, putting driver at risk.this car has 122,500 miles on the odometer.the original cvt transmission failed at 65,000 and the replacement cvt transmission is now failing.i brought my car into my dealer, nissan autofare stratham, and they informed me that i need a new cvt transmission.i have since sent certified letter to nissan north america notifying them of this.i spoke to markita scott, arbitration specialist/dispute resolution for nissan north america.she didn't seem to really care about the safety aspect, and stated nissan would not do anything for me even though this new transmission failed at just 55,000 miles. I believe this is a manufacturing/design flaw with this particular cvt transmission as i had 2 failed transmissions in just 122,000 miles.i also believe that these failures represent a significant safety hazard and the research i done indicates this particularproblem is widespread.there's a class action lawsuit pending against nissan for this cvt problem with this particular model.thank you.

Transmission problem: i bought the car brand new for my daughter july 2013. Last year it started having problems shifting gears. This year the problem got worse. We received a recall card in the mail stating to bring it in to the nearest dealership because of the transmission. The recall was only for reprogramming the computer. After bringing it in, the car shut down on her as she was driving home. I'm thankful we live in a small town. I called nissan's corporate office to complain. A representative named patrick (615) 725-7359 was assigned my complaint.. He said there was nothing he could do because the warranty had expired. I still have a year left to pay for the car. Nissan dealership charged $2990 to fix the car. I have read so many complaints about the transmission in these cars and safety hazards. Nothing is being done!!

I am a current customer of a dealership in gainesville, florida. I have bought at least 2 brand new nissan vehicles from them . I was planning to buy another nissan now that i just retired. However with this experience i am going to look somewhere for my new vehicle other than a nissan.this nissan versa note i bought it in november 2013. I never had any problems with any brand car makes before 5 years after purchase.the dealership wants to "fix" the cvt problem at $ 4000.00!everyone is aware of the cvt programming problem with this model. Even nissan issued a service bulletin to try to fix it.! at no avail.my advice, stay away from nissan vehicles!.

Shifting from low to overdrive loses power dramatically. Takata recall my versa is in motion on surface streets and highway travel! it feels as if my transmission is going to drop on the ground. Serios vibrations throughout the entire vehicle and extreme deceleration!

Around 68000 miles, i first noticed problems with my transmission. It was not shifting properly, revving high and i often had to manipulate the gas pedal to get the transmission to shift up. Keep in mind, this versa is equipped with a cvt, thus this transmission is supposed to have very gradual "gear" changes. I then started to notice that sometimes, when accelerating, the car would sometimes jolt around before it got up to speed. This jolting occurred at red lights, freeway on-ramps, etc. Nissan's warranty expires 60,000 miles, and i never experienced any problems before 60,000 miles, however transmissions shouldn't die after 68,000 miles, like mine was going to. I initially took my car in around 68,000 miles to have the technicians look for the problem, but they claimed they couldn't recreate the issue. Then, i took my transmission in for routine transmission fluid exchange service at around 71,000 miles, and the technicians noticed shavings in the transmission fluid catch pan. This is when they finally noticed the problem and told me that the transmission needed replacing. This is about a $5,000 repair. Luckily, i had mechanical breakdown insurance from my auto insurance, thus i won't need to pay that full cost, but if i hadn't had that, i would have a car that would be dangerous to drive on roadways.

The contact owns a 2014 nissan versa. While driving on several occasions, the engine stalled and lost power. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to hayward nissan (24644 mission blvd, hayward, ca 94544 (510) 372-2800) where no diagnostic failure codes were found and the failure could not be replicated. The vehicle was taken to autocom nissan of concord (1290 concord ave, concord, ca 94520 (925) 275-5634) where it was diagnosed that the cvt transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but did not offer any assistance. The approximate failure mileage was 140,000.

Transmission was replaced at 101000 miles, the new transmission failed at 109000 miles.nissan will not repair it again.the first transmission had problems shifting to higher gears.the second transmission failed after backing out of my driveway.it would not move forward.

2014 nissan versa cvt transmission...we bought this car brand new from the dealer has been nothing but a pain transmission blew out at 70 thousand miles. I had it serviced at 60 thousand for all fluids and filters dealer told me it was in great condition i was mid way home from dropping my niece off home and the versa started slipping gears and shuddering i almost caused a 5 car accident if i hadn't pulled out the way of the car behind me. Imagine if i had my niece in the car what could have happened if we did crash because of the problem and nissan will not take any responsibility for the problem. They want 3800.00 to fix it. I am one of thousands of victims of nissan not recalling there cars knowing they put out a horrible and dangerous product out on the roads.

I purchased a 2014 nissan versa in 2016 and two years later, the transmission is shot.the dealer confirmed it was the transmission.

My car have 117 k miles and tha tranzmition is bad all tha nissan car are like tha

When accelerating from a stop my car will shutter and almost stall. This is especially unnerving when turning left.this happens almost every time. Another issue i've had,is my car starts moving while at a stop light and my foot is fully on the brake.

Symptoms ' car driven today about 100 miles.engine shutoff for gas up.on restart theengine came on,but no power when in gear.press of accelerator but car barely moved.shutdown and turn back on and got a little power. Looked at the brake lights and those do not come on when brake pedal depressed.lights checked and are good bulbs.the engine idled smoothly, the transmission was properly functioning and engaged. There was no response to any movement from on the foot pedal to the engine in any gear, including neutral and park. Again, the engine idled smoothly, the transmission engaged properly when shifted from park to drive, etc. Had this same issue about 5 months ago.when taken to dealer, nissanmechanic noted the no brake lights and got those to come back on. Once the brake lights worked, the issue suddenly was gone. Versawas brought in for no power and the cruise control kept disengaging. There seems to be some connection between the cruise contorl module, the brake module and the power train. Acts as if the computer controlis getting signals that basically disconnects the acceleration signals, or is causing the cvt transmission to disconnect, even though we can shift through th gears with no problem.just won't get any acceleration at all.

Engine stalls not shifting properly. Stuck in gears.

We recently (2 nov) purchased a 2014 nissan versa with the 5 speed transmission ,our problem is with down shifting from 5th to 4th . When shifting from 5th to 4th the shifter will randomly lock up and you have to coast to the side of the road and physical move the shifter in every direction till you can shift again or if you?re lucky as you?re coasting and fighting with the shifter it pops loose andyou can shift into a lower gear.it seems like the shift linkage locks up and the car won?t go fully into 4th. My wife has taken off work twice and attempted to have the car repaired at our local nissan dealer (leglue nissan, alexandria, la).both times she has been she told by the service manager after a short test drive nothing is wrong with the car, all the 2014 versas shift like that. We have contacted nissan consumer affairs and received a similar answer basically that they are aware thatthe versa has a hard downshift from 5th to 4th but that this is normal for the vehicle.also, let me at this time alleviate any concern about us being unfamiliar with the operation of a manual transmission vehicle.we presently own four passenger vehicles with manual transmissions, one being a 2009 versa with the 5 speed transmission which has never given us a problem and several pieces of farm machinery and between both of us have over 70 years of experience operating them.

Vehicle hesitates and cuts off while driving. Check engine light is on and says there's a transmission issue

I was on a city street and stopped for the red light. When the light changed and i pressed the gas it would move. I slowly got it to move, but once i had to slow down again and put my foot on the gas it would barely move and the car in back of me almost hit me. While in motion it would become where putting my foot on the gas would be in vain. That happened several times and i could hardly make it to my home. Once i tried to back up i could hear a sound from the transmission. I'm not sure if it's the transmission supports or something else. I was not able to make it to get checked out because i was afraid of getting into an accident. The car is a 2014 nissan versa sv and has 79,589 total miles today. It was a very scary situation. This is very unsafe because it happened without warning.

Faulty transmission. Replaced twice in 2 years. Nissan doesn't want to be responsible for 2nd transmission. It cost $3,700 a transmission replacement.

I purchased the car in 2018 at over 72k and it is now 94k, the transmission is bad now.everytime i hit the gas, the rpm jumps up to 4000-5000.eats up all the gas quickly.sometimes it would shake when i let go of the gas pedal.it started july 2019 and per mechanic, i will need to get rid of the car.

I purchased this car brand new and have been unsatisfied ever since.the car seems to have a transmission problem. The transmission is loud and seems to lag when i'm attempting to accelerate. Even at low speeds, it's loud.i also smell coolant on a regular basis and the car shifter makes a loud clunking sound when reversing whether i'm on a flat surface or in the drive way. This is not characteristic of a "brand new" vehicle and it needs to be looked into and recalled.

Cvt not shifting into lower gear at high rpms.

I purchased this vehicle from a nissan dealership in november of 2018. I noticed at the end of january 2019that the vehicle was having problems 'shifting' gears, accelerating and the rpms would rev, but the car would not function properly. It tugged, and jerked. I took it to the same dealership's service department in february 2019. I was advised that there were no error codes showing up and they could not duplicate the problem, and that the vehicle was and i quote 'totally fine and safe to drive.then on march 28, 2019 the vehicle started having worse acceleration issues, this time also at slower speeds. The vehicle would stall out and not accelerate after coming to a stop at a stop sign or light. No error lights were present. It would keep jerking, and tugging. A lour whirling noise was also heard. I had it towed to the same dealership, the next day they informed me that the transmission was blown, and would need to be completely replaced. It would cost approximately $4200 to repair. I paid $5600 cash for this vehicle in november 2018.

The contact owns a 2014 nissan versa. The contact stated that the gears slipped on several occasions. The contact also stated that while driving at approximately 20 mph, the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was able to restart. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who was unable to replicate the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was included in nhtsa campaign number: 15v507000 (service brakes, hydraulic, vehicle speed control). The contact mentioned that the recall remedy repair was schedule for mid october of 2015. The failure mileage was not available.

Vehicle is tugging and misfiring. Vehicle does not accelerate efficiently from a start position or while driving and when reaching around 20 mph the rpm's increase and do not come down. I need to switch the car to neutral for it to switch gears. But then at around 50-60 mph the rpm's do not drop and the car starts tugging and misfiring. This happens while driving in the city and becomes worse when driving in highways or freeways.

When put in park and key out of ignition the car will not shut off. The car continues to run for hours. It will eventually run out of gas and hopefully shut off.

The contact owns a 2014 nissan versa. The contact stated that while turning at various speeds, the vehicle lost acceleration power. The vehicle was taken to the dealer but the failure could not be duplicated or diagnosed. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 560. Updated 06/10/14 mathe consumer stated there was a hesitation when accelerating from a stopped position or when slowly accelerating. Updated 07/23/14

Problems with transmission. Rpm go very high and it won't switch gears, then after struggling it will switch gear but jerk the car very hard and you can hear it switch very hard. It does does in the street and highway. Makes me very concerned about getting on a highway and my transmission failing to switch to higher gears and other cars hitting me for not being able to go into faster speeds. The vehicle is not even at the 50k miles yet.

Car transmission made complete stop and not allow me to move several times

The car doesn't accelerate when taking off sometime. It sometimes wiil not go over 40 mph. Its coding a input speed sensor inside of the transmission

The problem in my car is ethier the transmission or transmission control module. The transmission started slipping and then suddenly on the hey of 395 north bound it simply just wouldn't do anything it had no reaction at all right in the middle of the freeway and there i was stuck people at 65-70 miles an hour whizzing by me not to mention simi trucks.tge reason i am writing is i looked up the problem at it is a very common problem with this year and make of the car. I went to nissan here in reno nv and they will not honor the recall sayes it is because of a branded title. The car had been wrecked only damaging the front bumper. Nothing to the motor or transmission was rebuilt but because it had previously been turned in as an insurance claim nissan of reno will not honor the recall. Any damage that was done was cosmetic not to the motor or transmission. I would like to know if nissan should honor the recalls on my vehicle. It has 98,000 miles on it and falls under the 10 year under 120,000 miles. The service person i talked to treated me like i was dumb and pretty much pushed me out the door and told me that they don't have to honor it. I am tempted to get ahold of previous owner to see if his insurance claim had anything to do with this transmission issue. It has one complaint after another on youtube over this very issue. Please help me i don't know what to do. Thank you.

Cvt slips, throttles, make clunking noise.

Problems accelerating, losing power, sputtering stalling out, jerking when shifting gears, loud clank when putting in drive.

I was driving up a hill in ventura when the car lost power and started to roll backwards.prior to that the car would jerk like it would go into gear and would hesitate.finally the car would go forward and i had to stop at vons for the car to be towed.i was 58 miles from home.it was really scary but i was fortunate there were no other cars behind me and the car did not run off the ledge.

Transmission went out with only 67,000 miles on the car. Could have caused a very serious problem if i was driving on the expressway. If nissan is knowingly selling cars with defective or substandard components should not be allowed.

I have a 2014 nissan versa. I got this car new and every year since owning this car there has been a issue with the transmission. Nissan has had at least 3 recalls on the transmission. It has gotten to the point that the transmission is beyond repair on a 5 year old car. The transmission sensor and transmission has malfunctioned. The car will stall for a second before going into gear. Mechanic shops said i need nissan to repair this or put me in a new car! i am complaining because i am in a death trap vehicle that i am still required to make payments on. I am having to pay high maintenance fees and car payments. In a car that can get me killed. Nissan knows something is wrong with these 2014 cars but has not reached out to me about it. They recalled some 2014 versas but not all. I strongly believed i was sold a highly unsafe car. There's no reason why a new car should have transmission issues every year on a new car.

On 10/11/2016 my cars check engine light came on for the first time ever since i bought the car, while i was driving home from work on the freeway, my car would shift hard trying to get into a higher gear and then when i pressed on the gas pedal you could hear the car accelerate but it would not shift and aside of the check engine light coming on that is why i brought it into the dealership and they diagnosed it as well as found out there was an outstanding recall on the cvt program in that year make and model of car. Mind you this is the first i hear of such recall when i have had this car for over a year and this such recall came out on 08/12/2015. I never received anything via mail, email, or phone. I have not changed my address nor phone number in years so i don't see why they did not get in contact with me or my dad. I believe that if this was taken care of last year when this all came about i would not have to be in this situation where they treating me with such disrespect and as if i don't know my rights as a customer. I was given the run around at one dealership and the other dealership was "on my side" and all i want is my car to be fixed and not be taken advantage of because i am a female.

The cvt transmission left my daughter stranded in orlando fl. She lives in jacksonville fl. 2.5 hours away. The car would not accelerate when she tried to get on the highway to head home after class. Went down to orlando with my truck, rented a tow dolly from u-haul and towed the car back to jacksonville fl. I am a ase certified technician. I connected my ($600.00) launch cr129 pro scanner . It does obdii, abs, srs, transmission. No codes no matter how it drove. After 3 days of troubleshooting i decided to take it to the dealer. They diagnosed it as the cvt transmission and it needs a new one at the cost of $3800.00. The car has 66,000 miles and is a 2014. Filed a complaint with nissan and was turned down for any help. This is a major problem with jatco transmissions, the manufacturer knows it, nissan knows it, mitsubishi & subaru both use the same jatco transmission and have similar problems. The issues are wide spread over multiple car manufacturers and all of them are not taking responsibility for the problems. A 2014 with 66000 miles should not need a transmission. It is a safety hazard plain and simple.

The cvt transmission has been known since 2004 to have major problems. The car needs a new transmission it has been slipping when driving and it wont down shift when you get going. Nissan has many lawsuits against them but they wont help me at all.

I was reaching for something in my glove box with my seat belt fastened when my belt broke at the connection to the frame. It looks like it was just glued and the glue came loose. The vehicle was in motion at the time.

I had to stop real quick to avoid hitting a stray dog running across the street. I fell forward the sterring wheel. My seat belt was loose. The seat belt cover on the driver's side had to be replaced because it popped off and would cut my arms or hands whenever i had to reach in back to lock or unlock back door.that was finally completed approx. 2 weeks ago. By a nissan dealer. However, it stated on the work order. They did it the best way- they could. Last night, 8/4/2015, i used the seat belt and it was loose when i put it on and never got any tighter, even if i tried to move around the front seat. With or without brakes it never tightens up if i make a sudden stop.. I have other problems with this car, but this is dangerous to me. I contacted the dealer and they refused to work on it-orders from above. My brakes act crazy since they did that recall system and now this(plus my other problems). Seat belts are a must in my car. How can i tell my passengers to wear theirs when mine just hang on me. This is big safety issue.

Me and my spouse were rear ended last night at a red light. Neither of the airbags functioned and her seatbelt didn't hold her to her seat, causing her to impact the dashboard with her face. Her nose is broken and she also has hematomas on her eyes and forehead.

Vibrations felt through the steering column, seats and floor, whenever car is in gear and stopped at a light or idle. Vibration gets worse when ac or defrost is turned on. It goes away when i put the car in neutral. However car takes some time to move when shifting back to drive, and this can cause someone to hit you from behind. Taken to the dealer 3 times. I was told that this vibration is completely normal and there is nothing that can be done. Very disapointed to say the least.

Car cuts off while driving without warning lights or engine lights. In the middle of traffic. Car was in motion but in slow traffic. Also, brakes almost stopped working.

"nissan recall"within my 1-year warranty, i've repeatedly asked for assistance on my nissan vehicle through the dealership i purchased my car from; toyota town of stockton. March 14th, 2016, i, [xxx], asked for help. Received some kind of help, however ended up as no help at all. An employee there referred me to another employee there to take a look at my car; however, ended up test driving it. He supposedly had not heard the unpleasant noises that i was referring to. He then suggested changing my brakes and rotors. I went out my way after that day and changed my brakes. The noise was still there. I gave up on them giving me the run around. September 7th, 2016; i, [xxx], was driving on the streets when suddenly when i lightly pushedonto the brakes, the vehicle had merged to the left, which caused me to hit against the curb of an island. It caused both tires on the drivers side to blow out and bent my rims also. I had no way of getting back home with my car. I had to call a friend to come help me out in an unfortunate situation. I had to wait until the 12th of september to get both tires and rims replaced. What should my next steps be?information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

While driving at 35 miles/her i almost hit the car in front of her my brake suddenly failed on march 2, 2016 and i had to push the brake all the way to floor. It worked normally after that but had a same problems a few more times on march 3, 2016. I took it to the nissan dealer on march 3, 2016 and i was told that it was master brake cylinder failure. It just has 46250 miles and i am waiting for the master cylinder replacement.

When car is in motion the brakes will not work and it slides.the abs and traction control lights come on and the speedometer jumps.i've had 2 mechanics look at it and they say its because the axle nut backs off.took it to gunter nissan on 6/6/19 and they refused to service it saying i had to contact nissan corporate but nissan corporate says i have to take it to a dealership.

I've uploaded a detailed outline of what has been going on with the car. Please see the document.

I was approaching a stop light.as i approached the stop light i began to gradually apply the brakes to slow down, but the pedal went to the floor and the brakes did not engage. The pedal felt like normal resistance was there when pushing on it with my foot, but the brakes did not work to slow the vehicle.i quickly removed my foot from the brake, looked at my feet to make sure i was on the brake, then slammed the brakes and the pedal once again went to the floor. While my foot was still on the brake the brakes engaged and locked up about 2 to 3 seconds after slamming on the brakes. Once i realized the brakes weren't working i did not have time to avoid hitting the car in front of me and i rear-ended them. As i followed the vehicle that i hit to pull to the side of the road, the brakes still were not working properly. When pushing on the brake pedal it would engage, but not with the normal level of resistance. By the time i arrived at the location we were going to pull over at the brakes were working normally.we contacted nissan consumer affairs about the incident and they said they would not conduct an investigation unless the car was inspected by a dealership. The dealership inspected it and said that they could not find anything wrong with the brakes. We checked back with nissan consumer affairs and they said they would not move forward with an investigation and would not do anything unless a recall was issued. The dealership told us that the vehicle sustained over $6,000 worth of damage and that the frame is damaged.

The contact owns a 2014 nissan versa. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 20 mph, the brake pedal was depressed and failed to respond without warning. As a result, the contact's vehicle crashed into the rear of another vehicle. The air bags did not deploy. A police report was filed and there were no injuries. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic and the cause of the failure was undetermined. I was leaving work on private property and a 19-year-old hit the side of my car on passenger side with her manual truck.nothing deployed, she slammed me very hard and the car should be totaled, it is over half what the car is worth at this time.body shop repairs are 5,658 plus another 500.00 for deductible, plus 282.92.the car is not worth that much and should have been totaled.now, i have problems with it on a constant basis.

While driving at 55 mph, needed to brake in order to avoid an accident. There was not enough room to switch foot quickly from gas to brake pedal. Rear ended the car in front of me and totaled my nissan versa. An emergency room visit was necessary. We learned about the recall last week through a mailing to our house. We bought the car 'used' through car max, so it took awhile for the recall notice to find us.

The contact owns a 2014 nissan versa. While the vehicle was at a complete stop, the brake pedal was depressed and traveled abruptly to the floorboard. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 4,000.

The vin number is [xxx] i purchased a 2014 nissan versa from maita nissan in sacramento (now called sacramento nissan) and i'm just not satisfied. This car does not at all sound like a new car. I drove it off the lot with 9 miles on it, but immediately noticed how difficult it is for the transmission to smoothly get into gear. It's loud and almost sounds like it's completely broken. When i put the car in reverse i hear a loud clunking sound whether it's on a flat surface or in the driveway. I've discussed hearing this sound before 4 different times and also went to the nissan service department 4 times. I'm being told nothing is wrong. I didn't purchase a "brand new" car to have all of these problems. I called nissan consumer affairs and advised them about the issues and requested a buy back. After waiting 3 weeks for an answer, they advised me on 4/9/15 that they are not going to accommodate my request.i feel this car has an unsafe transmission and braking system.please investigate this issue.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Passenger airbag light comes on for no reason saying it's off.when braking pedal will slowly lose pressure and go down, letting car proceed forward.read there was a defective o-ring problem in brake cylinder.has occurred since i purchased the car june 2013 brand new, brought back to dealer next week was told nothing was wrong.

2 separate occasions the abs has failed to function and has locked the wheels up solid until the pedal was released and depressed again. Also the air conditioning when on makes car pulse to the point that at a stop unless you are full depressed on brake the car will lurch forward as compressor kicks on.

Step daughter stated brake pedal went completely to the floor without engaging the brakes causing her to crash into the back of another vehicle.

Returning from state line my mother and two aunts where driving back to la on the freeway when trafic slowed before approaching a downhill grade when my aunt went to brake when the brake system was a total failure. The brake pedal went all the way to the flor. She then continued to pump the brakes still not stoping she put the car on nuetral and pulled on the shoulder and waited for the car to slow down. When the car stoped they brakes were still not working. The car stoped when they entered an uphill off ramp. They then called aaa and towed the car back to my house. The very next day july 6 i took my mothets car to the dealer and told them what happen n they proceeded to check the car onky to find "client stayesat time brake is hard/padel gors to the floor" then it says "test brake system, ok. No leak. Unable to diplocate this problem at this time."i did some reasearch and found articles related to the 2014 nissan versa break failures and proceded to this website. Heres my question what if the next time a nissan versa brake failuresresults in a major accident or loss of life. My mother this nissan versa im describing with incident is my mothers. Recall it and make it safe to drive. It will continue to fail you and i both know it will.

After driving on highway or interstate with no brake use the brakes howl very loudly when applied the first few stops. The howling has gotten worse, the stopping power is good and there is no brake fade, no pulsing in the pedal. Nissan refuses to fix under warranty saying brakes are a wear item, but my milage is all highway and interstate with very little brake useage.

Vehicle moves abruptly left and right when there are no grooves or wind at highway speeds. It's very dangerous and cannot be driven on the freeway safely. Nissan test drove vehicle. Acknowledged the problem and said that's just how the vehicle is and there is nothing they can do to fix it.

Car shut off while driving on a city street and couldnt steer.

Drivingdown the highwayi found that the car would move sideways 1 and a half feet on a non windy day.when driving on the freewayand you are on concrete the car tracks 1.5 feetsidewaysright or left.when driving on a day when the wind is 30mph you get 3 to 4 feet drift right or left. Taking the car to nissan for repair they found that yes it did drift and blamed it on the road and that nissan had on fix.i do have 2 other cars which have the same size tires that do not do the change lane action that is with this car is doing. Other people said they noticed it to. There will be a time when the car next to you will get damaged due to this action .i `called nissan headquarterthey had no fix.and said it might be the tires.nissan put the tires on the car.

The contact owns a 2014 nissan versa. The contact stated that there was a front end issue with the steering on the vehicle. The steering wheel locks up when engine is shut off. When i place they key into the ignition, the steering wheel remains locked, preventing the switch to turn. It takes a great amount of effort and strain to unlock the steering wheel. This has happened on more than one occasion. My car has 2200 miles on it currently (09/29/2014). I took my car to the nissan dealership. They advised me (my interpretation of their advice) to wrestle with it until it unlocks. Didn't help my situation. I will continue to return to nissan until they fix it.

The car on cold days and some not cold days, and could just had sat for a couple of days, would feel/hear crunching sound (like metal bars beginning to dislodge or something of that nature) under the floor board after acceleration and car starts to move. This is only on driver side. It does not happen every time. I have taken it to the dealership numerous times and reported this to have it looked after. To no avail, the crunching problem is yet to be discovered by a service man. They have yet to find the problem.it has been reported for check-up and documented many and every time i have oil changes as well. I have been reporting this problem to the dealership since 12/2013 and now here it is march 2015 the problem still exist.

While i was driving one day my foot was on the gas, cars in front of me were coming to a sudden stop. I went to remove my foot from the gas to brake and my shoe was stuck in the plastic area near the gas pedal. I had to snatch it out. Some how the plastic snagged on to my shoe. This was not the first or last time, but the scariest. I've had the vehicle since february this year, 2014. ... Updated 03/19/15

Stopped at parking lot booth which was placed within one foot of sidewalk, preventing straightening of front wheels, which were turned to the left following a left turn into the lot. After payment through passenger window, i placed a foot on the accelerator resulting in sudden unexpectedly rapid acceleration andalurch of the car to the left with almost immediate impact with a concrete cylindric post placed opposite the risen entrance gate within 2 feet of the front of the previously stationary car.the force was such to bend the rim of the front l wheel, striking of my head against the windshield, and the fracture of 2 metatarsals likely from impact with the brake.

Driving to ala. From ga. Had difficult time seeing out windows and windshield due to condensation building up inside on the drivers side, passenger side, and windshield. It was raining & diff in temp., had to stop several times and wipe off with cloth towels. Went to dealership to get radio replaced and showed them the trunk was wet (carpet showed rings) and the right drivers door had big gap between the front of the car and door frame area - it is separating from the frame on both sides. The front doors on both sides are below the back doors and the gaps are increasing whenever i drive the car. Inside the windshield seal plastic has started to peel off twice. The wiper blades has been replaced three times because they just start to tear in small areas. All of this has been brought and seen by the service dept. Even when the moisture collects inside during a rain shower (defroster won't prevent this) . They have refused to fix the leak in the trunk or the doors.i am scared that one of the doors will fall off.the gap has increased in 6 weeks you can stand 2 ft. Away and see the screws. I can hardly lock the car (manually). No nissan dealership will fix it within 120 miles. I do not know why. The manufacturer knows this and it is under warranty. Also, there is a awful smell when i start it within the system, but they said it was me not the car.

After being ready to back up i place the 2014 versa in reverse.i touched the accelerator and started to back up and when i tried to move my foot from the accelerator to the brake pedal my foot was caught on somethingand i was actually added pressure on the accelerator.i backed up and i tried to swing the car away from the parked rental cars behind me. Was able to pull my foot of the accelerator and pushed the shifter into park. I hit three cars when i was backing up.we damaged our rear facia and the rear facias of the three cars i hit and it also damaged the rear passenger door of last car i hit.while examining the damage of form the accident a supervisor from the rental company said we shouldn't feel so bad since one of their drivers had done something similar but only damaged the car that he was moving. At first i didn't know what could have caused it and then i saw the recent ntsb issues for this.i also check all of my other cars. Those cars do not have a gap between the floor board and the side of the consel. I have not got to a local dealership to see if the condition exists on current models.the model year might not be correct i was just trying to remember is this was a 14 or 15.the vin i got from the insurance company so it has to be what ever comes from there.

The contact owns a 2014 nissan versa. During inclement, rainy weather, the contact heard the sound of water swishing around near the front passenger side of the vehicle. The contact noticed water inside the vehicle. The contact was unable to determine when the failure would occur. The vehicle was taken to the dealer more than twice, but they failed to identify the cause of the failure. The manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 22,000.

My car jerks when i put it in drive.also, when i let push for the gas, it jerks.this is when i first get off the gas.then when i get to fourty miles, it jerks again.my malfunction lamp light comes on.i took it at one of the auto zones in fayetteville nc.the associate check it with a machine.it came up p285a clutch b pressure disengagement performance.then, i took it to a certified mechanic.he checked it with his machine, he said it is my transmission. I feel nissan should fix my transmission.

There is no trunk release inside the car's cab! no button or pull lever only way in is with the key. What if a small child shut the trunk and was not able to comprehend the lever inside the trunk? very very dangerous for anyone who may drive this car even a locksmith had to completely disassemble the back seat of the car to gain entry. This is no way acceptable and i will never drive/own any car that does not have trunk switch/button/lever ever again! i cannot put in words how disappointed i am with the person who passed a vehicle with the only way into the trunk is with a key! the car was rented from fox rental car from the orlando fl location pictures may be provided upon formal request. Upon returning the car we notified the manager of that location of this issue as well.

The right strut spring broke and pierced the sidewall of the tire.the car was parked in my driveway.sure glad i wasnt driving the car down the road and had an accident it could have been bad.

Versa transmission started to malfunctioning at around 84,000 miles and not code on dashboard. Called nissan for warranty but they said not in warranty miles anymore. I think nissan should warm buyer and drivers about transmission problem with dashboard indications.

I have a nissan versa with no heat when it is cold i have bought in to the nissan dealer 3x . This car is dangerous because does not have enough heat to keep the windows clear in slow or ice. I am told all versa have the same problem. This is dangerous and i expect this to be acted on. The picture is after driving for ten miles

Car needs a new transmission. Suddenly stalled while i was driving on the street.

* car hesitates when the gas pedal is pressed at a complete stop and then jolts forward*it takes longer than normal for the car to start moving when gas pedal is pressed* when i try to speed up to pass on the freeway it takes a long time to get up to speed

I recieved the car with a damaged heat shield. I was told that it was fixed yet continued to have problems with it. Lately i have had axel seal leak issues as well as transmission slippage when accelerating.

My vehicle shuts off on me when driving and it happens sporadically. Driving on city street loss acceleration wheel locks.

When accelerating from a stop, the car bounces or vibrates, then i have to take my foot off the accelerator sothe gears will change,i can't afford to get this fixed so i live with it, the car has 15,340miles on it can you help me?

The heat shield covering the exhaust underneath the vehicle has cracked in several places and was replaced 2 times. The cracking occurs where the heat shield is held to the body of the vehicle by screws and bolts. The washers and bolts are too small for the predrilled holes and causes stress fractures at the hole. This causes the heat shield to come loose and rattle against the exhaust. There are other models with similar heat shields with the same problem as the materials are the same. The rattle causes distracted driving as well as poses a potential safety hazard if the entire unit were to fall off while driving. It could cause unsafe vehicle operation or hit another vehicle.

The transmission it started making like whistling noises itslugis wasn't picking up speed it staled itself off it barley moves my cat transmission is defective

Tire purchased from dealership 1 year ago, tire tread separated, nearly causing blowout, while in motion on highway. Had i not taken precautions i could have been killed. Precautions taken due to on the job safety professional driving skills. Tires are called nexen and are sold by nissan dealership in corpus christi, texas. Dot # dot8elx

"transmission"i had no awareness of my car having problems but always knew something was wrong it would do this jerking motion or accelerate on its own and when it stalled on my when i pushed on the gas the mechanic told my my transmissions shot and that nissan had a recall on transmissions.i always kept my car up to date and routinely checked. Its only a 2014.

Defaulted transmission should be a recallhave had to replace the transmission twice since purchase

Transmission going out. Jerking while driving and shutting off.

In my 2014 nissan versa sedan there was a screeching noise at any point of acceleration thinking it was the brakes. I got the brakes changed but the noise was still there. I took it to a mechanic and was told that it was something with the transmission. The cvt transmission that has caused not only me but so many other people problems as well. One of the belts in the transmission is screeching and causing other things in my car to not function as well. This is not okay to know and sell a car with a transmission that is known to fail soon. I got the car is now at 106,000 miles. It makes me scared to know i do not have the money to get a new transmission and that the car can go at any time.

I was backing out of my driveway, and noticed that the vehicle started losing power and steering. The vehicle then shut off while driving. After this incident, i parked the car, and it stopped responding and would no longer turn on.

About a month ago the vehicle began shaking unexpectedly. The rpm started to go high when driving about 35 miles per hour. On the highway the rpm would go up to 5 or 6 and if it went down the car shook violently. At times i did not feel i would be able to keep control of the vehicle while on the highway. I stopped driving on the highway and i took the car to be seen by a mechanic. After allowing the mechanic to drive the vehicle i was informed the transmission was likely the problem and would need to be rebuilt. The mechanic suggested i take the vehicle to a transmission specialist. The transmission specialist said every cvt transmission from nissan he has seen needs to be rebuilt and suggested i buy another car rather than pay $5,000.00 to have the transmission rebuilt.i called and spoke with nissan. They said the warranty was no longer valid and they would charge $120.00 for a diagnostic plus the cost to fix the transmission. The vehicle is 7 years old and only has 87,000 miles on it. Prior to a month ago the vehicle had no issues. There has not been any visible indicator light to suggest the vehicle may need maintenance.

When taking off,my transmission stalls and does not shift correctly, car has only 15,564 miles and this has been happening for over 2 years, i am the perverbable old lady (71 year old) lady andthis car has been handled careful, but i have no money to fix this problem

* car hesitates when the gas pedal is pressed at a complete stop and then jolts forward*it takes longer than normal for the car to start moving when gas pedal is pressed* when i try to speed up to pass on the freeway it takes a long time to get up to speed

While driving 35 mph, sunday , april 3 around 12:30 pm, temperature around 40 degrees, sunny conditions, no rain. The vehicle completely lost control of acceleration from the foot pedal.i was able to coast to the edge of the road without incident. The car still had half a tank of gas provided from the seller, hertz, so we put less than 100 miles since the purchase.the engine idled smoothly, the transmission was properly functioning and engaged.there was no response to any movement from on the foot pedal tothe engine in any gear, including neutral and park.again, the engine idled smoothly, the transmission engaged properly when shifted from park to drive, etc.the throttle response returned after the engine was completely turned off then turned back on. The 2014 versa has fly- by- wire throttle, sodirect linkage is not broken, this suggests either a software malfunction or an intermittent app sensor.upon investigation on the internet, severalnissan automobiles of the same year have been recalled for similar problems.

Car stalling , losing speed , due to failing cvt transmission

There is a coolant smell coming from the engine, no noticeable signs of a leak .the main coolant tank was full but the overflow was empty.dealer said it was a common smell with no further explanation.after filling the overflow, the smell still persists.the overflow loses about half a cup per month.no overheat or cooling problems noticed.

Was stopped at red light when i saw car approaching fast behind me.tried to accelerate, but car stalled and i was rear ended.was taken to er.

The car doesn't accelerate when taking off sometime. It sometimes wiil not go over 40 mph. Its coding a input speed sensor inside of the transmission

Vehicle hesitates and cuts off while driving. Check engine light is on and says there's a transmission issue

Thank you.

I bought this car on 02/14/2014 and yesterday was the forth tire to go flat all four have been on the back driver side.the first two i'm not 100% on what caused it as i just assumed i ran over a nail the first time and then just had bad luck on the 2nd time.the third time (starting in october of 2014-right after the 2nd flat and getting a brand new tire) the tire pressure light would come on.would check and it would be low.i took it back to the location i got the new tire from and they could not find anything wrong with it.when a few months with no problems.in december the light came on, took to a dealership to get oil changed...they found nothing wrong with it...they filled it with air.again i had no problems until it was time for an oil change, again the dealership found nothing wrong.this has happened a few time.in april it happened again, but a lot quicker.i took it to dealership, nothing.next day it was flat again had to put air in it twice so i took it back to dealership, again they found nothing.the next day it happened again had to put air in it twice, again took it back to dealership (yap three days in a row).left it there all day.they found a pin hole in the side.i bought a new tire.yesterday i was driving and the back driver side tire blow.this time there is a inch side slash on the out side of the tire.in the same place as the pin hole in the other tire.it looks like maybe the seem where the bumper is attached to the car is to sharp or ruff and killing that tire.i still have the two tires with the issues and will try to work with the dealership to get this fixed.
