Had the air bags changed. The sensor and light for the air bags have been on every since. Took the vehicle in had them check it. They stated the plug came undone. Within 2 days the light was back on. They have stated it would $100+ to have it re looked at.

Takata recall: i was provided information that the airbags needed to be replaced. I called mossy nissan to schedule and i was told that the parts would not be in until spring 2018, however, they would provide a loaner car until the repairs can be made.unfortunately, they would only provide the loaner car with my 20 year old daughter driving if we paid $25.00 per day for 9 months.now this is their recall, they are the ones that said it was absolutely not safe to drive but they want me to pay over $6000 in rental fees?so either my daughter drives an unsafe car or we have to basically pay the value of a new car in rental costs.this is not safe and if this is their recall, regardless of the driver, this should be covered.

Tiene problemas los aie bags y el throttler se le cambi y an as se queda acelerado trabajando en alta.

Takata recall--i received a recall from nissan and immedialey went to a dealer.they told me that once i accepted a loaner car, for which i had to provide the insurance coverage, i could not move my car.i am planning on selling my house and moving, and they could not tell me what to do with my car with the airbag.i wrote to nissan and all i can get are automated messages that they will respond when they have an answer.that was over 1 month ago.no answer.why can't they respond?i am unable to make appropriate decisions and continue to drive the car pending a response.

Vehicle was in motion on a highway when it unexpectedly started shaking and sliding/skidding from side to side ending in a crash. Furthermore, malfunctioning airbags resulted in severe cuts, bruises and other injuries to face and other body parts.

Takata recall: this is third time airbag inflator light goes on. Had recall repaired a yr ago at clermont, fl dealer. After repair was done noticedhorn, air conditioner and defrost buttons not working on panel.i immediately pointed itout to dealer. They fixed air conditioner button only, said the other two issues were not there problem. I spoke to warrant dept that day at the dealership to no avail dept. Stated car was out of warranty. If i wanted it fixed i had to pay. Dealership said it was not their problem i had to pay and they would gladly give me an estimate.horn and other buttons on panel were allworking properly until air bag was fixed that day.i called nissan warranty dept again.dept said they could not help because it was a dealership issue.i took vehicle to another dealership in leesburg, fl 3 months ago.they stated there was a recall on airbag i did not know about. They fixed problem. 2 months later airbag inflator light goes on again. I went to the nissan dealer in clermont and they stated there was no recall on file. They would contact me when they recieved information about it. I tried to explain to manager that i spoke to the warranty dept and they stated i needed to bring vehicle in to have this issue fixed right away. Again manager said there was nothing they could do at the time i would have to wait to receive information about recall. I really need help regarding the issues at hand. Horn is not working due to the airbag malfunction. I drive this vehicle everyday and i am very scared sumthing might happen due to these issues and recall.

Takata recall: i received a safety recall letter from nissan stating that the front passenger airbag in my 2007 nissan versa needs to be replaced. I called the dealership and was told nissan does not provide loaner cars and will not pay for rental cars. I called nissan consumer affairs and was told the same. I was also informed that the parts for the needed repair work won't be in until late sept./early oct. I need my car for transportation to work and for driving my child to school, etc. I do not have a second car, and i cannot afford to rent a car and pay for that. Nissan instructed me to have my child sit in the back seat but if the airbag is deployed, as the driver, i will be sitting inches from possibly flying metal. I do not understand why nisan is not providing more assistance with this very serious recall. When i mentioned that i have an older car (my car is over ten years old) and so the risk is greater, the supervisor at nissan consumer affairs stated she did not know anything about that.shouldn't car manufacturers provide loaner cars to people who have these "ticking time bombs" in their cars? how can nissan expect me to just stop driving my car? how do they expect me to get to work every day?

When i turned on my airbag sensor light lit up and would not go out i brought the car to the dealer and the dealer told me the airbag had to be replaced dealer charge me $894 to install the airbag

"takata recall" i have been told by the nissan dealership in canton, michigan that they wont have the airbag parts until march 2018.it is the drivers side airbag and i need the car to go to work each day; however, i am afraid to drive it but have no choice.

Takata recall. I have received the recall notice for the front passenger airbag.it's been several months since the notice, yet i have not received any further instructions to have the car repaired. The notice indicates that i should not permit anyone to sit in the passenger seat. Considering the risks involved and the personal inconvenience of not having full use of my car, i would like this situation resolved in a reasonable amount of time. When will this be resolved?

Takata airbag complaint. I received the interim notification from nissan in early july, and to this day have received no further communication from nissan on the matter. This has been four months that i have not been able to fully use the vehicle, since having passengers in the front seat is unsafe.documentation on safecar.gov suggests that there is an interim fix for this recall, however, my dealer could find no record of this in their system nor have they received any communication from nissan since the initial release.the latest update shows that parts for a final fix may not be available until december or later. This is inexcusable, far beyond a reasonable wait time to fix this very dangerous problem that also significantly reduces the utility and safety of the vehicle.i have also spoken with nissan customer service about this issue (although i did not escalate the complaint beyond first-level service) to absolutely zero resolution.i am hoping there is some recourse or faster resolution to this issue.

If i can't drive my car what can i dodealer told me i,m on waiting list for a loaner car few month!thanks

Reference is made to complaint number 10995617.as of 08/28/2017 i have not had a response regarding how corrective action clears the recall notice.who is authorized to make the necessary changes to the website?

Passenger airbag warning light constantly blinks.i don't know if there is something actually wrong or if it is going to cost me several hundred dollars to have to replace a fuse.

My car seat belts are not working properly on the passenger side and my air bags warning lights are flashing.i contacted nissan north america and asked them about any recalls for this car and they said no.however, i went on -line to several websites, such as www.internetautoguide.com and found that they are recalls on my 2007 nissan versa 4door hatchback since june 18, 2007 due to a manufacturing process with regards to the terminals for the passenger side seat belt tension sensor harness connector which results in a loss of electrical continuity causing the occupant detection system to become inoperative.the consequence: if this occurs, the air bags warning light will come on the passenger side frontal air bag will be suppressed. Please advise. Additionally, i purchased the car new july 20, 2007 and was not made aware of this.the recall id#64288 affected unit 16309.[xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

My car's check engine light and the airbag indicator lights came up. The dealer diagnosed the problem and it was a faulty fuel level sending unit for the check engine light and for the airbag light was due to a bad airbag control unit and clock spring. The car was never in an accident and had around 80k miles on it when this happened.

"takata recall"in june 2016,we received a letterthe main nissan headquarterstelling us that our 2007 versa had a very bad air bag problem. The letter said that in sept. Of 2016 all dealers would receive the necessary parts to fix this problem.the letter also stated that the dealer would let us know by letter and so would the nissan headquarters. The letter also stated that you shouldn't let any personsit in the passenger seat.because the person could be harmed or killed.so we waited until sept. 2016 for some news but none came. At the end of sept., 2016i drove to wesley chapel nissan,in wesley chapel, fl to speak to the service manager, brandon malatino.he told me the parts had not come in.so 2 more months went by and we hadn't heard from the nissan people.i took another trip to wesley chapel nissan to speak with brandon malatino .he told me that he had received an e-mail saying that the parts would be in some time in dec. After this i called the nissan headquarters and inquiredabout what was going on.they h ad changed air bag manufactures and the parts would be out in the near future.not hearing anything by the end of dec.i took another trip to wesley chapel nissan.(brandon malatino would not answer either one of the 2 phone numbers that he gave me)and spoke to him again.same story...no parts, butnext time e-mail me.late in jan.,2017 i did just that and he didn't respond to my e-mail.so,i called the nissan headquarters again. This time i admit i was a tad angry.the lady on the phone reiterated the same story that i heard before and that is we are changing manufacturers (on what planet are these parts being made?)however, she assured me that in march 2017, the parts will beavailable. As a person not gullible i feel like i am being sandbagged in this deal.case #25346691.

I went my local dilarship when i got recall letter. They said have no airbags. They give me another schedule and told me call them before come. I call them again to know about airbags is available they said me available. I went again but they said can't take off old airbags couse it's been stuck. They give back car and said have to pay for fix that. What i do now let plz . [xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Takata recall (nhtsa recall 16v-349) - my complaint is that nissan north america denied vehicle owner's request to provide a loaner vehicle until the defect is repaired.the request was based on potential safety risk posed by the subject defect to vehicle occupants while the vehicle is used/driven.the recall notice says the defect may result in "metal fragments striking the vehicle occupants causing serious injury or death." this is an unacceptable risk.the vehicle owner's only recourse is to not drive the vehicle, which is also unacceptable given the need to use it.therefore, i request that nhtsa require nissan north america to provide a free loaner vehicle to the owner of thedefective vehicle until the defect is repaired.

Pm657, 16v-349

I received a recall notice in the fall of 2017 for the driver side airbag.when the replacement airbags were available in the spring of 2018 & called my local dealership where i purchased the car and made an appointment to have the work done.i was told when i arrived that because the airbag light was flashing they needed to do a diagnostic test that would cost $100+ to determine if it was safe to replace the airbag.they stated that the wiring harness/spiral cable may be the problem & that it would cost $1000+ to replace everything & that this was not covered under the recall.the vehicle has less than 94000 miles.i really like the car, but i also want to make sure it is safe to drive.do i have any rights here?i called nissanone & they gave me a case # 31081454, they contacted the dealer & they were told that my check engine light needed to be addressed first.i have owned this car for 10 years, brought it new, the check engine light has never came on.maybe the dealer used "check engine" light as a blanket term for any light that lights up on the dash board.i don't know.the nissan representative just keep saying that for safety reasons i needed to have it changes as soon as possible or maybe take it to another dealer.i would have to drive about 40 miles to another nissan dealer, which is ok, but why should i have too do that?any assistants or advice you can give me is greatly appreciated.

Takata recall.nissan sent a notice months ago saying they would notify us when they had parts on the inflator/airbag repair.until then we werenot to use the passenger front seat.they have not given us one single update!it has been over a year and we have heard nothing! there is no excuse for such customer treatment.i called nissan today after several transfers and was told that maybe they would have some parts during the first quarter of 2017.shouldn't our government fine these car companies?where is our congress and senators on these types of safety issues?hiding in the weeds?collecting their fat salaries?they are laying it all off on takata...however, takata is one of nissan's suppliers.why isn't nissan held accountable and required to recall the cars and pay the customers for this mess?(btw--this isn't the first safety recall of the versa).

Takata air bag recall, being charged to fix!! i have 2 airbag recalls. I've had a rental for 3 months while awaiting parts (expected spring 2018) on 12/19/07, adam ruehman, (service advisor) calls me & tells me he's getting "screamed at" because i've had the rental so long. He said that he had my airbag ready. I asked him if he had both, because that was strange. I called nissan headquarters who confirmed that they did not have both airbags, only one. That i can take my car to fix one & keep the rental until they got the other one. I had to work so i had to wait until the morning. The next day,12/20, adam calls me telling me again, that they have both parts. Nissan hq calls again & tells me now, that the service dept said that they do have parts for both airbags. I bring my car in & adam tells me that it will be 300$ because i need a spring that is connected to the airbag & that's also the reason my horn doesn't work. I tell him that i don't have any money (xmas time) i'm single mom & broke. I said "so what do i do?" he said"sorry, we can still fix it, it just won't work" i didn't tell him he could repair my car without the spring that i was required to pay for. I was very upset & sent off in a courtesy van to go get the rental car & bring it back for them, expected to drive my car with a recall repair that was done incorrectly. I called nissan hq & they told me that the case was forwarded to a higher department & it will be 24 hours & they couldn't help me. I called adam @dealership & told him that i'm not taking my car like that because it's unsafe to drive & not returning the rental until i hear from nissan hq. He said ok. Shortly after, adam left me voicemails demanding to bring the rental back because the recall repair was "complete", & nissan was not going to pay for any more rentals, to come pick up my car and they will charge me 35$ a day for the rental.

Takata recall - this recall was issued may 23, 2016, and nissan has yet to have available parts to perform the needed repairs.their only instructions were to avoid having someone ride in the passenger seat.while this might be understandable for a few days, this has been nearly 9 months.i need to use all seats in my car, but yet don't want to put my family's lives in danger.please encourage the manufacturer to release the needed parts for the repairs in a timely manner!!!

Takata recall- i received an important safety recall notice from nissan regarding the airbags and have taken the advisement of possible passenger death very seriously. I need the car for daily transportation though am not able to drive with passengers in the front seat, limiting what i am able to do with the car. Nissan has been non responsive with me at both the dealer level and at their national consumer affairs level and i am not able to get a time estimate as to when the parts will be available for repair.

No accidents yet but i am not waiting for it to happened and be at risk of severe consequences or fatal consequences. I do not feel save specially for my passengers ! i demand it gets fix the way payments are paid in full when purchasing the car. Takata recallwhen i received my recall i went to the dealership. They inspected my car and i'm assuming my airbag. She got my name and number, and told me i would be 18tg on the wait list for my part, it was supposed to arrive in march or may i believe is what she told me. I have yet to hear from east tennessee nissan of morristown. I emailed them and have yet to get a response. I have been waiting around , and this is the only automobile i have to drive. I really don't feel comfortable driving it , if it could potentially deploy and send shards of metal fragments at me.

Takata recalli received a recall notice for the front passenger over 6 months ago stating that the airbag can deploy abnormally causing serious injury or death. I have contacted autonation nissan pembroke pines on numerous occasions requesting a rental or that the defective airbag be removed as i carry people in my car everyday. Each time i call i'm given excuses. I would like to have the airbag removed immediately, its better to not have one than one that can kill you even if you are not driving. The recall said it can deploy simply based on humidity.

Takata inflators - i received a recall notification sometime during mid summer 2016, for nhtsa recall 16v-349 from nissan north american inc.i was informed of the defect of the front passenger air bag inflators.the recall notification letter indicated that nissan was "awaiting parts to remedy the affected vehicles". I was to be sent a second letter when parts were available and arrange to take the vehicle to a nissan dealer for repairs.during the beginning of september 2016 my vehicle was at the dealer for other repairs and we inquired as to when they thought parts might be available.we were told the were supposed to be available any time and they would have to order them once they were available.today i contacted nissan north america at the phone number listed on the original and only recall notice i received.i was told that repairs should already have been made to my vehicle, to contact the dealer and if they were not able to schedule and make repairs to contact them again.i called the dealer, nissan of mckinney (texas) and was put on hold to see if they could schedule my vehicle for repairs, and came back and immediately scheduled repairs for next week.i find it appalling that a safety recall, which could result in the death of an individual, was so poorly executed by both nissan north america, who failed to send out the second letter the original notification indicated would be sent, and the dealer who so deftly ignored any responsibility on following through on even contacting us about parts, when we had queried them so recently.we bought the 2007 versa new and it is still registered in the same names, at the same address and even maintenance and repairs are completed at the same selling dealer.i consider this safety recall campaign a completely failure on the parts of both nissan north american and mckinney nissan.

Takata recall . My vehicles airbag light indicator turned on the other day while stationary san diego californiawent through countless mechanics to search for the problem & no luck . Did some research found out there was not 1 but 2 recalls on my vehicle both concerning the airbags. As a lyft driver and a family man i was very concerned for myself, my family & my passengers & was notified only on the 2nd recall but not the 1st. Very disappointed that safety was an issue this whole time driving this vehicle & glad nothing horrific happened.

Takata recalli am writing to complain inability for the manufacturer to come up with a solution to the recall on my vehicle in a timely manner. It has a year. I am unable to allow people to ride in the passenger seat of my car and while that might not be a primary function of a vehicle it is most certainly a crucial secondary function. I might rest easier if "high levels of absolute humidity" was a bit more clear, e.g. Providing an absolute humidity rangeor a list of states where this is more common.thank you

Please investigate these dealers, they pretend to comply but running a scham.

Dear sir, nissan corporate has been very rude andpurposely mis-representing information with regards to putting us in an alternative vehicle since the recall. The are also refusing to honor adriver side seat belt warranty, the seat belt being stuck in it's buckle. On 11/1/2017 we were advised to not drive our versa any more in a phone call from nissan. The local dealer then told us to call back again the following day, as the person who is supposed to give us paperwork is on leave. We insisted and then a service technician told us to call enterprise and reserve a car. Enterprise sent us back to nissan dealer for a purchase order. Finally with run around, another service tech gave us the papwerwork for the loaner car. We called enterprise again to book the car and got their at the 5:00 pm, when the car was reserved. It took 90 minutes for enterprise to get the car after which service manager reneeta refuesed to give us a car until we paid a deposit. She persisted and suggested that if we did not buy insurance, the smallest dent on the car will come off our personal insurance deductible, even if not our fault. I am at loss on why we should be paying such deposits or be harrassed be the nissan dealer and rental car for a recall and why is nissan offerring customers a loaner and then harress them so that customer give up on taking the loaner.i will call nhtsa tomorrow to formally request an investigation on the same.nissan corporate contact : deandra : (615) 725 7545enterprise : reneeta & terence clark - [email protected] center nissan contact : dominicplease help!thanks, ashish

I own a 2007 nissan versa which has a recalled issue for an air bag/seat belt defect for the passenger side.i contacted nissan and they are saying my vin is not included in the recall.my 2007 versa has the "passenger side air bag off" light on even when someone sits in the seat.with that light on the air bag is not able to deploy nor will the seat belt work. I had the part replaced by a nissan dealership and not even a week later the same light came back on and remains on.i am being advised to have it fixed another time but do not count on it being fixed as i have already had it switched out one time already.

I received a safety recall notice some time ago. So i looked it up on internet and it said that nissan is awaiting parts to remedy the humdity problem in the air bag inflator.maanufacturer noted to contact nissan affairs that they failed or unable to remedy safety recall on my vehicle in a timely manner.i never received a second notice to bring in my vehicle, but had to look this information up on my own.

Takata recalli am having difficulty with the recall process, primarily receiving a return call from dealership after calling on four different occasions; and receiving alternate transportation option because "all 35 loaner cars had been already given out". I do not want to drive this vehicle dueto the serious nature of the recalls, however i have not been able to rectify this situation with local dealerships. Please help.

Takata recall. I have received my first notice from nissan.these idiots tell me i have to wait awhile before they can get the perts.in the meantime, i am told to keep people out of the front passenger seat.if i and anyone else in this car are in mortal danger, why the hell can't they remove this airbag now?

Brought car in for maintenance and airbag-recall services. Maintenance was done, but no airbag replacement.

Takata recall - replacement parts for both the front driver (manufacturer recall number pm685nhtsa recall number 17v-449) and front passenger (manufacturer recall number pm657nhtsa recall number 16v-349) were not made available by nissan to my nissan dealer (conicelli nissan in conshohocken, pa). Coil spring recall - replacement parts for the front coil spring (manufacturer recall number pm565nhtsa recall number 15v-573) were not made available by nissan to my nissan dealer (conicelli nissan in conshohocken, pa). This is pathetic behavior by nissan and its suppliers.

I purchased a 2007 nissan versain july of 2006; 3 weeks later the passenger side air bag cover came off the dashboard.took it to the dealer ship and they pushed it back in and order a new one.they said it wasn't a safety concern.they new back took about 2 months to arrive.they replaced it and a bout a week later the air bag cover came off the dash board again.went back to the dealer ship and they kept it for a 2 days and they told me they had screwed/ bolted down the air bag to the inside of the dash board.last week i called them because the cover came off once again and they calleda field engineer to come take a look at the car, meanwhile they say is safe to drive the car like it is right now.should i be concerned of the air bag cover exposed like it is?sense this is the 3rd time am really concerned about the safety of my family in case the bag deploys.

With the car running, the airbag indicator light comes on and stays on whenever a passenger sits in the right frontseat and stays on after the passenger exitsthe vehicle. After having the sensor reset at an independent repair company, the same problem occurs the next time a passenger sits in the seat. The sensor has been reset several times already, with the problem reoccurringeach time a passenger sits down before a trip.

On july 26, 2016, i received a recall notice from nissan north america, inc. For my 2007 nissan versa.it advised me to make an appointment at the local dealership for a repair or replacement of the airbag on the passenger side and not to allow anyone to ride on the passenger side of the vehicle.what i do not understand is why it took 9 years to discover this defect and what i do not like is being told how i must utilize my vehicle in order to protect other passengers.it makes we wonder if i would want to replace this vehicle which has worked very well over the years with another nissan versa or other nissan vehicle.i have scheduled an appointment with my local dealership for september 12, but until that time will not be able to carry a passenger in the front of the vehicle.

Takata recall 16v-349:re:doj case number 16-20810, u.s. District court, eastern district of michigan.i see from the plea agreement that u.s. Government received its money, the clerk of court in michigan received its $400.00.the vehicle manufacturers also received their cut.however, the folks that own affected vehicles that cannot accommodate front passenger until replacement of inflator is made are out of luck.nothing is being done for them.all we receive is run around; i have not been able to use front passenger seat since being notified by recall notice date 07/25/2016.perhaps someone in u.s. Government can put another fire under takata's butt to get these replacements produced and get dealers off their duffs to replace the faulty parts.this vehicle must be driven regularly to transport grandchildren.

Takata recallmy 2007 nissan versa's passenger airbag has a recall on it (nhtsa id 16v-349) for some time now, and the nissan dealership nearest me keeps telling me that no repair parts are available.

I'm just curious as to this newest recall nissan has issues for certain versa sedans and hatchbacks. You see, both my front passenger and front driver (steering column) airbags both had to be replaced due to a recall. Now, the side air bags are beginning to show up on the recall list yet when i enter my vin, it shows no active recalls. I'm not really a betting woman but i will say that if my driver and passenger were replaced, wouldn't it stand to reason that the side airbags should probably be included in this newest recall nissan has put out? i got two side airbags. One on my driver and one on my passenger. And i don't want little metal fragments exploding in my face if impact comes to my car. Please let me know as it can take a while for my dealership to get the parts needed to replace the airbags. You know if two out of the four airbags have already been recalled, chances are the other two are next.

Tacata recallthe dealer could not fix the issue (could not put a new airbag) they didnt have an airbag

Airbag on driver's side is defective and subject to recall. Today i heard from my dealer that their system is down and cannot fix the problem until spring 2018. Need to get this problem taken care of sooner as i am at risk every time i drive. How can i get this problem taken care of sooner?

Takata recall. Nissan has been dragging its feet in providing me with a rental car while waiting for the repair associated with the recall. I have been dealing first with my local dealer about getting a rental; and now i have been dealing nissan about the rental. Nissan has been misrepresenting where and when i am to receive e rental. My nissan "regional consumer specialist" will not return my phone calls and nissan will only refer me to that specialist.

Takata recallon november 9th i brought my versa into the dealer and they performed the recall, replacing the passenger airbag.however, some of the things that they said and did made me suspicious that perhaps they did not actually perform the work or replace the old airbag.sometime in early 2016 i received a letter from nissan informing me of the passenger airbag recall and telling me not to allow anyone to sit in the front passenger seat, and to wait until i got a second letter when the part was available.in early november, i had already been waiting for many months for this second letter from nissan, but the letter never came and still has not come.so i called my dealer on november 8th to see if perhaps the second letter had been lost in the mail, and if the part was now available.the dealer said yes, the new inflator just came in, and to bring my vehicle in, which i did first thing the next morning. They called an hour later to say they could not find the part.then they later said they found it.then they performed the work in about an hour or less.it seemed too fast.as i was driving away, i realized that i only had their word for it that they had actually performed the work.so i called the nissan headquarters and got to speak to their consumer affairs department. My regional case manager at nissan consumer affairs investigated by calling my dealer and then called me back.he told me that the dealer said they performed an "interim repair" on my vehicle and that i will be notified when the permanent replacement part becomes available!he said the new airbag that i received was another takata airbag that had never been exposed to humidity.i want to know what airbag is actually in my car now.i had my local mechanic open up the compartment and i photograped the "new" airbag now in my car.i photographed the serial number.

I received a safety recall notice since 6 months ago and i called the nissan retailer and they do not have an answer for me of when the part is to be available.i am worried about my security and the security of my family.i need the part to be replaced as soon as possible.

I was sent a letter saying it was the 2nd letter to me about a recall to a car i owned but i only received the one. I don't own the car anymore and didn't receive my properloss settlement from my insurance so i would like to be left alone on anything involving this vehicle.

Takata recall. Second recall on this car. And no update

Takata recall:local nissan dealership (sandy sansing nissan, pensacola florida)was contacted by us several times over the past 4 months, requesting information on this recall. We were told the part to repair the airbag is not available and won't be until spring 2018. When i called again today, i was told the same thing, but also told by the nissan serviceman, "this is a voluntary recall by nissan, done out of an abundance of caution. Nothing to worry about."i asked him if it was the airbag recall that had been in the press for the past few years for takata and he said, "no. This is a different part - just replacing the inflators and isn't anything to worry about. There is no threat to life or well being of drivers or passengers." i asked if he would call me when the parts are available and he said, "no, but you can call me every few weeks to see if the parts are in." i looked up the recall on the nhtsa website and it is, indeed the takata recall that people have died and/or been seriously injured from the airbags being faulty.this is my 18 year old son's car.i'm really ticked off and concerned.

Takata recalli was informed last week via a letter that i have two recalls on my vehicle. So i did what nissan told me to do and went to a dealership, to pick up a loaner vehicle provided from nissan. We went through all of the paperwork and they informed me that the driver side airbag will not be available until spring 2018. I accepted this fact and was willing to accept their loaner vehicle and bring my car home and not drive it. When we got to the rental agreement they informed me i would not be able to use the vehicle for lyft or uber driving, lyft is my main source of income and i have no other option. I am also a driver for amazon flex and i'm leaving pizza hut. When i went to sign the rental agreement they informed me that i would not be able to use their vehicle for my job. Also they informed me that i would need to contact nissan for it to be approved to be able to use the vehicle for commercial purposes. This is my only means of transportation and income. So i contacted nissan and the person i was connected with escalated my case to a regional nissan manager. The second person called me back within a few hours and informed me that i would not be able to use the vehicle for my job, and that if i choose to continue to drive my current vehicle i would be relinquishing any rights if the airbags were to harm me. So i either choose to accept their loaner vehicle and find a new job, or refuse the car and drive my current vehicle with airbags that might harm me and or occupants of my vehicle. While i was at the dealershipi attempted everything i possibly couldi even asked if they would be able to accept my car as a trade in they denied to this because of the airbags. So i have the choice of changing careers or continue to drive a car that could possibly injure me or any occupants. I was informed to contact the nhtsa by the dealership i purchased my car from.

Takata recall:i have a recall letter nhtsa recall 16v-349 more than half a year ago. Despite numerous calls to the nissan consumer affairs and the local retailer, the airbag has not been replaced and no action has beentaken. I can not drive passengers around in the passenger seat .

Takata recall. Its been 7 months with several phone calls to nissan. The air bag problem is a huge safety issue, not to mention the inconvenience. Nissan is doing nothing. It needs fixed now.

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2007 nissan versa. The contact stated that the front passenger side air bag was repaired per an unknown recall. Regarding the driver's side air bag recall, the dealer (sutherlin nissan of fort pierce, 4815 us-1, fort pierce, fl 34982, (772) 924-2668) was uncertain as to when the parts would be supplied. The manufacturer was contacted to determine when the parts would be supplied to the dealer to receive the recall repair. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

Takata recall - after already having the airbag replaced once, i received another recall notice. I called all nissan dealers in the area (exton and concordville pa), and neither has the part available to replace. I was told it will not be available until the spring!!!!!! this is a serious recall and i am unable to get the issue resolved anytime in the near future.

Takata recall - recall 17v-449 was issued for my 2007 nissan versa on 07/21/2017. It has been 60 days, and i have received no notification from nissan regarding the recall.

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2007 nissan versa. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 16v349000 (air bags). The part to do the repair was unavailable.the contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact attempted to call the manufacturer, but could not get through. The dealer stated that the parts were unavailable. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

Takata recall. Got a recall notice from nissan. Said don't allow anyone to sit in passenger side of car. Called van nuys nissan multiple times for 2 years until they finally could repair it. Three months pass without that omnipresent stress. Then another recall notice arrives about driver's side air bag. Says parts not available until spring 2018. Similar message to before. I have no expectation they will be able to repair my car by then. Afraid to drive but this is my only car. I do work at home so drive less than other people, but i can't stay home 100% of the time. Nissan should replace these vehicles. People have died.

I received notice of the takata passenger airbag recall in august, 2016. I have been unable to have passengers in my car since august without risking their deaths.nissan has done absolutely nothing to remedy the situation.despite many calls & many promises from them that the parts will be in "soon," they have done nothing but apologize.toyota & honda seem to be able to get parts but nissan says they can't. Now they're telling me it might be march of 2017 before i can get my vehicle fixed; 8 months after their original recall notice. This recall is a huge inconvenience to me & my family, never mind possible danger to me as the driver should the airbag deploy erroneously.nissan's behavior is irresponsible & unacceptable.nissan needs to be disciplined.

Takata recall - back in august i received a letter from nissan saying that my passenger airbag was faulty and i should not use my passenger seat until they are able to fix it. I have made repeated calls to nissan and to the dealership in all cases they told me to wait until they tell me the parts are ready. My car is 10 years old and i think nissan is just delaying it hoping the car will go away. I need to use all four seats of my car. They are just telling me not to use it to cover themselves in case of an accident involving the airbag. Can you please do anything to make them expedite this recall?

At approximately 4:15pm i was driving east in a 2007 nissan versa on sr 18 at a speed of 35mph. A truck ran a stop sign going south and i collided with his passengers side rear between the extended cab and bed. The collision caused significant damage to the front end of my vehicle. It also caused my transmission to shift or be pushed back because i can not put it into drive. Also, i believe my drive shaft was also damaged because i cannot take my keys out of the ignition. With this significant amount of damage and the speed of travel my complaint is that my vehicles airbags did not deploy.

Accident caused by nissan versa airbag driver side,it was the rush hour around 5:30pm , and my wife was driving the nissan versa suddenly the airbag came out and blew it out,she was scared sheapplied the brakes and the car sped up, and she grabbed the emergency brake lever, the car stooped but she already hit other car, she had to go out through the passenger door, she had no injured but a minor burned in her face for the explosion of the bag.

I own a 2007 nissan versa, which was reareneded. I was pushed forward and rearended the car in front of me. Both ends of my car were pushed in, but the airbag never deployed. My versa was found to be told by both insurance companies.

Ongoing electrical problems that cause sensorslights, windshield wipers. Ac and engine issues.

Tiene problemas los aie bags y el throttler se le cambi y an as se queda acelerado trabajando en alta.

While driving on entrance ramp and accelerating, vehicle suddenly died with no power to the steering, brakes or acceleration. Vehicle was in center lane had trouble steering to the right to get to shoulder. After turning key back and forth several times, the lights and dash came back onbut would not start. Car cranked but would not start. Car was towed to dealership. Was told the fuse to fuel pump blew. That would not explain the electrical system shutting down. If i was in traffic, this would have caused accident with no control over vehicle steering. Waiting on cause for fuse to blow from dealer.

The tpms sensors were all checked at costco and the reset by the technicians to relearn the program.they stated that if the tpms comes back on that i will need to take to a dealer to get it figured out since it could be the computer.called the dealer to find out costs that they said the diagnostic would be $65 which would be credited for any services that need to be done.as this is a safety issue it cannot be not done but if this were also a federal safety mandated issue such as an airbag it should not "deploy" unless the tire pressure is low.both times at costco and again when the light came on again the tire pressure was at the specified 33 psi.if an airbag were to be defective that would cause a danger to life and property but due to this safety measure not threatening life or limb it does not need to be zero defects and the user can get billed for any defects unlike an airbag.

When the problem initially happened, i would have to push the rear defroster button hard (and sometimes wiggle it) in order to make it work. However, after a week of doing that to get the snow, frost, and fog off my rear windshield, the button no longer works (i.e. The light indicator does not come on, nor does the rear defroster turn on). After checking all my fuses (in the hood and cabin) and finding that the fuses were in perfect working order, i began to look on various nissan versa forum sights to see if i could troubleshoot the matter. After typing my problem in, numerous nissan forums popped up discussing this exact problem. Many people have stated that the reason the rear defroster does not work is due to an inferior a/c controller. I understand that times are tough and companies want to make money by using cheap parts, however when it comes to safety this should not be the issue. I copied this from a previous incident reported. This is a safety problem and should result in a recall.

Nissan versa 2007.some times the car won't start with the intelligent key.the car sometimes locks automatically and other times it won't lock with the intelligent key, i am afraid the car will lock with my grandchild in it and i can't open the car.i used the horn and the radio came on. I have taken the car to the dealer several times and thy can not find anything wrong, but there certainly is.

The pieces on the door handle of 2007, seem to pop out over time.drive side key entry and the passenger side door.i know of three nissan versa's have caught fire and all from the cavalier converter...the heater core has some issues.this car had an airbag recall andi don't believe my airbags were replaced. I was told that both side's airbags were done.the dealership told me it would take three weeks to a month to repair. When i told them that i would have to be compensated for my car downtime because i do uber. It was done in two days. The clock spring went out in my car. I do not have a lot of pictures, but i can go in my file and fine them.thanks for any help on these issues.the airbags were done at the end of 2017 and i didn't know i could do what i'm doing today.i was told i would have to paid to get my airbags checked out.over the past two years, i've had so many issues with my car. I've spent over 2.000.00 or more. I've learned so much about my car from google and youtube. Thank you for any help in this matter.

Dash button for rear defroster doesn't work at all and a/c button is faulty. A/c works if you apply extreme pressure and wiggle the button.

When i turned on my airbag sensor light lit up and would not go out i brought the car to the dealer and the dealer told me the airbag had to be replaced dealer charge me $894 to install the airbag

The tire pressure monitor system, or tpms, on the 2007 nissan versa that i, and many, many others own, keeps failing. The tpms light on the dash will continuously blink, even when all four tires have the correct amount of pressure in them. My concern is that my tpms light stays on and it is not doing me any good. I have no way to tell if a tire is going flat while moving because the system is completely useless in the car.

Car developed major electronic problems. This occurred after a engine wash. Informed by dealer that module components have to be replace and also wiring harness. Connectors on wiring harness were corroded. This does not happen after one wash within 3 hours of wash. Estimated repair $2000.00 and nissan will not warranty items.

This vehicle had both reverse lights spontaneously stop working, replacing the reverse break bulbs did not work, the problem is electrical.the front passenger automatic window started to get stuck in the open mode, and now the window does not go down at all, could be a bad switch ($500 to fix).the driver door handle came off while opening the vehicle one day, $500 to fix and i am driving around without an attached handle.holes starting appearing on floorboard on drivers side right where my heels go during accelerating and another hole where the clutch is, the floorboard appears to be made of cardboard.all of these things were already apparent by the time the car had about 40,000 miles.i wish i had not invested my money in this cheaply made automobile.

1)the reverse lights stopped working and replacing both bulbs did not fix the problem.the problem is electrical and costly to fix.2)the front passenger window switch/motor stopped working in 2009 and costs $500 to repair so still broken.3)the rear left passenger door will not always open from the outside with the remote unlock switch on my key 'fob', and sometimes the remote will not lock same door.the door not opening has nothing to do with the child safety switch on the inner door.sometimes the same door cannot be opened from the inside with the child safety lock in the 'unlock' position and the door unlocked from within.it could become a 'trap' in an emergency situation.this is an on and off problem, and it happens quite frequently. It remains unaddressed. 4)the front exterior driver door handle came apart upon opening and is $500 to fix. 5)the rubber seals around 2 of the doors spontaneously came off and have to be manually re-attached regularly.6) there is a flapping sound coming from the front driver wheel well area, and mechanics could not find the source of the sound.

The entire control panel went out. After restarting the car, it appears there was a burning smell. More repairs for a car that is only a few years old and not even paid off. Began with the suspension right after the warranty went out. What a piece of pooh!

Continuous blinking tirepressure light that stays on even when tires are correctly filled with air. This is secondsensor i would have to replace. First one lasted 6 years and second one lasted one year. Also dealer wants to charge me 50 dollars just to tell me sensor is bad and that information i can find in car's manual. I take good care of my car. Low mileage 48,000 for an eight year old car.the tire pressure light is a big problem and always has been.it started at 15 thousand miles and 27 thousand miles and then i had to keep taking it to dealer to get recalibrated...more money. Then the sensor malfunctioned and i had to replace the first one last year and now one year later and 7 thousand more miles it is acting up again and needs replacement. The dealer is charging 50 dollars just to look at it. It is a defective tire sensor and i believe the manufacturer should recall them. It is annoying and dangerous.

I have owned this car since i bought it new in sept.2006. Never have had any problems and have kept it serviced, on oct 02, 2020 i went to store and back home about 8 miles total, parked in yard, approx. 10 minutes later alarm went off and key fob would not dissarm it so i opened the hood and the whole firewall was on fire, and flames bellowing from underneath, i immediately ran and got a fire extingusher andd completely used the large cannister to put fire out. The car is a total loss and very scarey and upsetting that this could happen from a parked car.

Dt*: the contact stated while backing out of a driveway at 2 mph, flames were noticed coming from the rear driver side wheel well.there was nothing unusual about the way the vehicle had operated prior to the fire.the contact used a fire extinguisher to put out the fire.the fire department was contacted, and a fire report was taken.the source and type of fire were unknown.the component that caused the fire was unknown.the gas tank was located on the rear passenger side.the fire department deemed the vehicle totaled.the manufacturer was contacted, and a voice message was left for a callback.the service dealer was not contacted.there were pictures available.

Vehicle was left idling in driveway. After a few minutes a passerby knocked on home door to advise car was on fire. Fire dept responded but fire smothered. Insurance claim was filed. Value of claim did not warrant hiring origin and cause expert however photos seem to show fire originating in left rear interior possibly in headliner near c pillar. Damage suggest wiring defect. Vehicle had no history of collision damage. Vehicle had no history of wiring repair.

The contact owns a 2007 nissan versa. The contact stated that the battery light illuminated on the instrument panel. The dealer stated that the error codes indicated that the drive control unit and steering control unit failed. The failure had been ongoing for a year. The vehicle was not repaired. The vin was not available. The failure mileage was 84,000.

The hatchback lock mechanism quit working on july 2 (106885 miles).can only be opened with the key fob (no key lock on this model), or by unlocking the back seats and crawling into the trunk compartment to pull the manual release.while this is a pain in the neck, it doesn't seem to pose a hazard.on july 27 (108291 miles) the front passenger door lock quit working - totally and completely.there are four ways to open this door, with the key fob, the electric lock/unlock mechanism on both the driver's side and the passenger's side, and finally the manual lock/unlock mechanism.all of these quit working and there is no exterior manual key lock to access either.in the event of an accident or an emergency, the passenger has no quick and easy way to get out of the car.they must exit the same way the entered the vehicle, by crawling over the driver's side seat and wheel, emergency brake and transmission shift mechanism.my wife drives a total of 64 miles a day (to and from work) 10 days a month -- by herself, so the passenger side door and hatchback have not been used as often as another car with our mileage might be expected to have been used.the dealer quoted me $895 plus tax to fix these two issues ($485 for the passenger side door).not only dose this pose a serious danger to the passenger, it is a rip off (why didn't they provide a "keyed" entry on the passenger side?)!

My 2007 nissan versa 1.8l would not accelerate will driving out of the parking garage at work i tried so many times rolling back driving up finally a coworker came and pushed it up once to the next level i turned the car off once back on my service light came on i took it for the check and it was the throttle position sensor once i got that replace the air conditioner quit as well as the rear defroster. Upon reading numerous forums it is determined this happens to 8/10 2007 versas it is not safe to have no working defroster let alone the lack of acceleration while driving nissan should truly investigate this issue for safety purposes.

The contact owns a 2007 nissan versa.the contact stated that the vehicle caught fire without warning.he maintained regular maintenance on the vehicle and the day after an oil and filter change was made, it suddenly caught fire in a parking lot.the fire department was called and had to break open the vehicle in order to douse the flames.the fire department stated that the fire originated from the front console.a report was filed.the manufacturer retrieved the vehicle for further investigation and concluded that the warranty would not cover the cost of the vehicle.the vehicle was labeled as destroyed.the failure and current mileages were 20,000. Updated 6/2/09 updated 06/04/09.

Cruise control electrical spring went out.rear window defroster went out and the ac control for the defroster needs replaceing.the cruise control went out while i was driving. I do not know when the rear defroster went out.

Three weeks ago, i purchased a new 2007 nissan versa. Since making the purchase, i have had periodic problems with starting the vehicle. When i turn the key, the vehicle frequently cranks for 5+ seconds. Sometimes the vehicle will then start, and sometimes it will just die. This does not happen every time that i start the vehicle, and i have not been able to detect any pattern to help indicate when this will happen. I have taken the vehicle back to the dealership twice for service so far, and they have not been able to solve or even identify the problem. I searched the internet and found various accounts of other versa owners detailing similar experiences.

2007 nissan versa with numerous issues and problems. Customer states he has had numerous amounts of problems with this vehicle. Some are airbag light, and seat belt tension wiring harness.the consumer stated the air bag light was on when he purchased the vehicle.

I have a 2007 nissan sentra. Shortly after buying it the tire pressure sensor light came on. I took it to pepp boys and spent money replacing the sensor on the wheel. The light has never gone off. All four window seals have come loose. The ac has stopped working. The fan will not work for a couple of days and then all of the sudden i will turn on on the car and it work one moment.

Was driving down the street and i heard a loud bang then my car veered off to the right. Luckily i wasn't on a busy road and was able to pull it all the way over. The front of my car basically collapsed onto the passenger corner. It was covering my tire and i couldn't move the car. Apparently the strut broke and had to get an alignment. Also, the engine light won't turn off after i put gas in. The gas cap will not screw on right. My door handles keep popping off. My seatbelt keeps getting stuck. And my tire light won't turn off when nothing is wrong with it.

No recall. Somehow car engine caught on fire, but the heat engine light never came on or any warning lights. The airbag light came on and my horn starting going off. The whole engine and then front part of the car became engulfed in flames. This occurred while the vehicle was in motion on a city street, going straight at about 30 mph.

I was not notified of manufactureer recall number pm565, nhtsa recall number 15v-573.

The contact owns a 2007 nissan versa. The contact was traveling 35 mph when the vehicle stalled and could not be restarted.in addition, the contact observed black smoke and flames coming from the engine. The police were contacted and the vehicle was destroyed. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The manufacturer was contacted. The failure and current mileages were 75,000.

When i started, the car i was surprised by a loud sound. I called the mechanic who came to my home.it turns out the sound was the muffler.i had to replace a rusted muffler for a car with low mileage.the car is driven short distances 1-2 times a week.

My 2007 nissan versa is having issues starting,i've brought it to the dealership a few times to get fixed and im being told that there is nothing wrong with it. Those only happens occasionally, when i try to start it just constantly cranks for a few second... It will do this a few times before it actually does crank.

Upper part of exhaust manifold cracked causing carbon monoxide to enter cabin anytime blower is turned on.

Exhaust pipe weld broke cleanly right at the flange.

Over the course of the last 3 years, my 110,000 mile versa stalls and does not start, randomly.sometimes in driveway, sometimesstall mid-drive.sometimes after driving highway or residential fine after turning off, and returning it won't start.sometimes after this it will restart after taking a break and then trying again a third or fourth time.you never know.4 mechanic shops, including nissan dealership (twice) could not figure it out.no diagnostic is clear on the issue.one mechanic found a theft/security code come up, but both sets of keys work and both remote locks work.i called the lock reset people and they said it sounds more like a computer problem.frustrating and dangerous.i do all the required and recommended maintenance and checks.this is bad.

After 50,000+ miles the gasket and muffler had to be replaced due to poor metal and welding construction.this is the only part on the under carriage that is rusted.seems to be a very common issue and should warrant a recall on at least the 2007 models.

The contact owns a 2007 nissan versa. The contact stated since the date of purchasing the vehicle (september 25, 2007), the check engine warning light was illuminated.the vehicle was taken to the dealer numerous time to determine the cause of the warning light being activated. The dealer replaced the gas cap twice, the filter and the valve. The failure was corrected for a few months until recurring. The manufacturer advised the contact that a regional directory would contact her. The contact stated that the vehicle would be taken back to the dealer for further diagnosis. The failure mileage was 700 and the current mileage was 14,000.

The contact owns a 2007 nissan versa. While drivingapproximately 40 mph the contact heard a loud banging noise on the muffler.the contact exit the vehicle, inspected the muffler and noticed that it had separated from the pipe. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer nor was it repaired. The vin was not available. The approximate failure mileage was 80,000.

Exhaust system failure.the muffler broke off at the flange that conects it to the rest of the exhaust pipe, this was a failure of the pipe itself.the car has no other signs of rust or breakdown, but the pipe just severed at the point where it attaches to connecting flange.

I purchased a 2007 nissan versa sl hatchback in july of 07.in mid 08 i started hearing a knock from the engine.i took it into several dealers and no one could tell me what it was caused from.late 08 it started using oil as well, and the dealer did an oil consumption test on it to verify that it was indeed using oil.they told me then that if i can produce all my receipts from where i got my oil changed they would pursue it further.i have always done as much of my own mechanic work myself, so i do not have any receipts.at that point they told me that they would charge me to look into my engine.also, my air pressure indicator light came on in mid 08, and they also want to charge me to take care of this problem.

Pipe from front end of muffler failed at flange weld due to: (1) mechanical strain, the muffler pipe supports the resonator by pulling the pipe tight; (2) lack of corrosion inhibition; (3) poor quality welding, the components appeared to have not been cleaned first. ==details==[1] the comparatively heavy resonator was supported at the rear only by the pipe segments between it and the muffler. This is a significant amount of mechanical force, applied to a structure not designed to handle it.[2] any car sold to parts of the usa that regularly get snow should have corrosion prevention applied to all underbody components by default. Not doing so is not only a poor business decision but also increases the likelihood of parts falling off and landing in the road.[3] welds to underbody components should be well inspected, as if they become separated parts of the vehicle may cease to function properly or depart from the vehicle entirely, resulting in a safety issue.==final note==this form does not retain formatting, making the reports unduly difficult to read.

Front right strut was replaced 3 times among other parts without any luck to solve the problem. Also that car has a problem with the a/c system that comes from the factory without enough freon or no freon at all.

2007 nissan versa hatchback.would of been 2 years old in february.never had a problem.11/19 at 7:25 in the morning approx.my car stalled twice and then the engine went up in flames.engine light and ps light came on few seconds prior to shut off.fire dept. Came but the whole front / engine hood & windshield burnt.

The vehicle was not driven a lot and at 55000 miles it developed the problem of transmission coolant failure, this will cause the vehicle to lock up even during driving and cause an unsafe driving condition.luckily we detected quick enough that we did not have anyone harmed during the operation of the car. Nissan refuses to cover all repair work under the extended guarantee and ensure safe driving from the debris left in the coolant line but did replace the transmission and radiator. There is no guarantee that the coolant pump, thermostat or other coolant devices won't fail and cause other operational hazards, if they do indeed fail as a result of their negligence to perform a full repair; and ensuring that the lines and coolant systems are free from debris and will not fail under use. Failure of the coolant system can cause overheating of the engine and may pose a unsafe driving hazard, however by their (nissan) definition changing the radiator and transmission and leaving debris in the coolant lines is within reason and safety guidelines and do not have to flush or replace any other component that the oil mixture has touched even if it did damage those components as a result of the oil mixture.

The failure mileage was approximately 48,000. The vin was unavailable.

My 2007 nissan versa keep shutting off and wont start everyday dealers have no idea what's wrong.

On 3/18/2011 i had to have my whole muffler system replaced because it became separated from the engine at the front of the vehicle at 119k miles. (i'm no car expert.)then today i hear the same loud noises and my vehicle shaking just like a year ago.right now my car is at 138k miles.i bought the car brand new in july of 2006.i'm taking my car in tomorrow to have it looked at again and i will be very surprised if it is a different issue.i'm worried about driving on the highway and my muffler system coming off and causing an accident.i'm not comfortable driving my car in the state that it is in and i'm definitely not comfortable driving while pregnant with my 2 year old son in the car.i'm not too happy about having to shell out another $700 to get this fixed within a span of 13 months!because of this issue i will not be buying another nissan vehicle.this should be recalled, i have read so many other people who have had the exact same issues.nissan claims it's salt damage.in the past year, i have not driven on any salty roads since having my vehicle fixed, so i can't see how it can be blamed on salt.our winter was so warm our roads didn't even get salted the winter season after i got my muffler system fixed the first time.i've also read that nissan - canada is fixing it as a measure of goodwill on a case by case basis.i'd love for nissan to fix my car too since this will be the second time i'm having to fix the exact same issue.i keep my car well maintained and this is the only issue that i've had that has been recurring with my vehicle and has been a major concern for me.

Bought the car in december of 2007. This is a 2007 nissan versa and have been getting only about 22 to 24 miles per gallon in town. Sticker says the car gets 30 miles per gallon in town. I have never gotten close to that. Took car to dealer and they said the air intake temp was 165 degrees and they replaced the sensor. Gas mileage is still not what it should be.

Muffler detached from exhaust system and required replacement. Other exhaust system components visible under the car (including catalytic converters) were observed to be rusty enough to suggest future premature failure.

While driving on my road i heard a louder than usual exhaust noise.inspection at my home revealed the flange on the exhaust pipe right before the muffler has rusted and completely separated.taking it to muffler shop to have a new pipe welded on where separation occurred.approximate cost was quoted at $100.00.i have read of numerous nissan versa and nissan murano owners with the same issue.

Exhaust system rusted clear through at flange between pipe and muffler.this is far too soon for a car that has less than 50000 miles on it.

I have a 2007 nissan versa sl hatchback that has 55,000 miles. I bought this vehicle new. I started to notice that the muffler was getting louder and took it to a repair shop and i was told that the muffler flange had rusted completely through and i should take it to a dealer. The muffler shop says he has seen hundreds of these same exact problems on nissan products. Nissan of course says it will cost hundreds of dollars to repair and says that it is not under warranty and blames it onroad salt.the car is so loud i finally had to get it fixed.

Exhaust pipe weld broke cleanly right at the flange.

I replaced the muffler and gasket on my 2007 nissan versa on september 21, 2012the poor quality of the materials that nissan used for the flange became brittle and cracked, compromising the structural and functional integrity of the muffler at approximately 62,600 miles. I am the original owner and take impeccable care of this vehicle and all my vehicles.if this safety/exhaust/emission problem had not been repaired, it may have caused injury (minor, major, and maybe fatal) to driver and passengers in the versa as well as other drivers/passengers of other vehicles.this issue should not happen in this make/model/year with low to moderate mileage or any make/model/year of car since mufflers and associated parts have long been perfected.

Exhaust muffler broken while the car was running.

While driving our muffler started making a clunking sound, i pulled over and realized my muffler was not attached to the exhaust pipe anymore, the connection between the two had rusted. But muffler and pipe are not rusted at all, just the connection. I have heard other complaints about their nissan doing the same thing, but nissan wont take the blame and recall the components. Please help.

The muffler sound seemed quite loud on thursday, 12/27/12, something i had not noticed before.the next day friday, 12/28/12,the muffler started rattling very loudly.i called to make an appt for service and was told it was a very common problem with 2007 versas.i have an estimate of $400 to fix this.i've have ownedother makes of vehicles for over 12 years that never have needed a muffler.now that i've investigated, there are many reports of this issue, all seemed to report a poor design.the car has been garaged for the entire 6years that i've owned it and the body is actually showing rust that the dealer said nissan would fix.nissan refused saying the car is 6 years old.

Muffler rusted completely off past the rear muffler where the flange meets the exhaust pipe.this happened prematurely for the vehicle given it's mileage and can cause a road hazard to other drivers.

My muffler on my 2007 versa rotted off the main pipe. After doing some research i found out this is a common problem with the versas. Why is nissan not recalling these faulty parts. Now i have to shop around and hope to get a good price with replacing the muffler. I am sure i will be back and say the tail pipe had to be replaced because many people have replaced that part already too.

The gasket muffler is rusted and broke.

I had purchased a new 2007 versa from star nissan on 9/22/07. A couple of days later, i found out the cd player was non-functional. A day or two later, i realized i was having problems starting the car. On 9/26, i brought the car in to see what the problem was. I was told on 9/27 that it had a faulty fuel pump and that the part they needed won't be available until 10/10/07. Obviously, it is unacceptable for me to be without my brand new car for a week and a half.

Ongoing electrical problems that cause sensorslights, windshield wipers. Ac and engine issues.

Purchased a 2007 nissan versa sedan in jan 2007.three weeks later the service engine soon light came on.subsequently while trying to pump gas into the car the gasoline overflowed out the filler neck.car only had 1/4 tank of gas and we could not put any more gas into the tank.took the car to the dealer where they told us that the vent control canister, hoses and drain were frozen solid.technician questioned whether this was a design flaw.still waiting to hear from manufacturer.the valve assy and canister assy were replaced and the hoses were thawed out and re-used.problem solved?we washed the car twice at an automatic car wash where we got the underbody wash.the temperature that week was in the single digits.technician suggested no more automatic car washes till manufacturer decides what to do.

I purchased a 2007 nissan versa. The last week i have had nothing but problems. The first time i took it in was because it would not start. They told me it was a fuel pump. It was replaced. After i got the car back it started to have no power when i pushed on the gas petal. Because of this i was almost hit several times trying to pull out into traffic. The transmission would not shift and the rpm's would be very high. If sounded like the motor was going to blow up. I have taken it into the shop again and now they are claiming that it is a mass air flow sensor. This vehicle is only 2 years old why are these things happening? i have had people slam on their brakes so that they would not hit me even when the gas petal is all the way to the floor trying to make the vehicle move. This is a very serious problem.

The contact owns a 2007 nissan versa.when the contact started the ignition, the check engine warning indicator illuminated on the instrument panel and remained lit until the engine was turned off.the failure has been occurring ever since the vehicle was purchased.the vehicle was taken to the authorized dealer on twelve occasions and they stated that the fuel cap failed.the vehicle has not been repaired. The failure mileage was 400. Updated 03-04-09 updated 03/05/09.

Car lost power going through an intersection.after i stopped then car did start up again.dealer had no idea what could be wrong.i've read online about this happening to other people and they said it was the fuel pump.this is a 2007 nissan versa sl hatchback.

I purchased a brand new nissan versa in august and the mileage stated on the car was 35/28. The car is only getting 27/17 which is very poor and the dealer states that there is nothing wrong with the vehicle. Nissan refuses to help stating that the window sticker is just and estimate, beware of nissan.

My car has not been turning on once a month and now it's about once a week it was crank at all.one time i was driving on the highway with my kids and it just completely stopped.please help me!i bought the platinum warranty on the car and the dealer refuses to even acknowledge the fact that it might not start.when i have taken it to the dealer it happens to turn on but it's not like i know when and where it will not turn on.i have been doing research and have found that lots of nissan versa owners are having the same problem.they say it is the fuel pump.i told the dealer this and they refuse to even humor me that it might be just that.a recall is in order please!!!

Purchased car july 2007.in spring 2008, fuel pump replaced due to car (a) getting poor gas mileage (b) taking 2-3 cranks to start (c) feeling like no power was getting to the pedal.started having issues again february 2009.went on a trip march 2009 for two weeks.when i returned, the car took 5 minutes to start with a full tank of gas after cranking at least 5 or 6 times.taking to the dealer next week.today, started fine, but no power behind pedal and poor mileage.should have kept my beat up truck, which was just as reliable.

Having issue with hard start with vehicle taking a long time cranking in order to catch.while reading other consumers issues with their versa dying out in traffic i would like to avoid that as i have a baby on the way.

I purchased my nissan versa july 2007.that winter, i was having hard start issues on a full tank, the car seemed to be slowing down when i had my foot on the gas, i was getting about 18 miles to the gallon, and the car made funny noises. I took it to the dealership three times.on the third visit, they told me that the fuel pump regulator had been recalled and needed to be replaced.for about 3 months, the gas mileage was great, and i had not problems starting the vehicle.then, i the next winter, i was having hard start problems again.the dealership told me it must just be the cold weather.well this past winter, yet again hard start issues.i am also getting poor gas mileage, slowing down when my foot is on the gas, etc.i took it back to the dealership, and the technician said "oh well, you are out of warranty...i can help you find a good price."i should not be having these issues with a new car.the scariest part is the slowing down while my foot is on the gas.this is especially noticeable when i have it on cruise control.

I purchased my 2007 nissan versa in 2007. In 2008, i began to notice intermittent starting problems(hard to crank engine); the car would not start after prolonged cranking attempts. In may 2008, i took the car to the dealership to undergo diagnostics and repair; they found the problem to be a faulty fuel pressure regulator and replaced the part under warranty, five months later, the problem reappeared. I took my nissan versa back to the dealer for the same repair, in november 2009, and the dealer refused to repair my car being that i was roughly 2,000 miles over my warranty period. Since then the cranking problem with my nissan versa has become more prevalent and as a result i've recently had my first battery replacement because i destroyed my original battery from extensive cranking! the nissan corp. And north american nissan should honor the numerous complaints for a serious issue!

2007 nissan versa bought brand new in oct. 06 - has had "extended" crank since day 1, but now has faulty fpr (fuel pressure regulator) failure at 54,434 miles. Warranty expired at 3/36,000. Car will not start intermittently leaving me stranded for 15 minutes or more. You have to "pump" the gas to try and get it to start and heavy odor of fuel in cabin of car results. Had to spend $101.86 to get it diagnosed to see if nissan would help, which they denied my claim. I have read numerous complaints on versa's from 2007-2009 model years. Since my car is the first model year it has the old faulty fpr. As a result of extended cranking and having to crank car multiple times it has killed my battery which now needs replaced as well. This should not be happening, as nissan is well aware of the problem, they need to make it right.

The contact owns a 2007 nissan versa.while driving approximately 50 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning.the contact believed that the fuel pump needed to be replaced.the dealer was notified who advised the contact to call the manufacturer.the contact attempted to contact the manufacturer but to no avail.the vehicle was not repaired.the current and failure mileage was approximately 80,000.

In 2008, we began to notice intermittent starting problems with our 2007 nissan versa; the car would not start after prolonged cranking of the starter. In may 2009, we took the car to the dealership to undergo diagnostics and repair. They found the problem to be a faulty fuel pressure regulator and replaced the part under warranty. Five months later, the problem reappeared. The versa went back to the dealer for the same repair, in november 2009, and again replaced the part under warranty. Since the last repair, the versa was driven infrequently during the first half of 2010, and therefore, didn?t accumulate significant mileage. In the summer of 2010, the car was driven regularly again, with the starting problem reappearing in october 2010. We have not been able to take the car in for service until january 2011. This marks the third repair for the same problem. Unfortunately, the versa has exceeded the factory warranty (38k miles) and we are paying out of pocket for this repair.this problem is not isolated to us. I have done some research on this issue and the same problem is shared my many other north american versa owners across many enthusiast internet forums, car sites, blogs and other locations. With that in mind, i called nissan consumer affairs and stated my case. The reply was simply that nissan has not recognized this problem as a recall or campaign.we made the decision to purchase a new vehicle based on safety and reliability. We have lost confidence in our nissan versa, as every time we take the wheel we?re left wondering whether it will or will not start. I cannot accept the fact that a modern, low-mileage, three-year-old vehicle will occasionally not start, thereby, creating a situation of potential danger to family. While this problem does not constitute an imminent threat such as a brake failure or tire defect, having your car become inoperable can lead to dangerous outcomes as well.nissan is not addressing a significant problem.

Significant loss of fuel efficiency at around 51kmiles in january 2011. All of a sudden had to start filling tank up more frequently and noticed it would shudder at random. On february 8, 2011 i was sitting idle in a parking space in park with engine running and the engine shuddered and then shut off. Battery was fine but engine would crank but not come on. Was told fuel pump needed replacement, nissan would not acknowledge as a problem and said i would be charged 3 hours of labor to replace while the service station i use said it would only require 1 labor hour. Had it replaced for almost $600. I bought what i thought was a reliable car, but after this and having the fuel door becoming disconnected frequently, i am not feeling confident.

My specific complaint is false advertising.when i purchased my vehicle nissan advertised the vehicle a versa with cvt trans as getting 30/36 mpg.my vehicle has never gotten anywhere near these figures.my last fill up, mostly highway miles was 22 mpg. The service dept. States everything is running correctly in the engine.it is funny but now the service dept tells me the mpg is 28/33 not 30/36.i bought a car that i thought was going to have good fuel economy and it is not much better than my suv.

There seems to be a problem starting my 2007 nissan versa (cvt) in the mornings.doesn't happen every time but when you go to start it cold the car will not start and sometimes takes up to 30 seconds to start.other times you can be driving at around 25 mph and then the car hesitates and the speedometer drops to zero and the care hesitates for about 3-4 seconds and then picks back up.i took to abq reliable nissan and they say they cannot duplicate the problem but i can see by the nissan forums that i'm not the only one with this problem.it's not safe (car hesitating in traffic) and not starting is a major problem.should have bought the honda fit!

The contact owns a 2007 nissan versa. The contact stated that the vehicle would not start. After a few attempts, along with depressing the accelerator the vehicle finally started. The failure recurred occasionally for over a year until the vehicle would no longer start. The vehicle was taken to a personal mechanic for diagnosis and was told that the fuel pump would need to be replaced. The manufacturer was contacted but provided no assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and the current mileages were 120,000.

Bought 2007 nissan versa in july 07. Fuel door was not connected at purchase time. Dealer reconnected but it became disconnected again in march 09. Simple to reconnect but a pain to have to keep doing it.

I was traveling when loss of engine power occurred. There was no sound or other indication of engine problems aside from inability to accelerate. Was able to pull vehicle over to the shoulder where the engine would not turn over again. Had vehicle towed to local dealer where i was informed that it was the fuel pump and that the parts are on back order. In addition, while this is a known issue since 2007, there has been no voluntary recall despite many other incidents (as per internet search) of other vehicles losing power while in motion. The initial symptoms include an inability to start upon initial turnover wherein the issue progresses towards total fuel pump failure. I did experience the issue where the engine would take a second or third try to turn over but had attributed it to the starter.

Lost all power to vehicle while traveling down expressway at posted rate of speed (65 mph). No power but all electrical working. Almost caused a horrific accident as i tried to move from the center lane to the road shoulder. It took about 20 tries to restart the car after 45 minutes on the side of the road, but the car did start. I have had problems starting the car intermitently. Finally took it in to a shop and told them my history of fuel problem. They identified the problem and told me about all the info on the net about this problem and nissan not recalling. Many references to moving vehicle failure. Cost of thew fuel pump is near $1000. I think this is why nissan is not recalling. But someone will be hurt or killed from this neglect.did the research on this and found that the fuel pump on this and other nissans have failed since day one. Too much information on this on message boards. Nissan issued a tsb but is doing nothing about the protecting the driver, passengers, or the driving public from this failure that can happen at any speed.

The car as many others have been noted for the years 2007 and 2008 has been to the shop to correct the cranking no start problem. As per nissan technical bulletin the fuel regulator was replaced and the problem occurred the next day and has continued to do so. The dealer has no idea what the cause is.

When the gas tank is completely full, the vehicle has a bad smell of gasoline. After driving for fifty miles, the smell dissipates. I took the nissan versa 2007 to hanover nissan and they informed me that it is the fuel pump. I have done research on the issue and have noticed that it is a relatively common issue on various nissans. However, nissan refuses to acknowledge the problem and does not issue any recalls or service bulletins since it costs $800 - $1,000 at a nissan dealership. They just want to make money so they will not issue an service bulletins regarding the faulty fuel pumps.

The car shut off as we were driving, and i had to coast in a very busy freeway...the engine just died. Very stressful situation because i was on a highway and i had to coast until off the highway..then to restart the car it took at least 15 min of trying...i thought it was just a battery etc, but i did take to the dealer and nothing was noticed,,,,from then on i've been experiencing difficulties in starting the car, or in the morning or when i leave work at 2 am etc...so i thought it was only my car, but i noticed that there are other owners with the same problem...starting the engine and or just dying as we are driving..i am learning that it is a problem with a fuel pump...but it seems that nissan doesn't care or it is not important to them...please thank you for your time and consideration..

The contact owns a 2007 nissan versa. The contact stated that there was a leak from the sunroof installation.additionally, the contact stated that while attempting a left turn, the vehicle stalled without warning and could not be shifted into any gear. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic but was not diagnosed or repaired.the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was not available.

When i started, the car i was surprised by a loud sound. I called the mechanic who came to my home.it turns out the sound was the muffler.i had to replace a rusted muffler for a car with low mileage.the car is driven short distances 1-2 times a week.

Known nissan cvt transmission issue on 2007 nissan versa and many other nissan vehicles equipped with the cvt transmission.our 2007 versa stopped moving while in "drive" in an extremely busy intersection - thankfully it did not result in a serious accident. We were able to pull off to the side of the road, put it in "park" and then back into "drive" to get it back home.nissan has officially recognized & noted this cvt transmission issue on thier "nissan cvt customer satisfaction program" website and has extended the warranty to cover effected/faulty transmissions.my vehicle has been at a local nissan dealer for 2 weeks awaiting nissan authorization to perform the warranty repair.the larger concern is as follows - given the failure mode we experienced and the associated dangers related to a cvt transmission failure, why is this not a federal mandated safety recall?this situation is no different than the current gm ignition switch issue in my opinion.failure of the nissan cvt transmision in certain situations can result in an accident, serious injury and even death.

While driving the speedometer drops to zero and the engine eventually stops. This occurred twice while highway driving. After the first incident it was serviced but the problem occurred again while highway driving.

Cvt transmission. Car will stop while in drive, with car already in motion, and need to be restarted in neutral.when shifted into reverse, car will not actually go in reverse for some time and generally not until the gas pedal is more firmly depressed and then eventually after 30 seconds or so will finally "lurch" into reverse.then when shifting to drive, the car will start to go and then stall out again, needing to be restarted in neutral again.the fact that these instances occur with the car in motion is concerning and could lead to accidents.we have been very fortunate thus far to be in limited traffic when these instances have occurred but is an ongoing issue.tried to research today and found that others have encountered similar issues.

Car was at a dead stop in my driveway. I went to back out of my driveway...and as always i started the car with my foot on the brake...put the car in reverse...began to lift my foot off the brake to coast back again as usual...without ever touching the gas pedal. The car shot back like a bullet...traveled about 45 to 50 feet and slammed into the driver side door of a parked panel truck. The car then shot forward again like a bullet and slammed into a fence pole that was set in cement. I got out of the car in shock....a neighbor came running over...i told him that all i did was put the car in reverse and then lost complete control. The car was still running...my neighbor went to turn off the engine...and said..."the car is still in reverse." he put the car in park and turned off the engine.a police repoprt was filed. The car was removed to a lot for inspection. The inspection did not reveal any problems with the car. As far as nissan was concerned the case ended there. They never interviewed any witnesses. The panel truck owner was just about to go to his truck...he heard the loud racing sound of the engine...as did my daughter who saw the whole thing... She was sitting at the dining room table with full view from a window...she thought i had a heart attack. And the neighbor who winessed the gear in reverse was never contacted. In light of the cases of "unexplained" sudden acceleration i find it hard to believe that nissan is satisfied with the results in this case.i cannot in good conscious let this stand without at least making a record of the incident. By the way the car was totaled. I would be curious to see a report from an accident reconstruction expert as to the speed the car reached from a dead stop....traveleing about 45 feet..... That would cause the amount of damge done to that car. I would have to be standing on the gas pedal...common sense says that did not happen. The airbags never deployed. Thank you.

My transmission was unable to upshift to highway speeds. The closest nissan dealer verified my cvt transmission had adequate fluid. I limbered the car home. Upon searching the internet i read numerous posts of multiple owners with similar problems with nissan's 2007-2010 model year cvt transmissions. Nissan, admitted to their flawed cvt transmission by extending the warranty to 10 years/120 k miles. I filed a warranty claim with nissan as i was just slightly over the mileage warranty but well within the time frame part of the warranty. Nissan's extended warranty document claims they will assist vehicle owners with transmission related expenses for those transmissions that fail beyond the extended warranty. Marissa (615-725-7447) from nissan contacted me this morning stating that nissan will not help cover any of my expenses i have had several nissan service departments admit to me the excessive problems they have seen with this vintage cvt transmission compared to other transmissions and the large amounts of this type transmission they have had to replace. Nissan should be held accountable for their inferior design and production of this cvt transmission. At a minimum they should be assisting in my huge expense (over $ 3000) that i am experiencing right now. They claim to commit to this in writing within the extended warranty verbiage, but in my attempt for assistance i have been flatly denied. I am a very unsatisfied nissan customer, fortunately for them there was no personal injury to me or other drivers when i was unable to maintain a safe driving speed on my way home. I ask for your assistance on this matter for i am confident that there are an excessively high amount of nissan cvt transmission failures within the 2007-2010 model year, well beyond the industry norm. They should help pay for part of my expenses as they commit to within the extended warranty.

Purchased in april 2007, 2007 nissan versa with <30k miles has suddenly begun having what appear to be cvt issues.it is an intermittent problem and after having the vehicle in the dealership twice, they are unable to duplicate the problem.when in operation, driver tries to accelerate and although rpms will raise significantly (i.e. 4000), there is no increase in speed, even with the accelerator all the way to the floor.this has occurred in freeway and surface street traffic.they have run all their usual diagnostics, but say there is nothing showing up.the attitude of the dealership service personnel reflects their disbelief that there is a problem.i worked for the company for 18 years, have driven nissan vehicles for over 20 years, but as a result of this dangerouscondition, i am ready to switch loyalty to another brand.i drove the vehicle from new until @ my 18-year-old son has been driving the vehicle since november 2007 with no problems until now.they asked if we had driven other versas with cvts as if we had suddenly forgotten how to drive the vehicle we've owned and driven for two years.it's not safe in los angeles driving conditions to have this occur.

Have had our 2007 versa for 2 1/2 years and have had no issues up until last week.when driving in the mountains had to stop, put car in reverse and car would not move.put in drive and car moved but was sluggish.later car drove normally.took to dealer 6/4/10 found code p746 and replaced tcm.dealer dealt with issue great.just reporting in case of future recall issues or other people have same problem.

Clutch cable/clutch pedalthe clutch cable is connected to the clutch pedal with plastic cap that fits over a metal post on theclutch pedal assembly.the plastic cap will chip and become disconnected from the clutch pedal and i was lucky because this happened when i was shifting from a dead stop in neutral and attempting to shift into 1st gear and not on the freeway or going down a hill. Plastic? really?

Takata recalli am having difficulty with the recall process, primarily receiving a return call from dealership after calling on four different occasions; and receiving alternate transportation option because "all 35 loaner cars had been already given out". I do not want to drive this vehicle dueto the serious nature of the recalls, however i have not been able to rectify this situation with local dealerships. Please help.

The contact owns a 2007 nissan versa.on august 1, 2007, the contact received safety recall notice number 07v094000 for the seat belts.she felt that there should not have been any recalls for this vehicle because it was advertised as being safe.there had been no failure to date.the current mileage was 4,344.

The contact owns a 2007 nissan versa. The contact stated that the front passenger side seat belt failed to retract or unbuckle. The contact had to remove the bolts that connected the seat belts to the seat in order to release the passenger. Additionally, the air bag warning light illuminated after the passenger was released. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 60,000.

Car seat belt on passenger side would not open , that is to say that the belt would not come out of the thing in which it is put where you push thered button. Several strangers tried to help but it was locked and passenger was in a very uncomfortable tight situation ( thank god he did not suffocate). And the belt would not come out. Passenger was stuck, until we cut it. We wish for the belt to be replaced by nissan and should they want a recall -please let us know.

The contact owns a 2007 nissan versa. The vehicle was previously serviced per nhtsa campaign number: 07v094000 (seat belts). Upon turning on the vehicle, the seat belt indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to gardena nissan (1670 w redondo beach blvd, gardena, ca 90247) where it was diagnosed that the seat belt tension sensor failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that they could not assist. The approximate failure mileage was 93,000.

The contact owns a 2007 nissan versa. The contact stated that when braking abruptly, the seat belt would not catch or hold firmly. The contact would be pushed forward into the steering wheel. The failure would not injure the contact yet she was concerned with the seat belt restraining her in the potential event of a crash. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for inspection nor was the manufacturer contacted to report the failure. The failure mileage was 52,000.

The contact owns a 2007 nissan versa. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 07v094000 (seat belts); however, the parts to do the repair were unavailable. The dealer (speedcraft nissan, 885 quaker ln, west warwick, ri 02893, (401) 304-3400) was contacted and confirmed that the parts were not available for the remedy repair. The manufacturer was not notified. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

Reporting an issue with the 2007 nissan versa intermittent brake failure. When driving on dry roads and braking hard, the brake pedal would go to the floor, then recover itself and have adequate pressure within about a minute. Car has been regularly serviced since purchase, including annual brake service. This issue has occurred twice in the car's lifetime - the first time, the driver was able to maneuver the car out of traffic without issue. Full brake system was checked out with no issues found in master cylinder or other hydraulics and unable to repeat issue. After 1.5 years, the second time the issue occurred, the driver was in stop & go rush hour traffic on dry roads and when hitting the brakes, the brake failure caused a collision with another vehicle with airbag deployment. Full brake system check by multiple shops showed no issue with brake hydraulics, and again was unable to repeat the issue. Brake fluid had been recently exchanged. Owner has requested event data recorder info pull from nissan usa to determine that brake pedal was applied and car did not slow down - nissan usa stating $600 fee plus 1 month lead time until such data can be pulled from the vehicle. Nissan tech has confirmed that such an issue has been seen in some vehicles, but cannot confirm cause, only that replacement of a working master cylinder has fixed the problem, which goes against reason of replacing something that is functioning under standard test conditions.

Have had to have the roters, brakes and tire changed about every 2 months, i only drive maybe 2000 miles monthly. Within 2 months the car is shaking.

During winter season, when more than 2 inches of snow falls, when pressing on the break, i have to press and release repeatedly for the car to stop at a light. If i try to stop without doing so, the car will continue past the stop light road mark. When i press on the break, the break pedal feels like it touch the road. I have experienced this more than three times. Each time i experience this, it has always been a scary one. One day, i was going into the back of a car at a stop light when i couldn't break. I had to press the horn and held it so the driver would realize i had a problem. I had to swing away as not to hid the driver ahead. I had just left my house a minute on the same block, so i was not driving more than about 10 to 15 miles per hour. Please help me with this safety issue with my nissan versa 2007 car.

Was told excessive rust on drums were making brakes squeal in reverse. Brakes make hard rubbing noise when stoppingin a hurry city streets. .dealer said if noise continues to bothered me i would have to have drums replaced.my car is just under 20,000 miles.is it reasonable that i pay to fix the problem?car has rarely been driven in winter salt/ conditions.very low mileage for a car this age. Isn't this corrosion considered excessive wear?

Warped front discs.

I was driving home from work taking same route as i've done for three years.it was my first time driving a recently purchased 2007 nissan versa hatchback.i moved into the turn lane and applied brakes to turn a 90 degree corner.the brakes failed.i had turned the wheel anticipating a normal turn however the car kept moving straight ahead.the car jumped a concrete island and came to rest.i knew immediately there was significant damage to the driver side although the damage was underneath the vehicle.it had to be towed to an auto repair facility approx one hundred yards from the scene of the accident.police came but no citation was issued. Damage includes a broken front axle, damage to suspension, wheel etc. I contacted nissan to determine if my vehicle was included in the faulty brake fluid reservoir cap recall.nissan states it is not.the brakes failed and there's no explanation.

The 2007 nissan versa pulls to the left while driving. While decelerating the steering wheel shakes violently; additionally you can hear a squealing coming from the front end while braking. It sounds as though the universal joint is coming loose.

The contact owns a 2007 nissan versa.while driving 25 mph, the contact suddenly noticed that the vehicle began to stall.neither the brakes nor the power steering were operable.as a result, the contact crashed into another vehicle on the opposite side of the road.there were no injuries, but a police report was filed.the vehicle has not been diagnosed by the dealer.the current and failure mileages were 38,000.

2007 nissan versa lost control .while driving vehicle started swervingfor no suddent reson, and when it started i tried to control the car,but did not work andlost contoll and spind me out and crahed to guard reail onmy right side. Front and back bumper corners, side panel, right side of trunk do nnot close. Passenger door doesn't open, and something underneaththe back ofcar.i looked at the manufacturer'srecall and seen the brake hydraulicrecal. L i belive that this could of cause the car to lose control.

Brakes seemed latent in collision, had to pump brakes on new car to avoid accident, 3 times. Brakes sufficiently locked, but too late to avoid collision. Skid marks from 120 feet at 50 mph impacted vehicle at 35 mph. Dry conditions sunny day. 65fahrenheit. I believe the brakes on this vehicle should have been sufficient and worked properly to avoid collision. I have never had this problem prior to owning a vehicle madeby nissan. This was the first and last vehicle by nissan i will drive.

I just bought a nissan versa 2007 six months ago and today when i was coming from lunch and was in the parking lot trying to park and was driving at the speed of 6 mph. I tried to brake , but the brakes did not responsed and i hit the car in the front. I am completely shaken up about the incident, it could have been the freeway or a red light, i would have been dead. I will not recommend anyone to buy this car.

Popping noise heard in suspension and felt in steering column during left and right turns at slow speeds. Per nissan dealership its because of a defective upper strut bearing, per the tsb's and complaints listed it could range from a number of issues including the intermediate shaft and linkage. The suspension on this vehicle has some serious issues that need to be addressed.

Due to rust corrosion on the underneath frame and carriage of this vehicle, the control arm on both sides has snapped out of place. This has affected my steering capabilities. It also almost caused a serious accident on the highway. I am lucky to be alive. The vehicle is with my mechanic and i will include as many pictures as i can. The recall states that the undercarriage of the vehicle may have unnecessary rust and unfortunately my pin number has been involved. The rust corrosion is so severe that the frame is literally rotting completely out. There is holes you can see through all over the frame of this vehicle. I feel as though nissan not onlyput my immediate life in danger but also many other drivers on the road as well. I was in the air force and they are reactivating me back into service due to the covid. Problem is that i no longer have a vehicle that will get me from ohio down to mississippi.

The contact owns a 2007 nissan versa. The contact stated that when attempting a right turn at any speed, there was an unusual grinding noise coming from the steering wheel.the vehicle was not taken for inspection or repairs. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 26,500. Re-mailed 11/19/10. *ljupdated 12/03/10. *ljupdated 11/23/11the consumer also stated the strut bushing were defective. Updated 11/30/11

Lower ball joint on driver's side broke, causing front wheels to splay.

2007 nissan versa always pulls to the left, alignment problem.

Vehicle intermittently starting making thumping sound and resistance squeaking when turning right at 28k miles. Would only do so when warmed up. At approximately 36k became progressively worse. Fear there will be a near future steering loss due to defective steering in this vehicle. Expect problem with steering assembly. Purchased car new in 2009 from another nissan dealer. Local nissan service oiled on 3 aug 12. Worked for a few days and now is much worse. Nissan north america gave claim number, but will not provide assistance. I read online this is likely a manufacturer defect and should be a full recall. Local nissan dealer claims they are not aware and told me i would be required to pay $400 or more to fix.car recently went out of warranty at 36k and issue was known prior to expiration and reported. Nissan dealers are independent and obviously not held to a corporate service standard, or they would of fixed it by now. I have read that this issue has led to various crashed with the same make/model and year of car.

On or about march 26th 2009 i reported a complaint to the local nissan service department about a clunking and knocking noise in the front end of the car and felt in the steering wheel, the vehicle had less than 32,000 miles at the time.this was not my first attempt to get this issue looked at, but it was the first time they acknowledged a problem. After at least 6 trips to the service department for repair attempts, struts, strut mounts, strut bearings on the left and right side, the problem would not go away. They eventually placed large metal washers between the sub frame and cross brace support because they stated that the sub frame bushings had sagged, or where improperly installed at the manufacturer. Now the steering feels loose and the only way i can describe it is it feels as if the steering column is separating when taking turns over uneven road surfaces.

When i turned on my airbag sensor light lit up and would not go out i brought the car to the dealer and the dealer told me the airbag had to be replaced dealer charge me $894 to install the airbag

The contact owns a 2007 nissan versa. The contact stated that while turning the steering wheel it made a clunking noise that sounded as metal rubbing against metal. The vehicle was taken to the dealer several times for the failure. The dealer replaced the tires wheels spacer; however the failure was not corrected. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer who diagnose that the steering column needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 2 and the current mileage was 61,511.

While my daughter was pulling out of a parking lot onto the street, the steering suddenly locked. This has happened a few times before. The car had stalling issues and would occur when the car stalled, but this time and several other times the car did not stall. This is very dangerous and i have seen many of the same complaints online friom other drivers. I can't believe no action has been taken on this issue.

My vehicle has been in the shop repeatedly for the front end "popping" when turning right.the right strut and bushing, rack and pinion, and sway bar has been replaced.this vehicle still has a quick "pop" which can be felt in the steering wheel when initially turning right.i fear something may fail when driving and loss of control may occur. This has been an ongoing problem that even nissan cannot seem to fix.i have complained to nissan about this issue and as you can see they have replaced numerous parts.i don't know what else to do.

Took the car in for oil change and was told that the rack and pinion is bad.i listened to the noise and that sounds correct.after the part was replaced the steering makes more noise, clanks and stutters at low speed turning.mechanic now says replacement part will cost twice as much as nissan has a vin specific part.checked the message board and now see this is a common problem for versa's '07 to '10.

On june, 2008 i purchase nissan versa from an insurance auction.the damages on the vehicle were on rear end, and front bumper was missing. No damages on the front. I personally fixed the body damages and present the vehicle to salvage inspection. The vehicle successfully passed the test and was registered with restore salvage title. Odometer was showing little over 12000mi. The first 1000mi. I didn't have any problems. When the vehicle reachedabout 13000mi. I noticed a clunking and knocking noise in the front end of the vehicleand i felt it in the steering wheel. The noise was coming from passenger side.all these issues are acting when the vehicle is driving slowly and making right turn going up on the driveway or down on the driveway.i asked the dialer if the car is still covered with manufacture warranty although it has restore salvage title.the answer clearlyno. I did some research on the net for recalls and surprisingly i found forums which discuss the same problems.despitenumerouscomplaintson the net and even after the dealer acts and tries to fix the vehicles by replacing multiple parts and components the problem are still existing. All this is very disappointing and i don't see any reasons to visit the dealer and trust them to fix it.i didn't see any recall information for the problems listed above.i'm european certified mechanicand i'm working with different vehicles, but i've never seen such a problem!i inspected my vehicle multiple times and could not find any reason for this noise.today 07/08/2010 two years after i first noticethis problem the noise is much louder.i still can't find any reason for this noise.it seems like nissan dealers don't have clear answer which part causes this noise.please take all this into consideration and investigate further this issue. Please notethere has not been accidentwith this vehicle yet because of the written above.to fill this complaint i'm putting today's date.

The contact owns a 2007 nissan versa. While driving unknown speeds, the horn was depressed, but failed to sound. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer (priority nissan williamsburg located at 6390 richmond rd, williamsburg, va 23188) where it was diagnosed that the clock spring needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 170,250. *as

Nhtsa recall 16v-349.

A clip broke on a universal joint on my wife's 2007 nissan versa.grenada nissan of grenada< ms said that it was a retainer clip, and that the entire steering column had to be replaced...this was in february, with little more than 800 miles on the vehicle.in november, the clip broke once again.my wife took the vehicle to cannon nissan in greenwood ms, where they told her that it was a "manufacturer's" clip, that was supposed to break off!now, one dealership is telling us that a bolt will back off without this clip, while the other dealership is saying that this clip is not needed!

The contact owns a 2007 nissan versa.while driving approximately 60-70 mph, the vehicle veers to the left.when decelerating, the vehicle veers to the right and feels as if it will spin out.the contact has scheduled an appointment at the dealer for june 29, 2007.the powertrain was unknown.the current and failure mileages were 30.the consumer stated took the vehicle to cerrito's and the mechanic test drove the vehicle and stated there was nothing wrong with the vehicle. The foreman stated it could be steering but since it is electric and does not have power steering. She does not know if that is the reason the vehicle is veering to either the right or left. The consumer stated feels unsafe driving the vehicle and provided emails from other consumers with the same defect. The consumer also provided a copy of the repair invoice. Updated 07/31/07

2007 nissan versa tie rod snapped pulling the steering to the right.the consumer stated his wife was driving when suddenly she could no longer control the vehicle and subsequently they slammed into a cement wall side ways.

Muffler rusted completely off past the rear muffler where the flange meets the exhaust pipe.this happened prematurely for the vehicle given it's mileage and can cause a road hazard to other drivers.

Driving in neighborhood very slow speed when front coil spring broke causing it to rupture the front tire (it popped).luckily i was driving 25 mph or could have been a major problem. Saw on news today they have had over 130,000 complaints so far- this is obviously a defect, it is going to cost close to $1700 today to get it fixed.

The contact owns a 2007 nissan versa. The contact stated that the dashboard shifted out of position on the driver's side and the air bag was exposed. The vehicle was taken to teddy nissan (3660 boston rd, bronx, ny 10469, phone: (877) 607-3537), but the part was not available for the repair. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign numbers: 17v449000 and 17v028000 (air bags). The parts needed for the repair were not available. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer stated that the parts were not available. The approximate failure mileage was 159,000. Vin tool confirms parts not available and parts distribution disconnect.

Driver side outside door handle seems to come loose or even come completely off after regular use.

Upon opening door the handle feel completely off.

The contact owns a 2007 nissan versa. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to be serviced under nhtsa campaign number: 15v573000 (suspension) when the dealer found a rusted mount and bolt whichprevented the vehicle from being able to be repaired. The dealer diagnosed the rusted mount and bolt needed to be replaced in order for the vehicle to receive the recall repair. The vehicle's bolt was not repaired or was the recall repair completed. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 61,436.

Took my car to the garage to have it inspected and was told i was going to need my engine cradle/ subframe replaced. When i took it to the garage to get it fixed he told me it should not have rusted out that bad for a 2007 and was surprised to find no recall on this issue.

The contact owns a 2007 nissan versa. While the vehicle was being serviced, the independent mechanic discovered that the front cross member was worn and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 100,000.

On 11/11/11 my versa s lost it's front right hubcap while driving to work, i was driving on a paved rural road and a gust of wind took it off (no bumps).five days later my front left hubcap came loose in traffic causing drivers behind to swerve and brake to avoid it.during the incident on 11/11 the entire hubcap was lost (spring steel frame & plastic cover), during the incident on 11/16 the steel retainer and 6 connecting (ribs) were left attached to the wheel while the plastic disc part of the hubcap sheered away.please contact me for pictures, or failed components, of the 2nd incident.

The door handle on the driver's side of my 2007 nissan versa came off in to my hand when i went to open the car door. This car has 38,807 miles on it.you can not open the driver's door from the outside and are reduced to crawling in over the gear shift from the passengers side to get in to the driver's seat. I am concerned that the driver's door can not be opened from the outside in case of an emergency or an accident.. Oddly enough i saw a girl in a shopping center yesterday. The driver's side door handle was missing from her care which is just like mine and i stopped to talk with her.. Our local dealer quoted prices of several hundreds of dollars.to repair my car as well as her cari feel that this problem should be covered under a recall. There seems to be some recalls on other nissan's like the rogue that have a recall for the door handle falling off and only "service advisories" on others. I will never by a nissan again. This is unacceptable. If you google this problem on this car there are a lot of postings from people that have had this same problem on this same car.

Nissan rear wheel out of alignment by 0.28 degree , nissan , and repair shops cannot maje an alignment due to not having aligning componamts. Have researched and found that not only dose this iinvolve nissan versa it also has been reported by altima, sentra, and 350z owners . And nissan is staying mum on it

This vehicles hub caps all broke and fell off within 20k miles. Now at 50k miles the muffler is rusted and needs to be replaced. Repair shop says they see these verses all the time with the same issues.

In pulling out of my driveway in reverse, the front coil spring on the passenger side fractured. The driveway had a bit of snow cover, which i drove through. My mechanic assured me that level of resistance should not have caused the coil to fracture, rather he questioned whether a defect in the metallurgy might have caused the break. He examined the driver side coil as well and determined that it also was defective and replaced both. I appear to have had the same issue as owners of later model versa cars.

Have had to have the roters, brakes and tire changed about every 2 months, i only drive maybe 2000 miles monthly. Within 2 months the car is shaking.

After driving on the highway we parked the car.we noticed a portion of broken coil spring lying under the front passenger tire.after investigation we found this was a portion of the bottom of the front suspension coil.i checked the front driver side and found the bottom of the coil is broken, but has not yet fallen from the suspension mount.i checked the nhtsa site and learned there was a recall for the front coils (nhtsa recall 15v-573).i called nissan and they told me this recall does not apply to our vin, it is limited to cars sold/registered on the east coast. This car as originally in ca, then went to wa, then germany before it was recently brought to md.this car has not been in an accident, nor driven over rough terrain; so it is hard to comprehend how both coils would have cracked.the noted recall defect of 'insufficient corrosion coating' it listed as only applicable to east coast cars; but this incident seems to point to it being a broader manufacturing defect.

The contact owns a 2007 nissan versa. The contact statedwhile driving approximately 40 mph. The contact stated that thepassenger's front side wheel fractured without warning and the axle was fractured. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic. The mechanic diagnosed that the cv axle and the lower right control arm needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated she experienced the same failure on the driver's front side wheel. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was unavailable.

In 2014, my versa's rf coil spring fractured. A large piece of it actually detached and fell onto the road as the car was being driven out of my driveway. I took it to a private garage and the spring and strut were replaced. In fall of 2015 i received the recall notice regarding this issue. In january 2016, i took the car to capital nissan in wilmington, nc, where i now live, and i was told that in order for the recall to be completed, i would need to purchase a new rf and lf strut out of pocket because the existing struts are fused by corrosion to the mounts. Moreover, i was toldby the nissan recall center that i could not be reimbursed for the repairs i already had completed until i had the recall work completed. So, i am being held hostage by nissan. They won't make good the repairs that the recall forces them to make unless i pay them more money and they won't reimburse me for repairs already made by me that were necessitated by the defect that led to the recall. This does not seem right to me and i am appealing to you for redress. I hope you can help me.i don't think your recall went far enough, by the way. Later in the summer of 2014, the repair facility to which i had taken the versa for the strut was inspecting my car and informed me that the crossmember for the automatic transmission, as well as the lower right control arm, were corroded to the point of failure and needed to be replaced. I couldn't believe that the workmanship on this car could be so shoddy that parts would rust out in such a wholesale fashion - not until i received the recall notice. That repair cost me an additional $1600 (roughly, excluding tax). I can provide you with invoices for these repairs, if it will help you understand the problem and perhaps take a closer look at others' corrosion-related troubles with the nissan versa.

Car just seemed to be leaning on the left side, also found that the ride wasvery rough. Took it to the dealer where they foundthat the left coil spring and sway bar were snapped in half.

I was driving at approximately 5-10 mph on a slight downward slope when the vehicle suddenly made a loud noise, the vehicle was jarred, and the vehicle came to an abrupt stop. After exiting the vehicle, i found the front passenger tire had come off from the suspension, and it was misaligned and sticking out at an angle.in addition, there were shattered pieces of vehicle parts on the ground. The vehicle was resting only on three tires. Luckily the vehicle stopped rather than rolling down the slope and colliding with several cars as well as people; however, the vehicle did have to be towed as it was not drive-able following the incident. The vehicle required over $640 worth of repairs including but not limited to the control arm, drive axle and shaft.several months following the incident, nissan opened a campaign specifically for corrosion of the front coil springs. The vehicle had been driven in michigan from 2007 to summer 2012 where there is heavy snow and salt on the roads in the winter. From the summer 2012 to now, the vehicle has been driven in the dc metro area. I took the vehicle to a nissan dealership in april 2016 to have the campaign completed, which was replacing the front coil springs. Upon inspection of the vehicle by nissan, i was told that nissan was unable to replace solely the front coil springs because they were unable to disassemble other parts needed to get to the coil springs due to other parts having significant damage from corrosion (ex. Strut, bearing, mount, etc.).as a result, multiple parts (not just the coil springs) had to be replaced.

Pulling into driveway heard a loud pop and the front end went down. Found the front passenger side tire flat and a broken spring on the ground behind it. When the dealer was called about cost to fix we were told it is under recall. We had not been made aware of the recall and thankfully this did not happen at 70mph speed. Very concerned for those who are still driving these unaware of this hazard.

During a regular servicing, it was discovered that the front coil spring (driver side) had broken.it appeared that it had been broken for some time due to the rust evident throughout the broken piece.the vehicle has only 16k miles of light suburban driving, so i feel a defective part must have been used in the manufacture of this car.

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2007 nissan versa. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign numbers: 17v449000 and 17v028000 (air bags), and 15v573000 (suspension); however, the parts needed for the repair were not available. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact called executive nissan at (888) 994-0536 (located at 900 universal dr n, north haven, ct 06473) and was informed that the part was not available. The manufacturer stated that the part would become available sometime in the spring of 2018. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

Front left coil spring broke while leaving parking spot; broken spring came to rest on tire (damaged).looked online and lo and behold, versas 2008-2010 are apparently being looked at for this.mine is a 2007, but i want to put this out there so others know to have theirs checked out.thank god i was going 5mph as i pulled out, not at 70mph.

Vehicle was in motion on a highway when it unexpectedly started shaking and sliding/skidding from side to side ending in a crash. Furthermore, malfunctioning airbags resulted in severe cuts, bruises and other injuries to face and other body parts.

The contact owns a 2007 nissan versa. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, there was a loud noise heard from the vehicle. The contact later discovered that the front passenger's side coil spring was fractured.the dealer stated that the coil spring needed to be replaced but did not provide a reason as to why the coil spring fractured while the vehicle was not in motion. The failure mileage was 23,389.the vin was not available.

While driving, my right front suspension failed; spring cut into tire and had to be replaced along with both front coils; i checked the complaint register on the nhtsa site and noticed several similiar incidents mainly involving the right front springs. Most occur under low mileage on the vehicles. It would appear that a defective part was installed that year(2007) on versa 1.8l vehicles.

The front coil spring broke in two impaling my front passenger side tire and locking up my front end resulting in a lose of control while driving.after having my vehicle towed and repaired i learned of a recall by nissan which i had no prior knowledge of because i was never notified until after the incident.nissan has repeatedly denied to reimburse me for repairs in direct violation numerous sections of 49cfr part 573.13

Coil spring on passenger front broke while pulling out of parking lot. Broken coil rubbing on tire, but did not puncture. Coil spring replaced.on 03/12/2015 coil spring on driver front broke while pulling out of driveway. Mileage was 103124 at time of incident. Broken coil damaged strut such that entire assembly had to be replaced.

The contact owns a 2007 nissan versa. The contact received a recall notification for the suspension. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer for the recall repair appointment and a mechanic made a general statement that a front end alignment was necessary before the recall repair would be completed. The contact was waiting for a response from the manufacturer to determine the solution to repair the vehicle concerning what the dealer stated. The nhtsa campaign number was unknown. The contact was not experiencing a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

Ourdaughter was pulling out of our driveway when she heard a loud pop and the right front of car nose down . She then backed back into the driveway and called me. When i can home i jacked the front passenger side up and removed the tire to find coil spring had broke and cut a grove in the sideway of the tire.i foundthe other part of the coil spring laying out in the road 10 feet from our driveway.while i was working on the car i asked my daughter to call the nissan dealer about repair cost which they did call back with but she said the serviceman never asked what had happened. This is a problem and a safety issue which needs to be addressed.

This vehicles hub caps all broke and fell off within 20k miles. Now at 50k miles the muffler is rusted and needs to be replaced. Repair shop says they see these verses all the time with the same issues.

Was driving down the street in my town going around 25 mph when it sounded as though i hit something, but looked back and didn't see anything.heard a popping noise when i would turn right but then it went away, but the car felt funny when i drove it, so i took it into the dealer to get it checked out and discovered the passenger side has a broken coil spring.did some research and discovered this is a very common issue with these cars, and i lucked out since many coil springs, when they break, often tear apart the tire, which if going at high speeds could cause a loss of control of the vehicle and cause a potentially serious/fatal accident.

Heard a clunk of metal from front right.stopped the car and inspected the front and found right front spring had broken.if the spring had fallen off the perch there would have been loss of control!

The driver's side front spring broke on my 2007 nissan versa. Luckily, i was driving slowly (about 30mph) on a quiet road (no big pot holes or bumps). I heard a huge pop and then had trouble steering. After pulling it into a gas station, i quickly noticed that the entire front driver's side was nearly resting on my front tire. Luckily, the tire wasn't compromised by the spring/body. The car was not drivable and had to be towed. From my knowledge of cars, springs tend to last for the lifetime (or beyond) of the vehicle. This is dangerous and unexpected.

The entire control panel went out. After restarting the car, it appears there was a burning smell. More repairs for a car that is only a few years old and not even paid off. Began with the suspension right after the warranty went out. What a piece of pooh!

My husband was backing our versa out of the driveway when he heard a piece of metal hit the street and the front passenger side of the vehicle sunk down. He found a u-shaped chunk of metal on the ground after the front suspension coil had cracked completely clean in half. The mechanic had to replace the entire front suspension system as it appeared to have the beginnings of a crack in the coil on the other side as well. Fortunately, it did not happen while driving at any speed.the mechanic said he was surprised that the dealer had the parts in stock, making me think this might be a common problem. I reported the problem to nissan as well.

2007 nissan versa always pulls to the left, alignment problem.

The contact owns a 2007 nissan versa. While driving approximately 25 mph, the contact heard a loud bang coming from the vehicle. The vehicle began to wobble and there was a rubbing sound that was heard when making left and right turns. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the front driver's side coil spring had fractured and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 44,500. The consumer stated the nissan offered to replace both front springs at no charge and reimburse the amount for what was already repaired. Updated 2/1/2016

Replacement shocks distributed by the dealer for a prior recall are leaking.

The contact owns a 2007 nissan versa. While driving 10 mph, the front passenger wheel detached from the vehicle without warning. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic. The technician diagnosed that the lower control arm and axle fractured. As a result, both needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was 61,800. Ma 10/29/2015

Both front suspension coils broke.i heard, then saw something drop off my car.i went back for the part and drove to the dealership.it was part of a suspension coil.they put it up on the racks and found that both front coils were broken.they said they have never seen this on any car before.it seems to me there has to be a defect either in the metal used to make the coil or in the design.the dealership said there is no recall issued from nissan on this, but i wonder if it is something that should be investigated in case there is a defect.i was lucky but someone else might be hurt if the suspension is falling apart.

I own a 2007 nissan versa sl hatchback.i am the second owner.purchased car with 78,000 miles.car was pre-inspected before purchase. My certified master mechanic gave the car very high marks.at around the 96450 mileage mark, i noticed a creaking sound when turning steering wheel.my mechanic inspected it and determined my lower right ball joint needed repair.he also determined my left front driver coil spring was broken.i keep my car in very good working order and gently drive it around 10,000 miles per year since purchasing it.not sure why these two items malfunctioned.i have noticed other versa owners on the internet reporting similar problems.thanks for looking into this.

The 2007 nissan versa pulls to the left while driving. While decelerating the steering wheel shakes violently; additionally you can hear a squealing coming from the front end while braking. It sounds as though the universal joint is coming loose.

The contact owns a 2007 nissan versa. While driving 50 mph, there was a loud clanking sound coming from the front driver side tire. The contact pulled over and noticed the coil spring on the ground under the front driver side tire. The contact immediately picked the spring up and drove the vehicle to a local mechanic who stated that the front driver and passenger side coil springs needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 15v573000 (suspension) and contacted the manufacturer to be reimbursed for the repairs, but the claim was denied. The failure mileage was 115,537.

My husband was backing out of the garage and a piece of the suspension coil (driver side front) fell off for no reason. My four year old twins were in the back in their car seats. We are currently towing it to get it fixed. We called a dealership and they said only certain vehicles from that time period are covered for this defect. There is a national technical service bulletin about it. Our car is not covered (determined by dealership by vin). I would hate to think what would have happened if my family was not in the driveway but instead driving down the road when this happened.

While pulling away from a parked position in our driveway, the passenger side front coil spring broke.the remaining larger portion of the spring was now rubbing against the inside wall of the fr tire.the jagged edge wascloser to the engine side, fortunately.the smaller broken piece was on the ground, shaped like a half circle.there was no rust on either spring piece.

The contact owns a 2007 nissan versa. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the dealer under a recall for the clock spring; however, the cross mount fractured while attempting to retrieve the clock spring due to corrosion. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and stated that they would not repair the vehicle. The vin was unknown. The approximate failure mileage was 68,000.

Front right strut was replaced 3 times among other parts without any luck to solve the problem. Also that car has a problem with the a/c system that comes from the factory without enough freon or no freon at all.

Left front coil spring broke.car was parked in garage and when it was started in order to back out of the garage, there was a banging sound.i got out to see if i had hit anything on the garage and found a piece of the spring on the garage floor.spring was replaced.

Nissan versa 2007 front coil spring snapped. The car was parked in driveway.as we backed up heard loud clunck piece of coil was on ground. Lucky to be in driveway at time it happened. Took car to monroes the tried to get part no good went to dealer. They first said 2 days to get part . Did not happen. Not the part has an unknown eta. Nissan dealer parts person said there we 584 coils on back order. This problem seem to be metal defect when the spring was made. Really hard to believe nissan does not have any in stock.they are still producing versas so why not get the coil springs from the assembly plant. It is costing a lot of money to rental a vehical with no repair in site. Maybe this need to be a recall on this part. I have a piece of the coil if needed for analizing. Thanks

About april 8 20079 days while purchasing this car i reported a complaint to the local bayridgenissan service department about a clunking and knocking noise in the front end of the car and felt in the steering wheel, the vehicle had less than 200 miles at the time. After at least 12/15 trips to variousservice department for repair attempts, right axle, struts, strut mounts, strut bearings on the left and right side, the problem would not go away. They eventually placed large metal washers between the sub frame and cross brace support because they stated that the sub frame bushings had sagged, or where improperly installed at the manufacturer. Now the steering feels loose and the only way i can describe it is it feels as if the steering column is separating when taking turns over uneven road surfaces.they have changed right axle many times but no use , nissan north america representative mr justin hall revied case 3 times could not fix the vehicle from his mechanic send by nissan . This vehicle is adangerous vehicle i have no other means to as i have tried two 2 nissan service stations and nissan mechanic, still problem is there 2 weeks back brake suddenly went down i drove with out brake for a while, my family travels in this car. Any incident / accident due to failure of these parts i will held nissan liable.

Noisy worn front strut bushings.

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2007 nissan versa. The contact took the vehicle to harbor nissan (4336 tamiami trail, port charlotte, fl) to be repaired per nhtsa campaign numbers: 17v449000 (air bags) and 17v028000 (air bags). At the dealer, the contact was informed by the technician that the coil spring assembly was defective and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was only partially repaired and the dealer charged the contact for the coil spring corrosion repair. Afterwards, the contact stated that the vehicle veered while driving various speeds. The failure mileage was approximately 125,000.

2007 nissan versa. Consumer writes in regards to issues with vehicles tires. *ld

Soon after our purchase, 6/07, the light came on,its been back to many different dealers over a dozen times,,.it cannot be disconnected, disengaged.reprogramming is one option, replacing at $150/visit per wheel is the other option.we have had both on multiple occasions. Our problem is, that the sensor when it fails, tells the tire to reduce pressure.a perfectly good tire filled with 37 psi will in 24 hours come down to 20 psi...this is a disaster and i am surprised there has been no class action law suits... I have spent time and money, replaced tires to prove the point, and after almost 6 years am ready to give up... Something so simple and stupid cannot be fixed or removed.. Nissan dealers blame it on pot holes, corrosion, or bad manufactured tires.american roads are filled with these perils and the system designed by nissan is a failure because it cannot stand up...i own 9 other vehicles made after 2007 and not of the others have had any problems like this..

Tire pressure monitoring system light keeps turning on, even if all the tire pressure are within specs.

The tpms light comes on though tires are properly inflated.manufacturer's instructions for reset do not work.i've had it to the dealer twice for this problem. They reset it, after implying that after 40+ years of driving, i don't know how to inflate a tire.after awhile it comes on again.

I, along with many other versa owners have experienced the failure of the tire pressure monitoring system. Apparently, there is no permanent fix yet available, thus rendering the tpms useless.

The tire pressure monitor system, or tpms, on the 2007 nissan versa that i, and many, many others own, keeps failing.the tpms light on the dash will blink and then stay steady on, which nissan, in the manual, says is a fault has occurred in the tpms monitor system and you have to take to the dealer for repair.nissan dealers have no fix and it is a cause of great concern.i have already had this problem 'fixed' once at 1100 miles and then problem recurred at around 2000 miles. For a better understanding of how wide spread this issue is, please seehttp://forums.nicoclub.com/zerothread/203231 and http://forums.nicoclub.com/zerothread/197348i've contacted nissan and was told that this is a dealer problem.the dealer doesn't know how to fix it and is waiting on nissan. My concern is that my tpms light stays on and it is not doing me any good.i have no way to tell if a tire is going flat while moving because the system is completely useless in the car.

Purchased 2007 nissan versa, includes the tire pressure monitoring systems (tpms) as required by the nhtsb.in the first 2,000 miles of ownership, the system has falsely triggered twice.in both cases, tire pressures were per specification.nissan dealer found no mechanical issues, either with the tires themselves or with the tpms system.

Continuing problems with the tire pressure monitoring system light staying on despite correcting the tire pressure.this seems to be a problem with many nissan versa 2007 owners and should be addressed by the manufacturer in a recall. Already had one trip to the dealer for correction at 3500 miles. Incident date should read november 21, 207--latest incident of tpms light staying on despite corrected action taken.

The tpms system in my 2007 versa has stopped working properly.it has failed and came on with the tire pressure fine.i have taken it to a dealer and they told me the first time that i had one tire that was 1lb low and that it would shut off within the next 5 miles or so/.it did to come back on in 10 miles.i have talked to them several times and they tell me that they will put it on their machine to test it for $45.

Tire pressure monitoring system (tpms) installed on the vehicle, per new nhtsa regulations, has failed multiple times with a fault condition displayed on the dash light.nissan dealer does not have a permanent fix, they just "reregister" the sensors which is only a temporary fix.initial failure on this vehicle occurred at 4216 miles and was "re-registered", and failed again at approximately 5400 miles.failure prevents tpms system from functioning correctly - it reports an error when all tires are ok, and the continuous error effectively disables the system for its intended purpose.

The tire pressure monitoring sysytem on my 2007 nissan versa continually shows a fault when the tire pressure is actually correct on all 4 tires.

The contact owns a 2007 nissan versa. The contact started the ignition, and observed that the "traction control" warningindicator light illuminated on the instrument panel. The warning indicator remained illuminated until the engine was shut off. The contact inflated the four tires to the correct air pressure and the problem persisted. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 43,000.

The contact owns a 2007 nissan versa. The contact stated that while turning left and downshifting to 20 mph, the front of the vehicle became uncontrollable and the contact swerved several times. The contact was able to decelerate and maintain control of the vehicle but then crashed into a curve. The vehicle was towed to a local body repair shop where the contact was advised that the traction control failed, causing the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and the current mileage was 75,000.

Nissan recallmy front coil spring broke on the driver's side. I had placed my car into drive, went to move the car forward and heard the part break and fall to the ground. I paid to get it replaced and it cost me over $1,000. I never received notification that this part was recalled. Found out today, march 2, 2019 that it was recalled after receiving notice of an airbag recall and immediately calling the given number.

The ball joint has broken off my car once (not while in an accident or on a pot hole), and has been replaced three times since the incident.

Transmision was replaced by nissan and only 30000 miles after replacement transmision broke down and car wont run

The tire pressure monitor system, or tpms, on the 2007 nissan versa that i, and many, many others own, keeps failing. I have no way to tell if a tire is going flat while moving because the system is completely useless in the car.

Cruise control electrical spring went out.rear window defroster went out and the ac control for the defroster needs replaceing.the cruise control went out while i was driving. I do not know when the rear defroster went out.

-the contact purchased a new 2007 nissan versa. Whilr driving off the lot the engine stalled 6 miles away from the dealership, who had vehicle towed back to diagnose the failure. The vehicle stalled 3 more times.the dealership replaced the throttle, but the problem still existed. The contact was informed by the dealershipthat it was unsafe to drive the vehicle.

I own a 2007 nissan versa 4dr sedan.the windshield has developed a crack and there appears to be no road hazard involved.after doing an online search i have found many others reporting the same problem.this can be found at: http://townhall-talk.edmunds.com/direct/view/.f154ccbthe dealership is trying to deny my warranty because of a tiny flake missing in the crack that they say is what caused it.

The sun visors (l and r) will not stay up on the hook, they fall down. Partially blocking forward view. Neither visor will hold at any position, including stored. They continue to drop down. I am presently using velcro to secure the visors in a stored or up position. There ia no apparent means of adjustment, and the dealers want $200 plus to fix. I have never had an automobile have this problem with the sun visors, and i have owned at least 11 cars since 1956.

The defrost system does not function properly.it doesn't matter how fast you are driving. The system cannot keep windows free from fog and during cold spells, it cannot keep the fog off the windshield.it is so dangerous to drive that i have actually had to pull off the road.no matter the interior temperature is set, whether you open the window, or how fast the blower goes, nothing seems to help see.the back passenger window have never been able to clear making it impossible to check for cars in the 'blind' area when changing lanes.i don't know what to do; i pray you can come up with a solution.just think about driving down the road on a cold day or night and being able to see for a while.then, the fog slowly overtakes the windows and windshield.always the windows!

The contact owns a 2007 nissan versa. The contact stated that when starting the vehicle and accelerating, the vehicle would exhibit an abnormal rattling from the engine. The contact discovered that one of the mounts seemed out of place. In addition, the sunroof was inoperable and would not open. The vehicle was taken to the dealer yet the dealer was unable diagnose the engine failure and did not assist with the sunroof failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 48,000. The vin was unavailable.

Ongoing electrical problems that cause sensorslights, windshield wipers. Ac and engine issues.

Dash button for rear defroster doesn't work at all and a/c button is working only when pressing it for an extended period of time or if you apply extreme pressure and wiggle the button. During a rainy period this is causing a hazard because one cannot see clearly due to the fogging of front and rear windows.

When the problem initially happened, i would have to push the rear defroster button hard (and sometimes wiggle it) in order to make it work.however, after a week of doing that to get the snow, frost, and fog off my rear windshield, the button no longer works (i.e. The light indicator does not come on, nor does the rear defroster turn on).after checking all my fuses (in the hood and cabin) and finding that the fuses were in perfect working order, i began to look on various nissan versa forum sights to see if i could troubleshoot the matter.after typing my problem in, numerous nissan forums popped up discussing this exact problem.many people have stated that the reason the rear defroster does not work is due to an inferior a/c controller.i understand that times are tough and companies want to make money by using cheap parts, however when it comes to safety this should not be the issue.

The contact owns a 2007 nissan versa.the contact stated the sun roof drain ducts should drain the water from the vehicle, leaks inside the passenger compartment.the failure causes the side curtain air bags to become wet.the vehicle was taken to the dealer twice for repair and they blew air into the air ducts to clean them out.the dealer stated that this process would have to be performed periodically in order to keep the air ducts from clogging.the manufacturer stated that the contact would have to pay for the repair because it was not covered under warranty.the failure mileage was 19,000 and current mileage was 25,000.updated 10/16/09the consumer wanted to know the status of his complaint. Tacit recall . This car has a air bag light blinking and also a tire pressurelight blinking too . I know that nissan waiting for parts to start calling cars in to fix this issue with air bags , what i should do in case of an air bag blow out .my daughter use this car for school and work .

Have had to have the roters, brakes and tire changed about every 2 months, i only drive maybe 2000 miles monthly. Within 2 months the car is shaking.

The ball joint has broken off my car once (not while in an accident or on a pot hole), and has been replaced three times since the incident.

Tire pressure monitors failed in all 4 tires

The hubcaps on nissan versas are held on my plastic tabs which are easily broken when rotating the tires.one tab (of four) was damaged on one of my tires when my nissan dealer rotated the tires at the beginning of june.i thought the hubcaps were replaced securely.one week prior to the incident my husband commented that one of the hubcaps didn't look right.on the 28th i was driving on the freeway, in crowded traffic at 75 mph.i believe the wind caught my hubcap. I heard a sound, then saw something flip up on the side of my car.i thought i'd kicked something up from the roadway.then something flew across my rearview mirror and caught my attention.i looked closer and saw my hubcap flying through traffic and across the interstate.i did not stop to retrieve it as i did not feel it safe in the congestion.i was very thankful that no one swerved to miss it as it could have caused a disastrous accident.i have since looked online to find that this is not an isolated incident.furthermore, i have tried to contact my nissan dealer for a replacement but have yet to hear back from them.currently i am driving without a hubcap on that tire.i will likely replace all the hubcaps as soon as money permits.

2007 nissan versa hubcaps fly off while driving, hitting other cars.

Vehicle was in motion on a highway when it unexpectedly started shaking and sliding/skidding from side to side ending in a crash. Furthermore, malfunctioning airbags resulted in severe cuts, bruises and other injuries to face and other body parts.

Hubcaps are faulty. All of them have fallen off over a period of 4 months. Replacement (non nissan) were put on and no problems have happened over 50k on those.

I lost two hubcaps.when i discovered the first hubcap,i took the vehicle to the dealer to have it replaced.i was told the cost would be $150.00.a years later, i was driving on a city street when i lost the hubcap.another driver followed me until i stopped in a parking lot.the couple informed me where i lost the hubcap.they informed me they had two swerve to prevent the hubcap from rolling into their vehicle.i decided to change my nissan dealer service location to have my car serviced.when i arrived to have an oil change, they asked about my hubcaps.i told them what the previous service department informed me.this new service department informed me that the hubcap were covered under my warranty.the original dealer should have never tried to charge me to replace the hubcap.the second dealer tried to work something out for me since my car had less than 35k miles.but, there was nothing he could do.

This vehicles hub caps all broke and fell off within 20k miles. Now at 50k miles the muffler is rusted and needs to be replaced. Repair shop says they see these verses all the time with the same issues.
