"takata recall", due to unawareness of future issues since all "vin" numbers have not been input into the recall system that may go pass the deadline plus brake issues(scrubbing as i drive/regular braking,"i don't ride the brake" ever but i drive daily whether on dry/clear road to wet roads less than 1 month post purchase having only 28,300 miles on it at purchase & still, continues today, after having it checked) for my 2014 nissan versa that i've purchased less than 6 months ago, today, i'm severely concerned due to info mentioned on www.safercar.gov, which i was instructed via us mail to seek detailed info on the takata recall & other issues plus the safety of my daughters & i! the website specifically stated that all "vin" numbers recalled have not yet been input & may present issues in the future even if not on current recall list, therefore i need these issues resolved asap!

"takata recall" my passenger airbags lights come on and off.it's never been involved in a accident. Also while driving my car make nose like it a motorcycle get louder when i accelerate. I had my car for 6 months now.

The passenger side airbag disabled light inadvertently remained lit, & the red airbag warning light stays on indicating the car's airbag system is disabled completely. Car was being driven on secondary roads when condition occurred.

May 11,2017 i was hit from behind. While sitting behind a van at a light. Waiting for the light to turn green, a car hit me hard from behind. I hit the fan in front of me buckling hood & the front grill were torn to pieces. My airbag did not go off at all.i was rush to the hospital with tailbone, back problems. Right today i'm still having back problems. Going back & forward to doctors right today. Yes please, i wonder why my air bag did not go off.

This car has only 34,000 miles on it and the air bag warning light has come and is flashing constantly ... Given the mileage of the car i was shocked and amazed that i would be having a problem.other problem i've had is that it has staled out a couple of times for not reason at all when pulling out onto the road.

Similar to recall 16v244000.air bag light going on and off while driving down the road with either an adult or a 12 year old girl in the seat.first happened last year, dealer checked and reset the sensor as a "customer courtesy" so there is no paper trail.happened again while on vacation.took it to the nearest dealer who again reset the seat sensor on 04/19/2017.issue reoccurred today, 04/26/2017.sometimes just the passenger airbag light goes on or off.other times, the air bag indicator on the dash will also illuminate.it can occur while stationary, backing out of the driveway, while on neighborhood roads, intermediate roads and on the highway.we've pulled over, shut off and restarted the car, no change in behavior.it hasn't been into the dealer yet for today's issue, but the symptoms are the same as the previous two times.three times in one year would indicate a flaw in a component or system to me.

Rear ended the vehicle in front of me at 30 mph causing total loss of vehicle, airbags did not deploy.

Airbag light on dash blinks, no recall is showing for my vehicle vin.airbag has never been deployed.displays regardless of speed.has been occurring for months (nearly a year as best i can recall), this is the first i became aware of a method to report.

Subject: passenger side air bag activation sensor comments: i have a nissan versa note 2014. When my wife is in the passenger seat (she weights 104 lbs) the "passenger air bag off" warning light stays on, indication that the air bag is not activated. The dealer says the system is designed that way to protect children, and that the weight sensor for the light is set at about 150 lbs. In accordance with federal standards. Can this possibly be true?? i maintain that this is a product design defect if the safety of a small (circa 100 lbs) adult is not protected.

Front passenger air bag stopped activating when there was an adult in the seat.the light displays showing it's disabled and the air bag warning light is constantly flashing on the driver's side control panel.not sure if timing was coincidence or not, but this started happening immediately after i placed a 12-pack of soda on the seat for a few block drive home from the store.it disabled the air bag while the 12-pack was on the seat, and then it never re-engaged for an adult in the seat.repair appointment scheduled with the dealership.

Was sitting in traffic at a stand still and was struck from behind by a vehicle traveling at high speed, pushing my daughters car into the car in front of her. Her car has been claimed as a total loss.she struck her face on the steering wheel resulting in a black eye and closed head injury.her airbags never deployed anywhere in the vehicle.

The air bad did not deployed in time there was few second delay which caused my daughter to hit her head on steering wheeland then went off.also the breaks she had delayed timing to hit the break like her foot was stuck or something which delayedstopping.

While traveling out a country road, i was coming up to a stop sign at the bottom of a hill.when i made an attempt to stop, i had no brakes what so ever.i could see that there was no traffic coming from either direction so i made an attempt to make the turn on to the roadway but had no steering either.with no way to control the car i ended up going straight through the stop sign, across the road, through a tree stump and into the side of an abandoned house. With the impact the airbags did not come out even with an impact great enough to cause suspension damage along with other major body and structural damage to the front and passenger side of the car.this is the second time with this vehicle the air bags did not come out, the first is when my husband hit a deer head on at 55mph and air bag sensors had to be replaced due to them being triggered.about a week before, i lost power steering while making a low speed turn but car quickly recovered.the dash and radio has flashed several times on and off and while attempting to accelerate from a stop the car acts as if it has no power and shutters before finally picking up speed.the dealerships service department stated that there is nothing wrong with the car and would send us on our way and when asked about the non air bag deployment they just stated that sometimes it happens, well now it has happened twice.

Takata recall possible - airbag indicator light flashes off and on often more noticeable over the last 1-2 months

Takata recall on air bags and brakes pad

Takata recall -i received notice that my car may have a dangerous defect that could cause serious injury.i'm not able to locate any further information about this situation on your website even though i put my vin number in to have my vehicle searched in your data base.please notify me in regard to this problem.

I almost died. T he transmission is trash. When the car comes to stop and hit the pedal the car doesn't move and when if finally accelerates keeps shaking and the transmission slips and jerks.

I have been taking my car to nissan since my purchase. I was having cooling issues, radiator issues, and car not starting. With all these issues and years of repairs..my cvt transmission finally went out. I had no clue as they were fixing and servicing this car. I call nissan affairs dept as i had to pay $5050.00 to replace it out of my pocket! nissan states out of warranty 5 months ago!!. I inquired to why i was never contacted about transmission issues and problems or the opportunity to be included in the civil action with this vehicle. They claimed they had the old owners information which is a lie as i have received prior documentation for warranty notifications in my name! excuse after excuse to not help me. That got me good with the 5050.00 for an ongoing issue for this vehicle. Nissan does not help at all!

Driving on city road at about 40 mph going over bridge, and car just shut off in middle of driving.cars had to swerve to avoid hitting me. Almost got hit a couple times. Stuck in middle of a busy road.the car has 61,000 miles on it. Regularly oil changes and serviced. There was no warning lights or warnings beforehand that prepared me for the incident. Checked battery connections and tried to restart, no startup. Had to car a tow truck to get it towed to home, then to nissandealership in my area. The nissan service in my area has been trying to figure out what the issue is,and they have no idea.

Never had issues until now but i've been randomly having issues with my power steering locking up on me. It's a real dangerous safety hazard because one minute it's normal and drivable. Then i may get back in the car and it's locking up again. I don't have a regular power steering pump, because my car runs off electric power steering. I just really need help figuring out the source of this issue.

Justlook atmy recall on my vehicle and it had no repair at all.

Takata inflators. Not really sure if it's correctly done. While driving the car i started smelling burning wires. After smelling that, the air-conditioning/fan stopped blowing. No heat, no air-conditioning, no fan, no defrost. I pulled into a had station and cut everything off and seen smoke coming out from underneath the hood. I popped the hood and seen about where the smoke was coming from and seen that there were wires infact that were burnt.

Connections in the exhaust system crack and you must replace the entire system including the pipe and the muffler. In addition, the pipe from the crack forward is also beginning to crack. This was made with defective metal, as a vehicle with 43,000 miles should not have to replace this pipe and muffler, because nissan made it as one piece. This ends up to be a $400+ job which should have been in service for many more miles. This muffler and pipe must be ordered from nissan because there are no aftermarket alternatives. There are a number of complaints about this same problem on line.

Intermittent lack of acceleration. Happened 4 times in 6 days. Tried accelerating from stop to enter cross street and found no acceleration and no engine increase. Traveled 50 feet at 6 to 10 mph before a response with pedal to the floor. Turned into dealer, but there was no resolution. This is a possible deadly problem.

This car takes forever to warm up in winter. I don't let it sit and idle, i drive slowly for a while. It takes me 20 minutes to get to work and just starting to warm up then. Is this because it has two thermostats and an oil cooler? its an annoyance. I even leave heater off till temp gauge has 6 bars and that only minimally solves the problem.

While driving on a 3 lane road for which the speed limit is 55mph on a hot summer nevada day (103 degrees) the versa suddenly felt as if it was dragging and began to loose speed. Eventually the car stopped moving even though my foot was on the gas. I checked the fuel level which still had a little less than half , checked to see if the gear was on neutral but it was on drive, i looked at the dashboard and the brake light and ps icon were on. I checked for the emergency break to see it was engaged but it was not. The a/c was blasting, the radio was on, the engine sounded active but car was not moving. I turned off everything, unplugged my ipod and turned off the ignition. I then turned the car on and was able to drive it another 3 miles to the safety of my home. I was advised by the sales person i dealt with to bring the car in for service. The service tech was unable to find anything wrong with the car, they could not recreate the issue and made me take the car back. I told the dealer i want to return the car, of course it's an issue because the 3 day period to return the car was already passed. I opened a case with the nissan hq , they are claiming it has to do with the gas i put in the car and the extreme temperatures in nevada. Nissan consumer affairs rep told me he heard of similar cases and problem went away when costumer changed the grade of gas used . This sounds like bologna to me. The dealer claims they will look into it, but i don't feel safe driving this vehicle. I read about other cases where this happened multiple times to 1 car in less than a week. It's a safety issue for me , my passengers and the drivers around me. No warning ,no time to get out on a busy freeway . I am not putting lives on the line.

I almost died. T he transmission is trash. When the car comes to stop and hit the pedal the car doesn't move and when if finally accelerates keeps shaking and the transmission slips and jerks.

Was driving on highway during stop and go traffic and engine cut off completely while the car was in drive. Put car in park, and try to restart but vehicle would not restart and had to be pushed to the side of the road during traffic. Made several attempts to restart vehicle and it would not start. I let car sit for 30 minutes and car finally restarted.i tookthe car to dealership on 7/6/15 and they adjusted the idle but could not diagnose the issue. On 8/8/15, i was leaving a store and started to yield to turn onto a busy street and the car completely died again. I took the car on 8/11/15 to nissan dealership and they reprogrammed the ecm, but did not say that would permanently fix the issue. I'm an extremely concerned consumer as i have seen several post online from consumers for this very issue, and i don't feel nissan has done their part to diagnose the issue. Being that the car shuts off unexpectedly with out forewarning, i'm concerned should this shut down occur when the vehicle is traveling at a high speed a fatality could occur.

2014 nissan versa note with 9501 miles at time of last incident. When the problem occurs the car shifts rough at low speeds (10 mph) to medium speeds (45 mph). While the car is shifting rough the rpms of the engine maintains a normal flux in rpm but nothing drastic like an engine that is struggling to stay running. Once the car comes out of the rough shifting then the car quickly stalls. When the car stalls it does not spit and sputter like a car having problems running. This has happened 3 times within the 9501 mile that we have driven the car. This has happened at 45 mph while driving in traffic and while moving through a parking lot at about 10 mph back to back within a min of each stalling at about 10 mph. The owners manual says to use at least 87 aki and the lowest rating in our state is 87. We have always used at least the low grade and at times used mid-grade 89.nissan dealership only suggestion is to use premium gas.

Engine smell hot all the time.

Maybe not a safety issue, but highly irritating. In winter, no matter how cold, the vehicle takes way too long to heat up for warm cabin air. I live 7 miles from work, but it still takes almost 20 minutes to get there. I am not getting warm enough air until im almost at work. It matters not how long i let it idle. On very cold days, i dont get defroster heat and i have interior frost all the time. After reading versa forums online, im led to bellieve its all because the car has two thermostats and an oil cooler. In contrast, my wifes new 3 cylinder mitsubishi mirage is warm in about 5 minutes. Dealer says its normal for this car. Had i known this before hand i probably wouldnt have bought it.

To my understanding, my car has been overheating and the first time it overheated it was because i had no coolant. Then, the same night, i bought some coolant and had it checked out at the nearest auto zone. Couple of days later though, the car had shut off again. Luckily, each time was on the street so i can flash my emergency signal. However, i am very concerned with this recent news update and ensure my safety.

When starting up from a stop, the vehicle fails to accelerate when the gas pedal is pushed. This problem is intermittent andhas happened 4 times in the 18000 miles i have driven the car since new. This is a dangerous situation when trying to accelerate into traffic. When reported to the dealer, he didn't seem concerned but told me i could leave it for a few days to try and make it happen. With no offer of a loaner, i could not be without the car. I have seen that other owners have experienced this same problem and will return to the dealer and demand a full evaluation. I understand that the infrequency of the problem makes it difficult to diagnose, but that does not make the potential for serious injury any less serious.

I got my 2014 nissan versa note as a christmas gift from my parents in 2015. My parents did lots of research and was ensured that it was a safe and reliable car for a first time driver. Unfortunately this car has caused me many time consuming problems. I drive a lot to commute to my work. I've been having problems with nasty exhaust smells, slipping gears, delayed shifting, breaks delayed and grinding, and rpm"s shooting up when barely gasses. My commute is quite dangerous with heavy traffic and loads of semis passing one another. It really worries me and makes my fear for my safety when i've been having all of these problems i really shouldn't have with this new of a car. Bakersfield nissan had my car trying to fix it for a week and a half really putting a monkey wrench with my commute to work. They eventually had to replace the transmission and cv boot. Now i am having new problems and lots of grinding and rattling. They told me my car failed to replicate anything but the rpm"s shooting up. It really frustrates me knowing this car only has 50,000 miles on it!!!!!!! please help me figure this out

Firs time that i move my rear back seats to the front to make itflat andwhen i put my sit beltwas behindi try to pull the lock tomovethe seat and is nor working doesn't unlock. Now my seatbelt is stocked in the back forever... And after my 3 yearmy car stared making this clicking noise when i parklikethe bottom part stops first and the the body is annoying have to deal with thisthats why i chose to buy a new carbut the struggle os the same. Wrong car wrong choice.

Was driving vehicle back from las vegas back to california on 9/1/14. All accessories on a/c radio during the drive back started to hit traffic on the freeway. So i began to slow down and while sitting in stop and go traffic moving at about 30-35 mph, vehicle started to feel like it was misfiring started to shudder as i began to take off from a stop cruising up to 35mph the vehicle then completely die's and shuts off so i throw on the hazards and coast off to the shoulder at this point still in drive no power steering though. So i sit and wait on the shoulder again start the car up and started to get back on the highway but the vehicle still felt like it was hesitating while moving at slow speed in stop and go traffic but once the traffic started moving and i got up to normal 60-65mphthe vehicle felt normal again... Not sure if the heat from driving through the desertwas getting to the car but it only seem to do it at low speeds in stop and go traffic. But honestly when it did occur it was unsettling nonetheless being in traffic and the car completely shutting off and having no power steeringto get off the freeway. Can only imagine if it happenedata higher speed or taking a corner it could have bad consequencesthe car is brand new from the dealershipand honestly after this one incidentikinda have my doubts alreadyon reliability being a brand new car on long trips. It shouldn't exhibit any issues like this hopefully nissan is aware of this issue cause i plan to take it to a dealership to get it checked out. Not sure if there is any bulletins for this issue being such a new car or if i'm the only one that exhibited this issue, but definitely was not a good feeling driving a new car and having it shut off on you.

I was driving in stop and go traffic and as i stopped at a red light in the left turn lane, the engine cut off completely and would not start. I had to ask a group of people to help push my car to the side of the road during rush hour traffic. I waited about 30 minutes and the car was able to start again. I was nervous to drive on the expressway to get home as this could pose as a serious threat to safety.

Engine ,brakes and shifter this is the correct vin [xxx].information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Transmission shutters. Also hesitates when taking off or slow when taking off witch can lead to a accident. These transmissions fail too often. Nissan has not offered a upgrade to the problem. They wind up putting one defective tranny after another

When coming to a stop at a stop sign or red light, it seems as though even though you are braking, the car is still trying to push 'gas'. The car will feel like it is making little 'jerks'. It does not do it everytime, but enough to notice and make you uncomfortable. When stopped or parked, i also have noticed that the car 'shifts or moves easily and i am now in the habit of applying my emergency brake everytime i leave the car.

While coming to a stop the vehicle skips as if its going to cutoff.after coming to a stop at a red light it shuts down.this began on mon., 24 feb 2014 it continues today wed., 26 feb 2014.the vehicle had a full tank to 1/2 tank of gas when this began.i drive 51 miles to work oneway and this is a safety issue when there's traffic.

My cvt transmission went out on my vehicle which is 7 years old, and has 124,xxx miles on it. The more i read online that this issue is common, with significantlyless miles on it. My car would often shake or vigorously vibrate, and had the transmission go out while driving on a busy highway.

My care was shuttering and not shifting up and down as should. The car would shake and pause at take off. Could not accelerate properly or safely to get on high ways or on normal roads. When driving the vehicle it seems to want to shut off at times and pauses when accelerating the gas pedal. Very dangerous and the transmission is not good. I took it to dealer january 2018 and it was reprogrammed but it went right back to doing the same, slipping, shuttering shaking, pausing durring accelerating, on highway, during turns and going from complete stop, and while driving on city roads. Took back to dealer had diagnosed and its said to need a new transmission. Manufacturer refuses to fix their defective cvt transmission.. The car has had it's normal services.

The transmission does want to change from fist to second , very high rpms and i have too let off the gas and it changes but not very smooth

Brought this car used from a used car dealer in lilburn, ga for my college age daughter to get back and forth to school/work.while she was driving, the check engine light came on, i took the car to nissan south in morrow, ga for a diagnostic test and was told that the car needs a new transmission, that it would cost $3861.00 plus tax.i'm now finding that the cvt transmissions on these cars are crap! and nissan usa corp is aware of the problem.nissan opened a case for the car, we received a call from joshua w/nissan customer care and was told there was nothing they could do about the car (even though the mileage is under 100k).why is nissan able to profit off of consumers while selling a knowingly defective product?why hasn't the nhtsa stopped nissan from selling this vehicle? i will never buy another nissan again, ever!!!!

Transmission has problems shifting from 2nd to 3rd gear

My car had symptoms of jerking and delays when accelerating. The vehicle would shake heavily while driving on the freeway. After going to the mechanic for a diagnostic, it was confirmed that my nissan versa note had transmission issues. I then found out that several cars of this make/model were having similar problems. Estimates for a new transmission are heavy and i am hoping nissan takes ownership for these issues knowing how many cars are affected.

Since about one year ago, i have been having problems with the transmission of my versa note. First i took the car to nissan because of a big huge noise. They gave me instructions on what to do for avoiding the noise when changing from parking to drive.since that moment i've been doing what they asked me to, but sometimes it makes the noise. Now since about the month of december, the car is making a different noise like if it is going to turn off when i use the brake. About two months ago i had to get out of the road because it started making a noise when in motion on a city street, loose power, and almost turn off. I took it to nissan and they changed the air filter, and they cleaned something else. But the car still has the same problem. When i use the brake to let a pedestrian cross the street, sometimes at a red light, last monday to let a person get off the car; it start making a noise and shaking like turning off. I'm sure that the problem is the transmission, but nissan doesn't do anything. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

After having the transmission recall update performed by nissan the transmission is having issues with shifting. I have to let off of the accelerator for the transmission to downshift. I contacted nissan and they made a case and said i would have to pay for them to fix the problem even though they knew of the issues with the transmission.

Driving car at highway speeds and lost the ability to maintain speed. Had to pull alongside road. Had car towed to my mechanic where it was determined the transmission failed.

Car surges forward after stopping. Its like the transmission has jumped forward. If your foot isn't firmly on the brake, it could hit a car in front. It does it almost all the time.windshield washers aim very low, with no adjustment to raise them up.

Cvt started slipping as seen by tachometer jumping up and hearing the engine rev up as i went up a small hill (much like if i had a clutch to push in on a regular transmission)later that day on the way home on the interstate on level road did the same thing.pulling up a small hill as i proceed to the dealership and giving it gas to get up that hill, cvt made a very loud 'thump' (like i popped the clutch).car is not safe to drive now.car has only51,000 miles on it.

This vehicle went from 60 mph to less than 30 with the rpms over 5000 on the robert f kennedy bridge. If it wasn't for the fast thinking person behind her this would've resulted in a major accident.she was not able to go over 30 with the rpms over 5000 all the way to long island. Took it to the nissan dealer and it is the cvt transmission she needs a new transmission her vehicle is less than two years old that she has had it she bought it with 51,000 miles on it it now has 75,100 miles on it the dealer will not take responsibility for the bad transmission they want us to payover $2000 to fix.they will not stand by their product and fix it and less we come up with $2000 this is a known problem with nissan and there's cvt transmissions can you helpthe car is still sitting at nissan because we do not have the money nor would we expecting to have to come up with this large sum

My vehicle is at 95,000 miles, and the rpm has begun fluctuating when it shouldnt be. At idle power, it tends to stay around 1,500-1,800 rpm when it should be between 700-1,300 rpm. On the road, and on the highway, the rpm bounces erratically, and the automatic cvt transmission shifts considerably hard between gears when my speed drifts between 25-45 mph and sometimes near highway speed. Harder than it used to. I have to apply extra braking to stop my car when at stop signs or traffic lights or parking. Turning does fine, though the engine drives harder than it should due to the higher rpms.i have been looking up what causes this, and everyone and everything says my transmission is going out. Automatic transmissions shouldn't be failing before 100,000 miles. This has been happening to loads of other people who own nissans with cvt transmissions. And i believe an investigatiom by the nhtsa is warranted. As well as a recall by nissan to fix this issue that has apparantly been going on for a few years.

Around 65,000 miles i started having an issue with the ctv / automatic transmission.the car sometimes jerks/shakes as i accelerate and takes longer than it used to to speed up.this has put me in immediate danger several times - for example, switching lanes on the highway, i can no longer be certain that i will switch lanes in time for the other cars not to hit me.i took this car to a mechanic who said it may be my transmission fluid - i got the fluid changed in an official nissan shop in norwell, ma. The issue was not resolved - and when i called the nissan shop again, they said if the engine light is not on, there is no problem. The issue has not resolved and they do not want to help.

The cvt will shift into a lower gear while stopped with constant brake pressure. 3 to 10 seconds after a complete stop.this "lower shifting" causes the car to move forward without the knowledge of the driver should the driver think he/she is stopped and performing other normal tasks (i.e setting navigation or radio,)this has the possibility of causing vehicle damage or pedestrian injury; without the knowledge of the driver.i can easily make a video of this problem available.

Pulling away from a toll booth on i-80, car would not accelerate.check engine light. Towed to dealer at owner's expense, pulled tran codes p0500, p1574, p1715, p1720 and p0720.only had car for 5 days.after 17 days at dealer, replaced 2 sensors, 31935-1xf00 sensor asmy-rev (n/c) 1 31935-1xf01 sensor asmy-rev at recommendation of nissan tech line. Dealer was unable to replicate the problem prior to repair.this was a life threatening occurrence, car would not accelerate while pulling into traffic.

Nissan versa 1.6 liter cvt transmition 119,800 miles transmition fail, dangerous to drive and hiway with this bad manufacture transmitions

While using the air conditioning compressor (a/c, defroster) the car while at a stop, or while driving at slow speeds under 10 m.p.h. Will cause the car to surge forward unexpectedly. I can have my foot firmly pressing the brake pedal down, and can feel the vehicle struggling to move forward against me. Anyone with size 10 shoe and above (men) foot becomes trapped in accelerator area. Cruise control constantly fails to hold proper speeds, and varies from 10 mph + or - above intended speed while on a flat non incline surface.

While driving vehicle on parkway it started losing power. As i was driving, the engine would rev but it would not pick up speed. Then as i was driving up the hill to my house the car stopped moving, but it was still on. Now the car jerks as ur driving and will not pick up speed.

Power train failure occurred while traveling at proper safe posted speed limits on the freeway and city streets and roads, which resulted in improper upshifting after complete stops and hard upshift slamming type impact on power train upon take off, as well as grinding type noises coming from beneath the engine, including excessive vibration coming up through shift column, this occurred on 9/14/2019 on our 2014 nissan versa note, per the information which we have obtained, this is a common failure of this model after mileage ranging from 50,00 to 80,000 miles of service, and is a costly repair, and feel the auto maker was aware of this power train life span failure, which could have resulted into a life threatening issue for vehicle owners or operators without a safe route of escape from possible traffic collision's, that would have resulted from loss of power during heavy freeway or cross traffic, and being such a small vehicle in such a situation, the injury or loss of life would be great, but the auto maker neglected to, and made no effort to inform us or the public of such issues, and deliberately made this a disposable vehicle to encourage financial losses to vehicle owners and increase auto sales. I for one have been satisfied with this vehicle till now, being it has been properly maintained since it's purchase in 2015, by a reputable certified auto maintenance and repair shop, i also feel that being the auto maker is familiar with this defect and the amount of complaints and costs related to the power train failure, that they should take responsibility for this defect.

See first attached pdf diagram for description. The second attachment shows report of the subsequent inspection by a carmax mechanic. The problem appeared to be intermittent and not reproducible at will.i sold this car back to carmax42 days after its purchase, sustaining a $2260 loss.most of the loss was due to a second accident that occurred on 6/10/2016 that may also have been brake/transmission problem (see third and fourth attachments).

Transmisin is failing. I report for extended warranty with carmax, they state to make a report since supposedly warranty had expired.

Shift hard from park.

Intermittant shudder, vibration when accelerating.vehicle has 45,000 miles on it; this started probably at about 37,000 miles, within the last year.bought it new fall 2013.have mentioned it to krenzen motors in duluth, mn.they have test driven it but have not felt the shudder.have told them about the problem at least twice when i've had the car in for oil changes.they told me the transmission warranty is 60,000 miles or 5 years, whichever comes first.i've really liked the car and have had only a few other minor problems.however, i'm beginning to feel unsure about driving the car, especially out of town. My son had a similar transmission problem with his 2010 nissan including lack of acceleration.they traded the car right away.

Car has a little less than 35000 miles. The car has terrible problems engaging any gear. Transmission is wasted. I was going to cambria from orange county. I felt the car a little weird arriving in cambria, but it still ruined. As i was coming to orange county, the car abandoned me in the freeway. I had to take it off the highway and drive through streets to my house. Car is broken.

Nissan versa note 2014 49000 miles on 12/31/2018, transmission is failing, car doesn't accelerate correctly, i went to nissan a month after warrenty expired and they could not help me. Car is in motion when transmission slips. Highway and residential driving.

Was driving the car in on busy street the transmission started not changing and was wizzing would not pickup speed then it just stopped in middle of traffic

Transmission shutters. Also hesitates when taking off or slow when taking off witch can lead to a accident. These transmissions fail too often. Nissan has not offered a upgrade to the problem. They wind up putting one defective tranny after another

When your hand is resting on the stick shift, and you accelerate.the shifter moves back and forth.i have owned manual transmissions all my life this does not feel right.it does it all the time.took it back to dealer they said nothing wrong ,it is a cvt trans.it feels loose to me

Transmission went out at 93492 on 03/26/2018 costing me $3749.74

Transmission pulls and tugs, sporadic acceleration/deceleration,

The transmission failedin my 2014 nissan versa note because of their design issue and i paid out of pocket to fix it and replaced it at nissan dealership may the 15th and yesterday july 29th at 7pm this second transmission failed extremely another time when i was exiting the highway in sioux falls sd and i almost killed by fast traffic because my car wasn't accelerating and my foot was all the way to the floor and no power so i stopped the car and i was praying no one will kill me in that very fast traffic since i was in the middle of the road and they couldn't let me pull over when i started experiencing the issue so i turned off the car and i restarted it after 20 min and while i was waiting for the car to cool down i was calling sioux falls police department but unfortunately no answer after a wait of 15min . The car is still under warranty for the second transmission but i returned it 3 times to them and they claimed there is no issue in the reports. But ai legally recorded them confirming the issue when they were test driving it and i took it to another transmission repair shop and they confirmed there is an issue

Car was studdering. Gradually got worse .would hesitate when pulling into traffic from a stop dont know how many times i have almost gotten t- boned. Now transmission is completely blown. Paid 12k for a car sitting in my driveway because i dont have a few grand laying around

The cvt transmission is failing loss of power while drivingcan't drive car over 55 mphtransmission oil leaksslipping and jerkingthe rpm of the engine can fluctuate a lot while driving, especially when accelerating.

I bought this 2014 nissan versa note brand new for my daughter. When i purchased this car i was told that it has a lifetime warranty on the engine and power train. After 6 years the car started to give us a problem with the powertrain. It won't change the gear, takes off is slow, loses power, and making noise.i have no money to get it fixed , therefore nissan should step up and fix the issue.the dealer i purchased this vehicle from is out of business.

I noticed the vehicle sputters and jerks when i try to accelerate preventing me from driving on the highway in fear of being in an accident. Took it to a nissan dealership and they diagnosed it as a bad transmission. The cost of a new one is very expensive. The vehicle only has 72,xxx miles on it.

This vehicle was bought for my college-aged daughter to drive to work and school. She was stranded in north carolina when the car failed to accelerate, the engine revved high and the car "just died." i managed to get it back to tennessee and drove it myself. While turning left across traffic, the car did not accelerate at all. If it had been a busy time of day, the results could have been catastrophic for my family. I had my mechanic of 30 years look at the car, he says it needs a new transmission. "might can drive it for a while but i wouldn't let your daughter get in it." this car is only 4 years old and needs a new transmission??? plus it is a death trap for my daughter who is a young driver? i need some advice for this please.

First time vehicle had just started and steering and brakes were locked. Car was shut down and started again and it was ok.the second time vehicle was pulling out of a driveway into street and brakes and steering locked up. Emergency brake had to be used. My 18 year old daughter drives vehicle and i drive on freeway to work. If this were to happen on the freeway or anywhere in traffic serious injury may result. This model is known for faulty transmissions but not sure if this is related. I am taking it to dealer metro nissan redlands, ca. On 8/24/19.

Justlook atmy recall on my vehicle and it had no repair at all.

Takata recall on air bags and brakes pad

As i was slowly coming to a stop at a light my brakes began to pulsate. They did not make any strange noises. I came to a complete stop and was waiting for the light to change when all of a sudden the brake pedal released slightly and i began to roll slowly forward, so i pressed harder on the brakes and stopped. This was a new car at the time so i thought perhaps i just didn't have my foot on the brake hard enough, although i knew the pulsating was not normal. Ever since this incident the pulsating brakes as i'm slowly coming to a stop happens intermittently. However, the brakes releasing while i'm at a stop happens often, especially when i run the air conditioner. I notice that when i'm at a stop and the air conditioner kicks on, the brakes will often release and i have to press down harder to keep the car from rolling forward.i have read similar complaints and i know the investigation regarding this issues has been closed, but i'm telling you, something is not right with the brakes in this car.

My vehicle, unless i'm an exerting more pressure than necessary on the brakes, will lurch forward when the air conditioner fan kicks on.if i'm not consciously paying attention to pressing hard on the brake, the car will start to drift forward even at a standstill.the brakes do not brake smoothly.it is not a gradual smooth stop, it feels like slamming on the brakes with every stop.

This was just a rental vehicle, but this problem was serious enough that i feel it necessary to report. There is a recessed well above the accelerator that traps your foot. Several times while driving this vehicle, i would attempt to pivot my foot on its heel off the accelerator over to the brake, only to find my foot trapped in the recessed space above the accelerator. I would then have to relax my foot and pull it back in order to release my foot and move over to the brake. This delayed braking time several times unless i was consciously paying attention to avoid getting my foot trapped. I wear a size 12.5 shoe, but that's not inordinately large.

The air bad did not deployed in time there was few second delay which caused my daughter to hit her head on steering wheeland then went off.also the breaks she had delayed timing to hit the break like her foot was stuck or something which delayedstopping.

Car surges forward after stopping. Its like the transmission has jumped forward. If your foot isn't firmly on the brake, it could hit a car in front. It does it almost all the time.windshield washers aim very low, with no adjustment to raise them up.

The contact owns a 2014 nissan versa note. The contact stated that while attempting to engage the brake or accelerator pedal, a plastic piece hurt his toe. The vehicle was taken to a dealer.

Vehicle moves abruptly left and right when moving. Happens most obviously when at high speeds on the highway letting off the gas pedal to slow or coast for a moment and then pressing gas to speed up again. Works the same when shifting (manual transmission) at low speeds. Two independent mechanics acknowledge the issue, but could find no cause or solution--it is not grooves in the road or tires or such things. One mechanic called nissan, who said they've had similar complaints with this vehicle, but they can't do anything about it. The vehicle is not safe to drive above 30-40 mph as the wobble in the front end is significant as described. It's not the struts, not the control arms, etc. No code comes up for any electronics issue. It is a manufacturing problem.

The design of the windshield to the doors is hazardous as it limits visibility. Also the back is limited as well. I was broadsided or sideswiped and it was not my fault yet the way they wrote the report put me at fault.

The floor mat of the driver side has two (2)plasticshooks to hold the mat in place.if the hooks are broken or missing the mat slice of the accelerator and brake paddle.if the mat is on top or bottom of the paddle, it interferes with the brake oraccelerator.these are two (2) plastic hooks.i called the dealer and nissan does not offer these parts, the plastics hooks.the only offer the whole carpet with the hooks for $500 plus. This is absurd.this means that i need to pay $500 for two plastics hooks.remember if this hooks are not holding the mat an incident can occur. In my opinion, this is a safety issue.nissan should have this parts available or provide parts more durable, no plastic parts.

Parked my car, as i was walking around to the passenger side heard a "click" noise and my windshield cracked.nothing hit my windshield,it just cracked.the crack is located on the passenger side from the lower corner and goes up all the way to the center of the windshield.

2014 versa note sv bought new, found rust on the 3rd day of purchase in 12+ areas underneath including sub-frame and various components. Complained and requested replacement with a rust free car. Nissan won't replace or refund despite extensive correspondence, emails, phone calls, visits to the dealer, furnishing date stamped pictures of rust areas. Nissan is dragging its feet with feeble excuses - ' no excessive rust found' "rust is not affecting safety of the car' 'rust not affecting performance of the car' - which is why they will not replace it. Upon telling them that the due to rust, the resale value of car is severely diminished to junk car value - they have nothing to say. Filed complaints with authorities including the attorney general but they are slow to process so nothing has come of it so far and nissan won't stand behind its products. Bbb autoline has sided with nissan and they just pissed on the lemon law doing that - despite providing scores of date stamped photographs of the rust areas.nissan is not giving me a charity car, nor it is a used car that they have sold me. I have paid full price with high interest for 6 years that i am going to be paying and i deserve a rust free car without defects but nissan does not seem to agree to that.people, please think a thousand times before buying a nissan. A company that is trying to get away using every lame excuse. I am afraid that nissan may have sold a large number of cars to buyers, with rust simply because the american buyer trusts manufacturers for their quality and integrity - but not in case of nissan.if any law students/retired lawyers/lawyers are willing to help - for an affordable fee - as i can not afford a lot at this time - please help me and may god bless you for your kindness.

I purchased my nissan versa note on 05/14/2014 i took it back to nissan in ocala florida. Complaining about the brakes. Now they are 10 times worse, the center console does not work, the paint is pealing, and the paint on bumper is cracking. I was sideswiped on august 2014 and the brakes almost caused us harm, i swerved off the road just in time. I could not come to a short stop, due to the brakes not holding the oncoming car came off the road and side swiped my car. And then went back on the road to hit 2 motorcycles headon. Thad car came over into my side of the road, and was coming at me head on.the brakes went to the floor. I am glad i kept my cool and swerved to the right ending off the road. If not i would be dead rt now. Also i was having trouble with the drivers side front tire. I took it to be checked at a tire shop in temple texas.the tire assistant showed me my tire, believe it? i have a hard time! there was a plug in my brand new tire. On a brand new car purchased from a nissan dealer! the electrical system does not work correctly. I have to giggle and giggle the cell phone charging unit to get the phone to charge.in both inserts.the gas gauge does not read correctly all the time.......sometimes on a full tank it shows 200 miles and other times it shows 369 miles.......the paint bubbled up and is pealing. I am sure there is most likely other issues.

I bought my car brand new in january of 2014. I have been driving it since. The whole muffler system from the catalytic converter on back needs replaced. That includes the resonator and the muffler and the pipes. Why? it lasted only 3 1/2 years with 51,000 miles on it? that is ridiculous. I paid cash for the car and have no extended warranty. What kind of garbage parts are they using. I live in pennsylvania and i know we get road salt problems but not in 3 1/2 years. How thin is the metal they used? there is not even an aftermarket part to replace these parts. What a rip off.

Spontaneous crack in windshield from bottom edge on passenger side. Car was sitting, not running. I was in the car doing work related paperwork when this occurred. I heard a noise, looked up and saw a crack appear and spread upward.

There's been a recall on nissan versa note transmissions and i was just recently informed that it included my transmission and nissan doesn't want to replace it.

This car has only 34,000 miles on it and the air bag warning light has come and is flashing constantly ... Given the mileage of the car i was shocked and amazed that i would be having a problem.other problem i've had is that it has staled out a couple of times for not reason at all when pulling out onto the road.

First time on the freeway while running, second timei was parked, but when i try to back up it shot downthird time was running. Nissan won't do anything for methey practically said your on your on, and i'm terrified to drive that car, it's just a tragedy waiting to happen and i'm not going to be the victim

In nov. 2019 car was putting took it to the dealership transmission fluid was low and iy had a leak in the line they put fluids in itit was ok for a minute then on nov 13 had trans cooler line put init was running ok until now still putting you reimburse my my but i need a transmission are you doing recalls on my transmission

Nissan needs to take responsibility!!!! there are several transmission complaints for this car everywhere online!

Fuel or exhaust smell in the cabin of the car. Unknown of origin after multiple tests at dealership. Occurs when vehicle is idling and in motion.

I live in arizona.i had come to a stop at a red light in some heavy traffic.i was getting ready to make a right turn.at the point of making the right turn the car died.i could not complete the turn.basically i started to head into other cars that were making a left turn which was perpendicular to my car.i was able to avoid hitting any cars and at the same time was lucky not to be hit by any cars.the car ended up in that left turn lane.when the car stopped i turned the key to the off position and then put the car in park and then waited a minute or two and started the car back up again.no check engine light stayed on after restarting the car and i was able to make it home which was a 1/2 mile away.it was about 105 degrees outside.this seems to be an issue for this type vehicle when it is hot outside.i think one of the service bulletins mentions exactly what i went through.this needs to be fixed because one or more people will get hurt or die.i never have had any issue really of any type with this vehicle before.all the maintenance work that is needed has been done on time.the car has been maintained properly.i did notice probably 30 minutes before driving that the car was having problems accelerating.i kept thinking i didn't have the car in the correct gear but i did. The car during that time seemed sluggish.

The contact owns a 2014 nissan versa note. The contact stated that while driving at 25 mph, the vehicle failed to respond to acceleration attempts. The contact also mentioned that the vehicle erroneously decelerated while the accelerator pedal was depressed. The vehicle was taken to a dealer and the mechanic stated that the problem was unknown. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 3,600.

Nissan versa note 2014 49000 miles on 12/31/2018, transmission is failing, car doesn't accelerate correctly, i went to nissan a month after warrenty expired and they could not help me. Car is in motion when transmission slips. Highway and residential driving.

I almost died. T he transmission is trash. When the car comes to stop and hit the pedal the car doesn't move and when if finally accelerates keeps shaking and the transmission slips and jerks.

Justlook atmy recall on my vehicle and it had no repair at all.

The contact owns a 2014 nissan versa note. The contact stated that while attempting to engage the brake or accelerator pedal, a plastic piece hurt his toe. The vehicle was taken to a dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 11,000. ...updated 03-23-15 updated 6/19/2015

The windshield washer nozzle does not reach the windshield at high speeds (30mph+). They only work good when stopped. This is my second 2014 versa note and i had the same problem with the first one but not quite as bad as the newer one. I talked to the man at the dealer and he said that is the way they are supposed to be. There is no way to adjust them to spray higher. I put small metal washers under the front of the sprayer nozzles on the first one but that is not working for the new one. I tried two washers but that just lifts the nozzle assembly out of the housing and the washers fall out. I drive about 1000 miles per week and this is a real annoyance and a hazard if i can't get the windshield clear. I have to be sure to clear them at stop lights and stop signs.

Parked my car, as i was walking around to the passenger side heard a "click" noise and my windshield cracked.nothing hit my windshield,it just cracked.the crack is located on the passenger side from the lower corner and goes up all the way to the center of the windshield.

Crack across windshield from passenger lower side across towards rear view mirror. Over time crack has spread in a curve up and down.reported the crack andwindshield has been unavailable for replacement due to a hold by nissan. No apparent reason, other than cold temp.

Car surges forward after stopping. Its like the transmission has jumped forward. If your foot isn't firmly on the brake, it could hit a car in front. It does it almost all the time.windshield washers aim very low, with no adjustment to raise them up.

I have had three problems with my rear tires. Yes the first time it had a piece of metal found by the dealer in a tire.#2 i had a flat again in the other rear tire "no problem" found by the dealer.#3 another flat tire found in the same tire where dealer found "no" problem? i changed the tire "green" tire top by myself hopefully no fourth flat tire??

Had to replace rear hub spindle , was defective thought it was a brake problem. Brought it to nissan a few times they replace brakes. One day it was making a lot of noise. Had it towed to nissan finally figured out it was defective hub spindle assembly. Could potentially cause an accident!
